just because I'm curious, what are your favorites of the fics you've written?

I love this question!

Kind of all of them, because if a story actually escapes drafts, I'm definitely having a ton of fun putting it together, but I will categorize!

I'm forever proud of the character progression in Daylight- I think I really hit a stride in voice there? I'd recut it a little now, (if I could remotely stand writing Nessian), but the emotional punch of Cassian in that? yes.

Tidal is my favorite AU, hands down.

Course Correct is doing all this stuff with the modern setting that I'm really into, I think my framing/tone there is SO FUN. The California summer and the smokey sky! Elain pressing the dumb applique covered water bottle to her forehead! Rhysand having a white nightmare all marble mommie issues mansion!

Ultimately though, I think my best stuff is actually the Star Wars fics? The two oneshots in conversation (most people just read the first) A White Field, a Fresh Start and a Forest, Firelit. Contretemps is maybe the most giddily I've written anything in years. Sort of less accessible because it relies on both a vague canon knowledge and a willingness to throw all of that away, but Red and Gold, These Ways of Old has all the in-universe bullshit you could want while also being a romcom, an amnesia story, a secret marriage story, a kid fic AND I think only one speaking character is straight in the whole thing. (Baby Bly).

Honorable mention: Migration Patterns of Turdidae is just me kicking stuff around for fun? like, half the plot was writting on post its. its terrible and perfect. I love it, @skychild29 pulling me into the brainrot had CONSEQUENCES, and I'm not sure its readable to anyone else.

Okay but since it’s October and because I’m still obsessed with Baby Nessian, how about Nesta and Cassian modern au dressing up their baby as a bat for Halloween. Except it’s literally the beginning of October. They buy the costume like September 30th and by October 1st, the baby is in a bat costume.

I saw from a long time ago that you were considering writing a Nessian baby fanfic. Is this still possible or have you written it yet?

So my brain is chaos so this could be one of two fics?

I have Bottled Up Storms which is a nessian pregnancy fic (very not canon post acosf). I have started this fic and you can find it on my ao3 and masterlist (I would link it but I'm on the bus rn lmao). That is pinned to my profile though. Once I've finished writing chapter 5 of don't look (my modern au nessian fic), I'm gonna write the next chapter of BUS because it has been a while since I updated (oops).

Then there was a fic I've started writing that is post acosf where Nesta gets turned into a 6 year old and has no memories of anything that happened to her as an adult. This fic is one that I've started writing but I'm gonna hold off on posting until more people have come back from reading acosf (so maybe April).

Hello! I am your ACOTAR exchange secret Yuletide Santa and wanted to get some insight into what kind of gift you’d most appreciate!

Do you like in canon-universe fics or modern/contemporary AUs better? Or something totally new set in an alternative universe? And do you have a favourite (or least favourite, so I can avoid it hahaha) trope you’d like to see?

Oh man, I don't even know how to answer these. As a blanket statement, I think I'll enjoy whatever you create that feels natural (does that make sense?). Like, one time I had a Secret Santa fic where I was like "oh, it would be cool to have this minor side character feature". And it could have been bad but it was woven through well and didn't feel forced.

Sorry, I made it complicated. Point is. I think when you create, your love and passion come through in that creation, and I'd rather have a result of that love than you slapping something together that you think I might like but you aren't sure how to write.

I also don't know if that makes sense. Anyway.

I think, at the moment, I prefer in-universe fics. But uh. Not ACOSF. I'm so sorry. It's not the Nessian, it's Nyx. I know, I know, he's a baby, but I just could not with the whole pregnancy storyline. (and if you read my fics you can tell lol). I'm attached to my OC kids.

That's not to say I wouldn't like a modern AU, or any AU! I tend to be wary of them, because I think it takes real skill to pull off. The characters and concepts don't translate as easy to modern AUs in this fandom, me thinks.

Can't think of favorite/least favorite tropes at the moment. I am a fan of political AUs, or just mentioning politics and world building and relations with other kingdoms/Courts (again. very On Brand for me).

Umm....I usually don't like pure fluff? I like some conflict, even if it's minor. Something to propel the story. If you write an angsty fic, just a real tragedy, I'll be happy too, haha.

First of all....thank you so much to everyone who has entered. So many amazing entries have graced my ask box, and I had such a hard time choosing. I chose based on what I instantly felt like I could create a steady, “meaty” story around. As for the ones that were not chosen, I would like to keep them in my ask box for when I do have an idea for the prompt! My goal is to eventually fulfill them all, whether through a multi-chapter, or oneshot.

As for this specific contest, here are the winners:

In third place, sent by @bookishempire, is:  Evalin and Rhoe's love story in Terrassen, being pregnant with Aelin, and Aelin's childhood in the palace with Aedion filled of cute heart warming stories about them as kids. I will be making a three part series about this beauty, TOG prompt! 

In second place, sent by @highladyfxyre​, who totally is in sync with me and my 80s movie obsession,  Okay I was thinking a nessian dirty dancing au, where Nesta is baby ( 100% will not take shit from anyone but still sweet) and Cassian would be johnny (handsome, sweet, yet people think he's worthless bc of his history with women and his background) and Mor would be Penny (has been through a lot in life and has come out stronger) bc her and Cassian as dancing partners but not together is great! I LOVE 80s films and your breakfast club fic was amazing!!!. This will also be a three part series (wink, wink)!

In first place, I have combined multiple prompts to make the ultimate fic, with the help and guidance of @throne-of-ashes-and-beauty......

So, drumroll.....

Two of them were sent by @queen-archeron:  for the contest, maybe a feysand au where rhys loses a bet or something and has to take an art class, and ends up in the same class as feyre and he has like 0 painting skills so for a project they have to work together and feyre helps him and ya know they get closer ;)) and  a Nessian AU where Nesta is a nurse or something, and Cassian comes in one day and she takes care of him, and when he leaves he can’t stop thinking about her and then he starts faking sick all the time just to see her and she doesn’t admit it but she likes seeing him, and idk maybe they hang out outside of the doctors and get closer?

The final part when sent by Anon:  Hey! I was wondering if you could maybe write another multi chapter feysand fanfic? I absolutely love your writing and I love anything to do with feysand! I would really like to see a modern au that starts with feyre still dating Tamlin, I would really like to see the abuse, both mental and physical (im honestly surprised that he didn't escalate to anything super physical in ACOMAF and ACOWAR) I know there was the scene where he threw the table at her, but he never hits her with his own fist  I would also like to see Rhys meeting her and trying to help her get away, but Tamlin doesn't like him which kinda makes things worse for Feyre, but in the end it turns out good! Overall I'd just love to see a modern au for them and please don't feel obligated to write this for me, I just thought I'd asks and see if you were up to it or not! Anyway, sorry that was so long and I hope you had a great day!!

I will also be adding Azriel, Elain, and Lucien to this fic. I have already begun outlining, and I must say, I am excited to share this with you! I plan to hit real life issues, and take it to the next level both emotionally, and physically (ayo).

And, as I’ve said, I will keep all other prompts in my ask box and look over them regularly. When I get an idea to fulfill them properly, I will!
