A little something about the seiyuu, Umehara Yuuichirou that I want to get off my chest.

As the Fall Anime Season approached me, I looked for different series I could watch in my spare time. Besides the ones I already wanted to watch I thought to myself I should check out MAL for an official listing of all the anime confirmed for the season. I thought to myself: "Hm...why not?". My curiosity was at it's peak.

As I scrolled the long list of anime, some of them that reached my interest, I immediately noted them down. One of them happened to be this long-titled isekai romance with a title I couldn't even understand. The poster of the anime didn't really peak my interest but I noted it down anyway.

The first episode aired and then the second one, the third one.

I was hooked.

"I'm the Villainess so I'm Taming the Final Boss" or Akulas for short hooked me from the first episode. The opening, the ending, the story, the MC and of course Claude, the Demon King, played by no one else than Umehara Yuuichirou.

What I'm trying to say is that Akulas introduced me to Umehara-san and I couldn't be more grateful. The tone of his voice? The raspy and velvety sound of his voice? Hearing him talking about how he wants to spoil his then fiancee to the rotten, just made me shiver. I had to look him up.

And that's where it all started...and now I feel like a teenager again, who fell in love with the boy who offered her his pencil because she forgot hers in the other backpack.

And when I looked him up it truly felt like home..somehow. I loved everything about him, his face, his style and his movements. His mannerisms and the way he talks in interviews. His calm demeanor and the way he says "Oi" when things get awkward around him. The way he forces out a laugh because he is out of energy and just wants to synchronize with the others. His weird humor and vulgar words that has 0 correlation with his personality. But I love that honesty.

I tried to clean up this photo of him since it's one of my favourites so far. I know it's the 1000th time I'm mentioning his beauty, but can I do it again? And again?

In the back of my mind I hope that one day I will meet him.

And in the deeper corners of my mind, a part of me wishes that "me" would never existed and another "me" would emerge, one who is closer to him.

I'm pretty sure we all love our idols, or seiyuus in this case, but didn't you ever wish you can be friends with them? See them everyday? Talk to them about their daily life. Or just be there to see their career take off?

I will always have Umehara-san in my mind and heart because he truly makes he happy. He offered me so much peace in a time where i felt angry, sad and lonely. I loved the sound of his voice, it made my heart tremble with happiness.

I want to meet him and I want to see him in real life.

But most I can do now is to support his career and watch it as it blooms. So far he has a few roles confirmed for 2023 which is great! I will name a few that come at the top of my mind.

More of them to be confirmed. We will be very luck if we get him in Jigokuraku or Jujutsu Kaisen. He could do a great Toji. Or we get even luckier and get him as the main character in My Happy Marriage.

No matter what kind of character he will play, I will be there to support it, watch his lives, save his pictures, think about him when a love song starts playing and talk about him just like I did now.

And as I'm entering the conclusion for this little essay, I want to bring attention to the fact that he is also in a band!

It's called Sir Vanity and they have an album out! Go check it out and stream it. Their genre is rock and a very good one. Some of the tracks have been written by Umehara himself and surprise, surprise he writes about break ups. He can sing really well and guitar too. The other 3 members are talented as well so please support them! They will have a new song out so please follow their social media! They have an official Twitter account.

So, as I'm typing my final words I'm hoping that you, my dearest reader, had the patience to at least read a bit about Umehara. Maybe you will end up loving him as much as I do.

Friends is so so so so good. I think it feels a lot more like Akari gen than anything else, and also oh my god it is so gay I can't even begin to explain but I have to

Love Me Tear/Karen and Mirai are basically girlfriends they are very cute, and good older sister types to the girls- espescially Mirai! Her fashion sense may be VERY questionable but she's really fun. Aine and Mio are adorable, I love their friendship and Aine is like the personification of a smile to me

season 2 is completely off the rails. the entire show is hijacked by a new girl whowent to space to do aikatsu on the moon in private because her idol girlfriend broke up with her. her solo is about how much she loves and misses her. their eventual unit song is literally a love song. (also the anniversary song for aifure, Brightest is extremely married of them)

I love her. her entire deal is that she's artsy and bold and misses her girlfriend very very much. The ENTIRE main cast drops everything to fly to Alicia's kingdom to help Hibiki win her back and also save an entire nation..??????????? and magic is real??? it's insane like you could literally just watch the character intro episodes of s1 and then watch s2 and you'd be fine 😂

I literally cant recommend friends enough I don't know what they were on when they decided to to that do it but GOOD DECISION

In terms of singing I think my favorites would be Mizuki (I'm a big fan of her Star☆Anis seiyuu Ritsuko!!! I love when she does jazzy songs, my favorite song she's in is Thrillling Dream, sooo pretty), Aoi, & #1 is Akari! A lot of people didn't enjoy Ruka's voice and I get why but idk she's one of my favorite singers 😂

Oh btw!! Ritsuko is currently on break from the group but Fuuri & Waka (Aoi, Ichigo) are all in a group together called Mia Regina! LOOOTS of good rock songs and they covered STARDOM from stars<3 their character voices aren't actually acting, it's their voices, so it's like a missing Mizuki/Ichigo/Aoi unit

I really love Akari’s voice too! I don’t think it’s bad at all, I think she actually sounds a bit like me! Hopefully that doesn’t mean I sing bad…. But I’m in choir so I think I’m okays I like singing her songs because of that lol. Yume has the worst voice of the mains, I feel. Nothing against her VA at all I’m just not sure what the direction was going for…

Ooh I’ll have to check out Mia Regina! It’s really sweet that the VAs stayed together after Aikatsu ended :)

A Character That You Think Deserved More Love? Eiichi, definitely. I know he’s messed up a lot and I don’t agree with what he did, but it’s (not really but it’s there) simple to see he means well. I know what it’s like to do something I thought as good but ended up hurting someone else through it, which in turn hurt me. He had good intentions, but went with them the wrong way. I do understand why people feel so upset and angry towards him; in a way, he has been shown in a bad light. Then again, HEAVENS in general during their very first appearance in Season 2 were depicted to be like the main villains of the series. Then again, that’s probably just me overanalyzing again. Sorry for the rambling ;w:

A Character You Want to Cosplay/Have Already Cosplayed? I’d like to try Cesshi, but I don’t know if my skin’s dark enough for that so I don’t wanna risk any chances. An alternative may be Natsuki, but then I’d be a short kinda chubby-looking Natsuki. Kira’d be nice too though! But I’m probably a little too expressive for him;;; Nagi’d be a nice fit as well, I dunno :3

Favorite Side Character? I’m not really sure if Satsuki counts as a side character since he really only shows up during Natsuki-centered episodes. If not him, then Tomochika! She. Just she.

Your Favorite Solo Song? I found myself enjoying Cesshi’s solo songs a lot. Destiny Song really brings me in. Brand New Melody has a lil something to it that makes me really happy though. I don’t know what it is, but it gives me a nice feeling inside. I also really like SUKIxSUKI Hanamaru and Hatsukoi o Mata Hajimeyou!! Those are both really nice songs that make me feel really fluffy happy inside >w<! And Melting of Snow. And Hurrayx2 Dreamers. And there’s a lot of solo songs I like. Oops.

And I managed to FC it first try. Haha whoops ;w;

Your Least Favorite Song Beatmap? Nothing really comes to mind except for the lower difficulty ones. When you play a lot of Pro songs, the lower ones just kinda get boring.

Black Dejavu or White Gravity? White Gravity definitely. I can’t believe Masato said “lol bye” and joined the Kawaii and Royal Groups. Also, Natsuki’s high notes. They told him to do it twice and he said “okay :D”. I know it has a more uniform(?) singing distribution and order, but that just personally fits me and my ears better :3

UtaPri Merch That You Own/Watch? I have a Prince Cat of Citron!! And a Natsuki face towel that came along with him. I wanna get either Lime or Aqua next, but I can’t choose who. Lime because second best boi, Aqua because third best boi and shipping reasons. Also, you ever follow accounts that have Prince Cats of different sizes and have them act out as if they’re like a lil family? I want that life. How did You Get into UtaPri? Shining Live. I saw that Klab had another idol rhythm game on the app store and went “Why not? I haven’t had one with guydols yet?” and look where we are now;;;

A Set Theme in Shining Live That You Want to See in the Future? I’ve been having a bunch of gacha set and event ideas on a note on my phone. Like street dancer, fairytales, zodiac, zookeeper, cyber, and seven deadly sins/four horsemen as gacha ideas (some I already made art concepts for;;;). And for events, I got carhop, first date kinda thing, and ice/figure skating. In short, I want a lot :3

Why Do You Love Your Best Boy? At first, it was because he adores cute things and I adore cute things and he’s cute so I adore him. After learning more about him, I do see more similarities between the two of us. The feeling of being betrayed and growing defensive because of it, his defense being Satsuki and mine is trying to use words to help me. The need to grow stronger to not be seen as a burden, to try and not rely and depend on others to fight our battles for us. There’s probably more I can dwell upon, but that’s all I can think about for now.

Yu Yu Hakusho Stage Review!!!

Before I start going over the show I want to stress just how INCREDIBLY lucky I got, because I got to see the show via a same-day lottery ticket, after failing EVERY lottery and general sales, and it was INTENSE!!!  On the Thursday when I lined up twice, there were easily 400 people in the line for both the matinee and soiree shows and even when my number was drawn, it was actually 2nd on the waiting list, not one of the original winners, and I may or may not have been seriously contemplating throwing some people down the escalators to move up on the list.  But three people canceled or didn’t show so I got to get in and I was bouncing off the walls inside, WHATEVER POWER WATCHES OVER ME, I owe it my eternal soul for the opportunity!

They opened the show with HOHOEMI NO BAKUDAN and I almost screamed from the nostalgia honestly.  They basically did an opening sequence with the song, mimicking the anime opening by having them fight one by one against a group of enemies... which is why a lot of those press release photos have Kurama fighting with his rose whip (when we don’t actually see his rose whip until later in the story that’s not in this play [ALSO HOW DOES HE MAKE FIGHTING WITH THE WHIP LOOK SO GODDAMN COOL INSTEAD OF AWKWARD?!?!?]), and why there are shots with Hiei letting out the Black Dragon or Kuwabara dual-wielding spirit swords.  I know some of us were curious how much story they were going to cover or how much they were going to skip, and it’s not because of some massive skip.  The story runs from the very beginning with Yusuke dying, spending time as a ghost, and then to just after retrieving the three artifacts of darkness.  They give us a hint of the four of them about to enter the castle of the Saint Beasts, so that might be where the next play (crosses fingers) will pick up the story.  

The format of the story has Koenma (adult ver.) narrating (sometimes with Genkai) as he’s watching “old” videos of the group and reminding himself how far Yusuke has come.  Based on his conversation with Genkai at the beginning, the “present” in the play is just before the Dark Tournament, and everthing else in the play is Koenma watching those videos (also why there are press photos of him with a remote control).  This is also why they could fit the Kurama and Hiei meeting backstory, because it’s Koenma watching old videos and wanting to look back on them too.  

And also Arayan as Koenma is SO FUCKING FUNNY we were all cracking up a LOT.  He can actually enunciate quite well with that pacifier in his mouth!  And he’s always changing back and forth between his adult version and baby version because he’s either watching/narrating or in the flashbacks himself as a baby.  He also really liked breaking the fourth wall while narrating so for some of the cute Yusuke-Keiko moments, for example, he was like, “What a cute young romance—WHO EVEN HAS A ROMANCE LIKE THAT IN MIDDLE SCHOOL HUH!?”

I haven’t watched Arayan live since 2015 when I saw him as Lao in a Kuroshitsuji Musical, so it was wonderful to see him again and in a role that allows him to do so much more and be such a ham.  

Tsubasa as Yusuke was amazing, fantastic, splendid, show-stopper.  I liked his Renji from when he was in the 2016 Burimyu, and so I thought I had some idea what his yankee characterization would be like (because obviously his Ishikirimaru isn’t a great reference point lol), but it’s even better!  He was so funny and so warm, and when he had the scene making the little kid laugh, I have NO idea how he was able to pull those faces.  He looked basically exactly like anime Yusuke pulling faces and I was wheezing so bad in my seat.  Mostly, I just couldn’t believe that he really unzipped his pants (while turned away from us) to stuff that kid’s ball into his crotch and dance around with it.  

Speaking of the little boy, we gotta give props to Genkai’s actress because she played so many side characters throughout lololol.  She couldn’t be Genkai for very long or often, so she was also Keiko’s shy, glasses-wearing friend in school, she was also Maya-chan (Kurama’s classmate that he and Hiei have to rescue) in the Two Shots scene, she was the little boy Yusuke saves (she tries not to talk as him), and she’s also obviously young Genkai.  Because she plays so many roles, there’s a narration bit where Koenma tells Genkai, “You know, in these videos, I keep seeing a lot of kids that look like you.”  And she tells him he’s imagining things.  

Plot-wise, they did skip one major scene from when Yusuke was a ghost, and that was the scene where his apartment caught fire and he had to “sacrifice” his spirit egg to save Keiko.  

Oh but I loved the bit where he had to possess Kuwabara to go tell Keiko not to cremate his body, because the way they did it was to have Tsubasa and Naoya do everything in unison together.  So all the choreography has Naoya as Kuwabara fighting all the guys that come at him, and Tsubasa just a little ways away doing the exact same thing, only he’s not hitting anybody.  And although it had been Naoya doing all of the talking so that we hear Kuwabara’s voice, at the point when he’s talking to Keiko and the lines start to get sentimental, they turn up Tsubasa’s mic so that they overlap for a little bit, and then they turn down Naoya’s mic so that at the end, we only hear Yusuke’s voice asking Keiko to wait for him.  He was also slowly moving off-stage while Kuwabara(‘s body) was talking to Keiko, so that the end of that scene has just Kuwabara and Keiko on-stage, but we hear Tsubasa-Yusuke's voice.  So I really loved how that was done because it mimicked the anime really well.  

I loved being able to see Kuwabara’s promise-between-men played out on-stage.  His squad was cut down to just two guys instead of three, since you really only need Okubo for that bit, and they needed to divide the ensemble cast between Kuwabara’s boys and the other punks who want to beat on Kuwabara all the time.  Naoya as Kuwabara was everything I wanted and more.  His voice, his expressions, his everything was just SO. GOOD.  And it was so funny to think how long I’ve been a fan of Naoya (since 1st cast Tenimyu days basically) and how I’ve never actually seen him live in a show until this.  So that was a real treat and a real blast of nostalgia on multiple levels.  I’m so happy he was the one to bring Kuwabara to life on-stage, he was wonderful, and I’m so grateful I got to see him.  

Yuka-tan's Botan was SO SO SO CUTE?!?!?!?  Oh my gosh she felt so perfect to me in every way, and I loved her dynamic with Yusuke and Koenma, there was so much cute banter.  I liked when Yusuke was laughing in Koenma’s face and Botan kept spanking him because, in case we forgot, he’s like actually 14 years old at this point in the story.  Sometimes she was the one watching the old clips together with Koenma so she also switches between being in the story to being part of the narration.  

If you wanted a critical review, this is not the place to look because I pretty much only found it wonderful and amazing and nostalgic and amazing but I do have one minor criticism and that is that Yusuke’s post-resurrection outfit for helping Kuwabara rescue Eikichi was not his fashion icon look from the anime.  He just had a regular color jacket instead.  Ugh, way to make him look “cool” stage staff. Lol  

The Two Shots scenes were interspersed between Yusuke’s ghost antics and I really do think my heart stopped when I first hear Hiroki speak.  I haven’t been a fan of Hiroki for as long as I’ve been a fan of Naoya, but he’s another one that I’ve seen so often in so many shows, but this was my first time seeing him live and he just has such a presence that it’s no wonder we call him HiroKing.  It was also fun to see Shouhei again since I haven’t seen him live since his last show as Noya for Haisute, and he’s as amazing as I remember.  Pretty sure he’s having a lot of fun playing early evil Hiei honestly.  Since both Hiroki and Shouhei have a lot of experience in other shows with sword-fighting (*cough TKRB/Hakuouki*), those bits looked really fucking cool.  

But YYH is heavy on hand-to-hand combat, not sword-fighting, and I have to say that they did a nice job with that too!  There were places where I felt like they got nice and creative with it, and it’s fun to see Naoya give Kuwabara a little extra flair with his.  The ensemble cast were integral to all of those fight scenes, and they had to do a lot of falling and flying around, and they also need a loud round of applause.  

Gouki’s actor ripped off his shirt TWICE!!! Not once, but two times!!!  And I mean RIPPED, like not stage rip, like he RIPPED that shirt.  So I’m assuming they just ordered a box of cheap t-shirts for him to rip through for the rest of the tour.  Mind you, I was not complaining about the shirtlessness.   It was also interesting because after Gouki’s defeat, they put him in spirit world as one of Koenma’s ogre servants as a replacement for George in the second act, so he and Koenma have some fun moments since he’s quite reformed once dead.  

As I mentioned, they do give us a sneak peek of the four of them meeting up just outside the Four Saint Beasts castle, with Kuwabara picking a fight with Hiei and all.  However, we did skip over Genkai’s tournament, which comes just before that so it’s possible we might not get that little arc on-stage even in the next show.  Maybe to avoid rushing Liz into Genkai’s old lady makeup, maybe because nobody cares about Rando anyway.  

The closing bows were also done to Hohoemi no Bakudan (I was maybe a teeny tiny bit hoping for Homework ga Owaranai), and during the closing remarks, Tsubasa very excitedly told us that during the afternoon show, Yusuke’s anime seiyuu, Sasaki Nozomu came to see them!  He was wiggling side to side and said, “I got a picture with him yaaay~” and then he asked us to come see them again in the Spirit World, to which Naoya started making confused faces.   Naoya: Sp-spirit world? Tsubasa: No?   Naoya: The story’s mostly in the human world, isn’t it? Tsubasa: Ahhh.... yeah! Naoya: You’re exhausted, aren’t you?

My Thoughts on K - Seven Stories

I binge-watched this a couple of weeks ago. I nearly forgot about these until I found the subs. Haha

Here are my thoughts and a few screenshots (like one for almost each movie). I’ll just say a few things, I guess? Except for LSW (movie 4) and Circle Vision (movie 6) and Idol K (shorts) which will have their own posts cause I have the feels.

Movie 1, “R:B - Blaze” shows us the beginning of how Munakata Reisi got his powers as the Blue King and his first meeting with Red King, Suou Mikoto.

It’s nice to see more stuff about the two clans and how things went before the series began -  from within their groups and how they thought of each other. There are also more bits and pieces of the Kagutsu Incident and we get to see the former Blue and Red Kings at their final battle which is awesome.

Movie 2, “Side:Blue” - Like Sirius is about Kusuhara Takeru and Zenjou Gouki. Kusuhara is a member of Scepter4 who wanted to get in the Special Forces (You know, the group that fights directly under the Blue King which we see in the series) alongside his friends and everyone’s really supportive of him which is so nice. However, he’s not as good as they are yet and is told he’d only get in if he can get at least 1 clean hit on Awashima Seri on their spar. So far, no good.

Zenjou Gouki is the former Blue King’s right-hand man. He’s now retired and is working in Internal Affairs. He also watches over the training. Kusuhara ends up working under him later on and is also being trained by him when Kusuhara was given a time limit on his condition to join. Failure this time, though, means Kusuhara will lose his job.

This movie is... he got the job of course. Also, it didn’t end well. On his first day, too like why? Wtf?! I ended up crying when they told Zenjou what happened.

And I know Munakata is just trying to put logic into this and is actually feeling bad about what happened, too but freaking hell, man! That is not what you tell people who are grieving! I know you’re trying to rile them up and piss Zenjou off on purpose for a reason but still... you sound like a real jerk. This is why people think badly of you even though you’re not really that bad.

Also, this reveals why Munakata wants to have Zenjou out of retirement: Zenjou moves on instinct. Actions before thought: he does what’s needed and what's best especially in battle. He was the one who killed the Blue King before another Damocles Down happens after Kagutsu’s fell. He felt really bad for it and probably didn’t want to do it at all as Habari is his friend but it was for the best and so he moved without a second though. Munakata knows that Zenjou will do it again if needed. Munakata has Zenjou as some kind of fail-safe: if he’s become a danger like say, his sword is gonna fall, Zenjou would be able to kill him.

That kinda sucks to be honest. Zenjou was the one who took his own king’s life and he’s gonna be made to do it again if needed be. We all know how season 2 ended so it’s all good but still...

RIP Kusuhara Takeru. You’re one of the Best Boys and you deserved better.

Movie 3, “Side:Green - The Overwritten World” gives us Goujou Sukuna’s backstory. He came from a rich family but with very controlling parents. Finding out his only friend was a fake picked by his parents was the last straw which had him run away from home. He uses the JUNGLE points he earns playing the game so he could escape those trying to capture him to get him back to his parents.

This also shows how he met the Green Clan. How he met Hirasaka Douhan and their first fight against Mishakuji Yukari, which while I wasn’t able to get a screenshot (sorry) to show you, is really pretty. You know how the art for this show is all shiny and kind of have this realistic look, right? Their fight is more 2D-ish but has a purple hue. It’s better if you see it but it’s really, really pretty!

In the end, it also shows how Sukuna became a member of the Green Clan and that he and Hisui Nagare has some things in common. It made this group more interesting, sympathetic, and more human despite being the main bad guys if season 2. It made me like them a lot.

Movie 5, “Memory of Red - Burn” is centered around HOMRA and them planning Anna’s birthday party. I thought “Oh, a fun cute, episode with the Red Clan? Nice!”.

Then Tatara crosses paths with the Colorless King.

The it hit me...

Oh... no.

Yes, this movie is a direct prologue of the first season’s episode 1. How Totsuka Tatara died that fateful night. He’s a really nice guy, you know. They were having so much fun. Anna’s birthday was coming up, too.

When I saw the Colorless King, I started panicking. I told myself “It can’t be, right?” so when Tatara got back to the bar I was relieved. I thought it was safe but then he just had to freaking leave again! I was... I was muttering “No, please... someone please stop him...” while he was looking at everyone, unbeknownst to all of them, for the last time. I know I’m being overly dramatic here cause I already know his death is a foregone conclusion but still... I was getting really attached to these characters as the movie went on. I got to know a bit more about Tatara and why everyone is willing to murder a guy to avenge him in the series. It hurts, man. Even when I knew it still freaking hurts. I was crying when it finally happened.

I said before I started liking them more cause of movie 3 but this, knowing they’re the reason why Tatara died made me hate them the moment I saw it. I still like the characters but I don’t think I could ever forgive them for this.

No Blood, No Bone, No Ash.

Nothing left, not even ashes. Only memories of you in the ones you love. The cremation scene is just as sad to watch. What’s supposed to be a birthday celebration became a funeral.

RIP Totsuka Tatara. You’d be remembered, never forgotten and will always be an important and beloved member of HOMRA.

Knowing what happened at the end of season 1, I hope you and Mikoto are happy watching the outcome of the final battle.

Just wanna point out before anything else that it’s got a bunch of ED songs for each movie but more importantly, the OP “Survive!” by Angela is a total banger. I ended up listening to it on repeat alongside “Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!” by the Idol K seiyuus. It’s so good. And the OP video is so pretty! There’s a difference in character designs this time around from the original series though and I’m sure you’d realize it when you finally watch it: their eyes are a bit bigger. It made them look younger and it’s something to get used to. I liked the older version but this wasn’t so bad. Still, for K fans, it depends on you what you think.

Anyways, the entire movie series was so good but I wish there were more. So many more backstories unexplained. I know they’re in the LN and manga spin-offs plus some extras on drama CDs and stories posted online but come on, they deserve an adaptation, too!

I really wish they’d made more for this series. If I had the money I’d buy the dvds for these. Or the artbooks. Have you seen the artbooks? The art for posters and stuff are all so pretty! I’d love a copy of them to be honest.

My Review of Fruits Basket (2019): 1st Season

arb’s high quality live reflections: Aqours 3rd Live Tour Fukuoka Day 1

I had actually written one of these for Saitama, but I ended up not finishing it until after Osaka. Oops.

The venue

Since I have school Monday morning, I couldn’t fly and instead went to the notorious Shinjuku Piccadilly, former home of fights and ietaiga, for LV. Though, things seem to have calmed down quite a bit since the beginning of the year. And I mean quite a bit. The theater was honestly deader than NA DV for the first two hours or so. After a few surprises, the energy started rising, and by the end we were fine, but the first half or so of the live definitely could have used more energy.

Since it’s my first time LV instead of DV or venue, I expected my experience to be like a “lesser” version of what people actually at Fukuoka got. But that definitely wasn’t the case. Even without being there, just being the first to experience the events of a live, not knowing what’s about to happen next, makes things feel so much more real and special. I’m not just remembering things I saw on Twitter or Discord anymore; I’m experiencing things with my own two eyes.

As a funny side note, there was actually an earthquake in the region towards the end. Everyone suddenly reacted to it, but it was only a magnitude 3 so the show continued on. 

Segments of note

Opening MC

God this became an absolute circus. Arisha forgot to do her buubuu desuwa and everyone was confused, then Ainya forgot to do her Lock On. Arisha does the first diahooo but then doesn’t bother with the second one, and says that the buubuu is on her today. Then FKT forgets how to speak Japanese and starts doing calisthenics. Fun times were had by all.

MIRACLE WAVE

This was a really interesting one. The song starts off, and as always, Anchan is in the back. But rather than just nervousness on her face, like the last 4 times, she had an incredibly pained looked on her face. Like she was really worried about something. Of course, her flip goes well and the song ends as it should, but in the MC right after she just breaks down. She gives her rehearsed lines with tears in her eyes, almost bringing Rikyako to tears off on the side as well, and when Suwawa gives her the hug, she just holds her tight and cries. 

This wasn’t like Saitama Day 2 when you could just see the sadness on her face. It felt like she was finally letting go of something, and her emotions were let loose with it. A really powerful moment for me because she has so much pressure and tries so hard to be the best leader that she can, and often times puts up a strong front to lead the rest of the group from. But at the same time, she’s as human as everyone else. Seeing her let go like that honestly made me feel relieved.

Fukuoka Special Intermission

Kanan is literally God. Nothing else needs to be said.

This is my first time looking at the screen and not at Aikyan herself and damn I’m glad I went to at least one viewing. In terms of stage presence and dance ability she is second to none. It was already an amazing performance to begin with, and I was able to gain a new appreciation for it thanks to some excellent camera work and stage lighting.

Pianoforte Monologue

Everything started fine, but halfway through the mood changed. I think it just wasn’t Rikyako’s day. She wasn’t hitting her notes like she normally does for the song, and I think it started getting to her. She had this very clear dissatisfied and frustrated look on her face, and at times it seemed like she was going to cry. She recovered by the end of the song and ended well, but it was a rough performance to say the least. 

HAPPY PARTY TRAIN

When they first came on stage wearing the costumes, everyone in the venue was shouting but we still couldn’t see on camera. Once the lights came on, everyone went crazy. This is a personal favorite song of mine, as it has a lot of meaning to me, and the performance of it this time was actually excellent. MVP goes to Suwawa for actually hitting (most of) her notes. 2L was definitely rough but she’s gotten a lot better since then.

DROPOUT!?

I’ve wanted Saint Snow to do one of their own songs this tour, but after Saitama and Osaka I gave up on that. But at long last, my wish came true. The duo looked really nervous going into it, and even during it at times when the camera closed in on their faces, but they nailed the performance. After this, the theater definitely woke up and was hype as hell for the rest of the live. Hoping to see a different song tomorrow so I can get even more Saint Snow.

WATER BLUE NEW WORLD

This is one of the songs people kept saying was really good in LV, and I can see why. While getting the whole view of the venue is quite nice, this song definitely lends itself more to close camera work. It follows the anime performance much better, and in doing so it brings back a lot of the memories and emotions I had watching episode 12 as it aired. The only thing I missed from the venue is the part in the bridge where on each measure, a ball of light flashes in the center stage that corresponds to one of the girls’ character colors. That was a really nice touch that unfortunately can’t be focused on in LV because of the important of the dance during that segment.

Kiseki Hikaru

If you think the song by itself is good, you absolutely have to watch the performance of it. Because of the OST track that it draws its main melody from, and the context in which it was released, it might feel like a farewell song, but when performed live, that gets turned around completely. Rather than making me want to cry, it gave me hope for the future. For both the franchise and myself. 

As the song changes key and reaches its climax, the stage lights all turn on together and get so bright that they almost block your vision of the seiyuu in the center stage. Imagine seeing this image, but head on instead of from the side. It’s meant to resemble the sun rising, and it definitely was the highlight of the live for me.

Encore

They say white people have no rhythm, but that’s a god damn lie. It’s the Japanese that have none. We started doing the Aqours chants in the theater and a group of guys to the right of me start going completely off beat. They weren’t trying to ruin it either; they just had absolutely no sense of rhythm. For the next 5 minutes they keep starting and stopping to join back in but they cannot for the life of them figure it out. Only when the lights flash to the beat in the venue do they discover rhythm and start joining in with the rest of the theater.

Hop Step Wai!

I guess this marks the official retirement of Landing Action Yeah!!. I gave that song massive shit at first because I really didn’t like it, but over time it really grew on me, especially with how we sing it at so many events. Hop Step Wai! is already a pretty good song in my opinion, so I’m looking forward to hearing it again throughout the next year.

Yuuki wa Doko ni? Kimi no Mune ni!

Drama aside, this is probably my top Aqours song. It means so much to me, and being able to not only hear it live, but to sing along so many times over the past month has been an absolute privilege. The kicker, though, was the surprise in the bridge. The last 4 performances have just been the regular full version of the song, but this time, they added in the episode 11 version, too. I actually decided that I wanted to go to 3rd Live after I saw episode 11 and knew that I had to be there for that moment if they ever did it. I’m glad they did. It caught me by surprise, and my emotions just welled up. I had to hold myself back from crying for the rest of the song so I could sing properly.

As a side note, who the fuck does ietaiga to Yuukimi lmao. Grow up.

Closing MC

Another emotional moment. Furirin was in tears during her closing comments. She was crying like a baby, but still was able to walk up and thank every one of her fellow members personally. That meant a lot to me. I’ve always seen Furirin as one of the more detached members, as I never really knew if she was holding something back because she had to be “Ruby” rather than “Furihata Ai”. But this moment told me that just like everyone else, she’s really thankful to be a member of Aqours.

During Rikyako’s comments, she still had this sense of dissatisfaction in her words. At one point, she gave a big sigh. The others quickly joked it off, but I think she wasn’t quite pleased with how today went. As always with her, though, she’ll definitely rebound from this.

Final Thoughts

What a start to the final leg of the tour. It’s been a crazy few weeks for everyone involved, and this is definitely the best way to cap it all off. There were a few hiccups here and there, but overall, it was a great live, filled with both good performances and lots of emotion. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Pregame Personality AU (NDRV3)

Finally ! Finally I’m going to talk about this au that I love so much ! It’s kinda a fanfiction to itself but since I’ve never finished the fan fiction I wrote I’m going to talk about it here. Let’s go !

WARNING ! : Contain major spoilers for the whole game !

Here we go ! So basically, the story is that it’s danganronpa, but each character kept their memories and personality from before the game. The only things erased from their memories is the whole danganronpa existence. So it’s a killing game between normal students that don’t know how to deal with it.

Relationships, victims and culprits, and personality changed. Here is what happen for each character :

Kaede akamatsu : Kaede stay the protagonist until the end this time. She acts almost excactly like Byakuya during most of the game and don’t believe in anyone. She is sarcastic, and has a really dark sense of humor. She plays piano in her free time but she thinks her level is lame and stressed out each time she has to play it. The only person she can tolerate around her until the 6th chapter is Shuichi.

Shuichi Saihara : Shuichi dies executed in the 6th trial. He is the Hagakure/Souda of the group until the 5th trial. He got exagerate reaction to almost everything and is scared really easily. He is the only one with memory loss until Chapter 5 since Danganronpa was an important part of his life. Even so he sometimes get important clues during the trial and is even really useful… Well… Until the last trial.

Rantaro Amami : He stays alive until the end (he deserved it). He fully remember the last killing game he was in but forgot the reason why. He acts like a big brother to most of the characters and as a leader for the others. He is less impuslive than the Rantaro in NDRV3 so he tells the others immediatly about the secret room, even if no one can get in. He is also very close to Kokichi and Tenko as he considers both of them as his gay lil’ bro/sis.

Kokichi Ouma :He kills himself just before getting executed to ruin Monokuma’s fun. If I have to resume his personality : Mikan. He cries a lot and puke each time he saw a dead body (usually with Monophanie next to him). But he is actually not easily scared and is one of the most calm during an investigation. And when he wants he roasts everyone so well and naturally that no one want to defy him. At first everyone thought that he would be one of Kaito’s victim of bully but Kaito don’t want to because : “he’s so pathetic that it wouldn’t be even fun”. Even if everyone know that it’s because of Rantarou and Tenko presence. Kokichi like both of them a lot to even call them big bro abd big sis… Well… Until the 5th trial.

Tenko Chabashihara : She dies while protecting Himiko from an Exisal attack. She is way more calm than in the game, but when she is excited she acts like in NDRV3. She is the one that refute any illogical statement in the trial like Tsumugi. She got a crush on Himiko but flirt with her in a way more subtle way than in the game, even if Himiko is disgust by her. When she made her coming-out Kokichi cheered her and told her that it’s the same for him. They became friends since then and she throw accross the room anyone who dares disrespect him. Since Kokichi was also really close to Rantaro she started getting along with him too.

Kaito Momota : Dies killed in the 4th chapter while trying to commit murder. Kaito… is Leon if he survived. A complete *ssh*le and anti-feminist guy. He gets along with nobody (especially Miu who really hate him) and tries to kill everyone in the 4th chapter, until he gets killed.

Himiko Yumeno : Survives until the end. Because of her past she is really rude and associal. Especially to Tenko. the only person she tolerates is Rantarou (because of the big bro aura) and Ryoma (beacuse he’s shorter than her). She claims multiple time that she is disgust by Tenko and Kokichi and don’t want to be in the same room as them. But in the end, it’s when both of them die that she cries the most. She even start to get feeling for Tenko before she dies. In the end she says : “I was stupid to denied those feelings of me, because the time I spent with Tenko was probably the best time I spent with someone in my whole life”.

Ryoma Hoshi : Dies killed during the 2nd chapter. He is even more suicidal than in NDRV3. The others are forced to watch him all the time so that he don’t do something stupid (because this idiot always wants to kill himself alone when he knows that it could be taken as a murder). He indeed let himself killed in the end.

Kirumi Toujo : Dies executed during the 2nd chapter. She is really composed and lady like. Gonta appreciates her a lot because of that. But during the 2nd trial she breaks down like Nagisa in UDG and almost begs to be executed.

Gonta Gokuhara : Dies killed during the 3rd chapter while trying to commit murder. He is a reformed delinquant and try desperatly to be a good guy. He is actually almost like in the game (except the gentleman thing) and more violent (but he didn’t hurt anybody in the end). He is also way less naive.

K1-B0 : He dies like in the game. Kiibo is cold to almost everybody without being rude, more like Maki in NDRV3. He pretends to be human until the end of 2nd chapter where Shuichi forces him to reveal his true identity. He is really afraid at first by what people will thinks but most of them accept it. He is really close to Miu, close to the point he’s possessive. He is, because of that, the main suspect during the 3rd trial. He broke his antenna by himself after the 3rd trial and swear a lot after that.

Miu Iruma : Dies executed during the 3rd chapter. She is like fake Junko in DR1, but she swear more. She is carefree and hate when people define her by her body : “I’m not defined by my boobs !”. She likes robotics and science a lot, she is not as good as that than in NDRV3 but she is better than anyone else in the cast. She don’t know the difference about Kiibo behavior towards the others and towards her. She killed Gonta to protect Kiibo.

Maki Harukawa : Dies killed during the 1st chapter. She is even more calm and quiet than in NDRV3. She also likes both creepy and cute stuff. She is in couple with Korekiyo (Seiyuu joke).

Korekiyo Shinguuji : Dies killed during the 1st chapter. Less creepy than in the game and way less sociable. He likes creepy stuff, he got a tone of brothers. He is in couple with Maki (Seiyuu joke).

Angie Yonaga : Dies executed during the 1st chapter. She is from California and half japanese. She is cute and nice at first but during the trial she break down and become so angry that she freaks out everyone. She killed both Korekiyo and Maki to make it look like a love suicide. Her father is in a sect.

Tsumugi Shirogane : Dies killed during the 5th chapter. She is the same as in the game except the “I’m banal” thing. She is the mastermind until she gets killed, at that moment the person who killed her became the mastermind. She knows nothings about the scenario even if she was the one who proposed to removed the talent from this season. She gets along with Shuichi really well… until she got killed.

Mastermind : Uses the sprite of the characters in the game to express himself. Is like the fusion between Junko and Nagito. And… hates Tsumugi with all his heart.

The survivors are Rantaro, Kaede and Himiko. Did you guess the mastermind ?

soooo this is really just for personal purposes

didnt really attend the live it was just a delayed live viewing at a local cinema~

this is just based off my memory lol idk how accurate my memory is...but i trust it to a certain extent....

hnnnnn there was many izumi bros moments i kind of dieded bc wing and massu...cute...

also trigger.......kept giving fanservice im pretty sure the entire cinema hall died a million times over. there was a funny story that satou takuya told, about him posing like a “beast” on the first day that his pants ripped and on the morning of the second day, there was about 20 staff-san who were sewing his pants LOL.

SOOOOO FIRST OFF LET ME START WITH DANCING BEAT. ohoho KENN DANCING AND TAMASOU HIGHFIVE U HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THE CINEMA HALL DIED

ame and dear butterfly!! ame was like really good yo kenn and abe-san were really cool for ame, and for dear butterfly, the graphics were really cool!! like abe-san raised his hand and a butterfly on the screen “coincidentally” landed on his palm and he kind of “let the butterfly free” if u get what i mean orz. also!! mezzo mezzo amazing!! and mezzolife dome!! 

i cant remember if it was during this time when they had mc but they basically decided to show off their outfits by turning in a circle and they decided to go from riku back since they did iori first on the first day lol. massu was not very happy (jokingly). egu (nagi) did a weird turn. egu’s well, weird. abe-san (sougo) was very elegant orz. kenn did his choreography for dancing beat! wing (mitsu) wanted to look cool since he got called cute on day 1 but he failed lol in the end everyone went “kawaii!!!!!!” HAHAHA. shirai yuusuke tried to do a cool turn, took off his glasses and put them back on without facing the crowd and everyone else was like “omg did u just put ur glasses back w/o facing the crowd wyd...” massu did a cool ish turn, but everyone was kind of unimpressed lol.

another mc moment but i dont remember when was it, but onoken was like, for dancing beat’s choreo there was a part where they were supposed to have their ring finger down but he just couldnt do it lol. but he managed to do it during the song itself and he was really happy about it! what a cutie....

next is tachi and soichiro hoshi orz these 2... the choreography was really cool aaaa and they kept on hyping up the crowd non stop through their songs and when theyre just mc-ing. 

then fure fure seishun sanka aaaaa bc it was a day b4 the twins’ birthday, massu (iori) asked the audience to sing a birthday song for them aa so nice ;; and the twins had to make fun of him after they sang the song ahhahaha they’re so cute ;; their performance was really good tho aa sasuga ainana and trigger’s centre and iori....

and danshi tarumono matsuri... pythag trio + gaku were so hyped omg everyone was so hyped 

next was love and game, and mezzo’ + ryuu did a really sexy dance which had the cinema dying another million times over.....i mean it....everyone was really hyped about it though, shouting “love game!” together with them!

then they showed some memorable lines from the anime and ~cue the angst and potential spoiler~ riku having to be replaced temporarily as centre by iori bc of his asthma.........cries we all died

and they showed restart pointer after that!!!!! THEY FOLLOWED THE BEGINNING OF THE PV, SO THERE WAS /THAT/ IORIKU MOMENT YES

then sakura message!!!! abe-san was playing the piano and singing orz what a talented man for the second half of the song the other 6 of them were sitting along the steps and they sang it really beautifully orz

good night awesome showed yamato in his drama acting, and everyone kind of laughed at shirai yuusuke bc his actions kind of looked funny orz idk how to describe this

thEN RE:VALE, DECIDES TO MAKE THEIR APPEARANCE AGAIN, IN KING THRONES, AND THE ENTIRE CINEMA HALL DIED AGAIN. istg re:vale please stop killing your fans orz but they looked really majestic and soichiro hoshi made a comment that the costume looked normal on tachibana since it fit him well and tachibana joked that he wears something similar to their costume on a daily basis to work LOL

next was memories melodies, nanatsuiro realise and party time together ahahha the crowd was really engaged during these 3 songs!!! esp nanatsuiro realise~

welps then was wish voyage, which i missed a part of bc i went off for a bit, but there was a really big airplane balloon!! and it “flew off” halfway into their performance aw. i7 even commented that the airplane was “freely roaming” lol. this was the supposed end to the live!

then encore! started off with thank you for your everything, the 7 members were all so hyped aaa they were running around the stage and hyping everyone up again!!!! and they still sang so well orz these people with such amazing voice control....kenn didnt really care though lol he just shouted his lyrics HAHAHA

natsu shiyouze! lol they grabbed water guns and started spraying water at the audience which was a reason why some of them forgot to sing their parts LOL. re:vale was called out in the second half of the song!

hmm more mc, people were crying because this segment was touching and them seiyuus really know how to make a speech....most memorable for me was when egu borrowed nagi’s words and asked the crowd “are you happy?” im so weak for him...and wing cried omg i cri too.... (announcement was i7 compilation album, re:vale’s 1st album and anime second season lol)

last!!! was welcome future world, and they asked the audience to sing together with them in their last song and everyone was so happy and hyped singing along with them orz how not to sing with them when they look so happy....

then when they finished all their songs, they went around saying thank you to the entire venue, bowing and waving and being so happy and grateful to everyone when everyone was instead grateful to them for holding such a great live.....

at the end, they stood on the main stage, held hands and without their mics, said their final “arigatou gozaimasu!” and it signaled the end as the curtain(?) closed on them as they kept bending down to wave goodbye to the audience lol.

and thats it! sorry it ended up so long or if i missed out anything!!!! will add stuff if i remember lol.

Nakamura Shugo talk event at Ginansai

Osaka City University invited Nakamura Shugo (VA of Kuga Issei) for an hour-long talk show at their school festival, naturally drawing a decent group of his fans. I arrived at the campus with some time to spare as I wanted to check out the students’ exhibits and stalls as well (first time at a gakusai!), but an hour before the show started the seating area was already half full, so I went to secure a seat for myself. It was still pretty decent spot, about 10-12m away from the stage, so I could see everything clearly.

About 20 minutes before the show, the MC’s asked the audience to volunteer questions for Shugon by filling in a form and placing it in a blind box for Shugon to draw from later. I didn’t submit anything as I was too lazy to leave my seat ^q^ Then, about 5 minutes before the show, Drive A Live played over the speakers and there was a buzz among the audience. Everyone chanted “315!!” at the part before the chorus wwwwww As expected, there were a lot of Idolm@ster side M fans in the crowd. And quite a number of guys too! You can tell from the turnout at his events that Shugon is quite popular with the dudes as well due to his huge, sunny personality :)

The show started and the MC’s invited Shugon on stage while we cheered and clapped. Shugon was 50000000 watts right from the get go ;w; He thanked us all for coming and waved at us with the BIGGEST grin, so cute T_T He was also holding something that looked like a statue of a cat in his palm, and explained that one of the students on the organising team called “Ume-chan” (audience: “Ume-chan?! Umehara?!!!) had made a shisa just for him, and he loved it so much that he couldn’t put it down www

MC: Who's from Osaka? Audience: *two-thirds put their hand up* MC: Oh wow, a lot of people not from here... Anyone from overseas? Me: ..... *raises hand* MC: !!! Where are you visiting from? Me: Australia. Audience: ?!!!!!!! Shugon: Take me back with you!!!! (>∀<) Me: jgflkglsdg;kfd

And then my mind went blank for a minute as I tried to process what had just happened.... But, moving on. Shugon said that it was his first time in a school festival and that he was super tempted to check out the event, as even from the briefing room he could hear how lively everything was.

Shugon: I asked my manager if I could go outside but they were like, "NO." And I was like, "...Gomen (´・ω・｀)" Audience: Cute.......

The hosts were both from the keion club, so Shugon, being a music nerd, had a lot of fun talking to them. I only remember this part vaguely (my mind was still reeling from Shugon asking me to take him home LOL) but I think they were discussing how Shugon got into music. For anyone not in the know, before becoming a seiyuu Shugon was part of an indie band called Akasaka Folk Village. He said that when he was younger (school-aged, I think?) he listened to regular pop music like everyone else, and it wasn't until he graduated from high school that he started to learn about a wider range of music genres.

When asked about his impression of Osaka, Shugon said that he's been here so many times (for work) that he considers it his third hometown, after Okinawa and Tokyo. He loves that everyone is so warm and friendly, and that all the food here is delicious, especially konamono (someone in the audience held up a Kaerru plush ww) like okonomiyaki and takoyaki, BBQ, and sushi.

After some time they moved on to the Q&A section. Shugon pulled out questions from the box and handed them over to the MC's to be read out.

Q: You obviously use your throat a lot in your work. How do you care for your throat? Shugon: I don't have ANY scientific backing lol, but I mix manuka honey in water and drink that every night. Honey's really good for the throat, and manuka honey is the best. It comes in different ratings, and the higher the rating the better. But the stronger ones are also really expensive! You don't need the expensive ones. Even regular manuka honey works really well.** Oh, during SQP my throat was in bad shape right before the concert, and when I told my manager they gave me a throat candy from Taiwan. After taking it my throat recovered immediately and I could sing even higher notes than usual!

Q: What kind of school life did you have? Shugon: In elementary school I was really shy and a crybaby, the type of kid that would run crying to his mother. In middle school I started to take an interest in sports, and you know how there are sports tests every year? In my third year I actually ranked second in the test!

Q: Any advice for students about to take their entrance exams? Shugon: I didn't do much studying as a student.... Whenever I'm invited to schools or unis for work, I see the students doing their best and think, ah, I should've tried harder in school! Sorry, what was the question? www MC: Advice for exams ww Shugon: Oh yeah! Good luck! Everyone, let's put our hands together to wish this person all the luck! *claps*

Q: What kind of hair style do you like to see on girls? Shugon: Mmmmm, this is a tough one... *Gestures to the person who submitted the question* What kind of hairstyle do you like on guys? Q: If you could participate in a school festival, which club would you join as? And what date course would you plan? Shugon: Date course?? You can do dates in school festivals????? MC: Everyone does it.... the haunted house is especially popular with couples. Shugon: HAUNTED HOUSE!!! THAT'S AWESOME! 8D Student on 2nd floor balcony waving sign for haunted house: WE'RE OVER HERE!!!! Shugon: *Waves back* There they are!! Everyone go visit them!! He then asked the MC's how they take part in the school festival as the keion club, and they replied that they usually perform songs by Back Number. MC: But not many people listen to Back Number... Shugon: Back Number's really good! Everyone listens to their songs! Even in Australia! *gestures to me* Me: !!??????????????? *doesn't actually know Back Number but shook that he still remembers me*

Shugon encouraged the MC to try his hand at writing songs, and talked about how it’s good to create music with your own feelings and experiences to share with the world. MC: I write sometimes, but the next day I look at my work and think, "Man, this is embarrassing!" Shugon: I know!!!! I think this happens to everyone who’s tried writing. It's usually late at night when you're struck by inspiration and start writing, and at the time you think, "Oh boy, I've got something AMAZING!" but the next morning you look at it and regret everything. MC: Even the song titles can be lame... Shugon: Yeah, you're like "Why did I think this was cool?"

Q: When you're traveling to/from work, what kind of music do you listen to? Shugon: I used to do that, but not anymore. These days I set aside time just to listen to music. At night when I'm at home, I sit in front of the speakers and think "Which songs should I listen to tonight?" and just sit quietly for hours, listening. Lately I've been playing a lot of Sakanaktion (and another female artist whose name I forgot ;;).

Q: Can you share any interesting backstage stories from the recording for Side M anime? Shugon: Honestly, it has the atmosphere of a boys school. The recording studios are usually quite small, but a lot of actors are involved, so it can get kinda cramped and hot even with the air-con on full blast. A lot of people bring food/snacks to share and during break time we're all stuffing our faces. Uchida Yuuma, who plays Kaoru (the audience starts to giggle already ww) will just start doing push ups in the middle of a conversation, but we're so used to it that we just keep talking ww Shugon: Ishikawa Kaito, who plays the producer, is really into training, and he showed me a new workout move *sit sideways on chair and bends body into a V shape, where only his bum is on the chair and his upper body and legs are lifted* I can't do it well right now, but this is supposed to be good for your abs >< And oh, recently I went to Disneyland with Itou Kento (VA of Hazama-sensei) and we had so much fun! I remember standing in a queue full of couples where we were the only pair of guys.... It was a very long queue www

The last segment was a rock-paper-scissors game between Shugon and the audience, and the last 3 standing would receive a signed board from Shugo. I lost very early on :( But I saw one of the winning girls break down and cry when she realised that she had won. I feel happy for her ;w; Oh, in the first round, Shugon said something like “I’m gonna use rock!!”, which he actually did wwww In the second round the same thing happened, and when a huge portion of the audience got eliminated he was like “Why won’t you guys believe me?!” wwww

Lastly, Shugon promoted the side M anime and Proani. When he mentioned Issei, a girl in the audience held up a pair of Lizz-kuns (of the twins). Shugon noticed and thanked her for bringing them, aww.

Shugon left us with a farewell message, joking about how he had so much fun that it didn’t feel like work at all, and thanked us again for coming to see him. He also asked us to go and spend lots of money on the food stalls and exhibits to help the uni raise funds since the talk show itself was free ww As he was leaving the stage Reason!! played over the speakers and the audience screamed... Shugon went "Oh!!!" and sang just a little bit "by your side~♪" and we all DIED ><

Shugon has some photos of the event on his twitter (I’m somewhere in the 2nd photo, gdi.) I still have butterflies in my stomach when I recall the event.... Shugon was just so down-to-earth and radiant, and everyone had a great time. I personally will never forget that Nakamura Shugo spoke to me directly, even for just a few tiny moments *____* I’m sure he created some amazing memories for everyone who was present.

What are books? Lol. I haven't read one in a while. If doujinshi counts, then that's it. If it doesn't, a Kuroko no Basket fanfic.

Unicorn? Haha. But we kind of already have that. Just more grey. And fat. And not a horse (Rhinoserous)

3. Last song you heard?

Sound of Silence (SOS) by Sekai no Owari. It's not bad, check them out!!

4. City or Country?

Hmm country. I kind of been there in China and it's great. The flowers are beautiful. City is good too but sometimes you just need a break.

Chocolate! But in terms of Ice cream, both are fine ^^

6. If you were to go back in time when would you go back to?

Hmm maybe until when I have more time / when I was in primary school. To spend more time doing what I like and don't do all the stupid things I used to do lol.

Cat, cause I love them, and I'll totally be the one which is constantly sticking to my human. Cause all cats do are to sleep, eat and play a little, and I'll love that.

8. Dream vacation?

JAPAN. If I can go and meet Hosoya Yoshimasa and other seiyuu, I'll literally faint. Other than that, I would like to go France and other Europe countries to see Eiffel Tower and experience a different culture!

9. Your favorite quote?

The one that I can think of is "Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend." I forgot who said it though.

An anime movie quote I really like from Hotarubi no Mori e is "Time may separate us some day. But even still, until then, let's stay together." I relate to this A LOT. Watch the movie if you haven't!

10. A person you admire?

Well, who else? Hosoya Yoshimasa XD but seriously though. He's legit the only person I've been so crazy for a long time.

He had a rough time when he first became a seiyuu (having not enough money, resorting to shower at friend's house) and even wanted to quit cause he had a throat problem, but continued after becoming Nezumi from No.6 (WHICH IS THE GREATEST ANIME EVER THANK YOU) and the rest is history. He really worked hard and that's why he can be the man he is today. He's very humble, the most adorable man EVER, and his voice is really good to be supportive as a captain but can also be the cheeky guy and the bad guy. More people need to join this fandom ><>< I really really like him! (And he needs to be married)

Other people I admire is Miyano Mamoru, Kamiya Hiroshi and Taylor Swift (lol suddenly an American)

11. Language you speak?

English and Chinese. I am currently studying Japanese, and hope to be able to speak it better! 頑張ります！(I'll do my best!)

12. If you were to be a teacher in school which subject would you prefer to teach?

Maths, haha. I'm not bad in it. I actually wanted to be a math teacher since young. ^^

You simply stand there looking at Kou.

“...Listen, I’m basically giving you permission to run. So why won’t you move?”

You seem worried about him. 

“Nah, it’s fine. I no longer care. So come on, hurry.”

You shake your head.

“...!! ...Why!? First you continuously deny me, and now you’re suddenly claiming you can’t leave me be like this!? Are you pitying me, perhaps? ...If not that, then what!?”

You note he seems sad.

“...!! ...But why? How can you...look through my facade and tell I’m sad...even though you don’t have your memories? Even though I already decided I would give up...”

Kou suddenly gets up from the bed.

*Rustle*

“Haah...”

You approach him.

“What are you doing? If you get this close to me, you’ll have your blood sucked again. You wouldn’t want that, right?”

You give him permission.

“...’It’s fine’? ...So why are you suddenly trying to understand me now?”

You mention that the two of you were lovers.

“Exactly. We were lovers. ...Although you seem to have forgotten all about that.”

You ask if that makes him sad.

“Well, of course. Anyone would be sad if their beloved one forgot them, no? ...However, right now, I’m nothing but a stranger to you. So why would you care about my feelings?”

You explain.

“...!! M-neko-chan...Ah...Haha~ You’re such a Saint. You don’t want to see me sad? I’m pretty sure most people wouldn’t want to retrieve their own memories for the sake of someone else. ...But it no longer matters. Even if you don’t remember.”

You tell him you might remember.

“I told you earlier, didn’t I? I’ve given up. There’s no way to guarantee they’ll ever come back after all. ...Besides, this might be a chance to discover a new love for you! In the end, I’m nothing but a Vampire with a horrible descent. Don’t you think you could become much happier if you were to date this really nice guy instead?”

You shake your head.

“Why!? You were terrified earlier after I did all those horrible things to you, no?”

You note that Kou seems sad.

“...Excuse me? How can you tell I’m not a bad guy even though you’re suffering from amnesia...!? You don’t know anything about me! ...I don’t need your comfort, okay?”

You ask him to tell about his upbringing. 

“I see. If you insist, I’ll tell you. About how I’ve lived my life up till now. ...You see, I may be a Vampire right now, but I was originally born a human. I don’t any parents, and for as far as I can remember, I was living in a manhole. ...Exactly, it was dirty and stinky, a true hellhole. Obviously, I didn’t have the money to buy any food, so I had to avoid starvation by raiding the trash. 

Even if I would get my hands on something nice like a loaf of bread or some money, rather than food, I’d much rather exchange it for something which would make me feel satisfied emotionally. Heh. I lived like that my whole life, so I figured I would continue to do so until my death. However, one day I was found by a couple of soldiers and brought to an orpahange. 

Now, this orphanage was quite the experience as well. Honestly, the manhole might have been preferable. I was soon sold as a pretty-faced orphan and received money from aristocrats and politicians. My looks were miles above anyone else’s, so they all loved me! I was toyed with day after day...I even thought of making myself ugly by destroying one of my eyes in a desperate attempt to escape the situation but...It was no use. I never lived a good life, so I guess that part was doomed to stay the same even if I changed environments. 

But...I did meet Ruki-kun and the others at the orphanage shortly after. One thing led to another and ultimately I became the person I am today. You understand now, don’t you? What kind of guy I am. I didn’t enjoy a nice upbringing, so I can’t promise I’ll treat you well. ーー And above all, I’m a Vampire. ...If you do remember me, it’ll be a bunch of bad things so you...might just end up ultimately regretting it, don’t you think?”

You sob softly.

“Hm? Wai...Don’t tell me...Hey, lift your face...!”

You slowly look up at him.

“...It’s the same reaction as back then. Even without your memories...You’d still shed tears for me, huh? Those tears...aren’t out of pity, are they?”

You confirm his suspicions.

“...I knew it!”

You clutch onto his sleeve.

*Rustle*

“...What’s wrong all of a sudden?”

You ask why he doesn’t cry.

“Eh? I won’t cry! It’s not like tears would suddenly come out now...I’m fine as long as you cry in my place instead...”

You continue to sob.

“Hehe~ Your eyes are getting red. If you cry too much, they’ll become swollen and you’ll be quite the sight, you know?”

*Rustle*

“I don’t dislike seeing you in tears but...Right now, I’m not a huge fan of it.”

You note that he is crying as well.

“Eh? ...Tears?”

Kou touches his own cheek.

*Rustle*

“Ah...! You’re right. I’m...crying...? ...Ah! Seems like I can’t help but shed tears when I’m with you...I didn’t exactly want to cry or anything...But...I get it now...”

He embraces you.

*Rustle*

“That even without your memories...You are the same person I fell for, aren’t you? ...A miss goody-two-shoes willing to cry for others but...so very kind...”

*Sniffle*

“Mm...! I’ve made up my mind! I’ll stop trying to force your memories to come back!”

You seem surprised. 

“It’s fine, even if you don’t ever recall. I still love you regardless after all. ...So let’s just start over again from zero? Together. ...Okay?”

You nod.

“...Mmh~ I look forward to spending more time together, M-neko-chan. (1) ...Say, can I kiss you?”

You give him permission.

“...Thank you.”

“...The morning just won’t come.”

You wonder if he perhaps hates the night.

“No, I don’t particularly dislike the night. ...But I want to see the blue sky, you see.”

You ask Kou if he likes the blue sky.

“Mmh, exactly. I love the clear skies. You’d assume morning would dawn soon but the night just seems to continue on forever, don’t you think? So I find myself thinking I want to watch the blue sky with you...”

You agree.

“Eh? ...Ah, thank you. I’m happy to hear you feel the same way. ...Oh, that rose.”

*Rustle*

“Here, I’ll give this to you. Of course, I thought it would look good on you, so don’t be modest and just accept it~”

You thank him.

“Hehe~ You’re welcome~ Hehe...I finally succeeded at making you smile~! ...Say...I’m sorry for doing all those horrible things to you. ...Being forgotten by the person I love the most in this world just made me so sad, I couldn’t believe it...Ah! (1) これからもよろしく or ‘kore kara mo yoroshiku’ is one of those very common Japanese phrases which I always struggle with when I have to translate them to English. In a work-related context, it usually means something like ‘I look forward to continue working with you’ or ‘Thank you for the continued support’. In this case, I think it conveys Kou’s desire to continue spending more time with her as they once again fall in love.

Two days in Numazu (Love Live Sunshine real life setting): a report

Heya! I know I haven’t used my Tumblr in ages, but I didn’t know where else to put this so here I am.

So, I’ve been to Japan for two weeks in late February and I managed to spent two days (Sun 19th and Mon 20th) in Numazu and Uchiura, the places where all of Love Live Sunshine is set. It was an incredible experience, so I’ve wanted to write a report both for me to remember it but also to show other people the place. I can’t believe I procrastinated two months in this

From Kyoto (where we were before this) we arrived at Numazu on Sunday morning at around 8am, by night bus. This is Numazu Station, featured a lot of times in the anime. We’ve been really lucky and had a wonderful weather! at least for one day

After going to check-in to our hotel (if you’re interested in going, I really recommend you Sanco Inn Numazu Ekimae, it’s super close to the station and the staff knows English pretty well), we came back to catch the bus for Uchiura.

Right in front of the station there’s a collaboration cafè, Yudai Festa Sun! Sun! Sunshine Cafè. We went there later for dinner.

This is the bus stop to Uchiura. You’ll see Love Live is literally everywhere here. Unfortunately I already knew we had no chance to catch the LLSS collaboration bus if we didn’t want to waste time (the first was at around 11am iirc)

While we were waiting there for the bus, another bus arrived and a girl next to us asked us “Where are you going?” so I said “Izu Mito Sea Paradise” (since it’s the most known attraction from Uchiura and it was actually our first stop), and she said that that other bus that arrived was going there too. So we took that bus.

Comes out, that bus wasn’t going to Izu Mito. I don’t know what happened, if she didn’t understood what I said or she was just wrong, but at some point on the road to Uchiura the bus changed direction. I kept looking where the f- we were going on my phone, and comes out we were going to the near city of Izu-Nagaoka. I tried asking to the driver if the bus was going to Izu Mito Sea Paradise (maybe taking a longer route) but he said “No, *something else I didn’t caught* Sea Paradise”. IDK. In the end I found with Google Maps that there was another bus going to Izu Mito from that area, so we dropped off the bus and waited for the other bus. 

The funny thing to all of this is that at that bus station in the middle of nowhere and far away from every LLSS location there was this:

No matter where you go, Love Live is there.

An old woman also asked us (in Japanese this time) where we were going and she confirmed that this bus was actually for Izu Mito and she was right this time. I got pleasantly surprised that people are so friendly there, even with weird gaijins like us.

This detour unfortunately cost us a lot of time, but in the end we managed to arrive to Izu Mito Sea Paradise! If you don’t know, this aquarium is the setting for the Koi ni Naritai AQUARIUM PV.

I loved this tank with sakura flowers inside.

I haven’t took a photo of the whole coloured jellyfish pool (where You is being emo in the PV) but I had a bit of fun photographing the single jellyfishes.

Shukas Otteeeeers so cute. I went to see them hundreds of time.

The visit to the aquarium took us until midday, since we also saw the shows. After lunch, we went out and headed to our next stops.

First of all we stopped at the close Sannoura Tourist Center, aka the tourist center of the town. I tried periscoping inside of it so here’s a video: https://streamable.com/d5n33 (I can’t find a way to embed it sorry)

As you can see the place is FILLED with Love Live, it really is the main attraction there.

If I recall correctly this page in their signature book was signed by the seiyuus when they first came here in February 2016. I witnessed one of Rikyako’s best masterpieces with my own eyes I feel blessed.

After we looked around a bit the two staff members showed us a map of Japan where people put a round sticker for the place where they were from, and they also had spaces of overseas. For Europe iirc they had a space for UK, Germany and then “Other Europe” lel, so we put our sticker there. There were only 2 sticker on “Other Europe”, and I wondered who they were... comes out it was my friend and her boyfriend who come here in December :’D Not a lot of people are as crazy as us uh better for them

After this the staff girl asked us if the wanted to write a post-it with cheers for the seiyuus for their First Live. After I wrote mine, she took it, looked at it and asked “Yousoro?” (since I wrote it in blue and added an anchor), I said yes and then she disappeared for a bit and came back with two You keychains as a present for me WTF I was almost crying as I thanked her, so kind!! They also gave some Chika goods to my friend, I was speechless. As if it wasn’t enough, while we were going out the staff guy stopped us and gave us one of their big posters??

Like seriously WTF. Are they really so happy to see tourists?

I feel sorry that they also tried to make some conversation with me but unfortunately I’m still a beginner in Japanese and they didn’t know a lot of English ;; They managed to ask me if we were going to see some locations and I said that in fact we’ve already been to Izu Mito. They were so happy ;;

Another nice thing I didn’t expected is that outside of the Tourist Center we found a few itashas. Not comparable to the one you can see in UDX in Akiba but they were nice!

We left the Tourist Center in the direction of the school. This is the place where Mari falls while running, in fact, to the school to meet Kanan.

A bit ahead we found this groceries shop called “Oh! Mos” that sells mikans and specifically the Jyutaro x LLSS mikans, and also has this big Aqours shrine. I told ya LL there is really everywhere.

Fun fact: Suwawa, Rikyako and Anchan went in this shop a few weeks later, when they were there for their DIVER photoshoot, and left a signature (that’s the shop twitter account).

We took a bag of mikans and when we went to the counter to pay, the old woman pointed at Chika’s image in the bag and said “anime?” to us, lol. When we said yes (?) she showed us that they even have the cardboard box of mikan, the megaphone and the sign that Chika uses in episode 1 to gather people for her school idol club, lol. SUKURU AIDORU BU DEEESU. My friend took a pic with them

Moving on, we went to the place where the girls (try to) shoot a PV in episode 6. The place is called “Nagahama Castle Ruins” but there really isn’t much except for a really nice view.

Actually, I had printed a lot of these postcards with anime screenshots to take this kind of photos, but unfortunately I realized taking a good shot takes a lot of time and effort, plus the wind was not helping me. In the end I gave up and took really a few of these. I still have all of them so maybe I’ll try again if I manage to go back in August.

Moving on to the next stop: the little shrine where Kanan ends her morning run and dances under the stalkers other girls’ eyes.

I saw a lot of people thinking that the shrine where Kanan dances is the same as the one in episode 4 to where Ruby and the seconds year run, but it’s not: that one is in Awashima Island and it would have required Kanan to take the boat from where she starts her run. In fact it’s this one, a bit before the school. There were two other Love Livers there taking photos.

After this we finally got to the school bus stop! Featured in the ending, as well as in episode 1 when You joins the school idol club.

I failed this photo on so many levels.

And here it is! Uranohoshi Girls Highschool is in real life a middle school called Nagaisaki. It was Sunday afternoon so no one was around, except for the gym where we could hear some people inside.

After this we walked all the way back to Izu Mito and beyond to see the other locations, like...

And right in front of it, the beach featured in the very first LLSS image, as well as the scene in episode 1 where Chika and Riko talk. Someone already wrote Aqours on the sand.

Shougetsu Cafè! aka the place were a CYaRon radio drama is set, and also were the 2nd years seiyuus went during their Teku Teku. Of course we went to grab some mikan dorayaki! They are super good. I even bought mikan jam, but I still have to open it.

We were so lucky we even found the LLSS kitchen car! I bought the You Noppo keychain.

Unfortunately, at this point my organization failed me. We wanted to go to Awashima Island, but I got wrong the place where the boat docks. I thought it was in front of Shougetsu, where there actually is some kind of port, but it wasn’t. We lost time looking around and on the web (how come that the Awashima Marine Park website doesn’t say where the boat docks?!), then tried to ask to the girls in the kitchen car who managed to explain to me it was 20 minutes by feet to get there. Unfortunately it was already kinda late, and since we didn’t want to rush it we decided to go back to Numazu. While riding the bus I saw the bus stop “Awashima” and the docks. If only we had take the right bus in the morning I would’ve know. Too bad.

Even if we didn’t rode the LLSS collaboration bus there was still some Love Live on board. Someone likes OmoiNare ships here.

At Numazu station we finally grabbed some Noppo Pan! I bought the LLSS (caramel) flavoured one this time, and later I tried the strawberry chocolate too. In the same shop in the station I also bought some really good mikan cookies.

I got the full You menu: Youkisoba (I even got the appropriate coaster), You’s drink and You’s Magic Tea (it’s a butterfly pea tea, it’s blue but when you put lemon in it it becomes purple). I really liked it tbh to be just a collabo cafè (not famous for the quality of their meals...)

And this concludes our first day in Numazu.

The next day we decided to do just a short visit to Numazu, since going back to Uchiura just to go to Awashima Island was too expensive.

Nakamise again.

We went to see Yoshiko’s house, a building called Natty Numazu. At the first floor of the building, on the other side, there’s a watch shop that even has some LLSS merch, and when the shopkeeper saw us looking at it they made us enter and sign their Yoshiko signature book lol

This tiny temple is right next to the alley where Yoshiko is seen in the last scene of episode 5 (before starting running away from the others).

Of course since You is best grill I couldn’t miss this place: You’s house! Which is not a house but a Western-style cafè called Orandakan.

Just from outside you can’t be wrong this is the place.

When we entered an old lady came to us and made us seat. She tried failed a bit to talk in English and brought us their signature book (I swear every single place has signature books there). My friends told me she also said “Welcome to You’s house” but unfortunately I didn’t catch it.

Their menu is only in Japanese but luckily since the teas are all in katakana and the cakes had pictures we managed to order something.

Not bad but tbh kinda pricey, I paid 1010 yen for a tea and a piece of cake... but it was at You’s house! So it’s ok.

Moving along Yoshiko’s escape route, we passed next to Numazu Deep Sea Aquarium (where the first years go in their KoiAQUA radio drama, aka the shiirakansu aquarium) and Numazu Hamburger & Cafè, where the first years also came for their Teku Teku.

We finally arrived at Byou (which I discovered actually means View-O), the water gate/observatory where Yoshiko finally stops running and also where You and Mari go talk in episode 11. Going up only costs 100 yen but due to some circumstances we decided not to go. The weather got bad in any case so we wouldn’t have seen anything anyway.

And this concludes our trip around Numazu, and is also where we suddenly started having incredible bad luck.

The weather was getting worse and worse, with strong wind and rain. On our travel back to Tokyo we wanted to make some stops: at Atami to visit the Plum Garden since the plums were in full blooms, at Nebukawa station (the station of feels in the anime), and Kozu station (the beach of feels- yes, they’re in different places). After riding the train we already decided that we would miss Atami, the weather was too bad to enjoy a garden. We could still stop at Nebukawa and Kozu, I mean, we just have to stop and take some photos, it can’t be that bad, right?

Wrong. The wind was so strong we were basically flying away, I’ve never seen something like this. We run inside the station and I only managed to take these photos.

Being the wind so strong we decided not to stop in Kozu, since it would’ve been a pain with our luggages and everything. But, after arriving at that exact station, the train stopped. We heard a lot of messages but we couldn’t understand them. We checked online and discovered that all trains in the Tokaido line were suppressed due to strong winds. And we were in Kozu. But we couldn’t go down. I couldn’t believe our bad luck, lol. The train stayed there for three (THREE) hours before leaving, and even then it was going slow and occasionally stopping, making our travel from Numazu to Tokyo 6 hours long instead of 2. But in the end we managed to arrive in Tokyo safe and sound.

Anyway, except for this last part, I really loved going to Numazu. It’s a bit of a struggle if you don’t know Japanese and it’s kinda expensive, but if you’re a Love Live fan it’s really really worthy. It’s not just “seeing” those places in real life, you can do that from photos... but being there, living like them, taking the same bus they take to school, eating mikans and Noppo pan... it’s an incredible experience. It makes it feels like everything is more real, even if it’s just an anime. I really hope I’ll be able to go back in August!

New DanganRonpa V3 full prediction

Having answer to @photoshopronpa​‘s survey made me realize I already have a complete prediction for the entire game. Of course, I know that I’m not really that good at fortune-telling, so my chance of getting everything right pre-release is way below 20%. Still that prediction thing was lot of fun to make and I’m looking forward to hear your thoughts about it. 

Here’s my prediction:

“Wait, 6 killers and 4 victims?” 

“What the fuck, Shirogane mastermind?”

Yeah, I know that seems confusing, but don’t worry, everything will make sense once I lay out the story chapter by chapter. Here we go:

Chapter 1: Saihara kills Amami

Basis for Amami as the first victim: The first victim must always be someone portrayed as important. Amami seems to be presented as important as Maizono and as mysterious as Twogami. He gives us this false sense of security of believing he will not die before he remember his talent. Not to mention he is too suspicious to actually be a killer. I really don’t think I needed to explain this one, as lots of people agree on him as the first victim, but better safe than sorry.

Basis for Saihara as the first killer: We already know he is the first person Akamatsu meets and the one who introduces her to everyone, but this role was replaced by Naegi in the demo. The demo evidences points to Naegi and we know for a fact that the first Debate Scrum discusses whether or not Saihara is the killer. A point of interest in the demo is the lie tutorial: Akamatsu lies to create a fake alibi to Naegi. Considering Saihara is replacing this role, Akamatsu will do her tutorial lie because she blindly trusts Saihara, so having Saihara as the first killer is a necessary step of character development to make Akamatsu face reality.

Important prediction plot point: Unlike every other murderer in the series, Saihara will not reveal his motives after the trial is over.

Chapter 2: Momota kills Iruma

Basis for Momota as a killer:  No strong evidence really. Originally I had Momota as one of my survivors because I thought he would be the new Hagakure. This series’ structures always requires a couple of dumb characters who are necessary to make the Class Trial cover every single point, even the most obvious ones. That’s why Hagakure, Asahina, Souda and Owari were left alive. I assigned Momota as one of my new dumb duo and dismissed him as a survivor. Then came his part on Suzuki’s blog. Suzuki pointed out the fact that Momota was smart enough to pass the Astronaut Exam and said that this smartness will be his main point of interested during the game. With that in mind, my theory of Momota as survivor collapsed and now I see him as a really clever murderer and Gonta and Chabashira as the new surviving idiot duo. Of course, considering his personality, I believe his murder might be a really emotionally intense and maybe even accidental murder, kinda like it was with Oowada. There’s also that one execution in the intro with the meteor showers and all, that’s some nice evidence.

Basis for Iruma as the second victim: I think I said this one before already. Haruka Ishida was chosen as Iruma’s seiyuu because of parallels with Fujisaki and Ishida commented about her script being short. The obvious conclusion her is a character arc similar to Fujisaki: dies early but leaves behind something that will later save the day. This probably the part I’m the most sure about.

Why Momota in the second chapter specifically?: It was the only murderer slot left after I laid out everything. I guess I just forgot Momota was a character, as usual.

Chapter 3: Yumeno tricks Angie into killing Hoshi

Basis for Hoshi as victim: I mean, his backstory involves lots of murders, so its more than obvious he is not murdering anyone here. It’s the Genocider Shou effect. However, I really can’t see him as a survivor either, so victim it is.

Basis for Angie as a puppet murderer: Ever since we got to know her better, we all knew that this little fanatic would have absolutely no qualms about murdering anyone with she was doing it because her god said so. Angie being one of favs is proof of how I like that idea. However, that alone is boring and insufficient. It would make a much better plot if someone took advantage of that faith used Angie as a murder weapon by pretending to be the voice of God in her head.

How is that even possible?: It’s already have been establish that the every student will have a personal laboratory to upgrade their talents. Assume these laboratories become open areas after its owner dies. That means that after Chapter 2, everyone has free access to Iruma’s inventions (important future plot point because that’s how they will find her “save the day” machine). Iruma already said in the demo that one of her inventions allows to read manga even when you’re sleeping. Speculating about how would that work, I built a theory that it is a computer that scans the manga and provide a full audio description to a speaker in the user’s ears. Of course, Iruma values confort above all else, so she would make this earpiece the size of a speck of dust, unnoticeable by anyone not named Kirumi Toujou (who would only notice after speculation in the Trial). If anyone disassemble the manga reading the device and connect it to a transceiver, they should be able to able to give Angie “God’s orders” without gathering suspicion (Minor detail, but the first trial screenshots establish that a transceiver does exist inside the school). For lots of reasons, that‘s the part of the prediction I’m the least sure about.

Basis for Yumeno as the puppeteer: On the practical side of the story, the first step of plan is planting the communication device in Angie’s ear without her realizing. Considering everyone’s talents, Yumeno is easily the most capable of doing that. She could even disguise it as a “coin in ear” trick and that’s what clues Angie into who her controller was. Now on the character construction side, having someone else commit murder and disguise the crime for her fits the lazy Yumeno. However, the one who made tie me Yumeno to this crime was not Yumeno herself, but actually Chabashira. As we all know, the first demo included the scene where Asahina and Sakura are drinking tea together happen to see the victim grabbing the knife. In the V3 demo, however, those two were replaced Chabashira and Yumeno. And then there’s the other scene during trial where Chabashira looks absurdly glad for having Yumeno spend the whole day educating her on the difference between mere ilusionism tricks and real magic. It’s clear to me that these two will be those two characters who are constantly together and will interact with each other whenever possible. That’s the point makes me link this to Yumeno: Sora Tokui said she thinks Kodaka likes to make the cute ones suffer, probably refering to her own character. As I said before, I don’t think Chabashira will die because she is filling the dumb quota on the Class Trial, so my guess for this promised Tenko Pain Train is that Chabashira will have her best friend turn out to be the most unscrupulous murder of game (and the first female murderer, to top it off).

Class Trial procedure: When asked about accomplices, Monokuma already answered on 1-3 that the accomplices are just treated as regular innocents, with no special privileges for helping out the crime and would be executed in case the culprit wins. Case 2-2 expands this concept saying that an accomplice is still an accomplice even if they are “the murder weapon”. Only the mastermind of the murder is treated as the culprit. That means Angie is treated as innocent by Monokuma and gets to survive. In terms of character development, that would make Angie a little bit less blind about her faith. It would also heavily affect her interaction with other characters because, manipulated or not, she still killed a guy with her own two hands for a reason everyone else considers absurd. I don’t know what her redemption arc for that could be, to be honest. I do like the idea that Chabashira would be the first to forgive her though.

Chapter 4: Shinguuji kills Toujou

Basis for Toujou as victim: Her work policy is “duty before self” and her first name is how a Japanese would pronounce “kill me”. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I can’t get past the idea that Toujou will orchestrate her own murder in order to help someone getting out of the school.

Basis for Shinguuji as a murderer: @atterozen​ already said everything here. However, I believe the spider web in heaven represents Toujou rather than Gonta (as I put Gonta as a survivor for reasons already explained). Toujou has the spider web motif in her dress and thematically fits better the Spider’s Thread tale as Toujou’s murder was a heavenly present given by Toujou herself to help Shinguuji escape from hell. And just like in the original tale, Shinguuji will lose his thread because he doesn’t want anyone else to survive along him.

Chapter 5: Harukawa and Ki-bo kill each other

Basis for these two: As you know, Chapter 5 is supposed be a big moment that pulls the plot towards the finale. As a big moment, it obviously must involve the big players. At this point of the prediction however, the only big players left alive are Harukawa and Ki-bo. At first I thought Harukawa killing was the obvious way to go because I couldn’t see Ki-bo killing anyone, but after Sasaki’s comment on how Ki-bo will have the biggest before-after impression difference, I started to have my doubts about that. I couldn’t decide who kills who and thought “Hey, why not making this the first actual mutual killing of the Mutual Killing Games?”. 

State of the crime scene: The two of them died at the same time, then there would be no one to disguise the crime scene. If anyone found the bodies, they could immediately tell what happened and the Class Trial would be a waste of time. To avoid that from happening, the ringleader (I’m still salty that they replaced the word “mastermind” btw) has to take action to disguise the crime scene. That’s where Shirogane comes in and does her job.

Why Shirogane of all people?: She is the only character left I don’t know what to do with.

The Class Trial results: After half of the Class Trial figuring out the double murder, we get a new a question. “If they both killed each other the same time, then who arranged the crime scene”. The second half of the Class Trial is them figuring out it was Shirogane. Shirogane then outs herself as the ringleader and takes blame for the entire killing game. One of the smarter liars (probably Ouma) will then question her about how does she talk to everyone and control Monokuma at the same time and she won’t know how to answer. With her lie exposed, everyone would realize Shirogane’s situation. The ringleader is controlling Monokuma from elsewhere, but they still wanted an agent inside of the game keep everything under control in case of emergency. That was Shirogane.

Aftermath:The survivors would then proceed to interrogate her regarding the real ringleader’s identity. Shirogane doesn’t say anything because, unlike the previous traitors, she actually believes/agrees with the ringleader’s goals. The ringleader, however, is that “better safe than sorry” kind of guy, so he will execute Shirogane anyway as this chapter’s culprit just in case. Betrayed, she would be dragged to her while desperately yelling the name “Saihara”. After the trial is over, everyone would go together to Saihara’s laboratory to look for clues. There they would find investigation files detailing how Saihara (no given name specified in any point of the files) was being tailed by the Super High School Level Spy, Rantarou Amami. They would them move to Amami’s laboratory and find his report.

Re-chapter 1

Re-chapter? What?: It’s an interlude kinda like DR2′s Chapter Zero but a lot longer. It’s the game up until the first murder, but told from Amami’s POV. He was feigning his amnesia the entire time and doing his spy job to investigate Saihara. Shuuichi’s motive for murder was believing Amami was after his life because of the misleading file in his laboratory.

Chapter 6

Trial discussion: Everyone would start by accusing Shuuichi, until Akamatsu remember he saying that he worked as his uncle apprentice. Akamatsu will re-examine Amami’s report taking the uncle into consideration and notice it makes more sense like this. Amami almost screwed everyone up by not writing given names, but that’s how the plot works. Then we get to our usual “mastermind shows up and offer a final sadisctic choice to the survivors” finale.

Basis for uncle Saihara as the ringleader: The first thing noticed at Saihara’s name reveal was that Saihara Shuuichi can be shortened to Saishuu, so we that’s already a hint to his connection to the school. Then we get the news that the school was built specifically for the killing game, so that reduces the chances of the name being a coincidence. Then we got to Shuuichi’s introduction, which establish he has a related character that could be ringleader and the most important part: he doesn’t think he is worth of his title. Shuuichi clearly shows himself to be genuinely confused about why he of all people was chosen as a Super High School Level. Normally, I would interpret this as just lack of self-esteem, but considering the idea someone close to him is behind everything, it’s easy to guess how he was chosen.

Survivor roles: I already explained where I think Angie and Chabashira will get their moments. Ouma will be the main rival character in the trials. He is the self-proclaimed liar in a game about lies after all. He might play a bigger role in Ki-bo’s trial but I don’t know. I can’t think of anything to do with Gonta.
