skye riley headcanons!
pairing: skye riley x reader
genre: fluff & comfort
warnings: slight issues with food, trichotillomania
wc: 663
a/n: there is a SEVERE. lack of skye riley content on here.. i am here to save the day /hj i enjoyed writing this and it brought me a lot of comfort to my very messy mind... if anyone wants me to write more pls send a request that would be lovely
she has eczema, so her diet is very limited. mostly consisting of fresh and whole foods like fruits and veggies to make sure it doesn't flare up.
but she loves to cook all kinds of things for you, even if she is too lazy to cook for herself sometimes. it's like a give-and-take kind of thing.
you want pancakes for breakfast? she's up early prepping ingredients to cook for you. by the time you wake up, you get a waft of your favorite fresh pancakes made by yours truly. topped with strawberries, bananas (both her favorite), and whatever other toppings she knows you love.
skye will skip meals for two reasons: one, she's too lazy or tired to make a meal for herself. and two, her mind beats her up and makes her think she needs to lose more weight. (which she doesn't, poor baby. so you make sure to check on her and her eating habits)
since she's basically a rabbit, her food is easy to meal prep.
you prep her food like you're a mother sending her toddler off to preschool. you place her salads in cute lunchboxes with little containers holding different dressings for her to enjoy with a motivational note.
whenever she unpacks her food and sees the little piece of paper with your handwriting saying: take care of yourself! <3 or i love you :) , a part of her heals.
oh, and you obviously can't forget her carrot and celery sticks with hummus. she'd rather stay home than forget to bring those to rehearsal.
no matter how dominant she may act, she's still the little spoon in bed.
nothing comforts her more than your warmth on her back, your leg over her hip, your arm around her waist, and your breath on her neck.
she LOVES it.
she holds the hand that is wrapped around her waist and caresses it so it stays there
she keeps a pillow in front of her to hug so she's completely sandwiched on the bed
you feel she thinks it makes her feel safe, and you find it so adorable
speaking of sleeping, she'll also knock out within 5 minutes of you scratching her head.
it happened before on the set of one of her music videos. she was on her break and laid her head down on your lap. you didn't notice how her eyes started to flutter shut when you kept on running your fingers through her hair.
when you finished your conversation with one of the staff, you looked down and realized she had dozed off with her phone still in her hands.
elizabeth came over to look for her and realized the person lying on your lap was her daughter and the exact person she was looking for
"y/n! god, have you seen- oh, i've never seen her sleep so soundly ever since she was a kid... i'll be back."
you know about her really bad trichotillomania where she'll start to unconsciously twirl and pull her hair
so whenever you see her reach for her scalp, you're giving her a scolding look that says, "i dare you to even touch your hair skylar rose riley."
her hands immediately shoot back down to her sides and she looks like a dog that has just been scolded
she thanks you for it, though, since it only reminds her of her lowest points in life
so, you decide to get her a fidget toy instead.
"skye, have you ever heard of slime?"
"what?"
after a long conversation addressing her tic, she ultimately agrees to settle on a needoh nice cube
at first, she found it a bit embarrassing to bring it around. but then after a while, she couldn't bear to leave without it. it's a safe way for her to relieve her stress, and plus it reminds her of you.
you took a polaroid of her smiling, getting her makeup done, with the cube in her hands. you keep it in your wallet. ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡

I'm kinda sad, guys. Completely off-topic super-long rant incoming, feel free/encouraged to disregard.
So basically, I managed to get in on a paid month-long trial of an eczema face cream in exchange for feedback. Honestly didn't even care about being paid, I was just in desperation for my face to not feel all scaley and shit anymore (seborrheic dermatitis is a fcking bitch, and it's even worse in a humid climate and GUESS WHAT THE CLIMATE IS LIKE HERE FOR MOST OF THE YEAR HAHAHA) and have been willing to try literally anything for some time.
Well, anything except steroid creams. I refuse. I did it once, it made it worse, never ever again. And I stfg that's ALL that dermatologists want to hand out for this type of eczema, despite glaring evidence that even if it works temporarily, it creates even worse problems down the line.
Sebhorric dermatitis presents with similar symptoms to psoriasis, and tends to present its symptoms around the face, neck, ears, and scalp. Liken it to really terrible dandruff that can cover your entire face. Scrubbing it off just leaves redness and itchy/painful open wounds. It's impossible to cover with make-up. It's at its worst in the humid summer months. I have to consistently use more than five products twice a day in the spring/summer/fall just to keep it under control enough to not be noticeable to anyone but me. And I'm already really bad at being consistent when it comes to self-care.
Enter this stupid fucking trial cream. This shit with its lack of labeling and mysterious code.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c09708437a40ecf7381486ac5ee9cee5/117d319e60842a52-74/s540x810/e4a9e8cb80f8e636c9dd359bf5d778673bcb8a03.jpg)
I had to agree to stop using all other products except my regular facial cleanser to make sure my feedback was accurate to this one product, okay. No other lotions or toners or face masks or anything. Use this stuff twice a day to once every other day, give weekly feedback for the duration of a month. ALL I know about it, is it isn't steroid based. I was in the middle of a very bad breakout when it arrived in the mail. I had scales of dry skin on my fucking eyelids. It literally hurt to blink. It was awful.
I'm almost two weeks in and my skin has not felt or looked this amazing since before I hit fucking puberty. I noticed a difference literally the first time I put the shit on. The dry flakes essentially just melted off and didn't come back. I actually cried a little out of pure shock and happiness.
I'm almost halfway through the month and absolutely no sign of any negative side effects. No acne, no oiliness, no rashes, no dryness, no inflammation, nothing. It doesn't have any weird smell or leave any weird residue, absorbs in less than a minute. Just...genuinely clear skin with no issues at all for the first time since I was a literal child. I've still got a little redness around my cheeks, chin, and nose (which I've had since the eczema first started to flare up in my late teens), but even that's beginning to fade.
Aaaaaand since it's a trial, I don't know the product name. Which means once it's gone, it's gone.
I'm hoping taking part in the trial means I'll have the opportunity to find out about it and purchase it in the future, but I have this horrible sinking feeling it's going to be far beyond my price range. You know, test it out on the normies to make sure it works, then slap an astronomical price tag on it to market it to the rich and influential. I just know that's where this is going and I hate it.
It is nice having good skin for the first time since I was like...twelve. And even nicer only having to use a tiny bit of this one single face cream once every other day, and not having to worry about my skin screaming in protest if I happen to forget/skip a day or two (which I have done, again I suck at consistent self-care).
But the knowledge that it's probably only going to last for as long as this tiny little magical unlabeled bottle lasts...makes me so so very sad.

🌹Ice's Lazy Loc Wash Routine🌹
I wanna preface this with two very important things:
I do not retwist my own locs! It would take far longer if I did. I have the tools and the means, and I know how to do it. I just hate doing it 🤣. It takes patience and arm strength and I lack the will. When I have the money I just schedule a retwist. Usually about every three months (which is longer than usual)
This is the way EYE do it! This is one experience out of countless, so don't assume my way is THEE way. There are people that will probably scream at me through the screen. But alas... It is "lazy" Loc wash day for a reason. And I do still care for my hair, and it's healthy and thriving for seven years (as of this Wednesday) 👍🏾
Okay? Okay.
Washing
The misconception about locs is that they are dirty. They're no "dirtier" than any other type of hair, nor do they require dirt to lock. That's a lie, and a racist one at that.
That being said, locs will end up holding the weight of life lol. Skin, sweat, dust, pollen, smells (and for me, bc I have dermatitis, scabs); all those things will end up weighing your locs down. Some people will do an Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda wash to detox their locs.
However, I use this!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/bcb2c7eb32fbce004ec6c91fd6dd30ac/357bdf83e728718a-73/s540x810/758bd6248fddb0f08581ae78e00283e0ea8401b4.jpg)
Essentially it's water, apple cider vinegar, orange peel, and some essential oils in a spray bottle, so I can spray it directly on my scalp and locs and massage it in deeply. Let it sit for a bit. Because I only wash my hair every 2 weeks or so, it's fine, but I wouldn't do this if I was washing it more frequently as it could mess up my scalp pH. Again, I have painful dermatitis, so it helps me get closer to my problem spots. Does it burn? Yes. It's working 👍🏾
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/8b2bbb3e2b92f3be98847db3b458c173/357bdf83e728718a-ad/s540x810/b5f9398415978d8cbe6f27de544a2c9aa5daec62.jpg)
Then I use this soap bar, which has things like coconut oil, aloe vera, eucalyptus, tea tree, almond, lemongrass, and more in it to scrub my scalp. You're supposed to rub it into your hands and scrub it in, so naturally I put the bar directly on my scalp. Be better than me. Smells AMAZING though and leaves my scalp clearer than it has ever been.
Medicated Shampoo
I use a medicated shampoo last. While that sits, I bathe 👍🏾 Bathe well, too 👍🏾 Please make sure your characters are bathing when they wash their hair 👍🏾
Once I'm done, I gently pull my locs apart (they WILL start tangling at the root IMMEDIATELY), then I wrap my hair in a beach towel. You're supposed to use t shirts because they're softer on curls, but I don't like water dripping on me while I get dressed. I put on easy to wear clothing. Tits loose clothing. I gotta be comfortable.
Medication
So if you know me, this is something I complain about ALL THE TIME. And it's how dermatology does NOT cater to Black patients! Even my shampoo says "for 30 days, wash every night". I'm Black with locs. My shampoos last for months bc that is impossible without me sacrificing my entire night, every night. Even if I had an Afro, we're still not supposed to wash our hair every night for fear of stripping the natural oils.
So I have to DEMAND I be given a medicated liquid solution. No petroleum based products!! A solution is the easiest way to reach my scalp. Does it burn? Yes. It's working. 👍🏾
So if your character has a skin issue (dermatitis, psoriasis, exzema excema eczema) on the scalp... Solutions are the easy way to go.
Moisturizing
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6012726a6b5379dbfd3d96f988187614/357bdf83e728718a-32/s540x810/55067c5c35a8f6484ca0bbc9a3be794ce3766ed8.jpg)
I promise this isn't free ads lmao, I just happen to be experimenting with this company and I like what I've seen so far. This is a real lite oil spray with rose water and essential oils, and it cools my scalp.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/1c764c5072f694b30dd944e7cfe3e800/357bdf83e728718a-64/s540x810/c242c15d610d56ced2c2000c9e3ca63293f68edc.jpg)
Aloe Vera, the goddess of healing. Also cools my scalp and addresses those burning, pink spots from my dermatitis.
Drying
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/5a9a152a6a692b55eeae66367db981a8/357bdf83e728718a-9b/s540x810/d3d0451f395fa3a271996d4617677bf7f3c805a8.jpg)
Drying depends on the length and thickness of your locs, and the temperature. Mine are shoulder length, pencil thick. Today I dried at real high heat (unintentionally) and it only took about an hour. At a lesser, safer heat, about two. This hair dryer bag is LIFE fr.
Conclusion
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/54bc3e204aa8e00036bba2ca40d3093a/357bdf83e728718a-77/s540x810/a2b11cff641b327aabb3e80a4fc170c29b556b2c.jpg)
If I don't have anywhere else to go (and I don't, bc I plan my loc wash days like this) I spray my scalp with oil one more time, put on my loc sock, and then I'm done 👍🏾
Total time today: about two hours. Normally 3 at a lower dry temp. Not bad at all.

Why I hate how dandruff is presented
You've all seen the jokes- old man with dandruff, shaking his head and a cloud of snow falls down, dandruff just being there for a laugh... It's never treated as anything serious, ever. It's just a joke! And just a joke about old men at that.
I'm 17 years old. I've had dandruff since I was at least 11. I've been made fun of all that time for the white flakes that are a constant on my head.
I just saw dandruff as a joke, too.
At most, it was just my scalp being a bit dry, so it needed a moisturising shampoo.
Yeah.... Turns out I have scalp psoriasis. I'm in near constant pain, which gets worse whenever I'm ill or stressed, because psoriasis is an autoimmune disease. My immune system is attacking my own skin. It's gotten to the point where shampoo doesn't help. I'm just in pain, always. I'll have a doctor's appointment where we can discuss options soon hopefully.
It's painful enough that I end up with scabbing all over my scalp from scratching. I pull my hands away and my nails are bloody from repeatedly picking and itching the scabs.
So no, not just a funny joke.
When I mentioned how painful it was to my friend, (only referring to it as dandruff rather than psoriasis) he said "I didn't realise dandruff could be painful!". In fact, several conditions that can cause dandruff have the fact that they're itchy or sore in their their symptoms list- eczema, dermatitis, and of course psoriasis.
And yet people just see dandruff as a joke. Even now, I feel anxious writing this- I feel like someone's gonna read this and think 'why are they getting so serious about dandruff? Lighten up!'
Sure, for some people it's not painful. Just flaky. But even then, they can experience the same social issues I did- I still remember a pair of kids seeing my large white skin flakes on my dark hair and exclaiming that I had nits (lice for Americans), and running away shouting at me. I hate that it's treated as a joke, or stigmatised, and seen as just an old man thing.
It's an actually serious issue for so many people. Why isn't it treated as such?
#I could actually go on a whole rant about stigmatisation of skin conditions in general#but that's a rant for another day#chronic pain#pain#psoriasis#scalp psoriasis#skin condition#skin conditions#autoimmine disease#autoimmune disorder#dandruff

Talk about eczema below, not really for a reason, mostly just because I don't see much about it.
I've had eczema pretty much my whole life, it developed when I was 6 months old. It was on the inside of my elbows and knees for years, especially when I was young. I've actually grown out of that but for several years the entire area was pale white from all the years of scratching and breaking skin, especially when I was little. Somehow that's like, faded a bunch? In the last few years. I would get questioned about it all the time a few years ago (a lot of people thought I had vitiligo which was strange to me though also understandable) and now it's not noticeable besides the texture. There's a lot of white specks from the stabbing and the edges is kinda rough but it doesn't typically get eczema anymore.
On the other hand, it has certainly spread to arguably worse places.
I now instead of perioral dermatitis, which eczema on the face which is both much more noticeable and also feels a lot worse, for me anyway after several years of not really having it. For me it's the worst around my mouth and on my lips. It's always been there for the past... threeish years now? At first I thought I was having some allergic reaction to my chapstick suddenly, since that can happen, but it kept getting worse even after I stopped. It was really painful and dry and red and I was very very uncomfortable for several weeks. It started scabbing and oozing and was overall incredibly unpleasant.
I started using carmex which was absolutely a bad idea, it helped to be more moisturized and less painful but that was also when it began scabbing and peeling and like, getting infected. I don't have any pictures from them anymore but it was, bad. At some point I started using vaseline which was much better. I'm not sure exactly why it works, I assume it makes some kind of protective barrier without having any chemicals or substances getting into all the tiny little cuts and openings.
For the last year or so it's only been bad during the summer and winter, because of it being either very dry or humid and hot, though it hasn't been nearly as bad as it was before. I can put literally nothing around my mouth or eyes which can be really frustrating. I can't use lipstick or any kind of chapstick, just vaseline which I don't love the way it looks, very shiny and wet looking. I technically shouldn't use makeup around my eyes either, but for me I've noticed it's okay as long as I only do it like, 3 times a week nonconsecutively. Sunscreen and bug spray is annoying, when I do get stuff on it makes it a lot worse for a few days which is very frustrating.
I also have psoriasis on my scalp, which has gotten really disgusting in the past and poses issues if I want to bleach or dye my hair. But in the last few years I've gotten much more knowledgeable in how to properly care for my hair and scalp so it's not been too much of an issue.
Anyway this was kind of a long post with not too much of a point, I just wanted to talk about my experience with skin conditions because I don't see a lot of representation for it outside of vitiligo, not that those people have much rep either. Hope you enjoyed my little ramble

When should I see a skin specialist?
You should consider seeing a skin specialist, also known as a dermatologist, in the following situations:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/31c22811cbd6873434fe9e6493cf290c/18774359a1aa8024-bd/s400x600/6688eb2c837d79058eef5b317b5fe5c4748cee3a.jpg)
1. Persistent Skin Issues: If you have a skin problem that hasn't improved with over-the-counter treatments or has persisted for an extended period, it's a good time to see a dermatologist. This includes issues like acne, rashes, eczema, and psoriasis.
2. Suspicious Moles or Growth: If you notice any changes in the size, shape, color, or texture of a mole, or if you have a mole that looks different from others, it's important to get it checked by a dermatologist. Suspicious moles could be a sign of skin cancer.
3. Skin Cancer Screening: Regular skin cancer screenings are recommended, especially if you have a history of sun exposure, a family history of skin cancer, or if you've had skin cancer before.
4.Hair and Scalp Issues: If you're experiencing significant hair loss, thinning, or changes in your hair's texture, a dermatologist can diagnose the cause and recommend appropriate treatments.
5. Nail Problems: If you have persistent issues with your nails such as discoloration, thickening, or changes in shape, a dermatologist can help determine the cause and provide treatment.
6. Chronic Skin Conditions: Chronic conditions like rosacea, psoriasis, or eczema may require ongoing management and monitoring by a dermatologist.
7. Skin Infections: If you have a skin infection that isn't responding to over-the-counter treatments or is spreading, it's time to see a dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment.
8. Cosmetic Concerns: If you're interested in cosmetic treatments such as Botox, dermal fillers, or laser procedures to improve the appearance of your skin, a dermatologist can provide guidance and perform these procedures safely.
9. Preventive Care: Regular visits to a dermatologist can also help with preventive care. They can provide guidance on how to protect your skin from sun damage, identify early signs of skin issues, and recommend skincare routines.
10. Unexplained Itching or Discomfort: If you're experiencing persistent itching, discomfort, or pain on your skin, it's worth consulting a dermatologist to determine the underlying cause.
11. Skin Allergies or Sensitivities: If you're unsure about what's causing an allergic reaction on your skin or if you're having unexplained skin sensitivities, a dermatologist can help identify triggers and provide solutions.
12. Changing Skin Appearance with Age: As you age, your skin may go through changes. A dermatologist can offer advice on maintaining healthy and vibrant skin as you get older.
Remember, dermatologists are specialized doctors who can diagnose and treat a wide range of skin-related issues.than Consult Dr. Deepam Shah practicing at Viva Aesthetic Clinic as he considered Best Dermatologist in South Mumbai.

Hi. I just found the hypothyroidism community on tumblr. I'm looking for ways to deal with my dry skin, especially my scalp. Any suggestions?
Suggestions from your followers are also welcome
Hope you're having a good day. :)
Hello! Sorry to hear you're dealing with hypothyroidism. It's a pain, isn't it?
I do not have dry scalp issues, but I do have curly hair and I know how important moisture is. I Googled dry scalp products and found this list. Out of all the brands on there, I recommend Hask mainly because I'm familiar with it and love how clean their products are. I try to use super clean products because 1) curly hair is high maintenance and 2) my autoimmune disease means I want to be conscious of what I'm putting in and on my body. Hask is sulfate, paraben, phthalate, gluten, and aluminum starch free. My other recommendation on that list would be OGX. You can find both pretty much anywhere. I've seen them at Walmart, Target, and Ulta.
Depending on your symptoms and hair type, you might want to try co-washing instead of shampooing. Shampoo strips the scalp of its natural oils while a co-wash helps keeps the oils and moisture in the hair and scalp. I personally use this one but I'm sure there are other options out there. You could also try a weekly deep condition treatment and a scalp massager to see if that helps.
Now, as for dry skin. I live in the desert and have eczema. I am very used to dry skin. I would start with a cream over a lotion. Lotions tend to be too thin, so you'll want a cream or balm that contains heavy duty moisturizers like ceramides, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, dimethicone, urea, or shea butter
I use Cetaphil's moisturizing cream (the one in the huge, expensive tub) when my skin is at its driest. They have a lighter moisturizing lotion that I use when my skin is dry but not parched. Cera Ve is another good brand for this, but I don't like how it makes my skin feel oily. It could work great for you. Walmart has a knock off Cetaphil brand for half the price of the name brand, but I haven't tried it yet.
Regardless of what brand you use, avoid artificial fragrances. (Bath and Body Works, I'm looking at you.) Use a mild soap and cream and see how your skin reacts and goes from there. Coconut oil is a natural emollient and fine to use so long as it's not synthetic. If your legs are particularly dry and itchy after shaving, Jason's aloe vera lotion has been very helpful.
In response to both dry scalp and dry skin, keep your showers or baths on the cooler side. I know hot water is amazing, but it will dry your skin out faster. I've also heard patting rather than rubbing towel dry is beneficial, but I'm lazy and haven't tried that.
Some other tips:
HYDRATE. Alcohol and caffeine can dehydrate your skin so make sure you're drinking enough water.
Buy a small humidifier and use it in the rooms you frequent the most or at night in your room when you're sleeping.
Does anyone have dry skin/scalp remedies? Feel free to pitch in!
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

What Is Herbal Oil?
Many people ask "what is herbal oil is effective for? ", so I thought I would write a little about this matter. Today we will look at the properties of the oil.
Herbal oil has been around for many years, it has been used as a treatment for skin problems and rashes in general. They can also be used to treat infections and external conditions such as acne.
The most common use of this oil is to use it as a moisturizer on the skin and it uses plant oils as a base. It has a concentration of several different oils and these are separated out in a process called fractionation.
Most of the oils come from natural sources. These are the same types of oils used in products such as anti-aging creams, hair care products and soaps.
These natural oils have been used for thousands of years by cultures all over the world. They have been passed down from generation to generation as a great way to improve the quality of life and provide relief from skin issues.
Herbal oil is used for all kinds of conditions including psoriasis, eczema, dry skin, scars, acne, rashes, insect bites, chicken pox, and more. It is often combined with other oils in the form of lotions, bath soaps, scrubs, and shower gels.
So what is herbal oil is effective for? Here are some suggestions:
Hair - For treating dandruff, oily hair, dry hair, and hair damage such as mange, seborrhea, dandruff, brittle hair, and itchy scalp. It also reduces greasy build up and leaves your hair shiny and soft.
Acne Scars - It can help get rid of scarring and marks from acne. It helps control inflammation, which is very important for reducing the pain associated with acne scars.
Eczema - Cleanses, heals, and helps control eczema. It is a natural remedy that works quickly to relieve skin irritation and itching associated with eczema.
Psoriasis - Severe psoriasis is a condition that require attention, but this is something that can be treated with herbal treatment. This is an ailment that are usually very hard to deal with and requires the appropriate care.
Dry Skin - It is an excellent moisturizer for curing, minimizing and reducing dryness, and treating painful, sensitive, or itchy skin like for cracked heels, for sunburn, or for cold sores. It also reduces dryness, has no harsh chemicals, and is very good for treating eczema and psoriasis.
A lot of people ask this question, and the answer is easy - Why Herbal Oils? The reason is that there are a lot of herbal oils in use today.
You want to make sure that you choose a good quality skin care product that is full of essential oils. But, it is not enough to just pick a product that has one, and nothing else. There are other factors that need to be considered as well.
So, how do you determine the best essential oils to use? Here are some of the answers that I am going to give you today.
First, before you look at the content of the skin care products that you are using, you should first understand the difference between the essential oils and their derivatives. Essential oils come from plants, such as Rosemary or lavender. There are different properties in the oils of different plants.
The only difference between the essential oils and the plant derivatives is the concentration of the two. The difference is very small, and there is a little bit of each that is added to make the oil. You can be sure that the concentrated oil has more potency and healing properties than the plant derivative, and that the oil can provide all the healing properties that the plant derivative does.
However, that is not the only difference between the two, and that is not the only thing that you should consider when using essential oils. The most important thing that you should do is look at the scientific data for the specific oil that you are using.

3rd February 2020
8 weeks on testosterone.
Hi all. Time for an update.
It's been 2 months now. I haven't posted anything because...well...not much has happened. I know progress with hormones is slow but fucking hell.
Content warning for body ickiness, menstruation, genital talk.
General Stuff
I mentioned in my 20th of December 2019 update that my weight and body fat measurements had changed. So here's an update.
Chart as before.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/0988967bef884683b1bbd5d539c1a785/a0119e7049895849-62/s540x810/a0731df27791a08eb33e2041547e403d273ef72b.jpg)
I have put on a lot of weight now and tbh I'm not sure why. My appetite has weakened a lot. I'm snacking a lot less and having more regular meals (which isn't to do with hormones and more to do with me recovering from eating disorder).
I am however drinking a LOT of water. Thorsty boy.
Talking of thirsty....
Sex Drive
Not sure how much people on here know about me, but I'm a sex favourable asexual guy. I have experienced sexual attraction but...rarely and not consistent to people so I dunno what's going on.
I also usually had a very low libido. In the past year my libido had been going up naturally, and as is typical with testosterone it now has had a boost as well. I don't feel necessarily any bigger drive to have sexual contact with others, but knowing it's easier to turn me on had had me curious as to if I could be more casual about sex, despite not having sexual attraction. I won't go into it but it's been interesting.
Genitals
Hi again! It felt like my growth had stopped but recently taken another look and I don't think you could look at it and think it belongs to a cis woman. The head now peeks out of the foreskin most of the time and I can pull it back to reveal the whole head which is very bright pink. I know a lot of guys complain about over sensitive genitals at this time but such hasn't been the case for me. But then I have quite a bit of fat and hair down there so that's probably keeping me protected. Though touching the head doesn't feel overwhelming like it used to before I was on T.
Menstruation wise, still regular as clockwork. Lasting longer than they did before (used to be 3 days, now 5 or 6) and now I get period pains which is!!! Not fucking nice considering I have been very lucky to miss them most of my life.
Skin
My skin is maybe getting a bit oily. I have regular spots on my face but nothing too dramatic. Eczema is in full force but again I keep forgetting to take my antihistamines so that is probably the culprit. I might invest in something to help.
Hair
My hair has definitely become more greasy. It used to cycle between feeling soft and fluffy when washed, then dry and easy to manage, and then flat and greasy. Now it seems to jump right to flat and greasy. Interestingly I've had less dandruff. But that makes sense if my scalp is more sticky. Hair isn't falling out. Hairline doesn't seem to have changed (it has always been kinda square as per the picture).
Mood and Attitude
Definitely not having angry outbursts as some people report. Haven't cried since my last update. But I've had no reason to and never been much of a crier anyway. I'm more confident for sure, but I've also moved home recently. Out of a stressful situation so that says a lot for my more positive outlook.
Face and Fat
My face is fatter because I've put on weight. I'd say on regard to fat distribution my face hasn't benefited. Actually none of me has. All my extra weight has gone to my hips and back and added to my muffin top/love handles. I hate it. It reminds me of when I was on the contraceptive pill. :/
Voice
Nope. No change yet. Actually I read up on it and apparently some guys never experience voice changes...especially older guys as our cartilidge is less inclined to grow. And some guys end up with a broken voice forever. So... I'm terrified of that. As a singer the thought kills me.
Body and Facial Hair
No change at all. Might try minoxidil for beard growth but chances are it won't do anything because nothing is growing at all yet.
Concerns
If I'm honest, I don't think the T is having a proper effect. It could be because I'm using testogel and have some sort of issue with absorbing it but my suspicion is my body is turning it back into oestrogen (hence the body fat stuff and heavier periods). I'm trying not to worry about it too much until my 6 month appointment. But it's frustrating.
Overall...
Very downhearted. Everything else in life is pretty good and this is the only real thing bothering me, which probably just makes it feel worse but I'm coping. Bought myself a packer as a treat to help with some dysphoria.
Until next time folks x

The Illustrated Herbiary Collectible Box Set: Guidance and Rituals from 36 Bewitching Botanicals; Includes Hardcover Book, Deluxe Oracle Card Set, and Carrying Pouch (Wild Wisdom)
Rosemary is the smell of deja vu and the after-breath of nostalgia. Her gift is the faint scent that teases and vanishes, leaving you longing for something you can’t quite name, with memories that crest and crash, pulling you gasping into their undertow.
In Victorian times Rosemary was said to say, “Remember me.” This is but a small part of her magic. Rosemary can ease remembrance, softening sharp edges, or she can dredge the distant past, pulling on your DNA to bring forward the longings of lineage. Crush the leaves. Hold them to your nose. The past is encoded into our cellular memory. Rosemary whispers, Sink into the knowledge that lives in your bones. Let memory rise up from the body of your being.
Honoring Ancestral Memory {Ritual}
Rosemary’s magic lies in her scent and the volatile oil hidden in her leaves. Science has affirmed that the smell of Rosemary’s essential oil enhances memory. Here’s how it works; When you inhale Rosemary, her vaporous oils cross through the mucous membranes in your nose and enter your bloodstream. Recall is significantly improved with Rosemary flowing in your veins.
You can get a good whiff of rosemary by crushing fresh leaves between your fingers or by rubbing a drop of rosemary essential oil between your palms. Then hold your hands over your nose and inhale for a few minutes. Notice how you feel.
Remembering Your Lineage
Connect with your ancestral past through freewriting. Her’s how: Grab a notebook and set a timer for 10 minutes. Below is a prompt to start your writing. After you read it, begin writing and don’t stop until your timer goes off.
I can almost guarantee that you’ll feel silly or lost or confused for at least the first 3 minutes. You’ll feel like you are making things up, or that you don’t know what to write. Keep writing. At a certain point, your ego will step aside and that is when the magic happens.
Hee’s your writing prompt: Dear {name of ancestor}, I’m working to deepen my ancestral ties. Is there anything you’d like to share with me? Now start writing, answering in the voice of your ancestor.
You Are Made Of Memories {Refection}
Rosemary whispers the memories of this lifetime, but she also reminds us of the kitchens of generations past and the scent of camphor mixing with sea air. Our DNA has traveled through millennia. When we think of memory, we focus on the people we ourselves have known – grandparents, great-aunts, cousins twice removed. Our thoughts tend to be based on personalities, experiences, likes or dislikes. Rosemary asks us to travel beyond those associations to feel for the memory that lives in the twisting threads of our chromosomes. This is what it means to honor our ancestors and to be rooted in our own history.
What if your bones are ancient bedrock and your laugh the wild wind? What if you are not only an individual but the present incarnation in a long lineage?
Rosemary Oil; Benefits of Therapeutic Use
Rosemary is a fragrant herb that is native to the Mediterranean and receives its name from the Latin words “ros” (dew) and “marinus” (sea), which means “dew of the Sea.” It also grows in England, Mexico, the USA, and northern Africa, namely in Morocco. Known for its distinctive fragrance that is characterized by an energizing, evergreen, citrus-like, herbaceous scent, Rosemary Essential Oil is derived from the aromatic herb Rosmarinus Officinalis, a plant belonging to the Mint family, which includes Basil, Lavender, Myrtle, and Sage. Its appearance, too, is similar to Lavender with flat pine needles that have a light trace of silver.
Historically, Rosemary was considered sacred by the ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Hebrews, and Romans, and it was used for numerous purposes. The Greeks wore Rosemary garlands around their heads while studying, as it was believed to improve memory, and both the Greeks and the Romans used Rosemary in almost all festivals and religious ceremonies, including weddings, as a reminder of life and death. In the Mediterranean, Rosemary leaves and Rosemary Oil was popularly used for culinary preparation purposes, while in Egypt the plant, as well as its extracts, were used for incense. In the Middle Ages, Rosemary was believed to be able to ward off evil spirits and to prevent the onset of the bubonic plague. With this belief, Rosemary branches were commonly strewn across floors and left in doorways to keep the disease at bay. Rosemary was also an ingredient in “Four Thieves Vinegar,” a concoction that was infused with herbs and spices and used by grave robbers to protect themselves against the plague. A symbol of remembrance, Rosemary was also tossed into graves as a promise that loved ones who passed away would not be forgotten.
It was used throughout the civilizations in cosmetics for its antiseptic, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-oxidant properties and in medical care for its health benefits. Rosemary had even become a favorite alternative herbal medicine for the German-Swiss physician, philosopher, and botanist Paracelsus, who promoted its healing properties, including its ability to strengthen the body and to heal organs such as the brain, heart, and liver. Despite being unaware of the concept of germs, people of the 16th century used Rosemary as incense or as massage balms and oils to eliminate harmful bacteria, especially in the rooms of those suffering from illness. For thousands of years, folk medicine has also used Rosemary for its ability to improve memory, soothe digestive issues, and relieve aching muscles.

Though Rosemary can grow in a small pot inside a home, when grown outside, the Rosemary bush can reach a height of approximately 5 ft. Due to its adaptability to various ecological conditions, Rosemary plants can vary in appearance in terms of their colors, the sizes of their flowers, and the aromas of their essential oils. The Rosemary plant requires adequate water drainage, as it will not grow well if it is over-irrigated or in soils with high clay content, thus it can grow in the earth that ranges in soil type from sandy to clay loam soil as long as it has a pH range of 5,5 to 8,0.
The upper side of Rosemary leaves are dark and the undersides are pale and covered in thick hairs. The tips of the leaves begin to sprout small, tubular pale- to deep-blue flowers, which continue to bloom in the summer. Rosemary Essential Oil of the most superior quality is obtained from the flowering tops of the plant, although oils can also be obtained from the stems and leaves before the plant begins to flower. Rosemary fields are usually harvested once or twice a year, depending on the geographical region of cultivation. Harvesting is most often done mechanically, which allows more frequent cutting due to higher yields from rapid regrowth.
Before distillation, the leaves are dried either naturally by the heat of the sun or by using driers. Drying the leaves in the sun results in poor quality leaves for producing oils. The ideal drying method involves the use of a forced air-flow drier, which results in better quality leaves. After the product is dried, the leaves are further processed to have the stems removed. They are sieved to remove dirt.
HOW IS ROSEMARY OIL EXTRACTED?
Rosemary Essential Oil is most commonly extracted through the steam distillation of the plant’s flowering tops and leaves. After distillation, the oil has a watery viscosity and can be colorless or pale yellow. It’s the powerful and refreshing smell is herbaceous and similar to mint with an undertone that is characterized as woody and balsamic.
USES OF ROSEMARY OIL
The uses of Rosemary Essential Oil are abundant, ranging from medicinal and odorous to cosmetic. Its many forms include oils, gels, lotions, soaps, shampoos, and sprays, to name a few suggestions for homemade products.
Used in aromatherapy, the woody, evergreen scent of Rosemary can promote relaxation and boost alertness as well as brain function, thereby improving memory. To relieve stress while studying and maintain concentration, diffuse Rosemary Essential Oil in the room for a maximum of 30 minutes.
Diluted with a carrier oil and used topically, Rosemary Essential Oil’s detoxifying and anesthetic properties can boost immunity by recharging the body’s detoxification system. By diluting Rosemary Oil in a carrier oil such as Fractionated Coconut Oil and massaging it into the lymph nodes, the body will be stimulated to more rapidly eliminate waste and to soothe digestive ailments. Its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties make it an ideal essential oil for relieving muscle aches and pains. For a massage oil that reduces pain, blend Rosemary Oil with Peppermint Oil and dilute the blend in Coconut Oil then rub on tender muscles and aching joints.
Rosemary Essential Oil’s anti-viral, anti-microbial, and antiseptic properties make it a natural homemade multi-purpose cleaning spray to cleanse indoor environments and eliminate harmful bacteria therein. A dilution of Rosemary Oil in distilled white vinegar and water makes a spray cleaner that is suitable to wipe down surfaces like countertops.

Seborrhoeic Dermatitis derives the name Seborrhoeic Dermatitis because it normally occurs on areas on your body, which are rich in sebum. Scalp is one such area. Eczema and psoriasis seem to be very similar skin conditions. Are the treatments the same? Eczema and psoriasis have a similar appearance. Both are characterized by red, dry patches on their skin. Both can have a hereditary basis, and treatment for both is generally use of topical cortisone preparations. Eczema patients are more likely to get itchy and dry on their facial skin, so you should begin a procedure with more hydrating products. Patients with psoriasis, can tolerate products better, and are less prone to developing allergic reactions. The major warning for patients with psoriasis is that the psoriasis may develop wherever the skin is traumatized. During a facial, be gentle since an aggressive skin puncture could possibly bring on the psoriasis in that area. 6. At what age should someone go to the dermatologist to get all of her moles checked? Even newborns should have their moles checked by the pediatrician. As we go through life, up to about the age of 30, we form new moles. Patient education is a vital part of the best possible health care. During my time with patients, I strive to ensure they have a complete understanding of possible risks when it comes to skin and the sun. I also give them recommendations about how to protect their skin. 10. Patients In Our Practice Also Look To Our Staff As A Model Of Excellent Skin Care. Tell Me What Your Skin Routine Is Like? What Do You Do If A Patient Complains About Being Kept Waiting Too Long? First, when I finally am able to help the patient, I would apologize for the situation. Sometimes this makes the doctors get a little behind in their schedule, but most people would be understanding in this situation. 12. How Do You Determine When A Mole Needs Further Evaluation For Skin Cancer? There are many different warning signs that indicate a problem with a mole. First, if a patient tells me that the size has recently changed, then I want to examine it more closely. Another possible warning sign is if the color changes. Next, there is concern if the texture has changed or the height of the mole has transformed. If I notice bleeding or pus oozing from the mole, that is an issue. If a patient complains of the mole being itchy, it should be evaluated as well. 13. How Do You Make Sure Your Relationship With Your Colleagues Is Beneficial When Working Together? With everyone in the medical practice, the most important thing is to treat people with respect. It’s also important to listen to people and to take time out of your day to say hello. What about a lot of medical issues? Herniated discs, scoliosis, muscle spasms that prevent movement, knee pain, seborrheic eczema on the face/scalp that causes inflammation/scabbing/bleeding/pain, a list of dental issues due mental illness/e.d., allergies to just about everything (the test was easier to read if they just say what i'm NOT allergic to), natural pH imbalance that causes recurring infections (some "flares" lasting months-a year at a time), etc. Does that count as chronic illness?
Like I mentioned earlier, it’s a definition that very few people agree on! I’m by no means an expert, just someone who experiences a chronic illness myself. I’ll share the definition I personally feel fits best again:
“A chronic condition is a human health condition or disease that is persistent or otherwise long-lasting in its effects or a disease that comes with time. The term chronic is often applied when the course of the disease lasts for more than three months.
“In medicine, a chronic condition can be distinguished from one that is acute. An acute condition typically affects one portion of the body and responds to treatment. A chronic condition on the other hand usually affects multiple areas of the body, is not fully responsive to treatment, and persists for an extended period of time.”
“Chronic conditions may have periods of remission or relapse where the disease temporarily goes away, or subsequently reappears. Periods of remission and relapse are commonly discussed when referring to substance abuse disorders which some consider to fall under the category of chronic condition.”
(source)
It sounds like a lot of those are chronic, but may not all be considered illnesses. The broad categories that pop into my head are chronic: illness, disease, condition and pain.
But, like any definition, applying it to humans (and the health problems they experience) isn’t going to fit every time. Sadly, most health problems don’t fit neatly into one box!
