Shamane’s character event is one of the best because of when it happened in the game. It showed us exactly how arcane creatures behave and adapt to the ecosystem before we got to [Farewell, Rayashki]. Where Windsong told us exactly what arcane creatures are like, and how they merge into the ecosystem alongside humans. Shamane’s job was to be apart of nature and live in harmony with it while being a person. Most notably, the event showed us how creatures like carbuncles, who are the main reoccurring enemy in the game, aren’t entirely feral like we thought. People like Jessica and New Babel can control arcane creatures like carbuncles, in Jessica’s case she can even talk to them, but they don’t necessarily make friends with them and convince them to fight by their side.

omg hurt/comfort dialogue prompt 2 with reader calling trans!levi their boyfriend for the first time akxjebajabda (sry for sending two asks in a row)
- 🥛
//transphobia theme | wc: ~1.0k
Without any conscious thought, Levi methodically and neatly washes the dishes, cutlery, and (particularly stubborn) pan you cooked dinner with. Warm suds soak his hands. He muses briefly that he’d prefer to wash dishes for a living than do what he does now—but today was the shittiest of all days to be fair.
Your date helped. Only a minor dark cloud hangs over his head now.
And these dishes. You protested, but he insisted after you insisted on doing all the cooking—after he told you what happened.
In retrospect, maybe he should’ve cancelled so that he didn’t make you feel like you had to cook for him. He’s sure he brought the mood down a little, but he chose to be selfish. He’d been looking forward to this all day (for good reason), especially after the shitty ordeal at work.
In fact, tonight with you became his sole motivation not to leave. To just walk out. Erwin, his boss, would’ve condoned it, let alone understood.
But he didn’t want to get behind. He also doesn’t want you to be his maid, so here he is.
Unfortunately, he begins to reflect on it again. He deals with some shit on a daily basis—arguably work hasn’t been bad since his birthday is coming up—but that’s just it. One of Levi’s coworkers took it upon herself to make goody bags for everyone in the office.
Between them, they were nothing more than acquaintances. It must’ve been embarrassing for her to ask his name, so she went to the transphobic piece-of-shit motherfucker, the kind of person that hides their shittiness well. He “doesn’t agree with Levi’s lifestyle”. Levi hates him.
But she didn’t know that. Scrawled across the silken ribbon in calligraphy, then, was the name that’s dead to him. He hadn’t seen it in so long that his instinct was to say she gave him the wrong bag. And then the sort of nausea that only comes about from a myriad of bitter, hurt feelings came.
Just an accident, though, on her part. She apologized profusely. Levi reported the guy to HR again.
You audibly sighed in relief when he told you that part. Even with the knowledge that nothing will change, Levi was comforted by your encouragement.
He blinks out of his thoughts as you giggle at something your friend Pieck said on the phone. You sit a ways behind him, at the kitchen bar. You have the fancy high-top seats.
He can make out a reversed mirror-image of you through the window in front of him, and the darkness beyond. It’s getting late, which means he has to leave soon. He feels dread at that.
His shoulders are hunched. He’s mostly transitioned (which makes the transphobia at work more frustrating), but old habits die hard.
He makes conscious efforts to relax as you nod. It’s not like Pieck and you are having a face-to-face conversation. It’s cute.
“Bowling? Oh, well…” You make rapid gestures in Levis direction. He quits scrubbing and peers over his shoulder in confusion.
You pin the phone to your shoulder and whisper, “Do you like bowling? Friday night maybe?”
“…Sure,” he blurts out, lying. He’s never been bowling before. And who hasn’t been bowling?
He can’t blame you for not knowing that since bowling Friday night would be your fourth date.
There’s been lots of kissing between back then and now, but that doesn’t mean much since it’s become a game between you, giving him “lessons”. A relationship, let alone this one, is a strange new world to him.
And he wants badly not to fuck it up. He feels shitty for lying as soon as you beam at him, but he can learn how to bowl. He’s met some of your friends, but he can get to know them better.
“I want Levi to come, is that okay? …Oh! He’s my boyfriend.”
He inhales. Pointedly, he turns his head back and fixates on the last of the dishes, but the moment simply doesn’t pass for him.
He’s so… proud? It’s hard to describe when something fundamental about yourself, previously wrong, goes right. His stomach is light. Boyfriend. Your boyfriend.
He’s got the dishes on the rack to dry before you get off the phone, but even then Levi doesn’t know what to do with his hands. He leans against the kitchen counter, and watching in silence as you scroll.
You don’t even mention it. Like nothing notable happened just now. Like you didn’t make his dysphoria and what happened today cease to be and matter. That, but more importantly, he’s your boyfriend.
…Maybe you were just saying that? ‘Boyfriend’ is more convenient than ‘the guy I’m going out with’. Maybe he’s overreacting, even though it’s a good thing.
Or no. That’d be worse.
No. Enough. He’s so sick of his head.
He asks, “What did… you call me before?”
You look up, blinking. “Hm…? Oh. Oh, ‘my boyfriend’? Sorry if that was too—”
“No.”
Finally, he takes action and pushes away from the sink, filled with a burst of longing and gratitude.
He rounds the bar, and stops in front of you with his fists loosely curled by his sides, gathering his wits.
“Say it again,” he requests, but does that sound too much like an order?
His cheeks warm, and then he says more quietly, “Please. Say it again.”
Your eyes light up with surprise, and then a fond smile breaks over your lips. “You’re my boyfriend, Levi.”
He thinks, in awkward fashion, that that’s the end of it before you open your arms and part your legs for him to stand in-between. You embrace him first.
And then kiss his hot cheek. “You’re my boyfriend.”

A Different Lantern Rite
Tumblr media
You were walking through the noisy streets, shops and houses close by each other, you can’t even manage to even squeeze through the crevices, so you have to take a long way round.
It was Lantern Rite, which meant that Liyue was even busier. This year, you were even more excited as you had a date for Lantern Rite.
Kazuha was the one that caught your eye when you first saw him as if it was love at first sight, it had struck you in the heart.
He was sweet and caring, makes wonderful poems, and talks with such grace. Your heartstrings always tangled up together whenever you saw him, the butterflies setting off as if they had just came out of their cocoons. Fireflies always floating their way up to your cheeks and ears to illuminate the red haze on them.
That’s one way you could describe how you felt for him.
Though, in every good thing, there’s always something bad peaking around the corner.
The yells and screams can be heard from a mile away, you’ve never seen him so angry before, you were scared and shocked. Terror aligning your expression.
“I am trying to lead my life! I can’t always be stuck on you! I want to travel and-and make differences! But how can I do that if you’re the one who drags me back like you can’t let go!”
His cool, graceful demeanor now vanished. No matter how many times you tried to explain yourself, he just wouldn’t let you.
“That’s not what-“
“I’m not even finished!”
He went on a tangent, going over your flaws and insecurities, knowing he didn’t care at all about your feelings.
“I’m done with you. I hope to never see you again.” Kazuha said. Those were the last words you heard from him.
Those words stung and burned. Leaving a mark, a scar, that can’t wash away from one single scrub.
Tears threatened to fall from your eyes, and they eventually fell.
Kazuha was right, you wanted to keep him to yourself, wanting to raise a family together with smiles and happiness.
You were holding him back, but if he knew you were doing that, why did he always return?
You didn’t run after him, you watched as he walked through the door of your own house, slamming the door behind him. You had to let him go, to pursue his dreams.
“Boo.”
“Ah!” You screamed, in pure fright.
“You should’ve seen the look on your face, Y/n! You looked so scared!” Klee said, laughing.
“I didn’t mean to scare you so bad, you must’ve been on edge,” Albedo said.
You smiled at him, letting him read your eyes as you didn’t want to Klee to hear. He nodded, seeing your unique response.
“Hey Klee, why don’t you go play with Qiqi and Yao Yao? It’ll be super fun!” You said, lacing your voice with a happy tone.
“Okay!” She said, running off with bombs in her hands.
You stared off into the distance for a few moments before catching your gaze on Albedo.
The same feeling occurred. The heartstrings ran into each other, butterflies and fireflies setting off as if they were timed.
“You seem nervous, is it because of me?” He asked.
“Yes. Yes, it’s because of you, but that isn’t a bad thing.” You said, trying to save your response with a closed eye smile.
Your eyes were still closed at the moment when Albedo took a few steps closer.
Leaning in, he captured your lips in a kiss filled with passion and love, gentle but rough at the same time. You relaxed at the feeling.
Kazuha was staring at both of you from a distance. He was confused, you were seeing someone else. That’s when the memory hit him.
“You stupid idiot!” He yelled, gathering attention.
“Sorry, sorry.”
He wasted his last chance last year at this same time. He was happy to see you happy, that’s all he could ever wish for you.
He walked off.
But you saw him.
This is what it feels like to pass someone you so deeply love when you’re in another relationship with a person who treats you so much better than them.
Who do you choose?
This is for you @kazuhascumslut . I hope you like it.
Also, fanart made by MakkaPakka on Twitter, please go follow them, their art is amazing!

Tumblr media
You come out of your bedroom dressed and ready for work. Your handbag was slung over the depth of your forearm as you headed for the kitchen and the other, scrolling past emails on your phone, admittedly bracing yourself for the mess you know will eventually greet you.
To your surprise, what you see instead were Mat Barzal’s guns rippling through the jet black sweater he had worn last night. A memory that sent your mind to less than eight hours ago, before eventually landing on what happened shortly when the two of you had woken up.
“Thank god you haven’t burnt the house down.” you kid, placing your handbag atop the island.
Mat spares you a quick glance, rolling his eyes whilst he lets you watch him whisk some eggs for breakfast.
“Like it?” he cocks, pertaining to how your eyes were pinned hard on his biceps that he was, for the most part, effortlessly sporting. It’s true, though. He didn’t need to flex because it was just there.
“Coffee or Juice?” he asks, as the kind friend and roommate that he is.
Anthony, as surprising as it was, takes incredibly long showers. If people hadn’t known him well, they’d easily think he’s abusing himself there. But you’ve got to admit that not having him around felt nice for you didn’t have to feel so seen with Mathew.
‘Course, there’s nothing more, like a fix-in on the side, to your set up. You just appreciate the feeling of not having to lie to Beau about all the ugly concealed underneath all the innocent gazes you and Mathew exchange.
“Coffee.” you answer shortly, realizing that you forgot the material you need for today’s meeting.
“Where are you going?” Mat asks when he catches you receding out into the hallway. You didn’t bother looking back, “Forgot something!”
He gets back to whisking the eggs when a chime comes off his phone. He takes it from the counter, placed just before the plates he left to dry last night, absent-mindedly putting the bowl he was holding onto the island, toppling over the green juice he has prepared for himself.
“Shit.” he curses as soon as he sees it for it was already spilling all over the place, making the mess you’ve been secretly anticipating the moment Mathew said he’d make breakfast.
Panicking at how you’d see he’s successfully screwed such a no-brainer task, Mat grabs the first thing he sees on the marbled surface and uses it to clean the mess he’d made.
“Huh.” he muses to himself, realizing that the silk fabric didn’t do much in helping him clean up. He tosses it over the sink carelessly and grabs a few napkin rolls from one of the cupboards.
So much for making an effort to feed Anthony Beauvillier.
“Now, that was fast.” you say with a smirk once you’ve entered the kitchen, startling Mathew as he continued cleaning up after his mess.
“Ha-ha. Very funny.” he sarcastically laughs, discarding the paper towels onto the sink along with the used ones.
Thankfully, your stuff was at the other side of the island so it was very much safe from all the chaos happening at the other end of the marbled surface. However, your laugh dies down the second you realize that your handkerchief was no longer where you’ve last put it.
“Hey,” you call on Mathew, “What’s up?”
“Have you seen my handkerchief? I know I left it somewhere.” you anxiously ask, eyeing every corner of the room hoping to see Nana’s handkerchief, the one she gave to you on your 18th birthday.
“What does it look like?” Mat asks, now holding a pan in his hand as he prepares breakfast.
You proceeded to describe your grandma’s handkerchief in the most specific and perhaps excruciating detail Mathew has ever heard someone talk about something as mind-numbing as a handkerchief.
Despite that, Mat lights up the moment it hits him, not realizing the bigger mess he’s about to walk into. He rejoices at how he knew exactly what you were looking for, “Oh! You mean this?”
With clueless eyes, you watch Mat go over the sink after he wipes his hands dry, fishing out an all too familiar fabric from the sink. Once your eyes land onto the cream colored silk handkerchief, with details carefully sewn by hand, drenching in what seems to be Mat’s morning drink, your heart falls to the pit of your stomach.
“What did you do??” The sudden rise in your voice startles an unsuspecting Mathew. You eagerly went over to his side and hastily snatched the smooth fabric off his hands, “It’s ruined!”
“What? I didn’t know it was yours!” Mat’s eyes are wild with confusion. Puzzled at how you were so fixated on the useless fabric. It didn’t help him anyway. There’s nothing much left to do but to throw it. It’s garbage.
“You ruined it!” you lash out, letting Mat get eaten up by the sudden anger bubbling inside your guts but he was rather quick in defending himself, “I didn’t know it was yours since I grabbed the first thing I could find. Why are you getting upset over a shit-ass handkerchief?”
Your mouth falls and you shake your head, finding his defensiveness quite appalling. “You’re an ass.”
“Look, I’m sorry. I didn’t know it was yours.” he explains, “Come on, it’s just a stupid handkerchief I’ll just buy you a new one.” he tries to laugh the tension off, sporting his signature grin.
Mat take shots of the stunned expression on your face, “Stupid?” you repeat what he said, your eyes already starting to sting with tears. Clearly, you were far too overwhelmed to even acknowledge Mathew’s half-assed apology.
“You’re a fucking asshole.” your words bite and that’s when things took a turn for the worse.
“I said I was fucking sorry! What the hell do you want from me? Shit a fucking hanky?” he rans a hand through his hair, “Do you realize how childish you’re being right now?”
Outraged, and perhaps disappointed by how he was too high up his horse, your voice takes up a higher tone, entering what seems to be an early screaming match between you and Mathew.
“Could you just–” you breathe, “for one second– stop being so goddamn stupid and get over yourself!?” were words that welcomed Anthony the moment he stepped into the kitchen, towel wrapped around his waist, a grin on his face visible as he poured himself a glass of water, inviting himself in the screaming match you and Mathew have exclusively put forth for him.
“Stupid is not when you’ve already apologized a hundred times! Stupid is being such a crybaby and a bitch about it!” Mathew retorts, gaining his better end of the argument.
“What a beautiful morning, isn’t it?” Anthony chimes in, a hand resting on his chin, adoring his two best friends upon getting used to the best worst duo he’s ever known in his life.
“Shut up, Beau.” you say, throwing him a glare.
“Well, beautiful is definitely not in Y/N’s dictionary.” Mathew chides with a smirk, enough to earn himself a scoff from you.
“You know what? I don’t have the time for this bullshit.” you cuss, finally retreating, your already heavy heart taking a better hold on your thoughts, blocking your ability to even come up with a clever remark to come back at Mathew.
You throw the delicate, yet already ruined piece of fabric towards his way as hard as you could before marching out of the kitchen and head off for work.
“Fucking unbelievable.” Mathew curses under his breath once he catches the silk linen, shaking his head as he turns his attention back to the morning task at hand.
You were fucking unbelievable.
Once the boys were left alone, Tito raises a brow, briefly looking back after your footsteps, “What happened here, anyway?” he asks, having realized what must’ve caused such a heated argument so early in the morning.
“I used this handkerchief to wipe the whole thing off and she just went ape shit! I mean–” Anthony cuts Mathew the moment he recognizes the thin cloth he was holding.
“Woah, woah. Wait a minute, you used this?” he muses, stressing on the possibility of what might have been Mathew’s biggest mistake of the day, his eyes darting between him and the fabric.
With furrowed brows, admittedly weirded by how Anthony reacted almost the same way you did a while ago. “It’s just a handkerchief, man. I can go buy her a bunch if that’s what she wants.” he says defensively.
Anthony shakes his head wildly, his irises now dilated as he examined the stain already sitting on the material. “No no. Oh god no.” He says, snatching Mathew’s phone from the counter to google quick remedies that might remove the said stain from the already ruined cloth.
“What do you mean no? You guys spend way too much time together, you’re beginning to be as weird as her.” He scoffs, sipping on a glass of water.
“No, you dumbass. This was her grandma’s!” Anthony says, eyes fixated on the delicate handkerchief. Remembering how you’d told him how long it has been in your family that having Nana give it to you after all the years you’ve spent admiring it from afar meant so much to you than anything anyone could have possibly given you.
“So?” Mat casually replies, closing his arms to his chest before adding, “Is she dead or something? Didn’t you guys visit her for the Holidays?”
“What?? Why would you even say that?– You’re such a jerk.” Tito shakes his head, appalled by how Mathew easily shrugged the matter off when he knew full well how sentimental he himself could be.
“Well, how am I supposed to know?? If that thing’s so important I wouldn’t leave it on top of some random shit lying around!” He counters, defending himself for reaching for the nearest cloth he could find when he did whatever he does best when he’s in the kitchen.
Tito clicks his tongue and looks at Mathew exasperatedly, “Tell me, where did you find this exactly?”, to which Mathew only answered with a quiet voice, “It may or may not have been placed on top of her purse…” he avoids Tito’s gaze, finally catching on how he was the one in the wrong.
“See? Jerk. Now, go figure out how you’ll take the stain off.” Anthony demands, his voice embraced by a definitive tone. One that made Mathew know he wouldn’t be able to persuade him into letting this go.
Tito takes one good look at Mat’s catastrophic attempt to feed the house, striding his way out of the kitchen, “And make sure you apologize!” he adds, footsteps receding into the hallway, leaving Mathew scratching the back of his head out of guilt and frustration.
You have spent the following days either avoiding Mathew or ignoring his existence completely. Anthony talked to you the night that incident happened and assured you that he would do his best to have it fixed. You didn’t want to bother him nor take time off his already busy schedule, but you were just so bummed to even say a word.
That night, you spent the entire evening in your room, facetiming your mother, saying how much you’re missing home. You can’t bring yourself to tell her about the handkerchief. For some people, and that people being Mathew, it might’ve been just some silly thing but Tito knew how much that small piece of cloth meant to you.
Mathew, on the one hand, was for sure guilty to his bones. He didn’t see you that night nor the nights that followed. He didn’t think much of it but when he found himself searching for that same handkerchief in the hopes of replacing it only to find out that it was nowhere to be found in the market, was when he did realize that ruining the one thing that held you closer to home was the last push your non-existent relationship with him had to have for you to finally lose any ounce of amour nor civility you once had for him.
Anthony wasn’t a stranger for said changes either. He began waking up to a still apartment enveloped by a wall you profusely built between you and Mathew. You even unknowingly shut Tito out in the process as well. It was like you were grieving. Like, it was a whole different kind of heartbreak he knew he can’t get you out of that easily.
You tried making it up for your best friend of course. Knowing that you haven’t been yourself since that day. You thought about the possibility of having taken the whole thing too seriously that you might’ve overreacted a bit. Nonetheless, no matter how much you try to push it in the back of your head, Mathew’s mere presence began irking you in ways it never did back when you used to enjoy the bickering you exchange with him, especially in bed.
“Thanks for dinner, belle.” Anthony politely says, earning a smile from you so effortlessly upon hearing the pet name he uses for you. Something Mat only shrugged off, trying to piece out the same gratitude, “Thanks, y/n.” he genuinely adds. But as expected, he had nothing.
You pick up all the empty plates, including Mathew’s, who was sitting in front of you while Anthony sat at the end of the table. Tito hurriedly wipes his mouth with a napkin and takes the plate from you, “Let me help you with that.” he says with the same kind eyes that has never failed to win you over.
“Yeah. Okay, sure.” you shortly answer, leading the way towards the kitchen, leaving one Mathew Barzal feeling small and alone at the dining table.
𖥸
If there was one thing you’d gladly acknowledge after all the years of watching people kiss Mathew’s ass was that he was is really good. He’s fast and he can do unimaginable damage on the ice. There’s no denying that he deserves to be the face of the New York Islanders. But we know you don’t care about any of that. The only thing you care about was how unbelievably good he is at everything he does that not even you or your pink rubber toy could suffice.
He was just that damn good.
As your eyes shut whilst you mount your pleasures on your own, biting your lips to choke in your own moans, Mathew handling you was what circled your mind since you started defiling yourself in the bathroom. You let your arousal be washed away by the warm water trickling down your skin, envisioning Mat’s rough hands grazing your body, touching your core like his hands were meant to do nothing else but that.
It was wrong and pathetic, but you couldn’t think about anything else. You and Mathew have been avoiding each other for days. The dynamic went so much worse than when you weren’t sleeping together and you know that Tito was bound to notice it soon. Thankfully, the boys were on another roadie for a week so you had quite some time to think things through about your current sitch with Mathew. You didn’t like any of it because it felt like you gave a fuck (which obviously, you didn’t). You just feel obligated to sort things out with the biggest ass that ever lived because you didn’t want to involve Tito into the mess you’ve wrongfully made yourself.
You hop off the shower feeling unsatisfied. You haven’t gotten laid since the last time you were with Mat. Which is sad, not just for you but also for her. You’d think considering the boys aren’t around you’d bring someone home, maybe even one or two. But just thinking about going on bars alone so you could find a potential bone-mate is already far too tedious and you weren’t in the right state to do so. You had so much going on at work, anyway. And you can always use a wand to scratch an itch. Neither would satisfy you more than how someone-who-will-not-be-named could, but you might as well be pathetic without having to hook up with some random dude whose name you’ll eventually forget in the morning.
You opted to wear an old pull-over you borrowed (took) from Tito years and years ago and partnered it with some leggings so you’d be comfortable enough for the rest of the night. You have nothing else to do and you are already fed up with your workload that watching a crappy movie off of Netflix doesn’t sound like a bad idea.
With a giant bowl of popcorn and two bottles of beer in your hands, you march your way into the living room, ready to spend the night binge watching romantic comedies, crying and laughing in between. Or maybe just fall asleep on the couch while your comfort TV series is on.
The boys won three games out of the four that they had during the trip and you only saw the ones they won so you were thankful that you didn’t have to sit at home alone watching their faces fall after that OT lost against the Flyers. Anthony phoned you that night and you can just feel the relief in his voice that you didn’t have the time to see it. They weren’t playing like they should. Thankfully, they were able to bounce back.
Your eyes were beginning to grow tired halfway into the movie when you hear the front door open, followed by luggages dragged into the house tirelessly.
“Y/N?” Anthony calls out.
You hit the movie on pause and hurriedly make your way towards the hallway. “You’re home already?”
They were already taking their coats off when you met them halfway, Tito was putting his away while Mat had just taken off his toque and was running his hands through his hair, unconsciously meeting your eyes upon hearing your voice.
You quickly break it off when you give Tito a quick embrace and plant a small kiss on his cheeks, “I texted you.” he says, eyebrows quirked, surprised that you didn’t know.
In an effort to avert any more of his questions you immediately point towards the movie you had on, “Haven’t checked my messages, sorry.”
“So, you guys ate dinner?” you ask, passing Mat a quick look. One that came as a surprise because he wasn’t even hoping to hear a word from you given the way you two left things a little too on the edge, screwing with the whole thing even more.
Mat avoids your irises and faintly nods.
“Big win tonight huh? Told you, you can do it.” you say with a beaming smile, nudging Tito with your hips as you get back to watching your film. “You gotta do what you gotta do, babe.” he winks, lugging his stuff around towards his bedroom.
“Barz, don’t stay up, Trotz needs us first thing in the morning.” he looks back, reminding Mat who was already standing in front of his door, “Yeah. Sure.” he replies shortly with a tired voice.
You and Anthony bid your own goodnights whilst Mat mutters a quiet “Night.” when you nodded his way, clearly not enjoying any of the first awkward encounters he’s yet to have with you. Seven days is quite a reasonable time for your anger to dissipate, a short yet seemingly long period of time that’s just enough to kill off whatever guilt Mat had initially felt before you parted ways.
𖥸
“Alright, I’m off.” Tito casually declares, putting on his watch. “There’s food in the fridge, and tell Mat to go easy on my beers.” he gives you a knowing look as he bends down to give you a kiss on the cheek.
Tito had been seeing some mystery girl for quite some time now. He hasn’t told you anything spicy in particular but by the looks of it, you could already tell that she has him towed.
“Good luck, loverboy.” you say, swatting his hand away and pushing him out to the door. The two of you cringe at what you said, sharing one last laugh before you watch him disappear out into the hallway.
The apartment was cramped the whole day because Anthony and Mat had the day off. Tito had plans for the night, obviously. As per you, you had plans lounging in the living room, switching through channels in the hopes of stumbling on a show that isn’t half as bad than the rest.
Thankfully, a Sandra Bullock film was on HBO.
The Proposal, to be exact.
You decide to dive in the film with a cold bottle of beer on your hand. There was no way you’d be washing down the effects of a naked Ryan Reynolds with a glass of water. You haven’t gone mad.
The film was already at the part where Sandra was proposing to Ryan when you hear Mathew’s door open. You haven’t talked since the night they came back home other than the small nods you exchange upon passing by each other. All of which are mind-numbing and impossible to swallow. The awkwardness has not dissipated completely unlike what you presumed. You were just grateful Tito was always around that you didn’t need to be alone together.
Alarmed by another impending awkward encounter, you clear your throat and turn up the volume a little to remain focused on the film, investing your sole attention to it even if you have seen the movie countless times.
Mathew, in his sweats and a gray shirt on, carefully makes his way out the hallway and into the common area after snatching a glass of water from the kitchen. You see him move further into the room but you make sure that he knows you weren’t paying attention. You take that he must’ve been thirsty and needed a drink but you don’t see him move further in the corner of your eye like he was making his way back in his room. It almost seemed like he was actually waiting for you to look his way.
Hesitantly, you follow your gut feel and see him standing a few feet away from you. “Yes?” you ask when you catch him staring.
Mat blinks a few times, “Hi.” he takes a deep breath, trying to shake off the awkwardness circling the two of you.
When the only thing he gets from you is a tight lipped smile, he shakes his head and proceeds to walk where you were seated.
“Mind if I join you?” he asks, his voice deep and clear enough to send your mind elsewhere.
Regardless, you contain yourself and return a polite smile, “No. Not at all.”
“So, what are we watching?” he sits once you gestured onto the other end of the couch.
“The Proposal.” you answer before throwing a question yourself, “Aren’t you supposed to be resting now?” you shake your head, absentmindedly chuckling. Not intending to make him feel that you’ve forgotten about what he’d done weeks ago.
“I couldn’t sleep.” he props his back and lets himself sink in the cloud couch, his legs spread wide eating up most of the space left for the two of you to share. “Oh. I only like him when he’s Deadpool” he points out, cringing at how you were watching another one of your romantic comedy films.
You roll your eyes, admiring how he’s trying to break the tension between the two of you despite his unsolicited sentiments, “I like it when we were on not-speaking terms.”
Mat mocks you for a while but decides to watch the movie so you let him be and get back to the film, letting a giggle slip every now and then. Something you thought Mat wouldn’t notice.
Watching the remainder of the film went with ease. ‘Course, Mat would steal a few glances here and there (ones he thought had gone unnoticed), but overall the quietude between the two of you was bearable. Almost like it was just two buddies hanging out.
Although, not long after, your eyes were torn away from the huge flat screen when Mat spoke, “By the way,” he looks at you and calls your attention.
Puzzled, you watch him take something from his pocket, “Here.”
Once you see what he has in his hands your heart froze. Mat carefully hands you the cloth with an apologetic smile; his eyes soft with a hint of hope as he watches your reaction.
“What– How?” you ask in bewilderment, failing to comprehend how he was able to fix the handkerchief. It looked the same as before. All of its details were in place, it was good as new. You were holding Nana’s handkerchief.
Mathew didn’t bother to dance around and just offered you a quiet chuckle, evidently enjoying the wide smile painted on your lips. “Don’t worry about it. I just wanted to say that I’m sorry.” he apologizes, shielding you from all the strings he had to pull just to get that cloth fixed up.
You hold the smooth and delicate piece in your hands as you look at Mat, letting your feelings get a better hold of you, “Thank you.” you say, unknowingly reaching out, your arms wrapped around his neck as you give him a quick peck on the cheek.
Mathew’s hand instinctively finds your back to support you, startling himself in the process. Nonetheless, the thought was easily shrugged off by how close your faces were, your smiles fading once you meet each other’s gaze. You feel the same rush you felt the night you and Mat got involved for the first time. Your hand was placed rather endearingly on his cheek, your faces, just like all the other times, unreasonably close to each other. Mat then clears his throat and only looks you in the eye.
Afraid that the innocent hug would lead to something more, perhaps another mistake to be jotted down on the board, you breathe a laugh and break away, “Uh, thanks again. It really means a lot.”
Mat must’ve sensed that you were being cautious so he puts his guards up and returns a chuckle, “So… we good?” he asks, reaching out a hand your way.
Your fingers slide into his, gliding its way perfectly, your hands fitted well with his despite the obvious difference in proportion. His grip tightens in the most comfortable way possible.
A smile breaks off his lips once he hears you answer, “We’re good.”
“I should probably get some sleep.” Mat tells you the moment you pull your hand away.
“Are you gonna be okay here?” he adds.
You looked at him, not wanting him to be obligated to keep you company, “Oh, yeah. I’m a big girl.” you say, making Mathew grin, shaking his head.
“Alright. I’ll be in my room if you need anything.”
Not picking up on whatever sloppy insinuation Mat has thrown out carelessly into thin air, he hears a simple “Mkay.”
Thus far, letting him know that his subtle invitation was far from being RSVP’d.
𖥸
“You’ll be in your room?” Mat scoffs, staring at the ceiling while he lays on his bed, “The fuck was that, Mat?” he scolds himself for always coming up with the worst things to say.
Mathew would be lying if he’d say he hasn’t thought about you (or doing you) for the past week of not being around home. But he definitely wouldn’t deny that the roadie kind of made things easier for him because then he didn’t have to stomach seeing you walk around the flat looking like the hot piece of ass that you were in his eyes.
Mat knows he needs to pull his shit together. He wasn’t some 13 year-old boy raging with hormones. He needs to control himself around you and he could only do that once he learns how to push this whole thing between the two of you behind him.
What happened with you and Mathew shouldn’t have happened at all. It was just a moment of weakness, and he hated that he’d let his dick (and apparently, him being one) ruin the relationship he once had with you.
Before that night, seeing you do yoga and work out on the terrace was just seeing you drenched in sweat, and in your work out clothes looking icky and constipated. Something he’ll later on tease you about and he’ll end up catching the water bottle you throw in his face. But now, after all that fucking, seeing you sweaty and all worked out in the same yoga pants is just like walking into a porn commercial. Like the ones they show before the actual porn. In fact, he doesn’t even have to watch any of it. Tents and Boners were pretty much sponsored by you from then on. It’s sick, and he knows it.
However, the tension he feels with you is palpable that he’s even certain that you feel it too. But how can he be wrong? He sees how your eyes blink a few times when he’s fresh out the shower, he sees you follow his trance when you thought he wasn’t paying attention, and you never fail to slide him shadowed hints with every touch you “accidentally” pass at him. The kind that’s short enough to remain innocent but not so much as to keep him at bay. Mat hated everything about it. He hated that he wanted you– and he hated that he thinks he might be right about you wanting him too.
All that self-loathing aside, did he regret it?
That was one of the things he feels bad about. Because as much as he wants to lie and push it aside, he didn’t regret any of it. He didn’t like you that way and just thought about you sexually but he just wishes that you could push past this and just be friends. He was still sexually attracted to you, yes. But he knows he’d eventually get over it and be back on his game. That is if he can ever find someone who’d be as good as how you were the last three times you’ve let him be with you because it would really help him a lot if he could stop picturing your mouth getting stretched by his cock every time he hops into the shower.
Mat was pulled from his thoughts when he heard a knock on his door. The shy banging sound made his heart beat rapidly in an instant, knowing full well that the two of you were alone in the house and that Tito was, in no way, going to be home for another hour or two.
A faint knock follows the first one before he gets to the door.
“Hi.” you greet him, a moment unfolding like it was déjà-vu.
“Hi.”
“Did I wake you?” you sheepishly ask, your hands balled into fists before eventually settling down to hug your own build, unsure of where to put your hands exactly.
Mat quickly shakes his head, “No. I couldn’t sleep myself.”
You offer him a smile, acknowledging how he’s been nothing but good to you ever since they got home. Of course you wanted to get your hands on him being that you were completely dry and horny ever since you’ve ignored him completely, but you haven’t gone mad and you weren’t a complete neanderthal. You can keep your hands to yourself and act like a decent human being.
“I’m sorry for making things weird between us.” you say, your eyes heavy with guilt. “But I’m only apologizing for being so unreasonable for the last couple of weeks.” you reiterated.
To which he only answers with, “You shouldn’t be. You have every right to be unreasonable– and I know that I’ve been a giant prick that day. It’s what I deserve.” he bites his lower lip, scratching his brow as he continues, “That’s why if there’s someone who owes someone an apology, it should be me. What I did was pretty crappy, so… I’m sorry.”
Like all the other times, Mathew towers over you wearing the same confidence he does when you’re around. Your bodies were reasonably apart from each other but close enough to mean something else if someone had walked by. Mathew was still in his room while you were out in the hallway, separated by the thin line made by the door frame.
You feel Mat’s steady breathing and everything went still. He looks down at you, pretty eyes drowning yours. His messed up bed hair ridiculously makes up for how dressed down he was. No, actually, he looks fine even when he is. And all of that sight instantly makes your throat dry as you feel something curl in your belly, enough to make your hands sweaty as the thought of tasting his lips again cruised your mind entirely.
Mathew was no stranger to the said feeling either. He watched you punish him more at how plump and inviting your lips were. Or how your hand brushed on your clothes as you remain uncomposed under his gaze.
Mat was becoming accustomed to how the two of you meet. Same time, same place, only this time, a different hallway. He steps further and crosses the line that divides the two of you, making you take a deep breath as his scent floors every nerve in your body. Waking what has been awake ever since that moment you shared back in the living room even more.
“Yeah, okay.” you gather yourself, “I– I should probably head back.”
Just by how his shoulders dropped, you knew you had said the wrong thing. And you hated that you did. Mat clears his voice and swallows, breaking off his gaze, “You probably should.”
“Good night, Mat.” you smile, trying to regain yourself.
“Good night.” he replies as he watches you turn your back before finally closing the door behind him.
Frustrated for he was already starting to feel things more than just being “sorry”, Mat leans against the door and runs a hand through his hair. He takes a deep breath and tries to get you out of his head.
He was about to walk away from the door and sleep off his frustration when he hears your faint footsteps on the other side of the door. He rests his head back on the wooden surface and sighs, “You’re still out there, aren’t you?”
There was a total silence for a moment, devoid of the knowledge of how you had your fist, ready to knock yet again, suspended in mid-air.
Mathew hears you deny sheepishly, “No.”
You hear him let out a small laugh, knowing that he was trying to contain himself.
The door sprung open again, and for a second you thought how what you’re about to walk into will start another mess for you and Mathew. But how could you possibly think about it that way when you have nothing else but this man standing at the other end?
A friend that took no seconds to waste as he finally lets his thirst and perhaps foolishness, get the better hold of him once he cages your heated face in his hands, crashing into your lips as fast as he’d taken you to his end of that thin gray line that has once irkingly parted him from you. A gray line you’re both willing to cross if that meant sharing another night in between halls and thin walls.

Adding to the family
Wanda x Natasha x Reader
Description: Wanda and you have been in a steady relationship, what happens when you add a special someone to it???
Notes: Wow! I can’t believe the amount of people on here who actually like my writing! It’s nice to know that you guys out there are enjoying it! Anyways have fun with this one!!
Wanda, sweet loving Wanda, was sent on a mission. Leaving you all alone with no one to snuggle with at night and no one to wake up to in the morning.
She didn’t want to leave you. She tried to convince Cap that they didn’t need her for the mission, but it didn't work and she got sent anyway.
Before she left Wanda and you had talked about your relationship. Not anything bad. At first you talked about where it was going. But then, somehow, the subject of Natasha came up.
“Do you like her,” Wanda asks you. You look into her eyes and see something, not sadness, but something else that you can’t describe.
“What do you mean ‘do I like her’” you ask with concern.
“I mean do you like-like her? I've seen the way you look at her baby.” You start to cry worried that she might leave you. Sure you like-like Nat, but you love Wanda more than anything and don’t want to lose her.
“Baby, it’s okay,” she says as she cups your face and wipes your tears away, “I’m not mad baby, I like her too” Wanda says and your eyes go wide.
“You do?” You ask.
“Yes baby”
“like , like-like her?”
“Yes baby” Wanda chuckles at your shocked look.
“Wait…” you say thoughtfully.
“If you like-like her and I like-like her and she like-likes both of us..” Your eyes go wide with excitement in realization. You look up at Wanda to make sure she’s on board with your thinking.
“Then maybe she can join our relationship,” Wanda finishes your sentence.
“Do you want that though, like truly want that?” You ask very seriously, ready to drop the subject if she says no.
“I would like that. What about you, how do you feel about it?” Wanda asks seriously too.
“I like it too,” you say, “but you’ll always be my-my…” You try to think of the right words.
“Same,” Wanda says, knowing what you meant. You smile up at her and hug her.
That was the conversation you had with her 2 days before her mission. Now it was the first day without her. It was about bedtime and you were scared. This is the first time in about 2 months that you are going to have to sleep without her.
Before you started sleeping with her you’d have nightmares, not every night but about every other. They stopped when you started sleeping with Wanda and you’ve been nightmare free ever since.
You get in bed and you realize just how empty it is without her. You start to cry knowing that she’s going to be gone for 3 days and 3 nights.
You cry yourself to sleep holding Bunny, your stuffed koala that Nat gave you, close to your chest.
You find yourself in a fight. You and Wanda are fighting Ultron. You use your combat skills to keep him distracted, while Wanda used her powers to rip out his mechanic heart. He fell to the ground, and Wanda came over to hug you.
Before she could reach you, you saw Ultrons hand lift up. He shoots an energy beam at Wanda’s back. You scream to warn her but no sound comes out.
You watch as she falls to the ground. The life in her eyes is gone as there’s a gaping hole in her body. You rush over to her.
“NO NO NO PLEASE!!!!!!” You scream at her.
“DON’T GO!!!” You say sobbing for her. She doesn’t move.
“MAMA!!!!!” You scream still crying. You hear your name being called and feel yourself being shaken.
You wake up drenched in sweat, breathing heavily, and little. You realise you can’t move because you are being held by someone.
“You’re okay I’ve got you, you’re okay,” You recognize the voice instantly. It’s Natasha. You finally realize where you are. In your bedroom, and Wanda isn’t here she’s on a mission. You start to cry afraid that the dream might have been real.
“It’s okay it was just a dream”
“Ma-Mama ah-alive?” You ask her with a shaky voice. Natasha instantly realizes that the dream must’ve made you go into your little state.
“Yes honey, your mama is still alive” Nat says, although you still worry that maybe she isn’t. Nat sees the worry in your face.
“Do you want to facetime her baby?” She asks you. You nod your head needing to make sure she was still alive.
“Okay,” Nat says as she lets go of you. You start to cry again when she pulls away.
“Mommy don’t go” You say scared that she’s gonna leave. Natasha is taken back for a moment at what you call her.
“I’m not going anywhere baby,” She says as she wipes the new tears off your face. Nat scoots back so her back is against the headboard. She pats the space in between her legs and you sit in front of her with your back to her chest. You lay your head against her chest and she wraps her arms around your front. She takes her phone and facetimes Wanda. It rings twice before she picks up.
“Hi baby,” she says when she sees you, and then she frowns seeing that you had been crying.
“baby girl what’s wrong?” She asks, worry in her voice.
“Bad dream mama,” You say quietly.
“Oh baby. Do you want to talk about it?” You start to cry again remembering the dream you had. Nat holds you tighter.
“W-we were fighting Ultron and he used his energy beam to kill you. An I twied to warn y-you b-but you died, you died mama, an I couldn’t, I couldn’t…” You tried to get out your sentence but you couldn’t.
“Oh baby girl,” Mama coos.
“It’s okay baby, mamas still alive, I’m right here baby,” Mama says to you trying to get you to calm down. It takes a while but eventually you calm down after many ‘it’s okays’ and ‘im right heres’. Wanda has to go but she told you that she would be okay.
“I will fight for you baby girl, no matter what,” She said to you before you said goodbye.
You are exhausted and tired. But you don’t want to be alone.
“Mommy?” You ask.
“Yes baby?”
“Will yous stay wit me?”
“I wasn’t planning to leave you alone tonight baby,” Nat says. You look up at her lovingly. Tasha picks up the covers for you to get under. When you do she gets off the bed, you whine tugging at her arm.
“What baby?”
“You said yous stay wit me,” you say pouting.
“I am baby, I am gonna sleep on the chair,” she says pointing to a relatively small chair in the conner of your room. You shake your head.
“No want you here,” you say pointing to the empty space next to you. Nat bites her lip thinking it through. Finally she gets under the covers with you. You instantly get as close as you can to her and hide your face in her neck.
Nat hesitantly wraps her arms around you. She feels you relax into her and she feels like this is right where she is supposed to be. She waits for you to fall asleep.
“I love you,” She says before she falls into sleep.
When you wake up you’re no longer little. You feel someone surrounding you. You open your eyes and you see red hair, Tasha. It all comes back to you at once, the dream, the name, the facetime. Oh no.
If you remember correctly you had called her ‘mommy’. Oh no oh no. You only talked about it with Wanda, you didn’t make any official plans.
What if she didn’t want to go through with it, what if she changed her mind. What if she sees you with Tasha right now, what if she’s mad. What if she leaves you.
As if on cue your bedroom door opens to reveal the one and only Wanda Maximoff. Oh f***.
Should you jump out of bed, what if you wake Nat? You decide that the best thing you can do is pretend like you are sleeping, then wake up and act confused. You close your eyes and relax your face.
You hear Wanda doing something, probably putting her mission stuff away. Then to your surprise you feel the covers being pulled back and the bed dip down to your empty side. You feel Wanda wrap her arms around you and feel her head on your chest.
You feel Nat move on your side, she must be a light sleeper.
“Morning,” you hear Wanda say you can feel her smile against your skin.
“Hey, your home early,” she was early. In fact she was only gone for a day when she should've been gone for 3.
“Yeah I know, but after last night I had to come home,” Wanda whispers back, clearly talking about you.
“I’m glad you’re back,” you can hear Natasha’s smile as she says it. Then you hear something you would have never expected. Kissing, lips on lips.
Your eyes fly open to see Wanda's hand tangled up in Natasha's hair, their lips moving together. They don’t notice you have your eyes open as you're too shocked at the moment to say anything.
Natasha is the first one to pull away. Wanda and her look down at you surprised to see you awake. They laugh because your mouth is practically touching the floor and your eyes are as big as saucers.
“Did you just- while I was- did you actually just- but-but when, how… what???” You blabber out. Wanda just smiles and kisses you with the same lips that she just was kissing Nat with.
“And you just- with the same- okay someone better explain,” you say.
“Well baby after you went to sleep Nat and I texted for a while, I told her about our talk we had and how we’d like to have her join our relationship”
“And you said yes,” you say to yourself.
“And I said yes,” Nat confirms.
“I hope you're not mad baby, you still want this right?” Wanda asks you.
“Well yeah I still want it, but I mean you gave me a heart attack when you came in. And when I saw you kissing Tasha I think I died for a moment,” Natasha and Wanda laugh.
“So it’s official, like in both?” You ask.
“Yes baby it’s official, in both,” you suddenly feel so happy you surge up to Natasha and kiss her. Her lips are so soft, and she’s gentle when she kisses you. You pull back with a huge smile on your face.
“Wow. You are a great kisser, way better than Wanda,” you say with a giggle.
“Hey!” Wanda says as she slaps your shoulder playfully. Natasha just blushes shaking her head. You yawn still tired as it’s only 6:15 a.m.
“You still tired baby girl?” Wanda asks you, tired herself after the long ride home.
You nod your head, slipping into your little state when you hear her call you that.
“Can you and mommy cuddle me?” you ask mama, picking up Bunny and holding her to your chest.
“Of course baby,” Wanda says as you lay back down. Natasha is on one side of you and Wanda is on the other. You snuggle into Nat wrapping your arms around her. Your front to mommy’s front and your back to mama’s front.
You feel mama wrap her arm around your waist and feel mommy’s hand on your hip. Feeling safe and loved you drift off into a peaceful sleep. Mama and mommy following you right after you.

It had been two months since I had last seen him. Two whole months since he had set foot in our home; two whole months since he said goodbye to leave for tour. The home that we shared had began to inhabit a sense of eeriness, some nights the walls began to feel as if they were closing in on me, trapping me from any interaction with the outside world, as if to hold me hostage by my own insanity, although other nights the space felt extremely large, almost too big for one person to be able to waste their nights alone in, encapsulating my mind in a constant conflict of obstructive thoughts, forcing me to overthink every tiny detail that was conveyed on the pale stained walls, the wooden floorboards, the arrangement of the furniture, resulting in many a time of me moving around heavy tables and chairs until the image of the room settled my mind’s anxiety. Allowing distance to get in the lines of mine and Damon’s relationship, it was simply uncanny that I was going to miss him; he was the carcass that kept me sane, the being that granted me peace in myself, ease on my mind to prevent such mania from enrapturing my brain, the person that engulfed me into a stupor of adoration and affection that one could never understand the authentic strength until felt - what some perceive as paramour, true love, something so overstimulating that once separated such thing desperation beguiles you to surround yourself with, only a mere sensation of emptiness is all that is felt inside, as if your limbs are damaged, your insides constantly in a state of sickness that you are convinced you’re in need of some form of professional assistance, but it is simply the alchemy, the poison of the apprehension that captivates you from the estrangement from your significant other. Though that wasn’t to say that wasn’t proud of Damon; I embraced fondness and admiration for everything that he did and was so dedicated in doing, his talent and immense knowledge for the art form that speaks to you demonstrated his ability to move millions of people, uniting as one in concerts, all touched from the same, simple string of melodies, proving his true gift and genius that is inside his brain.
I tried to pry my thoughts away from the excitement that had been seeping into my veins from the fact that he was returning home today, in an attempt to focus my mind on whatever had been showing on the television, but there was no use. To be cradled in his arms was all that I had longed, the thought clouding my brain almost every single night that I had thrown my body onto the linen sheets, trying to wrap my body around the duvet to replicate the specific warmth that had enveloped my body when in his arms, his body completely dominating mine, his hands running through my hair gently, apologising with a kiss on the top of my head when he accidentally pulled too roughly, my face buried in his chest as a blush would suddenly creep onto my cheeks, our embrace fulfilling me with a nest of blooming butterflies in my body, a poignant sensation of nervousness and reverence for the man that had me cooped up in his arms, the same feelings that would embody you whilst walking past your first crush during primary school, accidentally brushing your hands against one another’s, sending your mind into overdrive as if to think that the person was the love of your life. Such emotions never left, and I doubted that they ever would; supposing that is true love, he could make me feel like a little girl squealing over her teenage idol because of how perfect he was, just from being himself.
“I’m home, love,” I heard a voice call out in the hallway, accompanied by the soft slam of the front door, the tone of voice lacing a certain amount of raspiness, perhaps from a cigarette that had just been inhaled. My head instantly turned to the door of the living room, eyes settling upon the sight of Damon, who had a small grin curved on his lips, his gaze captured with joy and desire, perhaps from gratification towards the understanding that the tour had finally ended, as well as the fact that he was able to finally see me once again - my expression equally reciprocating his happiness. Instantly jumping from my seat on the couch, I rushed over to him as I threw my arms around him, resting my ear against his chest, listening to the soft pattern of his heartbeat. As usual, his arms wrapped around my figure, tightly embracing my body, the swarm of butterflies breaking out of their cocoons, my limbs growing weak from the recognisable thrill of affection that I had desired for far too long, and had sadly not received. Feeling his lips grazing against the top of my head made my mind go fuzzy, my cheeks flushing a heat that made me feel as if I was under the beating warmth of the sun during the summer months. This is what he does to me. “How’ve you been darling? I see you’ve rearranged the place, again.” he mumbled into my head of hair, my mind still relishing in the pleasure of being in his arms again.
“I’ve missed you,” I replied, reluctantly pulling my arms away from the embrace, in order to gawk at him. A gentle chuckle rumbled from his throat, though his features accentuated pity, understanding how I must’ve felt being away from him for so long. Lightly taking hold of one of his hands, I dragged his arm, guiding him to the sofa, where both of us sat next to each other. “You were gone for so long!”
“I know love, I’ve missed you so much,” he replied, squeezing my hand in reassurance. “At least I’m not gone for any longer though.” he added, his lips curving slightly as I nodded, a similar grin planted on my lips.
“How was the tour then?” I asked, pulling his arm to wrap it around my shoulders, my body already aching for more attachment to him. “The videos I’ve seen online made it look very good.”
“It was great, honestly. Loved every bit of it.” he replied, the grip on my shoulder tightening as he attempted to haul me closer to him. Humming in agreement, I placed my head on his shoulder, cradling the moment we shared together, the moment that I had imagined and adorned each and every night he was absent, cherishing every single time that he was able to be in my presence. I depended on him greatly, as did he, and though that may be a toxic strand which can only result in turmoil; our appreciation for one another held such poise that it would draw us closer together each and every time we had conjoined together after months of being separated. “I’ve actually got something to show you.” he added, shifting from our hug and slowly stepping to his feet, taking his hand in mine, his soft but coarse palms gripping onto mine ever so slightly, urging me to stand up too. “Come with me.”
Following him closely, we headed towards his studio. I had forgotten the last time that I had set foot in it; usually I would leave Damon to work on his craft alone, since having me prance around messing with all sorts of instruments and controls wasn’t going to provide much assistance. As well as that, sitting in the room, knowing that he was away and would be for many days on, would only make me yearn for his presence more, which is the last of what I would need when not being able to fall asleep. Though whenever he would call me into the room, he would always show me the most beautifully crafted symphony, in which he would perform it so effortlessly, as if it was simply created from the top of his head at that moment. Talent like his was so scarce; it would only prove to me that it’s something you are gifted with at birth, like an extremely high intelligence quotient - he always had ideas running through his mind, melodies that would be formed from a simple tap of the table in front of him. It was a wonder in the fact that he seemingly never got burned out with creating music, it was evidently his passion, and it touched me that he would constantly ask me for my opinion on his music, as it always resonated with him, always held such importance.
When we walked inside the studio, I followed him to the grand piano that was standing by the corner of the room. I kept my body upright, behind him, as he pulled out the black stool underneath, moving it back slightly in order for him to sit on it. “Over the tour, I had some free time, so I wrote this song, it’s called Particles,” he began, his voice quiet, as if it were intertwined with a certain anxiousness about what he was about to perform. “It’s still a work in progress, but I wanted to know what you thought of it.”
As I admired his fingers softly grazing the elegant, pale keys of the piano, the melody that in which played forth me instantaneously sufficed me in a trance, bewilderment encompassing my my mind as I listened to the sounds of the alluring chords echo throughout the room, bounce off the walls, the waves of noise crafting mountainous regions of goosebumps to prickle on the bare skin exposed from my forearms. Sculpted with such elegance and formality, my mouth fell agape as he played with such ease - in that significant moment, I was subdued to his music, hypnotised into his magnificence; I could do nothing, absolutely nothing, except admire the grace that fell from his lips once he started singing. As I allowed my gaze to drift onto his face, I gawked at his demeanour, his eyes almost screwed shut, his face almost frozen in place as his body rocked back and forth to the melody that was omitted from the piano. Every word, every string of lines carried a lugubrious essence to it, a tone laced with such beautification; obvious that there were deeper implications behind said lyrics. Each line that escaped his throat exemplified the nature of what earnest fervour, authentic devotion and expertise can embody. Such melody, paired with his voice embodied with pure ethereality, as if I was being greeted by a herd of the most quaint angels, welcoming my soul into the seven heavens. A beam crawled onto my lips, my heart thumping at a million miles per hour from the amount of love I carried in my body for the man in front of me.
Once the song ended, a moment was held in the atmosphere of mere silence, as if to take in all that was felt, all that had vibrated through the sound waves and blessed my ears. Shifting his body so he could connect eyes with me, a gentle, welcoming smile tugged on his lips. “That’s for you.”

Red Haired Boy
Word Count: 3.6k (sorry got carried away)
Fred Weasley x Fem Reader
Warnings: PTSD, mentions of death (happy ending tho), panic attack, graphic violence at parts, mentions of blood, cursing (maybe?), tell me if I need to add anything
Y/N= Your Name L/N= Your Last Name Y/H= Your House Y/N/N= Your nickname
I get shoved sideways by a red haired boy and run into the wall. I let out a small gasp feeling my shoulder run into a sharp brick. I hold the cut with tears in my eyes. I see the boy turn around and run back worried. "Bloody hell! I'm so so sorry!" He tells me and I shake my head firmly. "It's alright." I mumble trying to make it seem like I'm not crying. "No it's not, you're bleeding!" He tells me and I see another boy run and stop seeing us. "Fred! He's on my tail!" He tells him tugging his arm. "Go on then! I need to handle something!" He tells him angrily getting his arm free. "Whatever..." The other boy mutters. "Does it hurt?" He asks and I shake my head shyly. "No... I'm fine. Really."
"WEASLEY!" I hear and see its our groundskeeper. "I'm going to enjoy this one..." He mutters to himself as he pulls the boy by his arm harshly. I look at him and he looks sad but smiles weakly at me. "AH MY ARM. OH IT HURTS!" I say not thinking. "What?!" He asks and I clutch my arm. "AH HELP HELP!" I yelp and he drops Fred, as soon as he's freed I silently tell him to run and he smiles at me. He runs and Filch is still distracted by my wailing. I stand straight and smile. "Its gone now. I think I just need to get patched up." I say calmly, walking to the infirmary.
"What do you mean?" I hear as I get wrapped up by Madam Pomfrey. "It was bloody amazing. She started screaming her arm hurt and let me run off!" A nearly identical voice replies. "Well good for her but karma must've came to bite you." The voice replies. "Yeah... But- No way! It's her!" He says and I look up to see the boy I helped earlier. "Hey- What happened!?" I ask seeing his eye covered in blood. "When he was running he was distracted and fell face first into a statue, cut his eyebrow pretty good." His identical brother tells me. "Oh no!" I say and he walks over and Madam Pomfrey groans.
"Sit there, I'll be back in a moment... Foolish boy..." She mutters and he hops up next to me. "Fred Weasley." He introduces and I smile shyly, shaking his hand. "Y/n, Y/n L/n..."
"I wanted to say thank you, for not only saving me but I also wanted to say thank you for saving me despite me hurting you." He tells me shyly and I smile. "My pleasure."
***
I wake up to my boyfriend kissing my shoulder as I sleepily wake up. "Hi baby..." I whisper groggily. "Hi darling..." He smiles at me and I notice he's kissing my scar from how we met. He places his cheek against mine as I wrap his arms around me. "Whatcha thinking about?" I ask and he sighs. "I never payed you back for saving me the day you got this..." He tells me and I laugh. "How bout..." I say pushing him lightly so I'm on top. "Five minutes, whenever I choose to use it, you have to do whatever I want." I whisper and he smiles cheekily. "Yes ma'am..." He tells me and I chuckles. "Yay that one day I will be doing no dishes." I tell him and he scoffs. "I was thinking something more sexual but ok." He tells me and I kiss his nose.
***
I look around frantically for my loved ones, happy I am a half witch so my family isn't here, blood related though. I look for the Weasley Family trying to see through the falling dust and rubble. I see a messy ginger hair and get excited. I limp over as quickly and see its not my Weasley but Percy. He's screaming for help. I ignore the pain coursing through me and run the best I can.
He's digging through rubble and I freeze in fear. "W-who is that?" I ask seeing a hand underneath it all. "JUST HELP!" He screams and I rush over moving each piece of rubble. I finally help drag the body out. I lay him on me to support his head and moves his hair from his eyes. "Freddie?" I ask softly and he looks at me smiling. "Hey..." He barely says and he gasps slightly for air. "Hey, stay awake for me... Percy get help, he's bleeding a lot..." I cry and he runs. I feel Fred's weak and cold hand wrap around mine. "I hoped you were in my last moments ya know?" He tells me smiling, tears brimming in his eyes.
"Well let that be another day. Freddie you are going to stay alive you idiot." I tell him chuckling through my worry, combing his hair lightly. "I want you to be happy. Don't wait for me to come back. Find someone who makes you happy. Alright?" He asks and I scoff. "I would if you were dying. But you aren't." I sob and he holds my hand. "You'll be ok..." He whispers closing his eyes but I grab his head shaking my own. "Hey remember the time we met?" I ask smiling at him and he nods smiling. "You cut my shoulder so deep and I saved you minutes later, remember that?"  I ask and he scoffs leaning his head back weakly. "Didn't think my last moments would be getting guilt tripped." He tells me and gasps at a pain in his side. "Well because of that you told me you would give me five minutes of anything I wanted. I want to have five minutes, after this war, dancing with you. You understand? I want to get married and dance for five minutes." I demand and he chuckles, then cringes at the pain.
Wizards swarm us and help him onto a stretcher as we finally let go of each other's hands. People help me up saying I need to heal my injuries. I keep my eyes on him scared..
***
Three months.
Three fucking months and nothing is better. They said it would be better by now. But I still miss him, miss my fiancé. He died shortly after I saw him. His dead body being the only thing on my mind every single day. Today I need to collect his belongings so I throw myself out of bed sadly. I walk out to the room to the empty, quiet, kitchen. I look for my mug and think George must have put it away when he was cleaning. The twin of my passed fiancé constantly stops by to help around the house, he says it helps pass the time.
I climb on the ladder and see he just put it far back in the shelf. I look right above it and look at it shocked. It's Fred's mug.
I hold it and tear up. "Why couldn't you stay? You promised you would stay! You promised! Wh-why did I have to loose you?!" I scream and fall to my knees feeling my heart crumble. "You promised..." I whisper against the mug. I put it down and feel the ground rumble from the nearby train. I ignore it until it makes my mug fall from the counter and drop on Fred's. "No... No no no no no..." I sob picking up the pieces.
George's POV:
I walk into the building to see Y/n yelling at the landlord angrily. "NO YOU CALM DOWN GARRETT! THAT BLOODY TRAIN BROKE MY FIANCE'S MUG! HE FOUGHT IN A WAR YOU WOULD NEVER IMAGINE! HIS MUG IS IRREPLACEABLE! HE FOUGHT DEATHEATERS! DID YOU FIGHT DEATHEATERS GARRETT?! NO! SO YOU WILL GET THAT BLOODY BLOODY TRAIN TO STOP OR PUT A DAMN SPELL ON THIS BUILDING SO I DON'T HAVE TO THINK I AM ON A CRUISE EVERYTIME IT PASSES!" She yells at him holding a bag to her chest, tears streaming down her face. I grab her arms holding them to her chest as she continues to yell at him. "Sorry mate its just a horrible day." I explain as I wrestle her into the lift. "Y/N!" I yell at her and she sobs clutching the bag. "All I had left George! I didn't even know I had it! And it was gone just like he's gone! It was practically a reenactment!" She cries and I hold her close. I kiss the top of her head knowingly.
"He's gone!" She sobs and I nod not wanting to add to it. As much as I miss Fred, she misses him more. She has had everyone in her life leave her and he was all she had besides our family but we weren't even close to him. She trusted him with her life and it was ripped away so quickly. Her love for him was more than a man could describe.
"Let's get you washed up..." I whisper and she nods silently.
***
Fred's POV:
I limp inside the home I once knew and look for my mother, brother, anyone. I can barely see through my bloody hair that has overgrown. I climb the stairs harshly noting the pain in my ribs. I open my room and everything is empty on my side. I walk over to George's bed and nothing. "Mum?" I barely croak. I keep searching ignoring the pain.
I hear a teacup fall and break behind me, I whip around to see my mother as pale as possible. "George? What's wrong?!" She asks and I try to smirk. "Mum wrong twin, but before I yell at you about that I need to find- well myself..." I say drawing my wand. "What? George are you alright? Please don't tell me my boy is gone too." She whimpers. "Mum, where have you last seen me, or well Fred?" I ask and she walks over, tears filling her eyes. "Georgie... Fred died. You remember don't you?" She whispers, combing my hair, I nearly relax at the sensation, haven't been able to see my mother in a year. Only being tortured.
"Mum? I died?" I ask and she sobs, holding me. "C'mon Georgie! Don't tell me we have to go back to St. Mungo's!" She sobs into my chest. "What?! George went to St. Mungo's?!" I ask getting worried. "Oh Godric... Georgie! Y/n! She snapped! Please stop this!" She cries and I freeze. "What do you mean mum?" I ask and she cries more. "You know what happened!" She clutches my shirt tightly. "Mum!" I say grabbing her wrists. "It. Is. Fred. I have been tortured for a year. I need to go find Georgie and Y/n. Where's my girl?" I ask getting worried. She places a hand on my cheek and looks at me carefully. "Freddie?" She asks and I nod, cupping her hand. "Yes mum. Freddie. Can you heal me up and show me where my girl and twin is? I haven't seen them in so long, I miss them." I ask and she smiles. "ARTHUR COME HERE!" She yells as she helps me to the den.
***
I walk into George's apartment with him and my parents slowly. "Why's she living here?" I ask and George sighs. "Please be calm alright?" He asks and I nod. He unlocks the door and looks around. "Y/n?" He calls and sighs. "Don't know why I try anymore..." He whispers mostly to himself. "Please show her slowly George. We can't have her getting worse." My mum tells him and he nods.
I walk into a room across from his and see her laying on her bed. "Hey Y/n! Got you a surprise..." George says and points to the corner. "Let me get her used to seein me first." He whispers and I look at him confused. She turns around and smiles at him silently. "Still no talking?" He asks and she tears up. "It's alright. Can you trust me real quick?" He asks and she nods confused. My heart breaks seeing her, she looks broken.
"C'mere Fred..." He tells me and she whips her head around. I walk over and she tears up. "No..." She whispers and I back away. "Hey Lovey..." I whisper. "You're dead." she tells me and I chuckle. "Turns out. A lot of people think that..." I joke and she walks over. She pokes my chest and I poke her shoulder playfully. "What was that for?" I ask joking and she says nothing but wrap her arm around me.
"Hey Y/n/n, want some tea and we can explain?" George asks and she nods. "Alright me and Fred-" He begins but she shakes her head, holding me tighter like a toddler with a teddy. "I want Fred to stay." She says and I kiss her head. "Y/n, you need to change." He tells her and she grips on my shirt. "I want Fred to stay." She repeats and he sighs. "George. She can just change while I'm turned around. I don't think she'll let me leave, right lovey?" I ask and she nods, nuzzling her face into my shirt. "He'll leave again." She states and I kneel. "Never again. I promise." I tell her and she starts to cry. "You said that." She tells me and my heart breaks. "I know, but this year was temporary. I promise." I tell her.
George finally leaves and she changes as quickly as possible and races back to hug me again. I pick her up and she stays hugging me. "Freddie..." She whispers and I nod. "I gotcha baby." I tell her and she shoves her head in the crook of my neck.
I sit down and George is tearing up. "You got her to talk." He tells me and I look at her confused. "What do you mean?" I ask and he wipes his face. "She was ok at first... Then she saw a Scrapbook of you guys. She realized that you were actually well- You know what I mean. And she stopped talking. We brought her to St. Mungo's in hope she'd start talking but after a month I just took her in here. Hoping one day she'd talk again. Then you came back. She talked for the first time today. Only because she saw you." He explains. "Your turn." She says and I nod, rubbing circles on her back.
"They thought us twins were the only two who were important enough to be in the army but slightly unimportant to kidnap one and try to get answers. They replaced me with a soldier using Polyjuice. Luckily... I had the memory of you guys keeping me strong." I explain kissing her neck. I feel tears on my shoulder and I move to see her face. "What's wrong lovey?" I ask and she hides in my neck again. "My fault." She cries into my neck. "Hey... What do you mean?" I ask and she nuzzles her face into my neck. "I didn't notice..." She cries and I kiss her neck up and down softly. "No baby, they took some of my memories so it would be impossible to not notice." I explain and she holds me tightly. "But I love you so much. I should've." She explains, taking breaks, every time trying to remember a word or at least how to say it. "I'm going to pack her things, I think your flat will be more comfortable." George says and I nod.
"I'm sorry." She mumbles and I kiss her again. "Me too..." I whisper.
***
"Good morning darling." I say as I sit on the couch next to Y/n. She smiles at me slightly and I grab the newspaper. "Want me to read for you?" I ask and she nods,  laying on my lap. I run my fingers through her hair as I read the news, showing her the cartoons. I'm smiling and laughing for her until she gets up and grabs a grape. She eats it and I pop up straight. "Sorry did you want that?" She asks and I smile at her. I kiss her all over her face and she giggles. I start kissing her even more causing more giggles. The sound I haven't heard in two years, right before the war.
"Freddie!" She giggles and I smile at her with the dopiest smile I can muster. "I love your laugh..." I sigh and she smiles at me. I get a call and answer it seeing its George.
"Hey could you come down to the shop? Ron set off fireworks after falling and there might be a hole near your office. We tried fixing it but your Magic Blocker is being a pain" He tells me and I sigh. "Alright coming. You two are very much interrupting the best day of my life." I say kissing the crown of Y/n's head. "Why? What happened?" He asks and I smile at the girl in my hold. "Y/n both ate and I heard that gorgeous giggle of hers." I say smiling proudly at Y/n. She blushes slightly and I kiss her nose.
I get up to change with Y/n following closely behind after hanging up and change in our shared room as she fiddles with the sensory knickknacks. With my ADHD and her PTSD we got them to keep our minds healthy. I laugh when she throws the dollar bill squishy at me playfully. I pick it up and she smirks at me. "Pass me my wallet." She tells me and I sigh knowing what I'm getting myself into. I toss her the wallet and she opens it looking for something.
I continue getting dressed when I feel a coin hit my back. "Hey! Dollar bills!" I say tossing the coin back. "I see no such rule." She replies and I smile. "How can you annoy the hell out of me but make me fall so much harder..." I mumble and she smiles. "Its cause I pay good." She quips, tossing a coin at me. I finally get my belt fixed and I walk over. I pick her up and drop her onto our bed. I kiss her neck and she giggles as I tickle her lightly. "I love you so much..." I whisper and she kisses my cheek. "Not as much as I love you." She whispers back.
I get fully dressed and I watch as she disappears into the closet and returns, first eyes searching for me quickly and when she finds me she walks over hugging me. "Ready to go?" I ask and she nods.
Y/n's POV:
I walk into the shop with Fred as we walk out into the streets of Diagon Alley. "Busy street today." He mutters worried and I nod, holding onto his hand tightly. "Don't worry. If we lose each other, meet me at the shop. You know the way." He tells me and I nod silently.
We set off and halfway I lose him in the crowd. I look around scared. My heart beats faster and faster as the seconds pass. "Fred?" I say loudly and get no response. My heart starts to go faster than I've ever felt. "Fred?" I say, tears forming in my eyes.
What if he gets kidnapped again?
What if he's hurt?
What if I get kidnapped?
What if Fred has to go through the same as I did?
What if-
I rush to the shop and go into the bathroom, locking the door as I fall to the ground crying. My heart beating faster than it should. I try to breath but no air is allowed down my throat. Tears fall from my eyes and I cry harder.
I need to go back and look for him.
Stop being a coward.
He could be hurt.
God I can't move.
What if me being a coward causes the last of the Deatheaters kidnap him again?
I can't lose him-
"Y/n? Darling?" I hear and I wipe my tears, quickly standing up shakily. I unlock the door and smile at a distressed Fred. "Hey I just had to fix my makeup." I say and his frown deepens. "C'mere." He says holding his arms open. I stop before hugging him and take a step back. "How do I know?" I ask and he sighs. "I got some Veritaserum in the back if you'd like that." He tells me and I run into his arms, hugging him tightly. "I'm sorry." I cry softly into his chest and he kisses my head. "I'm here for you every step of the way. For better and worse." He whispers into my head softly.
"Now it's time to deal with my idiot brother's mistakes."
***
Fred comes into the apartment and smiles happily. "Lovey!!!" He says and I smile brightly at him. I hold up my now empty plate and he wraps his arms, one hand holding his briefcase, around me. "I made you some too!" I tell him and he looks at the coffee table. "I can't believe I was lucky enough to marry you..." He whispers in my ear and I smile. "I can agree." I tell him, kissing his nose. It's been two years since he got back and I finally got better. I started talking again, laughing, hugging, all because I had my loving husband next to me the whole time. I still have some issues with him leaving but not as bad as before.
"How was work?" I ask as he sits down, starting to eat. "Good. Missed you though." He tells me and I smile, laying on his lap as he devours his food. I unbutton his shirt and pull up the t-shirt underneath, I put my head under the cloth and kiss his scars lightly as he rubs my hair lightly. "I love you my crazy lady." He tells me and I pull my head away, smiling at him goofily. "I love you my red haired boy."

Family Dinner
Kozik x F!Reader (ft. Dad!Tig Trager)
Request by Anon: Can I request a sort of funny Kozik x female reader (who is Tig's badass daughter), where Tig has no idea that they're a thing until Gemma holds a dinner, and someone goes to offer reader a food they can't have due to a dairy intolerance, and Kozik informs them that she can't have it, and Tig pretty much interrogates him and is like, "how do you know that"? Has a big ol' moment of feeling betrayed and being mad as hell, but ultimately comes around to the idea.
Warnings: language, alcohol
Word Count: 2k
A/N: This was a fun one! I did switch up the reveal a little bit but not too much. I haven’t written a heck of a lot for Tig as a character and having him play the protective dad role in this was really enjoyable to write. Hope you enjoy! xo

You were shimmying back into your jeans, trying to pretend that you didn’t notice the way that his eyes were glued to you. You looked over as you fastened the button on them, “You going to Gemma’s later?”
He looked surprised at the question, “The dinner thing?” when you nodded in response, he sat upright, running his hand through his hair, “Am I…am I even invited?”
You laughed, nodding, “It’s a club thing. Of course you’re invited.”
“Yea but no one ever—”
“Does Gemma seem like the kind of woman who is gonna make a damn phone tree and call everyone she wants there?” you chuckled and shook your head, “Just come. It’s always a good time. Good food, too.”
You could see it on his face that he was trying to weigh out the pros and cons of it. Since he transferred into Samcro, things had gone smoothly for him for the most part. Pretty much everyone in the club was glad to have him back around again. However, the one person that wasn’t thrilled about his return, was the person that you knew he was worrying the most about.
“It’s not like you two are going to be alone in a room together,” you told him as you pulled your shirt down over your head, “We’re all gonna be there.”
“You think he won’t jump the table and try to beat the shit out of me in front of everyone?”
You laughed, knowing that that is exactly the kind of thing your father would do, “Just don’t say anything to piss him off.”
“Want me to be silent for the whole dinner, then?”
You smiled, shaking your head, “Give him a little credit, Koz. He’s better than he was when you first turned back up.”
“Pretty low fuckin’ bar.”
You walked back over to his bed, pressing a soft kiss to his lips, “Progress is progress,” you stroked your thumb along his cheek, “I’ll see you tonight?”
He sighed, giving in only because it was you, “Yea,” he rested his hand over yours, “I’ll be there.”
You smiled, pressing your forehead against his, “Thank you.”
You leaned in to give him one last quick peck on the lips before leaving, but he grabbed you and pulled you close, not letting you pull away. You laughed as you leaned into the kiss, bracing yourself on his shoulders.
When he finally let you go, he was smiling up at you, “Since I won’t be able to do that later.”
You chuckled, shaking your head as you walked towards his bedroom door, “You could, but it’d be the last time you ever did.”
You left Kozik’s place, making your way back to the home that you were currently sharing with your father. You’d been looking for a place of your own, but nothing seemed to be quite the right fit. At this point, you figured you would probably just end up moving in with Kozik before too much longer. There were a few conversations that needed to happen before that, though, and you weren’t sure if you were quite ready to have them yet.
“Dad, you home?” you’d seen his bike in the driveway but the house was eerily quiet when you walked in.
“Yea,” he walked out of the bathroom, half of his face still splattered with shaving cream, “Everything okay?”
You laughed as you took in the way he looked, giving him a nod, “Yea, all good. Was just quiet in here. But now I see that you were very…focused.”
“It’s like sculpting The David, alright? Takes a lot of concentration.”
You rolled your eyes with a smile, “Right. Something like that. Anyway, we still going to Gemma’s thing later?”
“Yea. I’m not getting in trouble for missing it.”
You laughed, “Figures.”
Surprisingly, Tig let you drive the both of you to Gemma’s place. Usually when you offered to drive it was met with a myriad of comments about how your driving would get the both of you killed. For some reason, though, he was feeling extra agreeable. You didn’t want to ruin it so you swiped the keys immediately and went out to the car.
When you rolled into the driveway, there were already a decent number of bikes parked out front. Your heart sped up a little bit when you spotted Kozik’s in the midst of them. You weren’t the only one who noticed, though. You heard Tig muttering something under his breath about how you can’t believe that someone invited him.
“He’s part of the club too, you know, Dad,” you said, a hint of defensiveness in your voice.
“Doesn’t mean that I gotta like him,” he responded as he stepped out of the car.
You sighed, getting out and shutting the door behind you, “Make everyone’s lives a whole lot easier if you did.”
He looked at you, eyes narrowed slightly, “Since when do you care?”
You shrugged, trying to play it off, “The less drama at family dinners, the better.”
It must’ve been a good enough excuse, because he let the topic drop. The two of you walked inside, welcomed by the sounds of a few different conversations happening throughout the house, and the smell of whatever Gemma was cooking wafting over from the kitchen. It really did feel like coming home.
You made your way around, saying hello and giving everyone a hug in greeting. You tried not to let Kozik’s embrace linger, but you had to admit that it was hard to pull away. It was getting harder and harder to keep things on the down-low with you two. You were needy and Kozik wasn’t someone that you would ever describe as particularly discreet.
“You need help with anything, Gemma?” you were scanning over everything that she had going on top of the stove and in the oven.
She took a deep breath, hands on her hips as she looked around the kitchen, “I don’t think so, sweetheart. Think we’ve got it all under control in here,” she nodded towards the cupboards, “Maybe get some plates out for me?”
You nodded, “Sure thing.”
While you were bringing the plates to the table, you could hear the murmur of conversations out in the living room. There was laughter and the clattering of beer bottles as the guys got into whatever shenanigans they had time for before the food was done. It’d been a while since everyone got together at Gemma’s, and you had to admit that it was needed.
You looked back into the kitchen and saw Kozik staring at you. You smiled, shaking your head slightly at him as you tried not to draw too much attention to it. The last thing you wanted to do was air out all of your business in the middle of Gemma’s house.
He was leaning back against the counter, watching as you gathered up silverware for the table as well. He opened his mouth to make a flirty remark, but immediately backpedaled when Tig walked into the room. He tore his eyes off of you, trying to look anywhere else.
When you came back from the table the second time, you saw that Gemma had stepped out of the kitchen. With a devious smile on your face, you grabbed a spoon out of the drawer and opened one of the pots on the stove. Gemma ran a tight ship, and that meant no sneaking any food before dinner. But what she didn’t know wouldn’t hurt her.
You assumed no one was watching you, Tig had his head in the fridge looking for a fresh beer bottle. You scooped a spoonful of whatever was filling the kitchen with a mouth-watering aroma. You never thought to ask Gemma what anything was—it was always good.
You blew on it, and just as you were about to take a bite Kozik spoke up, resting his hand on your arm to signal you to stop, “I wouldn’t if I were you.”
You chuckled, “If you don’t snitch, Gemma won’t even know.”
He laughed, shaking his head, “It’s not that. Although…that’s another really good reason to not sneak it.”
“Why can’t I have it? Saving more for yourself?” you smiled.
His grin was contagious, “That’s a bonus, but no,” he gently took the spoon from your hands, “It’s got diary in it. It’ll make you sick.”
You groaned, hating that you were deprived of good things, “Fuck. Fine. Thanks for saving my stomach I guess.”
He couldn’t help but to laugh, “You’re welcome I guess.”
The two of you were laughing but you both stopped short when you saw the way that Tig was glaring at you, beer bottle gripped tight in his hand. His glance shifted from you over to Kozik, eyes boring into the man next to you.
“How’d you know that?”
He tried to be nonchalant about it, not wanting to pour fuel on the fire that was already set between the two of them, “Know what?”
Tig nodded towards the pot on the stove, “That that shit makes her sick.”
He’d never been good at coming up with lies on the spot, “She just, uh, I dunno. Must’ve mentioned it at some point.”
It wasn’t a convincing statement. And Tig had noticed how close the two of you stood, the way that you looked at each other. He wasn’t that oblivious. He wasn’t sure who he was more frustrated with in the moment. It was easier to be mad at Kozik, because he was always mad at him. But he couldn’t believe that you wouldn’t tell him something like this. Despite his own personal feelings, he was still your father and wanted to know what was going on with you.
Tig stepped forward, getting dangerously close to Kozik’s face, “You sleepin’ with my daughter?”
You huffed, trying to insert yourself between the two of them, “Dad, come on. We’re not doing this here.”
His eyes diverted back to you, “You didn’t think you should mention this to me at some point? How long has this shit been going on?”
You rolled your eyes, trying to keep things as level as possible, “I wanted to mention it, but for some reason I thought that it might not go over well.”
He crossed his arms over his chest, fingertips rapping against the neck of his beer bottle. He knew that you had a point—he didn’t exactly make himself the easiest person to talk to when it came to you dating in general, let alone dating Kozik. But still.
“Maybe that’s true,” he finally conceded.
You laughed, shaking your head. Your stubbornness was a genetic trait, “Yea. Maybe.”
His eyes searched your face for any hint of hesitation or discomfort, “He good to you?”
You nodded, not even needing a moment to think about the answer, “Of course.”
Tig gave you a slight nod before gently moving you to the side, once more getting too close for comfort to Kozik’s face, “You hurt her, it’ll be the last thing you ever fucking do. Got it?”
He nodded, wanting to force words out but not quite sure what to say, “Got it.”
“Good,” he stepped away, walking back towards the living room where the rest of the club was sitting.
You wanted to stay and enjoy the relief of not having to hide anymore, but you couldn’t. You pressed a quick kiss to Kozik’s lips before going to catch up with your dad, pulling him aside, “Hey. Thank you for, you know, not murdering him in the middle of Gemma’s kitchen.”
“The night isn’t over. There’s still time for that.”
You laughed, “Stop. He’s a good guy, Dad. I know you don’t wanna see it but—”
He cut you off, “You don’t gotta explain yourself to me. But if he fucks up I swear to god—”
“You’ll be the first to know. Promise,” you held your pinky out.
He locked his finger with yours, a smile on his face, “Good.”
You smiled, “I love you.”
He pulled you in for a hug, “I love you too.”

“This was not to say Richie could not be very funny from time to time; he could be. When referring to verbal zingers and farts, Richie’s terminology was the same: he called it Getting Off A Good One, and he got off Good Ones of both types frequently...” -- Stephen King

It was a cold shower kind of afternoon as the thunder from outside Richie’s bedroom window roared loud enough to be mistaken for a dragon. Dragons don’t exist. Richie, however, ignored the booming sounds of nature from outside—his thoughts lost in a certain someone; and his ears muffled by the pillows encasing him.
y/n was coming over for a study session at two p.m. sharp, per Wentworth’s request, but Richie still had time as his left hand traveled to the zipper of his orange, corduroy trousers. It’s not like Richie knew y/n. This afternoon, this shameful afternoon where if his dad were home right now, he’d be caught with his hand in his pants and a name he’d rather not talk about in between his lips, would be his first time meeting the girl.
Wentworth Tozier was the one to suggest she come over on this grey Sunday afternoon during Thursday’s family dinner when he noticed Richie’s recent report card.
“A C in chemistry?”
“The C stands for Chemistry,” Richie said with a smirk on his face. It didn’t seem to work because Mr. Tozier’s frown didn’t budge, and Maggie Tozier only sipped her coffee which had to be cold by now.
“You know we expect better from you.” He was right. His parents weren’t used to anything other than a line of A’s on the weekly transcript he brought home. Richie wasn’t either. But lately, something had taken a toll on his grades—or someone.
“You know what might help him, dear?” Wentworth looked up from the chicken he was currently cutting through. “A tutor.”
“I do not need a tutor.” Richie dropped his fork which was being used to play with his green beans.
“Your grades say otherwise, kid,” Wentworth countered. “You know, Maggie, I think that’s a good idea.”
“Not you too, Dad!” Richie cried out, exasperated at the scene playing out in front of him.
Ignoring his son, Wentworth continued, “In fact, I think my buddy back from Catholic school has a kid who could tutor him.” He took a bite. “Last I heard, she was fairly good at the sciences.”
“You should think about calling them after dinner,” Maggie said without looking up. Which was how Richie ended up with only an hour left to get himself off rather than the rest of the day.
Although his hand was no match for any of his previous hookups, it was faster, and it got the job done. He was just about to finish when the doorbell rang and a knock on his door startled him from his position and kept him from finishing.
“Coming!” Richie yelled; certain that the outsider wasn’t going to hear him. He stood up from his position on his bed, pulled up the trousers that hung from his ankles and trekked his way downstairs. His feet made a thumping sound as they padded their way down the stairs—roughly at that. He was surprised the house didn’t shake at his footsteps. “We don’t want your Girl Scout cookies,” Richie said, half annoyed that his session was cut early.
“I’m not a Girl Scout.” y/n held open the door with her hand before Richie could close it. She wore a white button down that was haphazardly tucked into a blue-green, plaid skirt. Her already see-through blouse was even more see-through, as the rain from standing outside for so long had drenched it from the outside in.
“Oh.” Richie didn’t say anything for a moment. “I didn’t order a pizza, either.”
“I didn’t bring you a pizza, either.” y/n was growing just about as annoyed as he was. “Can I just come in?”
“I don’t know about that one, toots.” Richie made a clicking sound with his tongue. “Pops said I’m not allowed to let strangers in.”
“Richie, please, just let me in,” y/n seethed. She didn’t have time for his bullshit and quite frankly, he didn’t either. If Richie let his grades take another blow to the one-inch margin, his C would threaten to turn into a D. “Your dad called mine on Thursday… I’m here to… tutor… you.”
Richie noticed how her voice had lowered and he could tell she was just as ecstatic as him for their study session. Wordlessly, he stepped away from the front door, allowing y/n some space to walk in. His eyes inadvertently glued themselves to her backside, watching as her skirt’s pleats swayed against her hips and the rain’s water trail against her long legs; a sight he’d swallow at and feel himself grow semi-hard to.
If all the girls at Catholic school looked like y/n, he might just have to transfer because just one glance at her made Richie forget all about the reason for his tragic C that stood for Chemistry.
“Where are we studying?” y/n asked. Her eyes darted around the place like it was foreign. It was foreign. Her hands clutched the book bag she held onto tighter, anxious by the new atmosphere.
“Is my room okay?” Richie asked, already starting up the stairs. His tone had gone soft, like when you microwave butter. He almost felt bad for protesting against the idea of being tutored just a few short days ago.
“Yeah.” y/n followed him, making sure to leave an appropriate amount of space between the two bodies.
“Do you need a change of clothes?” Richie said, not trying to cover up the obviousness in his voice; that he was obviously looking at her covered chest each second she spent turned away from him; that he had an obvious hard-on that he hadn’t bother to conceal under his ridiculous corduroy pants.
“No,” y/n said with a bit of uncertainty. Sure, she was soaking wet from her hair to her toes, but she wasn’t about to borrow one of Richie Tozier’s ridiculous band-tees that would wear like a dress.
“What’s with the get-up, anyway?” Richie smirked. Before he sat down, he pulled out an extra seat for her. Usually, it would be used to discard his dirty clothes on. Luckily, Maggie Tozier had taken the liberty of cleaning up before their guest got here.
“Laundry day,” y/n sighed while sitting down her bag next to her. She brushed out her skirt as she sat down so it’d cover as much of her bare legs as fabric would sparingly allow. Her skirt was drenched, and she was sure it would leave the chair just the same as if she stood up any time soon.
“Don’t have to wear that thing tomorrow?” Richie couldn’t help but think about all the other girls who’d be wearing the same outfit on Monday. Of course, their blouses wouldn’t be overly exposing, but their legs would still be bare and long—longing for Richie’s stare if you catch a drift.
“Aren’t you failing something?” y/n snapped back.
Richie swallowed the rest of the words lingering in the back of his throat.
“I was thinking we start with the basics.” y/n bent down, searching for the green folder she had marked ‘Science’ in thick, permanent ink. Richie couldn’t help but steal another look at her figure—outlined by the white shirt that clung to it.
“Basics?” His voice cracked, but he was too caught up in her to care.
“Well, what do you need help with?”
“Nothing.” Richie scoffed, not letting some girl he barely knew deflate his ego.
“Then why am I here?” She countered. Her eyebrow raised, unimpressed, and her fingers started to drum anxiously against the wood of his desk.
“Right now, we’re going over stoichiometry,” Richie shrugged, not bothering to meet her eyes—her bright, keen eyes he’d find himself lost in if he weren’t careful. “It’s not the math part I need help on it’s the—”
“Concentration.”
“Yeah.” Richie let out a heavy sigh. He already knew what y/n looked like—beautiful, while water droplets kissed her neck that he itched to touch. It wouldn’t hurt to steal yet another glance, he thought, while turning towards her. “It’s like I can’t focus,” he said, finally making eye contact.
“And you need help with that?” She questioned. The familiar feeling of anticipation welled in the back of her throat but there was no telling why.
“I guess.” Richie’s eyes left hers to stare at the wall. The view was less impressive, but it let him form a cohesive thought.
“I think I know a way.” y/n’s demeanor had completely changed by now. Richie was about to mutter out a how or what the hell are you talking about but the words in his mind scrambled together like the eggs his mother made that morning when he felt her hand travel down to his knee.
y/n’s touch was light and delicate—almost nothing as it grazed against the fabric of his jeans. But it was there. He felt it, and if he didn’t, his imagination must’ve been pretty goddamn realistic for running at a hundred hertz a minute. Her thumb ran circles against the corded pattern making his breath hitch.
“Uh, what’cha doin’?” Richie’s eyebrow rose at the hand on his pants which was making its way to the zipper.
“Helping,” she insisted, “if you’re having trouble focusing, you’re probably stressed, right?” Richie could only nod. “So, this will help you unstress.” He gasped at the sound and sight of y/n undoing his zipper. His eyes widened and she found herself smiling at his movements from such little touch already.
Richie was quick to roll his jeans, and the underwear underneath, to his ankles. His eager length stood hard and erect against his stomach and if it weren’t for his lack of social awareness, he’d be embarrassed to be seen bare in front of a girl he just met.
y/n’s right hand—timid but daring—wrapped itself around the base of his cock, eliciting a groan from Richie’s now parted and perfectly pink lips.
Surprise wouldn’t even begin to describe the swirl of emotions that found themselves in the pit of Richie’s stomach and began to bubble in his throat—another groan. Though, as surprised as Richie was, he couldn’t help but feel a warm sense of pleasure and yearning for more as he harshly swallowed at the feeling of friction and tightness y/n managed to spring upon him in one firm jerk.
She was on her knees now, the feeling of hardwood against bare skin didn’t seem to faze her. All her attention was on Richie. The sound of unsteady breaths from above had y/n’s cheeks flushed and panties in a heat. The only cohesive thought in her mind was wanting to hear those pretty little noises coming from Richie’s pretty little mouth again.
y/n didn’t need a mirror to know her pupils were blown, the sight before her that she couldn’t quite look away from and the uncomfortable feeling between her legs was enough, letting her realize what she was doing. What was she doing? Her grip on his length loosened as she moved her hand up and down, allowing for enough space for her mouth when she connected her lips to his dick.
“God. You feel great, toots.” It only took a few motions for Richie to already come lax at the feeling of y/n’s mouth. He wished it were another part.
y/n chuckled to herself. Having this much power over a boy made her feel… confident. No guy at her school would give her the time of day, it seemed—not even Jeremy Fields. But Richie Tozier… Richie Tozier was practically falling apart at the sight of her and y/n loved that. Richie felt her pace around him speed up and y/n felt herself grinding on her palm to meet his same high. The sight of her alone was enough to have Richie on edge.
“Sugar, if you don’t stop I’m gonna—” His heavy pants were enough to cut him off, but y/n took her chance to interrupt further.
“—You’ll what?” She pulled apart from him, a string of saliva connecting them. Richie almost whimpered at the warm feeling of her mouth provided—gone.
“I’m gonna bust before I can take care of you,” he admitted somewhat bashfully. His face was red, and y/n couldn’t tell if it was from embarrassment or the fact that he had been worked up.
“Oh.” Back at her shy state, y/n ducked her head and felt her cheeks heat in a similar fashion to his. “Well, in that case…” y/n didn’t have to finish her sentence for Richie to get a grasp on what she was saying. She began to undo the buttons of the thin, white button up at an unbearably slow pace. She managed to peel the wet material that stuck to her skin gracefully even though she’d been itching to take it off as soon as she put it on.
“Wow.”
“Shut up,” y/n mumbled mindlessly, not daring to make eye contact. Part of her was embarrassed enough at the fact that she was on her knees for the boy she was supposed to teaching qualitative chemical reactions to. Her skirt was next to come off. The plaid fabric fell helplessly fell to the ground as soon as she unzipped it.
“I’m serious. You’re like… hot stuff, hot stuff,” Richie said as soon as she stood up, giving him a perfect view. Her underwear was a scalding red with embroidered flowers that decorated the side of her breasts and hipbone. The matching set was far from innocent, far from what Richie would imagine Catholic school girls to wear.
y/n didn’t say anything—her stomach too full of butterflies and a lump still caught in her throat. Richie could sense her nervousness and pulled her into him. To think, a girl he had met only thirty minutes ago was now engulfed in his arms and half-bare for him.
The rough pad of his thumb drew circles on her shoulder. The slow, sensual movements against her skin was electric and had the two riled up even more as Richie slotted his thigh in between hers for her to buck up against. The feeling of her clothed clit on lace as she dragged herself back and forth on his leg at an uneven pace was indescribable.
“Fuck.” It wasn’t unexpected that Richie broke the silence and occasional gasps. “You’re soaked… so… fuckin’ soaked.” He could feel the wetness from her panties that dripped onto his bare leg and he groaned at the thought that it was because of him.
y/n giggled but the sound of her breathy laughs in his ears didn’t last long as she pressed into him further and latched her lips onto his. It was like no other kiss he’s had before. As for y/n, she’d be ashamed to say it was her first kiss. That is, her first kiss where she felt something.
y/n swallowed the moan from Richie as their lips still locked and their tongues swept over each other.
“You’re like—”
“You are, too,” y/n breathed quickly, not bothering to hear the rest of the words. Her attention was now focused on him—or the lack of him inside her. She grabbed his throbbing length once again, taking barely any time to admire it. “Do you have any?”
“Yeah.” Richie swallowed. He opened the top left drawer of his desk, revealing a box of Trojans which he quickly took a foil packet from.
It was weird. Although y/n knew this was just a one time thing she couldn’t help but feel jealous as the small hairs on her neck stood to attention.
Effortlessly, Richie tore open the foil and slid on the condom. “Ready?”
y/n nodded and bit down on her cheek as she sunk down on him. Patiently, Richie waited for her to adjust to his size and a sign for him to move.
A quick kiss to his lips was it. It was different from the first. Swift, sweet, teasing. Richie wanted more. He wanted more as he thrust up into her and he wanted more as he felt y/n’s fingertips dig into his shoulders through the fabric of his shirt.
“Unfair that you have more clothes on,” y/n managed to speak through a whine. To which Richie opened his eyes and through hazy lids and lust-blown pupils he saw her panties that were pulled to the side as his dick met her entrance and the bra strap that was making its way down her arm.
Richie stifled a chuckle. “You want this off?” He gestured to the graphic tee that was basically draped over his slim figure.
“God, yes. Take a hint much?” She tugged weakly on the sleeve of his shirt and he pulled away for a second so he could remove it, revealing his smooth chest and delicious collarbone.
Another whine left y/n’s lips as he pulled her in closer again. His speed picked up as he bottoms out, reaching a spot no guy has ever found before. Her left hand his in his hair, gripping at his long locks that only a Rockstar would dare wear and her right hand is clutching his cheek—his freckle-sprayed cheek that relaxes under her soft hands and delicate fingers.
Richie’s hands, however, are in a much more intimate place he realizes as he moans yet again, this time at the feeling of his roots being pulled on. One is on her ass, keeping her from falling off, though it might be impossible seeing as how close the two are. The other is playing with her folds, using the same circular motions from earlier to coax her closer.
“You feel so good,” Richie says as his eyes roll back to his head. “Fuck.”
y/n hums. Her lips can’t help but curl into a smile once the words reach her ears. “I’m close,” she whispers and Richie nods in agreement.
It’s dirty and the total opposite of what Richie would expect from the girl who walked in his door a short hour ago, but they reach their highs together, while the filthiest noise Richie’s ever heard leaves y/n’s swollen lips. He watches her as she cums. Her hair is moussed and sweat shines across her furrowed brows. But Richie Tozier swears he hasn’t seen a prettier sight.
“Fuck, doll,” Richie says in amazement.
y/n’s still smiling as she opens her eyes, but she can’t help but be embarrassed at the same time.
“What?” The question is small, but there’s a certain weight on her shoulders that Richie notices.
“You’re hot.” He’s wearing a shit-eating grin and y/n wants to smack him right then and there. But she doesn’t. She only smiles back, quickly removes herself from him, and redresses herself with the same pace. Her shirt is only slightly less damp and slightly less uncomfortable, but it’ll do. y/n supposes she could just change into her pajamas once she got home. “What, don’t tell me our session’s over already,” Richie tries to joke.
“Sorry,” y/n sighs. Her backpack is already slung over her shoulder, she didn’t even need to ask Richie for help with her stuff.
“Hey, is this because…” Richie’s large palm finds a home on y/n’s shoulder which she tenses up at.
“No!” y/n’s barely able to choke it out. “But the session was, like, supposed to be an hour, you know? And I don’t want to overstay my welcome.” She’s back to her nervous self again.
“God.” Richie realizes what this is about now. “You’re not overstaying anything, toots. You can stay for dinner if you’d like,” he offers. “Hell, stay forever.”
y/n resists the urge to roll her eyes and opts for the dead skin on her lip instead. “I really have to go. Sorry, Rich.”
The last he sees is her half-smile from her all perfect lips before she slips out the door and into the rain again.

“Oh! And one more thing, for some reason, the security system keeps acting up. If the doors don’t lock up the first time around, just try it a couple more times and I think that it should work...I kind of just try it enough times until it works.”
Felix nervously adjusted his cap with the little embroidered yellow chick.
“Okay. Sounds good to me.”
Your boss tucked his neck deep into his cable scarf, then tipped both you and your coworker a little salute.
“Thank you both for being here on Valentines Day. Just a couple more hours! You can do it!”
The back door to the café slammed shut from the blustering winter wind behind your boss’ coattails.
“It’s really coming down out there isn’t it?” Your friend, and coworker-in-suffering Felix, shifted from foot to foot.
Outside of the shop windows, the howling of wind shook at the shutters of the the display case filled with little mock-up cakes and pastries. The snow storm had been unexpected, but it hadn’t seemed to dampen anyone’s spirits on the holiday. Since the snow had picked up in the afternoon, customers still came rolling into the cafe with flakes all caught up in their hair, scarves and hats. On this day in particular, you had seen dozens of school girls and boys come in carrying their stash of valentines letters, bouquets of flowers and all kinds of candies. Little groups of friends would share slices of your special Valentines Day cake and smear cream over each other’s noses in a tizzy of laughter.
You didn’t mind Valentines Day; there was something extra heartwarming and universal about it all. One day, out of all the days of the year, everyone stopped for just a few moments to say “I love you” or give out an extra hug or kiss on the cheek. How could you not feel all lovey and gushy from it all? Maybe you were a romantic, or maybe you really had just watched one too many dramas to make you feel this way.
Earlier, you had been making a couple lattes, and a couple sitting by the window had arranged to meet right at the loveseat by the door to exchange gifts. One of them had given the other a couple books and a journal, and the other gave them what looked like hand-knitted mittens. They held the frayed fabric in their hands while the watched how their partner reacted. Of course, they accepted the mittens with a wide smile then pulled their love in to give them a giant hug.
I love them. So much. Thank you.
You thought that was what they had said from as far away as you were.
This kind of love, was your favorite kind. The kid of love that was unconditional, that was given no matter what time of day, no matter what it looked like or how it was expressed, it simply was.
You had always hoped, this was the love that you would have some day. But, you hadn’t found it yet. Not in all your years of crushes from afar, or love letters written in the night when you should have ben doing work. You had wondered, what was it really like to have someone love you like that: a love that existed in the early mornings, and dead of the night; the kind of love that looked over at you for no reason, and smiled at you just because.
Perhaps you would spend your whole life looking: and while it saddened you, in a few ways, you had come to terms with it. If you had to wait, that just meant that you were waiting for something really great...right?
You wondered what kind of love Felix wanted. The thought had crossed your mind time and again. You figured, he was the kind to fall in love fast and all the time. He would even get crushes on people who would come to the register to pay for their coffee and custard tart. It was supremely adorable. He’d stammer over his words with hands trembling at the keys of the register, and the tips of his ears would turn rosy pink.
“U-ummm here-here’s your receipt....”
A tiny smile would spread across his freckled face after they would leave, then he would rake his cute little hands though his hair, stammering even more about what a fool he had made of himself.
“Well, when you think about it, you might never see them again?” You’d joke to him with a playful jab to his side.
“But what if I doooooo??”
Maybe Felix was the kind of person who wanted a love that would last forever, or the kind of love that he could daydream about. You thought that this might’ve suited him. It seemed as if that boy was often in a faraway place. There had been a couple times when he would stare out the shop windows wistfully with his mop in hand, or would giggle a little when he made designs into the lattes and mochas. He was just so happy all the time, but for what, you had no idea.
Maybe Felix already had a love. You wouldn’t put it past him seeing how dreamy he was often. Felix deserved love more than anyone in the world you had decided. He deserved some to love him so hard and all the time. Admittedly, it made your heart ache a little thinking about how badly he deserved it. He deserved someone to kiss away on all those freckles on his cheeks on his cute little wrists. He deserved someone to shower all their love into his strawberry pink lips, and ruffle up his golden hair just to make him laugh.
Maybe...you wished that you could’ve been the person to do so.
“Do you think that we’ll get any more customers?”
Felix had squatted down on the floor behind the counter into a pseudo-sitting position. His tan apron crinkled on the ground.
“Don’t you think that everyone’s gone out by now? And the snow is picking up?”
You squatted down next to him. “I don’t think we’ll be seeing anyone else. There’s only one more hour left anyway.”
A sly smirk started to sprout on his lips, “What if we left a little early? No one is coming so...”
“Have somewhere that you need to be?” You patted his head.
“...No, unless spending the night with my cats counts as “plans.””
“No...date?”
“Date?” He scoffed, “Me? Nooooo.” He paused, and with a tentative air, met your eyes. “Do...you have plans tonight?”
“Mm-no.”
Felix sucked in a tight inhale, as if he was mustering his courage.
“Well, m-maybe, after we leave, --only if you want--we could--”
The bells over the café door tinkled, sweeping in snowy and white air in with it.
“I’m sorry, are you still open?”
The old woman carefully closed the door behind her and clung tightly to her shawl that was wrapped around her shoulders. Only dressed in the thin fabric, you figured that she must’ve been freezing. Both you and your coworker sprung to your feet to attend to her.
“Yes! How can we help you?”
She was an odd woman, the kind that you could only really describe to look witch-like. While she had warm features, her aged skin had grown stretched with little marks and veins feebly showing. Bags under her eyes were deep, but they didn’t look tired, but like they held many years of wisdom, like he had witnessed much, and knew much.
“A-aren’t you cold?” Felix rushed to the other side of the corner to help her to a chair. “It’s so freezing outside, and you’ve barely got on a hat.”
His tone was gentle, like the one that you guessed he would speak to his cats with.
“I’m fine. Nights like these, I’ve lived through many of them. They don’t phase me any more. I just thought that I could come inside for a moment to have a slice of that strawberry cake that you have in the window. It looks very delicious.”
You nodded quickly then plated the second to last slice for her. You brought the dish over quickly with a little fork. “Anything else that we can get for you?”
The woman shook her head politely, then took up the fork in her shaking hands. She ate quietly, merely making little “mm’s” as she licked the cream away. You and your coworker didn’t really know what to do, seeing as she hadn’t paid, and wasn't shivering from the cold at all. Felix shot you a confused glance, then rushed to the back of the café and to his locker. You heard the usual metallic clang, and he came jogging back with his own scarf that he had worn that day.
“H-here. Please put this on.” He offered her the periwinkle blue fabric.
“Oh. Dear, you are so kind. I just knew that you would be such a sweet soul. I could sense it.”
The woman dabbed her mouth with the napkin that you had placed under her plate.
“That was wonderful, I could really taste the love that had been baked into that cake. It’s always refreshing to feel that.”
You and Felix nodded, still unsure of the situation, but smiled as politely as you could. She then swaddled her neck in the scarf, and sighed in her contempt.
“No one has ever offered me something like this before. You are quite special young man.”
She had voiced the comment about Felix, but she had held your eyes as she said it. Her eyes were a bit hazy, some kind of color that must’ve been blue at some point, but here now a type of soft grey-lavender. They were enchanting, and mysterious, but you had felt that you had known them somehow.
The old woman rummaged around in her pockets, the pulled out two gold coins that were hefty in size, and thick like the kind of candy ones. You had never seen anything like them before, and they were a bit comical to look at, but still shone like the golden sun. On both sides of the coin, there was no writing, but merely an insignia of two arrows crossed over eachother.
“I think that should suffice.” Her chair creaked under her as she rose, and placed one in your hand and the other in Felix’s. “Thank you so much for taking care of me. Both of you deserve all the love that’s coming to you. I hope that you remember this.”
Felix muttered and turned over his coin in his hand. “T-thank you.”
You shot Felix a glare. You had not the slightest idea how you could have accepted this as payment, but Felix seemed completely fine with it.
The woman’s crinkled hand wrapped around the door handle, and she pulled her shawl around her once again, then buried her neck back into Felix’s scarf.
“Happy Valentines Day!” She waved to you both, and you found yourself waving back.
The door slammed, and you felt as if you had been snapped out of some kind of hypnosis.
“Wow.” Felix whispered with a little smile.
“What. The heck. Was that?” Your body trembled in the way that you would’ve have as if you had plunged right out of cold water.
Felix stood smiling and gazing out, not even paying attention to your remark.
“Felix? ...Felix?”
“Hmm?” He turned nonchalant.
“Did you hear me?”
“What?”
You reached your hand down the pocket of your apron to study that strange coin only to find that you couldn’t feel the cold metal.
“...What?” You rummaged around even further. “I could’ve sworn...”
In Felix’s hands which he had left cupped in front of him, his gold coin had vanished too, and he hadn’t even noticed.
»»————- ♡ ————-««
“I hope that this works.”
Felix’s mittened hands tapped over the keys of the security system keypad and he mouthed the numbers as he did so. The pad illuminated with a green light and made little beeping sounds with each number. Once he finished the sequence, it flashed with a red light.
“...Does that mean that it didn’t work?”
“I think so?”
The two of you had shoved your bodies together in the little corner nearest the back exit of the café.
“I should try it again?”
“Isn’t that what we’re supposed to do?”
Felix gave a determined nod, then did the passcode, only for it to flash red again.
“Oh my god, what if we mess this all up and then someone breaks into the café and then we get fired--I mean--I get fired because it would be all my fault--”
You snarked out a laugh and pushed him lightly aside, “Here, let me try. No one’s getting in trouble.”
You pressed in the same code, getting red once more.
“What do we do????”
As if it was his security blanket, Felix tucked his neck into his coat collar.
“One more time, alright? Maybe there’s a manual in the office or something. We can try that.”
An ahhh circled Felix’s mouth and he let out a relieved exhale. “Right. Right. That’s a good idea.”
This time, you pressed the numbers in hard, as if that would make any difference, but you thought it best to try. But, red again.
“I’ll go check the office,” Felix announced, and shuffled closer to the manager’s office near the back door. He wiggled the doorknob, finding it locked as well. “We’re doooooommed.”
“No, we’re not. I’m not giving up.”
In your head, you cursed out the damned security system up and down. If it wasn’t going to work, you would make it work.
“5. 9. 2. 5. 0. 8.”
beep beep beEP!
“Oh my god!!! It worked!!” Your friend jumped up and down in his excitement.
“Thank God.”
Felix hiked up his backpack on his shoulders, grabbing the door handle at first, but then stopped.
“Wait.” He licked his lips, “Before we go out there, I...I wanted to ask you, since it seems like we’re both not doing anything tonight, would you like to maybe...do something...with me?”
His anxious eyes widened, and you could see his breaths quicken under his wool coat. For a moment, you couldn’t even believe that he had said such a thing. Normally a timid boy, his strike of courage was something that was astonishing to you, but it also made your heart beat just a bit louder in your ears.
“You want to do something...with me?”
“Y-yeah.”
“Me?”
He giggled lightly. “I just said you.”
“On Valentines Day?”
“I-is that weird? I-I’m sorry if I’m weirding you out, I didn’t mean to. I know that we’re friends a-and I think that you’re really cool--I’ve always thought that--but, I never really had the guts to say so, and honestly I don’t know how I’m getting it out now but, I just don’t like the thought of being alone right now, or you being alone. So--”
“--Felix! Felix, calm down...” Even though your chest was thumping, your sweating hands squeezed your palms to calm yourself down.
“Sorry...I ramble when I get kind of nervous.”
His hands nervously fidgeted at his sides, and under the light of the emergency exit sign, a glimmer of gold winked between his fingers.
Felix asked his question with glimmering eyes. “Would you like to?”
“Yes. Yes. I would really really like to.”
“Really?” His smile was filled with the very sunshine that he seemed to carry with him every day.
“Really.”
“Okay.” He reached for the handle once more, yanking it down, but instead of it swinging from it’s hinges, it clanked, glued to the wall.
“What?” Felix shook at the handle once more. “It’s not...budging.”
“Let me try.” You mirrored his action, and sure enough, the door had locked itself in place. “Wait. I thought that it wasn’t supposed to lock after we exited?”
“I...thought the same.”
Once giddy, Felix turned solemn and worry chased across his brows.
“No. Nononono. This can’t be happening.”
“It’s okay. We’ll just unlock it again.”
You went back to your mortal enemy, the keypad, and pushed in the buttons, but no green light came from the action.
“Is it on? Is that supposed to happen?” Felix’s tone edged with anxiety.
The display screen on the interface had turned blank too. You had seen in movies that if you slapped the thing, maybe it would turn on, but after you had tried, nothing happened.
“I’ll try the other door.” Felix scuffled over the the front of the café, and you could hear the answer loud and clear even from the back. The other door also had locked and it’s metallic clang resonated through the empty tables and chairs.
“What do we do?” He asked once he returned to you in the back.
Even though your heart was racing its way up your throat, you remained as calm as you could. “We call for help. It’ll be okay. Look, there's a phone number here on the panel to call the service company.”
You drew your phone from your pocket, and it added yet one more object to your list of worries. “I-I don’t have service?? What the hell?”
Felix opened his phone screen too, and showed you his non-existent bars. “Me too. It’s gotta be the storm right?”
Your coworker’s eyes flicked back and forth in the darkened hallway, and you could hear his breaths start to quicken one after the other.
“Hey, hey, it’ll be okay.” You fluffed his hair like you had down a few times before, an action that never failed to make him giggle, so you hoped it helped put him at ease. He keened his hand into your hand a bit like a cat would, and it was just too frickin’ cute, even in a situation just as this.
“So we’re just gonna wait? Wait until our service comes back?”
“I guess so.”
Felix started with taking his coat off, and hung it back up in his locker. “Who knows how long that we’ll be here?”
You did the same, but left your hat on, merely liking the way that it warmed up your head. “Maybe we can make ourselves something to drink? How about, I make something for you, and you make something for me? Sounds kinda fun?”
“Sure.” Felix responded with a faint smile.
In the dim lighting of that hallway, you reached for his small hand at his side.
“Um, looks like we’re still getting to spend tonight together. I wish that it wasn’t like this, but, it’s something, right?”
He was startled by your action, but let your fingers lace between his. The small connection was the one that had made you feel butterflies just thinking about, and now it really was happening.
“Felix...I’ve thought before, I think that you’re really cool too.”
»»————- ♡ ————-««
You knew that using the ingredients for your own experimentation was against the rules, but you had hoped that your boss would’ve understood considering the situation. The rule had been written on the little spreadsheet that he kept taped to the side of the syrup holder, but that wasn’t going to stop you.
“No peeking.” Felix giggled as he shook something together in one of the hand-held mixers.
“No peeking to you either.” You said, scooping some macerated strawberries into the bottom of a cup.
For a boy as sweet as him, you knew exactly what you wanted to make: it was your own version of the strawberry milk that you had made in the café, but it had chocolate dripping down the sides of the glass and it was topped with chocolate shavings and a lovely amount of whipped cream.
“You done yet?” You asked while adding your finishing touches.
“Juuust about.” He rummaged around the little array of fresh prepared herbs that you kept in the minifridge under the counter. “Oookay! Now I am!”
In the corner of your eye, that last slice of strawberry cake called your name. You thought to yourself, I could always make more. It was the last slice anyway.
The two of you made a little set up at one of the tables and Felix even thought to turn off a few of the light fixtures, and brought out a couple of those birthday candles that you would use on customers, and arranged them in a cup to burn.
Celebrate!
Happy Birthday!
You Are Special!
Congratulations!
“Aw, cute.” You slid your drink for him closer, and admired the way that the yellow glow of the candles flickered in his soft brown eyes.
“I-I thought that it would make it more special, considering that where we are isn’t like, the most special place. Especially for tonight.”
“I think that it’s special. Or, who you’re with is what makes it special.”
Your coworker smiled coyly, then took a sip of your strawberry milk.
“Try yours!” He pushed the iced drink in front of you. It looked a bit like lemonade, but not exactly. Swirls of purple juice danced along with the pulp of the lemons. He had garnished it with a sprig of mint. “It’s blackberry lemonade. I’m sorry if it’s kind of tart. It was my first time making it, but I thought that you would like it.”
You took a sip, and the second that the concoction touched your lips, it was heavenly. While it was a little tart, the juice of the lemon bit wonderfully on your taste buds, and was complimented well with the sweetness from the ripe berries.
“Good?”
“Really good. Thank you.”
He sighed a sigh of relief, then passed you a fork.
“Maybe this isn’t so bad after all.”
“You thought that being trapped with me would be a bad thing?” You teased.
Felix’s eyes adorably widened, looking as if he had spilled his strawberry milk all over the table. “N-no, I didn’t mean that, I just thought that being locked up would feel--”
“--I’m kidding! Kidding, okay?”
A tiny oh formed on his mouth, so he took another sip to fill the gap of silence between you. “Your drink is really good too. How did you know that I liked strawberries so much?”
“Hm, it was a hunch.”
Actually, he had said it a dozen times or more, but, it was much cuter letting him think that he hadn’t said it before.
With the light of the candles now dripping a bit of wax onto the table, all of his features seemed so much softer: he was like some kind of dream, almost like a mythical being that you must’ve imagined.
You wondered, maybe this was the kind of love that he wanted: the kind of love that was sharing something that you had made, something special to you in a simple place, a place that was not much else other than the people who made it. Or, maybe this was the kind of love that you wanted.
Your pants pocket felt a little heaver, and you snuck your fingers in. The touch of your fingertips felt the cold and smooth metal first, then they ran over the outline of the arrow shapes on the flat side.
“Mmm. You made this cake so well!!” Felix did a little dance while popping in a bite.
“Felix?” You ran your finger over the golden piece. “I’m glad that we’re stuck here together.”
“Me...too.” He shied.
Carefully, you took your fingers to trace the yellow strands of his hair dipping over his forehead, taking in the way that they tickled your skin. In his nervousness, he took another sip, gulping loudly with eyes fluttering. On his lower lip, a bit of the cream streaked, and all you could do was wonder how it might’ve tasted there on his strawberry pink lips.
“Can I...kiss you?”
You could nearly see the way that his heart was beating as fast as a hummingbird in the way that his shoulders rose and fell with his anticipatory breaths.
“Yes.” He whispered.
You leaned forward slowly as to not scare him, tilting your head to the side as you pressed your lips against his. You had thought right: there really was nothing sweeter. His shaking breaths quivered over your lips while he tentatively kissed back, and it made your chest ache thinking about how nervous he must’ve been. You didn’t want to startle him, bur rather gently kissed him slow, carefully and respectfully. He shivered at the feeling, and his hand crinkled the napkin in his hand. The other, he had drawn out to rest on your leg, and rubbed his thumb into your jeans. The sweetness of the cream on his lips caught on yours, and it was unlike any kind of flavor you could have ever imagined.
After a moment, you drew back, and Felix appeared like he was about to burst with giggles but held himself back.
“I-I really liked that.” He tried his best to keep his composure.
“Me too.” Turns out, you really didn’t know what to do with yourself either. Instead, Felix made the decision for you. In seconds, he had launched his small body into your arms and wrapped himself around you in a hug so tight that it was nearly suffocating.
“I always kinda wondered what that would be like...with you.” He squeezed you tighter. “I can’t believe that just happened.” His smile cracked though his words.
You wrapped your arms back around him and you could have sworn that you could feel his fluttering heart against your own.
“Me too Felix.” You breathed in his scent which was that of daisies and candy floss.
“Can we...do it again maybe?” He leaned back with arms slung around your shoulders and pleading eyes.
“Of course.” You wove your hands into his puff-ball hair. “Can I try something?”
An even more sickly sweet idea crept into your brain.
“What’s that?”
You took your thumb to scoop up just a little bit more of the cream bubbling on his drink, then carefully wiped it over his bottom lip, just as if you had been coloring him like a finger painting. You sucked off the excess, and he watched as you did so with wonder.
“You’re just so sweet, I can’t get enough of you.” You hushed into him, leaning closer once more.
His eyes fluttered closed, and with his quivering breath, he waited for you to kiss away the taste there, sucking the flavor into your mouth, then going to kiss over his parted mouth. A rather awkward creaking of chairs echoed, and he pulled his body closer to yours, and let you fill him to the brim with kisses in all of the places that you desired. A smile tugged at the corners of his mouth and he even giggled into some of your kisses too. His hands found the sides of your face where he held you there gently. Once he was comfortable, the warm feeling of your tongues met, and he nearly melted from the sensation. Your hands crept around his tiny waist, and you never let go.
It felt like the moment that you had been waiting for.
Your lips broke, and Felix threw his arms over your shoulders again, dipping his head into the crook of your neck where he stayed for a while as you ran your fingers up and down his back.
Outside it was a much colder and harsher world, but here, it was your own kind of paradise, and it was sweet like strawberry.
»»————- ♡ ————-««
At some point, you had fallen asleep together on one of the loveseats: a pile of legs and arms all tangled up together. When the morning came, the snow had subsided, but rather was caught up everywhere in the streets and sidewalks, and sparkled like diamonds.
It was your manager that had woken you up, and of course you had gotten in trouble, not at first for sleeping in the café, but for leaving the all the doors unlocked.

masterlist (one, two)
Tumblr media
I gasped as the costume person pulled out the beautiful black dress I was meant to wear for our run through of Come What May. I couldn’t get over how beautiful my costumes were. I almost felt like I was undeserving of them. I was fresh out of college and already cast in my first big Broadway musical. If this was a dream, I didn’t want to ever wake up.
“You don’t have long to get dressed,” the costume person reminded me. “The dress rehearsal for Come What May is in 10. Although I’d love to see you staring at all your costumes in amazement.”
“I’ll do that after dress rehearsal,” I joked.
I took the black dress and quickly changed into it, longing to look at myself in the mirror but knowing I had no time. With my hair and makeup already finished, I rushed to the stage. Luckily, I wasn’t the only one running a bit late as my co-star was yet to arrive once I took my place.
“There’s our Satine!” the director proclaimed as I stood on stage. “Welcome to the stage, dear. How do you feel?”
“Nervous,” I admitted. “But I look damn good for a nervous girl.”
The director chuckled. “Our Christian should be here soon.”
“He’s here!”
I tried not to seem as starstruck as I felt at the sound of my co-star’s voice. Aaron joined me on stage, dressed in his Christian costume. I had to try my best not to fangirl over him. He was basically Broadway royalty, and I was acting with him in my first show! I had to remind myself how to breathe.
I smiled slightly at him. “Nice to meet you. I’m (Y/N).”
“Nice to meet you, too, (Y/N). I’m Aaron.”
I had to stop myself from responded with I know as I shook his hand.
“While I’d love for you two to get to know one another, I’d like to run Come What May first,” the director told us. “It’s one of the biggest songs in the musical, and the one with the most chemistry. So, we need to nail this song before we can nail the entire musical.”
Aaron and I nodded and took our places for the song. The band started playing the song and I felt my nerves growing. I tried to focus just on Aaron, but that made me even more nervous.
“Never knew I could feel like this Like I’ve never seen the sky before Want to vanish inside your kiss Every day I love you more and more”
No shock that his voice sounded perfect. I already knew this, I had seen the show on its opening night years before. But it was different to hear the voice up close, too have him singing directly to me. It made my heart flutter and I almost forgot my cues.
“Come what may Come what may I will love you until my dying day”
For a moment I feared my voice wouldn’t work, but when I opened my mouth the words came out effortlessly.
“Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace”
I tried not to break character as pride swelled within me at the look on Aaron’s face. I could only describe it as a look of astonishment, as if my voice shocked him, and that made me so proud.
My heart spiked as Aaron took my hands and we sang together
“Storm clouds my gather And stars may collide But I love you (I love you) Until the end of time”
The music swelled as we reached the end of the song, our voices mixing together perfectly as we held the last line. I looked into Aaron’s perfectly blue eyes, glad that the song had ended because he had taken my breath away.
I had forgotten all about the small audience of crew members and our director until he spoke. “That was great! But can we take it from that last chorus and can you guys end the song with the kiss?”
“O-Oh,” I stuttered, still trying to recover from the song. “Y-You want to do the kiss now?”
“It’s better to get the first one out of the way now to get past any initial awkwardness.”
“Are you okay with that?” Aaron asked me, concern on his face.
I nodded. “Yeah. He has a point, we will be kissing almost every night. We should get used to it now.”
The director motioned to the band and they began playing from the last chorus again.
“Come what may Come what may I will love you until my dying day”
I looked into Aaron’s eyes, the only thing keeping me calm in that moment. One of his hands reached up to gently cup my face, bringing me closer to him. The distance between us was small, but it felt like I was waiting for his lips to touch mine forever.
When they finally did, it felt as though something had exploded inside of me. My whole body felt warm and fuzzy, and my stomach felt like it was full of butterflies. I couldn’t stop myself from putting a hand behind his neck, wanting to keep his lips on mine for a long time.
We were forced to pull away when the director began to clap, completely taking us out of the moment.
“That’s what I’m talking about!” he exclaimed. “That was brilliant! See? Now there’ll be no awkwardness when we run that scene from now on.”
I wouldn’t say that, I thought, glancing over at Aaron. I wondered if he had felt what I did, or if it was just another stage kiss for him. If he felt the latter, it would definitely be very awkward for me.
“Okay, you two take five and then (Y/N), I want you ready for your entrance medley.”
The crew continued on about their work while the director turned his attention to his assistant and began talking about the technical stuff having to do with the show. Aaron and I awkwardly stood on stage together for a moment, unsure of what to do next.
“I guess I should go get ready for my entrance rehearsal,” I said, trying my best to look at Aaron. How the hell did two actors who weren’t already in relationships kiss on stage and not fall in love?
“I’ll walk you to your dressing room,” Aaron offered. “We can get to know one another.”
I smiled at this and the two of us exited the stage together.
“So,” Aaron started, “there’s a rumor on the streets that this is your first ever show.”
I nodded. “Yeah, it is. I’m actually not long out of college. I graduated maybe a month ago? Top of my classes because I was always an overachiever, and most of my teacher’s favorites. Actually, it was one of my teachers that got me this audition. She knows the director and when it was announced that Karen Olivo was leaving the show, she urged me to audition.”
“Looks like it worked out in your favor.”
“Yeah, somehow,” I said with a slight laugh. “I’m sure there were dozens of better, more experienced girls who auditioned. My teacher must’ve slipped the director a bribe or something to get me this role.”
“Or, and hear me out on this one, you were actually that good and got the role on your own.”
I shook my head. “No way. That’s nearly impossible.”
“Nearly being the keyword. Newbies gotta start somehow or else Broadway shows would never have a cast.”
“Yeah, but most newbies start as a part of the ensemble or the company, then make their way to very minor character, then less than minor character, and then, if they’re lucky, they become main characters. It’s not as easy as auditioning fresh out of school and getting the role right away.”
Aaron shrugged. “I don’t know, I think it’s that easy for some people. You have a fantastic voice, definitely a voice worth of a Satine and not just an ensemble girl.”
I smiled up at Aaron. “I appreciate the compliment, and the confidence you have in me. I hope I don’t let any of you guys down.”
“I don’t think you will. I think you’re going to be amazing. You’ll probably steal the show from me.”
I laughed at this. There was absolutely no way that I, a newbie, could possibly steal the show from a Broadway vet like Aaron Tveit.
I was sad when we reached my dressing room, although I knew it wasn’t that far of a walk from the stage. I wanted to talk to Aaron for longer, to have more time alone with him. But we were trying to prepare a show, and that meant that eventually I had to give up my time with him in order to rehearse.
Both of us paused outside of my dressing room. It was almost like we were waiting for the other to leave first. I glanced at the clock in my dressing room and sighed upon seeing the time.
“I have about two more minutes to get into my costume for my entrance medley and to get back to the stage. So, I guess this is where we say goodbye.”
“Well, only for now. I’ll be in the audience watching you absolutely destroy that medley, and then we have basically the entire play together that we have to rehearse,” he told me. “But, if you’re not too tired after rehearsal, I’d love to maybe go out and grab a drink with you. If you’d be interested in doing that, that is.”
Now was when my voice stopped working. I could barley believe that this was actually happening. Too many amazing things going on the one time, I was sure I was dreaming. I had to slip my hands behind my back to pinch myself, and I had to suppress a yelp as I realized I was very much awake.
“Yeah,” I finally managed. “I’d love to.”
Aaron’s smile was as wide as a child on Christmas morning. “Okay! Well, I won’t distract you any longer. Break a leg out there.”
I watched after him as he went back in the direction of the stage before hurrying into my dressing room to prepare for my next scene. The entire time I had a smile on my face so wide that my cheeks were starting to hurt.
I guess dreams really do come true.

My One And Only - Chapter 15
Previous | Next | Master List
My gosh, wow! Thank you so much for 100 followers! I never expected to reach this far. And with this chapter, we’ll have finally caught up with it on wattpad!
TW: Injuries being described
The situation in Paris was much, much more serious than they assumed.
————————————————————
Red. He saw red. Ladybug, his Angel was hurt, stabbed, for all of Paris to see. He couldn't stand there and do nothing, oh no. He wouldn't. Damian had to think quickly but logically. 'Father told me I wasn't allowed to bring my Robin uniform but even if I did the citizens would be suspicious. That means...' His eyes landed on the silver ring that was laying peacefully on the coffee table. He reached out and placed it on his right ring finger. It turned a dark grey as a black blur escaped the ring with a green light. It was another kwami, similar to Tikki but it was black and more cat-like. Damian presumed this was 'Plagg', the kwami Tikki talked about earlier. The black kwami yawned and assessed his surroundings in a flash.
"Look-"
"Who are you? Where's Pigtails? How'd you get the miraculous? Do you have any cheese? I'm hungry" Plagg interrupted. The Robin vigilante wasted no time.
"Damian, With an Akuma, She tasked me to take care of the ring and we have better things to worry about your hunger!" He shot back, his voice getting louder after each statement.
"What could be more important than cam... men... bert..." the kwami's voice trailed off as he noticed the screen. Césaire had stopped recording, thank god, but the screen still showed the last frame of the video, it was extremely far from a pretty sight. "This is bad" the kwami panicked.
"Yes, there's no time to lose! Tell me, what do I need to do" he looked at Plagg straight in the eye, showing that he could be trusted.
"To transform you say 'Plagg, Claws Out!'. You have a power you can call upon, 'Cataclysm', and you'll be able to destroy the first object you touch. But it only works once then you have five minutes before you transform back, Make it count!" The kwami was frantic, nothing like this had ever happened before in previous battles.
Damian was already making his way to the balcony "Plagg, Claws Out!" A dark green light engulfed him. He was covered in a black suit, black boots, black gloves with sharp retractable blades, 'Oh how much fun that'll be using them'. He also had a black cape with a hood similar to the one with his Robin costume but instead he had cat ears poking through, a dark grey baton appeared in his hand as well. Almost instantly, he mastered the weapon and launched himself in the direction that Ladybug went earlier. 'I'm on my way Angel. When I get my hands on Hawkmoth, I'll make him suffer. I promise you'
~~~
Ladybug had the situation under control. She had. Something had changed. Hawkmoth must've found a way to boost his powers, it was the only acceptable reason. Otherwise there was no way to penetrate the indestructible suits that the miraculous provided. Yet here she was, forced to watch the horror on her citizens face as a long blade protruded through her chest. The blade held her in the air as she was stabbed from behind. Their expressions, being outsmarted by Hawkmoth and the pain from the injury itself was unbearable for the spotted heroine. She then came to the conclusion that the blade was slowly draining her energy. Hawkmoth planned to have Guerrier collect her miraculous only after watching her suffer. How sickening. 'Hawkmoth, you bitch'
She had to get out of there. She needed to get out of there.
Mustering all the strength she had, she swung her foot at the figure behind her in a strong, hard kick. The long blade was quickly sent back along with the Akuma and Ladybug stumbled forward, one hand on her chest the other swinging her yo-yo to create a shield. Since she was weakened, Guerrier was only sent back a few feet but her kick not only had strength but pure determination. While the Akuma was distracted she looked at the distraught citizens around her.
"For your own safety, please, leave this area!" She tried to sound controlled but instead her voice had a big edge of fear. All the citizens, nonetheless, left. Though, she could see them peaking behind the buildings. Suddenly, Guerrier regained his footing.
Ladybug's eyes shot back in his direction, the nad on her chest clutched into a fist. The miraculous magic was healing her, but it wasn't healing fast enough. She was losing blood. Fast. She tried to use her own powers but that too was draining her energy, the energy couldn't afford lose. She could feel her heartbeat in her ears, she could hear it slowing down. She was panicking, she needed energy to call upon her Luck Charm, she needed energy to fight the Akuma and she needed energy she heal herself. She didn't have enough energy for any of that.
As Guerrier began to approach, her blood was luckily never on the blade, she braced herself for another fight and her vision started to get blurry. just as he was about to go for another swing, a dark grey pole shot out of nowhere, sending the Akuma far from Ladybug. Though she couldn't quite see, she recognised the aura that surrounded the black-hooded figure who was now standing defensively in front of her.
'Damian' she didn't have the strength to speak, she hoped that whatever telepathic link they had the other day would appear again now.
'How are you holding up?' The sound of his voice made relief wash over her like a waterfall. She stopped using her energy on her yo-yo and focused on healing her wound instead.
'Better now that you're here' she stumbled onto her knees, knowing it was safe to do so. 'Remember not to hurt the Akuma too much, Hawkmoth is the real villain here'
'I know' his voice echoed in her ears, 'Speaking of the Akuma, where is it?'
Ladybug's eyes snapped open, observing the fight between the cat and Guerrier. She remembered the blade. The blade that the Akuma was holding. The blade that impaled her. 'It's in...' Now filled with an unusual amount of spite, she snarled "The sword, Noir"
The black-cat themed hero understood immediately and, swiftly but carefully, aimed for Guerrier's hand. In the mean time, Ladybug had enough energy to safely call upon her Lucky Charm. She was given a piece of equipment that she had seen Sabrina's father have. She wasn't sure how to use it as it was still in 'testing phase' as said by Officer Raincomprix. Her Ladybug vision then kicked in and the item as well as Guerrier lit up, she knew what to do.
'Get him to attack you in a high guard motion'
The hooded hero understood the demand immediately and used his pole, now transformed into a 'Cat-ana', to get the Akuma frustrated. It worked perfectly as the black fencer had the sword and the blade above his head, ready to swing. Ladybug then used the moment of vulnerability and threw the lucky charm as if it were a boomerang at the Akuma, the two ends with magnets snapped together, holding Guerrier's arms in place. Though she couldn't see his face, she could tell he was mad. Very, very mad.
Not wanting to waste a moment longer, Damian swiftly grabbed the sword by the handle and swept the Akuma's legs so it hit the ground and had no means of escape. "Cataclysm" It was the first thing he had actually said with his voice during the entire battle and Ladybug has to admit, his voice seemed deeper and huskier. The sword in his other hand had disintegrated to dust, the purple butterfly fluttered from the remains. When Damian had first heard of it, he was completely unconvinced something such as a butterfly could cause devastation. But now, he sensed the ghastly energy that reeked from the creature, it was overwhelming. He only broke out of his trance when Ladybug's yo-yo caught the flying organism and he went to the akumatized victim to take the object Ladybug's Lucky Charm had summoned.
He handed her the item and placed his hands on her shoulders to steady her body as she threw it in the air. "Miraculous Ladybug!" A bunch of bright magical ladybugs swarmed around the area, fixing and healing anyone who got injured, Ladybug included. But the pain didn't quite stop, so she clutched her chest where the wound once was. The Akuma, now destransformed, was a person around their age, it appeared that he was rejected from the fencing club. This theory was confirmed when Adrien, Ladybug was too exhausted to notice him, ran about to the boy.
"Maxime! Maître D'Argencourt said you can join the fencing club" Ladybug and the black-cat themed hero didn't bother to hear what the boy said in reply but Damian did speak to Adrien.
"Make sure he gets to where he needs to be, safely, Adrien" the new hero spoke as the ladybug hero fell back with pure exhaustion in his arms. After seeing the blonde nod, Damian carried Ladybug in his arms and not wanting to waste any more time, used his pole to launch them in the direction of the hotel. Adrien watched wearily at the two heroes until they were out of viewing distance.
As soon as Damian landed on his hotel room balcony, both his and Ladybug's transformations fell. He was still carrying her bridal style and walked inside, gently placing her down on the bed, being mindful and anxious about her injury, while Plagg closed the balcony door. Tikki circled her owner who was now drifting in and out of consciousness. He kneeled by the left side of the bed as Tikki used her kwami magic where the wound once was, Plagg slowly floated to hover next to his new chosen. When Marinette's eyes fluttered upon, both kwamis rejoiced and hugged both her cheeks. She moved so that her body was sitting comfortably with her legs in front of her, she then turned her head slightly towards the black-haired boy who was sitting besides her.
"Dami-"
He cut her off with a gentle hug and he made his way to sit beside her. "Malaki..." the perturb and pure solace in his voice made a lump form in Marinette's throat. He buried his face further into her neck. "You scared me damn it"
She let out a humorless chuckle, her hand unknowingly reached to stroke her fingers through his hair. "I'm sorry..."
Damian pulled away and lightly placed his hand to turn her face. He crashed his lips onto hers and Marinette melted into the kiss. He then pulled away but kept his forehead on her's, their breaths mingling. "Don't apologize when you are not at fault". He opened his eyes to look straight at her. "I know the wound itself is gone, but what about the pain?"
She smiled lovingly at him. "The pain's subsided, for now" Marinette pulled her shirt down a bit to inspect the area surrounding her injury. All that remained was a fading bruise where the wound once was. The bluenette let out a sigh of relief.
"I'm sorry I couldn't heal it fully Marinette" Tikki's voice cut in. "This is your first physical injury from a miraculous so I didn't want to put any more strain on your body"
"It's fine and, thank you Tikki" Marinette reached out to pat the small kwami's head.
"Well to bring some good news" Plagg butted in. "We found my true chosen"
"Really?" Marinette tilted her head.
"Yep it's Damian, the lover boy here" the black kwami flew over to make himself comfortable in his black hair, ignoring Damian's growl, almost camouflaged completely. "I can feel the destruction in his soul like how Tikki can feel the creation in yours Pigtails"
"Yep!" Tikki chimed.
"Now that's over with, I want some Camembert" The black kwami kept chanting 'Camembert' and Damian sighed while getting off the bed to order some.
"Is food all you ever think about?"
"I can't control my hunger, Sugarcube!"
The bluenette watched the two kwami's banter, amused, and began to fully process the akuma attack. To think she was so close to death made her terrified, but she tried to think of the positives. Like how she and Damian could communicate without speaking, per se, or how he managed to call upon a weapon she had never seen before, his Cat-ana. She concluded it was the work of true miraculous magic and didn't question it further. She had something else she needed to think about. 'How do we fight Hawkmoth now? Obviously he's found out how to make his akumas stronger but he wouldn't go for the strongest one first without testing it. That would just be stupid. This akuma must've been a trial run' The thought worried her to no end. 'We were able to fight him off today but that doesn't guarantee us the win each time just by ourselves'
Soon, Damian returned with some Camembert and, unexpectedly, some cookies. When both kwamis flew to the plate and eat, the black-haired boy sat back down next to Marinette. "What are you thinking about?"
"If the Akuma today was just a test run to try out his new powers, Hawkmoth's akumas are going to get deadlier" The bluenette stated
"Then what do you suggest we do?"
She was silent for a few seconds, contemplating her answer. "I believe we should have some others join us on the field, as permanent holders" Damian nodded. "But we can deal with that later, right now I'm tired. Hold me please" the bluenette mumbled.
Damian adjusted himself so that Marinette could lay comfortably on his chest. "Rest well, mon cœur" he hummed and the bluenette slowly drifted to sleep, listening to his heartbeat. Damian averted his eyes to the ceiling, now was the time he could unleash a tiny amount of his anger. His hands turned to fists as he resisted the urge to punch the mattress. He blamed himself for Marinette's injury. 'Maybe if I could have convinced her earlier to use the miraculous then maybe she would not have gotten hurt' Damian forced himself not to dwell on the 'what if's and instead focused on the now, on Marinette. He could kill Hawkmoth later.
Adrien returned home from fencing class. The newest member, Maxime, was first denied entry which resulted in him getting akumatized. The blonde didn't expect the Akuma to be the danger that it was. Usually he would've jumped straight into battle but since he didn't have his miraculous anymore, he was forced to watch. Forced to watch as Ladybug struggled alone, forced to watch as she got injured. He hated not being able to do anything, not being able to save his friend and former partner. Luckily the new black cat stepped in, that was the only good thing he saw throughout the entire battle, except the end of it when the heroes won.
Adrien watched as the new black cat user stepped into battle, he couldn't help but feel a little jealous that he had been replaced so soon but he quickly pushed that feeling away. He wasn't the true user and this new hero probably was, he had no right to any entitlement of the miraculous. The blonde watched in awe at the new cat's fighting style, he looked as if he had been training his entire life for battle. Adrien also didn't fail to notice how Ladybug and the Cat were communicating, non verbally. There may have been words exchanged but Adrien never heard them as he was watching from behind a nearby building. This assumption was correct when Ladybug spoke to the hero verbally.
"The sword, Noir" the snarl coming from Ladybug was frightening to say the least but she did just get stabbed, he couldn't really blame her. The blonde noticed how some citizens around him shivered at the tone of the spotted heroine's voice.
The blonde watched as the new hero, Noir?, fought, more dueled, with Guerrier and couldn't help but be in extreme awe and admiration of this hero's skill. 'Where did Ladybug find him? He's incredible!' Paying even more attention to the battle, Adrien watched as Ladybug used her Lucky Charm to hold the Akuma's arms in place and how Noir swiftly stole the blade.
"Cataclysm"
'Well damn!' Adrien thought.
"His voice is hella attractive, I wanna marry it" he heard a citizen whisper, voicing his own thoughts. Though it did seem bad that that was the only thing they could think about, they had a point.
The usual actions after taking down the Akuma were done, the bright ladybugs healing everything damaged. Adrien ran up to the deakumatized victim.
"Maxime! Maître D'Argencourt said you can join the fencing club" He wanted to distract the boy from the fact that he had done something very wrong during his time of being an akuma, not as if he can remember it anyway. As he was about to leave, he heard Noir's voice again.
"Make sure he gets to where he needs to be, safely, Adrien" The blonde nodded, seeing that Ladybug was exhausted and probably needed to rest. He watched as both heroes bounded away, his gaze resting on where he last saw them both, only snapping out of the trance when Maxime asked what happened.
Adrien hoped that Ladybug wasn't too injured, she's far too valuable and important to be lost, especially at the beginning of, what looks like, Hawkmoth's new rise of power.
"Something tells me things are about to get a lot more serious from here on out"
Love your work❤️❤️ I’m not sure if you write for Rafe but I you do, how about number 79 with him?✌🏼
To the beach - Rafe Cameron
I know you requested this such a long time ago and I'm sorry that I never got to it, but I haven't been on this app for so long and I just recently rewatched the show and wanted to write this<3
Prompt 79: "We'd make such a badass couple"
Prompts
Summary: you convince Rafe to go to the beach with you while you’re both as high as you can be
Warnings: drugs, swearing, violence (just a little fight were sexy Rafe kicks ass), a little sexual but nothing dangerous;)
Not my gif, creds to the owner
Tumblr media
You had always been close with Sarah, ever since you'd met on the playground when you were both five. That meant you'd been to dinner at her house a hundred times and slept over at least a thousand times. Sarah was your best friend and the two of you were rarely seen without the other.
It wasn't until about a year ago that you'd started noticing Rafe Cameron, Sarah's older brother. He'd always been around and he loved to make fun but you'd never seen him as anything more than Sarah's annoying brother. Last summer though, you'd suddenly realized how good-looking he actually was. It had been like a wake-up call for you. One day he was the same he'd always been, and the next he'd walked out to the pool where you and Sarah had been tanning, sending a wink your way, as he often did because he was a tease, and then jumped into the water, looking extremely good. You remembered the way he'd pushed his wet hair aside once he'd reached the surface again, and the way his muscles had tensed when he'd pulled himself out of the pool.
Since then you'd been aware every time Rafe had entered a room and somehow the smirk and winks that couldn't get to you before, now made your knees weak. You hadn't told anyone about this newfound discovery of yours though and it was a secret you intended to keep. It wasn't like you wanted to go anywhere with Rafe, he was your best friend's brother, but you couldn't help sneaking a peak of him from afar from time to time.
Currently, you were in Sarah's room, getting ready for a party. It was a party Topper, Sarah's annoying and overly protective boyfriend, had gotten you and Sarah invited to. You knew a lot of the people who were coming you just didn't know the guy throwing the party. His name was Toby if you remembered correctly, and apparently his parents were out of town for the weekend.
When you arrived at the party, Sarah quickly disappeared somewhere with Topper. He was probably showing her all the things he didn't want her to drink or touch or do. You rolled your eyes at the thought. Sarah knew you weren't Topper's biggest fan, but you never voiced your opinion of him.
You wandered around by yourself for a while until you found a group of people that you knew. You sat with them for a while, laughing and drinking more than you should, until you were pretty wasted. You must've sat there for about an hour when Rafe came and sat down beside you. You weren't surprised to see him, Rafe had always been where the party was.
The sofa you were sitting on was small, so Rafe and you were close once he'd squeezed down in between you and a girl named Carla. Carla was beautiful in such an annoying way. She was the kind of beautiful that made her get all the attention and she never even tried hiding how much she enjoyed it. She knew she was gorgeous and she would always use it to make a big drama. And even though she scooted closer to Rafe the minute he sat down, carefully tracing a finger down his arm while she spoke with a flirtatious tone "hi Rafe", his attention was solely on you.
"Wanna try this?" Rafe asked you as he pulled out a bag of pills from his pocket. You'd taken drugs before, but never with Rafe, and though you knew it was a bad idea and Sarah would kill you, how could you say no?
You starred into Rafe's eyes as you sank a pill. He smirked as he took one as well, before smoothly draping his arm around your shoulders, leaning back on the couch. "Get out of here" Rafe demanded Carla, who'd been looking at you and Rafe with surprised eyes during your whole interaction. She huffed and made a dramatic swing of her hair before walking off towards the kitchen.
You smiled, no one dared stand up to Rafe Cameron. You had no idea why he was there with you, you figured he had lots of other people to do drugs with, but you didn't mind. You casually leaned into him, trying not to make it look like it was intentional, and waited for the room to start spinning.
It surprised you how fast the pill worked. Soon your body relaxed the way it only did when you smoked weed, but it was different from that still. It was like your limbs weighed a hundred pounds, but you still had all the energy in the world. You had a hard time describing the feeling, all you knew was that you liked it.
"I'm gonna go for a swim" you announced after you'd gotten used to the way your brain worked while under the effect of the drug. You rose from the sofa and almost fell to the floor, but Rafe caught you. "Thanks" your words came out blurry as you took Rafe's hand and led him towards the exit. Once you passed the kitchen and kept heading for the front door, Rafe pulled your arm back. "Pool's this way" he pointed to his right. You laughed at him as if he'd said the dumbest thing in the world.
"I don't wanna go in the pool, I wanna go in the ocean" you deadpanned as if it was obvious. "And how will you get to the beach?" Rafe laughed while slowly pulling you closer to him. "You have a bike don't you?" You raised your brows whiled tucking your bottom lip between your teeth. You looked at his lips, lingering them there for a moment before you looked back into his eyes. God, he was so hot.
When he didn't protest, you turned around and started walking again. You immediately spotted Rafe's bike once you were outside, and you ran towards it, excitingly placing yourself on it once you reached it.
"I'm a bit too drunk to drive," Rafe smiled as he reached the bike as well. "It's never stopped you before, come on" you insisted.
It didn't take long for you to convince Rafe to take the two of you to the beach. After all, he wasn't the most responsible person on the island, so after a promise that oh yeah, you'd most definitely be skinny dipping, Rafe was all for it.
Your hands were snaked around Rafe's waist as the wind was blowing through your hair. You closed your eyes, enjoying the feeling of being close to Rafe while driving through the night. The moment was ruined though when you felt your phone buzzing in the back pocket of your pants. You released your grip from around Rafe and pulled out your phone, it was Sarah calling. Instead of answering though, you went to the camera on your phone and took a couple of pictures. Your brain was pretty clouded though, so you chose to listen to the only current reasonable part of your mind, and put your phone back in your pocket before you dropped it.
It didn't take long for you to get to the beach, probably having something to do with Rafe driving way over the speed limit, but life was too good for you to care at the moment. Rafe stopped the engine of his dirtbike and you laughed, kissing his neck once from behind, before jumping off the bike and running towards the water.
Rafe had to take a minute, he was more used to the drugs, so it took a bit longer for him to get affected by them. He was just thanking God or the universe, or whoever the fuck was in charge, that he'd managed to drive here with a somewhat clear mind. The drugs slowly crept in on him now though and when he spotted you laying in the sand, laughing, some ten meters in front of him. There were absolutely no cons for him to go join you.
When you were laying in the sand with your eyes closed, you swore it felt like flying and you couldn't stop laughing. You questioned if you'd ever experienced anything as extraordinary. While Rafe was locking his bike, two guys approached you, drunk and curious as to what you were doing. You didn't notice them until they stood right above you, looking down at you. You opened your eyes and raised yourself in a hurry but your forehead collapsed with one of the guys' noses and you fell down again. You couldn't help but laugh, not even feeling the pain.
"What the fuck! I think she broke my nose" the guy called out. "Dude, chill, I barely bruised it" your laughter had died down to giggles as you rose from the ground. "Shut up! It fucking hurts" the guy raised his voice slightly, but you kept laughing. "I'm sorry, really, it wasn't even on purpose" you blinked repeatedly, trying to see straight.
"Hey! Who the fuck are you?" Rafe roared as he approached you, having finally noticed the guys. "Your girl almost broke my nose dude, fucking bitch" the guy yelled out. It was like Rafe had a switch that went from decent to aggressively angry in a matter of seconds, and he lunched at the guy. His fist landed right in the center of the guy's face, so hard you were able to hear the bones crushing. His nose was definitely broken now. The guy stumbled backward and his friend, who'd been quiet until now, immediately jumped forward, but Rafe grabbed his fist in the air and hit him in the stomach. The guy hunched forward in a cry of pain.
Both guys soon regained strength and though their punches were sloppy due to the obvious intake of alcohol, they managed to get a few good hits at Rafe seeing he wasn't really in his best state either. Everything happened so quickly you barely got to react before Rafe was in a boxing match with two strangers. They hadn't even done anything, why did Rafe freak out?
You didn't wonder for long before you ran to Rafe's side and kicked one of the strangers in the balls, making him instantly fall to the ground. Rafe hit the other right across the jaw and the strength of the punch made him fall to the soft sand as well. Both guys laid whimpering on the ground and Rafe pointed a demanding finger at them, "do not call her a bitch, you fucking losers" he roared before he grabbed your hand and walked in the opposite direction.
Once you were a couple of meters away his demeanor completely changed again, as he looked back at the guys and started laughing. "We'd make such a badass couple" he announced as he wrapped his arm around your shoulders for the second time that night, and pulled you close.
You couldn't help but smile, did he really just say that?
Your brain didn't get a lot of time to overthink what Rafe had just said though before you looked at the ocean and remembered why you were even here in the first place. You smiled like a little girl who'd just gotten a candyfloss and ran towards the ocean. You threw off your shirt while running and stepped out of your pants as you reached the water, wasting n getting in.
You were only in your underwear, but it wasn't nearly as cold as you'd feared. You dived under, getting your hair and face wet, and when you resurfaced two things happened. One, your brain immediately cleared up from the fresh sensation of water in your face, and two, Rafe was standing right in front of you.
You giggled, "wasn't it worth it? Driving all the way? A pool can't compare to this."
Rafe didn't answer, he just looked at you. He was determined to kiss you. He barely registered what you were saying, because all he could think about was kissing you. So he did just that.
Taking you by surprise, he walked forward, grabbed your face, and smashed his lips onto yours. It didn't take you many seconds to realize what was happening and you snaked your arms around his neck, eagerly pulling him closer.
What was even happening? Why would he even want to kiss you, you were younger than him and Sarah was your best friend.
In the back of your mind, you knew this was only for one night and that Rafe was the fuckboy of them all and you were probably just a fun challenge for him, his sister's best friend. But you didn't mind, you were just gonna make tonight last as long as possible and you knew you'd have no regrets in the morning.
The water stopped at your waist, which meant it reached Rafe just to the top of his hips. His hands moved from your face, down your waist, and down to your butt, giving it a squeeze. You gasped and he smoothly sneaked his tongue into your mouth. He grabbed your thighs and lifted you. Your legs wrapped around his waist and the kiss turned rough and heated. His hands stayed on your thighs, holding you up, while his thumbs traced small circles on your skin.
Truth was, Rafe had wanted to kiss you for a while. He had always thought you looked good, but recently his eyes had opened to how good-looking you actually were. God, you were the prettiest girl he'd ever seen.
There was no sound other than the gentle waves and the sound of your mouths moving against each other. Rafe pulled your legs tighter around him and your hands moved to his hair, pulling slightly. You both let out a moan, swallowing each other's sound. You couldn't get enough, it was like you needed more, faster.
There was no way you were having sex with Sarah's brother though. She was never gonna find out about this, but if she did, she would might be able to get over a kiss, but she'd never forgive you or Rafe if you slept together.
Eventually, after what felt like hours, Rafe let go of you and you separated yourself from him. You couldn't help but smile.
You looked up at Rafe who was smiling down at you, moving his hand to tuck a piece of hair behind your ear. You tilted your head, certain that this came close to the best night of your life. You broke the silence after a couple of minutes.
"Hi Rafe" you mimicked Carla's high-pitched voice from earlier and you both started laughing. Rafe shook his head, a smile still playing on his lips as he leaned down and kissed you once before grabbing your hand and you walked back towards the shore.
Secrets and Lights
Summary: Hiding your relationship with Dean has gotten harder the deeper you fall for him. The coming Christmas seems to be your hardest test yet, but will it turn into something so much more than you were expecting?
Pairing: Dean x Reader
Square filled: Secret Relationship for @spnchristmasbingo
Word Count: 1978
Warnings: sexual suggestiveness, a whole lot of fluff
A/N: This was written for @carryonmywaywardcaptain‘s Supernaturally Marvelous Challenge, and my prompt was Christmas Lights.
Tumblr media
Hiding a relationship wasn’t easy, but boy was it fun, especially with Dean.
It was the ultimate adrenaline high. Stealing kisses in cloaked corners, sneaking through hallways in the middle of the night, dropping to your knees in the shower when Sam popped his head in unexpectedly. It felt dangerous and forbidden, which made every touch that much hotter. And, that’s really all it had started out as- heat.
Your relationship had begun under the height of the summer sun, something purely physical, a way to burn off steam for the both of you, an accidental tumble into bed that had ignited into a series of passionate rendezvous. You and Dean hadn’t seen a reason to tell anybody, not when the entirety of your relationship was built off of lips, hands, and...other body parts.
But, the colder weather brought change and an altogether different kind of heat. There were fewer quickies in the Impala and more nights spent in each other’s arms. Fewer furtive glances and more lingering touches. There were nights you stayed up until the early morning just talking, trading the sex for the chance to just listen to him breathe, tracing circles on his chest as he whispered his most personal stories in your ear. The heat between you became deep, it became real, and you knew without a doubt that you were falling in love with him.
That only made it that much harder to keep your relationship a secret. Now, things were different. Now, more than anything else, you didn’t want to hide him. You wanted to show him off, to tell the world, but you couldn’t. That wasn’t what you had agreed, so you kept it a secret because that’s what Dean wanted.
At least that’s what you thought. Little did you know that Dean had something far different in mind, and his plans were already in motion.
Tumblr media
It all came to a head on Christmas. You’d assumed you were going to spend a quiet holiday at home with Sam, Jack, and Cas, but Dean surprised you last minute, telling you to pack your bags for a big family Christmas at Jody’s.
When you got there, he went into full nesting mode, helping the girls trim the tree, secretly tossing a wink your way every time the others were distracted. You smiled back, but inside you were coming unglued. You wanted to stand up, march over there, and kiss him in front of everyone, proud of the fact that the most amazing guy in the world had picked you, but you couldn’t. It was frustrating and exhausting and, frankly, the weight of the secret was just giving you a damn headache. After an hour of trying, and almost failing, to resist the way he pulled you to him like a magnet, you decided to get out of there, feigning sudden fatigue and excusing yourself to go upstairs.
Not surprisingly, that didn’t fool Dean for a second, and he caught up to you before you even reached the hallway. “Hey, you okay?”
“Yeah,” you said, plastering the smile back onto your face, although it was softer this time, more muted. “Just tired from the drive, I think.”
Dean cast a glance over his shoulder, checking the hallway before grabbing your hand and pulling you with him through the closest door. You barely had time to register that it was the laundry room before your back was up against the wall, Dean’s knee between your legs and his lips dragging across your throat. “I can think of a few ways to wake you up.”
You shivered at the low growl that rumbled against your pulse point before you remembered where you were, and why you’d left the living room in the first place. “Dean, we can’t, remember? Everyone’s here.”
He ran his hand up under your shirt, splaying it across your stomach. “So?”
“So,” you laughed, playfully pushing him off you before his hand could start to wander, “you’re bunking with Sam and I’m with Donna. This house is filled with people, and anyone could walk in. We have to be careful.”
His face turned into the most comical pout, and you couldn’t resist sneaking a quick peck to his lips. “Hey, you’re the one who wanted to come for Christmas, and since we can’t tell anyone about us…”
You trailed off, a hidden part of you hoping Dean would say screw it, let’s tell everyone, but he nodded instead, your heart falling a little in response.
“Yeah, you’re right, we’ll be careful.” He leaned down, placing a gentle kiss on your forehead. “You should get some rest. I’ll see you at dinner?”
You nodded, resting your head on his chest for a moment to savor the peace you found there. He wrapped his arms around you, enveloping you, pulling you in, and instantly soothing you, reminding you of just how you’d managed to fall so hard for him so easily. He made you feel wanted, and when you were in his arms, you were home. “Hey, maybe later, we could sneak away...I bet the Impala feels real cozy in the snow.”
His chuckle rumbled against your chest. “Oh, we’re definitely doing that. But, after you rest.”
“Aye, aye,” you joked, pulling away and turning towards the door. You paused before you reached the threshold, turning back and meeting his eyes. “Thanks for checking on me.”
His smile lit up his face, crinkling his eyes as it expanded. “I got you.”
“I got you,” you echoed, repeating the phrase that had become a familiar mantra for the two of you the last few months. “I…” You almost slipped up, almost said the three words you hadn’t quite gotten up the courage to utter yet. “I’ll see you at dinner.”
Tumblr media
The next few hours were filled with a lot more staring off into space than sleeping, but darkness eventually fell, and you got a quick change of clothes before heading downstairs for dinner.
The living room, freshly decorated with a sparkling tree loaded with presents, was deserted, so you made your way into the kitchen where you found Sam, Jody, Donna, Claire, Alex, Jack, Cas, and Patience all gathered around the island.
They looked your way when you entered, Jody shooting you a smile. “Hey there, Y/N. You want to help us decorate some cookies before dinner?”
“Yeah, sure,” you muttered absentmindedly as you scanned the room. “Where’s Dean?”
Donna exchanged a look with Sam and grinned. “Oh, I think he’s outside. Would you mind getting him?”
Nodding, you spun towards the door leading to the backyard. “Yeah, sure.”
You moved to open it on autopilot, your mind already on the alone time with Dean that awaited you later that night, but once the door swung open, every tangible thought flew right out of your brain to be replaced with what could only be described as shocked buffering.
It was an honest to goodness winter wonderland. A forest of Christmas trees were strewn across the yard, with dazzling lights strung through every branch, twinkling and shining onto the soft white snow beneath. As you looked closer at the trees, you began to notice the ornaments hanging on each one: a tiny waffle, you quickly realized was the breakfast you and Dean had made a complete mess of trying to make that weekend Sam was out of town; a cup of tea, which Dean had quickly learned to make to perfection that time you came down with the flu; a pool ball, complete with a tiny scratch on it, just like the one you’d launched across the room when Dean had tried, and failed, to teach you how to play.
There were dozens more spread amongst the trees, all different memories of your relationship with Dean, all moments that had led the two of you to each other.
“You know that pool ball’s my favorite.” You turned at the sound of Dean’s voice, watching him approach you from where he’d been waiting within the trees. “I think that was the day I knew I wanted us to be more than friends.”
“Dean, wait, we can’t,” you rushed out, trying to signal him by gesturing back at the house behind you, but when you turned your head, you saw everyone already watching you, their faces plastered up against the windows.
Dean didn’t seem fazed, continuing to advance towards you. “I lined up the shot for you, thinking you’d just tap it into the rail, but you shot it across the room, up into the wall ten feet away.” He paused and laughed. “I didn’t even know it was possible to scratch a pool ball, but you did. And, the only thing I could think was damn, somehow this girl can make even that look sexy.”
That night, with the pool ball, it was over a year ago, long before you’d gotten together. He must’ve been misremembering. He couldn’t have known then... “Dean, everyone’s watching. They might find out…”
He kissed you before you could finish your thought, zapping the frenzy right out of you and silencing all of your worries with one touch. When he pulled back, he only left a few inches of space between the two of you, his gaze dropping to your lips and then slowly travelling up your face like a caress. “I told everyone about us a month ago, back when I first started planning tonight.”
It took a second for his words to register, and when they did, the realization hit you like a truck. “Wait, they know?! They all know? But, I thought…”
“I know, you thought I wanted to keep us a secret, but I don’t. I’m crazy about you, of course I wanted to tell the world that you’re mine, that I’m lucky enough to get to hold your hand every single day. Besides, I needed their help to plan this whole thing. You know, it’s not as easy to tell a girl you love her as you might think, but Donna and Jody are pretty great with the big gestures. I was coming up empty on any kind of plan until they helped me come up with this whole thing.”
“But, wait, if they’ve known for a month…” And, that’s when it hit you again, the moment you really froze, his words sinking in to leave you speechless for the third time in five minutes. “D...did you just say you love me?”
Dean nodded, grabbing your hands and interlacing his fingers with yours, his eyes shining only for you. His voice was confident and sure, ringing out for the world to hear. “I love you, Y/N. I’m in love with you. The luckiest day of my life was when I somehow got you to want me back. I know we didn’t want to put too much pressure on it, but I need you to know. I’m all in, and it’s okay if you don’t feel the same way yet, but…”
“I love you too.” You rushed the words out, so excited you couldn’t even wait for him to finish. “I’m sorry, I know you probably had this whole speech planned, but I do, Dean. I love you.”
You could hear clapping and cheering behind you as he grinned and pulled you in, but it all faded out the moment his lips touched yours, his kiss making the whole word come to a stop for just a minute.
By the time the world started spinning again, it had started to snow, and everyone rushed out with a flurry of congratulations and hugs. You celebrated with them, but Dean never let go of your hand, holding it proudly and tenderly for everyone to see, the gesture radiating with the only thing bright enough to outshine all of the Christmas lights surrounding you: your love.
Summary: After 50 years, your brothers asked you to come back to Mystic Falls. Katherine seemed to be back again, which is why they both worried about you and want to keep an eye on you. While your brothers tried to find Katherine, you came closer to a greater danger then a psychopathic vampire. A Werewolf.
Chapter Summary:  After Katherine revealed herself to Caroline again, you now knew that she would be at the Masquerade Ball too. Katherine wanted the moonstone, but you and your brothers wouldn't let that happen. Even if they didn't want to let you in on their plan, they finally did and you went to the ball together to get rid of her once and for all. When you met Katherine, it became clear that the moonstone wasn’t her only target - you had to protect Tyler at all costs.
_____________________________________
A bit later you arrived at the ball, accompanied by Jeremy Gilbert, who was also privy to the plan. The Lockwood Mansion was beautifully decorated, Carol or the party planners really exceeded all expectations. From the outside you could already see how well the family was and how important the evening would be for the Lockwoods.
You could feel some looks piercing you both. One especially, as you looked at the entrance to the Lockwood Mansion. Tyler was visibly confused why you would show up with Jeremy, since you knew that the two didn't get along very well.
Jeremy also noticed Tyler's penetrating gaze. "I thought you were just friends, is there finally more now?" he grinned.
You took your mask (X) out of your pocket and put it on. “Don’t be like that, Jer!”  You chuckled.
To Tyler's displeasure too, you and Jeremy were also friends. It was hard to avoid since he was the brother of your Twin's girlfriend. You decided to stay out of their argument as much as possible. But it wasn't always easy to do justice to both friends.
But unlike Tyler, Jeremy knew your secrets. Jeremy knew you were a Vampire and he knew that Tyler was more than just a friend to you and even if the two didn't particularly like each other, Jeremy accepted your feelings and was there for you, because no one else should know how you felt about Tyler. It was nice to have someone from whom you didn't have to keep any secrets.
______________
Jeremy noticed how nervous you were getting with every step you took towards the entrance.
“You ready?” Jeremy asked you, you nodded. “Are you afraid?”
You probably wouldn't admit it to anyone, but you couldn’t really describe your feelings. Today the day had finally come when you and your brothers could finally free yourselves from Katherine. Meanwhile you found yourself on a beautiful Masquerade Ball that you could hardly enjoy, since you would use every free second to make sure Tyler is safe while he’d be flirting with other girls.
“Not of Katherine. She tried to kill me before and failed.” You took Jeremy’s arm. “But I know that something bad is going to happen, I feel it.” You mumbled.
“Gilbert, who’s your stunning partner?” Tyler complimented you while also trying to provoke.
Tyler didn’t looked bad himself, actually he looked really handsome as he faced you in his black suit, it was hard not to stare at him for too long.
You could see how Jer’ rolled his eyes under his mask. “I’ll get us something to drink.”
Now it was time to stick to the plan, find Katherine, distract her and kill her. But when you noticed Tyler's eyes watching Jeremy go, with the corners of his mouth drawn down as he tried to hide his fist, the plan had to wait a second
“Don’t tell me you’re mad because I invited Jeremy.”
“I’m not, I-”
“Hi Tyler, I looked everywhere for you.” Sarah took his hand and smiled flirty.
Suddenly you felt insecure to see Sarah cuddle up to Tyler, it hurt but of course you didn't want anyone to notice, so you did what you could best and turned your pain into anger.
You placed your arm on your hip and your facial features changed.
“Y/N, it’s not like that-”
“Hmh.” You let out and walked passed them, hitting Tyler’s shoulder, then you stopped and turned around.
Even if you were confused about why Tyler was upset with you inviting Jeremy when he was with Sarah, you were more hurt that the others were right, Tyler flirted with everyone and didn't even hide it. He had no right to be mad at you if Sarah was his companion, whom he would probably replace with some other cheerleader later that night.
“You can forget our movie night tomorrow.”
Sarah covered her mouth, trying not to laugh. The moment you said it you wanted to take it back. But now there was no turning back, with faked self-confidence you walked away from them and went in search of Katherine.
______________
After you were out of Tyler's sight, you moved into a corner where no one could see you and took a deep breath. The moment didn't last long, Jeremy found you, luckily, really with drinks in his hands.
Jeremy noticed that something must’ve happened, “Did he become a werewolf yet?”
You took both glasses and emptied them one by one. Jeremy chuckled. “What? You’re under age and I needed it, thanks by the way.”
Jeremy saw Tyler coming inside with Sarah, “Because of-”
“Yeah, lets not talk about that. We’ve a mission, shall we?”
“You should’ve seen the food first, before we die.” Jeremy tried to be funny as he lent you his arm, he made you smile and Tyler noticed from across the room.
______________
Jeremy and you went into the huge Lockwoods garden, which was just as crowded as the house with handsome people, who wouldn't suspect there were vampires among them. They all danced, talked and drunk happily. For a brief moment you wish you were like them, normal.
Jeremy got you out of your thoughts, “You see them?” he asked looking around.
“Well, that’s the fork in the road between you and me, my friend.”
“I hear Damon, look for Caroline and Bonnie.” You commanded while walking to your brothers.
“I don’t hesitate.”
You chuckled. “You sure about that, Brother? I mean you spent 145 years loving her.”
Stefan nodded. “Exactly.”
Damon seemed offended. “I won’t hesitate.”
“Don’t worry, if you will, I definetly won’t.” You kissed his cheek. “Now find her.” You demanded.
“Did I say I missed her?” Damon questioned himself and Stefan couldn’t resist chuckling.
______________
You decide to go back into the house looking for Katherine there while your brothers would look for her outside. You found yourself in the kitchen and Jeremy was right, the food was delicious and so was Carol’s wine you found under the sink.  It wouldn't hurt to open the bottle of wine, even a broken bottle could hurt Katherine, if needed.
The kitchen door opened and you tried to hide the wine bottle behind your back. If the waiters come you would compell them to forget what they saw but it was Tyler.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.”
“Is that my mom’s wine?” He raised an eyebrow.
You stopped hiding the bottle and took a sip to provoke him. “Nope.” You lied.
Tyler smirked and lifted his hand up. You gave him the bottle and rolled your eyes.
He surprised you when he took a sip from the bottle himself. "Now I know why she's been hiding this one for years now." he made you both laugh. “Now there it is.”
When you realized that Tyler meant your smile, you stopped and put on a more serious expression. You couldn’t hide your reddened cheeks though. Visibly ashamed, you looked at the floor and tried to think about how you could get out of here to get Tyler out of the way.
“I’m sorry I forgot movie night.” You ignored his words. He came closer to you and gave you the bottle back, “Did I mention how beautiful you look?”
“Stop that and go back to Sarah.”
“Do I smell jealousy?”
“No. That’s me not caring about your affairs, at all.” You exclaimed.
He bit his lips. “Okay come on.” Tyler grabbed your hand, even though you tried to get him off, he wouldn’t let go. “You owe me a dance.”
You and Tyler went to his father's office, the only room where it was quiet and nobody would disturb, including the only room you were never allowed to enter.
“Tyler, I’ve no time for this. I need to find my brothers.”
You were about to leave the room, but Tyler got in your way. His eyes fixed yours and it seemed impossible to look away. He placed his Hand gently on your cheek. It felt so soft and warm, you wouldn't have expected that from a footballer. You couldn't help but put your head in his hand. It calmed you down and made you feel safe.
“If you don’t want me to see other girls, just say-”
“Hey guys!” Matt thrust in and ruined the moment.
Matt stormed into the office with Amy and Sarah. Uncomfortable and somehow ashamed you took a few steps back, away from Tyler, who was visibly annoyed by Matt's appearance. They had a few bottles in their arms and Matt was already quite drunk.
“Did we interrupt something?” Amy giggled with Matt.
When you saw how jealous Sarah was, you remembered that you were actually on a mission to get rid of another jealous woman in your life, so you had no time to deal with her now
“I’ll see you later. Have fun.” You mumbled.
You passed Tyler who tried to grab your hand, but there was no more than a brief touch. You felt how he looked after you, but there was also no time to look back.
______________
So far the evening has not gone as planned, you didn’t have much time to look for Katherine and it wasn’t easy to concentrate after what just happened in the office - or rather what didn’t happen. Your own jealousy got in the way of your senses until you saw Bonnie walking up the stairs, they found Katherine.
To make sure Katherine wouldn't follow or kill Bonnie, you went up too.
“Did you find her?”
Jeremy joined and you three went to another room, he put a bag on the table and took out the guns.
“Careful with that.” You responded as he jokingly pointed at you. “I’m still faster.” You showed your fangs and smirked.
“Is that?” Jeremy noticed Bonnie’s spell book.
“Yes, it was my ancestor Emily’s.” She confirmed. “The spell I’m doing here is similar to the one that sealed the vampires into the tomb.”
You looked out of the window and clenched your teeth, “I’ll kill him.” Jeremy walked next to you and saw Katherine and Stefan dancing together.
“Bon’, I think you should hurry.” He suggested.
“I’m gonna go get Damon.” You growled.
______________
Finding Damon wasn't difficult, he was just about to tell Caroline what she had to do. Then he escorted you outside.
“Relax, he’s keeping her distracted.”
You crossed your arms, “he could just do that by breaking her neck and dragging her upstairs.” you replied sarcastically.
From far away you could watch the two of them, but not hear them. It was too loud for that. When they suddenly stopped dancing while the music was still playing, you knew something was wrong.
“Y/N, I think it might be your time to shine now.” Damon gave you one last glance, then he walked away.
______________
Katherine was about to walk in your direction, now you had to get her attention as Bonnie wasn't finished with her spell yet. Damon withdrew into the crowd so it wouldn’t be too suspicious but he stayed close enough to step in if he had to.
You took off your mask and stood next to the entrance. You grabbed a waiter and pretended to be talking to him.
“Well, if that isn’t my favorite Twin.” Katherine smirked as she noticed you. “Go away.” She compelled the waiter.
You scoffed. “Thought you just danced with your favorite.”
She crossed her arms, “Nah. Unfortunately, your brother doesn't seem to like me as much as he used to, is that Elena’s or your fault?” Kathrine had to chuckle, it made you shiver not being allowed to rip her heart out. “Either way, I’m planning to get rid of both of you.”
You faked a laugh. “Clearly, you don’t remember our time together, don’t you know how hard it is to get rid of me, Katherine?”
Katherine gave you one of her outrageous smiles. Her smile still seemed inviting and warm, even if you knew she was the devil, you were sure she could still be your brothers' Kryptonite.
“Have fun with you Wolfie, heard you liked him a bit too much.” She winked at you.
You grabbed her arm and pushed her against the wall. “You should know better than provoking me, Katherine. If you even touch Tyler, I'll tear your head off your shoulders.”
Katherine took your arm, it didn't seem easy for her, but in the end she was able to tear herself away from you. "Y/N, dear, people are already looking at us. Where are your manners?" She looked around and came closer to your ear. “That must be the bad influence of Tyler.” She whispered only to provoke you once more now that she knew, you weren’t as strong as her.
Katherine went inside and the guests were still staring at you. While your blood was boiling inside and you wanted nothing more than to get rid of Katherine, Jeremy appeared in the crowd.
“What just happened?”
“Nothing, tell me Bonnie is ready or I’ll have to make a scene again.” You replied and Jeremy nodded. “Good. If something happens, call me. I need to find Tyler.”
______________
When you were inside you looked for Tyler all over the place and still couldn’t find him, until you realized that they could probably still be in his father's office.
You rushed into the office and as you saw Tyler, Matt and even Sarah you were relieved. “You okay, Ty?” You panted and glanced at him.
Tyler nodded and walked over to you, touching your shoulders and seeming more concerned about you. "Are you okay?"
Even if you were good at hiding feelings, you were glad that Katherine’s words were just empty threats, because you were already afraid that she would target Tyler. But when you knew everything was okay, you smiled and let yourself fall into Tyler's arms.
Matt gulped. “Oh isn’t that cute?”
Tyler rolled his eyes and turned around, “Man, what is your problem?”
“Nothing.” Matt replied taking another sip of the glass in his hand while holding a bottle in his other. “I just think you both are funny.”
You too thought Matt's behavior was strange. Tyler turned back to you and tried to ignore Matt. “Wanna go dance now?” He smiled soft and offered his hand.
Matt couldn't hold back his laugh and it seemed that he deliberately spilled a bottle of gin in Tyler's father's office. “Aren’t you two cute?”
“Matt, please stop.” You asked politely. “You know, you can just go to Caroline and ask her to dance too. Maybe then you stop being a dick.”
“Seem’s like you finally have a voice around Tyler.” He chuckled.
You were uncomfortable with Matt's comment but he was right. You were actually very self-confident, but when it came to Tyler, not so much. The friendship was very important to you, but if you confessed your feelings and Tyler didn't feel the same, the friendship would be gone.
“Maybe you should grab some food before you ask her.” Tyler added.
Matt took the family picture that was on the desk and poured gin on it, which made Tyler even more angry. When Matt stopped he was standing in front of Tyler, whom you were holding back.
Tyler squeezed your hand, to assure you he’d not gonna hurt Matt. “I’m not gonna fight you.”
Matt slapped him in the face with a grin. "It's a party man. I'm just kidding." Then he looked at the picture in his hand and hit Tyler again, "Do you remember how your father used to hit you?" He laughed.
You noticed how Tyler could no longer contain himself and so you walked between the two.
“If you say one word now, I’m going to lose it. So go and look for Caroline before you ruin your friendships too.”
“Say’s the girl, dressed like a-” Matt paused and grinned again. “while she just watches how the guy she wants flirts with other women and doesn't even look at her.”
“That’s it!” Tyler growled.
Before Tyler had the chance to come to Matt, you slapped Matt and he fell to the ground knocked out. At that moment you could put the pieces together, Matt's behavior was Katherine's fault. She had compelled him otherwise this wouldn’t make sense but you couldn’t figure out why.
“How did you do that?” Tyler was surprised. You didn’t look like you could knock someone out so effortless.
“Matt failed. If Matt fails, I can’t.” Sarah mumbled.
You looked at her and noticed a knife. “Tyler, look out!”
Tyler turned and Sarah stabbed him in the shoulder. Tyler slapped her away. Sarah landed with her head on the edge of the desk and fell to the floor. Blood slowly poured out of her head.
You tried to hide your face from Tyler when the smell of blood reached your nose. He ran to her and held Sarah's head, trying to stop the bleeding. He mumbled things to himself.
“This can’t be happening!” Tyler panicked.
His heart thudded in his chest. His hands shook. As you could control you face again, you went to Sarah and tried to feel a pulse. But she was dead. He couldn’t look at Sarah any more, he sat in a corner and clutched his hand. He seemed like be choked as he had trouble to breath.
You walked over to him and took his hand, "It's going to be okay, we can fix it.”
“We can’t fix this.” His eyes began to glow in a yellow shade.
Tyler began to growl. He cramped and got on his knees. You got up and took a few steps back while Tyler was on the floor whimpering and growling at the same time.
“What can I do?!” You shouted trying not to cry.
Suddenly it came back to you, The Werewolf Curse. If Tyler killed someone, no matter how, he was going to be a werewolf. That was Katherine's plan, Tyler, the one you loved should be your greatest danger and your death.
Tyler calmed down and even though he could probably kill you, you went over to him and wrapped your arms around him. You helped him get up and told him to go into his room and wait for you.
Knight In Shining Cargo Shorts - JJ Maybank
After meeting the pogues, you head home, only to run into Rafe and Topper. Things get a little out of hand and the one and only JJ Maybank comes to your rescue.
--------------------------------------------------
“I should probably get home soon,” you told the group as you met Kiara’s eyes. Her bottom lip poked out, pouting.
“Please, don’t leave. It’s nice to not be the only girl with all these bozos.”
“Hey!” JJ shouted as a fake gasp fell from Pope’s lips. The bright blue eyes lingered on yours for a moment too long and you looked away to Kie again.
“I have to go. I told my mom I would be home to help her make dinner, so I have to go. It was nice to meet you two,” you told John B and Pope. You have seen the pair around before but were never introduced to each other.
You’ve met JJ a few times before and had just as many conversations. He was always looking at you, but you thought it was because he saw you as a challenge. He probably just wants to hook up with you because he couldn’t get through to Kiara. She is a strong and stubborn girl and he probably thinks you are easier to get to than she is. One time, you and Kie got to talking about the boy and she told you that she thought he had a crush on you, but you didn’t believe it. You were a kook and he was a pogue. How could he ever like you?
Kie stood with you and hugged you before you waved to the guys and left down the little path that led between the two sides of the island. Not many people took this route, but that is why you liked it. You and Kiara walked this way earlier when she begged you to come with her. In no time, you crossed the imaginary boundary that split pogue and kook territory and continued your trek home.
“Hey, y/n!” you heard someone yell in the distance ahead of you. You looked up to see the two blue-eyed blond knob heads, Rafe Cameron and Topper Thornton, coming towards you. You waved at them until they came a bit closer.
“Hey guys!” you shouted as you watched Rafe whisper something to Topper with a sly grin on his face. Topper looked a little wary but nodded nonetheless.
“Where are you headed?” Rafe asked when he stopped in front of you to chat. You stopped and stood with them, not wanting to dash and be rude.
“Oh, I’m going home. What about you guys?” you continued the conversation as you desperately wanted to leave. Topper was about to speak, but Rafe beat him to it.
“We’re just walking around. What were you doing in the cut?” He pressed.
“I was with Kie. She was at that guy’s place, the one who works for your dad.”
“John B,” Topper muttered as he rolled his eyes. You ignored it before speaking again.
“Yeah, well I think I better get going.” You tried to step around and continue your walk home, but a hand on your arm halted your motion. Your eyes darted to the hand and traveled up the arm and to the face of Rafe.
“Don’t go,” he pleaded. “I like talking to you.” You turned back to face him against your better judgment and try to calm down the involuntary butterflies that erupted in your stomach at his last sentence. No one has ever told you that they like talking to you before.
“What do you want to talk about?” you asked the tall boy as his hand fell from your arm down to your hand.
“You.” Your eyebrows furrowed at him before he interlocked his fingers with your own. “I like you, y/n.” You had to think for a minute but as you were thinking, his face came closer to yours, his lips inches from your own.
“Rafe, I don’t know about this. I don’t know about you. I don’t think I like you like you like me.” Your words obviously angered him as his grip on your hand tightened. His jaw clenched and his eyes rolled, and you wanted nothing more than to leave. You reached around to your back pocket with your free hand to try to grab your phone to attempt to fake a phone call to get you out of this, but your pocket was empty. You always put it there and it was not there. You must’ve left it at John B’s.
“Look Rafe, I think I left my phone at John B’s place. How about I go get it and then I will come to your place after dinner and we can talk, okay?” You attempted to leave again, but Rafe wasn’t going to let that happen.
“Let her go, Rafe,” Topper spoke before Rafe shrugged him off.
“You want to go to that dirty pogue’s house? Y/n, are you stupid?” He spat.
“Rafe, that’s enough!” you shouted at him, continuously pulling at your hand and hoping it would slip out of his grasp. His grip only tightened more on your hand, becoming painful the tighter he held on.
“You are a kook, y/n, and you seriously want to go over there to the cut? You can be so much better and you do not need to get involved in all their shit. They are good-for-nothing trash and you are better than that.” Tears pricked your eyes at the pain you were feeling in your hand. The more he spoke, the tighter his grip got.
“Rafe, you’re hurting me,” you mumbled as you looked down at your tightly joined hands.
“And anyway,” you started loudly which took Rafe back a bit, causing him to loosen his grip. You took your chance and tugged your hand free, grabbing it with your other hand to keep it away from him.
“Those pogues you’re referring to are really nice and fun to hang out with unlike you!” you shouted, emphasizing the last word. You saw the anger flash in his eyes before he lunged at you, grabbing your shoulders and shoving you back into a tree. He effectively knocked the breath out of you and a pain shot through your back.
“Rafe,” Topper tried again, but at this point, it was useless.
“You better watch it before you become one of them,” he warned you, but you rolled your eyes, fueling his anger even more.
“And what is so wrong with that?” Rafe raised his hand as if he’s going to slap you and you turned your head and shut your eyes to brace yourself. When you didn’t feel anything and heard a loud thud next to you, you opened your eyes to see JJ on top of Rafe. He had Rafe pinned down as the Cameron boy struggled underneath him.
“Don’t you ever hit her. You got that?” JJ spat in his face before he got off of him and stood up over him. Rafe attempted to fight back, but Topper held him.
“Let’s go. They aren’t important anyway.” Rafe took a minute to actually listen to Topper’s words before listening to them. The pair turned away and left.
“Hey, are you okay?” JJ asked as he looked in your eyes. Tears filled your eyes as you shook your head. He pulled you into his arms as you finally broke. His hand found the back of your head as he stroked your hair calmingly.
“You’re okay now, y/n. He’s gone,” JJ spoke softly into your ear.
“Why are you here? Did you have some gut feeling that I would be in trouble?” You asked into his chest. You felt his arm that was previously around waist leave for a moment before something slipped into your back pocket.
“You left your phone at the chateau.” You hummed in response before soaking up the last bit of his embrace before pulling away.
“Thank you, JJ, but I really need to get going,” you told him as you pressed a quick kiss to his cheek as a thank you.
“Wait, don’t go by yourself. Let me walk you home,” he offered with a genuine smile.
“I don’t know, JJ. You’d really walk all that way with me and then come back on your own?”
“Yeah, I don’t want you to go alone and if I come across them on my way back, I can handle it,” he chuckled and you smiled before wiping away the tears on your face.
“Okay, you can come with me.” JJ pumped his fist in the air in pure joy as you laughed at him. The two of you walked to your home, talking and laughing the whole way there. You would be lying to yourself if you said you weren’t falling for the boy.
“So that’s where you got the necklace from,” you continued the conversation as you two neared your front door.
“Yep, my lucky shark tooth,” he grinned while you guys walked up the steps.
“Well, thank you, JJ. It means a lot that you stood up for me and then walked me home,” you leaned forward, giving him another thank you kiss on the cheek. You pulled away only slightly as you caught his sapphire eyes. They flickered down to your lips, but he didn’t try anything.
“You can kiss me, you know?”
“Are you sure?” he asked as you nodded your head. He wasted no time in pulling you into him and pressing his lips against yours. As bad as Rafe had described him and all other pogues, JJ seemed like a pretty good guy and a good kisser too.
“Thank you, JJ. I’ll see you later,” you told him after breathlessly pulling away from him.
“You’re welcome, y/n. See ya.” You closed the front door of your house before leaning against it with the goofiest grin on your face. That knight in shining cargo shorts definitely had stolen your heart and you did not want it back.
