My Fic List
Whelp, decided I should do one of these.  I have mostly written for Hockey RPF and BNHA, as you have likely already seen!
My BNHA Fics
Bury Them Deep
- “Shouji Mezou's entire life has revolved around being a goalie and playing hockey since he was five years old. After being drafted in the third round in the NHL, Shouji has two more years of college before moving on to playing professional hockey like he's always wanted. Or at least like he always thought he wanted. An injury that ends his season throws him into a tailspin, forcing him to take a look at his life and how he is going to live it, especially after meeting his fascinating new goth history tutor.”
(This bad bitch is 81k total and is chock full of my red hot hockey takes and midwestern references.  I love it very much and it is a sweet baby.)
The Rooftop Necromancy series AKA my black metal band AU:
Downhill from Here
- “ Hizashi just wants to tour the country with his best friends with their metal band in their shitty van like they've been planning for years. He'd successfully hidden his crush on one of them for years, after all, he would definitely be able to make this work and keep things fun and uncomplicated. Until Aizawa decided to start acting weird. “
(In which I take you all on a nostalgic trip to 2006-2008 metal culture and you can see the black metal love song that my dumb ass wrote.)
The Perfect Mistake
- “ It wasn't as though Hizashi had planned on breaking up with his boyfriend while they were on tour in a tiny cargo van with no room and no peace. He would have much rather preferred to do it when they were home and he could easily go and crawl back into his mom's basement. But he didn't have a choice. “
(As relationships tend to do, theirs goes through problems.)
Rooftop Necromancy
-"He’d even ended up leaning into the crowd when someone’s elbow had connected solidly with his nose and thrown him back. They’d gone quiet as Hizashi got himself up to his feet, ripped off his now bloody ‘Within Temptations’ tshirt from 2004, whipped his hair back from his face and screamed, “That’s what I’m FUCKING talking about.” into the mic.
They went wild for it, cheering as blood ran down his nose, past his mouth and dripped onto the stage, leaving him feeling like an otherworldly monster performing an occult ritual. Metal, he thought dazedly to himself, why in the fuck had he ever stopped doing metal."
(I hyperfocused so hard at the idea of Mic as a metal head that I wrote this in seven straight hours and WROTE THROUGH THE ATTEMPTED COUP ON DEMOCRACY WITHOUT KNOWING IT.  It’s a bit rough, but it’s got some good parts and it spawned the whole damn series.)
Hands Up
- "But of course he had, they had always been able to read each other and what they meant. That had often been their problem, if he was going to be honest."
(In which they figure their shit out.  Basically it was written when I was thinking alot about how my own mental health had evolved through the years.  It’s basically the story of two people who are both very good for each other and also very bad and how they deal with that.  It’s probably the most personally meaningful thing I’ve ever written.)
The other BNHA fics:
Waking Up With Ghosts
-"Hizashi opened his eyes to a world that belonged to ghosts. His headphones were gone and the gray, grimy world that he felt more than saw was muffled and still. This was bad, he hazily thought."
In which we follow Hizashi shortly after the events of 296. How he's found, how he finds out and how he has to tell.”
(I fished this one out of the garbage of my Google Docs because I’d written most of it and forgotten about it.  I dragged it out, prettied it up a little and threw it up on AO3.  It is by far my most well read BNHA fic, go figure.)
Leave Her Johnny
-”Captain Hizashi Yamada has combed the Seven Seas looking for the elusive smuggler Eraserhead. He has spent years searching for him, tracking his movements and trying to anticipate where he would be next. But he had never considered what would happen when he finally found him. “
(I wrote a paragraph of this and was immediately like ‘I MUST CREATE THIS’.  I take some chances writing wise in this as the whole thing is done in a Victorian Era ish style of writing.  But I think it’s effective and the ending is likely one of the best that I’ve ever managed.  I’m proud of it.)
Gold Rush
-”"That earned him a laugh and Mashirao’s smile made something in his chest ache, something that made him want to hurt. Why had he ever left?
“I’m really not,” Mashirao was saying but Shinsou just shook his head and kissed him once, twice and wished he could take the sunny afternoon and make it stay forever. Make it stay forever like Mashirao somehow had, while the neighborhood had adjusted without Hitoshi’s permission.
“You are,” he said, “And I love it.”
I love you, he should have said.  But as Mashirao’s eyes softened and the blonde pushed him back against the bed, Hitoshi knew he didn’t need to say it."
(You know how sometimes you listen to a Death Cab for Cutie song about gentrification over and over until a fic comes out?  Because that’s basically what happened here.)
Black Sun
‘"But then he remembered the way that Shouji had eaten the night after, one hand curled into his hair as he hung back in the corner. Shouji hid when something was wrong, like a wounded cat trying to find a dark place to either live or die and he was being released tomorrow. Now was the time to push or he’d find Shouji right back on his bed, staring at nothing."
Something happened to Shouji on the beach. Tokoyami is sure of it.‘
(Aaaaaand Death Cab for Cutie strikes again.  But heyo, my first published ShouToko and it is SOFTTTTT)
In the Far and Mighty West
Mic came closer and despite himself, Shouta could not find it in him to feel afraid. “You won’t understand, not really. I’ll try, though. I’m like Pecos Bill or Paul Bunyan or a jackalope or that fish that your friend caught that he swears he brought in but that you’ve never seen proof of. I’m the herd of dogies moving sweet and steady in the right direction, I’m no stragglers to worry about, I’m that perfect dog that’s there to keep them in line. I’m that group of good friends that you would kill for, I’m the woman who you’re dying to come home to, I’m that promised home of milk and honey. I’m Mic.”
Shouta stared at him dazedly and licked his lips, feeling drunk and stupid as he stared at the man. “You’re… magic?”
“I suppose you could call me that.”
(Cowboy!Erasermic.  Inspired heavily by American Gods and my own love of folk heroes.)
In Your Violence
- “'Mezou frowned, eyes narrowing. “Are you trying to say that you’re scared that I’ll be killed by having faith in you?”
“It would be in your best interest to stay away from me,” Fumikage finally said, his voice falling flat and quiet. “I am destined to be a monster.”
'Mezou gets the call he fears, the one that says that Fumikage has lost control again. But this time it's different, in more ways than one.”
(I listened to Silence by Marshmello until I went insane in this is the result.  Featuring some of my super depressing headcanons about Shouji!  But it’s not awful.)
My hockey fics that I still like:
Hufflepuff Halfwit
- ““Zhenya, the wind is coming from the west, I will not remind you again. You shut that window before the house stinks of factories!” She snapped and Geno stared at the owl as though maybe it would know what to do. But instead, it had given a little hoot and wiggled inside, only to drop it’s letter on the counter.
He turned his head very slowly back to look at his mother, who had suddenly gone very quiet. “It… just showed up, Mama. And um. It brought a letter.” He waited again, looked back at the owl who had begun to nose at the pirozhkis in interest and then looked back at his mother with the best puppy dog eyes he had ever attempted. “Can I keep it?”
(This is a part of my hockey/Harry Potter au that still legitimately haunts my dreams.  It’s basically a Sid/Geno in Hogwarts but I really love the world building I got to do with Koldovstoretz, the Russian school of wizardry.  Don’t read ‘On the Word of a Slytherin’ though, I’m not as proud of that one.)
The Prince
- “What the fuck.” Matt breathed out, sitting back heavily onto his hotel bed as he stared at his phone.
‘This is Henrik.’ The text read. ‘I would like to meet you. I will book a room in Pittsburgh at your convenience. Let me know what time will work for you.’  -
(Listen, it’s Henrik Lundqvist/Matt Murray smut, I feel like that is novel and interesting and worth your attention.  I wax poetic on goalies in this, as you do.)
The Zoo of Toronto
- “No one missed it when a massive porcupine had shuffled in between the reporters with a single minded focus, pushing media away until it was able to grip onto Phil’s suit pants and try to pull itself up. He hadn’t been able to do more then besides pick the animal up before it could shred his pants to shreds and walk out of the locker room before the decision had been made with the Toronto media.
Phil Kessel was guilty.”
(Not gonna lie, this is probably my favorite of the hockey fics I’ve written.  And it’s Phil/Carl, which is never found anymore but it was a good pairing.)

#17: セブンスドラゴン2020 / 7th Dragon: 2020
The year is 2020. The world is under siege by murder hornets, political unrest, a pandemic, and swarms of ferocious dragons. The fact that only one of the above is fake speaks to how much of a dumpster fire this year has been. Personally, as an "essential worker" who runs a coffee kiosk, some of the behavior that I have witnessed with regards to masks and general safety has taken what little faith I had in humanity and ground it into dust. I have been gaming - and drinking - much more than I ever used to, and while it has saved me money in the long run, I sometimes feel guilty with how much I've dove into this hobby. But who cares, really?
I discovered 7th Dragon 2020 through a random late-night Google search: I occasionally dig around the Japanese side of the internet for research on what games I'd like to play next, and the moment I realized that this game was set in post-apocalyptic Tokyo, in the year 2020, I knew I had to play the absolute hell out of it, regardless of quality.
Tumblr media
Art imitating life? We love to see it!
As stated above, 7th Dragon takes place in Tokyo, Japan. You begin by creating your main character, choosing a class and appearance. What really surprised me, however, was the sheer amount of voices you can choose from - I'm not really an anime fan, but according to the game's official website, quite a few famous voice actors lent their talent to the game, and they're all full of personality. Want to make a foul-mouthed gothic lolita? You can. A beefcake with the voice of a 10 year old? You can do that too.
Tumblr media
The game features 5 different classes to choose from: Samurai, Destroyer, Psychic, Hacker, and Trickster. Out of these five, I decided to make my main character a Trickster - all classes in 7th Dragon are essentially a sort-of "two-in-one" deal, and in the Trickster's case, their skills are divided between gun and dagger skills, and they both do very different things. Daggers tend to focus more on applying various debuffs to enemies - such as poison, silence, and so forth, while with guns, you'll be avoiding enemy attacks, employing counters, and inducing critical attacks. With the proper set-up, gun Tricksters can then apply constant damage with a possibility of avoiding enemies entirely. To round out the party of three, I then chose to make a Hacker and Destroyer.
Tumblr media
Destroyers are your main brawler class, but with an interesting twist. Their abilities all revolve around applying what is called a D-Counter to enemies - certain attacks increase this value, and you can only perform the more devastating attacks once you raise this to the appropriate level. D-Counters wear off over time, too, so it is important for this class to keep up offensive pressure in order to be effective.
Alternatively, you can develop them to become more of a tank: Destroyers possess a stance that draws enemy attention. Once attacked, they'll respond with a powerful counter - this is obviously a great way to protect your squishier party members, and it is extremely satisfying when you successfully bait enemies into destruction. Later on, you'll learn more specialized counters that will allow you to ignore enemy damage entirely, but there's a catch: you have to predict what type of attack they'll use - will they try and bite you, use their claws, or cast a spell? You'll have to pay attention to not only monster anatomy, but to attack patterns, too.
Tumblr media
Hackers are the main support class in 7th Dragon: they have the bog-standard buffing spells, but I have to give special recognition to the developers of 7th Dragon for going out of their way to come up with some unique abilities that I have yet to see in any other game. For example, Hackers can set-up a "safety net" that will automatically revive fallen party members at the end of a round, but it is required to be casted at the beginning of that turn. Know a boss is about to end you with their strongest attack? Cast it and hope for the best. They can also decrease the amount of turns your party suffers from status effects, and even increase the rate at which your auto-skills activate.
Tumblr media
They can, true to their name, also "hack" into enemies. I haven't played with these skills as of this writing, but it involves the Hacker inducing a status effect of the same name, and then causing all sorts of shenanigans. Other classes possess abilities that can make enemies weak to hacking, which reduces the amount of set-up required. In my case, I decided to focus on the support abilities due to the gaps in my party's defenses, but I can easily see how a more offense-focused Hacker can be a huge asset in battle.
Tumblr media
As stated earlier, 7th Dragon 2020 takes place in Tokyo after a sudden and cataclysmic invasion by hordes of enigmatic dragons. Their ultimate objective is unknown, as they do not speak or interact in any manner that is not hostile. You play as a member of the government organization Murakumo, lead by an alarmingly busty woman known as Natsume. Determined to take back the country, you are then sent out into various Tokyo neighborhoods, warped by the dragon's magic, in order to discover the true nature of your nemesis.
Tumblr media
I really enjoyed how little you know about the reptilian threat: it reads almost Lovecraftian - these beings are beyond human comprehension, and have the ability to warp reality as they see fit, resulting in some fantastic environments. One of my favorites is the sky-high giant sphere of railroad tracks in Ikebukuro - traversing it feels like you've really stumbled upon some twisted version of our own world.
Tumblr media
Along the way, you'll encounter the members of an organization known as SKY - initially the villains of the game, you'll eventually become allies in their search for the one with what they call "the power." If you have played any RPG at all, I'm sure you can figure out just who that is. There's also a large variety of secondary characters, but overall, the game's plot isn't very innovative, but it's serviceable. What surprised me, however, was just how dark some scenes were. In one instance, you cooperate with the Japanese military in order to stop a massive dragon-made cannon, only to watch dozens of your fellow soldiers die in front of your eyes.
Tumblr media
7th Dragon isn't afraid to kill off your friends, either - there are sections in the story that are utter bloodbaths. Certain characters the game seemed to favor early on are promptly killed off at random, and the way the survivors react to the trauma of losing their companions is a major story-point that resounds throughout the later chapters of 2020. I was surprised as to how the allegiances between the cast shift as the game progresses - their relationships, and the way they evolve was, to be honest, way more intriguing than the main plot of, "Dragons are bad."
Tumblr media
7th Dragon also features a base development system, in which you'll use materials gathered from defeated dragons to add new weapons to shops, create more residential spaces for refugees, and unlock optional side-quests. You can also recruit Hatsune Miku, because of course you can. Why wouldn’t you? Doing so unlocks a remixed soundtrack featuring said vocaloid, but nothing else. It's a curious addition to the game, and the re-done tracks are pretty cool. Unfortunately, the side-quests in 7th Dragon tend to have poor rewards and vague objectives, so I abandoned doing them around halfway through the game.
Tumblr media
I can see fans of the Shin Megami Tensei and Etrian Odyssey series finding a lot to love in 7th Dragon. Creating a party that works well together is extremely satisfying, especially given the high level of challenge the game has during boss battles. The plot isn't anything impressive, but the ensemble cast and the blood-soaked shenanigans more than make up for it. I can confidently recommend this game to anybody who seeks a marginally less horrifying version of our current apocalypse. But who knows? If 2021 brings us dragons, I can only pray they eat me first.

Lasting Injuries
I started writing this yesterday when my knee was acting up from an injury I sustained roughly 8 years ago, and it initially inspired me to write this. I HC that Damien didn’t just have a cane for the looks of it, but because he actually needed it due to an old injury. I decided to write a story about what had happened to him, and when I asked in one of the Discord servers I’m a part of what that injury should be, @doctordiscord123 suggested that maybe Will accidentally shot Damien in the knee while showing off a new gun.
This story is the result of that idea, along with SEVERAL odd google searches.
Heads up for the following: Gun violence, poor gun safety, accidental shooting, accidental kneecapping, descriptions of injuries, chronic pain, long term injuries.
Lasting Injuries
William had told Damien that he had something to show him. He’d told Damien to head outside, and wait for him by the treeline, while he grabbed whatever it was he was going to show off from his room.
Damien hadn’t known what he’d expected, but he knew he wasn’t expecting William to show up and show him a gun. It was a brand new revolver, the metal clean and shiny, and Will held it in his hand as if it were meant to be there.
“I got it for my sixteenth birthday the other day!” Will exclaimed, showing off the revolver to his friend. “Beautiful, isn’t it?”
“It is,” Damien nodded. He wasn’t exactly a gun person, but he enjoyed seeing his friend so excited. “You do know what you’re doing with that, right?”
“Of course I do! I’ve fired one before, but now I have my own!”
Damien seemed to relax a bit when he learned that Will knew how to handle his new weapon. He’d known it was only a matter of time before he ended up getting a gun, anyways, seeing as he wanted to go into the military some day. Now that his nerves were somewhat calmed, he was curious. “How does it work?”
“It’s simple, really!” Will told him, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose with his free hand. “This releases the cylinder,” he mused, pulling back the release to let the cylinder swing out. “And you load it like this,” he narrated, loading a round into one of the chambers, before clicking the cylinder back into place. He stepped back a bit, adjusting his grip on the gun as he went. “You look down the sights to find where you’re aiming, pull the hammer back,” Will looked down the sights of the gun.
Damien trusted that Will wasn’t aiming at him. He didn’t think he should move, until it was far too late. The shot rang out across the manor grounds, and the next thing Damien knew, he was on the ground, unsure of really what had happened. Things seemed to slow as Will set the gun down and ran to him, pulling off his coat and wrapping it around Damien’s knee.
“Just, just stay there, I’ll get help,” Will rambled, sounding shaken as he stood, sprinting back to the manor.
While William was gone, Damien started to feel a sort of burning pain radiating through his leg. It was dull at first, but as the moments ticked by, he could feel it getting worse. Will returned with a couple members of the house staff, along with Celine, who quickly knelt beside him, immediately starting to fuss over him.
He didn’t really remember much after that. He remembered Celine and the two adults fussing over him, making sure that he kept calm. They all brought him inside, and he remembered being loaded into an ambulance, with Celine by his side, holding his hand.
A few days later, Damien was feeling a little more himself. He was still confined to his bed in the hospital, but he was awake and alert. That was when he learned that William had shot him in the knee. William was apologizing profusely, saying he hadn’t meant to, it was an accident, he thought he was aiming at the tree.
“Will, calm down,” Damien consoled. “I’ll be alright, there’s no need to worry.”
Damien didn’t realize just how long it would be until he was up and walking again.
He went through three or four operations in an attempt to repair the damage to his left knee. The shot hadn’t been direct; the round had hit more to the side of his kneecap, shattering part of it, but not shattering the entire joint. The doctors did what they could to piece things back together, but there was only so much they could do. After all the operations, Damien had to go through weeks of therapy in order to even take a few steps. He was on crutches for what felt like ages, he wore various braces for years, and used a cane to get around after that.
He did his best to walk unassisted when he could, being the stubborn man he was, especially when it came time for his mayoral campaign. He wanted to seem strong, he didn’t want the public to see him relying on a cane, didn’t want them to see him limping.
Will had always been apologetic about what had happened; he almost never had a gun out around Damien after the incident. Damien always reminded him that it was an accident. They were just kids at the time, after all, they didn’t know better. He didn’t hold any grudge against his friend.
He’d never admit to Will’s face just how frustrating the lasting toll the injury took on him really was.
There were days where his knee hurt so badly he couldn’t stand. Days where he wouldn’t leave the house because he didn’t want to be seen leaning heavily on a cane with his knee braced. He snapped at doctors, at peers, at his own sister, some days, when the pain and limitations became just too much.
His campaign pushed his limits some days. All the events he went to, the debates, the rallies, and everything else, it all took a toll on his knee. Damien had to be on his feet so much, and he couldn’t just skip out on things; it would make him seem unreliable if he did. He did what he could to stick it out, made as many of the events as he could.
The colder months were a blessing and a curse. The cold often lead to more stiffness in his knee, causing it to be sore more often than not. But, he often wore long coats during colder weather, which he made sure would fall beyond his knees, allowing him to wear one of his braces. It wasn’t his best brace, but it was better than nothing.
It was early spring when the campaign ended, when all Damien could do was wait and hope he’d done enough. He waited inside, his fingers crossed. Justice, a friend from his years in university, was by his side, trying to help calm his anxieties, as well as offering some support to keep Damien’s weight off his injured knee, which was starting to act against the man once again.
Celine rushed in, carrying something behind her back. The results were about to be announced, Damien had to show his face out there, especially if it was him who ended up the victor.
“Celine!” Damien called, as his sister approached. “You said you would be here almost half an hour ago.”
“I know, I know,” Celine stated, placing a hand on her brother’s shoulder. “I needed to pick something up.”
“I need to get outside,” Damien told her, already beginning to pull away from Justice. “What did you need to pick up?” he questioned, knowing full well his sister would be following him. He didn’t get an answer, and simply rolled his eyes as he stepped outside, just in time for the man up on the stage to begin reading off the final results in front of him.
It barely registered that it was his name being read off.
“Just a little something for you, Mayor Damien,” Celine finally told him, offering a cane to her stunned brother. The object was brand new, and straight as an arrow; the main body a shiny black, with a silver tip and ornate silver topper.
Damien took the cane in his hands, speechless. It felt as if time had stopped, at least until he felt Celine taking hold of his shoulders and turning him around.
“Well, go on! You need to say something to them!”
The new mayor took a breath, and stood a little straighter as he scanned the audience. Hundreds, thousands of eyes were trained on him. He took a deep breath, and planted the silver tip of the cane on the ground, finding that it felt far more sturdy than his older ones. He took his first steps with it up onto the stage, and felt the wave of energy from the audience wash over him as he walked to the podium with confidence.
They were some of the most confident steps he’d taken since he was a teenager.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dark felt fairly decent when he got up in the morning. His shoulders and neck didn’t feel as bad as they had for some time. He felt like today was going to be a good day.
That was until he went to actually get out of bed. His left knee practically gave out on him.
He thought back to that day so many years ago. When Damien had been shot in the knee. That injury had been a part of him for so long. Even though he was no longer in Damien’s body, he could feel the injury all the same.
Dark sighed, looking to the mess of pink hair beside him, still sleeping. Wilford didn’t remember the incident from what he could tell. It was for the best, really. He always claimed that it was simply his chronic pain that occasionally lead to him bracing his knee, or using a cane. He didn’t mention the damage that had been done by a stray bullet.
So, Dark simply braced himself against the wall, going about his usual routine. He showered, did his makeup, got dressed. He was sitting in the chair in the corner of the room when Wil woke up, strapping his brace into place to support his knee.
“One of those days, Darky?” Wil tiredly asked, getting out of bed and approaching his husband, wrapping his arms around the man’s shoulders and kissing his cheek.
“Mm-hm. One of those days,” Dark responded, returning his husband’s sleepy kiss.
Wil nodded, and picked up Dark’s cane from the corner. Dark took it from him, running his thumb over the topper for a moment before standing up.
“I’m going to head down to the dining room. I’ll see you at breakfast,” he mused, giving Wilford a final kiss to the cheek before making his way out of the room.
He found an odd comfort in the sound of the silver tip of the cane against the wood floors of the manor. It was a familiar sound, one that Damien had found oddly comforting for years, and one that Dark now found oddly soothing. With the brace on his knee, and the cane in his hand, Dark walked with a surprising confidence, despite the lasting injuries that tried to slow him down.

Note
Please bestow is with your Dark thoughts Betts. When they used Hozier’s ‘somewhere in the woods’....put a fork in me I’m done.
when i had to pause the show to google “quantum superposition” i realized that i wasn’t enjoying the direction it had taken.
mostly, i have questions.
where did the fifth martha come from? the one adam killed with the god particle? she wasn’t on the same path as eva’s martha and never got the face scar but she died?
what were magnus and franziska doing when bartosz and jonas were being cranky in the nineteenth century?
bartosz says that jonas’ appearance got all fucked up because of traveling but? where did he travel? how did he get the god particle to work?
where did those fucking round time/world machines come from and how does everyone know how to use them without being taught?
if young noah sees agnes kill older noah, doesn’t he already know that jonas betrays him, before he even betrays him? (i might be remembering that wrong)
if there’s an original world that deviates in 1986, am i supposed to believe that every single character born from time travel just doesn’t exist in the original world? and if that’s true, doesn’t there mean there would have to have been a first loop to tie the rest of the knot, and if that’s the case, then the first iteration would be distinctly different from the rest? this is the biggest plot hole in the entire show
am i supposed to believe that jonas’ existence is such a bad influence on bartosz that he’s a burnout in adam’s world but a goddamn nuclear physicist in eva’s?
if both eva and adam’s world came from the same initial point, what set off the differences? why are there so many color differences and architectural mirroring, which implies the architects and designers across both worlds are the same but prefer mirrored layouts and different color palettes?
did eva want the loop to continue and adam wanted it to stop? for all they reiterated what both of them wanted, i still can’t tell how they were in conflict?
where did the third claudia come from, when we watched claudia prime shoot her in the head?
how is everyone suddenly able to travel at any point in time and presumably any space, when before they could only go in 33 year intervals?
where did the broken time machine come from that claudia gives to adult jonas, who gives it to tanhaus who then discovers time travel?
what was the result of tanhaus’ experiment that split the original world? did he see any results or was he just like “damn that was a bust” and have no idea he superimposed 3 realities on top of one another?
why is the bunker a bunker all of the time except for 1986 when it suddenly turns into a fully furnished boy’s bedroom complete with a television set? and why did the first time machine require killing boys when technically the time machine itself is a paradox, because it has always existed? (but again, the ending implies there was a first time loop, so it can’t have always existed)
why did eva’s apocalypse result in a bunch of sand??
adam presumably spends 33 years trying to figure out the god particle or whatever, but eva in her world just...has it already? who figured it out?
how does the noah in eva’s world exist if there’s no jonas to take bartosz back in time to meet silja, who wouldn’t have been born anyway if hannah didn’t go back in time to spite fuck egon?
who fucked helge?
am i the only one who thought noah was going to start making out with jonas after charlotte kidnaps herself?
in the original world, regina isn’t with aleksander. does this mean boris doesn’t murder anyone in the original world, and does that mean the murder was a result of time travel? and since the murder happened outside winden, are we supposed to believe that the time travel that happened within winden had a greater affect on the entire planet? or did he only not show up so that bartozs couldn’t be born and therefore fuck adam’s sister and have agnes, who fucks adam’s son, and have tronte?
if tronte isn’t regina’s father, who is?
why does charlotte spend so long in s1 and 2 developing her character as a sharp-witted skeptic only to immediately begin doing adam’s bidding?
when egon arrives in eva’s world to help hannah give birth, do they just both die in the apocalypse? and if so, why did eva bother to send egon back at all? and also, in eva’s world egon doesn’t even know hannah so why tf would he care?
what is katharina’s name in the original world if hannah isn’t in 1954 to inspire helena?
if adam and eva’s rhetoric revolves around “if you don’t work for me, everyone will die” why is it then suddenly okay to make sure most of the characters never existed at all?
are we sure the apocalypse doesn’t happen in the original world? does that imply that the apocalypse is the result of time travel? did claudia travel to the original world to confirm for absolute certain the apocalypse didn’t happen? since it was kind of her fault in both worlds?? and does adam-world claudia meet up with original-world claudia at all to tell her the situation? if not, why wouldn’t she??
am i supposed to believe agnes voluntarily fucked the original, or is this a coercion situation in order to have tronte?
am i also supposed to believe agnes would never go back for doris? that she put her allegiance to adam above everything?
why did they spend all of s2 trying to solve the detective’s brother’s murder if they only mentioned it in passing in s3? just, aleksander admits to bartosz that it happened, and that’s it?
why are there so many people who hit other people with rocks (and a fire extinguisher)?
why is everyone crying in nearly every scene?
lastly and most importantly, WHAT HAPPENED TO WOLLER’S EYE?
i have more questions probably but they’re impossible to answer because they’re either plot holes or rhetorical. i still love the first two seasons, but the third fell prey to what i feared would happen, which is that the ambition of the conflict became too unwieldy for its container. my biggest disappointment is the major time travel plot hole, which had otherwise been so seamless. i found myself this season not really caring about the characters at all, because everything was so focused on plot, which imo is what made s1 and 2 so special, a show that values its characters over the ingenuity of its plot. s3 does not hold that same standard. there’s a bizarre amount of crying that does not at all add to the emotional stakes. i wasn’t bored while watching, but i definitely was not as compelled as the first two seasons.
i know this show will never have a lot of fic, but here’s an incomplete list of fics i’d die to read:
noah/elisabeth falling in love after the apocalypse
jonas/noah post-apocalypse friends to lovers to enemies
jonas/bartosz 19th c. friends to lovers to enemies
agnes/doris reunion and HEA
egon/hannah 1950s unrequited angsty love
adult!jonas/hannah s2 mother/son time travel shenanigans
adult!jonas/teen!martha 19th c. sad angst
literally anything that addresses and fixes some of the plot holes
ultimately i think the show ended on the right and inevitable beat, but the path it took to get there didn’t make any sense, and i think would have been better utilized if the writer stuck to honoring the characters rather than exploring the thematic implications of time travel.

Returning to Burning
You’ve probably noticed a change in me over the past year or two. I know I’ve noticed a change in myself. It's a difficult change to articulate, since it’s the result of so many different factors, all with varying origins and impacts. Simply put, despite holding the title, I haven’t been a rowdy fucker for a long time now. I’ve gone from screaming edgy jokes and racial slurs to carefully rehearsing thoughtfully worded speeches to awkwardly spit out in the middle of podcasts. Now, I’m less of a wannabe performance artist and more of an armchair pseudo-intellectual. I’ve mellowed out, in other words. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, by the way. I know a lot of you actually prefer me when I’m not screaming nigger, and I’m not really here to nostalgically reflect on some halcyon days that never really existed. I’m not here to renounce the results of mellowing out, I’m here to try and explain how it happened in the first place.
I have been an intellectual hikikomori. Since my popularity ascendancy after Radcon 2 and plunge into being a full-time professional amateur demagogue, I have cognitively circled the drain. I have let my mind deteriorate and my interests stagnate. To make great artwork, or even just to be really fucking funny, you have to be constantly seeking out new perspective to depict and/or parody. When you create something, you draw upon previously in-taken inspiration from things you’ve seen or shows you’ve watched. This is a resource that can dry up, and you have to constantly be filling it back up with new ideas or else you’ll quickly run out of original inspiration to draw upon and turn into a washed-up hack. When you’re young, definitionally you accrue more new experiences faster. As I grew up, I kept taking from my well of knowledge far more than I was returning back into it, and soon enough I was turning into a washed-up hack.
For the better part of two years, I talked to a revolving handful of the same fifty people and discussed an even sparser variety of topics. Since I went to online school, I had all of my most precious, formative years to waste on the modern internet, with all of it’s manipulative trappings. Every day, I would make the same rounds through the same four or five Discord servers, and then peer through Twitter, my only window into the outside social world. If that last part didn’t give you a carcinogenic lump on your testicles the size of a soccer ball then consult your doctor, you’re probably already dead. I would never leave my house, besides the occasional expeditions to fast food joints. I wasn’t even doing nothing right; I wasn’t consuming art, just mindless content on Youtube from the same thirty or so channels. Every new channel I would subscribe to would just offer a slightly different variation on the content from another channel I was already subscribed to. I wasn’t even really talking or playing video games with friends, I thought that was a waste of time I could be “working”. By working, I mean opening up Google Docs or Photoshop or Pycharm and throwing myself at creative projects, getting distracted every five minutes and switching back and forth between my work and previously detailed distractions. I didn’t work smart and I didn’t work hard, but I also didn’t totally relax or build my social life. Everyday was spent in a nervous state, the in-between of war and peace, work and play. All the while drifting off into the twilight realm of my own secret thoughts and occasionally gasping for air in insular sycophantic communities and drowning my sorrows by watching shitty vlogs.
That is, until a few months ago.
I started college in September, and it’s been pretty rude awakening, if nothing else. All of these previously articulated thoughts had been fading in and out of focus in my brain for the better part of two years now, but it was only now that I was able to actually gauge the effect it’s had on me. At this point, there’s a thousand different directions I could diverge into. What has it been like adjusting to a completely different lifestyle? How has my first semester of normal school in six years been? Was Digibro right about everything? The answers to all of these deserve their own points, and they shall receive them in due course. I want to close off this post by partially answering the first of them as it relates to what I was just talking about.
Before, I was like a wildfire that had run out of forest to burn down. I spread and spread, cranking out art and jokes. But eventually I had used up all of my inspiration and material, and I was left without any more fuel.  Now, everything I used to do and be has been uncomfortably and quite abruptly destroyed, and I have been thrust into an alien world consisting only of pain. I’m in a new city, learning new ideas and techniques to use for my art and meeting new people and harvesting new experiences to draw upon for my comedy. My last few smoldering embers have been caught by the wind, and have wound up in a brand new unmolested forest, ready to be reduced to ash. In other words, I’ve been having a lot of brain blasts recently, and as a result I feel more alive than ever. That’s why I made this Tumblr and why I’m writing to you now and will do so again soon. I’m finally ready to !thrash again.

Tumblr media
For many turns whispers have filled the ears of Hingashi citizens; rumors of violence, darkness, depravity— a secret culmination of shadowy powers that work their hands in all manners of business throughout the whole of the One Sea. Even with the Garlean Occupancy, these families found ways to reconvene and keep their ever intangible power in place. These families, the ‘yakuza’ families of the East, found means by which not only to keep a revolving door of power in place: but also a means to orchestrate organized chaos for their very own entertainment.
And it rises, rearing its bestial head.
[BALMUNG SERVER]
From the shadows does the Mujihigi return to the world once more; a single crest that strikes a myriad of emotions into those who gaze upon it. For some, determination and excitement. For others? Fear. (A special thank you to @wayward-whelpling for helping me finish the emblem! Go check out his work!)
WHAT IS THE MUJIHIGI?
The Mujihigi is a b-monthly underground fighting event, open to all underworld/syndicate and yakuza RPers on Balmung, including those with links to gambling and trafficking. But it is more than that. The Mujihigi is a storytelling event, a story in which is open to all who want to participate!
In this fighting den, powerful criminal organizations/families and/or those with underworld ties from around the world will pit their fighters against one another for the glory of the champion’s title (Yokozuna), the riches acquired through bets (IC gil,) and for the honor of showcasing martial prowess and strength in the name of your family (This allows an FC/Group/Individual to name a champion on their behalf.)
Unsponsored Fighters will be placed within a pool of ‘potential fighters’ from the service pits (ie: loners, thieves, outcasts, prisoners who have requested freedom, indentured servants, etc) and will be ‘auctioned’ (for IC gil) to members of the Mujihigi’s many syndications to fight on their behalf for the event (a second to their own champion.) This allows lone rpers, characters who’s FC may not necessarily wish to be involved wholly, or someone who wants their character to foray through the fighting den to make those connections and gain potential reputation for their character.
Each Mujihigi consists of 7 fighters: Shin-Yokozuna (Current Champion) included and is preceded by ‘Hype Night.’
WHAT IS HYPE NIGHT?
Hype Night is an event preceding every Mujihigi that is more of a social gathering of aforementioned malignants where they mingle, place bets, make backroom deals and consider purchase of unclaimed fighters. It is a night of celebration, with performances and plenty of connections to be made.
Bets will begin on Hype Night and end as fighting starts on Fight Night!!
ARE THERE ANY PRIZES?
The person who can successfully guess the bracket results correctly (match by match, including the winner,) will receive a $25 mogstation prize of their choice. (Can be multiple items totaling to $25 as well.) || US & Canadian Residents only, excluding Quebec. No physical prizes, digital delivery, no purchase necessary.
The winner of the Mujihigi will receive a cleaned and colored sketch of their character in kesho-mawashi and haori reflecting the emblem (kamon) of their sponsor by @jeaart, to be delivered on the artist’s schedule.
Information for how to sign up and place your bets will begin on Hype Night!! Can you correctly guess how Fate will weave her story?
WHEN IS THE MUJIHIGI EVENT AND THE HYPE NIGHT?
「HYPE NIGHT: 08/13/2019 starting at 8pm EST」 The Hype Night (08/13/2019) for the Mujihigi will take place in Goblet; Ward 18 Plot 34 at 8pm EST:  Entertainment! Gossip! IC Gil Betting! IC Gil Fighter Auctions!
「MUJIHIGI FIGHT NIGHT: 08/15/2019 starting at 8pm EST」 The Fight Night (08/15/2019) for the Mujihigi will take place in Shirogane; Ward 14 Hidden Shores at 8pm EST: Put those bets to the test! Watch the carnage! See who will become the Mujihigi’s next Yokozuna!
WHERE CAN I SIGN UP TO BE A FIGHTER? WHAT DO I GET FOR BEING A FIGHTER?!
Please fill out the form located >> here. <<
Signups will begin with this post, and end on June 26th at 8pm EDT (or whenever we get the 16th signup. Make sure to sign up as quick as possible, these spots go quickly!). If we reach 16 signups before then, they will close early! If we do go over the slotted amount of spaces, we still want to include you!! So even if there are more signups than spots, you and your character will be offered a chance to fight in a Prelim-Fight for one of the available spots in the real tournament.
Any and all fighters interested will be given a chance to participate in the story, but for those lucky 8 that make it into the brackets, we will be providing custom banners! See an example below.
Tumblr media
These banners will be posted in a separate advertisement once all prelim fights have been decided, and the brackets for the tournament becomes clear!
PLEASE make sure you are committed to seeing this through. We will be accepting only 16 fighters, and because of the structure of this tournament, the day of the Fighting could last several hours. Scheduling is key!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Hype Night (08/13/2019) for the Mujihigi will take place in Goblet; Ward 18 Plot 34 of the Housing Subdivision at 8pm EST.
Similarly, the Fight Night (08/15/2019) will take place in Shirogane, Ward 14; Hidden Shores, at 8pm EST with the area segmented as so:
HOW DO THE FIGHTS WORK?
Information about how the fights are run from a technical standpoint can be found here. Cut off is 06/26/2019 at 8pm EDT!
HOW DO I SPONSOR A FIGHTER?
It’s actually pretty easy! Sponsorship is simply bringing your organization/business into the fold and putting your IC gil up for sponsoring your fighter. These details can all be talked about in advance (or also rped out— whichever is more convenient!) A representative for your organization however must be present at both Hype Night and Fight Night. Please contact us (discord: jeaart#6354 /Bryte Darklyt#4586) for an invite to our discord server for more information!
I’M UNSPONSORED, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR ME?
Not a problem! Hype Night is the day where unsponsored fighters are put up to have their “fees” paid by an organization in exchange for their participation. This is a way to network, but also a way to further side stories by integrating your character with another’s in a way that may see their debt paid back either by winning, or by other tasks ordained by the sponsor. These side stories are absolutely important to have discussed OOCly, but that was what this event was for! Making stories! If you do not receive any bids, do not worry! The House will take on your sponsorship costs, and thus you will just be at the will of the Enforcers.
HOW DOES BETTING WORK?
No actual gil will be exchanged. The bets are entirely IC. Odds will be given on every fighter during the hype night. Winning wagers placed will ICly reflect these given odds in the payouts offered. When betting, please look for at betting representative at the desk or Camille Everardi during Hype Night. All bookies will have a [looking for meld] tag during hype night and will be near the desk of the event hall. You’re welcome to send a /tell or RP out the wager in the line at the betting desk with one of the bookies.
If you’d like an IC storyline to occur from a lost bet, please let us know OOCly so the House can continue the story appropriately based on the outcome if your character cannot pay for a wager that was made on credit. [Please remember all wagers are IC and no actual gil will be exchanged!]
On Hype Night we will be beginning the betting simulation! We will post a link to a google document that lets you decide your bracket based on how YOU think the tournament will go. To the person who gets it 100% correct from Round 1 to the Finals, we will be giving away 25$ in mogstation credit!! The link will be posted here after Hype Night ends, and will be kept open until fights start on Fight Night.
We Look forward to seeing you on the sands!
(Side note, WE WELCOME ALL CRYSTAL ROLEPLAYERS TO REACH OUT!! This will be the FIRST Mujihigi where world visiting is possible, and want to see as many of you as we can!)
(ADDITIONAL SIDE NOTE! We have characters with apartments in the ward of the fight night location. If you or a friend NEEDS a teleport because you don’t have Kugane unlocked, find Tyalo Moro in game or contact us and we will get you hooked up!)

How to Get More From Digital PR (Without Mentioning AVE) | Pint Sized Marketing
Digital PR is an evolving discipline. Over the years, we’ve developed from link builders to more rounded PRs and broader marketers. Yet more often than not, the way we see digital PR being judged revolves around links and the traditionally SEO based metrics from which our discipline was born. I was recently invited to speak around this topic for Pint Sized Marketing, a feeder event to the larger Learn Inbound which takes place in Ireland each year. Many thanks to Mark Scully for having me; you’ll find my slides and a write up of my talk below. Digital PR was born from an SEO need It’s no secret that link building is an integral part of any search campaign. In order to outrank our competitors, we must prove the credibility of our knowledge and of our brand – and the most tangible way Google has to do this right now is through links. That’s why, way back in the early days of SEO, link building was big business. We knew that more links meant better rankings and – as we often do – we took advantage of that fact and found sneaky ways to get more links, like link farms, article spinning and forum comments. It made sense, then, that Google caught onto this and told us, in no uncertain terms (and via a super cute animal) that this was not cool. The penguin update penalised those who invested in poor quality link building techniques and as such, gave the industry a metaphorical kick up the backside to do better. An investment in content It was here that link builders / SEOs saw the need to invest more in content. The idea was that good quality content would merit links in their own right – which was something made far easier by the fact that webmasters had not yet grown tired of backlink requests or got wise to the fact that links are essentially currency (leading to many today asking us to pay for them, thus rendering the whole process pointless, but I digress…). So we did just that; we invested in content, anything from really useful guides through to interactive campaigns. The biggest surge in popularity as I experienced it was in infographics. Because infographics were not so easy for journalists themselves to make,  but they did appeal to visual audiences, all it took was an OK designer and an OK idea to create an infographic that would gain links. I even made an infographic of infographics. I thought I was a genius. Meanwhile, in PR… Meanwhile in the world of traditional PR, PR pros were delivering fantastic campaigns which promised to build their clients’ brands and raise awareness of their causes. It was an exciting profession because it was both intangible and integral – something everyone wanted, no one could really measure why but the bottom line was that without it, businesses felt they were missing out. And that made for some really creative campaigns and different ways of thinking. As SEOs, we saw that and, like the magpies we are, we wanted it. The link builders amongst us recognised that PR was a tactic that would gain coverage and therefore links, that was total valid in Google’s eyes because it’s been happening for years without penalty. PR was, in many ways, the golden bullet for link builders. So we started to learn more about it. We invested in campaigns that were newsworthy. We created news hooks. We learned about the press landscape. We even started doing PR stunts. A new choice for clients/stakeholders At this point, we’d become a bit of a middle-man, not quite SEOs and not quite PRs but with the potential to develop our own very clear specialism. That’s what I love most about digital PR – it’s not quite done, it’s like the cake batter ready to be baked, but it’s really tasty nonetheless! For our clients and stakeholders looking to invest in our services, there was a shift. A few years ago, if my PR team was pitching for business, it was either against other digital PRs or, more likely, against SEO agencies. Today, though, we find ourselves pitching much more against traditional PR agencies too, with our clients making decisions between investing with us and investing with them. As a brief tangent, the way I see it is that this is a huge opportunity for traditional PR agencies to really hone their craft and own it – they need to stop trying to become digital and instead stand up for those things they do that digital PRs can’t to continue to develop their niche – like crisis comms, product launches, events and so on. This shift means that we are now being judged against SEOs and against traditional PRs. So it makes logical sense that we need not only to report on SEO-centric goals, but also on PR-centric goals. SEO goals for digital PRs The SEO goals we focus on as digital PRs have got to be link-based. Our job is to build links because links are votes and votes improve rankings. I can’t see a time when I’ll ever not advocate this. Here at Impression, we typically split out goals/KPIs into: Owned goals These are the goals we as digital PRs should own, specifically number of links, quality of links (DR), topical relevance of links (TF) and positioning of links (PR). Shared goals These are the goals we as digital PRs share with SEOs, specifically ranking improvements, traffic improvements and eventual revenue improvements. In order to capitalise on these shared goals, we need to be much more integrated with our SEO teams, and ask not only where we are building links to, but why we are building them and fully understand the SERPs landscape around our target terms and topics. PR goals for digital PRs When we look at how the top PR agencies position themselves, it’s all about storytelling, thought leadership and audience mobilisation. The thing that makes PR difficult to measure is that traditional PRs haven’t yet nailed it themselves, in my opinion. All this talk of advertising value equivalents (AVE), circulation figures and ‘outtakes’ is yet to really nail the intrinsic benefits of PR to the business’ bottom line – even if you have managed to gain coverage which would have cost £X to pay for, what was the value of paying for it anyway? We do, I believe, need to measure ourselves against PR’s goals. But we can’t just replicate what traditional PRs use because, frankly, it’s not good enough. More than anything, we need to focus on making our PR goals SMART – specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time based. That means taking the intangible and making it tangible. Awareness as a goal is very noble, but if you can’t measure your campaign’s contribution to awareness, what’s the point and how do you quantify the value? So I’d consider utilising traffic or ranking or even branded search metrics to make it measurable. Sentiment is something that’s often referenced by PRs and, in digital PR, I’ve seen agencies use social media listening tools to measure sentiment, though my concern is that not every campaign has a social element and therefore this isn’t necessarily a reliable metric across the board. Instead, we at Impression are currently experimenting with Google’s natural language processing API to see if we can utilise that to quantify sentiment – we’ll share the results when we have them. Broader marketing considerations for digital PRs As well as measuring ourselves against SEO and PR goals, we also need, I believe, to work on our own niche and on the creation of goals which are specific to digital PR. We are not simply a combination of two existing disciplines; we are a discipline in our own right and there are benefits to be derived from an investment in digital PR that you won’t get through SEO link building or traditional PR. I shared some of these in my presentation, and have spoken about the idea of funnel campaigns over on State of Digital previously, so I won’t reiterate here, but suffice to say, I’d like to see digital PRs contributing more to the evolution of our discipline by exploring new ways in which we can use our content to build audiences and drive revenue. How to get more from digital PR To summarise, my tips to get more from digital PR are: Be better SEOs; report on owned goals as well as shared goals – integration Be better PRs; report on the benefits beyond links, but make it measurable Be better marketers; think multi-channel, think integrated, think user first Our discipline is still evolving. We get to choose how. If you’d like to talk more about your digital PR needs, please get in touch, or I’d love to hear your comments on all of the above, either in the comments below or over on Twitter – I’m @lauralhampton. LiveBlogPosting Schema: A Highly effective Device for High Tales Success
New Post has been published on https://tiptopreview.com/liveblogposting-schema-a-powerful-tool-for-top-stories-success/
LiveBlogPosting Schema: A Highly effective Device for High Tales Success
Tumblr media
One of many nice issues about doing website positioning at an company is that you just’re consistently engaged on completely different tasks you may not have had the chance to discover earlier than. Being an website positioning agency-side lets you see such a big number of websites that it offers you a extra holistic perspective on the algorithm, and to work with all types of distinctive issues and implementations.
This 12 months, probably the most fascinating tasks that we labored on at Go Fish Digital revolved round serving to a big media firm break into Google’s High Tales for main single-day occasions.
When doing competitor analysis for the challenge, we found that a technique many websites seem like doing that is by way of use of a schema sort referred to as LiveBlogPosting. This despatched us down a pathway of pretty deep analysis into what this structured knowledge sort is, how websites are utilizing it, and what affect it may need on High Tales visibility.
Right this moment, I’d prefer to share the entire findings we’ve made round this schema sort, and draw conclusions about what this implies for search transferring ahead.
Who does this apply to?
On the subject of LiveBlogPosting schema, probably the most related forms of websites can be websites the place stepping into Google’s High Tales is a precedence. These websites will usually be publishers that commonly put up information protection. Ideally AMP will already be applied, because the overwhelming majority of High Tales URLs are AMP appropriate (this isn’t required, nevertheless).
Why non-publisher websites ought to nonetheless care
Even when your website isn’t a writer eligible for High Tales outcomes, the content material of this text should give you fascinating takeaways. When you may not be capable to immediately implement the structured knowledge at this level, I consider we will use the findings of this text to attract conclusions about the place the search engines are doubtlessly headed.
If Google is rating articles which can be up to date with common frequency and even offering rich-features for this content material, this is likely to be a sign that Google is attempting to incentivize the indexation of extra real-time content material. This structured knowledge could also be an try to assist Google “fill a gap” that it has by way of offering real-time outcomes to its customers.
Whereas it is smart that “freshness” rating elements would apply most to publishers, there may very well be fascinating checks that different non-publishers can carry out so as to measure whether or not there’s a optimistic affect to your website’s content material.
What’s LiveBlogPosting schema?
The LiveBlogPosting schema sort is structured knowledge that lets you sign to search engines that your content material is being up to date in real-time. This gives search engines with contextual indicators that the web page is receiving frequent updates for a sure time frame.
The LiveBlogPosting structured knowledge can be found on schema.org as a subtype of “Article” structured knowledge. The official definition from the positioning says it’s: “A blog post intended to provide a rolling textual coverage of an ongoing event through continuous updates.”
Think about a columnist watching a soccer sport and making a weblog put up about it. With each single play, the columnist updates the weblog with what occurred and the results of that play. Every time the columnist makes an replace, the structured knowledge additionally updates indicating current addition has been made to the article.
Articles with LiveBlogPosting structured knowledge will usually seem in Google’s High Tales function. Within the prime left-hand nook of the thumbnail picture, there can be a “Live” indicator to sign to customers that dwell updates are getting made to the web page.
Two High Tales Outcomes With The “Live” Tag
Within the picture above, you possibly can see an instance of two publishers (The Washington Put up and CNN) which can be implementing LiveBlogPosting schema on their pages for the time period “coronavirus”. It’s possible that they’re using this structured knowledge sort so as to considerably enhance their High Tales visibility.
Why is that this Structured Information essential?
So now you is likely to be asking your self, why is that this schema even essential? I actually don’t have the assets out there to have an editor regularly publish updates to a chunk of content material all through the day.
We’ve been monitoring Google’s utilization of this structured knowledge particularly for publishers. Tales with this structured knowledge sort seem to have considerably improved visibility within the SERPs, and we will see publishers aggressively using it for big occasions.
As an example, the under screenshot reveals you the cell SERP for the question “us election” on November Three, 2020. Discover how 4 of the seven ends in the carousel are using LiveBlogPosting schema. Additionally, beneath this carousel, you possibly can see the identical CNN web page is getting pulled into the natural outcomes with the “Live” tag subsequent to it:
Now let’s have a look at the identical question for the day after the election, November four, 2020. We nonetheless see that publishers closely make the most of this structured knowledge sort. On this end result, 5 of the seven first High Tales outcomes use this structured knowledge sort.
As well as, CNN will get to double dip and declare a further natural end result with the identical URL that’s already proven in High Tales. That is one other widespread results of LiveBlogPosting implementation.
In reality, this kind of dwell weblog put up was one in every of CNN’s core methods for rating nicely for the US Election.
Right here is how they applied this technique:
Create a brand new URL on daily basis (to sign freshness)
Apply LiveBlogPosting schema and regularly make updates to that URL
Guarantee every replace has its personal devoted timestamp
Under you possibly can see some examples of URLs CNN posted throughout this occasion. Every day a brand new URL was posted with LiveBlogPosting schema hooked up:
https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/us-election-news-11-02-2020/index.html https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/election-results-and-news-11-03-20/index.html https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/election-results-and-news-11-04-20/index.html
Right here’s one other telling end result for “us election” on November four, 2020. We can see that The New York Instances is rating within the #2 place on cell for the time period. Whereas the rating web page isn’t a dwell weblog put up, we will see beneath the result’s an AMP carousel. Their technique was to dwell weblog every particular person state’s outcomes:
It’s clear that publishers are closely using this schema sort for terribly aggressive information articles which can be primarily based round huge occasions. Oftentimes, we’re seeing this technique lead to outstanding visibility in High Tales and even the natural outcomes.
How do you implement LiveBlogPosting schema?
So you’ve gotten a giant occasion that you just wish to optimize round and are fascinated with implementing LiveBlogPosting schema. What must you do?
1. Get whitelisted
The very first thing you’ll have to do is get whitelisted by Google. In case you have a Google consultant that’s involved along with your group, I like to recommend reaching out to them. There isn’t a whole lot of info on the market on this and we will even see that Google has previously removed help documentation for it. Nevertheless, the shape to request entry to the Live Coverage Pilot is still available.
This is smart, as Google may not need information websites with questionable credibility to entry this function. That is one other indication that this function is doubtlessly very highly effective if Google desires to restrict what number of websites can put it to use.
2. Technical implementation
Subsequent, with the assistance of a developer, you’ll have to implement LiveBlogPosting structured knowledge in your website. There are a number of key properties you’ll want to incorporate akin to:
coverageStartTime: When the dwell weblog put up begins
coverageEndTime: When the dwell weblog put up ends
liveBlogUpdate: A property that signifies an replace to the dwell weblog. That is maybe a very powerful property:
headline: The headline of the weblog replace
articleBody: The complete description of the weblog replace
datePublished: The time when the replace was initially posted
dateModified: The time when the replace was adjusted
To make this a little bit simpler to conceptualize, under you could find an instance of how CNN has applied this on one in every of their dwell blogs. The instance under options two “liveBlogUpdate” properties on their November 3, 2020 coverage of the election.
Case research
As I beforehand talked about, many of those findings have been found throughout analysis for a specific consumer who was fascinated with bettering visibility for a number of massive single-day occasions. Due to how agile the consumer is, they have been really capable of get LiveBlogPosting structured knowledge up and operating on their website in a reasonably quick time frame. We then examined to see if this structured knowledge would assist enhance visibility for very aggressive “head” key phrases in the course of the day.
Whereas we will’t share an excessive amount of details about the actual wins we noticed, we did see important enhancements in visibility for the aggressive phrases the dwell weblog put up was mapped to. When trying in Search Console, we will see lifts of between +200% and +600%+ enhancements in YoY clicks and visibility for a lot of of those phrases. Throughout our spot checks in the course of the day, we regularly discovered the dwell weblog put up rating within the 1-Three outcomes (first carousel) in High Tales. The implementation seemed to be a serious success in bettering visibility for this part of the SERPs.
Google vs. Twitter and the necessity for real-time updates
So the query then turns into, why would Google place a lot emphasis on the LiveBlogPosting structured knowledge sort? Is it the truth that the web page is probably going going to have actually in-depth content material? Does it enhance E-A-T in any approach?
I might interpret that the success of this function demonstrates one of many weaknesses of a search engine and the way Google is attempting to regulate accordingly. One of many main points with a search engine is that it’s a lot tougher for it to be real-time. If “something” occurs on this planet, it’s going to take search engines a little bit of time to ship that info to customers. The knowledge not solely must be printed, however Google should then crawl, index, and rank that info.
Nevertheless, by the point this occurs, the information would possibly already be available on platforms akin to Twitter. One of many main causes that customers would possibly navigate away from Google to the Twitterverse is as a result of customers are searching for info that they wish to know proper now, and don’t really feel like ready 30 minutes to an hour for it to populate in Google Information.
As an example, once I’m watching the Steelers and see one in every of our gamers have the misfortune of sustaining an harm, I don’t begin to search Google hoping the reply will seem. As an alternative, I instantly soar to Twitter and begin refreshing like loopy to see if a sports activities beat author has posted any information about it.
What I consider Google is creating is a schema sort that indicators a web page is in real-time. This provides Google the boldness to know trusted writer has created a chunk of content material that must be crawled way more often and served to customers, because the info is extra prone to be updated and correct. By giving wealthy options and elevated visibility to articles utilizing this structured knowledge, Google is additional incentivizing the creation of real-time content material that can retain searches on their platform.
This proof additionally indicators that websites indicating to search engines that content material is contemporary and commonly up to date could also be an more and more essential issue for the algorithm. When speaking to Dan Hinckley, CTO of Go Fish Digital, he proposed that search engines would possibly want to provide choice to articles which have been up to date extra lately. Google may not be capable to “trust” that older articles nonetheless have correct info. Thus, guaranteeing content material is up to date could also be essential to a search engine’s confidence in regards to the accuracy of the outcomes.
Conclusion
You actually by no means know what forms of paths you’re going to go down as an website positioning, and this was by far probably the most fascinating ones throughout my time within the trade. Via researching simply this one instance, we not solely found out a chunk of the High Tales algorithm, but in addition gained insights into the way forward for the algorithm.
It’s completely doable that Google will proceed to incentivize and reward “real-time” content material in an effort to higher compete with platforms akin to Twitter. I’ll be very to see any new analysis that’s executed on LiveBlogPosting schema, or Google’s continuous choice in the direction of up to date content material.

2020 Word of the Year + KERF’s Future
It’s time for the 2020 phrase of the yr, a convention I’ve carried out for the previous few years.
2020 Word Of The Year
2020’s phrase is VISION.
I’m trying far out, previous January and even 2020 and asking myself: Where do I need to go?
Advice From Smart Women
I’ve been listening to lots of nice podcasts by sensible ladies – Jenna Kutcher, Brooke Castillo, Gretchen Rubin, and their friends. They emphasize high quality over amount. They encourage working smarter, not more durable. They suggest outsourcing what you don’t love so you may concentrate on what you do. Jenna Kutcher particularly has been SO inspirational. I need to be extra like her. I’m not saying I want a multi million greenback empire, however I’m asking myself what classes I can take from Jenna and apply to my very own enterprise.
search engine optimization Is The Best And Worst
In the final quarter of 2019, I employed HashtagJeff, a number one Search Engine Optimization guru, to carry out an audit on KERF and provides me some recommendation on the best way to clear up my website. I've 12 years of posts – over 7,200!! Let me let you know it has been a course of. The web has drastically modified since I first began running a blog (as you guys know!) Blogs was once diaries. Now we're anticipated to have useful resource facilities and write lengthy type content material that covers each angle of a subject. The sort of posts that KERF was based on, and the sort I get pleasure from writing, like a weekend recap, are thought-about “fluff.” They’re enjoyable for long-term weblog readers, however they do completely nothing to assist your web site develop. The excellent news is I've lots of older posts from 2013-2019 which have sensible and useful data. The dangerous information is nobody ever sees them as a result of they're buried in my archives and never written so Google can learn them effectively. One of my targets this yr is to upcycle a few of these posts, add a 2020 spin based mostly on my present mindset, and provides them new life. Another purpose is to make KERF extra consumer pleasant so readers each new and previous can extra simply discover my content material. I repeat: search engine optimization is the perfect and worst!!
What course will KERF go?
KERF was constructed on amount over high quality. I used to jot down 21 “fluff” posts every week. People was once shocked after I mentioned I revealed thrice a day, however I at all times replied that my content material was auto generated – I used to be at all times consuming extra meals! The web revolved round banner advertisements again then, so amount was king. The extra you posted, the extra pageviews you website acquired, the more cash you made. (My pageviews peaked the week Mazen was born hitting over 2 million that month.)
These days, search engine optimization aka high quality, is king. Writing about day by day life is straightforward. Creating the sort of high quality content material that's useful and offers worth takes a lot extra time. You can’t do each on the similar time with out maxing out your working hours or hiring a staff that can assist you. I don’t need to outsource my posts since you guys are right here for my voice not another person’s. Therefore, I've to sluggish my posting tempo so as to have the ability to present each high quality content material and catch KERF on top of things. I’m not going wherever, I’m simply shifting and evolving with the net phrase.
Those of you who've been studying about my life for 12 years – to not fear – I will nonetheless be writing about our lives and adventures. Just perhaps not as ceaselessly as regular. We will see. Plus there may be at all times Instagram for day by day life stuff. You can’t get far more actual than the sorts of issues present in Instagram Stories
My Future Focus
I’ve taken lots of time these previous few months to think about what my area of interest is. If it’s not sharing each.single.meal. anymore, then what's it? I’ve additionally requested myself what I like writing about probably the most. The two themes that I’ve settled on are: wholesome mindset and ease.
Healthy Mindset
This is the place actual meals and diet are available in. What I've at all times been drawn to is the psychology of wellness. What motivates us and the way can we flip selections into habits? Before changing into a Registered Dietitian, it wasn’t the micronutrients or physiology that me most. It was the aspect of diet that impacts conduct change and motivation. How does our mindset affect our well being?
Simplicity
This is the umbrella time period for all of my different favourite subjects: Home Neat Home, parenting, life hacks, budgeting, clear magnificence, work-life steadiness, leisure time, even vogue. My mind craves simplicity like I crave kale and oatmeal.  How can we steadiness easy with the chaos of on a regular basis life? How can we work and play smarter, not more durable? How can we create a house area that feels calm and orderly and enjoyable? How can we prepare dinner and meal plan with out spending all day within the kitchen?
How I Plan To Work Smarter
Usually after I sit right down to my laptop for a time frame, I'm waiting for the subsequent week and see 5 days of posts to fill. Often I’m so centered on a posting schedule that I rush by posts, desirous to verify them off the record. I discover myself overwhelmed and behind, which spills into time with my children. Rather than creating an inventory of posts that must go up on time to fill a calendar week (deadlines I created with no actual imaginative and prescient), I’d like to take a seat right down to a Three-Four hour block of labor time and work on no matter flows. If which means three posts for the subsequent week as a substitute of 5, then that’s what's going to publish.
I additionally need to have time to work ON the weblog as effectively: cleansing up my website, making posts simpler to search out, search engine optimization optimizing and upcycling older content material. Plus aspect initiatives: creating considerate emails for my lists, presumably writing an e-book on dwelling group, mentoring my Beautycounter staff.
V I S I O N
All this boils right down to: we work to generate profits. But additionally to offer our lives objective. Where do I need to be in 5 years? 10 years? I've thought-about letting KERF fade away, however I made a decision that may be such a missed alternative. I'm within the thick of parenting younger kids proper now, which makes steadiness a bit extra difficult, however I LOVE THIS BLOG. And I like all of you. And to step again could be enjoyable for a minute after which I'm 100% certain I’d remorse it. So as a substitute of stepping again, I’m stepping ahead, with new sparkly glasses, and saying: Where can I am going that can be thrilling, significant, useful, purposeful, and enjoyable?

Jaaxy was founded by individuals who have extensive experience in the field of internet marketing and online businesses. It is a keyword research tool that makes driving free organic traffic to your website an effortless task.
How Does Jaaxy Work?
The primary function of Jaaxy is to research keywords. When you utilize it, Jaaxy will provide you with a lot of information that is crucial to understand for your online business to grow. Here are the metrics that you will get from this keyword tool and how to use them:
• Related Keywords: Jaaxy suggests passwords that are closely related for you to go deeper into your keyword search
• To Do: Allows you to add your keywords to a to-do list
• Domain Search: Inspects and notifies you if there are exact-match domain names available for your selected keywords
• SEO Power: This metric tells you whether a keyword is good for SEO. The higher the number, the better. More than 80 is a good score.
• Keyword Quality Indicator (KQI): It is like a traffic light system that shows red, yellow, and green lights to group your keywords. Green is excellent, yellow is average, and red is poor
• Quoted Search Results (QSR): Shows you the number of webpages that compete for the exact keyword or phrase on the search engines. Jaaxy utilizes the latest technology algorithms to determine the actual state of competition within the search engines and offer the actual figure.
A lower number is better. If you are a beginner, target for low hanging fruit keywords that is lower than 100. 200 to 300 is also good, but beyond that, things begin to become more difficult for your website to rank.
• Estimated traffic: this is the actual monthly traffic you will get if your website ranks on the first page of the search engine results pages. It is the smallest estimated traffic for those ranks, so you can even become more surprised if you find even more visitors coming to your website.\
• Average Monthly Searches: These are the number of searches a keyword has each month. It is the total search traffic for the keyword on Yahoo, Bing, and Google combined. The advisable minimum is 50 searches per month if you want to write an article revolving around that keyword.
However, you still have various additional tools and features left to look into!
• Brainstorm: It is a nice feature that assists you in overcoming writer’s block or those moments when you are left with no more ideas for the type of industry to go for. It generates the latest trends from popular search engines.
• Affiliate Programs: After getting the keyword you require, you need to know if there is money in that specific niche. This feature finds affiliate products and programs for you to promote and make money.
• Search Analysis: shows you what websites or pages are listed on the top ten positions on Yahoo, Bing, and Google. It is excellent for providing information about your competition.
• Search History: it is used to remember your previous keywords even if you did not save them on your saved keyword lists
• Saved Lists: It compiles your keywords into lists to better arrange them by niche or topic. You just tick the ones that look good to you on the search results and save them to the keyword list. Then, you can use the keywords later to analyze and study how good they are in terms of competition and traffic. You can even export the keywords to evaluate them offline.
• Alphabet Soup: Uses the Google Instant feature to add words and letters to your keywords based on the actual searches individuals are making to provide long-tail keyword suggestions
• Site Rank: it is an excellent feature for checking how well your website or blog post is ranking. You can also utilize it to determine how the competition is performing.
Personal Experience with Jaaxy
I have been earning money online for eight years and use keyword research tools for direct advice on the way forward for my online business. I have been changing from one keyword research tool to another because I have not been fully satisfied with the packages they provide. They are excellent but way more expensive. About two years ago, I decided to try Jaaxy for my keyword research tasks.
Since I started using Jaaxy, I have not felt any need to utilize other keyword research tools. The developers have made notable changes and updates to it over the years, and each time they initiate various updates, it keeps becoming better and better.
In my online experience, I have not seen a better keyword research tool than Jaaxy, to be honest. As you can see in the jaaxy reviews, it is a tool you would want to try, and ultimately, you will end up enjoying.
Whenever I type in a keyword, Jaaxy also generates a list of other related keywords that I might be interested in and have not considered yet. I do most of my research like that – I start with an idea and then let the tool do the work of looking for keywords that I require.
That is great since sometimes I get keywords that I don’t have in mind or find out that the keywords I have are very competitive or have a low search volume. Jaaxy tells me all that with the information it provides.
Is Jaaxy Good and Why?
Without keywords, the search engines would not have a reason to exist. Nor would SEO. Keywords are not just crucial; they are essential elements of online traffic.
Keywords attract visitors to your content, and the visitors potentially become your clients, meaning you will ultimately earn money. That makes keyword research one of the most crucial parts of online business. Bypassing the keyword research process is like firing a bullet to your foot because things will only become more difficult for you.
That is why online keyword tools like Jaxy are crucial. Jaaxy will save you a lot of time because it is exceptionally fast. It helps online marketers find lots of new keyword ideas meaning success for their businesses.
As you can see from the features listed above, Jaaxy is an ultimate keyword research tool that you will ever require if you want better keyword recommendations.
Is Anything Missing?
Like all other tools, Jaaxy also leaves room for improvement. Here are some of the things that miss in Jaaxy keyword tool.
• There are various features that you will utilize much less or not at all
• The cheapest plan can become too expensive, especially for beginners to online marketing
• They don’t provide an option for choosing the language used by the users
• They don’t have an option to select whether you are targeting global or local searches – which can be crucial in various situations
Final Verdict
Based on the extensive research I did on the Jaaxy keyword research tool to write this review and my experience utilizing it, I can undoubtedly say it is excellent for many reasons. It is a reliable online keyword tool that is very straightforward to use and fun to work with.it provides detailed information about how competitive a keyword is, and it is swift.
It was developed by the same developers of Wealthy Affiliate, which gives it extra credit when it comes to trusting in what you will get. So, my final verdict could not be better and more positive.
Jaaxy is not just an exceptional keyword tool; it is the best one in its industry. If you don’t take my word for it, you can try it out for free. It is only a matter of trying it by yourself to see how it goes. The best part is that you can try it for free. You will not even lose a penny while using the free trial. You can even start earning without spending money on the keyword research tool.
Give it a try!

Give it a try!

mujihigi · 6 years ago
Photo
「HYPE NIGHT: 05/14/2019 starting at 8pm EST」 The Hype Night (05/14/2019) for the Mujihigi will take place in Goblet; Ward 18 Plot 34 at 8pm EST:  Entertainment! Gossip! IC Gil Betting! IC Gil Fighter Auctions!

Signups will begin with this post, and end on April 18th at 8pm EDT. If we reach 16 signups before then, they will close early! So even if there are more signups than spots, you and your character will be offered a chance to fight in a Prelim-Fight for one of the available spots in the real tournament.
Any and all fighters interested will be given a chance to participate in the story, but for those lucky 6 that make it into the brackets, we will be providing custom banners! See an example below.

HOW DO THE FIGHTS WORK?
Information about how the fights are run from a technical standpoint can be found here. Cut off is 04/18/2019 at 8pm EDT!
