Why Shadow And Cream SHOULD Be A Duo
These are mostly Headcanons. They rarely interact, so Iâm here to cover all of the things.
My first reason is they'd have the BEST DYNAMIC. Shadow is the mentor and Cream is his student. I know some people like the idea of him influencing her to be more violent, (which can be fun) but I prefer the idea of Cream solving problems in her own way whenever she's on a mission with Shadow. All of the crazy atrocities happening around her doesn't faze her in the slightest. She can be a tough cookie, but still soft on the inside and out. She doesnât have to change her sweet spirit to be powerful in her own right.
Second reason. They would complement each other in the best way. Shadow could use someone to protect and I know Amyâs a good option, but thereâs something about Cream that works better in my opinion. Sheâs younger, less experienced, brave, encouraging, kind, and ADORABLE. No, she isnât and shouldnât be a Maria replacement. I donât want any character to have a good dynamic with Shadow just because said character reminds him of Maria. BUT Cream does have similar traits to her. More than Amy to an extent. The pink hedgehog is much more aggressive. Shadow would have a unique dynamic with Cream. Why? Because Cream is a literal child he needs to protect her at all costs. But sheâs too stubborn to care about her safety. The older Cream gets, the more determined she is to go on adventures with him.

Because sheâs so persistent, Shadow would feel obligated to teach Cream Chaos Emerald abilities. She would do terribly at first, but once she finally concentrates and takes her training seriously, sheâd ace it.
The third reason I believe theyâd be a great duo is because Cream would do her best to help him emotionally. But thatâs not all. Shadow would notice how hard sheâs trying and how much she struggles with failure. Iâd imagine her taking it very badly due to a few issues in IDW and Sonic Dream team. Donât get me started on the Metal Virus. She had to be the emotional support for Whisper (and the sweetheart did an amazing job) while she still struggled internally. Cream was the truest MVP during the Metal Virus.

But yeah! Sheâd definitely need someone with more experience with loss to help her with her self-esteem issues. Cream has so little confidence in herself when she shouldnât. I know she has Sonic, Blaze, Amy, her mother, and many others but I believe Shadow would be the one to turn that emotion into action. Heâs been through plenty. He wouldnât just cheer her up (though heâd probably still try) but give her direct action base proof that sheâs wrong with her training. She might not only need to be told sheâs cable but also be physically shown.

Iâd like to think sheâd be able to pull as much weight for Shadow as heâd do for her. The tough love and support system. Like Sonic and Tails but with a Good Cop Bad Cop dynamic.
Cream still has Gemeral/Cheese and of course, theyâve already protected her the best way, but Iâd like to think Shadow would be the one to teach her how to physically fight so sheâd be able to help Gemeral. Then he wouldnât have to worry about her too much. Itâll be like a training session. It helps that sheâs already physically strong but Shadow would only help her enhance it.
Sheâd be an honorary member of Team Dark and would sneak into their missions. Iâm not sure how Vanilla would feel about it but maybe this would be a situation where sheâd find out when Creamâs older. Like a superhero reveal or something. Maybe Vanilla would have a long conversation with Shadow and Cream would stand up for him and take all of the blame. Sheâs loyal to a fault.

Their friendship also just sounds adorable to me. I can imagine Cream being surprisingly mature and intelligent and Shadow is always shocked. They'd talk about the different planets and stars together, daydreaming about a more peaceful world. Then instantly start kicking butt with Rouge and Omega and take down a giant monster and work with GUN. I think Rouge would question Shadow every time Cream came with them.
Rouge: Ugh! Shadow, why did you bring her here?! AGAIN?!
Shadow: I didn't. She came on her own.
Rouge: And you ALLOWED HER?!
Shadow: You can't say ânoâ to Cream. I've learned that the hard way.
Itâs either letting Cream go with him or dealing with her whining for the rest of their picnic. Shadow isn't patient enough for that.

What kind of fun names would you guys give these two? Good Cop Bad Cop? Emerald Besties? Rebel Do-Gooders? Letâs give them a name!
Thatâs all the ideas I have for now. If you guys have any, Iâd love to read them. My ask box is always open!
Stay Creative! đ

The relationship of Eggman and his creations VS the relationship of Eggman's creations with each other
Eggdad and the eggfam has a ton of potential and interesting things to explore in fanon and not in the way people think. People seem to really be into the idea of it being this super unified thing where all the "members" fit perfectly into solid family roles and traditions and get along perfectly and literally just recreate the nuclear family structure. But it's so much more complex, unique, and interesting as a result. Not just to how they all are with Eggman but also with each other too.
Let's look at what we've actually got in the game canon so far. We'll start with-
The relationship of Eggman with his creations:
Metal Sonic has never once been called "son" by Eggman in a game. He has no known attachment to him besides bringing him back for convienience if he finds he can get more use out of him, but he's been more than happy to abandon him if he betrays or fails him.
youtube
Orbot and Cubot have also never been seen as sons of Eggman's. He's constantly yelling at them, hitting them, and threatening them. There's no fatherly bond, they're his assistants that he treats terribly.
youtube
In fact, as you see at the end of this segment, in the Japanese version of Sonic Colors, Eggman is heavily against the idea of being seen as Cubot's father. (But also Cubot has almost expressed attraction towards Eggman in Team Sonic Racing so it gets weird and complicated lol)
This hasn't changed since I made the above clip as he still treats them cruelly, even in front of Sage in Murder of Sonic
And this is clearly an aspect of their dynamic that's here to stay, as Eggman is even still whacking them around in TailsTube too
Sage is currently the only character where we know the familial aspect exists and is mutual. However, Eggman values her and accepts this dynamic for uniquely selfish and twisted reasons. Specfically for her usefulness and loyalty, how her skill can serve him well, and how he can take the credit for such an impressive skilled life-like creation, especially emphasized if he accepts the title of her father. His reasoning is quite disturbing really lol
youtube
It's a huge subversion of the traditional father and daughter dynamic in the way Eggman created Sage to protect him and serve as type of guardian for him rather than the other way around as a parent would typically be,
to the point she gets into danger and sacrifices herself for him and he lets her because it's specifically her function and this doesn't change even after developments
Sage is also still a servant/assistant to her master Eggman, she's mature and reliable and will get work done
(Link to translation here)
and so he promotes her to taking control of the Eggnet, a big responsibility.
She clearly isn't some immature child that needs her hand held and to be protected and coddled. He values her because she's so capable and useful to him and says so himself.
It's to the point that Eggman is the one who can actually be the irrational stubborn manchild throwing tantrums in some situations, while Sage is the more mature level headed rational one in those moments.
Sage is the very first creation he's called himself a father of and it was the best first choice that makes a lot of sense with his already existing character being considered and involved, rather than a complete change of his character and this is why it's great and works.
Not only is it not true that Eggman has ever felt a familial connection to any of his creations pre Sage in the canon games, it would also ruin the whole plot point in Frontiers of him starting to feel that way about a creation for the first time and processing it. This is clearly a first time thing for him.
So now let's talk about-
The relationship of Eggman's creations with each other
Eggman hasn't, and as far as we know, still doesn't see the likes of Metal Sonic or Orbot and Cubot as his sons. However, we do know that some of them seem to feel familial connections/at least desire a familial dynamic amongst each other that we know of.
As I showed above, Cubot did have a voice mode in the Japanese version of Colors where he would call Eggman his father and Eggman absolutely hated it.
In Rise of the Wisps, Orbot and Cubot express a desire to see Metal Sonic as their "big bro". Metal Sonic however, clearly isn't thrilled or into the idea, constantly looking pissed off to be around them.
Metal doesn't want anything to do with them and doesn't react well to the dynamic of seeing them like family, he's just like "whatever I don't have time for this" and focuses on the job that he's created to do, eager to ignore them and take off and get away from them.
Sage however, has expressed interest in Orbot and Cubot as being like brothers to her for being his creations too. Which Eggman half-heartedly went along with in a "I suppose so" shrug kind of way. Likely because he could see it made her happy and kept her loyal and useful.
But of course with all the examples I provided earlier in the post, he hasn't and still very much doesn't see them as his sons and still treats them terribly. Even in front of her, which is really interesting after he tried to entertain her desire to see them as her brothers before. Even that desire of hers doesn't stop him.
And lastly, it has been said that the "let's go dad" shirts Sage and Metal Sonic wore in Murder of Sonic were Sage's idea, so this tells us that Sage also wants to see Metal Sonic as her brother, which makes sense as she does with Orbot and Cubot too.
However, we don't know if this is mutual and if Metal wants to see her as a sister or not (for all we know, he could've been forced into the shirt by Eggman to keep Sage happy as we didn't get to see any enthusiasm from him lol) and this certainly wouldn't suggest how Eggman sees Metal still, especially with how he clearly still doesn't see Orbot and Cubot as his sons despite Sage wanting to see them as her brothers.
So yeah that's the current canon status of Eggman's relationship with his creations and his creations' relationships amongst each other. I think there's a lot of potential and fun ways to explore it without forcing them onto strict family role and tradition boxes because it's clearly much more complex than that.
They don't all see each other as family, Eggman doesn't automatically see and accept the idea of all his other creations being like his children too and some of them are even against the idea of being each other's siblings and don't get along like that. It's interesting to think about the difference in dynamics among each.
Eggman accepts Sage as his daughter but doesn't automatically see all the others as his children, while despite this Sage wants to see Orbot and Cubot and Metal Sonic as her brothers, and Orbot and Cubot want to see Metal as their brother but Metal clearly doesn't like the idea, etc.
There's also the potential complicated feelings and competition they could have against each other, especially when Eggman only sees Sage as his daughter and didn't see the others as his children before and so far it's quite clear he still doesn't see Orbot and Cubot as such even after Sage wants to see them as her brothers.
The ways Eggman could notice and exploit this to make all of them work even harder to please him to outdo each other, or possibly in hopes that he'll see them as family too if they're interested in that also has tons of potential. It's so much more fun than restricting them by putting them all in specific strict boxes.
Especially because not even the one dynamic that has the 100% known mutual familial feelings involved with Eggman and Sage are completely vastly different from the typical traditional expected dynamic canonically! I'd love to see more fanon not just embrace this but also the nuance and complexity between his creations with each other too. :D

Ok... is it safe to talk about Sonic Movie 3 spoilers yet? The movie is out on digital and it's been over a month.
Idk. Anyways.
I am both curious and utterly terrified on how they are gonna write Metal Sonic and Amy for Sonic Movie 4.
I will start off with my boy Metal first.
Metal Sonic to me is a very interesting character due to his goals and motivation. His goal to prove that he is the REAL Sonic and that he's better than the "fake" one. The way that he acts is a near perfect replication of Sonic's attitude, from the finger wagging to the poses he does in Sonic CD and the OVA, he is all about proving that he is Sonic the Hedgehog.
Metal Sonic is just not a simple robotic clone, he has depth to him and they expand upon GREATLY when he becomes Neo Metal Sonic and becomes SO OBSESSED with proving that he's the real Sonic by turning into a monster and trying to rule over everything, just so he can finally kill Sonic.
EVEN EGGMAN IS LIKE "Yeah naw dude we're fucked, we NEED the chaos emeralds to have a chance at beating him."
After his Heroes appearance, he became nothing more than a robotic clone used in spinoff games and in terrible mainline games like Sonic 4 and Forces. He only had splashes of depth to him in the IDW comics with this phenomenal scene.
So when i see Metal Sonic and a whole army of him in the post credit scene of Sonic Movie 3, i can't help but feel VERY WORRIED on what they are gonna do with him.
I mean don't get me wrong, the design is nearly on par with the game version, aside that fucking mouth piece thing, it looks AWFUL!!!! I HATE ITTTT!!
WHAT IS THIS!?!? WHY DOES HE HAVE AN ANGRY MOUTH!? ITS NOT SCARY AT ALL LMAO!
But now I'm just wondering, will they give Metal Sonic that depth he used to have? Will we actually see Neo Metal Sonic or will the main Metal Sonic be the coloured one we saw?
I don't want Metal Sonic to be like his appearances in Sonic 4 Episode 2 and Forces. I want it to rival his appearance in the OVA and Heroes dude. I want a fucking great antagonist, not a cheap robot that shoots out energy blasts.
I want a god damn intimidating robot Sonic.
Now... Amy Rose.
As some of you probably know, i like a character wrapped in pink, is hyperactive, wields a giant melee weapon and is always mischaracterized in the fandom they are from. When i was younger, i used to dismiss her or think she was just funny and move on. But as i've gotten older, i've actually grown to really like the character, especially in the older 3D games and with retranslation mods. Her story with Gamma was beautiful, her speech to Shadow, her jokes, her flirty/fangirl attitude towards Sonic. It's really fun to watch. Most media has a boy fall in love with the girl, but with Amy and Sonic, it's the opposite. Their dynamic is unique.
I also love how in some stories, Amy can get REAL PISSED OFF and have anger issues. Even roses has thorns.
However... in more recent stories like Frontiers, her personality has been mellowed out by a lot and her crush for Sonic is pretty much gone now. She's all about "sharing love with the world" now and her anger issues are gone.
Some say she's grown up and "oh she changed!" But we actually don't see this character growth at all. It's one thing to tell a story about how Amy learns that maybe her love for Sonic is too much and she learns to just be a good friend to Sonic. But it's another when the character has a MASSIVE personality change between Lost World, Forces and Frontiers. AND THEN THEY CHANGED GENERATIONS TO MAKE AMY LESS FLIRTY AND ANGRY LIKE.... HUH!?!? WHY!?!?!? THAT'S NOT HOW YOU WRITE A CHARACTER ARC!!!!! YOU GOTTA SHOW IT!!!! (A lot of Sonic characters have this issue too so it's not just an Amy problem.)
And them also doing the whole "Amy is no longer a damsel in distress anymore and her love for Sonic is over" is just... no dude. Amy was a damsel a couple of times and they never lasted that long. She's not on the same level as Peach. And the IDW comics tried to make her a Sally Acorn type character for some reason as well at first. Which was REALLY WEIRD! But maybe it's changed idk, i haven't kept up with the comics these days.
The only Amy that i really like in more modern stories is the one from The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog. Now THAT'S how you write Amy.
So now, when i see Amy come in with a hood on and destroying Metal Sonics with ease, I'm left wondering, "oh no... how are they gonna write her?"
Will they actually show Amy's crush on Sonic? Will Amy just have Sally's personality? Will they give her some damn thorns? Will they make it to where SONIC IS THE ONE WITH THE CRUSH!?!? PLEASE DON'T DO THAT! DO NOT GO THE GENERIC ROUTE PLEASE!!
If they make it to where when Amy takes off her hood in Sonic Movie 4 and immediately falls for Sonic I'll eat all of my words, but i doubt that would happen....
Anyhow, those were my thoughts, i know that it's too early to make a definitive statement on things but i just wanna voice my concerns due to other recent Sonic stories not landing in the characterisation department for me.

Sonic 4 and Amy Rose: How her character can be.
SoâŠSonic 3 is kinda stuck in my head and spinning like a microwave.
In particular, Amy Rose. I loved her cameo and her possible dynamic in the fourth movie with all characters plus her story made my writerâs ideas go WILD! So, I decided to do a silly little post about it!Â
I never played the games, just watched the movies, but I've done my search!Â
 So let 's go!
(Spoilers to Sonic Movie 3)
Tagging @annymation @nerdyneko6373
BACKSTORYÂ
I answered an ask before with some basic thoughts, but repeating here, Amy would have a widely new backstory, motivations, arc and narrative purpose while keeping her core: Unconditional love for all living things and a deeply Empathy.Â
From the mid-credits, we could see that Metal Sonic apparently came from the future, so not only we may have time travel but that Sonic 4 probs will be based on Sonic CD, which heavily has time travel and fate in its theme.
In the game, cards told Amy she would meet Sonic and she fell madly in love becauseâŠdestiny said so. Ok, obviously, the movie will need a stronger reason for her to exist, and her role as a whole.
So, here's my theory:
Amy will be on a mission to protect Sonic to save the future from Metal domination.Â
She would be a little girl from the Little Planet, or a place where it came close, raised in an orphanage where she never was adopted. Her home would be destroyed because the Metal Army wants the Time Stones. From who doesn't know, the Time Stones are 7 stones that can fold time itself. A crazy power to fall on bad hands.Â
In this scenario, Amy would risk her life trying to save everyone, getting the stones first to use them to stop the Metal Army somehow. However, the time stones would why the Metals exist, because Sonic was defeated, before sending her to Earth (at the same age of Sonic or a little older, it depends)Â to protect the gems and Sonic. But there is a small problem: she doesn't know where he is!
So she would grow up running away from Metal Army and the GUN, who find her after their readers went crazy since she didn't travel through rings but by the Time Stones, which would generate a lot of chaos energy. Amy also would have a beef with this organization not only for persecute her but for⊠you knowâŠdestroy the future as is known!
You heard me right, they'd be the ones who made Metal to be a âpreventionâ against Sonic before they get out of control (if with the help of Robotinik, Stone or not is open) and dominate Earth and universe.Â
I also theorize that her being an orphan gave her attachment issues and feelings she will always be left behind, longing for a place to belong at least once since he could never stop running. Growing up with this mission of saving everyone by finding this specific boy and keeping the Stones safe would be the only constant in her âalways running away to surviveâ life.
With those changes in the backstory, Amy Rose would become guardian of the Time Stones and an anomaly in the current timeline. With her latest pursuits settling her in New York (why Sonic ended up there is still a mystery, maybe his powers evolved?).
But not only that! She also would gain powers related to time. What I personally think is perfect for her. Sonic has speed, Tails his brain, Knuckles his strength, Shadow his teleport, Amy Rose, time.
In her case, time manipulation to some extent with chaos energy (and sure, Silver can do this but he already has psychic powers not to mention that there isn't really a reason in how he does it and I don't see any harm in transferring this ability to Amy, or even both of them having it in this universe, since Silver has more psychic powers as a trademark).Â
I think abilities related to seeing the future and past, allowing her to think strategically and would be great for her core traits. Imagine when you can know all about a person's story? Or even a second chance, like Ekkoâs from Arcane? Whatever could be, I think is amazing giving Amy a proper ability that also could push her empathy, love and determination more.
Also with her being the last refugee for a dominated planet and timeline would give her more complexity and a compelling story. Making her the only chance that things can be different and save everyone would be a responsibility and pressure for. While Amy could do anything to make sure things change, because that is who she is.Â
Not only that, changing Amyâs backstory to protect Sonic can give their relationship a deeper foundation. With her, presumably coming to Earth not much younger than Sonic and always seeing him as her hope, is so cool! He would inspire her even before they knew each other. Imagine her powers showing some glimpses of him as Amy grows up with Sonic being the only constant in a life she always has to be running away.Â
That would give a cool nood to her debut in the video game but with a blast! Destiny indeed brings her and Sonic together, but now isn't about her. Is about this lifetime mission. Is Sonicâs life on the line. The Wachowskiâs life.Â
Billions of lives across the universe on her shoulders. A hard mission she assumed because she loves those people and thinks all of them deserve a good life with freedom. That she has to try to get a better future.
She'd try to be a heroine, even if she was too young and this is a hell of a life. Because Amy Rose cares. She empathizes soo much! And always believes things can be different, better. What brings me toâŠ
PERSONALITY AND TRAITS
Listen, I know she evolved a lot butâŠAmy, to be a movie character has to have a strong characterization. A thing thank God got better, but can get upgrades.
As I said above, with some story before Sonic like Shadow, Knuckles and Tails have, Amy can bring good points to establish her arc and persona.
First, this Amy would be moreâŠtraumatized. Sorry, but it is true. Everyone in these movies passed through the horrors, so should Amy.Â
The girl'd see her home falling on evil hands and be the only one who escaped, that's alone is terrible. Now, add the responsibility of fixing things, find and protect the only being in the universe that can change things and she doesn't have any idea where is AND being on her own for years in one place after another? The past would do a NUMBER on Amy Rose.
Because see, Amy at her core is a lovable and kind character. And I can see this being the reason that she doesn't give up fighting at the same time she beats herself. Is too much pressure and stress, to think about. And she cares. Because is Amy Rose, and she cares too much. Amyâd be anxious and perfectionist in the movies, with the constant memory of a terrible future looming above her head. She canât relax, she canât get attached to anything or anyone.
More than that, if Amy really is an orphan with no family, always left behind, she can start to think that the mission is more important than herself, which would bring? Exactly, sacrificial tendencies. Amy would do all she can to protect Sonic and the rest of the Wachowski, even this put her life constantly on the line. If your mission is to save billions and you don't have anyone to care about you, why would you?
Not only that but I think, because of her mission, Amy would be very lonely and independent. She doesn't allow rely on anyone, so she does it all by herself, without having others help her for so long. Amy may also not let herself dwell too much on her own sadness, being reserved with her emotions and avoiding talking about her past suffering in silence most of the time, leaving her, as well as her powers, unstable. Maybe working hard to put up a facade.
She also wouldn't be willing to sacrifice her loved ones, maybe prefering to die than to lose someone adopting, like in the games, a mentality of âbetween the world and you, I chose youâ with her new found family. Again, pretty interesting conflit to her, and the whole save the world mission.Â
But not only angst makes a character, so Amy would also be kind, gentle, emphatic and forgiving. I can see her loving the Earth and the animals and humans in it, even if it was humans â the GUN who still persecutes her â that shattered her life in the first place and still gets in the way of the mission which is nothing more than cleaning up their mess because she believes that all life is valid.
Amy would want to help, raising the morale of others and feeling very compassionate (imo she also would be amazing giving advice). I also see her being the type that sees someone's needing help and doing that immediately. I can see her being gentle with Tails because he's this cute, smart, little kid or admiring Knucklesâ strength and instincts. Or helpful to Maddie and Tom because she accepts her. Always glad for the good actions of others.
She also would be persistent, feisty, hot-tempered and aggressive.
Fight for the future can wreck someone's nerves and Amy is kinda irrational and violent sometimes in the games and, to be honest, go girl! I mean, she destroyed and beheaded Metal Sonics like they were made of paper. The girl can fight and is pretty good at it! She did it for a long time, I can tell. Amy also would often be in touch with anger, with some moments that would make anyone regret annoying her. She's temperamental and it would be good to see it. Imagine seeing this little pink, cute, girl who almost has a heart attack because things don't go the way she planned or because she was bossed around. Amy always has been angry, let her be in the movies too!
Not only that, but this is my âAmy is a powerful chaos energy userâ agenda. The girl's hammer was infused with chaos energy to such an extent that it glowed brightly and seemed to obey her commands from a distance (please, let her cuffs be limiter rings đđŒđđŒđđŒ). Not to mention her stealth skills as she approached machines made to track without being noticed.
Amy also would be resourceful, clearly living by herself for so long, would make her see different ways. And I don't know if she made her hammer or brought her or built but it's a point. Maybe using her time powers to heal herself?
I think she would also have some difficulty acknowledging her own feelings, due to years of constant travels and persecution. But it would be more like she doesn't know how to behave with her being kind of intense at times. Not only that, I think that because of this she may not understand some feelings that she is not used to, such as acceptance and attachment, not allowing herself to get too attached because thinks she'll have to leave soon.
And of course, a funny sense of humor. I think Amy cracks jokes at the most random moments, but she would also go down the route of witty observations, dry one-liners, and good-natured teasing. And she really has time powers, time travel references. And propensity for chaos and shenanigans cause, c'monâŠgirl hates GUN (and any authority let's be honest, she does whatever she wants) AND is a war refugee. Amy doesn't have the goody-two-shoes atitude, no way. If anything, sheâs only less impulsive than the main cast in doing crazy shit, planning little to not get caught.
Amy would also have a strong belief in time and destiny. Having grown up on Little Planet with the Time Stones or at least them being prominent in her culture, she might have that mindset. Which would be fun since she's essentially trying to change the fate that was the end of her home and interfering.
My girl also would be a great leader. She would guide everyone on how to deal with the robotic threat that adapts to enemies and copies attacks very well. And also a love for adventures and emotion.
We can't forget her love for girly things. Amy is a girl who loves being one. I imagine she likes what all average girls like: music, books, fashion etc. I dare say that this is one of the most important traits to portray. Amy being more independent and a warrior should in no way erase how feminine she can and likes to be. The character was inspired by the average Japanese girl of the time, it would be a disservice to forget this very important trait. Not to mention that in the context of this story, it could give her comfort. Fighting your whole life is tiring and can destroy someone's spirit. So having these feminine hobbies and tastes could be a way for Amy to maintain her own sanity. To have something beyond the mission to define herself. An escape. And a funny way to put her obsessive traits in work like her being crazy about a saga she knows in a YouTube video's essay level.
And the greatest trait: Unconditional Love. Amy loves all things. It's her trait that has to be brought to the games. To all her interactions. It has to influence her decisions.Â
Amy has the type of compassion and kindness that would make this girl hold your hand, say she's on your side and fight with and for you. The do-good-because-you-can type. That inspires the best in others. She canonically remembers Shadow of Maria's compassion in the games. Amy Rose never gives up or left behind those who chose to do good. She gets out of her way to help a random bird in the games, for goodness' sake!
That's what they can't get wrong. If SCU!Sonic already has compassion, Amy has to irradiate it. Have this vibe at the moment you look at her. Is who she is. Love is her central trait. Not that Amy couldn't hate anything, she can. She has the temper to do it and is as any character. But Amy chose hope and mercy by default, not fighting.Â
She can be violent and angry as much as any girl is (which is a lot) but at the end of the day, would believe in the one she loves until the end without wavering and that cannot be ruled out. Amy is a loving person. An optimistic.
A girl that believes she can defy destiny by putting heart enough. An average little girl that chooses to put herself in danger in the name of others because of love and compassion.
With that coveredâŠ
DYNAMICS!
Oh boy I love this part!
To start, the Wachowski, more specifically, our colorful bunch: only child meet brothers.
That's it, fight me.
Look me in the eyes, and tell me she didn't give the energy to the girl that made everything by herself finds THE trio ever. Amy would love all of them and the boys would be thrilled with her (one more but I'll get there). Tom and Maddie? In the clouds! Maddie, especially.
First, Knuckles and Amy would be besties. Protectors of a powerful gem? Lost their home? Badass warriors? Sold. They would click in a blink of an eye! Let's recall Amy is pretty strong and a class A fighter. This boy just found his new sparring duo! Not only that, but Knuckles is a protector above everything and if my theory about Amy is true, she can relate more than anyone with the role: my life is devoted to a single purpose, protection. Imagine a scene where Knuckles stands his hand ro a handshake and Amy actually gives it back with a big smile and equal force.Â
Tails and Amy? She'd see Tails and would kill everyone in the room than herself if anything happened to him. He's the cutest little boy, c'mom. Tails? You see Amy's hammer? A gorgeous technological weapon? Nah, he's a simple boy. Plus, Amy is really gentle and Tails' main insecurity is people despising him. But if anything, she'd find him endearing, valuing him as a team member. This little kit would see this really cool pink girl who is kind and imprints on her like a baby duck. Is her sibling too now, your honor! She carried this boy on her back like a backpack whenever she could. I need to see them as the duo ever!
Now⊠Sonic.
Fun fact, I'm not a Sonamy shipper, but I am a writer and man, and I love when a dynamic can be WILD. Â
To start: Amy is protecting Sonic. Period.
That girl doesn't find the boy randomly, no, no. She found him.Â
And if it is true, it makes me so FERAL! Because in a meta level, would change the Amy's damsel in distress portraying, placing Sonic as the one in need of protection and rescue. Would be amazing! On a narrative level? Epic, because now Sonic, the everyone's hero who always meets their new allies fighting them and after being friends with them, is the one someone fiercely defends against an enemy that can't be reasoned with. He's out of his comfort zone.
Sure, Tails saved him too, but Tails also is a young kid that needs his help. Amy? Don't let the pink fool you, girl is a menace. She destroyed at least a dozen of Metal Sonics alone when Sonic himself barely scratched one. She knows this enemy in the palm of her hand because, remember, this thing can copy abilities AND improve itself! Girl is fighting an AI made to fight and is winning!
Amy isn't a person who needs SonicâŠis him that needs her.
Amy Rose has survived all this chaos all this time, she doesn't need a hero for herself. She needs one for the world, for the future.Â
Sonic has always fought villains like Ivo, or people who were fierce antagonists but became allies with him by extending a helping hand, like Shadow or Knuckles. Or even allies from the beginning, but who still depended heavily on external resources, like Tails.
Amy? Nah, girl can fight but not against him. On contraire, he is fighting for him. From the start. Total change. And it's so intense and incredible that I'm going to set aside a session just for it.
Amy and Sonic are equals in this version!
And God, this is AMAZING!
Tom Wachowski. The man would like Amy just for the fact that she saved his son. After all the saving him, saving future, and her being friend of Sonic (maybe more, I will cover later)? The man would be supportive as hell! Let's recall Tom is a helpful person as Amy and both wouldïżœïżœ find a common ground in this. She would respect his leadership as the patriarch and Tom appreciate Amy's effort in defending his family.
But nowâŠMaddie Wachowski. The movie can destroy me so bad here. First, Maddie would be thrilled to have another girl at home. But not only that. Maddie's a nurturing person. She's the emotional support, the doctor, the mother of the house. And Amy would align very much with Maddie's personality. She's this sweet, brave girl who's trying to save everyone and just wants to help all the time. Maybe Maddie feels relieved to have another girl in the house because Amy understands her position: Love through sacrifice as a loving and caring person.
Maddie only is a veterinarian because Tom bust his butt to make her happy. She willingly would move her whole life to SF because now was time to support her husband. Maddie also supported Tom and adopted the boys. This woman helped and was helped, loved and was loved, many times.Â
Both Maddie and Amy have this love in their essence. And how hard it can be for those who accept so deeply.
Maddie almost died a lot of times, so do her sons, and her husband who she loves so much too. Amy fights and hides and risks her life for this family. Love isn't easy. Can hurt.
Maddie almost lost her darling husband thanks to her adopted sons, aliens, that she accepted. Amy lost her home to humans that still want to kill her. But both don't give up on loving those others would hate. Because their caring and loving sides are bigger than any hate.
JustâŠAmy and Maddie manâŠ
GUN. Oh, GUNâŠAmy would hate this organization's guts so much. They not only would make the things that destroyed her home and hurt billions but also their lack of empathy and complete disdain for others definitely put them as her public enemy number #1.Â
Shadow. You hear me right, Shadow, because, fun fact, they're kinda friends from what I could see in the games and he has a great respect for her. Amy literally inspired him to save Earth once and believes that Shadow is a good person, having faith in him to do the right thing. They're like siblings. And I need to see this in the cinema. They could bond through similar despise to GUN :D
Metal Sonic. Your enemy is just like the hero you forseek. I need more info to go deep but thinking in how Amy fights copies of what should be her âsaviorâ is sooo mess up and endearing.
SONIC AND AMY
I told you they would have a separate part!
Like I said, I'm not a Sonamy shipper, I only watched the movies and Sonic Boom sometimes. But man, the grip the version of this duo got me should be studied.Â
They are aâŠcontroversial topic. Can see why, the foundation of them isn't good and they are kinda a mess. But in the movies? Oh man, how different things can be.
They will come from scratch in the movies which gives them a big advantage. No crazy behaviors or one-sided feelings. Is a fresh start!
As said, probably Amy will look out and protect Sonic for the Metal Army.
Which is great because it's not only an excellent reason to bring and keep the two together but it also avoids any of the obsessive stalking Amy had originally. No, she's looking for Sonic but to save his life and ensure the universe a good future. She's selfless, she takes Sonic as a person into consideration.
Which is good for Sonic too, since he will have an ally who is skilled in combat and who didn't start out wanting to kill him the first time. They will be equals, unlike Sonic who had to save Amy.
Now the dynamic. It's a... complicated topic. I understand why people are afraid itâll be terrible with the writers apparently going the Sonamy route.
Some people fear that the film will be just that, that Amy will lose her personality in the name of romance or that they just aren't big fans of Sonamy because of how she was done in the games or because they have other preferences, which is valid.
But, at least in this version, I think it can work. And not only can, but be extremely well done and coherent, going beyond simply platonic and romantic.
To begin with, no matter how it develops, I firmly believe that their friendship and bond will be the strongest foundation of these two.
The games didn't start out focusing on Sonic and Amy's friendship, more in the romance-ish. However, the movie would change that. Instead of following the typical relationship story, I think the writers could explore more a route where they show why they are the person for each other.
While yes, because it was said by the directors that the plan involves a "romantic" route; the most important thing established for Amy and Sonic in the movies is to show why they work as a duo, why they get along in the first place rather than just romance and saying that they will be together. Will be about the bond.Â
To begin with: Amy and Sonic's versions of the movies are extremely compatible. As a whole, independent of the label.
Movie!Sonic is a brave but extremely traumatized boy. He has some trust issues and what all the people he loves and cares about have in common is that they are all undeniably selfless and good people. Tom protects and helps both people and animals. Maddie is a veterinarian who helps animals. Tailes is his little brother who always helps. Knuckles is his protective older brother. Even Shadow, at the moment he realized that the black hedgehog was just very traumatized and manipulated, Sonic had no problem putting aside any animosity after nearly killing him. Sonic grew up isolated, with his first guardian telling him he would be persecuted for his powers.
If there's one thing he values in people, it's kindness and goodness.Â
And these qualities Amy has plenty.Â
And I say more, while Sonic would be impressed by the rescue, he would trust and like Amy seeing how kind and concerned she's with people and animals (I mean, in the games, sheâd this story about helping a bird). Sonic would admire her for her fighting skills, yes, but above all, he would value Amy for her compassionate and loving personality. Someone who is risking everything just to keep people safe, to keep him and his family safe.Â
Not only that, Amy is a deeply sensitive, forgiving and kind soul and that would be one of, if not the most, important points for her and Sonic's dynamic. This boy... has been through a lot. He's lost a mother figure, almost killed people, almost lost his dad and must surely have a lot of guilt. And if there's one type of person who knows how to deal with people with guilt, it's those with kindness and unconditional love.Â
Amy, in Sonic's POV, wouldn't be amazing because she knows how to fight or because of the really cool powers sheâd have, but because of her ability to show love and kindness unconditionally even after all she has been.
He shows so much compassion throughout the movies, but I think what still really gets Sonic is to receive it. And Amy shows it easily, like breathing. If Sonic at some moment lost faith in himself, that he maybe doesn't deserve his family, if he loses in guilt, Amy will be there with all her trust and love.
Amy, on the other hand, would value Sonic as well.Â
She would grow up with this beacon of hope, this person who could put an end to the terrible future. But not only that, I believe that she had him as a role model, perhaps seeing lapses of Sonic's life, and how he always persisted even when alone and afraid. This would inspire her, he would not only be a hero, but like her hero. What she wants to be. Remembering that Amy would enter this mission purely to do good, the girl would be going through this. She didn't want to be a hero, maybe explore and have adventure, but not being in charge of countless lives so young. But she entered this because it was the only way to fix things, that doesn't mean she doesn't crack under pressure.
Sonic is not just the trigger that can save the world. He is the shattering of expectations. Someone so good and special that he can change an almost certain destiny. For Amy, Sonic would be the reason she doesn't give up, won't let this crazy endeavor go by and accept defeat. He is the fastest creature in the universe who not only breaks the sound barrier, but also writes fates. The simple fact that he lives makes a difference and this would inspire Amy that maybe she can too.Â
That a simple girl who threw herself against everything and everyone in a mission that could kill her in the name of change can be a heroine. That she doesn't need to accept bad things passively without fighting, that she can indeed change the timeline.
Sonic would be a reason for Amy. Someone who never gives up, who will try again and again, no matter how many times he falls. Who will keep running until he reaches the finish line.
What I mean is, that there is no shortage of real and profound reasons for these two to enjoy each other's company. Their personalities complement each other. Isn't just superficial reasons, but real, deep things that influence both of them.Â
Is a mutual connection they have that is different from anyone. That just exists between them. Is about building.
Development
Everyone talks about reverse Sonamy and I see the vision, but may I add: both are low-key crushingâŠexcept they don't see it.
We're talking about a boy who was isolated for ten years before having a family, carrying devastating traumas, and a girl who lost everything, is on the run without creating bonds for years also with devastating traumas.
C'mon, they don't know shit about romance.
And no, it's not that the passion isn't there, because it is... it's just that they don't know.
Starting with Sonic, maybe he'll notice the signs: his heart beating faster, his need to impress Amy, his nerves on edge...but don't connect the dots until someone points them out.
While Amy thinks he's a little weird but definitely endearing and heroic, and finds Sonic's actions silly but cute... and ends up attributing it to devotion and attachment to him in general.
Meanwhile, Maddie and Tom are nearly having a stroke because for the love of God they are so obvious while Tails and Knuckles also didn't get the why.
And while it might be a funny running joke, it also takes the pressure off the romance. They're not self-conscious about it. For them, theyâre just new friendsâŠwith a weird amount of tension. But friends, noneless. Y'know, not second intentions or anything. Just them thinking their new pal is cool! As should be.
With that said, I buy the idea of Sonic showing his feelings more openly and being the one who goes after Amy more while she is more shy about it. And considering that she has a mission that determines the end or not of the known universe, it makes even more sense.
Although I see moments where Sonic is flirting really cheesy and Amy comes with a super deep declaration full of sincere devotion and drives this poor hedgehog to blue screen.
Something that can also contribute to their dynamics is parallels.
Sonic has parallels with almost everyone: Tails, Knuckles, Shadow. Heavily in Shadow. Good dynamics are born from it. All iconic audiovisual interactions have them. And with Amy and Sonic it would be no different.
One really cute thing about them is, Sonic and Shadow for example thrived on the parallels of similar loss, grief and as opposites, which is amazing narratively, Amy and Sonic are more parallel in qualities and, depending on how the film approaches it, in backstories.
They are both kind and sweet souls who fight for the ones they love until the end and are compassionate. Not only that, Amy and Sonic may be young folks who grew up alone feeling the weight of loneliness hit them hard. And heroes who now have to save the world because no one else can.
They have opposing parallels too, like Sonic being more laid back and impulsive while I see Amy being more strategic and thoughtful, him having to hide while she had to constantly move around, or Sonic finding family while Amy can't have bonds for the greater good.Â
Heck, the writers can even pull a Amy and Sonic/ Tom and Maddie parallel if they really want to hit us!
But imo, they'd thrive in the alikeness. In their shared compassion.
In the capacity of changing the other for the better.
Sonic could help Amy relax. She would have a lot of responsibility on her shoulders, without support and always struggling. He would show her what it's like to have support, a family, how to take life more lightly. That she's doing well.
Amy can help Sonic to find peace. That heâs a hero and that although isn't perfect by any means, and yes he makes mistakes, that does not diminish his worth. She gets what he has been and keeps the same hope and trust in him.
And that's the appeal, imo. Not a love at first sign or destiny. But showing how they work, how they don't need to change who each other is but help, and how natural the interaction is. The growing feelings. The simplicity of the whole thing.
The lightness of young love, yâknow.
Conflict
Trust me when I say it, the writers can make Sonamy doomed by narrative. Not only that, but it would be their core conflict as a duo.
No, I'm not crazy.Â
See, cuteness apart, Sonamy is almost an âanomalyâ by default in this universe. With the Metal Domination, Sonic probably should be dead in the future, not possible to meet anyone after that. Amy who came from the future to a time that isn't hers to stop it. She is not from his timeline, and he isn't from hers either.Â
Sonic and Amy never should meet each other in any normal circumstances. They have a mission bigger than them. They have a clear reference to Terminator and my pal, it romance doesn't end well.
If my theories are correct, the fourth film is essentially a fight against destiny. The star-cross story writes itself. Amy and Sonic meet and hit it off, but man, none of the odds are in their favor.
And to make matters worse, I'm pretty sure that if love is a theme in the film, the writers will pull to love is to sacrifice.Â
Remember the Tom and Maddie/Sonic and Amy parallels I mentioned? Tom and Maddieâs relationship has a strong foundation in sacrifice.
Maddie has said that Tom did everything he could to get her to go to veterinary school while Maddie gave up her life in Green Hills to be with Tom and make his dreams come true. Same with Sonic and Amy, except the stakes for these two are so much higher.
Because these two have a policy of no loved ones hurt equally at least in this universe and I know this will be a point of discussion. Sonic would never agree to someone he cares about sacrificing themselves, while Amy wouldn't accept it either. They're alike.
And I say more, it would be worse for Amy because this is her mission but also her feelings. The goal she dedicated her entire life to vs the people she loves. She won't condemn billions...but she won't be able to send Sonic into a near-death fight. And I'll say more, if she can save both of them at the cost of her own life, I say she would.
She doesn't have a family or a home and after spending time with the Wachowski, she wouldn't accept the risk of the family losing their son and brother. And man Sonic wouldn't take this fact well.Â
He wouldn't understand why Amy wouldn't try to fight to change things once more instead of just accepting death, not accepting that this time, there would be no way to talk her way out of this situation. Amy would be right in her point. Lives were at stake and any other decision would lead to losses.Â
Sonic would be torn too. It's a very important mission, and he has his family and the universe at stake...but leaving Amy would devastate him just as much. She's cool, she's amazing, and she'd still die for others. How do you deal with that?
Love and sacrifice. And always think about the other person and their well-being, not your own because that would be better. Doing things so that others can have their dreams and aspirations fulfilled. And how to balance what them both want.
They will find a way but God, the drama!
So yeah, Sonamy can be doomed by the narrative.

Well, this ends my talk about Amy Rose. What is right we'll see only in 2027. Until then, let's enjoy what we have. Please, if you wanna say something, do it! I would love to hear it! A big hug! Bye!

Sonic Idea
Okay so I watch the Sonic 3 Movie like two weeks ago and I came up with an idea that I think is pretty cool. I will admit Iâm surprise I havenât seen someone else pitch this already.
Okay DISCLAIMER: This idea can ONLY apply to Sonic in the movie only. I havenât been up to date with my Sonic lore so I apologize if I get some things wrongs. Iâm only pitching this idea in the hopes people that actually do know what they are talking about can pick this idea up. Please feel free to use this idea all I ask is to be mentioned, tag me, or use the tag I will be using.
SHADOW AND SONIC ROLE SWITCH
Okay I will admit the details are still getting worked on but this basically what I have:
So Sonic ends up getting crashed on Earth, GUN takes him in, and Maddie and Tom take care of Sonic. (Maddie can like a doctor and Tom can be like a guard or something, what matters is they work there)
Maddie and Tom love Sonic like a son, and Sonic loves them like they are his parents. Gerald Robotnik can still be experimenting on Sonic that stuff stays the same. Gerald is very protective over this family because he lost his own so itâs why he is so invested in them.
Tom and Gerald find out what GUNâs plans and they immediately try to escape with Sonic. Maddie joining with them because she isnât going to leave Sonic behind. They get chased but as they get to the explosion maybe Tom shields Gerald and Maddie try to shield Sonic.
General Walter tries to stop the soldiers and we know what happens. They kaboom, we know what happens. Extra flavor of angst have Maddie try to tell Sonic something but he doesnât understand/canât remember because trauma.
Maddie and Tom are dead, Sonic goes to put on ice, and Gerald goes to jail. That part stays the same. Now onto Shadow, he is found by Longclaw, she raises him and here is where Idk how exactly this would work but this is what I got so far.
So when Longclaw is raising Shadow and they get attacked. I think the attack should like people that are connected to Rouge isâŠIDK how to work that in, (maybe Rouge has a clan like Knuckles) idk but they are only after Longclaw in hopes to find the Master Chaos Emerald. Longclaw saves Shadow and thatâs how the first movie plays out.
Shadow lives on Earth in hiding until he gets discovered by a woman named Maria. She takes Shadow in and the whole movie plays out with Shadow and Maria. I think it would be cool if Maria didnât know who her family is so it will be a big twist when she learns that she is related to Ivo.
Anyways, Maria has Shadow will her. Mother-son dynamic happens and cue the second movie happening. Rouge is after Shadow to get the Chaos Emerald, and Amy is following Shadow around. Ivo and Stone are still the antagonist of everything, they get taken care, and movie ends with Shadow, Rouge, and Amy all becoming Siblings with Maria as the mom
Third movie happens Sonic gets free and is on a revenge quest with Gerald, Ivo, and Stone. We know what happened. It would be cool to see Sonic hurting Maria (By accident) and Shadow having the same mental down that happened in the movie. They fight, save the world, and everything plays out the same in the movie with the characters.
Maybe with the end credit scene itâs like Metal Shadow and maybe Knuckles attacks them??? Tails??? Idk one of them and thatâs basically everything I have so far to this idea.
If anyone wants to change or tweak some of this around go for it!!! This whole post is just an excuse for me to ramble a Sonic Idea I have had.
BONUS IDEA: Have Sonic x Amy happen and Shadow is in the background being livid about it because protective big brother
Alright thatâs it hopefully someone gets inspired or at least found this interesting (Use the âsonic and shadow role switchâ if youâd like to expand on this)

Here are my thoughts on this (warning for long post and my opinions)
Amy was made to be Sonic's female protagonist in the way that Mickey has Minnie, Mario has Peach- but Sonic subverts this expectation because of the nature of his character. Too cool, too fast, too wild to be "tied down" by romance, a hero on a breakneck paced hero's journey- this was also reflective of the culture at the time, so not just some throwaway decision. Reversing this dynamic doesn't actually mean Amy's character will change much, because Amy's definitive character has not been "Sonic's girlfriend" for a long, long time. She's a fangirl, she's obsessive, she's temperamental, she's kind, she's compassionate, she's honest, she's tough, she's optimistic, none of that would or SHOULD change in the case of "Reverse Sonamy". If Sonic is the one swooning and chasing Amy Rose then it's him who has to give up some of his definitive characteristics.
I'm not adverse to reverse sonamy because I don't think Sonic likes Amy -- if I can digress, I actually do think Sonic does have feelings for Amy, but I think Sonic has feelings for a lot of characters, but would never pursue romance for all the reasons I stated with Amy -- I'm adverse because I'm scared for what that means for Amy's character in the movie.
I don't want them to 'tame' Amy or Corporate Girlbossify her. I don't want her rolling her eyes at Sonic's attention or being the Only Smart One, or the straight man in a group of boys. I want Amy to be silly and tough and temperamental and sweet. Like the video's op stated, when people say they want reverse Sonamy I fear what they actually mean is that they want Amy to be toned down.
I saw a tweet not too long ago that slightly relates to this - that hypersexual women are one of the most oppressed people - I'm not classifying Amy has hypersexual BUT she is hyperromantic haha and I feel like relates to the gist of that theory. Is it really a crime that Amy does prioritize romance and love over heroism and adventure at times? Is it actually so terrible that she does have a crush on Sonic and follows him because of how much she admires him? As a girl, I related so much to Amy, not because I specifically crushed on Sonic (I was always a Shadow girl haha) but because I felt a lot how she acted. I was repressed myself, but admired Amy for how open and honest she was about her feelings and how confident she was when it came to Sonic returning her feelings. But she was also super tough and caring, but wore pink and loved girly things, but she also got angry and carried a huge weapon, but she also cooked and baked -- as a little girl who loved video games and action figures and super heros (mind you, this was well in the early 2000s when binary toys and interests were still very much a thing, I was ridiculed and denied in a lot of spaces) but also loved fairies and makeup and pink, Amy was the first girl character that wasn't either just cute and sweet (i.e Peach (who i adore DO NOT MISUNDERSTAND)) or tough and no nonsense but felt like how I felt. Amy had so many different layers to her character, I loved that she was girly and silly and in love but also super tough and strong and didn't seem to have to sacrifice one side for the other.
I ended up waxing poetic about Amy Rose for more than I meant haha, but I wanted to put my feelings out there. Irregardless of what reverse Sonamy means to people, or what anyone ships, I just want them to be true to Amy's character. I don't want them compromising who she's always been just because people find her annoying. JUSTICE FOR ANNOYING GIRLS!!!

remember those sonamy for sonic 4 ideas? here they are i couldnt wait
So, now that Amy is definitely confirmed, based on the after credits scene in Sonic 3, I have some silly thoughts about how Sonic and Amy's relationship could unfold in Sonic 4.
So, first, I think their general dynamic would definitely change. In pretty much every other form of Sonic media, while it has changed a bit recently, Amy is shown as constantly chasing after Sonic despite him avoiding most of her advances anyway.
Now, movie Sonic is definitely not as mature as the Sonics in other medias. A huge part of his continuous character arc is that he's still a kid, a kid that doesn't really know what he's doing.
And here, we have Amy, which, from the very small amount of her character that we've seen, at least seems like less of a damsel in distress. (It reminds me of how they changed Princess Peach's character in the Mario Movie.) In contrast to the story of Sonic CD, we see Amy saving Sonic from the many copies of Metal Sonic.
Now how exactly does this make their dynamic different? Well, if you take an immature Sonic, and put him in the same room as an Amy that needs less saving than the usual, the firsthand difference is undeniable. Thus why I think their dynamic would be reversed in a way, at least, that's what I want to happen.
I have a feeling Sonic would be "chasing" after Amy, but more so in the way that he's constantly trying to impress her. He'd probably get into some unsavory situations due to his most likely failed attempts at this, prompting Amy to have to make sure he doesn't keep doing stupid things.
Amy herself wouldn't understand why Sonic kept getting himself into trouble like that, much less that he did it for her, until she sought out some third-party information.
Speaking of (I never really mentioned anything related but just go with it), I haven't talked much about Amy's own feelings yet.
So we know about a possible tiny fraction of her character, and while that's not a lot to go off of, I don't see any harm in forming early ideas based off it.
When Amy, presumably, met Sonic by saving him from the Metal Sonic copies, I don't think she would really think too much of him at first. As soon as he actually started talking, though, she'd find interest- I wouldn't wanna take away the part of her that probably falls in love way too easily.
Unlike the usual Amy we're probably all used to, she wouldn't show her feelings that much. She'd have the occasional giggle at Sonic's attempts at impressing her, even if she didn't know that was why he did it. For all she knows, that's just what he's usually like! Until she inquires with Tails- she learns that she's somewhat special to the blue blur.
I might just be projecting, with the weird way my own feelings work, but I think Amy's little crush on Sonic would skyrocket at that information. Sonic, the guy she only really had a small crush on, was trying that hard to win her over? Admittedly, that was pretty cute in her eyes.
After that Amy would definitely be more forward with Sonic, causing the latter to be a little confused and wonder if a certain two-tailed fox said anything...Guess you can't even trust your best friend with secret crushes anymore, sigh.
If they ended up together, if we were to ever get so lucky, I don't think either would really change how they act around each other, other than holding hands occasionally and maybe a few kisses here and there. Sonic is still adventure focused, though how much he likes Amy is sometimes painfully obvious. He'd gain a little confidence boost if they became official, but overall, if they went on any dates, they'd be dates to kick Eggman's ass for the thousandth time.
That's all I have for now, I'm gonna let the brain worms rest LOL. Thanks to anyone who actually went and read my yapping session

Was it just me, or did this video kinda suck? (Yap post)
Heya everyone! So I've been watching a lot of Sonic analysis videos recently, and this one just won't leave my head. I left my own thoughts extensively on the video itself, but I wanted to talk about it here too. Just a heads up, DON'T ATTACK THIS PERSON. They have an opinion, and I agree with a lot of their points at the beginning of the video! But I just think some parts of this video came off as distasteful, and a little gross. I'm going to quote parts of the video, and stuff I said in the comments of the video. So keep that in mind, and let's begin this big ol' thread.
Chapter 1: Amy's Character
So like I mentioned above, I agreed with a lot of his Amy takes. Saying he prefers Amy in Adventure is a normal thought. In fact I do, and when I write Amy, I base her heavily off of her Adventure and Adventure 2 self. I'm going to pull directly from my comment I left on my video for this section.
"I agreed with a lot of it, and I loved how you understood Amy's character on a deeper level. And I liked how you didn't hold back on the writers, like some people have been doing on many different places. As someone who's been into Sonic ever since I was little, and into the fandom for 10+ years. Then I agree that lots of Ian's versions of the characters, aren't perfect, and I'd love to see them be improved in the future. Mostly, I'd love to see Amy and Silver portrayed differently in the future. I wish Amy could have some of her femininity back, but I don't think her new version is the worst thing on the planet either. She could've been a LOT worse. I saw an older fan, say they didn't like the way Amy was back in the day. Saying they found her dynamic with Sonic to be a bit annoying, and that's okay! It took me a long time, as a female fan, to understand Amy. Because growing up as a girl, I was always told that Girly = Annoying or undesirable.
This was pushed heavily THE MOST in the Sonic Fandom. When Amy would act like... well AMY back in the day, MALE fans would hate on her. They never understood her, and would try to "fix" her via fanfictions (or just straight up killing her in edgy fanart). Or, they would say that Boom Amy is the "Better Amy", and she's the "Only good thing about Sonic Boom". I vividly remember grown men hating on Amy, who was characterized as a TWELVE YEAR OLD GIRL back in the day. It's just weird. And I feel like Ian, even if he doesn't realize it, was influenced like men like them. Which funnily enough, were mostly Archie fans in the 2000's and 2010's! The same place Ian became a fan from! I'm OF COURSE not saying Archie Sonic fans are horrible people at heart (I actually AM a big Archie fan), or that men are terrible people. That would be a stupid way to twist my words."
Basically, I have my own thoughts about Amy, and I agree she should be a little bit different. But I do think Ian, and Sega themselves for the Western Market, have probably been swayed by fans back in the day. Fans who never liked Amy, and would call her Toxic, Annoying, Clingly, Crazy, and so on. Back in the day, Sally Acorn fans and Archie fans would bully and pick on Amy for the sake of their ship. And guess what? These people were a majority of MEN, not boys, GROWN MEN. Amy was never made for them in the first place! So trying to change her to appeal to those grown men, is what I think changed her character deeply.
"I've learnt growing up as a woman, people are going to hate me no matter what I do. No matter how Feminine or how Tomboy I am. Me and many other girls, have had phases of hating pink, and all that is feminine. But that's because of the way the media showed it. When I grew up, Amy would show me, that Girlhood is okay! Liking dresses, pink, shopping, going on girls trips, having sleepovers, wearing makeup, and so on! That stuff is okay! Like you pointed out in the video, Sonic is allowed to be all the cool boy things. So why can't Amy be all the cool girl things? I know, Amy doesn't appeal to male fans. But when was Sonic ever about appealing to one gender? I feel like Sonic bypasses gender, age, or anything else! Video games in general bypass things like that in general. So, for Sonic, why can't girly girls be a thing? I didn't need to BE Sonic to understand him. Same with some of my other favorite characters like Shadow. He's like the total opposite of me, but I still loved him due to his writing and design. So why do girls have to be one certain personality, for Flynn to care about them. But the male characters are fine to be literally whatever they want? Amy's message taught me to love myself, EVERY part of myself. Even my femininity I hid, even the part of me that still loved pink and pop music. And how is that wrong for a girl my age to enjoy? I think it's a side effect of the real world.
No matter what it is, if women are into something, it's not seen as real. Into boy bands? Well you're cheesy and cringy! But guys can drool over their female idols as much as they want, it's just natural for them! Do you like this "boy" hobby? Well you aren't a real fan, and you got into it because of a man probably. I've been told these things growing up, especially when I would play games as a girl. Amy's old personality, taught me to express my passion! No matter what other people think of me, it's better to be me, and be happy. A character doesn't have to be like you, for you to like them. But for me, Amy was just like me! And sometimes for young girls, they need a good role model. And I'm not saying little girls nowadays can't like Amy, that would be stupid. But sometimes people will prefer their version of Amy that they grew up with, and that's not an issue. And I'm tired of people thinking it is a problem for people to have preferences. Speaking of that, I have a lot to say about your portion on the fandom too. I don't want to be rude in that section, so please don't take it as a personal insult. I have nothing against you, and this is just my thoughts on what you said."
So it makes sense that Amy's change is so different to fit Flynn's preferences. Flynn IS a man, and probably can't relate to this struggle. Am I saying men can't write women characters? No not at all! But I'm saying, Flynn's Amy is different from the one I grew up with. I learnt a certain lesson from her character, and other kids my age probably did too! But the new Amy can teach new lessons to children as well! For example, Zodiac and Tarot card girls are still hated by men to this day. Ian Flynn could've made Amy completely drop all of her girl hobbies, but he hasn't done that yet. He in fact, gave her a hobby that ties back to her roots, and expanded on it. I think Amy can still be capable and talented, even WITH magical abilities. It probably took her a long time to learn her cards and magic. I wish we could've SEEN her learning this stuff, but that's not my point. Amy still sticks to her goals and passions, no matter what the internet thinks. And also, Amy still has a pretty heavy crush on Sonic in IDW (or it's at least implied). But the guy fails to mention that, and instead goes on about the Japanese characterization.
Now nothing is wrong with comparing the current characterizations and all. But it felt kind of... Japanese Purist in the worst way possible. Saying "See!? Japan keeps Amy the same, so it's a Western Problem! And Western cultures hate women!". Which I did see some people sharing that rhetoric in the comments. Saying "Hollywood nowadays hates femininity", "I hope Movie Amy isn't ruined", "I wish the West was more like Japan" and so on. Cultural differences are fine! But everyone's character is handled by a different writing team in Japan. They have different standards, and like to write characters differently. I find it unfair to compare something like that, when talking about a fictional pink hedgehog. It kinda feels like this (MAN making this video by the way) is pitting two women against each other, because one girl isn't "feminine" enough. Which reminds me of a... certain war between Sally and Amy during the shipping wars. Hmm... how silly that you complain about a fandom thing like that from certain other fans later in your video. But you share the same rhetoric as the very same people who used to think Amy was "too girly" back then. But now, she "isn't girly enough".
Chapter 2 THE FANDOM PART OH NO:
OH BOY. This is where the video lost me. I had places to agree on everything else, but when he got into the fandom part... it seemed hateful. TW for possible homophobic talk and also, Anti Headcannon talk! Booooo! Anyways. The guy proceeds to talk about the fandom at the end of the video, pretty much out of nowhere. Knowing that Ian is a fan, then it makes sense for some of his writing decisions, and I pointed that out in one of my two comments.
"Now I've been personally writing Sonic stuff for fun, and I have my own headcannons. Which, it seemed like you were very against in this video. Your wording seemed, angry? And that's valid! Especially when fannon things infect cannon. And I agree with a lot of what you said. Some things the writers have said, or done, is WEIRD. Like especially Ian answering a question about Sonic touching Shadow's ass. Like he had every right not to respond to that question, and pick anything else. Buuut, he picked THAT one? Like WHY!? It's just odd. That's something a QNA made by fans should do, not a real writer who works at Sega.
But point is, some of the people who favor headcannons, and say some of the terrible stuff you displayed, are on the younger side. I remember having a "if you think one way, you're bad!" mindset, when I was growing up in my early teens. But that doesn't excuse them sending things like death threats, and saying gross things about characters or ships, BECAUSE they're most likely children. In fact, if they're adults, that makes them even worse. But, not everyone who has a headcannon is a bad guy. Due to people like this, random people who just enjoy making headcannons, have been villainized and demonized. Which is ironic, because back in the day, it was just as bad! If you had a gay headcannon back in the 2000's and 2010's? Well be prepared to get death threats! But the tables have just been turned around nowadays. Also, it was very common for fans to write people like Amy as a worse character, making her a total stalker, for the sake of their ships. This has been a sadly common thing, since the dawn of fandom itself. And Sonic is just a case of some of the worst people in it. I feel like nowadays, people only notice it more; because Twitter and other social medias, like to highlight the negative to an absurd degree."
Now the screenshots he shows from the writers, and other official staff are disgusting! And I agree that this behavior is bad!
If you're wondering. When he decided to show negative sides of the fandom, and toxic behavior, as well as calling these people "Not real fans" he only showed a specific kind of screenshot... Other than one showing only death threats, and someone nitpicking Sonic's shoes. Then all of his screenshots of "bad people" or him describing bad writers or bad fans, were ones with certain headcannons. And one post that he used to defend himself, and his argument, is from an OPEN TRANSPHOBE. Now I agree, Krack should NOT have recived threats like this from people, despite his thoughts on Trans People (PEOPLE. TRANS PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS HUMAN, AND PEOPLE, JUST LIKE US.) being deplorable. But Dimitri, why did you pick THIS specific type of harassment to show off hmm? What about the people who used to send threats to the Archie Staff, for not shipping Sonamy? Or to the Sonic Boom Staff to make their ship cannon? I guess that wasn't important enough to mention, because "the Archie and other Sega staff are saints! But Ian Flynn isn't! So any hate he gets is justified, and not allowed to be criticized at all!". That's what these screenshots and your wording of calling certain fans "brand ambassadors" felt a little personal....
Also, including the Anti Western post a few minutes after this one, is making your character look bad. Like I don't see Western Sonic Fans, complaining how Japan's characters need to change to fit THEIR standards. But Western Media just magically needs to accept overseas stuff all of a sudden? What happened to Sonic being a BRAND. They act like Sonic is a real guy, who's having his friend's name dragged through the mud. When in reality, Sega wants to make money, and money first. So despite me not liking the changes, Sega, and English writers will make changes to whatever the hell they want. You're allowed to not like that. But blaming ALL of Western Media like this, sounds like a brainwashy take.
Now I understand Dimitri is mad about the responses he got on Twitter to his post. And I agree, people shouldn't be saying this stuff about him, or his statement. He was sharing an opinion, and people took it the wrong way. Ian DOES have biases for writing a certain type of Female character, thinking that a kickass woman is better than a more feminine one. That's an issue for sure, but I don't agree with the framing in this video. He used the WORST screenshots he could find, to demonize people with headcannons. The way he spoke about Flynn's writing of Silver in particular was very Anti Headcannon. Saying his character was ruined with Flynn's inclusions, instead of admitting that Flynn's Silver just isn't his taste. He could've said "I just don't like how Ian Flynn writes Silver and Amy" or "I would personally change ___, ___, or ___ about them". That's a respectful way to critique something. Instead saying "Ian Flynn doesn't understand this, and he ruined everything!". It's like he's putting the blame just on Ian's shoulders, because of a change he doesn't like. When, sure Flynn IS the head writer and all.
Now I mentioned in my quote from my comment, that Ian's Bumblecast questions were inappropriate for a franchise made for kids. But that's not because it's a Sonadow themed question, it's because it's WEIRD. But SEGA is the one who allows him to characterize her like this. If they didn't have an issue with it in the West, and want to make cultural differences that could help with their sales. THEY WILL! Sega is a company, they aren't your friend, and aren't under an attack by Flynn's writing team. Sure Flynn is writing this character, but Sega is being a pussy, and letting a writer push them around. Which tells me, Sega doesn't give a fuck. As long as Sonic is getting press, and mostly positive press at that. They'll let Flynn write whatever he wants. The only reason they told Flynn to stop responding to Sonic character questions, is because some of the responses would look bad for THE BRAND. Sega might be nicer to their fans compared to things like Nintendo, but they're still a company at the end of the day. This guy doesn't seem to understand that. Or if he does, he's being ignorant.
This is where you lost me Dimitri.
This photo here is a pure editing piece of propaganda. He says, with this image on screen "The Sonic Fandom cares a hell of a lot more about the fandom part, then the actual content of Sonic. And that's why their concerns revolve around propping the brand up, in the face of any criticism." And the most important part of this quote "or using it's fictional character as a mouthpiece for entertainment to politics."
One. How is an innocent piece of Sonic headcannon art (top right corner) and Shadow holding a Trans flag, any HARM to you? How is that stuff perverting the characters? One is a headcannon drawing, that had nothing to do with your previous issues. This one is a FAN WORK, not effecting cannon comics or games at all. As for the Shadow fanart, that one is FAN ART. You're looking in FANDOM, no shit you're going to see art like that. People can relate to quotes characters say, and it's stupid if you think they have to take the quotes literally. Art is subjective, and people can get different things from the media they consume. That's the beauty of humanity, everyone has different eyes. Next, the Sonic is LGBTQ video he included in the bottom left? It's a theory video. I watched it actually! Chaomix isn't trying to say "Yeah Sonic IS this way, and you're wrong if you think otherwise". In his video, which you clearly didn't watch, he explains the FAN THEORY, and how people sometimes relate it to cannon. Guess what Sonic also doesn't have in cannon. A GIRLFRIEND, which you clearly seem to like the idea of him and Amy due to you using X and the Japanese Media as an example of. If Sonic is "as free as the wind" like you say, then wouldn't you agree that he doesn't need to be in a relationship? But you never mention that ever.
And guess what? The Sega pictures of Speed Battle? Those are real! Sure even if Sonic the character isn't gay, Sega wants to make profits and be nice to fans! It's a brand tactic which people take too seriously. But it's better than you, who wants to show these photos off as being wacko and crazy. And yes, Sonic hates oppression. How is that an issue that people use too much to defend their character, but the "Shadow Loves Latina's" shit isn't? In fact, you don't mention ANY instance of a fan with straight headcannons harassing others, or Transphobic views. Oh wait, that wouldn't fit with the image you're making people out to be with this video. How ironic that you leave out the toxic straight fans, but show off the toxic gay ones. And use false information to prove your point. That doesn't look too good Dimitri. 0-0
Another quote from my comment thread on YouTube:
"I mentioned before, that I personally make headcannons. And the difference between me, other writers, and Ian Flynn. Is that we're fans, and don't have a say over cannon media. Ian Flynn's words, are taken as fact. One thing I have to say before agreeing with you again, is that, I don't see the issue with certain characters being gay canonically. The ones Ian made, are basically his characters. And so far, characters like Tangle and Whisper, and ESPECALLY Nik and Don, haven't been taking over the comic. They just kinda exist, and may be gay (Nik and Don mostly being conformed). I'm Bisexual, and I'm glad Ian wanted to make new characters who are gay. I'm not DEMANDING he makes these characters, like some people think I do. But if they exist, and they're still characters outside of their identity (which they have been so far, I've been rereading Sonic IDW recently) then I'm pretty happy with them just being there.
Now if he was trying to change a character, let's say Amy, into being a sexuality she isn't CANONICALLY, then I'd feel more skeptical about it. Also, your argument about how people react to queer ships has been an issue, since again, the dawn of fandom. A lot of people don't like Gay ships for the sake of their actual dynamic. But for the sake of "Hey, I find this hot!". Whenever I write relationships, I like to think "does this work with the relationship I want to write?", instead of thinking of which Gay ship is the best, and who can I demonize for my ship to work. Which I mentioned earlier, straight ships have had this issue in the past too! I feel like your problem with the fandom isn't because "they're making everything gay", it's that fans are being insufferable about their headcannons and ships. Which every fandom is like, and will continue to be that way sadly lol. But speaking of, Ian pushing his headcannons onto cannon is not great! Silver is an example I used in my very own video, and I don't like his IDW self so far. I wish he would have help from other writers, and maybe work better with the Japanese Team for certain characters. I'm usually not against other versions of existing characters (Sonic in other media like him in game, vs the movies, vs Sonic Prime, ect.), but Ian trying to make HIS version of Amy "THE" Amy in a sense, rubs me the wrong way. It would be different, and I wouldn't care if he was writing a FAN comic, or making a Fanfiction. That would be normal fandom stuff. But, I feel like he never switched his brain from writing Fanfiction. Writing a fanfiction, and writing for an existing series is completely different."
"As a fan who writes her own version of the Sonic cast (I mostly pull from the games), it's fun! But I'm still a fan, not an official staff member. I've personally had people compare me to an actual writer, like I'm supposed to be professional. I put in effort into my versions, but I don't INSIST that they're the "real version of Sonic" or Shadow, or whoever the fuck else I'm writing. I admit, as a fan, that they aren't too accurate. And seeing other fans with headcannons, insist that their stuff is right, makes the whole community look bad. Like yeah, I see certain characters as Gay or whatever else.
But I get ashamed to say that, because whenever I do, I have people saying I'm trying to "ruin the Sonic Brand" or that I'm "not a real fan". But shipping, headcannons, and other things are a side passion of mine. I just do it, because I'm in Fandom spaces, and I have fun with that stuff. My main love came from Sonic though! I've played LOADS of the games, almost all of them, ever since I was little! But people don't believe me, because of the chronically online people. It just sucks that things like this are so hated, because a few teens on Twitter were being assholes. I know this tangent was long, but that's a big part of the video that I felt disgusted by. Not just because people were disgusting in the screenshots you put up. But because it reminds me, on why people like me, and random fans, get harrassed for having silly opinions and thoughts on characters I love."
My comment on Amy still stands by the way. But everything else still applies! One thing I noticed is that he uses regular comments about people liking different versions of Sonic (IDW in specific) to be the "stupid wrong option" in his videos. Saying that don't understand Sonic, when they just prefer one characterization over another. So it's fine when you prefer old Amy's writing and dialogue, or Japanese Amy, but it's not fine when this person has a preference for IDW Sonic's writing? Make it make sense. Also the photo he uses here makes no sense. Sure Gigi works on IDW, but we don't know if They wrote the scene or not. If they straight up admitted to writing this, it would be bias. But as of now, we have no idea.
I also love how Dimitri complains about certain characters being gay. And I agree with him on one writers point, saying that want to ship Vector and Espio. I don't like the ship, and I find it gross personally. They have a brotherly bond. And I personally ship Silver and Blaze a lot. But this isn't about me, this is about YOU Dimitri. You complain later in the video that "The Sonic Fandom cares a hell of a lot more about the fandom part, then the actual content of Sonic. So why would you care about this? This is shipping! Shipping is fandom shit! You're too pure, YOU know the characters well enough! You're not like other Sonic fans, you don't care! But you suddenly care about this shipping take? Like I get the Espio and Vector hate, but why do you care that she doesn't care for Silver and Blaze?
I've met plenty of straight and gay fans who just don't prefer something. You claim not to care about ships, and to feel disgusted by all of them. But you seem to be VERY pro Sonamy, and at least a decent fan of Silver and Blaze. Because otherwise, if you cared ONLY about the games, you wouldn't care about relationships at all! You complain about Flynn wanting to keep relationship drama from Archie Sonic, yet at the same time, you're complaining about it! It seems like you're bias against gay stuff. You don't like that gay ships are being pushed in the comics, but Sonamy coded scenes never come up! Even though they exist in IDW! Or heck, another Hetro ship that IDW basically made cannon was Vector and Vanilla! They're cannon characters! You should care way more that this ship was forced, Sonic isn't about romance! . . . Seems like it's only convent to mention shipping things when it's against gay stuff, and serves your own agenda. Which funnily enough, you criticize the IDW writers for doing. So which one is it Dimitri? Does shipping matter or not~? >:) Plus! One of your sections in the video is explaining Sonic and Amy's relationship. And you seem to describe them more as a couple, than friends. Even though they're not a cannon ship. And that leads me to another point.
Why do Ian's comic characters, matter to you? They can be gay, they're Flynn's characters. Again I mentioned in my comment that "I don't see the issue with certain characters being gay canonically. But if they exist, and they're still characters outside of their identity (which they have been so far, I've been rereading Sonic IDW recently) then I'm pretty happy with them just being there." Heck I'll even say that characters like Starline, if he ended up being Gay, who cares!? You're looking at outside media, to look at the comic, instead of focusing on the Comic's story. Which, again, you AGAIN quoted saying "The Sonic Fandom cares a hell of a lot more about the fandom part, then the actual content of Sonic". Why would you care about a Lesbian or Gay ship being cannon? Ships are fandom stuff! That's not actual content of Sonic! Plus, you seem to play the games. Why would you care about a comic that Ian's writing? The writer you seem to hate in your video. You can happily ignore the comics, and keep playing the games. But this fact seems to make you angry enough, to add it in your video.
Whisper and Tangle are strong characters, and may be dating on the side. But they've still done important things in the comics, and stand as characters on their own. And if we don't include them, Nik and Don are BACKGROUND CHARACTERS. Why would they matter to you? They're in the background, and aren't forcing themselves into the main story. They show up to do some things, and that's it. But them possibly being gay seems to make you disgusted. The Conductor and his wife are cannon! And so is TMOSTH, which you don't even mention! That couple is a background character couple, and they even had a kid! So clearly, adding in Spinoff media/non cannon media into the comics isn't an issue to you! Or you just haven't gotten to this issue yet. Or, what I suspect... You've never read the comics at all! Because they have TWO cannon straight couples in IDW, but you don't mention them at all. But when one gay couple is cannon, or IMPLIED with Tangle and Whisper. THEN it's a problem to add couples.
I think that's all the points I have, and why this video feels... gross. But what I wanna mainly take away from here is that. You're allowed to have preferences for Old or New Amy, but this video just wasn't it. He mighty know Amy's old character, and might not like the new which is fine. But I feel like he used the last third of his video, trying to push his beliefs about Sonic fans onto the viewer. And acting incredibly ignorant when it came to some information. I don't think this guy MEANT to be Homophobic, or weird in this video at first. But that weird Wojack edit at the end kinda gave me Dimitri's true colors. As well as quoting a proud Transphobe multiple times. So uhh yeah not good! >:( I don't think Dimitri is too far gone, and I think he just made some bad choices because he interacted with the wrong group of people. But I think people just doesn't understand fandom culture, especially Dimitri.
But tell me what you guys think! What do you think about the original video if you've watched it? And I'd love to hear what you think about this video too! Please be sure to be respectful, and DO NOT HARRASS DIMITRI. I'll be getting back to drawings soon, and I may do more thought posts. But I don't think it'll ever be on one video ever again. And what version of Amy do you like? Personally, I love both Adventure Amy, and IDW Amy so far! ^w^ I'll be seeing you guys around. <3

Switched lives AU explained
This AU is still in development and I am NOT an artist (sadly) but here is what the AU has so far:
This AU is about sonic and shadow switching lives; shadow being the hero in the story and sonic being created in the ARK.
Shadows design: shadow and sonic don't really change much aside from shoe and glove design. For shadow, I was thinking of the idea that he would still have the air shoes but they are made by tails! The jet boots are still red and black but are a little bit more detailed with the idea that tails made them. As for his gloves, shadows would kind of just hear those high tech grey gloves that are also made by tails that can shock enemies on contact whenever shadow has to.
Sonics design: sonic would wear running shoes since he can still run pretty fast! He would also wear fingerless white gloves because in the ARK him and maria used to play wrestle together and maria gifted him some fighting gloves for them!
Story differences: Despite being the hero that saves people and beats up bad guys, shadow is still a bit of a mean guy because he sees himself as the ultimate hero that likes validation. Of course, he does want to help people in these situations since in his cold heart, he does care about the people he saves. Sonic in the ARK is a lot more tough... Sonic and maria were best of friends that would constantly play together and break the ARKS rules sometimes, until the day Maria got shot and sent him away. After 50 years, sonic became more of a vigilante than a bad guy (I had no idea how to make him a bad guy in the story as much as I LOVE unhinged sonic.) He remembers maria's words and tries to not do awful crimes but still does some bad stuff since he did break the rules back in the ARK and is just kind of a goofy guy like that. Of course though, he got to learn better after the events of SA2. He WILL get a 'bit' emotional if you mention her though...
Shadows relationships: With tails, he treats him nicer since they've known each other for a long time, He sees him as his little brother that he would protect if gotten hurt. with knuckles...they hate eachother. They would constantly fight and get into each others nerves, they see each other as more co-workers than friends. (At least, that's what they both say) Amy does have a crush on shadow and is VERY obvious about it with him. It constantly annoys him and he gets all angry at her everytime. (He does likes her company sometimes though)
Sonics relationships: sonic and rouge are besties! They gossip a lot together and used to steal some jewels together back when sonic was a vigilante. Sonic finds omega as a pretty cool guy to hang around with and he is pretty funny to him. He LOVES to mess with egg man every chance he gets to get on his nerves, he is technically his family after all.
Sonic and shadows relationship: they of course constantly fight but for sonic, he loves the guy! He likes to tease and mess with him while he tries to stop him cause of how funny he acts when pissed off. Shadow used to find the guy annoying and childish...and while he still does see him that way, he finds him more welcoming in the team now that he is not a vigilante anymore.
Aaaaand that is IT so far. I would love to go over what happens in the other games and the other character dynamics with them, but this would be way too long. Hope you like what I have so far though!

Guys this AU I literally just created has already infested my brain. I must yap my extremely vague ideas of it.
Itâs a horror AU so uh⊠warning for that kind of stuff? Also another warning for this being the goofiest AU ever (and its still a WIP so a bunch of things could change and I still actually do need to add more- so donât take any of this as if itâs gonna stay in the AU forever)
Ok so when I normally think about this AU, I think of RPG/Visual Novel-styled games? Or like Undertale? Yk what I mean. Iâm taking some inspo off of Mad Father, Mario The Music Box, etc too. So if you see me describing anything like itâs a video game (saying âyou as [character]â, etc.) thatâs whyđ this most likely wonât be made into an actual game sadly </3
I barely have a plot for it rn, I just know they get teleported to some other dimension thing? and thereâs a mansion (obvi) they have to escape ?? But I do know what happens to some characters (Like Amy :D)! Iâm thinking of maybe some unexpected ones could team up (because, if you didnât know, I have a this weird obsession with rare character dynamics and relationships) like Tails and Blaze? Because you barely see them together.
I donât know all the characters that are gonna be in the AU yet, but Iâm thinking of Sonic (WHICH ISNâT DEAD OR EVIL FOR ONCE IN A HORROR AU! LETâS GOOOO!!! He suffers with his friends instead of making them suffer himself), Tails Doll, Amy, Knuckles, Blaze, Silver, Shadow, Rouge, maybe even Cream?
I only have some characters sort of planned, so Iâll be talking abt those.
Sonic:

Señor Trauma
He cries has a panic attack and a breakdown (all in separate moments) for the first time in a while lmao
Amy:

Hereâs Amy!! We all know and prolly love her!<3 They all have different designs in this btw, so-
Anyways, I know at some point sheâs left alone, possibly abandoned (thatâs what she assumes anyway) in the garden after choices you make as another character(probably Sonic) (jk cs this isnât a video game but i did explain this at the start), and since I hc her with AMAZING abandonment issuesâŠâ€ïž
Of course thereâs monsters and entities in this, so one of them possibly takes control of Amy? Or tries to, until YOU, AS SILVER, GO TO THE GARDEN AND FIND HER!! There, youâre left with a choice (a bunch of stuff happen prior to this btw, this isnât at the start of the story):

(Also yes thatâs a timer, every second the more red and shaky the screen gets lol. Why?? BC ITS COOL AND STRESSFUL) AND YES. THIS MONSTER/ENTITY/THING IS FLOWER THEMED. AMY ROSE-
Ok uh, if Silver does save her (he has to fight obvi, it isnt that easy), he takes her and they escape to another part of the area? Map? Wtv I call it. And when they can finally take a little break for once, they talk (kind of- Amyâs been quiet (traumatized gal)):

So, uh, yeah. Heavy traumatized now so (also a lot more clingy). ANYWAYS, SILVER AND AMY ARE A DUO IN THIS NOW!!<3
I donât have much else for her now, so letâs go to Silver ??
Silver:

My proudest drawing of this so farđ
I guess he got transported with the others to this dimension. Yeah- he hurts his foot somehow, not sure how yet. Definitely from an entity tho.
First thing he does it try to find if anyone else is here. So⊠he does just that. He enters the weird giant ahh mansion infront of him and calls out for anyone. He explores a ton, finding important objects, a weird doll that looks oddly familiar which he decides to just ignore and leave there, and also hurts his foot as yk- He does reunite with Blaze for a moment, though theyâre immediately separated by obvi another monster.
He gets thrown back outside the mansion, into the garden. In that garden? Well yk what he findsđ
Blaze:

Fun fact: it was this doodle that started this whole thing !!
Also dont have much for Blaze, but sheâs the first I doodled so Iâll be trying to make stuff up abt her in this (maybe on the spot even)
Sheâs confused why she canât teleport back to Sol or anywhere else. Or why she canât escape this mansion-place-thing. Actually theyâre all confused abt that but wtv- Using her pyrokinesis, she can light torches and other things so she can see in darker areas. She can also just light her hand up too, but this takes energy from her ^_^
At some point, she reunites with Silver!! Then theyâre separated by another monster. He was thrown into the garden, while she was thrown into a dark room.
In that room, she finds a doll. It looks a lot like Tails for some reason

Sheâs weirded out and judging it (I would too)
If she grabs it, she notices how real it feels? Like it actually feels like Tails⊠which is creepy. SUDDENLY IT TRIES ATTACKING HER (LOL?) BUTâ
âbefore she has time to process anything, Tails pushes her out of the way (she notices his ear is missing) and points his arm cannon toâŠ
âŠ.whatever that is.
Am I being cringy? Yes. Do i care? âŠhonestly kinda, yeah- but Iâm not gonna let myself do anything abt it
I donât have much else with her. They fight it and become a silly duo and uhhh yeah-
Cream:
No art yet, but sheâs definitely appearing now. Uhh I know she find the doll (btw Iâm refusing to call it âTails Dollâ bc THEYâRE NOT THE SAME! I PROLLY SHOULDNâT HAVE CHOSEN TAILS THEN BUT IDC..) at some point and it tricks her into thinking itâs good. So like she drags it around while she explores, trying to find Amy or anyone.
Uh
This is a horror AU someone has to die rightâ
Idk if Iâm killing her off or not but I might??
If she doesnât die then atleast sheâll be dead inside /silly
Tails:
Also no art yet (other than the one with Blaze I already showed), but basically he was with Sonic when they entered. Bunch of stuff in between happen, they get stuck in a room, Sonic watches the monster-thing literally rip Tailsâs ear off and make a fking doll out of it bc it was feeling a lil quirky (well they do get quirky at night /ref), Sonic then believes Tails is dead, meanwhile Tails literally tried escaping and ended up all the way on the other end of this giant goofy mansionâ
Uh I donât have anything else oop.
I HIT THE IMAGE LIMIT FUKKCCKCKKK uhhh there wasnât much else to add tho sooo? Yeah?? Hope u like it bye. Reminder this is still a WIP and stuff will most likely changeâ ^_^ (I AM EXTREMELY EMBARASSED ABT THIS IF YOU COULDNT TELL.)
Iâll just add the rest of the images in an rb
#cringe#ANOTHER RANDOM STH HORROR AU#i would actually barely count this as horror LOL#im not a GIANT FAN of the genre so#sonic horror au#my bedroom being dark makes the photos so much better<3#sonic the hedgehog#blaze the cat#silver the hedgehog#amy rose#amy the hedgehog#amy rose the hedgehog#miles tails prower#tails the fox#iâd tag tails doll but that technically isnât him#sth#sonic au#sth au#au#sonic#art#my art#doodles#rant#long post#au lore#lore dump#tw missing limb#i dont think an ear is a limb..#tell me if this needs other tws btw

I'm just curious what other ships do you ship and do you have fankids for them.
Good evening! Thank you very much for this ask!:] I apologize for taking so long to answer! This question in particular was a rather thought-provoking, and I practically had to draw every single child that came to mind (rather than Shard, Opal, and Cobalt)
Below, you will find one of the worst ship master lists you may ever see in your entire life.
âââââ
Knuckles x shadow
Blaze x Rouge
Mephiles x Silver
Sonic x Metal sonic
Sally x Amy
Espio x Mighty
Tails x Charmy
Scourge x Sticks..?
Fiona x Surge
Vector and CREAMS MOM (Vanilla)
ââ
Now, one may ask why these remain the main ships of the blog. To that, I say it is because I want to make an attempt to branch out to a few more found ships, followed by some rarer pairings. I want to make things more interesting and see what I can experiment with, and from my personal perspective, some of these are quite endearing.
And with shipping comes many fan kids. Why? Because they are a joy to create. (Offspring will be ordered from youngest to eldest)
ââ
Tick The Bee
Tick the Bee is about five years old and is the creation of Charmy and Tails. Before I explain his origin, Iâd like to address something upfrontâif someone says, âTails would never even try drugs!â youâre absolutely right. He never would under normal circumstances. However, in this alternate universe, Iâve placed him in situations that changed him significantly as he grew older.âeven how his mind works
In his early twenties, on one fateful night, Charmy convinced Tails to try a drug, and the two ended up crashing at Tailsâ lab. While under its influence, Tailsâdriven by his genius, yet impaired stateâcreated an entire child using his own fur and a bit of Charmyâs fuzz. When he woke up the next day, he was met with the shocking sight of the child floating in a large tube.
But this test tube child, Tick, didnât just inherit his fathersâ DNAâhe also absorbed the remnants of the drug in the process. As a result, Tick is extremely hyperactive, chaotic, and twitchy (He also tends to hallucinate almost constantly). He remains mentally unstable in various ways, though itâs difficult to tell, given the ever-present joyful smile on his face.
And no, I have not decided what the drug is yet
Extra Note: He can fly for short distances, and has a stinger at the tip of his tail.
ââ
Rascal The Badger
I honestly canât even explain what made me think Sticks and Scourge would be a good ship in the first place. At first, I was going to write something like, âOh yeah, Scourge and Sticks have a kid, then Sticks gets ditched,â because, letâs be real, Scourge is a terrible partnerâjust look at how he treated Fiona. But that just sounded like an horrible Ken Penders fan fiction, so I conjured something worse (but happier?)
The more I thought about it, the more I asked myself: What if I created a dynamic where Sticks doesnât take any of his crap and, in some way, actually straightens him out? (At least when it comes to how he treats her.) So, thatâs exactly what I did, and thus, Rascal was born.
Unlike some of the other kids, Rascal wasnât lab-grown or artificially createdâhe was conceived the normal way. And letâs be honest, if Scourge ever had a kid, heâd absolutely pick a name as ridiculous as Rascal, and someone like Sticks would totally go along with it.
Now, at seven years old, Rascal is a spunky, adventurous kid who loves the outdoors more than anything else. Heâs fast, athletic, and full of energy, but heâs also reckless when it comes to safety. Nearly every piece of clothing he owns ends up torn to shredsâthough Scourge actually thinks the look is pretty cool. Despite his destructive tendencies, Rascal has a knack for finding hidden treasures, always digging up interesting things whenever he explores the forest.
ââ
Cobalt
Metonic fanchild. Iâve always loved the concept and endless possibilities of Metal Sonic being shipped with Sonic. And, as I tend to do with most of my ships, I wanted to give them a child they would never have under normal circumstances. Thus, Cobalt was createdâhis name taken from the deep, striking shade of Cobalt Blue.
But his creation wasnât exactly straightforward. Cobalt was actually commissioned by Sonic himself, with Tails tasked with building him. Originally, he was meant to be a combat-ready robot, trained to fight and ultimately defeat Metal Sonic. However, his development was riddled with malfunctions, the worst of which was his AI model. Instead of a simple combat program, Cobalt ended up with an extreme level of self-awarenessâone that panicked at its own existence.
As a result, Cobalt became a nervous, self-conscious, overthinking, anxiety-ridden boy failure of a robot. Despite his intended purpose, his training took an unexpected turn as he found himself interacting with both mentor Sonic and accidentallyâŠMetal Sonic. And, over time, the two realized they had unintentionally formed a parental bond with him. (This confused metal the absolute fucking most)
So, in the end, they both quite literally became his fathers.
God. I am worse than Ken Penders. This would never happen. Thereâs an huge chunk of lore missingâtrust me. THESE ARE BRIEF-
Extra Note: His limbs can stretch out very long and he remains with a function to see in the darkâ followed with various others that sense body heat, help with aid,
ââ
Shard The Echidna
I donât even know where to begin with the Knuxadow fanchild. She was the first Sonic fanchild I created when I got back into it. Shard was completely accidentalâher existence wasnât supposed to happen. Elsewhere in this blog, Iâve already provided a biological explanation for how and why she was born despite it being impossible.
Shard is about ten years old, possessing Knucklesâ immense strength but inheriting the absolute shit death glare of her other father. Her personality is cold, calculating, stubborn, and serious. Oh, and I also gave her a complex.
The circumstances of her birth left a heavy impactâher very existence was an anomaly, something that shouldnât have happened. The happening of her egg completely shattered Knuckles, sending him into a spiral of identity crisis, and body and gender dysphoria. Watching her father struggle with what she represented even some years after, had created an internalized the belief that she was a burden, that everything about her was inherently wrong.
As she grows older, she starts noticing something troublingâsheâs becoming increasingly impulsive, more short-tempered, and, at times, physically harmful toward others⊠even toward her own dads. (These Impulsive and intrusive thoughts will get worse.)
ââ
Opal The Cat
Opalâs creation is a bit uniqueâsheâs essentially a collaborative effort between me and my roleplay buddy. I designed her and occasionally contributed to certain aspects, but Iâd say my buddy truly shaped her personality and plays as her.
Opal is a smart, witty, playful, mischievous, and sly tween who happens to be Shard the Echidnaâs closest friend. She absolutely adores her mothers and is very affectionate with her family (a trait she picked up from Rouge). However, if anyone points out her affectionate side, sheâll immediately dial it back.
She also possesses the ability to manipulate light and excels at jumping and climbing to high placesâmaking her just as agile as her parents. (How was she created? I have yet to decide)
ââ
Isaphah the Hedgehog
Isaphah the Hedgehog was, hands down, one of the most challenging designs Iâve worked on. Given that Mephiles essentially looks like Shadow, I had to make sure he didnât come off as just another Shadilver kid.
Isaphah was created through a combination of DNA, Chaos energy, and magic, essentially making him a demigod. At only about 15 years old, he has an ego the size of the universe and speaks with a confidence that borders on arrogance. Snarky and prideful, he carries himself like a young dark prince, with dreams of one day ruling the world.
His powers are nothing short of extraordinaryâhe can control antimatter and form it into building blocks that he uses as weapons. But heâs also learning to create black holes and even manipulate the stars themselves. He enjoys maintaining an air of elegance and indulges in the finer things in life. In fact, he once tore a hole in space, filled with tiny sparkling stars, and now occasionally wears it as a cloak.
Mephiles thinks this kid is kind of fucking awesome.
Silver, on the other hand, has absolutely no idea how to handle a child whoâs going through the most intense power trip imaginable (MEP IS NOT HELPING)
ââ
Spike TheâŠIm even gonna try to pronounce what Iâyou know what? Spike the Armadillo or Chameleon. Either works.
This design was a horrid process.
Now one may askâHow was spike made? Surrogate. (They would never do that)
Spike was one of the eldest kids I created. At eighteen, sheâs almost like the mom of the entire group, always looking out for those around her, especially the more reckless ones like Tick and Rascal. As the child of Mighty and Espio, she combines a blend of stoic strength, laid-back attitude, and the occasional hint of sass.
When sheâs not using her strength in combat, Spike has another abilityâshe can curl up into a ball, perform a spindash, and spike someone with the sharp spines that run along her body. She may seem calm on the surface, but donât underestimate her when she decides to let loose. Spike isnât without her flaws. Despite her laid-back demeanor, sheâs not exactly the brightest in certain situations.
She can be a bit hot-headed, especially during arguments, and when she gets riled up, she tends to say things she might regret later. Her strong sense of protection for others can sometimes cloud her judgment, making her react impulsively. But in the end, her heartâs always in the right place, even if her words donât always match her intentions.
ââ
Serenity The Hedgehog.
Serenity the Hedgehog was created with a very specific goal in mind: I wanted to make a character whoâs deeply focused on all things organicâespecially the healing powers of natureâwithout relying on traditional medication. This is slightly based on some people Iâve met beforeâŠAt 19 years old, Serenity is obsessed with the magic of crystals. In the Sonic universe, crystals and gemstones do hold magic, but Serenity goes beyond that. She focuses on magic-less crystals, claiming they have the ability to cure various illnesses. (Way to fucking go)
Her claims can be pretty wild at times, like insisting that certain medications donât work or are unnecessary. But while her approach at life is an utter a weakness, itâs also a strength. Serenityâs knowledge of herbs is extensiveâsheâs able to identify them on sight and knows their true healing properties. Occasionally, she even finds magical crystals that offer specific benefits.
And, on top of that, sheâs got a talent for cooking. Sheâs known for her âwatch me make brownies with black beansâ gimmick, which she uses to make delicious recipes. These are especially helpful for those who need to restrict their diets for medical reasons or those looking for healthier alternatives. Serenity may be a little unconventional, but her heartâs in the right place, and her skills can be surprisingly useful!
Extra Note: She doesnât use a phone often and normally keeps it on airplane mode with the claim that: âThe EMFâs will give you cancer. Trust me broâ

Sonic Shipping
Shipping characters from a franchise where there aren't really any canon relationships is very... interesting. Let's get into it.
Sidenote: I'm not covering every possible ship, just ones I have something to say about. Also can we come up with better ship names please? Thanks.
Sonic x Amy So everyone knows SonAmy, it certainly is a ship. I like the trope of "head over heels" x "uninterested tease", but Sonic gives Amy nothing. And more often than not, Amy's character is completely reduced to being in love with Sonic. Sega has gotten better about the latter in recent years, at least. I still don't find this ship very appealingâ I get it, but it's not for me. However, people have been theorizing that in the fourth movie, Sonic will be the one with the unrequited crush. That would be a super interesting shift in dynamic, and I'd definitely be more invested if that happens.
Metal Sonic x Amy Okay this is a bit more interesting. Metal Sonic is an incredibly tragic characterâ someone who full heartedly believes he is someone else, yet can never seem to quite match his strength. He's been labeled a failure by Eggman, and is continuously beaten and broken until he is less than Sonic. Amy, on the other hand, is kind and caring to all creatures, so naturally she sees the best in Metal. It's cute seeing him be treated with love for the first time, like a lost little puppy. I think this relationship is strictly romantic (personally, I think Metal is autistic and asexual) but it's something they both need. Very cute.
Sonic x Knuckles Knuckles acts as a great foil to Sonic. Where Sonic is free-spirited and wild, Knuckles is disciplined, and stuck protecting Angel Island and the Master Emerald. Honestly, he might even be a better foil than Shadow, who sort of just shows up out of nowhere. They're more so symbolic opposites, in my opinion. At the same time, Sonic and Knuckles are friends, where as Shadow didn't even show up to Sonic's birthday party </3 It's hard to imagine enemies to lovers when they're stuck in the Friend Zone. Decent ship, not really for me.
Sonic x Shadow I mean what do I have to say. This is The Ship of the fandom. Unpopular opinion, but I don't care about Shadow that much :-/ So even though this ship is skibidi sigma slay and I totally agree with it, it's not my favorite. It's still endgame though.
Shadow x Amy They're besties and that's that.
Shadow x Rouge Shadow and Rouge are obviously a gay/lesbian duo, so I don't understand the appeal. I do love them as friends though.
Knuckles x Rouge It's so gooood. They're always bickering, always at odds, and yet they can't resist each other. I love Rebel Rouge and Renegade Knucks from Prime, so good. I'm not usually one for straight ships, but in my mind its bi4bi so we're safe.
Silver x Blaze I love them as friends, they're both autistic and asexual <3 However, I disagree with shipping them romantically. To me, they're another iconic gay/lesbian duo. For those who've read Homestuck, they're basically moirails.
Sonic x Blaze I was a bit of a hater at first, but I've grown to somewhat like it. They have some cute moments, especially in the IDW comics. I like to think that Blaze has unrequited feelings for Sonic, but it's just something she likes to think about from time to time. They're not necessarily romantic feelings, but she loves how he challenges her, and strives to be as carefree as he is.
Sonic x Silver I love gay hedgehogs as much as the next guy, but I just don't get this one. Maybe that'll change after I play Sonic 06, but as much as I want to love it, I just find it mediocre.
Silver x Espio I truly did not understand this at first. I thought someone just took their two favorite characters and made them kiss. However, after reading the IDW comics, I still didn't understand it. Then I looked at ship art and thought about it more and I kind of like it. They have surprisingly similar personalities and interests, but are just different enough to be unique. I think they're both ace, but Espio definitely leans a bit more towards allosexual. I love the idea of him trying to kiss Silver, but he gets flustered and shy.
Vector x Vanilla They're so silly!! Oh man I was floored when I first read the IDW comics and learned that Vector was into milfs. I also didn't realize he was twentyâ I like the idea of him being fresh into the dating people as a young adult; he could have anyone he wants, and he goes straight for Cream's mom. It's so iconic, and Vanilla seems into it if you ask me...
Tails x Cosmo I need to watch Sonic X before deciding if I like this or not. I at least know that they touch upon it in the show, so I can at least understand it.
Tails x Cream There's not much merritt to this, in my opinion. I feel like people ship them just because they're both childrenâ which I guess is fine? Personally, I don't like shipping children because they don't have the same concepts of love and romance that adults, or even teens, do. Nonetheless, I like Tails and I like Cream, so who knows. Maybe it would be a good ship.
Charmy x Cream I've seen so many future AUs where Vector and Espio leave the Chaotix, and Charmy continues it with Cream, and it feels so right to me. I wouldn't ship them romantically, but I love that they're detective partners.
Whisper x Tangle I mean they're basically canon. Both great characters, and both them and their friendship have great arcs. Personally, I don't see them being very sexual? Maybe they're ace4ace, or platonic soulmates, or whatever term you could come up with. Either way, they belong with each other <3
Surge x Amy At first, I thought people just wanted toxic yuri. Of course there's merritt to that, but it wasn't for me. Then I thought about how Surge is a parallel to Sonic, and it started making sense. They don't have enough interactions for me to be interested, but I hope that changes.
Dr. Robotnik x Agent Stone Do I even have to say anything.
Here's what I consider canon/endgame in my own mind (as described above): - Sonic x Shadow - Charmy x Cream - Metal Sonic x Amy - Vector x Vanilla - Knuckles x Rouge - Whisper x Tangle - Silver x Espio - Robotnik x Stone
Addendum: I love learning about rare pairs and seeing what dynamics come out, even though they're usually a bust. Let me know if there are any good ships I missed.

Regarding the Sonic Generations changes, Amy fans in particular have been getting so upset about them. I personally don't care about things like Amy's character bio no longer mentioning her crush on Sonic because it's something that goes without saying. Ask anyone what they know about Amy Rose and they'll say "She loves Sonic". In Sonic CD, Amy's first appearance, before we learn anything else about her, she's constantly following Sonic and clinging onto him. Loving Sonic was her purpose for existence and it's what she'll always be known for. Making a female character for the sole purpose of being obsessed with a male character and having that be her only trait in her first appearance was certainly...a decision.
I think Sega kind of shot themselves in the foot here. This is different from, say, Princess Peach because being a damsel in distress isn't a personality, but something that happens to a character. Even though Peach was a damsel for decades, Nintendo still had the opportunity to give her interesting traits and allow her to grow out of the damsel role. It would be one thing if Amy was just a damsel in her first appearance, but she was also hindered by the fact that Sega made loving Sonic her defining personality trait on top of that. So if Amy's crush isn't at the forefront of her character 24/7 and Sega tries to explore other aspects of her personality, fans proceed to get pissed. As a result, the things Amy can do in a given plotline is limited because fans don't want her to do anything if it doesn't circle back to her infatuation with Sonic.
Some fans claim nothing was wrong in the first place and Amy's over-the-top clinginess to Sonic made their dynamic unique and interesting, but I beg to differ. It being "unique" doesn't translate to being "good" and many people found this behavior creepy and boundary-pushing instead of cute. The "girl obsessively chases after guy" trope may have been novel in the 90s, but it's practically a tired cliche in this day and age, and these characters archetypes are almost always never liked. In most cases, these characters are intentionally made to be unlikable (Panini from Chowder, Tootie from Fairly Odd Parents, Sierra from Total Drama Island) but Amy is a character that we're supposed to like. She reuinited a bird with its family and managed to convince Shadow to save the planet. She's a hero, but those moments of heroism were few and far between and vastly overshadowed by her obsession with Sonic. Not to mention that people are more likely to side with Sonic's viewpoint simply by virtue of him being the main character, so if he's shown to think Amy is just some weird girl, then most of the audience will too and not bother looking any deeper into her character. The main female character having that sort of reputation isn't a good look. They had to make some changes.
The thing is, Amy has demonstrated her love for Sonic so much that she doesn't even need to say anything for people to know. I'm fine with Amy's crush no longer being her main character trait. I can't help but roll my eyes when fans act like focusing on other aspects of her character is some egregious offense. Also, fans stupidly calling the changes "censoring" (which it's not) has caught the attention of right-wing grifters on YouTube and Twitter, causing them to freak out about Sega "g0inG WOKE! đĄ" and all the other typical nonsense. So thanks for that.

I love the service animal AU so much, and I think the dynamics you thought up are very interesting!! Personally I think exploring a type of relationship that's basically not possible in real life is way more fun and more interesting than just saying "oh they are siblings" (even tho I do love that interpretation as well, just in other AUs where this is not the point).
I also really love the idea of Sonic being the one to help them have a healthier relationship with eachother and themselves, because Maria can't be the one to make Shadow understand that he CAN be his own person when she's his charge, and Shadow can't be the friend Maria needs when she literally needs him to live!
I think this is a 10/10 AU! I would love to see more of it!!
Omg thank you!! Sorry this took me so long to answer! Although Shadow can perhaps be closely compared to an indentured servant of some kind, being made expressly for the purpose of being a cure to Maria adds an element thatâs different from anything in real life.
Sonic has such a powerful ability to act as the catalyst for change in others, and although we get to see it with Shadow (to an extent!) in canon, obviously heâs never met Maria. I just know her and Sonic wouldâve liked each other, and for this au Shadow is inclined to respect those who Maria likes. Given heâs the only friend the two of them make, his impact is huge! Heâs inspirational. He doesnât have to make Shadow or Maria âchangeâ who they are, only helps them realize theyâre their own worst enemy.

So, I watched Sonic 3 today.
I wish they would have continued on from the growth of Sonic calling Tom and Maddie his parents from the end of Sonic 2. Also in that vein, I want Knuckles to call Sonic and Tails by their names at least even if he's not at the point of calling Tom and Maddie his parents, too (he did at least call Maddie by her name in the Blu-Ray Drone Home short, so calling her by Sonic's nickname in this movie was a step back)
Continuity error spotted: at the end of Sonic 1, they moved Sonic's stuff from his cave to his new room in the attic, so the cave should have been empty or they should have mentioned offhandedly that they had to leave some stuff behind because it wouldn't fit or it was too damaged or something
It's been a few YEARS since Sonic was discovered (per Ivo's comment about trying to get him for years + Tom and Maddie talking about the busy past few years)??! I knew at the beginning of Sonic 2 Ivo had said it'd been 243 days in "portobello purgatory," but, wow, it's been a while between 1 and 3. That explains why they're all so close to Tom and Maddie's heights at the end of the movie's group camping shot....they're growing up. :') Though it also begs the question how old they are now--Sonic couldn't have been any younger than 4 years old to remember Longclaw/10 years passed since she died and the events of Sonic 1 happened, so that would mean he's 16 now since it's plural years??? I guess older ages than what they are in the games would suit them...or at least Knuckles with his 40-year-old-man voice
Sonic 3 takes place in 2024: confirmed
In Sonic 2, Tom and Maddie were worried about Sonic tackling stuff on his own because he was a kid and needed to grow up more--did that change because a few years have passed, or because he has his own "team" now? I know there was a timeskip between Sonic 2 and 3 (and Walters acknowledged at the end of Sonic 2 that Sonic was on their side), but I feel like G.U.N. having Team Sonic on call was a surprise--it wasn't even mentioned in the Knuckles series or anything.
At the end of Sonic 1, Maddie mentioned to Sonic that he had to go to bed early because it was a school night. Does Sonic 3 take place during summer vacation (since the weather is nice enough for camping)? I want to see these kids in school, dangit!
I don't like how Tom and Maddie act together in this movie. Tom says through his puppet that he should leave her...Tom makes eyes at the projection of the military lady...Maddie sucker punches Tom in response and he looks very much in pain... Not a healthy dynamic anymore :(
Why is Gerald alive. He is 110 years old and still moving and grooving like nothing?
So....SCU!Shadow just....straight-up wants revenge on all of humanity? Without any amnesia making him more malleable to committing planet-wide genocide?? They were torturing him with dreams of Maria's death for 50 years straight??????? He and Gerald were totally fine with ultimately being caught in the explosion, too?????????????????? How is this movie still PG
Shadow's change of heart did not feel appropriate. After 50 years of torture and being fine with the idea of nuking the planet, a single flashback would not change his mind. At least in Sonic 2, we see Knuckles gradually realizing Robotnik isn't that great of a person and how Sonic's values are good--Knuckles also wasn't TRAPPED IN A MIND PRISON FOR FIFTY YEARS STRAIGHT.
SCU!Shadow was discovered instead of created, so doesn't that make him not the "ultimate lifeform" anymore since he doesn't have a purpose? Maria isn't even sick in this version (which I think hampered any reasoning for her being at the base, especially in such top-secret areas). I guess the Biolizard doesn't exist, either? At least completely flipping his backstory to make him on Earth wanting to see the stars instead of the reverse makes sense. They didn't even explain his inhibitor rings, but he still took them off for a power boost at the end... Do the Black Arms exist???? Does The End or the Ancients???? Why DOES he look like Sonic if he wasn't modelled off his prophecy mural?
Why is SCU!Knuckles scared of ghosts if, per the Knuckles series, he regularly sees the ghost of his dead tribe leader?
Knuckles was BEST. BOY. in this movie!!!!!!!!!! Every scene he was in was perfect!!!!!!!! He knows about Pokémon! His "Don't do this!" was so wrenching, good lord. TT-TT Then he stands down?!! Then he SAVES SONIC AND TAILS FROM BEING BURNED UP IN THE EARTH'S ATMOSPHERE?!!!
Why did they leave Knuckles behind in the ark when it was actively going to explode??? He gave his last ring to Tails, so what was the plan for him??? Also, why didn't Knuckles bring Ivo with him when he leapt out? Could he not find him in time, did he think it was fine to leave him to die since he was their enemy, or did he not think of it?
Is Eggman really dead in the SCU now? I don't see how that would stick, but also how would he survive? Shadow surviving is more reasonable since he was in Super mode at the time of the explosion, and fits with the reveal of him having actually survived in his game
Glad Stone finally got thrown a bone! Though I wonder what he'll do now...
Sonic and Shadow should have gone blind staring at the sun like that, pffff
I just realized Tails is the only one in the SCU so far without a tragic backstory. Like, from Sonic 2, he kept his original backstory of just being made fun of for his tails, which is nowhere near the level of "my adoptive mom got killed in tribal warfare/my entire tribe was massacred in tribal warfare/my adoptive sister was gunned down by the government." We haven't even had any flashbacks for Tails...very strange
I know they probably amped up the wacky humor aspects for this movie to offset the body count (Maria, Commander Walters, Gerald, Ivo, Shadow-ish), but it really fell flat for me (the one-liners were still pretty good, but the comedy scenes were always too much). I rewatched Sonic 1 & 2 yesterday to prep for 3, and I was laughing throughout both of them. They could have leaned more into the seriousness of the content like the masterpiece that was Kung Fu Panda 2
The SCU is now facing the Steven Universe Problem: the stakes are too high for regular shenanigans. Sonic 2 was perfect because everything was still personal and surrounding the ultimate plotline of Sonic integrating into familial life on Earth, but now things are too big. We already had Maddie and Tom abandoned at the beginning of the movie, and they felt forced into the plot compared to the smooth fusion of the A and B plot of the Sonic 2 wedding (the location of the Master Emerald even happened to be within visible distance of the wedding site) and left almost immediately after Tom got wrecked (also, why did Tom have a broken arm instead of broken ribs or something after getting socked square in the trunk by Shadow?). I really hope they have more family stuff going on in Sonic 4, otherwise they're going to make Tom and Maddie feel completely irrelevant
I knew the Knuckles series was canon, but it still pained me extremely to see Wade being appointed the guardian of the Master Emerald because I hate him
Minor nitpick: Tom should have mentioned his brothers in Sonic 2 when he was saying he wanted Sonic to have a team/wingmen. The reveal that he has brothers seems out of left field since we're three movies in and we just found that out
AMY CONFIRMED! How is Metal Sonic a thing if Ivo is dead, though? Why did they not just have her be the catalyst for Shadow remembering his real promise to Maria like she was originally? They introduced both Tails and Knuckles in Sonic 2, so why did they save her for Sonic 4 and make Shadow's backstory so weird instead?
Keanu Reaves did a much better job with Shadow's voice than the current, sneering Batman wannabe one from the games
Overall, the movie felt a bit disjointed, fell back into Sonic 1's trap of telling instead of showing (particularly the heart-to-hearts), and left me with more questions than answers. 7/10 on my first watch (Sonic 1 = 8/10 told instead of showed and had some bad acting from the humans; Sonic 2 = 9/10 hilarious, but needed more Knuckles and the pivonka scene dragged a bit; Knuckles series = 3/10 desperately needed more Knuckles)
#anyway: many thoughts head full can't wait for sonic 4 in 3 years i hope it's good#sonic 3#sonic movie 3#sonic cinematic universe#sonic movie 3 spoilers#sonic 3 spoilers#mine
