Cg!Charlie x Little!Dead Poets

He did not start out as one of the group Caregivers

He was kind of like a fun uncle instead

Originally, Neil, Meeks, and Mr. Keating were the only three who would look after the Poets

They didn't really trust any of the others to be fully responsible with them, even if they didn't say it

So they would rotate schedules, and it worked pretty well for a while

Eventually, there was a particularly stressful day that sent both Neil and Meeks into an involuntary regression and Mr. Keating was in and out of Parent Teacher conferences all day

The others really didn't know what to do, so Charlie stepped in

He made sure Neil and Meeks were comforted and happy and spent the whole day taking care of them and any of the others who had regressed

And when Mr. Keating came to check on them that night, he found them all in a sleeping pile in Charlie's room

After thar, Charlie just slowly became one of the main group Caregivers

The others would come to him for snuggles or comfort or even just to play a silly game

And he took to it like it was second nature

General Cg!Charlie Headcannons

As seen in the movie, he's a silly guy, but he can be serious when needed

This is also true when he is Caregiving

He's very good at distracting his Littles, keeping their minds off of their Big responsibilities and helping them stay regressed.

He's a very big fan of using your imagination, and he loves getting his Littles to tell him a story instead of the other way around

He has specific toys and boxes set aside for each of the other Poets with things he knows they love, sensory things, stuffies, books, even some snacks whenever he can sneak them in

His style of Caregiving tends to vary slightly from Poet to Poet, he's very good at adapting to their specific needs

However the one thing that stays true is that he is very protective of his Littles

He doesn't like when people are rude or even teasing to them and tends to snap right back

When the Littles are regressed he usually just keeps them in one of their rooms to play, but that can get cramped so he also takes them out to the green areas on campus or even the cave

He makes sure to keep a close eye on all of them, as one time Pitts and Meeks snuck off and somehow ended up in the river

He started to become much more cautious after becoming one of the group Caregivers, always keeping bandaids in his pockets and a close eye on his Poets.

He prefers it when one of the other Cgs are with him to help keep the group in check, but it's not a necessity!

Cg!Charlie x Little!Meeks 🔬🎵

Charlie and Meeks have always been close

And before he became a group Cg, Charlie was Meeks's Cg

Meeks was a bit jealous about all of the attention Charlie was giving the others, but after a long conversation they sorted it out

While Charlie is not very good at science, he puts a lot of effort into making little experiments for Meeks (with a lot of help from Pitts)

Meeks especially likes things that he can physically see, like mini eruptions, changes in color, fizzing, any kind of reaction

Charlie actually absorbs quite a bit of knowledge from these "experiments ", and it helps him in class

Meeks isn't very big on cuddling, unless he's tired. Then he's practically a snuggle bug

Charlie's a very physically affectionate Cg, but he tones it down with Meeks as it's really not his thing

Cg!Charlie × Little!Neil 🎭💭

Usually, Neil tries to keep his feelings subdued and make himself smaller

But not with Charlie

Charlie knows exactly what to do to make Neil let loose without any worries

Which actually ends up being a bit more of an issue as now Neil is running around and letting out all the emotions he can't when he's big

But Charlie would rather he be a bit rambunctious than keep his emotions bottled up

Neil also doesn't have much of a filter when he's small, so Charlie tends to keep a much closer eye on him and who he's talking to

He reminds him that sometimes his opinions can be taken as a bit rude, but at the end of the day he always means we'll so Charlie decides not to stress too hard about it

Neil also doesn't really have to talk for Charlie to know what he needs

It's almost second nature at this point

He'll be tired and scoot up to Charlie, only to be scooped up into his arms and rocked gently until he falls asleep

Knox is a very grumpy Little

Which is just fine with Charlie, he loves the challenge of making him laugh

Surefire ways of cheering up Knox include: picking him up and spinning in a circle, playing pretend, reading him a silly story and (if all else fails) just sitting there and listening

Sometimes Knox needs a healthy outlet for his big emotions, which Charlie is happy to give him

He gives him paper to write on, draw on, even to rip up

9 times out of 10, it helps get most of the icky feelings out

He sets a pretty strict bed time up for Knox, as if he doesn't sleep he gets a bit snappy

The bed time routine is Knox's favorite part of the day when he's regressed

He takes a shower and gets into his comfiest pajamas, Charlie brings his special blanket to tuck him in, reads him a story, and then holds him till he falls asleep

It's the perfect end to a usually stressful day

Cg!Charlie x Little!Todd✒️🐤

While Todd and Charlie have known each other for the shortest amount of time out of all the Poets, Todd imprinted on him very fast

As such, Charlie is very protective of him

If they're outside he keeps Todd close to his side, which is fine because Todd doesn't want to go anywhere else

While Todd is very shy when big, and usually also when regressed, he's not with Charlie

He'll babble on for hours while Charlie brushes his hair or helps him fold clothes

Charlie finds that if he or Neil are in the room, Todd is a lot more outgoing with the other Poets

He does tend to cling a bit, mostly holding Charlie's hand or the hem of his shirt

Charlie thinks it's adorable

He and Todd tend to talk a lot about stories and poetry, especially when Todd is regressed

He'll bring his notebook for Charlie to look through, pointing out specific passages he's proud of or sometimes even getting Neil to act out a verse for him

Charlie thinks it's the best thing in the world

He keeps little gold star stickers in his room to stick in the notebook

Pitts is a very quiet regressor when he's not with Meeks

Not really shy, just quiet

Charlie doesn't really know how to interact with him at first, as Pitts would just kind of stare up at him with big, curious eyes whenever he'd try to start a conversation

Eventually he realised that all Pitts really wanted was to be talked to, even if he didn't respond

After that, Charlie would just talk to him whenever he was around, chattering about his day, or the cafeteria food, or even the day's Latin lesson

Pitts loves it

He also loves whenever Charlie makes It his mission to get him to giggle

That always leads to a fun day

Charlie is also the only one who can watch both Pitts and Meeks at the same time by himself, as they can be quite chaotic

These two had the hardest time trusting each other

Mostly because Cameron thought Charlie hated him when he was big, so he tended to shy away from him while regressed

This made Charlie realise he was being a bit too harsh on him and try to tone it down

Eventually the two had to have a long discussion because Cameron ran off to the cave by himself because he thought Charlie was mad at him

Charlie reassured him and told him he wasn't in trouble, he didn't hate him, and everything would be okay

After that, Cameron was much more comfortable around him

In fact, Charlie is the only Cg that Cameron will let pick him up

Charlie makes sure to slip lots of positive reassurances into their conversations

Cameron is a big babbler when regressed, so most of the time he and Todd will just sit on the floor with Charlie and babble away

Charlie always makes sure to be very interested in whatever they are talking about.

i’m answering these for clive since i’m the most mentally ill about him right now 👁️👁️

🥺: how long have you two been together?

about four to five years or so

❤️: any talk of marriage?

not in any official capacity. though vows may have been whispered to each other on a particularly romantic evening. our souls are both intertwined for the rest of eternity ^_^

🕊️: any pets?

TORGAL!!!!!!! the most loyal and fluffy hound in all of valisthea. so warm and cuddly. such a good boy. i enjoy feeding him lots of treats. clive’s heart always aches seeing the two of us snuggled up together napping.

i also have a habit of caring for any strays that wander about

🫂: do you two live together?

yes!

💌: if yes to the last question - how long?

technically we’ve been living in the same place together since he arrived to the hideaway but we didn’t start sharing chambers together til a short while after we starting dating.

💭: where did you two meet?

the infirmary 😭 i was working as an apprentice under tarja at the time and aided in tending to jill when cid brought her in.

after completing my training i started going on assignments as a healer and would often join clive n co. 😌

🥰: have you met their family? have they met yours?

i have!!! i’ve met joshua, jill, his uncle and his mother (unfortunately). did not get to meet his father before his passing, sadly (RIP TO A DILF 😔)

i simply do not have living family in most of my selfships 😭😭 so he has not met any of my relatives

😜: who is the silly one who jokes and laughs a lot?

definitely me 😔 it’s always 50/50 on whether my jokes hit or not.

clive is funny but it’s always unintentional (whereas i’ll put in effort to make people laugh) he’ll do or say something and get a giggle out of me and be like ???

😯: have you two ever taken a road trip/vacation?

not intentionally. we’ve traveled lots of places but never for leisure because we’re both such busy bees. if we’re both not out on assignments we’re usually still working. i spend most of my time in the infirmary than not.

that being said, i do make note of all the scenic places we visit to bookmark them for when more peaceful times come. the first place i’d want us to go to together is the sea. i feel the most at peace there.

😠: what’s the worst fight you’ve had?

we both have a habit of running into danger especially when the other’s life is at stake heh heh i’d say the worst outburst was during one particular scare clive gave me with his injuries.

after patching him up i became sort of passive aggressive towards him and when he calls me out on it i kind of blow up about how he can be really reckless sometimes, that i understand the importance of destroying the mother crystals but his safety will always be most important to me (as selfish as it is) and it ends up with me sobbing in his arms crying about how if anything ever happened to him i don’t know if i could go on.

obviously he’s very powerful but i can’t help but worry!!!!!!

clive is a man of necessity for the most part and while i’m not reckless per-say, if i’m out and have the money to buy a little trinket i probably will 😭

tbh i don’t know which love language of mine is the one that i need most so honestly idk!!! 😭 i am the most greedy for love angel throughout the heavens

imo, clive is big on words of affirmation. gentle reminders that he’s not actually the big bad monster he often thinks he is. just sticking by him throughout everything means a lot.

😽: who likes pda?

we both do! though clive is more reserved than i. i kinda get in fits where i’m overwhelmed with energy and need to melt into him like butter and crawl all over him. there’s no containing me at that point.

though most of the time in public it’s just me holding him from behind or hugs. his embrace is always really comforting and calming and he always indulges me ^_^

though he won’t initiate kisses in front of others cause it makes him embarrassed. i’m always the one pressing a chaste kiss to his lips after finishing up in the dining hall, leaving him in his flustered state with the rest of our dining companions.

🛏️: who stays up late? goes to bed early?

depends on the day tbh. i’m the one who usually tries to go to sleep early, since i love mornings. sometimes we’re both up late working, or plagued with thoughts of the past. i usually fall asleep before he does regardless of what time it is while he keeps a watchful eye over my sleeping form.

😘: any pet names they call you? you call them?

clive and i are both chronic calling each other by their name type people 😭

but in more intimate settings, he’ll call me angel and i’ll let a baby or two slip out

👄: talk about your first or best kiss thus far

first kiss!! first kiss!!!

okay so it wasn’t long before we started dating. he had gotten injured while he was out and had to visit the infirmary. tarja wasn’t in and i was the only one running things. he had a few gashes that needed to be stitched as well as a few abrasions.

after 13 long years of fighting, i was the first gentle and “loving” touch he had. we’d friends for a short while at that point, some mutual pining going on though neither of us were acting on it.

at that point he was still in the mentality of not thinking he was deserving of any kindness due to what happened in his past. so when i come around gently stitching up his and tending to his other wounds, he’s taken aback. plus i may have been chastising him on being more careful cause there’s people around the hideaway (me) who worry for his safety and bla bla bla.

basically he gets overwhelmed with feeling and doesn’t know how to deal with it other than pulling me for a kiss. (mid stitch mind you!!! he was lucky no further damage was caused)
