as tedious/obnoxious as it is to rewrite early chapters, there’s a real sense of pleasure in figuring out how much I can stretch a premise before it breaks. finding out new ways to convey the same things that I did the first time around, only better. untangling so many strange, abortive plot lines/concepts that I didn’t end up utilizing properly - things I didn’t think I could get rid of without the whole foundation falling apart.

but then I did, and the story was better off for it. hasn’t even been 3 years since I really started writing, and already I look at the first volume with an extremely critical eye. which isn’t BAD or a manifestation of self-hatred or anything like that - I was just feeling things out. the first draft was shit, naturally, but it needed to happen. and now that I have “felt things out,” I’m confident enough to throw away any part of it that I want because I have a much better idea of what I’m doing.

I gotta be honest I’ve never played that game in my entire life, but I was literally taking photos of this one guy from the game this morning and overlaying them in varying opacities. Weird coincidence.

gosh i'd like to get into gaming but like everything is expensive and i wouldn't even know where or how to start

#mostly pc games i think #recommendations are welcome!#gaming #like my gaming experience is limited to a few 2000s-pc games the nintendo dc (+dsi+3ds) and the ps2 and ps3 #oh and the gameboy advence sp!#all of those consoles where my older sibling's first (8 year age gap) so i have never in my life bought a game console #i think i's like to play minecraft (yes really) (i played the ps3 version but i'd like to play the pc version)#and like uncharted and tomb raider #oh and jedi fallen order and survivor ofcourse #the only reason i'd buy a switch is to play animal crossing (ac new leaf is one of my favorite games) but like that's noit woth it #and like i think that small indie games are cute #i actually think that game development seems really fun (but also like those people do get not paid that well and they are often overworked #like i had to make a word search in java for a uni project and i thought that was really fun #kj post

Most people's reactions to the new RF: Oh thank god all the likely love interests thus far actually look like adults!!!

Me: Please god let them be hyping up the "town building" addition more than necessary. I DO NOT want to actually make and shape the town. Please.

#rune factory #literally i have never had any desire to do any kind of landscaping or building placement in games #if i WANTED that i'd play animal crossing. give me a pre-built town that i can just tack on a few necessary things like a monster barn #heck i'm one of those people who doesn't even mess with the houses when playing sims!#i can spend HOURS making a family of sims. just to stick them in one of two default houses depending on how big the starting household is #also for the record i do not care and have never cared for the 'age/appearance discourse' that constantly haunts this series #regardless of how some of the characters look and/or act... they are considered close in age and an appropriate match for the PROTAGONIST #the protagonist is still pretty young too! so the choices will be similarly young! it's not rocket science.#heck i much prefer this to say a game where you're given the option of significantly older love interests despite a canonly young protag #(cough persona 5 cough. kawakami is GREAT just as a social link but being able to romance her when playing a highschooler is... a choice)#that said at the end of the day it's all fiction so i don't really care that much.#ultimately i'm of the opinion that the more love interests the better! more options means more opportunity for EVERYONE to strike gold!#it just bothers me how a huge chunk of the fandom hates on or is uncomfortable with several completely valid love interests

#eating pine branches at grandmas.#lived next door.#renting.#pine branches were really tasty and chewy like ... soupy tootsie rolls?#tried to sneak up on sister #while holding a plastic bag #found. she thought i was soemthing worse. also had been followed by crows for awhile #went back home. grandparents mom and uncles gave me 21 cents and advice on how to have a good birthday on the dime #played sonic the hedgehog with mom except ive never played sonic before in my life so it definitely wasnt that #more like animal crossing with an explore / battle mode?#and you could only pick from 3 characters #mom played with me. i was surprised.#. next dream #exploring a minecraft like world. big mansion #somehow end up in hell #i fall down and loose my exit. have to fight invisible ghasts and monsters until i can explore and find a way back #find a way back. no tools. hard to find resources to make a pickaxe in this mansion.#im with a bunch of people and mocked for not being able to find twigs #someone destroys a chair and hands me a bundle of twigs #i know the next step is to go punch a tree but all the trees growing here are pretty and i dont want to #later theres some ceremony. funeral maybe but with more religious undertones?#i have to wear a dress #and am handed heavy dangly earrings to wear #after i mourn and gather myself. some sort of special symbolism.#i take longer to mourn than the crowd of others would like #wearing the earrings themselves feels like tremendous grief to me. the weight of doing something I Am Not.#then they ask me to put on eyeshadow too #all of this in a very feminine way mind you #i tear tf out of there and flee #i run into more people in the hallway. somehow this place ends up being the church i grew up in

OH YEAH NO so the Bucket List is Kiryu's side story while Dondoko Island is Ichiban's... most extreme tonal shift between the two IMAGINABLE but I did get a little misty-eyed at the trailer I'm not even gonna lieeeeee it's gonna be the perfect closure for Kiryu and for us as players... it seems like they mostly showed off the characters you can summon that we were shown earlier this year so I am Most Curious what else there is to the story... Date's the MVP for linking Kiryu back up with everyone though for real... Whatever they plan on doing with Haruka is GOING to make me disembowel myself too

While I actually don't think the guy in the suit is Ebina or Jo based on outfit alone (both ties are a cooler purple than that), it's one of the only scenes with no real context, so I do wanna know what's going on there...
