Sam resisted the urge (the strong, powerful urge) to roll her eyes as she opened the passenger door and was greeted by one of Chris's strangest character voices - something caught between the Queen of England and a southern belle - knowing full well that he'd take it as encouragement. "Hi Chris," is what she said instead, doing nothing to hide her smile as she climbed in and buckled her seatbelt, hoping and praying he wouldn't be doing the voice all the way to Josh's place, "ready for movie night?"
Ah, and her prayers were answered - he snickered and threw the car into reverse, backing out of her driveway while saying, in his regular voice, "I should be asking you that, I mean, you really think you can handle Gore-a-thon 2014, what with your delicate constitution and your love of all things soft, squishy, and...uh...full of blood and/or guts?"
That time, she did roll her eyes (after making sure his were fixed on the road, of course), heaving a dramatic sigh as she fired back a joke of her own, "You kidding, I've never been more excited - sounds like it's going to be a...scary good time."
"Okay, that's it, that was trash and I'm turning this car around."

today i am thinking about the holidays with sweet tetsu. i think we’d like to host a big holiday party because we love to play host to our friends and family ! everyone brings their favorite dish or cocktail they’d like to show off.
we end up breaking out the karaoke machine and everyone can belt out to their favorite christmas tunes ! we probably do a secret santa or something too just to do a little holiday gift giving ^_^
afterwards, we are probably so pooped LOL but it becomes an annual thing that just grows and grows over the years :3

Guess who might have 🎶whooping cough🎶
#its me and many other people at the summer camp i work at#today i took the morning off because ive been ill for a few weeks#i think the first week was a different illness than the one i currently have tho#i assumed it was what we call 'camp crud' because youre bound to get sick when youre around grimy kids#and living in close quarters with others and not getting enough sleep#but yesterday i felt like shit all day to the point of not being able to stand. so today i took the morning off#just to try and recover a bit. but at lunch my program director came in and said im going to the clinic later#and asked me who else ive noticed is sick#hes making a list because apparently a camper has fucking whooping cough. and its lookng like others might too#i told my sibling i might have whooping cough and they said#'seriously?! are you a street urchin from 1600s Europe?'#which is the worst thing anyone has ever said to me lol. im already on the brink of death and they just kicked me over#im desperately hoping its just crud and not whooping cough#because i have the opportunity to work the zip line this weekend for visiting alumni. with the woman i have feelings for#altogether its going to be a great time so im really hoping i can go. but i obv cant if i have whooping cough#anyway im gonna go back to napping bcuz thats all ive been doing today. that and coughing#if you pray then maybe add me into your prayers today. maybe manifest my health. ive been sick for weeks and i want it to be over

What’s up tumblr hope you had a super fun leap day. sparkle on. big news my first seed start sprouted while I was at work ✨
#might have to change the url bc I’m in my collard era lol#my day was alright#I ate some shrimp curry that I’d accidentally left out all night and was fine bc I’m a scavenger of a person#then bc I started to feel PMDD fatigue I laid in bed with great elan til my shift started#then I spilled coffee all over my work clothes bc I stuck it in a very sketchy travel mug someone left in our house at the last party#and I listened to Screamin Jay Hawkins on the ride to work which was fun#work was a bit chaotic but uneventful and got to spend a huge chunk of it outside#it seems I have way better ball control than I did when I was a kid. whyyy now. i was such a loser I could have used some athleticism#but I’m so glad it’s the weekend so I can go palliative care mode which is what I call my lizard brumation pmdd phase#and stopped by a friend’s house after work which was nice#really rejuvenating#then made a sort of weird frittata w/ beets peppers and potatoes bc I was too tired to actually cook#watched sense and sensibility 1995 and really liked it although I found myself wishing for a bit more anguish. sorry#and I think I might set out one of the frozen almond croissants to proof overnight so I can bake it for bfast tomorrow#will go for a very short swim but probably only about 30 min bc of aforementioned fatigue. then pick up yogurt and a silly little treat#and will have ****** and **** for dinner either tomorrow or Saturday which will be nice#but really hoping Saturday because **** **** ** **** lol#and then Sunday I’m trepidatious about because **** was like what are you doing Sunday and I’m like well I guess having a fraught and#difficult conversation about our dynamic! lol#I’m very lucky to have proactive friends who are good communicators. truly I do not deserve his kindness. but like. god. let me retreat and#lick my wounds!#i shan’t get into it. but just know I know how S&G felt#and then another work week but I’m starting to really get a feel for the routine and what works and what doesn’t#and I’m excited for my next few meal preps we got millet and kale gratin#and a Lebanese chickpea dish the name of which unfortunately escapes me atm#but my mouth is watering thinking about it. saw a vid and was instantly influenced and went to the pantry to see if I had the stuff and I#dooooooooooo#and I do feel like I’m beginning to get past the worst of [event] and its sadness

Funny things from yesterday's market - baby goats for sale and even one little girl carrying her little goat like an actual baby. I got told a lady was praying for my business, and all about the apostle Paul being a sail maker and Canvas worker. We talked about how he probably worked with hemp at that time. Cotton candy (candy floss) puffs bigger than people's heads. A little dude having a tantrum on the grass (like same dude, if I could I would) because he didn't get the right 3d printed dragon toy. A little girl dragging a unicorn on a leash, running from her mom (definitely one way to walk your unicorn lol) At least the music was fairly decent, even if overall it was fairly slow. (。-ω-)ﾉ
Work has been nonexistent. That is not good. I can't really advertise. I'm doing Fb/Instagram posts but idk how much good it's doing.(⑅ ‘﹃’ )
Parents went away for a few days, and basically (the first time) told me I was taking care of watering the plants in their yard, but didn't leave me any gas money. Gee thanks. It's only a 30+ mile round trip.（’-’*)
I'm really not digging the hot temps. Or the wind. Both are bad for fire season.(๑•́ ω •̀๑)
I'm finding it hard to find positivity right now. Le sigh...(ᴗ˳ᴗ)

It was a good thing there wasn't anyone else in the apartment with them - they both had their own reasons for standing on the couch, obviously, good reasons, reasons that had absolutely nothing to do with the spider scuttling across the baseboard, but other people might not have known that, and instead assumed they were scared.
Which they were not.
"Uh, uh, uh, okay, how about this," Max proposed, rummaging around in his pockets until he found a quarter, "heads, I win; tails, you lose."
Laura, eyes still glued on the spider she very much was not afraid of, nodded. "Yeah...yeah, that sounds - wait a minute!"
"Too late, coin has flipped, coin has been flipped, and - " before Max could finish, the spider dropped off the baseboard and onto the floor, and both of them recoiled, tumbling off the couch and into the danger zone.

FINAL MIDBLOCK ESSAY DONE!! I AM FREE!!
#FINALLY. have not been able to relax for like a month that’s the thing about the due dates being so far apart it’s great because you’ve got#more time but it also means everything just. lasts longer. anyway! done now. this one perhaps not my best work but it was harder than i#expected…my us government one will be rough but what else do you expect from 1500 words..and then my theory essay..my best hope for a good#grade perhaps…but we’ll see. the next lot aren’t due until january but im gonna start thinking about them now so im less busy over christmas#insane that that’s not too terrible a thought. uni is crazy when you actually enjoy your degree. anyway! for now i am going to enjoy the#rest of my weekend at home n me and my mum are going out tomorrow n im gonna buy some books with the voucher i haven’t spent since my#birthday in february and ill finally have time to finish the book im reading rn AND to do some writing..start chapter 2 : ^ )#woohoo!! aware no one gaf about any of this but i am first and foremost always the audience for my own posts so. this one’s for me..#(ridi's) bigmouth strikes again

Thanks! I feel the same way honestly. I have a lot of opinions about parenting and I can't say that I will be the perfect parent because that doesn't exist. I can't even say that my hypothetical future kid/kids will be perfect because children don't grow in a vacuum. I can only control what I do and say and try to be the best version of myself and hope for the best.
#i often hear people say that involved parenting is too difficult to be realistic or that modeling behavior is too hard#and yeah. yeah it is. it is one of the most difficult things a person can do. but who the fuck has a kid thinking it'll be easy?#kids are hard work and commitment. they should never be something done on a whim. you should never half ass raising a kid#and not to say that people should be perfect all the time or that people shouldn't have 'me' time#its just that i genuinely don't understand people who shove their kid into as many activities as possible to get away from them#or put all their hopes and dreams and expectations on them. if it's so easy and attainable to live up to your expectations as a parent#then do it first. you want your kid to have straight A's? great. show me your report card at that age#im just... kids are just people. and they just want to hang out with their parents and receive love and attention#and anyway ive lost my point im just very passionate about this topic#very passionate#when im older and financially stable I want to foster teenagers i think. i want to be there for them and model healthy adult behavior#and help them make that transition. i want to be that person for them. because everyone needs help and love and family#and honestly? my parents fostered kids my entire life. THEY MODELED THAT BEHAVIOR#i understand that family is not a given. i understand that family is above all else forged. and that applies to everyone#not just found family or fostering. if you don't know your bio child then can you really call yourself family?#family is *forged* regardless of the context. and if it isn't? if you skip that step with your bio kids? well thats a major fucking issue#anyway nothing but respect for my parents who bought groceries for my foster sister when she was out of care. FOR MONTHS#nothing but respect for my parents who took me with them to give my foster sister their old stroller when she needed it#nothing but respect for my parents who take in my old foster brother every weekend to 'babysit' because they know he isnt in a loving house#nothing but respect for my parents who adopted my siblings without a word when they asked#honestly they are why i am who i am today. i was a kid with adhd and learning disabilities who hated school#and now I'm an honors student and getting my doctorate. because they did the academia with me#and im not saying they did my schoolwork. im saying that they assigned books to read over the summer and we would read them as a family#and we would discuss the literary concepts and themes together as a family. i love dissecting media! and thats because of my parents!#it was a family activity! same goes for science and art and music#and coding and history ect ect#anyway im going off on a tangent but basically what im saying is that my parents didn't ship me off to camp every summer#we just did things as a family together. i remember the time and bonding with them. and i modeled that behavior#and not to brag but i think I turned out alright#anyway tangent over!
