I had been wanting to make an elemental tile set for a while and finally just went ahead and made the first design samples in between orders yesterday. These runes may be placed on your altar or used during the invocation of elements or for divination.
They are made from non toxic art resin and hand painted / designed using alcohol ink, dried flowers/paper flowers (Earth) and mica pigments. I considered adding some little fishes to the Water tile and may still offer that as a variation if anyone is interested. You may find this new rune set on sale for the next two days in my shop! If you use the link below, you will also receive a promo code for an additional $5 off your cart subtotal of $20.00+
Also, I still have plenty of items for anyone interested in an intuitively chosen witchy mystery box that includes my own hand crafted items, herbs / Botanicals, altar and spell supplies, and more (see listing details for all items included)
I have seen MANY other mystery boxes that follow the same theme and I can promise you that you will receive ABSOLUTELY NO:
•Bath bombs (sorry if you actually wanted bath bombs, but I don't make them and therefore will not select them for your box)
•Stickers, Pins, and Other "Filler"- Whether you choose 5, 10, 15, or 20+ items for your mystery box, I will never fill your mystery box with useless filler. My decision to offer these mystery boxes came from a place of love and need- I have so many of my own handmade creations (Talismans, thermogenic crystals, beaded jewelry, spell beads, crystal jewelry, pendants, trays, wands, candles, pendulums / divination tools, beauty masks, soaps, scrubs, and more) that I either had listed for some time and they didn't sell or I never got around to listing at all that I would rather hand select for someone I know will appreciate them than sell them bottom dollar to someone who I know will resell them at a much higher price, and thus, I have an abundance of materials to create these things as well as an abundance of spell crafting and altar items due to buying in bulk.
I sincerely wished to used mystery boxes as a way to give baby witches a 'starter kit' of essential herbs and altar items, adept witches a way to boost their spiritual inventory, and a way to introduce pagans, Wiccans, and anyone interested in magick / the occult a hand selected, curated box of items they can use and maybe find something new they love.
•Toys- aside from the occasional voodoo or 'hex doll', mystery boxes will not contain toys. Mystery boxes are intended for those 18+ for entertainment / spiritual purposes only and contain small objects that can be choking hazards to children and pets.
•Incense Sticks or Candles Individually Counted- A friend and regular of mine showed me a mystery box she had purchased from another Etsy seller that she had paid $50 for. The listing details stated that each box would contain 10-20 items. 8 of those items were incense sticks / candles the seller counted individually. I cant. If either of these items are included in a cluster, they will be counted as a set, therefore essentially one item unless a larger item is included in your box and I literally have no room for much else.
•Non Magickal Items- As said before, the witchy theme is intentional and I wish to stick to it. If jewelry is included, it will be in the form of talismans or crystal jewelry that has some kind of spiritual property that is outlined in your manifest. The only non witchy items included in this box are still spiritual in a way.
That would be my own self care creations in the form of masks, scrubs, soaps, oils, and serums that are intended to be incorporated in your self care routine that will also assist you spiritually, physically, and emotionally. When I graduated high school I pursued a license as an esthetician and Cosmetologist. Financial hardships caused those licenses to lapse, but I still have the knowledge and know how to apply that to my craft and integrate organic, sustainably sourced ingredients many of which come from my own backyard :)
Each mystery box includes an antique scroll manifest like the one shown above for a customer's special request box that identifies each selection and its potential uses / properties. They start at $10 and are currently on sale right now 15% off until February 1st.
I am a one witch show- please allow me a few days to compile your order and have it shipped to you. If you are trying to meet a deadline, ordering a gift or wish to place a customized or personalized order, feel free to contact me! I will be happy to work with you to manifest your dreams!

WAYS TO MAKE AND SAVE MONEY AS A STUDENT PART 2 (HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE) how to be your own boss as a teen
(this is part 2 to the first list I made on ways to make and save money as a student
I also just made a YouTube video on this topic so check that out here for more tips aside from this post: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SriRI_kY1pg&t=25s )
We all know that in order to be a successful student, you have to dedicate a lot of your time and energy to your studying (duh). On top of that, a lot of us have other commitments, such as sports or extracurricular activities. Pursuing and dedicating time to these things is actually just as important as pursuing good grades, especially when it comes to applying for universities and scholarships. And after all of these commitments, we realize that we want (or need) to do and have things that cost money.
I made a post on this just under a year ago and it’s my most popular post. I thought I would make an updated version with some more in depth tips and ideas that I’ve used.
HOW DO I MAKE MONEY WITHOUT GETTING A “REAL” JOB?
IF I HAVE A JOB ALREADY, HOW CAN I MAKE EXTRA MONEY ON THE SIDE?
Basically, if you want to earn money without getting a regular job (or on top of having a job) you can do one or more of these three things:
1) become an entrepreneur of sorts
2) find jobs that take place at your school or campus (since you spend most of your time there, why not try to make it your “job”)
3) establish habits that will allow you to save the money you’re earning
quick side note: I would recommend getting a job, even if it’s over the summer or for a short period of time. Working for other businesses and people has taught me so much. Although the job itself can be demanding and maybe not even worth the money you’re making, the experience is always worthwhile. It also taught me how expensive things are when you have to support yourself (for example, if you need/want something that’s $60, that’s about 4-6 hours of work you have to put in, depending on what your job wage is).
HOW DO I BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR?
this is the definition of entrepreneur that google gives you: a person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so.
yes, it’s kind of a risk. what happens if you don’t have any clients for a while? what happens if you have more clients than you can handle? if you’re reading this right now, you’re probably willing to take the risk because a) you don’t have time to get a job (which demands a lot from you btw) or b) you have a job and that isn’t cutting it. below are some ideas for “businesses” that you can run yourself. (examples of businesses that are bolded are in high demand currently, from my experience and knowledge.)
1) teach things
if you’re patient, personable, good at teaching, and are willing to put yourself out there, use your talents to your advantage. you can teach kids, adults, or anyone in between, depending on what you prefer and cater to. below are some examples of teaching services you could provide:
- music lessons
- tutoring (I get more in depth with this in my YouTube video)
- art lessons
- coding/animation/web design
- software (i.e. imovie, adobe premier, microsoft word)
2) make things
- design websites for people and businesses
- design/make animations for businesses
- open an etsy shop and make things
- revamp old furniture and sell it
- flip books on websites like ebay (what is book flipping?)
- cook or bake
- grow plants
3) grow your social media (or someone else’s)
4) sell your stuff
- clothes
- books
- decor
- jewellery/accessories
- old technology that can still be used
5) sit for your business
- babysit
- pet sit
- house sit
- host “summer camps” where you babysit kids, plan some games and activities to do with them, and charge per day or week instead of every hour. I did this when I was in eighth grade (yes, you heard me right) and I made $1000 for one week. (I also talk about this in my video more in depth)
small note about being an entrepreneur: you have to put yourself out there. the hardest part about getting business doing any of these things is gaining momentum and getting clients who will eventually tell other people about your services. before this happens, you have to shamelessly self-promote. I’m talking flyers around your neighbourhood, knocking on doors, posting on social media, and making yourself known. that’s the main “risk” I mentioned above, which is using your precious time to promote yourself.
HOW DO I MAKE MONEY AT SCHOOL/ON CAMPUS?
It’s harder to find gigs that pay money at school, but here’s the trick: you have to ask and show interest. Become friends with your counsellors and principals. Make it a priority to stop at bulletin boards and flyer hubs at your school that might be advertising jobs. below I’ve included some ways that I made money at school:
- tutoring
- score keeping: this may not be offered at every school, but at my high school students can get paid for scorekeeping sports games. it involves more than putting scores on a billboard, there’s also writing and stat-keeping involved. I got paid $15 per game, but again, I don’t know if other high schools do this. It never hurts to ask though!
- coaching: a lot of community programs and schools are in need of peer coaches for younger kids.
- refereeing: same as coaching, except you’re refereeing sports games.
- trade programs: in a lot of regions, certain jobs or trades are in high demand. in order to get young people interested in pursuing these jobs as careers, trade programs and companies are offering to pay students to volunteer or work in these areas over the summer. all they require is a certain amount of hours and written proof that you worked or volunteered. I had friends who got hired in a “trade” job such as roofing, horticulture, etc. for their summer job and got an extra $1000 on top of being paid their normal wage, just because of these career programs.
all of these job ideas are suggestions and might not be offered or needed where you go to school. the main point I want to get across is to talk to your counsellors and get involved in activities at your school.
HOW DO I SAVE MY MONEY?
- stop buying starbucks everyday! that $5 tea or coffee adds up (if you buy a coffee/tea every school day: 5 days x $5 = $25 a week being spent on drinks). learn how to make your own drinks that are the equivalent to the drinks you buy at starbucks, and you’ll be saving a lot of money.
- know which method of payment enables you to spend more money. if it helps to know what you’re spending, avoid using your debit card. for me, I hate having cash because I want to spend it wherever I go. If I bring my debit card, I make sure I only put the money I will need in my account, so I don’t overspend.
- try challenging yourself to save cash for a month. a popular challenge right now is the $5 challenge, where you save every $5 bill you get for a month up to one year.
- pack your lunches and snacks. avoid spending money at your school cafeteria/restaurants as much as you can. I will even plan my lunches and snacks every sunday for each week, so I don’t have any excuse to not make my lunch the night before.
- shop and eat out at places that have customer rewards systems/credit. if you’re gonna spend money, you might as well save some because of it.
- become a couponer cause why not.
What are some ways you make or save your money?

Need Extra Income? One of These 10 Best Side Hustles Can Help You Out
Is your financial situation making you think about starting a side hustle?
Side hustles, also known as side gigs, are jobs you do outside your primary day job. These gigs can be a great way to pay off debt or earn some extra spending money. They can also be a means to tap into unused skills or explore passions.
So if you’re about to start searching for a side hustle, you’ve come to the right place. Here are some tips on what makes a great side hustle, what qualities workers need to have for success and 10 gigs to consider.
What The Best Side Hustles Have in Common
Not all side hustles are the same. To help you choose the 10 best side gigs, we researched numerous jobs and found some commonalities such as having a low barrier of entry, flexible schedules and availability in most areas. Here are some tips on what to look for in a good one.
Schedule Flexibility
Rule No. 1 when starting a side hustle: Don’t let it interfere with your day job. The last thing you want to do is mess up your primary source of income, as some companies may have policies in place that prevent employees from taking on extra gigs. If you’re cleared to do side hustles outside of your 9-to-5, make sure the gig allows for a flexible schedule.
By day, Brandon Ballweg works in the Kansas City, Missouri area as a marketer for an e-commerce business. At night, he runs a photography website and works app-based gig jobs. He says he enjoys app-based jobs like ride-share driving and meal delivery because there’s no set schedule.
“When you get off your regular job, you can just turn on the app and go,” he says. “It gives you a lot of flexibility, and that’s a big thing for me.” So find a job that works with your schedule.
It’s Something You Enjoy Doing
No matter what you end up choosing for your side hustle, pick something you enjoy doing. Seek out a gig that fits your personality and interests because it’s going to take up a lot of your free time. Krystal Covington, CEO of the networking service Women of Denver, has worked several side hustles over the years and currently puts in between 15 and 20 hours per month as a freelancer on Upwork doing marketing, public relations and internal business communications.
“If you have a [day] job and you’re side hustling, that’s a lot of work to be doing,” she says. “You’re not getting as much leisure time, so if you hate it, it’s going to be a terrible life.”
Low Cost of Entry
Another thing to factor in when choosing a side hustle is how much it’s going to cost to get it off the ground. Some gigs, such as those that are app-based, can be done right away, while others, like selling goods online, may need more time and money upfront. The cost of running your business will eat into your earnings as a self-employed worker. “If the side gig costs more money than it makes you, then it’s a problem, and I’ve seen people get into that trap,” Covington says.
The 10 Best Side Hustles
No gigs coming to mind? Below is a list of the 10 best side hustles that can be done outside your regular 9-to-5. Some gigs are easily obtainable, some provide passive income and others offer opportunities to use specialized skills.
1. Ride-share Driving
Your car can be a valuable asset in the gig economy. Ride-share companies, such as Uber and Lyft, are always looking for drivers interested in making extra money. To become a ride-share driver, you need to be at least 21-years old, have a valid U.S. driver’s license, proof of car insurance and vehicle registration, a four-door vehicle that seats five people, and pass criminal and driving background checks.
The earnings potential of ride-share drivers varies depending on how often and when they drive. Driving at peak “surge” times can put more money in your pocket. Drivers can earn $18 to $40 per hour, with many earning around $25 per hour.
2. Meal Delivery
If driving around strangers in the back of your car doesn’t sound appealing to you, then try meal delivery. Services like Uber Eats, Grubhub and DoorDash, allow people to order takeout and have it delivered to their door. One difference between traditional Uber and Uber Eats is that you’re not required to have a four-door vehicle. Drivers can use two-door cars, motorized scooters and bicycles. Uber Eats drivers earn pickup, drop-off and trip mileage fees, plus tips. Also, like traditional Uber, surge pricing can boost your payout during peak times. Here’s how you can learn more about delivering for Uber Eats.
3. Freelance Work
If you have a particular set of skills and want to make some money using them, join a freelance network. Services like Fiverr and Upwork connect people with freelancers specializing in fields like copywriting, graphic design, coding, digital marketing, financial consulting and much more. Freelancer decide how much to charge for their services. Fiverr user Charmaine Pocek started writing resumes and cover letters for $5 a pop. Now she charges about $30 to $800 to write resumes, cover letters and optimize LinkedIn profiles. According to Fiverr, she’s earned more than $2 million using the site. Check out how she made her first million. It’s free to join Fiverr, and users keep 80% of your earnings made using the service.
4. Renting on Airbnb
Have a spare room? Might as well try to earn some money by listing it on Airbnb.
If you’re a good host with a desirable space, you could add hundreds — even thousands — of dollars to your savings account with Airbnb.
A few simple steps can make the difference between a great experience and a less-than-satisfactory one. We talked to Terence Michael, an Airbnb superhost based in Los Angeles.
Here are some of his tips:
Break out the labelmaker. “I have the entire house loaded with labels,” Michael says. “They look nice; they’re modern. This helps people feel less helpless.”
Be a good host, and stock your place with the toiletries you’d expect at a hotel — toilet paper, soap and towels. Here’s a little hack from Michael: “I order on Amazon and have it delivered when people are there.”
Be kind to your neighbors. “I say, ‘I’m not going to put anyone here who I think won’t be good for you,’” Michael explains. And I turn a lot of big groups away, especially in Nashville. I don’t want anyone going to the cops or the city.”
(Hosting laws vary from city to city. Please understand the rules and regulations applicable to your city and listing.)
5. Online Tutoring
If you have teaching experience, then here’s an opportunity to make some extra money from home. Online tutoring companies such as Tutor.com, Brainfuse and TutorMe allow people with teaching or tutoring experience to instruct K-12 students and adults on different topics. These topics include your basic grade school subjects (math, English, science, reading and social studies), SAT/ACT prep and college-level courses. Online tutors can earn anywhere between $9 and $25 per hour depending on the service, and sometimes the subject. Here’s a roundup of 10 online tutoring companies.
6. Teaching English as a Second Language
This is another opportunity for teachers looking for work-from-home opportunities. Companies like VIPKid, QKids and Italki connect U.S. instructors with students wanting to learn English as a second language. Jennifer Ross, a former schoolteacher from Mount Dora, Florida, told The Penny Hoarder in 2018, that she earns $520 working 24 hours a week as a VIPKid instructor.
“And now I can live the stay-at-home dog-mom life,” Ross says with a laugh.
7. Selling Craft Goods
Not all side hustles have to be service jobs. Consider making some money using your craft skills. Thanks to online platforms such as Etsy, eBay, Shopify and Amazon Handmade, artists have several outlets to sell their items without leaving their home or studio.
Each selling platform comes with its own pros and cons. Selling on Amazon, for example, gives you access to a huge online marketplace, but crafters will be up against stiff competition. Etsy seller Katrin Lerman told The Penny Hoarder in 2018 she has shops with Amazon Handmade and Shopify, but Etsy is her favorite platform.
“Etsy really caters to the handmade,” she says. “They understand [handmade] better than Amazon… [which] is very strict with all the rules.”
8. Delivering Groceries
Some people hate going to the supermarket, which is why grocery delivery services are on the rise. Instacart and Shipt employ gig workers who go shopping, pick out requested items and deliver them to customers’ homes. Shipt shoppers are paid per order — the price is higher for bigger orders — and they also receive tips. Destiny Firth, a Shipt shopper in Nashville, told The Penny Hoarder in 2017 she makes $17.50 an hour.
9. Creating Online Courses
If you’re a master of a topic and wish to make some passive income, then consider creating an online course. Massive Open Online Courses, or MOOCs, provided by companies like Udemy allow teachers and professionals to instruct students wanting to broaden their skills.
Instructors create the courses, which consist of audio, video, a PowerPoint-style presentation, practice assignments and exams, then charge a fee to enroll. The longer the course, the higher the pay. According to Udemy, the site keeps 50% of the cost if the student finds the class on their platform, but the instructor keeps 97% of the course cost when the student signs up using an instructor coupon.
10. Selling T-Shirts Online
If you’ve got ideas for catchy slogans or eye-catching graphics, why not put them on a T-shirt? Print-on-demand services such as Merch by Amazon, Printful and Redbubble allow people to upload their designs and sell products without dealing with the hassles of inventory and shipping. Each shirt is made to order, and the designer receives a percentage of the sale.
Stacy Caprio, a former designer who made shirts from April 2017 to Feb. 2018, says she still makes between $200 and $300 per month in passive income from T-shirt sales.
“I think it’s cool that there are so many platforms you can put your designs on,” she says. “There’s a lot of opportunity, especially for people who spend the time making high-quality designs.”
What Skills Do Side Hustlers Need to Have?
Finding a great side hustle is important, but that’s only half the equation. Each side hustler needs to have a set of intangible qualities to succeed.
Being a Self-Starter
A significant adjustment newbie side hustlers need to make is learning how to be a self-starter. Covington says you get used to the systems and workflows of your day job because they have always been there. It’s up to you as the sole employee to create your workflow and stay motivated so your products or assignments get done on time.
Keeping Things in Perspective
Side hustlers need to have realistic expectations. Ballweg says it’s most likely going to take awhile before your side hustle gets up to full speed and — hopefully someday — makes you a lot of money. “Keeping that in the back of your mind is a healthy way of looking at it,” he says.
Always Willing to Learn
You’re never too old or too experienced to learn something new. Covington listened to podcasts and audiobooks about side hustles to learn how to improve her businesses when juggling multiple side gigs. She says side hustle-focused podcasts can be a great place to gain inspiration and learn about the different ways people make money during their off hours.
Being Able to Forgive Your Mistakes
You’ll be better off knowing from the beginning that you’re going to make mistakes. This may be your first attempt trying to do a side hustle while balancing a day job and a personal life. Covington says there will be long nights and a lot of trial and error when learning how to run your business the best way possible. She says you have to be willing to forgive yourself if any setbacks occur.

Ebates: The Chrome Extension that PAYS YOU to Shop (Review)
Ebates: Because I deserve to be paid for my hard efforts in saving while shopping. Right? Right.
For the past year, I have gotten cash back every single time I’ve shopped online, in addition to discovering amazing shopping deals without even trying. As I am guilty of being an online-shopaholic (because in-person stores and sales people honestly overwhelm me), this is a HUGE deal–in the past year alone, I’ve already made over $90 cash back by using the Chrome extension “Ebates,” and the savings keep increasing! So what exactly is it, you ask? In short, Ebates helps you get usually between 2% and 15% cash back on basically anywhere you shop online. I.e. 2,000+ stores and growing! And sometimes, it’s up to 40% cash back. Crazy!
Ebates works with a bunch of big-name brands like Nordstrom, Kohl’s, and Amazon, and even cool just-digital websites like Etsy and Threadless. Do you want to save big too? Waste no time and click the exclusive sign up button below now! Don’t worry. Ebates is completely free and super easy to use. [And did I mention you’ll get a $10 bonus if you spend $25 within the first 90 days? No? Well, now I have.]
CLICK ME for GenTryGirl’s Exclusive Link to Join
[& Get $10 with first purchase of $25 or more]
Okay, so maybe you want to wait before clicking that random green button? That’s fine. Sometimes I’m conscientious too. Maybe you want to be convinced further on why exactly this Google chrome extension and website will totally change the way you shop online. I get it. That’s why I’ve provided you a thorough review of my experience in this post. Read more below (and don’t worry, the chance to click that little green button will appear at the end of this post as well. ).
THE EBATES BUTTON
I first came across Ebates last April whilst scouring the blogosphere for ways to save money. I knew I had an online spending problem,. To prevent my bank account from completely depleting from id-induced-spending-crazes, I needed to find an easy way save online. Then, I found Ebates. The Holy Grail of Online Savings! The non-lethal-golden-touch that King Midas was looking for all along! The answer to all my shopaholic problems!
I signed up through a special link like the one in this post (and later earned my $10 Cash Back on my first purchase!), and dragged the special Ebates button into my Google Chrome browser menu for easy alerts each time I visited a site where Ebates is offered. The button is one of my favorite things about Ebates. While you can certainly visit the Ebates website to see new sales offered by their affiliates and compare cash-back offers, you don’t have to. Your little Ebates browser icon will simply glow green and alert you with a friendly little pop-up to tell you if cash back is offered and how much!
Of course, I definitely recommend visiting the site or app now and then, especially if planning holiday gifts. Or a Treat YoSelf day. Whatever. They are both easy navigated to find you ALL of the latest online sales and coupon codes for their affiliate stores. I also love that alongside all of the stores’ most recent coupons and deals, Ebates reminds you of the additional major cash back you’ll be getting. I’ve seen amazing things like 80% off Sale + 10% cash back on your purchase at BIG retailers that would usually be way out of my price range.
THE APP
In addition to the Chrome toolbar extension, you can also download the Ebates app directly to your phone for easy savings while shopping on mobile. The app is available for iPhone, iPad, and Android. The only difference here is in the mobile app’s case, you’ll have to open the app first. After that, you must search for your store and click-through to ensure your savings get applied to your mobile purchase. I much prefer using my desktop to shop online for this reason. Honestly, it’s probably for the best. If I knew I could save money while just shopping through the convenience of my cell phone, I’d probably not make rent every month. Just saying. #ConfessionsOfAShopaholic
But–uh-oh, Ebates! What have you done?
NOW IN-STORE SHOPPING ENABLED
Are you ready for something even MORE awesome? Ebates has figured out how to get you the same extra cash back in-store. That’s right, in-store shoppers, you can have your moment in the sun now too. It’s as simple as adding your credit or debit card info into your secure account, searching their website for current in-store offers, and linking the offers you like directly to your card. You can even add new offers to your cards when you are actually in the store. So long as you pay with the linked card at check out, cash back will be headed your way soon in the form of a “Big Fat Check” from Ebates.
ALSO NEW: AN EBATES CASH REWARD CARD?
Ebates has come up with a new way to help you save, and it seems pretty darn cool. While I personally have not tried this Ebates Easter Egg, I’m definitely interested. If anyone does try it, please let me know in the comments! From what I can tell, this Visa Credit Card, which also works with Apple Pay, provides you:
An extra 3% cash back (on TOP of all of the normal cash back you usually get with Ebates)
1% Cash back wherever you can use your Visa card

HOW PAYMENT WORKS
All of your Ebates connected purchases are tracked through your “My Account” page on your profile. Ebates’ customer service is wonderful and will help you figure out any potential issues. (That being said, I personally have never experienced an issue with my account!) You are paid your cash back every quarter in the form of a “Big Fat Check” or through your connected Paypal account. I personally prefer Paypal–instantaneous, and no chance of a letter getting lost in the mail. Plus, it’s kind of fun when I see a new unexpected payment of over $30+ in my account four times a year.
So, have I convinced you that Ebates is everything your little consumerist heart has ever dreamed of? If so, click the little green button below to sign up through my exclusive link. You’ll earn $10 after your first $25 purchase and save like you’ve never saved before!

Course description:
Why Take this Class?
This course is the one I wish I had when I first taught myself to code.
I spent a year wading through coding exercises, programming books, and online tutorials. Similar to traditional education, I thought I had to learn everything from the ground up—first master the basics of HTML, then pick a programming language, then learn to build simple functionalities, then develop more advanced features.
But really, I just wanted to know how to build a website that does “___________” (fill in the blank with your own million dollar idea). When I finally finished building my first website, I realized I had been learning it all wrong for my purpose.
So if your goal is to master a programming language and become the ultimate software engineer, this may not be the course for you.
If, however, you’re looking for an effective way to rapidly implement your ideas on the web, you’re in the right place. Read on.
What You’ll be Learning
This course will take you through building an online marketplace similar to Etsy. You will learn to develop functionalities common to many websites including:
Upload product listings complete with prices, descriptions, and images Create user accounts and login to see personalized dashboards Implement powerful design features with CSS Accept credit card payments and initiate transfers to third-party bank accounts Secure your sensitive account data Deploy your website live
Along the way, we’ll learn to use the latest versions of popular technologies. We’ll be working with Ruby on Rails, as well as front-end tools like Twitter Bootstrap and CSS. We’ll touch upon databases with SQLite; APIs with Stripe; and even hosting platforms such as GitHub, Heroku, and Dropbox. The skills you’ll have learned will be valuable for building any idea.
About BaseRails
BaseRails is a video learning platform that teaches Ruby on Rails and other technologies through building real world projects. Our collection of project-based courses walk you through coding robust applications like Etsy and Yelp while covering the most relevant programming topics, APIs, and tools used by developers.
Whether you’re learning to code to become a web developer, or just looking to prototype your MVP, we believe working on projects is the most effective way to learn. Instead of being taught theory, you’ll learn by building working applications. You understand the big picture concepts before filling in the details. You learn to build apps the way developers do — one feature at a time. Most people feel demotivated when they take traditional programming classes, but with BaseRails, you’ll make rapid progress on your projects so you always stay engaged. Along the way, you learn in-demand tech skills through practice and solving problems with available resources, not through brute memorization. With a growing community of students who love our practical approach, we aim to become the leader of online, project-based learning for every subject.
Enroll on baserails.com for a free account.
Full details By the end of this course, you will be able to build a complete web app with the skills to apply your learnings to any idea. You will learn how to use Ruby 2 and Rails 4 to rapidly prototype your ideas. You will learn the basics of front-end web design with Bootstrap 3. You will learn how to work with APIs by using the Stripe API to implement payments. You will learn how to implement features such as user login, data validations, image uploads, order forms, seller dashboards, and purchase histories. You will learn how to navigate GitHub and Heroku. You will learn how to read documentation to install and setup open-source code.
Full details Anyone who is interested in learning to build websites.
Reviews:
“Very monotone and doesn’t seem very excited about what he is teaching. Lacking enthusiasm but is knowledgeable of the subject. Course content is also outdated by a couple of years.” (Bryan Dang)
“I have not completed this course yet but tempted to write this review mid way to the course. This is one heck of well aligned and easy to follow course. Alex should create more courses like this.” (N S)
“This originally looked like good practice, it is a great idea for project to build. However, course is a little outdated, teacher is not very responsive to comments or questions. Expect some troubleshooting by yourself. Second part of course it is a tutorial with less and less explanations each video.. The app built was left unfinished and with many bugs. Not something one can use for a reputable web app portfolio.” (Miguel Saldana)
About Instructor:
Alex Yang
Alex graduated from Harvard with a degree in Applied Math and spent two years at the Boston Consulting Group in New York. He was always interested in the tech space and eventually decided to quit his job to become an entrepreneur. He taught himself to code to prototype his business ideas, but the process of wading through coding exercises, one-off videos, and programming books was slow and ineffective. He created this course to save others the time and hassle he went through when learning to build web apps. Currently, he works on BaseRails and develops curriculum for Codecademy to teach little kids how to program.

I came up with this idea after pondering how I could offer my tarot card services to the masses (and improve my ability) without worrying about video calls, talking to people, or essentially “playing the part” of the fortune teller (I’m hardly Miss Cleo)
Thus, I combined my graphic design, collaging, Tarot reading and writing capability to make these (kinda adorable too) awesome Interactive Tarot Bundles that take your personalized spread of two to twelve cards in the universal format, laying them out on this interactive collage board for you too view them exactly as I drew them and my comprehensive interpretation / summary in a neat little booklet to boot, giving you the experience of having your cards read with the keepsake value of a diploma or certificate that you can look back on and reflect over the years.
They also make one of a kind, personalized and customized gifts for anyone who may be interested in having their cards read but the entire process seemed daunting or too flakey. I am offering all of these readings at a 30% discount from now until the end of December (2020) PLUS ANYONE who orders a reading during this time will be given the option to take a survey about their order and completing this survey will give you a special promo code that can be used on ANYTHING in my shop!
I welcome anyone interested to give any of my readings a try regardless of your past experiences with fortune telling and tarot and take advantage of this discount and survey coupon to give my new format a try- no commitment, no pay by the minute, no dry reading or filler, no BS. Check out this listing on my Etsy shop to order and feel free to DM me or contact me through Etsy if you have any questions about your reading or this new item / service ! I am only offering a limited amount of these readings / bundles at a time to insure the quality of each one. If you wish to order one of these options as a gift prior to Christmas, the deadline for your order is December 18th 2020 (standard shipping / first class)
