January - Happy Birthday, Boris Habit | My first art of the year felt most fitting for the year review. I'm really proud of how the cake came out c: February - You know, like nya | I just love silly happy moments with characters who don't get too many in their actual stories ;w; Also a pic of romantic partners is very fitting for February hehe. March - Satisfaction in Stone | The marble texturing may have been a stock image overlay, but I still really like how I made the shading interact with it :D April - Love, love, love! | There's just something beautiful when friends can impart inspiration on each other c: May - Nail and Cannon | For only my second time drawing Samus in her full power armor, she came out splendid! The background turned out great too! June - Crown Jewel of Paldea | Namesake references + playing around with color effects + blue fire = fun for meeeeee :D July - Within the Black Tomb | Focused hard on Art Fight this month so I didn't have much personal art to put in here. 28. What's a conversation they'd get overly invested in that nobody else would care about?

Jaheira, particularly in those early days when she's with Khalid, is capable of having very heated discussions with anyone who will listen about nature, its general superiority over city and civilization, and lots of details about plants, animals, and wilderness survival. Most people she corners with this information are not particularly interested - with the exception of Khalid who listens with enthusiastic heart-eyes at all times.

4. Do they have the same love language as each other?

Hm. Despite how different they are in a lot of ways, I think the answer is more or less yes here. Neither of them are very accomplished at speaking their feelings out loud, and both are much more likely to show their affection with gifts, gestures, and acts supporting each other. And they're both very physically affectionate as well, although I think Khalid is maybe more inclined to PDA than Jaheira, who is more likely to initiate a cuddle without onlookers.

24. What's something that one of them loves, but the other hates?

Hm this is a tough one. Is it a cop-out to say that I feel like the two of them are really in sync for the most part?

Here's a feelsy potential answer. :P Khalid's family was basically dicks to him when he was a kid, top to bottom. Khalid, however, if asked his opinion, would definitely hedge an answer about how of course he still loves them because they are his family, despite how they've treated him. Jaheira, meanwhile, knows the full story and has needed to be held back on the one occasion when she met his family directly.

34. What's something that makes them proud of each other?

By the time Jaheira and Rasaad get together, both of them have been through a LOT of very painful shit. I think either of them would be the first to say that they are proud of the other for still standing up straight and facing the world and trying to do good in it. (And both of them would also downplay their own accomplishments. XD )

48. If they swapped bodies, how would they handle it?

LMAO. Hm. Uh. 🤔Can't say I've given this one any thought before.

Honestly I think both of them would be fairly uncomfortable right away. Jaheira in particular likes feeling in tune with her body and in control of it, and being placed in a different "container" that she didn't understand would be really unsettling. Rasaad would also be unnerved but I think also a little fascinated by all the minor details and differences between them and subtle differences in perspective.

Part of me jokingly wants to say they'd give sex a try just for the Unique Experience before figuring out how to swap back but honestly I think Jaheira would be so massively weirded out that fixing the situation would immediately become priority one.

36. What is a gift one would give to the other?

Trying to come up with something new for this that we haven't talked about before. XD

I think Jaheira, being a wilderness type, is probably good at crafting that involves natural materials, such as leatherworking. (She doesn't tend to do more hunting than is necessary for survival, but she makes a point of using every part of any animal she does hunt, or any killed by predators that they come across.)

After she and Rasaad have been together a while, she fashions him a deerskin cloak with a hood to help keep his bare head covered in bad weather. He places tremendous value on this gift and keeps it in pristine condition right up until the day he dies. It is one of several keepsakes of his that are now kept in Rion's room in a place of safety.

Hm. Caden is by nature a bit of a prankster, going back to his days in Candlekeep with Imoen, where the two of them drove everyone batty by picking pockets (giving everything back afterwards of course) and causing general mayhem. He's mellowed on this over the years but does still enjoy wreaking a bit of harmless havoc. (I could see him doing that prank where someone went to their friend's house and hid a bunch of toy ducks everywhere. :P )

Aerie by contrast is VERY earnest. She won't stop Caden in his playful scheming but I don't think she ever gets involved, and is very attentive to be sure nothing's ever going to get out of hand.

41. If they had to spend a month apart, how would they fare?

Badly, lol. Caden is a big ol' sap and, frankly, a bit traumatized by the time Aerie got kidnapped away from him and then (temporarily) killed. I don't think them being apart is something he finds particularly comfortable for long periods.

Aerie has also gotten a lot braver and more confident over the years, but she doesn't enjoy being apart from him either - for similar reasons.

13. Who is a better dancer?

I think both of them are very bad dancers. XD The Avariel are graceful by nature but mostly in the air; Aerie always feels a little bit ungainly doing things on the ground. And Caden has never really had a chance to learn anything about dancing. If there's music, the two of them might do the good old hug-and-sway, though. XD

Hi! I appreciate your apology on the whole CATS thing! It shows a lot of maturity. And to be fair, the CATS 2019 movie is not well liked by even the CATS fans. XD. It has it's fans to be fair, but it's definitely not representative of the show.

Something with CATS is- it has a plot, but it is pretty thin. Really the Vibes are what is important. The plot is more an excuse to get a bunch of talented dancers/singers together to put on a spectacle. But it’s also a great sandbox to pull from. Because relationships are basically undefined- a lot of the fun is creating your own story and dynamics! Sometimes it’s as small as a look, other times it's “Character A sings a long ode about how wonderful B is”.

So I’d say don’t go in expecting a story- it tends to develop with your own headcanons and stuff! Obviously no pressure, but I appreciate your willingness to learn!

Three Houses Pre-Timeskip Thoughts!

-I understand why everyone is so crazy over Ashe now. He's an absolute bean. The game (and Hopes, too) really like to trash his feelings, though. :')

(Also it was stuck in my head while I was thinking about lots of broody Rufus stories while in the shower XD)

-Tea time is probably the most stressful part of the entire game XD "If you don't know the exact time to nod or sigh you will ruin your student's birthday party"

-The academy phase is very very long when you're trying to recruit absolutely everybody possible. Maybe subsequent play-throughs would be less thorough and hence faster, but I don't know, man, I feel like not having an option to split off later in the game damages the game's replay value. ...And I think replaying is half of the game's point, so that's not super great. Anyways. Little actual review there.

-Speaking of recruiting, Ferdinand put me through PURGATORY trying to recruit him, I sacrificed an entire field's worth of flowers to him and he still didn't come over. RIP. (I didn't end up getting Caspar, either :'])

-As of right now, I'm probably gonna end up marrying Hilda, because her hair looks like candy floss and I find that very pretty

-I was aware of the existence of most of the chapter battles, but I didn't know there was an actual playable battle before the attack on Garreg Mach cutscene! It was very intense, and the music matched! :0 Dimitri died. (And have I mentioned that Robbie Daymond is a good voice actor? Well he is. His low soft sad retreating tones got to my Hubert loving heart)

I wrote this weeks ago and forgot to post it, oops. uAu March was hard with work and con preparation so I didn't read much. I thought it'd get better afterwards buuut ... it's even worse now. xD Oh well. That's for later! Here's what I read in March:

The School for Invisible Boys (The Kairos Files 1) (Shaun David Hutchinson): It's been a while since I last read something by this author. Missed it! Though, this one is middle grade, so it felt a little different. A little less strange. Like, for once, the monster is an actual one instead of just a metaphor (not that it isn't connected to one. I also wonder if that whole Catholic setting is intentional because the Catholic Church and young boys don't have the best history together ��). So, yeah, I like his other stories better, but this one was pretty good as well. I really liked the main character, because while he was timid of some sort, he also was easily brave and bold when he had to (that whole "he was mean to me, so I set his project on fire" is obviously not something to encourage in real life, but it is badass and I have respect for it in a a story xD), and he was able to apologise when he realised he made a mistake. I wonder what the next volume will be about.

Gallowgate (K.R. Alexander): So apparently, 'gay boys and ghosts' is a thing I'm into. The other two series I read, Oracle of Senders and Sixteen Souls, I like better, but this one is also middle grade while the other aren't, so they're not that easy to compare. Gallowgate starts out really dark, like really dark. Poor kid. It gets more whimsical afterwards with the school being run by ghosts and a general morbid decoration of which I've never been a fan, but most kids probably eat this up. Some story decisions are a bit questionable in my eyes like when the adults tell the protagonist to tell them anything strange that happens to him, but when he does they go "oh, that's not possible, you must be imagining things" … How did they think, that would solve any problems? It is addressed in the story, so it's not too bad, but still. Other than this, it was quite fun and I wonder if there's going to be a sequel.

Skater Boy (Anthony Nerada): What can I say about this one other than I liked it? :'D It's a pretty basic story: delinquent boy falls for someone who is like his polar opposite, in this case a ballet dancer, and wants to get a grip on his life for him. But it's done well, doesn't feel stale or anything. All of the characters are nice, even if they aren't, the protagonist is likable, even if he isn't the type of person one would like to hang out with (for most of the story anyway). Friends and family are just as important as the romance part. Hm. It's probably like this: There's more to the protagonist than meets the eye, and it's the same for the whole story? Sounds simple, but there's an honest heart in it.

Icarus (K. Ancrum): By chance, here's another one with a ballet dancer. :'D This one starts out really strange. The chapters are so short, at the beginning they felt a bit disconnected. It took me a while to find my footing in this. I had to ignore all the headlines to not always get taken out of the flow with every new chapter. Which also means, I probably missed a lot of the layers of the story, that are implied by the chapter titles. But it's worth it! It's kind of a strange story, but it gets really warm (there's romance, but the friendship part is also pretty strong). It has things to say (there's intersex rep for instance, and a genetic disease (was it EDS? I don't have my copy at hand to look it up, sorry) and the writing invokes that eerie feeling throughout. If you put it in a visual medium, you'd probably have to be very careful about the framing because it's about art (among other things) and everything feels very artistic and intentional. It's good!

just saw an art piece from one of your players that hit me with the most incredible sense of nostalgia and happiness. i used to run Lupines -- not Garou, because i was a teenager then and hadn't touched Apocalypse (even though I love apocalypse dearly now) and sometimes think about going back and making Lupines a thing again, ahah. Also, if you want, I can send you some stuff for old Werewolf source books, I saw your 5e post!

God that piece is, on a personal level, one of my absolute favourites to come out of The Little Black Door chronicle :')

And Lupines is such a fucking mood mate, keeps my poor players on their toes when the things outside the city are just 'nah they're not really statted, they'll just sort of kill you' - you've never seen more desperate drive rolls in your life XD

Which is my way of enthusiastically encouraging you to work on your own Lupine concepts!! And take that as an excuse to come show me if you do!! I rather like the Garou, and have used them in one VTM game where I revealed a Kindred as Kinfolk - but it's so much fun to screw around with new ideas, keep the table fresh

(plus, personally, adding new elements keep the horror alive, players can't treat threats like they're from a bestiary if they can't be sure what's going on >:D)

And thank you for the generous offer! I've actually been fortunate enough to scrounge the old lore thankfully - it's just very awkward because I don't know what's meant to still gel with the W5 lore. With Garou Tribes kinda being something one chooses I struggle to define them beyond a loose spiritual brotherhood - as opposed to the culture of a shared permanent curse with VTM Clans, or the inherent variation that comes from within a rather large ethnic group a la the old Garou Tribes

And then in turn how does this extend out to things like the Black Spiral Dancers? I can make decisions for my own games but if things are _different_ now they are not adequately defined anew for my liking as a Storyteller (or even a Player trying to make something withn the context)

That said, to echo the post you mentioned, I think I'm starting to get a grip with making my own antagonists - and in turn I've started to think more about Sept cultures, rather than Tribal cultures, and treat Tribes like specialisations almost. With any luck, there'll be enough to run a game with when it becomes time to do it! :') <3

I've been thinking on what to do with these three for a long time (well, mainly just the delphox and furret, since the sentret is a new character :'v I need to stop creating new characters xD ) and finally came up with this! they are the performance trio, Triphantos :D ready to give you a show full of fantasy and mystery… and sexyness ;D

Also! the meme in my pokemon setting, I guess, is that, since furrets in the game are super long, furrets and sentrets in my setting are super tall normally, so yeah, Akem may be a bit shorter than the average delphox, but those two girls are just big (and they are both about average height for their species XD )

I've always loved how supportive the witches are of one another!! The way they all have this deep, unwavering support for one another never fails to melt my heart <3

Imogen never fails to have the most badass moments, highlighted with effortless line deliveries from Laura that really punctuate the moment!! I think I'd have to say the moment right before Bells Hells fought Delilah in Darkstone is my favorite. The TONE in Imogen's voice, shifting from desperate and vulnerable when speaking with Laudna in the tree to hardened anger and determination, culminating in that incredible line of "DELILAH BRIARWOOD, I'm gonna sunder you." CHILLS!!

And then Imogen falls down a flight of stairs or yells at a completely innocent crepe stand man to really round things out xD My favorite girlfailure!!

fighter: what was your favorite funny moment 

This is a tie for me between the triple divination in Keyleth's office ("HEY HEY Is it Dancer?? Forget about D just IS IT DANCER??") or the entire first like 8 minutes of c3e73 haha. Going from Sam's Flat White with Vanilla Please shirt to Laudna's stand up act to rolling a natural 20 when you don't need to roll for scry. I couldn't breathe throughout the entire thing haha

Honorable mention to Boaty and Ropey of course, the Dread Captain is nothing without her crew!!

It's definitely cheating at this point to say Dorym xD So I'm going to go with Vexleth!! There's something about their dynamic going from being tinged with guarded terseness on Vex's end to her really softening up to Keyleth over time that I just love.

Day 18 - Across Germany

Time to travel to my last destination!

Five hours of train are too many hours of train ;_; especially if you're sitting backwards and you only have a little bit of window ;_;

Also this part of Germany is very similar to northern Italy (not the cool mountainy part; the flat, field after field part). Looking out the window, I could be in Lomellina or something XD

First impression of Freiburg I'm Breisgau: very good! The old town looks lovely from what I see from the tram, but the sun is so hot that I decide to go rest for a bit and go outside later.

(I'm starting to feel like an American, but... WHY THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING ANYWHERE. I mean, I can guess why, but... Maybe a fan? A lot of places I've stayed in the past had just a fan and it was perfectly alright, and instead there is just the heat. Everywhere.)

I take a walk through the old town in the perfect golden hour light, and yes, it's a lovely place. In some ways a nice parallel that this is the last stop when Innsbruck was the first (it's not the same area and they are not the same, but there's something of a similar vibe in some details).

One of the characteristic things of Freiburg are these tiny canals that run on one side of most streets in the old town. They are very beautiful, and there's lots of people walking barefoot in them, or sitting on the curb with their feet in the water and... It looks very refreshing but all the people that are doing it seem to be tourists and I cannot help but think about the tourists that bathed in the acqua alta in Venice (which you really, really shouldn't do). I really hope this is different XD

In the tiny Colombi park there's a small stage with some South American folk dancers. Love that I managed to find some musical event here as well :D

Anyway!! This episode was absolutely AMAZING and I loved and despised it :DD. How could you do this to me :')). The music was amazing (y'all that first song was SO FREAKING COOL!!! I loved it it was wild :DDD)!! Both songs were so good, and COMPLETE opposites lol. Despite partially being about the same thing xD. Like storyline wise lol (as in at least a bit about Ashlyn and Maddox being sus). Anyway! The drama was off the CHARTS and it was just a really good episode all around :)). I did genuinely enjoy it lol xdd. Still though, I am going to kill someone <3. I don't know who, but somebody :) xd. And Carlos is death so he's in on it, he'll help me with it lol.

Anyway xD. It was great. I am so freaking scared for the next episode and episodes, thank you :')). But SO EXCITED!! Still dying though lol <333.

btw, everyone else walks normally in this show (or like, as normally as you can in ballet shoes), but he stalks. he always has an incredibly deliberate pace with the graceful dancing stalking steps and it really sets off something in my hindbrain, i'll leave what that something is up to interpretation because the answer to any guess will be "yes"

oh heck there's no slow almost teasing horrible seduction at all in this one, it is all out and violent from the get-go

What dance classes did you take?

That's such an innocent question to ask on tumblr anon instead of directly to my insta story and the coincidence is kinda too great for that to not be related xDxD also pls know I know you're one of three ppl bc I can see who saw my story :D ffr of insta stalking don't ask the anon q Immediately after the related story! :D

Anyway...

I did lots of different dance styles, anything I could get my hands on basically:D the last ones were a latin class (though in the end more just a couple hours a week to get together and dance and less actual lessons, bc no exaggeration I was one of the three best dancers there and that's counting the teach) and a jazz/burlesque choreography course that I had performed with a couple weeks ago :)

Before that I also did modern, pole and standard(& latin)

I really want to do more pole dance and modern dance, especially free expressionist style! But I'm open for pretty much everything, let's see what I'll find where I move to next :)

The only dances I don't want to do are breakdance (tried it, not my thing) and ballet (ouch)

What I'd also like to try is figure skating! But I feel like that's another sport that might end up with injuries that'd keep me from my first love (aerial silks) so so far I never dared to really try

What you've seen in my story is probably just vaguely modern dance inspired with some jazzy movements thrown in, I was just feeling the LotR music ♡

Sooooooooooo....I may have picked up playing D&D in like four different campaings........one of which I'm DMing................And like part of it makes me wanna do a lot of art, but the thing is that most of that art is of my current character, a Drow elf bard named Lily Knight. And this is him. He's actually been a character in the back of my mind for quite some time, so I've had some time to flesh out what his personality is like, but crazily enough, I never took to fleshing out his outfit(s). On the left is a design I do really like, but he's kinda a belly dancer and the outfit doesn't fit that aesthetic that I wanna give him. I have art of him in said belly dancer outfit, but that's another matter. When showing that art to my table, one of the other players caught just a flash of it and immediately asked if Lily was wearing a magical girl costume, which of course I replied, "HE WILL NOW!!" So the one on the right isn't really cannon (yet *crosses fingers* xD) But i had to draw it because whyyyyyy nooooot. So yeah, this is Lily.
