I'm liking your fic from mountains so far!! What's the timeline of events?
Thank you so much!!!
Red dead online is set during late 1898 (specifically after June because there are graves that have dates during June 1898, so it'd have to be after that), and we know the Blackwater massacre happened in May of 1899, so there's about 11 months between the online story and the canonical story.
For my fic, these dates don't change, but I alter the original online story a bit. My boy is 19 years old in 1898, and four years ago he served six months in Sisika for a murder he didn't commit (just like the original story) and has been on the run since. During late 1894, at 15, he arrived in America in hopes of better opportunities, but was framed for murder not long after.
Back then, youths did go to adult prisons for periods of time before being sent to disciplinary schools, but considering that it was for murder? They absolutely would have kept him there. So six months into his sentence, early 1895, when the law was talking about hanging him, Horley and his boys broke him out during a transfer. He spent the rest of the year working for Horley and Jessica LeClerk, eventually avenging her husband, while living with Cripps and getting back on his feet.
So by the beginning of 1896, he was successfully running the trading business and making a new identity for himself. Fast forward to 1898, the boy is experienced enough to handle the day to day business on his own, only for a rough lookin' desperate cowboy to turn up at his camp <3

OKAY. Ended up watching Doctor Who with my sibling tonight, so I am presenting a series of revamped DW/MBS AU thoughts. Still very rambly and silly, but due in large part to the genius of @oflightningandstars and @nobody33333333, so a great deal of thanks to them :)
According to Bods' very clever idea, the Book versions of Mr. Benedict and Curtain are previous regenerations, and Show Nicholas and Nathaniel are their current regenerations. Of course, they are being set up as the Doctor and the Master of sorts: As two Time Lords who were friends and then enemies and the whole mess.
Mr. Benedict comes across Number Two when she's a small child, maybe ten or so, living in Victorian England (Because why not). She's been shipped off to boarding school and then orphaned, but the school is waiving her tuition and everything as a philanthropic public image stunt, at least until she's 18. However, she utterly hates it because she's the smartest kid there and while they let her skip a couple grades because she obviously couldn't stay in the class she'd been put in, they didn't care enough to evaluate her and acknowledge that she was far more advanced then their curriculum was prepared for. The other girls didn't like her, the teachers couldn't stand her, and the administrative people ignored her every time she tried to come up for a compromise or a way to make the system better.
She's outside crying quietly by herself because she doesn't want to go in to another class where she's mocked and derided and told to keep small and quiet, when, lo and behold, a random older man walks up to her. He's wearing a green plaid suit and has white mussy hair. He looks like he could be a teacher at her school, except he seems much kinder, and he asks her why she's crying. She tells him all about how she hates it at the school but she doesn't have anywhere else to go and while she does miss her parents, it's in a distant sort of way, because they were largely absent from her life and it was they who sent her to boarding school in the first place to teach her to sit still and shut up.
And he hugs her and offers her a biscuit, listening to her story until she's cried herself out and falls asleep. He'd be perfectly content to sit out there with her, except it's England and so it starts to rain, at which point he scoops her up and very carefully takes her inside his TARDIS (Which is disguised as a bookstore around the corner). After a bit she wakes up, and instead of feeling scared or upset, she feels safe, and like she's home for the first time since she can remember. He asks her gently if she'd like to be taken back to the school now, and he's spent so much time listening to her that she has the courage to ask, plainly and desperately, if she can stay. She knows, even as young as she is, that it's foolish. That he needs to take her back, that he's an adult, and that it would be irresponsible of him not to.
But, instead, he smiles at her as if the idea delights him. She can stay for as long as she likes, he says, and he'll still be able to get her back in time for tea. She's a little puzzled at this, until he whispers in a quiet, conspiratorial voice, as though he's telling her a great secret and trusts her to keep it safe, if she'd like to see something amazing. She says yes almost immediately, as for however strange this man is, she trusts him just as much as he seems to trust her. And what she sees certainly is amazing
Milligan is someone they pick up later, in a far corner of the galaxy at a time where humans certainly shouldn't have been able to make it there. He's alone, lost and confused, living on the streets and being largely ignored by the extraterrestrial inhabitants of the planet. He can't speak the language, and no one cares to take the time to understand the gibberish of some species they've never seen before. Number Two isn't very old, still, maybe in her early teens, and she stumbles across Milligan where he's sitting in an out of the way alley. He reaches out to the young girl with a desperation all too familiar to her, hoping that she might understand what he's saying.
She does, and though he looks half crazy in his muddled, panicked state, something in her lets her know she doesn't need to be scared. She tells him that she knows someone, a man who will help, a man who will help him find what he's searching for. She takes him to Mr. Benedict, and Milligan almost collapses in relief upon finding someone who understands him (And also from exhaustion). They work out that Milligan was taken, and his memories had been stolen. He isn't exactly sure where or from who, but he knows that he's missing something important. Something vitally important to him is missing, and while he isn't sure what it is, he knows he must find it again, even if Mr. Benedict doesn't want to help him.
Mr. Benedict quickly assures him that of course they will help him, and he's welcome to stay with them for as long as he's comfortable. Milligan thanks the two of them profusely, and while he's not exactly a stranger to space travel, his first trip in the TARDIS takes his breath away.
(And if he feels a strange need to look out for Number Two, maybe a bit more than another responsible adult would, that's his business and no one else's. Mr. Benedict looks at him sometimes with a strange sadness, as if he also knows that kind of hollow, aching loss that never quite leaves the lungs, but Milligan has yet to ask him about it.)
Rhonda they meet in what to Milligan is the future (And to Number Two the far future). She is living in a human settlement on a faraway moon, and she is the only child there. Her parents were prolific scientists, but when they passed away, she was left in the care of some of their colleagues who were rather too busy and self-important to handle a child. They relied on her intelligence and experience with her parents' research when necessary, but for the most part she was on her own. It was a lonely life, but at least she knew she was necessary, in that way that people who have never understood what it is to be truly loved do.
A few more years had passed at this point, and while Milligan had settled in with his new family, he still felt that there was something missing. He had regained a few memories, but nothing substantial enough for a man who had command of all of time and space to fixate on. To cheer Milligan up, Mr. Benedict and Number Two decided on a destination that would allow him to indulge the interest in chemistry he had recalled.
While exploring, Number Two, who is still not quite grown up but feeling that she'd rather like a moment away from her two slightly over-protective "fathers" (Seriously, it's as if she's never been on an alien planet before), wanders away. She comes across a girl, a few years younger than herself, hiding in a back storage closet and writing in a well-worn journal. She jumps a bit, but asks Number Two what she's doing. The older girl replies that she's just looking around, and asks Rhonda what she's writing about. Her younger sister (Because, even after only a few seconds, Number Two knows they'll be taking this girl with them when they leave) replies that she'd been recording notes on what the researchers were working on.
A few minutes later, Rhonda realises that this must be what real companionship must feel like, as Number Two has spent the whole time nodding and listening with great seriousness, and even adding a few thoughts of her own. She tells the older girl about how she came to be at the settlement, and how she's been hearing whispers of them sending her away. She really would rather stay, but in a falsely upbeat tone she adds that maybe leaving the settlement for the first time she can remember will allow her to make some friends.
This is the last straw for Number Two, and she announces that they're going to meet her family. Half dragging Rhonda, she swiftly navigates her way back to Mr. Benedict and Milligan, who are enjoying a presentation about compounds accelerating plant growth. Introductions are made, and Number Two watches smugly as her family grows. One of the researchers notices Rhonda, and comes over to tell her that a shuttle will be by sometime in the next day cycle to take her off-world, and officially enter her in the foster system. At Rhonda's panicked look, Mr. Benedict is quick to whip out his psychic paper and announce that, actually, they are the authorities responsible for taking this wonderful little girl off their hands.
Rhonda watches curiously as the exchange goes down, and is ushered to a strange little shop that turns out to be a great deal bigger on the inside.

part 1 - part 2 - part 3 - part 4 - part 5 - part 6 - part 7 - part 8
"I'm just saying, if the heat bothers you so much, you could cut your hair" Nancy points out, after declining Eddie's pleas for her spare scrunchie.
Robin sits on Nancy's lap, clutching the back of Steve's seat and she looks at Steve through the side mirror like she's afraid that he's about to go on a mission to defend Eddie's honor or something but Steve rolls his eyes at her. He's not that gone.
Or at least he knows how to hide it well.
Eddie's lost several of Nancy's favorite hair accessories and two weeks ago she bowed to never lend him any ever again.
Which, does not stop Eddie from asking her anyway at least once a day.
But the point is, even if Steve wanted to, Eddie's honor cannot be defended in this situation.
Nancy's leaning behind Argyle's back now to glare at the metalhead. Steve can see them in the rearview mirror.
Eddie gasps "I would never" he says, clutching his chest dramatically.
Steve secretly breathes a sigh of relief.
Johnathan chuckles at the wheel. "But you could" he comments, eyes on the road.
Steve can see Argyle subtly laughing and shaking his head out of the corner of his eye.
Today is a rare occasion, Jonathan is driving them in Steve's car.
The goal of Steve's rant earlier about having to drive them everywhere was to get Eddie to drive them, so Steve could sit shotgun and watch Eddie drive.
Instead, Jonathan had offered first and then Steve couldn't go in the backseat because he's in charge of their map.
But whatever, this is fine too. He trusts Jonathan and it is nice to get a break and to be able to fully turn around when he's talking to someone in the backseat.
"Jon, I would lose all my sex appeal, you don't get it" Eddie answers, getting a box of Twinkies from one of the many bags they packed and placed on the floor of Steve's car.
"I get it" Argyle chimes in, watching Eddie pull out a Twinkie and shaking his head no when Eddie offers him one.
"You'd still be sexy with short hair" Robin comments from her seat on Nancy's lap.
Everyone turns to look at her.
"What?" she shrugs "I can say that"
Nancy chuckles into her shoulder.
Steve opens their map again to stop thinking about Eddie's 'sex appeal', even as the guy is excitedly munching on a Twinkie in the backseat of Steve's car.
He's got cream in the corner of his mouth and he clearly put more in his mouth than he can comfortably chew. He's leaning one elbow on Argyle's shoulder, his hand holding half a Twinkie, his other hand holds his mop of hair up in a high bun, causing his cut off tank to sit barely covering his nipples, his tattoos on display and his armpit hair fully visible.
Steve's fairly certain nobody else in this car would get it, but to him the sight is mouth watering. The guy is practically irresistible.
"I don't think i would've gone on even half the dates I've gone on if i didn't have my hair" Steve muses, for something to say and to add to Eddie's point, even though he agrees with Robin.
Almost everyone answers with agreeable noises, except Eddie and Robin.
Robin snorts and says "You are relentless"
While Eddie says "You don't get dates for your hair" at the same time. In a tone that suggests he thinks this is an obvious thing.
"I mean- it doesn't hurt" provides Nancy, she sends Steve an apologetic look but Steve waves her off. It's a compliment as far as he's concerned, he loves his hair.
Eddie finishes his treat and opens a new one while everyone else gives their opinions.
"For a lot of people, hair is a big part of attraction" Jonathan is saying, trying to seem like he's not speaking from experience.
"Especially hair as luscious as Steve's" Argyle agrees, leaning forward to lightly comb the side of Steve's hair, making him laugh.
"Thanks, man" Steve says overlapping Eddie's response.
"And I agree!" he exclaims "I'm saying he doesn't get dates because of his hair." Eddie goes on, waving his new Twinkie around for emphasis. "People throw themselves at Steve, and always will, but it's not because of his hair" he repeats.
Steve feels his cheeks heat up but still asks "Then why?"
"Well, because you're very pretty!" Eddie answers easily, like everyone should already know this.
Steve keeps his eyes carefully trained on the map, like he needs to study it meticulously, right this moment, while they're in the middle of a highway.
His cheeks are burning up and he can feel it spreading to his ears.
"And that's if they don't know you!" Eddie continues "If they do know you they know you're kind and brave and strong ...and generous and funny. Who wouldn't want all that in a date?" Eddie finshes.
Oh I don't know, you? Maybe? Do you? Steve thinks.
"Even bald, people would still go crazy for you" Eddie adds, his words slightly muffled towards the end as he shoves almost all of the new Twinkie in his mouth but apparently thinks better of it, biting all but a small piece.
"Here. You want the rest of this?" Eddie offers Steve, talking through his mouthful, and presenting the small piece with his ringed fingers, right in front of Steve's face.
Without thinking, Steve leans forward and takes it with his mouth, his lips burning where they touched Eddie's fingers.
As Eddie retrieves his hand Steve realizes what he just did and how quiet the car got.
He sends Robin a panicked look through the side mirror as Jonathan awkwardly clears his throat.
"Argyle's got nice hair" Robin tries.
The car immediately fills up with enthusiastic agreement and Steve slowly breathes out.
He can't bring himself to look at Eddie as he chews on his bite. He practically licked Eddie's fingers. Unprompted! The guy probably meant for Steve to grab the treat and then eat it. If he even accepted it at all!
Steve feels like an idiot and he frowns at the map again, willing himself to ignore the goosebumps in his arms and the tickling on his lips.
He doesn't see Eddie worriedly staring at him for the remaining of their conversation, until Nancy takes pity on him and offers up her spare scrunchie to distract him.

Astronomodome's 2024 US Presidential Election Liveblog
First of all I want to say I have other stuff to work on today so I might not be super up to date with stuff but I'll try my best to give my thoughts as to what's going on.
So first, how do we tell who wins?
In the U.S., the popular vote doesn't decide who wins the presidency. Instead, we use the (much hated) electoral college. Here's a helpful visual.
Every state (and DC) is given at least three electors, usually more based on population (which is why states like California and Texas have so many). There are 538 in total. To win, a candidate needs more than half of these- half of 538 is 269, so a candidate needs at least 270. (Interestingly, it is possible for both candidates to receive exactly 269 electors, in which case the universe corrupts and we all die infinitely the House of Representative chooses who wins, with each state getting one vote.)
The national popular vote may not matter, but the popular votes of each of the states do. Whoever wins the popular vote in each state (except Nebraska and Maine bc they're weird but that's not too important) wins all the electors for that state. It's very all-or-nothing which is why a lot of people don't like it.
This is a map from election forecaster 538, one of many such organizations that use polling and algorithms and election magic or something to predict who is likely to win each state. They have a lot of good graphs and stuff to look at on their site if you want to learn more about the stats of everything. As the key notes, we can see which way each state is expected to vote, as well as a few states highlighted in bold as likely swing states.
Swing states are basically wherever the election is close and the number of electors is high enough to 'swing' the election. Basically, while all the other states are mostly decided based on precedent (though surprises are possible), these states could reasonably go either way. This is why both candidates hold so many rallies in Pennsylvania, for example- it's competitive, and they want to boost their chances of winning those electors by currying favor directly with those voters.
One thing this map doesn't show is what I lovingly refer to as the Bar. It looks like this. I bring it up because if you follow the election news you'll see it. A lot.
The arrows in the middle point to 269.5, the exact midpoint. Whoever reaches that midpoint by filling up the bar wins (the beige in the middle are the tossup states who could go either way).
For example, let's look at 270towin. (the forecast websites love their special numbers.) They have a fun interactive map where you can make the votes go wherever you want to see what would happen.
^ Here's their prediction based on consensus.
^ Here, I changed Florida so it votes blue. Not likely unless I can bribe enough officials to make it so my ballot is the only one that counts (fair and just). We can see that the Bar has shifted, and the blue side has almost reached the arrows. Let's see what happens if we add another blue state. Let's say... Georgia, for example.
Wow! If the states were to vote this way, the Democrats would win, even if all the other undecided states went red. Is it likely? No. But, well, how do we know that?
In short, we don't. But we can guess, and that's what polls are for. There are several different types, but the most important ones for right now are exit polls. They'll start coming out soon, I think. I'm not sure if they have to wait until all the polls close (so people don't see them and decide not to vote or something because of it) but I think they do, at least in some states. Exit polls are conducted right outside of voting locations as voters exit, which makes them more accurate than other polls. They're not free of bias, though, so as always take them with a grain of salt. They're the first indicator we'll have of how it went, but they're not the final numbers.
One ray of hope I want to point out is the currently infamous Selzer Iowa poll (not an exit poll but still relevant). Ann Selzer is a really trusted pollster, known for a long streak of accuracy. She published a poll a day ago that indicated that Harris was beating Trump (!) in Iowa (!!) by 3 points (!!!). Iowa is... not considered a Democratic state; it went for Trump last election by 14 points. So this is really surprising (understatement). And yes, it could mean absolutely nothing... but it certainly shocked a lot of people, including Trump, who tweeted angrily about it.
States count their votes in different ways. Some results will be out within the day, others might take weeks. But usually most states can be 'called' for a candidate before every vote is counted. This is because the leading candidate will have more votes than can be overcome by the other one, even if every vote counted was for them. The important thing is that, as polls close over the next couple hours, they'll be counting. I saw one report that said election officials in Idaho, for example, plan on counting every vote "before they go to bed that night," which I thought was kind of a cute way to put it. Most states will release vote counts in batches or by county, which means that other batches or counties might still be counting as others submit their counts. That last sentence had a lot of 'count' related words in it, huh.
One thing to note about vote counting is that absentee or mail-in ballots often take longer to be received and counted than in-person votes. This can cause a phenomenon called "blue shift"- basically, a lot of mail-in ballots are cast by college students (like me!) or people who live overseas, and those groups tend to vote more Democratic than in-person voters. That means that late in the counting process, totals will often shift more towards the Democratic candidate. Famously, this is how Biden ended up winning Georgia in 2020- initially it was forecasted to remain red, but it inched over slowly as mail-in ballots were received.
So, in short, that's how we figure out who will be president. I'll be keeping track of what happens tonight, but it's very possible we won't know who wins until tomorrow morning or even later. Let's hope for the best :)
#i hope this isn't too rambly lol#i wanted to explain how it all works and why certain information comes out when without being too confusing#2024 presidential election

hi I know shit is really bad right now but can I ask what the effects of the chevron decision will be
Hi! I'll try to explain it as thoroughly as I can so you can get a full understanding of the issue without getting too legal with it. Starting from the beginning - federal agencies are an arm of the executive branch; they're tasked with everyday enforcement and administration of federal laws. To make an agency, Congress passes a founding statute that delegates authority and tasks the agency with a broad mandate to regulate a certain thing. Obviously, Congress can't contemplate every single thing that that agency is going to have to regulate, right? So there's a lot of ambiguity regarding what exact agency power is and what they can do under their statute/s. Congress can pass laws to clarify ambiguity that give an agency more specific power, but we all know how dysfunctional Congress is.
Agencies promulgate rules and regulations under their statutory mandate and interpret ambiguous language in their statutes based on their technical expertise (ex: environmental scientists at the EPA). However, some of those rules get challenged in court by various groups who say that that agency doesn't have the power to regulate x. That's where the Chevron doctrine comes into play.
The case Chevron v. National Resources Defence Council from 1984, involved an advocacy group who challenged an interpretation of the term "stationary source," which the EPA redefined. The regulation had something to do with air pollution sources, and I can't even comprehend the complexities of all that went into that. Why, do you ask? Well, because I'm not an expert! And that is along the lines of what the court found - the judicial branch cannot substitute its authority for the technical expertise of agency officials.
The Court held that Congress implicitly delegates authority to agencies if not explicitly, and it is not the place of the judiciary to substitute their interpretation for that of experts. Other reasons included the fact that Congress is an elected, accountable body and the judiciary is not. This established 40 years of precedent that is a bedrock principle in administrative law and a doctrine called Chevron Deference. Under Chevron Deference, the courts had a very clear test: (1) Is the statutory provision ambiguous? and (2) Is that agencies interpretation reasonable/permissible?
The effect was that almost always, the judiciary deferred to an agencies interpretation except under limited circumstances. Since that has been overturned, it opens up so many agency rules and regulations to legal challenges. Now, judges get to decide whether THEY think the agency has authority and their interpretation is reasonable. The effect of that will be conservative justices in the federal judiciary will say "no, I don't think that's reasonable" to something they think is too liberal and ignore agency expertise on the issue.
Federal regulations touch every aspect of our lives - workplace safety, public health, student loan forgiveness, the environment, and essentially anything else you can think of. The Executive Branch relies on federal agencies to get anything done due to how polarized Congress is. Agencies are responsible for the day to day functions of our government. The effect is that allllll the rules and regulations that govern us can be challenged without deference to expertise. There is a lot of uncertainty in the realm of administrative law right now.

"but how do you watch something accidentally with french subtitles?" you may ask, and i may tell you that it's simple, because i love english, english is fun and versatile and incredibly useful in this world, but listening to some dutch music recently reminded me how much consuming dutch art for a change feels like doing stretches for my brain (i don't really notice what i'm missing out on if i don't do it, but it feels SO good when i do), and that had me pondering once again how to incorporate some german into my diet in a natural way, because if dutch is my language, then german belongs to people i love, german is the one used to tell family stories, german is a language that feels like home but that i use so little it always takes a few days of just listening before i remember how to speak without feeling like an idiot, and so i thought to myself, well, i know bad buddy has a whole list of subtitle options, and perhaps i can pull off a really neat trick here and get my fill of german while also spending some time with thai (with which i am having a torrid love affair this year) through a show i know almost by heart at this point, because i can process the german fast enough to still be able to listen to what i'm hearing (the spoken thai), and then as a bonus, i'd get to sidestep english entirely for a few brief but glorious moments, which is a thing so rare it's almost unheard of, and that would just be a win-win-win. however! it turns out german is not one of the many, many languages offered on youtube as a subtitle option for bad buddy (which is of course fine because in a grand way, truly, why would it). and they do happen to have french, which i then of course had to click just for fun almost as a joke just to see it play for a minute or so and definitely not any longer than that, and as it turns out, on a practical is-this-doable-for-me level french in this context worked out way better than i thought it might, which is why i got sucked in immediately, easily fascinated as i am. but this is also a language that has me reading just slowly enough that it takes all my attention to have any hope at staying caught up with the speed of the dialogue, which amounts to a situation that is, you know, not making me feel much closer to my german grandmother (or making me feel very much at all for that matter, because on the whole i have a deeply impersonal relationship with french), but that IS very unexpectedly making me think fondly of my high school french teacher who once wrote under an assignment that he really hoped i'd choose to do something with languages. and this is probably not what he meant, but i suppose i am doing that, yes. both by choice and because i stumbled and tripped and now i've watched several episodes of a french subtitled thai show in an attempt to find german input because i was listening to dutch music.
#the other thing i'm doing with languages is going fuck. shit. goddammit. what's the word for starfish in dutch#stervis??? wtf no?? and then i limp over to google like a shot deer and go 🥺 ? help? and google kindly offers me the word zeester#and then i'm like huh. i know thai goes the english route (plaa dao! literally fish+star) and starfish vs. seastar is ALMOST the same thing#but it also crucially isn't. this thing is not a fish. that's wrong. it's a star of the sea! i think the dutch have got it right here#and then i go through a list of languages and start tallying which side of this debate i just made up they come down on#and this is an incredibly biased line up but you know what. zeester. seestern. étoile de mer. estrella de mar. stella marina.#i feel less confident in claiming things like морская звезда and søstjerne but as far as i can tell they're in this camp too#sorry to the english but you really ARE the odd one out here in europe. what are you DOING. we all agree this thing is not a fish#< and crucially i go through all of this and THEN i end up on the english wikipedia page for starfish#which opens with the words (imagine a long pause here for dramatic effect)...... 'Starfish or sea stars'#sea stars!! i've never heard that used but hey. i guess all hope is not lost for you english.#she's a little confused but she's got the sea star#*

I know twisted wonderland is disney branded but i thought it was owned by disney japan? I was told that regular disney and disney japan aren't exactly the same entity so does boycotting twst and related merch actually do anything? Genuine question!
I'm no business expert or anything, and do correct me if I'm wrong, but I think disney jp is just a geografic division for the walt disney company (that is donating 2 million dollars and siding with Israel, cough) so like this, probably whatever disney jp owns goes to disney company in general too. (I find it difficult to think that whatever profits the japanese division makes stays in that section exclusively 🤔)
Boycotting disney properties include things like their streaming service, the parks and whatever they make, and I don't see how their games section would be any different or disconnected from all of those others in any way. Buy hey, until I find out that maybe, in some crazy twist of fate, that a super profitable gatcha game doesn't give back to Michael the Mouse himself, I'd rather be safe than sorry and hold myself back from buying some keys for that cool character card at this present moment. It's like very very least thing we could do
#hope the way I phrase things isn't too confusing but aaah you get my train of thought in this right#feel free to add to this though!#if anyone knows more details about it

So nice I did it thrice., Pathetic fallacy
Summary:
Andromache whispers into the silence, “You don’t remember, do you?” Nicolò is still looking at Yusuf as his mind begins to take him back. It’s the feelings first. The shift in gravity, then the all-encompassing bitter cold. No deck beneath his feet, no tether to hold. A great nothingness for eternity. He flexes his toes against the wood floor. Solid, still, stagnant. “No,” he says.
--
Decades into their relentless search for Quỳnh and shortly following a disastrous event that threatened their numbers, Andromache, Nicolò, and Yusuf rest in Iceland where the seasons seem to be moving backwards and forwards at once.
#the old guard#tog fic#sage writes#yuhh here it is#probably looks confusing with the drawings with no context i apologize#can't believe this huge project is finally finished...#i do not know how to explain this one tbh. i hope the synopsis isn't too vague. it is supposed to be set in the canon timeline#and be canon compliant. but we know next to nothing about this period of their lives so there's a lot of headcanon in there.#i think at this point i'm known for angst and putting nicky in Situations. he's okay this time though dfgvgfds

"It’s Not Too Bad When You Get Used to It" by IneffableDoll
T, 8 chapters
CHAPTER 1: 3.3k
Following Armageddon’s failure, Aziraphale and Crowley perform the bodyswap, prepared to be captured by Heaven and Hell. But after both factions fail to show up the next day, the angel and demon must pretend to be the other for much longer than anticipated… Hilarity ensues, feelings are felt, and no one anticipated so much breakfast being involved. But that’s ineffability for you. * Prewritten; will update every three days until completion. Come back on December 29th to binge!
A silly romp of Aziraphale and Crowley poorly playacting as each other, with fluff and feels because I can't help myself. Queerplatonic, aroace, lots of banter and humor! Book vibes and characterization with season one canon.
#gotta be honest i really love this fic#it has been SO fun to write and I really hope folks will enjoy it#i also hope the bodyswap part wont be too confusing as you try to visualize it while reading cuz I struggled sometimes lol#anyway! off i go to do some final edits on the last few chapters! wahoo!#good omens#good omens fanfic#good omens fanfiction#asexual#aromantic#queer#queerplatonic#bonus fun fact for ya if you're still reading these tags for some reason#i didn't actually intend for them to be aro in this one#but they gradually became just SO aro as I wrote that by the end#my intention to do a whole love confession first kiss thing didn't feel right at all#which isn't to say that they don't love each other or the ending isn't soft as Somewhere#cuz they do. and it is.#but yeah accidental aromanticism! we love to see it
