Some royals shop on their own. Back in 2011-12 I bumped into catherin at Bicester village twice. Once in April/may 2012, then later sometime towards sept/oct (I think). Couldnytell what she was buying, but vaguely remember that one was a fancy shop, the other time it was regular clothes like us and it was same shop I was getting into.

Till 2015/16 she used to shop quite regularly at Oxford highstreet as well. I've seen her at the Topshop, the Zara and once just before Christmas (when surprising noone noticed her or bothered her, but this may be way back 2013 for all I remember).

I was once at a Debenhams where the lady next to me said she was the assistant standing outside while someone was picking out clothes for Sophie. Back then I had no idea who Sophie was so the shopgirl told me she was a royal. I asked if was for something fancy, and the assistant said no, they just pick good deals when they see it.

Seen Bea out and about shipping on her own quite a bit too. But again, I left the UK in 2016, so don't know the latest.

Knew this guy once upon a time who said the men usually shop from certain shops at Jermyn street. Charles has his favorite shoe and suits guy. He gets his shirts made there. The one who made his shoes way back in the 80s still repairs them. William now has a preference for the same for formal wear and shoes. Remember Williams (infamous) desert boots? Yup, from Jermyn street. Bespoke. Now George has them too.

How when he trained, you weren’t hanging out with him. You didn’t save him from the pervert cook ever again… Nor did you help him deal with Luffy’s recklessness.

it was so… empty with you not there anymore. As if his life wasn’t complete. He was with his best friends for life, on his way to fulfill his dreams, and help his captain fulfill his. It was everything he could’ve wished for. Except you. You weren’t there anymore.

On the next island, zoro reluctantly came along with Nami and Robin to help with the supplies shopping. They thought it would be good for him to get out of the ship for a little while. He walked, his head hanging low, his hand perched on the hilt of his katana in case anyone dared to attack him.

Suddenly he heard a familiar voice, he could’ve sworn it was yours. How could he ever forget it? Your tone that always brought comfort to him, whenever you spoke, it put him at ease, no matter what you were talking about. He looked up to see a hooded figure speaking with a merchant, negotiating a price.

His body moved for him, walking towards the person quickly, taking off their hood and staring at them to see if it was you or not.

“What the hell man?! What’s your problem?!” The man yelled at him angrily, swatting his hands away. Zoro sighed heavily, great, now he was hearing things.

He literally jumped over the stands of fruit and tackled you, wrapping his bulky arms around you so tightly you couldn’t even breathe. No, what are you thinking? He totally wasn’t crying!

“Y/n- where the hell were you? And how did you survive? I saw you-“

“Die? Yeah nope that didn’t happen. I’ve been waiting here for a while since I know you guys had planned on coming here.”

“You could’ve sent a letter dammit! And there’s things called den den mushis where a literal fucking snail can call me?!!”

He was mad, happy, sad, confused, but most of all? Relieved, to see you alive, safe, and in his arms again. “Sorry Zoro- but I’m too broke to afford one! I can barely pay for an apple in this expensive town!”

He chuckled a bit, kissing your cheek before leading you out of the stand. “Ahem?! My fruit?!” The hooded man asked before Zoro shot him the nastiest death glare he’d ever experienced. Anddd- that shut him up pretty quickly, sending him running away with fear.

“Come on, I bet everyone’s going to be excited to see you again.. don’t ever do that again or else I’m going to kill you.”

“Ok ok- sorry babe.”

Luffy was never- truly the same after your passing. Watching you take that hit for him as you fell off the cliffs into the steep waterfalls. God he remembered it as if it was yesterday, it kept haunting him, following him, stalking his life.

He still smiled, had his rambunctious attitude, reckless behavior, and meat loving self. But whenever your name was brought up, he wasn’t smiling anymore, in fact, he never could find happiness in hearing about you anymore.

All he could think about was how he let you die. Just like he did with ace. Everyone knew, everyone saw the changes from his old self. They hoped that this new island would help cheer him up, since it had been known for its very delicious meat.

He obviously tagged along with Robin and Sanji to pick out the “best” meat. When he was standing around, struggling not to eat it before Sanji even got a change to cook it, he saw a glimpse of someone he used to know. They looked- just like you!

It took him not even a moment to start running towards the person, turning them around to see that it… it was you!

“Y/N!”

He tackled you down, his arms wrapping several times around you, his face nuzzling into the crook of your neck. “LUFFY!”

Oh god you missed him so much- just to be able to hug him like this again was more than enough to bring life back into your heart again. “How are you here?! I thought you- fell off the cliffs?”

“I did, and Luffy. It wasn’t your fault ok? I’ve been wanting to tell you that for so long. Don’t blame yourself, I was the one that was too angry, and just attacked with no plan. I was the one that got myself almost killed ok? Not you.”

You kissed his forehead, you definitely knew Luffy had been blaming himself this entire time for your “death”. He grinned, peppering your face with his kisses, tickling your cheeks. “Sanji picked out some yummy meat, tonight we’re gonna have a feast!!!”

You smiled at him. Finally, you were home.

I'm not sending this message to be hateful or to criticize but I honestly think that we overrate Charles too much. I like him a lot but I find it exaggerated to put him on the same level as max. Maybe at one time Charles could have reached the same level as Max or really had a rivalry with him but now I think it's too late. he missed his chances. Charles is a very talented driver but not a generational driver. I think he made bad career choices, that he should have left Ferrari because even if the team makes progress, it will never regain its former glory. I think Charles is destined for 2nd place. Especially now that Lando is improving a lot, he is starting to surpass Charles in terms of skill just as his team is surpassing Ferrari. I think Lando will be the one to become Max's rival and win a title before Charles. It must be recognized that Ferrari will always make mistakes, and when she doesn't, it benefits Charles's teammate. I doubt that Charles will be the priority with the arrival of Lewis. Charles should have left Ferrari when it was time, now it's too late. I think that that's too bad. But Charles and Max are absolutely not in the same category, Max is too far ahead of Charles and has been for a very long time. I think it is too late for Charles and Ferrari, they missed their opportunity. I can't see Charles becoming champion in front of Lando or Max

Hello Anon. Not really sure what brought on these thoughts, but I respectfully disagree with several of your points.

Not a generational driver? To be honest, I think that term is overused and puts unnecessary expectations on a driver. So much also depends on having the right car, the right people pushing you forward, the right mindset, the right opportunities. Maybe THE generational driver is a woman who only drove karts for fun and never pursued a career in professional racing.

Should've left Ferrari? Where exactly do you suggest Charles should've gone in the last 5 years? Red Bull? Already have a number 1 driver in Max. Mercedes? Had a number 1 in Lewis, and then their car was shit for a long time. George only has 1 win under his belt. McLaren? Also shit for the longest time and Lando is their golden boy who only just this year got his first win. Ferrari may have fumbled some opportunities, but Charles is the only one with a Top 3 finish in the WDC in the past 5 years from a team that is not Red Bull or Mercedes. And besides that, he is a Ferrari man through and through, something I wrote about in early December - a couple of months before his new contract was announced:

Not number 1 priority at Ferrari once Lewis arrives? It's possible. Only time will tell. But Ferrari does not give long contracts like they've given to Charles to anyone else, so there's that.

Not in the same category? It's true that Max is far ahead, just like Red Bull has been ahead of Ferrari. At the same time, it's not like anyone else has been able to come close to Max and the RBR's car's superiority until recently. Fred is doing a fine job making improvements in the team, but it takes a while to turn the ship around.

Lando to become champion before Charles? Again, it's possible, because a lot depends on the car they drive. It takes a combination of a skilled driver and a fast car, as we have seen with Checo not being able to do what Max can with the same car, and Lando not winning any races in an inferior McLaren. The experience driving a fast car may need to be developed as well, and Charles certainly is not the only one who has made mistakes under pressure. I literally just finished watching a race where George and Lando both made mistakes that cost them the lead in a race either of them could've won.

I know why it’s popular, the good girl/bad boy trope has been popular for a long time or the opposing sides of conflict trope but this is something I cannot get behind

As someone who values canon a lot and while I love fanfiction I mainly refer to canon when talking about actual characters. 

Some of my reasons:

• They showed absolutely 0 interest in eachother. Both hated absolutely everything about one other and not even in the enemies-to-lovers could be way. They were just plainly not interested.

• While Draco became a Death Eater because Voldemort wanted to punish his father he was still an extreme blood purist and fully believed in all of the discriminatory views. He wouldn’t want a „mudblood” 

• Draco bullied Hermione. I mean he bullied all of the golden trio but I think that Draco’s bullying towards Hermione was especially cruel when he would constantly call her a terrible slur, comment on it, wish her death and comment on her looks.

• The characters only work together when a LOT of their personality traits get changed and they become too OOC for me

• Most of what I saw of this ship didn’t even fall under the good girl/bad boy trope, rather bully/victim or master/slave

• When you have to force two characters into drastic and uncomfortable situations for them to even see that there might be a possibility of something different than hatred the ship becomes a bit forced for me

• Definitely some of it came from the actors themselves in the movies. When I see blooper of Tom and Emma those really can be cute but only when the characters they play are out of the picture. 

And outside of my personal opinion and just a general one: Jegulus

One of the most illogical yet somehow popular ships. We barely get told anything about Regulus yet a lot of people made up his whole personality and decided that James would be crazy over him… ( it’s not like… he was crazy in love about someone else right? Lily? Or like he had an extremely close best friend that would make a much better choice for a ship? )

i love their individual dynamics and these just get enhanced when all three of them are together.

like toby acts all tough with tommy even though he clearly has a crush on tommy, but with scar, toby doesn't even try to hide, stuttering and kicking his feet at the minimum interaction. tommy is oblivious to everything, but he loves to tease toby, and more often than not ends up flustering himself when toby pokes a snarky remark back ("why are you blushing, toby? is it because scar called you a good boy?" "i bet you'd love to be scar's good boy too, asshole"). scar is in the middle of the two, equal times dumb and wise, and mostly chuckles at the two best friends arguing over everything - until scar tells them to "stop and come over here."

i like to think scar is demanding with them, because otherwise he'd completely lose their attention, but scar is so soft and gentle that sometimes tommy and toby feel obligated to take matters into their own hands and boss scar around. it's a constant and playful fight for dominance with lots of teasing and poking.

scar 100% calls them "kids/lil' boys" as well. somehow tommy always gets more embarrassed than toby.

toby loves to be praised by scar and sometimes gets so cock drunk that he momentarily forgets scar can't take everything he's willing to give, turning scar into a breathless, sobbing mess. toby calls him sir, daddy, king, ryan, and each nickname sends shivers down scar's spine.

tommy is always eager and desperate. he's not much of a dirty talker, although he loves to hear toby and scar talking either to him or to each other, but he's so frantic to take off his clothes and kiss and touch and moan and beg for more and more that toby often restrains him so toby and scar can enjoy for longer without having to worry about tommy finishing too soon and losing most of the fun.

scar feels borderline powerful when he's bossing the other two around. he thinks that there's basically nothing at this point that toby and tommy wouldn't do if scar told them to. sometimes just watching they follow scar's orders is enough to bring scar to the edge - he likes obedient little boys, as we all know.

I really like Tommy's character. I love how soft he is with Buck. I think he's a great first queer romance for Buck. I'm still on the Buddie endgame train. This season has somehow put me even more in the Buddie endgame camp, but that doesn't mean I don't want there to be a journey to get there.

If they break up because Tommy tells Buck that Buck has feelings for Buddie I will enjoy it because, shockingly, I like the show and I trust the writers.

They can tell because, unlike you, I'm authentic and vulnerable. You are so stuck on objectifying him you can't even acknowledge very real, very raw aspects of him. The walls in the house were too thin and the rooms were too close together to offer any real privacy. That had been something Jason had learned very quickly. That being said, that hadn��t deterred James and Jason too much. Jason found himself resting against the headboard of James’ bed, the door locked and sunlight pooling in through the window. 

Normally, they did this at night, hoping the others were asleep by that point and may stay asleep. Jason definitely hadn’t been complaining when James nudged him into his bedroom and pressed close to him. He imagined them hearing, knowing that he was getting to fuck James and hearing how good it was. How James was letting him do this. 

“Fuck, who cares?” Jason managed to say once his brain and mouth started working together again. “Let them hear. They’ll know how good it feels to fuck you,” He rambled and it was James’ turn to moan a bit too loudly, and that filled Jason with a lot of pride. He loved seeing how many sounds he could draw out.

Joker has daily bruised knuckles and busted lips with all the brawls he gets into before and/or after matches. The referee just raises an eyebrow seeing Joker's handsome face all cut & swollen. The other players look worse. Not his problem "LET THE GAME BEGIN!" 🏐💢

And it’s all because J is cocky. It's proper game etiquette; no swearing or trash talking, buuuuuuuut there’s no rules regarding his mannerisms. The net separates him from the other team but his taunts and glares are well received. Hence the brawls and trash talk OFF the court.

Joker’s cocky smile makes the girls swoon and his opponent’s blood boil. Think of a bad boy persona playing volleyball, its straight off an anime show!

Joker’s coach is about had it with his star player coming to practice with a new shiner or another broken nose yet J cracks it back into place every time. Whatever happened to a gentleman’s game? 

The coach is tempted to kick J off the team but he's that good of a player they can't afford to lose him.

Let’s talk positions! Joker prefers to be the setter since his serve is like a canon with the way he jumps and sends that ball flying. Nine times out of ten his team scores a point when he serves the ball.

It's a fast-paced game that requires quick thinking and decision making; right up Joker’s alley. Baby daddy got skillz!

His green eyes are darting all over the court, seeing where his teammates are, where the ball is, where it's going, and what orders he needs to bark out to his team to secure the win.

When it's time to switch positions, he usually moves to the middle or opposite hitter, but remains in charge; still calling the shots much to the confusion of the opposing team. 

Side note: I think for this head canon it would be weird if Joker has his signature scars (OR OR! hear me out; he got cut in a street fight but its not a jester smile, kinda like a sexy scar down his cheek? I think any scar is sexy but back to the hc)

He most definitely he dyes his hair green and probably keeps it in some sort of low ponytail or manbun so its out of the way when he plays but still long enough for you to pull during se- AHEM! The girls in the audience are feral for him but he has eyes only for you. 

Before every match and/or tournament, J’s eyes are scanning the crowd for you. You’re his number one fan and his good luck charm.

One time you couldn’t make a match and his team lost horribly. Ever since Joker demanded you be in attendance (and his teammates secretly bribe you to come just to keep their Captain in high spirits and so they can win)

The group of six are inseparable and you respect their strong bond. You don't compete for J's attention. You understand that volleyball is everything to J but you are runner up for the top priority in his life. Never question that.

Joker has a bad first round and his eyes are like magnets finding yours in the audience. You flash him a smile and wave (much to his fanclub’s ire) and he's got an instant shot of motivation to annihilate the other team. And he does without fail all because you're watching.

He's a heartthrob, tall, alethic, with an arrogant attitude that oozes BDE, of course he’s gonna show off for his girl, in fact he loves to. J is over the moon in love with you and he wants everyone to know that. A proud simp.

You treat him to a winner’s kiss away from the press and offer to give Joker a massage if he wants some relief for his sore muscles.

If he has time, he'll take you up on your offer but often times the coach drags him into the locker room to go over game mistakes to improve on. Joker just grins as he's dragged off, sending you air kisses like the lovesick idiot he is. This is all going according to plan..

You use the long locker room meeting to sneak into J's hotel room and set up for his post-game surprise and he’s never been the same sense.

He held his hotel keycard up onto the scanner and sighed when the cool AC hit his tired, weary body.

It had been a long day of matches beginning at 6am. He scarfed down a breakfast, sent you a text message before warming up with the boys, before entering back to back matches. 

He hadn't had the time to do anything else let alone check his phone for your response, but you knew how hectic his game days could get and you weren't upset by it.

Joker couldn't find you in the crowd since it was a bigger tournament but he felt your presence and that helped him and his team score win after win. 

Between all the handshakes, acts of sportsmanship, and post-game media coverage; Joker was exhausted. He loves to play the game, not be the media mascot for the team. That was usually Mac’s role. The blond loved talking to interviewers etc. and soaking up attention.

Even if Joker is the Captain, he could care less about the mayhem that followed after a game. Ain't that what coaches were for?

Joker just wanted to grab a bite to eat (check on you) and crash before he starts this all over in the morning. 

He dropped his bag on the floor and walked further into his hotel suite but stopped short when he saw you lying on his bed.

You found his spare jersey and wore it over a long sleeve shirt. But those lewd shorts, now that was all you. They hugged your figure a little too well.

You even wore elbow and knee pads with your hair up in braids. And because you always did things 100% or not at all, you posed on the bed with a volleyball perched under your arm.

So what if he was five minutes late in the morning? His teammates understood the second they saw the love bites you left on his neck. Joker took it all in stride and boasted that they were 'good luck charms.'

All they needed to do was win today's matches to win it all.

Of course they won the tournament. Joker swears up and down it was because you let him score the night before.

I’ve just finished a rewatch of GG, and I’m really in the mood for a Lorelai/Luke baby-fic.

Do you have any recommendations?

Hi friend!!!! I'm sorry it took me so long to reply to this, but I did *research* in preparation for it. And honestly, I am the worst person to ask about this because my ability to focus well enough to read has completely degraded over time--probably due partly to tech-addled distractiveness (it's genuinely alarming how much time I spend on my laptop), but mostly due to the Adderall shortage and how poorly my replacement ADHD meds fill in that gap. So in the last few years, I've almost entirely stopped reading, especially compared to the bookworm child and book hoarding adult I used to be.

I subscribe to amazing authors on AO3, but since I don't feel up to reading, I have a system: whenever I get notifications of their new work in my email, I open the new stories and bookmark them. I therefore have a giant collection at this point on AO3, a 'tbr' pile of fanfic not dissimilar from my endless watchlist or my nearly 8k onetab hoard that needs dealing with. Which will be nice for me someday when I actually explore them, but isn't at all helpful for reccing needs.

The second reason I'm not your best bet for this specific query is that while I have definitely read GG fic, I rarely read baby-fic of any kind. I don't avoid it, but I also don't seek it out...so when you asked, I couldn't recall if I had ever read a Luke/Lorelai one. (Comparatively, I come across them--and have even occasionally written them--for other ships more often, like Josh/Donna.)

So, since my memory isn't that great, but the internet's memory can be very helpful that way, I headed to my AO3 history. I went through fifty-four pages of my entire reading history for you, just to be absolutely sure I wouldn't miss anything. (And while I have read fic that people posted elsewhere, it happens very very rarely, so my AO3 history is a better indicator.)

Therefore, based on my thorough research, I can say that unhelpfully I don't have a single L/L baby-fic to recommend, because I've never read any! Let alone decided on some favorites. So I'm hoping this will inspire anybody who reads this to add *their* recs if they have them, in comments or reblogs or even by sending them to me if that's easier. (Anons go crazy, my submissions are open too.) I hope you find some good ones to read after all. :)
