Killua taking Gon on a date? (゚∀゚)
Was just continuing my rewatch on HxH, and something IMMEDIATELY caught my eye. I believe it is yet another silly subtext on Killua's romantic feelings towards Gon that Togashi put xD. (This happened on episode 86—which is chapter 201 in the manga!)
I'll be talking about this specific panel:
Oke so this happened right after Killua and Gon met Palm. They go to a restaurant so they can have their conversation about this Knuckle and Shoot thing. It's perfectly normal to choose a restaurant for that since Killua and Gon mostly go to restaurants to discuss stuff. But I 100% believe this specific restaurant conversation was a date, because !!! it's definitely a love restaurant. AND I HAVE PROOF SO SHH!!!
First of all, the uniform of the waitress:
She's legit dressed like those waitresses you see in Shoujo animes where the couple goes on a restaurant/cafe date. Not to mention, the literal heart on her chest!!
If that's not convincing enough, then literally look at this omurice:
The word on the omurice is written in the HxH alphabet, but I managed to translate it. :3
Ra, Fu, and a dakuten. The dakuten sign transforms F -> B = Bu. I'm also aware that the letter I is the same as the dakuten sign, but since it's small, and was placed at the top of Fu, then it's a dakuten. This means that it spells out -Rabu- which is the Japanese pronounciation of love. ᵔᴗᵔ
Now, I know the manga panel did not highlight or even write that on the food, but it's safe to assume that the animators drew that to imply that this IS a love restaurant. Seeing Togashi's drawing of the uniform, the animators understood what type of uniform that was, and where it's worn. Then proceeded to make it clear for us viewers that Killua and Gon are in a love restaurant by drawing "love" on the food.
And also, the waitress literally appears in front which covers Killua and Gon. I find it funny cause Togashi's obviously implying that this waitress is important to look at, like "BOOM check this waitress out!!! I'm highlighting what type of waitress she is, so look! Look at her!"
But that's not all, I also noticed the food being prepared at Killua and Gon's table.
That's quite a lot of food being prepared, and they look good too. It's not the usual -fast food, big meat, big chicken, spaghetti, orange juice- typa shit like what these two usually order. There's cake, pasta, coffee/tea (i can't tell), smoothies, and whatever else is there. And you know what this looks like? Killua working his ass off to properly choose and prepare nice and decent food for him and Gon—like he's arranging a date! (^^)b
I personally think Killua's the one who chose the restaurant, and the one who ordered the food because Gon just doesn't look like the type to give a shit about where they eat, nor choose those types of food, and Killua being the type to arrange where they eat cause he's that picky rich kid with tastes lol.
ANYWAAAYYY it's too convincing that he took Gon on a date, cause this also happened right a lil' bit after the "Gon you are light" scene—which we all claim as the confirmation of Killua's romantic feelings for Gon. So it's like Killua's just acting on crush instincts. ◠ᗜ◠ It genuinely seemed like he took their discussion—about Knuckle and Shoot—as an opportunity to take Gon on a date, too. (He sneaky as heeelll.)
This was nothing too serious, I just thought it was a cute and adorable detail that Togashi added!

I really don't want to seem like a terrible person and I'm still trying to better understand the topic, but I want to talk about my situation with Entrapta. When I was watching She-ra, I didn't know that she was autistic. I didn't know much about autism at all. And I was genuinely annoyed that Entrapta was behaving quite childishly, that she had so easily switched to the side of evil, and so on. I had no idea why she was doing this. Only after understanding the issue a little, I was able to justify for myself many of her actions, and I felt uncomfortable with the actions of the princesses, although initially I understood their irritation very well. And I think it would be better to She-Ra to show the problem of ignorance about autism by making it so that the princesses did not know about Entrapta's autism, did not know how it affects her, like it was with me. Initially, they would have seen Entrapta as a person who just doesn't care about them, so they also didn't really want to get close to her. But having learned from her that she sincerely wants to be useful to them because she just wants to be friends, but because is difficult for her to understand other people she cannot express the way princesses are used to, they would sincerely apologize and start looking for ways to get closer to Entrapta, realizing that she is different from them, but does not wish harm. And it would definitely be worth removing many of the disgusting moments from the show (such as the moment with the leash) too. Yes, it would probably be quite naive and childish, but the whole She-ra is not mature in general.
Maybe I forgot some moments because I have no desire to rewatch this mess. And I'm sure that ideally it would be better to show an initially normal and adequate attitude to Entrapta, but I just wanted to tell about the situation from a slightly different angle.
And I'm very sorry if I made any mistakes in understanding autism and said something wrong, I just recently started to understand this topic and still may not fully understand
don't worry, you're not a terrible person! it's already a good thing that you're willing to learn more about autism and correct yourself if necessary, not many people do that! and i get your point, i think it's natural for a lot of allistic people to get irritated at autistic people, because they don't know much about autism.
if the princesses were just kinda rude to entrapta, i wouldn't think much of it. but putting someone on a leash and dragging them around is a horrible thing to do to anyone, regardless of how annoying they are. there were a lot of other annoying characters in the show (like seahawk) who wasn't treated the same way entrapta was. it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
and yes, it would have definitely been a better choice to let the princesses realize their mistakes and try to be better friends to entrapta. but then again, spop sucks at writing good character development and healthy relationships. sure, mermista is kinda nice to entrapta in the end but that's only because entrapta proved to be useful, not because they like her for who she is.
this show is really not as progressive as it claims, and you'll start to see the cracks once you watch it with a more critical eye.

I am still a little obsessed with this
I had an idea for a Catradora fic like a year ago and ugggh I'd need to rewatch the whole show to do it any justice and I dunno if I have the patience
Anyway have some barely-edited info-dumping I did last March in a tiny discord server for a completely different cartoon ship*:
The other night when I couldn't sleep it occurred to me that there could/should be a very realistic fic out there of catra and adora, after the events of the last season, having a very passionate but over-dramatic relationship for a couple of years, then breaking up and getting back together multiple times before one or both of them decides Actually, we have to break up, for real, we are slowly killing each other over this; and one of them moves away and they both get therapy of some kind and both try dating other people but it just isn't working out (I can absolutely see Adora in a relationship that's perfectly fine and healthy but also boring as fuck, and her just thinking: huh, I guess normal people are supposed to feel like this? but it just feels like it's missing something, but the thing it's missing might just be a lot of arguing and crying and make-up sex, so like, I should just. stop missing that. probably. And Catra ending up in a bunch of short-term things where all of them end with either the other person going dude you are in love with someone else and I can tell or her feeling guilty and breaking it off bc the other person is obviously more into her than vice-versa)
And anyway after like ten years or something they see each other but one or both is still dating someone else and it's like ha ha our younger days were SOMETHING ELSE weren't they, oh did you get therapy oh good me too, I'm glad you're doing well, nice to bump into you :) but they're both internally screaming because yeah those feelings are Still There, fuck fuck fuck
The current partner of whichever of them dumps them bc "you're still in love with your ex" but neither of them say why the dump happened and the dumped one doesn't say anything to the other, which means they hear about it through the grapevine, and their heart goes YOOOOO and their brain goes "I thought we were actually done with this and being Good about it fuck fuck fuck" and theyre both :) still normal to each other :) all the time :)
PINING I love pining hhh lol
But yeah there's, I dunno. A party? with a lot of people? maybe they each have one (1) drink, not even enough to impair them, and the next thing you know they're making out in a closet or something somewhere, and then one or both of them is crying hysterically, and after a lot of talking they're like, I want to try again. But as actual adults who've had time to grow up and have a lot of therapy. So they do, and it's good, and all their friends are like Oh thank god you two are both the stupidest motherfuckers on earth.
Halfway through the first post I realized I am half re-writing one of my fave Sherlock fics but putting it on top of She-Ra characters and adapting it to spop's plot but it'S JUST A GOOD STORy and honestly how it would actually happen
Because they were SO YOUNG in the show and neither of them had ever seen a healthy relationship modeled, ever, by anyone; and they're both heavily traumatized on top of it. And love isn't always be enough to deal with all of that. It's just not.
Me: this would make a good romance novel if we could file off the serial numbers
Also me: it's only interesting to me because it's THESE CHARACTERS like how the fuck would you include the backstory lolol
My dumb brain is like, "look I know spop ended three years ago and also, this is obviously the kind of story that AN ACTUAL ADULT writes, generally speaking; so nobody would read it, but what if you spent a year writing this"
But also half the plot feels like it's lifted from The Speed of Objects in Motion by holyfant (linked above) which is still, easily, one of my top-two Sherlock fics of all time, bc it's just so painfully realistic--they do end up together again at the end, but there's a lot off off-again/on-again and arguing and then a few years they're not together in the meantime
Anyway, re: spop: Fate and destiny are great but real happily ever afters would be so hard with everything that lead up to the end of the series
------------
>:( at myself for being like "oh it would take a year to write this" bc if I had actually done it I would be done by now pfffffft

Next up for Cartoon Network era of shows, who is your favorite character from each of the 2000-03 half of the Cartoon Cartoons-era shows you've seen like: Sheep in the Big City, Time Squad, Samurai Jack, Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Evil Con Carne, Whatever Happened to Robot Jones, Codename Kids Next Door, and Star Wars Clone Wars 2003?
I realize now this was about CHARACTERS not just the shows in general. Since I did on the first one though, i'll give my opinons AND the characters to split the diffrence. First covering last time Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, Cow & Chicken, I Am Weasel, The Powerpuff Girls 1998, Ed Edd n Eddy, Mike Lu and Og, and Courage the Cowardly Dog.
In order: DL: Dexter's Dad, easily one of Jeff Bennet's performances and I feel bad I had no idea it was him ands not phil hartman. Johnny Bravo: Carol, as him dating an antelope is just.. such a hilariousl awkward concept, and this is coming from a guy who dosen't have the best cringe comedy tolerance. Chronos MASTER OF TIME and the Nixon Shark are both close seconds. Cow and Chicken: The Big Red Guy: the sohw itself may be mixed but god I love him IAW: Weasel. Easily The Power Puff Girls: Hmmm this is a hard one but due to a thing i'm working on and his general meanace I have to go with him. He had a uniqueness to his apperances: It was always going to be terrifying unless it was with other villians and always something unique and memorable. EEE: Ed. He's truly the best and a meme machine fo ra reason Mike Lu and Og: Mike herself whose a nice mix of ignoarant yet still savy. Courage: The boy himself out of the main cast though pretty much every character here is fantastic. Kitty out of the antagonists, as she's the most tragic, has a truly creepy deisgn and was a gay character long before that was common OKay now onto the next era Sheep in the Big City: This is one I need to rewatch as my recent kablam retrospective (Please check it out), had me rewatch the off beats and I like Willems sense of humor and might ge tit more. The sheep himself is my faviorite, having a great design, likeable demeanor and nice bleats. Time Squad: Another one I need to revisit and a true classic: Simple premise, hilaroius characters and Larry 3000 is easly my faviorite. C3PO if they meant for him to be gay. Samurai Jack: Like most of these in this installment I need to revisit it. One of the best cartoons ever. Havne't checked out the last season, hear mixed things. Faviroite is the scotsman: he's hilaroius, fun to watch and a nice counterpart to jack being just as capable but everything our boy isn't. Billy and Mandy: A comedy classic. A bit too mean for i'ts own good sometimes, but a truely great horror comedy most of the time: creative premise, truly stacked cast of side characters, and richard steven horvitz greatest performance til lhelluva boss (zim is VERY close to billy though. ) Faviorite character is asking a lot of me, but I have to go with my childhood faviorite, Dracula. He could've aged poorly and shoudl have, he is making fun of blaxplotatoin.. but he never feels like a black sterotype, just a cranky throughly weird old man Evil Con Carne: One I need to revisit, yes AGAIN, and a show I always felt was undereatted. It just never took off the way Billy and Mandy did and you can tell maxwell atoms still had affection for it given he both ported skar over to billy and mandy (A really great decision and one I dearly love) and brought hector and ghastly back for one last hurrah. It was also one of my first exposures to Grey DeLise and Armin Shimmerman (Though I jus tlearned about the latter), and one of Phil LaMarr's best roles. With that last qualifier, Hector is my faviorite: his pomoposity, voice and being shoved in a bear are all great.
Whatever Happened to Robot Jones?: Need to revisit it you know the drill. Has a great title character, also my faviorite, concept but I don't remember it a ton. KND: Easily my third faviorite Cartoon Network show. A gloriously built world that's both nicely detailed and approriately childish, and a show that evolved from a pretty one note premise to a truly wonderfully thought out masterpiece that parodied just about everything with a nice chunk of x-men refrences. Faviorite is Numbah 2. Hoagie is just the best and his solo adventures tended to be some of the best of the series.
Clone Wars (Genndy's Version): Another one that, say it with me now "I need to revisit" and a true classic. Beautifully animated, great to watch. I will say the second season isn't quite AS good, trying a bit harder to be a lead int oa movie loosing the sheer flexiblity and cretivity season 1 had. I mean season 1 has mace windu going bare fisted monk on a bunch of droids alongside the ongoing arcs about ventress and whatever his name was. It also made general grevous a massive disapointment in the films.

not a top 5/top 10 ask, but it's still a ranking question: you said before that Katara, Santana, Marceline, Korra and Asami are your top 5 favorite characters of all time and that Korrasami, Bubbline, Brittana, Hollstein and Catradora are your top 5 ships of all time. How would you rank the characters that are part of your OTPs but didn't make it into the list of faves of all time (Brittany, PB, Carmilla, Laura, Catra and Adora)?
(Can you tell that I've been binge reading your blog? 🙈)
Well first off I'm honoured you'd be binging my blog, hope you had fun! Second, fun question let's get into it.
Hard to choose between Hollstein and PB, they're so similar in terms of appreciation in my mind. In fact, one of the great essays that never was is a Bubbline and Hollstein comparison post. "Of Nerds and Vampires," ah yes, posts that will always just be half-finished word docs on my desktop. But all that said, Hollstein are so equally matched to me they have to be following each other and I can't bear to put PB third because I've come to love her so much. So:
Bonnibel Bubblegum - She wins out because she's SO different from what people first expect of her and I just love her in all her tyrannical glory. A much, much more complex character than many give her credit for and I adore the moral grey area she lives in. Definition of women can be war criminals too.
Laura Hollis - It feels kinda strange to rank her above Carmilla as Carmilla is basically just My Type as a character and I did start the series preferring her. But Laura grows on you and she's just so damn endearing in all her naïvety and relentless optimism. I just find characters who stay kind and compassionate no matter what so damn compelling. Being nice is a superpower.
Carmilla Karnstein - Do not worry Carmilla isn’t far behind. She’s the OG lesbian vampire, what else is there to say. Well, lots, from tragic backstories to moral ambiguity to a desire, despite all that, to be good in some way. Even if that goodness only relates to connections with others, but I mean what is ‘good’ if not what we do for each other. Very Character. Much Vampire.
Brittany S Pierce - I feel there’s a clear distinction between the top three and bottom three here but I still very much like the bottom three. I think ranking Britt here above Catradora is just me being in my Glee brainrot era because I do find the other two more well-developed and compelling characters. But just in terms of how I feel right now and because I’m actively in the Glee fandom but haven’t rewatched She-Ra in a long while, I’ll say Britt. My love for her is reignited literally any time I watch a scene she’s in. Precious unicorn.
Adora - Again I feel like I “should” rank the more morally grey character first because that’s more my type but Adora called to me. Differently than PB or Laura did, more in the Korra way. If Bubbline and Hollstein are parallel versions then Korrasami... well their parallel is Supercorp, but Adora is a different universe and hero’s journey version of Korra. You know, I never used to go hard for protagonists before Korra but here I am with Adora now as well. She’s Anxiety™ and martyr complex and truly just has so much baggage but she gets her happy ending and I love her journey.
Catra - I do have a slight not like other girls bias against Catra, I must confess. By which I mean that after a certain point a character gets so popular that even if you see the appeal you kind of get turned off, which I’ll call the Zuko Syndrome. Both because he’s the first example in my fandom experience and because, well, I think there are other similarities with these two. But for real Catra is a super super complex character and I’m nothing if not a lover of messed up female characters. Catra is so deeply flawed in a way that I instinctively turn away from because it hits too close to home but also am drawn to because the story is so... kind to her. I do think her redemption is done well in a sense that it’s not like she faces no consequences but she’s also allowed to heal and move forward, exemplifying what’s so beautiful about SPOP. Frankly I don’t think audiences deserved a ch like Catra, from some Discourse I’ve witnessed, but I also think SPOP teaches us that it’s not about what we deserve.
#oh how my top chs changed over time#well something never changes#anon#this was fun to think about thanks for reading my ramblings anon#every now and then it's good to be reminded that i like other chs and media too lol#ask game#random asks#i need like an umbrella media asks tag#top5/10 things

People I'd Like to Get to Know Better!
Last Song Listened to: Entrapta's theme! It feels like something that would appear in a level from one of the Trine games or Nine Parchments. It's really pretty :D Gonna listen to the rest of the soundtrack the next time I have a good chance to draw stuff!
((girl who only listens to video game osts: getting some real video games vibes from this /hj))
Favourite Colour: Pinks and blues, generally more on the lighter/more desaturated side! I don't pick a favourite between the two, but these days I generally tend to represent myself more with light blue.
Currently Watching: She-Ra and the Princesses of Power on Netflix!! Hence the last song I listened to dgshshf. It's a rewatch for me; I've been showing it to one of my friends! He's been enjoying it a lot, which has been really nice to see. And of course I'm enjoying rewatching the show too! It's not often that I get so attached to shows or movies. Entrapta my beloved <333 I adore her. My girlfriend
Last Movie/TV Show Watched: ...I mean. I just talked about the last TV show I watched dgsbfd. But as for movies? ...Oh. I am going to Embarrass Myself a little today huh asgshshfsb. Last year I rewatched my favourite show from my early childhood, Atomic Betty. So. I think the last movie I watched would've been the Christmas special movie from that. Which was in like November. I don't watch movies often dgshsf
Spicy/Savoury/Sweet?: Sweet!! Though every flavour has its place at certain times. ...Except spicy. I do Not handle spice well asgshdhf
Relationship Status: Single and NOT mingling at all lmao
Last Thing Googled: Just looked up the exam schedule for my university before I did this, since I just found out it was available. One of my exams is at 9am pain and misery </3
Current Obsession: Kinda just flipping back and forth between past obsessions at the moment! Undertale's been on my mind a lot, Deltarune too to a slightly lesser extent, Hollow Knight's still around, She-Ra because I just watched a couple episodes with my friend last night, occasionally some others... My Thoughts are bouncing between a lot of things and not settling on just one. Having a good time, though!

Can I pretty pretty ask for more cheesy, self-aware romantic comedies like Business Proposal. I've been into plotty dramas lately but sugar and cotton candy plots like that do so well for the soul.
Give us our fluff!
Fluffy and Trope-y Workplace Rom Coms
The Secret Life Of My Secretary: This drama is actually the closest I've seen to A Business Proposal. In fact at first I thought A busines Proposal was copying the plot lol. A CEO chaebol loses his ability to recognize faces and needs his secretary to help him navigate his new reality. The two mains are the most adorable dummies and the side characters are awesome! You’ll laugh a LOT at all of the dorks and I plan on rewatching this soon just to chill and enjoy.
Touch Your Heart: A sweet, silly and very mild rom com about a serious boss and his hallyu star secretary. This show was an obvious response to the chemistry that Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na had in Goblin so it was nice to see them together again. Yoo In Na is such a fun person to watch!
Her Private Life: Park Min Young really knows how to pick dramas. I loved this one about a museum curator who is secretly a fangirl obsessed with an idol. It’s fun and fluffy but does have a very mild childhood trauma thing with his mother but I mean, 99% of dramas like this do? If you like this one, Touch Your Heart and Why Secretary Kim are by the same person and have similar vibes.
Go Ho’s Starry Night: I’m not sure how much “work” is really getting done in this reverse harem style romcom about a girl who works in an advertising firm. Cute, short episodes but very trope-y and super inappropriate workplace antics. Who cares though, it’s super fun fluff nonsense!
Introverted Boss A rom com about a super introverted boss who at a PR company (who hides behind a friendly and charismatic figure head and friend) and a sassy go getting secretary who (of course) brings him out of his shell. There are a lot of workplace antics, including retreats! Is this the best show ever? Absolutely not. Is it cute though? Yes!
Shopping King Louie (Yes this is on almost every list I make) Ridiculously fun and lighthearted romp following a spoiled and useless chaebol with amnesia who is being taken care of by a country bumpkin in the city. Very low stakes, super adorable couple, and as many tropes as you can fit in your bag, this one is one of my favorites to recommend - plus they DO work together!
Jealousy Incarnate: I’m not sure if this is 100% a workplace drama but a large amount of it takes place at a television station. The leads chemistry was magical (the kiss!!) but there’s a better second lead (of course there is) and the bickering did drive me a little nuts. However, Gong Hyo Jin is always perfect in rom coms!
Into The Ring: This one is a little more plotty than you're asking for but I swear you will fall in LOVE with the leads! Seo Gong Myung is a hard nosed civil servant who ends up working with Goo Se Ra, one of my favorite ladies in a K-drama ever. She’s passionately ethical and into civil ordinance complaints (you read that right) which drives Gong Myung crazy, but like, in a “I’m definitely going to fall for you” type of way. This is a hilarious and heartfelt slice of life and I loved it.
Why Secretary Kim / What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim: I was prepared to hate this drama’s premise: Boss in love with secretary. YUCK. BUT they turned all of the tropes on their heads and this show was a joy to watch! There’s a bit of kdrama childhood trauma but overall it’s a very easy watch with great chemistry (some people even though it was boring because they get together and a bunch of episodes are just them happy together which I personally loved)
And of course A Business Proposal: A wealthy woman asks her friend to go on a blind date with a stern CEO in her stead. He basically falls for her and there are a lot of hijinks around the identity mixup. It’s very cute and the second couple is FIRE!!
Enjoy!

When the Dead Come Knocking || Jang Wujin
Part One
Part 2 part 3 part 4
Pairing: Wu-Jin X Reader
Genre: horror, gore, fluff
Warming: Death, violence, cursing, blood
Summary: Nam Chae-Young had an obsession with everything gore since she was a little girl, little did she know that one normal day at school would turn into the worst day of her life. Fighting to survive shouldn’t the that hard, right?
Nam Chae-Young, sister to On-Jo, always had an obsession with horror, zombies specifically. Chae-Young’s favourite’s were The Walking Dead and Train To Busan, although she didn’t appreciate how fast the zombies were in Train To Busan because she was so lazy.
“Ah, On-Jo, Cheong-San, slow down!” she huffs annoyed, the two were way ahead racing to school so they weren’t late. Cheong-San stuck out his tongue at her and ran across the road leaving On-Jo and Chae-Young behind. They were late again, but that didn’t matter, because Chae-Young would lie their way out of trouble anyways.
“You both are always late,” Mr. Jung scoffs, counting the other students behind them.
“We’re sorry, Sir. On-Jo lost her school bag, so we spent a long time looking for it,” Chae- Young lies. From the bags under her eyes, it was clear Chae-Young was up all night rewatching The Walking Dead, but he didn’t need to know that.
“Go on,” he beckons them forth.
“You’re so obvious when you lie,” On-Jo scowls, taking her hair out of a low ponytail and running after Su-Hyeok.
“Bye!” Chae called, pulling out her phone and scrolling through TikTok.
“Hello!” I-Sak throws an arm sound Chae- Young’s shoulder, frightening her. “Hello,” she smiles, locking her phone and entering the classroom.
“You’re dirty! Get off my desk!” Na- Yeon screams at Gyeongsu-Su. Chae-Young frowns and takes a seat in front of Dae-Su and Wu-Jin, beside Nam-Ra. How Na-Yeon treated Gyeongsu-Su irritated her a lot. He was a nice boy and she just hates him for no reason.
“Hey,” a piece of paper hit Chae in the back of the head. Huffing, she turns around to see Dae-Su,”Your new TikTok was a masterpiece. I mean, how you made that edit of Walking With The Dead,” Dae-Su smiles.
“It’s The Walking Dead, Dae-Su, and thank you,” she smiles. Dae-Su and her were great friends, they’d always pull pranks on Bare-Su and make him angry.
Mrs. Lee hurried into the class telling everyone to hand up their phones. Sighing, the students obliged. All apart from Dae-Su and Chae. Chae had two phones, like Dae-Su, but she used her old one for TikTok’s.
“Thank you,” Mrs. Lee smiles, watching each student closely.
Chae zoned out after that, keeping her head down and slowly drifting off, only to be woken by gasps. She tiredly lifts up her head to see what was going on. At the door Hyeon-Ju wobbles in and falls to the group with blood on her face. Mrs. Lee quickly runs to her and examines her,” What happened? Are you okay?” she gasps.
Hyeon-Ju seemed out of it, muttering about how the Science Teacher knocked her out and tied her up. Chae stood back with a puzzled look, she didn’t know what to think. Hyeon- Ju was one of the schools bullies too, so could Mr. Lee really be crazy enough to do that out of anger? Maybe.
“We should get her to the nurse,” On-Jo and I-Sak say together as Su-Hyeok agreed to carry her. And off they went. Chae-Young was surprised On-Jo offered to go as she was an Introvert and Chae-Young was an Extrovert.
“I’m sure you’re happy you finally decided to come in today,” Gyeong-Su nudges her. “Something interesting is finally happening. “He smiles.
“Apart from the fact that Mr.Lee is a crazy serial killer!” she slaps his back.
“Or he could’ve made her film porn!” Dae-Su speaks up, earning a slap off both Wu-Jin and Chae-Young.
•
Lunch time came around rather quickly and to Chae-Young’s disappointment, On-Jo had nothing of interest to share. Dae-Su, Min-Ji and Chae-Young decided to sit in the Courtyard and enjoy lunchtime there.
“Hey guys, today Dae-Su going to give a review on last weeks episode on The Walking Dead!” Chae says to her phone camera. Her and Dae- Su found joy in making videos to post to TikTok together. Sometimes he would film covers and she would film her opinions and small skits about The Walking Dead.
About a minute into the video, a scream came, causing the two to stop and Min-Ji to put down her chopsticks. Chae stopped filming and looked around in concern. From the schools entrance, students flooded out screaming in fear. The trio jumped up and ran toward the school.
On- Jo
Chae- Young’s concern for her sister grew more and more as she seen hundreds of students covered in blood. What was happening? A student bumped into her, sending her to fall. Her eyes spotted the pocket knife that fell from his pocket and she quickly picked it up.
“This way!” Dae-Su pulled her inside.
“Nabi! What’s going on?” Chae spots one of her friends ahead. The girl turned around and blood poured from her mouth and she charged at them. Chae dodges her and watched as she starts biting and tearing someone’s neck out.
“Holy fuck…. Zombies.” Chae gasped.
•
“Why are they faster like in The Walking Dead?!” she screams scared, she was filming for her TikTok as the zombies chased her in the back,” Someone send help!” The camera went blurry as they were sprayed with a fire hydrant.
Hey guys! I’ve no idea how to use Tumblr (writing wise), this is just an introduction type thing. Anywho, please be patient. Chae is a bit of a crackhead if you couldn’t tell 😂. I’m sorry if things are misspelled, I’m just experimenting atm, so lmk what you think.

Day 2 of Glimbow Week: Myths, Legends, and Fairy Tales. Little Bow and Glimmer are at a shadow puppet show where they’re telling all the myths, legends and Fairy Tales from Etheria. Comic and fiction below with more details.
@glimbowweek
Glimmer
Mum had taken me to the festival, but then she’d gotten distracted with some urgent business and had plonked me down in front of the Shadow Puppet show while she talked to one of her generals. She made sure she could still see me, but it wasn’t the same. I’d wanted to spend time together.
She’d been busier than ever since dad had… Well, he was gone now. She’d promised me today would be our day and that she’d cheer me up. It wasn’t fair.
It was a good puppet show: they were telling tales of all the Myths, Legends and Fairy Tales of Etheria, but no matter how good it was, I didn’t want to watch it alone.
The current story was about some ancient hero called She-Ra and she’d just ridden into the desert on a horse in search of a dragon to tame in order to fulfil her “sacred duty” or something.
I let my gaze wander around the crowd and spotted a boy trying to form the horse shadow using his own hands. He was doing it wrong; I’d seen them practicing before the show.
He looked about my own age and he looked friendly enough, even as he tried to concentrate. I spared mum a quick glance, but she was still talking. Maybe I didn’t have to watch the show alone?
Bow
That shadow kind of looked like a horse. It was definitely a horse but theirs had seemed a bit different. Maybe it was close enough?
“That’s not how they do the horse,” A voice chirped up.
I startled to see a girl with pink hair gazing up at me. She looked very young, or maybe she was just short. Still, I didn’t think she was old enough to be here alone.
“Like this,” She demonstrated a different position with her hands and I couldn’t deny it did look closer to what they had done.
I began moving my hands to copy her, but she got impatient and manhandled my hands into position.
“Like this?” I checked with her once she’d finished.
“That’s it!” she beamed happily.
“Thanks. I’m Bow by the way,” I introduced.
“Like an archer?” She asked, sounding interested.
“Yes?”
My cheeks turned crimson and I felt shamed at the lie.
I couldn’t exactly admit that I was named after the bows you tie. One of my sisters had decided to dress me up in bows like a baby doll before I had even been named and declared that I was the “bow baby”. After hearing it so often, my dads hadn’t been able to think of anything else, so I became Bow.
Glimmer
We talked through the whole show and I hadn’t paid attention to any of the stories after meeting Bow, but he had been really cool and I liked him a lot.
Unfortunately, I could see my mum was finishing up. Noticing I was looking, she mouthed “Who’s the boy?”
I just shrugged.
“I have to go soon,” I told Bow, feeling a sinking feeling in my chest.
I really liked him and I didn’t have any friends my own age. I didn’t have any friends period, except the guards and I wasn’t sure they counted.
“Oh. That’s a shame. I was going to have to go soon anyway: the shows nearly over,” He commented and he sounded sad too.
“Yeah…”
We lapsed into the first proper silence since we had met.
“Oh, you didn’t tell me your name,” Bow realised.
He was right, I hadn’t. Oops. Mum would be so disappointed in me forgetting my manners.
“I’m Princess Glimmer of Bright Moon.”
“Princess?” His eyes widened slightly and I suppose that was an impressive title to have.
Bow
She didn’t seem evil, but dad hated princesses. That was confusing. I really liked her, but if dad found out I’d been spending time with a princess I’d regret it.
“Princess Glimmer… Uh… Nice to meet you. I actually need to go right now,” I decided.
What if my brother, who was meant to be looking after me but had run into a friend he’d rather spend time with, saw and realised what she was? He’d definitely tell our dads. I couldn’t let that happen.
Her face fell, perhaps as sad as I was to miss out on those last few minutes we could have hung out.
“I’m coming for the second day of the festival, if you’re free. I missed the story about the Runestone of Plumeria so I want to rewatch it. You should come too, if you’re free,” I suggested.
I could make sure that one of my siblings who was less likely to snitch accompanied me. It’d be fine.
Glimmer’s face lit up, “Yeah I really like the fairy tales, so I’d watch them again.”

I believe in Byler / the DID theory, but I somewhat agree with fans who think it's currently too obscure. I just rewatched s2 and while, yes, it's undercut in s3, viewers are ABSOLUTELY encouraged to believe Mike loves El romantically. You can't blame viewers for buying what they've been sold, and being confused by an apparent 180 later on. Mike pushes Will to dance with random girl, and there are multiple instances of him pining for El in a way that seems more than survivor's guilt. 🐺
"“To be clear, I see a lot of Byler in s2 too. And I understand the show gets renewed season by season, and the Duffers have to create a piece of media that can stand alone, if they never get to tell their full story. As with season one. But if we're right about their planned endgame, they need to kick it up a notch and address some of the things that will confuse the audience (like Mike's sexuality) head on in dialogue. They need to start spelling this stuff out 🐺
The last thing anyone wants is for the reaction to such at bond re-established. 🐺 beautiful, important love story to be one of fan backlash. There will always be a certain amount of that but I truly believe it was fueled by a lot of the choices in s2. After Will's recovery Mike barely seems to look at him, for instance, while we get long, longing shots of him looking at El. It truly seems as if Will's special place in his heart evaporates the minute she walks back through that door. We need that bond re-established. 🐺
I don't mean to sound like a Debbie Downer, but I am a little afraid the Duffer's will sacrifice the story for the sake of the big shocking twist. S4 will tell a lot. If that season doesn't do major work in building up Byler, I just don't see how it won't all feel so eleventh hour in s5. I love picking over the show in detail on here, but the story DOES need to be cohesive to a general audience, and I understand why people worry it won't be, or the theory won't happen at all. 🐺" Well, this is quite the thing to wake up to on my long weekend. I suppose I might as well tackle it right away since you were nice enough to include little wolf emojis.
I've shared many of the doubts you have expressed here in the past. It's only been over time that my belief in Mike and Will's relationship has been strengthened. There's nothing wrong with being doubtful. Popular media has long marginalized gay characters and issues and caricatured them even when they were included. It's only normal to be a bit skeptical even when it seems like there's a story being built.
I was initially disappointed by season 3, but, with time and discussions with others, I came to see what the Duffers were going for. There was actually quite a lot in there that supported Mike and Will having feelings for each other, while also showing that Mike and El were both worse off while dating. Are we to believe that a bunch of 14 year olds really understand their feelings? No, especially when feelings involve being gay in the 80s or when your concept of a love and relationships comes from watching soap operas at 12/13 after growing up in isolation.
I suggest that you check out this post of mine if you haven't already, “Why do you lie?”: A look at a gay Mike Wheeler. It covers how Mike's existing portrayal can lead to a gay reveal without it being contradictory. There are reasons that Mike shows such intense concern for Will only to latch onto El once things calm down, at least in my conceptualization of it. In my opinion, Mike is confused and scared, so his mind is shifting his feelings onto a more socially appropriate target. If I had to pick, I'd probably say this was my best post. Feel free to holler back if you're still skeptical.
As for the Duffers sacrificing story for twists, I wouldn't worry. The Duffers have shown that they are highly skilled writers, so far. To me, it would be a bigger twist that they'd pull such a move. In this case, I think the "twist" is that fans are so used to conventional expectations (tropes) that they miss what is right in front of them. The Duffers have been subverting tropes since season 1. In fact, they seem to thrive on it.
I'll also mention that She-Ra didn't set sail with the ships until its final season, but the signs were always there. While I'd prefer we don't get a dramatic reveal in the grand finale like we did there, it's worth mentioning that once one saw that Adorra and Catra had feelings for each other, those earlier moments become more clear. I think many Stranger Things fans are going to be able to see those earlier signs after the fact, and, hopefully, it leads some to question heteronormativity.

Adora's Redemption Arc
I'm rewatching she-ra to help me calm down after a meltdown, and I've seen some recent posts that I think misunderstood Catra's arc and how it parallels to Adora's.
So, I'm going to outline Adora's redemption arc.
Let's be realistic; the Horde was a fascist empire, their crimes and cruelty were put on full display. Adora was on her way to becoming a Force Captain, as far as we can tell that's similar to being a General. The only ones we see higher than Force Captains are Shadow Weaver, second in command, and Hordak, their dictator.
Adora was yet to see active duty, but we so see cadets doing active duty, she was just still in training, but she excelled so much she was going to be promoted immeadetly. With no active duty. That is not a joke. As far as we can tell by passing comments and the schedules we see around, cadets do also do "housework". Repairing weapons, meal prep, cleaning. Everything a fascist empire needs to keep running.
And to put it plainly, Adora was prejudiced against princesses. I wont be that asshole to be like "It PaRrAlLeLs RaCiSm"; but it is a prejudice nonetheless, based on propaganda and lies, meant to instill hatred into the soldiers to fuel them to fight the war. And she does take out this prejudice on Glimmer in anger, saying "You think I WANTED to be a princess?! They're MONSTERS!!!" Speaking from my own experience as a gay person, I feel like that happens a lot with me. People hating me because they were duped by some lieing snake oil salesman. Adora is not innocent.
She helped a hateful fascist empire run effectively.
And let's not forget this
This parallel should not be lost on you, especially since Catra does later take Adora's as Force Captain.
If Bow and Glimmer had not found her, it would have been Adora in that tank. Following orders, still falling for Horde lies. "Sure, innocent people who kidnapped a Horde officer!" Would have been Adoras "Oh sure, innocent people who support the violent, chaotic rebellion!"
I feel like a lot of people let Adora's crimes slide because she's She Ra and she's "nice". But she messed up too, she had to prove herself to the Rebellion and earn her place. And she did, and she deserved it.
Adora also had lots of support, love and good advice from Madame Razz, Bow and Glimmer and occasionally Swift Wind.
Catra has Hordak threatening to suffocate her and sending her to die in the Crimson Waste, an abusive Shadow Weaver, a good friend in Scorpia, yes, but one that did not understand her and breached her boundaries many times ("Scorpa, remember that talk we had about personal space?") ((This is not a bashing of Scorpia or excusing Catras later unkindness towards her. I love Scorpia but shes also a war criminal and did also help the evil fascist empire. I'm so happy she got redeemed tho ❤❤❤❤)). Not to mention Lonnie isnt much of a friend. "Easy Catra, Adora's not here to protect you anymore."
All in all, Adora also had her own redemption arc, with it's own nuances, parallels and differences to Catras, and one that was well written and deserving of love. Adora deserved her redemption and the love she got in the end.

I finished RWBY Volume 5!!
Loved it!! After volume 4 was (understandably) a bit slower-paced, I didn’t expect things to get intense and serious this quickly, but I’m glad they did! I have so many thoughts I wanted to write down, so here we go:
[There will be spoilers for RWBY up to Volume 5 in this post (duh). Please don’t leave spoilers for anything after Volume 5 on this post, otherwise I will block you.]
- I have to say, I definitely liked Cinder more when she wasn’t talking. During Volume 4, I kind of started feeling bad for her on some level, but then she got better and started being her old condescending, power-hungry self and I was like… nevermind, I hate you again.
- Qrow being super drunk when he first brings Oscar home was absolutely hilarious.
- Yang is SO COOL. Have I mentioned that she’s so cool? Like wow, I wish I was that cool! The bike, the new (amazing) outfit, the way she just punched that creepy guy and walked right up to her mom’s bandit camp making demands of her – she’s so cool and I’m here for it.
- Yang and Weiss’ reunion was so sweet! 😭 I was waiting for literally any of Team RWBY’s members to reunite and that got me right in the feels! (Also, I loved the whole “Wait, your mom kidnapped me?” “Wait, you kidnapped her?” exchange - brilliant 😂.)
- Ruby’s reunion with Yang and Weiss was so sweet, too! 😭 Tears were definitely shed over reunions in this volume! And it was so nice to finally have most of Team RWBY and what’s left of Team JNPR back together and see them bond and catch up with each other 😭. Found family back together! It’s what they deserve!
- Yang being so angry at Blake for leaving makes perfect sense, imo, especially considering her own abandonment issues. And even more so considering that she lost that arm while protecting Blake. Also, I don’t think it’s reading too much into it to say that Yang and Blake’s interactions and their storyline together have had romantic undertones since volume 2. (And no, I’m not just saying that because I ship Bumbleby; it’s the other way around – I ship Bumbleby because those romantic undertones were there in the first place.) So yeah, Yang always tried to help and support Blake, lost an arm protecting her from her abusive ex, and then Blake just left – I get why Yang’s hurt and angry. And that moment where she goes from complaining about how she just wants to be there for Blake, before finally admitting “What if I needed her there for me?” - that’s a really good moment for Yang, even beyond the romantic subtext. It’s nice to see Yang admit that she also wants someone else to be there for her, that she wants to receive that same love and care in return.
- I also want to point out that it’s nice to see how far Weiss has come since volume one. She really took a level in kindness and became a lot more mature, to the point where she’s now giving Yang relationship advice. It’s really nice to see.
- Ruby’s talk with Oscar about Penny and Pyrrha really got me teary eyed.
- I wasn’t that fond of Sun at first, but he had some really great moments in this volume, so he’s starting to grow on me now. I still don’t ship him with Blake, but their friendship is sweet.
- And now, let’s talk about THE standout character of the whole volume for me: ILIA!! Holy hell, I love everything about her! You know how some characters grow on you over time, and then there are those characters that you see one episode with and they just become instant favourites? That second one was Ilia for me. I watched Blake’s character short before Volume 5 and the moment I heard her backstory she jumped right to the top of my favourite character list without question AND I started shipping her and Blake right away. (Yes, I love Bumbleby and all, but I’m a multishipper. I’m perfectly capable of equally loving two ships that contradict each other.)
- It’s just – Ilia and Blake’s dynamic got me hooked! Not to compare everything to my OTP (Catra and Adora from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power), but let me quickly make this comparison: Two girls who grew up together, were both members of a certain evil organization until one of them left it and the other didn’t, now they’re on opposing sides and have to fight each other, but they still clearly care about each other. Plus, there are confirmed romantic feelings from at least one side there. I know many people (including myself) have compared Bumbleby to Catradora before – because you’ve got one blonde jock and one catgirl – but when it comes to the dynamic and the backstory, Blake and Ilia (what’s that ship called? Catmeleon, I think?) resemble Catradora even more. And it’s just the kind of dynamic I’m weak for.
(Honestly, it’s kind of funny how predictable I am both when it comes to favourite characters and favourite ships. My sister, who got me into both She-Ra and RWBY, took one look at Catra years ago and immediately predicted that I would love her. And when she first saw Ilia, she also immediately knew she’d be one of my favourites. Basically, my sister once described my “type” of favourite characters as “troubled, cute and gay” and that pretty much sums it up.)
- Speaking of troubled, cute, and gay: I’m glad RWBY finally has some CANON LGBT representation! Hell yes for that! Honestly, I interpreted Ilia’s feelings for Blake as romantic right away, but I wondered if it was just bait or my usual tendency to see romantic undertones in any interaction between two girls. But then that “I wanted you to look at me that way” line happened and… WOW. Yes. Amazing, talented, brilliant, never been done before, showstopping, incredible. I’m 100% sold on both the ship and Ilia as a character.
(One more thing before I change topics: I try to keep these posts positive and not get into discourse too much (since I’ve heard there was (is?) a lot of discourse in the RWBY fandom – but I took just one look into the tag for Volume 5 and immediately saw people arguing that Ilia’s not good representation because she’s a villain. And I just want to quickly address why that’s nonsense, in my opinion (and before you ask, yes I am a lesbian myself): First of all, she’s not even a full-blown villain. She’s clearly shown as confused and misguided from the beginning. And her feelings for Blake are never portrayed as a negative thing. She also has a redemption literally two episodes after being revealed to be queer. And in general, I don’t think queer villains are necessarily a bad thing and I’m tired of queer characters not being allowed to be flawed. How come straight characters get to just exist, but any queer character better be a shining beacon of morality or else they’re bad representation? I agree that RWBY should introduce more queer characters to balance things out a bit, but I wouldn’t say Ilia was bad representation by herself, since she’s a character I think we’re meant to have sympathy for.
- Now I just hope that future volumes of RWBY don’t pull a Bury Your Gays and kill Ilia off... I’d really hate that. (No spoilers on this post, please!)
- The entire fight at the Belladonnas’ house had me so on edge the whole time. I thought someone (most likely one or both of Blake’s parents) was going to die any second. Basically, the ending of volume 3 burned me and now I constantly expect characters to die. I’m glad it all (mostly) turned out well!
- Blake’s speech to the Faunus might have made me a bit emotional. That was a really great moment for her.
- And then there were those final episodes… WOW. Like I said, I really didn’t expect everything to go down so quickly (or for the ending to be that happy – like I said, volume 3 burned me.)
- Jaune unlocking his semblance was nice! And I’m proud of myself for having correctly predicted that he’d have some sort of healing powers. (I was waiting for him to unlock some healing semblance back when Qrow got injured in Volume 4 – I’m glad it finally happened!)
- I was worried about Weiss for a second, then I realized there’s no way she can die since I’ve already seen pictures of her outfit in later volumes. (Plus, I’m pretty sure if a main character had died, I’d have been unable to completely avoid spoilers about it. So those 4 are pretty much the only ones I’m not that worried about.)
- Raven is a really cool and interesting character, but an awful person. (I got so angry at her when she blasted Ruby after Ruby was just so nice to her*. How dare you, lady?) I love her design, though!
[*EDIT: I just rewatched it and realized that it was Cinder who blasted Ruby, Raven just created the portal. Point still stands, tough.]
- The plot twist of who the Spring Maiden really is was EPIC. Really loved that reveal! (And I honestly didn’t see it coming.) Though I have to say, I feel really bad for Vernal, and for the previous Spring Maiden.
- The Cinder VS Raven fight was absolutely epic and just stunning to watch visually. I was wondering if we’d ever get a maiden vs maiden battle, and that scene more than delivered! And while I don’t particularly like either of them, I was definitely rooting for Raven in that fight.
- I’m not sure if Cinder really died there. If so, I’m honestly not too sad about it, but I would be disappointed because I kind of expected her to become a more interesting character later on. After Volume 4, I expected at least a bit of growth there or something that would make her more interesting. And I’m not talking about a redemption, just to be clear! I just think the potential to make her more interesting as a villain was there, and if they just killed her off it’s kind of wasted now and she stayed a very flat character until the end. But I guess we’ll see.
- Raven and Yang’s confrontation was pretty intense. I liked that Raven finally had to admit that she’s afraid and doing all of this just to protect herself, and the contrast to Yang, who is also scared but still does what she thinks is right. And the fact that Raven was willing to let Yang have the relic despite the danger that would put her in – mom of the year indeed 🙄.
- Blake and the other Faunus are the real MVPs of the battle, tbh. The fact that they just completely stopped Adam and the White Fang by sheer numbers and didn’t even give them the chance to attack anyone? God tier stuff. And when Blake’s mom came in with the police? 10/10, we stan.
- Also, Blake telling Adam she’s not there for him? Hell yes, girl! I love how she’s taking power away from her abuser by showing she isn’t doing any of this for him. Really nice.
- Yang and Blake’s reunion in the last episode was super nice. I like how there was so much attention on that reunion in particular. And while I’m glad Yang wasn’t too angry at Blake and it makes for a nice happy ending, I still hope there’s a scene next volume where Blake properly apologizes to Yang for leaving and explains her side of things. And then, they should get together and live happily ever after and have lots of kittens. I mean, what?
- And finally, all of Team RWBY is back together! And they’ll have a lot to catch each other up on. Blake doesn’t even know about the maidens, the relics and Salem yet, while the rest didn’t even know about the White Fang attack. Also, I want Blake to introduce the others to Ilia and to her parents.
I really loved this volume. Lots of action, lots of really sweet moments, lots of epic fights and cool plot twists. I find it hard to rank them, but this might have been my favourite volume yet (volume 3 was also really good, though).

top 5 ships of all times? and if you don't want to answer that because sometimes it's hard when it's not a specific fandom, top 5 violetta boys please!!
I'm gonna answer to both because I have nothing but time here 😅
Top 5 ships of all times
This one is a little though - not because I can't think of any, but because it's hard for me to choose between them and put them in order - so I'm just gonna go with what I'm feeling right now, but keep in mind that if I had to write this again tomorrow the order would probably be different
5 - Catradora
She-ra mention on main, I know, I know. But yeah, even if I'm not as into this show and this ship as I was back when it was still airing, these two still hold a very special place in my heart. They're funny, they're sweet, they're complex, they're angsty, and they just have pretty much every dynamic I like in a ship. Also, I'll never forget the feeling of watching She-ra for the first time and thinking "this looks kinda gay" and then it actually was gay and canon and they kissed and-
Maybe that's just because most of the shows I watch don't have a lot of representation, but still, it was very nice to see. These two were the epic sapphic romance I was craving at the time and I'll always cherish them.
4 - Ludmi/Naty/Cami
My favorite chaotic girlfriends ❤
Finding this ship was for sure the best part of my Violetta rewatch last year, and I'd be lying if I didn't say that they are a big part of why I love this show as much as I do today. I've already made quite a few posts listing off things that I love about them, so I'll just keep this short and say that they own my heart. They're three top notch ship dynamics condensed into one and the result is something even better. Not something you see every day.
3 - Simbar
A straight ship? In my top 5? It's more likely than you think.
But in all seriousness, I am in love with these two. Their bond is absolutely beautiful and it's all so natural and well developed and just so amazing to watch. I love the way they complement each other and how both of them brought the other one exactly what they needed in their life. To me, this ship is pretty much the embodiment of people being loved in the exact way that they need to be loved and becoming the best versions of themselves for it, and it's the type of thing that gets me craving love too, which is so rare that I don't even know how they did it (a theme for these top 3, really). They mean everything to me ❤
2 - Damie
Something that you might not have noticed from my blog is that I'm a huge sucker for good horrors and thrillers. This is more of a children's media oriented blog so that's why, but when it comes to adult media, these are really my favorites. So you can imagine how amazing it was for me to go watch Bly Manor after the absolute banger that was Hill House, and end up finding not only an even better banger, but one that has one of the sweetest most beautiful ships I've ever seen in my life. These two are everything, and no joke they got me believing in love again. Plus, they also get me actually craving emotional intimacy, which like I said before is rare as hell. And the lack of a happy ending, tied with message that "even if it ends painfully, love is still worth it" resonated so much with me, and it made this ship even more meaningful in my eyes. Now I'm already regretting not placing them first on this list, but oh well, I told you I'd have a hard time ranking these.
1 - Liana/Alexa
Now here's a ship that I have history with. It was not only my first ever sapphic ship (and the ship in this list that's been in my life the longest), but also one of the pieces that made me realise that I'm sapphic myself. I've had so many feelings about them since I was a kid, and they're the type of ship that only gets better the more you think about it - like, I'm always realising new things about their relationship that make me love them more. But to me the core of what makes them so great is just how devoted they are to each other, how both of them know and admit with no fear that they're the best parts of each other's lives. They're perfect, really, and I have so many analysis posts about their relationship just sitting inside my brain waiting to be written. And I will say that this is the only ship in this list that gets me craving proper romance. Like, the last two get me craving love, sure, but it doesn't necessarily have to be romantic love (though I wouldn't be complaining if I got that). But every time I watch this movie, I spend the whole time thinking "where is my girlfriend and our demon dogs and our cottage in a flower field 🥺?"
These two really own me and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.
Top 5 Violetta boys
Just a note, since you asked for boys I'm only counting the teenage characters, but if you had asked for just men in general Gregorio and Beto would for sure be here.
5 - Marco
He's just a very sweet boy, ok? He's caring and wholesome and only ever tries to do the right thing. He did lose some points with me with how he behaved in late s2 - overwhelming Fran with flowers was crossing some boundaries, I think - but it's the type of well meaning mistake that I can forgive pretty easily. Just yeah, very good boy, deserved better, should have been a proper part of s3.
4 - Diego
Moving on to Marco's boyfriend, Diego. I think most of the fandom agrees that he's like, an universal guilty pleasure character. Objectively he's a feral racoon of a man roaming through the garbage bin outside, but he's charismatic and funny and interesting, so we all decided to bring him inside and adopt him, and I'm glad we did. He made the show a lot better and I really enjoy most of his plotlines.
3 - León
And now we've reached Diego's boyfriend, León. Honestly, I didn't care that much about him when I first watched the show (which probably had something to do with the army of sixth graders demanding that I had a crush on either him or Tomás), but on my rewatch, he really won me over. He's very chaotic and fun, but also surprisingly mature in a way that always impresses me. He hits a nice balance between wild and down to earth, and I overall really like him as a character.
2 - Maxi
Very good very nice boy. He's just a very wholesome and chill guy, and I like how he's pretty much friends with everyone because of how open and kind he is. I wish he got developed more, but overall he's a joy to have onscreen. He's the voice of reason of the group, he's friendly and playful, and yeah, just a very nice endearing guy. Deserves the best.
1 - Federico
He's a chaotic diva man and also funny as hell, so what else could I ask for? Also, I really love the impact that he has on the show whenever he shows up. Like, for some reason, every season only feels like it's reaching its full potential once he gets there. He adds such a breath of fresh air to the group and really improves every dynamic that he's a part of - the studio kids, the boyband, Violetta's family, etc. He's just so fun that it's contagious, you know? Whenever he arrives, everyone around him gets more fun too, and I love him for it.
Thank you so much for your asks! I had a really good time answering these 😁

oh god oh god
HEY GUESS WHAT I'm down to the last two episodes of She-Ra in my rewatch
On a related note, should you desire to read them all starting from s1ep1 for some godforsaken reason, here's the link. Please be amused at my claims that I would not do this for every episode and my repeated attempts to cut back on how much I copy/paste dialogue and/or explain the entire plot instead of just making jokes and commentary
If, somehow, you are New Here, I've been rewatching all of the 2018 She-Ra, ostensibly for fic-writing reasons as I had forgotten huge quantities of the plot. I have since become deeply obsessed, as one does.
I make a lot of adult jokes, random asides, references to other things, commentary, and a lot of cursing and crying. I love Catradora and I love Catra especially and have a tendency to add a screenshot every time they so much as look at each other. It seems silly to warn for spoilers at this point, but yeah, this is a RE-watch. It's just that I forgot a lot of it because I watched it the first time as it was coming out (pun intended). The shit I did remember is so fucking random tho lol
The last time I tried to do a two-parter in one post the number of times I had to reblog it because tumblr only allows 30 images per post got real stupid, so while I do still assume I will have to reblog multiple times per episode, I'm doing each episode separately.
HERE WE GOOOOO
s5 ep12 Heart (pt 1)
jfc i'm full of adrenaline lol
Also I have a beer, it's a citrus IPA because I live in Portland and it's required by law
(not really I just genuinely like them. that and IPA's that taste like gnawing on a douglas fir. also fruit sours.)
LOL I was so anxious I looked away from this post and consumed most of my beer this is gonna be hilarious
ALSO my goal is to finish these two episodes before the Easter Vigil service tomorrow night at 8pm
Theoretically I should be able to watch two episodes of TV in a day and a half, right? AHAHA
Bow should play Wonderwall
she always looks so soft with her hair down
but also having that thing just floating in front of your chest like that has gotta feel weird
ON A RELATED NOTE I know I made the joke in the last episode about how many people have the failsafe as a tattoo but the PROBLEM is that now I literally LIVE with a tattoo artist whose work I like--I already have two tattoos they've done, here and here, and the temptation is extremely high?? but I don't have any other obvious fandom-related tattoos (unless you count the title of a Björk song) so it feels weird to start with this one???? Like I don't have any LoTR or BBC Sherlock or SU or K/DA tattoos (to list off a bunch of fandoms I was devastatingly obsessed with at the time) so getting one for THIS fandom feels kinda weird. But like, also, if I got it kinda small on one wrist it would look kinda cool and be a nice loud DID U KNOW I'M GAY kinda thing. Gyahhh.
She's struggling to do She-Ra, and I'm sitting here YELLING because IT'S BECAUSE CATRA LEFT and UGH I want to murder Shadow Weaver
(eyyyy I won't have to, ha ha oh god)
Oh she manages to transform anyway. Without making any noise or glowing lights, just pop, She-Ra
awwww but also lol
related aside but like, every culture that figured out bows and arrows invented at least one kind of string instrument. Literally archers just fidgeting with their bows and going "oh this makes a nice sound, what if I put more strings on this thing." So many different places and cultures invented things like a guitar or like a harp or like a violin. But also I want to know who the FUCK figured out the hurdy-gurdy??? oh my god I just looked up the hurdy-gurdy and I'm cracking up because one of the earliest depictions of it is from the 1100's, in the Santiago de Compostela cathedral. A place I have been. Because I did the Camino last year.
oh right plot
I would like to take a moment and be grateful for the people who put together the transcripts on the fandom wiki for saving me typing up long bits of lore-heavy dialogue
She-Ra: "Prime is getting closer every day to figuring out how to access the Heart of Etheria. If he succeeds, he can use it to destroy worlds, galaxies, maybe even the entire universe. The Failsafe is our only chance at stopping him."
"His hold over them grows stronger every day they're chipped. If we don't free them now, we might lose them forever. Prime holds every advantage in this fight. He'll be ready for us. But we have a plan. Entrapta?" Entrapta: "I finally succeeded in cracking Prime's signal pattern. If I get access to his Spire network, I can use it to broadcast a jamming frequency that will disable all of the chips on Etheria, freeing everyone at once!" She-Ra: I need you all to get Entrapta to the Spire and keep Prime's forces distracted while she jams the signal."
"We're going to make sure that Prime can never hurt anyone ever again. We're ending this today. For good."
oh lord so Shadow Weaver is still there, sulking and looking away, and she looks over at her and starts almost losing She-Ra and being Adora again
have I mentioned how much I hate Shadow Weaver >:(
Adora goes outside...and looks around. I know who she's looking for. *sobs into a pillow*
NO. she's LOOKING for her GIRLFRIEND
I made that joke and then Glimmer literally says "Any sign of Catra?" I have to remember that at this point in the story literally everyone knows how in love they both are. Except them. Of course.
Adora: "She's not coming back." ;_;
Adora: I mean you don't have to come with me this could be dangerous Bow: the fuck are you talking about of course we're going
And she turns into She-Ra again, roll intro
Okay so they go to the Crystal Castle thing where Light Hope was
it doesn't look so good
but also that's creepy
anyway they tell the hologram (not Light Hope, the other one) that they're looking for the Heart of Etheria and that they're Friends of Mara. She-Ra gets scanned and then a door opens into a passageway. Bow and Glimmer take her hands and they walk into the hall but:
she's still looking for someone
I have to deal with another episode and change of her looking for Catra ghghggh this hurts meeeee
OH SO OF COURSE they literally switch to showing us Catra
bahaha okay so she sits up and looks behind her kind of sadly, and Melog just skids to a stop so hard they throw Catra off
And Melog looks at Catra like she's fucking nuts. Catra's like, wtf is wrong with you??? and Melog looks back like BITCH WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU??? Catra what did you think was going to happen when you got a therapy animal that can literally read your moods. Melog knows you're being a dumbass and has NO reason to pretend to believe your surface "I don't give a shit" act!!
Melog does airplane ears at that. And then just pounces Catra.
Time for pressure! Just like a real therapy animal. Big weighted blanket!
oh shit I forgot about this bit
Catra just immediately starts crying.
Catra: "You saw what happened! Adora chose Shadow Weaver, okay? Not me!"
*sobs into hands* you useless fucking dumbass that is your abysmally low self-esteem talking literally every living semi-sentient thing in the galaxy knows Adora's in love with you EXCEPT YOU
I can get frustrated with AU fics where these two both pull this "but what if she doesn't like me back" thing for ages while everyone around them is face-palming in frustration, but like. You have to admit. It's accurate to canon.
(It's also accurate to lesbians in general, lbh. Either fucking on the first date or doing the "but what if she's not into me" thing for months-to-years. Sometimes both, including in some of the fics I've written, heyooooo.)
Melog purrs and licks her face. A clone approaches and they both go invisible and then follow it.
MEANWHILE
the rest of the rebellion is attacking Horde Prime's ship thing
Wrong Hordak helps Entrapta get into the spire. The whole point of this fight (which I didn't bother screenshotting lol) is to give Entrapta time to disconnect everyone's chips from Horde Prime.
Lol once inside Entrapta does another one of those "holy shit this stuff looks so cool...OMG FOCUS" things
Back at the Crystal Castle Glimmers like "omg are you scared" and She-Ra says "No, I just hope this works." Liar.
Bow: "It'll be okay. And when we get back, it'll be a whole new world."
this poor girl. she's so heartbroken.
(meanwhile the plot of my fic-in-progress is literally them breaking up. (not forever.) but it's hilarious of me to get SO UPSET over this scene when I'm going to force them to repeat it. like it's a mutual decision in my fic but it doesn't make it hurt any less.)
PFFT I unpaused it, and IMMEDIATELY:
I just said OH SHIT out loud lol
oh god I saw someone talking about this in a youtube video right around when I started my rewatch
It's a hologram, she's not actually there. And Catra goes through multiple other ages, including her kid self, being chipped on Horde Prime's ship, when they were Horde cadets, etc; before going back to looking like she does now.
Adora's sharp little gasp of shock here
Adora goes to touch Catra's hand and the hologram disappears
(good lord she's beautiful here)
And I think I agree with the youtube video: Adora knew she was upset about Catra running off, but this is the moment she specifically realizes she's in love, and it breaks her heart into tiny pieces.
(Hah, I actually say a very similar thing in part of my fic that they mention in the video--that previous to this, she refused to let herself want this or even think about it. "I didn't even realize this was something I could want.")
BUT ALSO so like is this a remnant of Light Hope's programming that tortured them with childhood flashbacks in season one (in order to drive them apart) or what
LOL NO
I know I made this joke before but I'm suing Nate for emotional damages
She-Ra: "We need to be careful. It looks like this place can still project memories."
oof
A still-invisible Catra follows the clone to where Horde Prime's ship is and is visibly terrified and shaking. A clone who might be Hordak turns around with that white in his eyes that means Prime is using him to see, and Catra just tries to be quiet and not move but she's obviously triggered, and I mean that in the literal PTSD sense.
Horde Prime (via Hordak?): "My brothers. The time has come at last. No longer shall She-Ra stand in my way."
oh okay so Horde Prime's actual ship is still in space (just orbiting Etheria I assume) and the planet-side thing is him speaking through one of the clones via the hive mind.
"Begin the acquisition process!"
are they just gonna straight-up drill into it?
apparently yes
the whole area lights up with that sickening green light, including all the lines that characters kept noticing on the ground that looked like some combo of circuit boards and First Ones' writing.
meanwhile, Adora keeps slipping out of being She-Ra for split seconds and is clearly stressing The Fuck Out and possibly walking in the wrong direction in her distress, only to walk into another memory/hologram.
And I've predictably hit the image limit, but 13:30 to go which is better than last night pfft okay gonna reblog

1.13 | The Battle of Bright Moon
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018)
🌸🌸🌸
Not a lot going on in this one!
It was mostly a fight scene. The action was nicely made, but not that engaging for me. The Catradora fight was definitely fun. I think the battle might have had more tension for me if there was a clearer sense of the stakes if the Horde had won!
I think we mostly took a pause on developing the characters and relationships, or put a cap on arcs that had already been seen through. The emotional crux of this was the princesses coming back, a plotline that felt already perfunctory. I laughed when Princess Frosta gave the vaguest, most noncommittal cheer of "Yeah! We did stuff together!"
One of my favorite parts was the sequence of utter whimsy where Entrapta is just rolling around on her chair with her ponytails spinning wildly. Ride that bronco, girl!
It was a surprise to hear Scorpia making vaguely mean quips to her enemies! It was honestly less scary than when she would just say sunny things while enacting violence.
One line that really stuck with me emotionally was when Angella just says "Thank you," and Adora tears up. More than anything else this episode, that immediately called to mind Adora's constantly shown anxiety over doing well and being wanted, and felt really touching.
I also laughed when Catra got straight up launched offscreen by the gay agenda rainbow wave. Like a comic strip flip-take.
I noticed that when the princesses assembled, Adora said "For Etheria!" It feels like an interesting parallel to "For the honor of Grayskull!", a name that means nothing to her. It could really go with the theme of her rejecting Light Hope's hero plan and fighting for what's right in front of her. But I don't think it ever becomes more explicit.
I think it's funny that Catra, despite everything about her, achieved 100% of her exceptional success so far thanks to her canny social skills in recruiting Entrapta.
So that was Season 1! I'm happy that I had such a range of ratings for these episodes. That shows it's an interesting series to review!
I think this is a show about playing warrior princess with dolls, and a show about the long-term effects of intimate relationship trauma and abuse, and I think those things can go together really brilliantly.
I also think it's pretty messy and hit-or-miss. I think the writers might not always be on the same page about what they're going for.
I think it's a pretty special piece of work and I'm really enjoying rewatching and writing about it. I hope anyone who comes across my lil posts enjoys reading them.
Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about Catra-watch! But altogether, I can't think of anything she did wrong this episode. I'm glad she finally had a crime-free day before we wrap up the season. Maybe she can turn this thing around!
Good luck, wildcat.
Catra's Crimes: 17
Next time: Sword, to lasso!!
