How To (Realistically) Make A Habit Of Writing
To clarify: Works with my autism. WORKS WITH MY AUTISM!!! I’ve been meeting my goals since I made them my New Year’s resolution! Anyway I’m so sick of all those ‘how to’ guides that don’t actually tell you what the process is they’re just like ‘just do it, but don’t burn yourself out, do what’s best for you!’ because you’re not telling me what I’m not supposed to be burning myself out over but okay, so I made my own. Hope this helps
1. Choose your fighter metric. What works better for you as a measurement of your progress; time spent writing or your word count? Personally I get very motivated and encouraged by seeing my word count go up and making a note of where it should be when I’m done, so I measure by that. At the same time, a lot of people are also very discouraged by their word count and it can negatively impact their motivation to write, and in that case you may be better off working from how much time you spend writing rather than where the word count is
2. Choose your starter Pokémon time frame. How often can you write before it starts to feel like a chore or a burden rather than something fun you look forward to? Many people believe that they have to write daily, but for some people this can do more harm than good. Maybe every two or three days? Weekly? Figure out what fits your schedule and go with it
3. Choose your funny third joke goal. Now that you’ve got your chosen time frame to complete your goal in, what’s a reasonable goal to aim to complete within that time frame based on the metric you chose? If your metric is your word count, how much can you reasonably and consistently write within your chosen time frame? If your metric is time spent writing, how much time can you reasonably and consistently spend writing within that time? Maybe 1000 words per week works, or maybe 10 minutes per day? The goal here is to find something that works for you and your own schedule without burning you out
4. Trial and error. Experiment with your new target and adapt it accordingly. Most people can’t consistently write 1667 words per day like you do in NaNoWriMo, so we want to avoid that and aim somewhere more reasonable. If you feel like it’s too much to do in such a short time frame, either give yourself less to do or more time to do it in. If you find yourself begrudgingly writing so often that it constantly feels more like a chore than something fun, maybe consider adapting things. And if you think that you gave yourself too much wiggle room and you could do more than this consistently, give yourself more of a challenge. Everything needs to suit you and your pace and needs
5. Run your own race. Don’t feel like you’re not accomplishing enough in comparison to others or not working fast enough to satisfy some arbitrary feeling of doubt. Everybody works at their own pace and slower work doesn’t mean worse work. You could be on one word per day and you’ll still see consistent results, which is still one word per day more than you could originally count on. All progress is progress, regardless of its speed

What’s Past is Past 🕰️
Hello again my siblings in Christ!! It’s me, your sister in Christ, Elle! 🎀
I created this blog to begin strengthening my relationship with God and I truly think it’s one of the best beginnings I’ve had this year 🥹🥹
We have officially entered a new year once again. 2025 has started and that means new beginnings for all of us! 🎉
And what better way to greet the new year than with Christ Himself?
So sit back, relax, and begin with God 🙏
📜Bible Verse of The Day
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
- 2 Corinthians 5:17 [NIV]
💌Something’s in Your Inbox!
Hey siblings, 2024 has ended, so take some time to quietly reflect and contemplate how your year has been.
If it has been your year, a year full of blessings and delight, then I rejoice with you. I’m incredibly glad that you found happiness this year and that God has bestowed upon you continuous mercy and grace.
But if 2024 hasn’t been the kindest to you, then I hope this will reassure you for the new year and I pray that this year brings you more joy.
I get it, this year has certainly been one of the hardest for me. I experienced some of the biggest heartbreaks in my life this year, and they were definitely difficult to overcome and move on from.
But that’s why a new year is such a blessing for us all. The glittering fireworks, blaring music, and celebrations are the temporary thrills of the new year.
A new year symbolizes hope, it represents how far you’ve gone in life. Yeah, maybe you’re still sooo far away from your achievements, goals, and resolutions— but you’ve also come a long way from where you’ve started.
All of that, made possible by our amazing Father in Heaven, God.
What’s past is past— the old is gone, the new has come. Anyone who worships God wholeheartedly and comes to Him will surely receive a bountiful new beginning this year.
If 2024 hasn’t been kind to you, then I trust that you will run to God with all your problems in 2025. Sometimes, God challenges us in life to bring us closer to Him, it’s His way of bringing us back on the right path.
The heartbreaks and festivities we have here on earth are temporary, but God is eternal. Therefore, you must go to Him, first and foremost.
Start all your beginnings with Christ 💕
2024 was full of struggles— maybe as a result, we chose to turn to sin, we chose to stray away from God. We are only human, mistakes happen, but through Christ we are forgiven and our sins are forgotten.
This is your chance to start anew with God, trust in Him and believe with all your heart that this year will bring immense change to your life.
God has a plan. Don’t stress about the year too much. He loves you, and He won’t forsake you.
Rejoice in God this year, and He will bless you beyond measure!! 🎊
I HEAR RINGINGGG 🥳🥳
📞God’s on the Line
I hope this eased your worries about the new year, even just a lil bit 🤏
If you’re still anxious about what 2025 will bring, worry not because we’ll start it with a prayer!!
Father God,
Thank You for the great blessing of the new year. Thank You for giving me the chance to start fresh and have begin again. I humbly ask that You bestow constant blessings upon me this year. I pray that You heal me from all of the heartbreaks and pain I experienced in the past. Please guide me by giving me wisdom and discernment this year. I declare that this year will be the best one I’ve had yet, and I claim it in Your name.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen! 💫
(you may continue this prayer on your own and make it a more personal one, pray abt ur life, ur goals, and the struggles u may face this year— talk it out with God)
HAPPIEST NEW YEAR MY BROTHERS AND SISTERSSSS !! I hope this year marks the start of a new journey with Christ for all of you! God bless you! 🥰🥰

How your going to transform your life in 2025
Most people give up on their New Year’s resolutions before the end of January. This is because they often are too ambitious with their goals or it’s because their goals don’t align with what they actually want from life so it’s hard to keep going. By following these steps you’ll be able to create goals that actually align with your core purpose and beliefs.
Write down all of your goals all of them break them into theses categories: Mental, Physical, Spiritual, Financial
Figure out what it is you really want —> you want to make a lot of money but what you really want is to feel secure or you want to lose weight but you really want people to love and care about you. This can be different and often times requires deep thought and patience to uncover the real need behind the goal
Find the common themes in what you really want —> I want to feel safe
Figure out what is blocking you from getting that need met —> it could be beliefs you learned growing up it could be experiences you had in your past. This can potentially be very triggering if you have a history of trauma consider your mental state before doing this and do this in a safe space.
Challenge those beliefs for every limiting belief write down a new one that challenges the old idea —> limiting belief I’m not worthy of loved challenging belief I believe that humans have inherent worth and value. I am human, therefore I must have inherent worth and value
Create affirmations with those new beliefs —> I am worthy of love. I have value just because I exist
Rewrite your goals —> I want to be financially stable, I want to create healthy habits to support my physical health

end of year ment :<
the new year always makes me feel really sentimental… i’ve never really enjoyed it, and i don’t think that will change any time soon, but still i wanna share my appreciation for anyone who sees this :)
i’m too lazy to make a wrapped for this, but i know i downloaded the app in october and started posting in november, and i’m very happy to have done so. i have returned to something i used to enjoy, and met so many new people in the process :)
so first, i’ll give appreciation to all of my moots, you know who you are ♡ i won’t tag you all just to save you from being disturbed, but truly i appreciate you all. you have no idea how hard i smile seeing our interactions, so thank you for that and thank you for making me feel comfortable starting this account up. i hope we have many more interactions in the new year!
next, i will share my most popular and my favorite work of this year !!
my most popular is my first one ever, caramel :> lowkey i still cringe at this, being that it reminds me of the really weird and cringy stuff i wrote when i first started (a loooooong time ago) so i can’t believe so many people liked it ??? but at 1k+ notes, caramel featuring lee donghyuck is my most popular. thank you to that and everyone who enjoyed it for creating a window to the caramel universe ʕ ᵔⰙᵔ⠕ʔ
for my favorite, i don’t really think i have one yet.. i am proud of all my works and think they’re good enough, but none of them really resonate with me like that. however, if i had to pick, it’d probably be easy. i like my fics to be the product of my emotions and be something more emotional rather than words on a page, and i think that one really does that. it’s one of many i wrote as a method of venting, and i still like to look back at it with happines. to easy featuring lee jeno, congratulations for being my favorite outlet for my emotions !!! (˶◜ᵕ◝˶)
as for any resolutions, i don’t really have that many revolving around my presence here. however i would like to do some things like write longer fics, expand to more fandoms, gain more moot interactions, have more svt moots (i love carats omg), and i think that’s it !!
as for outside world ones, i just want to get out more. i don’t act like it on here but i’m very antisocial and very black cat energy.. i don’t go outside much and while i prefer staying by myself, i’d like to take myself out and do more things for myself. technically i am productive, having many activities to part take in, but when i have downtime it feels a little too empty.
now.. i don’t have much else to say ! i am very sentimental, and i guess it comes with being a svt ult but the end of the year and really anything ending makes me really sad for some reason.. just the idea of time flying by, while feeling like i didn’t do much of anything makes me sad. i don’t want to grow older, especially feeling like my youth is being wasted, but i hope with my new friends here and the goal of doing better in the outside world, i can enjoy things like this more !!! i’m not sure if this is my last post of 2024, but for now this is my little sentiment for you all. i love you all and wish you nothing but the best in 2025 ♡⸜(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)⸝♡

A/N: The team make resolutions.
***
Deeks: So, what’s your New Year’s resolution?
Eric: I would like to make smarter choices when it comes to investing in friend’s poorly planned business models.
Deeks, amused: That’s oddly specific, but ok. Nell?
Nell, thoughtfully: I would like to spend more time with friends.
Kensi: That’s a good one.
Deeks: What about you, Sam?
Sam, shaking his head: You know I don’t believe resolutions.
Callen: Didn’t you just say you want to be less judgmental and run marathon?
Sam, glaring at him: Those are goals and that was supposed to be a private conversation. What about you, G? What are your big plans for next year?
Callen: I think I’m going to climb Mount Everest.
Sam: Now I know my resolution. It’s to spend less time with you.
Deeks: What a wonderful sentiment.
Kensi: My resolution is to be less afraid, make more bold choices. To be brave.
Deeks, sharing a smile: I can get behind that.
Callen: What about you resolve to spend less time flirting in front of your coworkers?
Deeks: Nah, that’s never going to happen.

A Message To The World
I know that a lot has happened this year, not just on a personal level, but worldwide too. I know there’s many things still happening. I know things are bleak on many levels. But they always say it’s darkest before the dawn. I’m really proud of everyone who’s keeping hope alive in these times. Keep the fires in your hearts warm, everyone. We need each other more than ever.
So that’s what I want everyone to remember this Christmas and as we enter 2024. Even though it’s easy to feel alone, the amount of people coming together for good causes worldwide has truly restored my faith in humanity. If there’s anything that this tumultuous year has taught me, it’s that now, more than ever before, we need to stand together. Shoulder to shoulder. Hand in hand.
Humanity is a powerful force. Ultimately, the forces of good will triumph. Those who seek to divide and conquer us don’t stand a chance, when all is said and done.
This Christmas, I wish - no, I pray - for all wars to end, for all who are trapped to be free, for the hellish heat consuming our planet to be cooled down, for the wealth to be shared equally among us all and for humanity to rebuild and rise from the ashes once again. I know it can happen. I know we can make it happen. And I know that a higher power - whether you believe it comes from God(s), from within our hearts or both - will guide us to victory.
Next year is going to be the Year of the Dragon, according to the Chinese zodiac. Specifically, 2024 will be the year of the wood dragon, a symbol of new beginnings and prosperity. I feel pretty optimistic about the future in that regard, on a personal level and as a whole. And I’m going to let that optimism fuel me when taking action. I will never stop striving for a better world, a new world. A post-capitalist world.
The world’s healing journey may be a long one. The healing journeys we all take will also be long. But we will get there. We will achieve our goals. The capitalist system will not survive. But we will. We will rise again.
Let’s all make a New Year’s resolution; to do all that we can to make a positive impact on our world. Whether that’s engaging in activism, spreading awareness, educating ourselves, or just building ourselves and the ones we love up. Everything we do counts.
To the reader of this post, you may wonder “what can I do? I’m just one person”. You are capable of more than you realise. Whatever challenges you’re facing, you can and will overcome them. Whichever battles you’re fighting, you will win. I believe in you. I believe in us, all the good people of the world.
The oppressors will fall from power. We will not only survive, but with time, we will thrive again. Keep fighting. Keep doing all that you can. Keep striving. Keep your hope alive.
Stay safe, everyone. It’s going to be ok. The sun will rise again.

Happy New Year! Ready to start Manifesting???
I can’t believe how quickly the year went by. Are you excited for this year? I know I am. This is the time where there are endless opportunities to re-invent yourself and your life.
Here’s your New Year's Affirmation. Repeat after me:
This is the year I manifest my dream life.
Because let me tell you, you definitely can!
The energy of the new year is one of clear, abundant energy. Everything that happened in the past doesn’t matter anymore. You get to decide where to go from here on out. So, if you’ve been unconsciously manifesting things you rather not experience (we all do), now is the time to shift that energy and manifest new, beautiful and abundant things into your life.
The new year is one of the best times to manifest new things into your life, so take advantage of it!
You’ve set your intentions through new year resolutions and now it’s time to keep that manifesting energy going. Don’t know how? I’ve got you so covered.
I’ve dabbled in a lot of manifestation practices, but there is one practice that I always keep coming back to and that’s a vision board.
Creating a vision board is so much fun and they make such powerful manifestation tools. Because you are placing your attention and creative energy into making your vision board, your intentions are amplified and you’re more likely to manifest your desires into your life.
If you’re not sure how to start a vision board or need a little guidance, check out my post on How to Create a Vision Board and Achieve your Goals, where I take you step by step to create the best vision board to manifest your dreams.
So, it’s time to get creative and completely re-invent your life. Grab a board, some fun decorations and get to work!
Happy Manifesting!
Until next time, Andie🥰

@tophatz asked: 12. entry made discussing their hopes and dreams. (( Also ps. THIS MEME IS LITERALLY MADE FOR JEKYLL HOLY WOW. ))
December 31st, 11:20 P.M.
The new year is nearly upon us, and there is still so much I wanted to accomplish before this year is over. But I am undeterred. I will simply adjust my goals and resolutions for the upcoming year appropriately.
In the short term, I would like to read at least one hundred books again this year. I have met this goal last year, and I wish to meet it again this year — the only problem being that I will be incredibly busy with my upcoming experiments this new year.
Speaking of said experiments, I wish to expand my work to the real world, use test subjects for my analyses. I know this is a massive step to take, and it is likely going to take months, if not more, to be approved, but I am determined, and I believe that determination is enough to accomplish almost anything.
I would also like to work on my physique. This is not a specific goal, and I know this, but I believe that exercise, even in small doses, contributes greatly to a happy and healthy life. I am no athlete, nor do I wish to be; I simply desire a body that I can be more confident in.
In the long term, I wish to change the world. This has been my goal from the start. It sounds absurd, I know, but it is certainly possible. I know how intelligent I am. I know I can work hard to achieve my dreams. I simply wish to be remembered as a brilliant scientist, someone who not only accomplished great things, but [someone] who helped others do the same. I know not exactly what I will accomplish, but I do know that I have a unique perspective and innovative ideas, ideas that others are either impressed by or horrified by. To be honest, I don’t mind either way, as long as they have an impact.
It is almost midnight. This year has been quite an eventful one, and I have accomplished much, but there is still more that must be done. I’m looking forward to facing the challenges head-on. And even if times get hard, I shall never give up on my dreams.

What are my goals for 2023? AKA a late new years resolution because I wanted some time to really think about it
Lose 20 lbs - isn’t this sort of basic for everyone? I’m in a healthy weight range, but I still don’t care for how my clothes fit me. I also love a cute, oversized look and I know I’ll feel better this way. I want to do this in a healthy way
Maintain a stable, active lifestyle - I always feel better when I work out, my goal is 3-4 times a week because my long 14 hour shifts I clearly won’t exercise those days
Stop eating fast food so often - even though I maintained my weight loss, I still eat out so much!! I just...really love it and I know it isn’t good for me. I need more moderation in my life
Good oral hygiene - it’s sad how little I floss. I would love to eventually get aligners, but those are some heft prices
Healthy hair - my goal is as little heat and dye as possible. I want less frizzy hair!!
Good skin care - we’re at that age now
Purchase a home - rent went up $300 last year and it no longer makes sense to pay what I do for a small apartment. I would love to invest in a long term purchase that gives me equity for my future
Save more money - one of the awesome things I did last year was start a small emergency fund and I would love to make it even bigger
Stick to my monthly budget - it’s difficult to not go over when you have leftover money instead of saving it. I’m a spender!
Start investing more in retirement - more than what my job matches, at least
Date more - I want to share my life with someone special
Continue minimalism - I can’t believe how much simpler my apartment is without all the stuff it holds!! I want to see how far I can stretch this, but not to an extreme measure
Continue taking vacations - I already have my next New York trip and a concert in Atlanta in March

A Fabulous 2025 by Tara Randel
I can’t believe it’s another new year! Everyone says time passes quickly, but the last month sure flew by. After celebrating the holidays and just returning from a camping trip to usher in the new year, I have a few thoughts. First, I hope 2025 is a fabulous year for all. I don’t make resolutions, but I do have goals I strive to keep each year. This year, my top issues are: Bible Study. I love…

2025
It’s been a long while. I published a wee book in 2024 and I want to say it took all my focus, but that’s not a good excuse for not writing here. It’s a memoir, and this blog did contribute to it in a lot of ways, because I’d chronicled so much of my life – so much that might have disappeared in the mists of my inadequate memory.
It’s true that I’m overall happier (more content, I should say – I am old enough not to expect too much) than I’ve been, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to write about.
My goals for 2024 were to try to learn how to draw and publish the book. I think that was it? We can safely guess that “take care of that mess of a spare room once and for all” was on it, but two out of three ain’t bad in horseshoes or resolutions.
Oh, and walk every day! This time last year, I was researching treadmills and I’m happy to say that is firmly a daily habit. I should probably increase my time/distance, but I will not commit to it. I just upped my speed recently, and I’m happy where I am for now.
I have also, since my bloodwork in June or thereabouts, cut down severely on my sugar and carb intake and feel certain that a re-check will show improvements. I have never been this disciplined for this long and I’m very proud of my streak.
They were likely just procrastination efforts, but I did add sketching and watercolor to my life and that boggles my mind. It’s not that I’m not interested, but willing and able are two different things. As these things go, thanks to my big mouth and gift giving occasions, I am now in possession of veritable piles of supplies. For the new year, I’d like to figure out how to honor both of these things. I am a more successful doodler than watercolorist, and it would be nice to make strides in both areas. I thought I’d focus on birds but, dear god, are they complicated little creatures. This year, I will focus my sketch practice on human faces, and I will find and take a proper watercolor beginner’s course.
I must market the book. I didn’t write it or publish so that it will sit unknown, gathering e-dust. It was a tremendous effort, but I need to focus on making it findable by people who might like it, and this will be difficult in a different way. My failures have come down largely to not being able to say “here, I did a thing!” It’s what the book is about, for cry-eye.
The launch has gone well, and I’ve had lots of positive reinforcement, albeit from my inner circle of friends, acquaintances, and colleagues. I have reason to believe they are sincere in their feedback and, all in all, it’s been a successful proof-of-concept period. So, onward to the larger world it will go.
I will be cutting back on my connected life. I am not happy looking at my phone, though I do it often enough. I spend tons of time on “second screens” while other things are going on, and I will do my best to focus on things I most want to focus on.
I think that’s it, except for “take care of the spare room once and for all.” I swear I will do this. I use it as a dumping ground lately, and that is good in that my living spaces are more tidy and spare, and I can feel the difference to my mood and outlook in those rooms. I must clear the clutter.
It’s going to be a hard year for so many people. I don’t know what’s coming, but I’m more aware than usual that Things are Definitely on the Horizon. Maybe that’s why most of my list is about creating calm and order within. Creating in general. That’s what I’ve turned to, and I think it’ll be important to my ability to handle what’s next.
Happy New Year.

1. What did you do this year that you’d never done before?
I was struggling to think of something for this question before I realised the answer is go to court. It wasn’t for me, but was a significant and very hard day, and it’s a bummer that’s my answer, but that’s part of the story of my year.
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions?
I don't really make them any more.I had some goals I know I didn’t really live up to but that’s okay, I think.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.
5. What cities/states/countries did you visit?
None. This was a pretty tight year financially so no travel.
6. What would you like to have next year that you lacked this year?
Just that little bit more stability. That should be coming.
7. What date(s) from this year will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
The most memorable days are not particularly good ones, but they’re important nonetheless, I think.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I started and completed a postgrad degree! Just a graduate certificate but still, it was something I had been wanting to do for a while, and finally just did it. There were so many moments when I wanted to quit or delay it but I powered through and I learned so much, and now have a grad cert in Gender Studies, and I am very proud of that.
I also wrote and performed my first one-woman show which got great reviews, and I cannot believe that was this year.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Nothing major, just lots of little things where I didn’t make the right call or let things get on top of me, but hey, it’s all a process.
10. What other hardships did you face?
Financially things were a real stress, as well as some family stuff that was really difficult. A lot of this year was also about supporting my partner through some really rough times and that was for sure the biggest thing.
11. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing that major, though I did get diagnosed with fibromyalgia, which explains the chronic pain I’ve been in for years.
12. What was the best thing you bought?
No big major purchases really – just the little things they kept us going.
13. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My partner has just continued to be wonderful and I am so proud of what he’s got through this year.
14. Whose behaviour made you appalled?
Had to deal with some parent complaints this year that contained some of the most bigoted behaviour I had ever encountered in real life.
15. Where did most of your money go?
Rent and household expenses is the very boring but realistic answer.
16. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Future plans, including building a house.
17. What song will always remind you of this year?
I basically just had The Tortured Poets Department on repeat…
18. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. Happier or sadder? Sadder but with more hope.
ii. Thinner or fatter? Fatter
iii. Richer or poorer? Poorer but we’re getting there.
19. What do you wish you’d done more of? Reading and writing.
20. What do you wish you’d done less of? Mindless scrolling.
21. How did you spend Christmas? Lunch with my extended family, which was a bit hard due to some messy stuff going on, including my grandma’s Alzeimers progressing very far, but it was okay.
22. Did you fall in love this year?
I did not know it was possible to be in love the way we are. I sold myself short for years. It feels like a waste of time, but god, I cannot believe how lucky I am to have it now.
This is what I wrote two years ago and then left it, and it still applies.
23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year? I don’t think so.
24. What was your favorite show? We watched M*A*S*H which I’d never properly watched all the way through, and that was great.
25. What was the best book you read? Someone Will Love You In All Your Damaged Glory by Raphael Bob-Waksberg. Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery of the year? I did not really discover anything new, because I am a creature of habit. I did start listening to a lot of Maisie Peters.
27. What was your favorite film?
Film that came out this year - Goodrich
Films I watched for the first time – Spartacus, Silver City, Once My Mother, Your Fat Friend, Millenium Actress, The Full Monty.
I also went to a cinema event where we marathoned all five Twilight movies in a row, and that ruled.
28. What was your favorite meal?
I actually cannot think of anything particularly memorable, that sucks.
29. What did you want and get?
A new job, though I wasn’t exactly looking for it, but when the opportunity came out it was so perfect, and I am still a bit in awe of how it all fit into place.
30. What did you want and not get?
To get in a better financial position, but we are on our way.
31. What did you do on your birthday and how old did you turn?
I turned 36. Nothing special.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Said it before, but having more financial stability and freedom sure would be nice. – Last year’s response still applies!!!
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept of the year?
Comfortable. Embracing my body. Showing my tattoos. As sustainable as possible.
Wrote this two years ago. Stand by it. (Am I getting to the point in my life where most of this answers will be the same??)
34. What kept you sane?
My dogs. My friends. My boyfriend. Writing. Podcasts. Taylor Swift's music. – Still accurate, Me From The Past
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you admire the most?
I genuinely cannot think of one.
36. What political issue stirred you the most? The continued genocide in Gaza.
37. Who did you miss? Cannot think of anyone…
38. Who was the best new person you met?
I haven’t really met any new people, which is fine.
39. What valuable life lesson did you learn this year?
Just keep going and you’ll make it through.
40. What is a quote or song lyric that sums up your year?
You lift me up
You brush me down
You lift me up
Turn me around
I must have been alright in the last life
To be lyin' here with you
Here with you
- The Whitlams,. In The Last Life
Saw them twice this year. Was absolutely awesome.

Real talk, my only New Year’s resolutions are currently to:
Limit phone time. Something I’m already doing a horrible job of, but I think what I’m going to do is start only allowing myself to check my phone at certain intervals and limit internet stuff to the physical computer for only a certain amount of time a day. Mostly, I just wanna stop feeling like I always need my phone in my hands which results in a lot of mindless scrolling. If I want to go on the computer to work on my fic(s) or play sims or something, I will allow that without a limit (within reason of course) since it is an actual hobby, opening and closing apps all day is not.
Read more books or listen to more audiobooks. I didn’t reach my book goal this year on Goodreads, but I did consume more actual published books this year than I have in a long time which is still a good thing. I will just do better next year.
In addition to that though, I’d also like to read more fics. I’ve felt very disconnected from the fandom because I stopped reading fics within the fandom I write for out of guilt. I always felt like if I had time to read, I should be working on my own writing. That or I’d compare and despair. I want to read more so I can leave comments because the comment drought is so real. The ratio between people who read and those who leave comments is not great and I’d like to do my part.
I’d also like to work more on going out in public and challenging my agoraphobia. This year was the best year I’ve had since pre covid lockdowns and of course the onset of my agoraphobia and diagnosis, but I’m often still not going out into public unless it’s unavoidable and I always need a safe person with me unless it’s like the dollar store or the pharmacy.
Hmmm other than that just general wellness goals, cooking more/eating better, getting more exercise, keeping up with self care and cleaning to keep depression at bay.
Also staying off eating disorder related social media. I’ve been doing okay, I left the group I was in because frankly I was tired of the constant pity parties with zero action taken. Trust me, I get that it’s difficult but it wasn’t a good environment to have a mix of people who were at various stages in their disorders. Kind of hard to focus on recovery while others are bodychecking and posting about hitting their newest low weight. I still firmly believe that the people doing the best in recovery are the ones who don’t have social media dedicated to their disorders. So many recovery accounts are just as obsessed with their ED’s just in a different font. Not to mention the anorexia/bulimia/osfed/bed to orthorexia pipeline. Hint, even if you’re maintaining your weight and eating an adequate amount, if you can’t have a treat you enjoy without freaking out or compensating for it later, you’re still disordered. I also stopped using MyFitnessPal which has been really hard because I had a streak going for over 2 years. So yeah, no ED discord groups or other sites I won’t mention. Forgot to add that I don’t mean people should never talk about their experiences with ED, but having a platform solely dedicated to it whether it’s related to recovery or active illness is harmful and contributes to the recovery/relapse cycle.
I think that’s that. I just wanna be more present in my life and not so phone addicted. I want to actually feel physically good, well, at least as much as I can with chronic illnesses and aging.
