A/N: Some of you may know that I struggled with burn-out not long ago and wanted to write down my feelings in a story

When you decided to become a nurse after high school, you never imagined you’d one day find yourself on tour with four rock stars. Yet, somehow, here you were.
Bad Omens had decided they needed a nurse on tour. Mostly because Noah, along with the others had a bad habit of getting hurt during their Europe leg. In addition to that, there was an unusually high number of fans passing out at shows. Matt, their manager and sound engineer, figured it was time to bring someone along full-time. Someone they could trust.
And that’s where you came in.
You and Matt had known each other since high school. You weren't inseparable, but you'd been close once. Over the years, life got in the way, and your conversations had dwindled down to the occasional “Happy birthday” or “Hope you’re doing good” over DM. Nothing serious. So when Matt’s name popped up in your inbox one evening, it caught you completely off guard.
At first, you stared at the message for a solid five minutes, wondering if he sent it by mistake.
mattxdierkes: hey, random question. u still a nurse?
Your brows furrowed. Was he sick? Did he need help? You typed back, thumbs quick on the screen:
You: hey lol yeah i am. everything okay??
The typing bubble popped up immediately.
mattxdierkes: yeah! all good. actually, i might have a weird offer for you.
mattxdierkes: you busy for the next one and a half months?
You sat up a little straighter, heart kicking up.
You: uhh depends?? why?
mattxdierkes: wanna come on tour with me and bad omens? we need a nurse. for real lol.
You: wait WHAT??
mattxdierkes: seriously. think about it. it's chaos out here. noah’s been hurt like 5x already. fans are passing out left and right.
You laughed under your breath, already feeling the rush of adrenaline. Without thinking twice, you fired back:
You: YES. absolutely yes. get me out of this hospital pls.
Matt sent back a string of clapping emojis and a "let's goooo."
You weren’t exaggerating. You were desperate to get out of the hospital you were currently working at. The place was a mess. Short-staffed, overworked, and management was a nightmare. Touring with a rock band felt like a once-in-a-lifetime kind of escape.
And honestly? You needed it.
Which led you here, standing awkwardly at LAX next to the guys from Bad Omens, waiting for your flight to the first stop of the tour. Your suitcases, packed half with your own stuff and half with an overwhelming amount of medical supplies, getting a lot of suspicious looks from security.
A TSA agent flagged you down, pointing at your gear. “What exactly are you transporting, miss?”
You fumbled to pull out your hospital badge. “I’m a registered nurse," you explained quickly. "I’m touring with a band. It's all first aid stuff, I swear.”
The agent wasn’t impressed. "We're going to have to check everything manually."
Cue you, practically begging, “Please, I have to have this. I can show you everything. I’ll unpack it here if you want. Just, please, don’t throw anything away.”
Luckily, after what felt like a lifetime and some intense pleading, they let you through. You shuffled back over to where the band was lounging near the gate.
Noah, sitting cross-legged on the floor with a hoodie pulled low over his eyes, looked up and smirked. "That took forever. Are you smuggling something in a portable hospital or something?"
You rolled your eyes, dropping into a seat beside Matt. "If you keep getting hurt, you're gonna thank me for every Band-Aid in those bags."
Jolly, who was scrolling on his phone, glanced up and grinned. "She’s right. Noah’s a walking disaster."
Matt chuckled, bumping your shoulder with his. "Told you we needed her."
Bryan, sipping a coffee, added, “Just wait till Tomorrow. You haven't seen chaos yet.”
You laughed, already feeling strangely at ease with them.
The flight itself was long but mostly uneventful. You spent most of it flipping through your notes, double-checking that you had packed everything you'd need. When you finally landed and made your way out to the tour buses, you expected to be loaded onto one with the rest of the crew. Other techs, assistants, security. Instead, Matt threw his arm around your shoulders and steered you towards a different bus. “You’re with us,” he said simply.
You blinked. “Wait, with you? Like... with the band?”
Matt laughed. “Yeah. Better to have you close. Trust me, they’re gonna need you."
You climbed aboard, a little stunned, and found a spot by the window. The bus was nicer than you’d expected. Still cramped, but cozy, lived-in. Guitars leaned against the walls. There were random shoes, hoodies, and open bags scattered around. It smelled like cologne and Red Bull.
As the sun dipped lower over the Colorado landscape, painting the sky in oranges and pinks, you settled in, staring out the window in awe.
You didn’t get long to soak it in.
"Uh, nurse!"
You turned to see Noah jogging toward you, clutching his nose, blood streaming down his upper lip.
You scrambled up. "What the hell happened?!"
He grinned sheepishly, blood smeared across his teeth. "Got hit in the face with a soccer ball. Bryan’s got a hell of a kick."
You burst out laughing despite yourself. “Wow, that was fast. Matt didn’t lie about you being a magnet for disaster.”
Noah wiped his hand on his hoodie. "Yeah, well... consider this your welcome gift."
You ushered him over to a bench, pulling out your kit like second nature. "Sit. Tilt your head forward. Not back, you’ll swallow it."
He obeyed, and you expertly pinched the bridge of his nose, grabbing gauze from your bag. “You think you broke it?” you asked, examining the angle.
"Nope. Still pretty," Noah said, grinning at you under his hands.
You rolled your eyes. "Debatable."
Nicholas came up behind him, laughing. "Five minutes on the road and you’re already getting patched up. New record, man."
Jolly leaned against the doorframe, watching. "Should we start a bet? How many times Noah ends up in her care before the tour’s over?"
Matt clapped his hands together. "I’m saying... twenty."
“Twenty?” you gasped, laughing as you taped gauze under Noah’s nose. “You think he’s gonna survive twenty incidents?”
Matt winked. “Optimism, baby.”
Once Noah was fixed up, he sprinted off after the others like nothing happened, yelling about a rematch.
You shook your head, chuckling, wiping your hands with sanitizer. “I’m gonna need hazard pay,” you muttered.
Matt dropped into the seat next to you, tossing you a water bottle. “You’re gonna need a vacation after this tour.”
As the bus rumbled to life and pulled onto the highway, you leaned back, heart hammering in a mix of excitement and nerves. Tomorrow was the first show. You couldn’t lie. You were thrilled... but also kind of terrified.
You’d heard most Bad Omens fans were incredible. Sweet, loyal, passionate.
But you’d also heard the horror stories. The ones who crossed the line. Who could get a little too intense.
You swallowed hard, trying not to overthink it. You were here for a reason. You could handle it.
Before you could spiral into anxiety, the steady hum of the bus and the exhaustion from the day caught up with you, and you drifted off to sleep with the Colorado sunset burning behind your eyelids.
May 4th, 2023. Greenwood Village, CO
It was the first night of the US leg of the tour.
The show had just ended, and the air was thick, electric with adrenaline, sweat, and that heady buzz that only comes after a live show. Voices echoed in the distance, roadies shouting instructions, the hum of equipment being packed up filling the background.
You were near the stairs, crouched down, carefully repacking your first aid kit. All in all, it hadn’t been a bad night. Only two fans had fainted. Way less than you had mentally prepared for.
You blew out a quiet breath, feeling the tension slowly start to leave your body. Maybe, just maybe, this wouldn’t be as crazy as you thought.
But then you heard it.
Folio's voice was sharp and low. Cutting through the noise.
"Noah, dude. Are you fucking bleeding?"
Your head snapped up so fast you almost gave yourself whiplash, the ice pack you were holding slipping from your hand and hitting the ground with a soft thud.
The others turned too. Jolly, who had been laughing with Nicholas a second earlier, immediately went serious. Bryan swore under his breath and started making his way over. Matt was already striding across the floor with a grim look on his face.
You rushed forward, your heart hammering against your ribs.
Noah was limping slightly, the hem of his shirt torn and stained dark. A deep, ugly gash ran along his left side just under his ribs. Blood was soaking through the fabric, the red spreading fast, and though his face was mostly stoic, you caught the tightness around his mouth, the way his jaw was clenched.
"What the fuck happened?" you demanded, pulling on gloves as you closed the distance.
Noah gave a lopsided shrug, the movement making him wince. "Crowd was fucking insane. I went down to the barricade and..."
He hissed as you pulled the hem of his shirt up to inspect the damage.
"Someone had sharp rings or something. I don't know," he gritted out.
"Jesus, Noah," you muttered under your breath, already reaching for antiseptic.
You eased him down into a nearby folding chair, steadying him with a hand on his good side. He sank into it with a grunt, his fingers curling tightly around the seat.
As you peeled the bloodied fabric back more, you got a better look at the wound. It was deep. Deeper than you’d hoped.
"This needs stitches," you said, your voice firm.
Noah tensed the second the antiseptic touched the wound, a sharp breath hissing through his teeth.
"I’ll be fine," he said, waving a hand dismissively. "Just slap a Band-Aid on it."
You shot him a look so sharp it could cut through steel. "Yeah, not happening."
A smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth, cocky and stubborn as ever. But the pain was starting to show through now, flashing in his eyes when he thought no one was looking.
"Stay still," you ordered, reaching for your suture kit.
Around you, the other guys hovered. Nicholas running a hand through his hair, looking stressed. Folio pacing a few steps away, muttering curses. Jolly standing silently with his arms crossed, his brow furrowed in worry. Matt leaned against the wall nearby, arms folded, watching with a grim set to his mouth.
"You need to be more careful," you muttered under your breath as you threaded the needle, your fingers steady despite the adrenaline thrumming through you.
"Some of your fans are sweet," you said, glancing up at him as you tied off the thread. "Some of them are psychos."
Noah chuckled low in his throat, though it quickly morphed into a grimace of pain.
"Please," he said, gritting his teeth as you pushed the needle through his skin, "you sound like Matt now."
Matt snorted in the corner, shaking his head. "Because I'm right."
You focused on your work, the neat, practiced rhythm of stitching. "You keep playing tough with them, you’re gonna run out of skin to patch," you said under your breath.
Noah was quiet for a second.
Then, softer, he said, "Good thing I’ve got you then."
You felt your face heat up slightly, but you didn’t let it show. You just smirked a little to yourself, tying off the last stitch with a neat knot.
Behind you, Matt groaned dramatically. "Oh my God. I’m gonna puke," he said, rolling his eyes so hard you were sure he saw his own brain.
Nicholas barked out a laugh, and even Jolly cracked a smile.
You sat back, snapping your gloves off with a satisfied little pop.
"There," you said, giving Noah a pointed look. "You're patched up. Try not to get stabbed again for at least twenty-four hours."
Noah grinned at you, lopsided and a little too charming for someone who was literally dripping blood a few minutes ago.
"No promises," he said.
Matt muttered something that sounded suspiciously like "fucking idiot," under his breath, but there was no real heat behind it.
You grabbed fresh gauze and tape, wrapping Noah's side carefully while the others started gathering their stuff for load-out.
The adrenaline was still buzzing in your veins, but under it, there was something else too.
Something steady.
A feeling that maybe, just maybe, you were exactly where you were meant to be.
May 6th, 2023. Atlantic City, NJ
Two days later, chaos found you again.
The bus door slammed open with a loud bang, rattling against the hinges. You jerked your head up from where you were sitting, surrounded by a mess of supplies. You were halfway through reorganizing your gear case.
Noah stumbled inside, grinning like an absolute maniac, breathing hard like he’d just sprinted across the lot.
"Yo!" he gasped, practically bouncing on his heels.
You narrowed your eyes immediately, already suspicious. "What?" you asked, your voice wary.
Noah didn’t say anything right away. He just lifted his shirt.
Your stomach dropped.
Three of the stitches you had so carefully placed had split open. Blood welled up, fresh and vivid, a dark smear against the pale skin of his side.
"Noah..." you groaned, your voice filled with exhausted disbelief.
He winced, but still somehow managed to look smug. "I was just messing around with Nick and Jolly," he said, like that somehow made it better. "Someone shoved me."
You dropped your forehead briefly into your hand, inhaling deeply before forcing yourself into motion.
"You're unbelievable," you muttered, already snapping on a pair of gloves and grabbing fresh gauze from your kit.
Noah flopped down onto the couch with a dramatic sigh, spreading his arms over the back like he hadn’t just reopened a literal wound.
"You need to be more careful, Noah," you said, voice sharper now as you knelt beside him.
He shrugged one shoulder, the motion stiff. "It didn’t hurt at first," he admitted, watching you work.
"That's because you're running on fumes and pure stubbornness," you said, pressing gauze firmly against the bleeding. He winced but didn’t pull away.
This time, the mood shifted.
Noah grew quieter, less cocky. The air between you softened, humming with something you didn’t dare name yet.
He watched you from under his lashes as you cleaned the wound carefully. His voice, when he spoke next, was softer. Almost shy.
"I like it when you fix me up," he said, almost whispering.
Your hands faltered for a fraction of a second before you quickly busied yourself threading the needle again.
"Stop needing to be fixed," you muttered back, not daring to meet his eyes.
You placed the last stitch with careful, practiced movements, tying it off neatly. You grabbed a large band-aid from your kit and smoothed it over the fresh stitches with a gentle touch.
Just as you were finishing, the bus door swung open again.
Matt stepped inside, sunglasses perched on his head, a coffee in one hand and pure exasperation written all over his face.
"Seriously, Noah? Again?" Matt said, staring at the scene like he was physically in pain.
Noah immediately pointed an accusing finger at the empty air behind Matt. "Nicolas shoved me!" he blurted defensively.
Matt snorted, completely unimpressed. "Yeah, and I'm sure you were being a perfect angel, huh?"
Noah grinned wide, still unapologetic.
Matt turned his gaze to you, raising his coffee cup slightly in salute. "Well, Y/N, good thing I brought you along," he said, shaking his head with a laugh.
You finished taping down the bandage and sat back on your heels, glaring playfully at Noah.
"At this rate," you said dryly, "I'm gonna need a punch card for every time I patch him up. Free coffee on your tenth visit or something."
Matt laughed, ruffling Noah’s hair roughly as he walked by.
"Just try not to need a full body cast before the end of the week, alright?" Matt called over his shoulder as he disappeared toward the back of the bus.
Noah looked down at you, a lazy smile pulling at his mouth, the trouble still glittering behind his eyes.
"No promises," he said, his voice low and teasing.
You shook your head at him, trying and failing to hide the little smile tugging at your lips as you began cleaning up your supplies again.
May 12th, 2023. Oklahoma City, OK
It started subtly.
At first, you almost missed it.
Noah still laughed, but a little less each day. His smile was still there too, but it no longer touched his eyes.
He pounded back energy drinks like they were oxygen, but his untouched plates after catering told a different story.
The dark circles under his eyes deepened, blooming like bruises only you seemed to notice.
So you started watching him. Closer.
During soundcheck, you kept your gaze on him between pretending to organize your kit.
Backstage, when the others joked and killed time, you caught him zoning out.
Even during the shows, when you usually hung out by the side of the stage, half-watching, half-on alert for emergencies. Your eyes always found him.
You saw it happen once. Just once.
A missed cue.
No one said anything, and the fans probably didn’t notice.
But you caught the way his whole body stiffened, the way his jaw clenched like he was trying to hold in a scream.
You didn’t say anything then. Not yet.
Tonight wasn’t any different.
Noah hadn’t eaten a single thing all day.
You noticed.
And from the look Jolly shot him as they prepped for the show, you knew he noticed too.
"Yo, dude. You good?" Jolly asked, keeping his voice casual but his eyes sharp. He was standing a few feet away, bass slung over his shoulder, adjusting his strap absently.
Noah barely looked up from where he was tuning his mic.
"You look like you haven't slept in like a month," Jolly added, his tone light but his frown deepening.
"I'm fine," Noah said immediately, a little too fast, a little too sharp.
You crossed your arms, leaning against a case of cables.
"You've said that every day," you muttered under your breath, not even bothering to mask the doubt in your voice.
For the first time, Noah really looked at you.
There was a flicker of surprise in his eyes, like he hadn’t expected you to call him out. Like he hadn’t realized you'd been watching him this closely.
But he didn’t say anything.
He just smiled, the corners of his mouth twitching up automatically, but it didn’t even come close to reaching his eyes.
You caught Folio’s eye across the room as he slipped his sticks into his back pocket.
He gave you a small nod, subtle but clear. He saw it too.
"Watch him tonight," Folio said quietly, lowering his voice as he moved closer to you. His shoulder brushed yours briefly, grounding you in the buzzing chaos of the backstage area.
"He's burnin' at both ends," Folio murmured, his eyes following Noah’s hunched figure as he adjusted his mic stand again, like if he just tweaked it a little more, maybe everything else would fall into place too.
You nodded slowly, feeling that same knot tighten in your chest.
"He’s been like that for a while now," Folio added, his voice almost lost under the thrum of bass leaking from the stage monitors.
You stayed quiet for a moment, watching Noah’s hands tremble slightly as he tightened a strap that didn’t need tightening.
Something had to give.
You just hoped you noticed before it did.
May 17th, 2023. Birmingham, AL
The venue was pure chaos.
Crew members shouted over each other, cables snaked like vines across the floor, and Matt was in the center of it all, pacing back and forth with his headset slipping off one ear, practically vibrating with frustration.
"I swear, if this rig doesn’t work..." Matt barked into his iPad, jabbing at the screen like it personally offended him. His voice was sharp, his free hand tugging at his hair as he disappeared backstage again, still muttering threats under his breath.
You caught Noah sitting off to the side, slouched deep into the corner of a battered leather couch, a strange calm settled over him.
Too calm.
You made your way over, weaving through the equipment cases and stressed-out techs, and dropped down beside him.
Without thinking, you reached out and ran your hand gently along his arm, grounding him, needing the contact almost as much as he did.
"Relieved?" you asked quietly, keeping your voice low so it wouldn’t get swallowed by the madness around you.
He shrugged, a hollow, almost resigned gesture.
"If we can’t play," he said, his tone light but empty, "I can’t fail tonight."
Your stomach twisted sharply.
"Noah..." you said, leaning in closer, wishing he would really hear you. "You don’t fail. You play your heart out. You are human, Noah."
He didn’t answer right away. His fingers toyed with the hem of his shirt, twisting the fabric like he needed something to do with his hands.
"Some nights," he finally said, voice low, almost like he was talking to himself, "it’s all muscle memory. I’m not even there anymore."
The admission hit you harder than you expected.
You wanted to say something. Anything. Anything to pull him back from wherever his mind was spiraling.
But before you could find the words, Matt stormed past again, looking like he was two seconds from throwing the iPad across the venue.
"We go live in twenty or we cancel!" Matt barked, whirling around. "I need a decision, Noah!"
Noah didn’t even flinch.
He just kept staring at the floor, like Matt’s voice was miles away.
He didn’t answer.
You bit your lip, heart pounding. You reached out again, this time catching his hand, lacing your fingers through his. You squeezed gently, trying to anchor him back to you, to now.
"Are you okay?" you asked, barely above a whisper.
For a second, he just looked at your hands, at the way your fingers were twined with his.
Then he lifted his gaze to yours.
All the walls he usually kept up. The jokes, the stubbornness, the cocky smiles. They were gone.
Just him. Raw. Tired. Frayed at every edge.
"No," he said quietly.
And the honesty in that one word nearly broke you.
May 18th, 2023. Chattanooga, TN
The day was brutal.
The kind of heat that clung to your skin like syrup, thick and heavy, making it hard to even think about moving.
It was 103 degrees outside and somehow even hotter inside the venue.
Everyone was soaked through, faces flushed, moving like they were dragging invisible weights behind them.
Everyone except Noah.
He tore around the place like a man possessed.
Running from soundcheck, to fan meet-and-greets, to helping the crew set up some lighting rig he probably had no business touching.
You watched him dart past again, carrying a case that looked twice his size, face red and sweat dripping down his neck. Like he thought if he just moved fast enough, he could outrun the exhaustion setting into his bones.
You snapped.
"Hydrate or I’m taping you to a chair!" you yelled, loud enough that a few heads turned.
Noah barely even slowed down.
He shot you a breathless grin over his shoulder.
"After the set!" he called back like it was a promise and not a blatant lie.
You let out a frustrated groan and turned, locking eyes with Jolly across the stage.
He gave you a look. One of those yep, he’s gonna crash and burn looks.
You returned it with a sharp nod.
Jolly wasn’t stupid. He knew it too.
Noah was running on empty, stubbornness, and whatever caffeine he could find lying around.
You pressed the heel of your hand to your forehead, feeling the heat and the headache building behind your eyes.
You needed to talk to Matt.
You wanted to talk to Matt.
You had tried, more than once.
But every time you cornered him. Backstage, by the bus, anywhere you could grab five minutes, something pulled him away.
A tech problem.
A schedule change.
Another fan emergency.
And meanwhile, Noah just kept pushing himself harder, burning brighter, burning faster.
You clenched your fists at your sides, watching him disappear into the maze of cables and crew.
You were running out of time to stop him before he finally broke.
After the final chord of the set rang out, the lights dropped, the roar of the crowd echoing through the venue like a heartbeat.
And so did he.
One second Noah was standing behind the curtain, the adrenaline still buzzing off him in waves.
The next, he crumpled to the floor.
For a moment, everything else stopped.
The world narrowed to a single point.
Folio was the first to move.
"Shit! Someone get over here!" he shouted, his drumsticks clattering to the ground as he dropped down beside Noah.
You sprinted across the stage, heart hammering against your ribs so hard it hurt.
"Hydration tab, now! Get water! Cold towels!" you barked, voice slicing through the confusion.
Jolly didn’t hesitate, bolting toward the coolers.
Nicholas was already shouting at the nearby staff, waving them frantically over.
You dropped to your knees beside Noah, hands moving without even thinking.
You pressed your palm to his cheek and forehead.
It was burning hot, skin flushed and damp with sweat.
"Noah," you whispered, leaning close. "Hey, come on, open your eyes."
Slowly, like it physically hurt him to do it, his eyelids fluttered.
Glassiness swam in his gaze as he tried to focus on you.
"Fuck..." he croaked, voice hoarse and ragged. "Did I pass out?"
You exhaled sharply, part relief, part frustration, part absolute panic.
"Yes, you did," you snapped, yanking a cold towel from Jolly’s hand the second he reappeared.
"And next time you ignore me," you added, pressing the towel to the back of Noah's neck, "I'm dragging you off stage myself."
A weak, lopsided smile ghosted across Noah’s lips.
"Can’t tell if you’re mad or worried," he muttered, trying to joke, but even that sounded strained.
"Both," you said, voice cracking despite yourself.
The tears stung the corners of your eyes but you blinked them back fiercely, refusing to lose it here.
You heard Matt cursing under his breath behind you but you barely registered anything except Noah.
He let his head loll back, breathing shallow and uneven, trusting you to put him back together again.
Back at the bus, you didn’t leave his side.
You hovered like a ghost, silently switching out cold towels, forcing him to sip water every twenty minutes, even when he tried to bat your hands away with sleepy protests.
Every time he drifted too far, every time his skin stayed too hot for too long, your chest tightened painfully.
You watched him carefully, the way someone watches something precious they are terrified of losing.
Because no matter how stubborn he was, no matter how much he tried to hide it...
Tonight proved it.
He wasn’t invincible.
May 19th, 2023. Asheville, NC
You couldn’t find Noah anywhere after the soundcheck.
It wasn’t like him to just vanish.
Not unless something was really wrong.
You asked around but no one had seen him.
Finally, Folio caught your sleeve as you passed, his face creased with worry.
"Check the hallway behind the storage crates," he said quietly. "He’s... he’s not doing great."
Your heart dropped.
You moved quickly, weaving past cases and gear and tangled cables until the hallway narrowed and dimmed.
And there he was.
Curled up in a corner, half hidden by towering crates, hoodie pulled up over his head like a shield.
His hands were trembling visibly.
His knees were drawn up to his chest, and his face was buried deep into his folded arms.
It looked like he wanted to disappear.
You sank slowly beside him, careful not to startle him.
"Hey..." you said softly.
He didn’t move.
Didn’t lift his head.
Didn’t even flinch.
"I brought snacks and sarcasm," you added, trying to coax a smile out of him. "Best of both worlds."
Still nothing.
The silence between you stretched long and thin.
You hesitated for a second, then reached out, placing your hand gently on his shoulder.
He flinched but didn’t pull away.
And then, so quietly you almost didn’t catch it, he whispered,
"I don’t feel like me anymore."
Your chest ached so fiercely it hurt to breathe.
You squeezed his shoulder, grounding him.
"You don’t have to feel okay all the time," you said, voice barely above a whisper.
"You just have to let someone in, Noah."
He finally lifted his head a little, just enough for you to see his face.
Red-rimmed eyes. Tear tracks glistening on flushed cheeks.
The kind of broken look that cracked you right down the middle.
"I’m fine," he rasped, but his voice was so raw, so hollow, it shattered the lie before it even finished leaving his mouth.
"You’re crying," you pointed out softly, not accusing, just stating the truth he didn’t want to admit.
He didn’t deny it.
Didn’t make some sarcastic remark to deflect.
He just wiped at his face angrily with the sleeve of his hoodie, like he could erase the weakness if he scrubbed hard enough.
"I don’t know how to keep up anymore," he whispered, voice cracking.
"Every night I feel like I’m falling apart. And I still go back out there... like it’s nothing. Like I’m supposed to pretend it doesn’t feel like everything inside me is breaking."
You slid closer, closing the distance between you until your knees bumped.
You didn’t say anything yet.
You just sat with him in the dark.
Letting him know he wasn’t alone.
He let out a shaky breath, hands digging into his hair, gripping it like he was trying to hold himself together by sheer force.
"It’s like... like no matter what I do, it’s never enough," he choked out.
"I scream my lungs out and I still wonder if they even hear me. I give everything and I still feel empty. I get up there every night and... it’s like... it’s like I’m screaming into a void that doesn’t care if I bleed."
The words tumbled out faster now, years of pressure cracking wide open.
His whole body was shaking.
You could see how hard he was trying not to completely fall apart.
But it was too much.
Finally, finally, the dam broke.
Noah pressed the heels of his palms against his eyes, shoulders shaking with the force of the sobs he couldn’t hold back anymore.
Harsh, broken sounds ripped from his chest, and you didn’t hesitate. You pulled him into you, wrapping your arms around him tight, letting him bury his face into your shoulder.
"I’m right here," you murmured, rocking him slightly as he fell apart in your arms.
"You don’t have to do this alone. You’re not alone, Noah."
He clung to you like you were the only thing keeping him from falling through the cracks.
May 21st, 2023. Myrtle Beach, SC
Matt scratched the back of his neck, wincing like he was about to get punched.
"Okay, uh… so I messed up the hotel reservations," he said, not meeting your eyes.
You blinked at him.
Noah, standing beside you, crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow.
"How bad?" Noah asked flatly.
Matt grimaced. "You two have to share a room."
Noah's brow lifted higher, amused. "One bed?"
Matt nodded, looking thoroughly miserable. "Yeah. I booked a room too less. It’s either share or one of you sleeps in the hallway."
You exchanged a glance with Noah. He shrugged, not looking particularly bothered.
"Fine by me," he said, already grabbing his bag. "Not the weirdest thing that's happened this week."
Later that night, the room was quiet, save for the low hum of the air conditioner.
You lay in bed, facing the ceiling, your body exhausted but your mind buzzing.
Across from you, you heard Noah tossing and turning, the sheets rustling with every frustrated movement.
You turned your head toward him.
"Noah?" you whispered into the dark.
No answer.
Only the faintest sound of whimpering.
You sat up quickly, heart tightening painfully in your chest.
He was thrashing lightly, trapped somewhere deep inside a nightmare.
You reached out, gently placing your hand on his arm.
He jerked awake with a sharp gasp, body tensing under your touch. His eyes were wide and wild, chest heaving like he couldn’t get enough air.
"Hey, hey," you said softly, keeping your voice low and soothing. "It’s just me. You’re safe. I’m right here."
He blinked rapidly, trying to reorient himself.
Sweat clung to his forehead, and his whole body trembled.
"I’m here," you repeated, sliding a little closer so he could see you clearly. "You’re okay, Noah. It’s over."
He nodded shakily and laid back down, but you could still see the way his hands fisted into the sheets, how hard he was breathing like the fear hadn’t left him yet.
You hesitated, then asked gently, "Wanna talk about it?"
He didn’t answer right away.
For a moment, you thought he might brush it off like he usually did.
But then, voice rough and broken, he whispered,
"I dreamt... I dreamt that I was on stage and the lights were so bright, I couldn’t see. I kept singing but... no one was there. The whole place was empty."
You listened, heart breaking all over again.
"I screamed until my throat bled," he continued, voice cracking. "But there was just... silence. Nothing. No one cared. I was just... standing there, bleeding and screaming into nothing."
His voice broke completely then, a sharp, aching sound he couldn’t hide.
Tears slid down his cheeks, and he angrily wiped at them, frustrated at himself for crying.
Without thinking, you shifted closer and pulled him gently into your arms.
At first, he stiffened, like he wasn’t sure he deserved the comfort.
But then he sagged against you, all the fight draining from him.
You wrapped your arms tighter around him, letting him bury his face against your shoulder.
He clung to you like a lifeline, silent tears soaking into your shirt.
"I’ve got you," you murmured into his hair, one hand stroking slow, steady circles across his back.
"You’re not alone, Noah. You’re never alone."
He didn’t speak again.
Eventually, his breathing evened out, his body relaxing bit by bit as exhaustion pulled him under.
You stayed awake a while longer, holding him, making sure the nightmares stayed away.
May 23rd, 2023. Raleigh, NC
Noah had stormed off after the set, slipping away before anyone could stop him.
Now, hours later, the exhaustion was bone-deep.
You and Folio had spent the night combing the streets around the hotel, scanning alleys and bars and parking lots with growing desperation.
Jolly and Nicholas stayed back by the bus, just in case Noah circled back on his own.
Matt paced the hotel lobby, phone glued to his ear, barking into voicemails that never got answered.
By 2 AM, you and Folio finally dragged yourselves back to the lobby, shoulders slumped, defeated.
Matt sat hunched in an armchair, head buried in his hands. He looked up at the sound of the doors swinging open.
"Nothing?" Matt asked, voice raw.
You opened your mouth to answer, but the hotel door creaked again.
Everyone's head snapped toward the entrance.
Noah stood there.
Eyes glassy and distant.
Blood dripping from his hand.
His hoodie was half-off one shoulder, his knuckles scraped raw.
"Noah," you gasped, breaking into a sprint. You reached him first, hands hovering, unsure where to touch. "What did you do?"
He gave a crooked, exhausted smile.
"Got into a fight. With a wall. I think the wall won."
You turned sharply to look at Matt, then at Folio.
"Noah… are you drunk?" Matt asked carefully, stepping closer.
Noah shrugged, swaying slightly on his feet. "Maybe?"
Without another word, you took his arm. Gently but firmly and started leading him toward the elevators.
Matt and Folio were right behind you.
"I’m gonna text Jolly and Nicholas. Let them know we found him," Matt muttered, pulling out his phone.
In the elevator, the silence was heavy.
Noah leaned against the wall, eyes half-shut, a thin trail of blood still dripping onto the floor.
You squeezed his arm lightly, a silent reassurance.
Back in your hotel room, Noah slumped down at the end of the bed without needing to be told.
Folio dropped onto the mattress beside him, keeping a steady hand on Noah’s back to ground him.
Matt helped you drag out your medical kit, spreading gauze, antiseptic, and bandages across the desk.
"Alright, superhero," you said softly, kneeling in front of him. "Let’s see the damage."
You pulled a pair of gloves on and gently took his hand. His knuckles were split open, deep enough that the blood still oozed slow and steady.
You cleaned the wounds carefully, muttering soothing nonsense under your breath.
Noah hissed once when the antiseptic hit, but otherwise stayed quiet, gaze locked somewhere far away.
You stitched him up slowly, methodically, threading needle through torn skin while Folio kept a steadying hand on his shoulder.
You wrapped his hand tightly in clean bandages, smoothing the tape down with extra care.
Just as you were finishing the last knot, Noah’s voice broke the silence.
A whisper. Barely audible.
"I can't do this anymore."
Everything in the room froze.
Matt’s head snapped up. Folio’s hand stilled against Noah’s back.
You looked up at him, heart thudding.
Matt was the first to speak. "Do what?" he asked, voice rough with confusion.
Before Noah could choke out a reply, you answered for him, standing slowly, your hands trembling with the force of your emotions.
"Matt," you said sharply. "Don’t tell me you didn’t notice."
Matt blinked at you, confused and tired.
"Notice what?"
You turned, pointing gently toward Noah, who sat crumpled and small at the edge of the bed.
"Matt, he’s completely drained. Burned out. He needs to rest. He’s been running himself into the ground for weeks. And no one said anything."
As you spoke, Noah’s shoulders shook silently.
At first, none of you noticed.
But then Folio’s eyes widened slightly, and he reached out, pulling Noah into a side hug.
You dropped down in front of him again, placing your hands carefully on his upper arms, grounding him, anchoring him.
You could feel the way he trembled under your touch.
Silent tears streamed down Noah’s face, raw and unguarded.
He buried his head against Folio’s shoulder, his entire body curling in on itself like he was trying to disappear.
"Hey, Noah," you whispered, voice thick with emotion, "it’s gonna be okay. We’re here. You have us. You’re not alone."
Matt knelt down beside you, guilt etched deep into his face.
"Dude… I’m so sorry," Matt said hoarsely. "I didn’t notice. I should’ve seen it. I’m sorry, man."
Noah didn’t answer, just shook harder.
Matt reached out too, squeezing Noah’s other shoulder gently.
"We’ll figure something out," Matt promised quietly. "Together. I swear. You’re not gonna carry this by yourself anymore."
The four of you stayed like that for a long time.
No one in a rush to move.
No one willing to leave Noah alone in the dark again.
May 24th, 2023. Raleigh, NC
Matt had cleared Noah’s schedule for the day. No meet-and-greets, no soundcheck, no interviews. Just rest.
You were relieved. Honestly, both of you were. Noah had barely been holding it together lately, and today felt like a breath finally being let out.
Now, you sat side-by-side on the roof of the tour bus, lemon sodas sweating in your hands, the metal warm beneath you from the day’s heat. The sunset dripped pink and orange across the horizon, smearing the sky like someone had taken a paintbrush and dragged it carelessly. It was beautiful in that messy, aching kind of way.
Noah had slept nearly the whole day. He needed it, that was obvious. Even now, he still looked tired. His hair was messy, pushed back by the breeze, and he hadn't even bothered with shoes, just socks against the roof.
For a long time, you didn’t speak. The cicadas buzzed somewhere off in the trees, the distant hum of the city behind it. Noah tapped his thumb slowly against the side of his can, staring off at nothing.
Then, quietly, like he was almost afraid to say it aloud, he said,
"I’m feeling like I’m watching my dream rot."
You turned immediately, heart squeezing at the sound of his voice. The way it cracked slightly at the edges. He wasn’t looking at you; he was staring down into the opening of his soda can like it held the answers.
"I love this," he added after a second, almost like he had to defend himself. "I do. But... I’m crumbling."
You shifted closer without thinking, setting your can down with a soft clink against the metal. You reached for him, your fingers brushing against his knuckles first before you threaded your hand through his and squeezed gently. His skin was a little cool from the drink, but his grip tightened around yours immediately, like he’d been waiting for something to anchor him.
"Hey," you said softly, squeezing again until he finally looked at you. His eyes were tired, rimmed in faint red, but they were open. "You’re not crumbling. You’re tired. There’s a difference."
Noah let out a breath that sounded almost like a laugh, but not quite.
"Feels the same," he muttered.
"It’s not," you insisted. "You’re not failing. You’re just... human. Even superheroes get tired, you know."
Noah smiled a little at that. Small, crooked. But it was the first real smile you’d seen from him all day.
"I don’t feel very super lately," he said, voice low. He leaned his head back until it rested lightly against your shoulder. You didn’t move, just adjusted slightly so he’d be more comfortable.
"You don’t have to be," you murmured, looking out at the sky as it deepened into darker pinks and purples. "You just have to be Noah. That’s more than enough."
He didn’t say anything for a moment. You felt the slow, steady pull of his breathing. The way he let himself be with you, no expectations, no pressure. Just the two of you, lemon sodas, and the endless Carolina sky above you.
"Thank you," he said finally, so soft you almost missed it.
You turned your head slightly, resting your cheek lightly against his hair. "Always."
Noah smiled again. Wider this time, the kind that touched his eyes and squeezed your hand back.
May 25th, 2023. Columbus, OH
The yelling echoed through the venue, sharp and unignorable even from the other side where you sat at your makeshift med station, repacking the first-aid supplies from the night before.
You didn’t need to hear every word to understand the heart of it. Voices cracking against the high ceilings, desperate and worn.
"Pressure,"
"Unfair,"
"Fucking tired."
The words carried like smoke, seeping through walls, curling around you even though you tried to focus on your work. You bit your lip, glancing toward the heavy curtains that separated you from the chaos.
Then. A shift.
The curtains stirred, and there he was.
Noah.
Eyes glassy, face pale, shoulders hunched in defeat like the weight of the whole world was tethered to his spine. He looked smaller than usual, like the fight had finally drained out of him.
"I didn’t know where else to go," he said, voice cracking halfway through.
You didn’t think. You dropped the gauze onto the table and immediately opened your arms.
He stumbled forward without hesitation, collapsing into you with the kind of force that made you take a step back to steady both of you. His forehead pressed against your shoulder, his arms wrapping around your waist like he was trying to hold himself together through sheer will.
You held him tightly, hands splayed across his back, anchoring him to you.
"I’m losing everyone," he whispered, the words trembling against your skin.
You shook your head, speaking firmly even though your heart was breaking for him.
"You haven’t lost me," you said, brushing your hand up and down his back in slow, soothing motions. "And you won’t lose the others, Noah. It’s just... it’s hard for them to see you breaking down. They don’t know how to help yet. But they love you. They're just scared too."
He clung tighter at that, fingers bunching into the fabric of your shirt like he was afraid letting go would mean unraveling completely.
"I don’t want to be broken," he choked out.
You pulled back just enough to cup his face between your hands, forcing him to look at you. His cheeks were damp, lashes clumped together. You wiped the tears away with your thumbs, gentle but sure.
"You're not broken," you said, voice steady. "You're hurting. There's a difference. Broken means you can't be fixed. And you're still here, Noah. Still fighting. That’s not broken. That’s brave."
For a second, he just stared at you, breathing unevenly. You could see the battle in his eyes. The part of him that wanted to believe you, and the part of him that was still drowning.
Then. Noises from the hallway.
Heavy footsteps. Voices calling out.
"Noah?"
"Bro, where are you?"
"Come on, man, just talk to us!"
You turned, still keeping a steadying hand on Noah's back as the curtains shifted again.
First Nicholas, looking frantic and guilty. Then Matt, Jolly, and Folio right behind him.
They all stopped short when they saw you holding him, the tension immediately dropping from their shoulders.
"There you are," Matt breathed, stepping forward. His voice was soft, careful, like he was approaching a wounded animal.
Nicholas scratched the back of his neck, eyes darting from Noah to you, clearly unsure how to start.
"We didn’t mean to..." Jolly started, but faltered. "We’re just worried, man."
Folio stepped in next, crouching slightly to be on Noah’s eye level even though he wasn’t sure Noah would look up.
"You’re not losing us," he said, voice thick with emotion. "Okay? You’re stuck with us, like it or not."
Nicholas took a tentative step closer, heart in his throat.
"We get it now," he said, voice rough. "We should’ve... we should’ve seen it sooner. You’re not alone in this, Noah. You never were."
Matt gave a small, almost sad smile, hands in his hoodie pocket.
"You don’t have to carry it all by yourself, dude. Let us help. Let us be here for you."
Slowly, Noah pulled his face from your shoulder, blinking like he was still trying to process that they were really there, that they meant it.
"Even if you’re tired... even if you feel broken..." Jolly added, "We’re still here. Always."
For a beat, nobody moved.
Then Nicholas crossed the space first, wrapping his arms around Noah from the side. Matt and Jolly followed, piling into the hug, Folio throwing his arms over all of them. You felt yourself getting caught up in it too, squeezed between them, the warmth and pressure a tangible reminder: he wasn’t alone. Not even close.
Noah let out a wet, shaky laugh against your shoulder, a sound somewhere between relief and disbelief.
"I’m sorry," he muttered.
"Don’t be sorry, bro," Matt said immediately. "We’re sorry for not seeing it sooner."
"We love you, man," Nicholas added, squeezing his shoulder tightly. "Nothing’s gonna change that."
Noah sniffled, a real, soft smile finally pulling at the corners of his mouth.
"Love you guys too," he said, voice hoarse but real.
They all held on a little tighter at that.
May 26th, 2023. Grand Rapids, MI
The final note still echoed through the venue, vibrating through the floorboards and into the bones of everyone there. The crowd’s deafening roar followed it, washing over the stage like a tidal wave. But to Noah, it sounded far away, muted, like he was underwater.
He strode offstage, mic still clenched tightly in his hand, each step toward the wings making his chest pull tighter, breath harder to catch.
You were waiting just beyond the curtain, heart hammering painfully in your chest as you caught sight of him.
Noah barely made it two more steps before he sank to his knees against the wall, the mic slipping from his fingers and clattering softly onto the ground. His shoulders trembled, silent sobs already racking his body.
Without thinking, you dropped to your knees beside him, gathering him up into your arms like it was the most natural thing in the world.
He didn’t resist. He folded into you immediately, forehead pressing against your collarbone, fists clutching weakly at your shirt.
A handful of crew members stopped nearby, uncertainty written across their faces. Nobody quite knew whether to step in or give space.
Then Matt rounded the corner, jogging lightly toward the commotion, and stopped dead when he saw Noah crumpled in your arms. His face paled, concern flooding every line of his body.
"Noah?" Matt whispered, voice breaking the stillness like glass.
Through the haze of tears, Noah just shook his head fiercely, squeezing his eyes shut tighter. His voice, when it came, was barely audible:
"Too loud," he choked out. "Too many eyes."
You tightened your arms around him, pressing a soft, grounding kiss against his temple. His skin was clammy under your lips, and your heart ached.
"You were incredible tonight," you whispered, close enough that only he could hear. "You always are, Noah. Every single night."
Noah shuddered, and then his whole body seemed to go limp against you, the fight bleeding out of him all at once.
You rocked him gently, one hand cradling the back of his head, the other rubbing soothing circles into his back.
"It’s okay to break," you murmured, lips brushing against his hair. "I’ve got you. Always."
Matt dropped to his knees opposite you without hesitation, already pulling his radio up to his mouth to quietly call for a water bottle and a towel. His movements were quick but careful, trying not to overwhelm Noah more.
Nicholas appeared next, his face tight with worry. He fumbled for the tissue packet in his back pocket and held it out with shaking fingers.
Jolly knelt down too, resting a broad, steady hand on Noah’s trembling shoulder, grounding him without crowding him.
Folio crouched on Noah’s other side, not saying a word. Just placing a firm, reassuring hand on Noah’s knee, a silent I'm here.
For a few moments, the world outside the curtain didn't exist. Just the soft clatter of the crew moving quietly, the distant thrum of the leaving crowd unaware of the scene unfolding backstage, and the fragile, heavy breathing of the boy in your arms.
Noah finally lifted his head slightly, blinking hard against the tears still clinging to his lashes. His red-rimmed, glassy eyes found yours first, locking onto you like you were the only steady thing in a world still spinning too fast.
"Thank you," he rasped, the words raw but full of meaning.
You brushed his hair back from his forehead gently, giving him a soft, reassuring smile.
"Always," you whispered back. "Always, Noah."
The others stayed close, creating a protective circle around him without ever making him feel trapped.
The room was suffused with a kind of tender, unspoken hush. A reverence for the moment, for the break in Noah’s armor, for the way love sometimes looked less like loud declarations and more like quiet presence.
You tightened your arms around him slightly, feeling the subtle way he leaned into your touch, trusting you, trusting all of them.
Here, in the dim backstage of a roaring venue, you held him steady. Not in secret, not hidden. But right in front of everyone who cared more than they had ever admitted out loud.
And they would be here, you all silently promised, for as long as he needed.
May 27th, 2023. St. Louis, MO
It was just past 2AM when a soft, hesitant knock at your bunk pulled you from the edges of sleep.
You blinked groggily, heart already tightening a little because you knew exactly who it would be.
"Hey," came Noah’s voice, a rough, trembling whisper through the thin fabric. "I can’t sleep."
You reached out, pulling the curtain open just enough to see him standing there barefoot, in sweatpants and a hoodie that looked a size too big on him. Eyes glassy, skin pale in the dim blue emergency lights lining the bus hallway.
You didn’t hesitate. You patted the little empty space beside you, lifting the blanket invitingly.
"Hop in," you said softly, your voice still raspy from sleep.
Noah didn’t need to be told twice. He ducked his head and slithered under the covers with you in the way to tight bunk, moving slowly, like he was trying not to break something fragile.
As soon as he was close enough, you shifted to make room, wrapping an arm securely around his middle and pulling him into your chest. His body was stiff at first. Wired with exhaustion and whatever storm still brewed in his chest. But the second your hand splayed across his back, he melted against you.
"Your hoodie smells like home," he whispered, voice muffled against your shoulder. His cheek pressed into you, seeking every ounce of comfort you could give.
You smiled softly, threading your fingers gently through his hair, letting your nails scratch lightly at his scalp the way you knew soothed him.
"I’m right here," you murmured, pressing your lips to the top of his head.
Noah breathed in. Sharp at first, a stuttering inhale like he was trying not to cry again. Relief. Exhaustion. Safety. All wrapped up into one broken, beautiful breath.
You tucked his arm securely across your waist, holding it there with your hand so he’d feel anchored, tethered to something solid.
"Sleep now," you whispered against his hair. "You need it, Noah."
He didn’t answer. But he didn’t need to.
Within minutes, you felt the change. The way his breathing evened out, slow and steady, his body growing heavier against yours as sleep finally, finally claimed him.
You stayed awake a little longer, unwilling to move, unwilling to break the fragile peace that had settled around the two of you like a blanket.
Your hand drifted in slow, lazy circles across his back, tracing invisible patterns, grounding him even as he slept.
And as you lay there in the dark, listening to the gentle rise and fall of his breathing, you found yourself silently, fiercely grateful, that tonight, you could give him this.
Peace.
Safety.
Home.
All the things he deserved, wrapped up in your arms.
May 28th, 2023. Fort Wayne, IN
The morning was quiet on the bus, the kind of sleepy peace that came after too many late nights stacked together.
You stood at the little counter in the cramped kitchen, carefully measuring out ingredients for pancakes, trying not to jostle the bag of flour too hard and send it puffing everywhere. A bowl of chocolate chips sat within reach, waiting to be folded in.
You barely noticed when Matt stepped in until you felt him hovering.
He leaned casually against the doorway, arms folded across his chest, watching you a little too intently.
"Hey," he said finally, voice easy but edged with something more serious.
You glanced up, giving him a questioning look without pausing in your measuring.
Matt scratched the back of his neck, shifting his weight. "I’ve noticed you two," he said, tone gentle, almost teasing. "Getting pretty close."
You froze mid-pour, batter dripping slowly from the measuring cup.
"I’m just helping him," you said quietly, setting the cup down and wiping your hands on a dish towel. There was no defensiveness in your voice. Just honesty.
Matt exhaled through his nose, a small, knowing grin pulling at the corner of his mouth. He wasn’t accusing. He understood.
"Good," he said after a beat. "Because he needs you right now. But..." He pushed off the doorway, stepping closer. His expression softened, voice dipping lower, more protective. "Don’t let him lean on you so hard that you break too."
You turned fully to face him then, meeting his steady gaze without flinching. The sincerity there — the quiet worry for both you and Noah — settled heavy in your chest.
"I’ll let you know when I need a breather," you promised, giving him a small, reassuring smile.
Matt studied you for another moment, then nodded, satisfied.
"He trusts you more than anyone," he said. "Just... make sure he doesn’t forget how to trust himself too."
You bit your lip, emotions swelling under your ribs.
Wordlessly, you reached into the bowl of chocolate chips, scooping a spoonful, and held it out to him like a peace offering.
Matt chuckled, the tension breaking. He leaned forward and plucked a few off the spoon before popping them into his mouth.
"Deal," you said, voice lighter now.
Matt clapped your shoulder. A solid, grateful kind of touch. One that said more than words ever could.
"Thanks for being his anchor," he said, squeezing once before letting go.
You watched him walk away, disappearing back down the narrow hallway toward the bunks.
As you turned back to the batter, stirring it gently, a quiet realization settled into your bones:
The band didn’t just rely on Noah.
They were starting to rely on you, too.
And somehow, without even meaning to, you had become part of the thread stitching them all together.
You glanced toward the hallway where Noah was still sleeping, and smiled softly to yourself.
You wouldn't let any of them fall apart alone.
Not if you could help it.
May 30th, 2023. Des Moines, IA
The next evening, the green room was almost empty, filled only with the low hum of a distant air vent and the quiet rustle of supplies as you sat cross-legged on the carpet, reorganizing the first-aid kit.
Bandages, antiseptic wipes, gauze. You methodically checked every box, every roll, hands moving out of habit more than thought.
You didn’t hear Noah approach at first.
It wasn’t until he cleared his throat. A small, uncertain sound.
He stood just inside the doorway, hoodie sleeves pushed up, hair still damp from the post-soundcheck shower. There was a hesitancy in the way he hovered, like he wasn’t sure if he should interrupt.
Without a word, you shifted to the side, making room on the floor.
Noah crossed the room and sat down across from you, mirroring your position, his legs folding awkwardly under him. His gaze found yours almost immediately.
For a moment, neither of you said anything. You went back to stacking supplies, giving him space to find the words he was clearly working up to.
Finally, Noah broke the silence, his voice small but steady:
"I don’t think I ever properly thanked you," he said.
You set down the box of gauze you were holding, giving him your full attention.
"You don’t have to," you said quietly, meaning every word.
But Noah shook his head, almost fiercely, leaning forward across the scattered first-aid supplies. His hand reached out, tentative at first, then firmer as he took yours, cradling it between both of his.
The touch startled something warm and aching in your chest.
"No," he said again, voice thick with emotion. "I do."
He squeezed your hand lightly, grounding himself. His thumb brushed absentmindedly over your knuckles, like he needed the connection just as much as the words.
"You saved my life," he said, the confession tumbling out in a breath. His eyes, wide and dark, searched yours with a rawness that made it hard to breathe. "On stage. Off stage. In flights. In hotels. Everywhere. You never left."
Your heart clenched painfully. You swallowed hard, forcing back the lump rising in your throat.
You tightened your hand around his, steady and sure.
"We’re a team," you whispered, voice catching slightly. "You would’ve done the same for me."
Noah didn’t look away. His fingers laced tighter with yours, like he could somehow say the rest of the things he didn’t know how to voice through touch alone.
"Thank you," he said again, softer this time, like a prayer. "For everything."
The air between you buzzed. Not heavy, not uncomfortable but thick with all the things words would never fully capture.
You gave his hand one more reassuring squeeze and offered a tiny, trembling smile.
"You don’t have to thank me," you repeated, just as quietly. "Just stay. That’s all."
And Noah nodded, a promise written all over his face.
He wasn’t going anywhere.
Neither were you.
June 1st, 2023. Omaha, NE
The bus rocked gently beneath your feet as you padded down the narrow hallway, the soft hum of the engine and faint chatter from outside lulling the world into a late-night haze.
As you passed the little kitchen nook, you spotted Noah standing there, half-shadowed in the dim lighting.
The overhead bulb cast a soft, almost golden glow across his features highlighting the exhaustion in his eyes, the way his shoulders sagged under the weight of everything he'd been carrying.
He lifted his head when he saw you, something tender and vulnerable flickering in his gaze.
"Can I talk to you for a moment?" he asked, voice low, almost hesitant.
You immediately shifted your path toward him, offering a small smile.
"Of course," you said. "What's up?"
Noah didn’t answer right away. Instead, he reached out, fingers curling around your hand. His grip was warm, steady, but you could feel the tremor underneath like he was holding onto something delicate and precious.
Without letting go, he tugged you gently toward the front of the bus, pulling you into the living room where the couches and worn coffee table sat in cozy disarray.
He didn't let go of your hand even as he sat down heavily on the couch, looking up at you with an expression so open, so raw, it made your heart ache.
You sat down beside him, turning to face him fully, your knees brushing his.
Noah took a deep breath, visibly gathering himself. His thumb rubbed a nervous pattern across the back of your hand.
"I’ve been wanting to say this the whole day," he began, words tumbling out in a rush. "But... I couldn’t find the right words. I kept overthinking it and—" He broke off, shaking his head.
You squeezed his hand gently, silently telling him to just breathe. Just talk.
He inhaled shakily.
"You..." he said, voice cracking slightly, "you saved my life. Not just the night in Raleigh, or Grand Rapids, or anywhere in between. You saved me every day. Every time you smiled at me. Every time you sat with me when the world felt too heavy to move. Every time you told me it was okay to not be okay."
Your chest tightened, emotion building under your ribs so hard it hurt.
"You made me want to stay," Noah whispered. His fingers tightened around yours, like he was afraid if he let go, he'd lose his nerve. "You made me smile again. You reminded me that... even when I felt broken, I wasn’t unlovable. That I was still worth something."
He looked up at you then, and the sheer vulnerability in his eyes stole the breath straight from your lungs.
"You made me feel like I could be more than my sadness," he said, voice trembling. "You made me feel like home wasn’t some place I’d lost. It was right here, in you."
Your breath caught audibly in your throat.
"Noah," you whispered, barely able to get his name past the tightness in your chest.
He shifted closer, so close now you could feel the heat radiating off his body. His hands. Both of them came up to cradle yours, thumbs brushing soothing, reverent circles across your skin.
His eyes never left yours as he said, in a voice so full of certainty it made you want to cry:
"I love you. In every stitch. In every scar. In every broken, battered piece of me... you’re my home."
Tears pricked sharply at your eyes, blurring your vision. You let out a shaky, broken laugh, overwhelmed, heart splitting wide open in the best way possible.
"I love you too," you choked out, no hesitation, no fear. Just truth.
For a heartbeat, you both just stared at each other, emotions laid bare between you like a map of every scar and every healing wound.
Then Noah moved. Slow, careful, giving you every chance to pull away. And when you didn’t, when you leaned in just as eagerly, he closed the distance.
His lips met yours softly at first, like a secret being shared for the first time.
You sighed against him, melting into the kiss, arms sliding up around his neck as he pulled you closer, closer, like he couldn’t stand a single inch of space between you.
The kiss deepened gradually, growing surer, more desperate, like all the things you hadn’t said, all the moments you hadn’t touched, were finally pouring out.
The world outside faded into nothing. The engine’s hum, the distant noise from the venue, even the flicker of the bus lights.
There was only Noah.
Only you.
And the quiet, beautiful truth that had been waiting between you all along.
June 2nd, 2023. Kansas City, MO
The next morning, the bus was already stirring with soft laughter and the smell of brewing coffee when you and Noah finally emerged from the hallway.
His hand was wrapped tightly around yours, fingers intertwined like he wasn’t ready to let you go.
You made your way toward the little dining booth at the front of the bus where the rest of the guys were already gathered, sleepy-eyed but lively.
As soon as they spotted you, Jolly let out a low, teasing whistle.
"Well, look at you two lovebirds," he drawled, smirking over the rim of his coffee mug.
Nicholas, still nursing his first cup of caffeine, lifted it in a lazy toast, his eyes twinkling.
"Congrats," he said simply, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Matt, who had been sprawled out across the bench, immediately straightened up, grinning so wide it nearly split his face. He slid into the booth opposite you two, leaning his elbows on the table with exaggerated excitement.
"About time," he said, shaking his head like he’d been waiting years for this moment.
You ducked your head, cheeks warming, but couldn’t help the smile tugging at your lips. Noah squeezed your hand beneath the table, grounding you with that quiet, steady touch you were already so hopelessly attached to.
He cleared his throat, glancing at the guys, voice thick but certain.
"She saved me," he said, giving your hand another gentle squeeze, "and so did you guys. Thank you... all of you. So much."
There was a beat. A soft moment where everything stilled, like the gravity of his words deserved space to settle.
Then, as if they’d rehearsed it, all four of them said at once, voices overlapping with easy, unfiltered affection:
"Of course."
Folio, who was leaning back in his seat with his arms stretched over the back of the booth, tipped his head toward you both with a smirk.
"Just so you know," he said, his voice teasing but fond, "I called that from the second she stitched him up back in Colorado."
You laughed, unable to hold it back, the memory flashing through your mind. Noah wincing, you hovering over him with shaking hands, neither of you realizing that something bigger had already started that night.
You leaned into Noah’s shoulder, hiding your grin against the soft fabric of his hoodie. He tilted his head slightly, pressing a small, secret kiss to the top of your hair.
The guys erupted into cheers, clinking glasses, mugs, and even a random water bottle together in a loud, messy, absolutely perfect celebration.
The teasing was relentless. Jolly pretending to wipe a tear, Nicholas fake-offended that no one placed bets, Matt loudly announcing he better be the best man if there’s a wedding someday. But it was warm, easy, and wrapped in all the chaotic love that had built itself between you all without even trying.
As you sat there, tucked into Noah’s side, his hand still clutching yours like it was the only thing keeping him steady, you realized something beautiful. This wasn’t just a relationship.
It was a family.
And you had never been more at home.
June 3rd, 2023. Memphis, TN
The air backstage buzzed with the low hum of crew chatter, the faint rumble of the crowd bleeding through the walls like a living heartbeat.
You weaved through the maze of cables and cases, scanning for him and there, by the monitor world, you spotted Noah.
He was adjusting his in-ears, fingers fumbling slightly, his shoulders wound tight with nerves.
You moved toward him quietly, not wanting to startle him. When you reached him, he looked up, the tension plain in his face.
"I’m nervous," he admitted, voice low, almost sheepish, as if confessing a secret he wasn’t proud of.
You stepped closer, into his space, feeling the familiar magnetic pull between you. Gently, you reached up, brushing a stray strand of hair back from his forehead, fingertips lingering a second longer than necessary.
"You’ve come so far," you reminded him softly, your voice steady, sure, "Remember that night? The one when I found you crying in the corner after the show? You were convinced you couldn't do this anymore."
He let out a breath that trembled at the edges, his gaze dropping for a moment, like the memory still hurt to touch.
You hooked your finger under his chin, guiding him to look at you.
"Look at you now," you said, smiling gently.
His eyes, dark and uncertain, searched yours.
"I never thought I’d make it," he whispered, almost like he didn’t believe it even now.
Your heart squeezed. Without thinking, you cupped his cheek, thumb brushing the faint stubble there, grounding him.
"You did," you said fiercely, "Not just because you had to. Because you chose to. You’ve been stronger than you ever knew, Noah."
He leaned into your hand like it was the only thing holding him up, eyes shimmering with the kind of gratitude that words could never fully carry.
"Thank you," he said hoarsely, "for believing when I couldn’t. For staying."
You smiled through the emotion thickening your throat. Leaning up on your toes, you pressed a kiss to his lips. A soft, lingering kiss that was part promise, part prayer, part I’m with you, always.
When you pulled back, you rested your forehead lightly against his.
"I am so, so proud of you," you whispered. "Now go out there. Show them the real you. Show them the heart they fell in love with. The same one I did."
Noah exhaled, a deep, steadying breath. You watched as the tension slowly uncoiled from his frame. He nodded, a small but sure smile curving his lips.
"Okay," he said, squeezing your waist gently, grounding himself in your touch one last time before he had to let go.
He squared his shoulders, standing taller, a light coming back into his eyes.
And without another word, he turned and strode toward the stage, the roar of the crowd growing louder, swallowing him whole.
You stayed back, hand pressed to your chest, heart full, watching the man you loved step into his light. A light he had built from the ashes, with your hand in his.
June 4th, 2023. Wichita, KS
It was the last night before you would fly back home to LA.
The final show had ended in a haze of cheers and lights and raw magic. Better than either of you could have dreamed. It felt untouchable, almost surreal.
Hours later, in the dim, quiet hotel room, the adrenaline was still humming beneath your skin, refusing to settle.
Noah closed the door softly behind him, locking the world out. His eyes found yours in the low light, and that unspoken tension. The one that had been simmering between you all day finally snapped.
He crossed the room in two strides, hands cradling your face as he kissed you hard, like he was starving, like he couldn't get close enough.
You barely made it to the bed before he was guiding you down, hovering over you, his weight a comforting pressure you needed more than air.
You kissed for what felt like hours, slow and deep, the kind of kisses that made you forget what day it was, what your own name was.
You tugged gently on the hem of his shirt, breaking the kiss just enough to whisper, "Take it off."
He hesitated, breathing heavy, forehead pressed to yours.
"Are you sure?" he rasped, voice thick with tension, hope, and a trembling restraint that made your chest ache.
You nodded, thumb brushing the sharp edge of his jaw.
"More than sure," you breathed. "Please, Noah."
He kissed you again, softer this time, almost reverent, before peeling off his shirt and tossing it somewhere into the dark.
Every touch after that felt sacred. His fingers trailed along your collarbone like he was memorizing you, while your hands mapped the planes of his back, the dip of his spine.
You let out a low moan when his fingers found your chest through your shirt, pinching your nipple gently.
You arched into him, reaching for the hem of your shirt and pulling it over your head in one fluid motion.
Noah sucked in a breath, eyes devouring you.
He carefully unclasped your bra, letting it fall away, leaving you bare under his gaze.
"You're so damn beautiful," he whispered like a prayer, tracing his thumb over your exposed skin. "How do I even deserve you?"
You didn’t answer. You couldn’t. Not with the way his words cracked something open inside you. Instead, you tugged him down into another searing kiss, hands threading through his hair.
You kissed your way down his throat, his chest, his stomach, taking your time, feeling every shiver he gave you.
When you reached the waistband of his jeans, you glanced up at him, asking for permission without speaking.
He gave the softest nod.
You undid his belt slowly, teasing him, hearing the hitch in his breathing. Then you tugged his jeans and boxers down in one swift, confident motion.
You pressed slow kisses to his thighs, feeling him tremble under your touch.
When you finally took him into your mouth, his reaction was instant. A deep, guttural groan that made heat flare between your legs.
You licked the tip first, swirling your tongue, before taking him deeper, bopping your head in a steady rhythm.
After a few blissful moments, his hand found your hair, guiding you gently but urgently, hips stuttering.
"Shit, I’m so close," he gasped, voice wrecked.
You let him slip from your mouth with a soft pop, a string of saliva connecting you still. His desperate whine nearly undid you.
"Why'd you stop?" Noah asked, breathless, wide-eyed.
You climbed back up his body, straddling his hips, smirking against his flushed skin.
"Because," you whispered against his ear, "I want you to cum inside me, baby."
Noah let out a groan so raw it made your whole body shiver.
"Are you trying to fucking kill me?" he growled, but his hands were already gripping your hips like he’d die if he let go.
You kissed him hard, stealing the rest of his sanity, before pulling back just enough to shimmy out of your skirt and panties.
Noah’s eyes darkened as he took you in, hands roaming like he couldn't decide where to touch first. He slid one hand down to where you were aching for him, rubbing slow, teasing circles that made you keen.
"Noah," you whimpered, rocking into his hand, "I need you. Inside me. Please."
He didn't make you beg twice.
Guiding you carefully, you sank down onto him, both of you letting out broken, desperate sounds as he filled you.
You moved slowly at first, adjusting to the sweet stretch of him, your forehead resting against his.
His hands gripped your waist, and then he was meeting your hips with his own, thrusting up into you hard enough to punch moans from both of you.
"Fuck, you feel like heaven," he groaned, lips ghosting over your throat.
You rode him like it was the only thing that mattered, skin against skin, messy and beautiful and real.
The room filled with the sounds of your bodies. The wet slap of skin, the choked off moans, the whispered praises, and quiet, breathless laughter when you bumped noses or fumbled, too drunk on each other to care.
You fell over the edge together, clinging to each other like a lifeline, gasping each other's names into the space between your mouths.
Afterward, you collapsed against him, hearts pounding wildly in sync.
He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close, holding you like he’d never let go.
You pressed a kiss to the inked skin of his chest, right over his heart.
"I'm always gonna be here for you, Noah. No matter what," you whispered, voice cracking with the weight of how much you meant it.
He tightened his arms around you, resting his forehead against yours.
"And I’m always gonna love you," he murmured back, sealing the promise with a soft kiss.
You lay there like that for a long time, tangled up in each other, breathing the same air, sharing the same future.
After a while, Noah brushed your hair back and looked at you with something new in his eyes. Something scared and hopeful all at once.
"I know it’s still fresh," he said quietly, "and it’s extremely early... but... will you move in with us? With me?"
You blinked, tears stinging your eyes for a whole different reason this time.
Grinning wide enough that it hurt, you cupped his face between your hands.
"Of course I will, Noah," you said, voice shaking with happiness. "There’s no place else I’d rather be."
He kissed you again, smiling against your lips.
Later, you lay together, already talking about which room would be yours, how you’d make it a real home. Not just for Noah, but for you both.
The future didn't feel so scary anymore.

GIRLLLL, I'm utterly obsessed with the dealer!Remus agenda, we absolutely need more
ahhh! im so glad you like my fav version of rem!!💕💕💕 im so sorry for making you wait that long but it's finally here! enjoy😘🫶🏻
I've been missing you lately - Remus Lupin x reader
paring; remus x fem!dealer summary; it's been weeks, and remus and reader couldn't see each other for a while, when they finally meet again, remus wants to show reader how much he missed her cw; smut, dealer!remus, soft!dom remus, cocky!remus, switch dynamics if you squint, built up sexual frustration pt 1; pt 2

Weeks had passed since that last hookup with remus, and you couldn't bear it anymore. After days and days of built up sexual frustration you felt like you were going crazy. And also, you kinda missed him. You missed his hands, his lips, his body in general really; you missed getting high with him and, more than anything, you missed the feeling of his touch on you.
You got sick with a flu after the party (maybe the bare legs in October weren't the best idea after all), and then there was halloween weekend, that you spent with different people. Then he was suspended again for smoking in the bathrooms, and since then you spent hours and hours thinking about him, looking at the clock, counting the days that separated you from him.
One night, you couldn't sleep and you felt like you were losing your mind, so you impulsively decided to text him. You just wrote "I've been missing you lately", hoping that it would make you feel lighter.
You woke up the next morning with still no response from him. You immediately felt yourself fill with regret and embarrassment, and you prayed that he would forget that text and never mention it again.
The next day, you were late for your 11.00 am class, so you were actually in a rush when you saw him. He was walking lazily in the empty hallways, a cigarette placed behind his ear, messy hair covering his forehead, his chin hidden inside the collar of his zipped up air breaker. His tired eyes were the only visible thing, they seemed huge, surrounded by dark circles. Those eyes made your legs weak. He was more handsome than you remembered and as he noticed you, you felt your heart rate increasing. "Y/n" he smiled, his face lit up, you felt butterflies fill up your guts. You smiled too "hi" "what are you up to on this lovely morning?" you shrugged "just late for chem" "yeah, me too" he said shrugging
You then remembered you had chemistry together. "We should really get going then" you smiled nervously fastening your pace "or.." Remus interrupted you. You looked at him, a mischievous smile was painting his lips "What if we skipped?"
You sighed, looking at the clock, if you wanted to avoid another late report you had to get going. Now, and quickly. But on the other hand...ugh! no! you couldn't. "I really shouldn't" you mumbled, biting your lip "well, that's a shame, cause I just restocked my stash" he winked, you smiled sadly, "I really wish I could"
Remus sighed, then he wrapped an arm around your shoulders "but" he whispered "you said you were missing me", you could hear the smile in his voice. You suddenly blushed, his warm breath on your ear giving you goosebumps.
You looked at him, your eyes locked, your heart was beating faster. His gaze wandered on your figure, a cocky smile formed on his lips. "Don't you wanna spend time with me?" you bit your lips, looked at your shoes.
Your mom would've been so disappointed if she knew, but you couldn't help it. "Okay, let's go" the words escaped from your mouth before you could stop them. You started walking towards the exit, as Remus followed you smiling. It was November, but the school parking lot was drowned in warm sunlight.
Remus unlocked his car and opened the door for you "your carriage is here", he joked. You shook your head amused, secretly realizing you were missing him so bad cause he really filled your dull days with warmth.
He drove away fast, and you didn't know if it was for his fear of being caught or for an excitement similar to yours. "Aren't you just back from suspension?" he shrugged "well, I guess..." you chuckled "maybe skipping class was a bold move"
He laughed "but i'm a bad boy!" you rolled your eyes, teasing him, he laughed "what? I'm not believable am I? I knew it" "but why you do this stuff then" you asked "cause I want to I guess"
You chuckled "this response isn't reasonable at all" he looked at you smiling "it is very reasonable to prefer a smoke sesh with a sexy girl to a boring ass chem lesson actually" you looked away, your face immediately blushing.
A thing about Remus was: he always knew how to get you flustered, and you could tell that he enjoyed it, as he kept driving with a fake nonchalance, biting his lips to refrain them from smiling.
"Where are we going by the way?" you asked, changing the topic "where my stash is" "which is?" he smiled "my room dummy" you blushed again "and also my parents aren't home" he added, in a lower tone, your legs squirmed together, in a mixture of fear and excitement.
"Anyway, how was your week?" you shrugged "fine I guess, nothing really happened" "with your ex?" your breath hitched "he texted me a couple of times, but that was pretty much it" Remus stayed silent for a while, his veiny hands steady on the wheel, his slender fingers tapping lightly on it "did you answer?"
"No, I didn't" Remus exhaled, then smiled "he's such a jerk" he mumbled, you chuckled "yeah, tell me about it" Remus turned to look at you, you lowered your gaze, Remus grasped your chin, brushed a strand of hair behind your ear "stop covering behind your hair" you blushed, butterflies filling your stomach
His gaze went back to the road, his palm falling nonchalantly on your naked thigh. You immediately got goosebumps. Your heart rate increased. You started biting at your nails. You were only then realizing how much you missed that touch. Those cold hands.
As Remus continued driving he started caressing your skin, drawing patterns on it mindlessly. You held your breath as you squirmed your thighs together, already feeling your arousal pool into your panties. It was strange to be in the same place as him again, to feel his touch on you again, and god, how you had missed it.
You were so into your head you almost didn't realize you had arrived. Remus pulled into his driveway, he got out of the car and went to open your door, you smiled at him as he helped you out, your hands touched for a second. You could literally feel the electricity spark between the two of you.
His house was surprisingly clean and tidy, it smelled like air freshener. You looked around curious. "Yeah, my mom is a real cleaning freak" Remus said while taking off his shoes and jacket, you did the same. "Come, let's go to my room" You followed him upstairs.
Is room, unlike the rest of the house, was for sure exactly how you imagined it. Messy and undeniably his. There were books everywhere: on the floor, splayed on the desk, on his nightstand. The walls were decorated with posters of indie rock bands. There was a Persian carpet on the floor and a strong smell of incense, mixed with weed. His room smelled like him, and you liked it.
His bed was unmade, the navy sheets crumpled on it. "Uhm...yeah..sorry for the mess" he said tidying the comforter awkwardly. Remus sat on the carpet, so you did the same. You awkwardly sat in front of him, pulling your plaid skirt longer, trying to cover yourself. Remus looked at you smiling.
"Okay, let's smoke this bowl" he announced opening his closet. He pulled out a glass bong and some weed. You chuckled at the sight "wow, so classy" his bong was neon green and alien shaped "yeah...I didn't have the best taste in decor at fifteen" he chuckled before sitting back down, starting to align everything.
You watched him prepare the bowl. His hands were quick and precise, his movements effortless and skilled. He looked so damn hot when he did those things, his brows crouched in a focused expression, his slender fingers moving fast. He put the weed on the brazier, and he took a long hit.
You watched the smoke getting sucked in, from his mouth to his nose, and then out again, surrounding him in a thick white cloud. You felt the blood rush to your cheeks, you had forgot how hard it was to be in his presence, and how every movement of his hands, every twitch of his face made your legs weak.
He took another drag, and you watched him biting your lips. The room was already filling up with smoke, intoxicating you, making you light headed. You looked at him, and you felt the sudden impulse to kiss him. To skip all that small talk part and just go for it. You were shaking with anticipation and you couldn't bear the electricity in the room anymore. For once, you stopped thinking and you just went with it, listening to your body.
A rush went through your stomach as you grabbed his face and kissed him hard, eagerly. He chuckled on your lips, taken by surprise "you really was missing me huh" you bit his lower lip, teasing him. He moaned softly, you chuckled too "well, apparently I wasn't the only one". He smiled, the kiss quickly became sloppy and desperate.
Remus grabbed your waist, pressing his cold fingers into your skin, biting your neck, lowering you on the carpet under him. His body inclosed yours completely, pressing into you, your hips bucked into his, as he groped your thighs and wrapped them around him.
"So you missed me huh?" he teased, you whined, Remus snickered "I'll take that as a yes "when I read your text..." Remus kept whispering into your ear, his teeth grazing your lobe. "...I thought about you..." you wrapped your legs tighter, your core getting warmer.
"...All alone, in that bed of yours..." he whispered, his erection pressed to your core, grinding on it slowly "...thinking about me" you bit your lips. "What did you thought about, huh?" he whispered, brushing your hair out of your face "did you thought about the feeling of my fingers on your skin?" he caressed your thigh slowly, lightly, making you squirm.
"My finger near to your core?" his hand slid under your skirt, caressing your inner thigh "getting closer" he whispered, his fingers grazed your panties "and closer" he continued softly, as his index finger pulled your panties to the side, your breath caught in your throat.
His slender fingers grazed your folds, then slid through them, collecting your arousal, he smiled, his eyes were getting darker, wider. He licked his lips while grinning "oh baby" he kissed your temple "you're already so soaked for me" you whimpered, flustered. Remus pouted mocking you "poor baby" he said in a condescending tone "missed Rem so much".
You bit your lip, then palmed his bulge, you saw his smile getting fainter, his Adam's apple going up and down, "didn't Rem miss me tho?" you teased. Your hand got tighter, Remus closed his eyes shut, his mouth opening in a silent moan, "I did" he whispered with a shaky breath, you smiled. "I missed you so much" he repeated, grinding on your lap.
"I missed your perfume" you giggled as Remus kissed your neck, giving you the tingles "and your taste" he sucked the soft skin, biting it, leaving marks. "Matter of fact" his lips curved into that mischievous grin again "I wanted to show you how bad I missed your taste" he sat up, you tried doing the same "no, no baby stay back" he said softly, his open palm pressed on your lower stomach, your legs squirming together, slightly shaking.
Remus smiled again, his gaze softened, almost looking like a puppy for a second "here baby, take a hit of this" he said, passing the bong to you. He lit you an hit, you inhaled deeply, exhaled slowly. Your brain got immediately fuzzier, your legs weaker, your stomach warmer.
Remus lifted your shirt a little, trailing little kisses down your stomach, to the hem of your skirt, Remus looked at you, smiling again "I fear this is getting in the way" you bit your lips, your shaky fingers going to unbutton it. Remus helped you took it off, then started kissing your abdomen again.
You inhaled sharply when he kissed the inner of your thigh, sucking it softly. As Remus grazed the hem of your panties with his teeth, you immediately felt your heart skip a bit, you squirmed "wait, Rem" he stopped, looked at you "Is it okay?" you put your arm over your eyes, flustered and scared.
"Honey...what is it?" you shook your head "its just that-" you sighed "I'm so scared" you whispered, Remus grabbed your arm, removed It from your face and then kissed your temple again "don't be, I just want to show you how much I missed you" you closed your eyes "It'll feel so good baby I promise" you bit your lip "can I baby? can I make you feel good?"
You bit your lip again, then nodded. Remus grinned, he lowered your panties slowly, pulling them down your legs, moving your feet to take them off. You held your breath at the feeling of chill air on your suddenly exposed core, you tried to squirm your legs, your eyes closed shut.
"No baby, don't do that" said Remus massaging the inner of your thigh, caressing them in a reassuring way "don't be embarrassed" he kissed your cheek "you're hot as fuck, I promise" he whispered into your ear. His voice felt far, the smoke filling the room was getting to your head. Your legs finally fell open.
Remus smiled, and started kissing your skin slowly again, lower and lower, until he reached your inner thigh. You were slightly shaking "I missed you so much" he whispered before grabbing your thighs, spreading them open, and licking a stripe up to your core, sucking the clit lightly.
You immediately felt yourself melt, a loud moan escaped your lips, this time you knew you wouldn't been able to hold them back. It was too much already. Remus started licking deeper, sucking harder, and you started to lose your mind completely. "Mh" Remus groaned "you're so fucking soaked" you could feel the slick drip down your thighs, you shivered, Remus went deeper inside you.
Your head was spinning and the knot in your lower stomach was getting tighter and tighter, your skin covered in goosebumps. "You taste so good" he whined, you rolled your eyes back. "Take another hit for me baby, come on" you reached for the bong with shaky hands "you'll feel it so much more intensely" he said, lighting it up for you.
You took another hit, and when you laid down on that carpet you could actually feel like you were merging with it. You moaned loudly as Remus finger started drawing slow circles on your clit, and you were suddenly unable to form thoughts anymore.
"Rem- I- I won't be able to- to hold it in much longer" you mumbled, stuttering. Remus chuckled "of course you won't" his voice sent vibrations to your core, adding to the pleasure. Your fingers tightened around his curls, pulling them lightly. You bucked your hips onto him.
"Are you gonna come?" "mhm" you whined, unable to keep your eyes open. Remus squeezed your thighs tighter "you're gonna look at me know" you tried but your head felt so heavy, Remus stopped, your hips bucking into nothing. You whined. "You have to look at me baby" he repeated, his fingers pressing hard into your thighs.
You squinted, looking at him with half lidded eyes. He was so hot. His shaggy hair stuck on his forehead in sweaty chunks of ashy curls. His mouth and chin were slick with your arousal. His cheeks burning red. You sighed "oh baby, what is it?" he mumbled against your lips, kissing you.
You whimpered again "can't even keep your eyes open can you?" he pouted, caressing your cheek. "But you're gonna have to make a last little effort baby, okay?" you nodded, and looked at him going down on you. You were scared and embarrassed, but, oh, the vision of Remus eating you out was heavenly.
His eyes were the only visible thing, his forehead covered by his hair, his mouth deep into you. But those eyes. They were so big, his pupils so dark. Those eyes were unsettling, and so hot, surrounded by his dark circles. Those eyes were hungry, lustful, you wanted to drown into his pupils.
He smiled on you "cum for me baby, come on" you moaned, shaking harder. "Come on my face beautiful" he said, circling your clit sloppily with his thumb. That finally sent you over the edge, making you cum with a strangled scream, the coil in your stomach finally snapping. The sensation was so intense, you were shaking and squirming around Remus.
He grabbed your wrists, restraining your mobility, holding them tightly, and as the pleasure started to overwhelm you, you felt hot tears streaming from your eyes. Remus finally stopped, then, still slick with your arousal, he kissed you on the mouth, suffocating your sobs.
"You did so good for me baby" you whimpered at the praise, Remus took you into his arms "you tasted heavenly " he groaned kissing you "addictive" he mumbled. Your head was spinning, and you kept kissing him more, and more.
Remus helped you put your panties on again, and button your skirt up. As you finally came down from your high, Remus brushed your hair out of your face, fixed them, and dried your tears with his thumbs "oh baby" he repeated, pouting "so messy for me", you blushed.
You tried to return him the favor but he stopped you, "we're gonna miss the 12.00 class" you chuckled "I thought you were a bad boy" he grinned "I am...I showed you just know, didn't I?" you blushed again. He pressed his lips into yours, then he gave you the bong.
"C'mon, take this with you" he said "we're gonna smoke on the way" he winked at you, grabbing your hand and going downstair. You followed him, still shaky, your legs feeling like jello.
Remus opened the door for you, you smiled, as you sat with the bong in your lap "Skipping classes? smoking on the way to school? lupin...I'm starting to think you might be a bad influence". He snickered "oh, I definitely am"
His hand fell on your thigh again "but I know how to make you a shaking helpless mess everytime" he whispered to your ear, squeezing your thigh. You squirmed, your cheeks getting red, your lips closing shut, unable to respond. Remus started the car, holding back a smile while looking at the road.

Sometimes I don't think people know Rachel Amber was a Laura Palmer reference in the original game before it got into Deck Nines hands and that it's one of the big reasons I don't like Before the Storm
#Life is Strange#LIS#Watching Twin peaks honestly gave me a lot of appreciation for what they were doing with Rachel Amber#And the fact that you can have a fleshed out character and keep them shrouded in mystery at the same time#I felt like we weren't missing ANYTHING from never showing her#We knew exactly what we needed to know about her and nothing more#BtS made her no longer the 'laura palmer character'#Anyway I've been keeping most of my LIS sequel opinions on a private twitter and they will remain there but I really like LIS Rachel Amber#So I will yell about this one here#peach soup

Where did the party go? (batfam x neglected reader) This is part 2!! part 1

Your hands shake as you bring the water to your parched lips. The cold embrace of the liquid makes you sigh in satisfaction. The outfit you were wearing suddenly felt too tight and your makeup felt like a second face on top of your own.
This was the biggest moment of your life... so far. Compared to your siblings it wasn't that big but to you, it was everything. You can't think of them now though. Even the mental image of any of your so-called family made you feel bile climb up your throat.
You don't need them, or their validation. After everything that has happened you need to forget their harsh words and unforgiving cruelty.
----------------------------------
2 years earlier
The cold hallways recognised your presence as you walked through them. You feel like a zombie, knowing who you were but pulling your body away from your brain, your mind slowing down as every-time you take another step a part of your image dies.
Maybe you were dramatic, maybe you were immature, maybe if they actually cared you wouldn't be. Your hands shake as you grip a bannister. Where were you going again. You didn't even know. Eventually you came to the familiar scene of the kitchen.
The sink was filled with dishes, had they eaten dinner already? what time was it? You hadn't even realised. All you could think of was that mask, his mask. Your supposed brother. The empty eyes that he would stare at you with when he slowly cut your skin open.
You were about to leave, the thought of food in your body made you feel sick. When you saw him. He never showed you his face but you could recognise him anywhere. He could never hide from you. You could spot him out from a mile away, seek him out in a crowd easily.
His body was fire, and yours was gasoline and paper. He would ebb away at you until all that was left was ash. His pupils widened in recognition at you. "name...hi" You couldn't move, he would attack you, throw you against the wall. As he slowly reached towards your shoulder you winced.
Was this some kind of cruel joke?, did the universe hate you that much? "listen, I-I'm sorry, I wasn't in my right mind and-" your breath became shallow. "I guess I took it out on you" tears filled your eyes, this is it, he came back to kill you. "besides me and Bruce are trying to work things out so-" he took his hand off your shoulder and put it behind his head. He wasn't touching you, could you escape? "maybe we could be a real family-" You bolted, you couldn't stay still anymore, you ducked under his arm and ran past him. Back to your room back to safety.
Turns out Jason's presence was not in fact a joke. He became part of the family, Or maybe he always was. He would make inside jokes with Damian, learn sign language for cass (something you had done when you first met her, not that she noticed). He would even hang out with Tim and Stephanie two people who could not physically stand to be around you for more than five minutes. Maybe in some way you wanted his attention because maybe if you had his you could be part of that family.
It got worse the more Dick came round, his cheery aura meant the family would constantly be around each other. And you were not part of that family. They would have movie nights (without you), hang out at arcades (without you) and even spend Christmas together (they would always forget to buy you presents). Even Bruce went along with them for gods sake, were you really worth so little? Just because you weren't in spandex? You were so insignificant that Alfred just referred to you as 'miss' almost as if he had forgotten your name.
In these moments you would think back to times when your mother held you in her arms as you opened your presents, it was never anything expensive but you would cherish every one, no matter how much it cost. When she smiled her eyes would crinkle, you always wanted that, a life full of smiles and laughter. Yet for some reason you only got sadness.
-----------------------------------
Present day
When you asked a Wayne child what they wanted to be when they were older they normally answered with something artistic and niche like when Damian said he wanted to be an artist. Except you knew he would be even more insufferable if he was one so you thought he was better staying in the tights. Or Cass wanting to do ballet, not Cass you mentally scold Cassandra, when has she ever asked you to call her Cass.
You on the other hand wanted to make an impact, a small irreversible dent on the world (not literally). So now that you are 18 you study law. Is it difficult? yes, but weirdly rewarding. Getting out of Gotham made you realise how shitty that place really is. The air felt like it was choking you and the overall atmosphere felt heavy. Moving to Metropolis was like getting a weight lifted off your shoulders.
You were able to get a scholarship with a college you had great friends. You loved how bright it was all the time, and you weren't being kidnapped every other month, you were feeling amazing.
You had made a life for yourself, a somewhat stable, broke, happy life. What you didn't expect was for the family to remember you or even worse miss you...

yippee I made another one!!
there might only be one more chapter for this series because I'm on exam leave and I'm sick but thank you for all the support!! <3

Could you write something where Tess is jealous with how protective Joel is over you? Please and thank you 😊
thank you for this request. i hope you like it. have a great sunday, sweetie!
warnings: Tess is not nice to you, smuggling, talks of leaving QZ, Joel doesn't play much of a role in it
[my masterlist]
"Are you okay?"
You straightened up and adjusted the backpack that was weighing you down. "I'm fine." You mumbled.
A snort behind you made you turn around. Tess rolled her eyes. "She'll kill us eventually." she said.
"Really?" you replied. "That board would have collapsed under you too."
"I wouldn't have stepped on it."
"Right, your fucking sixth sense."
Tess opened her mouth to say something, but Joel raised a hand, silencing you both. You listened for a moment, but the building was quiet.
"We should go now." Joel finally spoke. "Let's go back. We have enough goods to trade."
You and Tess exchanged a quick glance, but neither of you said anything more. The tension between you was palpable. Tess had seemed irritated by your presence for a while now, and it was starting to tire you out. Like her and Joel, you were involved in smuggling and other work at Boston QZ. They needed someone to do a job, so you joined their team.
It wasn't immediately noticeable. It started with eye rolls, then verbal sarcasm. You felt like it happened every time you spoke to Joel or he made any kind of friendly gesture towards you.
Joel never mentioned whether there was anything more between him and Tess, and you hadn't tried anything more with him. It was just work. Yes, he was handsome, and you weren't used to anyone caring about you, even in the slightest. But that was Joel, wasn't it? He was grumpy and seemed distant from people. You could even say he didn't like people. But he tolerated you, unlike Tess.
It was late when you returned to QZ. It wasn't until the next day that you showed up at the apartment Tess and Joel shared. The woman was alone, but she watched with interest as you pulled more and more goods from your backpack. The loot had to be divided and exchanged for reasonable goods. Each of you wanted to gain something from it.
“Are you looking for a car battery?” you asked, sitting down at the table and watching Tess’s skillful hands sort through what you had brought.
She looked at you with curiosity and irritation. "Where did that idea come from?"
You shrugged. "Joel mentioned something." You replied and immediately noticed that the woman snorted. "I know someone who can help you."
She looked at you. "And you'll do it for free? Because you like me?"
You crossed your arms over your chest, ready for a verbal argument with her. “Do you want this or not? I don’t know why you’re so hard on me. I didn’t do anything to you.”
“Yes, Miss Perfect.” Tess snorted. “You don’t want anything in return because you expect him to be grateful.”
“Fuck!” you hissed. “Who would I want to please?”
“Joel, of course!”
Your mouth fell open in surprise. You were sure Tess was joking, but she was looking at you completely seriously. Your eyes went straight to the bedroom door. “He left,” Tess replied. “He had something to do.”
You leaned in towards her. “I don’t know what you’re implying, but me and Joel…”
“I know that.” Tess waved her hand. “But that doesn’t change the fact that it drives me crazy when I see the way he looks at you. Don’t tell me you haven’t noticed! He’s always more caring and protective of you.”
“When it comes to you, he’s also…”
“He’s changed since he met you. He’s a hard ass, but I’ve known him for a long time.” Tess plopped down in the chair across from you and pushed her hair out of her face. “I have nothing against you, you’re strong and smart. You saved my life too, so…” she sighed. “We want to get out of QZ. Joel has a brother he wants to find. You could be useful.”
You looked at her like you didn't believe her words. Just yesterday you were ready to throw yourself at each other, and now Tess was offering you an escape from Boston. Madness.
Finally, you spoke up. "I can help you with the battery."
“I’ll go there myself. Thanks,” she said. “And you? Will you come with us? Joel will definitely ask you. He wouldn’t want to leave you here.”
"We're just friends." you assured her again, but the corners of her mouth turned up.
"For now."
You wanted to say something, but the door opened and you noticed that Joel was back. You quickly stood up from your chair. “I have to go back.”
“You don’t have to,” Joel replied, looking uncertainly at Tess, as if she was the reason you wanted to leave this place quickly.
However, you had already thrown your bag over your shoulder and passed him.
“Thanks for everything!” Tess quickly called out to you. You nodded and a second later you were gone.
Joel stared at the closed door for a moment longer, then glanced at the woman sitting at the table. “Did you say something to her again? Do you have to be so fucking mean to her?”
“Your little bird found us a battery,” Tess said, and was pleased to see the change in Joel’s face. “If we can figure this out, we can get out of here.”
Joel nodded. Tess smiled, then stood up and began clearing the table. “You should talk to her. She could be useful to us outside of Boston. She’s good.”
“I know she is.” Joel swallowed. “But is she…”
“Fuck, Joel!” Tess groaned. “You’re a grown man. Just go to her and do it.”
He nodded and glanced at the door, as if he had expected you to come in. Tess was right, she always had been. You could be useful outside of Boston, and he couldn't imagine you being left here alone. Yes, he would talk to you. You would leave this place together.

STYLE
P. Bueckers x Fem!Reader
Summary: You had constant flings with Paige. When you two split up for college you never talked to her again. You visit a friend’s basketball game and this gives Paige a second chance to walk back into your life.
Genre: Fluff/Angst
Warning(s): 2025 UCONN team is still together and everyone is kinda the same age but younger?? Idk. + Nika, not a warning but reader attends Aburn University and majors in aerospace engineering, inaccurate aerospace engineering terms/related things. Suggestive perhaps. Reader has some mad skills even if she's kinda short sorry! (Sorry that the height isn't general), Reader is literally league material /j kinda.
WC: 2.5k
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4

"I fucking hate you." You say as you take a couple strides and plant your lips firmly on hers.
That night you took the time to catch up with Paige. You weren't going to let her in easily but it was nice to have the closure. You both agreed to start again but take a different approach on your relationship.
No more hookups. No more flings.
"So... aerospace engineering huh?" Paige asked, sipping on a glass of water.
"Yeah, I just didn't really know what I wanted to do but I knew I wanted to either do something with teaching or engineering. Looking into the future, educators don't get paid very well so I decided to look into engineering." You said.
You two were sitting on your small hotel couch, sitting on opposite ends. The distance felt weird but both of you were too afraid to say anything.
"What made you pick aerospace engineering?"
"I literally looked at potential engineering majors and I thought aerospace was a cool term. That's kinda it."
"You certainly are something."
You smiled and looked down at your phone. A text from Nika came through.
did paige resp 2 u yet??
yes and no
wym
she didnt respond but she showed up at my room
oh did u 2 fight again
we kinda did the opposite
ok stop getting freaky bro
im not
i lit wanted 2 make sure u were ok and ur telling me u two fucked was it like a hate sex situation
we did nhot fuck
oh
You smiled and closed your phone. Paige's lips frowned, she wasn't sure why she was feeling a certain way. The way that made her stomach churn. She knew she had no right to be jealous, it was all too fast to return to the way you two were. Paige couldn't help it though, the way that she didn't want to wait to get back to the closeness you once had.
"What?" She asked nonchalantly.
"Nothing." You smiled and looked at her.
"Alright." She looked down.
"Uh were you planning on staying long? Cause if you were we can order take out. Or i can cook whatever you prefer."
She wanted to, wanted to catch up and whatever. But it felt like an intrusion, perhaps too early to stay so long. That's what the old Paige had the privilege to do.
"Nah, I should get going. Thanks though." She stood up.
"Oh, alright. I'll walk you out."
It was a short distance from the couch to the door and it hurt both of you.
"Thanks for coming."
"Thanks for hearing me out." Paige turned to look at you.
You two stood there kind of awkwardly before she leaned forward and pressed a soft kiss to your forehead. Your eyes fluttered shut for a moment, your shoulders dropping at the relaxing gesture.
"Goodnight, Auburn."
"You know my name you know, UCONN. But goodnight."
You both smiled and Paige opened the door. She walked out into the hallway and continued to the elevators. You shut the door behind her and let out a deep sigh.
Sure you missed her and you were super happy that you two could start over. But you were worried that even though you had agreed to go slow, you wouldn't be patient enough to get back to her.
You knew the old Paige was gone, she had grown and matured. She's changed and so have you.
You take your phone out of your pocket and order DoorDash. You were in the mood for something simple so you ordered your food and texted Nika.
u busy
no why paige is back btw
ik she left
really wouldnt have guessed

You heart her message and hear a knock on the door. Opening it, a DoorDash delivery person stands in front of you. Swiftly, you take your food and give a tip before shutting the door.
You almost moan at the smell and rip it open, digging into your food. It was nice being somewhere away from home or school but you did miss both of those.
Bringing the food over, you turn on the tv and surf until you land on some crappy home reality show. Your phone pings again and its another text from Nika. This time it's a link to an article.
Paige Bueckers and Her Hotel Sweetheart
That was the headline. You scroll a bit skimming through the article. Apparently someone caught a picture of Paige coming into your hotel room and the person somehow knew it wasn't her own room.
Paige's contact photo popped up on the banner.
u saw the article? sry i thought no one was around
its ok idm
itll simmer down trust
ok
You didn't give her much to work with, you didn't really care if they thought you two were something. Because the important thing was that the people closest to you knew the truth.
Finishing your dinner you decide to get ready for bed. Putting on your favourite playlist and doing all your nightly activities before crawling into the semi-soft sheets.
You didn't really bother scrolling on your phone like you normally do when you're winding down. Too tired from today's activities, so you plug in your phone and turn off the nearby lamp.
The next morning, the early light attempted to peek through the blackout curtains. Naturally waking up you sit up and yawn. Sleep fatigue had caught you for a brief moment and you stood up carefully, padding over to open the curtain.
You smiled. The scenery was breath taking. The stunning grey pavement loaded with a bunch of colourful cars. The fucking parking lot was your view.
You grab your phone and open it seeing a few notifications but nothing important. Today you decided you were going to take up Nika's offer and join them at the facility.
im acc gonna join u
ok meet me there in half
ok
You got ready for the day, pulling your hair back into your signature ponytail with a tiny braid tied into it.
You didn't pack a bunch of athletic clothing but you did pack a pair of shorts and a thin tee. It wasn't the most flattering fit you've ever worn but you make do.
You called for an uber and waited out in the lobby until then.
A sleek black SUV pulled up and you got in the backseat. You knew never to sit in the front unless absolutely necessary. You treated the front seat as only being taken if you're close to the driver. Which you're not so you opt for the back.
"Hi." The driver says as they wait for you to buckle up.
"Hey, the UCONN training facility."
They nod and start driving.
You get there a bit before the time and see Nika just pulling up.
"Hey Nika."
"Hey, ready to go?" She asked, her hair tied back.
"Yeah, sorry I didn't really pack anything athletic."
"Oh well you can borrow an extra jersey if you'd like." She says in her own jersey. Usually they don't wear them if its not game day or practice but the flexibility of the jersey created a way for fast paced movement and lightness.
"Oh, if you have an extra one that would be good."
"Sure, come on." She scanned her ID and held the door for you.
"Thanks."
She led you to the court and to the locker room. It was empty, the faint humming of the building's machinery sending soft soundwaves to your ears.
"Uh, I'm sure there's one around here." Nika put her stuff down and searched until she grabbed a white piece of fabric.
"It might be a bit big but it'll do for now. We can even match!" She smiled.
"Don't all jerseys match?"
"I mean yeah but it'll be like you're officially on the team."
"I don't know if I deserve to wear it then, I'm not very good."
"Oh shush, I'm sure you're being very modest."
You slip off your shirt showing off your black Nike sports bra and slip the jersey on. It was light and flexible just how you thought it would be.
"You know, back in high school I had a crush on this one girl who had a number 5 jersey." You smirked a bit showing Nika how the jersey was literally double your size.
"Was it Paige?"
Your smile faltered.
"No actually."
Nika gave you a surprised look but she didn't buy it.
"Huh, didn't know you were capable of loving." She joked.
You lightly hit her. You were unaware of who's jersey you were wearing, the name shown off on the back. The blue lettering bold, UCONN 5 on the very front.
Nika smirked when she saw who's jersey she had fished out. She opted to not say anything and led you to the court. No one had arrived yet and Nika said it was just cause she wanted to have some fun with you before the others did.
"Alright you know how to properly use a basketball right?" She said tossing you one.
"Yeah, P taught me."
"Oh, we're back to calling her P, huh?" Nika smiled.
"Shut up. Paige taught me."
You dribbled a bit before bending a bit, feeling the rhythm of the ball. Tossing the ball towards the net, your wrist bent for an accurate follow through, the ball goes into the net with a slight whoosh. You made a basket from the free throw line.
"Damn, usually people who don't play don't really get a basket on their first go."
"This isn't my first time playing, thought P said that."
"I meant in a while."
You smiled and passed her the ball. She made an easy basket again from the free throw line. You two played a bit with the ball until the doors open and a few of Nika's team comes in, in their jerseys.
"Nika, hey!" Azzi calls.
You both greet the girls and Kaitlyn smirks. Her eyes crinkle at the corner.
"You look official in that jersey."
"Nika lent it for today."
"You sure it was Nika?" She hinted looking at the back lettering.
You give her a confused look and Nika ushers them into the locker room.
"What was that about?" You asked making another basket.
"Dunno." She smiled.
"You're a terrible liar."
"Just, you'll see." She catches the ball from you.
The girls come out and you all start playing a bit of actual basketball, they went easy on you and you appreciate it. They took this time to work on actual casual fun instead of perfecting every little mistake and pushing themselves to be perfect.
Finally, a 6'0 familiar girl turns up.
"Sorry I'm late." She says, not looking up from her phone.
"There she is!" KK runs over and tackles Paige.
You laugh at the two before looking over at Nika. She's giving you a knowing look and you shake your head. It wasn't awkward that she was here, no. You were actually kind of happy. You missed being around Paige and playing basketball with her like the old days.
KK eventually got off Paige and she looked at her team. Her eyes land on your figure, your back was turned to her but she could spot you in a crowd if she had to.
You got that James Dean daydream look in your eye.
Your figure had caught her off guard sure, but ironically the guard had caught something bigger. The large BUECKERS in blue had stood out the most. Where had you gotten her jersey?
"You're staring." Sarah said nonchalantly.
Paige turned to her. "Where'd she get that?"
"Nika said she fished it out and lent it to her for the day. You got a problem with it?" She smiled, knowingly.
"Uh, no." Paige mumbled.
She watched as you talked, your lips moving as every syllable escaped from your mouth.
And I got that red lip classic thing that you like.
Finally, you noticed her and walked up to her.
"Hey P."
She smiled at the nickname. Sure her friends, family called her the simple name but it was oddly different when you said it. It was like a secret only you two had but unfortunately it was pretty public.
"Hey, Auburn."
"Are you just going to call me that from now on? I have a name."
"Your university is fun to say what about it?"
"It's like you're allergic to using my name." You joke.
"I'm not, it's just more fun."
"Okay, I'll use your name to show you it's not scary to use someone's name."
"Alright."
"Paige Bueckers."
"Auburn."
You shook your head and hit her shoulder.
"Lovebirds, we have a game." Ice called.
You turn to look at her and smile. Looking down you avoided Paige so she couldn't see the blush that painted your cheeks.
"Your jersey looks good." She said promptly.
"Thanks, Nika lent it to me, and look! It's your old high school number." You smiled.
You remembered. Paige had thought it was sweet you still remembered her number.
"Yeah, carried it to college too."
You pause.
"Huh?"
"The 5? It's still my number."
And when we go crashing down, we come back every time.
Your words get caught in your throat. You spin around to try and get a look at the name at the back and sure enough you catch the last few letters of Paige's last name. You look up and see Nika beaming at you.
You send her a glare her way and silently curse her out.
"I am so sorry. I can take it off if it's yours. I didn't know Nika gave me your jersey."
"It's alright, I already have mine on and plus it looks better on you anyways." She smiles and you smile back.
It takes you back to the days where you wore her jersey for high school matches and wore her apparel casually around the school. Everyone knew you two were basically best friends who were in denial but no one really said anything.
"Guys, come on." Kaitlyn whined.
You shake your head and head back onto the court. Paige headed into the locker room for a brief moment and then joined your guys' game. Her position filled, doing what she did best.
You had a lot of fun and especially had the most fun with Paige. Unbeknownst to you and the girls, the school's media team had come in and snapped a few shots of the team, you being in the shots as well.
You wouldn't have known it then but the amount of headlines and speculations that would stir from a few pictures would cause your whole world to flip.
'Cause we never go out of style. We never go out of style.

{bad idea... right? - kuroo t.}
yes I know that he’s my ex, but can’t two people reconnect?//…I just tripped and fell into his bed.
kuroo x fem!reader smut. exes to lovers. 18+ MDNI please.
in which you and your ex "reconnect" after almost half a year apart, but with so many unresolved feelings, it'll either end up being the best or worst idea you've ever had.
warnings: fem!reader, no physical description (aside from specific genitalia ofc). university setting. smut, mentions of alcohol/getting drunk but no drunk sex, lots of feelings/kinda mutual pining. praise kink, a little bit of voice kink, very brief jealous reader, cunnilingus, body worship, teasing, lots of pet names in lieu of y/n, soft dom!kuroo and sub!reader, very. very. soft, kinda emotional sex, aftercare and fluff towards the end. porn with a bit of plot/build up. this fic is my baby.
a trope I never thought I'd write plus a genre I've never written before? apparently so. it's my first time writing smut, so constructive criticism is welcomed, being rude is not. can you believe I started this over the summer ‘23 and I'm only posting it now?
and lmk if I need to add anything else to the warnings :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
this truly had the potential to be one of your worst ideas yet.
you weren't even going to be at this damn party to begin with, but your friend finally convinced you to go with her after a week of wearing you down.
"it'll be fun, c'mon!" she begged.
the only reason you didn't want to go was because you were finally done with your first semester of classes and wanted to wind down in peace, not at a crowded house party filled with loud music and sweaty drunk university students.
but of course you relented when she pulled out the puppy dog eyes and played the "but we haven't hung out in months, I miss you!" card.
so there you were by the snacks and refreshments table, dressed up and nursing a drink, talking and laughing with your friends. truthfully, you were having a better time than you thought you would and figured that you had almost a month before classes started back up again to relax.
"soooo? has anyone caught your eye yet?" multiple faces focused their attention on you.
you knew part of the reason your friend had insisted on you going with her was to help you meet someone. she'd never admit it, but it was pretty obvious with the way she was pointing out people left and right, making note of how attractive they were. at one point she had even "accidentally" pushed you into one of her targets, which had made for some very awkward small-talk on your end with someone you had zero interest in and some giggling from her.
it's not that you were opposed to the idea of finding someone, but in all honesty, no one had caught your eye. recently you had gotten out of a long long term relationship, and starting over after that just seemed so... unappealing to you.
it also seemed unfair to start anything new when you were very much not over him. breaking up in the middle of the semester had made it really easy for you to push down any emotions and throw yourself into your studies. but it didn't change the fact that you missed him. even now, the party acted as a good distraction for you.
or so you thought.
you were about to respond when your phone buzzed. you looked down and your heart leapt into your throat when you saw the contact name.
it felt strange seeing it as "kuroo" rather than some version of his given name or a pet name. once you hit the one minute mark of just staring at the text notification in shock, your friend peeked over your shoulder and gasped a little.
"you didn't block him?!"
you snatched your phone out of her hand after she stole it to show your group of friends.
"why would I? it's not like we hate each other."
and it was true- you both ended amicably (though very reluctantly). you only ever wanted the best for each other, and while it was sad, you realized that at this point in your lives with how busy you both were, you weren't able to offer that anymore.
you’d rather this than end things resenting each other.
still, it was a hard pill to swallow, so for now you were just holding it on your tongue, letting the bitter taste of the coating settle instead.
she frowned. "well yeah, but-"
you cut her off before she could bring up the very emotions you were ignoring in that moment and shoved your phone back in your pocket. "c'mon, let's go dance!"
later, though, when you excused yourself to the bathroom, the first thing you did was down your second drink and read the text.
hey.
do you want to come over?
you stared at the messages for another minute, reading and re-reading them over and over again before sighing. being with him for years meant you knew him like the back of your hand, and he wasn't one for casual hook ups or one night stands. you hadn't even heard from him in a few months- this was the first bit of contact you'd had with him since you cleaned out your drawer of clothes at his place.
which meant he was either drunk and missing you or someone was playing a prank and you'd just end up a fool.
seriously weighing the options in front of you, trying not to let your emotions overpower your decision making, you attempted to think about the long term consequences of going over.
no matter how you spun it, it sounded like a bad idea. even if he did send the texts, there was no guarantee he wanted anything out of it.
but you were too tipsy for logic at that point in the night, and if you were being honest with yourself, you were in need of some excitement.
yeah.
I'll send my new address.
wait, he moved?
despite being together for so long, the two of you never ended up living together, opting for dorms and student houses with friends. still, you did spend a lot of time at his old place, and before the breakup you had even talked about the possibility of moving in together after the current school year was done.
you didn't linger on the sour feelings that brought up and instead decided to let your friends know you were leaving. when they asked where you were going, you spun some lie about not feeling well and wanting to head home before you got worse. you didn't really care if they believed you or not.
checking the address he had sent you once more, you made your way out of the house and were pleasantly surprised to realize it wasn't that far of a walk, especially since you were wearing uncomfortable party shoes.
you sipped on the bottle of water you swiped form the refreshment table and tried to sober up a bit more before seeing him. you weren't a hundred percent sure what would happen once you got there, but it was a good idea to be prepared for anything.
eventually you made it up to his apartment, which was in another student housing building off campus, bigger than his old place, and took a moment to compose yourself.
there was still time to turn back and make an excuse for why you bailed.
there was still time to think it through.
there was still time to save yourself from the possibility of more pain.
you took a deep breath and knocked on the door anyway.
not even five seconds later, the door was opening and you were face to face with your ex boyfriend.
you took him in for the first time in months- really took him in. sure, you'd seen his instagram posts since breaking up, but you could only zoom in so far on those. and fine, maybe your friends had tried to set you up with people they had deemed "much hotter", but you never saw the appeal. you couldn't even remember any of their faces in that moment, because kuroo was right there.
his hair was the same as always, slightly messier than usual, exactly how it looked whenever he (or you) would run his hands through it on a particularly stressful day.
had he been stressed about the text? did he regret it?
he was dressed somewhat casually, in a dark red shirt you recognized as part of a birthday gift you gave him one year (you had always liked the colour red on him). he was wearing black sweatpants and his socks were mismatched.
everything about him was familiar, and you hated the way a feeling of ease settled over you when he finished his own analysis of you and gave a boyish, almost giddy grin. "hi."
his voice was warm and gave you butterflies. there was an undertone of excitement in his greeting and it quelled your worries about him regretting the texts.
you decided to smile back, though somewhat shyly (which you inwardly scolded yourself for), and spoke up. "hi."
he didn't let the silence that followed settle into awkwardness. he opened the door a bit wider, and welcomed you in. ever the gentleman, he took your coat and and helped you balance as you took your shoes off. you tried to ignore how warm and gentle his touch was, how it made you immediately crave more.
you made your way into the living room and took everything in. there were empty cans and shot glasses littered across the room, mostly concentrated on the coffee table. you thought you heard him swear under his breath when he looked at the mess as well.
"did you have a party?" you asked, now close enough to smell a bit of alcohol on him.
he shook his head and looked a bit embarrassed. "ah, no..." he rubbed a hand over the back of his neck and sighed. "my roommates went out with some friends tonight and decided to pre-game here. I went back to my room before they left because I didn't feel like drinking too much and assumed they'd clean up a bit..."
you nodded in understanding. "wishful thinking, huh?"
he chuckled. "yeah, guess so," he said, then gestured to an empty spot on the couch. "sit, I'll just get some of this out of the way quickly."
"oh, I can help-" you tried to offer but he waved you off.
"don't worry about it. I'm the one who invited you into a sloppy apartment, you shouldn't have to clean up a mess that isn't yours."
you snorted and watched as he shoved a ton of cans into the decorative waste bin by the sofa and took some glasses to the sink in the kitchen. "says the one who's cleaning up a mess that isn't his."
you heard him laugh at your words and the butterflies erupted in your stomach again. you hadn't realized how much you missed that sound. suddenly your mind wandered back to the reason behind his invitation. you'd be alone tonight?
once he returned from the kitchen and sat down next to you, you talked for a bit. he caught you up on the moving situation (him and a few friends found an opening for the second semester, so they decided to jump on it and try to stay until grad, hopefully. he made a joke about trying to make friends with the landlord). you listened closely, trying not to make it obvious you were hanging off his every word.
when he was done, you caught him up on your life and how you were at a party when he texted. he apologized for interrupting and you told him a little too fast not to be, which he seemed pleased with.
after a while, he asked if you wanted to watch a movie. you agreed, though you were starting to get impatient. you knew he wasn't the type of guy to ever expect anything from anyone, but the curiosity was eating you alive. you couldn't help but finally ask him about it halfway through the movie.
"hey... why did you invite me tonight?"
he didn't seem surprised by your question, which told you he was probably expecting it. (it was silly of you to think he couldn't tell when something was on your mind after years together and only months apart.)
he took a deep breath in and looked down at his lap. while he didn't look outwardly nervous, you knew him well enough to know what his tells were. he picked at a thread on his pants, trying to compose himself before dropping the bomb.
"because I missed you." he looked you in the eye and then continued. "a lot. and you can take that however you'd like. I'll let you decide."
you blinked at him. he'd let you decide? the way he said it implied that he missed you, missed you. not just missed having you in his life, not just as a friend- he missed you.
you would be nothing but a liar if you said you hadn't missed him too. and you knew that the feeling of security and familiarity you experienced earlier wasn't just nostalgia or your own unresolved feelings. if that were the case, you wouldn't be feeling this comfortable on the couch with him. you wouldn't be able to pretend things were normal between you as easily as you had been all night.
kuroo still very much felt like home, and you didn't want to let him go ever again. there was only one way for you to take his declaration.
"can I..." you looked into his eyes and tried not to drown in them. "can I kiss you?"
he looked relieved at your words and eagerly nodded. "please."
you leaned forward and feverishly crashed your lips against his as soon as the word left his mouth. he raised one hand to cup your cheek and pulled you closer to him by your thigh with the other, not once breaking away from you.
soon you were straddling his lap and wrapping your arms around his neck, quiet noises releasing into the air around you both. you moved a hand up the back of his neck, into his hair, and he groaned slightly into your mouth.
you giggled into the kiss, happy to see you still knew what got him going.
as if either of you could forget- it was muscle memory at that point. just like you'd never forget how to ride a bike, you'd never forget how to make the other feel good.
eventually you both had to pull away and fill your lungs again, but you were close enough that your foreheads touched and your breaths mixed.
it was quiet aside from some light panting, so you decided to break that silence with a confession of your own. "I missed you too, tetsurou. so much."
now, you weren't sure if it was what you said or how you said it, but as soon as the words left your mouth, you felt something hard pressing against the area between your legs and gasped a little.
your eyes opened and you pulled your face away just enough to look at him properly. your eyes met his and his face was tinged pink. "I- I'm sorry... we don't... if you don't want to..." he mumbled, not sure how to gage your reaction to this sudden development.
you kissed him again, softer this time to reassure him, and smiled a bit when you pulled away. "I want to, tetsu."
he let out a relieved sigh and smiled at you in turn, then glanced over at the door. "I have no idea when they'll be back... do you want to continue this in my room?" his eyes slowly and hopefully made their way back to yours.
you nodded and squealed a bit when he suddenly scooped you up in his arms, smile growing wider as he made his way to his bedroom.
and that’s how you got here- cutting to when he gently sets you down on the bed, and you scoot back a bit to lay down comfortably. quickly following, his body covers yours and he begins kissing you again.
your arms instinctively move, one wrapping around his broad shoulders, the other cupping his cheek as you move your lips against his. his own hands, now free due to the fact that he’s propped up on one of his forearms, caress your waist and the the top of your head respectively.
after a few minutes of him focusing on your lips, he starts making his way down your neck. they’re feather light kisses at first to make you giggle, but eventually he finds the sensitive spot he always loved to mark up and the sweet sounds turn into shallow, shuddery breaths.
you whine as soon as he starts sucking on it and you bring your hand up from his cheek to his hair. "mmn... tetsu..."
he pulls away just enough so that you can still feel his lips against your flesh as he trails them up your neck to hover just over your ear. "you have no idea," he breathes out, voice low and far more erotic than you think he intended, "how much I've missed this."
you shudder and turn your face away at the tingly sensation, but the hand on your waist darts up to tilt your chin back in his direction. one thing you always appreciated about kuroo was how tenderly he handled you, no matter the tone of your late night endeavors. he was always gentle with you- not in a way that made you feel fragile, but rather in a way that told you he truly cared for you, treasured you, adored you.
the idea that this is still the case turns you on even more and makes your brain go a bit fuzzy.
when your eyes met his once more, you could see that adoration pooling in them. “look at me, sweetheart.”
you nodd slightly in his firm, yet still very soft grasp and keep your eyes trained on his. you could feel yourself getting wet as they trail over your face, and you swear your entire body feels warm as he gives you a rare type of smile only reserved for times like these.
he leans in to kiss you again and his hand moves from your face to toy with the lower hem of your dress. “you look absolutely gorgeous in this, baby, but do you think can we take it off?” he’s still speaking in the low, sultry tone that always drives you wild- you’re certain that you’d do anything he asked of you with that voice.
you sit up a little and move to unzip the dress, but he takes your hands and gives you a look. “ah ah- let me, pretty girl, you don’t have to move a muscle.”
it’s almost jarring how easily you both fall back into it. as soon as your dress is off, his shirt follows and he’s back to hovering over you. it really feels as though no time has passed since your last time with him.
just more proof that this is right.
he wastes no time in ridding you of your bra and himself of his shirt before pushing you back down onto the bed.
the room is once again filled with sounds of soft moans and gasps as he kisses your chest and takes one of your nipples into his mouth. he alternates between swirling his tongue around it and sucking. kuroo didn’t let your other breast go unattended for long, though, as he begins teasing the hardened bud with his fingers.
“aah, tetsu… please…” you gasped out.
the man on top of you chuckles, and in between switching sides he looks at you from under his eyelashes. “still so sensitive, hm? it’s cute.”
you resist the urge to hide your face and instead opt for throwing your head back when he suddenly sucks on the other nipple.
heat continues to build inside of you until he eventually he trails his kisses down the valley of your breasts, across your ribcage and down to your tummy. he spends a little extra time there, and you have to gently tug on his hair and whine about him taking too long for him to break away from your skin.
“let me worship you, angel. missed your body so much.” his voice is barely audible, the words murmured as though he was in a trance. you feel your pussy clench around nothing at his confession and bite back a whimper.
his lips curl upwards while pressed against your stomach and his eyes flicker up to meet yours. “keep your eyes on me, baby. don’t ever want to be away from you again,” he commands.
he rests his chin on your pubic bone and traces the elastic band of your panties with two familiar fingers. “you wore my favourite.”
heat rushes to your face and you do turn away this time, but he makes a disapproving noise you’re all too familiar with. “sweetheart, what did I just tell you?”
you bite your lip and force your eyes back to his.
he rewards you with a tender kiss to your belly and a “there’s a good girl, knew she was in there…” before he pulls your panties off.
you grow nervous, though you know you don’t need to be with him, and close your legs. his eyes soften significantly at the action. you're not sure why exactly the nerves get to you now of all times, especially considering how much you like his stricter side, but they do and he sees it.
he drops the strict act and rubs reassuring circles to your inner thigh. you've always preferred your softer sessions, anyway. “hey, it’s alright. I’m gonna take good care of you… missed my girl so much, just want to make you feel good, okay? we’ll save that for another time. it’s just you and me now, baby.”
you nod and a wave of calm washes over you at the reassurance. you let him pry your legs apart and gasp as he dives in.
he starts with wet kisses working their way up your thighs, to your slit and then up to your clit before he takes the bud into his mouth and sucks on it. you let out a soft moan and buck your hips into his face.
"mmn," he pulls away for a second and holds your hips down. "don't thrash, princess, just let me do all the work."
and he does. once he really gets into the groove of eating you out, you're a mess on his bed- legs shaking over his shoulders, cunt clenching around his tongue and whimpering out little thank you's when he makes you cum for the first time that night.
but he doesn't stop there. "tastes so good, baby, need more," he says in between licking your juices from your folds. "c’mon, just one more. you can do it," he picks up the pace again, and before you know it you're begging for more, too.
"tetsu- ah~!" you moan when he exchanges licking for sucking on your still sensitive clit again. you feel like you're on fire as he draws you closer and closer to reaching your second high.
you tangle your hands in his hair and he groans, sending vibrations throughout your core. you cry out and arch off the bed, spilling into his mouth.
this time when he pulls away, he slithers back up your body and kisses you. "see how good you taste, baby? best in the world, haven't I always told you that?"
your stomach twists from the praise and you turn your head to the side bashfully, trying to stabilize your breathing. he holds himself up above you and strokes your cheek with his knuckles, watching you fondly. it does nothing but make you more dizzy with affection.
when you've calmed down enough, he whispers "do you still want to-"
"yes." you cut him off and he chuckles.
"okay baby," he crawls off of you and reaches for his nightstand. he opens the drawer and-
your stomach sinks when you see an open box of condoms. the thought of him being with other girls makes you feel green with envy which you suppose isn’t fair considering you’ve been broken up for months, but you’re still a little fuzzy and too high on your own emotions right now to care.
he looks between you and the box and immediately catches on when an unexpected tear falls from your eye.
“oh, baby no-“ he takes one from the box and quickly returns to your side. “I haven’t been using these,” he cups your face and strokes his thumb under your eye.
“you haven’t?” you sniffle and he shakes his head right away.
you pout. “but then-”
kuroo cuts you off with a roll of his eyes. “one of my roommates got them for me as a joke for my birthday. I only opened them because he kept asking to borrow them.”
you digest his words and slowly look up at him. he’s already looking at you and you can’t keep your eyes from watering some more. the thought of him being intimate with someone new when you’ve spent the past few months rejecting everyone your friends forced your way.
“I haven’t even looked at anyone else since we broke up,” he murmurs against your hairline. “missed you too much.”
you nod, finding no traces of dishonesty on his features. “I haven’t been with anyone either… I wasn’t over you. I didn’t want to be,” you admit, voice soft.
he smiles and presses kisses from your scalp down to your cheeks. “such a sweet girl I have, hm? how about you help me out here?”
he tugs off his sweats and your attention is drawn to the tent his boxers. you bite your lip and reach for the band but he takes your hand and places the condom on your palm.
you blink up at him, confused. “you don’t want me to-“
he shakes his head and tugs his boxers down. his cock springs free and you gasp a little at the sight of his tip- red and smeared with pre-cum.
“no, angel, I need to be inside of you. just help me put it on.”
you make quick work of tearing the wrapper off and rolling the condom over his length. he groans at the feeling of your knuckles grazing his skin, but as soon as you pull away he’s flipping you on your back and lining himself up against your entrance.
he knocks his forehead against yours. “ready, baby?”
you nod and wrap your arms around his neck to pull him closer. he leans down for a kiss and slowly pushes into you as your lips connect.
you whine a little at the stretch and he pauses everything. “you’re okay,” he reassures you, giving you time to adjust.
you nod when you feel ready for him to keep going and he bottoms out with a strangled moan. “you’re unreal, you know that?”
his praise pulls a giggle from your throat but it quickly turns into a breathy sigh when he starts moving.
he starts off slow, but soon enough you’re both lost in the moment and his pace picks up. within the next few minutes, his room is filled with sounds of pleasure and sweet words exchanged between lovers.
“you’re perfect,” he says, angling his lips closer to your ear. his hips stutter when you clamp around him at his words.
his thrusts reach deep enough to get you crying out for him. “tetsu, faster! please!”
“ah- there’s a good girl, love hearing you beg for more.” he nibbles the spot just below your ear, soothing it with his tongue.
“I love you,” you whimper, nails digging into his shoulders.
kuroo groans at the sensation and goes a bit harder. “you needed this just as bad as I did, hm? it’s okay, I’ve got you now, pretty girl. just relax.”
you hide your face in his neck and try to stifle your moans, but he doesn’t appreciate that one bit. “stop that, let me hear you,” he commands and you immediately pull your head back.
he grins down at you and kisses your nose. “sound so pretty when you’re falling apart on my cock, you know better than to hide those noises from me.”
you nod and find yourself unable to look away from his face, as if you were in a trance. he’s absolutely gorgeous on top of you- why would you want to look away?
“you close, baby?” he asks after your walls tighten even more.
“mmhm,” you whimper and lean up for a kiss.
“me too,” he whispers and tugs one of your hands away from his shoulder. he intertwines your fingers and presses is above your head against the pillow. “needed this just as badly as I did, hm? it’s okay, I’ve got you, baby.”
doing so good for me.
you’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.
you feel so fucking good, princess.
all of his praise sent shockwaves throughout your body and soon enough you’re tipping over the edge. your back is arched, head thrown back and a loud cry of his name is drawn from you as you cum for the second time.
he follows soon after and you feel his whole body shudder when he spills into his condom.
your breaths mix together as you both come down from your highs. it’s quiet for a few moments before he carefully pulls out and disposes of the soiled contraceptive in the trash next to his bed. he rolls back into bed, facing you.
he strokes your cheek with his knuckles and smiles at you when you open your eyes and turn to face him as well. “hi pretty girl, you okay?”
you take a deep breath and curl into his chest. you still feel slightly too light and any thoughts not related to him are muddled. you’re overcome with an intense wave of affection for him.
he must notice, because when you manage to peek up at him again, he snorts. “yeah, I don’t know what I was expecting.”
he knows better than to try and leave the bed right away (memories of you whining and clinging to him when he did attempt it early on in your relationship flash through his mind and he smiles), so instead he wraps his arms around you and presses kisses to your hairline.
you savour the familiar feeling of being wrapped in his arms and nuzzle into his bare chest. the most comfortable feeling in the world.
eventually he does get up to grab a damp cloth and some water, and he informs you that you can use his bathroom for whatever you need.
you’re both following the same routine you had when you were together as if you hadn’t broken up at all.
now that you’ve regained some clarity, you start to worry about what exactly that means.
you’ve both admitted to missing each other like crazy, but you assume you’ll need to have a serious conversation with kuroo about whether or not you should get back together.
you ponder over this on his bed for a bit longer before he interrupts your thoughts. “we don’t have to talk about it right now,” he starts. “we can talk about it tomorrow morning if you would prefer, but…”
he pauses like he’s not sure if he should continue. you nod encouragingly, curious as to where this is going (thought you think you know). “but I meant absolutely everything I said tonight. um, before and while we were… uh. busy.”
you giggle a little at his shy demeanour before considering the weight of his words. “we could talk about it tomorrow morning, but I think we both already know what we want from this right?”
he doesn’t need to nod, but he does anyway. “I definitely have an answer already.”
you knock your forehead against his. “so… are we officially back together then?”
he offers you the widest grin he’s thrown your way all night. “I think we are, sweetheart. We’ll make it work this time, I promise.”
“I promise,” you repeat.
the rest of the night is spent cuddling under covers, sharing kisses and secrets you’ve missed out on sharing these past few months.
“I love you,” you say, before you finally drift off for the night.
you don’t hear him, but he’s quick to return the sentiment. “I love you too.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BONUS:
the following morning, you wake up to your phone ringing. you groan when you see it’s your friend and realize you never texted her back last night to tell her you’re okay.
you look over at kuroo, still sound asleep beside you, and answer as quietly as possible. “hello?”
“oh thank goodness you’re alright, why weren’t you picking up? we all called you a million times!”
you check and see a ton of missed calls from more of your friends who saw you leave the party last night. “I’m sorry, I was asleep,” you say sincerely, only twisting the truth a little bit.
you feel slightly bad about it, you mentally promise her to tell her everything later.
before she can respond, your boyfriend sits up (when did he even wake up?) and says into the phone, “sorry, it’s my fault. but I promise I took good care of her,” he smirks at you.
you flinch when she shrieks into your ear. “YOU WERE WITH KUROO?!”
glaring at him, he snickers and takes the phone from you. “she’ll call you back later, we’re still catching up.”
“no, wait-“ he hangs up the phone and tosses it onto his sheets.
you pout at him. “tetsu, c’mon.”
he kisses your cheek. “I really didn’t meant for it to come off as rude, I swear. I just wanted a relaxing morning with you before you have to leave.”
you sigh and fall back into the soft comfort of his pillows. “it’s okay,” you say. “I really didn’t feel like giving her the rundown first thing in the morning, anyway. you really tired me out last night,” you peer up at him.
he laughs. “oh really? we’ve gotta build up your stamina again, pretty girl. I wasn’t lying-“ he crawls over and hovers a few inches above you. “we still have a lot of catching up to do.”
you mentally pat yourself on the back for answering his texts. definitely not your worst idea.

I swear I’ll get better at writing smut, folks 🫡
but for my first time writing it, I don’t think it’s horrible. if the ending feels a bit rushed, it’s because I’ve literally had this sitting in my drafts since miss olivia rodrigo released the music video for this song last august and I wanted it out 🙃.

Foster Care (KerstinCasparijXRuthBrownXTeenReader)

Warning: talks about foster care and slight trauma mentioned.
A/N: i hope you like this. It is a bit short but it won't be the last time writing about them.
Summary: Kerstin and Ruth take you in when you make your Manchester City Debut and they find Out you are living in a Foster group Home. you are not feeling well so they step up.
You had moved in with Kerstin and Ruth around three months ago. You made your Manchester City Debut for the Senior Team around five months ago. As soon as they found out that you lived in a Foster group Home they applied to Foster you and are planning on adopting you.
They really made you feel so loved. Something you never really had experienced in your life. So this was nice.
They were really caring and protective of you. You realized that once again when you woke up in the middle of the night, coughing like crazy. So you dragged yourself to the kitchen to make yourself a tea.
Ruth heard you and went to check on you.
"y/n, darling is everything okay?" She asked. Looking quite concerned when she noticed the sweat on your forehead and the glassy eyes.
"yes, just wanted to make myself a tea." You answered . "Maybe i am getting sick!" You added. She gently placed her hand on your forehead.
"you are burning up, Angel! I think you already are pretty sick. get back to bed please. I will make you some tea!" She told you and offered you a sympathic smile.
Before you could say something, Kerstin walked over.
"is everything okay?" She asked.
"y/n is sick. She has a fever." Ruth explained. Kerstin frowned softly.
"oh kiddo, i am sorry to hear that! Anything i can do?" Kerstin wanted to know.
"can you go with me and tuck me in?" You asked, biting down on your bottom lip.
Kerstin offered her hand to you, which you gladly took.
"yes of course!"she told you, smiling at you.
She then walked you back to bed. You got into bed and cuddled up to your Manchester City pillow.
"Can you lay with me until i am back to sleep, please?"
You asked her and she nodded her head softly. "Of course liefje." Kerstin laid next to you and you cuddled up to her. At the age of 15 right now was the first time you felt like you have found your place, where you could show weakness and be vulnerable. Kerstin held you and gently rubbed your back, you were coughing softly.
"Thank you!" You whispered out.
Ruth walked into your room 10 minutes later to found you asleep, you weren't the only one though. Kerstin was also asleep. Holding you protectively in her arms. Ruth smiled to herself. Placing the Cup of the on your nightstand and taking a picture of the two of you all cuddled up. She thought it was very cute. She went back to bed so you could get some rest. You made it until 5am before waking up from coughing so much. Kerstin was woken up by that as well. She helped you sit up and rub your back. Ruth walked into your room as well.
"Oh sweetie, it's okay. We are here!" Kerstin answered.
"thank you!" You slowly calmed down from that coughing fit.
"i will stay home with you today! Gonna call work to let them know i won't be coming in!" Ruth said, sitting down on the bed as well. Checking your fever again. "you are still burning up!" She stated and frowned softly.
"you don't have to stay home for me! I know your Job is important!" You said softly.
"you are way more important, lovely." Ruth told you.
"i can also stay home if you want." Kerstin offered.
"No, it's okay. The Team needs you. Both of us missing out on practice and most likely the Game won't help anyone." You said softly. "Oh what about my homework?" You added.
"i will tell Viv to ask Helene to take your homework with her so i can grab it from Viv." Kerstin replied. Helene was Viv's and Beth's adoptive daughter and also your best friend. She also played for Manchester City and was a year older then you.
"thank you." You answered. Ruth gave you some meds and then you went back to sleep while she was cooking some soup for you to eat later and Kerstin getting ready for early morning practice.
You almost slept through the entire day. You ate some soup, took a bath and cuddled with Ruth.
It was 6pm when Kerstin came back Home from another round of practice and you had some Family cuddles. Slowly starting to feel better.
"thank you for everything Mama & Mom." You whispered out before drifting off to sleep. The two couldn't help but smile and tear up a little when you said that. Knowing that you felt Safe enough to call them your moms was a big thing. They couldn't wait until the Adoption was finalized. And neither could you.

ೃ࿔࿐ CHAPTER I — GAME START

the cameras were focused on her, the studio lights making her sweat a little. she hoped they weren't able to see the beads of sweat through the cameras. yn always got a little nervous when she was in front of a camera, it was ironic that her whole career was built on cameras and other people.
"okay yn you ready?"
she cleared her throat as silently as she could, "yes."
"great. three... two... start!"
yn had to do something for her intro before talking. she decided on a simple wave, as her fans talked about how cute she looks while waving. she decided to play it safe.
"state your age and name please."
"lee yn. nineteen."
"nice to meet you yn. first we will explain the details and the rules of the game to you. is there anything you'd like to ask?"
she shook her head.
"great. so this game..."
they had explained everything thoroughly before she even signed the contract to agree to play the game so she knew what they were talking about. deciding to tune the mc out, yn nodded here and there letting the man know that she was listening. i mean she wasn't but... whatever.
"so yn, what do you think about the game overall?"
she'd tried to come up with something cheeky to say but she couldn't find anything. but she hoped it wouldn't matter how much fanservice she did right now because the game was full of fanservice anyway.
"i think it's great! i've never seen something like this before so i'm exited. i'm also very happy to meet new people!"
well she didn't lie that much this time, she really was excited. she was also nervous but no one had to know about that part. i mean if she even said it no one would care, and her fans would probably try to look into it and come up with crazy theories. god, she really didn't want to deal with that.
when the shooting was over they let her sit around for a little bit before getting her into the car that would take her to the house she would be staying at. she liked car rides, minus the part where she would get carsick. she usually preferred sleeping through the rides but she had to talk to a camera this time. it was okay i guess, she just felt weird talking to a camera all by herself.
"hey guys," yn smiled, a little shy, "did you miss my pretty face? i'm kidding, or am i?"
she continued to talk for five minutes before stopping the video and closing her eyes, hoping to get some sleep before a tiring day.
after a while, yn opened her eyes. coincidentally they had just parked the car and opened her door for her to get out. after stepping out of the car she looked at the building in front of her in awe. she hadn't expected it to be this big but it made sense, since there would be seven other people staying in there.
after going inside and looking at the rooms yn was told to sit down at the table that they temporarily put inside of the living room. after she sat down, they quickly started recording.
"okay so, you're going to choose someone after reading these papers and that'll be your partner from now on, so choose wisely."
"oh this is interesting..."
she started to read slowly, sometimes raising an eyebrow or two, sometimes smiling. she'd read all four papers when she picked the third one.
"this," she showed her paper to the camera "is my partner."
"okay," said the main mc "can you tell us what made you choose that person?"
"um... the fact that she can speak three languages is pretty cool. and it says here that she likes eating ice cream in winter and wearing mostly black clothes. we have those in common."
"okay great. thank you yn."
she smiled and nodded, slowly getting up from her seat and going over to one of the rooms. she laid on one side of the bed and slowly drifted to sleep. an hour later a staff member woke her up, telling her that she had to get a few photos taken. yn nodded and followed the staff out of the room.
after the shooting, she realized she had to eat or else she would be too hungry to sleep after. she opted for ramen, a quick and easy dish, also quite tasty for a packaged food.
as she was eating she began to wonder who her partner would be and what games they would play. she hoped it wasn't someone mean, she really didn't have the energy to deal with a mean person especially for a long time.
she sighed and decided to stop thinking. she didn't want to ruin the surprise by trying to guess who she'd be staying with anyway.

sacrifice - lando norris
pairing: lando norris x fem!reader
summary: you and lando have a long distance relationship due to your hard work. you rarely have free time to attend to his races, the only one you actually attend every year is monaco's. you understand things will have to change when lando gets into a crash and that makes you want to be there with him at everytimes.
author’s note: i hate making myself go through this.
word count:
warnings: lets pretend lando crashed duriung the interlagos gp, not the LA one, for the sake of the plot :)

"hey, babe!" you mumbled as you stirred from your nap. originally meant for a quick rest before the race, it turned into a marathon of sleep that spanned the entire duration of the race. checking the timing, you muttered, "shit."
"were you asleep?" he chuckled.
"yeah... I'm sorry babe. I was just trying to catch up on some sleep debt before the race. I am just tired..." you explained with a low rumble. lando always had a away of understanding things. "anyways, how did it go?"
"not so well, i am kind of glad that you didn't watch it, you would've freak out unnecessarely." he sighed
"why? what happened?" you sat up, eyes squeezed shut in alarm.
"it was nothing serious, just a crash." he reassured. the word 'crash' froze you, an unsettling feeling settling in your chest. "I'm fine now; I'm at the hospital doing some tests."
you didn't answer him and he immediately sensed your worry, it was your usual reaction whenever he had an incident. it was your own way to deal with stuff. "I'll have to stay here in brazil for some extra days. we don't want to rush things. everything is alright, but still."
"yeah, I know. how are you feeling? any pain? wasit bad? why are you at the hospital? is there anything they're worried about?" your thoughts rushed out, anxiety evident. you wished you could've been there with him, knowing how much he disliked going through hospitalization alone.
"calm down, baby. I'm fine, no pain. they gave me painkillers for my headache," he began, his voice carrying weariness and sadness. "the crash felt horrible from inside the car, but I've seen the footage, and it wasn't that bad. I don't think they're worried about anything specific, just my racing career," he added with a hint of self-deprecating humor.
"shut up. you know those jokes aren't funny, right?" you retorted, hating his tendency for such jokes. "anyways, I miss you so much. you have no idea." placing your phone on the bed, you awaited his response as you searched for your notebook.
"I know babe, I miss you like crazy too. and i won't be able to be home for some more days, as i told you. i hate it." you both sighed. "but it's okay, i'm glad you weren't here this time."
although you felt the honesty in his words, you could also know that it was pure bullshit. he wanted you to be there more that anything, and the fights you two had over the past weeks showed that clearly.
lando felt your support fading away and, as always, he talked about it with you, but there was nothing you could do, you could not just leave your work and follow him around the world.
your life had to come first. you couldn't be financially dependent. you had never wanted that for yourself.
"I love you, lando. you know that, right?"
"i know. I love you too." anuncomfortable silence lingered, more apparent to him than to you, as you were preoccupied with booking a flight to brazil. "look, I have to hang up to do some exams. I'll call you as soon as I can, yeah?"
"yeah, okay. keep me updated, for the love of god." he laughed and silently hang up.
as soon as you were able to, you called your boss, letting her aware of the whole situation, who, understandingly, granted you a week off, more than you needed. grateful, you expressed your thanks in every single way you could.
as you couldn't just fly there without someone knowing, you called lando's dad to let him know that you were going. he was thankful that his son had found someone who cared so much about him, and as so helped you through everything.
you would obviously be staying at lando's room with him, so you didn't need to worry about that, but there were things you actually needed to deal with and that's where he was an absolute angel, taking care of everything for you.
the flight proved to be torturous; sleep eluded you, your mind consumed by worry for your boyfriend, presently hospitalized in a foreign country that held no appeal for him. the inability to communicate with him intensified your anxiety, and the endurance of such a long flight was a challenge unfamiliar to you.
the only thing keeping you focused on trying to sleep was knowing that you'd see lando soon and that you needed to be sane.
once you arrived in brazil, adam had already sent an uber to pick you up and drop you at the hotel. you were eternally grateful for him. your appreciation deepened when, upon entering the hotel, you found everything seamlessly taken care of, allowing you to reach his son without delay.
he drove you there himself, the casual conversation during the car ride centered uiquely around the topic most dear to both of you—lando's health.
every detail adam shared heightened your awareness; lando was okay, but not as well as he should be. the information failed to ease your mind, creating a lingering unease.
after reaching the hospital, the attending doctor informed you that lando was still asleep but encouraged you to enter. you opened the door to his room, and an immediate sense of tranquility washed over you. lando's peaceful slumber tugged at your heartstrings, and the sight of his features made you want to cry; you had missed him so damn much.
you took his hand, staying by his side as he slept. despite your exhaustion, the anticipation of his awakening kept sleep at bay.
lando woke up and confusedly stared at you for five minutes straight. in his head, he was trying to figure out if you were real or if his desperation had just made you up. you squeezed his hand and that seemed to clear his mind. you were in fact there.
"love?" he muttered, scared of being wrong.
"hey baby" you whispered to him, smiling softly.
"you're here? what are you doing here?" he hurriedly sat up, his expression filled with worry, like he wasn´t the one on a hospital bed.
"i'm here to see you." you extended your hand and let it travel through his face. "got the week off, couldn't leave you alone." his smile was priceless. he rushed his arms around your waist, since you were standing now, and pulled you closer to him, head in your belly.
when he told you he had missed you like crazy, he didn't define it well enough.
he locked his lips with yours as soon as he had a chance. you missed that feeling, you missed it too fucking much. you missed everything about him too fucking much, and maybe this misfortune was just what you needed to realize that something had to change. you couldn't miss him like this all the time.
it was literal hell, for the both of you.
adam entered the room after some time and, from his face, you could see he carried good news.
and you were right. "you are free to leave today, all the exams cameback with positive answers. you still have to stay in brazil, of course, a flight so long could jeopardize your health, so you'll have to stay for a bit longer, but you two can go stay at the hotel for tonight.
you and lando celebrate this little "victory" with each other and then you start talking about going home, anticipating what you'd do.
the room was uncharacteristically quiet as he payed attention to the TV and you lost yourself in your own mind.
"I think I might quit my job." you let out with your head layed in his chest. he twists his head to look at you. "what?" he asks, clearly confused, in his head, trying to figure out where all of this was coming from.
yes, it's true that he didn't like to travel around the world every year and leave you behind, and it's also true that this past year, he felt your support fade away, but he didn't want you to leave your life in second place for him. he knew, and understood, how important for you it was to have your financial independence.
he had started to feel guilty, even though this was not his fault.
you thought and rethought about it during your flight, since it was the only thing you could do. of course you never wanted that, but you also couldn't bare the distance anymore, and his accident showed you that.
you wanted to be there, to be able to celebrate every single one of his podiums by his side and not over the phone, you wanted to be able to hold and support him whenever he needed you to do so.
six years into your relationship, neither of you envisioned it ending anytime soon. if it did, you had your savings, but for now, you craved closeness.
"seriously. i want to be with you. i think i never noticed how affected i was by your absence, but i am a lot." you admitted with a sigh. helistened intently. "I want to be able to be with you."
"are you for real?" he asked, concern in his eyes. "I don't want you to feel pressured to do that. I love you whether you're here or on the other side of the world."
"I know, lan. it's not like I would stop working. I just have to find something within my capacities that allows me to travel around the world with you. and it's not like you're going to break up with me, leaving me with nothing. I have my money."
"it's not like I'm gonna break up with you, period." he smirked. "we're a forever thing."
turning you around as if you were as light as a pillow, you wrapped your arms around his neck.
"I love you," you whispered against his lips.
"I love you too," he whispered back.

Don't Matter: Lewis Hamilton
Formula One Masterlist
word count: 1k
description: a bad experience while out shopping with Lewis has you questioning your relationship with him.

Today was supposed to be a nice day out shopping with your boyfriend. You guys had been walking around browsing different shops when you came across a jewelry store. Who knew a prefect day could go downhill in ten minutes?
"Why don't you look around while I go grab our drinks?" Lewis had said.
"Okay." You said giving him a kiss before walking inside.
You walked inside and went over to the ring section just to look to see if anything caught your eye.
"Hi there, is there anything I can help you with?" The associate asked as she glanced at your outfit.
"No just looking around." You said giving her a small smile.
You continued browsing around as you felt her follow you around, and you let out a sigh. You should've known better than to come in here without Lewis, people like you would always be looked down upon. You reached into your pockets and grabbed your phone preparing to text lewis when your sleeve fell down revealing your charm bracelet that lewis had gotten you for your birthday.
"Security! We have a possible theft happening!" The staff yelled as she grabbed your wrist.
"what are you talking about? I was wearing this when I walked in." You said.
"No you weren't. Nice try though." She said.
"Yes I was! I never take this thing off, it was gift from my boyfriend! See!." You said showing her a picture of you and lewis.
"I highly doubt that someone like lewis Hamilton is dating someone like you, let alone buying a $5000 bracelet." She said.
"Hey! Give me that back! My boyfriend gave me that!" You said as the bracelet was removed from your wrist.
"I highly doubt someone like Lewis Hamilton would date someone like you, let alone buy you an expensive bracelet like this. If you leave now we won't involve the authorities." She said.
You grabbed your bag and rushed out of their nearly crashing into Lewis who had just returned from getting y'all's drinks. He immediately set the drinks down and gathered you in his arms worried about you.
"Sweets what happened? Why are you crying?" Lewis asked gently stroking your hair.
"Nothing. Can you please just go get my bracelet back?" You asked.
"Your bracelet? Why would I need to go get it back?" He asked you confused.
"They accused me of stealing it and lying about my relationship with you. They said that you would never date someone like me, let alone buy me a $5,000 dollar charm bracelet." You said as anger boiled inside his chest.
The bracelet you were referring to was a gift from Lewis for your birthday that had charms on it that meant things to you. He had it custom made for you and never thought that someone would accuse you of stealing. How dare they treat you like that based on how you look? How dare you they say those things to you?
"I'll be back." Was all Lewis said.
"Lewis please it's not that big of deal!" You said following him into the store.
"Does someone want to explain to me why my girlfriend was so rudely treated based on her appearance? Please explain to me where you got the nerve to comment on my relationship with her and then accuse her of stealing?" He said.
"Mr Hamilton we are so sorry, there must have been some kind of mistake." The owner said trying to smooth the situation over.
"No mistake here, your staff all took one look at my girl at judge her and then accused her of stealing and saying some hurtful things. Give me her bracelet back now and believe me when I say your company will never get my business again." He said.
The staff member gave you the bracelet back but it was already ruined a few of the charms had fallen off. Lewis didn't miss the way you eyes water upon seeing the state of your bracelet.
"I'm sorry about the mix up miss." She said.
"No you're not. Your only sorry because my boyfriend and your boss made you give me my bracelet back. You people always look down on people like me and then try to kiss our ass when you find out we have money." You said giving her a nasty look.
You two made your way out of the store and into Lewis's car where you guys drove home not feeling up to shopping anymore.
Lewis hated seeing how much the other day affected you, you had shut down not wanting any gifts from him, and just withdrawn. He had sent your bracelet off to get fixed after that store broke it and it finally came back and he couldn't wait to give it back you.
"Where's mama Roscoe?" Lewis asked scratching his ears.
The two of them made their way towards y'all's bedroom where he found you sitting in reading. he quietly knocked and you looked up at him giving a small smile as you closed your book.
"I got something for you sweets." He said taking a seat on the bed and handing you the box.
"Lew I couldn't..." You started to say but he grabbed your hand and pulled you into his lap.
"Sweets I know what happened the other day made you get into your head...but trust me when I say that there is no one else for me, you are absolutely prefect. I don't care that you don't come from money or have a high paying job. I care only about the beautiful, kind girl who given me the absolute honor of having her as my girlfriend." He said placing a kiss on your lips.
"I'm sorry for shutting you out the last few days, between the incident and what they said, it just got in my head." You said to him.
"No need to apologize, I understand. Just as long as you understand, I will always defend and spoil you." He said making you smile as he handed you a box.
You carefully opened the box and were shocked to see your bracelet that had been broken a few days ago. You smiled as you lifted it up and saw all your charms and been put back on, before throwing your arms around Lewis.
"Thank you for being the best boyfriend ever, I don't deserve you." You said.
"It's me who doesn't deserve you." He said.
"Can you put it on me?" You asked shyly.
"Of course sweets." He said wrapping the bracelet around your wrist before placing a kiss on your knuckles.
"I love you Lew." You said placing a kiss on his lips.
"I love you sweetheart." He said looking at you with a smile.

Masterlist

You were never that big on punk, your parents took you to church every Sunday, you got good grades and you babysat around your neighbourhood. Your friend, on the other hand, loved rock, she was the polar opposite of you.
People questioned how you stayed together, you wondered yourself sometimes, but you'd known each other for years and were practically tied at the hip.
It was Friday, you had work time in your English class and your friend was leaning over to your desk beside hers.
"It's Friday." She said, a grin spread over her face. You nodded, watching her closely a moment as you knew what she was getting at. "There's a band I really want to show you."
You rolled your eyes at her. "I'm not going to a rock show."
"It's not rock." She whined. "It's punk." She laughed at the look you gave her. "Come on, you can come over and borrow some of my clothes, it'll be fun! Just one night."
You knew you should say no, these shows were in bars and creepy late, but she gave you those puppy dog eyes you couldn't say no to.
You walked back to her house after school, she helped you pick out an outfit from her closet. The night was already starting out of your comfort zone but her encouragement made it better, it was good to push your boundaries.
Ripped up, tattered old pants, a cut off band shirt she made herself, and since it was cold she leant you a patchwork jacket. You didn't even try to touch the makeup, letting her make a masterpiece out of you.
You liked the finished product, it just didn't look like you, but she seemed so happy so you didn't mind and followed her out of her house and to the pub.
Getting in was easy, no one cared who was or wasn't of age and you didn't plan on drinking so you wouldn't have issues with the bartender.
"This is 10 Minute Warning." She said, yelling in your ear so you could hear her over the loud music and people thrashing in the pit, though the whole floor was technically the pit.
They all looked like losers to you, especially the blue haired guitarist who kept looking over at you. You lost your friend in the crowd so you sat at the bar close to the door to catch her if she left.
You weren't a fan of the music or the crowd, but the bartender was giving you free soda's and everyone was polite enough to leave you alone, maybe flash you a smile.
The night dragged on and you were getting tired and annoyed, head feeling like it was going to explode. You wanted to go and find your friend but you knew that as soon as you left this spot she was going to walk right past you and leave. So you stayed put and just hoped she would find you.
The band got off the small stage, you didn't pay much attention to them as another band got on, more people flooding the room only aiding in making it harder for you to find your friend.
You were turned to face the doors, staring at them as you waited for your friend. You spun around when you felt a tap on your shoulder, thinking it was her but instead it the guitarist.
He was smiling friendly enough at you, his eyes were bright as he greeted you. "I, uh, I'm Duff." He said, holding a hand out for you to shake.
You hesitated but took his hand nonetheless. "Duff?" You asked, raising a brow at him. "Is that, like, your real name?" You pulled your hand away from his.
He stared at you a moment. "Michael." He said. "Michael McKagan, but there's a lot of Michaels in my neighbourhood so we have nicknames." He explained, resting his elbow on the bar.
You gave a small nod, at least there was a reason for it for the name. You introduced yourself and he kept talking, hoping you’d listen even though he saw you staring off into the crowd.
Duff paused, staring at you a moment before he turned to the crowded room. “What does your friend look like?” He asked. You let out a heavy sigh and described her as best you could. “I, uh, I saw her leave a while ago.” He lied, he just wanted your attention which now snapped to him.
“She what?” You asked, brows raised.
“I could drive you around, help you look for her?” He offered, hopping off the barstool and holding a hand out for you to take.
You hesitated a moment, you didn’t know if he had a license, if he could drive. Hell, you didn’t know if he even had a car, but you needed to find your friend so you went with him.
Despite whatever you thought of him he was a gentleman, holding doors open for you, helping you into an old car that he had the actual key to so you trusted it was his, if he was going to steal a car sure enough it would be nicer than this piece of junk.
You scanned the area while he drove, looking for any sign of your friend. You knew she’d probably be fine but you wanted to be sure of it before you went home.
Duff could tell that you were tired and worried. He reached over and placed a hand on your thigh, rubbing it soothingly.
You glanced down at his hand, how small you were in comparison. “What are you doing?” You asked, knowing you should get his hand off of you but it was warm. Really, it wasn’t that bad…
Duffs gaze flickered to you before returning to the road ahead. “Just, um… you look tired, you can sleep, you know? I-I won’t do anything, I’m not like that.” He assured, his thumb rubbing soothing circles on your bare skin.
You thought for a long moment. It had been a long night, Duff was nicer than most others, despite your previous perceptions of him. You’d spent your whole life being good, getting good grades, going to church, this that and the other thing and yet right now, sitting in a strangers car with his hand on your thigh… you felt happy, really happy.
“Actually…” You started, turning back was still an option, you knew that. Still, you kept going. “Could you do something?”
Duff raised a brow at that. “What do you want me to do?”
You looked out the window. You were beside an empty park, no one was out at this time, it was perfect.
“Pull over.” You said, already shimmying out of your skirt. Duffs face flushed when he saw what you were doing. He listened and pulled up to the curb, taking his hand off your thigh to do so.
“Now what?” He asked, keeping his hands on the wheel as he looked to you.
The reality of what was about to happen finally hit you and you tensed up. “Um… what-what do you normally do..?” You asked hesitantly.
He stared at you a moment. “I don’t think, um…” he trailed. Before he could finish your lips were on his, hand on his shoulder and pulling him closer.
Duff was quick to unbuckle his seatbelt, then reaching over to do yours. You wriggled out of the rest of your clothes while he reclined your seat. He pulled his shirt off and undid his jeans, pushing them down just enough for his half hard cock to spring free.
You eyed his pinkish member. “Is it, uh, are-are they always that big..?” Your voice was barely there as you asked the question.
Duff felt something rising in his chest at that, you were innocent and shy. He swallowed thickly before responding. “No, I’m just…” He trailed, eyes traveling over your soft skin. “Just sit still, let me know if you wanna stop, or something.” His words were mumbled as he moved.
He pulled you down the seat, the car was small and it forced him to cage you against the seat. His knees pushed on the leather, he had a hand on your hip and his other arm went around your waist, holding you to him.
You were so small compared to him, fitting perfectly in the seat whereas his knees were always in his chest.
He moved his tip through your folds, gathering your wetness to use as lube. Clearly this was doing something for you, how vulnerable you were to him, like a bunny with a wolf.
He pushed into you without warning and you squealed, eyes screws shut at the sharp pain from him stretching out your innocent hole. “Duff-! Just-just wait!” You begged, gripping his arms tightly, looking up at him with wide, pleading eyes.
He nodded, leaning down and kissing along your neck. “Tell me when you’re ok.” He muttered, placing sweet kisses on your sensitive skin.
You tried focusing on your breathing but it was hard, and it only got worse when the pain subsided and all you could think about what how good he felt.
His hips bucked, drawing a soft moan from you. “That sounds ok.” He mumbled, more to himself than to you. “Can-can I move now?” He was having a harder time not moving the longer he stayed still in you, squeezed by your gummy walls.
“Please…” You squeaked out, looking up at him with a pout. He didn’t waste a second, thrusting into you hard and deep, though he didn’t go all too fast, wanting to savour this moment.
The car shook with every roll of his hips, the small space filling with your moans and his low grunts.
As much as he tried to go slow for you, and for himself, he couldn’t take it much longer. He swallowed thickly, pushing a few strands of your hair out of your face. “Fuck, you’re so pretty just like that.” He mused, looking over you, though he refused to let his gaze go too low.
“Duff,” you started, eyes filled with a sense of worry, “it-it feels weird.” His movements didn’t stop but they did slow.
He lifted himself up as best he could taking in the bulge he made in your stomach, the way you kept sucking him back it, how you stretched around his veiny girth. “Good weird?” He asked, calloused hand trailing down your side before pressing his palm down flat on the lump.
You nodded, exasperated. You looked down to the bulge made from his cock, eyes widening slightly. It only fuelled him on even more and his thrusts got faster. His hands were on your hips, holding your with a bruising grip as his hips bucked into you.
He was needy and desperate and your moans were all he could hear, you were all he could see, his only focus.
His movements got harsher, he was rutting into you like a dog. He wasn’t that experienced, really, usually he was high and let the woman he was with do the work. He wanted to be closer to you, he wanted to go deeper.
Duff wrapped his arms around you, holding as close as he could get to you, forcing your back to bend while he humped into you, tip hitting a new angle, one that had you seeing stars.
You moaned loudly, eyes rolling back as you came, clenching around him and milking him as he emptied himself inside you with a few low groans in your ear.
Duff swallowed thick, slowly pulling away and looking down at your spent body, chest rising and falling with each heavy breath.
Your gaze flickered over him, eyes fluttering and struggling to stay open. Duff smiled tiredly down at you and moved you into a different position. He pushed the seat back as far as it would go and held you on top of him, letting you use him as a sort of mattress.
He rubbed your back and kissed the top of your head, your forehead and temple, wherever he could reach without disturbing you too much. He pulled his jacket over you to use as a blanket and keep you warm, not that it was an especially cold night.
He stayed buried in you for the night, preferring those chances over cleaning dried cum from his seats.

The Love of a Father
I don't know why I am on such a kick for Stark!Reader but I am so enjoy!
Mainly: Dad!Tony Stark x Peter Parker x Stark!F!Reader
Other Pairings: Steve Rogers x Stark!F!Reader x Bucky Barnes, MJ x Peter Parker.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The atmosphere in the Avenger Campus was..tenses. To say lightly. Just taking one step on the campus and you can feel how everyone was on edge. All the Avengers seem off. Snappy almost. Worst of them was Tony , Steve and Bucky. It been like this for Weeks. Ever since losing contact with Y/n and Peter.
A few weeks back Y/n and Peter were sent on a quick and simple mission. There had been some strange Activity readings coming from an abounded building that was once know to be used by Hydra. It should have been a fast and easy mission. Just get in, get some readings and get back. At the most should have taken 3-4 days. But the mission went wrong fast. As drones came out attacking Y/n and Peter. The last thing that The Avengers had any communications with them, they saw Peter and Y/n complaining about their suit acting up. Then at one moment Y/n tries saying something about her suite not respawning to her. Then her communications and suit went offline. They all watched in horror as they can see Y/n falling out of the sky. Peter swings trying to get to her as he screams her name before his suite and communications also went offline. The Avengers lost all connection to them.
Tony , Steve and Bucky went crazy. Pinning the last known location of their suits and running off to the location. Trying to find them. But every lead they found was a dead end.
In those weeks it became so tense in the Avengers campus. Everyone on edge as they also worry about Peter and Y/n. They were also very worried about Steve , Bucky and Tony. Who all three were on a thin line from breaking. Tony was locked up in his lab all day and night. Never leaving. At times there can even be tools and other objects being thrown around the lab. Steve and Bucky weren't much better in the training rooms. Needing to blow off steam. Steve broke almost every single punching bag. And Bucky volunteered to spar and train the new recruits. All of which ended up in the infirmity with injuries.
It was another day of the three not sleeping and stressing. When alarms started going off in the building. Many of the avengers come together in communications room. "Whats going on here?" Tony asked rushing in. Nat looked back at him before looking back at the screens trying not to say anything about his dark eye bags. Normal she wouldn't hold back. But she knows Tony along with Steve and Bucky aren't holding it very well with Peter and y/n missing. "Someone hacked into the system and got one of the quin jets to take off". "Do we have any way to get control of it again or anything?" Steve asked as he and Bucky also walked in. Nat shook her head no. "Whoever it is they know what they are doing. They took full control we are completely locked out. Even Friday can't get into it". Tony nodded as he step forward watching the screen as it shows the flight path the jet was going on. "Okay lets keep an eye on it see where its going.".
Over the the next day they kept a close eye on the jet when they noted that the jet was heading back to the campus. The Avengers decided to suit up and wait for the jet. To get the element of surprise on whoever took the jet and is coming back.
Friday; Communications form Quinn Jet 2914 incoming.
Tony approved it as the avengers listen in to see who it was. "Y/n Stark, (Iron hero name), We are about 20 minutes from landing at avengers campus. I'm going to need a med unit as soon as we land.". Y/ns voice cracks through the coms. Everyone went silent as their breath catches into their throats. "Friday get the med units here now!" Tony said panicking as he pulled up the screens to see when the jet will land.
Those 20 minutes felt like years as they all waited. Seeing the jet come down and land. All on edge as they wait for the doors to come down. Standing back to not rush Y/n and Peter. After landing a few minutes later, Y/n and Peter coming hobbling out. They look very rough. Beaten and cut. Peter leaned on Y/n as his arm was around her shoulders as she basically carried him out. The medical Unit rushed forward with Tony , Steve and Bucky. Tony helping Y/n get Peter on a stretcher. Then get the medical team rushing Peter off as he was in a very bad condition. Y/n stepped back as she let the team take over. As she did Steve and Bucky stepped up to check her over. She sighed as she turned them. Falling tired into Steves arms. Steve pulls her close. Picking her up as he carries her to the medical unit as well.
Its now been days since the events. Tony , Steve and Bucky never leave their side. Making sure that Peter and Y/n were okay and getting the story of what happen. But as the days passed Steve and Bucky became worried. Y/n wasn't really talking. She was off. They tried to be patient and let her heal. But they were worried about her.
After Peter and Y/n healed and were doing a bit better the Avengers held a get together. Not a full party. Just sitting around drinking , eating and being around one another. Steve and Bucky were talking as they watched Y/n carefully.
"i'm worried about her. Shes....just not the same". Steve said to Bucky as they watched Y/n. "I am too. I know we need to give her time. But still. I'm afraid something else is wrong." Bucky replied. Steve nodded as they see Pepper as she was get a drink. They look at each other before walking over to Pepper. "Hey Pepper, Can we talk to you a bit.". Pepper smiled up at them. "Hi Steve, Bucky. Yeah what's up?". "Its Y/n. We are worried about her ... she seems off.". Bucky said. Pepper smiled softly as she nodded seeing what they are talking about. She gesture them to follow her. They do as she walks them over to one of the couches that was off to the side of the room. On the couch asleep was Tony laying flat on his back. tucked into one side was Y/n then other side Peter and laying on his chest was Morgan. As they all slept. Tony holding them all close to them.
"She just needs her fathers comfort.... I know its hard. But give her some time. She will be okay." Pepper says softly to them. Both Steve and Bucky nodded as they looked down at them. Y/ns face was more relaxed as she slept in the comfort of her father and her siblings.
A fathers love is what both siblings needed to heal.
----------------------------------------------------------------
This is not the best, I had this idea of needing a fathers comfort but wasn't sure how to write it. Please if you wish to use the idea please do and tag me. Enjoy -MM

Forever Healed | TUA insert
Chapter: 01
<<previous chapter | next chapter>>
Masterlist
…
The next morning I woke up in disbelief of what I saw the previous night. I always thought Reginald’s grip on me was too tight for him to let go. I believed that he would live forever, that he would lecture me in his overpriced mansion when I failed at becoming my own person.
I didn’t know if I should feel sad or not, after all, it’s not like he would feel the same if it was me who died that man had the emotional intelligence of a zoo animal. At least that's what I tried to tell myself. But I did want to go back to my old home, just to see if this was a huge prank played on me and he would be there to finally give me what I wanted for years now.
No, this was reality and I knew that because at my front door was a letter, it was addressed from Pogo. The “man” who practically raised me instead of the parent I was supposed to have. How he knows where I live, I had no idea, but it felt good to hear from him after all this time. He told me to come back to the house for the service and I couldn’t just ignore him.
Since this was a funeral I should wear black or maybe some bright neon-colored outfit for the last F you to the big man. But after looking in my closet I realize I only own sad mundane clothes.
“Black it is..” I whisper to myself.
..
The taxi ride was silent, after telling the driver where I wanted to go I think she knew exactly who I was. I fixed my hair several times and thought about the other adopted children who also experienced hell living there. From time to time I do like to check up on how they're doing, never face to face though.
Like Allison and her latest celeb drama, or Diego still acting like a superhero only now he’s almost 30 and lives in someone else’s storage closet. I'm not sure that adult life has been kind to any of my siblings but I wish the ones who weren't here could’ve still experienced it.
We had come to a stop and I could see the house in all its glory, it gave me shivers that crawled down my spine. I stepped out of the taxi and just stared up at the tall building, If I was about to go in I needed to majorly hype myself up.
After standing there shaking, my shaky hand had finally started to open the intricate umbrella engraved glass doors. This reminded me of the first time I showed up to this place just as terrified of the unknown, but this time instead of crying on the doorstep the unknown opened the door for me. If the unknown was a small monkey man with glasses and a wooden walking stick named Pogo.
“Miss Y/n, please do come in.” Pogo expressed with a warm smile on his monkey face. “I believe you are one of the first to arrive, just right after Master Luther and Klaus. Luther is in your father's room and Klaus is in his study if you’d like to visit them.”
I wasn't paying attention to Pogo’s words, instead I was taking a look around. It took me a while to come up with the right words, it’s like I forgot how to speak. The inside of this place looked like it hadn't changed since I moved out, not one piece out of place.
“Maybe later.” I croaked out, “I'd like to take a look around for a bit.” We walked into the main lounge of the home. I forgot how much there was to see, the space was decorated very well in my opinion.
“As you wish Miss Y/n, let me know if you need anything else.” He called out as he started to walk in the opposite direction. I called back out to him in a small panic.
“Pogo wait,” I said and he turned back around to look at me.
“Yes-“ It only took me a few steps to reach him as I opened up my arms for a hug and he caught on. I embraced the smaller “man”, it felt so familiar, so comforting it almost made me feel good to be back. We stood like that for what could’ve been all my life and I wouldn't care before I pulled back thinking it was too much. “It’s so good to see you, my girl. Welcome home.” I immediately felt back at ease when he spoke those words.
Pogo was a prominent figure in my adolescence to the point where I didn't even question how a monkey could talk. I'd like to think of him as one of my saving graces for getting past the years that I could never forget.
“It feels strange to be back,” I said walking back over to the lounge area. On the wall, I could see a bunch of familiar items like our Umbrella Academy comics, some of our news articles and-
“How long has it been since Five disappeared?” A voice cut in, my eyes searched the room looking for that voice. I set my sights on a small scrawny woman with brown hair pulled into a bun.
It was Vanya, she’s changed since I last saw her but that comes with age I guess, she still shares the same mannerisms as her younger self.
“Miss Vanya! I'm glad to see you as well.” Pogo exclaimed, turning to her but then went back to the portrait of Five on the wall. Made just before he ran away but hung up after as a sign to remember him by our father. I don't think it was out of love for his son but more of a warning for us to not end up like him. “But to answer your question, it's been sixteen years, four months, and fourteen days. Your father insisted I keep track.”
I gave Vanya a little smile and she spoke again. “You wanna know something stupid? I always used to leave the lights on for him.” Pogo and I looked at her sympathetically. “I was scared that he would come back, it would be late, and the house would be dark and he wouldn't be able to find us, so he’d leave again.”
I don’t know if it was childish or hopeful for her to think he would just one day return to us and all would be forgiven but it was true that she never lost hope.
“So, every night I'd make a little snack and make sure all the lights were on.” She finished.
Pogo sighed at her words. “Oh, I remember your snacks. I'm pretty sure I stepped in half those peanut butter and marshmallow sandwiches.” Yes, it was a sad memory but I think all three of us took comfort in the fact that they had these little things they did. To cope with the fact that a part of us was lost the day he left.”Your father always believed that Number Fiver was still out there somewhere. He never lost hope.” He continued.
Vanya frowned, “And look where that got him.”
..
Alison and Luther made their way to us in the lounge room along with Diego and Klaus following soon behind them, but I had already sat on a couch next to Vanya.
This was an odd event since everyone was so quiet and sticking to themselves or their drinks. And Pogo had left a few minutes ago so any conversations that he sparked no longer existed and it was back to complete silence.
I twiddled with a loose string on my cardigan, trying to shake at least some of the anxiety that brewed from the room. You’d think because we were together almost for half of our lives we would know how to ask each other how life’s been but I guess not. I'd have to talk to Alison sometime soon and also Klaus, out of everyone I've been the most excited to talk to him.
Luther stood up from one of the large couches and cleared his throat. “Uhm, I guess we should get this started. So, I figured we could have some sort of memorial service. In the courtyard at sundown.” He paused. “Say a few words, just at Dad’s favorite spot.”
“Dad had a favorite spot?” Alison questioned.
Luther replied, “You know, under the oak tree.” And I honestly doubt anyone knew or cared but him. He was always more attached to Dad anyway.
“We used to sit out there all the time. None of you ever did that?” Of course not...
Klaus chimed in walking over to the group, a drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other. “Will there be refreshments? Tea? Scones? Cucumber sandwiches are always a winner.”
“What? No. And put that out. You know Dad didn't allow smoking in here.” Luther argued.
“Well he is dead so does it matter” I said while rubbing my forehead. I'm already getting a headache from Luther and it's been five seconds. He throws me a look and I just shut up. Arguing with him also reminds me of a zoo animal and it's not just his new physique..
Alison points to Klaus’s interesting new outfit and says. “Is that my skirt?” And I'm reminded of our teenage years all over again.
“What? Oh! Yeah, this. I found it in your room.” Klaus says. “It’s a little dated, I know, but it's very breathy on the bits-“
Luther cuts in with a stern voice. “Listen up. Still, some important things that we need to discuss, all right?”
“Like what?” Diego asks and finally looks up at us.
“Like the way he died.”
“And here we go..” Diego remarks.
Vanya stares at Luther confused. “I don’t understand. I thought they said it was a heart attack?”
“Yeah, according to the coroner..”
“Well, wouldn't they know” I say?
“Theoretically”
“Theoretically?” Alison raises a brow at Luther's strange words.
“I'm just saying, at the very least, something happened. The last time I talked to Dad, he sounded strange.” He adds on.
Klaus starts gurgling his alcohol and with a strange noise, he says. “Oh, quelle surprise!” Whatever that means..
“Strange how?” I try to continue.
“He sounded on edge. Told me I should be careful who to trust.”
“I don’t think that’s anything out of the ordinary, like at all.” I shrug.
Diego stands from his chair. “Luther, he was a paranoid, bitter old man who was starting to lose what was left of his marbles.”
“No. He must have known something was gonna happen.” I roll my eyes at Luther's statement. “Look, I know you don’t like to do it, but I need you to talk to Dad.” He finishes by looking at Klaus. The only one of us with those capabilities, Klaus looked panicked by his words.
“I can’t just call Dad in the afterlife and be like, Dad could you just.. stop playing tennis with Hitler for a moment and take this quick call” Klaus states exaggerating the words with hand movements.
“Since when? That’s your thing.”
“I'm not in the right.. frame of mind.”
“You’re high?” Alison turns to look at Klaus.
“Yeah!” he chuckles, still holding his drink and cigarette while sitting “Yeah! I mean how are you not listening to this nonsense?”
“Well sober up, this is important,” says Luther and Klaus groans.”Then there’s the issue of the missing monocle.”
“Who gives a shit about a stupid monocle?” Diego cuts in, which I would have to agree with.
“Exactly, it's worthless. So whoever took it, I think it was personal.” Everyone stares at Luther like he is delusional and at this point, me included. “Someone close to him. Someone with a grudge.”
“Where are you going with this? You lost me at Dad's favorite spot” I ask Luther directly.
Diego stares up at Luther and gets out of his chair to get closer to him. “Oh, isn’t it obvious, Y/n? He thinks one of us killed Dad.” I know everyone knew that was what he was saying but hearing it come from Diego’s mouth hit everyone.
“You do?” Says Klaus. “How could you think that?” Vanya added.
“Great job, Luther. Way to lead.” Diego walks out of the lounge room.
“That’s not what I'm saying,” Luther grunts.
Klaus gets up too not before saying this on his way out. “You’re crazy, man. You’re crazy. Crazy”
“I've not finished” Luther tries to tell us to sit back down.
“Sorry, I'm just gonna go murder, Mom. Be right back” I say with a smile.
“That’s not what I was saying. I didn't-“ Luther sighs as Vanya walks out too. Leaving Allison the last one in the room with a pleading Luther. “Alison. Jeez..” He says trying to call out to her. But unfortunately for him, she also walks away leaving him to mutter to himself alone. “That went well.”
..
“Hey,” I whispered to Vanya as she was sitting on the stairs deep in thought. “That was.. intense right?” Out of everyone she was the easiest to talk to, she always was there for me.
But I do have to admit I could’ve been there for her more and I'm not sure what she thinks about me after all these years. By her silence she confirmed what I thought, she hates me. After sitting for a second in the silence I wanted to run away and retreat to my room. But she raised her head and looked me in the eyes.
“Yeah it was, Luther was way off.” She says.
I could hug her right now, I'm so happy hearing her voice. I hummed in response but I couldn’t think of anything to say, we just ended up looking at each other waiting for the other to bring up our next topic. “Uhm you're still playing the violin, right? How’s that going.” I ask.
Vanya gives me an awkward smile “It's going pretty okay, I play for an orchestra near my apartment. I also give lessons to kids when I have the time.”
“That’s amazing Vanya.” I smile back. “What chair are you?” That is the extent of my orchestra knowledge, I always liked hearing her play but didn't have any knacks for instruments myself. And it's not like Dad would’ve given me any time to learn, always on to the next mission or session with him.
“Third” she frowns, “for the last couple of years now I guess.”
I wasn’t sure what to say to that. I didn't want her to think that was bad because I'm sure she is trying her best so we were back to silence again. As I stare off into the distance.
But then I look up to hear a loud muffled noise, like a song? It was coming from upstairs. I wasn't going crazy because Vanya heard it too. I remember listening to this song as a teenager and my only conclusion is that this was playing from Luther's record player. The song still played as I told her who I thought was playing this, and we both started laughing before Vanya stood up and held her hand out to me and pulled me up too.
I kept laughing as she started to sway back and forth to the music, she looked so carefree so I joined her. I'm no star dancer myself but being with her made me feel like I could do anything and that's what I did. We bounced around as the chorus started, grabbing each other's hands and mouthing the lyrics.
“I think we’re alone now,” I started.
“Doesn’t seem to be anyone around” Vanya continues.
“I think we're alone now”
“The beating of our hearts is the only sound” This was an out-of-character moment for both of us but we didn't care, we were simply enjoying ourselves and I wondered if anyone else was dancing too.
The music skips as thunder cuts the song off and we stop. The whole house starts to rumble and Vanya grabs on to me as we look around at all the flying items that are coming off shelves and tables.
I was confused, nowhere did the forecast mention thunder and lighting at all and looking outside I didn't see anything, only a blue glowing ball forming in the sky near the back of the house.
Luther and Alison run from upstairs towards us and they tell us we need to go outside, where we run into Diego. He must have seen the glowing too.
..
“Oh shit“ I plug my ears, the lighting whips and thunder got louder as we reached the door. Diego was the first of us out there, and then we all followed. We were horrified at the sight ahead of us. No longer was this a blue ball but more like a large translucent blue ripple in the sky.
“What is it?” Vanya yells out.
Alison pushes Luther slightly back with her hand “Don’t get too close” she says.
“Yeah, no shit” Diego interjects.
Luther points it out. “Looks like some sort of temporal anomaly. Either that or a miniature black hole. One of the two.” For a moment I forgot that he spent all that time and space, he was more knowledgeable than us.
“Pretty big difference there, Paul Bunyan!” Diego exclaims. Hearing all of their voices I slowly realized who was missing..
“Out of the way!” Klaus yells from inside.
He starts to run up to us with something in his hand “What are you doing?!” I called out. He then runs up to the “black hole” and throws a fire extinguisher into it? I'm worried for Klaus if his response to strange situations is to throw something at it.
Alison gave him a puzzled look “What is that going to do?” She said,
“I don’t know, do you have a better idea?” He replies with exasperation. His frustration seemed to somewhat affect the glowing thing because it suddenly got bigger, and flashed strong blue light at him. Klaus lets out a shriek and runs behind me.
“Woah woah get behind me,” Luther says addressing us. Diego decides to chime in, of course, to upstage him and says that we should get behind him instead.
“I vote for running c’mon!” Klaus tries to grab my arm but I stay still, if I was scared of anything anymore I would've run but I was dying to see how this played out.
All of us just kind of stood there, some probably accepted their fate that this blob of color was gonna swallow them whole. I look down to see Alison and Luther hand and hand.
But that's not the only thing I see, because something was coming out of the light. A man? A boy? I was so confused. He lets out a terrible screech, like coming through that “portal” was ripping him apart.
All of us take a closer look at the now clearer image because whatever was in the portal dropped down onto the mud-covered floor. And the blue light disappears above him.
“Oh my god,” I said, I finally recognized what was standing right in front of me. All of us took a couple of steps closer to him.
“Does anyone else see little Number Five, or is that just me?” Klaus asked.
Five looks down at himself and for the first time in close to 17 years I hear him speak.
“Shit.”

Sims In Bloom: Generation 2 Pt. 118 (The Calm Before)
Life continued for Heather and Conrad after their eventful trip to the city. Conrad couldn't be the one to canvas his old apartment building in San Myshuno, but he made arrangements with his partner, Detective Spangler, before he, Heather, and Ash had even returned to Brindleton Bay.
He believed they would find Ximena there, but they had to be discreet, and his team worked with San Myshuno PD to watch the Arts Quarter and confirm their suspicions.
They felt life at home might soon return to normal, so Heather started to think about that wedding and kept up her workouts. Spring would come soon enough, and she'd be able to go for jogs with Gord once the weather warmed, too. Gord couldn't wait for that, either.
Conrad would be able to turn his focus to Rafa and George Brindleton without the threat of Ximena breathing down their necks. While officers worked behind the scenes, the Nesbitt-Gordon household buzzed with contentment.
With the family always happy to see him, River paid a visit to talk with Hazel about her break up. Heather wanted to help, but she had to admit to herself that she was disappointed in Hazel for cheating.
Only 'Old Man River' could find the right words to express disappointment without a hint of judgment, and when he walked into the bedroom, Heather got up to make herself scarce.
River glanced at his younger sister with concern. He could see she was beating herself up and wanted to hear her side of things.
"Why didn't you leave your wife before you called Suri again?"
"I think a part of me wanted to hurt Nicola for how she treated me," admitted Hazel. "I know how terrible that is, but she made me dread coming home some nights, and we kept talking about trying to make it work, but we never did. She was too high maintenance and trying to meet her needs was costing my sanity. I think, more than anything, I was just mad at her, but I feel sick about how much I hurt her. I left town, but she's stuck there trying not to hear everyone whispering about her."
"I wouldn't worry about Nic," River said. "I ran into her mother at the Crumpleclones' flower stall yesterday. She took a sabbatical from the school and Mike's class will have a substitute teacher until she's back. If she comes back. I guess she's going on a show called Dating Deanna that starts filming in Tartosa soon."
Hazel reeled. "Nicola?! On a dating show? Does she know they usually put contestants through their paces and people...people cheat?"
"Maybe she thought her usual ways weren't really working for her anymore."
Hazel considered this with a nod. It was suddenly all too clear why he'd come to see her. "I hope Nic finds someone who makes her happy."
"And is Suri a rebound? Or are you really interested in her?"
"I don't know. I really like her and we have more in common than Nic and I did." Hazel shrugged. "I hope it's real, but we're giving each other space right now, after everything fell apart so publicly."
"That might not be the worst idea, but don't punish yourself and miss out on something that might be really good. You made a mistake and you have to learn from it; it's really that simple, but you're not a horrible person." River offered his little sister a hug, and Hazel accepted it willingly. "Maybe one day you and Nic can get closure for the way everything broke down, but you're on different journeys now, and you both have a chance to find happiness and really discover who you are. That's what really matters."
"Thanks, big bro. I know I'd deserve it if you were all mad at me."
He shook his head with a warm smile. "No you wouldn't. You didn't do anything to us. Just Nic. Maybe Suri, if you dragged her into this for nothing."
He stayed for dinner before heading home, leaving Heather dancing to the aerobics channel on his way out.
Lavender loved to be outside, and if her mom focused too long on her exercising, she'd usually sneak outside with her coat on to play around in the snow. One evening, she found a snowman Ash had built and promptly destroyed it - much to Ash's chagrin.
"I worked hard on that snowman!" he cried, pulling a frightening face to try to scare his little sister. Lavender peeled back in surprise.
"I sowwy, Ashy."
Ash scowled, but he couldn't stay mad at her, and immediately pulled her in for an autonomous hug. "It's okay, Lava. Just try not to do it anymore."
"I'll twy."
The next day, Ash invited his friend Arron Kalani over after school, excited to show off his brilliant new invention. "It's a remote control that will melt the snow!"
He pressed a button. Arron glanced outside the sliding patio doors in the living room and frowned at the white powder that had coated the town since the start of winter. "I don't think it works."
"It's solar powered. When the sun returns in the spring it should power up easier."
Arron turned up his nose in confusion. "What's the point of it working in the spring when the snow will be melted already?"
Lavender sat on the couch and giggled happily. "Ashy took ice-chippy!" she tattled.
Arron chuckled as Ash laughed at his oversight. "It's still pretty cool," Arron insisted. "I bet your next model will work better."
Life was always good, but the Nesbitt-Gordons couldn't help but feel as though things had never been better. For once, they weren't afraid to be hopeful. Heather kept working hard at Buttercup Pet Clinic, and Conrad focused on some other cases at work.
He had just finished looking over Officer Adler's notes on the recent Mercury Gratz assault case when the text they'd all been waiting for came in from Detective Spangler.
"We got her, Lieutenant. She was booked at San Myshuno PD first thing this morning." ->

NOTE: Arron is the son of Zoe Patel and Mitchell Kalani, and he has younger twin siblings Isabelle and Xavier.
Thought I'd end the year on a high note with Ximena behind bars! The second batch of year-end favourite screenies comes tomorrow before the story continues on New Year's Day, but the last one could rival any of the last 25, in my opinion.

Makarov x Price daughter pt.4
This chapter is just to explain what Price did in the whole year since his daughter is gone. Its different then the other ones I still hope you like it. I'll try to set myself a goal to publish the next chapter tomorrow.
Previous Part. next part
Four months he was away from his home, from his wife Tina, and you. God, he missed you and couldn’t wait to see you again. He planned the whole month how he would apologize to you for saying you were a disappointment. Of course, you weren't a disappointment; he just didn't know how to show it to you. You weren't his little girl anymore, so grown and independent. Tina needed him more than you, or at least he thought so. Tina was a spitfire, always getting in danger, disrespecting teachers, while you were a perfectly behaved little girl. Never once in his life occurred the thought that you could do anything wrong. So he neglected you, and he knew that was a mistake now.
During this time off, he would give you all the attention you needed and finally be the dad you deserved. If only you'd accept his apology. He finally arrived in Cardiff, his clothes still dirty from the long flight, his beard overgrown, and he looked a bit like a Neanderthal, but this time he couldn't wait. He rang the bell, Tina and his wife already running into his arms.
"Where is she?" he asked curiously, eager to find out where you were. You mostly took the day off when he came back from deployment. Maybe you couldn’t or did overtime again because a birth took longer than planned.
"Dunno," his wife said bluntly, not mentioning the fact that you hadn’t been home for three months. She saw you making out with an older guy again the day you went "missing". In her mind, you were a spoiled brat who didn't appreciate everything she gave you. She wasn’t your mother and still tolerated you. Shouldn’t you be grateful for that?
After 10 hours at home, your dad grew anxious. He always had a great gut feeling, and something felt off, so he needed to investigate this situation, making sure you were okay. You were his little girl, after all. Telling his wife a white lie, he went to the hospital where you worked.
The delivery station looked weird to him. Everyone was smiling brightly, as if there wasn’t any pain or war in the world. The midwives walked around in pink scrubs, and everywhere were damn cupcakes. It was the first time he visited you at work, and he felt guilty about how he reacted the day you told him you wanted to become a midwife. He should have been proud of you.
After looking around and not finding you, he asked one of the midwives, explaining that he was your dad and had returned from deployment. He got more confused when the midwife told him to sit down and your supervisor came out, taking him into her office.
"Look, your daughter was our best midwife apprentice, but she hasn’t been at work for the last three months without any notice," she explained.
"What do you mean three months? She loves her work," he said.
"We know that. If she ever gets out of her phase, she can come back to work. But for now, could you please gather her stuff from the locker?"
"Phase? What phase?"
"Her stepmom told us she had psychological issues, Mr. Price."
He never heard of it. Why didn’t his wife tell him before? He would have tried to be there for you. The midwife guided him to your locker, opening it for him so he could take your stuff out. His lips curved into a smile when he saw the pictures in the locker: one of your best friend and you at graduation (he missed it), a picture of you on your first day at work with pink scrubs, and a picture of him barely 20, holding you in his arms. You were so precious, such a little thing looking up to him. Dozens of pink scrubs, a calendar marked with vacation NYC and Taylor Swift concert. This didn’t look like a locker from someone who lost it.
--------------------
"Where is my daughter? Don’t bullshit me."
"I don’t know."
"Her boss said you told her she is mental."
"Well, she certainly is. She sleeps around with men your age."
"Do you know where the fuck she is or not? When was she last here?"
"Three months ago."
"Fuck it! My daughter is missing, and you only told me about it now?"
"She isn’t missing, John. She probably married some old fart and ran off."
"Shut the fuck up." He never screamed at his wife. His captain demeanor was always something he left at home, but you were missing, and no one told him. What if something happened? After three months, the traces were hard to find. "Fucking hell."
He walked away to the only place he could think you were. But when your best friend called him a deadbeat dad for only searching for his daughter after three months, he knew something must have happened to you.
---------------------------------
"Kate, please, anything will help."
"John, there is no trace of her. I'm sorry."
-----------------------
"We searched through every man she interacted with, Cap. She isn’t anywhere."
"She is there somewhere outside, Ghost."
----------------------------
"How many more innocent people will you kill, John? She is gone."
-----------------------------
"We should hold a wake for her."
"She is still alive, Kate."
"John, it’s been a year. You know the statistics."
"I won’t stop until I see her corpse."
--------------------------------
"Makarov will marry, holding a big public celebration and everything, invited us somehow."
"Why should I care if that bastard marries, Nick?"
------------------------
"We found your daughter, Captain."
"Where, Kyle?" He asked desperately. He never lost hope after searching for you for a whole year. He wasn’t the man he was before. He was rougher, he didn’t care about anything anymore. He divorced his wife, killed just to have you back.
"You won’t like it." Please don’t be dead. His eyes started to tear.
"Where?" He needed to take his little girl home, bury you properly, a thing he never thought he needed to do, bury his own daughter, but the world was cruel for people like him.
"Alive"Kyle placed some articles of a Russian gossip journal on his desk.
"'Princess of Russia'," John read aloud. "Vladimir Makarov's longtime love was seen shopping for her wedding dress suspiciously holding her belly. Already pregnant?"
"We can't wait for the wedding of the century," Kyle continued, pointing at the article. "From worker to billionaire spouse, she is living the Cinderella dream."
John's heart sank. He knew what this meant. His daughter, his little girl, was about to become a pawn in Makarov's twisted game. And he would do anything to stop it.
