Desperately needing HotD to get their timeline together, because with all the time crunching and back and forth on what their canon is, it’s hard to understand how anything is happening.

According to a Variety article, Mizuno said that Mysaria and Rhaenyra have known each other for half a year, not a week or two as I had been assuming. This would be on track with Fire & Blood, unlike Alicent’s comment that her husband had been alive not even a month ago in Ep4/5.

I do find the events far more plausible in the context of 6 months - the time is stretched out enough that all of it could happen, even with such horribly crammed development. It is much easier to see how Mysaria gained Rhaenyra’s trust, enough that she felt comfortable keeping secrets from her son - which would never be advisable if you only knew someone like Mysaria, a spy, for just a week or two. It’s also easier to see how the kiss happened, because it’s the intention of knowing the two knowing each other for so long, being truly vulnerable with each other, and finding some sort of comfort through intimacy - not just a random moment that seems somewhat out of place with Mysaria’s vulnerability.

It also means that Rhaenyra’s thoughts that Daemon was separating from her finally make sense. If it’s only been a few weeks, the only way to communicate is by raven, and the two of them are having a marriage quarrel, it’s a big stretch to say that the two have broken up and aren’t getting back together, especially when he was already set to go to Harrenhal. However, 6 months without a single message means a lot more, and is a plausible enough reason for the events that happen - even if the writing and character arcs are still terrible.
