After The Blight
A timeline of the Hero of Ferelden’s movements and notes about their activities after the end of the Fifth Blight
I just wanted to collect it together somewhere. Obviously it does not apply if the Hero performed the Ultimate Sacrifice, although sections of it will apply to Orlesian Warden-Commanders. This is a mixture of canon information, suppositions and headcanons (so it’s a mix of a reference post and personal notes about my own HoF). The latter two things are clearly marked as such. This post has been updated. (Tevinter Nights spoilers under cut)
9:30 Dragon - Fifth Blight begins.
9:31 - Fifth Blight ends, events of DAO end. The Fereldan reign or service to the crown of Queen, Prince-Consort and Chancellor HoFs begins. The HoF studies the Blight. There is an investigation effort into the darkspawns’ remaining secrets.
supposition: shortly after the coronation of Ferelden’s new monarch[s], the HoF answers the First Warden’s summons to Weisshaupt and travels there to report about the Blight. if the Dark Ritual was performed, they avoid mentioning it, despite the pertinent questions they are asked about why no Warden died killing the Archdemon. suspicions in the order abound
supposition: if Avernus continued his research in some form, the HoF begins working with him around this time
personal headcanon: Dog never left HoF’s side after the Blight, because why would he? I know what it says about replenishing in the kennels, but that could easily be done during HoF’s many trips to Denerim
9:31, 4 months post Blight - Zevran has now begun his quest to dismantle the Crows, so romanced Zevran has most likely left HoF’s company by this point.
9:31, 6 months post Blight - Queen HoF marries Alistair in lavish ceremony. If Alistair was romanced, they then tour Ferelden. Prince-Consort HoF marries Anora in lavish ceremony.
note - The timings of the events in the expansion, DLCs and DA2 Act 1 are a bit squashed and inconsistent, which is why things in the upcoming segment get a bit janky
17th of Ferventis, 9:31, 6 months post Blight, post royal wedding - The Darkspawn Civil War/Amaranthine Conflict and the events of Awakening begin. The HoF had been promoted to Commander of the Grey, Ferelden’s Warden-Commander. They travel to Vigil’s Keep having been tasked by the order with rebuilding the Wardens’ presence in Ferelden and dealing with the remaining darkspawn plaguing the nation. Romanced Warden Alistair could not join them as he had been assigned to the Warden parties in charge of the Thaw Hunt (a hunt for remnant darkspawn pockets). Romanced Zevran could not join them as he was away hunting and being hunted by the Crows. Romanced Leliana could not join as she was summoned for an audience by the Grand Cleric.
supposition: HoF’s promotion was given to them during their time at Weisshaupt. it’s both a reward for their service during the Blight and a maneuver by the First Warden to capitalize on the HoF’s reputation and the post-Blight state of Ferelden (which was weakened and freshly appreciative of Wardens). the goal was to leverage the Wardens back into prominence and power in Ferelden
9:31, 12 months post Blight - This basically brings things into ~9:32. The Darkspawn Civil War/Amaranthine Conflict and events of Awakening end. If the Architect was spared, other Wardens in other nations are appalled, but the Wardens think the ensuing conflict between groups of darkspawn might make the Deep Roads safer. If the Architect was spared, HoF begins work of some kind with the intelligent darkspawn and has interactions with them in the coming years (in 9:37, Warden Nathaniel calls these darkspawn “The Warden’s allies” and mentions information these allies provided the Wardens with). Soon after what happened with the Architect, if Avernus continued his research in some form, HoF sends him information about the Architect.
personal headcanon: HoF names Nathaniel Howe their second-in-command. Nathaniel becomes Constable of the Grey, Warden-Constable of Ferelden
favored headcanon: HoF names romanced or befriended Warden Alistair their second-in-command. Alistair becomes Constable of the Grey, Warden-Constable of Ferelden
9:31 - If Avernus continued his research in some form, Hawke finds a very important set of Warden letters and documents from the HoF intended for the First Warden, on a dead body on the Wounded Coast in the Free Marches. HoF dispatched the messenger from Ferelden via Amaranthine to go to Weisshaupt by way of Kirkwall, possibly with the aid of an agent in Kirkwall. The courier was most likely dispatched from Vigil’s Keep. Something had happened that the HoF is concerned about and wanted to inform the First Warden of ASAP. Enclosed was a message from Avernus to the HoF. This message indicates that the HoF has been working and corresponding with Avernus to aid his research, including sending him shipments of supplies. Avernus’ research has made progress but also revealed some alarming implications, and he urged the HoF to inform the FW at once.
supposition: “supplies” includes live subjects, as in sentient beings (Ghilan’nain would be proud)
supposition: due to everything with Avernus if he continued his research, it’s around now that seeds begin to be sown in HoF’s mind of finding a way to escape the Calling
personal headcanon: the agent in Kirkwall is Varric Tethras, or one of his people. after all, he is an information broker, spymaster and someone who knows everyone
~9:31 - The events of The Golems of Amgarrak take place. HoF investigates Amgarrak Thaig after being invited to Orzammar by Jerrik Dace, on a search mission to find a lost expedition. Most likely takes place after Awakening because Jerrik sent a letter requesting aid to Vigil’s Keep.
personal headcanon: the HoF has contact here with House Tethras, who canonically funded Jerrik’s search mission
9:32, nearly 1 year after the Archdemon’s death - The events of Witch Hunt take place. HoF searches for Morrigan through the Korcari Wilds, Cadash Thaig, Kinloch Hold and the Dragonbone Wastes. If HoF romanced Morrigan, they may vanish with her through the eluvian. In some universes Kieran has now been born. For some HoFs, they now meet their son for the first time.
supposition: it’s now that Morrigan tells some HoFs about the leads she found that point to the western lands as a place where a cure for the Calling might be found. if HoF didn’t leave through the mirror, some HoFs may now find that the “gift” Morrigan left them along with the stolen Dalish book is information about these leads. do note that some HoFs are implied to have come into the knowledge without Morrigan’s involvement
supposition: 9:32, post Witch Hunt - It’s now that HoFs who romanced Zevan travel to Antiva to reunite with him for a time, their expansion and DLC-business being concluded. they do what they can to help him in his Crow quest
9:32 on, for a time - HoFs who romanced Morrigan, fathered Kieran and left through the mirror help Morrigan raise Kieran for a while. This goes on for a long enough time that the roughly ~10 year old Kieran clearly remembers his father in 9:41.
supposition: much of this family life took place in hidden, secret places, some of which are in Thedas ‘proper’ itself and some of which are in the Crossroads and places reached via the Crossroads
supposition [?]: 9:32 on, til leaving / ‘mysteriously vanishing’ in ~9:40 - HoF most likely based out of Denerim Royal Palace and/or Vigil’s Keep, being largely occupied in this period with the duties involved in being Queen, Prince-Consort, Chancellor and/or Warden-Commander of Ferelden. The former would involve such things as advising, often being seen at court, helping to rebuild Ferelden in the wake of the Blight, and resisting the influence/incursions Orlais attempt around this time. The latter would involve such things as recruitment, training, establishing bases, sending annual reports to Weisshaupt, scouting, clearing remnant darkspawn activity, rebuilding Vigil’s Keep and/or Amaranthine, overseeing the arling etc. It’s also likely that Warden business would take them to other parts of Thedas at times. Romanced Zevran and romanced Leliana both assist when they can with rebuilding the Wardens, without officially joining. Depending on HoF’s actions during the Darkspawn Civil War/Amaranthine Conflict, potential events such as a riot of common folk at Vigil’s Keep can occur here. HoF continuing to actively serve in the Wardens during this time probably isn’t just supposition due to how they and Warden Alistair can refer to their duties in 9:41. Still, there’s lots of space and flexibility in this period for headcanon, for example to include things from the ‘rumors’ and such listed at the end of this post.
supposition: HoFs who romanced Zevan are involved on and off as they are able in this time period with his Crow quest, helping when they can. “on and off” refers to their involvement in his quest, not their relationship. canonically around this period Zevran is known for high profile kills of Guildmasters and having some of the others in his pocket. by 9:34 he has 2 out of 7 Guildmasters in his pocket and has killed at least one other along with Eoman, 2 Grandmasters, and 4 other members of House Arainai
personal headcanon: HoF establishes Soldier’s Peak as a secondary and proper functioning Warden base in Ferelden, and it comes to rival Vigil’s Keep
personal headcanon: HoF grows increasingly dissatisfied with the actions and attitudes of the Wardens (primarily the First Warden and other leadership in the Anderfels) during this period, and in the later years begins to consider making a play for power and seizing the First Warden’s seat
~9:33, 1 year after Darkspawn Civil War/Amaranthine Conflict ends - If HoF saved the city of Amaranthine, it is finished being rebuilt. Relevant because it is part of the arling goings-on, which is currently in HoF’s hands.
personal headcanon: 9:34 - HoF visits their clan near Kirkwall, having sent word ahead to Merrill. HoF is able to see Merrill and Marethari again prior to Marethari’s death in Act 3. this ties in handily with the timeframe when Warden Stroud/Alistair passes through Kirkwall on a mysterious important Warden mission. HoF, in the company of this Warden party (which includes Warden Carver), meets Hawke and is reunited with Anders/Justice and Isabela. HoF meets their contact Varric in person for the first time
~9:36, 5 years after Darkspawn Civil War/Amaranthine Conflict ends - If HoF saved the city of Amaranthine, Vigil’s Keep is finally finished being rebuilt.
supposition: ~9:37 (dependent on when Hawke did MoTA) - Not long after Hawke kills Corpheus, HoF begins digging for information about him much like the DAI Warden contact. HoF is investigating rumors they had heard and found about him, being concerned that he would be able to jump host bodies on death like an Archdemon. This happens in romanced Warden Alistair worlds in tandem with Alistair, and I don’t see why it would be exclusive to those. This can technically occur anytime between 31 and 37, but 37 makes the most sense for this to happen, as I can’t see HoF sitting on Corypheus knowledge for almost a decade before he rose
9:37 - Queen HoF is at home in the Royal Palace in Denerim when King Alistair meets Hawke in Act 3.
supposition: Prince-Consort HoFs, Chancellor HoFs, HoFs who remained King Alistair’s paramour, HoFs who were friends with King Alistair and potentially some others are also at court in Denerim at this time, either visiting or in a less temporary manner, depending
9:37 - Hawke meets Warden Nathaniel and possibly their Warden sibling in the Deep Roads. The First Warden had ordered an investigation along Hawke’s Deep Road expedition route, as Hawke went further into the Roads than anyone believed possible and the Wardens are interested in the primeval thaig. The Wardens obtained directions from Bartrand and were prepared to do extensive excavations around the thaig using explosives.
supposition: HoF had some involvement in the above, for example overseeing, organizing and decision-making on a level more local than the First Warden’s initial order
personal headcanon: Hawke’s Warden sibling has been under HoF’s command in recent years
personal headcanon: 9:38 - HoF accompanies Alistair during the events of The Silent Grove, Those Who Speak, and Until We Sleep. these events canonically take longer than 3 weeks, probably ~2 months. their travels take them to Antiva City, the Tellari Swamps, Ventus, Seheron and the Fade. HoF is reunited with Sten and Isabela, and meets Maevaris
~9:40, before Cassandra interrogates Varric - HoF departs on their long-ass quest to the west to find a cure for the Calling. Romanced Zevran accompanies them. Their journey takes them far out of the areas where Corypheus is operating, to lands untouched by Blight. Cassandra initially seeks HoF now, but cannot find them, most likely because they’ve left. Romanced Leliana couldn’t go because Justinia called on her for help. Romanced Warden Alistair stays behind to investigate the mounting concerns in the Wardens with corruption in the ranks, Corypheus, Wardens disappearing and the false Calling.
supposition [?]: Awakening Warden companions that we’ve not heard from again - so Velanna, Sigrun and Oghren - accompany HoF on their quest, explaining why they haven’t resurfaced
personal headcanon: in the months prior, HoF began to grow concerned about stirrings of strange behavior in Warden ranks, much like the DAI Warden contact
9:41 - A letter arrives to Weisshaupt from the new Warden-Commander of Vigil’s Keep. Around this time Clarel is noted to have stopped writing to Weisshaupt.
supposition: there is a new Warden-Commander because HoF has now departed on their quest. the new one could be temporary in the interim or a permanent replacement. the new one is possibly whoever HoF promoted to Constable of the Grey / Warden-Constable of Ferelden, as Wardens of this rank are second-in-commands who step in when the Warden-Commander is away. [headcanon note here: if HoF had elevated Alistair to the position, it’s possibly now occupied by someone else given Warden Alistair soon goes into hiding after becoming concerned]
9:41, mid-Inquisition - It proves difficult, but Morrigan, Alistair or Leliana facilitate Inquisition contact with the HoF and an exchange of letters between HoF and the Inquisitor. HoF signs their letter “Warden-Commander”.
supposition: given how they sign the letter, it doesn’t seem that they have officially stepped down from the role yet. alternatively, a Warden can continue to use the title after stepping down, or this is an inconsistency. I think it’s most likely the new Warden-Commander in the Weisshaupt letter above is acting-WC at this time point
~9:44, post-Trespasser - HoF has returned from their quest to find a cure. If they romanced Leliana, they rejoin her. If Leliana is Divine, HoF is often seen at her side. If not, their respective responsibilities often keep them apart, but whenever they can they spend time together at a villa on the Waking Sea.
supposition: HoF didn’t come back until now, as they are not mentioned in the base game epilogue. their quest really took years
supposition: All HoFs return now, because why would only Lelimancers make it back?
supposition: HoF found a cure, given the fairly light tone in the romanced Leliana epilogues. if so, they probably step down from being a Warden, as Fiona was not allowed to remain in the Wardens after being cured
supposition: If HoF romanced Morrigan or Alistair or married Anora, they instead rejoin their respective LI, or LI and child in the case of Morrigan sometimes. Leliana, Morrigan and Warden Alistair as LIs in DAI all express the same sentiment of what amounts to “this time, when we rejoin one another, we intend to stay together”. romanced Zevran here was already with them, having gone on the quest
supposition: At this time point HoF clearly still has some continuing responsibilities of some form. work with the Wardens in an advisory capacity? ongoing service to the Fereldan crown? there’s lots of space and flexibility now for headcanon, for example to include things from the ‘rumors’ and such listed at the end of this post
supposition: It appears Leliana tells romanced HoF of the troubles to come (’for both saw the troubles that were to come’). presumably this is a reference to the Dread Wolf and related threats. I assume she would tell this to any HoF that she was good friends with
personal headcanon: the cure for the Calling is distributed to Anders and Carver. whether it’s distributed to all Wardens or made common knowledge to all Wardens is debatable
personal headcanon: HoF ‘takes care of’ some of befriended Divine Leliana’s enemies. I especially favor this headcanon with romanced Leliana
~9:44, post-Trespasser, probably into 9:45 - ‘The Bard’ reports a sighting of an unspecified Warden-Commander in an auctionhouse in Llomerryn, talking to disguised Divine Victoria. This Warden-Commander’s identity is left unstated, and this story of the Bard’s, or this part of the story, seems like it was made up.
supposition: this was made up and never happened, given the context. I do love the allusion to the apparent contact and scheming between HoF and romanced or befriended Divine Leliana, though
----------
There are also lots of things that the HoF was rumored or can be suggested to do post-game in the DAO and expansion epilogues. If desired, these could easily be woven into headcanons and stories to help fill the periods where there are large timegaps. You could also headcanon in HoF appearing with romanced Zevran and romanced Leliana at various timepoints when they resurface in the narrative, for example.
continue to have unspecified adventures and travels
travel with Sten to Par Vollen
travel with Wynne and Shale
dwarves: return to Orzammar, potentially Paragon duties
Mahariel: return to their clan
Tabris: potentially Bann of the Alienage duties
Cousland: return to Highever, help Fergus rebuild
and so forth

You write so romantically about flip and all the sweet things he’d do with and for you! I wonder what your thoughts are on kylo being romantic? Like, if he took a weekend to just be with you, how would he be romantic/sweet/etc with you? Obviously, there’d be lots of amazing fucking too! What would he do in between or after? And what does he like from you in the fluff Dept?
Hello! Please accept these headcanons for our favorite Supreme Leader! :)
He works hard, keeping the galaxy in order. He’s always off on some mission or another, off in some far corner of the galaxy, trying to keep things under control. He works hard -- but so do you.
It would seem that for every mission he goes on, you go on two. You manage the galaxy from the star destroyer you call home, yes, but you work hard with your charitable organizations, your diplomatic meetings, your negotiations for peace within planets under your rule.
You both work hard, and Kylo, in all his Supreme Glory, likes to reward you.
He’s so romantic, when he gets a chance with you. He makes time for you, always. He designates a full week with you every month. A full week away on a beautiful planet somewhere, one of the many resort countries, or the scenic planets under your rule.
He’ll whisk you away, often he won’t even tell you where he’s taking you, wanting it to be a surprise. He’ll simply tell you how to pack, and when to be at the hangar bay.
But it’s always magical, always. Always bright sunny beaches or cascading waterfalls, sunsets over tropical mountains and castles perched on sheer cliffs.
There are no guards, on these trips. You don’t need them, he’s security enough for you, can protect you from anything. You take the advantage of being alone, just the two of you, to picnic in tall soft grasses and steal exotic fruit-flavored kisses.
He fucks you happily, leisurely, lazily, the two of you grinning into gasps and moans in the bright sunshine. You love the sun, you ask for it all the time, ask to be fucked with the sun on your skin. It’s so cold in space, you always say, you take advantage of the warmth of being planet-side.
He’s soft, with you. He doesn’t show that side often, not when other people are around. He has no desire to, to appear anything other than ruthless, merciless, bloodthirsty. And he is all of those things, but he’s soft too.
He’s soft with his head in your lap near the ocean, as you feed him frozen berries that he crushes with his strong teeth, as you comb your fingers through his hair and read aloud to him from the datapad you bring along.
He’s soft when you chase him around the palace halls, soft when he chases you back, when he hoists you up over his shoulder and parades you about, your sheer robes flowing and glowing in the morning light.
You enjoy long and plentiful meals together, sitting so close to one another even at a big grand table. You go on walks, exploring cities where people bow to you and throw festivals in your honor. You visit sacred places, pay your respects to the customs of the people you’re visiting.
Kylo knows you work hard, he knows. It isn’t easy being an Empress, there are challenges you deal with that Kylo never could manage.
So when he takes you away for that weekend together, it’s as if all time stops, and all is calm in the universe -- your universe, that you rule together.

FEDYOR + REWRITTEN CANON.
this post includes fedyor’s major relationships, as well as my canon divergencies through the trilogy (including before and after the books as well). fedyor is mainly book based, though i am taking aspects from the show including his relationship with ivan + parts of his personality. otherwise though, i am headcanon based, as fedyor was much more of a background character, and i’m writing him as having survived through the ending of siege and storm / ruin and rising. i am exclusive to nick’s ivan, and shelleys nina, and they play major parts in all events of fedyor’s canon. (under the cut for length, personals do not interact).
relationships:
the darkling. fedyor finished training a few years after ivan did, however was equal to his level of power (sans amplifier). however he didn’t catch the darkling’s eye only because of his power; because of the amount of time that fedyor spent with ivan, he was constantly around to gain his favor. the darkling found he was incredibly trustworthy, and while he doesn’t have the same favor that ivan does, fedyor still has more loyalty for the darkling than anyone else (except alina, when she comes into the picture). fedyor doesn’t have the title of oprichniki, at least officially, unlike ivan. but he is considered to be one of the oprichniki by ivan and the rest of the guards, as he is second to ivan. the darkling trusts him less as a personal guard, but more in the form of carrying out missions he’d trust few others with (like finding nina, though this isn’t something i have as part of my main canon).
ivan (@trustbutvcrify). when fedyor finished his training, he noticed everyone giving a wide berth to ivan, as he was known to be kind of a dick and he was the darkling’s favored heartrender. fedyor was not one to back down from a challenge, so he decided to sit with the older man, with friendship as a priority. it takes him awhile to realize he’s gone from just conversational to flirting, but when he does, he doesn’t stop, as on the off chance ivan is interested, at least he’s never pretended about his feelings. however, he wasn’t exactly focused on pursuing ivan, as he had nina to focus on, and it wasn’t priority in the grand scheme of things. after a battle with the fjerdans on the northern front that nearly resulted in fedyor’s death, ivan kissed him, and the two confessed feelings for each other. their hearts start to beat in sync as they get closer, and heartrenders who are listening can hear this. about six years before the events of the first book, ivan and fedyor are married in a very small ceremony, where nina is present as their flower girl. the two are separated after the events of shadow and bone, especially as their hearts begin to beat individually once again, and reunite during the fold’s fall in ruin and rising. fedyor never judged ivan for choosing the darkling’s side, and never held any animosity because of it; he’s just happy to have his husband safe and back with him.
nina (@eterneaty). fedyor is 19 years old when nina is brought to the little palace as a little girl. she already shows an incredibly amount of heartrender skill without training, and fedyor immediately feels sympathetic for the girl. he takes her under his wing and gives her additional training, while also looking out for her. nina gets her love for sweets from fedyor, and the two eat waffles often together while she’s growing up. both ivan and fedyor are like her father figures while she’s at the little palace. when nina starts to be sent on missions, fedyor is very scared for her, but he’s confident in her abilities because he helped to train her, and so did ivan. he is on the team sent to find and bring nina back (which occurs after the events of ruin and rising), but his concern isn’t in the form of betrayal to her country, but more betrayal to him, because he feels like she’s picking a fjerdan over her family. also, he is scared that things are going to go wrong, but there’s nothing he can do once she’s declared matthias a slaver.
alina. fedyor takes to calling alina solnyshka (little sun). the reason he defects from the darkling is in part due to her being “sun summoner” of myth, but also because she is a young girl and fedyor wants to keep her safe too. he is one of few who stays by her side, and that knows she is alive after her supposed martyrdom in the fold.
books:
shadow and bone. the events in the show with alina, genya, and fedyor are going to be added into fedyor’s main canon. the rescue of nina does not occur during this book. additionally, he does not defect until after ivan returns and the two talk.
siege and storm. alina tells fedyor about ivan nearly dying when the two are reunited, however does not speak negatively about ivan (in regards to him stopping her heart), as it isn’t her place to say that and ruin fedyor’s perception of his husband. fedyor insists that nina evacuate with the rest of the students while they are leaving, and she does so. fedyor does not die in the fight during nikolai’s birthday. instead, he is marred by the nichevo’ya, with one long and jagged scar across his chest and reaching up to his neck (visible above the neckline of a kefta), and lighter claw marks on his throat (where he was picked up and thrown from the rooftop). he survives the fall, and tamar manages to speed up his heart and wake him up. the rest of his scars and injuries are healed when he is brought to the white cathedral, but his scars from the nichevo’ya remains. he is one of few who is allowed to see genya, as he has similar scarring, but it’s still in very minimal amounts. he does not enjoy his time in the white cathedral, especially knowing alina is practically a prisoner.
ruin and rising. fedyor is present for the events of the book, traveling with the small grisha party alongside alina. he gets very close to both genya and zoya, seeing them in the same light as he did nina and alina, and finally being able to take care of the both of them too. he stays with genya and david when alina seeks out the firebird. when alina mentions that the darkling has the students as hostages, it only propels him into being ready to fight even more, knowing he would do anything to keep his daughter safe. during the battle with the darkling, him and ivan come face to face for the first time since the end of the first book, and ivan finally has the confidence to defect from the darkling, having been terrified he too could be punished like genya or sergei. they fight side by side, and as the fold falls, are together once more. they fly out on the ship with alina and the rest of the party, and are part of the understanding that alina was martyred in the fold. the two heartrenders reunite with nina outside the fold, and their family may be slightly more broken but they are together.
post series. fedyor and ivan take a little while to come to terms with everything, but they are still in love with each other as they always have been. fedyor struggles with the scarring on his chest, as even after the darkling is killed, the scarring is still deep and remaining. he visits alina with genya, david, and zoya during the winter fetes, as she is still just as important to him as she always was. a few months later, nina leaves for a mission, is captured by the fjerdans, and fedyor is part of the party sent to bring her home. the events play out similarly to the show. after the events of the books, fedyor continues to get very close to genya and zoya, and considers them family as well. eventually, when zoya informs him that nina is alive and in ketterdam, fedyor begins to write letters to her, hoping for a chance to apologize for everything. after the events of rule of wolves, they finally reunite.

KHOC Week 2020 ~ Day 5
@khoc-week
Since the release of Dark Road, I’ve been hesitant to continue writing Anila’s story though in my mind it’s already completely mapped out. So for today, I’ll be sharing some headcanons I have about Anila’s fears and how they attribute to one of her greatest failures during her training and shape the Master that she eventually becomes. I hope that’s okay, and sorry if some parts are a little confusing since, as I said, I haven’t written this out in a literary format, yet.
~~~
“Watch me, Father. I’ll pick up where you left off.”
Anila’s greatest fear is darkness, probably obvious for a future Keyblade Master. But Anila’s fear is particularly personal due to the tragedies she endures at various life stages. She fears losing her loved ones as the darkness has already claimed her parents, some of her friends, and even her first true love.
~~~
When she was nine, her father was killed in a Heartless attack followed by her mother dying half a year later from an illness brought on by her broken heart. Anila is then taken in by Master Genai, a friend of her parents, and brought up beside Ilysia and Eraqus.
Though she grows up happy, she never forgets how darkness took her family away. Part of her training includes being placed in battle simulations where she faces holographic monsters that terrify her. Master Genai helps her work through her fears, teaching her how to accept her fear as a means of becoming stronger. With her Master’s help, Anila learns to channel her fear and sorrow and transform it into strength. And strength turns into determination.
“I believe that at one time, he was in love with me as well. But he was also in love with another, in love with darkness. The same darkness that took my family away…”
As she progresses in her training, Anila and her friends are occasionally dispatched to different worlds outside Scala to see why the balance of darkness and light must be maintained. She watches in horror as the darkness claims several of her classmates over the years and is helpless to stop Xehanort from falling under it’s spell.
This is particularly painful for her due to her many years of secretly pining for him; she can’t understand why he would be so fascinated with a power that has only ever brought her suffering. As he walks further down the dark road, they drift apart and her sorrow returns as well as her fear. Both eventually turn to anger.
“You mustn’t let your anger overtake you.” “Master, my anger is what drives me.”
When thinking about Anila’s failures, the first thing that comes to mind is a particularly harrowing experience she has when she, Ilysia, Urd, and their fellow classmate Takara are on a long term mission in another world, an enchanted and glittering world called Imperial Russia.
While spending several months there, the girls meet and become friendly with the imperial family and realize that dark forces are at work plotting to bring them down. As outsiders, they can’t interfere but when these same dark forces instigate a siege on the palace, they find themselves caught right in the crossfire.
Ilysia advises that they return to Scala before it’s too late but Anila refuses to leave, particularly since and Grand Duchess Anastasia has taken a liking to her. To make matters worse she also finds out that Xehanort is also wandering the world and has been investigating the dark forces on his own.
With Anila determined to protect her new friend and somehow manage to rescue Xehanort from himself, the other three are forced to stay behind with the result being nothing less than catastrophic. Urd is lost in the chaos, Anastasia vanishes and when Anila witnesses the rest of the imperial family murdered, her anger boils over and she breaks the ultimate taboo among keyblade wielders: she summons her blade and uses it to tear the villains apart. In her rage, Anila has exposed her and her friends as being from another world and they have no choice but to return home at once.`
Xehanort brings Urd’s body back to Scala sometime later and as punishment for her actions, Anila’s Mark of Mastery is pushed back a year and she is forbidden to set foot out of Scala until then. Master Genai expresses her disappointment in her ward but to Anila’s mind, her punishment cannot compare to the feeling of failure she has in herself for letting her anger and fear get the best of her and putting her friends in danger. And the fact that Anastasia is now orphaned thanks to the darkness, just like her.
“I won’t cry anymore…”
The year passes and Anila has a lot of time to contemplate her failure. Her relationship with Xehanort worsens but in a show of solidarity, Ilysia agrees to put off her Mark of Mastery so she can take it beside her, even though it means her wedding must also be postponed. Takara puts off her exam as well.
When the time for the Mark of Mastery does come, the three sweep through most of the trials of their exam with ease but then the girls are each given a separate final trial that plays on each of their respective strengths and weaknesses. Anila’s trial is to test her ability to keep her feelings in check when she is confronted with an apparition in the form of the monster that killed her father, followed by the monsters she encountered during her time abroad.
In the end, Anila passes her final trial by learning to not let her fears overwhelm her. She realizes that when she’s afraid, she thinks rashly and when she’s angry, she makes unwise decisions. Her heart remains still throughout her exam and her basic keyblade finally transforms into her own personal weapon, Dancing on Wind.
Though she is now a Master, Anila realizes that she still has a lot more to learn; about the worlds, about the balance between light and darkness, and ultimately about herself. And so, with Master Genai’s blessing, Master Anila leaves Scala ad Caelum soon after Ilysia’s wedding. She sets out on a life of exploration, adventure and self-discovery and the first thing she does is return to Imperial Russia.
But that is a story for another time.

EDWARD SAXE-COBURG AND GOTHA, PRINCE OF WALES AND DUKE OF CORNWALL
( david corenswet, male, he/him) — a member of the [ SAXE-COBURG AND GOTHA ] family seeks entry to the society ! [ Edward ] is a [26] year old [ PRINCE OF WALES AND DUKE OF CORNWALL] who hails from [ LONDON, ENGLAND ] , who call them [ THE TEMPEST ] . although their peers know them for being [ PERMISSIVE ] and [ JOVIAL ] , their reputation for being [ IRRESPONSIBLE ] and [ UNRELIABLE ] might hinder their relations with current society members. while the [ SAXE-COBURG AND GOTHA ] family is known for [ BEING IN THE BRITISH ROYAL FAMILY ] , the society’s hopeful [ Exlixir ] is better remembered by [ WRINKLED SHEETS IN A POOL ON THE FLOOR, BORED EXPRESSIONS DURING IMPORTANT TASKED MEETINGS, EMPTY BOTTLES FROM THE NIGHT BEFORE, PRESSED CASHMERE, ] . initial reports say their goal of [ disabling the monarchy to avoid superiority ] would be their first priority after being inducted, although who’s to say that won’t change ?
born into a family of legacy and importance, edward always felt removed from the crown and its ideology. throughout the years, it’s become less important and more saturated in the media. the family has in turn become more like pop culture icons and celebrities than leading figures in society. edward has always understood the difference and would much rather a life without consequences. his father had been king for many years and edward watched as the effects were twisted on his father.
there had been years of edward growing up under the public eye, the first steps being documented and his first public event cooed at. as he grew older, the press and general public began understanding him under a different lens as he transitioned from child to adolescent to adult. all the many firsts the media had reported were draining it to be his last. where he had his first public event, some speculated when he got a rise in the papers, every event would be his last. edward would never claim to be a superior role model and has never made the case for himself. he knew he was far from perfect and perhaps the public would prefer his sister to be next in line and ignore the hierarchy laws.
edward knew pippa would be the grand choice and hoped his parents would either chance the course of law and allow her to become next in line or perhaps change the course of history and abolish the crown. he wasn’t the first one to claim the crown was not as political as it once was and instead, was placed on parliament and other political leaders. edward was tired of attending public events and galas, putting on a charming smile that hid any evidence of what he was truly feeling.
headcanons;
during his primary years, edward attended the same schools his father did and his grandfather did. it was customary for the royal family to have pristine education but edward barely good enough good marks to be competent.
edward was taught to be fluent in as many languages that would be required for a prince to acquire. though he is fluent in five languages, his favorite is French
after his education, edward became focused on humanitarian relief and traveled to over seven countries with a mission team. there were relief efforts and probably the most reliable and actual work he has done in his role as prince.
in order to avoid the crowds and sometimes the palace guards who were tasked with following his moves, edward would ride his motorcycle through the narrow streets of london
it’s in the news that he has the most trouble. any sentence regarding him or his sister was deemed important even if it was them walking out in public, or talking to a stranger. edward is aware of the paparazzi and reports following him like a shadow but it slips his mind at times. that’s how he is in the papers almost every other week for something that the palace has to settle. his father is continuously disapproves of his actions, but edward is only interested in having a normal life. it’s the same lewd activities anyone could do but it’s different when it’s the prince of wales and future king.
he resides at the kensington palace where he only is present for sleeping and eating. most of the time he is in the city of london doing other works or is at buckingham palace with his family and social dinners.
wanted connections:
fake love interest: i’m sure that his parents and the media are aware of the many string of relationships he’s had and how that might make the public look at the royals differently. i think it would be realistic if they got him a fake girlfriend to walk around the city with and pose with at social events
enemies: i have no doubts that edward has had many bad run ins with people and left ill impressions. it would be one thing to internally loath someone but to openly express it, i don’t think edward would be keen.
bad influence: edward is the type who is indecisive and a people pleaser but for the wrong reasons. he loves basking in the attention of others and can be influenced easily. i would love to have someone who encourages those antics and possibly gets him into trouble.
positive influence: since he’s not the type to take most things seriously, it would have to take someone to meet him on ground level and find a connection to make him stop his risque behavior. the tabloids love him but that might be it. he needs someone to draw him out of the spotlight and be humble again.

Illya Verses
I. The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (2015) Movie Canon
II. Fifteen Years Later, based off of the 1983 movie stemming from the original TV show. Illya had been dishonorably discharged from service as an agent in the mid 60s, and has been working as a fashion designer since then. Fifteen years later, he is recruited back into service.
III. Post-Movie, Illya is loyal to his UNCLE team, and begins questioning his loyalty to the USSR as he sees their actions. He does not defect, but he begins to stray from his original extreme nationalism.
IV. Young Man: Ranging from age 14 until the movie, this verse covers Illya’s time training in the KGB and various missions of his. (FC Austin Butler)
V. Grand Duchesses’ Right Hand: In a world where the Revolution of 1917 did not occur and Russia remained under the control of the Tsar. Illya’s father was a noble and a primary advisor to Tsar Nicholas. Illya grew up in the palace, born in 1896, grew up beside the royal children and was being groomed to be a bodyguard to the Grand Duchesses. He was the closest to the second Grand Duchess, as she was a year his junior. The young future tsar, Alexei, felt envious of Illya, and after trying to get Illya in trouble, realized it would be better to take note of Illya’s strengths and eventually viewed Illya as a sort of older brother figure despite a lasting feeling of resentment over Illya’s strength and lack of being confined due to illness. Illya was suspicious of Rasputin, but kept quiet about it as it wasn’t his place to vocalize his opinion. He did, however, listen to the complaints of any of the Tsar’s children. After Rasputin’s death, Illya’s father gained even more in station which resulted in Illya being put in line to be the advisor to Alexei, if the young Russian survived to become Tsar after his father. (FC: Austin Butler or Armie Hammer, depends on his age)
VI. Modern: UNCLE, formed in 1964, is now the international version of the FBI. Illya was trained by the Russian division, still the “best within three years”. Illya was born in 1988, during the end of the USSR. His father was killed during the fall of the USSR, as certain KGB agents were being silenced. As a single mother, Illya’s mother brought Illya to an old government contact of hers when he was eleven. His new guardian saw potential in Illya, resembling his father. After training in the Russian military from ages 18 to 21, Illya studied at Lomonosov Moscow State University. He majored in World Politics and minored in French. After graduating, he was recruited by UNCLE.
VII. The Curse of Immortality/Super Soviet/Marvel Friendly: With the USSR wanting their own version of Captain America - in both the propaganda and the access to a super soldier, Illya was chosen due to his exceptional performance during KGB training. He had been injected with chemicals that didn’t delay his aging but stopped it and accelerated the regeneration of his cells as to allow for rapid healing and increased strength. This was how he was able to do the “barely human” acts in the movie, such as ripping the trunk off of the back of a car. With his delayed aging, Illya had to leave UNCLE after a few decades, becoming a vigilante in Eastern Europe from the 1980s until today. Eventually, while an UNCLE agent, he tracked down the group who tortured him and - in his eyes - cursed him. They were a cult experimenting in black magic, and used Illya as their guinea pig when trying to cause immortality. Before killing the last one of them, Illya obtained the means to cause immortality - enough for two people, as he would offer them to Gaby and Solo if either was near death and the idea of either of them dying is one of Illya’s greatest fears. There is supposedly no way to reverse the immortality, which Illya seeks to remedy by modern times as seeing the world age around him causes a great deal of cognitive dissonance for him. He has a better grasp on his anger now, but certain things/topics still set him off - such as reminders of Solo and Gaby (if they are deceased).
VIII. Private verse with wehavefoundthestars, Second Chances: As a tie into Illya’s immortal verse, soon after the events of the 2015 movie (set in 1963), Illya fell into a coma as his body’s way of balancing out the trauma he sustained and his rapid healing and cell regeneration. It took about twenty years for him to come out of it, waking up with the same age maturity as he had when he fell into the coma. The new head of UNCLE set up a second chance for him, where he would be an American graduate student by the name of Oliver. An entire new identity was created for him, and it was insisted that he take advantage of this second chance. Regardless of this, Illya/Oliver feared forming attachments again due to the fact he’d outlive anyone he got close to.
IX. A Happy Ending: After about five years serving as an UNCLE agent, Illya has gradually worked on addressing his trauma with the assistance of Gaby and Solo. He has “gone soft”, as Solo once teased him about. Reflecting on what he missed growing up, and what his parents had fall apart, he realized he wanted to retire and settle down. Tying into the “fifteen years later” verse, Illya has become involved in fashion design - specifically for women in Berlin, both East and West. Eventually, he realizes he does want a family, that he craves the support and love that is supposed to come with one. While he remains wary of love and trusting someone so much, he accepts that deep down he wants that life. Returning to where he first felt love, Illya now lives in Rome. *Note: this verse can happen with a Gaby, even with her not retiring. I do ship them, and can see them eventually having a real relationship - not just a fake one. She is the first person he ever felt safe with, and also set the standard for anyone he envisions having a relationship with.
X. Hogwarts: In 1943, at age 12, Illya was transferred to Hogwarts from Koldovstoretz rather than any of the wizarding schools in the USSR. Despite both the UK and USSR being involved in WWII, they believed Illya would be safer at Hogwarts and have an advantage due to some of the professors at Hogwarts and the safety measures in place. When placed under the sorting hat, Illya was not given a decisive placement and it was based on his preference. (In a quiz, he got “So you’re 28% Gryffindor, 26% Ravenclaw, 25% Slytherin, and 21% Hufflepuff! You seem to be an almost perfect combination of all four houses, which is incredibly rare - you’re equal in your intelligence, bravery, loyalty and ambition. As we know, though, the Sorting Hat takes your preference into account…so it looks like you get to choose your own house). Based on his knowledge of the four houses, Illya chose Ravenclaw as he wished to focus on improving himself as a wizard rather than focus on social interactions. If he had been in a better mind set with less pressure on himself to become a contributing member to the USSR, he would likely have been sorted into Hufflepuff. He was particularly talented in Regarding his lineage, Illya is believed to be a Pureblood, but it is possibly untrue due to the bias in favor of Purebloods within the USSR and propaganda to only have pure blooded children as to lessen the risk of non-wizards being born. While having missed the Grindlewald disasters, he did encounter Tom Riddle (Riddle having gone to Hogwarts beginning in 1938, being in his fifth year when Illya was sent to Hogwarts). He was not certain what to think of the Slytherin, and simply avoided him - that was how he behaved toward most, so it didn’t seem out of the norm. Upon returning to the USSR, Illya got involved with UNCLE’s wizarding branch and acted as a spy amongst the growing number of wizards practicing illegal dark magic. He worked with drop out Slytherin, Napoleon Solo who had served in WWII’s later years and now for the CIA’s wizarding branch, along with an East Berliner named Gaby Teller who had attended Beauxbatons as an international student (please note that if you are a Solo or Gaby who has different headcanons about their wizarding schooling, I’d be happy to go with yours! I just went with what I thought might have been the situation). As of the war in 1998, Illya’s status is unknown except to Napoleon Solo and Gaby Teller. (FC: Austin Butler or Armie Hammer, age dependent) Wand: Red Oak with Unicorn hair as the core
XI: Medieval : Illya, starting at age eighteen, became the guardian of the crown prince of a small but flourishing country. Illya’s origins are still in Russia, but he spends his life in various ranks given by the crown prince and eventual king.
XII: World War II: Born in 1923 (rather than 1931), Illya’s story is essentially the same as his canon and/or Super Soviet verses.
XIII: The Old Guard: Illya is a relatively young immortal, not even being 100 years old yet (having been born in 1931). True to his canon movie verse until 1965, the year in which Illya discovered he was immortal. Similar to his Super Soviet verse, Illya uses his immortality to function as a superhero.

EoA ships fluff headcanons part 2
Do they have bubble baths?
Eleteo: Oh yes, Mateo is a wizard after all so it’s not like they even have to plan, he just casts a spell and there in a tub of suds. Elena particularly loves it when they have rose petals to add to the mood and candles. They could spend hours in the tub together sometimes with Elena getting mischievous and starting a water fight. Gababel: Yes, originally as part of Isabel’s aromatherapy project to see if different combos of smells and soaps help relax. Ironically, she got so stressed by it, and that Gabe insisted on taking over one night to give her a relaxing bubble bath, free of science but filled with massages until she was blissed out. Estebanaomi: Not really since they have a shower on the ship and a rather cranky one at that, you never know if it’s going to be freezing or not. However on those islands, sometimes they do come across natural steam baths or jacuzzis and they take full advantage of those to enjoy each other’s company and get steamed in two different levels. Estoma: Very rarely. Like they’re busy most of the time, so they only do it on a vacation when they can have all the time in the world to enjoy it. They go very slowly, taking time to wash every single part of the others body and if the hand slips, oh well then...
Random heartwarming thing
Eleteo: Elena forgoing her usual plans of excitement and olaball and fencing to spend a whole day indoors studying spells on the spirit world with Mateo. Mateo appreciated it because not only did he need to catch up if he wanted to reach master wizard level in time for fighting the malvagos, but also seeing how hard Elena tried to sit still and pay attention even when reading uninteresting texts like that huge Spirit World book Zuzo had. Elena loves whenever Mateo goes out of his comfort zone but one particular moment was when some person from a rival kingdom, let’s go with King Hector insinuated at a royal meeting that Elena was unfit to rule due to her mood swings powers, her traitorous cousins and young age. Before anyone could even blink, Mateo got up and delivered a impassioned speech on Elena’s behalf highlighting each and every accomplishment of hers and her strength that Hector no where near possesses as well as her compassion and true love to her subjects. Elena was amazed by how riled Mateo was, but also just in awe that he thought so highly of her. Yes, she knew he loved her but that speech was just wow.
Gababel: Gabe made Isabel cry when they were brainstorming their vows. Yes, they wanted it to be a secret but first they started joking around with mock ones like “The moment you drooled on me when you fell asleep on the carriage from Paraíso, I just knew you were the one.” Stuff like that. But then Gabe pulls out this stunner saying he knows he can make her cry which Isabel doubts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Zzef69S8sM Isabel was touched by how much Gabe had grown and his love for her that this guy who claimed actions spoke louder than words, could speak so eloquently when it came to describing his love for her. An act that truly touched Gabe was one time after a brutal search mission for the past month, Gabe returned back to the barracks, exhausted but excited for the next morning since he had a date with Isabel. He slept through the day. He was horrified when he woke that he missed it but to his utter shock, Isabel had cleaned his office that he had being meaning to do, as well laundered his smelly clothes and had a small note on how he needed his rest and she’ll see him tomorrow. He was touched, she didn’t have to do it. They were only dating but she cared and it warmed his heart. Estenaomi: Naomi broke her ankle one time working on the dock and this was early on in their friendship so up till now Naomi has known Esteban through his annoying, impulsive nature and his occasional sweet side. Well right then, she got a front seat view to how caring Esteban can be. He personally delivered soup to her room everyday and would stay and chat. At first, Naomi thought he was replaced by some imposter but once he started engaging in some banter about how much she complained about not being able to move. She knew it was him, and she appreciated how he took the time out of his so called busy schedule to keep her company. Naomi did a surprising, almost unexpected gift for Esteban when she vouched for his responsible nature and stood up to tell his abuelos that he was more than ready to take on more work within the palace and the Grand Council. His abuelos had been a bit blinded by how they usually see him going off on adventures but Naomi’s words woke them up to that Esteban was growing up and he was maturing. Esteban was super grateful for that and also teased her for inadvertently admitting that he was more than a “mediocre looking narcissist” as @missnobodynobodius put it.
Estoma: They have a lot of talks together by the fireplace when they become a couple and those convos can get pretty deep and sweet as well. In a mixture of nostalgic musings and a bit of insecurity over his treasonous actions, Esteban admitted that he used to be jealous of King Juan back when he was known as Prince Juan. Juan was like the perfect prince, never acting out of emotion, always responsible, a family man that would never hurt his family. He could see why everyone wanted to talk to him and be with his presence, he was like a Fairy . Doña told him she didn’t care much for fairytales much less princes. She preferred the sulky beast who only wanted love but was cursed. He was real, he knew about suffering and he was able to grow and learn lessons and mature. Fairytale princes didn’t do that. It was a thin metaphor and he knew exactly what she was implying and he melted. Bit by bit as Esteban talked about his feelings pre Shuriki and his betrayal and all the lies and deception, Doña admits some of her own past and her flaws like how she didn’t go to college. She dropped out of school after her quinceñera. Which admittedly meant she didn’t go to high school either but that sounded worse. But the best part was for once there was no teasing comments or “That explains so much.” He just listens and accepts it and doesn’t hold it against her and she loves him for that. Who drives the other crazy in bed?
Eleteo: Elena does. It’s the Flores in her but she is just very flirty and teasing and knows just how to drive Mateo wild which she enjoys because she so likes seeing Mateo’s eyes widen in anticipation and eagerness with his focus totally on her. But sometimes Mateo does too. Unintentionally. The boy can be so oblivious when he thinks is being suspenseful but Elena is just ready to explode. Gababel: Gabe for the most part. He has more experience if you pardon the euphemism plus he has all those extra moves from fencing and training and stuff. He’s a bit like Elena that he enjoys Isabel’s excitement and he also is foremost intent on pleasing her. But Isabel can give as good as he got sometimes. Don’t count out the spicy Flores gene. Estenaomi: Esteban does. He has had way too much time formulating ideas back when he was friends with Victor tbh. And though Naomi can’t believe how eager she can get when she knows Esteban can drag it out with the best of em, she also must admit, he knows what he is doing. Then again, Naomi is easily able to turn the tables sometimes when Esteban is an impatient mood, and she drives him insane. Estoma: Both do honestly, it’s like part of their cat and mouse game to show off their erotic prowess, and have the other one begging their name like a mantra.
Modern day living?
Eleteo: I feel like Eleteo would live in Miami, Florida in a quaint but expansive beach house. Not only because of the large Latin community but it has all the beaches there and it is so colorful and lively that I imagine they would have tons of fun adventures there. Gababel: I see Gabe as a total all American guy so maybe some sort of midwestern town would fit him, but I ultimately imagine them settling in a small town in California. Somewhere in the mountains where there is a tight community and they know their neighbors but close enough for Isabel to go to her job in Silicon Valley. Estenaomi: Hmm I think they’d still be travelers like backpacking through Europe, but their home base would be a nice apartment in Miami near Eleteo or I’m thinking New Orleans, Louisiana. It’s a port town after all with diverse restaurants, peoples and places plus not to mention fun holidays like Mardi Gras. Estoma: I think they would have one of those huge penthouses in New York. Or what is that rich people place? The Hamptons. Yeah, it has it all. All the high end fashions, theatre, and business stuff. And they would totally be the type to splurge and have an additional summer apartment in Europe or something.
Aus
Gababel: So somewhat of a switch but Gabe is the royal prince of Avalor while Isabel is in the army. But not as you think. She isn’t a guard but she’s still a scientists tasked with making new more effective weapons, transportations and the like. Anyway, Gabe a la princess Jasmine wants more out of life then being a prince and occasionally playing sports like olaball like his father wants. He wants to go out and defend the people. So he sneaks out to go to the barracks but he is stopped by Isabel when he passes her laboratory which he is immediately intrigued (by the lab and her). Isabel who is sort of a working hermit and she’d be lying if she didn’t get flustered at seeing *the Prince of Avalor!!!* in her lab. Well they get to talking and Gabe is amazed that he has never heard of all her contributions and what she has done and vows to help her get the recognition she wants in a non-military experiment and Isabel promises to help in turn become a royal guard. Estenaomi: So I’ve seen young!Esteban and I’ve seen waiting for Naomi to become the appropriate age, but what if...picture a world where Esteban had also been in that amulet with Elena and when they get out Esteban is the young one and Naomi is the one in her 40s. By that time older Naomi hasn’t become any something special, but she is content with it. Sort of. Not really, but she thinks it too late for her now. Anyhow she gets on the Grand Council for her life experience around the realm and there relationship is a lot like in the show. Only Naomi is the more realistic one who knows how the world works while Esteban inspires her to see she still has a chance to get her dreams. Estoma: So in this one, Esteban made the deal with Shuriki but at last minute did the right thing and told King Raul and nothing happened. So the family was a bit hurt and confused by Esteban’s feelings of loneliness and they promised they would work on it, they still felt Esteban needed to be punished. So he is sent to a small village ranch for the summer to learn that work takes responsibility as well as a chance to see how people work together and depend on one another like a family is supposed to. And as you can guess, it was doña’a family ranch. And it’s a bit like P&P, she thinks he’s spoiled brat and an interference that she has to teach him and while Esteban thinks though the whole summer is going to suck, he finds her attitude an insult to his pride and wants to prove he can totally “slum it.” But then there competitive antagonism turns flirty banter yet there is still obstacles. Namely her fiancé and everyone’s belief, including Esteban’s, that no way he would go for a poor villager, he’s so much better than that. Eleteo: So Mateo is the adopted son of Prince Gabe this making him Prince Mateo, however he still feels like an outsider because he is adopted as well as knowing he is capable of magic skills that royals are not suppose to possess much less study and learn. But like his brother, he decides to sneak out and find a master, that master being none other than Elena, the royal wizard, wielder of the magic of Takína. Obviously their magical studies bonds them in more ways than one. They confide in one another of Mateo’s outsider feelings and Elena who is still coming to terms with her grief of her parent’s untimely death in battle with her mortal sorceress enemy, Shuriki. So together they team up to help Elena avenge her family and for Mateo to find out the truth of his biological family.
What pet would they have?
Eleteo: I don’t know if they would since their already sooo busy with their lives. I guess Flo counts technically. But when they have kids, their children really really want a dog so they get a energetic, friendly one. The breed...probably the breed from the dog statues in Royal Rivalry. I don’t know the name though. But anyways it’s clear that the dog is like their kid’s child except when it chews up one of Mateo’s spellbooks or pees. Then it’s up to the parents to clean up of course. Mateo also gets his own personal horse to join with Canella in the royal stable. Gababel: I feel like they would keep those hamsters that Isabel had in Science Unfair. Not only for safe, animal friendly experiments but they’re just so darn cute, and easy to carry around. And it’s surprisingly engaging to watch them run around in their little track. They both have horses, of course. Can’t leave Fuego out, and even though Isabel isn’t much of a riding fan, she has one too. Estenaomi: They get a parrot. There can’t be a ship without a parrot, at least according to Esteban’s adventure fantasies. They got a blue macaw parrot and he is the most ornery, cursing bird ever. No kind word to anyone but Esteban and Naomi like him anyway. They also briefly had a monkey. Imagine the one from the Pirates of Caribbean movie but he was disruptive and had this habit of throwing plants at Esteban as if he knew his pet peeve of them. Estoma: I don’t think either would particularly own a pet. They do have horses since Esteban has Valiente and Doña would probably get one her own. The only other pet I could imagine is some stray cat that goes in and out of the palace and particularly likes to nest on Esteban’s coats if he leaves it lying on his bed. Bonus: Alonso totally uses animals as props for his dates https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8yQDIvGz3cWhich led to King Juan implementing the rule of no borrowing animals from the royal menagerie to impress girls.
Embarrassing nickname? eleteo: Hmm I’m not sure actually but probably something like pan dulce monster for Elena because you know how she gets with her pan dulce, she’ll devour everything in sight. And Mateo especially likes to reference that picture of two year old her covered in pan dulce from your fic😉 But the thing is, it’s hard to embarrass Elena so she just takes it in stride. Elena calls Mateo some manner of nauseatingly sweet name like “Honey boo boo kins” for fun when they’re in front of Naomi and Gabe or even Olivia because Mateo’s blush is just adorable. The other embarrassing one that Mateo got in his childhood was Klutzteo because he was so uncoordinated in school. It still makes his face burn to think about it but Elena reminds him of his absolute grace when it comes to dancing. Gababel: We already know Gabe’s embarrassing nickname, “Baker boy.” Actually The Curse of El Guapo wasn’t the first time it came up. He heard it a lot in grade school when things were a bit more class conscious and poor people were treated with disdain, also some kids couldn’t believe the Great Roberto Nuñez stopped his olaball career to bake. Isabel’s embarrassing nicknames never stuck but they usually followed the pattern of dull or boring or goody two shoes which did not boost her confidence when she sometimes compared herself to Elena. Estenaomi: I feel like Naomi would have some sort of nickname from her parents that she keeps telling them to knock it off and they do it anyway like Miss Fiestypants which of course, Esteban found out during one of the family dinners and he loves to bring it up since it fits so well. He also makes up some of his own during their many adventures together. Naomi’s favorite nickname for Esteban is “Geyser” after the one time Esteban got drunk and got a tattoo on his back of a huge geyser that looked like it was coming from his butt (yes just like Ted’s butterfly tattoo in HIMYM. I felt a geyser would be even more ridiculous and so like drunk Esteban to go big or go home) Naomi freaked out when she saw it and she loved making jokes about him blowing his top and stuff like that. Even after he got it removed. Estoma: Esteban’s embarrassing nickname as we know was El Segundo which had disastrous consequences on Esteban’s self esteem. It just reminded him how he was physically inferior to Victor, how everyone paid attention to Elena. That he was second to everyone else in the world. And well, just Esteban.... poor poor Esteban. Doña’s embarrassing nickname was Whore. It all started because her little sibling couldn’t pronounce her full name. And you try to convince a child to try something else when the kid is determined to say what she or he wants, and of course, others thought it was hilarious. It got worse when puberty hit, and she got self conscious that any flirty action she did would be perceived as whorish.
Meeting extended family?
Eleteo: Well obviously Elena has Alacazar full approval even though they got together after his death. But they can just sense it you know. Mateo is beloved by Elena’s grandparents. If I may take from Becky, with Luisa in particular trying to put some meat on his bones. Isabel likes Mateo too of course. He’s like a brother, one who is always willing to listen to her invention ideas and also a calming influence on Elena. Esteban thinks the same. Gababel: Isabel’s whole family enjoys Gabe’s presence though Elena sometimes likes to pull the protective big sister act to catch Gabe off guard. But still their friendship is solid albeit with more teasing. Francisco likes the chance to talk about his vigilante days and watch his swordsmanship and Luisa once again overloads him with treats. Esteban respects Gabe and he too, sometimes pulls protective older sibling act because Isabel is the baby and they’re just protective of her in general. Isabel got to meet Gabe’s aunts and uncles and cousins during the engagement party which was awkward at first. A lot of them were intimidating because she was *the princess of Avalor * but as time wore on, she began to make them feel at ease with his goofy jokes and love of science. Though some still panic when they think they might have potentially offended her. Estenaomi: Esteban was a hit with Naomi’s cousins and aunts and uncles who like to tease and joke with him about his fancy manners and pampered upbringing. Basically it was a fun party with lots of back crushing hugs and blueberry juice. It didn’t take much to win them over. He was already a part of it. Naomi was already warmly accepted with Elena thrilled for her bff to become her sister and Luisa and Francisco admiring her spunk and sassy ways. They thought they balanced each out well. Isabel enjoyed was always counted on to be a riveted audience or a tie breaker for a fight. Estoma: Francisco being the kind man he was happily accepted Esteban’s new gf, and they found a lot to talk about like books and theatre and other culture stuff. Luisa was a bit wary because she knows how Doña acts and Doña was awkwardly polite to her. It got better after the marriage and stuff. Elena was willing to try to make the best of it and so was Isabel but they never became close like Mateo and Gabe are. Age differences and such. Doña didn’t have any contact with her extended family and the only one alive that she knew of her was abuelo who still held a grudge about her parents eloping. But Esteban insisted on going because he wanted to meet him. First, the man didn’t appreciate the unexpected visit. Then began the judgyness like why are you living together when you’re not married? Why marry someone from outside your village? And acting personally offended by how rich Esteban was like in that HIMYM clip, “Oh you with royal upbringing and fancy suit, YOU THINK YA BETTER THAN ME?” Esteban was furious and wasn’t sure how appropriate it would be to throw his drink back at him and yell “YES! I AM!”

Do Han and Leia celebrate birthdays? Sweetheart’s Day? Who’s the bigger sap of the two?
Hello, lovely Anon! Thank you for the ask!
I think that for the first little while after the destruction of Alderaan, birthdays/lifedays (whichever you prefer) would have been rather fraught for Leia. So many memories of happier times, of family traditions and moments spent together that were lost along with her home, and everything she held dear. I touched on this in story I wrote a couple of years back, when I returned to the fandom following TFA...I’ve added that little excerpt here by way of answering your question, but the rest will never see the light of day ‘cuz it’s cringeworthy.
There were many times when the cavernous void left behind by the disappearance of treasured elements from Leia’s lost world stretched wider and darker than usual, and birthdays were one of them. She missed her home and her family, and never more than on occasions such as this. Normally thoughts of Alderaan were a faint hum in the back of her mind, ever present but tucked into the background of everyday life and quiet enough to overlook; but there were other times, like this, that the distant drone escalated to become a thundering chorus capable of drowning out all other thought.
Growing up as a member of the Royal House meant that birthdays were a public affair, and always celebrated in grand style. Each year Leia happily greeted the throngs of citizens who gathered in the palace square to offer the young Princess best wishes and partake in public festivities. But it wasn’t such grand customs that Leia missed most. It was memories of the quiet ways in which her family marked such occasions that made her chest feel tight and her throat ache with unshed tears: her mother, creeping into her room at first light, singing the words of the traditional song as she threw open the curtains to start the day; the customary breakfast of Eilanflower tea, hot, bitter and unpalatable on its own, but the perfect contrast to the excessive sweetness of the Jarnoo cakes it always accompanied; and her father, twirling her around the floor for the first dance of the evening at the grand ball that was the culmination of the day. She remembered feeling deliriously happy, lighthearted, and free.
But recollections of these happier times inevitably led her thoughts to another, darker place, and this year particularly so. This birthday was her first since the startling revelations that had come in the days following the Battle of Endor and, as a result, the day was now was marred not only by bittersweet reminders of Alderaan’s loss, but by the cold reality that her entire world had been wiped from existence by the same black-cloaked monster who was responsible for her existence.
Yeah. Anyhoo…. :D :D
When Han comes into Leia’s life, he is astute enough to pick up on this right away. He makes it his mission (among other things where she’s involved) to change that for her, and help her to look back on the past with fondness, but make new, happy memories as well. Maybe it’s as simple as gritting his teeth and not barking back a snarky comment, at first...but in his laconic, show-don’t-tell way, he does his utmost to make her feel special for a day. And Han...well, that’s a hard one. My headcanon is aligned with Sue Zahn’s Kismet universe, in which Han was not a street urchin at all, but the child of a wealthy family involved in manufacturing of warships for the Empire who broke away in order to follow his heart and his own moral compass. That’s not to say I don’t find the ‘Oliver Twist in space’ Han who has no idea of his date of birth or actual age intriguing...it definitely is, but Sue’s version of events just made so much sense to me that I readily embraced it, and it stands for me to this day. Anyway, it means that Han has fraught memories of the past as well, but for different reasons. When he first starts working for the Alliance post-ANH, he doesn’t broadcast his birthday, but I think Chewie likely rats him out at Leia’s insistence. There’s no fanfare, though, because she knows he wouldn’t care for that. She just gives it quiet acknowledgement, and moves on.
In the days following ROtJ, I think they’d mark the occasion by ensuring that they had a quiet evening to themselves—free from the demands of politics, government, and military objectives—just to be together. They’d share a meal, some wine, maybe watch a holo...or try to, because that just never seems to work out for them. As soon as the lights are down somebody steals a kiss, and the next thing you know...well, y’know.
Sweetheart’s Day is not something I ever associated with the GFFA, to be honest. I think every day they are together is sweet, and neither of them needs a specific occasion to show one another how they feel...they do so every day. Some great authors here have written some lovely Sweetheart’s Day fics...I’m sure I can dig some up, if you’re looking for some recs!
Who’s the bigger sap...Han, most definitely. He’s marshmallow fluff on the inside, but the only one who knows is Leia. Every once in a while he says or does the most dorky, romantic thing, which usually takes Leia completely by surprise and that she finds irresistibly adorable. ED and I touched on this in Truth and Consequences, when Han etched the Aurebesh characters for Han loves Leia and the infinity symbol into the rock on Endor. I can totally see him writing little love-notes to stick in her pockets or texting her the GFFA equivalent of a GIF with little animated hearts or something. And you just know that he got totally choked up in front of Luke and Chewie’s family during their private wedding ceremony on Kashyyyk. :D
Once again, I’ve given my usual overly long response, but I hope you find your answer in there somewhere!

Can you give a headcanon on where the paladins + Matt figure out that their s/o is royalty on a distant planet and they are next in line for the throne? Bonus cookie if you include their reaction realizing that if they get married to them they become a Part of royalty as well. Please and thank you!
Here you go! x
Shiro:
He really wouldn’t believe it at first, I don’t think.
He’s seen you in battle before – he truly doesn’t think thata member of the royal family would be so well trained in combat.
But then he’s visiting your home planet, and people are bowing to you, and you’re looking allawkward and yet grand at the same time.
And Shiro honestly has no choice but to believe it.
He’s shocked and a little nervous.
I can imagine him trying to act all respectful around youuntil you roll your eyes at him and tell him to stop being stupid.
It’s then he realises that you don’t truly care for yourranking and that being treated like normal is all you want.
“That’s why I didn’t tell you in the first place.”
At the realisation that he would be part of the royal familyhimself if he was to marry you, he’d get incredibly nervous, but it wouldn’tthrow him off of the idea of marrying you.
Of course it wouldn’t. You’re the love of his life, royal ornot.
Keith:
“So is your dad like – strict?”
That’s his main worry – meeting your family.
Listen, that’s been something he’s been panicking about fromthe moment he realised he wanted to be serious with you.
Meeting family is a big step, and it’s going to be an evenbigger step if that family is royal.
He wouldn’t even be thinking about the fact that you’re aprince/princess of some far away planet. It’s purely just anxiety on meetingyour family.
“Do I have to bow to them whenever I meet them?”
“Do I call them sir?”
“Keith, for the loveof God-“
Whenever he actually does meet your family, he never lets goof your hand. His nerves are attacking him at the highest of levels and he’sgenuinely sweating.
He goes to the palace in his red jacket and black shirt, aswell, so whenever he sees your father walking down off of his throne in theserobes of fine silk and stuff, he feels a little bit underdressed.
You assure him that your family loved him, but he still hasdoubts.
Whenever he realises that he will also be part of the royalfamily if he marries you, he would ask you about it I feel like.
“I won’t have to attend any royal banquets or anything, right? I’m not good at public speaking.”
“Keith, I don’t evenattend the royal banquets. You have nothing to worry about.”
Lance:
Hm.
Well, Lance thinks this is the coolest thing in the entireworld.
I can imagine him using this information to his advantage –wooing you, as per usual.
“It’s no surprise to me that you’re a prince/princess. Icould have told you that long before you told me.”
“I expected nothing less, to be honest.”
Even though he’s joking about it, he still looks at you alittle differently.
Not in a bad way, of course. He still loves you just thesame – no more and no less – but there’s a side to him that lowkey feels likehe has to show you some kind of grand respectbecause of your rank.
He also feels like he has to be a bit of a better boyfriend, just because he now believes that you have these massively high standards dueto the people you grew up around.
You notice his shift in behaviour and waste no time intelling him that you love him for him.
Realising that he will be part of the royal family if hemarries you definitely startles him.
But it excites him at the same time.
Hunk:
He has a mini crisis.
All of a sudden, you hate the ground he walks on, and heisn’t shit compared to the people back home, and he’s panicking because hesuddenly realises that ranking is a thing and you’re of a high rank and he’s ofa low rank and how is that going to workout.
Honestly, he just has such a panic over such little things.
He starts to distance himself from you a little bit, trulythinking that that is what you want.
All he can imagine is you wading through streets with anactual prince on your arm, somebody good looking and charming and built like abrick house.
And Hunk just feels so meh.
It’s whenever he meets your family {the Paladins have amission on your home planet and your father, the king, immediately recognisedHunk} that he realises that maybe he was overexaggerating a little bit.
Because your father recognises Hunk almost immediately, andbegins to sit him down to tell him of all of the good things you had said aboutHunk.
“I wanted her to marry a prince from the next planet over, but she insisted she was in love with you. I trust her, and by the looks ofthings, you’re a better man to her than any prince could be.”
Realising that he would be part of this family if he marriedyou excites him.
He wants to marry you even more now, I think, just so he cansee your kind father even more.
Pidge:
She would try her hardest to pretend like it doesn’t affecther, because she knows it shouldn’t, but it does.
She feels the blow of the news and just tries to brush itoff – there’s nothing she can do about it, and you’re clearly not planning onleaving her for some high princess any time soon, so what’s the bother?
But even though she’s reassuring herself constantly, tellingherself it’s all okay, she still feels like she needs to up her game a littlebit more.
She probably takes the route of acting hostile to seem likea higher ranking human being.
But her hostility just comes off as cute, and you’re aww-ingat her any chance you get.
She eventually just gives up and lets out all of heranxieties to you, telling you that she feels like she has to impress you evenmore now and that she feels like she has to live up to your familiesexpectations.
She feels nothing but relief, though, whenever you informher that your family love Pidge just as much as you do, because she makes youhappy and that’s all your family truly wants.
“See whenever we’re married, though? I don’t have to – like– be a princess, do I? I can pass upon that offer, right?”
Matt:
He’d be the most extra person we’ve ever seen.
Like, deadass, he might as well drop a red carpet at yourfeet everywhere you go, because he’s suddenly showing you off to the damnworld.
I can imagine him also feeling a little bit bad about thewhole thing, as well.
Becauseyou’ve just informed him that you left your home planet, came to live with thePaladins. You left a life of luxury becauseyou wanted to be with Matt, and he had no idea.
Hejust thought you left your home planet – he could relate to you on that, so itdidn’t bother him as much.
Butyou left everything for him, and thatmakes him feel a little bit guilty.
Hetells you that it’s perfectly fine if you feel the need to go back, that if youever miss your home planet then it’s perfectly fine for you to go back if youso desire.
Youinform him that you would rather not, and that’s the end of that conversation.
Mattfeels a little giddy after that, happy that you chose him, because he knows hewould choose you in a heartbeat.
Hewould be another one to rather give up the title of royalty when he was to marry you. He doesn’t want that kind ofpressure, and he’s content flying his space ships around space rather thansitting on a throne and bossing people around.
