Next season in english still has yet to air so have a scattered analysis on Mk’s relationship with touch and Monkey King’s VS the Six Eared Macaque’s teaching techniques and how they kinda interact with Mk while I cope
(This is a very long post with a bunch of screenshots from the show so buckle up if you click the keep reading <3 bGKJAWMOEF)
From the beginning we see Mk very touchy with his friends and they are touchy with him. Mei grabs him, picks him up, hugs him and leans into him with an easy familiarity that he hardly even seems to notice. Throughout the show we see the easy contact he has with his friends and the way he connects with them through touch. Touch almost doesn’t appear to be something Mk really registers to start out with. It’s just something that happens with friends and he accepts that readily and doesn’t even think about. It’s just another way of talking and connecting and it seems to be a rather big part of how he connects with people.
Right off the bat, it’s established that Monkey King is a very touchy person as well. We start off the first meeting with his tail around Mk’s waist, picking him up, putting his hands on his shoulders to encourage him and he doesn’t seem to be all that bothered by Mk when he’s literally climbing him to poke his face. He even climbed on Mk’s shoulders and grooms his hair a bit during Bad Weather like its the most normal and naturally thing in the world.
Their first bit of time really training together we start off with Monkey King dodging weaving and then quite literally throwing Mk into a mountain.
Mk’s startled of course, screams the whole way down, but never once does he look hurt.

Hey sorry if you already talked abt it so i probably just haven’t seen the post, but could you go more in depth with your AU? I just think it’s really interesting and would love to know more! The designs are AWESOME btw !!
Strange Beginning AU(LMK)
Context: set in the Song Dynasty in China, humanity has never seen demons because they were in hiding to blend into the crowds of humans. However that changes when a certain demon monkey meets the monkey king and his warrior.
MK grew up in a small demon village, living with his adopted father Pigsy and his friend Sandy who supported him during his life. However MK was the only demon monkey in that demon village, that’s when he realized he must have been from The Monkey Kingdom in flower fruit mountain which he wasn’t fully aware of till he discovered the stories from Sandy and Pigsy. MK being quite adventurous attempted to travel all the way to The Monkey Kingdom.
During his travel, he’s met small human villages but knew a couple things of being hidden as he hid his tail and ears from them. It worked successfully and he managed to leave the villages and continue his journey- only to find the wrong location..The Bull Demon Fortress.
MK snuck inside only to meet Mei and Red Son. Who had caused the three to become startled by one another, the two royals were close friends- specifically only friends from being restricted by the outside world. Which makes them astonished to see a demon monkey in person, the two immediately started asking questions and giving MK a tour besides turning him in to their parents. After awhile, they let MK secretly stay for the night and find out MK was searching for The Monkey Kingdom. So the three had agreed to help each other.
The trip wasn’t long as MKs old trips before he met the two royals, and it was a relief for the young simian. As they inch closer to The Monkey Kingdom, they were ambushed by a group of simians who were in the lookout, startling everyone and preparing to fight. However during the fight it was cut off as Macaque had cornered the three down. MK was astonished by seeing many demon monkeys, specifically to Macaque by seeing his ears while Mei and Red Son were too busy trying to escape them.
Macaque had brought them in and informed the king about the three intruders, instead of them being taken to be punished. The king was quite immature than Macaque, laughing and joking towards the children- he was actually excited to see them and introduced himself as Sun Wukong.
Sun Wukong and Macaque had discussed with the three young demons, MKs main purpose was to find where had came from and lead him to travel here. It left the two simians confused as they had never been informed of a missing simian child from their kingdom. Leaving everyone concerned and confused, MK wasn’t originated from this kingdom and it left everyone wanting more answers. During the time, Wukong had decided to give the three children a tour around the kingdom since they never had guests at all. Macaque kept guard of him and Wukong kept teasing about it, MK had noticed their dynamic was strange but he didn’t know what it was.
MK has stayed in the kingdom for quite some time, having permission for Pigsy and Sandy to visit at any time. It was later announced that MK would be trained by Macaque to fight much better, seeing that he was a poor fighter in general. But as the two train more and more, MK learns a lot of things about the royal guard. Revealing that macaque isn’t a regular demon monkey but instead a celestial like wukong. Along with a possession of a strange ability that manipulates shadows. The two had kept it secret till it was the right time to tell the others.
Besides the demons point of view. humans were inching closer into finding out about their kind and beginning a uprising of killing all of them. A couple of demon monkeys were found and tortured as well as being held in captivity. Causing the monkey kingdom to grow worry as they noticed a couple of their friends and families going missing.
During that time, macaque and MK went out of the kingdom to start their routine, but while they head to their spot they found a human village near the kingdom. But what had caught MKs eyes were cages of bloody corpses of familar simians, MK informed macaque immediately and without macaques permission, he had went out to try and help a few escape. It was successful but unfortunately the two were caught and had begun running back to the kingdom, sadly the humans were inching closer to them and Macaque had decided to hold them back to let MK and the other simians to escape easier. Only for the dark furred simian to be struck in the eye by an arrow as he was too distracted fighting with many humans.
MK made it back to the kingdom and informed Sun wukong, seeing the king become pale and shock had startled MK of seeing his cheerful expression disappear.
Sun Wukong went out to save his companion, Macaque, only to see his beloved friend injured and bleeding out on the floor. However he wasn’t dead due to his immortality but he felt regular pain regardless. It had angered the monkey king and left him into a frenzy.
(THATS ALL I HAVE FOR NOW BUT HERES SOME INFORMATION OF THE LOCATIONS)
The Monkey Kingdom
Set in flower fruit mountain, this kingdom is filled with many primates from Large to Small. The main temple/castle is hidden behind the curtains of a waterfall and their emperor is none other than The Monkey king AKA Sun Wukong.
The kingdom is quite far and hidden, but they are known to be a good asset of strength and agility. However, they’ve never interacted with other kingdoms in the last century.
Besides their emperor, they have a second command and also the royal guard who protects Him, The Six Eared macaque.
They celebrate a lot and have many festivals with foods and drinks, known for their tropical fruits.
Sun Wukong wasn’t the original founder of the mountain but instead was the third (and permanent from being immortal)
The Bull Demon Fortress
It’s the second strongest kingdom in China, known for their manipulation of power and flames
The kingdom associates with the dragon kingdom making them close allies (which is why Mei and red son are friends)
Despite their brute force, they have exotic foods as well but mostly meat and spices which they sell and gain more wealth.
The Demon Bull King hates the monkey kingdom because the last time he visit wasn’t a warm welcome (so the relationship of these two kingdoms isn’t good but they keep their distance towards each other)

Wait when did Nezha become school friends with Peaches??? That's so cute and sad!
I mentioned it in this post about how the Celestial Realm be doing about Wukong's sudden change in behavior.
Nezha is like the only Celestial who would bother investigating what happened the night Wukong starting acting strange - his "Protector of Children" powers telling him that an infant was in distress.
Nezha doesn't find it surprising that Wukong got hurt protecting a baby. But what does is the fact that A: Baby is a brand new Stone Monkey, and B: Wukong seems to have lost his memories.
The Four Stalwarts have all agreed to let their King heal in his own time, not wanting to stress him or their new Prince out. Wukong hasn't truly lived for a long time, and perhaps this unusual circumstance will patch up the holes in his spirit.
But, Nezha isn't about to let Wukong wander around Megapolis without some back-up so...
Peaches: "Hi dads! This is Nez! He's in my class at school." "Nez", a snake demon: "Hi." Tang, sitting at the coffee table: "Nice to meet you, Nez! I'm Mr Tang, one of Peaches' guardians. I'm glad that he's made a friend!" Pigsy: "I'll stick on a fresh pot of tea. Did you have dinner yet, kiddo? You sure that your parents know where you are?" "Nez", surprised: "Uh. Well, I usually feed myself. It's no issue with my father." Pigsy, immediately in the kitchen: "Then you should stay for dinner! We're having banmian." Baby MK, on a baby mat: "Ban-man!" Peaches, cooing at the baby: "Yes, didi! Ban-mian! You're getting smarter every day!" Baby MK: (*delighted chirping!*) "Nez": (*sheds single tear of joy at seeing a healthy family dynamic*)
Pigsy thinks Peaches' friend is a little cold, but probably just needs some support. He always makes sure Nez leaves with a few servings of dinner for himself.
Tang is... suspicious. But a lot of the details he's managed to pick up seem to paint a picture of a stunted, mixed-demon with an unsupportive parent. And while Nez talks like an adult, he still reacts to things like a kid does. Tang and Nez share mythology knowledge whenever they run into each other. Tang wonders if there's a way to meet Nez's father... so he can smack him.
And ofc the baby stone monkey Xiaotian/MK. Nez has held full conversations with the infant - a side effect of his position as Protector of Children. MK thinks Nez is the coolest person on earth (other than his gege Peaches of course!).

i've noticed how there's been lots of family related content going on here 👀👀 so if you don't mind me keeping the train going, may i request a (separate) mayor, SWK, macaque, syntax and nezha with an s/o who is a single parent ?? and maybe s/o has a child that was shy and a bit awkward towards them at first meeting because s/o's kid didn't know what to feel knowing that their parent is dating someone, yet overtime after they hanged out more often, they slowly warm up to the boys and even started to admire, and like them where it's gotten to the point where the child was comfortable, and happy enough to be with them that they calls them 'dad' ??? 🥺
Anon I like the way you think 🤩
Also I may or may not have gotten ahead of myself and added MK and Redson because I'm still on a roll from the parent scenarios >:00
MK, SWK, Macaque, Nezha, Mayor, and Syntax x Single Parent!Reader (moreso platonically talking Abt their kid!)
MK
The best with kids! He finds it very easy to engage with you and your child :)
Also pretty protective of you and them. Not helicopter-level but still worries a substantial amount
He understands that the child may not like him at first, but he still tries! No matter what age they are, he finds a way to entertain them!
If the child is able and willing to be picked up, he does. Holds them in his arms, on his shoulder, piggyback rides—you name it
He also tries to take some stress off of you when he can. If you’re helping the child with some homework, he’s fine with tidying up a bit around the house
When the kid starts warming up to him, he has the time of his life as they talk to each other about their interests. He definitely passes along his favorite stories about Monkey King
Cries when the kid calls him “dad”. Like omg it’s like a waterfall ;-; he’s so happy
10/10 he’s super fun to be around and always has a treat for them
SWK
He’s very good with children, but he never pictured having one himself. Now that he’s with you he’s a little more open to connecting with them
No idea what to do at first. Probably freezes up but still tries to talk
You’ll have to nudge them both to start socializing
He begins by telling them simple stories from his life—nothing about the violence or bad parts of the journey, but probably others like how he became immortal
Allows the kid to gently play with his ears and tail. He wants them to lead, to size him up, bc he’s afraid of being too rough with them
When the child starts being more open with him he starts being more open too. He acts more like a dad during this time
Loves the little family dynamic he has with you now. He looks forward to seeing your kid, he looks forward to bonding with you both
Stims SO hard when the child refers to him as their dad. Like yes!! That’s him!!!!!
9/10 just because he would probably think in the mindset of “ok this is a baby monkey”
Macaque
He can tolerate kids. But he hasn’t had to worry about being around them a whole lot ever since leaving FFM. That being said, he is terrified of messing up
He treats them like they’re made of glass. You’ll have to encourage him a lot—he reminds himself that this isn’t just some stranger, it’s your child.
The one thing he masters very quickly is bedtime. He loves telling stories and playing with the shadows to help lull the child to sleep :)
Really good at helping you and the child with a daily routine. He’s 100% there to pick them up from school, he goes to the parent-teacher conferences with you, heck, he’s not half-bad at homework.
Once the two are closer, he offers up the idea of training them to do karate or some kind of martial arts. It’s a great bonding experience.
So patient with them. If the child ever shows signs of needing space or time to figure something out, he steps back. He makes it clear he is willing to help and then lets things play out.
Really good at pretend play. The best French waiter impression in the pretend restaurant :)
When he is referred to as “dad” he realizes he’s in for the long haul and is SO okay with it.
10/10 shows up in a shadow portal at their school to drop off their lunch
Nezha
Man’s is going into this knowing very little about modern kids. But like everything else he’s done, he’s gonna put all the effort he can into it.
Probably really formal about it? The kid is so confused and actually laughs at him a little
You have to give him tips here and there. Like, no, they don’t know complex arithmetic yet, don’t bond with them over a conversation about it?
He likes being active with them. Trips to the park, simple backyard games like tag or hide and seek—it’s honestly super nice and relaxing for him and he likes seeing them energetic and ready to chase him
He’s really intelligent about many subjects, so he’s probably the best out of all of them for homework or studying.
He picks them up from school using his fire wheels and the kid LOVES it
He reads those parenting books if he feels the need to or if he needs serious guidance, but more often than not he comes to you for advice
Acts like it’s no big deal that he gets called “dad” but on the inside he’s jumping for joy
9/10 the kid has to educate him on what My Little Pony is because he has no idea about modern media
Redson
So so so afraid of messing up. His childhood was rough in every sense of the word; with his powers having to be toned down by a whole lot and then his own father being sealed beneath a mountain with his mother left to raise him alone. He wants your kid to have a good childhood.
He’s very practical. He doesn’t imagine a whole lot and this leads to a lot of dead-end conversations with your kid.
Eventually he says “screw it” and not only reads a ton of parenting books but also decides to go along with any tangent or question the child presents him with
It’s entertaining to watch them try to figure each other out
More than anything Redson likes to try and cook meals for you all. He’s got fun-shaped pancakes down to a T.
Definitely hypes the kid up at school. Drops them off and picks them up in his coolest vehicles, puts their best grades and projects on the fridge
He likes having the kid meditate with him every once in a while, just to show them how to just be.
Like Nezha, acts very casually at being called dad. But he will cry as soon as the child is out of earshot
9/10 he “accidentally” teaches the child to refer to their classmates as peasants.
Mayor
He’s a busy man by default. But he’s learning to balance everything as he spends more time with you and eventually is introduced to your child
Before anything, he reads the books and consults anyone on his staff with kids. He talks to you as well. How should he talk to them? What do they like? Is there a certain food they enjoy?
Cool, calm, collected. Waits very patiently for the child to assess him and answers any questions they have.
He involves himself in their school stuff. Very attentive to the quality of teachers, how the child is doing in their classes. Second most useful in helping them with work(first being Nezha).
Takes the kid with him to work every once in a while to show them around. The most dad-like out of all of them. In appearance, in attitude, and of course in jokes.
After a particularly dumb pun, the child laughs and says “dad that’s so bad!” And this man FREEZES
Cries about it to you, is so happy to be accepted by your child and have you both in his life
10/10 he owns a #1 Dad mug now :)
Syntax
Listen I love a scientist spider as much as the next guy but I cannot see him liking kids. It’ll take a lot of effort on your part to get both him and your child to hang out with each other
He’s hesitant, he isn’t sure what kids even like, so he makes a peace offering of sorts. He shows them his software where he can code games and what not
It’s interesting to the kid so they end up talking with him about video games and science for a while
Slowly but surely they get along really well! Syntax really does try his best because it’s for you, and in the end he can’t honestly say he doesn’t love your child too
Very engaging when it comes to schoolwork, he finds it easy to explain things in a simpler or more entertaining way than the dumb directions do!
Before long he’s actually offering to take care of the kid while you’re busy or pick them up from school. It’s the highlight of his day when they hop in his car and show him the high score they got on a science project because he helped them!
(Takes them for ice cream after because OBVIOUSLY this is a very momentous occasion)
Shocked when they call him dad. He never thought he’d be deserving of that title, or even of that position, but he’s been doing it all along and he’s proud to call them his child as well as yours.
8/10 rough patches here and there but he’s got the effort!

What are your in depth thoughts about MK’s and Sun Wukong’s vs MK’s and Macaque’s relationships? Because lemme tell you I’ve got so many it’s essay worthy
i saved you for last <3 but i honestly don't know if i can talk about this coherently T^T
short answer: they are on different levels in 2 ways, MK's comfortability and in how they grow
long answer: *inhales*
so you see, there are many levels that are set between the two relationships. and by levels i mean power dynamics, casualness, formalities, respect, and idolization :)
MK and Sun Wukong
with MK and Sun Wukong their relationship began very formal. MK was simply Wukong's student (with a wish to one day be close friends with his mentor/idol), but then by around 1x09, there becomes this shift in their dynamic. in this episode, we do get insight into how far Wukong actually cares for MK because for about most of s1, the monkey keeps his distance while putting up a laid back attitude. but after MK admits to his desire of being "good enough, like [Wukong]," you will notice that Sun Wukong, slowly starts to pull down his walls for MK. he even invites MK to stay over with him for New Years (2x00), despite knowing that it was more likely for MK to leave and celebrate with his friends. (WHICH MK EVEN SAYS BECAUSE BY THIS POINT MK COMES TO REALIZE THAT THEIR RELATIONSHIP MIGHT NEVER BREACH INTO THE FRIENDSHIP HE ROMANTICIZED IN HIS HEAD. THUS SHOWING HOW THE TWO ARE DOING A REVERSE IN THEIR DYNAMIC AND- *gets dragged away to calm down*)
as i was saying.
in s2, Wukong ends up leaving to investigate a way to stop LBD before things blow over (which succeeds and fails bc it did, in fact, blow over). he didn't do it because he believed that it would hurt MK. personally, my assumption is that Sun Wukong didn't really see himself as that great of a mentor and that MK had been able to quickly pick up on new moves and techniques without much help from him, and with that thought, he believed that by leaving MK nothing but scrolls and a goal, MK would still be capable of mastering the new skills (which he did, thereby reinforcing that idea). but unfortunately, our beloved monkey king forgot that while MK is a very capable individual of incredible power, he's not confident in himself. he's simply "just loud" about himself and his prowess (which, if you noticed, MK grew even more quieter about this in seasons 2 & 3....fascinating).
so now there's this manufactured push to bring back their previous formality because Wukong is not completely ready to tell MK the truth despite how much he cares and trusts him (because, and this is my opinion, Wukong really wants to ensure that MK is not too involved in something as dangerous as LBD because she can get into your head and she can make matters worse for everybody). said manufactured push confuses MK because they had come so far from 1x01 and the distance they had before. sure, it's not as close as s3 and s4, but it definitely felt like they were at the cusp of something. this leaves MK sort of in his own limbo on where he stands with the Monkey King, and even if he sought advice about this with his friends, none of them have met the guy yet and can only make opinions based on their assumptions of what they feel like is going on (*cough, cough* Pigsy *cough, cough*).
and even after s2, in s3 Wukong is exhausted, a lot of his power depleted, and has to try and mingle civilly with MK's friends on a mission he originally planned to do alone (a suicidal mission to obtain the Samadhi Fire, if i might add). his reasoning for refusing at the beginning is because they are mortals, which MK misinterprets to mean that Wukong does not think MK can handle this mission and wants to prove himself.
omg their relationship is so complicated and messy T^T i love it
anyway, MK's and Sun Wukong's relationship is a push and pull between both people wanting to uphold and prove their worth to the other (Wukong lying to keep MK ignorant of a danger the monkey plans to eradicate in secret VS MK pushing himself into becoming powerful in order to prove himself as someone swk sees as worthy to trust). also, their dynamic is literally a platonic slow burn that slowly brings them closer and closer with s4 beginning with them (swk mostly lol) trying to be more honest and upfront about their thoughts and feelings. and s4 ending with the two actually fighting for each other and protecting each other and fighting WITH each other and T^T it's so beautiful. but also because their dynamic is a slow burn, that provides ample time to seed in doubt and insecurities and wanting to bottle up your issues to keep the peace and-
ugh T^T them <3
(side note: the actual timeline of this show is a tad confusing to me. how long was s1? a month, a couple months, a week? how long was s2? how long is the gap between seasons???? idk and i've tried to find something feasible to work with but i'm mostly just taking an "academic" estimation)
but now onto Macky and MK's relationship!
Mackenzie and MK
this one despite how rocky it looks is not a slow burn dynamic. it's got a fun roller coaster of levels because it goes "secret mentor/student" to "enemies" to "frenemies?" to "morally dubious but is actually a softie" to "potential mentor 2.0???" and i love it.
so, MK and Macky's dynamic begins in 1x09 (the blessed episode) since that's Mackackle's introduction to the show and MK begins to train under him in secret because MK is frustrated with swk's teaching methods. through the brief montage of MK's training, i can't help but notice the words and phrasing Macky uses:
Mackarell: [sounding disappointed] Not bad...[chuckles] [in a mocking tone] don't get me wrong, but I was expecting a little more with someone of your power. MK: [is defensive] H-hey, I've got more- I can give way more than that! [sighs] I can do better. Macaroni: [bemused] Kay, maybe show me next time.
ok, honestly, i just wanna talk about this. because if you heard it without seeing Marconi's face and how they animated him, you could side-step the the fake disappointment and mocking tone. what he's saying on the surface, isn't anything malicious or cruel. he is acting like a mentor and it appears like he is trying to encourage MK so he can stop hesitating. but that's not what Mac's really doing.
he is acting disappointed in MK because MK has a need to prove himself. the scene before MK meets Macaque, he is with Wukong and is frustrated by how slow his training is. he knows he can do some pretty powerful moves if his mentor allowed him to, if only he can prove to him that he can level up from the "baby stuff", if only he could have someone see that potential and train him in something more his "style." how convenient that right after he vents his frustrations MK encounters exactly what he wants, but oh no, they're disappointed in his strength and prowess, he has to prove that wrong, he CAN prove that wrong.
see where i'm going? MK fell for Macky's web, hook-line-and-sinker because it was tailor made for him. BUT! this mentor/student dynamic does not last very long. and that's mostly because it never a long term relationship in the slightest. Macky always planned to use MK's powers for his own, so now the two are slotted into the enemies level. they were never on equal ground like MK thought, or even on a similar mentor/student level MK has with Wukong. Macaquack absolutely abused that dynamic for his own gain and MK lost his trust for it.
MK cannot trust Macky, why should he? in s2, MK and Macky's relationship is mostly antagonistic because Mk cannot trust Mac and Mac enjoys tormenting the guy by hanging his insecurities over him. they are not on equal ground. Mac only sees MK as some mortal child who is in over his head and thinks he can be a Wukong 2.0 while MK sees Mac as someone who betrayed his trust, tried to kill him and his mentor and it is very personal.
but then there's this interesting choice made by lmk. Mac warns MK of an upcoming danger. why does he do it? he had just proven that he is an enemy! but also, he ends up freeing MK's friends on the basis that it "wasn't fun anymore". why take pity (should we even call it pity) on MK enough to tell him that "big things are coming"?
why choose to give MK some (very vague) advice about what's to come? what caused Macky to decide to offer this information?
well, 1st it is clearly the writers' way of showing that there is more than meets the eye with Macky. this is a little indicator for the audience about "hey! keep an eye on him! he's more complex than you think! he's more than a stock villain!" 2nd, this is the very first push into Mac's more amiable relationship with MK.
in s3, Macky is under LBD's command and has to follow her orders or else she might send him back to the Diyu either by ripping his soul from his body, or encasing him in ice/bone. he is only on her side to survive. he doesn't even plan to stay. instead, it really looks like Mac wants to escape from her hold (which he eventually plans out after learning about the gang's mission to find the Rings of Samadhi).
when it comes to MK, Mac is very antagonistic. @shadowpeachyuri made a really great analysis on Macky's antagonistic behavior in s3. especially in 3x04 where he taunts and mocks MK for his self worth and powers, but he's also stalling from his own mission in retrieving MK for LBD. most of s3 is him stalling and picking fights with people rather than do his own job. not to mention, that he purposefully separated MK and Wukong believing it would be easier to retrieve them. but why all the stalling and hesitation? because he's upset with his circumstances, and wants to take out on everyone? yeah, that's definitely part of it.
still in s3 Mac is not trying to befriend MK, he's not trying to help him either, but he also isn't truly trying to catch him. his main objective is getting out of dodge, escaping and finding somewhere that is far from here. yet, he can't help but challenge MK into using his powers, offer some (very biased and skewed) advice on who the guy should trust. and it's not until "Embrace Your Destiny" when his on-again and off-again mood finally gets to MK because he saved MK, he brought MK to Mei and he gave them the Not-Mayor guy for information.
just...this whole exchange T^T
Mackardy: Look, I brought you the Lady Bone Demon's lapdog, but I'm not up for being a hero, kid.
here lies, Macky trying to tell MK that he is not on his side. he has been constantly antagonistic and while LBD is also his enemy, he was planning to just give MK and his gang enough help for them to plan out how to defeat her.
MK: We don't need you to beat him. We just need you to keep him busy. As long as he's [Monkey King] under her control the Mech's vulnerable. We can do this! You can do this.
enter MK, looking at Macky with such optimism and arguing back at Macky with the guy's own logic. it won't be a battle to try and defeat Wukong, Macky just has to "keep him busy". Stall, like he's been doing for all of s3. and he sprinkles in a bit more optimism and encouragement to sweeten the deal.
Macaroon: Nice speech, kid but it's not gonna- MK: [frustrated growl] STOP! You keep playing at being this bad guy, acting like you're just in it for you! But I know deep, deep down: you're not that guy. Help us. Make it right. Macadoodle: I'm not a hero, bud MK: Then be a warrior!
personally, i feel like this is the moment where the two's new dynamic begins. also, Macky and MK's relationship feels a but more on equal footing. neither of them hold a pedestal or an image of who they are. MK is able to figure out that a lot of Macky's outward appearance is just that, an appearance. and Macky is able to see that MK isn't some Wukong 2.0 he imagined up in his head in s1. MK is the Monkey King's successor but he is also his own person who will and has made different decisions than Wukong.
after s3, their dynamic is very similar to mentor/student in 4x10, but not in the same way as in 1x09. Macky isn't trying to be manipulative or play with double meanings, he's actually trying to help and figured a video game rpg would be the best bet since MK likes video games. MK is able to snap back at Macky and isn't afraid of showing the monkey his worries and fears (something he's struggling to with Wukong and vice versa) because Macky has seen that side of him already.
idk it's fascinating. i feel like i'm repeating myself a lot, but my main takeaway is that MK and Wukong have a slow burn friendship that began with formalities and over the seasons, they gradually grew closer and more comfortable with admitting that they care about each other (mostly Wukong needed this help but it's ok). and MK and Macky's relationship though began as enemies, grew into 2 characters who view each other as equals by the end and respect ach other loads.

Cinema Sins/Wins Rip Off of Lego Monkie Kid.
Yeah yeah I’m back folks, I just decided to take a looong break.
Inspired by @satansaidmyturnintheh3||scape
Rules:
-I won't be counting Animation Mistakes, because Idk how to do that, and I myself am a beginner animator (more like incredibly amateur, to the point I'm asking my sister for help) Unless of course the Animation is obviously and clearly having a mistake for me to watch.(Or it is said in the wiki) The other reason is because I don't want to keep repeating a scene just to check for an animation mistake.
-!This is mostly for entertainment purposes, sorry if I sound too mean!
-I also won't be counting flashbacks as 'mistakes' because most of them are based on bias.
-I'll be formatting it like this
-Neutral
-Sin
-Win
Let’s get started.
——————————————-
-Intro.
._.
-Love how you can see where Mei, Sandy and MK are in this scene.
-On the other hand why does Pigsy have a random game machine beside his shop? I know there are apartment buildings on top of said shop but in Season 2 he actively has authority to remove it.
-Secondly is MK currently on break at the moment or is he just, ‘slacking off’ judging by his clothes he should be currently working.
-Dragon Horse and Stone Monkey.
-Ah yes the underrated trio. Sandy, Mei and MK. Please tell me this group has a name.
-Bad time to call your daughter.
-The way Mei is so nervous to talk to her mother and the way she talks as if her mother doesn’t even give her enough time to explain, like I think Mei’s Mother is cutting her off at times here and it’s not really okay. It feels like Mei is talking to her boss than her Mom.
-Sandy for the win.
-The finishing move is a spin of the staff and a hit to the leg…wow MK.
-I really love how Sandy is just casually friends with these guys. Like these guys just met Sandy a few weeks ago and all of a sudden they said ‘Let’s be friends’
-Ok MK you should really get social cues…or at least let Mei get a word in-
-‘I always wanted to see Mei’s secret Dragon House full of secret Dragon stuff’ makes me wonder why no one believes in the Monkey King stories. Either that or why Mei isn’t being worshipped like a deity by now.
-Also MK, kinda creepy…but to be fair Mei put cameras on all of you…
-BRO THIS BULL CLONE HAS EVERYTHING ON HER?!
-Why does this Bull Clone pull out the same Two Pictures twice?
-Mei doesn’t smile in her photo, along with the rest of her family :(
-In fact she looks kinda restricted.
-Also Key detail, looks like Mei’s little green hair things are dyed!
-PIF confirms that Sha Wujing’s spear and Zhu Bajie’s rake are Celestial Weapons that later tie into Season 4
-We also have the Calabash, PIF’s fan, Wukong’s staff, Nezha’s spear and two of the Samadhi Fire Rings…though I think by this time of development this probably is Nezha’s little ring thingys in his shoes? Not really sure. The only one we don’t know about is the unidentified sword and the random rope.
-Also is she implying that her own fan is a powerful artifact? I guess that makes sense…?
-Why does PIF’s animation always stretch her or squish her I can’t take her seriously XD worse that it’s usually the face.
-Mei wanting to be a normal child is so sad. On the other hand why don’t we have more fanfics of Mei and her family dynamic? Come on people the angst is right there!
-When you think about it, the High-Tech security might’ve been the reason Mei became the ‘Tech Girl’ in the group. Since her family dabbles in High-Technology it’s only obvious she grew curious of that stuff.
-On the other note, what’s with Ancient families and suddenly getting a grasp at handling High-Technology? Like bro Red Son and Mei have so many parallels to each other it’s insane.
-MEI THIS IS WHY YOU DONT LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN.
-You know Red Son you might need to double down in calling Mei a peasant because uhh…wow, the place is huge.
-Mei’s room doesn’t have a door, which shows how shitty these people actually are.
-Also Mei has a lot of rock aesthetic posters, including one with a spider meaning Mei canonically had a rock phase. That or a goth phase so goth Mei is probably canon.
-Why I thought of rock is because of the two sets of guitars she has, one being an electric guitar.
-Mei also has a skateboard indicating she used to skate.
-She has an indoor TV with two game controllers (Why didn’t they just play in her bedroom?)
-And finally she has some things I think her parents would’ve given her such has the pony statue and the meditation carpet on the floor.
-Also apparently she plays the piano? Or is that even a piano?
-The legend of Mei’s sword is kinda cool actually.
-WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU’RE NOT ALLOWED TO TOUCH IT?! HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO GETS TO WEILD IT THEN?!
-I have a feeling I know why no one has been able to hold that sword in like…ever (They all look so mean)
-‘You two boot up the old TV!’ What TV? There is literally no TV there? Is there a TV off-screen? Even so where would you put said TV? And again, why not your room?
-MK control your strength- how the hell does that even happen?
-Bull Clone literally just yeeted his hat at him.
-Said Bull Clone took the precious Dragon Sword despite the fact that he was struggling to get it off the statue
-Mei calls her Motorcycle like a horse, get it? Dragon Horse?
-Okay now I don’t blame MK I think that pinball machine is old. BECAUSE HOW DOES THAT JUST HAPPEN?!
-Mei this house should at LEAST take up a whole acre, HOW BIG IS YOUR HOUSE?!
-Mei fixing her bike is while she is chasing the Bull Clone is badass as hell. We do not talk about her enough.
-Pro tip: Never mess with Mei.
-This is why we need to give this family some doubt, okay if literally all her ancestors are dissing her and insulting her to her face because of the way she acts then maybe you shouldn’t turn a blind eye.
-‘You know what I am part of this family! I am Mei! Descendant of the Great Dragon of the West Sea, this is mine! And this is my House!” You go girl, show these guys a what you’re made of!
-A very good take on Mei accepting who she is despite her family’s expectations on her. She’s part of the family but she knows that she needs to stand up for herself. Good bravo.
-IS IT JUST ME OR IS THAT THING BIGGER THAN NORMAL?!
-I wonder what the parents’ reaction was, Holy cow this might’ve been QUITE the sight.
-Yep that Bull Clone is straight up dead.
-MK I think that machine is really just old.
-Lol, Sandy making sure MK doesn’t lose focus.
-‘Somebody forgot our luggage’ then she stares directly at the dad and said dad doesn’t give a damn.
-The fact that Mei has to apologize first before getting praised is messed up as hell. If someone is trying to steal a really powerful relic such as that, then obviously it’s gonna be chaos, but the fact she has to apologize first before they acknowledge she did something good is messed up.
-But to be fair I think they do love Mei, really, but the way they parent just icks me.
-And Mei’s mom sounds like she pulled that whole talk out from google.
-Mei’s dad sounds…familiar hold up-
-KNEW I HEARD THAT VOICE SOMEWHERE. (Also apparently Mei’s mom is the same VA as Mei, so Stephanie Steph is just talking to herself)
-Poor MK…

Heart behind the lie # 26 : wolves and love
Wukong is questioning a lot of things today
“You're okay Monkey King? You look…tired.” Asked MK as he turned towards the sage, compass still in hand, one needle stubbornly pointing east. The sage immediately straightened, hiding his unease with a plastic smile, crossing his arms behind his head to appear unbothered.
“I'm not tired at all, bud ! Just kinda gets boring here.” The lie rolled off so easily, he could almost believe it himself. He was, in fact, tired, emotionally tired. He spent the last few hours worrying about the way Macaque's lips tasted against his. Worrying about how this could either change their whole dynamic, or crush any hopes he ever dared to have about their blossoming friendship. Macaque said to leave it at that, for now. And he was right, because there were quite a lot to sort out and this was neither the time, nor the place for this. But still, Sun Wukong couldn't restrain the thoughts shooting in his mind, he couldn't control the way his heart was leaping out of his chest for the last few hours. The sage tried to hide it all, they just had rejoined the others after a long, tortuous walk, he couldn't let himself be pulled by his own thoughts. He has to push them away, no matter how enticing they were. “Leggo! The faster we walk, the faster we get out of here!”
MK narrowed his eyes, seemingly unconvinced by his poor acting, but he said nothing of it and turned towards the others.
“Yeah, okay. Leggo!” The kid cheerfully resumed their walk, in the front, like always. From what he was seeing through his gold coated eyes, the group was relatively unscathed. Tang did have an ugly, ruby red slash on his left arm, but nothing threatening.
Apparently, the group had been attacked by “shadow beasts” while the two monkeys were swallowed by the floor, at least that's what they described them as. They got ambushed almost immediately after the two monkeys disappeared, it happened fast. One minute they were searching, the other they were circled by growling masses of writhing black smoke. Fortunately, light (more specifically fire) seemed enough to scare them away, for now.
They tried to ask Macaque about the nature of those beasts, after all he was the one dwelling in shadows. But the black furred monkey didn't seem to recognize anything, according to him there were a lot of creatures related to shadows, writhing forms and fear of light were common in, at least, two dozen of shadow related species. Even so, the macaque assured that as long as they huddled close to a source of light, the beasts wouldn't dare come closer, especially since he was here. Even if weakened, Macaque was still a powerful master of darkness, shadows related beasts feared him as much as they admired him.
“Are we ever gonna find this damn lantern piece?” Groaned the dragon girl, she threw her arms in the air, defeated.
“If the walls just didn't move every two seconds, maybe.” Huffed Red Son as he glared at the almost organic walls that circled them.
“I think we might be going in circles.” Sighed the scholar as he huddled closer to the pig.
“Great. We're never going to leave this place.” Groaned Pigsy, he let the bespectacled men come as close as he wanted, perhaps more willing to spoil him when he was hurt.
“I can… maybe do something.” Sighed the macaque as he leaned over a wall, frost growing on the tip of his nose. Sun Wukong glanced at him, eyes falling on his head side (internally whining at the lack of ears, the shadow monkey hid them the second they reunited with the others). Macaque was on the far left of the group, the far end to Wukong, advancing carefully (not as slowly as when he inhaled the smoke, for the sage's relief), hands always trailing the wall, perhaps trying to sense the way they moved and trembled.
“Really!?”Cheerfully asked MK as he turned towards the warrior, his shining eyes cutting against the dark.
“I don't know if it's gonna work.” Mumbled the macaque as he straightened himself.
“Is it dangerous?” Questioned the sage with narrowed eyes, Macaque awkwardly shifted on his feet, something unnoticed by the group but clear like crystal in his eyes.
“It could be? I… I want to call those shadow beasts you mentioned earlier.”
“Why? For them to eat us like snacks?” Huffed the pig with crossed arms.
“… If those beasts recognize me as their, hm, superior, they could help us. I find it strange that they live here, they might have been lured by the lantern in the first place, it was a shadow related artifact, after all.” Carefully explained Macaque.
“Really? I say it's a perfect place for creepy shadow monsters.” Scorned the dragon girl, hand grabbing her sword's handle.
“No. Shadows don't do well in complete darkness, in fact, shadows don't exist in complete darkness. They need light, they crave it.” The warrior glanced at the sage for a second. “Even if it can hurt them. It's a duality for shadow beings, fearing and loving the light.”
“What will happen if those beasts don't recognize you?” Asked Red Son.
“They'll attack us.” Curtly replied Macaque, absolutely certain of the outcome.
“Then it settled. We don't do it.” Cut the sage as he crossed his arms, unwilling to let the shadow monkey waste this much magic when he was already weakened.
“Then do you have another solution?” Huffed the warrior, he turned towards him, eyes narrowed, as if challenging him. Sun Wukong thinned his lips in a curt line, hands fisted in his own hoodie. He held the warrior's gaze, unrelenting, not willing to let the other do something that could endanger everyone, and himself. He was planning on holding it for as long as he could, but his eyes fell, for only one second, on the macaque's lips, and he turned away, cheeks reddened.
“Macaque is not wrong. The compass is kinda useless, it only points in one direction, it doesn't take the damn moving walls in consideration. The Lady Bone Demon really doesn't know what a good GPS is.” Sighed the kid, he glared at the compass while saying this.
“Besides, we can defend ourselves!” Chimed Mei as she brandished her sword, the jade glint of the blade cutting in the dark. Sun Wukong glared at them, but he was cut by the scholar before he could open his mouth.
“Let's vote.” Proposed Tang, ever the peacemaker.
Sun Wukong, Pigsy and Tang voted against the idea, while the kids and Macaque voted in favor. The sage accepted it reluctantly, he tried to approach the warrior and propose some of his magic, but Macaque walked away from him, sitting on the front, perhaps not wanting to accept it while he was watched by others. Sun Wukong sighed, saddened by the other avoidance, but didn't insist, this wasn't the time for feelings.
Macaque sat cross-legged, eyes closed, tail lazily swishing behind him. The sage shivered, he felt the shadows around them thickening, moving, almost as if they were converging towards the macaque. The temperature around them dropped, the already cold cave array becoming more and more chilling. Sun Wukong watched as his breath became almost frigid, as frost nipped at his fur, freezing ginger strands. A howl echoed deep in the cave array, a chilling voice distorted by something unnatural, outworldly.
Soon, they heard steps and growls coming from ahead, numerous paws hitting the floor, breaths mingling in one single song. Beasts emerged, shadowed wolves devoid of solid forms, with eyes made of darkness itself. They stopped a few meters before Macaque, eyeing him warily, pacing as if a barrier separated them from the black furred monkey. Macaque rose from the floor, unbothered by the growls of the wolves.
“Don't take a single step forward.” Warned Macaque as he approached the pack. He was cautious, eyes trained on the wolf at the forefront, the biggest one. He lowered himself, walking on all four, showing his fangs each time the wolves dared to step back. He stood before the biggest wolf, probably the alpha, tail nervously swishing on the floor. The wolves circled him, blocking the other's view. Sun Wukong took a step forward, eyebrows furrowed, ready to pounce if those beasts dared to hurt his moon. He was held back by Pigsy, the chef firmly clutching his sleeve.
“He told ya to wait, didn't he?”Asked the pig.
“But he's circled.” Growled the King.
“Then have faith in him.” Huffed the chef. Sun Wukong scoffed, he took back his sleeve and stayed put, tail thumping angrily on the floor.
Macaque stared at the biggest wolf for a few minutes, eyes boring in the beast. The wolf whimpered, before finally lowering his eyes and crouching down. Macaque carefully touched his forehead, ever so cautious, before letting his claws slide on the shadowed lock of fur.
“Alright. They're not gonna attack us.” Sighed the warrior as he scratched under the alpha chin, the wolf leaned in his palm, his tail swishing in delight.
“Can they help us?”Asked Red Son, the two kids behind them were staring at the wolves with starry eyes, the sage could almost feel their need to pet them. Macaque whispered in the alpha ears, the words incomprehensible for those that didn't dwell with the shadows, the alpha howled, seemingly joyous.
“Hm, They know where the lantern piece is.” Answered the macaque.
“But would they be able to guide us? I mean the moving walls are gonna be a problem, no?” Questioned the scholar as he warily glared at the beasts.
“No, not for them. It's been a few months since they arrived here, they know how the walls move.” Macaque leaned over the alpha as it softly barked in his ears. “I think one of them got stuck in the lantern piece… They're willing to help us if we help them.”
“Seems like a good deal!” Chimed the dragon girl as she put her sword away.
“Are we gonna ride them, that'll be so cool!!” Squealed the kid.
“Kinda weird that they're so gentle with you… They were very hostile when you were not there.” Scoffed the pig with narrowed eyes.
“I mean, I can't blame them. MK and Wukong got sun related powers, Red Son and Mei are fire users and Tang got light based power. You're all a walking danger hazard for shadow beings.” Snickered Macaque. “And yes, we're gonna ride them.”
“Made sense.” Muttered Red Son, they all cautiously approached one wolf and climbed on their back. “Stop clinging to me, peasants. Get your own wolf!”
“But Red, we're a trio!”Whined MK as he clutched the Bull's son.
“And this cutie doesn't seem to mind!”Chimed the dragon girl as she petted the wolf sides, it sneezed, but didn't seem that bothered by their combined weight. Red Son grumbled, but ultimately let them do as they pleased.
Sun Wukong watched as the scholar scrambled on the same wolf as the pig, too afraid to ride one on his own. Sun Wukong chuckled, amused by this, before walking towards one of the wolves, but it fled the moment he stepped towards it.
“You can ride one with me.” Called Macaque as he waved him over. Sun Wukong walked towards him, cautiously watching wolves scrambling away from his path.
“Why are they so afraid?”Asked the sage, he immediately corrected himself, not wanting to be rude. “N-not that I don't want to ride with you. Like, it's whatever, well, n-not whatever, because it sounds like I don't care, and I care! It's not like I don't wanna be with you, it's quite the contrary, you don't bother me at all. I kinda l-like being with you. I'm really cool with that. With you. Riding with you on the wolf, I mean. Not that I don't like being with you when we're not riding on a wolf. I like being with you whenever, wherever... Okay I'm gonna stop talking now… You were saying?” Macaque leveled him with a confused gaze, the sage chuckled nervously, face reddening.
“You're the strongest light here, they're wary.” Explained Macaque, thankfully ignoring his rambling. The sage shut his traitorous mouth and climbed behind Macaque, on the alpha's back. “Put your hands around me or you're gonna fall.”
“Please, I'm the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, I'm not gonna faAAAAAAA.” Sun Wukong tightly clutched Macaque, surprised by the wolf's speed. He hid in the warrior's back, embarrassed by the kids' snickers echoing behind him.
The wolves were fast, running in the darkness without any ounce of doubt, paws hitting the floor in unison. Sun Wukong didn't let go of the warrior's waist, even with the wolf's speed decreasing, in fact, he pressed closer, nose buried in Macaque's neck.
“Getting comfortable back there?” Chuckled Macaque as he leaned lower on the wolf, the sage followed him, leaning with him.
“Hm, yeah, it's really comfortable.” Happily muttered the sage as he inhaled the other's scent, slightly nuzzling him.
The wolves jumped in one of the suddenly appearing holes, falling in the darkness without fear. The scholar screeched like his life depended on it while the kids hollored in joy, Sun Wukong only pressed himself closer to the warrior, greatly enjoying the ride (and the scent). He almost whined when the wolves stopped running, reluctant to let the warrior go.
They were in a crystal filled cave, bluish light piercing the four corners of the place. A sapphire-blue river was cutting the place in half, waves echoing in the deep silence. The wolves and cubs that didn't know them were quite surprised by their arrival, they stood, hiding the cubs, growing menacingly. They calmed down once they spotted their alpha, and let Macaque approach the river. The black furred monkey crouched down in front of the river and plunged one hand in it, he pulled out a piece of burgundy wood from it.
“Victory!!” Cheered the kids as they petted the wolf that carried them.
Macaque eyed the piece of wood quietly, before using some of his magic on it. The piece glowed eerily, emitting an odd purplish light, Macaque handled it a little, his own eyes glowing. A wolf was pushed out of the piece, it stumbled on the floor, shaking like a newborn, scared to its very soul. The pack immediately ran towards it, lovingly nuzzling the shaking beast.
“It shouldn't have enough power to trap someone, it's broken.” Stated Red Son with a curious glint in his eyes.
“Shadow beings are more sensitive to shadow magic.” Explained Macaque.
“Finally, it's over.” Sighed the pig.
“Awe, they're one big happy family!” Cooed the dragon girl as she tried to take some pictures, she whined when she realized the wolves looked blurry on her phone, shapes not defined.
“So now we can get back!” Celebrated Tang with a relieved sigh.
“They can give us a ride back.” Informed Macaque as he tried to reassure the shaking wolf, scratching under his chin and even giving him a few belly rubs when it rolled on his back. Sun Wukong gasped, glaring at the wolf, tail swishing angrily. How dare this wolf receive belly rubs when he had none for months!? If anyone was worthy of receiving Macaque's belly rubs, it was him, he had been really good these last few months–Sun Wukong groaned, embarrassed by his own trail of thoughts, and stilled his swishing tail. He admitted he missed the warrior's belly scratches, but he shouldn't be upset at a wolf because of it. He was becoming so desperate for attention, he should get a hold of himself.
Sun Wukong jumped behind Macaque on the alpha's back without question, readily nuzzling him. The warrior shuddered, perhaps caught off guard by his cuddling, but let him do as he pleased. The sage closed his eyes, pressing as close as he could, his tail taking the shape of a heart without his knowledge.
They all hissed when they stepped outside of the cave, caught off guard by the sunlight. The kids petted their wolf like tragic main leads on the verge of losing their significant other (the wolf looked quite unbothered by it all) while the two noodle-lovers scrambled away from theirs like it was infected by the plague. Macaque stepped back from the alpha, Sun Wukong following him, and petted it a little before letting it return to the deep dark.
The group dusted themselves off, shivering because of the snow, and began to joyously make their way towards the airship. Macaque toyed with the piece of wood, before giving it to Red Son, who wanted to observe it. Sun Wukong watched the warrior from the corner of his eyes as he played nervously with the tip of his fingers, his gaze helplessly following the other. His mind still fixed on what transpired in the cave, no matter what he tried, he couldn't shake the image out of his head. And now that he wasn't focused on getting the lantern piece, he was even more overwhelmed by it.
They collectively sighed in relief when they spotted the airship in the deep white. The kids, plus Red Son, ran on it, eager to shake off the cold. Pigsy and Tang quickly followed them, both muttering about noodles. The two monkeys were left behind, both slowly climbing on the airship. Macaque reached for him before he could flee in his room to calm his frying nerves.
“Hey, Wukong…See you later?” Nervously asked Macaque as he rubbed both of his arms, his breath still coming in white puff. The sage gulped, heart beating like crazy inside of his chest.
“Yeah, hm I… I'm… I have to check on Sock… let's talk later, okay?” It's not like he didn't want to sort things out between them, but he didn't think he was ready to have this talk, not while his feelings were tangled in an impossible knot.
“Okay…” Muttered the warrior, he waved goodbye and ran inside of the airship, eager to escape the chilling winds roaming around them.
Sun Wukong watched him leave, unable to turn away, before walking towards his room, heart leaping out of his chest, tail wagging widely, hitting the walls.
“Hey Boss, we heard you coming back!” Greeted one of his clones, Sock safely tucked in his arms. Sun Wukong turned towards him, face almost entirely flushed.
“Wow, you're okay ?”Asked another clone as he leaned over the one holding Sock, cooing at the lil lady when she looked up at him.
Sun Wukong blinked, taking them in, before quickly taking two of his clones by the arms (he grabbed the last one with his tail) and dragging them to his room. He pushed them inside and quickly closed his door, sliding on the floor once he turned towards them.
“Okay. That was weird.” Mumbled the clone holding Sock, he carefully put the lil sage on the King's bed, leaving her with a few nuzzles.
“Yeah. We were having a nice talk with Sandy about your awkward teenager ye-” The clone on the far left quickly slammed his paw on his peer mouth.
“We were talking about cat things.” Corrected the clone shutting the other up.
“Anyway, what's this about? Did you get the lantern piece?”Asked the last clone, hands on his hips.
“Y-yeah, we did it.” Muttered the sage.
“That's cool. Why do you look like you're about to explode then?” Asked the clone in the middle, he licked the paw of the clone shutting him up to free himself.
“Eww, you're disgusting.” Groaned the clone on the left, he wiped off his paw on the middle clone’s shirt.
“Don't do that.” Muttered the clone in the middle with a scrunched up face.
“It's yours, my guy.” Snickered the clone on the left.
“I hate you.” Huffed the clone in the middle.
“I'm you, dimwit.”Replied the clone on the left.
“ANYWAY. What happened, Boss?” Questioned the clone on the right.
“I kissed Macaque.” Mumbled Sun Wukong, ears pinned back in embarrassment.
The three clones stopped talking, looking at him with wide eyes. The one in the middle opened his mouth in surprise, the one in the left closed it for him.
“Like… metaphorically?” Questioned the clone on the right.
“I kissed him! Like for real!” Wailed the sage.
“Oh my Gods!!! A miracle!” Cheered the clone in the middle.
“How did this happen-” But the clone on the right was cut by the one on the left.
“Was it good!?”
“It was fucking fantastic!” Replied Sun Wukong, his own tail thumping against the door.
“Oh my Gods!!!!” Squealed the clone in the middle, he took Sock in his arms and twirled her around in joy. She meowed, surprised, and pawed at the clone curiously.
“Why do you look so panicked though? It's good news!” Cheered the clone on the right, he took Sock from the one twirling her around and carefully put her down.
“Is it!?” Cried the sage as he hid in his hands, the clones stopped moving around and turned towards him with raised eyebrows.
“What do you mean? It's a kiss from Macaque, MACAQUE!” Yelled the clone on the left.
“But…he's our friend.” Muttered Sun Wukong. “And what if he doesn't really want anything?? I mean, I liked the kiss, you know but… I don't know… Was it just because of the mood? Do I even want something??”
“Okay, okay, calm down.” Whispered the clone on the right, he crouched down and sat beside the sage, softly bumping him with his shoulder. “We love Macaque, no?” The two other clones also sat down, circling the sage.
“Yeah. We always loved the guy. We loved him when he was Liu'er. We love him now that he's Macaque. Sooo… it’s good, right?” Cheered another clone.
“You kiiiiisssssed him, you charmer.” Snickered the last one, he playfully shaked the sage, making him smile a bit.
“Yeah, yeah. It was good.” Chuckled Sun Wukong, he pushed the teasing clone away, a bit embarrassed. “But… I loved him for so long, I just…never thought I had a chance, especially after everything.”
“Hm, yeah, fair I guess.” Muttered the clone on the right. “What do you want to do?”
“I don't really know… I never even loved anyone else, so it's not like I have experience.” Sighed the great sage, he put his head against the door, eyes lost on the ceiling.
“True… but like, think about it, wouldn't it be nice?” Dreamly whispered another clone.
“Just imagine… you walk with him on the deck at twilight, there is no one else, you both gaze tenderly at each other, you cup his cheeks and he leans on your palm, and then you both kiss. Sounds nice.” Whispered another clone.
“That's so corny.” Snickered the sage, one of the clones gasped in outrage at that. “But, well, I wouldn't mind kissing him again.”
“Well, I think you should talk about it with him.” Advised the clone on the right.
“Yep. You can also ask the others if you wanna know more about love. Sandy always has sound advice.” Added another clone.
“Yeah, you're right. Thanks guys.”
“Anytime, Boss.”
“Good luck!”
“ Go get him, tiger!” Sun Wukong blushed, he made the clones disappear with a flick of wrist and left the floor.
The sage crumbled on his sheet, tired by everything that happened. Sock curiously climbed him, settling on his chest with ease, pawing at his shirt.
“You think he'd agree to kiss me again?”Mumbled the sage as he petted his lil bud, Sock meowed and leaned in his palms. “If I was as adorable as you he would drown me in kisses.” Chuckled the King as he tugged the cat higher and kissed her silly snout.

Hii! So I found you're Cursed Lmk AU and I love it! The whole family dynamic everyone has is just so wholesome! I especially love You're Wukong! I have some questions if you dont mind! With Ao Lis human design are you going to change you're own style and character of him? What exactly is Wukongs relationship dynamic with everyone? What do they think of him? It sometimes feels like they like him but still keep a distance. Does he get along with The silver and Gold demon? Could you tell us a bit more about your version of Tang Shanzang? Sorry It's a lot of questions! You don't have to answer if you don't want to!
I'm glad people still enjoy that AU! Even if I haven't updated it in a while because I've been busy with irl stuff
I did redesign my version of Ao Lie for this AU, you can see him here, and I did say in a different post that I was going to try my best to mix the idea I had of him with how he really is in the show, but chances are he's going to be very OOC at least 70% of the times.
Wukong's dynamic with everyone else doesn't exactly change. After season 3 most of MK's friends weren't too happy with Monkey King because of all the lying he did. But after a while, Mei did give him the benefit of the doubt, if only to make MK happy and the two did eventually develop a genuine friendship with a small side of competitiveness.
Wukong is the one who tries to keep his distance from everyone else, but at this point, they are all wise to that and include him in a few activities.
The twins and Wukong's relationship is a bit complicated and tricky. The Monkey King doesn't like them much, but only because they attacked MK. Meanwhile, Jin and Yin, really hate the guy since he killed their mother way back in JTTW. So y'know, if it wasn't for their past, maybe they could have gotten along seeing how chaotic all three of them are.
I don't really have a personal version of the Tang Monk, per se. I rarely talk about him, especially in this AU.

I was reluctant to dive into bone king au (considering I am just getting into monkey dramq/comedy the cartoon) but I did and now I can't escape. Do you think once Macaque is free, he might get nightmares? And will his dynamics with the MK crew change afterwards? Also, how long before he can look at swk without bolting?
oh man macaques life is nothing but nightmares in this au, even after BK. he definitely gets nightmares theyre probably of just.... wandering the foggy hallways of the temple, waiting for BK to turn up. thats probably one of his big fears after everything is over, the anticipation- waiting for the other shoe to drop. he has a very specific way of making a big pile of blankets into a nest for himself to sit in because he wants to be warm at all times, but also he cant handle anything touching or obstructing his ears.
macaque does get on with sandy pretty well afterwards, because hes staying on his boat. and sandy understands that when maq gets nasty and snappy its because, well, this is the first time maqs been able to control anything about his life in months, so obviously he starts lashing out just to see whether anyones going to punish him for it. sandys not going to let him get away with being cruel to the others but hes also aware that maqs processing a lot of trauma right now, so he tends to sit quietly next to maq until hes calmed down. maq did run away a few times, into the city (of course he does, he needs to feel like he has some control over his life) but he does come back again.
its gonna take a while till he can be around swk but maqs not stupid, he knows it wasnt swk that did this to him even if it feels like it was. macaque really thinks, though, that the reason the bone king treated him so badly is because swk hates him that much. hes kind of under the impression that swk wishes he could do those things to him but is too morally good to do them, when that isnt the case at all. (swk would love to explain this to him but, swk also has trouble being around anyone right now, let alone macaque)

Something I love abt the venompeach dynamic that I don’t see a lot of people talk abt is that Spider Queen is, essentially, in a really terrible romantic comedy.
Like, Sun Wukong is not just Sun Wukong, his is The Monkey King: Great Sage Equal to Heaven, and that MEANS something. Multiple things; even. Now youd think that would be the part of their relationship that’s difficult (using the term “celebrity” for Sun Wukong doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of it like DAMN) but it… actually doesn’t? SQ OOZES confidence in everything she does; she’s never going to go through an “am I good enough for you?” phase because she KNOWS she is- she’s not a college-aged ball of nerves, she’s the fucking SPIDER QUEEN, she knows she’s good enough, it’s never even a question that crosses her mind. She is literally too old for that kind of shit.
Okay, so first obstacle cleared (even though she didn’t know it was one) and now we get to the Actual Hard Parts.
Sun Wukong has a son. Okay, that’s…. Not optimal. She doesn’t hate kids (the fact he’s Not A Kid is lost on her) but she’s got super limited child-rearing knowledge; she’s basically only ever handled her own eggs before, and that doesn’t help because this isn’t even her kid, this is her Potential Stepson, who she needs to have a relationship with if she wants even a chance of anything working out between her and Wukong.
Which leads to the next obstacle: her would-be stepson is TERRIFIED OF SPIDERS on a damn near atomic level so AT BEST, their interactions are unbearably awkward, and at WORST MK is shrieking in fear or trying to convince her man she’s pure evil (and maybe he’s a little correct but come on, kid, she’s TRYING).
Okay. So she’s dating The Great Sage, she’s had one (1) awkward heart-to-heart with her would-be stepson, things are going terrible great.
Enter Macaque.
Macaque and Sun Wukong have known eachother since before his journey, have a LOT of shared history, may or may not have an on-again off-again relationship that nobody can prove, and while the kid ALSO doesn’t like Macaque, he’s also not going to shriek every time he gets too close.
And sure, Sun Wukong doesn’t have any intention to go back to Macaque, SQ would never waste her time with him if he was, but that doesn’t mean that Macaque isn’t REALLY FUCKING GOOD at making her look bad and poking at any and all weaknesses in their relationship he can find.
And say what you want about Macaque, but the man has a gift for puppetry and manipulation. (And worst comes to worst, kidnapping).
That's not counting: Sun Wukong's horrible coping methods and need for therapy, a certain video game that makes you question some other relationships, her stepson's need for therapy, and Spider Queen's own need for therapy.
Lady has a lot to conquer.

Which character from Monkie Kid is your favorite?
Impossible question. It really depends on the day. some days I think about some characters more than others, and more often than not its usually the dynamics between characters rather than specific characters. I do create more content for Pigsy, Monkey King and Mk I think so that probably says a lot lol, but also like, I can't write Mk without Mei, or Red Son without Mk and Mei, or Pigsy without Mk and Tang, or Monkey King without Mk, just feels like they're not complete without certain other caracters y'know? Can't just think about one character without thinking of the others so picking a favourite is darn near impossible. I love the dynamics too much hGLSK;JFDD
#knox rambles#asks#pearl484 blog#monkie kid#I do like adore monkey king but i don't know if that's because i like monkie kid's version of him or because i was reading and watcing stuf#about him before monkie kid so i just get serotonin from seeing him#i am indecisive can you tell?

Now I'm curious to see how you would answer the other anon ask if you were talking specifically about Wukong in xReader fics
This is probably just me, but I get the vibe Wukong wouldn't just hang out with a human (let alone date one) on a simple whim, he has to get something out of it. Low-key, there is a reason why Wukong starts meeting with the reader character, since it's after the Macaque fight, Wukong's realizing maybe he doesn't quite get humans as well as he thinks he does and it would be a decent learning experience. (Along with the fact that it's the reader character that suggests hanging out, not him. It's an opportunity presenting itself.) Wukong catching feelings would not be on his radar at all.
In terms of romance after that, interesting dynamics or conflicts could come from it:
The huge age gap along but mainly his immortality being very much a thing and how death is inevitable.
How Wukong's successor affects the city and if that affects the reader on a more personal level if they live in the city.
Feeling the weight of his legacy, he's a legend with insane popularity. How can one be considered his equal as a partner despite having none of that?
Monkey King has a lot of enemies, MK is already dragged into it, what's stopping the same from happening to the reader character?

For the character ask think I would like to ask about DBK or MK, if that's alright!
I cannot choose one so you get both!
DBK:
favorite thing about them: This is kinda hard to put into words but I just. Really love how his character changes throughout the seasons I love how while he's still short-tempered and stuff he's also kinda chill and me just thinks he's p cool c:
least favorite thing about them: His treatment of Red Son in the start like bro be nice to your son - but that also peeves me because. In jttw the demon bull family is so loving they're so cute and even in the chinese dub of the show him and pif are NOT as mean to their son and it makes me >:(( Glad to see he's better in s3 tho I love a husband and father <3
favorite line: "Useless offspring..." 2 seconds later "I didn't doubt him for a second!" (That scene just. made me laugh so hard the first time the timing is SO well done bHSDHDH)
brOTP: HIM AND SUN WUKONG they're buddies in jttw I want them to be buddies in monkie kid too THEY HAVE SUCH A FUN DYNAMIC BRO
OTP: Of course it's princess iron fan this man loves his wife so much he's so married
nOTP: I mean aside from obvious gross ones no one rlly? Again he's super married I don't think people ship him with anyone else hbshdgs
random headcanon: Has a collection of regular ass mugs they're so small in comparison to him but he does not care
unpopular opinion: idk if this is unpopular but I think he's a bit underappreciated. He's a fun villain and his design is SO cool - I dunno I feel like he gets a bit overshadowed sometimes
song i associate with them: I've not really thought abt this at all I don't know but now I want to find some
favorite picture of them: When you when the when when you when
Qi Xiaotian
favorite thing about them: WHERE DO I EVEN STAAART he's a very classic goofy protagonist type, but he's so delightful and I love that while he's silly and stuff he's not an idiot and won't hesitate to get serious, he feels very real. He's just a really good dude I love him so much bro that's my SON
least favorite thing about them: I can't really think about anything, even things that peeve me are things I appreciate because it makes sense for his character and stuff ya know
favorite line: SO MANY GOOD ONES IT'S VERY HARD TO PICK but one of my favs is the "Ugh I'm so stupid! OHH I've got mOnkEy kiNg pOwErs, I tHink I'll be fiNe"
brOTP: HIM AND XIAOJIAO 100% your honor they're besties. Their dynamic is everything they're so sweet I love how much their care for each other. I'm keeping this spoiler free but god. s3 man. They had so many good moments
OTP: I'm not super big on the shipping side of lmk I don't have many strong opinions or care too much, but spicynoodles is cute c:
nOTP: Obvious gross ones don't be a freak. Also wouldn't call it a notp cuz I don't mind it at all, but I prefer him and Xiaojiao as platonic
random headcanon: Transmasc Xiaotian so true <3 Also one Kat introduced to moi is him not being 100% human and I am very much here for at least half demon xiaotian. Also(2) methinks he has a lot of bottled up frustration
unpopular opinion: Again dunno if this is unpopular but I prefer his chinese nickname SOO much more than mk I'm really sad they changed his and Xiajiao's names for the eng dub :( "Qi Xiaotian" being derived from Wukong's "great sage equal to heaven" title is literally so neat I love it so much
song i associate with them: Six feet - Patent Pending
favorite picture of them: I litrerally have so many especially from s3 but I'm keeping this spoiler free so have one of my all time favs from the s2 special hES JUST A LITTLE GUY.
#asks#monkie kid#THANK YOU FORT HE CHARACTERSS THIS WAS FUN!!#dbk isn't a character I think abt a lot it was rlly fun to write things for him#lego monkie kid

lego monkie kid.... good show (hypnotizes you to check out a clip or smth)
- nods and includes sun wukong (aka Monkie King) and alludes to his whole Journey to the West tale! win! isn’t it fun in lego. legos. monkey lego.
- rlly good animation. like I think (?) same studio as the ones on rottmnt and I love love love it gorgeous to look it, especially when working with legos.
- good characters! Like its a good action heavy cartoon with ur main character (MK, who is a noodle delivery guy with a lot of pep) , but the side characters don’t feel shelled out, u can connect a few dots. Also you got antiheroes and pathetic cringe fail characters what more could u ask for.
- I actually rlly like the humor. this is subjective. Idk what’s your humor
- WWOOO BABY MENTOR-STUDENT DYNAMICS. how I've missed it. especially as one of the main prospects of the show itself especially and it can be expandable if u like taking media and expanding on concepts. found family is so nice.
- its just so enjoyable I've enjoyed it so much if u talk to me about it I will explode.

SO! I want to rant about my Traffic Light Swap universe, with cute little headcanons and general stuff.
As a general note, in the swap light universes all the characters have the same core personalities, they’ve just traded places with their canon counterparts! (Meaning that A lot of the canon events change in episodes and dynamics are different as well!)
Yellow Light Verse!
• This is the universe where Mei is the Monkie Kid, Green Son is part of the dragon family, and MK is the Red Son of the DBK.
• MK Mei is pretty similar to her counterpart! Adventurous, bubbly and excitable, however without her inherent “Dragon Ancestry” she tends to bite off more than she can chew.
• She tends to think with her heart and not her brain/guts.
• Green and Mei are BFFS (even though Green will grumpily deny it).
• Green Son is a lot like his counterpart as well, except he has more freedom to express himself and because of those freedoms has the least amount of anger issues between his counterparts.
• Green Son is a bit of an adrenaline junkie, he finally gets an outlet for a lot of his anger through inventing whatever he wants and racing (his ego and winning streak are huge. )
• Mei is a very good influence on Green, he can’t be as risky or destructive as he wants because he has to be the voice of reason between the two.
• Mei and Green bond over building things, sparring, and seeing how much “legal” trouble they can get into before getting caught.
• Green and Mei are just butt heads constantly, because they are both very smart and incredibly stubborn, but always have each other’s back no matter what.
• Monkey King chose Mei because of how fearless and risky she can be, with a heart of gold, they have a pretty good relationship (Though, she is the weakest of the Monkie Kid iterations).
• MK Red Son is definitely the worst villain ever. He tries really hard, he fights Mei and Green twice as much as his counters! But, no matter the counterpart, MK doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He can’t go all out or be needlessly cruel just for the sake of being mean, it makes him feel unbelievably guilty.
• He’s also still a Monkey King fan boy to an extent (but don’t tell his parents).
• He is the least favorite of IPF and DBK’s swaps, no matter what he does to make them proud, they look down on him for being a soft and unable to be truly evil.
• That’s not to say he couldn’t do serious damage, but the drive isn’t there.
• IPF likes to trip MK because he wears heels (that he uses to compensate for being such a small demon.)
• The more Green Son and Mei fight him, the more they start to feel kind of bad for having to beat him. Because for all his bluster and trash talk, they can kind of tell he pulls back when there’s serious damage he could inflict on both of them.
• (Later on in the series, Mei and Green are trying to figure out how to get him away from his parents without having to level the whole city.)
Red Light Verse!
• This is the universe where Red is the Monkie Kid, MK is part of the dragon family, and Mei is the Red Daughter of the DBK.
• MK Red is a very “interesting” Monkie Kid.
• It’s funny because this version of Red is actually the one who struggles with his anger issues the most. He has a very bad habit of shoving all his anger down in an unhealthy way, without any real outlet. He’s trying to get a handle on it, because he genuinely loves his found family and the life he leads.
• It’s considered a miracle if he can go one week without attempting to fight someone at Pigsy’s on the job. (Pigsy also can’t say shit, because his temper is just as bad).
• Green MK is his BFF!
• MK is a bit more reserved in this universe. It’s also a lot more difficult to make him angry, but very easy to make him upset. (If you manage to make him angry you need to run as fast as humanly possible).
• MK is Red’s rock, one of the only people that can talk Red down from his “moods”. Red is Mk’s security, he reminds MK that his is loved and valued no matter what.
• They bond over racing (Red helps MK out with his bike and MK takes Red on rides around the city), adventuring around the city, and video games.
• MK has been trying to teach Red yoga.
• Monkey King chose Red because he reminds him of himself in his rebellious phase, he knows if he can curve most of the kids urges into being productive, he’ll make an amazing successor. ( He also sees the softer moments between Red and his friends and it really endears him).
• Monkey King and Red have a very funny relationship. Monkey King likes to push Red’s buttons and Red is constantly questioning his teaching. (Which yes, includes sparring, but also a lot more “inner peace” type of practices).
• Red is still a bit unsure about taking the Monkie Kid role, but damn does hitting bad guys offer a great outlet for all his pent up rage.
• Red Daughter is the scariest villain out of all the counters, seriously.
• Not only is she extremely competent she is also incredibly intelligent and is pretty self-confident.
• She would definitely be the favorite child of IFP and DBK.
• Red Mei is kind of a daddy’s girl too.
• Going toe-to-toe with Mei is always a struggle for Red and MK, especially after Monkey King seals off Red’s powers, she is very ruthless and has the upper hand with experience.
• She’ll do whatever it takes to make sure her family is never separated ever again.
• (MK and Red get together after the calabash episode)
#monkie kid#lego monkie kid#lmk#traffic light swap#this isn't as much detail as I'd like but it's the general canon#spicynoodles gets to be canon in my au#unless you don't like it then just kind of disregard that lol

Hello! Sorry to send you this without any art, but I am curious to know something. You know of the quote "it's rotten work" and it's variations, right? May I introduce you to mine: "It's rotten work. Especially if it's me. Especially to you. But dear god, I'll fucking do it."
What do you think it says to you?
Also, do you think that upon reflection from the mountain screaming match, whenever Macaque actually makes SWK actually, truly angry in an argument, instead of screaming back, he just shuts his mouth and goes quiet instead, giving Macaque the silent treatment by avoiding him and avoiding talking to him, not to punish him, but so that he wouldn't accidentally say anything to start a worse fight? Like, "I'm super pissed at you (and also about something else) but I don't want to take it out on you so I'm just not going to acknowledge you until I cool down enough". He won't obviously leave the room if Macaque's around, he just won't respond to him. How do you think Macaque is gonna react to that new response? Might be OOC for SWK, but please indulge me in this anyway.
Have a good month! Might start doing sketches of Júhua again soon.
hey! dw it’s totally fine for you to send me asks whenever or whatever, art or not, I love receiving asks anyways 🥰
“It's rotten work. Especially if it's me. Especially to you. But dear god, I'll fucking do it."
ngl this is one of my favorite variations of the original quote simply because it fits a lot of my favorite ship dynamics 😂 mostly because to me, it means “I love you. I want to cherish you as you deserve, but dear lord will it take some work! But if it’s for you, I’ll do it.” (this is why I love merthur, thiam, and shadowpeach)
[long answer under the cut]
in the context of shadowpeach, I can see this quote working for both Sun Wukong and Macaroni post-s4 where they are willing to try and rekindle something from their past. to me, the past seasons were mostly the two of them not giving at all: Marconi was upset and bitter and vengeful while Wukong viewed Macaroon as a hinderance and just another past friend who wants his head and chose projecting his issues onto MK as a nice alternative (I’m sure Wukong was deeply hurt by Mac’s desire to kill or harm him, but ngl Monkey King’s gif a hard shell to crack, so outward appearance is simply annoyance and distain. which is ironic given that it’s Mac is the most stand-offish compared to Wukong’s friendliness but we aren’t here to talk about that and I need to stay on track)
but then we get to the s4 special, and it’s at this point where swk had (most likely) been running through his past memories and being met with all his past regrets and mistakes. he is literally being forced to face through issues this monkey has spent over centuries burying, trying to forget, and trying to forgive himself for. funny how in his attempt to escape death (which he succeeded. 7 times over), Wukong found a new thing to run from :3 ahaha, how hilarious 🫠
meanwhile, we got Macadoo, newly reformed and possible 2nd mentor to MK post-s3. given what was shown in the show in s3 finale and 4x09, Mac has kept to himself. it’s possible he’s been freeloading off of FFM without Sun Wukong’s knowledge (would not be surprised lol) and keeping a safe distance from danger whilst staying close enough to be there if needed (which is funny bc tho Mac acts like he doesn’t want to help or be there, it’s very clear he stayed to be like a last resort for MK)
however, reformed he may be, Macky still finds it in himself to take a stab at Wukong. though we didn’t see him do it to swk at the s4 finale, i wouldn’t put it past him doing the same thing in later episodes. by the end of s4, it is clear that both monkeys want to try and have some kind of truce, but both are still hurt by the other. unfortunately, while Wukong had plenty of centuries to process his pain and move on, Mac hasn’t (because death, then revenge post-resurrection as you do). frankly, i have a feeling that Macackle’s “processing phase” (for some reason idk what else to call it) began post-s3 bc he had time in his hands now. time to really sit down and think.
that being said, Mac only had about a year or so of time to really process his anger and broken relationship with Wukong (and other traumatic shit like LBD and dying and no longer being dead), so he might still find it in himself to lash out or poke the beat that is Wukong since them no longer being at odds is weird and scary and too dangerous for him.
meanwhile, you have Wukong who wants to try and rekindle the old friendship or be able to forgive himself for how his past self treated their old relationship. he has already gone through a journey on how to better control his anger and grudges. not to mention he spent 500 years isolated from everybody, so his past reaction to retaliate is more subdued. also, he did promise MK that he would be a better mentor: be more honest, be more present, be supportive of MK & who he is friends with (aka, Macncheese)
so, yeah, I can see Wukong being the one to hold back from lashing back at Marconi if the guy did try and push his buttons. and I absolutely see how he fits as the speaker for that quote in the coming season with the potential of him repeating it like a mantra while Mackerel is macscheming ways to infuriate him further in an episode
#sometimes i wonder if misspelling macdonald’s name takes away from the metas i write about him#but i can’t help myself bc it’s fun and i am committed to the bit#lmk#lego monkie kid#monkie kid#lmk six eared macaque#lmk macaque#six eared macaque#macaque#lmk sun wukong#sun wukong#shadowpeach
