How’s Fields of Mistria? You mentioning it was the second time I heard of it, the first time being in passing, so I’m not too knowledgeable about the game.

Fields of Mistria is SUPER fun, since there's not much to do in it after you've completed the first year right now, I've dedicated myself to breeding and collecting all the seasonal variants of horses so I can name them after the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse!

I also named all my barns after metamorphised lovers in greek myth because I have exactly one thought running through my head at any given point in time (Currently there's Crocus Coop where I keep my (gorgeous wonderful lovely adorable ouugh I LOVE THEMMM!!) blue chickens

Cypress Barn where I keep my wonderful cows (who have been with me the longest and whom I cherish immensely! I'm not sure if Autumn cows are possible but I'm definitely aiming for a barn of all red and autumnal cows for obvious reasons)

Minthe Barn where I keep all of my other large animals like sheep, alpacas and my very first beloved Chiron (black and white) and Iris (brown with spots) (the foal is Rigel) 🥺

And Hyacinthus Barn where I have a collection of small animals like rabbits, capybaras and my PRIZED DUCKS LEDA (the pretty blue and green duckie) AND CYCNUS (the pure white duck meant to mimic a swan!!) Even though it's technically a coop, I mistakenly labelled it a barn when I was inputting the name and I never changed it LOL

My farm is also named after THE metamorphosized lover, Daphne herself, so it's called Laurel Farm

And I'm planning for my Seasonal Horse barn to be named after the poplar since I quite like Leuke's story and I think she's fitting of housing the horses that will be the steeds of War, Pestilence, Conquest and Famine :)

Bonus: My house is still small and eclectically decorated, but keeping in theme with my farm, I do hope to go for a flower/garden theme

hi! so, yesterday I randomly opened the doc with the buddie death cast au - which is a fic I started writing last summer on vacation and never got back to it but then made progress lol it's gonna be MCD, which i know is not everyone's thing so feel free to ignore this 🤣 it's basically buddie in the universe of the "they both die at the end"/"the first to die at the end" books so it's gonna be sad, sorry lol (I never even read mcd, idk why i'm writing this but this idea just wants to be written i guess haha) gotta put this weird mood I've been in lately to good use and finally write this 🤣 not sure if I'm happy with this snippet, but it all needs editing, the first two snippets were written on my phone and haven't been edited yet lol

“Is all of this clear, Eddie?” she asks in the end.

“Yeah, sure, whatever.” he says shortly. He should've just hung up immediately. Or cancel this stupid subscription after Shannon died. Sometimes he wonders if maybe people who get the calls and coincidentally get into accidents, for example, just give up and refuse to fight because they think it’s their time. Not like Shannon could do much, her injuries were too severe when they got there, but the point stands. Maybe they get more reckless, thinking it doesn’t matter anyway. 

There’s a short pause on the line, but then Jane speaks up again, her tone softer, more sympathy seeping through.

“I know it’s not easy to accept, if you’d like some help with that, on out website you can find therapists and grief counselors specializing in-”

“Listen.” Eddie interrupts. He’s spent enough time in therapy. He’s not doing it on his supposedly last day. “I know it’s all bullshit. I don’t care. You said what you had to say, I listened, for whatever reason.” he rolls his eyes. He really should’ve hung up, or not answered at all. “Is this conversation over yet?” he asks and is met with another moment of silence. She’s probably wondering what everyone else always is: why is he even spending money on this if he doesn’t believe. He has an answer ready to go, but that’s not what she asks.

“Can I ask you a question?” she says quieter, whispering, probably not allowed to go too much off-script. 

“Sure, why not.” he shrugs. He’s wide awake now, anyway, he’s not in a hurry. Not like he’s dying anytime soon.

“If it was your last day, how would you spend it? You don’t have to answer, just think about it.” she adds quickly, her tone much softer and gentler now. Eddie’s mind immediately supplies a picture of Christopher and Buck, just a casual hang-out, like usual, maybe going to the movies, or the aquarium, or the planetarium, something fun for his kid. And later a gathering with the rest of their family, maybe a barbecue at Bobby and Athena’s, with Maddie and Chim, and Hen and Karen, all their kids, just everyone having fun together. Yeah, that’d be a perfect day. “There’s no harm in spending today just like this, if possible. Just in case.” Jane adds, still whispering. He doesn’t tell her that’s more or less his plan, anyway, for the evening after his 12-hour shift. During which nothing will happen to him, because Death-Cast doesn’t know shit. “Well, lastly, Eddie,” Jane’s voice is back at normal-volume, tone strictly professional but sympathetic, as she recites the end of her script, “on behalf of everyone here at Death-Cast, we’re so sorry to lose you. Live this day to the fullest.”

Eddie hangs up without a word.

still playing persona 3 for the first time (im playing reload). im on nov 9 and i wanna make some predictions !! so under the cut is me speculating on some shit thats going on so far :D i don't expect to be right about it all but i just wanna be able to come back to this post and see if i was right about some of it or if i was totally wrong lol (also, this has spoilers for some major stuff leading up to november !!)

ok, so im on nov 9 and just met a new character named ryoji. now, ryoji looks suspiciously like pharos (the little boy who we met during the dark hour before each boss basically).

like, they have the same mole, eyes, eyebrows and same VA. i think its kinda obvious that they're the same person, especially when ryoji is saying shit like this:

but that isn't what i wanted to make this post about. im thinking that because pharos' social link was the death tarot, maybe him becoming ryoji is what ikutski was trying to do. idk how to explain it that well but hear me out lol. i think that ryoji is what's going to bring about "the fall." i think that defeating the 12 shadows (and maybe also the "sacrifice" of ikutski and mitsuru's father) is what transformed pharos into ryoji. everytime we see pharos, hes wearing an outfit that looks like something a prisoner would wear. maybe the existence of the 12 shadows was making it so he couldn't use his full powers or some shit, akin to being imprisoned and them being defeated unleashed him. the last time we see him, he says he remembers what he has to do and that he has a duty to fulfill. not chained back by the shadows anymore, he was able to become ryoji and possibly try to bring about the fall? im not sure if im getting this right lol but thats what im thinking. and i think that while she might not fully remember it, aigis might have some kind of knowledge about this bc of how she reacts to ryoji when he first joins the class:

she knows something about him but i don't think she fully remembers what it is. an interesting thing i saw in the dictionary tab is this:

"it's birth was already intended to happen once, ten years ago." aigis was made 10 years ago and also maybe im reaching for this but pharos looks to be around 10 years old or so when we meet him. he is the death tarot, and this dictionary thing is under the term "death." aigis being made around that time could be why she thinks that ryoji is dangerous, maybe she sees the resemblance between pharos and ryoji? idk if im right or if im grasping at straws but i just had to rant about what im thinking so far !! im really excited to see where this all leads. (pls if anyone actually is reading this shitty post, no spoilers 🙏🙏)

Okay so, my tip for ocṭopath is that, if you're able to afford both, get both, if you can only get one of them, and you've got the money for it, get the second one, unless the characters of the first one appeal to you more.

OT1 isn't a bad game, but OT2 is objectively better in every way imo, and you don't really need to know anything about the first one to play it. If you plan on playing both of them either way, maybe start with OT1 bc it'll feel a lot clunkier if you do it the other way around, since OT2 has a lot of QOL improvements that OT1 doesn't have (like the 3x battlespeed, more varied animations and chapters and fully voiced cutscenes, for example). The characters in both are fun though. OT1 follows the archetypes of the main cast more closely, while OT2 usually tries to subvert them a little more, they're all very charming in their own way!

Anyway sorry for the long ask, but yeah I personally like octọpath a lot, and highly recommend checking it out! If you've got any doubts about whether or not you'd like it, both OT1 AND OT2 have demos you can play first! It's pretty neat

forgot to liveblog the movie whoops sorry I was drawing so my hands were occupied-

Undiscovered Country is definitely one of the strongest of the Star Trek movies! I would put it on level with Wrath of Khan. finally, a strong movie for the Klingons. I wasn't a fan of the Klingon villains in Search for Spock and found them quite weak and they didnt wow me in Final Frontier either, so it was nice to see them get a proper chance to shine here. wish the pink blood had stayed around as canon, that was a fun touch, even if the cgi for that has aged. incredibly badly

this felt like a good and proper sendoff to the TOS crew. while part of me wishes Sulu had been actually with the crew, I love that he's a captain, so I really cant complain. I like how final this movie feels for TOS as well, it uh. makes me want to pretend Generations doesnt exist. anyways-

its been a great ride watching all of this! the TOS rewatch was delightful, as I knew it would be. but I loved getting to see TAS, and finally watching these movies has been awesome. its been a treat to go back to the franchise's roots after watching so much of the later content. while I can see why TOS, TAS, and even the movies wouldnt be for everybody, I genuinely have to highly recommend people with an interest in Star Trek go through it all. if nothing else, its great fun to just shut your brain off and enjoy some goofy effects and cheesy acting

i literally cant make a post about this without sounding unbearably bitchy but i am frustrated by how often self-described writers (especially ones i see here on tumblr) describe the process of writing as completely passive--"you dont write the story, the story writes YOU!" "im not in charge here, the characters are in the drivers seat XD"

when as another self-described writer (on tumblr) the most interesting and satisfying part of writing to me is making deliberate choices about how a scene proceeds, what a character is like, how to describe something, every part of the piece. none of it is passive for me. even though i follow people who reblog posts about writing and even though i care a lot about writing and do it often, i rarely see posts i want to reblog about writing because i struggle to relate to any of them.

the part where i get unbearably bitchy about it is the fact that (trying with all my might to restrain the snarling biting evil dog in my brain that wants to kill) the writing produced by people who talk this way is. not to my taste. and frequently. in my opinion. not very good. and i dont think that that is a coincidence. nor do i think it's a coincidence that writers on tumblr seem to. have trouble. finishing projects. but. yknow. different strokes. and all that. just because their approach is different doesnt mean its wrong. (the dog in my brain is gnawing its own leg off)

Bloodborne DND time babey!

Today’s topic: Classes

Haha jk. But seriously I spent an ungodly amount of time trying to figure out a way to make classes for bloodborne dnd, and in the end I decided against it, way too complicated. There is not really enough distinction between the different types of hunters or characters you can find/make in Bloodborne. So you get one class: Hunter. I have some ideas for the future about having special features you can gain from choosing one of the group based runes (I forget what they are called in Bloodborne), but I’m not sure if players should just be able to choose one once they reach a certain level or if they will have to find the runes first. My gut tells me they should have to find them first bc that’s the Bloodborne style, but I also know that that doesn’t really mesh well with how DND works so I haven’t decided yet.

Right now the plan I have for what players get when they level up is sort of like an assortment of skill trees that they get the opportunity to level in that give them abilities and bonuses. I’ll post some of the work I’ve done on that at some point, I’m pretty proud of it! Next post will probably be about how I changed the combat system to better fit bloodborne combat style, so stay tuned!
