Update on Chester!

It’s been a little over a year since we brought him home. He is currently snuggling at my feet on his favorite blanket. He is fat and so happy.

He has the biggest personality I have ever met in any cat. His favorite things are gentle forehead scritches, harassing the dog, and supervising his humans at all times. He is my alarm clock and he reminds me when it is bedtime— best boss I’ve ever had.

my controversial advice is that if you’re thinking about stealing somebody’s neglected outdoor cat, just do it. not saying finder’s keepers on all cats, just cats you know aren’t working cats and are actively being mistreated.

when I was a teenager, my neighbor had this teeny tiny unspayed tortie named Olive that she kept as outdoor cat in a busy suburban neighborhood and Olive would often come to my door asking for food and affection and to get out of the cold. I even asked my neighbor “hey, do you even want this cat?” and she looked at me like I was crazy and said yes. Olive is, unsurprisingly, no longer alive and I really wish I had just taken her collar off and stolen her.
