Aaaaaaa the babies!! The kaiserlings!!! I always love it when people bring up the fact that vk is a teacher and have him interact with his students and stuff, and they seem to like him as a teacher!

Okay so I'm gonna talk about something real quick, it feels like ALL of the promotional media for punch out wii mentions gt's gem. Did they think the fight would be to hard if you didn't know about his tell? Why did they keep bringing this up?? Also he's really pretty and I like the way they draw his little clone thing and mac is here too and his confused little face is funny. (also does anyone know what he's saying in the first panel i really wanna know)

I really like this one but I always thought that the blatant use of his official art is a little jarring lol. But yeah I love how much of an absolute pimp he is here and also how his ass GETS GOT at the end and ALSO how he talks to the audience and references the game itself, that's WILD! Sadly I'll have to dock a few points for a lack of Carmen :'(

Ayyyyyyyy my main man Soda Popinski!! I'm also not gonna talk about this one too much because the ending is. Not for me. It's for someone though! Anyways yeas I really like the portrait on the first panel and also this was a thing with Joe's comic but he also has an unnamed coach so that's neat. Also Popinski is kind of an inconsiderate asshole so that's fun lol

I love how the first panel has him being all intimidating and scary but every panel after that is just him being harassed. LET HIM LIVE, FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!!!! However much he beat the shit out of the guy in the last panel was completely deserved, paparazzi are parasites <3

HUMMINA HUMMINA, AWOOOOOGA!!!! But in all seriousness the art (NOT MACHO MAN'S ASS >:/) is just wonderful, the colors and shapes and the text bubbles and hears and stuff AAAAHH it is beautiful!! This might unfortunately be my favorite of the comics actually. (also the spotlight and his shy little pose at the end is cute i will admit)

I friggin love sandman yall, I also love how it shows all the other boxers and stuff. Also what kind of asshole challenges a guy in boxing gloves to rock paper scissors? Sandman was completely justified tbh. Although I will admit I wish they added SOMETHING to his character, but I guess they didn't add much to anyone else either so it's whatever

Each chapter is made by a different author, this is a big collaboration! So there are many different art styles ʕ⁠ ⁠º⁠ ⁠ᴥ⁠ ⁠º⁠ʔ

Each character on the cover gets 2 chapters, but there is also an addition of Tokoyami and Dabi, who each get 1 chapter

As you can see it starts off with Deku looking at you (the reader) and the series is seen through "your" perspective

It's implied the reader is female, and some chapters even show a partial body (most keep it vague though, mainly showing just hands)

"You" never directly speak in the book, it's sort of what Dora does where she asks a question, waits while looking at you, then answers for you. Sort of like: (Character - What do you want to eat?) They look forward, directly at you, the reader (Character - That sounds good! I'll have that as well!)

This book reminds me of those anime dating Sims ⁠(⁠๑⁠¯⁠◡⁠¯⁠๑⁠)

Glimpse of Bakugo's chapter

Todoroki's chapter (he looked really off in this book, but in the second they seemed to get a good idea of how to draw him so he looks more like he does in canon)

Iida's chapter is where you see more of "you", and the few panels across the book that do (about less than 3 so not many) hide the head in the speech bubble

Kirishima was very interactive with the reader in this entire chapter, it was very cute ⁠(⁠￣⁠︶⁠￣⁠)

Glimpse of Denki's chapter

It's out of order but moving on from Iida's chapter earlier is Shinso! My favorite guy! (⁠≧⁠▽⁠≦⁠) (Ignore the Iida panel - it looks bad out of context but this book is extremely fluffy and cheesy)

Shinso's text states that he wears plain clothing to dates in order to make the girl stand out since he knows girls put lots of effort into their outfits - however he said that he does like to wear accessories like a watch or something every now and then (´▽｀)

You see a little more of "you" in here

I just thought these pages were funny, plus you get to see more of the reader in this one (very rarely shown, only in Iida and Shinso's chapters - otherwise it's just hands from your perspective that actually interact with the characters)

This was funny too ("you" want to walk home with him, he says no because he runs to and from school to train. He says a couple times it's because 'he's not strong enough', the last panel is him roughly saying "You've got a bicycle?!)

The image under it is an event the authors did - apparently when making the book they'd have the audience comment as to what they wanted the characters to be drawn wearing, and the top comment would win. Apparently to the audience, Shinso is the type to still wear clothes with the tags on lol

Tokoyami! A very short chapter since he wasn't one of the main characters shown on the cover O.O

The lovely Aizawa! This first chapter has him sick, "you" come by to drop off some papers he needs to grade, sees that he's sick, then "you" barge in and have him rest while you take care of him (he's only stubborn because he sees being taken care of as "irrational")

My personal favorite chapter (●'◡'●)

This chapter was written by the only man in the group of talented authors that collaborated by the way (oﾟvﾟ)ノ

The next Aizawa chapter has a jarringly different art style! Probably the strongest contrast in collaborators in this book (minus Todoroki's)

Essentially in this chapter "you" and him go on a date, he arrives 10 minutes early, and "you" ask him why he has that big satchel - it's his capture scarf ("you" call him a workaholic)

The date in question was just helping him pick out a pair of glasses to wear that'd prevent his eyes from straining too hard since he's always using his computer to work on papers or grade assignments

It's cute though, because he says something to the effect that if he could do whatever he could to boost his efficiency, then he'd do it because he only wants to benefit his colleagues and students

That last panel was him complaining about his bangs, so "you" pin them back, then he jokes that if his coworkers saw him like that then they'd laugh at him

After that is a Present Mic cameo! Apparently the top comment wasn't even for Aizawa (ˉ▽ˉ；)...

The top comment was for Mic to be drawn with braided hair! Off topic but I love this artist's icon at the top (^.^)

Last chapters are for All Might! I really liked this perspective in particular, it's very immersive o(^▽^)o

Whoever made this chapter is number 1 out of all the authors when it comes to reader immersion, I'm not the biggest fan of AM x Reader but as someone who hopes to draw manga one day I really appreciate the effort they put into this one (��´◡`❁)

I like your Viltrumite OC and her dynamic with Conquest. They remind me of that meme where a cute girl ordered a beer and a tough guy ordered a sweet drink but the waiter gets their drinks mixed up so they have to switch them back.

I'm pretty sure you mean Yuki, right? Cuz the only time I've drawn Mercy (my only Viltrumite OC) with Conquest was when they were beating the shit outta each other, lol. I wondered why you assumed Yuki was Viltrumite, until I looked back at that drawing of her with Conquest and realized the overlay I put on top of it made her outfit very grey-and-white. Oops! A little bit of Yuki rambling below the cut if you're interested (:

She's not a Viltrumite! She's human, born and raised on Earth. Yuki is one of those OCs where I put her into every AU and every fandom I can feasibly stick her into, lol, so if you look at my Yuki tag then you'll see a loooot of different variations of her. She's usually a good person in every world bc "sunshine and optimism" is like the core of her character in every fandom, but in Invincible I decided I wanted her to be more neutral/self serving instead (: I've got Mercy to be the good OC who wants to protect people, now Yuki gets to be mischievous and work with the bad guys because they're fun company

She's my OC where I just decided that I can do whatever tf I want, so she's an OP mary sue that wins every fight and everyone fears/respects her and all that. Probably the main reason I don't post about her a lot, I know stuff like that isn't always that well received on tumblr. But I don't care that much, it's my art blog and I get to post my super self indulgent OC doodles if I want to..

Her basic lore in the Invincible-verse is that she's immortal and has been around for a few centuries (I haven't decided exactly how long, just at least 300 years or so). She can't come back from the dead like The Immortal can, she just has a healing factor so strong that it's incredibly difficult to do enough damage to actually kill her before she's already healed from it. She can teleport, and mainly uses her dual swords to fight with. I justify her being OP as hell with the fact that she basically doesn't interact with the main plotline, like, at all. She interacts with the characters, but she doesn't really get herself involved with what's going on in the world. She's just goofin off in the background

She basically just pops up out of nowhere, messes around with people, says some cryptic shit that nobody understands at the time but will look back on later and go "ohhh", and then disappears again. Silly jester of a woman that doesn't want to work for any organization because she has no respect for the law or governments, so she's willing to break the rules to do what she wants to do. Sometimes she works with criminals, sometimes she allies with the GDA, but most of the time she's considered an eccentric but unknowable entity.

I just really like the idea of her scaring the shit out of people by popping up behind them at random. The Guardians tell her to get out of their base in Utah but she's like "wait I want one of those donuts" and they just can't catch her. They stopped trying to kick her out years ago. She's kicking her legs up on Cecil's office desk and he just sucks it up bc he wants her help on a mission or something. Silly things like that (:

I like the idea of her hanging out with Conquest, because they're both very lonely people. Yuki, like Immortal, decided a long time ago to not get too close to other people because they both know they're going to outlive them all. So she has a very friendly and approachable personality, sure, but she keeps an emotional distance from everyone. Kinda pissing people off by always cracking jokes and never being able to have a serious conversation about anything. I think her and Conquest would have met before he came to Earth, idk how, I have yet to decide on that other than the fact that Yuki proooobably has gone to other planets before (somehow). I just want him to show up on Earth in season 3 to do his job and he sees her again and goes "what the hell. how are you here" and shes like "huh? this is my planet? what are you doing here?" spider-man pointing meme style

she's really just a daydream-only OC in her Invincible AU because I don't have any intentions of making set lore for her, I just do whatever is fun in the moment. and right now what's most fun is her pestering Conquest but he thinks it's funny and they both get some companionship for a little while

Hey I’m baaaaackkk! I’m on season five of The Magnus Archives now whoops! Uhm yeah it’s been quite a lot but here are my thoughts because Jesus Christ there are many. First of all Season four Recap:

#1)Peter Lukas is fucking dead and honestly I’m a bit sad. I think it’s hilarious that the entire thing with Martin literally boiled down to a bet between him and Elias. Also they were so gay like is anyone in this show straight???? lol I loved their little lover’s quarrel it’s so cute these old men(eldritch horrors) are so funny.

#2) SIMON FUCKING FAIRCHILD IS MY FAVORITE PERSON EVER! He basically slipped and fell into being an avatar(quite fitting I suppose) and he’s just a rad old man. Like all the stories about him made him seem so silly and then we met him and he was lol. ALSO MICHAEL CREW IS DEAD AND I WANT TO KILL DAISY FOR IT! AGH I LIKED THE GUY! This is why we can’t have nice things, fucking Daisy always ruins them.

#3) Continuing the topic of Daisy I do actually like her(except for her bullshit with abusing her position as a police officer). She’s one of the only people in the series that genuinely seemed to be trying to get better. Although it was all in vain she did end up being a pretty cool wolf dog thingy so that’s neat I guess. Meanwhile Basira doesn’t want to put up with this shit anymore. She hated it the second she got stuck. I think she’s simultaneously my favorite and least favorite character, but then again I feel that way about basically everybody in this story. Moral ambiguity is basically the entire podcast’s premise at this point. The point is Daisy has been a lost cause from the start and Basira is badass and deserves so much better than all of this.

#4) I love Martin so so much actually he’s grown so much and I adore him. I want to put him in a jar and shake him. Boi stood up for himself and just said “No” . Bro did not care he just knew he wasn’t letting Peter win. What a legend gotta love him.

#5)Small blurb about Melanie because I love her. She’s blind now but that’s alright because SHES DATING GEORGIE HEHE YAAAAYYY!!! I think it’s awesome and it’s just fitting that she gets her happy ending yk cause she spent her whole life fighting and now she has peace. I adore her and Georgie. BRO GEORGIE?? She’s AMAZING like she is genuinely such a great person and is just looking out for people and also keeping herself intact like what a queen. Slay.

#6) Okay fine I guess I’ll talk about Jon lol, he’s still definitely my favorite(although Martin is not far behind) and I adore the writing of his descent into an actual avatar of the eye. Also hehehehe he killed Peter Lukas and ventured right into the lonely just get Martin! Ah! I love love! That’s so sweet I’m actually still giddy about them. Martin is so soft with Jon and now Jon is really trying to make up for the past and the time lost. And I guess yeah he got tricked into starting the apocalypse but like does it matter? Everyone else he knows is dead or dying bro it’s really not that upsetting at this point. Except for fucking MELANIE AND GEORGIE AGH I genuinely NEED them to be okay. Like gosh just stay inside babies you’ll be fine. Anyways the apocalypse is so fun and I’m drawing it

P.s. I’m sorry I’ve been away. My partner got me into Arcane and it turned into a full blown hyper-fixation so hehe. I will be posting the art of that too at some point but I also hope I’ll update more often as I listen to season five. Also this podcast has consumed my life so much that my partner just changed their name to Martyn because they were yk in the market for a new one and I suggested it soooo ha I feel slightly crazy lol

Eyes of the SEES members ~

I’ve always admired artstyles where every character has super unique and recognizable vibes, so decided to try it with the gang. Super fun, highly recommend!

In the process of designing these I developed headcanons for each of their eyes, kind weird but if you want to read me ranting about why I drew Yukaris pupils a certain way or whatever, feel free to click read more lol.

Makoto: I wanted him to look tired, so a lot of his eyelashes go downward instead of upwards, also eye bags because he has insomnia and you can’t convince me otherwise. I didn’t want his eyes to look hollow/empty, but I didn’t want to put super obvious highlights and I think it works? Idk. Also drew his eyes in a way that reminds me of the ocean at night (Atlus gave me a ocean/water motif and I run with it ok?). His eyebrows are kinda “messy” in comparison to the others but I think it makes his eyes prettier so it is in character to me.

Yukari: I wanted her eyes to look a little more intense and turned them a little to give them a slightly “angry look”. Yukari should have a light case of rbf imo. I feel like Yukari puts a lot of effort into her appearance, and she probably wears more makeup but I cannot draw that to save my life lmao. Her eyebrows are probably the least messy other than Mitsurus, for the same reason as the previous one. Also hard to tell, but I put hearts in her pupils because it’s cute. Really proud of these ones, they read like hers so well to me.

Junpei: Junpeis eyes were so fun to draw! I feel like he’d have pretty short lashes and slightly smaller eyes, but still very vibrant! I really wanted his eyes to look full of life but still pretty simple, and I think I did pretty well! They feel very expressive to me. Also I feel like he’d have naturally very thin eyebrows, so gave him that lol.

Akihiko: idk how I feel about these, but I guess they’re alright? Gave him a kinda intense stare ig. I gave him really long natural eyelashes because I feel like he’d have them (canonical pretty boy that he is) and I’m somewhat proud of them because I stuggle with making longer eyelashes look masculine so guess this is a win. Gave him an eyebrow slit because I was so sure he had one in p4arena only to find out he didn’t even have eyebrows in it. What.

Fuuka: I feel like Fuukas neutral expression would still look slightly confused/concerns so her eyes are a little droopy. Gave her short but thick eyebrows because I thought it would be cute. Her eyes kinda remind me of rain and I like that! Also sidenote love the fact that official art draws fuuka with teal eyebrows. The implication that she was either born with teal hair or is so dedicated to the dye job she even dyed her eyebrows is hilarious to me. I know blue is treated as a normal hair color in persona-universe but Fuuka is literally the only one with teal hair how is it not dyed but yosuke and chies is??

Mitsuru: I wanted Mitsuru to be pretty. I gave her thinner but crisp eyebrows and eyeliner. I was a little worried because before I started shading her eyes looked kinda evil?? Lol but they turned out better in the end. Didn’t do a lot of details in her eyes because it felt like it worked better that way, but gave her bright highlights in her eyes to make up for it.

Aigis: These are my least favorite, and the first ones I did. Not sure if thats awful, because I wanted them to be very different from the rest. I feel like Aigis doesn’t actually have this wide eyes but willingly widens them so you can see the whole iris. I feel like her eyes would look more normal at a distance, and most of her classmates just assume she’s got weird eyes because they’re an uncommon eye color (major “give her brown contacts please” energy). Made her eyes look like does target-thingys and slightly plastic-y.

Ken: I didn’t want his eyes to be to bright, but still lively and childish. I gave him round wide eyes + smaller and thicker eyebrows to give a more childish feel. His eyelashes are pretty short but made them point more downwards since they looked too cheerful when turned upwards.

Shinjiro: dunno how readable these are as shinji, but theyre fine. Made his eyes very dark and put bright highlights cause I thought it looked better than the grey he actually has. Also gave him major eyebags because man has not had a good nights rest since like. Last October (sorry)

✶ during painting sessions, it definitely gets messy — really messy, he’ll likely whip paint on you, it could either be your clothes, face.. he’s likely to accidentally to put some into your hair.. however the hell that happens, he just use that opportunity to make a mess and become a competitive.

I've got WarioWare brainrot lately rewatching clips and playthroughs and getting excited to dress up this Halloween and I'm like I gotta DO something with this 👀 so I decided to revamp and make a more proper reference for my WarioWare self insert!

and it's...not Sirela???

soooo... long story short, I don't really feel like Sirela fits as a WarioWare self insert anymore...mostly because I originally made her for the Marioverse, and I only shifted her over because I had just recently added Orbulon to the f/o list and needed someone to pair with him, and I...didn't have any other ideas at the time gkdhg but now I do! the idea is ME cause I love the funky lil alien dude! So here she is!! :D ...Here I am...?? ...THIS GUY ��🏻 (also I tried to imitate the look of the character bios from Mega Party Game$ and it's not 1:1 but I think I still did pretty well considering I made it all from scratch kjdsfhg)

little backstory under the cut~

Cici is an aspiring artist who specifically wants a career in video game design! She heard that Diamond City and the surrounding area was fairly diverse and rich in culture, and figured it would be a perfect place to try and land a job somewhere in the art field…or at least peddle some of her own drawings to the artsy-fartsy people living there for a quick buck.

For a while, she's able to find part time jobs to make ends meet, but nothing that lets her express her creativity like she wants… Until she hears about WarioWare Inc., which happens to be URGENTLY AND DESPERATELY hiring game designers regardless of experience or…any other qualification really. Kinda shady…but she still seizes this golden opportunity to finally get a real head-start in her career, unaware that she will…probably not be getting much of the gold she needs from this establishment (or any at all kdjfg).

As she's home working late one night on concept art, trying to meet a deadline from her new boss, she hears a BOOM! just outside her house. When she goes outside to investigate she finds that a certain alien has crashed his ship in her yard (what else is new?) and after making sure he's okay, she urges him to stay at her house at least for the night - it's dark out and the weather's getting colder lately, certainly not ideal conditions for him to start making repairs... Delighted by her generosity, he accepts the invitation, and it's over a warm and sweet cup of cocoa that they learn they're both working for the same guy right now! What are the odds?

It's also when she learns that her boss has a…less than reputable track record of getting people to do his work and getting away with not paying them djfgsf. And while that definitely sucks, she's at least getting to do the kind of work she always wanted to, so it's still a win in her book!

And so I…haven't thought much beyond that actually dkjfg. I'd imagine it's through working for Wario (at least partly) that she and Orbulon spend more time together after their initial meeting. I think maybe he'd enjoy coming back to her house every so often, even after he's fixed up the Oinker, because he just finds her interesting as a human. She's actually happy doing her job for dirt pay, she's always got weird (to him dkfjg) and delicious snacks at her place…and to top off his intrigue, she's sort of fascinated by him too - after all, she's hanging out with an actual hyper-intelligent alien! 👀 (and it doesn't hurt that he's cute and weirdly charming to boot kdjfg)

Propaganda post about my fave medias time! [#1]

Hiiii, I just wanna talk about and recommend some things I like on my blog here! I don't always draw fanart for everything that I like and find inspiring, but I like sharing what I feel are gems with others. (the gifs im adding arent mine)

I've got a small handful of movies that involve animals and a predator+prey relationship, with plenty of cute moments mixed with heart-aching moments. They're all animated kids movies with the potential to hit pretty hard. There's something tragic to the way each movie acknowledges nature and has a character try and fight the standard order of things.

One Stormy Night

Over time, this one has become my favorite of these. This movie can provide such an unexpected comfort with how it approaches friendship as something that can transcend all else, and not need any complex reason to exist. It centers around a friendship between a wolf and goat, from how they first become friends and into how they have to fight to keep their friendship. The art style and protagonists are adorable and goofy, maintaining a delightful levity and earnestness throughout the whole movie. There is still plenty of drama surrounding their romeo-and-juliet-type relationship, and the lengths these characters go to to be friends is captivating. I rewatch this movie every now and then and it still manages to make me cry through it's earnestness and the truths it speaks to.

You are Umasou

The art style for this is extremely bright, unrealistic, cartoony, and adorable. The story is similarly cartoony, and yet it hits on some very grounded topics about family, facing difficult truths, and finding your own path in life even if it doesnt fit what's conventional. This movie gets bonus points from me for having two main predator+prey relationships that mirror each other. It's heartwarming and silly and has plenty of entertaining action moments with a good dose of drama. It's really charming and sticks with me.

Chirin's Bell

Heads up, this one is bleaker than the rest, and I love it for it's tragedy(behind the very cute artstyle for the sheep, no less). The protaganist sheep starts from an understandable position where he is tired of being the prey, the victim. His journey to do something about it pushes him to see and do things he never would have done otherwise. And it's this path he takes that has both impressive and unintended consequences. The film seems to pose questions like "is it better to live in ignorance if you can?", "how far will you go to ensure you can't be hurt again?", and "how do you reconcile with abandoning your origins?". The ending feels inevitable and yet haunting all the same.

Leafie: A Hen into the Wild

This one has held up for me perhaps the least, due to it's specific brand of cartoony-ness and unexpected gross factor(this ties into the original vs english/censored versions of the movie. arguably it's a personal preference thing in the end, but i'm actually glad i watched the censored version first.) However, it has still hit home for me several times before and deserves it's credit! The movie tackles the idea of remaining locked inside a system vs living free in the wild where there are many more dangers and mistakes to be made. It also focuses heavily on motherhood, where love and selflessness win in a fight against the uncaring and unmoving whims of others and nature itself. The protagonist's determination to be free and live the life she wants despite her ignorance and the pain it causes her is very moving to me. There is tragedy sprinkled thru the movie and yet it's underscored by how the protagonist is resolved see it all as worthwhile. The movie is often goofy, often dramatic, and overall bittersweet.

So yeah, check them out if any sound interesting! ^^

ok i kinda dont actually want to draw this but heres my line up of smash fighters i wanna see with their attacks n stuff if i have ideas for them

starting with the one who i want the most:

Karate Joe! from Rhythm Heaven i feel like he could have some really fun mechanics, the main one being that his move speed and attack power change with the tempo of the music playing. with faster music he will be faster but hit for less, and slower he will be slower but most of his attacks are heavy hitters. if theres no music then he sits in the middle of that. following that with his grab if he hits every punch on beat (( one of the little monkeys pop out to hold them and another pops out on tambourine )) he does a bit more damage. he also does that cute blush thing after he launches the fighter.

for all of his smashes they follow roughly what he does in his minigames, his up air is when he punches up into the air, his jab is his regular punch, his down is his kick. his back air is kinda the same thing

then his tilt i would love if there was a slight countdown until it does the most amount of damage but that might be a little too much tbh. but i think he would repeatedly punch and then punch them upwards like he does in his combo animation.

for his specials i think his b would be punching an item at the opponent. his up b would have the choir kids all pop out on top of him and each one hits and does damage, after the top most one is hit he falls back down, this can also be used as a recovery cuz the top choir kid can ledge grab. his back air launches them out to the side, this cant be used as a recovery but it has a longer reach. his side B could have one of the little monkies again and they can hit the other fighter which Karate joe can use to combo into a grab really easily. then Down B could be have the choir kids come out again to attack, two in front and one behind.

his final smash takes you to a cutscene from one of the minigames and he pummels whoever is brought in.

i just feel like there HAS to be rhythm heaven rep. like there has to.

next up is Cooking Mama from Cooking Mama

this one ive put the most thought into because i really want her in, but shes the character i know the least about so me and my friend @larkybarky1312 were kinda spitballing! this is also the only one i drew art for but i got really, really burnt out so i didnt finish it. think she plays as a fast lightweight attacker whos a zoner

so starting with smash attacks, her jab would be hitting with the frying pan repeatedly, her tilt would be with a cast iron. then her forward A would have her throw a bowl like a boomerang. her up A would have her fan her apron around like she was dusting it off, then have her a frame of immunity as she puts it back on and does a cute pose. her down A is her taking a baking sheet and flipping it.

ok im putting her special here because me n lark were spitballing and came up with a couple things, first either a funny she throws a bunch of groceries at you, or it kinda works like a pac man kinda situation where she mixes a bowl and the longer she mixes the more powerful the item she pulls out is, ranging from a cookie that heals 3 damage, a regular healing item that heals 10 damage, to pulling a bob-omb out.

her side special works like the inkling roller, but it does a bit more damage and its just whos in front of her, her down special would be her rocking her baby (( from that cursed baby game for the wii )) and her up special would be her spinning around with her mixing spoon!

her final smash is really sick and thanks again for lark for coming up with it but she preps the fighters like she would in her game, by mixing them, putting them in the oven, then serving them! she also heals herself from around 15-35 damage depending on how many characters she hits.

then also i think she deserves a special win screen where she pulls some cookies out of the oven then all of the other players have a special animation where theyre eating the cookie like this :

SPOLIERS FOR PIKMIN 4, SKIP IT IF YOU DONT WANNA SEE <3

next we have: Olimar?

now, this might seem weird BUT i think Olimar should be entirely reworked. I think Alf should get a new slot to himself (( maybe share with Louie idc )) and Olimar should be paired with Moss now! half of his skins could have him have his plant head. now he would be riding moss though i love the option that he can get off of her at any time, i think generally he will be around the same speed but have a worse recovery in exchange for more power. i imagine much like with bowser jr and the koopalings, hitting Moss will do damage but hitting olimar will do more. Olimar once off moss will have acsess to his pikmin, but it wont be the same, he can only pull the ice pikmin and the ghost pikmin can only be used as recovery tools. although off of moss he does move faster and can jump higher, he is a little defenseless. once he gets off of moss she runs off stage and he has to wait around 20 seconds before he can re-summon her. that is a long time but i feel like the trade off is worth it, as only off moss can he have more than one pikmin at a time.

ON MOSS

on moss her smash jab is her repeatedly biting, then forward smash is her body slamming whoever is in front of her, her down smash would be her digging up a clump of dirt and launching it at whoever is behind her, then her up special would be her flying upwards for a short period using her tail as a propeller, this isn't based off of any move i just thought it would make sense.

for her specials she would start with having her B pull up a single Ice Pikmin - then forward B olimar would throw it. up B im not all too sure tbh, but Down B olimar would either send out the ice pikmin in that direction or moss would stomp and plant whoever was in front of her into the ground (( this one is HARD to hit ))

the final smash with moss would set them in a dandori battle, then have moss and a large group of pikmin charge at the other fighters.

OFF OF MOSS

olimars move set is similar to the one he already has but tweaked so he wont play the same as Alf. all of his smashes would be the same but with a smaller range and does more damage (( kinda like mario and dr mario ))

his specials are very different. although his special calls the pikmin/ throws them, he can only throw them after plucking two because he can only have ice pikmin to keep him to pikmin 4. his side special he sends out an onion that explodes on contact, although it doesn't have much range. his down special lets him steal items off of another fighter and his up B is what lets him fly with the ghost pikmin. with his grab hes able is able to grab and drag them around, although he has not a lot of launch power, him dragging them causes a lot of damage and after 5 seconds he can slam them down into the ground for a bit more damage.

the final smash without moss would set them in a dandori battle, and olimar would send a hoard of pikmin and objects at you, the main difference is that moss is not there... but it does a slight bit more damage.

if moss just got added as her own character two that would be sick, with an otchi alt!!

smash is hitting a player with one of his fake paintings. tilt is the same but with a fake statue. his side A works the same as villager and isabelle but with various fake paintings. up A would be him lighting up a bunch of fireworks. down A im not too sure.

his B would be planting some fireworks, much like the gyroids like isabelle. then his side special would be him splashing paint on the opposite that slowly does damage the longer its on them (( it can be removed by performing a taunt )) his down B would be him using his fan to push fighters away kinda like fluud. his Up special would be him riding a firework!

then his final smash would be easy... its him riding in on his boat then whoever it hits gets thrown in as he throws statues and paintings in.

Porky - Earthbound/Mother 2

THE Comics Of The Year 2023

I'm Alexis Sara, and if you don't know me then you should know I am an Eisner [among several other award] winning comics writer and I eventually kinda left behind comics because of a massive feeling of burn out and a lack of hope for the industry. However, I utterly adore the medium and I do enjoy comics still even if mostly in indie form or Manga. Manga of the year is a separate post since I just read more Manga and I wanted to talk about more comics overall so this section is all non manga stuff from Webcomics to graphic novels to single issue type deals, everything I read is up for consideration.

Extreme Venomverse #4 Necroko story 

This story makes me even more mad than I am every day about the state of the public domain. Stan Lee is dead, he doesn't need Spider-man money but Marvel will for many many many more years hoard the amazing ideas made by so many other people that relate to spider-man and even when Spider-man enters the public domain Disney will sue people for using any part of spider-man that doesn't come from the debut time and is still with in their copyright. So an amazing character like Nercroko is stuck at the whims of some editor to see if the creators can bring her back, for how long they can bring her back, they get to decide how gay she is allowed to be, how violent, if the story fits their brand image and if a random event has her erased from the timeline or something to fuel a mans pain or something. Which is to say fuck Marvel comics, don't buy their stuff but I read this story and it's really fucking good, 12/10 it's not really worth buying Extreme Venomverse cuz the other stories are mid but as fuck but this little short story if you could find it at retail value for a single issue of Venomverse #4 pick it up for sure. It's a venom magical girl who is gay, just great, perfect, brilliant, inspirational.

IDW Sonic 

You expect to see the sapphics from me and there here, for real, but I really enjoy this series in general. Whisper and Tangle are my main draw but I did enjoy Sonic video games a lot when I was younger so the characters, designs, etc are always something I just like seeing. The IDW comics bring a great consistent art style that makes the world of sonic feel very alive, stylish an cool. The new characters are all people I want to show up as playable in new sonic games and the story lines all feel like they would be exciting to see in a video game. These comics are really well done and while it could be more explicit in allowing it's original characters to be queer [I understand main game characters not being able to have romance to give the game devs space] it's still a good time.

Ladykillers

I love when the lesbians are on an adventure, when they are poly, when they are silly, and we got it all here. Ladykillers is a silly D&D inspired webcomic that has these cute little dumbasses go on quests and get into trouble. It starts pretty one shotty and eventually gets into a continuous narrative. If you loved Bauldr's Gate but wished it was just about like three homoerotic girls getting into silly trouble, this one is for you.

My Dragon Girlfriend

My Dragon Girlfriend every year is a top series for me. The release format of release makes each update a very small dose of a larger narrative but these little romances are all compelling and sweet and fun filled with silly little sapphics. While the newest couple added in is the one I am least compelled by I still enjoyed them. The art is really cute and sweet, the way emotion is portrayed is handled really well, Country really knows how to capture emotion within the medium and masters making good use out of all the little details.

Grand Slam Romance

I don't like sports but if lesbian magical girls played soft ball I would have to convert to being the number ones sports girly. The messy lesbian drama here is so good and the jokes are really great, when I grabbed this I kinda worried it be YA toned which typically doesn't sit well with me but luckily this is in fact adult fiction for adults that just has a strong sense of whimsy. It's a really great read and I hope a lot more people check it out because it's super good and even has a follow up book coming out.

SpellAstra

These lesbians have issues and I am so fucking here for it. We got a trio of queer witches casting spells, fighting monsters, etc who are all also teachers for a school of other witches. One of the party turns into a demon if her seal is broken which causes her to get all violent and feral, one has a magical artifact tied to a bigger play happening across the universes of the world and the final is holding secrets she doesn't want to share. From there their issues run into each other, they deal with new problems they cause, their love lives get complicated and we find out the truth of all the messy lesbian fun that is unleashed between them. The translation is sometimes a little wonky but if you can forgive a self published self translation to English for sometimes saying words a little wrong but still understandably then damn there just isn't really a story like SpellAstra I've read.

Mage & Demon Queen 

After following this series for so many years it finally finished. This action comedy yuri series is fucking amazing from start to finish a fun time with some of the best jokes across all of comics for nerdy little sapphics like me. I do think near the end of the series we spend too much time with the men of the cast who simply were not the draw for me at all but they got a lot of panel time but outside of that small preference so much of this series is so perfect it's hard to even fault the parts that are a little less great.

Pink Sugar 

What a fucking book, what a queer gift that this exists, that we live in a world where this is being released on webtoon [and a ton of other places] gives me hope for queer art and art in general. This story is lesbian in the deepest ways, with the diversity of lesbians that I want to see. Masc Non Binary Lesbians, bigger fem lesbians, trans lesbians, all falling in love with each other in these gloriously sweet ways. This series is truly queer in the most real sense. The presentation of the afterlife is innovative and fun. the comedy is great, the chemistry between all four of this polycule is great, the romantic moments are super sweet, the art's fantastic, the pacing is great and all of that lends to some really fucking heart breaking moments to as we get into the deep feelings of these dead women. This is one of the best stories being told right now and maybe ever. I love Pink Sugar, I beg of you to check it out. It's currently kickstarting a physical version if your reading this near release of this post then you should go back it. You can read it for free, if you like it, back it.

Sora Nazari is new to Domino- by day they attend Domino High and by night they walk the streets looking for people possessed by malicious spirits, so they could exorcise them and send the ghost off into the afterlife. They’re stoic and cold at first, but one night while Mira is walking home late a man finds her- a nicer man that owns a shop nearby. He’s not so nice tonight and doesn’t act like himself- going for the attack. Before he can hurt her, chains coil around him, holding him back just before he can reach her. He writhes and a moment later he’s purged of the spirit possessing him. Once he falls unconscious, Mira’s new classmate is standing before her from behind where he once stood, their golden gaze piercing her, “Are you alright?”

I was immediately inspired and I had to draw this scene! I really like Sora's design and their demeanour. Thank you for sharing your cool story with me!

Jena came to domino from Russia to duel Yugi to win his puzzle for her cult, but after being with them she learned what family and friendships is. Jena befriends them and decides to go against her cult and live a free life. She is tough and very defensive to anyone who is being mean so if Mira is being bullied Jena will not hesitate to send people to the hospital 😘

I kinda already have an obsession with Jena 🙈 and now that it's confirmed she would protect Mira I just HAD to draw them together! I can totally see her getting into a fight behind the school because someone bullied her friend. Mira doesn't want Jena to get into trouble, but also hides behind her because she's scared.

I know if Jey would have stumbled upon stories of her ancient Egypt past life, or even met her in a more present setting, he’d like her spunk and spirit a lot! 🩵 And Mira would assume Jey is hitting on her XD So her confidence will quickly falter and she'll start to blush and stutter. Because she's not sure if she's wrong about him and she doesn't want to say anything. Jey would probably be a bit amused by Mira’s fluster, potentially egging it on more! (if she was comfortable with it) like dropping his voice an octave or saying she looks nice, just to be playful. Then he’d likely either invite her for a duel or start asking her about herself. Open to trying to be friends and such ^^ Funny thing is Mira isn't a duellist and is really bad at the game, but I feel like she's too flustered to say no so she tries to act like she can beat him 😂

This story just got more and more interesting X'D When I looked at a drawing of Jey I just somehow assumed Mira would get mixed signals from him. It's so fun to see that Mira isn't sure how to make friends with men because she thinks they have an alternative motive hahaha and if she's somehow oblivious to it I bet Atem will come running 😂

I have 3 OC's that I've created for a fanfiction that I'm writing for Yugioh. 3 goddesses from the monster world; one of the sea and Storms with a deep connection to the blue eyes white dragons, one of darkness and death who has a twin sister of light and life. The twins actually posses Atem and Heba (an ancient Egyptian version of Yugi). The possession isn't like full on taking over their minds but rather co-existing in the same bodies (well without the hosts being aware of the spirits). Rozu (the queen of darkness) does eventually makes herself known to Atem but acts as his shadow that's come to life and teaches him shadow magic, where Clarity (the goddess of light) simply channels her magic through Heba to bring life and prosperity to the kingdom of Egypt. Mira starts to notice the strangeness around her brother and Rozu eventually reveals herself to Mira, the spirit thinking she can manipulate the girl too for her nefarious plans and possibly make Mira her host.

This was a really interesting story and after we talked how Rozu would try to manipulate Mira I just saw that scene play out, where Rozu comes out of the shadows and Mira completely freezing up because she doesn't know what to do. Also this drawing was a bit of a challenge since Pengolene didn't have a reference of Rozu, but I wanted to try and bring her to life! (I really hope my version of her resembles how you imagined her!)

Update: Mira no longer my YGO OC, I really love her design too much so I repurposed her as a regular OC. I gave her a less pointy haircut but she's about the same otherwise!

Art Summary 2024 + 2025 Art Goals!

my art summary from last year because the year's not over until it's over! i'm super proud of myself for my art last year since this is the first time i had enough work to fill out most of a summary :D bit of a silly accomplishment, but this was the most i've drawn for a year in terms of completed pieces. i was also a contributor to four zines and participated in five fan events!

i'm proud of my improvement too! i really pushed myself to draw more than floating heads, and while i think my anatomy's still really janky, it's an improvement. i also got better at digital art in general since i didn't know how to use any of the tools a couple years ago and would digitally color scans of my sketches XD. normally, i forget that progress is a nonlinear journey, but looking at the year and comparing to past, i really see how far i've come :)

i think past me would be so happy to see what i'm capable of today, and honestly, i'm proud of how much i've improved in terms of drawing faces and even chibis. i feel like i'm getting closer to what i wish my art would look like! it's still a long way to go, but practice makes progress!

but that's enough of the past onto my goals for this year!

make a piece with three point perspective

make a piece with a detailed interior scene

draw a vehicle in perspective less definite goals:

practice gesture drawing

actually learn anatomy

learn to draw more expressions

practice construction on props

do color studies

practice drawing different types of clothing

draw more chibis because they're cute!

also thank you everyone for your kind words and funny comments! i never would have imagined this when i decided to draw and post more back in may <3

and because i'm a numbers nerd i also did some stats of my digital works (i didn't have access to my sketchbook :P)

for the month by month breakdown, december ended up being my most productive month, not surprising. the more surprising thing was how much more i drew in october compared to earlier in the year. i definitely wasn't imagining this when i, on a whim, decided to draw more in may, given i also didn't imagine obsessing over the clones back in may XD most of the boost definitely came from simplifying my art style to a sketchier one that allowed me to draw out my ideas without feeling the need to make it super fancy and pretty. bonus: it doesn't take 8-10 hours!

and for total breakdown by fandom, star wars unsurprisingly wins. i blame/thank my clone obsession for that one. and fun fact: 74% of my star wars art was specifically the bad batch! meaning 36% of my total art of the year was them :3

and for fun, i created a leaderboard for which characters i drew the most: first place: tech (28 instances) second place: crosshair (27 instances) third place: minako arisato and hunter (tied, 17 instances)

i was partly expecting these results but also not. techtober and crosscember definitely helped the two in numbers, but i didn't expect them to pull ahead by 10. i was very surprised to see minako still holding strong compared to the clones since i used to draw her the most

i guess conclusion: clones are the thank and blame for my art output last year XD
