What do you think Maria was wearing as a caretaker in Research Hall? It feels for me like her hunter/knight outfit was a snapshot that traveled into Nightmare (so, the Hell) whereas in "reality" maybe hunter outfit was not so appropriate? Or maybe it WAS, since there ARE some Old Hunters on second floor too (floor where there are patients running on their four, no less). But even then doesn't look like Maria was a handler of more "animalistic" patients so far. I dunno what I am rambling about anymore, but share your thoughts! (And design if you have a doodle somehow?)

Ah yes, I finally have an excuse to talk about it more ! 

Alright first thing quickly about the nightmare : 

The problem with the hunter nightmare (+ nightmare frontier and Mensis) is that it’s complicated to see what WAS REAL (in the past) and what is well a nightmare, an amalgamate of reality and dreams or even what could be the apocalyptic future of Yharnam (it look so much like the nightmare frontier that is Loran but in surface. Is Loran really like this in the present ? Who knows)

As such, I don’t think living burned corpses walk on a blood river like we saw back at Ludwig era but who knows XD lol. Same with Laurence : did he really turned into a fire cleric beast or is it like this because well it’s a nightmare/purgatory for him (yes I know the debate with the bloodletting beast is another thing it’s not the subject for today so I will stopped here but I have some ideas XD) 

So, for Maria now. I think I already talk about it but I believed what we saw is an « incomplete » version of her. She’s missing a few things and what we fight might be  the « worst » part/version of her. The game descriptions tell use she didn’t liked to use blood blades and that she threw away her Rakuyo and stopped being a hunter right?  How did she fight us? With her Rakuyo and blood techniques! The thing she’s supposed to hate and have discarded in the first place ! But we’re in a nightmare right ? So it can work !

So yes, I don’t think Maria wear that at the research hall everyday like you might guess. Especially after not being a hunter anymore. It’s clothes made to fight not everyday clothes.

So in short, I imagined / interpret she would wear like the Doll set or smt similar to it most of the time/ sometimes.

I know I know. I already talk about this somewhere on my blog but it’s just my interpretation. Nothing tell us she wear that ? Well nothing tell us she didn’t wear it either 🤷‍♀️

I don’t know I think she would look super cool in both outfits <3 both characters are amazing after all!

Now, I’m going to developed a bit why I think she wear that at the research hall.

((No I swear it’s not about trying to redeem the old man for once ! )) Actually I thought she wear that because of a few things. One of those being the freaking winter lanterns! Yes let me explain

There’s church hunters at the research hall and doctors (were they hunters at this era ? Were they church hunters at the times? Idk) They have « normal »/ healing church clothes. The doll set is a mixt between a black church set and smt she could wear at Cainhurst I feel. + the doll do the women salute of the church. Yes maybe the hunters of the church taught her but I like to imagined Maria herself did all those little gestures at some point is her life.

Also I think for the patients sake a hunter outfit like Maria’s is not the best idea. Especially before they become blind right ? They would just be super scared ?! (Yes she’s a bit intimidating like this)+ I don’t think she would hold their hands with a huge leather glove. But the doll set ? Make way more sense as a caretaker. She's not a hunter anymore.

But I do like the idea of her wearing some kind of more practical clothes as well. You know trousers and like a fancy uniform or smt. Similar to the hunter set but not the hunter set x) 

Also i think either one of the doll set (the one the doll wear) was her own clothes or they are copies of things she used really used to wear in real life before. But the doll set is more for « festive » occasion too. Also she kept her boots and all !

About the research hall we see is in the nightmare. It’s hard to see what really happened when. I do hc that when Maria passed away it was a giant and horrible mess (idea I saw only once in parallel of mine!) it’s a story I hope to tell one day but it’s not the moment. Anyway what I’m trying to say is that we don’t know if all the dead patients/+going crazy happened all at the same time or if they just mixt everything.

Also! I always wonder of Maria status and role at the research hall. Yes she « took care » of patients, ok. But was she one in charge of all this mess and failure ? That would be a huge problem and not depict her greatly at all if that’s the case. If she was the one in charge. It’s also possible (my main idea) that she actually didn’t have that much power. She wasn’t in charge but a subordinate of the doctors maybe? That would explain why she just give the key to Adeline and don’t lead her herself directly to the garden 😔 (were strong arcane built patient are and are leaved alone?) she just couldn’t do it because she would had big problems maybe.

(I need to return to my funny meme one day and expand on it but I imagined that with the celestial dial she just was supposed to do astronomy at the beginning XD then try to supervise Caryll, Adeline, Rom (& Mico) so they don’t do anything stupid XD but hey while she’s here she wanted to help the patient and all.

Now the winter lanterns,there’s many theories (it’s not the debates of today either) but well it’s the same model as the doll right ? (Yes they could be dolls made by the church to help in the nightmare and all I like to imagined it’s also a nightmare of Maria herself. Like she dreamed of becoming like this. They kinda looked like the patients too don’t you think? And they have clothes similars to the doll so I thought oh Maria may have wear that back then too.

Damn I have many hc & stories idea for the Research Hall and post fishing Hamlet… (yes Maria killed beast dress like that XD Idk if it’s a good thing or nah for her but she saved people so)

Alright now here's the lil sketches I try to did today. Idk i tried do to something. (Don’t ask me about the first one idk it’s a flower in a pile of mud/ blood idk)

Ok so some beast show up at the RH/ grand Cathedral and Maria intervened to save people… trauma time yeah. She would have like to not do it but didn’t have a choice.

Babies ! Yeah i want to imagined that with Caryll,Rom etc and all they took care of the lil celestial larvae they bring back from Isz or begin to pop in Yharnam.

The 1% Of Chances | TWICE Jeongyeon x Male Reader Fanfic: CHAPTER 9

Hellooo! Damn, it's been almost 8 months now since I haven't updated this book, and I almost forgot where I left off, which required me to re-read this book and the plot outline I made. Sorry for those who waited, but what's important now is that IT'S BACK, and I'm finally going to finish this to lessen the worklist I have on my drafts. We are now down to 3 chapters left, and so far, I'm also applying some little changes to the ending because I just thought of something better than the originally planned one.

Actually, there's nothing much going on here in the entirety of this chapter, but it serves as a short "calm before the storm" moment that will finally set us up for the climax down to the conclusion of the story.

Since Jeongyeon doesn't have a schedule for today—which includes you as her personal manager—you've both agreed to go somewhere more fun with your spare time rather than just spending it in the dorm.

She offered to drive you home in Jeongyeon's own vehicle, taking the wheel as soon as you were done loading. You were taken aback at first, but because it was her initiating the task, you didn't mind objecting and allowing her to proceed so as not to ruin her fun.

You sat at the passenger's seat next to Jeongyeon and laughed together before she started the engine and operated the vehicle, stepping on the accelerator to get you both to your first destination.

"Do you want me to play some music while you drive?" You asked her, aware at the fact that although you can find yourselves some topic to talk about throughout the ride, it might die down and make the atmosphere a bit boring and quiet.

"Sure." She quickly replied to you, agreeing to listen too. "Hey, wanna do some carpool karaoke?"

"Was that like doing a karaoke while in a car?"

"Nice catch, genius…?" Jeongyeon looked at you in a deadpan manner which caused you to be slightly embarrassed. "Ofcourse silly, you just reversed the name. And yeah, it's simply singing along while we're on a ride."

"Hmm sure, I'll take the male vocals."

"Nope, I want you to sing with me even if it's female." Jeongyeon shook her head.

"I can't sing that well, my voice isn't low pitch." You declined. "And… it's making me shy."

"What? Why? It's just the two of us come on." Jeongyeon whined as she bounced at her seat to express her disappointment. "I wanna see you sing along to some female led-songs."

"I don't sing one, I'm mostly into male-leds."

"You sure?" She side-eyed you. "Hmm then what about when I saw you having that Sabrina Carpenter song on your Spot-"

"Okay okay stop!" You became flushed as you didn't expect Jeongyeon would use this as a retort card to capture you on the corner. "Ugh, fine. But I was just curious about it because I've been hearing it a lot on my Insta feed so… I tried to give it a listen."

"It was a vibe actually." She agreed.

"Yeah it sounds so good. Don't know her that much but that's probably one of my songs I could use to cheer myself up."

"Should we listen to it?"

"Okay…" You were about to search for it on your playlist until you paused. "Wait, we're gonna sing too right?"

"Mmhmm.."

"But her voice was smooth there, I might ruin the song with my monstrous voice."

"Hey, who told you that?!" Jeongyeon knitted her brows in disapproval at the self-deprecating term you chose. "I always thought you'd be a great voice actor or something, and you probably had such a great deep voice. It doesn't even matter if you can't match the notes; all I want is for us to have fun. Just go with the vibe of the song, that's all."

Also, don't you want your partner to be happy?" She was teasing you, pouting her lips and making fun at you with her sulky attitude. You've noticed her habit, and it was too irresistable to ignore without being continuously obstinate.

"Okay, fine, I'm going to play it. Damn it, Jeong, you really know how my weak spot is." You clicked your tongue as you pinched her cheeks, which made her giggle like a little girl. As you played the music, both you and her sang along together. She did laugh at you, but not because of how horrible you sound as what you think of yourself. You were pretty average, and she was just reacting this way because she was obviously impressed by you.

After going through your third song, you noticed in the GPS tracker that you're shortly meters away from reaching the place where you are heading both. You've decided to share something that popped into your mind.

"This is honestly my second time of going here." You recalled. "I remember when me and my family used to come here way before I was young."

"How old were you back then?"

"Hmm… 17 I guess?" You said. "It was a celebration for my brother being an honor awardee in his school. I kinda missed going here, well I wanted to bit you know, time passes and we grow old enough and some interests don't stay with us forever. My brother is already at the right age and he doesn't feel to visit these sort of place anymore like he used to be. Well even if he does, we still wouldn't be able to do so anyway."

"Why so?"

"Broken family." You bitterly smiled. "It won't feel the same as before anymore."

Jeongyeon looked at you concerned and gripped your hand. "Sorry to hear that. Hey, let's stop talking about it if it'll make you comfortable. We're now here, let's not kill the mood alright?"

"Yeah, sorry Jeong. It's my fault."

"No, don't mind it. You just want to recollect some memories you had, and you know I'm willing to listen to your stories anytime you want. I'll be here if you need something to release within yourself okay?" She lightly punched you in the chest then ruffled your hair.

"Okay." You smiled nicely at her. She gave you a quick kiss on the lips after that, increasing your energy back at its full capacity for today.

"Let me park this big boy right here first." She said as she paid for the parking fee at the guard before proceeding to enter the vacant lot.

You and Jeongyeon got out of your car and took your stuff after finding a spot to park for a while. You take her hand obediently as she shows the tickets to gain entry into Lotte Park, your first of three destinations to have some alone time together. You strolled across the park's entrance afterwards.

She put on her mask to reduce the attention she might get from individuals who might recognize her as a member of TWICE and a K-Pop idol. Even if it means that she will have to give up her freedom to display her bare face in public, she doesn't want anyone to disrupt this moment with you. She doesn't care because, at this point, all that matters to her is to be with you today.

"Where should we head on first?" Jeongyeon said as she viewed the entire interior of the amusement park, the different rides, attractions, arcades and many more all visible in your eyes to choose.

"Hmm… I want to… I want to eat first."

"Yah, seriously?" She chuckled at you. "We just ate before going out of the dorm and now you're hungry again?"

"I love eating, you can't blame me."

"You're also unfair and unbelievable, you know? You eat this much and yet you don't get fat." Jeongyeon elbowed you on the stomach. "Alright, you male counterpart of Momo, what fast-food chain you want?"

"Some hotdog station will do."

"I'm easy to talk with, so let's go." She grabbed your wrist and pulled it with her like you're a child being dragged along by your mother.

Reaching the 2nd floor where the food section is at, both of you stepped in front of the hotdog station where you wanted to eat. She lets you choose the order first since you're the one who requested this, and you kindly obliged to it.

Minutes later, you have received your foods altogether and ate it while watching the visitors around the place, having fun in their own ways. Even at sightseeing was fun to do so with your carefree and adventurous girlfriend, there won't be an instance where she wouldn’t try to find something hilarious for both of you to share laughters with.

For instance, she was telling you how much the other members enjoyed hotdogs when she just broke out into laughter. She mentioned that she had just witnessed a dad stumble in front of the playhouse while chasing his child when you asked her why. Even though you may not have witnessed it directly, Jeongyeon's laughter is contagious enough to make you get along with her easily.

After emptying your hotdogs, Jeongyeon brought yourselves back onto the main business of going here in the park. You immediately said your first preference to try.

The couple has attempted almost the entire selection of rides, attractions, and arcades all around the main lobby of the park, leading to yourself being highly exhausted from the adrenaline, enthusiasm, and laughter you have both spent playing like crazy.

You two rest on a bench first to conserve your energy for the next destination. You volunteered to wipe Jeongyeon's sweat across her back and arms and also bought some cotton candy for you and her. Another brief conversation has passed through, and after making yourselves satisfied, you exit and ride the car again with her to head to the following location.

You took the wheel this time as you let Jeongyeon sleep for a while after she shared that she's feeling sleepy. It was a silent ride, so you reopened your playlist and played it at a minimal volume to avoid disrupting your girlfriend's peaceful sleep.

It took like 45 minutes to get to the Seoul Museum of History, which was your suggestion to visit with her since you have to learn the history of everything, from its origin to how it evolved and what it left for the next generations to either adapt or innovate with respect to the progress of time in our world.

You woke up, Jeongyeon, after successfully reaching the designatedplace. She nodded in response, and she did some adjustment of her look to prevent looking haggard outside from her sleep. Bringing your camera with you, she walked with you again with arms clasped on each other, accompanying you towards the entrance of the museum.

You happen to roam around and snap pictures of the items, people, and events that transpired or existed in South Korea with Jeongyeon as a keepsake of your time spent with her, and these areas are organized into categories via each floor. Additionally, Jeongyeon was amazed and intrigued by several fascinating informations you learnt about Seoul and South Korea as a whole.

Once you've finished looking over all of the artifacts, antiques, statues, and other items on exhibit inside, you tell Jeongyeon that your time is up and you may go on to your final destination and finish the day with her.

Driving under the sky of Korea, about to greet the nightfall with the gradual emergence of the bright moon and the soft transition of the clarity of the clouds to the darkness of the aerial perspective, you and Jeongyeon calmly watched the surroundings you two were passing while on the way there.

Sighting the familiar spot from the distance, it brought relief for the both of you that you have made through all of these safely and successfully, bringing much joy to each other. Parking the car again for the third time, you joined Jeongyeon to stroll with you around Seokcheon Lake Park, your final place to spend the remaining time available tonight with her.

Apart from the rows of cherry blossoms that surrounding them, both of them were thrilled to capture the stunning scenery that would be perfect for a lovely pair like you and Jeongyeon.

You have spotted a tteobokki cart and without hesitation, you bought each for yourselves and claimed an available bench in front of the lake as you take a break along with her.

"Oh… mhmm… wow. Tteobokki will always remain one of the greatest foods I've ever tasted." You complimented after chewing the rice cake and sipping its sweet and spicy sauce.

"I'm with you on that." She also took a bit again and hummed at how satisfying delicious it is. "We did shaped this day better as what we expected, right?"

"And we deserve this too, after such hectic schedule that we had from you. I just hope the girls are doing well too on their own." You replied.

"I'm most certain they are. They aren't choosy or like timid to try something to entertain themselves through their day off. They're basically easy to explore things as long as they develop interest to it." She said.

You finished your food and threw it at the nearby trash bin before returning beside your girlfriend and cuddle with her. While watching the reflection of the nightsky through the crystal clear water of the lake, you inserted a topic that suddenly crossed your mind.

"Jeongyeon, do you think we'll last long?"

She looks at you before returning her gaze back at the scenery in front of you two. You felt her shoulders shrug, but the way her arms clenched yours tighter is enough to confirm her answer.

"I don't know, but I really hope we do. We just have to commit ourselves to do anything that won't break our trust for each other."

"Yeah, and for me… I don't even think it's possible for neither one of us to fell out of love someday. Especially me, I really do love you a lot, Jeongyeon. So much that I think even after everything that may happen to us for better or for worse, my heart would always bring me back to you."

"Can tell the same as mine." Jeongyeon smiled and made her head more comfortable laying atop on your shoulder. "We'll either just leave the fate on us… or we create a fate of our own where no matter what happens, from the start until the end, it will still remain to be you and I forever."

"I really can't wait for our wedding in the future." You chuckled as you caress her hand, especially the finger that you would love to insert your engagement and wedding ring for her. "But about that… I still have something to accomplish first before we get through there."

Jeongyeon may have caught what you meant by that. "Are you sure about that, YN?"

"They definitely knew about our relationship now anyway, it's all around the news and internet. I say we must not take them too long waiting for us to confirm it ourselves."

"So you're ready now."

"Almost… but I can handle it. I-I'm a bit nervous still at what your parents are going to react."

"They have no problem with it when they confronted me about it. They're nice, YN. I'm sure you'll easily win their approval, I mean… you fit the qualities of what they like the most for a guy that will take their daughter to marry." Jeongyeon giggled and and blushed at that fact.

"So you mean they're not also against on you loving a non-celebrity guy like me?"

"Tsk, as if they give a damn about it." She rolled her eyes and stared at you a bit intensely. "Them and even I don't need somebody who is also popular to be told as my perfect match. I take love seriously, and what I need in return is somebody who can give me that pure and sincere. I'm not someone who prefers bragging a relationship because of our social status, I just want a man who is willing to love me for who I am inside and outside, and I found it from you, YN. Because of that, you have stolen my heart and gave me the feels."

She tried to be serious after admitting it all to you until she slowly cracks a laughter after she saw your expression noticing something suspcious.

"Wait a minute…" You also began to cackle with her. "Did you really just included a reference to The Feels?"

"Yah! I thought I was too slick for that." She conceded defeat. "But I said what I said, and you know I mean what I mean, YN."

You pulled her head against you and kissed her directly on the lips, which took some time for yourselves to separate as you encouraged her to move your mouths deeper to make your intimacy more passionate, just as you wanted it.

You leaned away for a second and stared deeply at Jeongyeon's sparkling eyes while brushing her pink tinted cheeks. "I know, Jeongyeon, and I'll always have it on my mind while I feel your love for me."

"Great, then get back here and let me give you more." She pulled your collar through her, forcefully inviting you back into another heated kiss of affection.

As they arrived on the dorm, you both tried to continue making out with each other when suddenly it got interrupted again when you felt a stinging pain again in your head returned from yesterday.

"YN what's happening to you?" Your girlfriend checks up on you as she observes you loose the hem of her shirt from your grip while you groan and crunch your face.

"It's hurting again…"

"What? Where is it?"

"My head." You said as you hold your skull to endure the kicking pain that causes you severe discomfort.

It made Jeongyeon alerted at your condition. She went through the first aid kit and looked for some painkiller pills and filled a glass of water before going back to you and instructed you to take it.

You followed her advice and she let you lay your head beside her neck as she cuddled you. She slowly laid you down on the bed with her and gently stroked your hair.

"Calm down, YN. It will be gone shortly. I think you're tired of everything we did today, so rest up for now okay?"

"Okay."

"There you go. Goodnight and love you." She kissed you on the forehead before she continues taking care of you.

"Love you too, Jeong. Goodnight."

Both of you went calm that it disappeared and the medicine worked atleast… although only for a while.

Two days later while you are currently helping the stylists who are applying make ups to Jeongyeon and cleaning all the managers' leftover food containers, another episode of pain attacked your head again. It became confusing and quite frightening to you that the more you're suffering from this, the more painful it gets compared to last time .

What's surprising was that it didn't also occur at night which was way earlier today, pointing that it also happens now at a random period of time.

“Unnie, he’s been like this since few days ago. I don’t know what to do.”

"Jeongyeon, join YN. I'll call emergency and JYP for a while." Sadness said as she hurriedly reported your condition to both of these important people that can hold responsibility for your currently worrying state.

She returned to the dressing room, passing through staffs and the other TWICE members who are heavily scared and worried for both of their friends. "The ambulance are on their way now. JYP also agreed and mentioned that he will pay some visit for YN afterwards."

"Thank you unnie." Jeongyeon nodded before she returned her gaze at you who is still clenching your body like a ball while gripping your head furiously in pain.

"Hold on for a while, YN. Okay? Help is coming. Please, I hope nothing bad must happen to you," she said as she started to get teary-eyed seeing the love of her life suffering in her arms.

The medical team arrived at the place a few minutes later and immediately rescued the poor YN, putting him on a stretcher while Jeongyeon insisted on joining her boyfriend's side on the way to the hospital.

She guarded you intently, watching you barely opening your eyes and weakly breathing, while the thoughts and feelings disturbing her were filled with fear and anxiety regarding your health.

Anon asked: I don’t know if this is too personal or not, but if you feel comfortable sharing, what prompted you to make a return after not posting at all for about 3 years?

A: That's okay, I don't mind you asking. To be honest, I just suffered from art block for a very long time. I couldn't get myself to draw no matter how hard I tried. I would sit myself down and try to force myself to do it, but I just couldn't. I don't know why it went away and I don't know why it came back, but suddenly my spark came back with a vengeance! I'm back to wanting to draw all the time! I think that's both the wonderful and awful thing about creativity: you can't force it. It sucks, but hopefully I can serve as proof to others who are going through it that you can spring back from it.

A: I went through a severe art block and hadn't drawn anything for a long time, even though I had the whole script for it written out. However since getting my mojo back, I've completely re-written the story and am working on it again. A: I did have a Patreon once upon a time, but it gave me severe imposter syndrome lol It put too much pressure on me to put out content that I thought was worthy enough for people to be paying for, so I ultimately closed it down. It doesn't mean I won't ever open it up again, but I don't have any immediate plans to do that. Also regarding the spice haha 😅 I appreciate your interest, but I just don't like to share that kind of content.

A: I don't watch much anime anymore, but I used to be obsessed with Naruto. That's primarily what I would draw back in my dA days, but I lost interest in it a long time ago. I also loved Fruits Basket, Kill La Kill, One Punch Man and Attack on Titan. There are other shows I've watched, but those were the major series. I haven't seen the series you mentioned, sorry!

A: So far my favorite game-movie adaptation is the Super Mario Bros movie! I love it so much! I love that they kept the style of the game but made it a little more polished than what you'd get in the games. I loved the characters, I loved all the references within it, I loved the music. Anon asked: I was wondering what your favourite brotherly head cannon would be between Sonic and Tails? :3

A: Even though Sonic's older and technically raised Tails, I love the idea of them sort of "raising each other." Sonic teaches Tails how to defend himself, how to navigate the world, how to do the right thing, but Tails is the one who teaches Sonic how to read and write, introduces him to philosophical discussions that Sonic finds really boring but actually helps him to be a better hero and be a better version of himself. I even like the idea of Tails being the one to teach Sonic how to play music. Sonic has a natural talent for it, but Tails is the one to teach him notes and chords, how to actually read sheet music, things like that.

A: Thanks so much! As a whole I'd say it was okay. It certainly wasn't the best Sonic media out there in my opinion but no way was it the worst. I understand it's a kid's show, but it was way too formulaic for me. It got to the point where I could pretty much bet "in 2 minutes Character A is going to seem like all is lost, then a loud explosion/sudden shake will happen, and they'll look up like 'whuAHHH???' and Character B will show up to help." That's fine, but not when it's happening multiple times every single episode. So to be honest, it wasn't a show that I looked forward to watching like I did with Sonic Boom. It was just something I had on because it was Sonic-related. But Sonic Prime had a lot of good character writing and the acting was great. They explored character relationships/dynamics and emotions that some other Sonic content hasn't done before, so I applaud them for that. It's mirroring what happened in Sonic Frontiers and I love that the franchise is willing to dig a little deeper on an emotional level like that. And I've said it before but I'll say it a million times more: Shadow was PERFECT! The positive of having Shadow portrayed so excellently far outweighed any negatives I could say for the show!

A: Aurora discovers her light abilities when she's young (think about preteen age), but she doesn't fully know what all she can do yet. It takes a lot of experimenting and studying with Uncle Tails to figure out everything she can do. He is the one who tells her that if she can bend light, she should be able to use it to cloak herself. Tails and Sonic obviously mean she should use it as a defensive move, but Aurora instantly thinks it's the perfect power for pranks! Picture a lot of objects "floating" around the house with a lot of phony "OooooOOoooOOOO" ghost noises haha

Anon asked: Is aurora a comic book fan? If so what’s her favorite series

A: Aurora can enjoy super hero related stuff, but she's not an avid fan of it and I would say she does not read comics. Aurora is more into fantasy/romance books. Ruff is the one who is into comic books :) His favorite would be Batman.

A: Thank you! I've been thinking about it and I like the idea of Sage and CC being rivals, but in a very cheeky, friendly way. Sort of like Sonic and Knuckles. Sage and CC would make everything into a competition to see who can solve this problem fastest or who can simulate something best, to determine who is truly the more intelligent of the two AIs. But again, not in a toxic way. In a "I have to be the best version of myself in order to beat you because the respect I have for you is insanely high" kind of way. And Sage could playfully tease CC for wanting to become organic because it'd be a "step backwards" in her evolution, but really she'd work to find a way to help make CC's dream come true.

A: Orange is in the same color family as red and pink, so I think it still works. As far as color theory, in my AU Aurora has a grandma who is yellow and Shadow's fur includes red, so by blending those colors you can get orange. It's the same reason why Nova is purple, it's a blend of colors from their lineage. I tried Cinder out in several different colors but orange is ultimately what fit him best.

A: They're more like best friends than sisters/cousins. I know people draw Sage growing older and stuff but I personally headcanon that she'd stay in the form of a child because she feels no need to grow up. But once she's friends with Aurora, then I could see her "aging" up alongside Aurora so that she always matches her friend. It's just a headcanon of mine for now and that could ultimately change in the future.

Anon asked: Has Aurora ever been to space before if so what were her thoughts. Was she like markiplier with the whole space is so cool song.

A: Aurora DESPERATELY wants to go to space more than anything! But for most of her life she hardly ever left her home. It isn't until she's grown up that she actually starts to properly explore the world. Eventually I want her to go to space, but it would be once she's living on her own.

A: You are just so sweet, thank you! You know I'm very pro tats and I love seeing what people think the different Sonic characters would get. For my AU, I only have two (technically three) characters depicted with tattoos. Amy's dad Clay Rose has two tattoos on his bicep: A heart with his wife's name in it, and then a matching little heart with Amy's name in it. Adult Knuckles has a simple "M.E." tattooed on his bicep. It's a reference to Knuckles' theme and also his dedication to the Master Emerald. Lastly, I have the human version of Cinder (but only the human version) with forearm sleeves that continue down his hands. So far those are the only characters I have with tattoos. As far as piercings, most of my characters have ear piercings but they don't often wear earrings. Blitz and Lulu are the only characters who always wears earrings. I could see Shadow getting at least an ear pierced, but I headcanon that with his rapid healing that it would almost instantly close if he didn't actively wear a piercing at the time.

A: I currently see PIper as demiromantic. She is currently not interested in anyone romantically or physically, and I don't want to diminish that part of her identity by saying 'Oh but she'll eventually end up with __." Of course, a headcanon is whatever you want so if you personally ship her with a woman that's cool with me!

Anon asked: Hey evay, i was looking at this old info of Amy, and It says that she wans't always at home, did Aurora had any issue with that? Did some part of her childhood she could say that she had mother issues? (Sorry if you can't understand, my english it's terrible 💀)

A: Your English is excellent! I wouldn't go so far as to say Aurora had mother issues. Amy wasn't completely absent from Aurora's youth, she was just working a lot so she wasn't constantly at home the way Sonic was. It would have made things a little awkward/emotional at times because that naturally made Aurora favor Sonic a little more when she was younger, but that also made the times she did have with Amy all the more special. Aurora never thought to herself "My mom has abandoned me because she's never home," it was more of a "Work is stupid and being grown up is stupid because it means Mom can't stay home and play with me all day." Aurora and Amy grow a lot closer as Aurora gets older and better understands the meaning of responsibilities and commitment.

A: Wow, that's so kind of you to say! Thank you so much! I hope you do make ref sheets for your characters :) I haven't planned anything with Silver for my AU yet. To be honest, I don't know his character very well and I try my best to always keep the original characters in-character, so that's why I haven't done anything with him yet. But I recently purchased the volumes of IDW comics and I'm hoping to understand him better and then I will be more confident writing him! Secondly, none of the Shadora horde are immortal. They have stronger immune systems so they can heal faster and are less likely to get sick than the average Mobian, but they are still mortal and still age at a normal rate. A: Thank you so much! I need to make a comic about it. When they were young they were all exploring the different zones and Cinder was really struggling with some of the obstacles so he was already getting quite aggravated. Diamond noticed this and offered to help because some problems are better solved as a team, and Cinder immediately gets pissed and tells her to buzz off. She gets upset that he snaps at her, and there's some escalation between the two and finally Cinder blows up at her (literally). He immediately regrets it as he did not mean to hurt her, but the damage is already done.

degux asked: What would happen if Metal Sonic ( somehow :v ) met CC ?

A: Hmm. Well, even though Metal Sonic is based on Sonic, I love stories that involve him having an identity crisis and ultimately deciding that he's not just going to be a clone. He's his own entity, right? They're alike, but they're not the same. I don't know where he'd be on that self journey by the time he meets CC, but she'd definitely see him as his own person, not as a Sonic copy. But likely he'd still be an antagonist, so they'd end up having to battle lol

A: They definitely exist in my AU, but I haven't completely decided what their roles are yet. I can see Vector becoming Cream's stepdad (I'm not passionate about the VanillaXVector ship but I know it's practically canon), and then that leads me down a rabbit hole (pun intended) of how does that affect the dynamics of Team Chaotix? I have some rough ideas but I need to spend more time on it.

A: ¡Gracias! The character you're referring to was an OC made by my friend Nana, a Sonamy fankid named Spazz. I sometimes drew him interacting with Aurora because my friend Nana and I just liked to draw our characters interacting, but Spazz is not a part of my AU. Nana is no longer on tumblr so that's why there aren't any Spazz art/comics anymore.

A: Infertility is a very real issue that many people (including those very close in my life) deal with. Although I do think it's very important for people to be able to see their experiences reflected in the media they consume to help them remember that they aren't alone in their experience, this is not something I wanted Sonic and Amy to have to deal with for Boom!Baby. The chapter where Sonic references making multiple attempts during a certain window of time was not meant to imply that they were struggling with infertility. It was instead supposed to show that now that they've both decided they want a child, Amy doesn't want to take any chances to make sure it happens lol. TMI - Even without fertility issues, getting pregnant is not always guaranteed so it can take a lot of planning and timing (and frankly, luck) to be successful. Super TMI - I headcanon that Sonic and Amy are already intimate A LOT so now that they're trying for a baby it's above and beyond and that's why Sonic is tired in that chapter lol

A: Hello! I have seen the movies and I read some of the books, but I don't know the series all that well. Actually, I don't remember Ginny being in the movies much at all, so I was a little confused when she and Harry ended up together. Maybe there was more to it in the books that I just never read. So if I'm going solely based on the movies I've seen, I can't say that I see the correlation. But that's not to say you're wrong in thinking that :)

A: There definitely are ships that I don't understand. But if I don't understand or don't like a ship (or fan theories, or whatever), I'd rather just not talk about them. I used to indulge in that style of arguing discussion when I was a kid but I don't do that kind of stuff anymore. If I don't get something I just say "That's not for me" and move along. I do support the MetAmy ship myself but it's not at the top of my ship list (lol). I like it because Metal Sonic is based on Sonic, and if they're meant to be similar and I believe that Sonic does care about Amy, then that logic would tell me that Metal cares about Amy, too. And even though Metal is a villain, Amy does care about his well being (just like she cares about everyone's well being). Metal Sonic is also one of the main reasons Amy and Sonic met in the first place, so I think she holds a special place in her heart for him, even if it's not 100% romantic. That's my reasoning, but I don't want or expect you to change your opinion.

A: Hmm, I think my fav Shadora art is the comic where Shadow and Aurora discuss her "wings" (back quills). It started out as just a fluffy piece but I think it really set the tone for their relationship in my stories. As far as a double date -- I could see them trying a double date early on when Shadow first states his intention to date Aurora, but it doesn't go well. Years later when Sonic is more accepting of their relationship I could see them occasionally going out for lunch/dinner together instead of just their weekly family dinners at home.

A: CC doesn't need to rest, but Tails is so soft that she just loves to lay against him so she'd definitely use him for a lap pillow more. BONUS POINTS for using his tails as a shawl around her shoulders! Shadow is more likely to rest his head in Aurora's lap. The way she strokes his quills is very soothing and makes him feel content. She also has thick thighs so very, very comfy for lap pillows!

Since everyone is sharing their experience with meeting David Tennant, here's my story:

Of course, I was just as nervous to meet him as most people but I was able to steady myself before it was my turn by taking a few breaths (just because I tend to be nervous at eye to eye conversations in general). In the end, I had to re-do my Photo-Op with him three times because of my glasses and felt really bad for the people in line having to wait even longer because of me. Which is why I was so nervous the third time, that I broke off a part of my Sonic Screwdriver while trying to pack away my glasses. I apologized while fumbling with the screwdriver to not waste any time and he was so kind, said it's okay and already placed a hand on my back while I did so. We did a pose where we both hold the screwdriver together and it's such an amazing picture. Our hands even form a heart, which was not on purpose but it's such a cute detail. In the end, I was able to look into his eyes again and apologize once more (for taking so much time when actually, that was not a problem to anybody. As my therapist would say, the stress is just made up by my head).

At the end of the day, I went to get this photo signed and I was first in line. Which I was not prepared for. The first thing I said to him was that I hope he gets to enjoy the day here despite his schedule. Which, for some reason, made him look up at me in surprise. He then said he does and I handed him the bracelet I made. A rainbow bracelet that says "Ally" and told him it's a thank-you for all his support of the community and that he helps many people with this, like @ineffable-ezra (Yes, I mentioned you like I had promised). He looked at it and said "Thank you so much! I really appreciate this!" He did not smile. He just looked genuinely thankful.

Sometime later, I saw that he forgot the personal dedication. Which was okay but everyone else had one so I went back to the line and asked if it would be a problem to get the dedication real quick. You must know, his schedule was already delayed and I didn't want to cause any more stress. And it was okay. The fan that was in front of me, talked to him a bit too long but his manager didn't interrupt them nonetheless, even though time was running out. Afterwards we got told that they don't want to be rude but he has to get to the airport. So I just said I'm sorry to be here again (like, how many times do I get in the line again because something goes wrong) but he forgot the personal dedication. And he looked so surprised! "I forgot to write your name? I'm sorry!" Told him it's okay and that it was lovely to have him there and that I hope he enjoyed it.

The thing is, when I read other stories, most people made more out of their time with David. But if you know how stressful a few minutes of delay can be for the entire schedule, you don't want to cause any more trouble. And I really tend to worry myself too much with thoughts like this.

David was so kind nonetheless and didn't let me feel like he was stressed (even though he rushed out to get his flight at the end of the day).

I'm just very grateful I got to meet him at all. He was so kind. Of course I wish I could've or would've said some more. Like I wanted to tell him I hope the bracelet fits because I wasn't sure about the size and such things... But for someone with a neurodivergence, I just need my few seconds of preparation which I haven't had. And when I think about it, it's the small details I enjoy so much nonetheless. His surprised look when I said I hope he enjoys the day, like this question was really unexpected for him or the gentleness when I was nervous and genuine appreciation for the bracelet.

We all know he's a sweetheart but I think events like this truly show how lovely he really is.

Hello, I'm new to the jujutsu fandom, I've already watched season 1 of the movie and I'm in season 2 of jujutsu, I also follow the jujutsu manga, I liked your tumblr and started following you, I like your analyzes and you make me understand more jujutsu, thank you. I have a question, don't you think Sukuna is a boring villain, sorry, but he's too annoying, even Mahito is more interesting than him and it's impressive that Mahito gave more weight to the work than Sukuna, Sukuna killed Gojo and his death It had no significance in the work, it's something terrible, I think the author got lost.

All that to say: I'm glad you're here (both in the fandom and in my inbox)! Bear in mind, these are very much just the impassioned rants of a silly little person on the internet so who knows.

One thing that I've realized about JJK villains, especially in most recent chapters, is they're never quite who we assume at face value. In this battle between humans and the negative human emotions that spawn curses... each of the villains has a really striking human quality to them whether we understand it or not. In fact, it makes their whole mission of toppling the current paradigm that much more interesting when you consider their origin. I think it was Jogo who said curses were more human than humans which... when you look at the root cause of Geto's defection... he might be onto something.

To that end, Mahito wasn't really lying when he told Yuji that they were one in the same. Humans and curses are two sides of the same coin.

⚠️ Spoiler warning for chapter 248 of JJK.

If you haven't read the light novels, you'd be interested to find that in a chapter I don't overanalyze, there's a story focused around Mahito. It appears in Jujutsu Kaisen Summer of Ashes, Autumn of Dust.

In the chapter, our typical chaos gremlin who is quick to torture first and question never stumbles upon a vagrant. He finds, in the company of a man who has not and wants not, that he exists harmoniously and curiously. In his soul, he sees an unflappable peace that is not evident in other humans and behaves accordingly around him. Day after day, he causes no harm. They even converse, reasonably and academically to an extent. Uh - Mahito is like an avid reader, by the way. While you can argue this is outside of the realm of what's canon, think of Jogo's affinity to mourn Hanami. Hoping to meet Dagon in the wasteland of souls beyond. Very human hopes which are even echoed by Mahito in canon when Haruta the curse user was sneakily going to kill Hanami. Mahito stopped him with intention because even curses have camaraderie which the humans they consort with apparently lack.

Kenjaku is another villain where, even in his twisted delights and subsequent plans for the future, safely delivers Sasaki outside of the realm of the Culling Games and thanks her for befriending his son... What? This appreciation is so humble and endearing but, of course it is, it is that of a mother. Something he decisively lacks with Choso and the cursed womb paintings but still. It goes against the grain of the rest of his character, you know?

Toji, the man who can't be bothered to remember the name of the kid he sold back to the hell hole he grew up in and yet thinks of him as he breathes his last breaths. When his body was reanimated in Shibuya and was hardwired to find and fight the strongest... that recognition on his face when he realized who he was fighting? The animation did a beautiful job of clearing the black of his eyes, softening his gaze toward Megumi. Knowing that it was Megumi Fushiguro and not Zenin he took himself out, happily. Doesn't really ring true of how a lot of fans interpret him as a character.

Now, we have Sukuna. I agree, he seems to be somewhat flat in characterization so far but.. so was everyone else until we got the effective cowlick that indicated their complexity. Now, 248 chapters in, we're seeing the chip in his facade.

Gojo is no stranger to dying though he is extremely unused to comparison. He's the Strongest Sorcerer of the Modern Era, after all. But I wonder if it makes sense to call Sukuna his foil. Imagine Gojo's unchecked ego had he never met Geto. I imagine a life of isolation carrying the burden of one's own grace and strength would absolutely turn out similar to Sukuna's wherein there is no need for purpose beyond one's own whims.

Subsequently, Gojo dying at Sukuna's hands and earning his respect was the first real human connection we see Sukuna receive positively (he gave Jogo a pretty sweet send off, too). It was done with intention, even Gojo hoped to communicate with his tempered body the fact that he too knew that isolation. In universe, it seems to be a form of love (search for "Of Love and Strength" on this post), this understanding. This lapse in Sukuna's indifference is furthered in facing off against fan favorite lawyer Hiromi Higurama.

Following Gojo's demise, Gege has been comparing a lot of characters to the vacuum of power left in his wake. Yuta, I get, but Higurama is an absolute wild card. However, Sukuna sees something in him that he not only respects in this comparison to Gojo... but also stymies him. Especially as he meaningfully comes to terms with his dismissal and abhorrence of Yuji.

What we're seeing is the blossom of his character playing out amidst an all or nothing fight. Stay strapped in, anon!

A/N: I adore this concept more than you can possibly know. As soon as this chapter is posted, I will be reading up everything you have on it. It just sounds so fun!(I didn't read it b4 hand cause I didn't want to accidently copy smth. Hope it still fits lol) Kinda took the post Kraang part and ran with it tbh. Also, in my defense, I have like 5 Leo WIPs rn, I just haven't gotten around to finishing them. But this seemed like the best 1st Leo post I could ever make, so it got major priority. Summary: It's two weeks after the Kraang invasion, and you haven't seen Leo since.

I stare down at the broken city, disappointed with the destruction the Kraang brought with them. Sure, I wasn’t exactly what could be called a stand-up citizen, but this was my home too. It had been two weeks since the Kraang invasion, two weeks since I had fought alongside the people I had known as enemies, two weeks since I had last seen them alive. After the Kraang ship exploded and the portal closed, I hadn’t seen any of the turtles or their friends. Not that I’m worried of course. They were all resilient, able to survive everything thrown at them thus far. Even if they weren’t okay, I was a villain and they were heroes. Something happening to them would just be a relief to the constant thorn in my side they insist on being. I couldn’t start caring about them, not now. No matter how much I was worried.

I turned around, facing away from the broken city. Repairs had started, but it would take a long time. People were missing, buildings had fallen, and morale had gone down. After all, an alien invasion wasn’t something even New York could instantly bounce back from. We would heal, but it would take months, even years. I start to head back to my home, jumping across the rooftops when I can and using the fire escapes on others. It was calming, the wind brushing against my face as I ran. I avoid the remaining rubble and the broken glass littering the rooftops, not wanting to slice open my legs.

I take a running jump, feeling myself being suspended in the air before gravity takes hold once more. Shifting my weight, I crouch down as I land, trying to lessen the impact on my still bruised legs. I use the momentum from the landing to shoot myself forwards, laughing as I feel the wind against my face. I get ready to make the next jump, my arms swinging backwards to help gain the right momentum, but I falter when I hear a voice in the distance. Leo’s voice. Slowing down, my arms sticking out to the sides as I try to not fall, my head snaps over to where I heard his voice. I knew I shouldn’t care, why did it matter that I heard him? We were enemies, I hated him, and he hated me. Right? I ignore my screaming brain, walking forwards and peering over the edge of the roof.

There they were, the four turtles and their human friends. Gross. I let out a grimace, watching as they waited in the alley, 3 pizza boxes in the orange ones arms. I continue to scan over them out of curiosity, trying to find Leo. His brothers were all there, having minimal damage done to them(Except the red one, but I already figured his shell wasn’t the only thing damaged the last I saw him.) I kept seeing basic glances of Leo, but the red one was blocking my view. I huff in frustration, moving along the edge of the roof to try and see him better. I could hear him just fine, but I wanted to see him.

I jump to a slightly lower building, keeping in the shadows so they don’t notice me. I had no idea why I cared so much, but I felt like I needed to see Leo. I wanted to make sure he was safe too. I duck down farther behind the ledge of the rooftop, the entrance to Run Of The Mill opening as someone stepped out. A very goat-like purple yōkai, stepped out. I groan, grimacing as I look at Baron Draxum. I let out a huff of air, frustrated. I give up on staying behind to check on Leo. I heard his loud voice, so he was probably fine. 

I keep quiet as I climb up a building, leaping across the residential and commercial buildings. If I really wanted to, I could just cause chaos in a few weeks to make sure they all showed up. But right now? Right now I just wanted to sleep. I jump onto a building with a wider roof, looking across the skyline. The broken city still managed to be beautiful, the people on the ground scurrying to be wherever they were needed. I hear a small thud behind me, my ears picking up the familiar pattering of footsteps. I continued to scan the horizon, pretending I was oblivious to the figure behind me. I grip my knife and shift my weight slightly, waiting until the perpetrator was in range. Once I could hear the breath of the person, I turned around, sweeping their legs from under them and holding a knife to their throat.

The attacker lets out a small yelp and a groan as they hit the ground, a shaky smile on their green face as they look up at me. It was Leo. I quickly get off of him, pulling him up with me as I put my knife back into its sheath on my side. I take in his appearance, my mouth pressing into a tight line as I notice his bandages. His carapace was completely wrapped up, as well as most of his platron. Different bandage wraps were scattered all over him, covering most of his scaly skin from sight. 

“What happened to you?” I ask, a small frown on my face. Leo’s smile never drops, pulling me into a tight hug.

“I missed you too! You know, it’s been so boring without you stirring up trouble every other day.” Leo pulls back from the hug, a hand on each of my shoulders as he shakes me lightly, mock disappointment on his features. “You disappeared before my grand finale! You didn’t even get to see how awesome I was! You are one cruel, cruel frenemy, you know that?”

I roll my eyes, batting his hands off my shoulders. “Oh please, I had more important things to do. Like, oh I don’t know, making sure Kraang minions didn’t kill a bunch of people?” I jut my hip out, looking Leo up and down again. “Seriously though, what happened after I left?”

“Aww, does someone care?” Leo teases, a smug grin on his face. My frown deepens, knowing I shouldn’t be upset he was wounded. I shouldn’t care. I should be ecstatic he got hurt, the only thing I should be upset about is that he wasn’t knocked out of commission. We were enemies, they were friends of Draxum.

I turn around, trying to ignore the hole of despair growing in my chest. He was covered in so many bandages, new scars covering his visible skin. I felt sick just looking at him. Would he have been fine if I stayed? If I didn’t rush off? I couldn’t think of it right now, not wanting to come to terms with the fact that I cared for him.

Leo grabs my arm before I can jump to the next roof, pulling me back and putting his hands back on my shoulders, keeping me in place. “Hey, what’s gotten into you? Are you okay?” His voice is soft and his eyes are full of concern. It all just makes me feel worse. “You’re usually spitting back one liners and being all sarcastic, did something happen?”

I look back at Leo, chewing on the inside of my cheek as I try to figure out how to explain what I was feeling. I sigh, pulling Leo in for a hug, being careful not to put too much pressure on any of his wounds. I assumed I did a good job, as Leo just laughed and hugged me tighter against him. “It’d just be really inconvenient if something happened to you. You can’t just leave me with your brothers, they're boring.” 

Leo laughs at that, pulling away from the hug with a dopey grin on his face. “I knew you cared.”

re: the post about the hunger games, i agree that the series isn't saying that secular humanism is wrong/destructive (since the capitol doesn't seem to be pursuing humanism at all, so idk how it'd be criticizing humanism specifically), but there are a few mentions of religion being erased/suppressed in the books (like katniss not knowing what angels are when she sees a painting of them, some references to any belief in an afterlife being viewed as "backward"), so some people may be interpreting that as a sign that the loss of religion is part of what made panem Dystopian. personally, i feel like that might be a reference to the (french) cult of reason or various countries that have enforced state atheism instead? or just an example of how the capitol wants to erase history and doesn't want anyone to have loyalty to anything but the state, both of which are pretty common motives for dystopian dictatorships, i feel like? but (especially since the author is catholic) apparently this sometimes gets interpreted in a christian allegory way. i'm not religious at all so i'm not defending that as the right interpretation or anything -- it makes more sense in my mind to say that the absence of religion is just one facet of this fictional society being cut off from a lot of cultural practices. like, this is a version of north america where (seemingly) no one has a name that comes from any non-european language (!!!), but it's also rare for people to know that rome ever existed. that stood out to me way more than the mentions of religion, but if you're analyzing it in a catholic way, idk. sorry for the long-windedness lol

Oh, yeah, if you read it as being a statement on "authoritarian suppression of religious freedom" then that makes a lot more sense. The absence of religion in Star Trek (as I have seen it described - I haven't engaged too much with the Trek shows myself) seems silly and perhaps even a little sinister, as I am not of the school of thought that believes that building a secular society means that individuals would all abandon their religious heritage, even if it became less prominent and more philosophical than dogmatic due to natural shifts in perspective. The Hunger Games being a more realistic portrayal of a society in which religion has been eradicated by state intervention, with said state being a dystopia, yeah, sure, that makes sense.

The silly thing that OP did however is equating the eradication of religion with secular humanism, and speaks to the specific bogeymen that they are imagining in their head. From my perspective, freedom of religious belief is pretty solidly a humanist value! And the "secular" part of "secular humanism" is an approach to building society, not a doctrine that must be evangelized to individuals. But I imagine if you're an "evangelical" (in the sense of, "true belief must be spread") Catholic it must be hard to wrap your head around that, lol.

I made myself cry when I finished AWoTT because I hate the last few chapters. They did a real disservice to the story because I rushed and tried to write something readers would like instead of what I'd done for most of it. On top of that, I ruined the Buttons/Jeanne d'arc ending because I worried that it would seem like I was ripping off the show. They were both supposed to turn into birds. I can't face trying to fix it. (If you haven't read the end, don't waste your time, and if you did and were disappointed we are on the same page.)

I'm sorry you're dissatisfied with how it turned out but if it's any consolation it felt like a fitting end to me! The first time I tried to read the final chapter I literally couldn't for all the tears in my eyes because I knew it was ending. I no longer have a neutral relationship with any of the songs you used for the section titles, especially "Don't Dream It's Over" because god if that didn't just get at the root of everything I felt about the fact that your fic existed. I miss your versions of Ed and Stede terribly and it's gonna be a tall order for anyone but David Jenkins to make them half so indelible to me. I felt like I was watching actual people I loved sail away forever.

I started reading it around when it was halfway through I think? It shouldn't have immediately worked for me when I first started. I was burning out a bit on reunion fics and I thought of myself as someone who didn't love when fics had too many OCs and those OCs got a lot of time in the story, not to mention my strict no-WIP rule, but whatever made me read it must have been fate or something. That and the reflectiveness of the characters and the times the prose knocked me off my feet and the usually gutting historical interstitials (I still think about/am haunted by the Chopin one at least once a week) and the lines I took screenshots of to send to my therapist. It's so much greater than the sum of its parts, and fiction like that can change things about a person's preconceived notions and personal tastes forever.

If I tried to list the things about it that are going to stay with me well, it would literally be easier for everyone if I just c/p the entire fic into this reply. It felt like such a journey that readers got to go on with both the characters and with the story on a like, metatextual level? It completely changed my relationship with high-quality WIPs. Now that I'm writing my first longfics I'm thinking about character and framing devices and POV voice in entirely new ways because I was fortunate enough to get the chance to read it. It's criminal that it's not in the top 5 most read fics in the fandom and I will not stop recommending it until that happens.

Even if you're not happy with the ending I think your readers are. This reader certainly is. And if you did want to go back and change it someday I have zero doubts that I'll be happy with that too. The fandom is richer for having your work in it.

Love In the Air Ep 9 Review & Running Commentary

We are now entering into the territory of Sky and Prapai. Be prepared people because there is going to be Sexual Assault triggers. I warned about this before but I think a few people really didn't understand. I'm also seeing a lot of people give backlash to MAME which is not cool. MAME does not do this for fun, it's actually therapeutic writing. I think that's one reason why I'm less triggered, I'm used to listening to and reading work by survivors. I'm more triggered when surprised by it, where I don't have a chance to brace myself. Luckily a lot of people have given me support with this.

Trigger warning: Flash Backs: Deep breath. Yeah, that's about the whole of it. He is flashing back to when someone else, once told him they loved him.

PTSD is what occurs in people who have lived through a specific traumatic event or series of events like war, a serious car accident, sexual assault or natural disaster. C-PTSD is the result of prolonged exposure to trauma over longer periods of time, often during childhood. From a PTSD or C-PTSD stand point there are two different types of flashbacks: typical flashback and/or an emotional flashback.  A typical flashback is a sudden re-experiencing of a traumatic event in an person’s life. It might feel like you’re visually seeing the upsetting event over and over in your head, but it’s more intense than just a memory because your senses are typically triggered as well. Sight, sound, touch, and smell. Though the person experiencing the flashback may be safe, they don't feel safe. They are relieving all the experiences attached to that moment. An emotional flashback is when someone who has survived complex trauma feels “taken over” by an emotional experience such as scared, abandoned, helpless, or unsafe. Rather than re-experiencing a specific traumatic event in a relatively short period of time, an emotional flashback, can be quick or last for hours or days, sometimes even weeks. Typically it's when a person experience both that a panic attack will set in because the fight or flight has been activated. Yet there is nothing to fight even though mentally the person is sure they should be.

I want to point out that someone who isn't familiar with these types of flashbacks, isn't going to know how to explain them. It would be like never having ate a food but trying to describe it. Yet MAME describes it perfectly in their books.

So what Sky just experienced would be an emotional flashback. Even though it was relatively quick, we can't be sure he is actually over it. If you recall how Sky acted after having sex with Prapai, that was typical emotional flashback and you saw how long he felt that. Can I say that I'm pretty proud of Prapai for noticing that Sky wasn't okay. He is making his way out of fuck boy status. He's learning Sky and really trying.

Look at Prapai just grabbing Sky's hand. Guys, the fact that Sky isn't already swinging says a lot towards how he views Prapai. He is thick all over so lets cuddle 🤣🤣🤣 OH, Oh, see that face. Sky really does enjoy Prapai's humor. Which leads me back to the previous joke and the likely hood that he understood it to be a joke. Fuck, I love the way Prapai kind of drags Sky along. I love the way he is softly speaking to Sky. Like he is dealing with a timid puppy even though he knows this puppy has teeth.

So, this time we are getting a typical flashback. Slight panic attack because it is a flashback dream but believe it or not this will actually help cushion the mind some. Which is why he isn't having a full-blown panic attack. By waking up, the body recognizes the need to not fight so it can begin the calm down process. Ok I'm sorry if this is too deep of a question for goofy ask hour but it's been something I've been genuinely wondering about for a while (somewhat RE: the answer you gave about the album poll a few asks ago)

I love both MOTH and HYMN but try to stay away from them because I have some problems with taking the inch of things I enjoy then running the mile of warping it into my own interpretation and I obviously really don't want to do that in this case because of how many raw emotions you put onto both albums. Art is art and whatnot but when I catch myself doing that with songs from MOTH and HYMN specifically I feel awful and gross about it

So, in the least loaded way possible, how do you feel about different interpretations of those albums? Obviously it will never be fully ok and I do love TIHWGB, but it can be tough to have an internal back and forth over that much of your discography and it'd be cool to have closure one way or another :)

I haven't heard an interpretation yet that's made me want to step in and go "no, that's wrong". my favourite pieces of fiction are the ones that understand that the real magic doesn't come from the author's ideas, or the author writing the words down, or even the reader reading them, but in the reader's imagination after all that has been done. the things that have stuck with me the longest have been questions the author hasn't answered, doors that weren't opened, secrets that weren't fully revealed.

JLPT N1 Experience

So first of all, Happy New Year. It has been a while since I've updated this blog. I've been feeling depressed in the past few weeks, I think it's because of drawing? I feel like I haven't been performing well in art, and that it's hard to accept painful truth that I cannot please everyone- not that it matters on this blog, but it's WHY I decide to take some time to write an update here.

I was supposed to talk about my first experience with N1 but I got busy after. I caught up in many stuff, I guess, plus I was busy with my birthday and helping my family's work throughout the month. But now that it's over, let's talk shall we?

Before That

I haven't talked about my last week strategy, here's what I did.

Stopped learning Kanji and do the drills instead

Finished Shinkanzen Grammar in the first section. I had some days left, so I skimmed through the second section without doing the exercise (I did for A - D i think but- I definitely shouldn't)

Borrowed these two books (pic below). For reading, I did every bit of every question style (there were like 6 of them right? Short passage, Long, etc.)

And for listening, I tried to rush through it but I kinda gave up with the chapter III or IV I'm not sure.

I switched between two of them on the last day

FYI the blue book is actually fantastic! I think I've said it before but it has explanation for each answers. I think it's super cool.

Now For N1

Chapter 1: Before exam

For context, I travelled to the exam location alone, so I wasn't bounded by anyone and I could roam anywhere. I got out early, and arrived there pretty early. But walking from the entrance to the exam spot took a while, to the point where I doubted to myself if I was going in the right direction. There were many people there already. I think the morning peeps had already entered the room when I arrived.

I had lunch and... wander around (Typical Pikmin Bloom player). There wasn't much to do anyway. I decided to take a quick review of some onomatopoeia and other vocabs. I think at that point, nothing is more important than vocabs. It was a while before they allowed us to go up the building. Anyway, I SAW A KID in a highschooler outfit in front of the same room as mine! IM- I DON'T KNOW?? HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO BE THIS GOOD AT THAT AGE?? And of course we entered the room. I sat not so far from the entrance.

One thing that bothers me is the fact that they never announced to bring a mask but they asked everyone to wear it in the room?? Luckily, I had it on already.

Chapter 2: The Exam

Sorry for the long introduction haha. SO, starting off with vocabs, grammars, and reading. I skipped to grammar secion first because it's not too hard or too easy. It's all fuzzy now but I did okay(?)

There was あっての that's pretty easy. But there was one of them that bugged me and I was wrong on that one too. It's といたしまして... so weird, I didn't expect it to answer that. ALSO, HONORIFIC VERB CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD but i think i answered it right.

Then onto reading section because I was really scared if I couldn't finished it. It- took me a while to finish each of them but in a fair amount of time. It's like 10 minutes left that I switched to doing vocabs with a lightning speed because I FORGOT there was a fill in the blanks and not just guessing kanji's reading.

I almost got 誇張 (こちょう) wrong as こうちょう

There were 奇跡、偏り、矛盾、賄う、���率 in which i had no problems

Filling the words is where I had problem due to hurriness. I missed the 快挙 cause I don't know the word.

見返り too, because there was a word that I thought it meant (repay) and not the first

I GOT ONOMATOPOEIA WRONG ANYwAY HECC YEA i didn't know what つくづく means so i went with きっかり or きっぱり im not sure

Also there was a sentence that was supposed to mean "His body condition was..." I thought it was "worsen" so I went with 崩れる except no it's the opposite "ほぐれる". I didn't know that word but i've seen it before it's the goodamn spirit's name from the game.

I didn't know what 尺度 means or how it is read but I got the meaning substitution right (yay) (it's standard)

Here's the fun one. デマ... THIS WORD THAT I NEED TO GUESS HOW IT IS USED WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING ITS MEANING. I tried to came up with the word this word could come from. Dermatologist? Demand? Theme??? (that's テーマ) I had no idea and got it wrong eventually. Can you guess?

It's "Demagogie", a German word meaning false rumor... WHO WOULD'VE GUESSED. I asked one of my Japanese if she knew. Of course she did. She even gave me an alternative for it too... but I forgot. I only know that's it in katakana (im sorry)

Last minute i left one Mondai randomly answered!

For Choukai, it was so goddamn fast. I am certain that if it wasn't fast, it would be manageable for me. I honestly don't know if I scored it well or not, the last listening part were as hard as ever. ONE THING ABT IT THOUGH, there was a part where they were talking in a cafe about how the shop owner use a coffee beans? I think?

ANd FOR GOD'S SAKE WHAT'S WITH THE BACKGROUND MUSIC??? My concentration was popped away, I kept glancing around wondering if what I was hearing was someone's phone or the tape's music. I don't even know what the question really was to be honest.

What's Next?

I- I don't know. I just need to wait for the result. But I'll try to slowly get back to learning a bit Korean and Japanese every day again. Probably need to brush up Memrise and Anki. I don't have new year's resolution but I guess.. continue ASL? I got busy that I have no time to do it anymore. I doubt if I can do it, considering I'll be busy with internship next academic year.

Hello! Sorry for popping in with this random message but I need to vent somewhere and it was always your place that I used to go to. It’s been long, maybe over three years, since I’ve ventured down the stucky-rabbit hole but I was just going on about my day as usual when my brain decided to remind me of the line “but I loved you first”.

Naturally, I had to sit down and stare into a wall for a bit, and once I got home I started rereading Not Easily Conquered. Now, when I was in the fandom I was an avid re-reader of my favorite fics, getting at least five or six reads before I was satisfied (sometimes a LOT more). I’d almost learn entire paragraphs through and through. With NEC, however, I simply couldn’t do more than one reading. It was too emotionally charged, for one, and I also didn’t want to “tarnish” what it made me feel the first time I read it.

But now it’s been such a long time. I think I read it almost seven years ago. And here I am, in the midst of rereading. As I write this, I’m currently bracing myself to start the part with all of the letters in chronological order. I’ve already cried multiple times so it’s not looking great for me.

I’m really happy to see you’re still here. Makes this feel less of a harrowing experience, honestly. And despite what all of this sounds like I actually enjoy reading the greatest love story of all time, of course. Not to be a SAP or anything but it feels like coming home. Anyway. Lots of love to you! :)

I personally also haven't reread NEC yet, for the same reasons you mention, but I did get it bound, so I am actually planning on rereading it one day! It just hasn't been the right moment yet for me, but I will wait patiently for it to arrive.

The reader will be the oldest Byers brother because (after a quick google search) I've learned that Jonathan is 18 and Eddie Munson is around 21. So if the reader was a year younger than Jonathan he'd be 17 and that's just going into illegal territory. (But I loved the idea, being a middle child myself.) So the reader is 20.

This doesn't really follow s4 at all, but the Byers just moved back from Cali and Will joined Hellfire!

Will opened the door to the Byers' residence, shutting it behind him and letting his backpack drop to the floor. Taking off his jacket he hung it by the door, walking into the kitchen where his brother's were hanging out.

Jonathan was going through a pile of photos he had taken at the table, holding some over to (Y/N) for him to see. (Y/N), on the other hand, was going through some work papers. He'd started a job as a mechanic when they had moved back to Hawkins. Back in California he'd gotten the job to help support their family, but he'd grown to love the work. (Especially the amount of time off all the employee's got.) He found a place in Hawkins and started working there.

"Hey kiddo, how was school?" (Y/N) asked as Will walked in, patting his back as he walked past the table.

"It was good! We have a D&D meeting tomorrow, too!" Will informed as he opened the fridge, looking for a snack.

"That's cool. Are you excited?" Jonathan asked quietly as he pulled out his camera, adjusting the settings a bit.

"Yeah. Lucas might not be able to make it and Eddie is making us scour around to find a replacement." Will laughed a bit as he sat down with a bowl of cereal.

"Oh, have you found anyone?" Jonathan asked as he held the camera up to his eyes, checking the settings.

"...(Y/N), you used to help me with D&D, didn't you?" Will asked, spoon hovering above the bowl and dripping with milk.

"Smile" Jonathan cut in before (Y/N) could respond.

Both brothers looked over at the camera and instantly put on smiles. Jonathan did this a lot, so they'd gotten used to it. It was sweet, seeing his walls lined with random family pictures.

"Yeah, I did," (Y/N) responded, flipping through some papers in his pile.

"Would you be willing to be the sub player?" Will asked eagerly, eyes lighting up as he leaned forward a bit.

"Me?" (Y/N) laughed a bit. "I haven't played in years."

"But you have a character, don't you?" Will continued to pester. He shoved the bite of cereal in his mouth, realizing the pieces would get soggy if he left them floating in the milk for too long.

"Yes, I do. He's really old, though, I haven't played with him in years."

"The... the elf one, right?" Jonathan asked, raising his eyebrow in question.

"Yeah, Huelen," (Y/N) responded, nodding. "How did you remember?" He looked up at Jonathan, hands stilling with the paper's in them.

"You used to draw him a lot in your old sketchbook. That's where you drew Will the Wise for Will, too," he explained, shrugging while rifling through his bag.

"It's what first got me drawing," Will remembered, eating more of his food.

Joyce entered the kitchen, holding some plates in her hands as she smiled at her sons.

"Hey, boys!" she greeted, putting the plates in the sink.

"Hey Mom," the boys all said in unison, smiling at their mom.

"Jonathan, please stop leaving dirty plates in your room, you'll attract pests," Joyce requested, coming over and rubbing (Y/N)'s shoulder as she skimmed the paper's in his hand.

"Sorry, Mom. I'll clean them up next time."

"So, will you, (Y/N)?" Will reminded them all of the topic at hand.

"Tomorrow?"

"Mhm!"

"...What time?"

Will smiled, knowing he had hooked (Y/N).

"After school. Can you make it?"

"Yeah, I have an early shift tomorrow. It'll be fun!" (Y/N) wiggled his eyebrows as he stood up, taking his papers and putting it in his work bag.

"Oh, are you going with Will to the D&D club tomorrow?" Joyce asked, sitting down next to Jonathan and looking through his pictures.

"Hellfire, Mom," Will reminded, slurping up his cereal.

"Yeah, Hellfire," Joyce redeemed.

"Apparently. The little punk roped me into it," (Y/N) teased, ruffling Will's hair as he sat back down.

"You should bring your old sketchbook! You have a lot of characters in there, I'm sure the other boys would love it. Would they, Will?" Joyce suggested, looking at Will to see if they would.

"Oh yeah, Dustin used to gush over them all the time. You should bring 'em." Will nodded.

"Alright, it's a plan. I've got to go run these back to the garage, I'll be back by dinner!" (Y/N) announced as he picked up his bag, kissing his mom on the cheek and waving to his brothers.

"It's lasagna!"

(Y/N) hummed in satisfaction at his mother's reply.

He was just relieved that Will found someone to take Sinclair's place, or else they would all be screwed. And because he was so relieved he neglected to ask who it was, not that it mattered. If they could play and had a character, he could work with it.

The boys all arrived in a large group, backpacks slung over their shoulders. A taller man followed behind Will, laughing at a joke one of the boys had made.

"Welcome to Hellfire!" Eddie dramatically exclaimed, gesturing widely to the table.

They laughed and took their usual seats, but the guest stayed standing. When Eddie made eye contact his eyes widened in shock.

"...Munson?" (Y/N) asked after a moment, surprise covering his own features.

"Wait, you two already know each other?" Will asked, glancing between his brother and Dungeon Master.

"Yeah, we used to go to school here together," (Y/N) responded, breaking eye contact to look at Will. "When you said 'Eddie', I didn't think you meant Eddie Munson."

"Well, I didn't know you knew him!" Will defended, shrugging.

"We do know each other, we used to play together back when we were beginners," Eddie finally spoke, walking forward and holding out a hand to (Y/N). "How's it going, Byers?"

(Y/N) took his hand, shaking it strongly, "Just fine. Still in highschool, I see," he teased.

"Ha-ha," Eddie deadpanned, quickly letting go and turning around theatrically. "Take your seat, peasant. I do hope you brought Huelen with you, he's the most important thing."

Rolling his eyes (Y/N) sat next to Will, "I'm surprised you remember his name."

"Well, who could forget a name like that?" Eddie asked rhetorically. He sat in his chair and made eye contact with (Y/N) over his DM's screen, his eyes sparkling with amusement. In this moment Eddie cherished his hair for hiding the tips of his ears, which were turning red. "Let's get started, shall we?"

The table broke out into a roar of excitement, making (Y/N) snicker and pull out his old folder.

(Y/N) was laughing so hard tears rolled down his cheeks, his hand shaking as he tried to reach out for the dice on the table.

Dustin, who was cackling across from him doubled over more as he failed to pick up the dice yet again.

Everyone was having loads of fun, something (Y/N) hadn't really had in a while.

(Y/N) finally took the dice and made his roll.

"Unfortunately, Elf Huelen, that roll wasn't high enough. The effects of it, I'm afraid, I won't be able to share until next session," Eddie announced, standing up as everyone groaned, outraged.

"But I won't be here next session," (Y/N) reminded, looking up at Eddie with a questioning look.

"Says who?" Eddie smugly shot back, starting to clean up his things.

(Y/N) scoffed and shook his head, looking to the other players who were all looking at him expectantly. "Wait- you want me back?"

"Yes!" they all shouted as if it was the dumbest question anyone had ever asked.

"It's not like we can't add another playing space," Eddie said. He and (Y/N) shared a look, knowing he wasn't the first one to speak that sentence.

About three years ago, during (Y/N)'s Junior year at Hawkins High, he sat in a room with some classmates. The D&D board was set up around them and he eagerly listened as the more experienced members explained the game to him. A knock came from the door, and Eddie (who was in his first round of Senior year) looked into the room.

"Hey, this is where the D&D club is, right?" he asked confidently, though (Y/N) noticed his hands were shaking.

"Yeah," one of the other's responded.

"Can I join?"

"There are too many players-"

"It's not like we can't add another playing space," (Y/N) had responded to them. He had learned enough that session to know that "more the merrier" was very true in this game.

Eddie had given him a thankful smile and taken a seat next to him.

"Is it the same time every week?" (Y/N) asked, knowing it was a day he had off annualy.

At the nods of conformation he shrugged.

"Fuck it, I'm in."

They cheered and stood up, collecting their players and helping Eddie put away the pieces.

"Hey, you brought your old sketchbook, didn't you?" Will reminded, catching everyone's attention.

"Oh, yeah. I have some old character drawings in here from when I used to play," (Y/N) explained as he pulled out the clearly loved book. He flipped to a good page and showed the younger kids.

"I remember you showing us these!" Dustin exclaimed, even Mike getting pumped over the drawings.

Eddie leaned over their shoulders, looking at the drawings.

"Those are fantastic, Byers. Why haven't I seen these before?" Eddie asked, looking up at (Y/N) for an explanation.

"Hey, we got to go, see you guys next time!" Gareth said as he waved and the boys left.

"I'll meet you in the car," Will said, jogging off with his friends. He knew (Y/N) wanted some time to catch up with Eddie.

"Well, you never asked," (Y/N) shrugged after nodding to Will.

Eddie sat down in his throne as (Y/N) leaned back against the table next to him.

"These are great!"

Eddie was so immersed in the drawings that he forgot to ask before flipping through the pages.

"Wait-!" (Y/N) exclaimed, but he was too late. The next few pages were filled with Eddie's face. The way his hair fell, the look on his face when he was concentrating on the current battle. His eyes were sharp in every one of them, and Eddie sucked in a breath. He'd never been depicted this way, and he loved it.

"Is this..."

"I'm sorry- I didn't-" (Y/N) started fumbling, ripping the book from his hands and stuffing it in his bag, not looking at Eddie.

"Don't be- it's... I felt it too," he mumbled back. That simple phrase communicated to (Y/N) that he wasn't the only one who looked at his favorite D&D buddy like he was his whole world.

(Y/N)'s face heated as his mouth parted slightly, eyes wide as he sucked in a breath.

Gulping down his nerves, (Y/N) smiled awkwardly. "Will's waiting for me. I should get going."

Eddie nodded and stood up, looking at (Y/N) like he wanted to say something.

"I... would you draw some of the characters from today? The party really needs more visual aid."

They both knew that wasn't really what he wanted to say, but (Y/N) nodded nonetheless.

"Yeah! Of course. Will and I can both work on it, he draws almost better than I do," he laughed a little too hard. (Y/N)'s heart was beating so fast he could barely concentrate on breathing.

"See you next session."

"See you."

(Y/N) sped out of the room, shaking his head and scolding himself. He couldn't believe that Eddie had seen the sketches of him. And his response? Ugh. (Y/N) dismissed the thoughts aggressively in his head and walked to his car, opening the door and climbing in.

"Woah, are you okay? Your face is really red," Will immediately asked, alarmed at his brother's shading.

"Yeah, I'm fine," (Y/N) quickly responded, shaking his head and starting his car. He pulled back and maneuvered out of the parking lot.

Will stared at him for a second longer before smirking. "So you know Eddie?"

(Y/N) bit his lip for a moment.

"He asked us to draw some of the characters for the campaign. You in?" he glanced over at Will before returning his eyes to the road.

"Uh, duh. But you didn't answer my question." He wasn't going to let (Y/N) off the hook, and they both knew it.

"We... uhm- used to play D&D together, with the old group. My last two years of highschool, actually," (Y/N) explained hesitantly. "I-" he cleared his throat- "had a huge crush on him. I drew him a lot and he just found the sketches."

"Had?" Will repeated.

"That's enough from you," (Y/N) scolded, glaring teasingly at Will.

fair warning this is really silly, so it's okay if you laugh- i binge read the settle our bones series, absolutely adored it, like truly, and have since re-read it...a lot. and since my first read through i wanted to comment, but i also yk, wanted to keep reading so the plan was to just comment after i read it all.

BUT THEN!! i just had so many thoughts. (like gushy, omg i love this thoughts). too many thoughts. so i needed time to like process and be coherent and be capable of leaving a comment worth reading. but now so much time has passed (in my mind) and i want to re-read it all again, but i feel like a thief because i can't leave kudos again and i want to comment but i feel guilty because i haven't and- it's illogical. it's silly. i'm pretty sure ik the answer to the question anyways.
