Last Song: "The Phoenix" by Fall Out Boy

Last Book: "A Court of Silver Flames" by Sarah J Maas. Probably about half way through at this point? I'm not sure since its been a hot minute since I picked it up last. I've gotten distracted by my newest hyperfixation.

Last Movie: Star Wars Episode 2 Attack of the Clones since it was on at work.

Last TV Show: I don't really watch TV much since we don't have actual cable. Soooo changing this to the last anime watched which would be the remake of Rurouni Kenshin.

Sweet/Savoury/Spicy: Sweet, savoury, and then spicy. Spice and I don't go well together since it physically burns my mouth every time I try eating it.

Relationship Status: Married~ <3

Last Thing I Googled: How to romance The Hex members in Warframe. I was NOT about to mess up those conversations with Arthur. lol

Current Obsession: Love and Deepspace is my current hyperfixation. Sylus makes me feral while also helping to heal my long-held trauma. Never saw that coming when I started playing. My husband laughs and encourages my behavior. lol

Looking Forward To: Getting a new graphics card later this year. I'm really hoping prices for what I want to go down once the new ones are released.

Secret 10th Thing (this list stopped at 9 things so I’m adding another): I've done a much better job the past few months working on my novel and building my creation myth for it~ Quite proud of myself for getting back into writing. Also mulling around some fanfic ideas for LaDs. I'd love to get into the fandom more this year.

As gen-AI becomes more normalized (Chappell Roan encouraging it, grifters on the rise, young artists using it), I wanna express how I will never turn to it because it fundamentally bores me to my core. There is no reason for me to want to use gen-AI because I will never want to give up my autonomy in creating art. I never want to become reliant on an inhuman object for expression, least of all if that object is created and controlled by tech companies. I draw not because I want a drawing but because I love the process of drawing. So even in a future where everyone’s accepted it, I’m never gonna sway on this.

I just think everyone should take a moment to consider the question "what is your visual shorthand for cruelty?" and then follow it up with a critical "and who taught you that?"

specific examples include but are not limited to

why is an evil timeline character design disabled? (why do the heroes go through equally punishing battles and never lose an arm, a leg, an eye?)

why are the futuristic scifi terrorists uniformly darker skinned? (why are the heroes so much lighter?)

why is the greedy boss fat? (why are the heroes skinny?)

why is the criminal mastermind heavily scarred? (why is the brooding, traumatized hero unscathed?)

why is the predatory creep a bearded person in a dress and makeup? (why are none of the heroes trans women?)

who taught you that this is how things are?

how long do you plan on repeating it?

had a real life "and everybody clapped" moment and im still reeling. spent the rest of the ride comparing butterfly pics with the old lady next to me trying to identify it

I'm as grateful for cellphones as the next person, but sometimes I think about how everyone having a phone on them at all times really did cause us to loose some things as a society. I mean - for example, kids these days will never experience their car breaking down and needing to find the nearest place with a phone they can use. They're never going to have the opportunity to tentatively approach a house only to discover that it's full of queer people having a party hosted by a transvestite to celebrate his creation of a sex homunculus, stay the night, and loose their virginity while unintentionally partaking in cannibalism. It's tragic, that kind of gay sexual awakening just doesn't happen these days because of cellphones.

not to sound like a boomer, but I need some people to learn how to write emails in a semi-professional (at the very least) format so you're not cold emailing a business/potential employer/any other stranger about formal matters in the exact same way you'd DM a close friend on instagram

the formality/language can loosen up in the email chain once you've established a rapport and you match the other person if they're being less formal, but please don't have the very first email you send a stranger be written in all lowercase ultra-casual sms slang with no greeting or signature and a billion emojis
