The Warrior of Light turns to leave off into the sunset for an unknowably long journey to unite the star and save the world, again.

Aymeric panics. He grabs the Enguerran's hand at the last minute.

“Write me,” he blurts.

Enguerran tilts his head. “Uh,” he says awkwardly. “Okay?”

Aymeric frets incessantly for an entire day. Had he misinterpreting things? He hadn’t. He can’t have. They’d had dinner. Acquaintances have dinner all the time. Enguerran had arrived in transparent ribbed leggings with a slim-cut coat that had a socially indecent number of buttons undone up top. The Warrior of Light was an Ul’dah trained weaver who once, or so it was said, publicly and frequently wore grape-purple subligar out on the open streets. Aymeric had never said what he’d thought’d they were, but, well, they’d kissed, hadn’t they? Held hands? He blushes. He’d wanted more than that. He'd thought Enguerran had wanted more than that. Was he wrong? He shouldn't have asked. Three moons ‘till their ship is due in the East, and it’s a long time to wait, but he’ll write back and send it on the very next ship, he will, he’ll fix it, he’ll say-

His private linkpearl chimes. Enguerran is on the other end, with the sound of sailors singing and lines snapping and waves spraying.

Ah, Aymeric thinks.

He puts it out of his mind. He forces it out of his mind. He doesn’t think about it any further, until the first letter from Kugane arrives moons later, dated to the very day Enguerran left Ishgard, and it reads:

Aymeric slowly and carefully deposits his head on his writing table.

He’ll live – there’s an entire, thick, perfumed letter from the Warrior of Light on his desk to entice him, after all -

Yeah!! I totally get where you're coming from!! She's not exactly dumb, it's actually quite the opposite. I'd like to hc her as a girl who managed to get into a very good university and is studying astrophysics simply because she liked watching stars as a child. She's not dumb— just a girl who grew up extremely sheltered and hasn't seen the world through the eyes of someone who has had a difficult life, like Simon.

There's certain naivety that while it can be dangerous, she's been learning more and more about with Simon's help about stranger danger and trusting her instinct, but the girl is always surrounded by people who enjoy seeing her thrive and always teach her the things that her parents didn't.

I'd say in general she has a very good life, and now paired with Simon, someone whose entire soul wants to see her thrive?? She gets to turn off her brain and simply let him take control— he sometimes picks her clothes for her, dressing her up to the best of his capacity even when he's not a fashion guy.

This man has studied all her Instagram pictures because she's mesmerizing and he loves her that much, yet it also gives him the chance to more or less know what combinations she likes to wear. He still remembers the time she looked at him like he grew a second head for trying to make her wear dots and lines— but he never made that same mistake again.

They work surprisingly well together despite basically being on complete opposite sides of a spectrum, and at the end of the day, they work this well because they're both equally in love with the other.

Simon is level-headed and that gives her the chance to simply be herself without worrying about anything, he gives her a sense of security that she's never gotten with anyone else, while bimbo!reader gives Simon the love and affection he never even dared to think about. The main thing is that she looks and treats him like he's worth something how good of a soldier he is. Hell, she doesn't even know he's a soldier, she simply found the most brooding and intimidating guy and fell in love with him before she even knew it.

They both spoil each other a lot. Simon buys her things, treats her with patience and love, and generally treats her like the princess that she is, while she takes care of Simon like no other. She does face masks with him, gives him massages, does his manicure (trimming and cleaning his nails, putting lotion on his calloused hands), and is overall as patient as they come.

They're a pretty wholesome pair and quite honestly I enjoy writing about them a lot, the love they have for each other is fully pure and it makes me happy. :')

HI, LET'S TALK ABOUT ART THEFT

Hello, my name is Luna; I have gone by Luna for ages and have been friends with some fantastic artists here on Tumblr. One artist is @heart-of-the-morningstar

A few days ago, it was brought to our attention as a friend group that someone had reposted her entire work, and only in the small author note pointed out it was hers, and they were only doing this because the account has errors (Which it doesn't but we will get into that later)

The account in question for doing this is known as @luna-naoffcial

Now, from one Luna to another, stealing other authors' writing, purposefully taking art, and getting rid of the artist's watermark is wrong.

I have compiled a long list of proof of all the transgressions and my own personal grievances regarding what has happened and continues to happen in the artist community.

First off, story stealing:

To accomplish this, I went through every single story and copied not only the summary that this person wrote on their master list but also the first few lines of the text.

With this, I placed it in a Google reverse engine search and managed to find the accounts with the actual stories, all of which, from my understanding, do not belong to @luna-naoffcial.

I would like to dive into the 'apology' given out and the oddities I have found.

I don't know how many people on Tumblr are familiar with the Cait Corrian drama that happened a few years ago.

She was found creating many fake accounts on GoodReads and trying to ruin the chances of her other YA Authors' getting accredited.

She is also notorious for making fake discord messages to try and cover up her deciete

I post this specific account of the story and these screenshots to highlight the oddities of the following messages shared between @luna-naoffcial and her 'friend' @lia65lana towards a third individual named Kate. What is off to me is that there are a lot of odd things involved in this message exchange

For example, Lia is messaging Kate off Luna's account. Why not off your own account? On top of that, why is Kate on Luna's account? I trust many of my friends but would not hand over my account.

This conversation thread looks very similar to the Cait Corrians. Not only that, but the people in the conversation sound and talk very similarly. The grammar, spelling errors, and odd placement of some nouns and verbs are fluid between all 'three' people.

However, I am willing to step back and say it could be a dialect thing, as when I look at the @luna-naofficial account, my Google Translate automatically wants to translate from Mandarin.

What really struck me as odd however was the responses that both accounts posted as apologies

Lia's account is red, and as we have seen, Luna's is green.

Both accounts posted the EXACT SAME MESSAGES. Only Luna's had an additional ending.

As I was investigating for my friend, it changed again

Again, many of these messages don't fully make sense. There are many grammatical and spelling errors, all very similar to the original picture I added first. All of these 'three' people sound, talk, and make the same errors in all the same ways. I would like to play the benefit of the doubt. In these messages, there is talk of depression, death, and anxiety, all things I personally also struggle with and I understand are hard. However, they are not excuses for purposefully stealing other people's hard work and taking credit for them.

You blatantly take credit for others' work, which is wrong and disheartening.

Side note @alastorsmiles1930: The response and messages are also odd and read the same as all these others. This account is also the ONLY account that followed @heart-of-the-morningstar and the others in my friend group. I want to point this oddity out however I hope you are just an innocent bystander

From one Luna to another, please stop this and apologize. Not just to @heart-of-the-morningstar but to everyone you have been stealing from.

Chris can still hear the gunshots even as he drags Leon deeper into the empty side room, fist on the strap of his vest as Leon groans and gasps another of the tiny, pained noises Chris is pretty sure he's trying and failing to hide. The bandage wrapped around his thigh is already soaked scarlet with his blood, sweaty face twisted into an agonized expression as Chris gently lays him down on a slightly cleaner patch of floor. Leon's eyes are as glazed and distant as a porcelain doll's, shaky breaths seemingly all he's capable of until Chris reaches out to cradle the side of his face and he finally blinks. There's blood on his lip; more around the claw marks gouged into his shoulder, his face deathly pale. Chris swallows his fear with effort.

"It's okay, Chris," Leon rasps, seeing right through the facade. He tries for a smile, trembling hand lifting upwards to return the gesture. Chris catches his fingers effortlessly, guiding Leon's slender hand up to his cheek and doing his best to memorize the sensation.

"I know," is all he says, remarkably steady. He leans his head into Leon's touch, carefully shifting until he can press his lips to the centre of Leon's palm for a long moment. He's shaking as he kisses the callused skin, Leon's fingertips tapping weakly at his cheek as he closes his eyes in yet another futile attempt to pull himself back together. It's only when Leon whimpers again does he slowly lower Leon's outstretched arm back down to his chest, twining their fingers together on the spot on Leon's vest just above his heart.

"It'll be okay," Leon says again, faintly, and Chris forces himself to agree.

Demetri joins Cobra Kai after a crisis of confidence. He’s tired of being seen as the “weak nerd” and wants to prove he can be strong too. (And he was afraid of loosing Eli tbh.) Eli is surprised but thrilled to have him by his side.

Eli becomes more confident with his mohawk, but he notices Demetri watching him differently. There’s a new tension when they spar, a hesitation that wasn’t there before. Eli played on this a lot because he knew it would destabilize Demetri.

Demetri isn’t naturally good at karate, but he’s determined. Eli adjusts Demetri’s stance by placing his hands on his hips. Eli starts finding excuses to be closer, helping Demetri adjust his stance, brushing dirt off his shoulder after training, even fixing his messy hair and Johnny always rolls his eyes.

Demetri fell first, he secretly sketches Eli during class when Eli is next to Miguel. He’s really good at it, and his sketchbook is filled with drawings of Eli in his « Hawk Era ». One day, Eli finds the sketchbook and is completely floored. Demetri tries to play it off, but Eli keeps one of the sketches and tucks it into his locker.

Demetri can’t resist making snarky comments during Cobra Kai training. When Kreese gives one of his intense speeches. Demetri mutters : “Yeah, because mercy is for people who don’t want to end up in prison.” Tory finds it hilarious, but Kreese was not amused.

Everyone found Demetri annoying when Cobra Kai passed under Kreese but the others realized that he was smart and quite useful even if they often tell him to shut up but Eli secretly likes to listen to what he said and always defends him by saying that he says something that can be useful

One day at the Cobra’s dojo, Demetri tells Eli he’s thinking about leaving Cobra Kai. Eli gets defensive, accusing Demetri of abandoning him like everyone else.

Demetri sending memes to Eli at 2 a.m. with captions like : “This is you when you’re trying to be intimidating.” And Eli pretends to be annoyed, but he saves every single one.

Demetri is not the strongest but his strategic mind helps him analyze his opponents

Once, Demetri trips, and Eli catches him by the waist. They freeze for a second too long before awkwardly pulling away.

During a heated sparring match, Eli pins Demetri to the ground, and they’re both breathing heavily. Demetri smirks and says, “You’re going soft on me.” Eli leans in close and whispers, “You’re my weakness, Demetri.” before pulling him up and walking away like it’s no big deal.

Tory rolls her eyes every time they bicker like an old married couple, and Robby just sighs and says “Can you two flirt somewhere else ?”

Eli don’t assume it and deny it but he is protective of Demetri, especially when other Cobras try to mess with him. He once punched Kyler for calling Demetri a “nerd,” and when Kreese asked why, Eli just said, “He’s mine.”

After everyone else leaves the dojo, Eli and Demetri stay behind to train or just hang out. They end up lying on the mats, staring at the ceiling, and talking about everything. Eli only has this moments when he is still fully himself and he must not play a role, and it was only with Demetri.

Tory and Demetri are constantly butting heads. But they became kind of friends after they have surprised each other to be in a shop for Valentine's Day... Tory was like “Keep the secret or I kill you.” until she saw what Demetri had been hiding behind his back and started teasing him about Eli.

Demetri is forced to fight Eli one day. Demetri refuses to fight. Eli, frustrated and conflicted, yells “Why do you always have to make things so difficult ?” And Demetri finally snaps, “Because I care about you, you idiot ! More than Cobra Kai ever will !”… The dojo falls silent, and Hawk is left speechless…

Eli lets Demetri braid his hair, even though it’s short and spiky, and he always carries Demetri���s favorite snacks in his backpack in case he gets hungry during training.

Eli accuses Demetri of being jealous and not understanding what it’s like to be strong when they argue about Cobra Kai

One night, Demetri admits “I joined Cobra Kai because I couldn’t stand the thought of losing you.” Eli responds by kissing him quickly, but Eli then said that Demetri had to forget about it and pretend it never happened. Eli avoids Demetri for days, torn between his loyalty to Cobra Kai and his feelings for Demetri. Eli remained in denial, but Demetri couldn't forget it, he had fallen first, remember ?

When Eli and Demetri finally decide to leave Cobra Kai, Demetri whispers “You can be both badass and kind. And we could do that together.” and Eli replies, “I don’t why I bite”. Demetri taking him in his arms.. Eli cried.

They joined Miyagi-Do the night Cobra Kai’s students went to Daniel's house and came to the dojo the next day to apologize to Daniel and their friends.

When they joined Miyagi-Do, Eli noticed that Demetri looked at him less, Eli saw Demetri happy and it made him jealous to see that he was not happy because of him.. Hey Eli, what happen here ? That’s the first time this happen right ?

But at the same time Demetri seemed more confident and it was strangely Eli's turn to fall (harder) for Demetri. At the same time Eli was sad to see him closer to the other students, but at the same time Eli was completely intimidated by the way he was more confident. Something strange happens in his stomach every time he sees Demetri in this way.

Demetri starts to notice how Eli looks at him when he thinks no one’s watching.

Demetri saw the change but it just can't be reciprocated… It can’t be.. Eli played with him a little bit when they were in Cobra Kai but that doesn't mean Eli was really in love with him and is currently, right ?

Eli became softer the longer he was at Miyagi-Do, Demetri and Eli remained close but Eli fully realized what was happening as Demetri tried to forget what he felt for Eli and it worked quite well.

It pissed Eli off to see Demetri turn a blind eye to this situation. Eli then called Moon in a rage to ask for advice, he was angry against Demetri without knowing exactly why.

Moon invited Eli to her house, Eli starts pacing around the room, ranting about how Demetri is “too passive” and “doesn’t get it.”

Moon listens quietly, sipping her tea, and then says, “Eli, why are you really mad at Demetri ? What he doesn't get it ?”—————-Eli freezes. “What are you talking about ?” Moon raises an eyebrow. “You’re not fooling anyone. You’re mad because you care about him. Like, really care about him. And it’s freaking you out.”

Eli starts overthinking everything after Moon’s talk. He spends hours replaying moments with Demetri in his head, questioning why he’s been so angry when, deep down, he just wants to be close to him. He doesn’t know what to do with those feelings, but he can’t ignore them anymore.

Demetri feels something’s off, but he doesn’t know what. Eli’s being distant, but also… more present than usual. Demetri’s confused, but he doesn’t want to ask.

Moon doesn’t directly push Eli to talk to Demetri, but she’s always there with that knowing look. Every time she sees him trying to bury his feelings, she just raises an eyebrow, knowing he can’t keep running forever.

Demetri starts to notice something’s off. He doesn’t fully understand it, but the way Eli keeps pulling away, then comes back acting like nothing’s changed—it doesn’t sit right with him. He senses that Eli’s hiding something, but he doesn’t know if it’s something he wants to know.

Eli starts doing little things, like sending Demetri a random text to check in, or letting him win a game of something, but always hiding behind a joke to avoid saying anything serious. He’s terrified of being vulnerable.

Eli starts to do the smallest things that show he cares, but he hides behind sarcasm or an awkward joke. Like when Demetri’s been working all day and Eli drops a drink in front of him, saying something like, “You’re gonna need this more than me,” when really, it’s just his way of trying to be nIcE without admitting it.

Moon starts seeing right through him. She knows what Eli’s doing, and it’s starting to get under her skin. She can only watch him deny his feelings for so long before she gives him a push.

Eli's weak point is the way Demetri has to open his mouth with his teeth visible, he finds him terribly cute that way

One night, when everything is too much for Eli to keep bottled up, he send on Ig : “I care about you, Demetri. And it’s more than just friendship, alright ? I can’t even explain it, but it scares me. I hate that it’s you, but it is, and I can’t hide it anymore.”

Demetri often has two reactions when he received an important message : Either he responds extremely quickly and needs an immediate response, he stays in the conversation OR he rereads the message and the conversation 50 times until he can't sleep. In both cases he panics but in a different way. He can do both at the same time.

That night he was being unable to answer. He reread the message many times without being able to sleep.

When Yasmine returned to high school Yasmine and Demetri went out together. Eli went a little crazy, he didn't understand how Demetri could ignore this situation and start a relationship with Yasmine so quickly.

Demetri has never had anyone in his life, he is quite shy and never dares to make the first move. With Yasmine it became easy because even if he was shy it was clear that she was leading their relationship but with Eli he made a 404 error. His relationship with Yasmine was pretty fast in fact.

Yasmine and Tory dated for a while. Demetri was surprised but it was okay for him.

When Tory finally joined Miyagi-Do, Demetri and Tory's relationship was strange and distant. People could notice that because they knew she was with Yasmine it wasn't that long ago.

Demetri became close to Eli again, Eli accept his true comeback, Dem told him about MIT but it wasn't in Eli's plans to go there. This has become a subject of conflict for them.

Okay, so during Capture the Flag, Eli and Demetri were not okay. Like, at all. It wasn’t just the game, Eli and Demetri definitely had a moment. They got caught up in the heat of the game, but the real argument started after when the competitive tension spilled over. :

Demetri completely losing it. “You don’t get it, Eli. I don’t know how to deal with all of this… MIT, us, everything ! It’s too much !” But Eli froze. “Us ?” he repeated, the word lingering in the air. But Demetri shut down, realizing what he’d just said. He didn’t mean to expose that much so he went to join the others to show his flag.

THIS HOW WE CAME TO THEIR TRUE FIRST KISS, A LITTLE STORY :o :

Later that night, Eli sent Demetri a text. Just one word : “Movie ?” - No context, no explanation. Just movie… Because Eli needed to see him, needed to talk to him, but he didn’t know how to say any of that out loud.

The movie theater was dark, and they sat next to each other, but there was this gap between them. Not physically—they were close enough that their arms brushed every time one of them reached for the popcorn—but emotionally? It was like there was this invisible wall, and neither of them knew how to break it down.

Eli kept stealing looking at Demetri, and every time Demetri caught him, their eyes would meet for half a second before they both looked away, like they were scared of what might happen if they held each other’s gaze for too long.

The walk home was quiet, the kind of quiet that feels heavy, like the night itself was holding its breath. And then, out of nowhere, Demetri hands shoved deep into his hoodie pockets, then, without warning, it just slipped out : “I love you.” SO… Eli froze. Like, full-stop, mid-step, heart-skipping-a-beat froze. He turned his head slowly to look at Demetri, completly serious. “What did you say ?”

Demetri’s cheeks immediately flushed a deep pink. He squeezed his eyes shut, his mouth slightly open like he couldn’t believe the words had actually escaped. His heart was pounding so hard he thought it might burst out of his chest. “I… I love you” he repeated, louder this time but still trembling, like he was terrified of what might happen next.

Eli’s breath caught in his throat. He stared at Demetri, his chest rising and falling like he’d just run a marathon. His mind was racing, his heart pounding so hard he thought it might burst. “Demetri…” he started, but the words got stuck.

Demetri opened his eyes, his gaze locking with Eli’s. He looked terrified but determined, like he’d just thrown himself off a cliff and was waiting to see if Eli would catch him. “You don’t have to say it back” he said quickly w shaky voice. “I just… I needed you to know.” (KISS NOW NOW NOW)

Eli stepped closer, his hands trembling as he reached up to brush a strand of hair out of Demetri’s face. His touch was so gentle it made Demetri’s breath hitch. “What if I…” Eli started, his voice low and hesitant, his eyes flicking down to Demetri’s lips and then back up. “What if I really want to kiss you right now ?” (🌈)

Demetri’s heart skipped a beat and he nodded. “Yeah” he said, his cheeks still burning. “I’d… I’d be okay with that.”

And then Eli kissed him. It wasn’t soft or tentative : it was everything. Eli’s lips pressed against Demetri’s with a kind of desperate intensity, like he’d been holding back for so long and couldn’t anymore. Demetri’s hands flew to Eli’s waist, gripping him like he was afraid Eli might disappear if he let go.

The kiss was messy but perfect, full of all the emotions they’d been too scared to name. When they finally pulled away, both of them were breathless, their foreheads resting against each other. Demetri blinked, his eyes wide, his cheeks still flushed. “Wow,” he said, his voice shaky but full of awe. “That was… wow.”

Eli laughed, a soft, breathless sound, his hands still cupping Demetri’s face. “Yeah,” he said, his voice rough with emotion. “It was.”

Demetri’s grin started to spread, his usual teasing creeping back in. “So, uh… was that your way of saying you meant the text ?”

Eli rolled his eyes, but was smiling too, his thumb brushing over Demetri’s cheek. “Yeah, dumbass.” he said, his voice fond. “I meant it.”

Demetri’s grin widened, his hands still gripping Eli’s waist like he was afraid Eli might disappear if he let go. “Good,” he said, his voice trembling but full of relief. “Because I meant it too. I just… didn’t know how to say it back.”

Eli raised an eyebrow, his smile turning playful. “So you just ghosted me instead ?”

Demetri let out a shaky laugh, his cheeks burning even brighter. “I panicked, okay ?” getting defensive but still teasing. “I didn’t know how to handle it. You can’t just drop a bomb like that in a text and expect me to be cool about it.” (DEMETRI I DONT APOLOGIZE U FOR BEING STRESS LIKE THAT PERSONALLY)

Eli laughed, the sound soft and full of affection. “Yeah, well..” he said, his voice low and teasing, “I think you handled it just fine.” Demetri’s grin turned smug, his hands sliding up to rest on Eli’s shoulders. “Oh, so you’re saying I’m a good kisser ?”

Eli rolled his eyes again, but he was still smiling, his hands moving to rest on Demetri’s hips. “Don’t let it go to your head Dem.” he said, his voice fond.

Demetri laughed, the sound shaky but full of relief, and then he kissed Eli again, slower this time, savoring the moment. When they pulled away, they were both smiling like idiots, their hands intertwined as they started walking again.

I got directed towards Music Meister and now he lives rent free in my head. Ludicrously overpowered, but that just means he's Gotham's newest and greatest nightmare.

Some headcanons for my verse:

-Number: 1.

-Chaos. He shows up 5 months after Riddler's brutal beating by Green Arrow and is the Chaos to Riddler's Order. Gotham ->Batman ->Joker ->Riddler ->Meister.

-Has no "real" name.

-20-ish, making him one of the younger rogues.

-Bothers Joker the way Joker bothers Lex. Joker considers him to be an anklebiter.

-Colors: Purples, greens and bright red.

-His start outfit falls into Joker's purples-greens range, but his current outfit looks like he raided Riddler's wardrobe.

-Enjoys roaming around Gotham and singing, sending people scrambling. Classified as a tornado and even has a radio program dedicated to tracking him when he’s in storm-mode.

-Meister: I was once proud to say I wan't deeply obsessed with Batman. Joker: What happened? Meister: He slammed me ass first into the hood of car and told me to be quiet. Joker: Ahahaha, the would do it.

-Motives for crime: Money, control, fun and attention. Sheer power display.

-Nightmare difficulty when it comes to handling him. He enjoys pushing and testing boundaries, teasing. Will just emit extremely high tones at random which can knock people out cold. He's also figured out what kind of music Batman hates. The only plus is he doesn't try to randomly stab Batman.

-Hypnosis: You're aware he's controlling you. Because he thinks this is funny.

-He really hates the Green Arrow family.

-Batman is the only hero he'll listen to. He just barely tolerates the rest of the Batfamily.

New Ranma 1/2 Fanfic Chapter: Musabetsu Kakutō Ryū Tenka'ichi Budōkai Chapter 6

The next chapter of my Ranma and Dragonball crossover is now up.

The quarterfinals of the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament continues with Ranma facing off against some mysterious masked fighter who's identity is definitely a mystery.

Breaking away and holding a defensive stance at a distance, Ranma took a moment to scan over the crowd, hoping to maybe catch the sight of one of her old friends. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to recognize anyone, and with a small grumble she returned her focus back to her current opponent. Although that was only for a moment as her mind began to wander again as she charged back in. ‘At this point I’d take that one guy with the terrible sense of direction. Ryu something? Right, I had to basically lead him by the hand every time, and he always seemed so grumpy about stuff, but at least he was a good sparring partner. Plus, he had a really cool dog. Yeah, Shirokuro was the best. Ugh, what was that guy’s name? Ryu…Ryo…’ “Ryoga! That’s it!” Her sudden outburst seemed to surprise her opponent just long enough for her to get a solid kick to his head, knocking him to the ground. “The Masked Avenger is down, folks! Has the fiery haired fighter managed to prevail?” The 10 count was started, but the masked boy was able to get up with plenty of time left. Ranma couldn’t help but shake her head and grumble, “Dammit, those other sexist assholes went down way easier than this.”  The boy shot an angry, yet also befuddled look towards Ranma. “What did you just say?” “Nothing, just how much of a tough bastard you are,” the redhead responded while lightly rubbing her sore leg. “The heck are you made out of, anyway?” “No, not that. The other thing. What you said before.” He clarified, pointing an accusing finger her way. “Huh? Oh sorry, I was thinking about a different person I used to know,” Ranma answered with a dismissive wave. “Couldn’t find his way out of a room with one door, but he was still a pretty decent guy though. Oh, and he also had a pair of really cute fangs, just like the ones that…you…have…” The sudden look of realization on the masked boy’s face perfectly mirrored her own. “Wait, Ranma?” “Um, yeah,” the redhead said. “Hold on, are you…” “Oh my,” Kasumi declared to the audience, “it appears that our current fighters may in fact know each other.” “Yes, what an amazing turn of events,” the announcer added. “Oh, and our mysterious fighter is now removing his mask! Who shall we see hiding under-oh, it’s another mask. Wait, he’s removing that one, and…there’s a third one under it.” “Oh, how interesting,” Kasumi noted. “Our masked contestant has certainly gone to great lengths to keep his identity a secret.” “I don’t know, Sis,” Nabiki deadpanned from the side. “I’m pretty sure this guy is just a complete idiot.” “Ryoga, It is you!” Ranma happily yelled out.

Explain the shift: the ADHD method

as always i bring only easy methods for shifting!

This method is another famous one, and, as the name says, it is a method that is made to be more comfortable for people with ADHD and make it easier for them to shift. Everyone can use this method.

How do I do the adhd method?

We, obviously, lay down in a comfortable position and put on 8D music with headphones. This method requires you to breathe and take deep breaths every time the sound makes a full circle around your head. counting the circles, repeating your affirmation when you reach the 10s (20, 30, 40), and when you reach the 100, affirm that you shifted. Now spend the rest of the time visualizing and imagining whatever you like until you fall asleep, and you should wake up in your doctor.

My thoughts:

The raven method for adhd people, I will give this method a good 6-7/10 because I shifted with it. It is a really good method for me, but I personally can use it when I am overwhelmed or overstimulated. But this is a personal experience, so obviously everyone is different!

So, I've alluded to a scene in Aquarius where Kit bites Sails while kissing him... And now that I'm thinking of Kit/Tails in that setting, I thought of how it would play out differently with them.

((Note that I drew+wrote this post before finishing Ice Cream Break, which it is sort of a companion piece to))

In both instances, Kit doesn't know what the frick he's doing and is aggressive/bitey to cover up his insecurity. He also has a skewed view of love/affection in general, so he partially thinks you're kinda... Supposed to do that. dfklsdfj He genuinely likes Sails, so he's mostly just embarrassed about the whole thing. But with Tails, he is a bit of a shit on purpose. They have history and even though Kit's not trying to kill him anymore, he still sorta hates him. While also ssssort of liking him? Feelings man, what even are they??? (Being confused about this only furthers his animosity towards poor Tails. Who hasn't really done anything to deserve it. sdkfjlsdfds)

Anyway, now that he knows Tails is into him, he'll totally use that against him. He tests the waters, seeing what bad behavior he can get away with . He's going to have fun with it (I personally love it when Kit is a conniving a-hole. Can you tell.). So the above happens... And Tails is like "Dude, wtf? Omg, why it so hot when he smiles evilly at me like that? Oh Gaia, I'm in trouble. dskflsdjf"

Soooo yeah. Their relationship doesn't start out all that healthy. Eventually, I could see it going either good, bad, or terrible. Bad being that they break up and have a falling out because Kit can't stop being a shit. Terrible being that they stay together despite Kit being a shit (nooo, poor Tails! T^T). Good being that they finally come to an understanding where they have a healthy relationship (be it a continued romance or shifting gears to respected friend/ally). Not really sure what it would take to get there, but that's about as far as I've thought of them together-together up until this point. Idk, maybe Cream would find out how Kit's been treating Tails and beats his ass. \j dsfskdlfjsd

But yeah, one of the reasons Someplace!Tails never pursued Kit despite his long-time crush was because he was aware of how badly the baggage between them still effected Kit. And that it probably could never truly work because of it. He thought he was doing good by pushing his feelings down and just giving Kit space. Which, based on the above... I mean, he was mostly right. There's so much more I could say on ALL OF THE POINTS I've made, but I'd be writing a daggum book.

Long story short, I've thought about vanilla Kit/Tails from the Someplace au before. A bit. :D So thank you @Corvussio for giving me an excuse to ramble about hypotheticals and stuff! ^-^

I love looking at how the math of tabletop mechanics works out. Ever since I sat down with some graph paper in high school and histogrammed the difference between 3d6 and 3d6 drop 1.

So the first thing I thought of when I saw this was "well, given a pool of size N, how long would it take it to get to 0, on average?"

Each die rolls either high (4-6), or low (1-3). After you roll a pool, you throw away all your low dice. If all your dice roll high, you roll again with the same pool size. If all your dice roll low, you're done.

An individual die has a 50 percent chance of rolling high. It always gets used in at least one pool roll, and whether it survives to another depends on what value it rolls. However, if it does roll high, we are now in the same situation we started in: we have one die. So we can express e, the expected number of pool rolls an individual die would survive, using a recurrence relation: e = 1 + 0.5 e. Using some algebra gives us e = 2.

If we have a pool of size N, then we might be tempted to say we should also expect it to survive 2 pool rolls. After all, each individual die is expected to survive that long, and no die affects any other.

But the truth is more fun than that.

Let E(N) be the expected number of pool rolls we get out of a pool of size N. We know we don't get any more rolls if we have zero dice, so E(0) = 0. There's only one way to roll all highs, but there's N ways to roll one low and N-1 highs, since that could be any one of the N dice, and N(N-1)/2 ways of rolling two lows and N-2 highs, since that's how many different pairs of dice there are.

In general, there's N choose H ways of rolling H highs and N-H lows. That means the probability of any particular combination of highs and lows is (N choose L)(probability of H dice all rolling highs)(probability of N-H dice all rolling lows). The probability of K dice all rolling the same value is 0.5 ** K, so the probability of rolling exactly H highs with N dice works out to (N choose H)(0.5 ** H)(0.5 ** (N-H)) which simplifies to just (N choose H)(0.5 ** N).

Now we can get a recurrence relation for E(N) in terms of the probability of our next pool having H dice and the expected number of rolls that pool has, E(H).

E(N) = 1 + Σ (N choose H) (0.5 ** N) E(H), 0 ≤ H ≤ N

This is great! But slightly unsatisfying as if we look at the right hand side closely, we can see that we're defining E(N) in terms of E(N).

Okay post number 2 I’ll actually explain myself.

Every time I think about Impa I go bonkers but ESPECIALLY when I think about Impa and Ganondorf/Demise. These two are having a full on SAGA off screen and Nintendo is just too afraid of the raw energy their dynamic would bring. They would steal the show if let loose. Zelda and Link’s soulmate bond would pale in comparison to their absolutely fucked up 8D chess eternal rivalry. They’ve been playing the “too different to ever be friends, too similar to hate each other” game for centuries and it’s high time we addressed it lmao

Despite having about one scene of on-screen interaction and no dialogue together, Impa and Ganondorf are pretty clearly set up to be narrative foils. Impa is the servant of the goddess, the protector of Zelda, and guide to Link. Ganondorf is the rebel, the Demon King, and the opponent of the Princess and the Hero. Impa is defined by her selflessness, time and again devoting her life to serving Hylia and the Royal Family, even at a price for herself. Ganondorf, in contrast, is characteristically selfish; seeking to fulfill his own goals at the expense of others.

The Sheikah and the Gerudo are foils too. Both suffer the subjugation of the Royal Family, and both are the only other two human races besides Hylians. However, the Sheikah for the most part conform to their roles, serving the Royal Family, (therefore labeled as “good” by the Hylian narrative), while the Gerudo actively resist that regime (and are hence labeled as “bad”).

(The Yiga Clan is also a very curious facet of this issue, but that’s a whole other can of worms I don’t really feel equipped to discuss right now.)

Impa and Ganondorf are also tied together through their game appearances. Impa does not appear in a game without Ganon, and while Ganondorf sometimes appears without Impa, two of those occasions are Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. The same man as OOT, who has already met her. (FSA idk what’s going on there lmao. She wanted a break and that’s valid.) Timeline wise, they also return together after SS, both appearing in OOT after not being present during Minish Cap or FS. Intentionally or not, if one of them is there, the other will be too.

Impa and Ganondorf are undoubtedly paired together in the cycle, although less explicitly than Zelda and Link. They balance out the four, with Link and Zelda being destined always to find each other and work together, whereas Ganondorf and Impa are destined always to work against each other. Ganon attacks the kingdom, and Impa facilitates the resistance.

For all their differences, Impa and Ganondorf often operate in very similar ways. Throughout many of the games, they’re both working behind the scenes; nudging the heroes or their minions in the direction they want like chess pieces on a board. Ganondorf is more explicit in this (ex: Zant, Vaati, etc) but it’s important to remember that Impa is more than a passive side character. In Skyward Sword, she is directing Zelda down the path that leads to pretty much every major event in the game, and in Ocarina of Time, she raised Sheik and almost certainly sent him out to find Link. (Honestly, as much as Zelda is Hylia-incarnate, Impa is really the one pushing the Goddess’s agenda.) From these roles as orchestrators, they share a level a power over the narrative that the other characters don’t possess. Power that exists to contradict the other.

There’s also the scene in OOT where Impa escapes with young Zelda, pursued by Ganondorf, and it’s entirely possible they duked it out before the drawbridge bit. If so, then Impa’s escape implies a level of combat/magical power that is reasonably comparable to Ganondorf’s. I think it’s reasonable to say that Ganondorf likely outweighs Impa in raw strength, but she holds her ground surprisingly well. Ex: surviving the Calamity, escaping the castle in the OG game, also probably surviving the initial fight with Demise as Hylia’s guardian.

The icing on the cake to all of this is that when developing the lore, Impa was originally supposed to be a bearer of the Triforce with Link and Zelda. I checked the Hyrule Historia after seeing a post about Impa initially wielding Power and it’s true. She was originally supposed to be a guardian alongside Link and Zelda, not Ganon. And I just… oh my gosh the implications of that.

Looking at Impa through the lens of not necessarily someone who was destined to wield Power in canon, but someone who conceivably could is so fascinating. It makes her connection to Ganondorf all the more potent, not just as foils, but as two people who could just as easily be each other as oppose each other. In Ocarina of Time, for example, it’s not hard to picture an Impa who took a similar path as Ganondorf. Her people have been brought to the brink of near extinction, mostly thanks to the Royal Family. It’s entirely conceivable that she might find herself drawn to the Triforce just as much as Ganon was, seeking not coveted wind, but the undoing of so many lost lives.

All of this just sets the ground work for an absolutely fascinating relationship, and it drives me nuts that the games never explore it. Impa and Ganondorf both share a great deal of ambiguity regarding their intentions, motives, and overall feelings, and focusing on the two of them would open the doors to aspects of their character we haven’t seen. Being non-Hylian, older, and typically more world weary than Link and Zelda, they have a perspective on the cycle that is intriguing, and almost certainly not as positive. I think that would be neat to see.

Demise and Impa also have some interesting potential, especially considering how much time they spent in proximity. Like she spent centuries guarding the Imprisoned, as well as the sword he was sealed in. Did they ever speak? Did she know him from before he was sealed? Did he respect her skill and power the way he respected Link’s? There’s so many brain worms there.

Anyway, I have so many more thoughts on these two but honestly they’re better expressed via creative writing lmao. I can’t even begin to describe the absolutely insanity that their interactions would be. They’re like mortal enemies and begrudging friends and bitter exes and strangers in the same sad situation and hot messes all at once.

possible cribbage hand scores

my father is the type of unreliable narrator who does not realize how unreliable he is. this is mainly a problem because as a child i naturally believed the things he said to me, and now as an adult i can't trust any of the information i acquired about the world in childhood. one of the less essential things i learned from him was cribbage. whenever one of us had a hand with zero points, he would say "nineteen!" because, according to him, it's impossible to score exactly 19 points in a hand. is this true? or is it another fiction that he simply believes to be true? i could look it up, but i recently started thinking about it on a two-hour walk when i didn't feel like getting my phone out of my pocket, so let's continue in that vein as far as we can, shall we?

cribbage is played with a standard 52-card deck. hand scoring uses the four cards of your hand proper plus one cut card. (so this is not counting cribs or pegging. turning up a jack in the cut when you are the dealer (heels) is pegging imo and so does not count in the scoring of your hand.) these are the things that count for points:

right jack/nobs=1 point. right jack is a jack in your hand that is the same suit as the cut card.

one pair (two of a kind)=2 points

one fifteen=2 points. a fifteen is any combination of (two to five) cards adding up to 15 (face cards are 10, ace is 1, 2-10 are 2-10).

run of three=3 points. runs are not suit-sensitive, so a five of diamonds, six of hearts, and seven of spades would be a run.

run of four=4 points

4-card flush=4 points. a 4-card flush means all four of the cards in your hand proper are the same suit.

run of five=5 points

5-card flush=5 points. a 5-card flush includes the cut card.

named combinations:

three of a kind (pair royal) is three pair, so 3x2=6 points. (for example if you have the 8s of hearts, diamonds, and spades, the possible pairs would be 8H/8S, 8H/8D, 8S/8D.)

double run is 2 runs of three plus a pair, so (3x2)+2=8 points. (you can get 2 runs of three even though you only have five cards available by reusing cards. so for instance a J, a Q, and two Ks is considered 2 runs of three: the J, Q, and one of the Ks is one run, and the J, Q, and the other K is the second run.)

double long run is 2 runs of four plus a pair, so (4x2)+2=10 points

four of a kind (double pair royal) is six pair, so 6x2=12 points. (let's say you have all the 8s. your possible pairs are 8H/8S, 8H/8D, 8H/8C, 8S/8D, 8S/8C, 8D/8C.)

triple run is 3 runs of three plus three of a kind, so (3x3)+(3x2)=15 points

double double run is 4 runs of three plus two pair, so (3x4)+(2x2)=16 points. (for example, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8 would be a double double run. there are 4 ways to get the three-card run 6, 7, 8 out of these five cards: 6, 7A, 8A; 6, 7A, 8B; 6, 7B, 8A; 6, 7B, 8B.)

it looks like there would be lots of ways to get to a score of 19. for instance, a triple run (15 points) and two fifteens (4 points). but what cards would those be? a triple run is essentially a run of three with one of the cards tripled, so for instance one J, one Q, and three Ks. it would be pretty easy to get three fifteens (because one card is repeated three times), or one fifteen (e.g., if the two cards that aren't repeated add up to fifteen), but two? is it possible to get exactly two fifteens this way?

any combination of ace, 2, and 3 totals less than fifteen (closest is one ace, one 2, and three 3s, which gets to 12), so zero fifteens.

2, 3, 4: three 2s, one 3, and one 4 only adds up to 13 using all cards. no fifteens. one 2, three 3s, and one 4 has one fifteen (using all five cards, 2+3+3+3+4=15). 1-2, 1-3, 3-4 has one fifteen (3+4+4+4).

3, 4, 5: 3-3, 1-4, 1-5 has three fifteens (the 4 and the 5 plus two of the threes, three different ways (three of a kind=three pair)). 1-3, 3-4, 1-5 has one fifteen (the 3 and the 4s). 1-3, 1-4, 3-5 has one fifteen (the 5s).

4, 5, 6: 3-4, 1-5, 1-6 has three fifteens (4+5+6, and there are three options for the 4). 1-4, 3-5, 1-6 has four fifteens (5+5+5, and then three versions of 4+5+6). 1-4, 1-5, 3-6 has three fifteens (4+5+6, with three options for the 6).

5, 6, 7: 3-5, 1-6, 1-7 has one fifteen (5+5+5). 1-5, 3-6, 1-7 has no fifteens. (starting from this point, where the tripled card is higher than a 5, it will no longer be possible to make a fifteen with more than 2 cards; they will add up too high. so we can ignore all but 2-card combinations.) 1-5, 1-6, 3-7 has no fifteens.

6, 7, 8: 3-6, 1-7, 1-8 has one fifteen (7+8). 1-6, 3-7, 1-8 has three fifteens (the 8 with each of the 7s). same with 1-6, 1-7, 3-8.

7, 8, 9: same as previous bullet: if the tripled card is 7 or 8, three fifteens; otherwise, one fifteen.

8, 9, 10 and above: no fifteens possible because even two cards together add up to more than fifteen.

so, no. if you have a triple run your fifteen options are zero, one, three, or four, but never two!

i'm sure there exist standardized cribbage notation systems but i am going to make my own. P=pair, R=run (R3=three-card run, etc.; RR=double run; RR4=double long run; RRR=triple run), F=flush (F4=4-card flush; F5=5-card flush). one P/15=either one pair or one fifteen. n P/15=any combination of pairs and fifteens scoring 2n, keeping in mind that the highest number of pairs possible in a hand of five cards is two (because three pair would require six cards...unless of course you include three or four of a kind, but i am considering those separate phenomena). so for instance 6 P/15 would functionally mean either two pair and four fifteens, one pair and five fifteens, or six fifteens.

score of 2: 1 P/15.

score of 3: right jack and 1 P/15. R3.

score of 4: 2 P/15. R4. F4. R3 plus right jack.

score of 13: four of a kind plus right jack (either you have all four jacks in your hand, or you have a jack of one suit plus three of some other card in the three other suits, and then the fourth of that card is cut). RR, two 15s, and right jack (example: JS, 9, 8, 8, and 7S is cut).

score of 14: four of a kind plus one 15 (only possibility is 2, 2, 2, 2, 7). RR and three 15s (example: 9, 10, 10, J, 5). RR4 and two 15s (example: 7, 7, 8, 9, 10). three of a kind plus four 15s (example: 5, 5, 5, 7, Q).

score of 22: three of a kind, seven 15s, and a pair (5, 5, 5, 10, 10).

score of 23: RRR plus four 15s (only possibility is 4, 5, 5, 5, 6). three of a kind (of 5s), seven 15s, a pair (of jacks), and right jack (example: 5, 5, JS, JH, 5S is cut).

score of 24: double double run and four 15s (example: 6, 7, 7, 8, 8). four of a kind and six 15s (example: 4, 4, 4, 4, 7).

score of 25, 26, 27: none?

score of 28: four of a kind plus eight 15s (only possible if you have all four 5s, plus any ten-counter other than right jack; that would get you four 15s using the ten-counter with each 5, and then four 15s out of the four possible combinations of three 5s (5H/5S/5D, 5H/5S/5C, 5H/5D/5C, 5S/5D/5C)).

score of 29: same as above except the ten-counter must be right jack. so you hold in your hand one jack plus three 5s, none of which are in the same suit as the jack, and then the cut card is the remaining 5.

i looked this up just now to confirm and it is true, there is no way to score 19, 25, 26, 27, or more than 29 points in a single hand not counting the crib or pegging. so 19 is the lowest impossible score! chalk one up for my dad in the "true" column.
