so unfortunately very few entries here are going to properly be vintage. also what i consider vintage might not line up with what you do. i am not old.
also i am not wealthy. and my family isn’t wealthy. this is an expensive hobby to have. i get most of my stuff from loving it and refusing to throw it away… and digging through the trash at university. you would be surprised with the stuff people throw away. planned obsolescence has nothing on the fact that people can’t be bothered to fix a sour harddrive.
i actually fix computers as a sort of second job. it’s nice to work on computers i can’t afford and that aren’t from the trash. but i love old tech. i love breathing life in to things long dead. i’m a technonecromancer. i am not including pictures of things i haven’t finished yet for the most part. and i simply am not including most things. this is but a fraction of my power
ok so these are all my computers that work. i didn’t include ones that im still working on. they all worked but needed repairs variously. mostly they just needed new hard drives.
my game consoles. again not including ones that don’t work. i actually bought that 3ds, but the rest my parents gave me after they got them used. that gameboy has needed a screen replacement that required soldering. the ds is my little trooper and has needed nothing ever. the wii needed a new disc drive. and the 3ds came in japanese and i hacked it to english.
there’s a back view of my stickers
these are some of my various devices. again not including ones that don’t work. that nano needed a new battery which was actual hell and i’m surprised it survived. that ipad is the first ipad and she works beautifully and one time i fastened it to my tummy for a tellytubby costume. i was slutty lala and i played the old spiderman movie trilogy in glorious VHS quality. i couldn’t find my iphone 3gs for this picture :( but it will turn up. i’ll include an old picture instead of cleaning my room to find it lol
here are some novelties i just like. thats an old radio i swiped from my great grandfather. i got it working but it broke again. i dont know whats wrong with it and its so old that the parts are impossible to find. on the right is the browser for DS which is just so quaint. i love it. it barely works at all but i loaded a wikipedia page one time so xP
this is my terrible stupid tiny phone i got from aliexpress that barely works BUT IT DOES WORK and is technically loaded with all modern smartphone features. i attached a video of it barely playing roblox
this is my og imac. with the og keyboard. i didn’t include it with the working computers because it doesn’t. the harddrive died and im trying to fix it but its really hard. i’ve already sought out two different adapters that haven’t worked
and this is a commodore 64 that i also got out of the trash. it does not work but im hoping to make it work. someone clearly loved it. enough to paint it crazy colors and enough to
write some weird scifi quote on the inside of the case under the RF shield. but maybe they died, or it just became too much of an undertaking.
not included here is:
• several more apple products that i just don’t think look good. all the iphones between 6 and 11 are just so ugly. and i don’t actually like the way apple watches look
• the phone, tablet, and smart watch i actively use
• various bits and bobs like the official speakers for a imac 4, an electronic pocket dictionary, various wii peripherals and so on
• all of my audio equipment
• my iphone 3gs. i just never found it or any pictures of it. i love it tho. it was my first phone (hand me down. i’m not that old) and i have had to repair it so many times and i love taking bad photos with it
• all of my monitors
• my many videogames
• my old fridge that i love and cherish and use
• anything i have fixed and then given to someone else
• a bunch of other stuff
so if you are a beautiful trans woman, are you in love with me yet? or do i need to make a part two

I'm here to yell and love Okami all over again!!!! I LOVE OKAMI VERY MUCH AND AM SO EXCITED SHES COMING BACK BABEYYYYYYY!!!!!
(that okami case is in fact bought from a blockbuster its that old XD)
I didn't start playing Okami back when it released on the playstation but when it had come to the Wii I was instantly hooked. The artstyle, the story and just being able to run around as a DOGGO was amazing for my young teen brain!! It got me into looking up myths and legends when I was in school and now I love reading about them still to this day, its fascinating seeing what was used in the game and seeing other instances of the real myths in other games thanks to Okami getting the ball rolling for me! Then of course Okamiden came out and THAT IS THE ORIGINAL OKAMI 2 WE CANNOT FORGET ABOUT THE LIL OUPPY HIMSELF CHIBI!!! I'll admit I may have only played thru Okamiden once.... only because I HAD a complete file and lent the game for a family friend to play on... and they deleted the file and I had been so discouraged to replay it again, maybe with the new game being teased I may play thru it again along with OG okami as well to 100%
Back when I first played Okami initially, I managed to make 2 things just because I loved the game so so much, first being this old clay figure I made. Its missing a leg sadly but I'm still so dang proud of how well younger me managed to even get it so well shaped! Her mirror is a lil worse for wear too but its flames are hanging on by a thread (its removable too!)
Then I forget WHEN I made this but I think I just wanted to paint something small on this tiny canvas I found at the time, and tiny it was! Again probably to broaden my skills as a kid XD
And then in 2019 during one my sisters batchelorette outings we did for fun, we went to this ceramics cafe where we could pick something and just go buck wild and paint whatever we wanted on it. I decided to make the coolest mug ever, and of course did Ammy! Itty bitty Issun to boot XD
Now something cool folks may not have seen that I gots! I didn't use the internet like crazy as a kid so I didn't know about looking things up for games and whatnot, so how did young me even stumble onto Okami to begin with? Well with THESE two books right here!!
NINTENDO POWER BABEYYYYYY!!!!! Back when I had been getting a subscription, these were my introductions to Okami! The One with Sonic on it was the original one that had this section for Okami in the issue, and man when I saw the art for it I fell so hard in love adsfsgdhfj
LOOK AT THEM ARTS IMAGINE HOW COOL THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN TO SEE AS A KID XD
Then the Kingdom hearts one was the one that told me about Okamiden!
I had to go digging for those when I remembered I had them at all, the only other cool things I owned that I didn't make or was the game themselves XD
I'm so hyped Okami is getting a third game and from the trailer alone it's gonna look amazinnnngggg. With how far graphics have gotten today, who knows how much stylization were gonna get that's essentially what they wanted from the original, how far can they push the Sumi-e now that we have the graphic capabilities? I can't wait for news and PRAY it comes to the next gen nintendo console, we got the other two for the nintendo, one being a DS exclusive, so it would be insane if it didn't come to nintendo again.
We must wait and seeeeeeee
Time to continue to be deranged and look at peoples pretty asf art, OKAMI RESURGENCE LETS FRICKING GO FELLAS!!!!
#I'd scream about it more but I'm barely stayin awake I had a long ass day and wanted to get this made for fun XD#Okami and PLA are now my current hyperfixations#PLA is never gonna leave the brainspace that lives rent free stealing my food out of the fridge but Okamis gonna room with them for now lol#IF ANYONE HASN'T PLAYED OKAMI BEFORE I HIGHLY SUGGEST GIVING IT A SHOT!! ITS ON SALE ON MOST PLATFORMS INCLUDING THE SWITCH PORT!!!#okami#okami sequel#okami amaterasu#capcom#okamiden#okami 2#amaterasu#nintendo power#smashwolfen

I'm the anon from the plushy-familiar ask. See, while I was writing that ask I got to wonder about something I often end up asking many IF authors: names, and naming conventions.
While I do appreciate the fact you've given suggestions in game (there is nothing worse for me, someone who likes to name my MCs in a way that fits the world as much as possible, when a fantasy game does not include suggestions for names), I'm also someone greedy for knowledge. So, I came here to ask about names.
As I have noticed, most humans seem to have rather common names that could fit in our world. Names like Arthur, Tobias or Liam. That said, those names all have different etymological origins. Arthur is celtic (most likely, is not entirely certain), Tobias comes from Hebrew, and Liam is germanic (as is a short form of William). So, would it make sense to have names like Tom, John, Richard, Henry or Duncan for a human male? It so seems to me. Basically, names that could make sense in medieval England (although Liam feels very modern to me, yet is the name I chose for my MC simply because I like how it sounds, but I may change it later).
Yet elves seem to have especial fantasy names. While both Dwarfs (courtesy of Tally) and Orcs (courtesy of Corden, if I'm not mistaken) have real world names, just very unusual.
So, I was wondering. Given how MC is likely given a human name, both because our mother is choosing it and because we are supposed to blend in amongst humans, am I correct on my observations? Or do you have a more complex, or more free, way of seeing how to name human characters? Like, are human characters also able to have fantasy, or uncommon, names?
In any case, unless it's too much of a bother, could you give examples of names you've considered giving as a suggestion for MC? Or names you think would make sense for MC to have in world? You already gave some in game, so you don't have to do this. I'd just like to know your thought process behind it.
there's no real reason why I chose these names, I think I just chose them because I like them.
although Liam actually comes from a character in one of my fanfics that will never make it onto Tumblr. Tobias is for a video game I used to play on DS when I was little. and Arthur because I love King Arthur.
I also wanted to suggest ESCA for the character of the Eagle of the 9th Legion, played by Jamie Bell if I remember correctly. so now it's true that I tend to use English names, but I think that's because I write in English. When I write in French, I tend to use French names. it's not out of the question for there to be characters with more French or other first names as the story progresses. in general naming characters is a pain for me, I hate it and tend to use generators
it's true that when it comes to skiing the names of orcs and elves, I tend to be a little more exotic.
if the names of the dwarfs may seem a little banal, I do have a kind of reason - I don't know if you've noticed, but I only use names beginning with T. Tally, Tallion, Telio, Tazio, Troye. and there's a reason for this: the deity to whom the dwarves are attached is called Telemandir. As far as humans are concerned, I think any name can be used.
as long as they're fairly old names, I mean, I wouldn't want to have a Kevin in my world. 😆 as for the elves, I like to have sounds that are a little musical, so Lessica, for example, is pretty, I think.
as for the orcs, I think I found the name Corden in the game Banish. if I remember correctly, but I have the impression that there's a sort of pattern emerging since one of the other orcs I have in mind who comes from the cardan family is called Oren.
Another piece of information I can share with you, for example, is that the Princely Family ruling men, their first names all start with a K.
it's a tradition that's been going on for a little over 300 years. The men decided to give up their crown and their title of king and queen to take only that of prince, since Amandine was acting up.
Another small piece of information but MC has a human name chosen by Eliana but he or she also has an elven first name chosen by Ash.

AAIC Previews
This is the 61st post in the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection Countdown: 20 days left until release!
Today's topic: some Previews of the Investigations Collection!
Since the start of August various magazines and gaming channels have posted previews of the Investigations Collection. They've been able to play the first few cases of both games and wrote about their first impressions, most of them being old fans of the series and having played I1 back in the day but never I2. I won't go through all of them like I did for the interviews with the devs previously since there really are a lot but I'm going to talk about a few of the major points most of them mentioned and agreed on that I found the most interesting.
youtube
The different gameplay structure of Investigations in comparison to the main series is a welcome breath of fresh air and a lot of fun
That's what I've been saying! I feel validated here. Nothing against the other AA games but the Investigations games are just better but the Investigations gameplay style works so well and I hardly ever see that acknowledged in the fandom. I think they picked exactly the right combination of different but similar which really makes them stand out in the best of ways.
The more logic based gameplay mechanics are a lot of fun and very fitting for Miles as a protagonist, they ground the setting in a good way while still keeping the characters and situations as wonderfully wacky as before
Also something I've been saying for a long time! Miles just has the best skills and mechanics, that's just how it is. I especially appreciate how many previews note the characters and story developments being just as good and interesting as AA is known for because I've seen too many people calling I1 lacking in that department and I just can't understand that at all.
Miles as the protagonist is a particular highlight, he's an amazing character to be in the head of and his commentary and his interactions with other characters are highly entertaining
One of the major reasons why I adore the Investigations games so much so I completely agree with this. There's a reason Miles is my favourite character in the entire series after all and my favourite to play as. He's unique in all the best ways, could comment on the most boring stuff imaginable and I'd still find it interesting (I'm like Ema in that way) and can interact with any random character and make it entertaining just with his contribution alone. No other AA character has been able to match that for me.
The initial cases gave very good impressions, they seemed like the start to a compelling story and most previewers were eager to see more
Again, with the overall fandom's comparatively negative opinion on I1 I'm quite happy to see more positive judgements be thrown its way. I don't have any doubt that I2 will blow most people who haven't tried it yet away with how incredible it is but it's still good to see my own impressions validated.
There's no notable difference (in tone or quality) between the I1 and I2 localisations, most previewers felt right at home with both
That's very good to hear! From what the devs said, that's what they were going for and more and more supports the impression that they fully succeeded. Fantastic!
The various enhancements of the collection were judged very positively, especially the HD chibi sprites, and all the extras were very appreciated; some called it the best collection yet
That was to be expected but I still love to hear it. I've been fangirling about all of this for the last 60 days now so I'm glad I'm not the only one 😄 It's always nice to read positive comments about things you love.
The logical deductions the game asks of you are clearer than the main series sometimes is, maybe the game is a bit easier because of that but only in a positive way
This I found very interesting and not many previewers put it quite so clearly (some also found it too easy and others deliciously challenging) but it did pop up a few times. Several called it overall less frustrating because of that and while I never had major issues with any game in the series in that way (only ever isolated incidents) I do agree that the Investigations games handle their deductions and logic chains unusually well. They always make complete sense and there are (almost) no weird jumps or strange detours before you arrive at the conclusions the game wants you to. Maybe that also partly stems from Miles being the protagonist since he usually knows what he's doing and follows a concrete strategy instead of just guessing half of the time but it's definitely another point in the games' favour.
The closest thing to a negative point that most of the previewers mentioned is that the pixel art looks out of place against the HD backgrounds
I feared this might be the case. You can't really keep the backgrounds on the DS graphic level or they'd look insanely blurry on the larger screens but with crystal clear background art the pixel art of the sprites in the foreground looks jarring. No idea how you could possibly avoid that. It's not relevant for me personally since I won't actively be playing with the pixel graphics anyway but it definitely isn't great for the people who want to. On the positive side, if that's the only thing most previewers even came close to criticizing, this promises stellar reviews and ratings for the release of the collection!

How I fell down the Emulator Pipeline (or Rabbit hole, whichever you prefer)
It all started with moving away and leaving 90% of my stuff behind. Two of these things included my 3ds and my copy of Personal Trainer Cooking.
I needed some recipes for a meal I was doing, and I didn't have that hardware handy and I had no idea where it could be, so I just installed an emulator on my computer and ran the program on my PC. I needed the recipe to be mobile, so I can read it in the kitchen, so I installed Drastic on my phone and went from there.
Once I did that, I figured, "Let's emulate some of the games I've wanted to play again on my phone."
I did that for a bit, worked out fine. I then remembered the Jontron video about Pokémon. Ya know, the one. Jontron downplayed the Moemon hack, basically calling the creator of it a pedo which is unfortunate because Moemon is just Gijinka. It is not a hentai mod or a loli mod. It's just the reverse of turning a human into an animal. I'm very pro anthropomorphism, it's basically my whole deal. I like that term more than furry, even though one is way easier to spell than the other, the former is way more inclusive and is not an implication of sexuality.
In any case, I installed that mod. Actually, I had to patch a specific version of fire red to do that, but I figured that out and ran the Moemon mod which included Mega evolutions even though it's a mod of a game that came out many years before that was a thing.
Then I saw that there were more Pokémon ROM hacks, like a ton more. So I installed them. Not all of them are good though, we got edge lord mods, unfinished or glitchy mods, mods requiring patches from original game files that don't exist online anymore, and mods in different languages. There's a demake community that use fire red as the base for making a version of the current Pokémon games in a much older engine.
Complete overhaul mods, adding in content in the newer games, creating unique and often interesting fakemon (some of which are technically canon but not official).
So I went crazy and started downloading ROM hacks for Pokémon. Then I thought, "Surely there are romhacks for other games?"
The answer to that was, "not really." There are translation mods and glitch mods, but there are not a lot of "Let's add a lot of genuine gameplay to this old game" that's done in the scene.
After I obtained several dozen romhacks for Pokémon games from Crystal to Black, I thought to myself "I can't play all of these back to back, half of these are just Emerald mods. I'll burn myself out at this rate." So I decided to pace myself by playing every other turn based RPG in between any given Pokémon Rom hack.
So I grabbed every game boy ROM in the RPG category and went to town.
I had another thought, though, "if my phone can emulate Game Boy games and DS games, maybe it can emulate psone games or even PSP games.
So I installed every RPG that came out for the PSP and PSone that I could think of and added those to the list of games I'd emulate.
I got tired of using the virtual game pad, so I bought an entire controller and paired it.
After a couple of years, I returned home and dug up my old hardware. Found out that the server of basically every game I played was dead, so in order to make use of my old game consoles and handhelds, I had to jailbreak all of them.
So I did, from Mcfreeboot to Godmod9 I jailbroke my devices and any services like community servers or a romhack gift shop opened itself up to me. I reformatted a handful of 64 Gigabyte SD cards and gave my devices the storage I would have only dreamed of back in the day.
But I was worried, what if my PS3 games are lost forever due to my console dying? What if I want to continue playing Little Big Planet 2 even after my PS3 dies?
So I bought a PC specifically optimized for emulation and I started emulating PS3 and PS2 and Psone games. I figured out how to convert, export, and import save files for all those devices and the PSP and now the save file my friend made for his play through of Digimon World in 2003 can now be played on my PCSX2 system in the current day.
My phone is tiring out on me. It can't handle streaming videos, handling various misc apps that I use on top of streaming videos, and me playing games on it all at the same time. Half the time my progress in a game is dropped because my phone can't process all of that.
So I bought an AYN Odin Pro, and now I emulate almost everything on this one device, and the rest I run on my Beelink.
None of my devices can emulate PS4 or Xbox Series S games, but I genuinely have no idea what's worth playing beyond that point because I don't buy first party games, so those new games come out on steam. Don't need emulation or a new console there now, do I?
Steam Deck is doing gang busters, and I feel like the future of gaming is handheld emulation devices playing games long abandoned by its original creators.
But what do I know? I'm totally indoctrinated by the seven seas of piracy. Now, if you don't mind me. I'm going to figure out whether I can turn a bricked PS4 into a Linux machine...

The ONLY Time I've Gotten To Play A Real Gamecube
The Nintendo Gamecube. Weather you love it or… oh who am I kidding yall love this thing like it’s the son you never had, it’s hard to deny that it wasn’t exactly the most successful console in the 2000’s. Especially when it was competing with the Motion Dew powered alien box that has Halo on it and what might as well be Genghis Khan if he was a video game console with how much of the world the Playstation 2 conquered. Crazy to think the original model that sold the most units wasn’t even its final form!
And yet despite it being arguably one of the worst selling consoles of that era if you ask anyone nowadays, especially the die-hard Nintendo fans who grew up in this era, they will say it was one of Nintendo’s best systems ever and that it had some of the best games ever! And yet, I never owned growing up. Which is kind of ironic when you really think about it considering the amount of franchises I really love that happen to be Nintendo franchises or in cases like the Shantae series, started life on a Nintendo series. Crazy to think that almost wasn’t the case when you remember the first game was originally planned for the PS1. In fact, there’s only ever been one time in my entire life where I’ve ever been able to play on a real life, authentic Gamecube. And the circumstances for how I ended up playing it are, well they were not the best circumstances. Sit down, let me tell you the story of the ONE and ONLY time I’ve ever gotten a chance to play on the purple lunchbox that is the Gamecube.
So a little bit of background. I like to think I was largely a PlayStation child growing up in the 2000’s and I’m pretty sure I might have even mentioned this in the past. Well, that’s only half true. Growing up I had an equal amount of both PlayStation and Nintendo system. I had a PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable and a PlayStation 3 on the Sony side of things while on the Nintendo side I had a Gameboy Advanced, DS and Wii with practically nothing from Microsoft’s side in my possession. In fact, I wouldn’t even own an Xbox system until after I had grown up and got the Xbox One in 2015 when I was 18 years old. So why did I not have a Gamecube growing up? Well, several reasons.
1. … What’s a Gamecube? Yeah, I didn’t even know the Gamecube was a thing back when it was new! In fact, I wouldn’t even properly know of its existence until around like 2005. Now I don’t know how it was exactly that I found out it was a thing, but I do remember it was because I was just randomly browsing the internet one day since we had just gotten internet set up in our house. All this time I thought there was only PlayStation 2 and Xbox meanwhile this tiny box that shared the same colour as Grimace was also a thing.
It was around this time though that I remembered something. A few years prior I was with my Dad and we were visiting a friend of his and he had a son. A son who turned on his TV to play a video game console with a startup screen different to what I was use to. Yeah, do I even need to say it? I actually HAD seen a Gamecube in real life this whole time and I just didn’t know it. I didn’t get to play it though because we were only there for like five minuets and Dad had some important stuff to do.
2. Do you really think my parents would get me a second home console when I already had a PlayStation 2? And many of the third-party games that were released on the Gamecube were also on the PlayStation 2? My parents were not super strict, I mean my mother got me a Nintendo Wii AND PlayStation 3 in the later half of the decade for Palutena’s sake, but there was no way BellmoTheChild was getting his hands on another home console anytime soon.
Do you wanna know a hilarious part about that second point though? One of the multiplatform games I did own was the Futurama video game and on that game, you could actually watch a trailer for it and at the end it advertised all the systems it was available and one of them was the Gamecube. That version never ended up getting released so… sorry Gamecube owners who were also Futurama fans!
Now I knew that Nintendo was a thing for a while now at that point. In fact, some of my earliest gaming memories was actually playing Mario Kart 64 at a friend’s place who sadly moved away to another state in 2010 but did have a Nintendo 64 with them. So did my uncle who let me play Super Mario 64 which I stupidly thought was referencing the year it came out in. Why did I use to think that? Am I stupid? The sad thing about the time I properly found out the Gamecube was a thing is that by the time I did, the Nintendo Wii was only about like a year from being released. And by that point I pretty much just stopped caring about the thing. I had no reason to care about it.
That was, until 2006. Not long ago my parents had divorced and I was at my father’s waiting for my mother to pick me up. So, to kill time I played outside. Just minding my own business running around when suddenly, I feel over and landed on my elbow and broke my humerus! Yeah it, it was quite painful. And yes, before you ask, that IS an actual bone in the human body. Look it up if you don’t believe me. And I was in a lot of pain two, so I had to be rushed to the hospital and stay the night.
The next morning, I wasn’t able to leave yet as we had to wait for some results or something so to keep me occupied the doctors rolled in a TV to play with. And I think you can tell what was plugged into that TV. A Nintendo Gamecube!
There it was! The system I had only just recently heard of and thought I’d never get to play was sitting right there in front of me. Waiting to be played. And of course, I played it. Because what the Hell else was I meant to do while stuck in a hospital bed? I don’t remember every game they had to play there but there are two in particular I do remember. Luigi’s Mansion and SpongeBob SquarePants Lights Camera Pants. And guess which one I spent the most time playing that morning? Lui… Yup it was SpongeBob SquarePants! Because why the hell would the kid who loves SpongeBob pass up this opportunity?
Okay but in all seriousness, I DID also try Luigi’s Mansion as well but it was on a save file that was already in progress, I had no idea what I was even meant to do and just got frustrated and swapped to SpongeBob. I would go on to play the Gamecube for the rest of the morning until we were able to leave. But leave more so because we got told that the doctors would have to preform a surgery on me to heal my arm which my mom was agents because she thought it’d be scary for me and eventually my arm just healed on its own.
And that’s it! That is the only time I’ve ever gotten to play a real-life Nintendo Gamecube. I wasn’t kidding when I said earlier that the circumstances for me playing it were not the best. A year after that I got my Nintendo Wii for Christmas which WAS compatible with Gamecube games but was never able to find any games for sale since most game stores I went to were no longer selling them. As I got older though I started to learn a lot more about the Nintendo Gamecube and its library games and all it had to offer.
And once I started to gain this much knowledge of it and went into my teenage years and then later my adult years where I noticed more people online were singing it’s praises as well as how more people in general were willing to say that the Gamecube was a good console… I honestly didn’t care that I didn’t own one. And no, it wasn’t because I had a Wii which was backwards compatible with Gamecube games. Again, I never brought any Gamecube games for it due to not actively looking for them. I don’t even use my Wii anymore after I got my Wii U which is compatible with original Wii games. Hell, it wasn’t even because I had no interest in collecting old gaming systems or anything. In fact, around the time of me writing this my PlayStation Vita I brought with my birthday money came in since it was the only PlayStation system I didn’t own yet and I am absolutely loving it so far.
No, the real reason I didn’t have any actual interest in owning a Gamecube is because of several factors.
1. Many of the more well-known games that were originally released on it ended up getting re-releases later on and they were all on systems I actually DID have! From Zelda Twilight Princess having a duel release on both the Gamecube and the Wii to the first two Pikmin games getting re-released on the Wii, Metroid Prime getting versions for both the Wii AND Switch, Zelda Wind Waker getting a HD port on Wii U which also added in the Swift Sali to make traveling across the Great Sea much less tedious, Luigi’s Mansion which got a 3DS remake to the remake of Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door coming out on the Switch soon. Yeah, not everything that was on the Gamecube would get this lucky but pretty much most of the well-known ones did or are.
2. Have you seen how expensive Gamecube games cost second hand? Alright, let’s just rip this bandage off right now. If you have any interest in buying a Nintendo Gamecube now you are, for lack of a better term, fucked! Not just because of the system itself but also because of the games! The actual games themselves go for way, WAY too much second hand! These games can cost upwards of close to or even over $100 on sites like ebay. In fact, I went to a convention a few years ago after COVID restrictions started to be eased and one of the stalls there was selling some old Nintendo games and you wanna know how much Super Smash Bros Melee cost? $120! Fucking… why!? And then you got stuff like Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes which on ebay costs $230. Let me just remind you that The Twin Snakes is widely considered to be the weaker version of Metal Gear Solid 1 yet somehow it costs 2x more than a copy of the original PS1 version! Then you got the original version of Metroid Prime which costs just as much used as the newer remastered version on Switch does!
This is something that has always bothered me about older first party Nintendo games. People who sell them second hand always, ALWAYS charge WAY too much for them! Not just Gamecube games either but also stuff like old Nintendo 64 games as well which can also go for over $100 used. I went into my local Cash Converters a few months ago and they had on display a copy of Mario Party 2 for $195, Pokemon Stadium for $295 and Metroid for $430!!! And yeah, I can understand why some games can be harder to get your hands on nowadays compared to others as there can be several factors that play into it such as how available they were on release or how many copies were made as well as if that game has ever gotten a re-release on modern systems or not but my fucking God good luck getting older Nintendo games for a reasonable price if you don’t feel like spending $60 a year on Nintendo Switch Online plus the expansion for whatever reason. Points like this are why I am such a defender of emulation. Which actually brings me to the last reason I have no real interest in getting a real Gamecube now.
3. Gamecube emulation is super easy to set up and do! You probably knew I was going to bring this up eventually. Playing Gamecube games on an emulator is pretty much the only way I’ve been able to play some of the exclusive games I’ve been able to that don’t involve having to starve myself. I used to play these primarily on Dolphin but ever since I hacked my Wii U I’ve been playing these games on Nintendont which is a Gamecube emulator for Wii U since it’s the closest I may ever get to playing an actual Gamecube again because of how the Wii U is built of off the Wii which itself was already built of off the Gamecube.
And in response to the comments I’m bound to get saying “eMuLaTiOn Is PiRaCy! YoU sHoUlD bE pLaYiNg On AcTuAl HaRdWaRe!” Number 1; shut up! Please! You people give me the same tired reaction I get when I see Helluva Boss haters complain that the show “only has one joke and it’s swearing” and coming off as if they have never actually watched the show they are criticising and are just saying that for the sake of that un funny meme. Go ahead, tell me I’m wrong about that one! Number 2; Many of the games I and a lot of others do emulate are ones that aren’t officially sold anymore and even if you do have the money to spend on a $230 used copy of Wario World NONE of the money you spend would be going to the people who made the game anyway! And let me tell you, I am NOT spending that much on a game I otherwise love for that reason alone!
Also, this isn’t actually related to my reason for not being interested in getting a real Gamecube but I wanna bring it up because I don’t know when I’ll get a better chance two, the controller. I’m… I’m sorry, I’m not the biggest fan of this thing but it’s purely because of how it looks. I’ve used the special Super Smash Bros Ultimate Gamecube controller that was released along side the game back in 2018 and it honestly feels great to use. Not even just with Smash but with other select games on the Switch. No, my reason for not loving the controller is purely it’s design! It’s not as bad as the Nintendo 64 controller, nothing is gonna top THAT thing in how ugly it is, but it’s still not the most pleasant thing to me.
-It only has three shoulder buttons compared to the four on the PS2 controller and despite the L and R buttons feeling like they should be pressure sensitive a whole generation before the PS3 and Xbox 360 they aren’t. -There’s no Select button and you only got the Start button. -While the left analogue stick is actually really good and I’d argue one of the best ones Nintendo has ever made the C stick on the other hand? Oh boy. It has NO REASON to be as stubby as it is especially when you consider that most games use it primarily for camera control anyway. -Oh and can someone explain to me what in Hade’s name they were thinking when it came to the face buttons? Why is the A button so big and in the centre while the B button is so small with the X and Y buttons being so awkwardly shaped on the top?
Again, actually using the controller isn’t that bad and it feels fine. But if someone told me that this was there least favourite controller ever because of its design I can’t say I would blame them. AND THAT’S THE THING THAT SUPRISES ME! People say this is one of the BEST controller ever! And I have to ask, why? I mean it’s great that people love using it but I think I’m going to stick to my special gold Wii classic controller that came with my copy of the Wii remake of Goldeneye thanks. It doesn’t look like a miss mash of buttons and it works just as fine when I use it with Nintendont.
And… that’s pretty much it! That is my Gamecube story. How I learnt about it, how I even got to play it and why that will probably be the only time I ever get to play a real one because fuck selling those games at a reasonable prince am I right?! This… went on for longer than I admit I anticipated… I can’t think of a good way to end this……… Hey did you know that despite his hatred for it being a big part of his character now Batman back in some of his really early comics never actually had a problem with guns and even used them regularly?

Ooh, we have a clear winner this time!
Final Fantasy II - While not my favorite Final Fantasy by any means, I remember having fun with this one. It tried out some rather revolutionary things for its time, and introduced some staples of the Final Fantasy franchise. I was surprised to discover it was this game that introduced chocobos; they're such a fixture, I would have expected them to have been in the first game too. Also, this game taught me the word "doppelganger" - the battle against which was one of the more memorable ones, I think.
Oregon Trail II - I didn't play this game as much as the first one, but I remember it was a lot easier. I probably only made it to Willamette Valley twice in the first one, but I could get to the end of Oregon Trail II most times I actually played it all the way through. I also remember the buffalo moved waaaaaay faster in the second game, so it was a lot harder to shoot them. It's like they were on roller skates or something, scooting back and forth in front of you.
Stairs - Not surprised at all nobody voted for this. Very obscure indie horror game that unfortunately I remember most for giving me motion sickness ^^' The ending was really scary, but mostly I found it kind of forgettable.
Another Code: Two Memories - An underrated gem of an adventure game for the DS. I was mostly interested in it because it was made by the same people who made Hotel Dusk, which was basically the whole reason I got a DS in the first place. It's definitely not as good as Hotel Dusk, but I liked it. I should probably play it again sometime, because I don't remember the story very well at all.
Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - This adventure game will live forever in infamy with me and my siblings because of its weird voice acting. Some lovely examples we still quote to each other, some fifteen years later: "The door. Was locked." "It didn't work." "Hi! I'm George Stobbart." It was kind of like a lower-quality Last Express to me, and the mechanics could be really clunky. But that might have been because I played the Wii port, so maybe it would have been fine if I'd been using a mouse instead of a Wiimote.
F-Zero X - Classic racing game. So many good memories of playing this with my siblings. While racing games are usually not my style, we had lots of fun with it. I still distinctly remember the first time we played the Sand Ocean level, where you can go spinning around and around through the tunnel and go flying through the air if you pop out while still on the ceiling, and we were all whooping for the sheer joy of it ^_^ (But Mute City will always have the best F-Zero music <3)
Five Nights at Freddy's 3 - In my opinion, the weakest of the series. For one thing, it's not set at an actual Freddy's location, but a recreated "haunted house" type attraction, so most of the spooky stuff there is supposed to look spooky and, ironically, ends up less so :/ As soon as you figure out the gimmick of the game, which I did on Night 2, the tension and creep factor goes way down. I was about as bored as you can possibly be when winding up a music box and fixing faulty wiring to keep a mangy, haunted animatronic from coming and eating your face :P
I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream - I was really surprised to see that this one won! I thought for sure it would be too old and obscure for anyone to have even heard of it, let alone played it. I haven't read the short story it's based on, but it certainly made for a trippy (and kind of depressing) post-apocalyptic game! @_@ What I find most fascinating is that Harlan Ellison wrote the dialogue for the game and did the voice acting for the computer AM, even though he said he hated video games. Maybe he just wanted to make sure they did it right...? In any case, I'm sure that's why the game's dialogue is so good, even if the voice acting is a bit meh.
Arbitrarily-Chosen Video Game Tournament, Round 1.2
Welcome to the Arbitrarily-Chosen Video Game Tournament, where we will find out which of the games I've played is the best game of all time!
Why? Don't ask. Just vote and reblog!

More about me than you ever wanted to know!
I’ve been answering more than a handful of asks privately about myself since (re-)starting the @dethkomic, here. This’ll give you guys a little insight about me as an artist/author, my background, and serve as a handy go-to so nobody has to go out of their way to find out some basic info about me! Anywho...
Hi, I’m Dawn!
I’m 40(!), I like really loud music and animation! I’m mostly here for what’s left of the Ride or Die Metalocalypse and Gargoyles fandoms, because I just can’t quit you guys (and I don’t want to). More under the cut..!
What do I do?: I started gigging as a comic book artist at 19 and have held all kinds of art and design jobs, since. My last *high-octane* job was as an art director in Corporate America™ , but I’ve more or less retired. I’d currently call myself an indie game developer who also does contract art and developer work for companies. If you’re reading @dethkomic then you’ll likely enjoy the game that I’ve been working on for a while now, called “Harmonic Odyssey: The Five Gods”. And don’t worry if you’re not reading the ‘komic or aren’t into Metalocalypse stuff at all. It’s not a pre-requisite. Please note me if you try the demo, too!
What else do I do?: I live in a badass house on a badass two acres that sits on the side of a badass mountain surrounded by trees and wildlife. At any given time, I share my homestead with a butt-ton of cats (both ours and fostered), rats, ferrets, and chickens. Plus our neighbor’s guinea fowl who have boundary issues I’m not about to challenge. I’ve also been married for 11 years, and my husband and I have a daughter who’s in first grade -- they’re here too, when I can find them amongst all the critters.
No, but what else?: I’m the bassist/singer/guitarist (in that order) for a little band called Autumn Springs. When I’m not working or doing art or both, I’m screwing around with a guitar of some kind.
What kinds of strings are you going to use?: When it comes to gear, I got all kinds of stuff I like to play with -- my bass rig currently consists of: 2021 Spector Euro 5 LX (my main 5-string) 2014 Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Special HB (my main 4-string) I use D’addario Roundwounds, for the most part. I don’t like changing strings on my basses. I do tend to change them more often on the Spector than any of the others, because I enjoy its brightness. Fender Rumble amps of all sizes Line 6 M13 Stompbox
My guitar rig is considerably different, but I don’t go “into town” with it as often: My main all-purpose guitar is a 2003 Gibson SG I like Ernie Ball strings -- all kinds Fender Mustang V The Line 6 Stompbox again and/or Boss Distortion DS-1 by itself!
Why did you get into fandom?: Metalocalypse drew me in after I moved across the country and was settling into a new/old life on the East Coast. I got into it halfway through the second season thanks to many late nights spent doing some job or another. Found a bunch of friends, including people who worked on the series, and we had some great times. I think all of us miss the show very much.
Still have the friends, though!
Gargoyles was a fandom that had a bigger following back when it was on the air (all of 24 years ago as of this writing), and I remember orbiting in those days. Years passed, and some of us are still here, though our numbers are dwindling (much like the Gargoyles themselves).
I think it’s hard being a fan of stuff that’s no longer running, but in a way, I think it’s also not. It’s wonderful to see others interpretations of how how things should have wrapped up, and it’s easy to get inspired. In any case, both of the shows I’m talking about here deserve a good ending, and I feel like anything I can do as a fan to contribute to their memory might some day lead someone to that elusive revival (and heck -- looks like Metalocalypse is at least getting one, so there’s that)
Why did you write Dethkomic?: Most of you know, or at least a lot of you do, that this story is a re-imagining of an old fanfic I did years and years and years ago. I was working on Harmonic for two years when I got the itch to do something else with the girls, and kept lamenting that it’d be easier to pull in some interest for my games if I still had a foot in the door (the grave?) of Dethklok fandom. So, I just kinda took the story, reworked it as a comic, and stuck my foot in.
I’m glad I did, too, because not only do I have more people taking interest in my stuff outside of fandom now (and thank you all for that, by the way! You guys are all amazing deathmetal people) but I’ve heard more than a few of you say that it’s been nice to look forward to updates of Dethkomic since we don’t currently have the show going on. That kind of endorsement means a lot to me, even as a fan-work. I’m glad I can share stories with you all.
Where else are you outside of tumblr?: I’m from the internet! But if you want to know more about me and/or follow/troll me elsehwere, I’m most active on these sites: Deviantart: http://chordsykat.deviantart.com Itch.io: https://evolvgames.itch.io/ Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/dbeshleman Artstation: https://dawnbest.artstation.com/

ok new year’s sappy post time
So I found KH thanks to the Youtube Algorithm in July/August of this year. I’m the rare case of someone learning The Plot before actually playing the games: I was so fascinated by the story and the characters that I just had to spring for a used PS4 to play the games myself (my first personal video game console since my DS in 2008). I’ve just started my Aqua playthrough in BBS and I’m having a wonderful time. I am completely obsessed, and I can tell I’m going to love this series forever. I’m so thankful I was able to discover/fall in love with it right before Sora was announced for Smash, so I got to enjoy that moment in the community with everyone else.
The KH community is also the first online community I’ve ever been apart of. It’s the first one I’ve written fanfics for, watched endless podcasts and Youtube videos, and found streamers and communities I love, including tumblr. People like Phoenix-Downer and others being so supportive of my fics and leaving such kind comments have really made me feel like I belong here. Everyone here has been so fun, kind, and welcoming and it’s been so awesome to have people to geek out about Kingdom Hearts with. This year has been... a lot, but I can definitely say discovering and falling in love with Kingdom Hearts, and joining the wonderful community around it, has definitely been the highlight of my year. Thank you to everyone who’s reached out, listened to my dumb theory posts, read my fics, and just in general been really cool and welcoming.
I found Kingdom Hearts at 24 years old. I had just turned 5 when the first game came out in 2002. As a Nintendo kid with no gamer friends, I never would have found KH as a kid. But I like to think I found KH exactly when I was supposed to, and it’s brought me so much joy and connection in a time when I’ve really needed it. That’s why I hope the series goes on for another 20 years, because now I’m so excited to be right here, experiencing all the mysteries, heartwarming moments, and everything else to come right alongside everyone else. I love you all. I hope this next year for you is a good one. May our hearts be our guiding keys friends
#Holly rambles#and rambles#phoenix- you're such a warm wonderful person and a phenomenal writer#every comment from you and every story you post makes my day#also 23jk I ADORE your data greeting videos#theyre such high quality and you tell such cute stories and such cinematic (and romantic) comics and videos#I watch your DGs when Im sad and need to smile#Xiiiwayfinders thank you for being the first person to follow me and like my posts when I created my KH blog#you really made me feel like I was part of the community right away#I shouldn't be saying all this in tags but it feels weird to tag people directly#Holly waxes poetic#If you're reading this you're a real pal for sticking it out to the deep lore

Answering some commonly asked Deathstroke questions
When, can, how
This was a fun idea that I’d seen done in the past. Basiclly you go into Google type in a character then word like “what, when where and who” and answer the questions that pop up. In this case I answered “Is and What” questions. This was done around two years ago so it may not be updated. I kind of want to do it again with the new autofills. I’ll make a part two if I do.
So what makes me qualified to talk on Deathstroke?
I’ve been a hardcore fan of Deathstroke for almost eight years, (now ten at the time of postingthis) which is impressive because I’m only 18 (now twenty). Admittedly, I really know the most about the individual Deathstroke solo runs, but that doesn’t mean that I never read other books that he’s in. Outside of all four of his solo books, I’ve read the NTT issues with DS in them, the shitty Johns run, outsiders, villains for hire, flashpoint, birds of prey, Team 7, futures end, and loads of other issues that he appeared in that would take to long to name here.
What about other media?
Good question. I never finished the arkham game, injustice, MK.vs.DC, or pretty much any other video game he’s in. Not that I don’t want to play it’s that my computer can’t run them, so I need to wait till I get one that can.
As for cartoons?
I’ve watched teen titans, crisis on two earths, flashpoint, parts of Arrow and I even suffered through the son of Batman but I couldn’t sit though that shitty Judas Contract movie, so I’ve never watched it. There are probably others that I can’t think of right now. (Titans wasn’t out at the time of writing this. It’ll be in the part two)
FAQ
Found by Google auto-fill
These are the questions found under “Is Deathstroke...”
Is Deathstroke Slade?
Yes, Slade from Teen Titans and Deathstroke from the comics are the same person. From what I’ve read the Cartoon network executives didn’t like the whole “Death” part, but personally I never bought that given that the Titans fought the Devil. I just think that didn’t want to make Slade a mercenary like he is in the comics so they made a “new” version of the character.
Is Deathstroke Deadpool?
No! They don’t even look alike. When Deadpool was first made by Liefeld (who is a deathstroke fan) editors noted that Deadpool acted like Deathstroke and hence their similar name was born.
Is Deathstroke a Batman villain?
If I had my way? No, he wouldn’t be. But sadly DC get owns him so Deathstoke and Batman tend to fight. Still I wouldn’t call him a “Batman Villain,” I’d say he’s more of a everyone villain. He’s fought the Titans, Wonder Woman, Superman, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Flash, Halkman, and loads of other people. So the answer would probably be no, they’re not, but this really could be debated either way.
Is Deathstroke in Arrow?
Yes. Love it or hate it, Deathstroke is in Arrow. While he isn’t at all the same character from the comics he does show up there. He first appears in season 1 but is the main villain in season 2 and goes on to reappear throughout later seasons.
Is Deathstroke immortal?
Now this is a good question! And the answer is complicated. The short answer is yes, he was at one point. The the good old MarvStroke run, Slade gained immortality from Cheshire (long story) and this went on to be a big plot thing in the later issues of that run. To the best of my knowledge, he never lost that ability until the universe reset. He just stopped being so hot headed and getting himself killed. During N52 I think he lost it, he may have got it back in convergence and we have yet to see if he still has it in Rebirth. (rebirth hadn’t ended yet. But I’d say no. In the Rebirth Timeline, Slade is not immortal)
Is Deathstroke a metahuman?
Well, again yes and no. Yes, he has powers so if that’s what you mean by metahuman, then yes. However, I’ve always defined metahuman as having been born with your powers, so by that definition, no he would be. I think it’s how you want to define metahuman that will define the answer.
Is Deathstroke an anti-hero?
This is pretty dependant on what issue your asking about. He can go from Earth saving hero, to nuking Bludhaven, and back to mercenary so that’s a hard question. One could argue that Deathstroke first appeared as a “villain” but it was Clay Pigeons that launched his first solo run. In that he was most definitely an anti-hero, so I’d say that he is. (or at least he SHOULD be)
Is Deathstroke good?
Hell yeah! Sure, his character has had some hiccups *cough* PriestStroke *cough* but over all, his character is pretty great. If you mean alignment? That depends on issue again. The MarvStroke run is littered with Deathstroke being a straight up hero. He worked with Team Titans (at least I think) to save the world and at one point Cyborg considered him to be a hero. But since then it depends on the Author. (DC can’t seem to make up their minds and looks to be exploring the morality of his character in DS INC)
Is Deathstroke Robin?
This is an interesting questions actually. I think it comes from a theory that Slade from Teen Titans is Robin from the future. In one episode Robin kicks off part of Slade’s mask and we see black hair, since Slade Wilson has white hair, people just kinda assumed this. I may address this later but the answer is no; the Slade from the Teen Titans cartoon is not Robin. However on Earth 5029 Dick Grayson went insane after losing his eye and became Deathstroke. So yes sorta if you really like this fan AU, but I don’t think that's what their asking about.
Is Deathstroke in Gotham?
No, Slade Wilson or Deathstroke never appeared in Gotham the TV show. But if you’d like to see how I’d write him in, let me know and I’ll bump it up on my roster.
Let’s move on to the “What” questions
What’s Deathstroke’s real name?
Slade Joseph Wilson.
What does Deathstroke look like?
In classic comics Slade looks like a man in his 40’s with white hair, an eye patch, a goatee and almost no cheeks because his cheekbones are so strong; of course this isn’t always the case. In some issues/ runs, he is younger, being blond (end of the MarvStroke run) or brunette (DanielStroke) and sometimes he’ll have both eyes (most of DanielStroke). But outside of that, his look has stayed constant in comics.
What is Deathstroke’s armor made of?
In the classic comics (NTT/MarvStroke) it was made of a promethium mesh mix, in N52 it was made of promethium and nth metal, Convergance was promethium as well I believe and Rebirth he uses that SHITTY ikon armor. I can’t stress how much I hate the Ikon suit. I sorta want to do a highlight of the different feats of his different suits so I may do that.
What are Deathstroke’s weakness?
Good question. Well, Slade is human….so there's that. In the Marvstroke run when he was immortal nothing could kill him, however, this may have only been temporary I don’t think it was conformed in the books. Outside of that? We know that Barta was able to rip his head clean off so brute force is always possible if you're stronger. Let’s go over what killed him in the MarvStroke: being impaled on a sword, being shot, chemicals, bullet through the mouth, being shot by cops, heart attack (he is pushing 60 after all) and I’m probably forgetting things because he died a lot in the last few issues. Like a lot. So most things that could kill a human could kill him. Much to my chagrin, his family is probably the answer that you’d be looking for. He’d gladly die for them so that would be the easiest way to get to him.
What is Deathstroke’s sword made of?
I have a feeling that these last two questions are being asked by debaters lol. Hi guys, sup? Anyway, so far as I know it’s always been made of promethium. It may have been mixed with Nth metal in n52 but I believe it’s always been made of promethium. Sadly if you are a debater I can’t give you a set list of ability as it changes pretty much every run. It goes from just being really solid to being able to cut Superman….. So sorry. No list of powers.
What are Deathstroke’s weapons?
Actually this is pretty run dependiant. I don’t have time to go through every single item he’s ever had so I’ll go over what he has most often. Sometimes he has guns sometimes not, but pretty constantly he has his sword, and an assortment of bombs and knives. Otherwise he makes good use of his surroundings. IE: taking other people's guns, or making a shield. I’m talking on average of course, so this can change depending on what you read, also keep in mind, he brings things as he needs them. (He very much retained the mind of a soldier. He bring things as the mission requires. Never bring extra to weigh him down.)
What does Deathstroke mean?
If you consider Rebirth cannon, then he was named after his sword. However, his name was never meant to be called Deathstroke. When he was first introduced everyone called him “Terminator” Deathstroke was just the part of his name that no one used. After the movie with Arine came out DC fazed this name out, and Deathstroke replaced it. I don’t think it was ever meant to have a deep meaning, just your typical 90’s funny faux hardcore name.
What is Deathstroke’s fighting style?
Probably a mix of all of them if I had to guess, I know he trained with Richard Dragon so that seems likely. He went though advanced military training so he would likely fall back onto this kind of training heavely.
What is Deathstroke’s mask made of?
A promethium aloy, I believe. I don’t think that this has ever changed, save for in rebirth.
What if Deathstroke was real?
This would be a cool post and I may make it sometime, but if we say that he survives his genetics being ripped apart, he would die of a heart attack. His power are derived from adrenaline, and his heart would give out if it was forced to process it 24/7. His body would shut down slowly and it would be unable to digest food; he would go spetic from rotting food in his stomach. He would also likely go quite mad as everything around him would be SUPER loud and everything he touched would have it’s texture enchanced. His powers are like being on a constant adrenaline high, however the artifical adrenaline that hisbody makes could come without the negative side effects.

okay i have Feelings about NEO: TWEWY and nobody to shout them at because literally nobody else I know plays it which is truly a crime; the original twewy remains one of my favourite games to this day. but anyway. massive NEO TWEWY spoilers inbound:
First of all it truly is a miracle that this game even exists. I never once actually believed we’d get a sequel. Let alone one this good!! It is really, really good!!!
Things I Enjoyed:
- The gameplay. Whoo boy. Up to about 4 team members, anyway. It’s fast paced, button mashing satisfaction, that manages to keep elements from the original game while still being fresh and fun, if not entirely chaotic, which is why after 4 characters, it was a bit like, ‘okay, chill, let us switch out or something’ lmao
- The new characters. Although I feel like we leave the game not knowing as much about them as I would like, the new team are really great, and Nagi in particular really shone in terms of character grown. Rindo.. I feel like I know as little about him now as I did at the start :|a Maybe I just missed something.
I honestly found the teams and their leaders kinda forgettable >>;; Although the heel-face turn on Motoi was pretty great. I needed more from Kanon to feel anything when she, yknow.
The new reapers were... a mixed bunch. Shoka was fantastic, Susukichi was... a bit much in English, great in Japanese, Tsugumi was great but didn’t get enough screen time (unless she gets more post game, I dunno yet) Shiba annoyed the fuck outta me, Kaie was alright.. the others... meh. They don’t hold up to Kariya and Uzuki. And obviously Kubo sucks ass pfft
- The reappearing characters. of course i loved them. i got a hit of serotonin every time one appeared on my screen. neku my son. josh the reapers. i was never a huge minamimoto stan lmao but he was fun. even curry don. but some were DIRELY underutilised which i WILL COME BACK TO
- THE MUSIC. twewy cannot fail on its music, it’s amazing, it’s glorious, it’s multi faceted, it goes hard. and adding in Beat’s psyche, a rhythm mini game acting as the fast walk button???? yes. yes yes yes yes. yessssssss.
- The graphics. Mostly. Everything looked beautiful, and HD, and the character designs were great - not toooooooooo Nomura but Nomura enough, yknow? And the occasional chibi faces were great lol. The chaotic battles sometimes caused lag which... I mean, they coulda given us the option to turn off some of the animations or damage graphics lmao but hey. the forced perspective on shibuya was a bit off occasionally but it was how the original game did it and it’s all for the ~aesthetic~ so hey. And it was great seeing some of the original locations looking so much more fleshed out
- The Localisation. Personally, I think the translators struck a perfect balance that made the kids seem like they’d fit right into today’s culture. It wasn’t forced, it wasn’t ‘look at us we are Teenagers’, it was right on the mark. And it was really, really interesting hearing just how different the Japanese VA lines were compared to the English translations. They really went all out and it paid off, imo.
Dislikes: (i haven’t read the secret reports yet tho)
- UNDERUTILISATION OF THE ORIGINAL CHARACTERS - now, look, okay, I’m biased. I admit it. I’m a Josh and Neku stan lmao, so I was looking forward to seeing them the whole game. And as it went on and on and I realised I wouldn’t be until much later, it bummed me out. The bait n’ switch with Beat was funny at first, and I enjoyed it a lot, until I realised that yeah, that’s what they’re going with. Beat’s probably my least favourite partner from the original (sorry) but even disregarding that, it annoys me that they gave him like 10,000x more screen time than even Neku.
Not to mention Shiki and Joshua! Josh in particular I could write a whole essay on how pissed I am. The lost potential. Nobody mentioning him, ever, once. Until he just sorta shows up and says a few things. It makes NO SENSE, he’s the fucking composer, Neku and Beat worked with him, why aren’t they questioning his whereabouts when Shibuya’s turning to shit??????’ I just?????? I had low hopes for Josh content tbf but I am still disappointed :( And naught but one singular Hanekoma mention, as well. Sigh.
Shiki, it’s a shame she doesn’t appear more, she certainly could have - I can think of like 5 ways off the top of my head - having her as a partner would have also been extremely good.
Neku at least we got..... half a week with. and as a PC. And like, I know it’s not supposed to be about them, but throw us a bit more than cheap fanservice, yknow. And Kariya and Uzuki were great too.
- why, oh why, was every single team lackey male???? they couldn’t be arsed to make female designs????? it baffled me.
- SO. MUCH. SHIBUYA. TRAVERSING. I don’t remember if it was that bad in the original?! But oh my god lol. I think a lot of it was padding. Sure felt like it. Paired with the slightly hand hold-y mission progression cutscenes, they coulda cut a bunch of those out.
Other Stuff:
- The voice acting - fantastic in Japanese, okay in English, except for the returning characters?? didn’t sound great??? in english??? I was hyped to turn English back on for Beat but.... nah. Nahhh. Nagi’s English VA was absolutely the best imo.
- They nailed the feel of the old game without totally copying it - the food, clothes, general aesthetic, music. That said, it still felt a little too tied to the original. Ironic considering the rant above I know lmao but... yeah. The player psyches were a nice touch but I feel like it needed something to set it apart a lil more from its predecessor.
- I didn’t realise A New Day existed until literally today and I wish I had seen it before I played Neo. Now I know who Coco is lmao. And Shinjuku’s erasure was part of that too! arghhhh. Nomura stop burying plot points in other things. I’m a DS OG dont do this to me
- Rindo’s time travel power was cool but jumping back to the same point like 3 or 4 times in some cases got old
- You could really feel the KH3 energy of ‘play 30 hours until something or someone pivotal finally appears’ lol. Nomuraaaaa.
... anyway.
TL;DR good game, needed more Josh, also needs more fans please

2020.05.29 ROCK AND READ 090 – interview with YUCHI – translation part 1/2
profile & information
born April 2nd. Blood type B. Plays on bass in sukekiyo, a project started by Kyo from DIR EN GREY in 2013, but also works as a support musician in several places. Other sukekiyo members are Takumi (g, pf), utA (g), Mika (ds). The footage from their last show in June last year in Nakano Sunplaza is included on the newest video and sound compilation 'LIQUEFACIO' available now.
future
Started as a solo project by Kyo from DIR EN GREY, but having fixed members, sukekiyo functions totally as a band. YUCHI plays on bass. The position of his bass is high, his playing overflows with grooves, he's a bassist with a sense of present. Although right now they are not active we talk about his role in kannivalism as Yuuchi (* 裕地 ), about his work as a support for MIYAVI and so on, his musical path including his early life/childhood, things he gained from sukekiyo and his prospects/outlook from now on.

――As a bassist you deploy a phrase approach and have a strong presence, but I also feel a sense uncharacteristic for a Japanese there. I just feel like in sukekiyo you have shown your true abilities. What got you interested in music originally?
It's hard to say when I started to listen to music exactly, but it was in the beginning of junior high that I started to listen consciously. Like thinking, let's buy a CD. In elementary school I liked to watch music programs on TV, but it didn't end up with me buying CDs. I have older and younger sisters, two of them liked music. The 2nd older sister had LUNA SEA's 'MOTHER'. So when she went out like to go to her part time job and so on, I sneaked into her room and listened to 'MOTHER' (laughing).
――Why did you get so crazy about ‘MOTHER’ to even enter the path of crime?
I got it when I was a 1st year jh student. And because it was a new release even the CD shop in the boonies had a LUNA SEA corner. And that way I got it. I think that I’ve been a bit perverse(nonconformist) even since then. At that time, I felt in my child’s heart there were many light/moderate artists. LUNA SEA was of course very popular, but they seemed so manly. So it was like, I wanted to be a person listening to the bands like that. And my sis had LUNA SEA’s ‘MOTHER’. I think it’s another reason I was listening to it. And, kuroyume’s ‘FAKESTAR,~I‘M JUST A JAPANESEFAKE ROCKER~ ‘ came out around the same time as ‘STYLE’, so I also got it. And a bit later X-JAPAN's ‘DAHLIA’. I think all of those came out the same year. Thinking about it now 1996 brought us amazing crops. It was great time to start listening to music.
――But you got into all of the rock bands. Were bands also popular among your friends?
Nah, not really. [I lived in] Funabashi in Chiba, so even in the city it was like a countryside. There were no shops with CDs in my town. No convenience stores even (laughing). That’s why to buy CDs I had to go to the nearby town, the basic train fare was 300 yen one way. A lot of money for a jh school student. I remember riding my bicycle to buy CDs. With ‘STYLE’ and ‘MOTHER’ I was listening to them like every day. When I was in the 2nd year, there was a visual kei boom in the world, it became a pop/popular thing. And I think since then I could also talk about music with my friends. But I found that boring. Because in the end I also ended up listening to pop artists.
――Did you always wanted to be a minority?
I was twisted a bit, somewhere. Looking back now, I wanted to go into more and more extreme direction, that time. I knew special CD stores from music magazines, also about indies and so on. I started digging deeper and deeper.
――Any special titles or bands that left an impression that you’ve encountered back then?
If it’s about leaving a strong impression, then definitely X’s past works. I started to listen to more indie bands from that time, but listening and watching old stuff from X was really impactful. When I started digging into indie music X-JAPAN has disbanded. The history and more of X was featured a lot in music magazines, it was interesting to read that. And with that I felt I wanted to be in a band.
――A band similar to X?
I think then it was like that. As long as I could be in the band I didn’t care about the position. All band members in X were cool, guitar was cool, bass was cool, drums were cool, so if I could be in a band any would be fine. Although I thought that singing would be impossible. To be honest I bought a music instrument around jh 1st year. 30,000 yen IBANEZ bass. Even as I didn’t know the roles of the bass and the guitar (laughing). Later I realized that the sound I wanted to play was the guitar.
――A mix up from the very first step (laughing).
Yup, and like that I continued with the bass (laughing).
――Isn't that the best? (laughing) doesn't the excitement go up with the first instrument?
Yeah, it does. But even as I bought a bass I didn't really understand it. It took me about a year to learn how to use the tuner (laughing). The first score I got was X-JAPAN's 'DAHLIA', and there was an instruction to lower the tuning by a half-tone. But I didn't even understand the regular tuning not even mentioning the half-tones. And at that time, there was a person who died electrocuted by the electric guitar. I think he was called Yamada Kamachi. So being afraid of getting electrocuted I put on working gloves and played with the wrong tuning (laughing). But I had a vague feeling of wanting to become a professional musician. If I do it I should do it properly until the end, I was thinking like a child would. On the contrary, I didn’t have any other interests. So like a child would, I got happy that I finally found something I could really get into.
――And after that you devoted all your energy and curiosity into playing the bass?
Yup. But it didn't matter it was a bass (laughing). As long as I could play music and be in a band I was happy. I wasn't that interested in the instruments themselves, so I got into writing songs. I started that around 2nd year of jh.
――All of a sudden original songs?!
Thinking about it now, it was all copying the songs from the score books I bought. Imitations of the songs of the bands I was listening to then, simply saying I was 'borrowing' the cool parts (laughing). I was connecting the parts I liked from LUNA SEA and X-JAPAN into a songs. Pretty much, all were [borrowed] parts. I think there was a software/game to do that.
――When you are young you can easily start using programs for writing and composing music.
Ah, no, it wasn't DTM or anything like that (DTM=Computer Music). There was a game like that on PlayStation. You could choose each part and write the score with a controller. And after writing all parts in the score you could just play it like that on PlayStation. But you couldn't record it. At the beginning I just entered all music notes as they were written in the score. And with that I got 'ah, so song goes on like that' or 'chords move like that' and 'the chords are composed like that' and so on. I wasn't planning to be learning through this, but as I was playing with this program as a result I've learnt a lot.
――You must've experienced the fun and thrill of the band ensemble.
Yup. And that's why I liked all the parts in the band.
――By the way do you remember the title of the first song you composed?
No, not at all. I think it must've been something embarrassing (laughing). It was a song similar to 'BLUE BLOOD' by X. I made my friends listen to it. But they were just confused (laughing). But it roughly had the right composition, A melody, B melody, chorus. In the end, the know how I got from this got very useful later.
――Was the high school time when you got to start a band the moment when the revolution happened for you?
Yeah. My elementary school was in a small town, so there weren’t that many students. But upon entering high school suddenly the number of students was high. And at that time many bands were popular so there were many people playing on instruments. So I invited my friends to play at the live house (small music club). It was fun. I’ve realized my dream to play in a band. But ever since the 1st year of jr I wanted to play in a band professionally so I had this weird uncomfortable feeling. Friends who created a band with me at school weren’t really interested in becoming professional musicians, I think they were just doing it for fun. Playing in a band at school sure has its limits huh, I felt. I didn't wish for the same story as SUGIZO and Shinya from LUNA SEA , but it seems they were childhood friends and started a band at school and continued until professional level like that. I realized that in reality there are more cases that don't end like that. And then I realized that I have to start a band with people who were very serious about music. Thus around the second year I quit high school (laughing).
――Woah, wait. I will act as a parent here for a bit. 'What do you think school is for, punk?'
I went to high school to join a band.
――You're being serious!? That's the first time I, your dad, have heard that!
Hahaha. Thinking about it now it sounds like a joke, but at the time I was serious about that. Also when reading the interviews with musicians I liked, they said things like 'we started the band at high school' and that you meet band members at school. So thinking that's the way, you start a band at high school and aim at becoming a professional like that. But reality is different. Well, duh (laughing). But as it was a school focusing on preparing for university entrance exams it was different. I caused a lot of trouble for my parents and teachers.
――They must have been worried about your future and talked to you many times.
I think so. They tried persuading me. They told me that I can start a band after graduating. That is true. You can also play in a band after classes while still going to school. I was 13 when I first thought about starting a band, at 17 only 4 years have passed. It would be fine not to decide everything in those 4 years. I wouldn't quit school if I was deciding now (laughing). But then, I was serious, it felt wrong to continue going to school. I thought I will miss my chance at the goal of my life. I thought I have to quit school and pursue band properly. Then I wanted to spend time doing that.
――You had a lot of enthusiasm but didn't know how professional musicians did things and worked.
Mostly that, yeah. For example I went to a clothes store in Harajuku to [check] the handwritten ads by people looking for band members. By calling so many people from all of those ads I gathered members. Among the people I got to know there were some who had an experience with being in a band or performing live. And this way my circle gradually kept expanding. But around the 17 year old me everyone was older. But among people I have met later were Ryo and Kei who are doing BAROQUE now. They were around 15 or 17 then. It was unusual to have someone that young so I remember that we met because of that.
――Was kannivalism the band born then?
Yes. Ryo and Kei were playing together in a band for over a year already, so they had quite some experience and also some fans. When they were starting a new band I got invited. I really wanted to do a band with someone in the same age, we understood each other well. I remember that we started with working on the songs, experimenting what sounds are good in the studio. Kei came in with some original songs, we listened to them in the studio and I added the bass then and there. DTM was still not common then, it still wasn’t the time when most of band musicians have computers. That’s why I remember we all gathered in the studio and worked on the songs saying this is not it, that is not it, creating a song from scratch.
――Do you remember talking about what kind of band you want to create before it all started?
I think we didn’t really have a talk like this. But we wanted to do something no other bands did. At the time, the visual kei boom I’ve seen when I was in junior high was on the decline, it was a period with the number of bands steadily decreasing. And with things going on like this there weren’t any visual bands that felt new. That’s why we wanted to do a band that no one seen yet, no one done yet. But we didn’t have a concrete model what the band should be like.
――Did all of the band members aim at becoming professional musicians already from the time you started the band?
Instead of thinking to become professional we thought starting the band we already are that (laughing). Quite a big misunderstanding (laughing). But there are some good things that can result from such misunderstandings. It can spread into various things like possibilities or the momentum. We continued doing some things then that now I would be scared to try.
――When kannivalism came out, everyone was talking about the birth of a young band with a good sense.
If that’s [how it was received] it makes me happy. Band activities and everything else, all felt fresh to me. Both Ryo and Kei had done bands before, so their way of thinking was a bit more mature. But then, before I noticed kannivalism was also over (wry laugh). In the small world of visual kei the word about the new band kannivalism has spread also to some more senior band musicians and Ryo got headhunted by the more senior band. And like that we disbanded in less than a year.
――Was the break up of the band wrapped in dreams really the answer?
it was, but the headhunted member will usually start activities in the new band very soon, right? It was like that, and myself, I wanted to do a band that will kreep going properly so I soon looked for new band members and started another band.
――You're talking about k@mikaze?
You know well. Not even a month after kannivalism disbanded we had the k@mikaze's first concert. In k@mikaze I wrote some songs. But there was quite an age difference between band members, I was the youngest, and there was a 7 year difference between me and the oldest band member. It is also quite different how quickly 18 yo and 25yo people absorb and perceive things. I was watching and listening to various things, my attitude was to try add what I found interesting. And somehow there was a gap between [the younger me] and the 24 or 25 yo people. When I think about it now, I remember that they were desperately responding to the things I wanted to do, but the me then was not satisfied. And like that k@mikaze too disbanded after about a year and half.
part 2/2 will come soon ;)

too 10 zelda games and why?
an ask? sick!! ok top 10 zelda games with reason coming up! (why cant i tag asks??)
1: skyward sword (duh)- Everything about this game is amazing, the soundtrack, the Npcs that feel like people, the puzzles, the controls, just everything! The storyline was linear, but really worth it! This might seem unpopular, but i also loved fi, from her aesthetic to her theme, hell i didnt mind her tips, no matter how many times i play through the game! People say they dont like having to fight the imprisoned/ghirahim 3 times. I loved the ghirahim fights and didnt mind doing it 3 times. And while the imprisoned was annoying, it was there because of plot consistency. The old woman says that too much power will draw it out, and if that didnt happen every time yall would be complaining about plot consistency. Skyward sword also had some of my favorite characters: Ghirahim and this version of Zelda!
2: Spirit tracks (wii u virtual console): this was my first Zelda game, I used to play it at family events with my cousin on his ds because social anxiety. You might think that i have it so high for nostalgia, and while that was the case for a while, i recently got the virtual console version, and played though it twice (you know when you do something recently it loses its nostalgia?) the soundtrack was great, i loved anjean, and zelda in that game was incredible. Taking the form of a phantom to help you, literally all of zeldas and links interactions were adorable. People said hey didnt like the touch controls and while they did take some getting used to, i adjusted kinda quickly, and when i played phantom hourglass afterwards, i kept dying cause the rolls were different.
3: Ocarina of time (3D): yes i didnt have an N64, fight me. Oot is a fan favorite, and for good reasons. It basically invented the zelda formula (if i have my release dates straight?) not counting alltp. Shiek is one of my favorite characters in anything ever, and admittedly, i did get a little sad when navi left. The soundtrack is good, but short when compared to other zelda games (that and it keeps getting taken off of youtube gdi!) again, ive never had an n64, so idk what the water temple was like back then, (i know about the iron boots gear screen) but from some of my cousins reactions, it seems to be a LOT better in the 3ds version
4: A link Between worlds: This is a really solid entry in the zelda series. Its got just enough difficulty that i dont remember literally everything, but easy enough that i can listen to something like TAZ while playing and understand whats happening in both. Ravio is a good character, though i wish you could steal for him. The items system was really cool, but i like that feeling of “whatre ya gonna get in this temple” that most zelda games have.
5. Minish cap (virtual console wii u): the minish cap is an all around pretty game. The graphics are just beautiful, the soundtrack is amazing, specially minish woods! And its got another of my fave characters, Vaati! Ezlo was also a great character, and sure the kinstones are annoying if youre tyring to 100% the game as are the figures, so this is why we dont 100% things! /s
6. Majoras Mask (3D): Disclaimer: i havent finished this, i was in ikana when my sister lost our copy of the game. But i know the story. MM is a game with only 4 dungeons, so it would seem short right? No, because of the 3 day system it takes longer than expected and wants you to plan out what youre doing. It had a lot of memorable sidequests and the masks were really fun as well. The soundtrack takes those OOT sounds and creates a whole new feel and its a heckin good time!
7. Twilight princess (wii): another game i havent finished! This time because spider scary, and im worried about encountering another one. Midna is super awesome, as is the wolf form and twilight sections, but on the wii, the controls are… awful. Anyone who complains about skyward swords motion controls has obviously never played this version of the game. Zant was cool, but then he was immediately overshadowed by ganondorf with little explanation. At least in Skyward sword ghirahim makes it clear that all he wants is demises resurrection.
8. Wind waker (HD): for a lot of people this is their favorite, but idk it just never really clicked with me. Maybe its because i saved in the wind temple and Makar vanished so i had to reset my game? The soundtrack was good, but not really my fave, and i didnt like the king of red lions all that much. But other than that, it was a pretty solid game, just not one of my faves.
9. Phantom hourglass (wii u virtual console): after i beat spirit tracks i just HAD to play phantom hourglass, and i gotta say, i was pretty disappointed… the temple of the ocean king was like the tower of spirits, but the time limit. Oh the time limit. Also they fucking nerfed tetra in this game cmon! Ceilia made navi nosies, which i found funny for some reason. Honestly, the only saving grace is linebeck. his theme is amazing, he did grow on me, and the final boss fight against him was *chefs kiss*
10: Botw (both wii u and switch): yeah i just dont really like botw all that much. Half of the soundtrack is pretty decent, but the other half is * 5 piano notes* “what you want MORE???” I didn’t like botw Zelda. At all. At best she was quirky and kinda annoying, and at worst she made me wanna slam my head into the wall. I also didnt care about the champions, no matter how much the game wanted me to. The divine beasts were pretty bad, and the shrines were just kinda tiresome. The graphics were pretty cool (THANK GOD THERE WERE NO SPIDERS) i mean its a cool game, just not a cool zelda game, ya know? Also this is the only game thats made my wii u crash. And it wasnt just one time. Do with that what you will

Naruhodo Fan Book Plus translation
[I got my hands on a rare out of print collection of character dialogue pieces that were printed after the Naruhodo Fan Book was published and were released as an insert with a 2012 edition of Gamaga magazine. I was a little disappointed that only three of them were ones I’d never seen before as the rest had been uploaded by the folks at Court-Records but oh well. I’m happy to have any new content! So here’s one of the new bits. Enjoy!]
Justice for All, On Sale Now!
What's going on at the Wright and Co. Law Offices?
Justice for All, On Sale Now! By Takumi Shu
With the release of Justice for All, Best Price Edition nearly upon them, Nick and friends might do a little reminiscing about the old days…?!
Maya: Hi there! It's me, Maya Fey.
Phoenix: Long time no see. I'm Phoenix Wright.
M: Tomorrow's the big day, isn't it? Justice for All comes out for the Nintendo DS… I can't wait!
P: I guess… It won't mean much for us, though.
M: Huh?! What's that supposed to mean, Nick? Don't tell me you're not gonna buy a copy!
P: W-well, I mean, I already played Justice for All several times. It was a long time ago, but still.
M: But I've forgotten most of what happens! I wanna play it again!
P: It's just… uh, actually things are a little tight this month. I don't have any spare money.
M: Nghhh… I guess that explains why we haven't had any snacks in the office in a while, huh…
P: Yeah, them's the breaks. We'll just have to make do with drinking a bunch of water.
M: What?! But I wanna play! Man, I was all excited about it, too…
P: Well then, can't you just replay the Gameboy Advance version?
M: Maybe, except the cartridge got lost somewhere!
P: Oh… I guess it's no wonder; the office is a little messy.
M: If the state of this room is what you call "a little messy," then I'd hate to see what you consider a real mess to be.
P: Anyway, if we dig around over there then I'm sure it'll turn up. Should we have a look?
M: Nghhh… Guess there's no other choice. I'll check the toy box.
P: Don't call it a toy box. It's an evidence storage box.
M: Huh?! What's a banana doing in here?! It's gonna rot!
P: No, wait. Isn't that a baseball glove?
M: hmm? A baseball glove?
P: Yeah, remember that case? The Lost Turnabout?
M: Oh yeah, now that you mention it… is this from that case...?
P: Hey, I found a ball in the drawer. Try catching it in that glove!
M: Eep! What the heck?! This was a bunch of bananas after all!
P: Oh, sorry… But on the bright side, at least you found something you can snack on now.
M: Nghhh… oh hey, this ball you tossed me is Pearly's.
P: Ah, you mean the one she had the first time I met her back in Reunion, and Turnabout?
M: This sure brings back memories… I worked like a dog saving my allowance to buy it for her.
P: Oh? Was it really that expensive?
M: I'll never forget it as long as I live! It was $7.22!
P: Okayyy...hmm?
M: Something wrong, Nick?
P: What's the story behind this shriveled up bunch of carrots?
M: Oh, those! Moe gave those to us.
P: "Moe"...? Oh, the clown from the Turnabout Big Top case.
M: Apparently if you puree those and drink the juice, you'll get some really remarkable results.
P: "Remarkable results"...?
M: Why don't we try it and see what happens? Hold on a minute, I'm gonna juice these.
Edgeworth: ...Wright!
P: Oh, Edgeworth. What’s up? You look stressed half to death, just like usual.
E: At least I don’t look starved half to death like you do.
M: Here you go, Mr. Edgeworth. Have some nice fresh carrot juice!
E: Hmm. Well, I don’t really have anything against carrot juice, I suppose…
P: ...How is it? You look even more stressed than you did just a minute ago.
E: I thought of a question just now that I simply must know the answer to.
M: A question…? What is it?
E: Do people who are naturally bad at spelling… all possess blood type-o?
P: ………….
M: ………….
P: I think you’d better throw those carrots away, Maya.
M: Personally, I thought it was kind of funny!
P: Anyway, what brings you here, Edgeworth?
E: Do you even need to ask? This, of course!
P: Oh! That’s the DS version of Justice for All, isn’t it?
E: Your assistant here asked me to reserve a copy for you two when I was reserving my own copy the other day.
M: Whoo hoo! Thanks for going to all that trouble! I guess today was the release day, huh!
P: Only you would dare to ask Edgeworth of all people to be your gofer, Maya…
E: Yes, so that’s the story… now pay up, Wright.
P: Huh?
M: Yeah, sorry about this, Nick, but I kinda told Mr. Edgeworth you’d reimburse him.
P: Did you not just hear me say that money was tight for me this month?!
M: Aw, c’mon. As the heroine of this game, I can’t just not play it!
P: We pretty much remembered all the cases in Justice for All just now in all the commotion, didn’t we?!
M: Well, I guess, but… hmm?
P: What’s that slip of paper there?
M: Oh, this brings back memories too, doesn’t it? It’s a receipt from the Gatewater Imperial Hotel.
E: Imperial… that name sounds familiar.
M: There was a murder there in Farewell, My Turnabout. Remember?
E: Ah, yes… It’s all coming back to me now.
M: After the trial, we all went and ate a huge full course dinner there together!
P: Yeah, I remember! That was a good memory.
E: I remember as well. It was indeed… an important memory.
P: As I recall, Detective Gumshoe sneakily wrote my name on the bill.
E: And I paid for it… under the condition that I’d be paid back.
P: Wh-- h-huh? I-is that right?
E: Look at the signature on that receipt.
P: M… Miles Edgeworth…
E: I’d completely forgotten. Thank you so much for reminding me, Maya.
M: You’re welcome!
E: Now then… It’s time to pay what you owe, both for the game and this additional $1,665.
