#I feel like I'm only going to end up shipping this with moose

tarnished silver crown

decided to redesign tarnished to better fit the story I'm working on ^-^ honestly I'm pretty happy with how it turned out

more info dump rambling below,

OK so changes wise I turned him to a moose beasteal to better fit the story he's in and his role in it, I also made his eye more just look like another carved bit in his silver to show that it doesn't really work anymore compared to the gold eye that still mostly functions,

I also changed the silver bracelets to a leather band that holds his hook to his arm stump, and what's pretty much a wristwatch but with a compass instead, these two items are very important to him, both because they're gifts from his boyfriends, and the hook is the only hand prosthetic he can really make sense of, (he has no idea how to controll cybernetic limbs, they just don't really work for him)

He is also missing several teeth, both from fights and from scurvy, hook and compass still nag him about remembering to eat fruit so the scurvy incedents won't happen again (tarnished often forgets that he in fact does need to eat and will skip meals without really noticing if he isn't reminded)

I also changed the birth mark on his forehead, it used to be a swirl heart, just like the other royal family members, but over time and magic use the mark warped to more be a broken heart that's supposed to resemble harsh waves, using too much magic tends to warp the body, hence the marks changing, it also caused what is the object veriant of nerve damage in his hand and foot, the magic that animates objects doesn't fully flow properly for him anymore, making his hand and foot feel numb.

Also his mustache is a fake one, he just likes wearing it.

Tarnished crown is the captain of a pirate crew made of escapees and misfits that had nowhere else to go, and he tries to provide them with better lives with what he has, he's in the sort of robin hood pirate section, stealing and plundering from those who he deems already have too much in order to provide to those who actually need it,

Tarnished absolutely loves animals, having had several pets over the years, primarily mouser cats to keep the ship clean of Rodents that may spread disease, plus they help with stress,

Tarnished is obsessed with weaponry, he has several books on different types of weapons as well as quite the armory abored his ship, he's specifically interested in fusion weapons, like dagger guns, halberds, and bladed shields, he's also obsessed with boats, he's fascinated by the different builds and just how they work, also collecting books on different ship types, he absolutely loves when things are made with proper effort and good craftsmanship, looking like they have flare and personality while still funftioning practically, tarnished often ends up rambling on end about his interests to anyone who will listen,

Tarnished has a very hard time with certain mechanical technology and advancements, (he especially struggles when the digital age starts but that's a situation for about 200 to 300 years ahead)) mechanical prosthetics like the ones compass uses tend to confuse him when he tries to use them, he doesn't hate technology, he does think it's cool and is happy that certain things have become easeir for those around him, he just can't wrap his own head around it on his end.

Tarnished is very emotional and very blunt, often making him seem irrational or rude, when things feel overwhelming to him he can't hold back the tears, weather it's positive or negative, if it feels like too much he will get emotional, though he doesn't feel the need to hide it, he's set up a crew environment that's supportive and non judging, they won't be offended if he gets overwhelmed, just like he won't be offended if a crew member is overwhelmed and needs some time.

Tarnished is quick to jump to conclusions and stick with them, even if his conclusion is very wrong, once he's made up his mind it's hard for him to change it, which has led to unnecessary confrontations and wild goosechases.

(Sorry this is long and badly written! I just wanted to note down everything I have so far, very much still a wip but I got attached to my pirate guy, also I did steal a lot of my own traits and some of my dad's when it came to making him, such as the weird emotional situation and unnecessary urge to cry coming from me, and the boat obsession coming from my dad ^-^ ))

I get that that's what tabitha said but there's no denying these people aren't the same as before. They're alternate versions of themselves. If they had their memories back what would that even look like? They would still have these false memories of growing up in the 50s. It just seems strange that we'll never have an ending for the versions we followed for years

it's really not complicated. if they get their memories back, they'll remember their actual lives and what they genuinely lived in the 50s since arriving there. toni and cheryl especially have the exact same personalities, with the only difference being cheryl didn't have jason so she's not as traumatized. either way, you asked what the point of soulmates was and the point is that they would have ended up together if they stayed in the present and they found their way back together in the 50s and will spend their life together. and will do the same in the next, which none of the other ships can say.

there was an ending to almost everyone's stories. veronica found peace in being single, reggie finally earned her respect and got the casino, tabitha was gonna franchise pops and grow old with jughead, who was finding his groove as a writer again. archie learned he needed to let his hero complex go and betty found inner peace by looking after her mental health. cheryl found out that she's not destined to be alone, but to be with toni, and they will end up together. kevin found happiness with moose. toni was the only one that didn't get any kind of resolution since, as was par for the course all season, they gave her no perspective.

no, choni's ending wouldn't be satisfying as a series finale, which is why their s7 storyline is the only genuinely satisfying or continuous one. and hopefully they get their memories back to give them/toni the closure they deserve. so that we get more than knowing they would have gotten back together, and can actually hear toni admit her feelings and say she always loved her.

the point is, it doesn't really matter what you wish. we all wish they were going to go back to the present, but they're not going to. you're just gonna have to get over it. if you can't see the beauty in choni's storyline this season and how meaningful them being soulmates has been to their story, and can't appreciate that they're gonna be the only endgame of the main ships, i don't know what to tell you. but if you're looking for someone to be miserable with, it won't be me because i'm having a ball.

Breaking Walls (Part I)

(12x20/12x21)

Hello my friends! I'm here with another meta from season 12! This time I'll try to resume these two episodes pointing important subtext and foreshadows I found in them.

We/Us vs Only Dean

Resonating with the previous episode, the mixtape one. We will meet Tasha Banes and her son's Alicia and Max. And with them will come the difference between WE/US and I/ME.

First of all, we were fed with Dean Winchester's worries for Castiel.

The scene opens with a close up to Dean's hands. This focus on the hands will continue through the episode, related with my Quantum theory about Dabb's era, it talks about a foreshadow. And because is centered on the knuckles, is a foreshadow of Dean hitting on the door from the Burger Shop after praying to Chuck in 13x01. Linked to his worries for Castiel, opens the door for the incoming mourning for him.

Dean: That freaking baby isn't even born yet and it sock puppeted him. Think about it.

Is very meaningful Dean uses this word PUPPET here, to explain Castiel's odd behavior. But is also related to this episode: a witch killing people and constructing puppets she can command as she wishes. If this sounds particularly known by all of us, is because is a very smart Foreshadow for Chuck appearing in the ending of season 14 and the whole season 15. The puppet master.

This is what makes Dean feel so worried: CAS having faith in Lucifer jr. As Dean calls it. Is not good sign for him. And because he knows what CAS is willing to do when he is in soldier mode, when he has faith in something. He can give everything in exchange. He knows it. And he is worried because CAS is in danger now. And he can't understand how CAS is having faith in that nephilim he was trying to kill hours before. He needs to understand what's going on, Because Castiel's safety is in danger. And Cas' means everything to Dean.

SAM: I don't know. I mean, look, this doesn't make any sense to me either, Dean. But if we wanna have some shot at finding Cas, the we have to...I don’t know. Uh, try and think like him.

DEAN: How? Seriously...

He sounds desperate here. He knows exactly this is the first time he saw CAS like this. Again brainwashed? He is scared. Dean is afraid of losing CAS. He didn't recognize Castiel looking back at him. Because CAS had a new mission now. Cas had determination in his eyes. And the mission comes first.

Then, one phone rings, and is Max and Alicia. And the dialogue here will separate the therms WE from INDIVIDUAL again.

ALICIA: Yeah, sorry to um...Uh, Mary gave me a couple different numbers to reach her, and we thought –

Max loudly interrupts Alicia to make a point that this is not his idea.

MAX: No. No. Mnh-mnh.

Alicia looks exasperated.

ALICIA: I thought Mary would be down to help. Uh, be our backup on this, um...

The parallel with the Barnes brothers here is loud, not just the missing parent in a hunt, but the blatant difference between WE/US vs INDIVIDUAL (Alice and Dean).

Max doesn't want his sister use him as a shield for showing his worries. Just like Dean used Sam in the mixtape scene or when CAS arrived at the bunker.

After Sam accepts to help, Dean turns into worried boyfriend mode...

He is like: 'Come on Sam, didn't you heard all my worries? We have to find CAS! CAS CAS CAS!'

Then we have Dean calling Mary...

His face here is loud. He was thinking about Castiel being in danger since CAS left. I bet you he couldn't sleep neither. And he needs to talk with someone about this. But how he feels about this. Becay Sam ia confused but he keeps doing his job. Dean just can't go on if he can't rescue CAS from the 'evil child'.

The Foreshadows

Before jumping into the symbology of this episode, let's show another example of we/u vs me/I:

ALICIA: Well, then why didn't you call us? I mean we–

MAX: Ahem.

Sam and Dean look slightly uncomfortable.

ALICIA: I called and texted a lot.

TASHA: I'm sorry, baby. My phone hasn't been charging all day.

Is the difference between the amount of worrisome and the effort from the writers to point out that to us. To make it noticeable.

Now, let's go with Mary Winchester: there's this scene in which Mary discovers Mick's corpse and she uncovered his face. Is a sad foreshadow of Dean in episode 13x01 uncovering Castiel's face when he laid dead on the table.

Also the finding of the corpses ina dark place by Dean and Sam, was a foreshadow of dead and the Empty.

Then, Tasha attack Alicia and Max, as a foreshadow of Mary coming against her own boys.

But it caught my attention what Ketch says to Mary:

KETCH: But I can keep you safe. If you just play your part, if you play nice...

In an episode where we are talking about puppets Ketch asks Mary to play her part. And I just recalled the whole season 9 with Metatron and the repetitive quote: Everyone needs to play their role. As an attempt coming from the writer to control the story and the characters. This is very important because is anticipating Chuck's plot in season 15. Mary answers: 'I don't play nice' as a reflection of TFW.

When Alicia dies, the dialogue between Sam, Dean and Max is another example of loosing a brother/family and loosing the love of your life.

SAM: Hey, Max, um, this is, uh... Look, you – you're probably in shock right now, but it's gonna pass.

DEAN: And then it's gonna hurt.

They're talking from their places, they had lost many people in their lives, family. Wich is pointing too what we will be seeing at the beginning of season 13, the big difference with loosing the love of your life, incarnated I'm Dean mourning Castiel.

Eileen's death and Brainwashing

Just a few words about episode 12x21.

Is the episode in which Eileen dies, in a dark Forest. Saileen always had been a Destiel mirror and showed the path for our ship. So when Eileen dies, is talking about the lovers separation through death. Sam uncovering her face in the morgue, again, as a prelude of Dean doing the same with Castiel.

BMoL brainwashing Mary, and using her as a puppet against the boy, is slightly showing how Dean sees what's going on with CAS.

But is also a foreshadow of AUMichael!Dean.

Later in the episode, we have Crowley who was controlling Lucifer's vessel as a puppet too, but something goes wrong this time.

DREXEL: The ability to control is transferring from Crowley to you.

LUCIFER: So you're saying that Crowley's gonna be my puppet.

This could be showing two interesting Foreshadows: first, when AUMichael will take control over Dean's body and kidnap him in episode 13x23, and second, what will happen once Dean will lock Michael down in his head, taking full control of his own body.

Then, another parallel between CAS and Mick. Remember Samadriek saying he has too much heart and that was his problem? Okay...

TONI: Oh, Mick's dead.

SAM: He's dead?

TONI: Quite. It was determined he was too sentimental for the job.

So Mick also had too much heart...

To Conclude:

Dean is a mess of worries for CAS and it shows. He is afraid of loosing him this time for real.

There are foreshadows of Cas' death all over the episodes, preluding the finale.

There's also a lot of references to puppets, for the incoming plot of Chuck and Dean's possesion.

✨ random question time✨

What are some of your favorite "hidden gem" things? Can be a childhood tv show no one seems to talk about or a movie or book series etc

(As an example: as a kid/in the early 2000s, I really liked this 101 dalmatians tv show but I don't think it had too many seasons. They actually kind of rebooted it and it's cute.)

I can't believe I've only just seen this! I'm sorry 😬

One of my all-time favourite tv shows is Northern Exposure, which I grew up watching. I have only ever met one person, outside of my parents, who has seen it too. So I am talking obscure, especially here, across the pond.

It came out around five years before I was born, started my lifelong obsession with moose, has a soundtrack which haunts me to this day, taught me about Native Americans and Judaism, had the first gay relationship I saw on television, and made me long for such a small, close-knit community of eccentric characters to settle down with.

It revolves around a Jewish-American doctor (Joel) from New York who has to practice in Alaska, which paid for his university bills. He is sent to the remote town of Cicely to practice medicine - a classic fish-out-of-water narrative. It's like Twin Peaks, without the murder, but plenty of spiritualism and oddities amongst the townsfolk.

My otp is Joel x Maggie, whom I adore (see below). She's an outgoing, confident pilot (also his landlord). He's a self-conscious, nervous wreck of a doctor who was made for the city - not Alaska. His hair is also longer than hers.

I also love Shelly x Holling. Some people find the age difference mind boggling, but I think their relationship has something pure to it.

To this day it is the show I watch when I feel sick or sad, the soundtrack I listen to when I want to reminisce about my childhood. I love Northern Exposure.

I wish more people knew about it.

Victorious- Tori, Jade and Beck

I've seen some posts talking about the characters of each of them and their relationships with each other so i thought id make one. Also

Spoilers

Tori

Her character is questionable. From the start, a lot of the things she did was shady, like kissing Beck in front of Jade for revenge in the pilot ep and using the day Jade was going to have a play to throw a prom. In the second example, even though Tori's prom is ruined by Jade a bit, it still turns out okay, Jade's night ends badly and Tori is still portrayed as the "Good Guy".

Her singing is kind of mediocre and less unique compared to Jade's, Cat's or Andre's. She has had her moments such as in the episode Three Girls and a Moose, her singing at the end is pretty good. However, this is entirely subjective so this isn't really a big point. Also, my opinion on this is not hating on victoria justice at all, I've seen videos of her singing (outside of victorious) and she can sing really well.

She is a little bit incompetent sometimes such as not knowing what some stuff is such as stage fighting or an understudy, sucking Rex into the tornado machine, and others. This is normal and excusable though because Victorious is a comedy and she's the main character, and she's supposed to make mistakes and learn from them. Also I guess she doesn't know some acting stuff because near the start she was portrayed as some person who's new to the school and a little out of place compared to the others (but like I said, this was near the start).

Jade

Her being mean and rude to Tori is part of her character (esp near the beginning of the show) so it's not really an issue with her. Also, sometimes even if disliking Tori wasn't part of her character, it's justifiable because Tori also did some messed up stuff (kissing beck, arranging a prom on the day of her play, etc).

She has done some stuff that even for her character is a little shady, like stealing the bag of blood Tori donated. She's also partly to blame for the toxicity of Bade but more on that later.

Her singing is great. I love her. 10/10

Beck

He's generally a pretty good guy. He's nice to his friends and helps them out. Sometimes he was a little shady such as when in the pilot he didn't stop Tori from kissing him in front of the class and willingly kissed her. He also didn't consider what Jade would feel when he was about to kiss Tori in the episode "Tori Goes Platinum: Part 2". This and other things was him not acknowledging Jade's feelings in/ about their relationship but again, more on that later.

Beck's character isn't really well developed. If you take a look at all the other characters, they generally have something unique about them.

Robbie is unique and great at ventriloquism. Cat's personality is special and different and she's really cute. Andre is amazing at songwriting and playing instruments. He's also a really good friend to everyone in the gang. Jade loves scissors and is the classic frenemy to Tori, and she's also the dark and brooding type. Even Tori, who is sometimes viewed as bland and boring, is the classic main character who's a little dorky but tries her best. Beck just isn't a well-developed character.

Now it's time for the ships.

Bade (Beck x Jade)

I never really shipped it. It was okay at first and they seemed like a good match because Jade is the only girl (apart from the gang) who actually has a mind of her own when it comes to Beck and Beck is the only guy who isn't afraid of Jade.

However, it's pretty toxic, and it's both of their faults.

Jade gets jealous and angry at Beck easily, and doesn't give him a chance to explain. This is seen very clearly in the episode Wi-Fi in the Sky, where Jade doesn't give Beck a chance to explain thay his cheerleader neighbour is a nine year old girl and immediately jumps to conclusions.

Beck does nothing to try to ease Jade's mind, ever. He just tells her she's overreacting and gets mad at her for not trusting him. Whenever girls flirt with him, he does nothing to stop it, doesn't tell them he has a girlfriend and just talks to them as if they're not throwing themselves at him. He probably knows that this makes Jade jealous and insecure but still does it.

I really don't think Bade should've gotten back together.

Bori (Beck x Tori)

I don't really have a strong opinion about Bori. I guess they'd be okay together, and their relationship would be healthy-ish (healthier than Bade). I don't ship it, but I'm also not heavily against it.

It would be kind of shady if it happened because as Tori pointed out, she wouldn't want to do that to Jade.

Castiel peered around the restaurant, tensing in his trenchcoat as he waited for his unpunctual date, Balthazar.

He sighed, gulping down his third milkshake. Balthazar was never on time, but he also didn't show up later than 2 hours, especially on date night.

The waitress, an energetic red head, looked at Castiel in pity, "Would you like to switch to a stronger drink dude?"

"Yes please, I'll take wine."

"Wine?" Charlie snorted,"Honey I'm getting you a whiskey." said Charlie, the name on her nametag.

Castiel didn't plan on getting drunk tonight, but he also didn't plan on getting stood up by Balthazar. So simply fuck it.

Castiel fiddled with his hands, 6 missed calls. 6 times he tried to call Balthazar, but he was probably at some club getting drunk, nothing new there.

But he would come, right? Castiel glanced at his watch. The people were looking at him like he was an abandoned puppy, he probably did look like one at this point.

Gabriel often asked why he still was with Balthazar, and truthfully Castiel didn't know.

He was sure he didn't like him very much, but something wouldn't let him leave. Maybe it was Balthazar's nonexistent charm. Or the fact that he was Castiel's first. First as in boyfriend, he would NOT lose his virginity Balthazar. Castiel had standards.

Castiel sighed in relief as he saw Balthazar's face pop up on his screen. He was probably calling to tell him that he was late or something.

"Hello? Cassie?" Balthazar said slurring his words. Castiel could hear the ALCOHOL in his system.

"Yes Balthazar, you know we had a date tonight?" Castiel said trying to keep the anger out of his voice.

"Sorry Cassie."

The call ended and Castiel could feel tears start to form. He brushed them away angrily as he saw Charlie.

Charlie approached his table, balancing his whiskey, in a concerningly large glass.

"Largest glass we had. Drink up."

Castiel mumbled a thanks as Charlie set down his drink.

Castiel drank the whiskey in one swing. Charlie stared at him in awe,"And I though I was having a rough day." She said laughing.

Castiel gave her a small smile and then she returned to attend to the bustling hotel.

He couldn't stand the looks anymore, people were starting to whisper. Castiel got ready to stand up. He took out his phone to Gabriel, the only person he could rely on these days, when a gorgeous man came out of nowhere and proceeded to sit across from Castiel.

He said loudly enough for everyone to hear," Sorry I'm late babe, traffic was a bitch." The man leaned in like he was going to kiss Castiel, but instead he said, "My name's Dean, who ever didn't show up fucking sucks, play along alright?"

Castiel nodded still surprised at how good looking the man was. He had sandy hair, short and spiked. His skin was tan, but not tan enough to hide his freckles, which Castiel would have LOVED to count. The man's lips were plump and pink, Castiel had to tear his eyes away. Dean's eyes were so green, Castiel was afraid he couldn't look away, but he blinked, blushing at how shamelessly he drooled over a stranger. A fucking hot stranger, his mind added.

Castiel pulled his sleeves down looking up at the man shyly,"My name's Castiel and thank you, you really didn't have to do this."

The man grinned, "No problem, rather be here than with my lame-ass brother anyway."

Castiel smiled, he could relate to annoying siblings.

They talked for the rest of the night about nearly everything. From Dean's car and pie obsession to Castiel's tattoos and siblings

Charlie came by multiple times saying that she shipped it.

She also claimed to want to be invited to the wedding.

Dean choked on his pie and Castiel nearly fell out of his chair, both men blushing scarlet.

Balthazar showed up 2 hours later, and Dean dumped his own whiskey on Balthazar.

Castiel didn't protest.

The entire restaurant started clapping while Dean smirked and gave them a mock bow.

And for the first time, Castiel didn't have to pay for the dinner.

Soon Dean's brother came over and immediately started to talk about his college and Castiel listened graciously giving him some pointers.

Sam was a 6"4 long haired giant with the personality of a puppy. Dean shuffled him out of the restaurant, mumbling something about men stealing mooses.

When the night had ended, Dean said.

"Hey Cas? Do you want to uh get coffee or something tomorrow?"

Castiel grinned,"I would love to."

This may seem like an odd question, but how do you think destiel originated in the narrative? Was it always written in? Or do you think it was the chemistry between misha and jensen that instigated it? (Or maybe some other reason...?) I'm kind of curious how Jensen, a seriously good actor, would let the "eyesex" we see just happen accidentally... There had to be some level of intentionality in the early seasons, right? Idk, im sure there's a lot we cant know there, but im curious what you think

Hi there! And first off, I think I need to stamp a big flashing disclaimer label at the top of this one, because I see a lot of well-intentioned but often cringingly misinformed or outright stabs in the dark or assumptions presented as “obvious fact,” and heck... 

I am not affiliated with the staff of the show. I don’t know what the inside of any of the writers’ or showrunners’ heads look like, you know? All I know is what I’ve heard from their own mouths over the years, which I’ve tried to piece together logically. I’m not here to present this as some sort of “document of absolute, unassailable fact,” but “this is what logic would lead me to believe personally.”

But there are some important facts to bear in mind while asking oneself how destiel came to be, and how (and why) it evolved.

First off, there’s this assumption which is arguably incorrect that Kripke began Supernatural from the pilot episode with some Grand Vision of a complete five season arc. And he himself has made numerous statements invalidating that belief. We know for a fact that his “original vision” for the show boiled down to “star wars in truck stop america” where two plucky ghost hunters drove around confronting urban legends and myths that were real in their universe. I mean, just look at the first half of s1. It’s all MotW style episodes that lay out the groundwork of the universe’s mythology.

At the start of the series, Demons were so far above the Winchesters’ pay grade, and Kripke joked about how he would never introduce Angels as part of that universe. It was a running theme in the writers’ room from the start of the series. No angels.

And then the writers’ strike happened, leaving them with a truncated s3 and no room to write themselves out of the corner they’d backed themselves into. Dean landed in Hell, and Kripke relented, with “okay, angels, but only if they’re dicks.”

I think it was likely only part of the way into s4 where Kripke stopped fearing that they might or might not get a renewal for s5 when he set about the whole Apocalypse Arc, with 5.22 as a theoretical end of the series. He has said this himself, that it was Misha joining the show that finally gave him a little breathing room to plan for the future of the series in this way.

And remember also that Misha was originally only scripted and contracted to appear in three episodes. At the beginning of s4, even Kripke hadn’t planned out the fate of his universe beyond that.

So while viewers saw 4.01 and the barn scene and immediately began shipping the thing, because that’s what shippers do, I don’t believe that Castiel was (even in Kripke’s wildest imagination) scripted to take on such a large role in canon.

So while Shipper Zero (waves hi at @k-vichan) was already making a case for destiel, Kripke was still focused on making the ratings to even THINK about planning a two season arc to stop the apocalypse. It just so happened that Castiel-- a character that Kripke had never intended to write (NO ANGELS!)-- became the hook on which his vision for the theoretical end run of his little series hung.

From his first appearance, it was clear that Castiel’s closest tie was with Dean. He pulled Dean out of Hell, and as we see unfold over the course of s4, Cas had been charged by Heaven to essentially shepherd Dean through all the necessary paces to make sure that Heaven’s will was served. Even Cas had been misled on what Heaven’s true objectives were, leading to that HUGE moment in 4.22 where Cas was forced to choose a side, and because of Dean’s influence, he rejected Heaven and chose Humanity.

Now, I don’t believe that was written as some sort of great romantic gesture, you know? Because we all know that despite what Dean and Cas struggle through together over the rest of s5, Cas’s duty returns to Heaven as soon as the apocalypse is thwarted. If Kripke’s “original vision” for the end of s5 had stood as the series end, that would’ve been the last time that Dean ever saw Cas. So... not exactly the stuff of shipper dreams, you know?

But Kripke passed the reins to Sera Gamble and s6 marched onward. The intent was to write Castiel out permanently, and thanks to Ben Edlund and 6.20 for giving Cas a voice before his inevitable demise, we end up with this bit of canonical personal betrayal and heartbreak between Dean and Cas.

Granted, going in to s6, Gamble was planning for and writing a single season arc, because she no longer had that assumption of continuing past s6. I think a lot of the romantic tropey stuff in s6 only slipped in because there was the belief at the time that a) Castiel wasn’t intended to survive the season and this is all swell but it’s never going to amount to anything but Manpain for Dean, and b) there was no guarantee they’d even be picked up for s7 to have to deal with the consequences of these choices anyway.

but then... whoopsie... they had s7 to deal with. Including spiraling ratings. By 7.17 when Cas miraculously came back, I think they’d sort of written themselves into this particular corner. Yeah, choices were made in how Cas’s return happened, but after 15 episodes of Dean mourning Cas (and Bobby, and pretty much everything else in his life up to and including Sam by 7.17), the one thing he got back first was Cas. And Cas was the key to beginning to rebuild Dean’s entire life, starting with Sam. And yet... in the same breath Cas returned Sam to him, Cas also disappeared into his own head. He was RIGHT THERE, but he had nothing else to give to Dean right then. All of that led into the buildup to s8, and I think that was really the point at which the narrative began treating Dean and Cas’s relationship as something different, and something more serious.

I’ve been watching early s8 for the last two days, and here’s a little snippet from my angst-ridden chat with lizbob this morning:

And their issues went from being a sort of sidebar to the actual narrative structure of the series and became inextricably linked with the larger narrative.

So, fun as it is to go back through the entire series and look for all the destiel along the way, I think that’s most likely when it became a factor that drove the plot, rather than something secondary to the main plot, at least from a structural perspective.

And now, after s13 and going into s14, their relationship and feelings toward one another have become foundational to the actual cosmic structure in their universe. Dean’s grief was powerful enough for Jack to ride across dimensions into the Empty, where even God was unable to tread? Yeah, that’s cosmic. And now Cas is in a similar position dealing with a cosmic, interdimensional dilemma focused on Dean. I mean... it’s literally the foundation of the narrative structure of s13 and s14. Not only are the writers taking their relationship seriously, they’re using it to support the rest of the narrative.

I think this is kinda what you asked, at least? I’ve been typing for a really long time now. D:

I wasn’t fearless when I posted my first SI, I was terrified that people would hate me and my writing and pick on Akira.

But they didn’t, and I was blown away.

Sure some people might get annoyed with you, I know that some people get annoyed with me and I have the reviews to prove it. But chances are, as long as you put an effort into what you are writing, the people that enjoy it will out weigh the people that are annoyed by it.

And, God, are the reviews you get from people that genuinely enjoy your work so rewarding. Like, I cannot express how much each thoughtful review or even just a ‘i enjoyed this keep up the good work!’ means to me. It makes me want to keep writing, it inspires me to do better. It makes me want to become a better writer for my readers and the growth I’ve experienced as a writer since posting my first WIP fic is amazing.

I learned not to care about who gets annoyed by my fanfiction after a fic of mine got roasted when I was 14. It was hard, but I learned that you can’t please everyone and though I took the fic down that lesson stayed with me. When I posted As the Wind Blows, I was taking on my first long fic endeavor ever. I had only written oneshots and half written stories that I trashed before that. As the Wind Blows was the first story that I was wanted to commit too and I didn’t know if I could do it.

But here we are, over a year later and I’m still going at it. My notes are almost complete, all I have to do is write the ending for shippuden and then I’ll have everything planned out. It’s an amazing feeling to know that you’ve committed to something that you started over a year ago and have finished the final stages of planning.

Basically, what I’m saying is that readers can be a tremendous source of inspiration and I think that every writer deserves them. There will always be people who don’t like what you’ve written or who don’t like where you took the story but the people that do enjoy your work will always, in my experience, outweigh them by far.

Also you should write for your enjoyment first and others second but idk whatever works for you.

-This sort of thing intimidated some people, but it never pierced through you. 

-Instead you often made quick, sassy comebacks at Draco when he threw an insult your way.

-And this is what intrigued Draco the most about you. In fact, he was intimidated by you for not being affected by any insult ever.

-Not only was he intimidated by you, but somewhere through the years he ended up falling in love with you. His favorite features about you were obviously your fierce personality, but he also loved your beautiful brown hair and eyes.

-Often he would find himself staring at you from across the room completely perplexed from just your look alone. 

-One day though Draco threw a nasty insult at you in an attempt of terrible flirting.

-However, he wasn’t expecting you to turn run the opposite way crying. 

-Instead of standing there watching you run off, he ran after you in a hurry worried that he screwed up any chance with you.

-When he caught up to you he grabbed your arm and whispered, “Julia, tell me what made you so upset please. I’m sorry usually you just throw an insult back.”

-This made your breath catch. Did Draco Malfoy really just apologize?

-”Draco it’s nothing please just go away I’ll be fine later.”

-Draco refused to let you walk away though, at least not before you confided in him.

-After about 10 minutes of bickering back and forth you gave into him, and told him all about the accident.

-Draco was taken aback, he never knew what had happened to you, and was very upset to learn about it.

-All he could do was hold you tight into his chest, and while he held you he confided in his anxiety over his family and being the perfect son for a cause he wasn’t sure he supported. 

-After your heartfelt moment Draco looked deep into your brown eyes and kissed you surprising every ounce of your being.

-The kiss was everything you needed to feel better, and soon your hands were entangled into his pale hair never wanting that moment to end.

1) Overall: Did you like TLR or ELR better? I'm leaning towards TLR... sure, because of the space and time confines of the plot it was much easier to have all the characters interact, but that's just what i was missing in ELR. When they went "We know it's you because everyone else is dead" I honestly had to pause and figure out if i remembered everyone dying, not even because they died so early on but because it hardly felt like anybody got to do much of anything. I mean, did Geoff do anything?

2) Where the hell was Ryan for most of it?? The greatest things about ELR were most people being bi and, of course, Elyse, but the plot felt convoluted and the ending was lazy... maybe i'm experiencing some form of nostalgia but to me TLR just seemed much better contained and planned out. How bout you?

i liked elr a lot, and it feels difficult to compare them since they’re of vastly different genres and scopes, but.

as a writer and a fic author -- because really, we have to look at elr/tlr as fic; they’re just au fic that josh wrote about his friends -- i can say that the problem with elr was that josh didn’t want to kill any of his darlings. not onscreen, i mean obviously, but he had too many concepts going on that could have been trimmed significantly. i mean, this was a roster of 24 (including non-combatants), and 18 roosters themselves. had they had 12 roosters, each with a noncombatant or two that exited the show after their rooster was killed, i feel like it could have worked better. i can tell josh wanted more teams, which worked against the 12 agents so the 12 agencies were born, but, for instance, moose and knuckle should have been one character, a noncombatant working outside the core. the griffon should have been wah’s rep, with geoff as her noncombatant teammate (since, really, that’s what he was). ryan should have either been given a more significant onscreen role or been cut entirely (i know, who the fuck am i). madam mariel with her noncombatant teammates. on and on and on.

the biggest problem with elr was that josh had too many ideas, with too many characters and locations to juggle, and he set it up in such a way that the only time those characters really interacted were when one was about to kill the other. had he reduced the cast and scope, i think it would have worked out much better.

that’s not even accounting for the ending, which was not only lazy and ableist but was just not very good writing. the twist didn’t have the setup it needed and so it felt like it came out of left field so josh could make a fight club reference and a shipping joke. and tbh i didn’t see it coming -- couldn’t figure out who -- because the mole’s character development and supporting cast seemed to indicate he would be the one to survive to the end, so i suppose props to josh for turning that assumption on its head, but not in the best way he could have. 

like i said! i liked it a lot, but just looking at it from a writer’s perspective, there was a lot that josh needed to have done differently.

We all know Choni is endgame, but I'm curious who else you think is going to be endgame?

right now, after the s6 finale, i will be surprised if the endgames aren't cheryl/toni, jughead/tabitha and betty/archie. kevin's endgame can go either way, but i'm pulling for moose, leaving fangs to join reggie and veronica in the singles club. now, i'll be the first to remind people that with riverdale things can change and plots/motivations can be dropped from episode to episode, so anything is possible with the straights until the very end, but right now, i just don't see how it would happen from where we are and what's transpired over the last two seasons.

if archie/veronica and especially betty/jughead are endgame, it's something the writers haven't decided on yet because let's be real, from the very beginning, the straights have always been prioritized over choni, and yet choni got a pretty epic endgame set up in the finale - complete with a sex scene and them being made canon soulmates - but not them? it just isn't ras' style, lbr. the way i see it is that choni got their big reunion set up the way they did because they're going to be the only reunion.

there's also the fact that no other option has been set up for tabitha, and after their public lashings for their racism in the summer of 2020, they've made it very clear that they know they have little room for error with how tabitha is treated. while they've still left a lot to be desired with how they write toni, they've done a far better job with tabitha, and there's no way they don't know how awful it would look for them to build her relationship with jughead up for multiple seasons only to have him end up with betty at the last minute and leave her single. i just do not see it happening at all. so imo, that and just how they’ve been written vs the other exes, betty/jughead is the least likely to be endgame of the four main straight ship options, which i never would have guessed back at the beginning of s5, but here we are.

i think that veronica/archie have a slightly better chance because i do think the infamous triangle will be played into a little in the 50s, but in order for them to be endgame, it would leave betty to either end up with jughead (which i already said i find very unlikely) or single, and there hasn't been any set up for betty's happy ending being single, whereas there has been a lot for veronica. and they've also had veronica and archie try again and had them find that they're incompatible. regardless of how you feel about how much sense that made, they did that for a reason. and the fact that they had veronica struggle with being single and end the season ready to embrace it, makes me think that's going to be her arc when we get back to the present, and her ending will be fully embracing it.

not to mention that both betty/archie and jughead/tabitha were solid throughout s6. sure, there were things to nitpick here or there for antis, but riverdale is not a subtle show, and looking at the complaints objectively, the things being nitpicked were clearly not meant to show cracks or reflect badly on the relationships. and again, if they were planning on the other ships being endgame, i would think they'd have set up reasons for why the current relationships don't work the way they did with toni/fangs throughout the season, not to mention set up the reunions like they did with choni. the fact that so many shippers are counting on s6 being an alternate universe and completely erased from continuity so we go back to 517 before the other ships ever happened kind of shows that they realize this, too. and despite what some people think, the comet and the 50s did not do that.

so yeah. my opinion could change once s7 starts airing and things look different, but based on how this last season played out, my money is on cheryl/toni, jughead/tabitha and betty/archie, in order of certainty. and hoping for kevin/moose.

Hello my dears! I should add by death in the title, but according to the actual events in the show... I'm too emotional hehehee.

I will talk here about the amount of clues and foreshadow the writers were spreading all over the episodes, in which we will see Castiel's death and Dean's mourning for him.

The ship is gonna wreck

First picture we get is a woman dressed in blue pijamas, that dies. Another blue dressed victim that dies as a foreshadow of Castiel's death.

This episode talks about The Star, the ship that wrecked and sinked. And in the meantime, two lovers were separated by special circumstances.

The tragic love story is about Gavin McLoad and Fiona Duncan. They were destined to be together for the eternity once the ship sunk, but Gavin didn't board that ship, because Abaddon stopped him and dragged him to our times. So, Fiona became an avengeful ghost, pining for her lost love. Is a representation of the Destiel tragedy we will live at the end of the season.

The Locket and The Mixtape

The Locket was a gift Gavin gave to Fiona as a proof of his love.

GAVIN: I bought it myself. It was a gift for my Fiona.

ROWENA: Darlin', you had a wee girlfriend?

DEAN: Look at this. Added to the exhibit six months ago.

GAVIN: Fiona Duncan, the love of my life. When she found out I was going to America, nothing would do but I take her with me. I told her it was too dangerous.

Fiona would follow Gavin to the end of the world, just like Cas always manifest to Dean.

That gift, the Locket, was Gavin's way to say I LOVE YOU to Fiona, to give a tangible representation to their union, a commitment. To show her how much she meant to him. Is the perfect parallel for the Destiel mixtape. Because it was Dean's way to show Cas how important he is for him. Important not in a platonic way, because the meaning of the mixtape. When Gavin says 'I bought it myself' is remarking the intimate dedication he took by doing it, because the first was for the love of his life. Is the same with the mixtape, because DEAN MADE THE MIXTAPE HIMSELF THINKING ABOUT CAS. The intimacy of taking his time to choose the perfect songs that could apply to his feelings, to show Cas He loved him too. As a shy, not so committed answer, to that 'I love you' Cas said to him.

Living with the doubt if Cas had said those words platonically or not, Dean Winchester is not prepared yet to answer with his own words, so, he makes a mixtape for the love of his life.

The Separation and the Reunion

There's a scene with two teachers, Karen and

Elizabeth, drinking wine and having a good time inside the Pembroke School for Girls.

Elizabeth stands up and go inside a dark room searching for wine, leaving Karen behind. The dark room represents the Empty, and Elizabeth is Castiel, and she got stabbed in the back, just like our Angel.

Now, there's another beautiful scene, in wich Gavin calls Fiona through his words, reminding us to a prayer.

GAVIN: "O restless spirit, make thy presence known to me. Fiona? It is I, Gavin. Your Gavin. I must speak with you.

After this, Fiona makes her appearance, and finally, the lovers found each other and remained together to the end of times.

GAVIN: I...was thinking the same thing. I loved her. She loved me. That's the only reason any of this happened. I can spare her the nightmare she's trapped in. I cannae say I ever fit here. Here, I'm alone. Fiona and me, we'll spend eternity together.

What a perfect Castiel mirror in these last words, Cas said this season he still felt put of place. The last quote 'we'll spend eternity together' just gives me clues about my spec for a Destiel endgame, sharing vessel.

The Raid: about Dean's improvement and Sam future leadership

Just a few words about episode 12x14. Putting to a side the mommy issues, the episode divided the brothers joining them with their destinies.

Ketch, the killer, tried to bond with Dean, considering Dean was a killer too. But the difference between them was Dean's compassion.

Sam, Mick and Mary were trapped on the BMoL building, and were attacked by vampires, and Sam was the leader, giving orders and organizing the hunter and the MoL. As a foreshadow of the incoming battle between american hunter's and BMoL, and as a prelude of his role as a leader in season 14.

The image of monsters trying to hunt hunter's, is a futurist picture of AUMichael releasing his monsters army against humans in season 14.

To Conclude:

Gavin and Fiona love story is a Destiel mirror. The symbolism of the wrecked and sunken ship is another prelude to the lovers separation by death.

Hopefully, the lovers found each other at the end, to be together for the eternity.

Hello my friends! Here I'm with another meta from this series.

This time I'm gonna share with you something I discovered in this early season.

Episode 10x05 Fan Fiction was dedicated to the fans. We can see a lot of fan service, (the quote "We have work to do" as the Winchester loved cliche, but it also connects with season 15, in which we heard it again, delivering us a huge parallel with what is going on in the last season, I will talk later of this) but also, we can see Dean's reaction to the ships.

Her is Dean and the audience (mostly GA) who don't see subtext or ships, but is Rejecting it right away. Because they're brothers. And is disgusting to think they're searching for something else between them, so... Dean requested them to get away from each other.

A different reaction we can see I'm Dean )or may I say Jensen?) When Marie suggests DESTIEL ship, and explains the subtext to him.

He doesn't asked to be apart, and one little detail, the two girls were dating in real life (winking at Cockles shippers).

And the precious relevance to SUBTEXT in the show, when we are talking about Dean and Cas.

Dean will end by accepting it, and embracing it...

DEAN : Yeah, that'd have been easier. I know I have expressed some differences of opinion, regarding this particular version of Supernatural. But tonight, it is all about Marie's vision. This is Marie's Supernatural. So, I want you to get out there, and I want you to stand as close as she wants you to, and I want you to put as much sub and add text, as you possibly can. There is no other road. No other way. No day, but today.

Marie's supernatural, the Fan's Supernatural, it transport me to Becky in episode 15x04. Writing her own ending and her own stories...

Marie, not accepting the end Chuck had written, she chooses to write her own ending. And that's, what I think, the huge parallel with season 15.

The Winchesters, TFW 2.0, can write their own ending. Their own destiny.

But don't forget this is a Destiel Meta, and I can't avoid the fact that while Dean was talking about subtext here, he was putting Castiel's tie upside down. That's very meaningful because... Dean knows how Cas wears his tie... And is something he had payed attention... Is part of his Castiel, and maybe something he find adorable on him.

Yes... Subtext...

Another quote that brings us to season 15 is the two girls acting like Sam and Dean, saying...

SIOBHAN!DEAN : You're right, Sammy. Out on the road. Just the two of us.

MARIE!SAM : The two of us against the world.

First episode in season 15, Dean said the same quote. So, there's a tight recalling to this episode, in which Chuck appears at the end too.

The message is... We write our own destiny and ending.

Jealous and Revenge

Now... We all laughed with this scene...

But what this means...?

If you recall the last episode from this season... Sam and Cas team up and Dean didn't know it. They were cheating on Dean. Sastiel and Destiel.

This is not the only clue among the season, and you will discover it with me though these metas.

But now... I want to talk about Castiel's speech from my previous meta : THERE'S A FEMALE ON MY CAR and Dean's puzzled and frowned face... Jealous.

Because... What happened at the beginning of episode 10x07, Girls, Girls, Girls... It has to do with that.

What I call REVENGE from Dean Winchesters feeling himself abandoned and deceived, and cheated by Castiel... Was he with a woman in his car??? What about me? Does he changed me for her?

So... Very OOC... Dean Winchester tried to hook up with a date app...

SAM: Shaylene, huh?

Dean, there are like a million messages here.

DEAN: Yeah, uh, check out her pic.

SAM: Uh...Oh. Wow. Okay.

[Camera view of phone shows a beautiful woman with dark hair in a blue dress]

Um, okay. She's hot. But...

DEAN: "But," what?

SAM: But she seems, um... Kind of...available. Like too available. "Oh, baby, whatever you want. I'm burning up just thinking about you."

Okay, if you rewatch the whole scene, Sam is mocking him, because is clear here Dean doesn't use to do this. Dean doesn't use date apps to get a woman. Then, why is he doing this?

Because he is acting now like a jiltter lover (oh, wait... Is another parallel with Human!Cas in episode 9x06 😏)

And because the subtext has to be well constructed here, it jumps to Cas and Hannah (the female in Castiel's car) doing this...

Is she "Kind of avaible. Like too avaible?"

Yes she is...

And because this season we will talk about romantic betrayal (CAS cheating on Dean with Hannah and Sam) we have a foreshadow with Hannah's vessel and the husband.

And Castiel excusing Hannah's behavior... Because...

The mission comes first DEAN WINCHESTER COMES FIRST, will echoing one of the quotes by the end of the season in which Sam, Cas and Charlie will do anything to save him from the mark, even if that means not telling him (cheating on him) FOR DEAN.

To Conclude:

Episode 5x05 brings us to season 15 and Chuck's drama. TFW must learn they can write their own destiny and ending.

Dean using a dates app is so ooc that hurts, but it has his cause on Castiel's female in his car, so Dean is absolutely acting like a jitter lover.

Foreshadowing too the Sastiel team, hiding Dean his plans to save him.
