Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. I think they deserved it, and I am not just saying that because they're my two favorite Old Shows. @telebeast wrote a little fanfic blurb about it and I HAD to visualize it into a comic (which is also the longest comic I have finished thus far at five pages...), so writing credit goes to them.

I hate Hasbro as much as the next gal but wotc has been pretty adamantly anti machine learning generated images, blacklisting artists for selling NFTs of their work and blacklisting that one artist who managed to slip a partially machine learning generated image past the art director before that was something an art director would pay attention to.

The layoffs are incredibly evil but you're not helping anyone by claiming wotc is pivoting towards "ai art" and by randomly accusing pretty normal job offers of being for someone who works with generated images or claiming that a pretty normal piece of art is machine learning generated

All this achieves is turning the very important anti machine learning generated image movement into a witchhunt

I need everyone to know that I have written 950 words in the last hour of basic planning for my Romana-as-Doctor AU. Highlights include:

She spends all of One's era alone, trying to evade the Time Lords who want to bring her back home for running away, before managing to erase herself

Jamie is her first real companion

She learns about and promptly tries to get rid of Pandora, which doesn't work, so she tries to destroy herself, which also doesn't work (on either count) and instead takes her memory for a time, which is the UNIT era (thanks for that idea @natequarter)

She and Sarah Jane are chaotic besties, and it's this era where she learns to really have fun

Of course she sacrifices herself for someone (probably Sarah) and regenerates

Romana II absolutely retains her suicidal eu undertones

She learns to respect Leela more than the Doctor actually does, but still leaves her behind when Romana deems it time

Susan also runs away as a student and becomes her companion for a bit (because she can’t be her own companion)

She actually does become President or something like it, but not until the Time War

She in some way sacrifices herself to end the war, but I haven't decided yet if the Time Lords are destroyed

I think Romana IV (eras 9-10) might be Jameela Jamil in my head

She's kind of melancholy and has all the same companions but vastly different dynamics with them

Romana V (era 12) is a man for the first time. Samson Kayo, maybe?

No Clara, but I think the Paternosters travel with him, and Bill happens but gets a better ending (finishes school and just takes fewer and fewer trips as she moves on with her life). Missy's arc still happens, but may or may not be to Missy.

Romana VI (eras 13-15 but skipping 14) is Jenna Coleman (hence no Clara). She is cunning and intense, and yes she has fun but doesn't share personal stuff any more than 13 does

At the bus stop one time there was a gaggle of preschoolers waiting to catch the bus for a field trip day, and someone walked past with a couple of friendly little dogs, to great general delight.

But after a little bit, the dogs were getting overwhelmed, and the preschoolers were gently coaxed to back off so the person with the dogs could continue on. Specifically, one of the preschool teachers said, "Sometimes, when you're small, being surrounded by big people can be a bit scary and overwhelming. Even if they are friendly."

This was recieved as great wisdom: after all, the preschoolers were also small, and understood how scary and overwhelming big people could be! And the dogs were indeed even smaller than the preschoolers, so it made sense.

What was funny and charming was that, upon absorbing and reflecting on this wisdom, they all felt the need to tell it to one another. In tones of great insight, they turned to one another and said, "Did you know? Sometimes when you are small, being surrounded by big people can be scary and overwhelming! Even if they are friendly!" Back and forth, without any particular concern that they were all saying the same thing. Have reached comprehension of an insight, it must be shared!

I must say that this behavior is less charming in tumblr users than in preschoolers. Not least because tumblr users, having gained a little analytical skill to misuse, insist on Summarizing and Generalizing and Unifying the insights they repeat, quickly turning any interesting new information into formulaic dogmatic mush.

...just heard about the upcoming perk changes...hmm...yeah. the only good one definitely is the adrenaline nerf. I've wanted them to take away healing off hook forever.

the other perk changes are ass.

ultimate weapon is still outrageously unfair, even if you take away the screaming! to me, it feels like they just saw the uptick in people using calm spirit following the addition of ultimate weapon, and decided "hm, the way to deal with this is to remove the screaming." no! this perks needs to be reworked differently! given a longer cooldown, something! it does way too much for just one perk!

DS buff isn't going to stop tunnelling. strong killers don't care if you stun them, and weaker survivors likely won't even have DS because it's licensed...waste of a buff. just as they should do with off the record, they need to spread out these important anti-tunnel strategies to general perks. it's so unfair that something this important be gated behind a DLC. and no one perk should ever be too strong!

also, I saw otz's commentary on the changes. I could not agree more that certain killers should be nerfed directly, rather than trying to just balance perks generally. not all killers interact with different perks the same... nurse, wesker, huntress, blight, etc do not care about a stun, even if it's increased in length. you need to change them & how their powers work in relation to stuns, so survivors have a chance to get away from them, rather than buffing the perk so that old man ghostface has an even worse time in this dogshit meta lmao.
