I am in awe of writers who can keep their stories under 10k words. Especially in awe of people who can write <1k. I have “I can’t shut the fuck up” disease, meaning all of my stories are never less than 20k words

characterizations are so hard like what do you mean i have to accurately interpret and depict a character without reducing them to a single character trait because their lack of screentime makes it nearly impossible to break their character down to reveal depth and complexity, so instead i have to take the five seconds of screentime they do have and spin them into a more complex character that will do them and the people that love their character justice

Because that is a choice - to have a rock formation notoriously difficult to climb hanging above you - as you sleep or have sex with your girlfriend. And to show it to us for the first time in a conversation that sets off Eddies catholic guilt?!

The implication that there is this massive thing - this massive part of you lying dormant but still looming over you and waiting to be climbed - to be summited. That even though the path is a difficult one the view from the top will so be worth it?!
