The caller ID flashing on your dashboard display makes you groan. What the hell is Sam calling for? He should be patiently waiting at the venue.
You know even before you answer what the issue is. It's the same as it always is. It can never be about anyone but him.
"Wilson," you answer matter-of-factly, "I know I'm not late."
"Never are," he confirms. "It's not you."
"Oh, I know," you put your blinker on and check the traffic behind you, "you're really going to make me pull a U-ey."
"I know, I'm sorry. Again."
"You know, I never had another job where I had to make sure my co-workers got their asses out of bed," you spin the wheel and your tires squeal on the tarmac.
"Co-workers... dang, I thought we were more than that." You can hear his pout through the phone.
"Me and you, maybe," you drone.
"Hey, he's been trying," he argues.
"Yeah, I know. You think I don't try, Wilson?"
"Look, I'll make it up to you."
"You say that a lot," you shake your head at the road.
"Look, I gotta go. It's my big day," he intones.
"Please, do. Stop worrying about the old man." You insist. "Might not be in the job description, but I'll get it done. As always. See ya soon."
"See ya." He hangs up and your music comes back on. Not for long. You idle at a light and dial out another call.
Bucky's name flashes as you wait for a pick up. Of course, he can't be bothered. On this day of all. You sigh and try two more times as you get closer to his place. Nothing.
You get out and nearly trip out of the strappy heels. Wilson owes you indeed, for more than the personal house call. You teeter up over the curb and grab onto the railing. You climb the concrete steps and pound on the front door of the townhouse.
"Barnes," you holler through. "I know you didn't forget."
You hammer again. You only stop when your fist throbs. You shake out your hands and huff. You stomp and feel the skinny heel bend dangerously. Fuck.
You don't got the tech on you to unlock the keypad, looks like the old-fashioned way will do. You shift your clutch and pull out your nail file. Bastard. You better not break a nail for his reclusive ass.
You go around back and use the file to latch the kitchen window. You know Bucky is his own security but he really should get a proper alarm. You punch the screen in and grab the frame. You haul yourself into your waist and balance there, the ledge pressing on your stomach. The smell of coffee greets you in a bold waft.
You look up as Bucky leans his vibranium palm on the counter and watches you. You snarl and reach out. "A little help?"
He keeps his coffee to his lips and nears, grabbing your forearm to leverage you inside. Your knees touch the counter and you kneel there as you catch your breath. He lets go, watching you over the brim.
"You coulda knocked," he says.
"I did," you slip your legs out from under you. "Loud."
"I was in the shower."
"Great, at least you got that done," you chide.
"Coffee?" He offers as he points to the french press.
"Barnes," you warn with a point. "Please."
You stare at him. He's in a pair of sweats and a tee shirt. His slippers are the sort of plaid that you find in a nursing home. You hold back a growl.
"You know what today is."
"I don't think I should go," he grumbles.
"Are you serious? Don't be a sour puss--" A sudden white flash lands beside you and the rattling purr rumbles against your leg. You pause to pet Alpine as if she heard you deriding her breed. "Not you," you assure her.
"I don't want to ruin it--"
"Barnes, you can put a suit on and sit pretty," you push off the counter and your ankles turn to noodles as you barely keep from a sprain. "Look at me, all dressed up like a prize pig, so go put an apple in your mouth."
He rolls his eyes, "he doesn't need me--"
"Bull," you interject.
You march past him. This is how it is. You can deal with it on missions. That's just how it goes. Most men you work with are obstinate to the point of being another adversary on their own. But outside the job, it's a bit too much.
You go down the hall and slow. It takes a moment to get your bearings. You've never been much further than the front door. You ignore the clutter across the front room floor and charge upstairs.
"Hey, what're you doing?" Bucky stands at the bottom as you stomp up.
You don't answer him. You go into his bedroom. You stop and look around. The bed is made, possibly unslept in. The room doesn't look used much at all. You go to his closet and slide the door open. You find a pair of slacks and a jacket. Tie, shirt, all presentable enough.
He appears in the doorway. You lay everything on the bed.
"Get dressed," you demand.
"I'll call Sam--"
"No, Wilson is busy. It's his day. You wanna know how you're going to ruin it?" You approach him and cross your arms. "By going AWOL. Not today, Barnes. Now, get yourself together."
You strut out and shut the door. You stop outside and call through. "Five minutes."
You continues down to the stairs and idle there. You check your phone. You can make it. Easy. He just needs to get his ass in gear.
When the door opens, you turn to him. His tie is undone. You go to him and grab it, knotting it roughly, not that he would notice.
"You couldn't shave in the shower?" You huff.
"Hey, I can do it," he tries to bat you away.
"Then why didn't you do it twenty minutes ago?" He shrugs and you pull his tie straight. You tug his lapels and straighten his jacket. "And the rest." You flick your fingers toward his face.
He shakes his head and goes into the bathroom. He grabs his comb as you linger and you see him in the mirror dragging the teeth through his thick hair. It's to his collar now. You told him to get a hair cut. He never listens. Not your problem. Well, only for today.
"Damn..."
"Here," you dip into the bathroom and grab the comb. "Just--"
You reach for the tin of gel. You just need him to look somewhat presentable. You part his hair neatly and comb it back behind his head, moving around him to check nothing's out of place. He stares at the floor. You don't want to embarrass him but goddamnit.
"Okay," you pop the cap on and wipe your hands on the towel hanging in the loop. "Let's go."
His eyes stray to the wall and he mopes. You take a breath.
"Barnes, it's for Sam," you say.
"I know," he croaks and heaves. He lifts his head and puts his shoulders straight. "I'll do my best not to fuck this up."

told you i like gentle giants so you softened up .ᐟ
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
plot: ceo!sukuna and the woman he was forced to marry finally learning to get along.
content warning: none at all. it's not 18+ but if i make a fic it will be.
peachy's yap: i wanna make this into a fic but im not 100% sure yet, lmk ! no smut just a small fluff to test out the waters. one last one shot coming until i go on a lil break.
Tumblr media
this wasn't what you wanted at all. ever since you were a little girl you planned to get married to a caring man. years later give birth to a love child hold he or she in your arms as you and your loving husband smiled at one another.
that dream was gone now and here you were a year after your wedding. terrified to even knock on the door of his study knowing his temper was off the wall at the moment. when you were cooped up in your hobby room you could hear him barking orders. while you sat in silence writing novel after novel he forbade you to publish.
this was your everyday, wake up alone, eat alone, write alone, shower alone, watch movies alone, and even go to sleep alone. he was in his study night and day until his hefty body slipped into your shared bed waking you at 2am. he didn't bother to apologize he just turned away going to sleep himself. and yet you found yourself wanting to be close to sukuna.
you sighed already knowing the conversation you both were bound to have today... just like every month for the last year. you were given to him for your writing and negotiating skills. his father the previous boss offered to pay your father millions to suspend the contract at your job for you to work for them. all for money. you raised your hand knocing on the wretched door.
you and sukuna moved into this house 6 months ago and it felt like you'd been locked away in a tower. although sukuna never listened to your ideas or let you have your way about anything he left the house details to you. he stood back as you worked with the sketchy architect who purposely looked down your blouse (his words).
he let you pick out the number of rooms, and bathrooms. the ceiling height, the shape of the pool, even how many patio chairs you wanted. he let you decorate the house pick the colors, even would let you throw splashes of pink and purple where ever you pleased. but you never did it, you didn't want to do it if not with sukuna.
but to sukuna none of this mattered because his work was more important. in his words he said 'i'll let you deal with less important matters. at least im positive you won't fuck that up.' did that statement hurt? hell yeah but even then you still wanted to be close to him.
"s...sukuna?" you stuttered waiting to hear his gruff voice.
"get in here." he said sternly and you pushed the heavy doors open, struggling at the weight. once you pushed in you stood by the door hands behind your back fingers laced. "sit." he said pointing to the chair in front of his desk and you scurry not wanting to anger him.
"i'm sorry i didn't come sooner i was writing and i had a idea i couldn't lose." you plead his eyes never left yours. he face expression neither annoyed nor pleased.
"why must you continue writing, when you have a duty to fulfill here." he grumbled and you looked down at your thumbs.
"sukuna you wont let me go with you to negotiate that's all m'good for." you say and he scoffs at your excuse.
"you are here to write contracts and negotiate deals you have not done any of that over the last year!" he said his voice raising, by no means were you a push over. scared of this big, brolic, hunk definitely but one thing you'll never be is a punk.
"you have yet to assign me any work. i know what you'll say 'you should come ask me if there's anything to do' but you are my boss. you instruct i follow, i refuse to do anything for you if you can not request it on your own." your reply was calm, you didn't want to anger him further.
"i don't want to overwhelm you," he sighs. his strict facade dropping as he handed you papers and you hum. looking down at the papers it was full of stats and numbers that made your head spin. "this is everyday work for me, i need your help but i must figure it out alone."
"the numbers are a bit crazy but it's not much to find a way to make a deal that'll pretty up the numbers." you tell him and he nods.
"how?" he asked and you looked up at him. this was the first time sukuna had asked for your help. you were shocked that he even let you know that he needed help.
"i mean your the statistics man. once you work out the numbers we can talk negotiating." you tell him with a smile hoping the sly compliment of him being good with numbers didn't slip past him. his red eyes looked up at you through his thick lashes. the corner of his lips tugging upwards as if he wanted to smile and couldn't.
this day was the first day you sat next to sukuna behind his desk. your knees touched and even that amount of contact was enough for you. you helped him clean up his desk and he didn't object he just said 'make sure you put them where i tell you'. and you did picking up the papers on his desk and organizing them for him. placing them in different stacks based off who and what they were from.
little did you know sukuna admired your every move. he watched how you walked around his office complaining about how dull it was. how your curls bounced with every step you took. he watched you search up paint colors and decor for his office. not once did this distract him, he either hummed in agreement or disagreement as he worked on the numbers.
even days later the connection between sukuna and you began to grow. he listened to your opinions and even stepped out of his office during the day. he came to your writing room to sit and drink coffee with you at 3am when you felt like you had a good idea. he even showed you the room you called the 'junk room' that was quite literally filled with sukuna's junk. he pulled out an electric guitar bragging about how it was signed by one of the best.
he tells you the name as you face scrunches up in confusion never hearing of this man ever. but even your disinterest in that didn't deter his sheer audacity and gall. he called you a degenerate and said you were a bug under a rock. you replied with 'more like a boulder' as you looked him up and down judgingly.
this comment made sukuna laugh, yes actually laugh. from that day you never held in a joke, letting anything on your mind loose. sometimes sukuna would look at you as if you said the stupidest shit on earth. most times he'd shake his head with an endearing smile but 2 times out of 10 he'd laugh.
day after day the more time you spent with sukuna the more you were pulled out of the depression. you watched movies of families with a smile even thinking about having a child with that demon.
in return sukuna became more comfortable approaching you. initially he was scared to anger you or say something that would hurt your feelings. heading his father's warning 'don't talk to her too much. you know how you are, you'll hurt her feelings.' so he listened avoided starting conversation, leaving the bed before you woke up and coming in after you fell asleep. ate in his office and never ever entered your writing room.
that day you came in and told him he was your boss changed his brain chemistry. his father was wrong, he wouldn't hurt your feelings because you wanted him to act like your boss. you could dish it out and take it. that day was when sukuna thought to himself 'i could really get used to this'.
that's why after a month of the two of finally getting along sukuna instructed you to meet him at the dining table. dining table was a stretch as it only had 2 chairs. as you waited for him assuming it was about work you were shocked for sukuna to slam down your houses floorplan.
"it's about time we made this house into a home don't ya think?" he asked looking at you and you smiled. and the two of you sat there all night you sipping on a shirley temple and he drank whiskey. he promised he'd make you cocktails from now on since you found out he was a bartender for all of 3 months.
you planned and brainstormed until the next morning. you were leaned on the table drool coming out of your mouth. sukuna smiled at how comfortable you had became around him. he lifted you and carried you up the stairs. that was the first day sukuna felt like he was really a husband. that day was when sukuna swore to himself that he would be a husband.

I just saw those Tisha hcs and.. omg I can't stop thinking of scenarios where Vee just wrecks Tisha. Could you write a fanfic off of Ler Vee and Lee Tisha? Kind of like a payback fic? Your honor I love them
"How you like that, huh?" (Dandy's World tickle fic)
A/N: Yes.
Plot: Vee and Tisha are made to go on a run together due to a random arrangement. That's where Vee discovers that Tisha is ticklish. Cue the shenanigans.
~🧼📺~
Another day, another run. And of all toons to be paired with, it's that green television.
Astro would've been nice. Sprout would've been...eh. Bobette would be a solid pick, and so would Pebble. And she would've loved to go with Shelly, but change is nice every once in a while.
...Or that she thinks.
Tisha just got off from cleaning, and went off to do the run of the day. And she had to go with a main character, so why not. It was chosen randomly and yup, that's how they got here.
She stepped inside, looked at the toon inside, and acknowledged her situation.
Not a word was exchanged between the tissue box and Vee as the elevator went down to the first floor.
"So."
Tisha looked at Vee, who just said that. "Yes?"
"Let's just get this over with."
"...Agreed."
Once that elevator opened, each toon got off to do their task: do machines and escape from Twisteds. Vee did a mic check to observe the Twisteds in the area.
No Twisteds in sight. Huh, weird. A sigh came out from Tisha, as they both left the elevator.
Then Vee's microphone accidentally scraped against Tisha's side, causing a flinch and a giggle.
Vee, of course, noticed this movement. Her antennae perked up and she looked at Tisha.
"Don't you DARE." The tissue box said.
The green TV didn't think much at first, but when she finally noticed her reaction, a smirk came to her face. Oho, she was going to have fun with this.
Without an ounce of hesitation, she pounced, aiming directly for her sides. Vee landed right on top of Tisha, her hands moving at her sides. And it seems that the tissue box is holding it in—or at least trying to.
"What's wrong, Tish? Ticklish?~"
Upon those words, Tisha pounded her fist on Vee's chest in protest, as in a way to say 'No! Of course not', but we all know the truth anyways. She attempted to kick Vee away, but to no avail.
"Oh no no no, you're not getting out of this one, darling~"
She started kicking even more, but Vee was stronger, strengthening her grip and managing to weaken Tisha's protests by a bit. And that's when Vee dropped one bomb of a tease.
"Awwe, you're soo much fun to tickle! That's adorable~ You're sooooooo adorable~"
This kept on until it broke the tissue box.
"PFFF—NOOOOHOHOHOHOHO!"
Tisha went into instant hysterics, endlessly kicking and squirming before Vee. And Vee? She was having a field day. "Ha. How you like that, huh?~"
"SHUHUT UHUHUP!"
Figures. She makes people crack FAST.
With a devious glint in her eye, Vee decided to up the ante and go to her stomach, slithering her fingers between it and her sides and causing a shriek from the tissue box. She used one of her hands to restrain Tisha's arms, making sure she doesn't move.
"Now you're less squirmy. Which means I can do this~" Vee goes on to bury her fingers on Tisha with slow deliberate strokes, causing Tisha to squirm due to the cold temperature of her fingers.
And to worsen things, she wrapped her mic around her stomach, wiggling it with deadly precision and a smirk. Because of this, the tissue box only kicked harder.
"AAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA! OKAY OKAHAY! STAHAAP!"
Vee didn't let up and only tickled harder, but it wasn't until a bit later (which felt like hours for Tisha) that she finally relented, letting the tissue box go at last.
After they both rose from the ground and Tisha regained her composure, the last words she received from the tissue box were: "Never do that again."
Tisha would go on to leave and find a machine as Vee smirked. She rolled an eye, albeit playfully unlike the other times.
Vee would 100% do that again.

—a man | s.r.

The lunch bell shrieks and the students all around give a grumble as they pour back into the class room. You’re in the midst of putting your lunch box away, but the question Mina, your near and dear friend, poses you has your face akin to a woman who’s got sliced lemons wedged into her cheeks. “No, no, I’m fine not dating anyone right now. Akio just dumped me—” you count on your fingers— “two, or, three? Weeks ago.”
“Ugh, but that was nothing. You don’t even care, so why not come with me?” she pleads, clasping her hands and leaning on your desk. “I promise, it’s not going to be bad. Just one date. A double date. That handsome boy from Kujirami we saw from the spring party asked me out to see a movie in Kobe, and it’ll be so lame if I have to go by myself. I’m sure he has a cute friend!”
“I guess?” Your voice, tinged with doubt, twangs when you wince and you search for an excuse, glancing around the room as casually as you can. The teacher's behind his desk, re-organizing his papers, and you agonize over the minutes he takes. Couldn’t he cut class conversation short, for once? “But I don’t want to transit to Kobe from Awaji on the weekend. It’s so much time, and I have to work. Maybe if it were afterschool?”
“Would Friday work?”
You try not to curse to Mina’s face. “Maybe… but it’s the end of the school week. I’d, y’know, wanna go home. And Thursday is like... we have homework. And stuff.” At your friend’s crestfallen expression, you quickly add, “I wouldn’t want to third-wheel your date anyway. If I’m there, and his friend’s there, we might end up talking to each other rather than our dates.”
A pout flashes across her face. “If they can't keep us interested, then they’re not good enough for us. Didn't you say on your first date with Inoue-san, he didn't say a single word? And we know how that turned out."
“Well, don’t take a page out of my book. Every time I give a guy a chance, they’re just not…" You don't exactly want to linger on all your failures at the moment. "Well, just give him a chance, and don't look for the bad stuff. You know, sometimes first dates, the nerves get in the way.”
“Is that what you tell yourself, too? 'Cause if you have no luck, I can't imagine what I've got going for me. Ugh, I'm so sick of boys!" Mina shoots to her feet with a new, ferocious light in her stare as she flexes her arm, patting the bicep with a sharp smile. “What we need, sweetheart, is a man.”
“A man,” you snort, laughing. “As if those exist.”
“You never know.” The chair squeaks as Mina finds her seat again. Twisting around, she sends you a wink. “Think about it, won’t you?”
“I will,” you agree. Reaching down into your bag, you feel a shadow fall across your figure, and you crane your head up at the boy standing before you. Suna Rintarou is staring down at you as if you’re the one in his way, but you can't possibly be so, and he's most definitely in the wrong section of the classroom.
“Hey.”
You only straighten up, withdrawing your English notebook and dusting off your desk quickly. “Hi.” Picking out your favourite pencil, you adjust the layout of your desk, and take a quick sip of water before realizing Suna’s still standing there, tapping on his phone, and you look at him again. “Can I help you?”
He withdraws something from his pocket—a cleanly folded piece of paper—but doesn’t even meet your gaze. A flicker of irritation licks at your stomach. “Osamu wanted to give this to you.”
“What is it?”
“From our volleyball meeting.”
“What’s that got to do with me?”
“He volunteered you to fill our manager spot since Shiri-san won’t be coming back this year. It’s the form.”
Taking it, you open your mouth to ask another question but he’s already walking to the back of the class, and you frown, eyes trailing after the boy who sits down and pulls out his phone, already slouched over and half-hidden by the person sitting in front of him. Ridiculous.
With a huff, you face forward again. The paper crinkles as you see your name already written at the top in Osamu’s slanted writing, but the teacher is calling for the class’s attention (of course, now is when he decides that his paper stacks are straight enough), and the idea is pushed to the back of your head with a firm, resounding answer.
No way.

Surprise Valentine (Dabi x reader)
a/n: a little early v-day treat for you cuties<33 I'm still working on a Keigo piece for valentines day so that should be out soon (hopefully) lol I was working on it then went out and when I got home the idea for this fic washed over me so crazily I was like I HAVE to write it ahhh enjoy lovelies <33

"I don't need a babysitter!" Toga huffed as she skipped down the dimly lit street, refusing to face Dabi who was following close behind.
"I find that hard to believe," Dabi rolled his eyes. "I'm here for my own reasons, so just shut up and keep walking. We're almost there anyway." Toga stopped in her tracks, a wicked grin spreading across her face as she took in his words. Dabi was joining her to steal Valentine's Day treats and items from the store on his own accord? It could only mean one thing.......
"I knew it! You are in love!" the young girl beamed, completely invading Dabi's personal space as she danced around happily. "Love love love!"
"Ohmygod will you shut up?!" Dabi snapped back, looking down at his feet as he kept walking. He didn't want to admit it but Toga was right, he was in love with you. So much so that he wanted to be the sweet boyfriend who surprises you with cute gifts, despite his claim to dislike this and any other holiday. God love was embarrassing.
"You didn't deny it," Toga teased, dodging the small flame he threw her way. Dabi just groaned in response, silently begging she'd leave him alone so he could grab what he needed and get out.
After a few more steps and teasing remarks by Toga, the pair finally made it to the closed shop. Dabi swiftly cuts out any security cameras and locks, allowing the two to enter the shop. The isles were filled with a massive assortment of heart shaped candies, plushies, flowers, and other everyday items in pink or red to make buyers want to grab it.
Though he wouldn't admit it aloud, Dabi was overwhelmed as he browsed the store. Everything felt so flashy, so forward, so lovey dovey. But none of it felt like him. If he was going to do something for you, he was going to make sure you could see the thought and love behind it. He may not be the most romantic man or the best with words, but he always made sure his actions told you exactly how he felt. Exactly how much he loved you. It had to be perfect. He needed to be the best boyfriend. He needed your love. He needed you to never leave him. He needed-
"You're overthinking this dummy," Toga's voice snaps Dabi back to reality as she approaches him, hands full of heart shaped chocolates and little plushies. "I know you know what ______ likes, so just pick something and stick with the decision."
Though it annoyed him, Toga's reassurance eased his thoughts. He took a deep breath, rubbing his eyes before looking at the isles again with a new, refreshed mindset. This time a black cat plushie with a gold heart collar caught his eye. He chuckled as he remembered the countless times you'd say he reminded you of a cat or he had "black cat energy," whatever the hell that meant. As he went to grab it, his eyes began trailing upward and landed on a plushie that happened to be your favorite animal and color. A small smile tugs at his lips as he examines the item, noting it slightly resembled you as well. He decided to grab both plushies, snatching a pack of your favorite snacks before heading out with Toga.
Once back at the hideout, Toga immediately began showing off her "shopping" haul to the rest of the League. This allowed Dabi to go unnoticed as he snuck out, headed straight to your apartment. He wakes you up by knocking on your window, blue eyes shining as he stares through the glass.
"I'm begging you to use the front door," you sigh as you open the window, allowing him to climb into your room. You were still trying to catch your breath after he scared you wide awake by arriving here at 2 am without any prior warning.
"Mmm no can do sweetheart, gotta keep you on your toes," he grinned.
"Why are you even here?" you yawned, urging him to join you on the bed. "Not that I'm complaining or anything, just isn't like you to show up without some kind of heads up. Everything okay?" His heart swelled at your concern. The way you loved him so gently, so purely made his head spin. That feeling only intensified as he remembered why he even came over in the first place.
"I-uh-I have something for you." His eyebrows furrowed as he mentally scolded himself for sounding so nervous. Your eyes widen with excitement at his words.
"For me?" you smile, looking at him. You could tell he was nervous which only made you smile grow. God he's so cute.
"Just take it," he grumbles. While it came off coldly, you knew he was just nervous. Everything about his relationship with you was new to him, and that scared him. Because of this you were always patient, and knew his actions showed his true emotions. That's why your jaw almost dropped when he handed you the plushies and snacks.
"Stopppp is this us as plushies?" you happily asked as you examined the plushies. You already knew the answer though, smiling ear to ear as you hugged the soft and fuzzy items.
"Thought you'd be into some corny shit like that," he chuckles, nerves slowly dissolving seeing you so happy. He hid his still trembling hands from your line of vision as he pulled you into his side, kissing the top of your head. "Happy Valentine's Day baby."
"AHHH I love you!! I love you!!!" you cheered, pulling him to lay down on the bed with you. You moved to lay on top of him, covering his face with kisses before nuzzling into his neck. His arms tightened around you as you cuddled against him, smile still painted on your face. "Thank you for my gift."
He hummed, small smile tugging at his lips as he rubbed your back gently. "Glad you liked it."
"I have something for you too but," you yawned, "I'll give you it before I head to work in a few hours." Your eyes start falling shut as the warmth from Dabi's body lures you back to sleep. "Mmmmm good night, I love you."
"I love you too baby." Dabi leans down to kiss your lips before adjusting the way you're laying on him so you both could fall asleep comfortably. His arms tighten around you once again, reminding you he's not going anywhere as you both drift off to sleep.

There was nothing left to do but move forward. Since your first game, unfortunately not your last as you grew to find out from a sobbing woman who pleaded for your and Niragi's help to end her before the lasers did on her final ‘visa’ day (which only ended with you covered in blood and Niragi laughing in your face and being no help), you had been traveling through Tokyo on foot. There was no electricity anywhere besides games that distantly lit up, being narrowly avoided by you both until further notice, and although you knew all the other people in this abandoned world were stranded here just like you, you didn't trust any of them.
Desperation made people do crazy shit.
Every noise made you flinch and study the origin, leaving Niragi terribly irate at your jumpiness. He had found a gun somehow, just a little handheld pistol to defend the both of you, but it still made your tenseness fade ever so slightly. On the third day of idleness, Niragi brought up a good point.
“We need to find a game tonight.” He said firmly. “I'm not ending up a bloody mess on the side of the road like that chick.”
“That woman just wanted out. It's not a crime to choose rather than doom yourself to having no say in your own death.” Your words made him quiet for a long moment as you both scanned the windows of the department store you locked up in for the previous night.
Nothing was amiss it seemed, and you took to padding around to find fresh clothes and hygiene products.
“We'll be fine. The games aren't impossible to win.”
You hummed from the hair care aisle. “We don't know that. Thirteen people died in our first day—and I think that was meant to be an easy game.”
“Easy?” He asked, trailing after you. “Sure, maybe after we figured it out, but I'd rather not almost drown again.” The reminder that you owed him your life laid heavy in your heart.
“That's not what I mean. Do you remember the AI's information? She said: Three of Diamonds. Like a deck of cards. If we go off of that, three would be one of the easiest games we would face.”
Niragi had the sense to pale slightly. “What if Diamonds stands for difficulty, too, though. Like, 1-13, but Spade, Club, Diamond, and Heart are leveled 1-4?”
You pondered the idea. It could be, yes, but with the game's objective, you doubted it. “I think Diamonds are a game of intelligence.”
Niragi rolled his eyes but didn't seem too hung up on it. “Great, intelligence games with a bartender. I might not be able to cash in this life debt after all.”
Glaring, you tossed him a pack of hairties. “I'm in college, dipshit. It's not like you came in with a lab coat on, either.”
He turned his head, scoffing. “I design and code game software. Graduated university: top of my class, thank you.”
You both sat in uneasy silence for a while. You broke it first, changing the topic entirely. “I didn't give you those for nothing. Tie back your hair, it got in the way in our first game, I don't want it to happen again.”
Niragi awkwardly fumbled with his midnight black strands of hair, but with no mirror and presumably no experience, it became hard to watch. “You've never put your hair up?” You asked, bemused.
Niragi clicked his tongue irritatedly. “I'll do it later.”
“Give it,” You nearly growled out, snatching it from him and urging him to lean down but the heel of your palm, earning an offended noise from the man. You tied it half-back in a manbun-esque style. Studying your work once he stood back up straight and eyed you with a slightly flustered expression crossing his sour face, you snickered in satisfaction. “Much better. We can see your pretty face now.”
Although it was a half-hearted joke, Niragi seemed to take it as an insult rather than a friendly tease. He scowled at you and continued prowling through the aisles with a heavier step.
After having little luck, you both decided to move on. With your find, you were able to change from your, frankly quite gross, tank and jeans and into more breathable athleticwear that allowed you to freely move around. Niragi didn't get the memo, instead changing from his standard office attire and into black jeans and a loose-fitted silky button-up. He vehemently ignored your barely concealed look of judgement, humming out loud as you looked around the city streets. It was evening now, when the game venues all started to light up and people could sometimes be spotted if you looked from a high vantage point.
He nodded towards a warehouse arena that had lit up moments ago. It seemed to be an old candy-making factory judging by the brightly colored LEDs, but you weren't quite sure. “That one's close.”
“What type do you think it is?” You asked, stashing your bag under the cash register in an old corner store deli. The smell was absolutely awful in it, but you knew it would repel any scavengers who weren't so lucky in their own pickings.
“It's a big arena.” He sniffed, not saying a smart-ass comment like you had started to expect over the past few days. “Physical game, I'd guess. Lots of space to hide or run away in.”
“I'm pretty good at hide and seek.” You said optimistically, earning a genuine laugh from your companion.
“Let's hope it is, then.”
🍒
The warehouse was, in fact, a candy factory. It still smelled sickly sweet as you both wandered through the employee entrance door. It was a pristine grey everywhere, quite a depressing place of work but sleek and clean nonetheless. Conveyor belts were seen through the open gate doors and giant palettes of differently packaged candies were stacked nearly to the ceiling. The sight was nauseating and you avoided looking to the top, hoping that none would be knocked over any time soon. In a smaller area people piled in quickly after.
Some were clearly experiencing their first game, eyes glossed with fear and confusion. Some were wary of others, backing to walls and observing their opponents with hard stares. Most seemed to collectively be anxious and alone, a select few coming in with another at their shoulder.
One particular duo caught your eye, looking out of place next to other pairs. About the same height, one styled his medium-length wavy and greasy hair into a loose bun at the back of his head, facial hair lining his uniquely handsome face as he glanced over everyone with a hopeful gleam in his eyes. Even his wardrobe was eccentric, a fedora with sunglasses stacked on top of it adorning his head and a colorful shirt-slack combo. The other was his stark contrast, buzzcut hair and wearing a simple outfit of a black wife-beater and matching cargo jeans, showing off muscled arms. Military, easy, and possibly your most dangerous enemy or valuable ally in a game of brawn.
You shared a glance with Niragi, who also caught interest in the new additions. Only mere moments after they walked in, the door shut behind them and the AI's voice rang. Stepping closer to Niragi, you looked to your phone for the instructions.
“Player Requirement met. Closing registration…”
“Game: Laser Tag. Difficulty: Five of Spades.”
A five. On the presumed scale of 1-13 like you guessed, a five was still on the easier side. Five days would be added to your visa if you survived, providing ample time to set up a secure home base for you and Niragi.
Niragi seemed satisfied, patting his handgun with a pleased grin. “That sounds promising.”
“Rules: Two teams will be assigned from the 28 players in the game. The Red and Blue teams will use their provided laser guns to play one round of laser tag.”
“How many lives do we get?” A nervous young voice spoke out, leading your eyes to a teenage boy dressed in a grimy t-shirt and pajama pants. He'd been here for days already, used to the games but not acclimated enough to find supplies. He was scrawny, collarbones visible under his thin shirt and cheeks hollow like he'd not eaten in days. “In the arcade, its always three.” He says, hugging himself.
You hummed assuringly. “Maybe. Or whatever team gets the most tags.” You said, slightly reluctant but knowing no one else would speak up and comfort him. He weakly smiled at you, shuffling ever so slightly closer to your pairing.
A door clicked open, revealing an employee break room that held coat racks of vests with attached guns, classic arcade style. “Can we pick our teams?” You whispered to Niragi, shivering at the temperature drop that seemed to happen after the rules explained. He didn't reply.
Grabbing a vest from the rack, you shrugged it over your shoulders and strapped it across your chest. Next to you, the teenage boy followed your lead and did the exact same actions. Picking up a gun each, the players all glanced around at each other with distrust in their eyes and tense bodies. Niragi was confidently standing almost entirely in front of you, blocking most people from your view—or looking at you. Unconsciously or not, you were grateful.
The timer dinged while counting down time for players to gear up. Seeing the boy's grip shaking over the hold of his trigger, you reached out and placed your own over his. Muttering, you comfortingly said: “It's okay. Treat it just like you're out playing laser tag with your friends. Do you go to the arcade often?”
Swallowing harshly, he nodded. “Almost every weekend.”
You smiled. “I haven't been in years. If we're on opposite teams, go easy on me.”
He laughed, nodding softly. “I'm Hoshiko.”
You told him your own in turn, and the timer finally stopped. The room went completely dark, and mutters released into the room. The vests all lit up at once, lighting it in blue and red. Looking down at your gun, you found that you were blue. Niragi turned to you, smirking when he saw your colors matched. “Watch my back this time.” He said plainly.
Hoshiko was blue, too, and you let out a subtle sigh of relief. “Take care of me.” You said, nudging his arm. He nodded with furrowed brows, seemingly set in his goal.
“Clear condition: Do not get hit with a laser gun. Time limit: 20 minutes.”
You sucked in a breath. “One hit is a loss?” To have to sit out and allow your teammates to carry on after only one hit would be a challenge. People would drop like flies, even in the large arena.
“Game starts in: One minute.”
People immediately began their rush out of the employee room to find beginning points. Hoshiki led the way for you and nodded towards the office areas upstairs. “We can see everything from there.”
Niragi obviously had the brains to agree, not arguing with the much younger boy's decision. Your trio rushed up the metal staircase and to an open office in the middle of the hall, overlooking a good majority of the line of conveyors. In the distance, the enormous stacks of wrapped cases were slightly visible. “Did anyone else come up here?” You asked, leaning below the window and glancing over it to peek. The blue glow from all of your packs lit up the small space as the timer ticked down.
“20 seconds remaining.”
You tensely gripped your gun, taking a deep breath in and listening to the footsteps below.
“I didn't see anyone else.” Niragi said. “But don't assume anything.”
You and Hoshiko nodded together. “Game start. 20 minutes until the game finishes.” The factory lit up with LEDs and strobes, highlighting the floors and walls periodically and making vest colors harder to see.
Immediately, blasts were heard throughout the arena. Shoes squeaking on the metal floor echoed throughout the open area and shouts of panic did, too. Niragi sprang up to join the action, looking both ways down the hall before situating his gun on the railing while kneeling. You and Hoshiko followed behind, each finding a spot on the railguard to shoot from. You flinched as a red-hot laser shot just past your head and into the wall. Whipping your head around, your eyes widened in horror of realizing that the lasers used from the guns were the very same ones that shot down from the sky and killed game losers.
“We only get one hit because it'll kill us.” You told Niragi and Hoshiko, who were both coming to the same realization in different ways. Hoshiko was nearly hyperventilating, hugging his gun to his chest and leaning below the railing to shield himself. Niragi, on the other hand, was cheering and celebrating his own killshot.
He ducked when the dead man's teammate spun around and blasted towards the upper area. Laughing, he seemed high on adrenaline as he faced you. “You didn't put that together already, sweetheart?”
Swallowing, you braced yourself at the sound of thundering footsteps climbing to the office hall. “Go!” You urged, taking Hoshiko's arm and running towards the end of the hall and towards the other stairwell. Lasers lit up the arena with red and blood littered the floors as fluid as water might. You all hid among a line of conveyors, watching a few blues and reds alike taking turns jumping from hiding spots and shooting at the opposite sides.
Niragi was the boldest of you three, taking risks and peaking out to discreetly shoot down any stragglers who tried to move positions. Each little cheer he did made your stomach squeeze uncomfortably, but you forced yourself to understand the situation. It was them or you, after all.
Bringing up your phone, you read the black digits: ‘15:27’. Only five minutes had passed and yet it felt like hours with your blood pumping hot through your veins.
Niragi leaned down, whispering to you and Hoshiko. “See that guy in the black tank?”
You both nodded after a glance up. The buzzcut guy from the break room was dominating the competition—blue side's, luckily—from a clever spot on the second floor of the storage area. He peaked up strategically and shot at the Reds hiding amongst the large stacks of candy. “I'm going to make for the wall between storage and the conveyors.” He said. “With him, we can take most of the Red guys down.”
“You'll be exposed!” Hoshiko said urgently, pleadingly shaking his head.
“You both are covering me.” Niragi said sternly, earning saucer eyes from you.
“I'm not a good shot, Niragi.” You told him. “If you get shot—”
“Don't let me.” He nearly growled out, wasting no time and run-crouching over to the concrete wall. You and Hoshiko held you breath all the while, and you didn't even register the Red-lit woman stalked Niragi with a keen eye as she spotted him skittering across the floor. Stepping from her hiding spot, aiming right for his back.
It was Hoshiko that moved first, lifting his gun to tuck it below his chin and rest on the conveyor to aim for her leg. When the trigger was pulled and the gun's nozzle was left slightly smoking from the intense heat, all you could hear was the woman's pained scream as she dropped her gear and clutched at her leg. Panting on the floor, she rocked herself back and forth before turning her angered gaze to you two. Her Red vest turned off and she was entirely in the shadows. Gasping, you pulled the boy down and hidden away with you again.
“Shit.” Hoshiko cursed. “Can the guns still work if you're out?”
“I don't know…” You trailed anxiously, sweat-laced hands gripping the handle of your gun and sucking a deep breath in. “We can't risk that.”
Hearing the hobbling footsteps approach the belt, you hopped straight up onto your feet and shot forward. The red laser momentarily lit up her face, illuminating the horrified expression on her face as it hit her right in the chest. The ‘thud’ echoed in the immediate area as she went down. You killed a woman. In a game of laser tag, you shot down and murdered your opponent with no hesitation. Hoshiko rose to your level, grabbing your arm with a worried expression. “We need to move spots. They'll hear that fall and know someone is right here.”
Wordlessly, you nodded. Niragi had to do the rest himself. Hopefully, that woman was the only one who'd noticed his movement. You and Hoshiko crouched back below the conveyors, using them as covers to stalk below, avoiding other players who seemed to trip over each other in panic. You both reached a small room to the side, finding it to be some kind of broom closet. “Get—” You started, whipping around when a loud, ‘crash!’ went through the entire factory instead. In the dark, you could see the silhouette of the towers of packages start to tumble down like dominos. You could hear Niragi and another man's voice call out triumphantly towards each other, cheering and whooping coming solely from Niragi but the other man affirming the victory that the falls brought.
Glancing up, you saw the man in the black outfit who'd been at the high position and shooting from a distance waving for Niragi to run back into the working part of the factory. He obeyed, surprisingly, cackling as he ran with his gun in hand back to the former hiding spot that you three had taken.
“Seven players remaining.” The robotic feminine voice chimed. You hummed, wondering which team had more. With the large stacks of boxes falling, you assumed that your team had taken the majority of the Reds down in that room.
Hoshiko shouted next to you, yanking you down from your spot and into the wall. You almost scolded him for the unnecessary manhandling, but quickly paused when you saw him shoot down a limping Red team man who escaped the box flooded area. His gun was pointed right at the two of you, only stopped by Hoshiko's own precise aim to his chest. He was animated in the air for a second before falling completely limp in a pile of blood and flesh.
You held Hoshiko's shoulder, staring at the dead man with a silent gape. There wasn't any time to dwell on it when another Red came darting across the working line room. “Shit-” You cursed, jumping to run behind a wall with the still shell-shocked boy.
You heard the padding of his heavy footsteps approaching with vigor, and clutched your gun tight to your chest to prepare for another one-on-one shootout. You hoped desperately that even if you were shot, you could take him down at the same time to prevent him from harming Hoshiko.
A shot interrupted your prayers, and you gingerly peeked out to see a red-hot hole cooling down to black right between the man's eyes, blood pooling around his head on the reflective floor. Looking up, you saw Niragi with an unimpressed raised brow and gun leaning on his shoulder casually as if he'd not just shot down a man.
“Saved you again.” He snickered, though he didn't sound too hung up over it.
Standing on shaky legs, you shook your head. “I shot down a woman who saw your big head switch spots.” You defended yourself.
Sharp laser shots sounded in the much quieter arena, presumably from the AI rather than any players. They were too rapid and short to come from your guns.
“All Red players eliminated. Game clear.”
Looking at your gun, you shoved it to the floor and wiped your sweaty hands on your pants.
“Really now?” Niragi sounded surprised. Glancing around, he spotted the woman's still body in front of the first conveyor that they hid behind. “That's still two saves versus one. Don't forget it,” he nudged your arm with his own, not bothering to lose the gun. Ignoring him, you glanced down to Hoshiko, who hugged his legs and shivered.
“Hoshiko,” You started gently. “We need to go. Do you have a group?”
He looked up at you with glossy eyes, shaking his head. “I—I came here with my brothers. But the first game killed them both.”
Niragi eyed you, kicking your shoe from behind as if to say ‘don't do it’.
“Niragi and I are on foot right now, but it's safer with three. Come with us.” You offered a hand out to him, smiling when he grabbed it to hoist himself up. Niragi clicked his tongue behind you.
At the break room's emergency exit, you three found the two men from the beginning holding up the 5 of Spades card and inspecting it. Apprehensively, you stilled when spotting them, unknowing of their friendliness beyond playing on the same team for less than half an hour.
“Hey.” The eccentric man with the bun greeted first. Niragi narrowed his eyes, nodding his own silent greeting. The more intimidating of the pair was completely silent and still, crossing his large arms other each other and studying all three of you with hawk eyes.
“Have you been here long?” He continued, obviously unconcerned with the awkward tension in the room.
“About a week.” Niragi rounded up, tossing aside the vest and gun, making sure the gun in his belt was visible to both men. Smart, you thought as the buzzcut glanced at the other man with a raised brow.
“Most people don't even make it that long.” The man laughed. “My name is Takeru—or Hatter, if you please. This is Aguni, my…security.” He clapped Aguni on the shoulder, and you half-expected that Aguni would shank him in the stomach for the close touch. Surprisingly, he stayed perfectly still and nodded at the mention of his name.
“Niragi.” Niragi introduced himself, intrigued at the introductions. To you, it felt like you were about to be given a sales pitch.
You introduced yourself and Hoshiko shortly, staying in front of the boy while he was still shaky and unnerved.
“You must be tired from all the walking. Here and there, no electricity and running water. Water bottles grow scarce in all the scavenged stores.”
“What's your point?” Niragi asked.
“You look like you can handle yourself. At The Beach, we've been recruiting people like you.”
“The Beach?”
“A utopia.” Hatter spread his arms out dramatically like a preacher might, and you questioned just how much truth comes from his mouth. “There's only a few of us now—but we've managed to get electricity and water working again with our resident geniuses. Cars, too, so no more walking aimlessly for the next game. Aguni here is our militant branch head, he joins most of the games to keep our residents safe and returned back to The Beach.”
Sounded too good to be true. Electricity and running water run by only a few people. “Where's this utopia?” You asked apprehensively.
Hatter's eyes locked on you and he smiled brightly, a cheek to cheek grin that made you certain he was missing some screws. “Come with us. Niragi, you were good with that gun, you could be placed right under Aguni.”
Niragi seemed to think over the offer in his head, shifting his weight and glancing between Aguni and Hatter. “They can come?” He asked, nodding towards you and Hoshiko.
“Of course! All are welcome at The Beach.”
“We'll check it out.” Niragi agreed for you all, earning a scorching look from you and you pulled his arm.
“I never agreed to that. We should discuss it, Niragi.” You hissed in his ear.
He yanked his arm back, looking down at you like you were a mere animal. A dog begging for food at his heels. “There's nothing to discuss.” He left the alleyway with Hatter, following him to the car that was promised.
Aguni stayed a moment longer, eyeing you before he followed after.
You and Hoshiko shared a glance. “Do you want to go?” You asked. Without Niragi, you wouldn't be half as safe. A young woman and a teenage boy alone on the desolate streets of abandoned Tokyo with scavengers hiding about would not prove positive for anyone. Niragi knew that and took advantage of it.
“I think we should just give it a chance. If Hatter is lying, we'll leave.” He suggested, looking a hundred times more weary than when they first joined.
“Are you okay?” You stopped him from approaching the car. “We could take a moment, if you need it.” Truthfully, your own stomach was churning with the weight of Laser Tag's deaths—directly and indirect. You thought your first game was horrible, with the thirteen other people dying in their water-filled cages surrounding you, but at least you were not responsible for their deaths like you were now. How many people would you have to kill just to make it to the next game and kill some more?
“I'm okay,” he smiled weakly, leading the way to the car. “A shower would be nice, though.”
You laughed and agreed.
🍒
Hatter was telling the truth. The Beach was a reformed resort with fully functioning utilities and people. There were only a few, leaving the lobbies and pool empty as you passed through them like ghost towns. The bright lights were comforting, though, making up for it. Hatter and Aguni led the way to an upstairs rentable office room that had all the previous decorations removed and replaced with more practical ones. A large white table sat in the middle of the room, with three people sitting at it as if they were waiting for you all.
“Everyone, meet Mira, Ann, and Kuzuryu.” He introduced you three in turn. Murmured greetings were exchanged between everyone. Kuzuryu was wearing a formal suit and square glasses, looking groomed and proper despite the wildness of the new world. Mira was wearing a black blouse and dark red slacks, a mirror of the former and yet looking twice as sweet with a smile and wave towards you. An was in a white blouse and denim shorts, expression hidden behind sunglasses but still managing to look intimidating.
“These are our number two, three, and four.”
“Why are they numbered?” You piped up, glancing at the bracelets on their arms.
“I'm glad you asked, my dear!” Hatter appeared behind you, grabbing your shoulders and laughing joyfully.
“Now that you know The Beach is real, I can explain the purpose of it.”
You and Niragi sat next to each other at the table, you sitting opposite of Mira and him next to Hoshiko as you waited for an explanation. Kuzuryu stood and walked to a wooden wall, opening it like a barn door to reveal a few scattered paintings of cards. Your eyes ran across the wall, scanning for the cards that were painted on. It wasn't many, and you assumed it was still a work in progress as a few were crossed out and others were still half-done.
“The purpose of The Beach and all of its citizens, future and current, is to collect every single one of the cards from the games.”
“For what?” Hoshiko asked quietly, wringing his hands together in his lap. He looked interested.
“To get out of this world.” Hatter said, demeanor suddenly extremely serious. “I have a theory. If every card is collected, then the game is completed and one person at a time can go home per deck of cards.”
“That's why we have rankings.” Kuzuryu spoke up. “Number one goes first. Then two, and three, and so on.”
“I am number one, of course.” Hatter said with a charming bow.
“That would take years!” You exasperated. “Who would wait that long?”
Mira giggled in front of you. “That's why we're recruiting people all over Tokyo to join us. The more people contributing cards, the faster we can all go home.” Basing everything off of a theory was risky.
“I'm not sure I want to stay here.” You told Hatter, following his pacing form around the room.
“No?” He asked. “Not even if you were offered a place on the executive table?”
“Would I be able to keep it if you offer everyone new a spot at it?” You bit, glancing at the entrance door that was blocked by Aguni.
He waved the question off. “Of course. The ranking is decided by how many cards someone has contributed, and their cards’ value. As long as you keep playing the games, you can keep your number.”
“Still. It'll be faster if I do it alone. Good luck, Hatter.” You stood from your chair, yelping when you were yanked back by Niragi.
“We'll stay.” He promised simply.
“Niragi—”
“Great!” Hatter clapped, taking a seat at the head of the table. “Let's get you three some numbers. What are your cards?”
“Three of diamonds and five of spades, obviously.” Niragi answered for you both. “We didn't grab our first card, though.”
Hoshiko reached into his pocket and slid a three of hearts to the table's head. Hatter nodded appreciatively, pocketing it for himself. “That's no matter. We'll find another three of diamonds game eventually.” Mira moved to cross out the three of hearts with a fresh can of paint, her neat handwriting showing no flaws on the white wall.
Ann reached into a bag and handed you three numbers. Six, seven, and eight. “Distribute as you please. You three have an even amount.”
Hoshiko handed you the ‘Seven’ and took the ‘Eight’ for himself as Niragi immediately slapped ‘Six’ on his own wrist. You didn't give a damn what number you were assigned, knowing that tonight while everyone else slept you would simply sneak out. Hoshiko, too, if he accepted your offer.
“Your room numbers correspond with your numbers.” She continued.
“Before Hatter left, we were discussing the rules of The Beach.” Aguni said. You almost forgot he was there with his silence. He sat slumped at the other end, opposite of Hatter.
“Ah, yes.” He said. “We only got to brainstorming but during our drive I think I figured some out.”
Ann nodded for him to continue and she brought out a pen and paper from her bag yet again.
“Number one.” He started, drafting it. “Live as you desire. Drink, party, fuck. Its some of our last days, might as well be free.” Some nods and mutters of agreement filled the room. Seeing no complaints, he leaned back in his seat and continued.
“Number two.” He scanned the room, lingering on you, Mira, and Ann for moments too long. Confused, you glanced at both of them and found no luck in an explanation. “We must all wear bathing suits at all times. This goes hand in hand with ‘no weapons’. Nothing is hidden in swimwear.”
Before you could plead your case, Niragi spoke up. “No weapons?” Like that was the biggest issue. In fact, you actually liked that rule.
Hatter laughed and waved him off, too. “Not you, Niragi. The Militants are permitted guns. To keep order, only a few select people can be exempt.”
“Can't we just do room checks?” You asked.
“If you're against the policy, you could wear normal attire during games. But there is no further argument.”
Well, damn.
“Only one more rule. Short and sweet to keep confusion to a minimum.” He decided.
“Death to all traitors.”

Hiii I wanna request something I never requested before😭😭 but can you do a sassy hawks fic? I love me sum sassy men and hawks seems the like the type to be REALLY sassy😭
"ON THE OTHER SIDE" || pro hero!hawks x villain reader
late night talk in the bar with your ex boyfriend and the pro hero, Hawks. Who's maybe the reasoning for covering for all your dirty work, is because of something deeper.
Tumblr media
"i never thought a man like you would be so sassy,"
you'd remark flicking your eyes away from the man in front of you. you noticed how he pretended to have an offended look, crossing his arms as he responding. "a man like what?"
you smirked, shaking your head. "i mean the no. 2 greatest hero in all of Japan. Thought you'd have some more curtesy."
"oh believe me sweetheart, i have a lot of curtesy, just not when it comes to people like you."
"i'm so offended hawks," you scoffed mockingly, "I thought as a civilian I'd be treated better by someone of such higher level." he hummed, a smirk rising on his face as he spoke, "i wouldn't say you're a 'civilian' the man responded, his piercing eyes staring down your own.
"and what says I'm not?" you smirked gently.
"I don't know, but I'm gonna prove it." he said, taking a drink from his glass. "whether it's tonight in this shitty lounge or not, i know you're guilty y/n."
"guilty of what?"
"Whatever you can get yourself into." he sighed, shaking his head. "I've told you, people are after you."
"I'm playing my cards right and being safe when I do so. I told you, if not even you can convict me of what I'm doing, it's as if i'm doing nothing at all."
the pro hero sets down his glass "and with a mindset like that you are just asking to be behind bars."
"And you're the one who's been covering me, seems like you'd be behind there with me."
he sighed rolling his eyes, a smirk appearing on his face as he looked away.
"i know you like me, keigo."
he flicked his eyes to the floor his hand resting over his mouth as he looked back at you, watching.
"you're treating me like shit, yet bending over backwords to keep me out of trouble. All for who? a borderline criminal, thats not the hawks Japan knows and loves.. "
you paused for a moment taking in the details of his thoughtful expression, scooting in closer as you taunted.
"Sounds like you've got a crush."
"Sounds like I've lowered my standards." he muttered.
You absolutely were taken aback, not expecting him to say something like that.
"you're cruel kei. I've missed that side of you."
He stood up from where he was sitting, ready for this night to be over. "im guessing you didn't have a good father figure growing up, did you?"
"i'm sure every girl you've dated hasn't either."
he slightly smirked at that semi twisted comment. For an undercover mission, he didn't seem undercover at all. Not at least to you. In fact, he was raw and bare in front of you. You could sense him out the minute you smelled his cologne trace the air of that bar lounge.
"get some rest y/n we'll talk next time,"
"is that 'next time' gonna be in another public setting like this, or am i gonna be lucky enough to get a call from you at 1am again?"
he smirked, sighing. "goodnight y/n." he shook his head, trying to contain his composure.
"night kei... call me.." you winked as you stood up from your chair, walking out. HIs eyes watching you with every step you took.

If this is totally outside your realm of comfort to write then that's cool but I figured there's no harm in shooting my shot. Your small chested reader with Caleb piece was delightful, and I was wondering 👉👈Might you consider writing a little something about a trans reader who's dealing with chest dysphoria?
While this isn't my field of expertise, I would love for my fics to comfort all kinds of people so I shall try my best!!! <3 🫡 Constructive criticism is appreciated since this is my first time writing this kind of stuff!! :D
Tumblr media
Caleb was the first person you told about your transition, both because you consider him your closest friend, and because you knew he would support you. And he does!
At first he didn't know much about what he should do or how he should act, but being the resourceful man he is, he immediately looked into it so he could be as supportive as possible and anticipate any needs you might have.
Of course one of the first things he learnt about was how you could feel uncomfortable and insecure of your own body. Not on his watch.
Prepare to receive lots of binders in different styles because he just has to make sure you're comfortable and you look how you want to look. All the while saying and reassuring that you don't need these to be a man, you already are, but he figured you would appreciate them.
He would show you his favorite clothing stores and encourage any and all styles you might want to try, trying to be objective with you so you'd know he means it if he says that you look how a guy would look, without being condescending.
If you keep tugging at your shirt or wearing baggy clothes because you're not comfortable with your body yet, he will just. Take your hand and make you feel how big his chest is. He'll joke about how he might need to wear a binder too by your standards.
He'll invite you to go exercising with him and encourage you to wear tighter sports clothes, biggest hype man there ever was.
"You keep complainin' about your chest but I only see it getting flatter and mine getting bigger. I think I'm absorbing your energy and getting more powerful." And such memery aplenty.
Insists that the human body isn't even that representative of anyone. He uses Viper as an example. Then he uses his arm as an example. Then he worries a lot that you'll take it as an idea and go to Professor Lucius to get your body modified.
No even a question but he would pay for any surgery you'd want to have, if you want to have it, and get actually good doctors.

Handle With Care 2
Warnings: non/dubcon, and other dark elements. My username actually says you never asked for any of this.
My warnings are not exhaustive but be aware this is a dark fic and may include potentially triggering topics. Please use your common sense when consuming content. I am not responsible for your decisions.
Characters: Bucky Barnes
Summary: your work blurs the lines between professional and personal.
Note: I’m on a Bucky kick and can’t stop myself.
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging ❤️
Tumblr media
Bucky sighs and shifts in the seat, trying to see past the clog of traffic. He sits back heavily, enough to jolt the entire car. You glance at him as you steer away from the bottle neck.
"We're not going in the front, are we?" He smooths his hair and furrows his brow.
"Not unless you want cameras in your face," you pull into an underground lot and roll down your window to swipe your card in the fee machine.
"Mm, exactly my point," he brushes his palms over his stubble. You can hear the bristle.
"Look, we're both just trying to get through this. For Wilson." You slowly roll through and look for a spot.
"He doesn't need me--"
"Stop saying that," you snip. "You wouldn't be here if that was true. I didn't exactly wake up thinking I'd be crawling through your window."
"No one asked you to."
You veer into a spot and slam on the brake. "Actually, Barnes, he asked me to. That's why I did it, so let's cut the lone wolf schtick and grind our teeth through the pomp and ceremony."
He grumbles. You shift into park and kill the engine. You take a deep breath and search for your zen. He's undoing a lot of self-work right now. You undo your seat belt and get out. He mirrors you with reluctance.
"We'll circle around and head in through the rear," you shut the door and stomp in your heels, clasping your bag tightly as you check the time.
"Yes, Captain," he says sardonically.
"No, he's inside, waiting," you return.
He's quiet as he follows you. You don't fail to notice the looks he gets. You can't blame him for not appreciating prying eyes. Still, it's the least he can do for Sam. Just this once.
As you get around to the back doors, past the fervour and rush of attendees, he catches up to you. There's a man in a uniform keeping watch. You wave as you approach.
"Tito," you smile.
"Huh..." he squints at you as his burly arms tense in his jacket. "Oh, it's you? I didn't recognise you in that... thing."
You glance down at your dress, "special occasion."
"Mm, right."
"Come on, Tito, I got clearance," you argue.
"No one's in the back but personnel."
"I am personnel. Didn't I disarm that bomb way back--"
"Hmmm," he looks past you at Bucky. "Hey, it's you."
Bucky growls and shuffles closer.
"Look, my friend here is having a rough day. The front is a circus, please, Ti?"
"You still owe me that drink," he nibbles his lip.
You chuckle, "I got a flask--" You show him your clutch.
He laughs. "You know what I mean."
"I told ya I would. I'm a busy gal," you fend him off. "So, pretty please, Tito?"
He rolls his eyes and reaches for his belt. He scans his card and opens the door. You wobble through hurriedly and Bucky drags his feet. He follows you down the hall.
"You know a lot of people," he mutters.
"Some. My work takes me all around. Just like yours."
"Sure," he sniffs.
You slow as you hear noise. You'd rather not make a whole round of small talk. You grab Bucky's sleeve and drag him down a long hall.
"Where are we going?"
"Stage door. We can sneak down the stairs," you explain.
"Won't someone be watching?"
"Sure, and I'll get us through," you assure him. "Just like I've done everything else."
He sucks his teeth, "you're mad."
"I'm not mad, Barnes," you let him go. "Trust me, you would know if I was."
You meet another guard along the way. She stops you and asks for credentials. As you try to search out a suitable way past, she looks past you.
"Wait, oh, I know you," she points at Bucky, "no problem, go right through."
"Know me?" Bucky utters.
"The Winter Soldier," she bubbles. "Sure thing. Go on. Say hi to Cap for me."
He moves stiffly ahead of you and you follow. His metal fingers fidget at his side. You can tell he's uncomfortable. Hell, you are too.
You come out through the stage door and quickly snake around the distracted honorees and presenters, the crew scurrying around like ants in a hill. You get Bucky down the stairs and find the seats reserved for you. 'Guest of S. Wilson.' You sit and he does too.
He sets his feet wide and rests his hands on his thighs. His fingers rub up and down the fabric restlessly. You put your phone on silent and put it in your clutch. You wiggle in the stiff seat and crane to see the doors as guests slowly trickle in.
You peek at Bucky. His jaw is squared, his eyes are unfocused, he stares at the curtains over the stage. You know it's a lot for him. You realise that he's not doing this on purpose.
People line the seats behind you and around you. Their voices break the tenuous calm. You greet a few that are familiar but otherwise bide your time.
When at last the ceremony begins and the lights dim for the brighter ones over the stage, Bucky coughs and you can feel him jittering. His leg is bouncing and he's picking at the edge of his jacket. The host goes through their whole intro as his fidgeting intensifies. The sudden blast of horns makes him jump.
You reach over and put your hand on his. He locks up and squeezes your fingers, so tight he might crack your knuckles. You lean against him gently.
"Barnes, you're doing good," you say.
He doesn't respond. You don't expect him to. He's entirely still. You know he's not there anymore. You bring your other hand over his and rub his knuckles. You'll get him through this just like Lagos.

407 Days
407 days ago, I decided to write Harry Potter fan fiction after having not written creatively in over ten years. I took a couple of old scenes I had written that had never gone anywhere, added one scene from the perspective of Lucius Malfoy, and posted my first chapter on New Year's Eve, 2023.
407 days later, here we are. This has been an absolutely incredible journey, and I am so honored by the outpouring of support I have received along the way. I've found community here in a way that I was missing, and I can honestly say that writing restitution in absentia has fed my soul in a way that I didn't realize I had been longing for. Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so so much for sticking with me, Ginny, and Draco on this journey. I couldn't have done it without you all - they've certainly grown throughout this story, and so have I, and I hope maybe you have too. Hearing people connect with Draco's and Ginny's emotional journeys warms my little therapist heart.
But don't worry - I'm not going anywhere. As you can see, I've created a series for this fic. Anise said it best in a comment last chapter - what happens after the happy ending, given how much these characters have gone through and how much they still have to resolve? Sometime in 2025, I will be releasing a sequel to this fic entitled "where the sky meets the sea." It will be much less of an action-based story and more of an exploration of Ginny and Draco's relationship. My working summary is: "In which Draco Malfoy goes to trauma therapy, as told by a trauma therapist. In which Ginny Weasley deals with the aftermath of accidentally temporarily becoming a god - oops. In which Draco and Ginny learn to love each other and lead fulfilling lives in a post-Voldemort world."
I don't know an exact release date yet, as I need to fully map it out and I am planning on working on some shorter projects first, but sometime in 2025 for sure - I recommend subscribing either to this series or to me as an author on AO3 if you don't want to miss an update! My pacing will also almost certainly slow down, as you've seen over the last couple months. I did the math, and I wrote over 50,000 words every single month of 2024 - very awesome, but definitely not how 2025 will look.
Again, I'm so honored that you've taken this journey with me, and I'd love to hear from you, either here, on AO3, or on Discord. Please check my AO3 profile for a link to it if you don't have it already. My Carrd is also linked there, where you can get a sneak preview of fics I have planned for this year. I'll also be updating my pinned post on Tumblr to better reflect everything that's on my Carrd.
I wish you well, dear readers - restitution in absentia is now complete.

@ user3: CONGRATS FRANCOOOO #argentina 🇦🇷
@ williams: We're so grateful to have Franco on our team, and can't wait to see what he will achieve in these upcoming races!
Melbourne, Australia (2025)
There was no way you could ever do this. Get in a tiny metal race car and go spinning around in circles against nineteen others for almost two hours? That was a tall order for anyone, yet your brother always exceeded expectations. You watched him glide through the track, his papaya car shedding sparks as he pushed the engine to the max. He was incredible, carefully looping around and setting records.
It was his home race; nothing lesser would have been expected. Oscar needed to excel, to survive against the pressure. Over the past few weeks, it was like he was glued to the sim, practicing this circuit repeatedly, making sure every movement was executed flawlessly. This was the final countdown: FP2, meaning that in less than a day, Oscar's skills would be put to the test.
Behind you, your best friend Georgia, wolf-whistled. Lando Norris, Oscar's teammate, had just entered the paddock. His curly hair was obscured by his classic neon-green helmet, his race suit hanging loose around his waist. "I'm so ready..." You heard him say to Zach, and then you turned your attention back on Oscar, who was on his final practice lap.
The car moved around as if it were a dagger, slicing through the track like the weapon it was. When he finally slowed to a halt, you rushed to meet him. He exited the car, removing his helmet, chest heaving with exertion. "Hey, Y/N," he said, smiling.
"Hi, Osc! You did amazing!"
He flushed, not one for compliments. "Sure. Where's Mom?"
"I think she went inside because it was too hot. I'll go get her," you said brightly, trailing after him.
Oscar shook his head. "It's OK, don't worry. Stay out here a bit, I think Lando's about to go on."
"I don't really care about him," you blurted. "I was waiting until you were done to go walk around the track."
Oscar raised one eyebrow, but didn't say anything. Even though you were younger than him by only five years, he acted like you were still a child. You were eighteen, and just one semester away from going to uni! You wouldn't have constant supervision there.
"Mom said I could," you pouted. "You're not in charge of me, I'm an adult now."
"Yeah, but you can't read a map, and you're naive," Oscar pointed out. "You trust everyone."
You gave him a look. "Like that's a bad thing. Anyways, I'll see you later!"
Oscar hugged you quickly, his eyes watching you concernedly, and you rushed off to explore the circuit.
Tumblr media
Melbourne, Australia (2025 / continued)
You exited the McLaren paddock, tugging off your jacket and tying it around your waist securely. It had been a while since you'd been able to go to a Grand Prix; your parents hadn't let you because of all your studies. But this was Oscar's home race, and it was monumental. After months of arguing (and failed attempts at bribery), you'd finally convinced them to let you tag along.
The sun beat down on you, warming you from head to toe. It felt nice to finally feel a bit of a breeze, since you'd been cooped up in your room all week, prepping for your finals.
As you wandered through the grounds, you watched as fans cheered for their favorite drivers. You saw a few Australian flags here and there. One even had Oscar's face on it, next to a koala on a eucalyptus tree and a kangaroo, and you laughed.
You passed the Mercedes and Haas motor homes, where you saw Kimi Antonelli and Ollie Bearman talking. They were close to your age, and potential friends, but whenever you tried to talk to them, Oscar ushered you away.
"They're guys. And F1 drivers. They can't be trusted," he told you.
You rolled your eyes. "So that means I can't trust you."
Eventually, you found yourself in the Williams paddock, watching as they prepped the car for its final practice before the race. A man with the most attractive dimples you'd ever seen was talking animatedly with his race engineer, discussing potential strategies.
You were enthralled by his lilting accent, caught on every word and phrase. He finished with the race engineer and turned to his car, but then he stopped, noticing your presence.
You were wearing a bright orange blouse, and the jacket wrapped around your waist had Oscar's number on it, immediately incriminating you.
"Hello there," the man said, a grin dancing on his lips. "I'm Franco. And you are?"
Seven words, and you were hooked.

Two weeks after the Melbourne Grand Prix
You flopped down on your bed, feet kicked up in the air as you texted none other than Franco, the same driver you'd met in the Williams paddock. He was funny and flirtatiously silly, but he was smart too. You had a lot of conversations about your upcoming university days, and he gave great advice on the topic.
"You don't always have to listen to your brother," he texted you a few nights after you'd met. "You're your own person, cielo."
You two had bonded over your mutual love of horse riding, a hobby of yours that you were trying to continue despite all the stress of the past year. Franco sent you a few photos of his horse, and one where he was shirtless. You spent more time ogling that picture than you'd care to admit.
Talking to Franco was therapeutic, and you didn't want to hide the blossoming friendship (or more?) that you two had. But you knew how overly protective Oscar was of you. You didn't want to spark a rivalry that could play out poorly on track. It wasn't worth the drama.
You weren't going to avoid telling your brother forever, but you wanted to wait a while to make sure that you didn't give him an aneurysm for nothing. Franco had a reputation as a playboy, like all other F1 drivers, but he was still young and a rising star. He could be using you — at least, that's what the little voice in the back of your mind warned. It spent too much time listening and believing everything Oscar had told you.
There was a knock on your door, and you jumped, turning the screen off so that no one could see the conversation you'd been having.
I've never met a girl like you before.
You're my princesa, you know that? All pure and perfect. I wonder how long it would take for me to absolutely ruin you.
"Dinner's ready," your mother called through the door.
"Thanks, I'll be there in a minute!" you responded. Once you heard her footsteps recede, you texted Franco that you had to leave, and hurried outside, your cheeks blushing red.

The Confrontation:
You fidgeted under Oscar's heavy stare. Even through a phone screen, his brown eyes pierced you. "I need to tell you something, but you can't flip out, OK?" you said.
"Oh God, what did you do now?" Oscar responded, preparing for the worst.
You shook your head, putting your palms up in a gesture of surrender. "Nothing bad! I swear!" You hesitated. "Well...I've been talking to someone. A guy, for a bit now."
Oscar sucked in a breath. "Not Lando."
Your jaw dropped. "Absolutely not."
"Good. Who is it, then?"
You closed your eyes, praying to God that Oscar wouldn't explode from anger. "Um...Franco?" You waited for the name to register.
Oscar blinked. "The new Williams driver?"
You nodded. "Yeah, that's who it is."
"That's who you chose?"
"Yeah?" you questioned, cocking your head to the side in confusion. "Is there something I should know? I mean, other than the fact that he's a supposed playboy and —"
"— He's fine, I suppose," Oscar mused under his breath. "Just be careful, alright?"
You froze in shock. "Yeah, I will be. Thanks for not freaking out."
"You're eighteen, I can't stop you from being romantically interested in someone. All I ask is that you don't engage in activities that should be done after marriage." Oscar pursed his lips. "I love you, Y/N. I'm always looking out for you."
"I know, and I'm thankful. You're the best older brother in the world."

The Scars Kept Hidden
A snippet from an unpublished drarry fic
Okay... @bradleysass won, I'm releasing my wip arsenal. (Definitely not just because it's easier content than actually finishing these wips...)
Enjoy this snippet from an eighth year drarry fic!!
"Where have you been?" Pansy demanded as he entered the common room, "You do realise how late it is, don't you?"
Draco waved a hand dismissively, "They aren't enforcing curfew on Eighth years, you know that."
"C'mon, Dray." Blaise sighed, standing up from his armchair, "We were worried. Where were you?"
"I was with Potter." Draco conceded, only because he knew they probably were worried.
With the amount of people out to get him, he had to be extra careful not to go out alone.
"You were with Potter?" Pansy repeated slowly, "Are you okay?"
He knew what she meant by that. Despite the concern in her eyes, he knew she was asking what he did to him.
"Oh, for the love of Salazar. I am capable of being around him without hexing him, you know?"
Pansy held up her hands, "Alright. I'm sorry." She shared a look with Blaise, "Did anything... was anything said?" She asked.
Draco cocked an eyebrow, "No, we stuck to handwritten notes the whole time, actually." He quipped.
"You know what I mean. About the- About the trial?"
This made Draco freeze, he hadn't been expecting that question,
"What about it?" He asked quietly.
"Did he say anything at all about it? About who he might have spoken for?" Blaise asked, hesitating, "Or against?"
Suddenly it all made sense. The way they were looking at him like some sort of wounded puppy. how they stayed up waiting for him to get back.
He let out an irritated laugh, dripping with venom,
"Oh, Merlin, I can't believe I didn't think to ask! Maybe next time the two of us are having a friendly chat about the war that traumatised an entire population of people, I'll be sure to bring it up. Maybe I'll even ask about his parents next, or what it was like being dead!" He snapped, turning around and marching towards the boy's dormitories.
He ignored Pansy calling after him, ignored the knocking at the door and the quiet apologies.
He couldn't believe they thought he would actually ask something like that, as if he and Potter were just dying to rehash some of the worst moments of their lives.
Draco stayed awake for a long time, his head swimming with thoughts of Harry Potter.
He couldn't help it, the way Potter had treated him like they were friends.
He knew it was only temporary, they had acted that way when they were alone, but Draco knew the glares and sarcastic comments would be back within the first five minutes of actually having class together.
"Draco?" Blaise's voice drifted through the darkness of their room late that night.
"Hmm?"
"Do you think you'll finally let Potter go this year?" He asked.
"Let him go?" Draco repeated, "How do you mean?"
"You know what I mean, Dray." He whispered.
The knowing tone of his voice made Draco's heart skip a beat.
"I'm afraid I don't, actually." He replied, attempting in vain to keep the defensive tone out of his own voice.
"Alright. Just..." He paused. Draco sat up and looked at him, his expression was worried even through the darkness, "Just try not to get hurt, yeah?" He asked.
Draco rolled his eyes, "Potter couldn't hurt me even if I was standing still and unarmed."
Blaise just shook his head quietly, a defeated sigh that said all too much falling from his lips, "Goodnight, Dray." He whispered.
"Night, Blaise." Draco turned over, pulling the covers up past his shoulders.
He couldn't remember the last time Blaise had been that serious with him and it unnerved him greatly.
He tried not to think of the implications as he drifted off to sleep.

A few days ago I was running on around 3h sleep two days straight and I was scrolling through summaries of MLB fanfics as one does and I read (wrongly) that the problem of the fic was "Hawkmoth isn't gay". But instead of realizing my mistake at once my half-asleep brain just went; "Well, yes that is the real problem isn't it."

whatever afterlife exists in SGE must be the funniest shit ever imagine being some Jaunt Jolie peasant who gets a little too in the way of the Snake and dying only to see The Literal School Master cheering the Snake on. Imagine dying of like cholera or something and taking a little Ghost Vacation to Camelot and seeing the King of Camelot - who's dead, apparently - beating the shit out of some random other boy with weird eyes. imagine how flesh and blood went down. Do you think they all had popcorn for that
#I've noticed I have a pattern of putting a vast majority of what I have to say in the tags. and im doing it again#first of all I'm pretty sure there's confirmation that there is some sort of afterlife in SGE#in the chapter Dovey dies there's a brief appearance from ghost lady lesso#and in F+B there's a tedros line “the only place scum like that can be king is in hell”#which is immediately followed by the coldest japeth line I can remember but this aint about him#second of all this is largely an assumption but there's reasonable evidence to support the fact that Rafal was actually on Japeth's side#given that he wanted him to kill Sophie (I think) or just punish her a bit for killing him#it's actually left intentionally vague as to whether or not ARIC was on Japeth's side#in F+B tedros' version of Aric isn't and says that he a) wants nothing to do with Camelot (or Rhian)#and b) didn't want japeth to kill like thousands of people for him#so we really just. don't know#what I would also say is the fact that the prequels characters and the main series characters probably had some DEEP conversations#do you think the old Saders and the new Saders argued about who saw it coming first#or vulcan and Aric were besties (many areas of common interest. violence comes to mind)#I would kill for a version of one true king where there's just annotations from the ghosts#someone should write a fic or something#god that's a lot of tags#sge#tsfgae#school for good and evil#the school for good and evil#japethposting#sfgae#this was a draft if you couldn't tell

Some innocent soul: oh you like [anime title]? :)
Me, trying to sound normal: haha yeah 👍
Also me: *kicking the thousands of reblogs on Tumblr of gifsets and handful of fics I wrote about two characters 69ing under my bed*
#personal#WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO SAY#IN THIS SITUATION#it's always normal questions like ohh how long have ypu been watching#i feel like any response is some kind of flex as a fan but in all actuality I'm underplaying it because I'm embarrassed#like sur esyre sure uh since the first episode and also i rewatched it three times and i read the interviews by the creator#sometimes i think of it before bed and imagine self insert characters#it dominated my free time for like three months at least and it's not even my most specialist boy#i buy merch and it inspires my original writing as well#i have essays on my favorite aspects of the show and have multiple favorite pairings for each of the main cast#oh you mean what was my favorite episode. and what's my favorite character. normal person questions a normal person could answer#well you'd think my favorite episode might be where my favorite ship meets but actually it's the finale because i feel that it represents-#ahhh okay so not answering it like that either#you know what i mean??????? talking to non fandom people about fandom stuff is mortifying#it's not like something like star trek or Discworld is fundamentally different but I'm not writing fic y'know#like I'm THINKING fic but I'm not writing it#I'm not so invested i can quote lines#okay that's a lie i can quote some lines#but- it's like there tiger tiger where i can't be normal about it either vs how to be a werewolf#you know?? one I can't speak about lest i traumatize a non fandom person#the other i could be like (bored) huh oh yeah what was the last panel? oh huh i guess i didn't read that one#except people don't read webcomics so it's moot
