(Un)Requited -  I.L  IV
Summary: Isaac Lahey had gone through many twists and turns in his life, but none of them compared to the whiplash he got when you asked him to tutor you. With a few weeks until the end of the semester and the big dance coming up, heâs hoping to figure out a way to ask you to go with him before itâs too late.
Masterlist Prev. | Part 4
Word-count: 3.4k+
A/N: iâm still working on the last part of this fic so iâll probably only update again in a week or two!! sorry guys đ
Things between you and Isaac had been weird ever since he walked away from you that day on the lacrosse field. His jokes were delivered a little more awkwardly, your laughter was a few seconds shorter, and whenever it felt like the tension was starting to dissipate, your phone would light up and Stilesâ name would be on your screen. Isaac hated it.Â
He hated the anger he carried around in his chest all the time. He hated how jealous he was of Stiles. Most of all, he hated that his relationship with you was fucked because he couldnât get over a stupid crush. Sure, it was a crush heâd had since he was ten, but it was just a crush. He shouldnât have let it, for lack of a better word, crush him like this.Â
Isaac was busy shoving some books into his overpopulated locker when he felt a very familiar tap on his shoulder.Â
When he turned, you were beaming at him with such warmth and familiarity that Isaac forgot that things were weird between you for a second. âGuess what.â Your voice barely contained your excitement. Â
âGreenberg walked into a locker again?â Isaac asked, deliberately stalling to keep you around him a bit longer.
You laughed and shoved his arm playfully. âNo, silly.â You made the booklet of paper in your hands dance and pressed it into his hands. Your hands were cool to the touch. Probably guessing that he was paying more attention to the physical contact than whatever was on the paper, you pointed to the top  corner of the page and said, âLook!â
Isaac repressed a laugh but he still smiled at you before looking down at the paper. It was an algebra test with a B+ in big, red block letters and an extra credit assignment with a perfect score. âNo way!â Isaac grinned and pulled you into a hug. âSee, I told you that you could do it!â
Your arms wrapped around his waist and you laughed into his chest. Slowly, you looked up at him and tapped his chest lightly. âYeah, but I never could have done it without you,â you said. Â
For a moment, it was like the whole world slowed down, leaving you and Isaac alone in the quiet hallway. Isaac almost could have sworn your heart was beating as fast as his was, but that wouldnât make any sense. There was no reason for your heart to beat faster because of Isaac.
But Stiles showed up before Isaac had a chance to figure out why your heart was beating like that and you pulled away.Â
âHey.â He drew the word out in that annoying voice of his. Stiles was unusually easy-going considering that he hated Isaac and he was dating you, and the two of you had been tangled up not even a moment before. âWhat are we celebrating?âÂ
You'd pulled away from Isaac so that you were only holding onto him with one hand, just barely around his lower back, as you handed Stiles your test. âIâm almost an A student. You know, Iâm thinking of changing my career goals from trophy wife to mathematician.âÂ
âDonât sell yourself short. You could totally be a trophy wife and a mathematician,â Stiles said with an aggravating smile. He was so good at saying stuff like that that it drove Isaac up a wall.
You laughed and pretended to be offended as you grabbed your test back. You let go of Isaac to harass Stiles but you soon enough you were laughing and nestling yourself under Stilesâ arm. His fingers interlaced with yours easily as you said something equally charming and witty to him.Â
âYeah, yeah.â Stiles rolled his eyes and smiled at you. His thumb grazed yours as he tilted his head down, almost bumping his forehead into your head. âYou sure I canât convince you to grab lunch with me and Scott? We could ditch Scott.âÂ
You let out a self-conscious laugh and ducked your head. âAs tempting as that offer isâŠâ you untangled yourself from Stiles and took a step back from him. âIsaac and I have a date with some suits.â
Not that kind of date, Isaac reminded himself as he gave Stiles his best attempt at a friendly smile. Judging by Stilesâ reaction, it came out as more of a grimace.
âOh, uh, yeah.â Stiles scratched the side of his face. âCutting the dance prep a little short, arenât you?âÂ
Isaac straightened up and tried to get the venom out of his voice. âYeah, well, we had some unexpected interruptions. You donât mind though, right?â
âAbsolutely not,â Stiles said, not sounding defensive, exactly, but definitely not as easy-going as before. He looked over at you and squeezed your hand as he said something about catching up with you later.Â
You took a deep breath and ran your hand through your hair as Stiles disappeared into the sea of hormonal teenagers. âSo-â you stepped closer to Isaac and gave him a smile that didnât reach your eyes. âReady to go?â
If Isaac was honest, heâd tell you that the absolute last thing he ever wanted to do was go shopping for a suit that he didnât want to wear to a dance he didnât care about, but he couldnât be honest with you - not about his feelings, and not about this dance - because you were trying.Â
Isaac wanted to try, too. He really did, but Isaac's problem was that he wasnât as good as you. Then again no one was as good as you, but still. Isaac had to try or heâd lose you again.Â
âReady as Iâll ever be.â The closing of Isaacâs locker punctuated his lie better than his smiling grimace ever could.Â
If you noticed his bad mood - which might have been difficult considering how Isaac was almost always in a bad mood these days - you were nice enough not to mention it as the two of you made your way through the school to the parking lot. Instead, you told him more about your classes and how Greenberg did, in fact, walk into a locker earlier that day.Â
There was an anxious lilt to your voice as you talked about your English paper that Isaac didnât recognize. Sure, heâd seen you be nervous before tests and that first day in the hallway, but this was different. That had been unsure while this was second-guessing. That had been butterflies, and this was a sinking feeling.
Isaac couldnât wrap his head around what could have been making you anxious. You were happy about your grades, youâd been excited about your parents leaving you home alone so they could check on Alex for the weekend, and you had Stiles. With all that, plus the dance coming up, you shouldnât have been anxious.Â
And yet there you were, mumbling curse words under your breath when people cut you off on the road and hiding a frown behind a tight smile as you pulled into a parking space.
You killed the engine and sighed as you turned to Isaac. âHey, so Iâve gotta tell you something about Stiles-âÂ
âWhy are we outside a thrift store?â Isaac asked as he peered through the windscreen.Â
The store was cute. Bright sunflowers painted next to yellow letters that swirled together to spell âAnneâs Next to New Clothing and Trinkets.â A white table with a flower arrangement and some of the aforementioned trinkets. Through the window, Isaac could make out a little girl trying on about a dozen necklaces while her dad apologized to the person behind the counter. Cute, but it didnât make sense.Â
Isaac turned to look at you when he realized that heâd interrupted you and you probably thought he was the most self-absorbed idiot in the world. You were staring at him with wide eyes as if to prove his point.Â
âIâm sorry, I-âÂ
âNo, donât be sorry.â Your surprise melted into a nervous laugh and you dropped your gaze for a moment. When you looked back at him, your smile had softened into something smaller, something more genuine. âSince our mall trip ended so badly, I thought we could try something else.âÂ
Isaac gave you a lazy smile and nodded his head to the store. âSomething next to new?âÂ
You scrunched up your face and groaned, putting your face in your hands. âUgh, this was a dumb idea, wasnât it? We can leave. Give me a sec to pull out-âÂ
âNo. No, thatâs not what I meant-â Isaac reached over to grab your hands before he realized what he was doing. With one touch, it was like you erased the entire world that existed outside your car. It was just you, Isaac, and a whole bunch of electricity. âI just meant,â he said quietly, âthat it was really nice of you to do this for me. Iâm not really used to people doing nice things for me.â
âWell, get used to it because Iâm not going anywhere,â you told him. Your words were quiet but your smile was playful. âCome on.â You tilted your head to the door and pulled away.Â
Isaac tried to get his heart to beat normally again as your door clicked open and thumped close behind you. He took two deep, steady breaths, then shook his head and met you at the front of your car.Â
You rocked back and forth on your heels as you waited for him. With a nervous smile, you led Isaac inside. The bell chimed as you opened the door, ringing in Isaacâs head as you greeted the cashier, and Isaac went on the awkward defensive again. He ran his hands along the swaths of fabric as the two of you made your way through the store. Felt, polyester, cotton, and wool greeted his fingertips until Isaac stopped in the formalwear section.Â
Old dresses mixed with a bizarre assortment of wedding attire and four suits, two with three pieces and each a different color to the last. Isaac took his eyes off the suits to find you trying to hide your glances at him. Isaac didnât bother to hide his amusement at your secrecy.Â
âWhat?â You laughed when you caught Isaac waiting for you to steal another look at him. You tucked some hair behind your ear without thinking about it.Â
Isaac smiled, stifling another laugh. âI didnât say anything.âÂ
âNo, but you want to.â You looked at Isaac with an expression he couldnât place. Friendly, playful, but just as he tried putting a better word to it, you looked away. Turning your attention to a gray suit, you waved Isaac over. âWhat do you think of this one?âÂ
Isaac sighed as he made his way over and tilted his head to get a better look at the suit. âI mean, itâs not terrible,â Isaac said, running his hands up the lapel.Â
You laughed and bumped your arm into Isaacâs. âWell, high praise for this one aside,â you teased, âmaybe we should find something a notch above ânot terribleâ for the big night.â
âWhatever you say,â Isaac said with a smile. The one suit was a baby blue, which instantly struck it out of Isaacâs book and left him with two black options. Boring, yes, but thatâs what made them safe.Â
Nevertheless, you ushered Isaac into the changing room with his two boring suits and made him promise to take his time so you could try and pick something out for yourself. The thought of you waiting for him made Isaacâs stomach lurch, but he still promised to give each suit a fair chance.Â
The first suit was a slightly snug; not awful looking, but not the most comfortable. If Isaac was going to be wearing this thing all night in a crowd full of sweaty teenagers, then he was going to need something with a little more breathing room for his inevitable panic attack.Â
So, shoving away the thoughts of how ridiculous this whole thing was, Isaac changed into the other suit. The button-up was missing a few buttons but he could sew new ones with minimal effort. It fit better than the other one had and didnât cut off his air supply. Plus, the waistcoat somehow made him look less like a scrawny kid playing dress-up and more like someone who actually had it together.Â
Looking at himself in this suit, Isaac could imagine himself as the kind of guy youâd have feelings for. Not a guy like Stiles because that would make him throw up, but someone charming. Maybe even eloquent. The kind of guy that didnât live in his older brotherâs shadow or own three different copies of Persuasion (one was a library book he forgot to return, one had been his momâs, and the other just had a nicer cover than the rest).Â
In this suit, Isaac had a nicer cover than he usually did.
Realizing that heâd probably spent like five minutes just staring at himself and twisting one of the broken buttons, Isaac raced to get changed. He threw the suit to the side and jumped into his jeans and pulled on his baggy gray t-shirt. Isaac was in the process of pulling on his hoodie and forcing the suit back onto its hanger when he stepped out of the changing room and almost knocked you off your feet.Â
Reflexively, Isaac grabbed you to keep you from falling over. He stammered out several apologies as his heart exploded, but all you did was laugh.Â
âItâs okay, promise,â you said with a smile. You held onto Isaac as you got back to your feet. After several seconds of awkward silence, you asked, âSo did either of them come out ânot terrible?ââ
âUh, yeah.â Isaac held out the crumpled suit to you. âThis oneâs not so bad.âÂ
âNot so bad,â you echoed, taking the suit from Isaac and smoothing it out. âWeâll take it!â
Isaac couldnât help but laugh. You were adorable and very, very far out of his league. Still, he hung up the rejected suit and met you at the counter to pay.Â
He was so preoccupied with thoughts of accidentally injuring you that he didnât notice that youâd already bought something. When Isaac asked about it over celebratory frozen yogurt, all you said was that you needed something for the dance, too.Â
---
Isaac had never been someone with high hopes. Heâd given up on anticipating the future ever since he was thrown into a grave and turned into a werewolf; but, still, he found himself with some very unrealistic expectations of how the dance would go. Chief of which being that youâd ditch Stiles and confess your undying love to Isaac.Â
Actually, not âundyingâ love because the universe might take that as a sign to make you immortal or something, and that kind of information wasnât something Isaac thought he could recover from.Â
His other expectations, supernatural dilemma aside, were to get through the night without bleeding and to, maybe, hopefully, get to dance with you before leaving early.Â
Two very simple hopes that went unfilled.Â
First, Stiles was an asshole and hung around you the whole night. His presence made it impossible for Isaac to talk to you about anything other than the decorations and, if that wasnât annoying enough, Stiles barely even looked at you. You didnât mind and Erica didnât even seem to notice his staring, but Isaac noticed. Isaac minded.Â
Seeing as it was unlikely that any declaration of love, undying or not, was going to made with Stiles Fucking Stilinski jumping around like a kid on a sugar high, Isaac excused himself to get something to drink and maybe punch a wall. You seemed disappointed - not at the wall punching, because Isaac didnât mention that, but at his leaving. Still, you let him go with a smile nonetheless.
Isaac smiled, too. It felt like all heâd been doing the whole night was smiling, even when you gave him your sympathies about Erica not being his date. He was going to explain everything to you right then and there when Stiles had shown up with his stupid hair and frustrating jokes.Â
The punch had a sharp, bitter taste that wasnât there at the beginning of the night and Isaac pulled a face. His dislike of alcohol wasnât because he was worried about getting drunk (his supernatural metabolism made sure that was never a possibility), but because he just didnât like the taste. Thanks to his dad, heâd been around the stuff long enough for it to lose its appeal.Â
Dumping his glass in a potted plant, Isaac turned back to survey the gym. Heâd just spotted you in the crowd when Erica and Boyd materialized on either side of him. Erica grabbed his now empty cup and threw it to the side.Â
âHey!â Isaac whined.Â
âWe have to go,â she said in her black and blue voice. âDerek needs us.âÂ
Of course, he did. Heaven forbid Isaac had one night free from Hale drama. âRight now?â
âRight now,â Boyd repeated. âThe hunters are making their move and Derek says thereâs another wolf pack. He canât take them all by himself. Sorry, man.âÂ
Erica put her hands on Isaacâs shoulders and steered him towards the dance floor. âSo go tell your sweetheart that thereâs a family emergency and meet us outside, okay?â She shoved him into the floor before Isaac had the chance to argue.Â
Isaac wasnât sure where you came from, but you caught him before he landed on his ass, at least. Your face was full of concern as you helped Isaac stand back up and asked what was going on.Â
Casting a look over his shoulder, Isaac couldnât find Erica or Boyd. They were already on the move and Isaac didnât have time to explain everything. âIâve gotta go,â Isaac interrupted you. He let out a breath as he turned back to you. Then, with a painful smile, he added, âFamily emergency.â
âOh,â you said. You blinked hard as you thought of something else to say. âDo you need a ride?âÂ
âNo, Erica and Boyd are already outside,â Isaac said. It was hard for him to focus on you over the sound of the music and his beating heart. âI, uh- Iâve had a lot of fun with you these past few weeks. Thanks.âÂ
You nodded, looking down at your intertwined hands for a second. You gave his hands a squeeze. âMe too,â you said. âIâll see you on Monday?âÂ
âMonday,â Isaac lied with a bittersweet smile. He decided, since he was most likely going to be killed in the woods in seventeen minutes anyway, to do something that heâd never dreamed possible.Â
Letting go of your hands, Isaac stepped forward and kissed your cheek. He disappeared before you had the chance to say anything.Â
If the night had ended there, it wouldnât have mattered much that none of Isaacâs hopes had been met because at least heâd gotten to kiss your cheek. The problem was that, like most nights, it didnât end when Isaac wanted it to.Â
The night kept going, and Isaac got shot with arrows and electrocuted with arrows and mauled by some out of control werewolves. Heâd lost Erica and Boyd somewhere in the chaos and heâd never even found Derek to begin with. The night kept going, and Isaac was bloody and alone.Â
He couldnât go back to the loft, purely because he wasnât strong enough to make it there. He had no idea where the root cellar was. The night kept going, and Isaac was bleeding out with nowhere to turn.Â
Still, he ran.Â
Isaac had survived so much in his short time on this goddamn bitch of an earth, and he wasnât about to give up because his spleen had ruptured or because he had no idea where he was. No, Isaac ran because - despite everything - he wanted to live.Â
He ran and ran until he eventually found something familiar. Unluckily, it wasnât the hospital or the animal clinic but your house. Isaac would have kept running if he thought his leg could make it, but he knew they couldnât.Â
So, Isaac made the agonizing journey up to your front door. He rang the bell. Youâd just opened the door, and all Isaac managed to get out was: âI didnât know where else to go.âÂ
And then he collapsed.Â

98. How did you feel when you cast your first circle? Did you stumble or did it go smoothly?
I dont know if it counts as casting a circle? but i visualize a swirling white ball of energy, starting out like a strawberry size in my hands, and every time i breath in, it gets bigger. Its a protection circle. i learned to do it at like?? 3 years old?
99. Do you believe witchcraft gets easier with time and practice?
Yup!
100. Do you believe in many gods or one God with many faces?

Ive been trying to go vegetarian, and i eat minimal eggs and dairy.
102. What is your favorite color and why?
dark, smokey colors. grey, black, dark muted purples, navy, smoky pink.
103. What is the one question you get asked most by non-practitioners or non-pagans? How do you usually respond?
I dont have many people im even slightly into that stuff, let alone a witch. So usually just âhow do i cleanse my house? i think its hauntedâ type stuff
104. Which of your five senses would you say is your strongest?
Feel, haha, physically and emotionally.
105. What is a pagan or witchcraft rule that you preach but donât practice?

current mind-space//word vomit
itâs amazing how much can change in a few days, but it hasnât been a week since my finals ended and i already felt so different. i have been doing f45 everyday this week (if not then some kind of workout, but iâve really been into that recently). i am feeling so much better now without deadlines, sometimes i donât know if i function better under pressure or not. i guess not, but then itâs amazing how much i can do and achieve under pressure. i need the right amount of pressure, and this semester it has been a little difficult for me to get around that.Â
last friday was kinda my last day of finals, i just had an essay to submit, and i am disappointed in myself and my work ethic because i submitted it at 9pm, went to my cousinâs (disappointing) party, and then professor emailed me to say that she cannot read Pages format (seriously smh @ my tardiness!!!), only got back at 1am that night and sent my mediocre essay. i am a little sad about it because i know that is not my 100%. idk why but college so far has just been a series of 80% effort. this paper was an interesting one, on airbnb, on the sharing economy, itâs a performance studies paper where i analyze the hospitality platform in terms of host-user relationship, parasitism and (attempted) to talk about free online labor. it is a little too late now but i kinda want to work on it again and like, submit for feedback. maybe ill ask taylor.Â
last saturday was kinda meh, i agreed to go to a *social* kinda event at a bar/club at chelsea, held for Asian-ivy-alumni-people that yanlin invited me too. it was at up&up and honestly a little...i didnât enjoy it at all. the music sucked, the people were either too dorky or gross or old or weird, and the whole time i just kept saying to myself, ânever againâ. they said it was open bar but they only served absolut, which was shit. and then my friendâs two friends were...i feel sorry that this was their first clubbing experience. at the beginning my reaction was look at all these ivy alumni! get hitched with one of them for ~da connectsx~ (and nothing else) but no kidding i was actually interested in talking to them just to get to know what people who graduated from ivies are up to, and what are they doing at such events...and are they actually enjoying themselves because it was really kinda gross. met my friendâs friend who seemed like a really smart engineer (he asked for my number the next day lol), and a german dude at the bar who didnât want to get me a drink. all i needed that night was a drink.....(iâm glad i didnât drink tho because recently drinking has made me feel all kinds of bad) we had ramen after at ramen-ya (most probably the worst ramen and charsiew iâve had but what can we do at 3am and my friend wanted noodle and soup...)
on sunday i KNow i should have left my house earlier to workout but i didnât. i was angry at myself that i didnât. instead, i stayed at home and emotion-ate. i must have eaten more green bean soup than my stomach would have liked. what else...avocado? i remember..two bananas? god. this was the day i felt like i was nâs boyfriend because i had to do what she wanted to do. i know i had agreed on going, but at that point i really wanted to go thrifting or something. i mean when i got to central park it was fine and things were good but the whole day just felt like i was kinda pulled into doing something that wasnât my first choice of plans, not that i didnât enjoy myself lying under the sun at the park. it just felt like i was accompanying someone. i was half an hour late to meet her as well, and half heartedly got a burrito-wrap at newsbar. if you think about it it is really kinda funny, weâre just buying food and taking the subway to this grass patch 50 blocks away. we didnât walk much, we literally only stayed at a little grassy slope overlooking the baseball pitch. anyway we went to a dance class after (the class was an hour long but i felt like n had asked me about when and what time we should book the classes for more than an hour by text so i just got really sick of it) i rushed home and got dinner with my uncle whoâs in town for my cousinâs graduation. i was surprised that he chose the same japanese restaurant again, after dissing it half a year ago we ate here. the omakase was crazy and it cost 230 per person. (for the most expensive set) it was also kinda dumb because you arenât allowed to order a different omakase set from anyone else - everyone on the table has to order the same - because of âtimingâ. i wonder if this is how it is in japanese omakase etiquette, but in any case it really earned them a hefty amount because my uncle decided to get 230 for all of us. qiyang didnât like and said qiqi had bad taste, hahaha. the food wasnât bad, i mean itâs japanese fusion, but the prices were way too steep for the taste. anyway enough about the food, during the dinner i think we talked about many things though. i kinda wanted to talk to my uncle individually because i think he is the only one who knows about ah gong, but he was sick, and i could tell he was exhausted. my aunt got a little impatient because i didnât arrange plans to take their furniture and they were going to throw all of them away and it was actually the first time iâve seen her get so worked up - but at the same time trying to control her emotions - because she was talking to me. i could tell she was annoyed though but i tried not to take it personally, and arranged it tomorrow.Â
arranging the moving stuff was kinda last minute, i was walking to the library for work one day and i saw a truck that said MakeSpace. i assumed it was a kind of moving company and so i looked them up. they seemed to be pretty okay in terms of their services and so i decided to try them out. confirmation and setting up an appointment went pretty smoothly, except for the part where the guy i think his name was joseph, asked me to give my credit card details over the phone. idk why i did that! i stopped though, and asked him why, to which he replied he wanted to key in with the coupon code. this service has so much gimmicks within the first 2-3 minutes on the phone he was already telling me about how the first pick up is free, and that he will deduct 100$ off the first month...when people give you discounts too easily it just feels like a ploy and a thing they give to everyone, itâs not anything special and itâs probably calculated inside whatever we have to pay. anyway, i was just thinking it would be cheaper (assuming the maximum that i would have to pay is ~$500, as i confirmed with them on the phone yesterday), itâd still be cheaper than starting an apartment lease now and going through the trouble of finding two subletters.Â
well. idk, itâs also easy to have things all moved in, i have to find a place to store my perishables!
moving is so much work, and storing things. this reminds me of my paper on airbnb and about the digital nomad lifestyle. it is interesting though, that this is what it has become. but the homogenized aesthetic is something i really cannot stand, in airbnb, in coffeeshops around the world..i am sure you know what iâm talking about. a new york times writer did something about this - he termed it âAirspaceâ - and apparently it originated from Brooklyn. I guess thatâs where the art/avant-garde stuff started. well. keep a look out im gonna write a blogpost about thatÂ
moving onÂ
nat came to sleepover on sunday night and a few days after because the school kicks you out of the dorms you pay so much for right after your final ends. i forgot if we did something fun but i probably just fell asleep.Â
on monday i think i went to f45 and did cardio at Dumbo with Gi. he seems like a pretty nice trainer, the first time i went it was him and another girl Bertha (i think my first f45 was last tuesday) and i felt like i had two personal trainers with me - Gi was cheering me on and Bertha was doing it with me. it felt like such a good workout, one of the best ive had in a while. then work, where i arranged the movers stuff. i also realized i bought the wrong date for my flight ticket as my friends and had to buy one more...............
tuesday was the same f45 in the morning, and the bobst after. didnât really get much work done at bobst. oh i also viewed a 3BR flex at 160. hella expensive and small, and dates didnât work out anyway. also the broker who brought us to view the apartment was a very nice tall french man and his name was jean-francois which i couldnât pronounce and asked nat but still called him jean as in jeen instead of john. this is why i have to learn french. youâre embarrassing. i also went to the itp/ima spring show with shubham which was super cool. there were many cool ideas, and i just wonder if i could create something like that. i didnât get to see all of the exhibits which i regret, but i remember a few notable projects. one was an installation made with keyboards that randomly clicks, but when you hold your phone up itâll stop. itâs made using 3d gestures. thereâs also one at a gallery for surveillance, this team had a thing they call facebox, and itâs literally a box, that when you open it has a webcam that would capture your face, find you on facebook, and print out an invoice/receipt on how much you have earned for this giant tech company. what else...an AR project that when you scan a food, it shows you where the food comes from. nat said that she would love it if menus have something they could scan and then have pictures appear in ~holographic~ format, or maybe in the nearer future something on your phone that shows you a picture of the picture of the food. but isnât it a surprise tho? sometimes the funâs in the surprise, you read the description, you know what are the foods youâll eat, leaving room to imagine or be surprised by how the chef puts it together! anyway, went for dinner with nat and jenny - got vegan shwarma (definitely wasnât worth $14) and went to get crepes with will after.Â
wednesday we were gonna go to the dmv but we werenât prepared. nat also needed to get her passport and she was lazy. wow the number of times i mentioned her, it feels like sheâs my boyfriend at this point. talked to famz, sister, and beatrix. am currently considering if i should even go to beijing or just go straight home. fuck. went to bobst for work but no one was there i was just really sleepy. viewed an apartment at 55 morton (itâs a nice quiet residential street that seems to be tucked away from the loud cars and bars and people) then i went to f45 again-varsity!!! cardio!!!, walked across brooklyn bridge (a little regret although i wanted to walk, but my bag was heavy and there were too many tourists to brisk walk)Â
also the reason for this is that after my soba/miso/salad/shrimp dinner last night i was just watching a bunch of netflix shows and it was probably the caffeine from puerto rican roasting company - the barista made me a chai cappuccino with almond milk (3 SHOTS!!!)
me and nat couldnât sleep, i really think i slept for an hour. i watched so many different shows, yoko and johnâs documentary, while we were young, anthony bourdain, i was seriously flipping through all the shows and alternating between amazonprme and youtube and netflix and i even tried watching peaceful cuisine and making the brightness lower and had the sleep mode on and wow i just couldnât sleep
so yeah the birth of this word vomitÂ
i am going to create more things

300 Fox Way- The Raven Cycle
.300 Fox Way is a bed and breakfast.
Gansey and friends visits when he drops over at Henrietta for summer.
Blue is intrigued.
300 Fox Way was always full of people.
There was always someone everywhere.
Blue was just a front desk person.
Maura was someone who made sure everything was working right.
Persephone was the one who cleaned up rooms.
Calla set up every item that is needed for guests.
Orla and Jimi were the ones who settled the kitchen.
And there she was.
The desk clerk.
As Blue stared at the screen of her computer disinterestedly, the bell over the door rang, signifying a new guest.
âHello,welcome to 300 Fox Way:bed and breakfast.How may I help you?â
The ingrained saying tumbled out of Blueâs mouth as she stared up at the new guest-wait no,guests.
There was the one at the front. He was wearing some sunglasses and a slightly large white button down with some champagne colored pants. His suitcase looked like leather and his shoes made Blue stifle a laugh. He was wearing dark brown Top Siders. This ma-boy looked so much older just based on his outfit.
The one on his left slightly scared Blue.He had a completely shaved head and was wearing a black jacket over a black tank.Uninspired,Blue thought originally until she caught a glimpse of a tattoo peaking out of the tank.He had an expensive black luggage.Blueâs impression of him was just the sign that stated DONâT PROVOKE.PRONE TO VIOLENCE.
The one beside him looked much tamer. He had dusty brown hair and blue eyes.He wore a Coca-Cola t-shirt and was holding the scary oneâs hand.It seemed to calm the scary one down.Blue thought it was the cutest thing she had ever seen.
The one on Top Sidersâ right was a boy.He looked older than the rest, but not by that much.He looked smudgy and wore clothes that made him smaller than he was.He had an expression of his face that always seemed like a half-smile,as if he had seen something happy in front of him,but was being reminded that that could never be him.
    Immediately,Blue was intrigued.
Mr Top Siders sidled up to Blueâs desk.Blue felt a shield build up around her.She never wanted to date guests, because the women at 300 Fox Way had so many horror stories of them dating guests, infamously Butternut,Blueâs father. He had stayed behind a bit when Maura became pregnant, but had to leave because of work.
âHow many rooms do you have?â Top Siders asked.Blue replied four and he booked two. Before Blue could ask,he said âWeâre staying the whole summer.â
    Blue sputtered.
The whole summer? No one had stayed that long, except for that guy who stayed for two months after he got divorced.âIâm Gansey, the two holding hands back there is Adam and Ronan and the smudgy one is Noah.â
âOkay,Gansey,â she said, testing the name in her mouth.âHereâs your keys, payment is seventy dollars every two days and donât go in the basement.â
âWhatâs in the basement?â he asked.
âUs.Now go.â She moved her hand, gesturing them away.
Most of the boys left, but Gansey hanged behind.
    âI never caught your name.â
Blue groaned as quietly as she could.
    âBlue.Blue Sargent.Now go.â
He smiled a very obnoxious smile.
    âSee you around,Blue Sargent.â
That afternoon,as Blue looked at her summer reading list with her yoghurt beside her and as Maura and Calla did taxes,Gansey came to her desk and being too damn polite, did not ring the bell and waited for Blue.âWhat?â
âMy friends wanted to eat,so are there any good food places in Henrietta?â Blue groaned. As the sound entered Maura and Callaâs ears, they shot her an evil glare. When she started working, they made sure that she did not display rudeness or an unwillingness to help people.Knowing she would be in a lecture later if she did not,she stood up and said âIâll bring you to Ninoâs.â
Gansey smiled.Blue wanted to punch him.
She grabbed the keys from the hook in the kitchen. âIâm using the car.â Maura did a gesture Blue did a lot, shooing her away. She stepped out of the door, realizing four boys were walking behind her just when she was about to close the door.
âReady?â She glanced back, trying to seem cool, but the scary one did not seem fazed. But Gansey just looked excited. Her heart softened but then she remembered herself.
They went into the car, drove to Ninoâs and had an amazing snack/dinner. She learnt Adam wanted to be someone who wanted to be more.Ronan wanted to take care of his family, where his mother was quite sick, his older brother was the worst (All the curse words he used were removed.) and his little brother was the nicest human.
Gansey went against all she thought.
He used this summer to drag his friends on a joy ride (Blue snorted. Typical, she thought.) to find interesting places with amazing myths.Apparently,Henrietta had a lot of myths about Welsh kings. She was enraptured by Gansey until Ronan stated that he was allergic to wasps.
    âThanks,Ronan.â he grumbled.
Then came Blue. She talked about her family. How the ladies at 300 Fox Way was here family. How she liked making clothes, but she was applying to study abroad to study animals. She felt slightly smaller compared to the others but Gansey said what she wanted to be was quite cool.
   âThanks.â She replied.
    âGet a room.â Ronan called.
âThatâs what I did for you guys! You guys are so noisy whe-â
âAhhhh,â Blue plugged her ears. âI donât want to hear this.â
And thus, after one more pizza, they slowly became friends.
Blue brought them around Henrietta.Well, understatement,Ronan replaced her after a week as her driving was âAs slow as a snail grandma,Sargent.â His leg hurt a bit after he said that.
They saw all the weird road attractions and the nice flowers and Jesse Dittleyâs farm. They saw all the malls and the thrift stores and the library. It was great.
But summer was rapidly running out.
As the months run out,Blue would stay awake from thinking about what would happen to her Raven boys. What would happen to Adam who was finally getting a break from all the terribleness,Ronan who was getting time with Adam and getting away from terrible people and Gansey.
Gansey and his myths and vocabulary and his experience and his everything.
Blue wanted to be part of his everything.
As she would lie awake, she would climb downstairs and see Gansey talking to Orla.Blue would talk to him over a cup of one of the womenâs (most likely Persephone) tea to help her sleep. They would walk outside to the backyard and Blue would show Gansey stars and ask him if he could tell her the story behind them.
The sun would peak out after what seemed like a few minutes to them and they would walk inside.Gansey would pick a flower from the porch and give it to Blue.It always made her blush.
When she went back to bed,she would sleep, reliving the night.
Then they would wake up,ready to hang with Noah,Adam and Ronan.
As the last week approached,Blue went out of bed after Maura tucked her in and as she rushed downstairs, she grabbed her keys and picked up Gansey from the dining table.
Gansey drove and the ride was silent. He stopped in an empty field. He opened the door for Blue and they leaned on the car as they watched the stars move.
âBlue.â The name was just a statement. It was not a call or a whisper.Blue looked at Gansey. She could not have possibly compare to any other girl that Gansey could pick up.Before she could even say a word,Gansey cupped her cheek and put his lips to hers.
When they broke apart, they wore smiles. The first word that Blue said after it was âFinally.â Gansey broke out in a laugh. They drove home talking about the most random things and getting food.
As they started to pack up,Blue exchanged numbers with everyone.
Blue and Gansey promised to keep in touch as a long-distance relationship.Noah and Adam whooped,Ronan clapped and Maura,Calla and Persephone were just flabbergasted.Blue made Adam promise to invite her to their wedding.Ronan said he could not make promises,Adam whispered covertly that he would.
      When they left,Blue felt sad.
She could not wait at all to see them again.
                                                  -END-
