I am in the very large discord server for an artist I like because it comes with their patreon. I do not engage with it more or less at all, because I generally chafe at large discord servers full of strangers.

I saw someone was streaming/screen sharing in that server, which I'd never noticed before, so I went to look to see whether it was the artist in question or just some server members. In the process, I accidentally joined the voice call.

It was not an art stream. It was like 5 people hanging out watching someone play a video game. One of them immediately said "who the hell is this" upon my joining.

The amount of times I open Twitter and will see a gif/gif set of mine either posted or screenshotted from a popular Marina account with no credit just to make their own point/parallel as if they made it themselves is super frustrating. And it just gets a bunch of engagement and nothing is said but when a fanfic or fanart is reposted, everyone is right there to make sure no one does it again and all hell breaks loose. And don't get me wrong, no one should ever be reposting anyone's work at all, so I'm glad that people say stuff about that, but I'll never understand why the same energy isn't put towards people's gifs and it's kind of just accepted by everyone.

Shoutout to the small group of people who will credit because I also see you guys around too. ❤️
