part two: pathetic

London was absolutely beautiful. You’d always dreamed of coming here- simply exploring anywhere out of America really. It was so fun being in a foreign place hearing silly accents all day, you loved it. You wanted nothing more than to do a world tour for your debut album but your label decided to play it safe by only touring around North America. Now that you were here, you dreamed bigger and would try your hardest to gain the fan base it took to have a world tour. Traveling was honestly one of the best perks of being famous.

It was a word you were still getting used to as it almost felt shallow to refer to yourself as such. Though it was true. You were famous. Having that interaction with Hugh and Ryan yesterday made the reality sink in even more. Two men who had been in the industry for decades knew who you were, it was mind boggling to put it simply. The embarrassment seemed to keep creeping in when you would remember your interaction between the two men yesterday. The yelp of surprise and the quick, but loud, ‘holy shit’ that was thrown from your mouth involuntarily made you cringe. Hugh asking about Pedro was something you weren’t prepared for at all either. It made sense for him to ask, if he was a close friend of Pedro’s then your name being brought up didn’t seem like the oddest thing. However, never meeting Hugh before, you wished the conversation could have been different. 

Ugh stupid hot, tall, older, Australian man that could sing. He was literally everything you found attractive bundled up into one man. You had a brief obsession with The Greatest Showman, as every theater kid did, but your celebrity crush of the movie was Zac Efron. If only freshman you could see current you, she’d probably laugh. 

Hugh had been on your mind all night and hadn’t left since you woke up this morning. If you could remember, you’d be certain he was the focus of your dreams too. The following and the comment was shocking to say the least. From Ryan’s words, they were fans but why did he follow you after he had met you instead of before. Ha, as you think about it more, it probably wasn’t even him. It was more than likely someone who was hired to run his socials, just like the person on your team that posted that photo for you. You were definitely overthinking it all…This morning when you were brushing your teeth, you kept trying to remember the feeling of his big hand on the base of your spine. It was all a bit pathetic. 

“Helloooo…earth to y/n.” Ashley, your best friend, says as she snaps her fingers in front of your face. “Are you going to tell me what has you all spaced out or do I have to deal with you moping around this entire trip?” There's a hint of annoyance in her voice. 

Ashley has been your best friend since middle school. She was always your number one supporter, so in return, you take her almost everywhere with you. Of course you invited her to London and of course she planned an entire itinerary around your busy work schedule. Her company was appreciated but it was impossible to hide your emotions from her, making moments like this difficult. 

“I’m sorry. It’s nothing really, it can wait until later.” If the two of you weren’t sitting in the middle of a small cafe, you would have told her every single thought that sat in your brain, but you couldn’t. You never knew who was listening in on your conversations. That became something you had to get used to, not being able to exist in public. It usually wasn’t too bad, for example, you could sit in a cafe with your best friend but sometimes things got out of hand and you couldn’t even walk down the street.

“Okay, you better.” She gave you an understanding nod. “So, I bought us tickets to go on the London Eye at 2pm then I thought we could go grab a late lunch or dinner, whatever you-��� You’re looking at her and nodding trying your best to pay attention but you can’t. You hated the way one singular interaction with Hugh had your entire day scrambled. If you ever saw him again, you’d have to tell him off for being so hot and ruining the fun London trip you had planned.

The wait for the London Eye ended up taking an extra forty five minutes and Ashley was pissed. She was a very schedule oriented person, one minute off and she’s stressed the fuck out. The entire time we waited, she complained and would have had the king on the phone if you hadn't stopped her. Her mood was unchanged by the time you stepped into your private cart.

“If I tell you all of my boy drama, would it make you calm down and enjoy the ride?” You ask slyly as you look down at the water below as the wheel starts to move the bubble you’re sitting in higher. 

She gasps and her eyes go wide.

“BOY DRAMA???” She screams out, her previous negative mood disappearing and her eyes light up with excitement.

You sigh as you gather your thoughts. 

“Well..it’s not really drama. I may or may not have a teensy crush on someone.” 

“Oh my god!! Who is it? Have I met them?” 

“Uh no. I actually just met him-” She’s cutting you off before you can finish your sentence. 

“YOU SLUT!” She yells, pointing an accusing finger at you. 

“What the hell Ash? I didn’t even tell yo-” 

“It’s Hugh fucking Jackman isn’t it? Stacy said she saw the way you looked at him yesterday. Jesus y/n, you don’t even know the guy.” She’s rambling on, judgment clear in her voice. 

“Since when are you and Stacy on talking terms?” You purposely ignore everything else she said. Ashley was jealous of Stacy for awhile. When you asked her about it she claimed that Stacy was trying to steal her best friend away. It took a lot of reassurance that the relationship you had with Stacy was work before friendship- and if she had become a good friend along the way, that was something you weren’t going to tell Ashley. 

“We can be civil when it comes to concerns for you.” 

“And what concerns are there lately?” 

“Huh… Stacy let me in on your little conversation yesterday about swearing off men for a little bit but once Hugh stepped through the door, she said that she could tell that idea was out the window.” She’s trying her hardest to keep a straight face but there was a slight smirk peeking through. 

“Oh my fucking god, you guys are so dramatic. Yes he’s fine as FUCK but like you said I dont know him. I probably won’t ever see him again.” You sigh at the end. You really wanted to see him again. 

“What even happened that has you wrapped around his finger already?” You don’t speak for a moment as you think about how to say your thoughts without feeling dumb. 

“Please don’t tell me you only have a crush on him because he’s hot…You take your crushes too far for that.” There's a look of panic resting on her face. 

“He uh…well…you know how we took the pictures yesterday for BBC?” You ask and she's nodding. “I thought he looked good but I swear I wasn’t thinking anything irrational. It was when we had to take those stupid pictures and he rested his hand on my back…Ash, I swear there was a spark or something. It felt so… I don’t know…so.. right?” The cart you’re in is sitting at the top of the wheel and you’re taking advantage of the view while you wait for Ashley to respond. When she doesn’t, you turn to look at her. She’s staring blankly at you, giving you slow blinks. 

“What?” Your voice is soft, barely above a whisper. 

“Y/n, how old is he?” Her expression is unchanging. 

“Fifty five…I googled it last night..” You were feeling ashamed of your behavior. You felt like a kid with a stupid school crush. Pathetic. 

“Hm, that’s your oldest yet. What’s next, eighty or ninety five is probably more to your taste huh?” She’s making fun of you and it hurts. You know she’s never approved of your taste in men but you can’t really help it. It’s not like you block out guys your age, they just don’t satisfy you. They’re mean, boring, and losers. You wanted a real man. Someone who was established in life and could take care of you. 

“Whatever..” You let out softly. The cart was nearing the bottom once again and you were ready to be free of the room of gossip and judgment. 

“Y/n… you know I only want what’s best for you. I mean look at what happened with Pedro and all the other men before him.” She’s sincere and you understand her point of view but you wished she would understand yours as well. 

“I know Ash. It’s just a stupid crush anyways.” It was more of a reminder to yourself rather than to Ashley. She was right, you did have a habit of taking your crushes too far. You always had to try to get the guy who held your attention but you were confident in who you were. Most times it worked but a break from dating was what was best for you.

To apologize for being mean, Ashley was currently on the phone with some poor worker from one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants. She already made a reservation for tomorrow night but thought tonight would be better to cheer you up. You tried to reason with her by telling her that there were plenty of great restaurants in London we could get into tonight, but she insisted on having a very touristy dinner tonight instead of tomorrow, like it made any of a difference. 

“I know the reservation is for tomorrow but miss y/l/n needs it for tonight.” Her voice is strong and unwavering, determined to get a table tonight. She’s been throwing your name around left and right hoping that someone would know who you were. It all felt too pretentious for your liking but you couldn’t control Ashley when she was like this. 

You were sprawled across your hotel bed, scrolling through instagram. The voices inside your head were screaming to look at Hugh’s page, just a peak. Last night after you saw the comment, you practically threw your phone across the room, too afraid to look at it again. You're honestly thankful for that reaction because who knows how long you would have stayed awake thinking about it and diving into his life. You did make that quick google search to see just how old he was but that was the end of your exploration. 

Your fingers moved faster than your brain could process, typing his name into the search bar and clicking his profile the second it popped up. You didn’t have to scroll far into his account before your heart started to race. You clicked on a mirror selfie he had posted of him in his wolverine costume with sunglasses on. The pose and the caption really showed his age but for your sick brain, it made everything about him even sexier. You cautiously swiped out of that picture to prevent an accidental like. The next picture to catch your attention was one of Hugh in the trunk of a car. Your eyes almost jump out of your face with your tongue rolling onto the ground like the cartoons. The size of his arm was insane. You weren’t one to go for muscular men, but Hugh could choke you out with that arm any time he wanted to. His smile was so dreamy. You hadn’t seen Deadpool and Wolverine yet, not really having interest before, but now you might have to take a solo trip to the movies. You were cooked.

“Thank you, I’m glad we were able to come to an agreement. Yes tonight at 8pm.” Ashley is hanging up the phone and lets out a high pitched squeal. 

“How do you do that?” You’ve always been amazed at her negotiating skills and her ability to get whatever she wants. 

“Natural talent..also having a famous bestie doesn’t hurt.” She giggles and checks the time. Her laughter turns to a gasp. “We have to get ready, it’s already 6pm!” She’s gathering her things and as she’s rushing out of the door, she’s telling you that she’ll be back soon to get dolled up together. 

You had to learn how to style yourself over the past year of being in the limelight. Fashion was something you had been interested in but in Minden, if you dressed too out of the ordinary, people would stare. You shied away from it for longer than necessary and only recently learned how to express yourself freely thanks to your stylist, Kat. For dinner, you picked out a lengthy fitted black dress. It had the prettiest floral pattern that covered it with butterflies popping up here and there. What sold you on the dress though were the two frilly pieces of fabric that hung on either side of the dress. It was stunning and it looked even better on you. You decided on letting your hair sit in its natural state, not caring to put much effort into it. 

When Ashley came tumbling back into your room, wearing a red fitted dress, the two of you put some music on and got to work. You weren’t going for a super complicated makeup look, simply deciding on a small winged eyeliner, mascara, a dark blood red lip stain, and a hint of blush. Layering a few necklaces and adding some hooped earrings, your look was almost complete. All that was left were a pair of black heels that had two strings that you effortlessly swirled around your calf tying it into a cute bow at the top. 

“You look smoking hot! Let me take a picture of you.” Ashley whistles and grabs your phone to take a few shots. She was right, you looked good. You decided to post one of the pictures of your instagram story with a small caption that said ‘dinner time 😋’. 

What you loved about Ashley is that she took your fame with a grain of salt most of the time. When you wanted to take an uber or taxi somewhere, she never complained. You often got tired of taking private cars everywhere, wanting a little normality when you could get it. The uber ride over was a quiet one, both of you too focused on the view outside of your own windows, soaking in the reality of being in Europe. 

The restaurant was gorgeous. It wasn’t over the top fancy with normal everyday people littering the dining area, it was nice. Ashley and yourself were in quiet conversation as you looked over the menu. Feeling adventurous, you asked the waitress what she recommended and you ended up ordering the dish. Sipping on your espresso martini, you took a moment to feel grateful for the life you got to live. 

“Oh you have got to be kidding me.” Ashley is sighing with a slight roll of her eyes. 

“Good evening y/n.” A voice is approaching behind you before you could question Ashleys sudden annoyance. It was a voice you recognized, hearing it the day before. You turn around to see Hugh standing behind your left shoulder and you stand up to greet him properly. You’ve gotten accustomed to hugging almost everyone you meet nowadays, you lean in without thinking. 

“Oh my god! Hi Hugh.” There's a big grin on your face. It felt like a sign that you were seeing him again. 

“I don’t want to bother you ladies for too long. I recognized your dress and wanted to come say hi. I also wanted to apologize for bringing up Pedro yesterday, it was rude of me to do without even introducing myself first.” He lets out in his gruff voice, accent strong. His arm and yours are still interlocked in a weird side hug type of position. 

“It’s totally fine, you didn’t know.” You look into his eyes with utmost sincerity. “Oh uh, this is my best friend Ashley. Ashley, this is Hugh.” He breaks the side hug to reach to shake Ashley’s hand. 

“Nice to meet you.” Hugh lets out and Ashley responds with a short ‘you too.’ You give her a look that says ‘be nice’. 

“Well, I’ll get out of your hair. It was really nice seeing you again sweetheart.” He smiles down at you.

“It was nice seeing you again as well.” 

“Here let me.” He’s motioning to your chair. You take a seat and he's pushing it forward for you. 

“Thank you.” Looking back at him with a shy smile. He gives your shoulder a squeeze of acknowledgment and he’s walking away. 

“Maybe the universe does want you with a man old enough to be your grandfather. I mean what are the fucking odds of running into him at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant.” Ashley lets out in total disbelief. 

You don’t say anything, you give a sly shrug instead. The rest of the dinner is tame. The food was delicious and you felt woozy from the martinis you’d been downing. Ashley let you know half way through the dinner that Hugh was sitting not to far from us and that he ‘had a fucking staring problem’, her words exactly. It made you giddy to think he was looking over here and if you begged Ashley to trade seats with you it was no one else's business. She obviously refused and you spent the rest of your time focusing on your friend, with Hugh sitting in the corner of your mind. 

When you got back to the hotel, you immediately stripped yourself from your heels and dress. Laying in the bed in nothing but your undergarments, you opened instagram and took a look at your story one more time, wanting to see just how good you looked. It was shallow for sure but it made you feel good. You saw the hearts flooding the bottom of the screen and decided to swipe up to see who had liked it. As you scrolled nothing really caught your attention until that name caught your eye again.

“I recognized your dress and wanted to come say hi.” 

What the actual fuck.

Conférence Masterclass 808 (Translation)

I've taken the liberty of translating the conference that took place last year with the writing director of Miraculous (Sébastien Thibaudeau). It was only made public when someone posted a video of the conference a short while ago.

In this conference, Sébastien Thibaudeau will talk about the creation of Miraculous and his work on the series. He is joined by Chloé Paye, a new scriptwriter working on Miraculous season 6.

Sébastien talks a lot and repeats himself a bit, so the summary can be a bit confusing.

I strongly advise you to go and listen to the video if you understand French. There are a lot of details I'm going to leave out, and Sébastien is very funny.

-12 years ago, Sébastien arrived at Zagtoon, a studio that was just starting out and had yet to produce and broadcast any series. The producer (Jérémy Zag) and Sébastien hit it off and decided to start working together. Zag decides to give Sébastien total freedom over his projects. Sébastien then decides to put the spotlight on scriptwriters, because in this profession they are unfortunately poorly paid and never stay on the same projects.

So they produced a cartoon called Kobushi. A little-known series that did rather well, even if it didn't stay on the "Gulli" channel for long. The scriptwriters and producer were happy with the end result, as it was produced in a very short time.

Jeremy Zag then proposed another project, which he thought was quite good, but which he was unable to sell to broadcasters. At the time, the project was called "Ladybug". No one was interested, as the project was aimed more at an adult audience than a children's audience. Sébastien had to make sure that the project could be broadcast on Disney and TF1.

There was only a "trailer" also called "Ladybug" (but you'll find the video under the title Ladybug PV) animated by Toei animation. At the time, Sébastien had not yet been hired by Zagtoon. It was Jérémy Zag who convinced Toei animation to work with them (no mean feat, since Toei animation doesn't work with anyone).

So Sébastien started working with Thomas Astruc (the man who wrote and created the "Ladybug" project). At first, he didn't want to work on this project because he found it complicated. Thomas wanted to make a series for adults, but at the time, it was very complicated to make a cartoon for adults. What's more, they didn't have enough money to take on such a project. Sébastien finally agreed, but there were some changes to be made, which Thomas accepted.

-What Sébastien appreciated most in this project was the romantic comedy, the love square between the two main characters.

To meet the requirements of the cartoon industry, "Ladybug" had to be set in a neutral universe, in other words, in an imaginary country or the USA, but Zag, who loves Paris, declared that the cartoon had to be set in Paris.

In the end, Thomas Astruc's entire project was discarded, leaving only the love story between the two heroes and the city of Paris, where the story was to take place.

-Sébastien explains how he writes Marinette's first dialogues: He says he talks a lot in real life, so he writes Marinette like him. She says out loud whatever she's thinking.

For Chat noir, he makes him tell his father's jokes. Something TF1 doesn't accept. The TV channel went so far as to refuse to validate the Bible (a collection of information on the series and episodes) until it had removed the sentence: “Chat noir makes jokes”. Sebastien has therefore removed the sentence, but will continue to make Chat noir tell jokes.

-The writing director's job is to get the producer, creator and broadcaster to agree. The series broadcast on TF1 and Disney are very different. TF1 wants series whose story can be told in a single episode, unlike Disney, which wants series whose story spans several episodes.

Sébastien and TF1 agree that Miraculous will be a series with one story per episode, a "Formula Show".

He cites the example of Dora the Explorer episodes, where every episode is the same: Dora goes on an adventure from point A to point B, she has to find 3 clues, then she meets Swiper, she sings a song to make Swiper go away, she uses the talking map to get from one place to another, then Dora manages to get to point B and the episode ends.

This episode format is used for children, to give them a reassuring framework, as they build themselves up through repetition. That's why series like Dora work so well with young children.

So Sebastien sold the Miraculous series to broadcasters as a formula show. A person gets angry, is akumatized, then marinette transforms into Ladybug then frees the person from the akumatization and… The End.

It's also for this reason that Marinette tries to confess her love for Adrien in every episode, but is unable to do so.

But he tried to go against what he had planned with TF1, by slipping little extra stories into certain episodes. Audiences were receptive to these slightly hidden stories. The TV channel even asked Sébastien if there really were hidden things in the series, but he denied everything. Thanks to the positive reception from the public, TF1 agreed to develop the characters of Marinette and Adrien and flesh out the universe a little more.

-Once the bible is written, they have to write a script. But first Sébastien, as writing director, needs to know the mood of the series, and to do this he calls on Thomas Astruc, the series creator. Thomas is a great fan of classical painting. A single painting can tell a complex scene with lots of detail. He wants the episodes of miraculous to be like these paintings, there will be very few shots, but in a single shot a lot will happen.

-Sébastien explains that one of the things Thomas wanted to convey in the series was emotion. They didn't want to do what a lot of children's cartoons do, which is to beat the bad guys and win at the end of the episode. They wanted to tell kids that it's normal to have negative emotions. We can also become better people, learn from our mistakes and so on. It also reassures TV channels by setting up scenes that are repeated in every episode: people get angry, people akumatize then people deakumatize, end of episode...

Once the TV channels had been reassured, they set about writing a script.

-Sébastien asks Thomas to write the ending, as they're not sure the series will work. They also wondered what the aim of the series was, and what they wanted to say to the children. The two of them sat down in an office and wrote the ending, which turned out to be just the end of an arc. He even adds that now that they've written a lot more, it's important for them to write in advance so that everything is clear to them.

-The first season was written by 19 authors, from home. He found it interesting that the series was written by several different authors, even if some of them didn't quite understand the premise of the series. One episode that Sébastien particularly appreciated was written by two “autrices” (I think it's weird to say “two female authors”, so I'll use the French word): the refletkta episode, with the story of Juleka who couldn't get into the photos. (Note that all the episodes were proofread by Sébastien and Thomas).

After that, they kept a few people on to work together on the scripts for subsequent seasons.

Sébastien explains that he keeps a close eye on the production of the episodes, to make sure that everything that goes into the picture is as faithful as possible to what they've written in the script.

-The kwamis exist thanks to Toei, who wanted funny little animals to sell plush toys. So the scriptwriters had to find a way to integrate kwamis into the story.

-(Again, Sébastien advises people to check out the Kobushi series if they can still watch it somewhere, or ask the leaker who leaked the whole of season 5 to give them the episodes (that's a joke, of course)).

-Sébastien talks about the Ikari gozen episode, which could have been a total failure because the storyboarder didn't fully understand the scenario. Sébastien asks Zag to redo the storyboard, which will add 10 weeks to the episode's deadline. The storyboarder admits that he's always done storyboards mechanically, without worrying whether the episode is good or not, whether the jokes are funny or not. Eventually, the episode was redone by the same storyboarder, resulting in the episode we all know today.

- They still have a lot to tell with Miraculous, to the point where they're wondering if they'll have enough seasons to tell everything they want to tell. Sebastien says there will be a season 6 and 7, and probably a season 8 and 9.

- Chloé Paye met Sébastien when she was looking for an internship. She had never worked in animation, and knew nothing about Miraculous. She tells us how the scriptwriting team works. Each time, all the scriptwriters in the room have to be convinced of the script. They can sometimes spend hours on details to get everyone to agree.

- The driving force behind the series is that there must always be a secret between Marinette and Adrien. The lovesquare can never be broken, otherwise there's no series. Sébastien knows that some people are worried about this. Will they continue the lovesquare for another 4 seasons or more? How will they evolve? Sébastien says not to worry, they know where they want to go.

-It takes them 14 to 16 months to produce an episode, but it's often much longer due to unforeseen circumstances. And they don't work on one episode at a time, but on several at the same time. One episode takes a long time because of the 3D animation.

One of the things that's complicated with Miraculous 3d animation is that they can only display 3 characters at a time on screen, whereas the series requires them to display many more characters. It's also very difficult to correct animation errors, as this takes a lot of time.

-The TV networks were very surprised by the success of miraculous. They didn't think adults and children alike would watch the series. The TV channels were a little confused because they usually make series for a specific age group, but since miraculous had people of all ages watching, they weren't sure what to do.

- Sébastien says he's very happy that miraculous inspires a lot of people to create things, like writing fanfiction, however he's not interested in it because he doesn't want to be influenced by certain fans who would love to see certain things in the series.

- Writing direction also means paying attention to how the characters speak. They all have their own way of speaking. For example, Adrien will never say "j’te parle", but rather "Je te parle".

- During the writing process, the writers sometimes act out scenes to make the dialogue more natural. This is what happened with the episode "Gang of secrets". They felt that, with the success of the show and the pressure it was generating, they needed to write something to relieve their stress. So they wrote about Marinette and the enormous pressure she was under to keep all her secrets. The final scene, in which Marinette tells Alya that she's Ladybug, came naturally when they performed it together.

After the third ridiculous headline, Aelin dropped both the stack of magazines and her phone and flopped backwards on the hotel bed with a groan. Her publicist had woken her up with coffee and the tabloids, and she wished she had time to wake up before she had to look at the absolutely crazy stories that the gossiping tabloids spread. Even though she had been acting for years, she still wasn’t used to their prying and the constant cameras clicking in her face, even when she wasn’t trying to be noticed.

Besides, that garbage about her and her bodyguard? It was pure nonsense.

Well, mostly nonsense.

The photos they had taken were true enough, because Aelin had hugged her bodyguard last night. However, there was absolutely no romance involved—Whitethorn had been physically supporting her, keeping her on her feet.

Because he’s her bodyguard. He was guarding her body, that’s all—and a lot less than she would like.

She had been about to collapse after she had received a very brief, very shocking call on the phone she rarely used. The voice on the other end had been low, curt, and to the point. There was an accident during a job. We haven’t heard anything from them. That was two weeks ago.

The implication—they could be dead—made Aelin’s whole body go weak, and her security guard’s rapid reflexes were the only thing that had kept her upright. For a moment, she let him hold her, let him stabilize her, leaned into the solid strength of his Kevlar-covered chest. And then she pulled herself together, put away her burner phone, and stepped away from Whitethorn’s hug. She’d given him a nod of thanks, and he nodded back in quiet understanding.

Simple support, and not even an emotional one. That was all that had happened.

Leave it to the tabloids to take that moment out of context and start rumors that spread like wildfire across the Internet.

And Dorian—he was probably too busy with the boyfriend he was definitely hiding from the tabloids to notice the Rumor of the Day, but his publicist would surely give Aelin a piece of her mind soon.

Elide stuck her head into Aelin’s hotel room, rolled her eyes when she saw the magazines discarded on the floor. “You know they’re a load of crap,” the publicist said as she walked over and picked them up. “Also, I need you to read this one.” She flipped one of the magazines open and laid it across Aelin’s lap.

“Why?” Aelin glanced quickly down at the pages, scoffing at the grainy, zoomed-in photos splashed onto the glossy paper. “Gossip pisses me off, Ells.”

“Yeah, I know, but you need to read the actual words so you know how to respond when the people today ask you about it.” As usual, Elide had a good point.

“Fine.” Aelin frowned, but she began to read.

Is Aelin Galathynius Taken By Someone Else?!?!?

The “Queen of Glass” star was spotted last night in an intimate embrace with a man who sources say is her current bodyguard, Rowan Whitethorn, who has been on her security team since March, when Galathynius began this press tour for the newest season of the Netflix hit series.

Sources report that Aelin and her co-star Dorian Havilliard are often seen getting cozy together outside of press appearances, and an exchange in a recent interview confirmed that the pair’s wild, explosive chemistry on-screen has spilled off the screen too. Fans all over the world were overjoyed to hear of the star’s new romance.

But the photos from last night tell an entirely different story. Could it be that the actress has more than one man after her heart? Or could she be keeping something secret?

Last night, sources say that Galathynius was walking back to her hotel with Whitethorn as her escort when she stopped briefly in a nearby park. Only minutes later, she was spotted in her bodyguard’s arms! Looks like a romance is brewing, or even already in progress! After all, her incredibly popular character in “Queen of Glass” spent the whole first season secretly in love with Dorian’s character until they finally brought their romance to light. Is life imitating art?

According to an eyewitness, the embrace lasted for several minutes before the actress moved away from her bodyguard and began walking to her hotel again. At this time, we do not know any additional details, but with the ongoing press tour, we are certain that she will make an announcement soon. “They’re such vultures.” Disgusted, Aelin threw the magazine at Elide, who caught it before it could smack her in the stomach.

Elide huffed. “It’s their job to stir up the people. Be prepared for at least half the interviewers today to ask you about this.” She launched into her daily spiel about what Aelin should expect during the press that she, Dorian and a few of their castmates were filming. “And above all, don’t you dare let Dorian answer any of the questions they’re going to ask about the plot of this season. You know better than anyone how much of a spoiler machine he is. He gets one spoiler this time. One.”

“I might have to tape his big mouth shut,” Aelin joked. “Bet the press would eat that up.”

“Honestly, it might give them something else to yap about.” Elide straightened, one finger up as she recalled something. “Pap walk! We’re doing a round of pap walks to get their attention somewhere else. I’ll text the details, but so far…”

Elide flipped through her notes, and Aelin was about to ask a few follow-up questions when there was a rapid, firm knock on the door.

“What?”

Rowan Whitethorn cracked open the door and stepped into the room. “They’re ready for her in hair and makeup.” He scanned the room, his gaze sharp, alert. “Morning, Miss Galathynius.”

His face was perfectly neutral like it always was, making it impossible to tell if he knew anything about the new rumors. He probably did, but Rowan was so professional, it got unnerving sometimes.

“Morning, Sergeant Whitethorn.” He’d never been in the military, but she called him “Sergeant” anyway. Mostly because it made him delightfully grumpy.

True to form, he frowned, but instead of his usual snarky retort, he just held the door open for her and walked her across the hall to another room, this one full of stylists. She was swept into their whirlwind, and by the time she turned around, her bodyguard was once again outside the door, on watch for any potential mishaps. Rowan really was an excellent security guard.

Too bad he was also a highly wanted criminal.

Why is official APH France an underrated character?

Today, I would like to repost a post about France that I wrote a long time ago. Please note that this post does not reflect my current views. Next, this is considered my personal blog, so if you disagree, please click back. And this post will only talk about what I (used to) felt about France in the official version, not exactly the France in my current headcanon and fanfic (even though that is the foundation for today).

[This post is controversial and has a personal opinion. If you disagree, just skip over it. But also because this post is mainly to express my secret thoughts that I don't dare tell anyone, so it's completely hypothetical]

Okay, this is a post about why I like APH France, and why I don't see him the way most people see him.

In short, because his aura looks very bright and when he smiles he is very cute (like the photo below).

I wonder when I fell in love with him, because it's been so many years, I can't remember. I will never be able to remember exactly how I fell.

Yeah pretty sure when people first watch Hetalia everyone thinks he's the typical sweet badboy, some people even say he's ex f^ck boiz and I'm no exception. But... damn, the more I follow this guy, the more I see his stereotype being wrong.

At this point it should be noted that when I talk about APH France, I am talking about France from 2011 onwards. It must be clarified that in the early days of APH, Hima's expression was quite dark. Maybe at that time Hima drew APH to be satirical or something, so not only was the plot quite ironic at times (and a lot of times he was sarcastic wrongly) but also the characters he built were very... But c'mon, MORE THAN 10 years have passed, just 1 year is enough to change people's way of thinking, let alone 10 years. Not to mention, APH does not have a specific plot or spirit to be consistent from beginning to end, so the later APH compared to the first APH has a completely different atmosphere and attitude, otherwise I want to say that APH has almost transformed into a new shape and only takes the first period as the root to develop. APH later became much gentler, lovely and brighter.

(When I wrote these lines, I still liked APH so I still defended it. Oh, what beautiful old days)

And I'll say it straight out that I didn't like the early APH. I also didn't like the way Hima built his characters in the early stages.

Okay, back to the main point. France is a very special character in APH. Why do I say France, not Italy - the central character, Germany - the king carrying the team, or Japan - the artist’s mother country? That's because when I read the early APH comics, I had a pretty clear feeling that the artist didn't like France.

It's not that he hated him, but he didn't like him and looked down on France a bit. Not to mention that Hetalia is strongly influenced by America's point of view and men often dislike France, think that French people are sissy. Basically, back then the way this artist looked at France was no different from the way everyone make memes "the white flag is the flag of France", "France is useless", etc. It was like everyone feels that this guy is very perverted, very annoying, very colorful, like a vase and can't do anything else. But like I said above, more than 10 years is a long process. Although the entire APH series does not have a consistent plot, Himaruya had a "development" in the way he views the main character he created. Partly because this is a series that takes references from real life and is not completely fiction, it is completely understandable for Hima to change the way he builds or even the perspective of his own character.

That's why later on France had a few solo episodes, all the deep emotions were attributed to France - something that is very contradictory to the "dark humor" stories he drew about France in the beginning. I don't know if it was to "compensate" for Himaruya pushing France down too much before.

Anyway, that's about the background. Below I will list the reasons I like this character:

- As for the character's personality, as I said, France has a very bright aura. I'm not talking about literary history or French reforms in real life, but just in the main story alone, I can see that there's something very... intelligent about him. Not trivially clever, but intelligence like, knowing a lot and understanding deeply. The fact that he is sharp and intelligent is also confirmed by the strip where he holds a knife to Prussia's neck and laughs.

- Then there's the emotional aspect. From Jeanne d'Arc to Napoleon, it is completely obvious that France is a very emotional person, a bit childishly attached to those he loves. Yes, that's right, he always says "I'm the big brother of Europe" but when he's with people he loves, he's EXTREMELY childish, likes to act spoiled, likes to attract attention (For example, he was cheerfully excited when he was with Lisa or was chased by Napoleon).

- France's way of expressing emotions is very vivid. When he is angry, he will say that he is angry; When he feels sorry for himself, he bites the towel; If he likes attention, he acts like a clown;... but never once has he lost his temper to attack others just because he was hurt. I mean, from all the symptoms I've seen in France so far, I can determine that France can be arrogant, picky, and difficult to please, but I've never once felt like he lost control of himself.

- Yeah sure, when he broke into England's house, was talkative, wore a pink dress and had eyelashes, you can see that he no longer has any shame, but I like people like this. Funny, optimistic and extremely confident.

- He really likes to care and take care of others. This is based on:

1. He is very attached to his previous bosses (as mentioned above),

2, He cooks very well, people who like to cook and cook well are people who like to take care of and see joy from others,

3. On America's independence day, he not only patted America's head but also gave him the Statue of Liberty,

4, Italy often confides in France. France also works as a newscaster giving love advice to others, and he is one of the few people who not only is not afraid of Russia but even comes up to ask about the other person's health,

5. Do you remember the Christmas episode where England called and scolded France? That evening France was alone and looked down at Paris. In the episode about a soldier meeting France and wondering about the life and death of the nation, the ending is also a scene of France sitting and watching the flow of people passing by. France is not only proud of himself, he also loves being close to people and

6, I didn't include this but if you want to take an example from APH in the first few years, there is this scene: when England was so sick, France was really panicked and worried. Even without bringing a romantic perspective here, for me it is a genuine concern between human.

- He is mean, meticulous, and profiteering. Damn him. I don't understand how he can play with Spain. One person remembers that people owe him every penny, one person "Huh? Do I have debt? When did I owe it??"

- Actually... sometimes this guy's EQ is unexpectedly low, especially with things related to England. I don't know how, every time England shows a little interest in him, he always "?:D huh? What's going on? You're planning something with me, right? Let's get to the main point, why are you rambling on?". I don't know how many times Mr. Kirkland has sighed at this guy.

- He is only mean to other countries, but to ordinary people he is very gentle and loving. With women, he has distance but is not impolite.

- It looks radical but is actually extremely conservative. In fact, no matter how much his country reforms and changes, he always seems to be somewhat attached to the monarchy, always recalling his past. Not to mention that he is one of the oldest men in Europe, and he is always nostalgic for previous bosses. As an old man and a secret royalist, it can be expected that France is quite a conservative person.

- That's why the aristocratic blood is deeply ingrained in the personality. Except when he is in a joking mood, every scene of Hima drawing France always has something quite aristocratic. Not the type of strict and meticulous aristocrat like Austria, but the type of guy who wakes up and carries his messy hair out into the street but still looks beautiful.

- France has "an iron fist covered in velvet". He seems very easy-going and pleasant. There are many cases where others just need to beg him a little and he will give in. But in the cases where he said no, it meant no. When he is serious, he is very decisive and does not compromise. One time America broke down and asked for a drink, but he firmly refused (Yes, the fact that America doesn't know how to drink alcohol has been confirmed in official). When he met his idol's reincarnation, he disappeared completely after talking, leaving his idol to live her own life. When he collects debt from others, he is also very decisive LOL.

- He is very beautiful in a feminine way. Beautiful in a feminine way to the point of having to grow a beard and body hair to make people feel masculine. I bet he has endured sexual solicitation from old men.

- He has a lot of part-time jobs, from waiter to announcer to stylist. Was hired by England to be a chef at his place for a while => didn't go to work because of lack of money, but because he was multi-talented => liked to go on strike probably because he was "tired of being too good", because he is afraid that the world is not chaotic enough, because he is bored. He's not lazy, because if he was lazy he wouldn't go to work so much, and with his great body, I think he works out quite hard at the gym.

- Sometimes he's quite silly and weird. America just has a childish personality, but this guy is sometimes inexplicably euphoric. He cares too much about auxiliary things like clothes and hair accessories, but forgets about the main things. He argues with people about silly things. When he fights with people, he asks where the fabric comes from to make such beautiful clothes instead of focusing on fighting. When people asked his opinion, he always talked off topic. When people criticize him, he looks away, covers his ears, and whistles, "The weather is so beautiful today." He also raises dozens of silly birds.

In general, this man is not what he appears to be. He looks like a typical Don Juan but in reality he's mostly just an embellishment, seems mature but actually has a very childish temperament, seems to be sociable but is the type of person who can restore his own energy and doesn't need too much human attention. He doesn't seem to care about his appearance but is actually very proud. He seems heartless and shallow but is actually a thoughtful person. He likes to talk off topic, collect debts, drama queen- no, drama king. Extremely crazy and silly.

This guy's mind is so contradictory and complicated that the more I dig, the more interesting things I find.

And that's why Francis Bonnefoy is loved.

Yes, I agree - it's ridiculous that common wizards seem to have no knowledge of Muggles. I mean, what the hell? But what about those who specialize in making sure Muggles don’t find out about the wizarding world? Obliviators, for instance, who specialize in memory charms, or the ones practicing all types of spells to hide wizarding locations from Muggle eyes- even their cameras, which already existed in the 1990s. And then there are the departments focused on managing magical accidents and breaches of secrecy.

There must be magic that prevents public cameras from capturing magic. I don’t buy the explanation that magic inherently messes with technology—if that were true, wizards wouldn’t be able to live in Muggle cities, like the Blacks did. Maybe there’s a spell on all Muggles in the country that detects when and where they’ve witnessed magic. Whatever the case, this is insane, and I believe magic is much more powerful than it’s often given credit for.

And Arthur? He’s just a weird guy. He works with Muggle cars but knows nothing about electricity? What’s wrong with him? I have no explanation for that, honestly.

Honestly, it’s all just plot holes at this point. For me, one of the biggest flaws in the series is that the relationship between wizards and Muggles is barely explored. For example, we know everything about the Weasleys, even that they had a distant Muggle relative or something, but we know nothing about Hermione’s parents because she literally spends the entire series avoiding them. At one point, she doesn’t even spend her holidays with them. It’s absurd.

The only thing we know about Muggles are the Dursleys, who are terrible; Snape’s father, who’s terrible; the Muggle kids who traumatized Ariana Dumbledore and also behaved terribly. Every single Muggle close to the main characters LITERALLY implies a story of trauma for those characters. There isn’t a single good Muggle in the entire series, and yet we’re supposed to believe that pureblood wizards are prejudiced for no reason? Literally every example we’re given only shows Muggles who are either bad to wizards, treat them poorly, or have issues with magic. Even in the story Rowling told about McGonagall on Pottermore, this trope is repeated: when McGonagall’s father finds out her mother is a witch, their marriage falls apart.

It’s continuous examples of rejection from Muggles toward wizards, and we’re supposed to believe that Muggles are the oppressed or endangered side? Don’t some wizards maybe have valid reasons for not wanting anything to do with them? The series doesn’t give us good examples, and it could have done so through Hermione’s parents, but paradoxically, they don’t even have names. There’s no effort to show us what it’s like for two Muggle parents to have a daughter go to Hogwarts and to be happy for her. They’re supposed to be dentists, middle-class people who love and support their daughter, but they’re never given relevance to show us that there are Muggles who are good people. Every Muggle that gets any mention or importance in the series is presented in a negative light—it’s honestly laughable.

Kingsley Shacklebolt worked in the Muggle world for years, right? And he didn’t create a special department for the prevention of Muggle technology potentially discovering wizards? In the '90s, advanced technology didn’t exist yet, but by the 2000s, there was already the internet, and forums and group chats were a thing, however rudimentary. This means that just two or three years after the end of the series, a Muggle could take a photo or record a video and upload it to a forum or send it to countless people worldwide.

What happens to the Statute of Secrecy then, if there’s no prevention or containment system? If wizards generally think Muggles are stupid and that everything can be solved with an Obliviate, how do you manage exposure through digital media? Even if you tell me Rowling didn’t think about this because the internet wasn’t widespread yet, what about fax machines? Cameras? Are you seriously telling me cameras can’t capture magical moments without wizards noticing because they have no clue what a camera is, and if a Muggle sees something, they can’t send it to two hundred TV stations and have it show up on every primetime entertainment show? That absolutely happened in the '90s.

I mean, portraying magical society as a ghetto that sees Muggles as “something” existing in parallel while canonically interacting with them and even living among them in hiding, yet knowing absolutely nothing about their culture, is absurd to me. It’s logical for Muggles not to know because they’re unaware of the existence of magic, but the other way around? Even if only for the sake of prevention. It’s just a plot hole.

Would you guys hate me if I skipped reading the Burton La Valle bonus comic this week cause god. I do not care about Burton La Valle 😭 I tried to be strong I'm sorry but also I don't think anyone else cares either so... nothing of value was lost. Bring back Trip.

ANYWAYS I like this comic! And it might be entirely because I really like Earthquake and this is just a sequel to that story but STILL!!! I will say that I feel that Fairfax gets pretty watered down here (and for the rest of the series) and he's never quite as interesting as he was in Earthquake when he was convinced he was working for the greater good. Like yeah, in this story he still sort of thinks he's doing the right thing, but he's also just fully given in to being a bad guy. We lose some of the nuance he had before but I do like seeing him again. I don't really care about Belgravia but I do think it's funny that one of PK's enemies is just An Entire Country.

And hey now that I think about it, isn't it kinda funny that this story is about a submarine named Tyrannic that starts rapidly sinking underwater and losing pressure? Y'know it calls to mind a certain other recently famous submarine that might've had a really similar sounding name... maybe something to do with that giant boat that famously sunk y'know like maybe li-

Mikey Way debuts his Dark Horse Comics series, Christmas 365

It might still be sunny out, but Mikey Way is stuck on Christmas. Alongside co-writer Jonathan Rivera and illustrator Piotr Kowalski, with Brad Simpson on colors, the My Chem guitarist-cum-graphic novelist (Electric Century, Collapser) has announced Christmas 365, an upcoming series with Dark Horse Comics, also home to Gerard Way’s Paranoid Gardens and The Umbrella Academy. This oddly feel-good story, bizarre and magical as it is loaded with gallows humor, follows the arc of Peter Rockwell and his family as they navigate the treacherous holiday season, aided by some words of wisdom from a strip mall Santa. Way describes the surreal satire astutely: “Like most kids growing up, I would often fantasize, ‘What if [Christmas] never had to end?’ That very thought was what sparked this story.” Though it's got the spirit of The Nightmare Before Christmas and the kooky suburban charm of Better Off Dead — this team has created a series that’s fresh, surprising, a bit spooky, and entirely their own. 

In speaking to their process, AP connected with co-writers Way and Rivera. “Finally being able to tell this story is a real dream come true! The idea came about a decade ago, and there were plenty of starts and stops in the process,” Way shares. “Putting it in comic form felt like the perfect way to tell the story exactly how we envisioned it after so many years of wanting to share it with the world. Let's be honest, I don't think there's a kid alive who hasn't wished Christmas would never end. Haven't we all fantasized about it being something we got to live day after day?” He continues, “I saw this as an opportunity to tell a funny but heartfelt story, in the vein of all of the classic ’80s and ’90s Christmas movies that I loved so much. I remember watching Home Alone and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation back to back one night and wondering, ‘What story is left to tell?’ An hour or two later, the framework for Christmas 365 was born.”

The connection between co-writers has been an ongoing one, though this project sees it come to fruition. “It's been really fulfilling getting to finally write a story with Jonathan Rivera, who is one of my best friends — I think we've known each other over 20 years now,” Way says. As for the rest of the highly experienced team, “Piotr Kowalski and Brad Simpson brought the story to life exactly as we imagined, giving it the feel and imagery of a ’90s Christmas movie through and through. Daniel Chabon has been a terrific editor to work with and really helped us keep the story focused. I am sure this goes without saying, but it has been a real honor to be able to put out a comic under the Dark Horse banner. The folks over there have always been super kind and supportive to me, and have a rich history with my brother. So to be joining the ‘family’ with my own story to tell is pretty surreal!” 

Rivera, also known for Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye, adds, “Mikey and I had been talking about this story for a while, but it really started to come together as a comic during the pandemic. We’re living in stressful times, so it felt so cathartic to work on such a sweet and strange story about forgiveness and spending time with the people we love. It’s also the type of story we rarely see in comics, and that made me really excited as well.” 

For the writer, a goal has been achieved with this project. Dark Horse has long been a northern star in the industry for Rivera, who caps the chat off with, “I’ve been a fan of Dark Horse comics since I picked up their first Aliens vs. Predator miniseries as a kid. I later worked with them when I ran the official Myspace for The Umbrella Academy back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. So it brings me great joy to come home again with a book that means so much to me!”

Double The Charm, Double The Talent

I find myself constantly inspired by the incredible talents, undeniable charisma and the unique qualities that actors Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine bring to the screen. While I hold a special place in my heart for Taylor, that does not decrease my admiration for Nick. Loving or preferring one more than the other is only natural in a fandom, but it’s important to recognize that this preference does not mean that we should spread negativity or hate. Both Taylor and Nick are exceptional in their own right, and honestly, it’s their differences that make them so captivating. 

Taylor Zakhar Perez has captured my heart with his Latino charm and boundless charisma. From his breakout role as Marco in “The Kissing Booth” film series to his more recent performance as Alex Claremont-Diaz in the film adaptation of hit novel “Red, White and Royal Blue”, Taylor consistently exudes a magnetic presence that draws viewers in. His natural ability to convey deep emotions and his dedication to his craft make him a standout in every project that he’s a part of. 

What I most admire about Taylor is his authenticity. He brings a genuine warmth to his roles, and his passion for representing Latino voices and breaking stereotypes is truly inspiring. Taylor’s commitment to telling diverse stories and highlighting the richness of Latino culture is a testament to his character and vision as an actor. His charm isn’t just skin-deep; it’s rooted in a deep understanding of his heritage and a desire to make a positive impact through his work. 

Beyond Taylor’s on-screen talent, his own personal attributes are equally compelling. His eloquent nature and ability to speak his mind without being mean are qualities that many of his fans, including me, find incredibly attractive. His intelligence and thoughtful approach to both his career and his interactions make him more than just a pretty face. His involvement in projects that resonate with his audience on a deeper level as well as his constant advocating for Latin representation, set him apart as a truly inspiring figure.  

On the other hand, the British innocence of Nicholas Galitzine has also won me over (not as much as my best friend Jam, of course). From his roles in movies like “High Strung” and “Handsome Devil” to his portrayal of Prince Henry in “Red, White and Royal Blue” and George Villiers in “Mary & George”, Nick brings a unique blend of vulnerability and strength to his characters. His ability to connect with audiences on an emotional level is remarkable. And his dedication to his roles is obvious and evident in every one of his performances. 

Nick also has a certain mystique about him that is endearing, intriguing and mysterious. His British charm, coupled with his ability to fully immerse himself in diverse roles, makes him a notable actor to watch. His journey in the entertainment industry has been nothing short of impressive, and I will eagerly anticipate every new project he takes on. 

Nick’s appeal lies in his authenticity and the depth he brings to his characters. His British innocence, combined with his talent for portraying complex characters and emotions, makes him a joy to watch. He has a knack for choosing roles that challenge him and allow him to showcase his range as an actor. His genuine nature and dedication to his craft resonate with fans who appreciate his ability to connect on an emotional level. 

Both Taylor and Nick bring something unique to the roles and projects that they bring to life. Taylor’s Latino charm and commitment to representation are incredibly impactful, while Nick’s British innocence and emotional depth offer a different kind of allure. Both of these actors have the ability to draw audiences in, not just with their looks but with the authenticity and passion that they bring to their performances. 

It’s entirely possible to have a preference for one actor over the other without decreasing the talent and value of either. While Taylor might hold a slightly larger piece of my heart, this fact does not decrease my admiration for Nick. Both actors bring something special to a project, and their unique qualities are what makes them so beloved and treasured by fans. 

Also to note that as fans, we are privileged to witness the growth and evolution of both Taylor and Nick. Their careers are filled with exciting potential, and I eagerly anticipate and await every new project that they’re gonna take on. Whether they’re working individually or on a project together, the anticipation and excitement will always remain high. 

In an industry that often pits stars against each other, it is crucial and essential to remember that admiration is not a zero-sum game. Taylor and Nick are both immensely talented and charming individuals with their own distinct careers and paths. They are also great friends, and they support each other in their professional endeavors. As fans, we should strive to emulate this aura of positivity and camaraderie. 

Now, a message to the fans: let us stop spreading negativity and tearing each other down. It honestly hurts to see fan communities divided, especially when Taylor and Nick themselves share a mutual respect and friendship. We can love one more than the other without resorting to hate or negativity. Respecting each other’s opinions and preferences is essential in creating a supportive and positive fan environment. 

Let’s continue to celebrate the diversity of talents and projects that both Taylor and Nick bring to our screens. If you prefer one over the other, that is entirely okay, but let’s do so with kindness and respect. By supporting both actors and appreciating their unique contributions, we can create a fandom that reflects the positivity, inspiration and happiness that they bring into our lives. 

Let us just focus on the love and admiration that we have for both Taylor James Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Dimitri Constantine Galitzine. Solo novel recs: Cherry Blossoms Upon a Wintry Sword // The Moon is Coming to Me

Traces of the Sun ( 2 seasons completed, Ongoing )

One of my favorites and the photo I used for this entire post. The best thing here is that the MC is a necromancer in a sense, cause his power is restoration. The primary use if of course to restore and fix his environment like building etc but he somehow did the “forbidden” application of it which is to restore dead humans. This is set in the future and has that scifi kind of feel cause humans have “powers” and there are doorways that open — which teams have to complete to “win”. If you like that kind of premise then you will enjoy this. It reminded me of The Earth is Online so I had no problem getting into the plot, but if it’s your first time — it might be confusing.

The ML ( Hyeon ) is a red flag kind of guy and makes a deal with the MC ( Yiseon ) at the start of the story. It can be pretty dark & gloomy at times but hang in there. The quests are really exciting and the team dynamic is good <3 Their romance is kinda slow burn and i live for how Hyeon “changes” because of Yiseon. I’m really hoping for a happy ending!

The Promise ( 41 chapters completed )

I WANT MORE. I NEED. I understand some projects are only allowed upto a certain number of chapters but this was too good and could use more chapters or even side stories. I need to see An Nuo happy and enjoying the real world! 😭😭😭😭

Anyway, I picked this up cause I wanted another scifi/dystopian type of story after reading TOTS. This has that same trope. People with powers, and this time MC is someone who has a low level to no power, spending his time at an underground laboratory that treats humans as lab rats. Then comes the ML, someone from the “outside world” who needs to awaken his other power so he decides to go to the lab. They meet and well, that’s where the story starts.

If you can’t tell, I enjoyed this story so much!!!! The MC is the best. An Nuo <3 he’s so smart and I feel for him cause he was born in the lab, so he’s never seen the real world. He doesn’t know what a blue sky even looks like. As a reader, I was so invested for him to succeed and gain his freedom after 18 years of being a prisoner. Then you have ML, AHHHHHH!!!! He starts off as an asshole but then becomes so devoted so he’s forgiven. 😂😂😂😂

Regression. Entertainment Industry Setting. My weakness, so there’s no way i wouldn’t like it. But even tho it’s a trope I like, it’s still exceptional! Even if you don’t like this trope, it’s a solid story.

So you have the MC Han Nokyoung, who is an A list celebrity with a foul attitude. A scandal happens and he dies — then wakes up years before the incident so he decides to change things to have a better ending. He becomes entangled with Kang Junil in his “new” life — the same person who caused his scandal/downfall.

I like how the story flowed, and how the MC was portrayed as the scumbag he was in the past. There was no excuses, he was foul and did things that harmed people. So he has to atone. He has to change things if he wants to have a better future. There were also parts that I was scared that things will not change even if he chooses a different direction. The MC & ML romance too! AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I love them! They are destined to be together. <3 KANG JUNIL BEING POSSESSIVE IS MY FAVE!

Modern story with two people trying to find their way into a relationship. The MC (Yikyung) is a smol bean that we must protecc! He loves too much and is the kind of person the ML (Joobin) just needs. I have to say it’s one of my comfort stories. It’s sweet. Funny and the smut is very hot without being vulgar. I swear, you can have 3 chapters of smut and it’s glorious!!!!

The age gap is also delicious. Even if it’s ongoing, I encourage you to read it. 🤍

HEARTHROB/ High Pulse ( Ongoing 24 chapters )

I usually don’t pick up stuff that’s just 20+++ chapters cause I think it’s too early to get a hang of the story or i would want more and have nothing. However I was intrigued, since it’s High School setting and Omegaverse.

Shut up. They are so cute! There is something about first loves & young love that gets me! It’s not all fluff and cute — i just wanna wrap them in a warm blanket and let them be happy. Anyway, in this setting, the MC/ML are turning 18 and that’s the time that they will be differentiated into Alpha/Omega or not. ML is expected to be an Alpha, and MC into an Omega. The MC has a heart condition, hence the title.

It’s just sweet. Sometimes i need a story that will make me squee!

A short and hilarious read!!!! MC is addicted to playing a RPG that is BL themed. He has a favorite character that he likes and one day, meets someone who looks exactly like that.

Don’t expect a ground breaking story. The plot twist is very nice tho.

Reunion ( Season 1 Completed ; Ongoing )

This story should be adapted into an Anime or a TV series cause it’s that good. The story telling is A +. If you love a non linear narrative and unreliable narrator then this is for you. My god. The mystery. The heart ache. The yearning. I’m freakin clenching my fists while reading it cause i can feel everything. Even how the panels are drawn adds to the story. Definitely up there as one of my top reads of the year.

the art style is gorgeous. the conflict is — AAAAHHHH!!! I can’t say too much to not spoil anyone reading this but if you read the summary, you’ll get an idea of what’s going on. MC pretended to be someone and had a relationship with the ML. Things happen, ML comes back and they meet each other but he (ML) forgot what happened (or did he????) and well… we try to uncover what really took place that summer and how they can have their happy ending this time.

This is a treat to experience. As a reader, you have to try and piece things together. You also can’t trust their recollections of what happened yet.

If there is 1 story you have to read in this post, let it be this one. It needs more audience!

Blood and Love ( Ongoing ; Chapter 20 )

The combination of someone who is fascinated with vampires + is a sunshine boy meets an actual vampire premise. Add that with uncensored smut. I really enjoyed it for what it is and i got so much secondhand embarrassment from the MC being such a simp 😂😂😂

No Moral ( Season 1 completed ; Ongoing )

I chose this because it’s set in a law firm — ML being a partner & big shot and MC a new junior associate. I did enjoy reading First Class Lawyer before so i thought to give it a chance, I made the right decision. 💕

It’s plot heavy and there are technical words but it didn’t turn me off. The cases are also interesting and this honestly makes me want to pick up the novel cause i wanna know what happens next. The hints of potential romance between them is 💓 and I hope that they get to a good place together.

I really like the character of the ML. Seheon Kang. He’s such a bitch. He reminds me of “Harvey” from the tv series Suits, all the attitude but none of the vices & women. He has family issues and will do everything to win. He may come off as stone-cold but he actually cares in his own way. Most of the comments I read about him, especially early on in the chapters is that he’s an asshole and they hate him. But it’s him. That’s how he is. I guess most people are going into this thinking it’s a “romance” and the ML should be this gentle dude. Well, “No Moral” is so much more than a romance. Even if this wasn’t a “BL” i would still read it for what it is. I love seeing him slowly lose his walls because of the MC tho. All I want for him is to have his freedom and get the taste of “someone” being on his side and will never leave him.

As for the MC, Yunshin, he’s definitely and Idealist. This is why he often gets into conflict with the ML. He’s young and usually does pro-bono cases ; He believes that the law always sides with the “innocent”. Tho he may come off as naive sometimes, I still that fight in him, especially when he does his best to pass Seheon’s tests!

I am excited for where this story will go ♥️

Everyday I want to be Number 1 ( till Chapter 23, Ongoing )

The trope of MC being the second place all the time and he wants to beat the ML who is always first place in academics and everything else. Then they get close and sparks fly ✨ I have read novels and other Manhuas like this but this one still got me.

A feel good read. Not sure if i’m gonna continue but I liked what i read so far.

Someone like you ( Season 1 completed ; Ongoing )

It’s sad and depressing. LOL. Idk why I picked it up but so far, I can’t help but feel frustrated with what’s happening. Some people who read this compared it to “Reunion” because they had a shared past and got separated. Also the gaps in ML’s memory regarding the MC. Also the MC thinking that their relationship is doomed. However, I think what’s lacking here is there is no “hope”, even if they communicate well, i feel like they keep going back to step 1. I understand why but it’s not making me want to continue on to the next seasons.

Merry Marbling ( Chapter 33 ; ongoing )

First of all, everything is so pretty ✨ How can I resist? All panels are a treat!!!!

I was here mainly for the art, but I didn’t expect to get invested in the story that much. It may look like a superficial high school / slice of life kind of story but it’s so much more than that. Ian ( black hair ) is Mister Perfect. He is known as the “Angel” of their area and he literally can’t do no wrong — everyone likes him. Enter the new student Yugun, my dear sickly-angry-kitten son 😂😂😂 He doesn’t know Ian’s “history” & doesn’t get the hype about him. The story flows on their journey of being strangers to enemies to friends to lovers. 💕

I’m loving their character growth. Ian who does his best to please his mom and be the “perfect son” to being able to express himself and not think too much about what people will say. I really feel sorry for him, cause he’s a kid — he is allowed to make mistakes. The instances where he cries and almost has breakdowns when he does something wrong is not right. And it’s Yugun who calls him out on it, also encourages him to let loose sometimes. Yugun— who is closed off starts believing that he can have people to depend on, especially Ian. I really love Yugun 😂 He is chaotic. Don’t let the cute face fool you. He is a savage.

It’s also a really funny read. ^^ + the side characters are the type who add to the story, especially Mi Rye!

Follow your Heart ( completed )

Hello! Look at how beautiful they are! I am weak. Very weak. An upright taoist cultivator who lives high up in the mountains and a demonic cultivator that owns the Ghost Valley. My favorite trope! 😍😍😍 Also Mister Demonic Cultivator waited for his love to come back after 100 years. I mean…. This Manhua is a combination of all my favorite things!

The pairing reminds me so much of Hua Cheng x Xie Lian 😭😭😭😭 I wish there were more chapters, cause it’s only 53 but part of me thinks they already told the story they have to and there is no use in prolonging it.

Anyway, the story is not that deep, compared to other plots in the same genre. You only have to know a few people and their goal is clear. If you’ve read or even watched stories with Cultivation World as the backdrop, it’s easy to get confused and there are a couple of subplots, you won’t have that problem with FYH. Ye Zigue needs to find his body and transfer his soul core in order to live again, also find out the truth about what happened years ago. The best part for me tho is the ML. Jiang Shu. 💕 He has that whole Hua Cheng thing going on for him. AHHHHHHH!!!!! He is perfect. Exactly the type of ML I prefer reading about. I usually prefer modern manhua/manhwa setting but decided to give this a go cause it’s already completed, so happy that I made that decision <3

Civilian A ( Chapter 24 ; Ongoing )

I should stop picking up stories that are only 24+ chapters but I can’t help myself. Esper/Guide trope which I haven’t really been reading that much of. I think it’s the same as Sentinel/Guide. && the art is beautiful so….

The pairing is Gold! Especially the ML, Yool, who is a scary S+ Esper who everyone avoids but for some reason is a puppy to our MC. There is obviously some backstory here, early on in the chapters, we are given the impression that they knew each other when they were young. ML did something along the way to keep MC safe and forget him. I recommend that people wait this out, the recent chapters are just getting exciting. Tho romance is a big part of the story, there is also a backdrop of politics and some commentary on the society. Definitely one that I will be waiting on every week to update. 💜

BONUS: Other books ( physical ) I have finished this Month. <3

I’ve been wanting to try “before the coffee gets cold” trilogy and decided why the hell not. It’s definitely my kind of read. It’s not a very long book and you have 4 “short stories” in each but they are connected at some point. The concept of time travel here is unique ( you can only go to the past or future but you have to be seated in a particular chair. you can’t get up from your spot. nothing will change in the past or future no matter what you do or say. you can only see people who have been in the cafe too. your time is up when the coffee gets cold. ) and the stories will affect you. Reading this makes me want to visit this cafe lol to experience it. ☕️ only finished book 1 & 2, i’m saving the 3rd for October.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0. I rewatched the movie for the nth time so I picked up the manga too. I’ve also been collecting the official volumes and will get to that next. ^^ and I’m a Yuuta Simp so… 🤷🏻‍♀️

Kimetsu no Yaiba Volume 1-5. Same with JJK, i’m getting the volumes so reading em too. A perfect read to de stress after work.

Dune - I’ve always wanted to read this book cause as a sci fi fan, everyone said this is one of the best, but that made me so intimidated by it that i didn’t pick it up for years. and the fact that the copies i see are the really small and thick ones. But I watched the film last year and really enjoyed it, even re watching it so that’s when I knew i could “handle” it. I enjoyed every bit of it and I can’t wait to see the scenes come to life in the film this November ^^ I’m not planning on continuing on with the other books tho, I’m fine with just this one.

I have to say it’s been a really good reading month for me and I hope to maintain my momentum in the next couple of months. Not putting too much pressure on myself tho, but I hope I get to discover more enjoyable reads. ^^

This has to be a fucking nightmare.  

Not twenty-four hours ago, I was ready to profess my love for Stella Williams.  

And twenty-four hours later, I’m alone at Red Line. No girl, no love, just broken.  

I sat at the corner of the bar, sipping my drink. I really have no idea how to move forward. I’m lucky Mark, the manager, knows how to keep everyone away from me. He also knows how much I don’t want to be drunk right now. I keep looking at my phone, swiping through the photos of Stella and me. I stared at her smiling, beautiful face. I could still see the future I had been dreaming about. Could see her accepting my proposal, walking down the aisle to me, telling me she’s pregnant, buying our house.  

The lost dreams weighed on my heart, and I can feel my eyes fill with hot tears. I wipe my eyes on my shirt. I don’t want to show weakness where someone can see.  

“You know, drinking won’t help. I speak from experience.” I looked up to see Andy standing behind me.  He moved to take the seat next to me and waved at Mark for a beer.  

“Not drinking,” I mumble. I give him my glass. “It's just juice.”  

He sniffs and smiles. “Good, I need you to keep a clear head.”  

“Why?” I turned back to my phone. “Why when my entire life went up in flames?” 

“Jeremy,” Andy placed his hand on my shoulder, “it's not in flames.”  

“Cap, sorry but I lost my spot, I lost my girl, I lost everything.” I put my head on bar. “What the fuck do I have now?” 

“Jer, I have a meeting with management before the game. I asked that they not make a public statement until we talked.  I need you to be there.” 

“Why? They obviously don’t trust me. They didn’t give me a chance to explain.” 

“I know. I know.” Andy took a long drink. “I have your back. Please just work with me.   I know that we have a rough history but if the last four months you have shown me that you are reliable and faithful, not only to your girl but the team.” 

I sat and just thought about everything. “Do you think someone on the team did this?” 

He shook his head. “I don’t think so.”  

I nodded. “Andy, the girl? Its Stella.” I looked away.  

“Yeah, I know.” I turned back to him. “She’s been at my house for the last couple of days. Leia is worried about her.  All she does is hold Avery. Says it stops her from crying.”  

“Fuck.” I can’t stop the tear that falls. “I’m sorry.”  

“Why are you apologizing?” 

“Because I’m messing up your life.”  

Andy frowns. “Stop that. You didn’t do anything, and we both know it.”  

It's quiet again. “Andy, I need her. I love her.”  

“I know man.” He finishes his drink. “C’mon. Lets grab a burger and talk about the meeting.” I nod, drain my drink and pay our bill. If there is anyone I trust besides Linus, it would be Andy. 

I’m sitting outside of the management offices two days later, knees bouncing. Andy is in with the general manager and coach. I’m looking at my phone, still staring at the photos I have of Stella and go through our messages.  

Stella: Would you still like me if I were a squirrel?  Jeremy: Stella... what?  Stella: I asked, would you still like me if I were a squirrel?  Jeremy: I feel like this is trick question.   Stella: just answer it  Jeremy: Am I a squirrel with you?  Stella: No  Jeremy: then yes I would  Stella: really?  Jeremy: yeah. I would make you a nice squirrel house and bring you nuts and stuff so you would be happy in your squirrel home.   Stella: that is probably the most romantic thing you have ever said to me.   Jeremy: (wink)  Jeremy: wanna come over? (smirk)  Stella: (rolling eyes) moments over  Stella: I’ll be there in 10 (smile) 

I smile at the texts, wishing she was here to hold my hand.  A commotion comes from the hallway, and I look up to see Stella and one of the other athletic trainers coming down the hall.  I think her name is Kiley. She’s always given me the creeps, a sort of puck bunny vibe that is semi-stalker-ish. I stand up. “Stella?” 

“Jeremy.” She looks beautiful, even in her angry, frustrated state.  

I’m not sure what to say. I want to say everything, but I don’t want to say it in front of anyone else. I want to tell her I love her, but I don’t want an audience.  I move to ask her if we can talk in private when the door opens, and Andy comes out to look between us. “Stel?” 

“I need to talk to you and management.” She takes a breath. “And Jeremy.”  

Two Days Before 

Stella 

I finally went back home. I knew I couldn’t stay with Leia forever, as much as I wanted to. Since I was home, I stayed with Leia when I could to help with the baby.  Holding my niece was my only comfort. I had been alone since I came home from the road trip. I should have been getting the team ready for playoffs but no, I’ve been in my apartment, crying my eyes out.  

I decided that I had enough and went back to the arena. I needed to be distracted, even when a certain someone was there. I head straight to my office, shut the door and started with the mass of emails that had piled up.  My phone rings and my heart jumps. I grab at it, hoping I’ll see his name on my phone but it's just Leia. “Hi.”  

“Don’t sound too enthusiastic Stella. Where are you?” 

“At work, tackling all of the stuff I’m behind on. Are you ok? Is my sweet angel ok?” 

I can practically hear her eyes roll. “We’re ok. Excited to see Andy.”  

I looked at calendar and sure enough, the team is due to arrive in about an hour, do a quick meeting and then head home for the night. I sigh because I know Jeremy will be here.  It's been a week since he was on my doorstep, and I told him I couldn’t be with him anymore.  The betrayal cuts deep.” Oh yeah, ok.” I sigh, because I don’t want to do this confrontation. I just want the pain to stop.  

“Jeremy was sent home the day after the pictures came out.” My head snaps towards the locker room. “What?” 

“Yeah, management benched him. They were done with his philandering.” That explained how he was on my doorstep that first night. But it also means that he won’t be here today. “It's disappointing,” she continues. “I really thought he had changed.  Andy won’t talk about it. He just said that he’s handling it.”  

“I don’t care,” I tell her. Except I do care. Andy wouldn’t say something like that unless he knew the truth. But I can’t do this. My heart is on the floor, and I just want to be in bed.  

“Stel, I know its fresh but...” 

“No, I’m not doing this. He had his hands on someone else. He promised that it was just me and then this happened.” I choke back the tears. “Leia, I just...” 

“I know, sweetie. I’m sorry. Umm, Avery misses her auntie. Come by after for dinner?” 

“Sure,” I reply, desperately trying to will the tears away.  “I gotta go.”  

“Ok. Love you Stel.”  

“Love you too, Lee.” I hang up and turn my back on the door. I need air, I decide and head out to the patio area behind the arena. I watch as the bus pulls up and the team starts to disembark. I’m looking for him, even though I know he’s not going to be there. I give myself five more minutes before I head back inside.  

“I can’t believe they sent him home.” A familiar voice that grates my nerves is speaking around the corner.  I stop, knowing that I probably shouldn’t eavesdrop but decide to do it anyways. Kiley continues to speak. “I was hoping that I would get a chance to, you know, talk or maybe something more.”  

Another one of my trainers, Amanda, sighs. “I would love a chance with him. But rumor has it, that he has a girlfriend. They were just keeping it on the low since Jeremy wanted to protect her.”  

“If he had a girlfriend, he wouldn’t have been caught with his hands on the cookie jar, if you know what I mean.” Kiley snaps her gum. “Shame that the guys couldn’t have privacy at the bar that night.”  

Something about that sentence makes my danger alarm go off.  She’s right, it was odd that the guys didn’t get privacy in the bar. Usually, the bartenders and security are really good about making sure the guys are alone. It had to have been someone on the team or staff that took this photo.  I go back to the news article from a week ago and start researching.  

Two hours later and I think I have it.  The photo was sent to the newspaper via Instagram. But the photo taker was not given credit.  Just when I think I’m at the end of the road, something else catches my eye.  

BruinsBabiegurl: no credit for the photo? Booo! 

What the fuck? 

I click on her profile and see that it’s blocked.  Not wanting to get caught, I create a fake account and send an approval request. I decide to head home, and I shut down everything. As I’m exiting, I run into a wall.  Not a literal one. Just a goalie shaped on. “Oh Linus! I’m so sorry.”  

“Its ok, Stella.” He offers me a sad smile. “How are you?” 

I frown at his look. “I’m ok.”  

He slides his hands into the pocket of his jacket. “No, I mean, how are you after...” he trails off and understanding hit me. He means after the photo. Jeremy told him.  

“He told you, didn’t he?” 

“Yes. He’s a wreck, Stella.”  

“He did this to himself Linus.”  

“I don’t think he did. I was there and he was professing his love for his girl, no name given, before the incident with the woman.  He bumped into her, caught her, apologized and moved on. He took one more drink before Andy and I took him back to his room.  Alone.” I hug myself because I’ve known Linus a few years and he’s always been a good honest man. And with everything I found online, I think I might be wrong about Jeremy. Linus studies me and I think he can see the battle within me. “Stella, he loves you.”  

I shake my head. “No, he doesn’t. He... he just wanted a hook up.”  

“Stella, you love him.” He looks at me seriously. “Take your time. But give him a chance.” He leaves it there and walks away. I can feel a tear threatening to fall. I take a deep breath and head out.  

The next morning, as I am getting ready for morning skate, my phone dings. I look to see that my follow request was approved. I need coffee before I can take this on.  Maybe going to The Addicted, would be best. Public place so I don’t lose it. Logical.  

The coffee shop is busy, and I tuck myself into a corner. I’m sipping my coffee when I see him.  

Jeremy.  

His hat is low on his head and sunglasses on.  He stares at his phone or the menu but doesn’t look around. But his defeated posture tells me everything I need to know.  He’s sad, upset, frustrated all at once.  He takes his order, not looking anywhere but down and leaves. A couple of girls had giggled when they saw him, but he didn’t make a motion towards them.  It looked like he was just swiping though his phone.  

When he’s out of my sight line, I sigh and open Instagram. Navigating to the new “friend” I have made, I gasp, loudly, at the profile.  

It’s Kilye.  

Kiley had snapped the photo and wanted credit.  She wanted to make sure trouble came to Jeremy. I clench my fist. Even if it doesn’t fix my relationship with him, he didn’t deserve to get his privacy violated and lies told. I screen shot the original comment and the profile and send it to the GM with a message.  

Stella: I need to meet with you about this.   GM: tomorrow 10AM 

I don’t know how Jeremy can forgive me for all the things I said and did.  

But I get him some justice.  

The next day I call a meeting of all my athletic trainers at 930. Once the group is assembled, I call their attention. “It’s been brought to my attention that someone in the organization is taking photos of the team, without permission, and posting them. As many of you should remember, there was a privacy clause stating that photos must have the consent of the players in order to post. I am here to remind you that, even you think the photo is innocent or that you might not be caught because your profile is private, any photos taken and posted without consent is subject to evaluation and/or termination.”  

I look around and see all of the faces of confusion. Except Kiley. She looks nervous. “If you need a refresher on your contract, please let me know.”  

I finish the meeting with things we need to know about injuries and equipment for the start of the series before ending it five minutes to ten.  “Kiley, stay back please.”  

She rolls her eyes as she stands still, hip jutted out. She at least waited until everyone else left. “What do you want?” She popped her gum.  

“We have a meeting with the GM.  I need to make a decision on changes to the team. I wanted your input.” 

The surprise on her face was something that I will burn into my brain forever. She won’t see this coming and frankly, I don’t give a fuck about her.  “Oh, well, I didn’t think you appreciate my opinions. I mean since...” she trails off.  

“Well as much I hate you for meddling in my personal life, you are a good trainer.” As we make it through the management office doors, security appears behind us. “Too bad you were too stupid not to comment on the photo of Jeremy.” She pales, realizing that my speech was about her this morning. She turned to leave but security is behind us. I grab her arm and pull her towards the GM’s office. 

And I see him seated outside, swiping on his phone again. When he hears us, he looks up and is startled. He stands up. “Stella?” 

“Jeremy.” 

Before he can ask, the door opens, and Andy and the GM open the door. Andy looks at me curiously. “Stel?” 

“I need to talk to you and the GM.” I take a deep breath. “And Jeremy.”

hi...ok so I am not trying to be negative but I really wanna vent my feelings...I am now 100% convinced that Eddie is not coming back, especially after seeing the memorial statue leak and Dustin's arm tattoo....at most they will give Eddie a flashback to traumatize Dustin and the rest of the fandom...I'm so disappointed in the writers for that because they could've sent a good message by bringing Eddie back... making it interesting but all they will do is give Eddie the justice4barb re-heated storyline and Dustin's entire story arc would be the same as Nancy's in s2...Dustin deserves an original storyline, not a re-heated mess...also the fact that we have not gotten anything related to Joseph Quinn on the set...like not a single leak...so it is safe to say Eddie may not be back, regardless of that I will still watch s5 as I have been a fan since s1,

it just makes me so sad because I have never had a fav character in Stranger Things...like I loved all the characters but I never had a fav until s4 with Eddie, tbh I don't wanna watch s5 just out of spite but ik I will end up watching it...

Sorry for the late reply, I've wanted to think about this because you're right, the Duffers aren't exactly great writers and I'd definitely agree that it would fit if they'd just leave him dead and give him the re-heated Barb story line, but the thing is, there have been hints at his return, and of them that absolutely can't have been a coincidence, which is the background colour of his Netflix icon. That was intentional and we know from previous seasons that that's exactly the kind of hint they'd drop for us to spot.

As for the leaks...it's been almost a year of filming and we didn't get any leaks and now that they're about to wrap the internet is flooded with them. There will always be leaks, most of them fake, and this is the final season of one of the biggest shows ever, not on Netflix but in general. I firmly believe that every leak out there is either made up but people seeking attention for a few seconds or made up by Netflix people who know exactly that leaks are a) an amazing way to keep the hype up/rekindle it in preparation for the release of the season and b) who know they can use fake leaks to steer our attention to other things. Don't you think it's weird that there are no Eddie leaks at all? I mean, he was the most celebrated and hyped up character of the series to the point the producers called our love for him the Eddie Phenomenon, and Joe Quinn is still being asked on a regular basis whether Eddie will return. They know we're waiting for anything to give that away. Yet there's not one single leak out there regarding Eddie - not ones telling us he'll be back and also not a single one telling us he definitely won't be back. All these leaks and especially leaked photos feel staged to hold our attention at where they want it to be. Again, I could be wrong, but a perfectly clear shot of Steve and Dustin at the epilogue of the story dropping the huge spoiler that they'll both survive? It's either fake, or seriously makes me wonder what's gonna happen in this season if such a huge thing is revealed before the first teaser trailer actually dropped.

I mean, that's just my opinion/ gut feeling and my two cents about the matter because in the end we don't know anything about the final season yet, but...I still believe he'll be back. (And if he truly doesn't return in the final season, I'm absolutely certain they'll give him a spin-off series like they did with Loki.)

If it ever comes down to shipping I’m on the side of wanting to build an emotional connection and entire story and dynamic for the ocs, bc detail is everything to me…I love small details too like it doesn’t have to be big and matter but it makes the oc feel real and better to play in my opinion. I've finished playing through Another Code Recollection!

You can see my thoughts on the "Two Memories" part in this first post on the topic. But now we've got to talk about how they handled "A Journey into Lost Memories."

A lot of North American players probably never experienced the Wii original. But as big lover of CING's games, I soft-modded my Wii and imported the European release of "Another Code R." And I loved the CRAP out of it. They really took the innovative puzzles of the DS original and took them to a new level with the Wii Remote.

So. How does the "Recollection" version of ACR fare by comparison?

As I expected after playing through Two Memories, the new puzzles in the "Recollection" version of ACR are a lot simpler than the original. These are more typical to what you find in adventure games and less, shall we say, experimental. There's not nearly as much effort put into using the Switch's unique form/functionality in unexpected ways, but I still had fun solving them. I even got momentarily stymied by two of them this time! The "Two Memories" remake only ONCE had me stuck like this, so I really think they gave "A Journey into Lost Memories" a bit of escalated challenge, and I appreciate it!

Similar to how they removed the bad ending from "Two Memories," they took out some of the possible branches/decisions in ACR for this remake. You no longer have any means by which to identify/describe your lost bag to Dan, ultimately affecting whether you get it back later in the game; the path to retrieving your bag is now different and linear. The subplot where Ashley is briefly accused of robbing the guesthouse also only has ONE solution now. In the original ACR, if you were clever enough to snap a picture of Matthew in the back room while peeking through the blinds, you could actually bypass the entire "prove your innocence" semi-puzzle by just showing that photo to Tommy. But you can't pull out your camera during that part of the story in the remake, so you have to deal with the puzzle no matter what.

3. I positively love the redesign of Janet??? What a glow-up! They added some much-needed diversity into this one with her and Ranger Dan's new look, too. You can tell that both Janet and Dan are now people of some color.

4. The biggest shock is just how much Recollection changed the story of ACR. This is most notably present in how everything wraps up and comes together at the end. Matthew's storyline is NOT left hanging for a future game to pick up this time... he gets closure, though I admit the actual "solution" to his mystery doesn't quite add up and feels a little half-assed. But I understand that the devs had their hands tied a bit here... how do you end his storyline when you don't have a whole other game to expound upon the answers and you ALSO don't want to spend a ton of time destracting further from Ashley's own plotline? It's a tough situation.

5. The biggest change is undoubtedly Ryan Gray. Without spoiling anything, I'll just say that Ryan's entire backstory is now different and MUCH more sci-fi in nature. It gets pretty wild! It does at least tie into the resolution to Matthew's storyline, although he also loses some of what made his ending so satisfying in the process. But in fairness, he also GAINS something: Ryan becomes more a sympathetic presence and far less of an emotionally detached person in this version of the story. However, unlike in the original ACR, Ryan no longer leads us to learning the ultimate mastermind behind all the tragedy in the series. Which is... a hell of a choice to make, because now it's kept very VAGUE who the actual mastermind was. I'm not sure if the game actually says who it is (one person is clearly implied to be responsible, but... ) or just leaves it vague for a possible future installment. But shit, if you were gonna do that why not just leave Matthew's storyline the same at that point... ?

6. There are other small changes throughout, of course. Most of them have no real impact on the storytelling to me, but personally, I really missed the scene where Ashley talks to Matthew about D from the first game after Matthew first witnesses a ghost. It's a great moment I wish they'd kept. Also, a funny change is that the characer of Sam Hillman - who never really did jack shit in the original game - is just straight-up removed now. Janet gets a slightly expanded role that lets her step into Sam's position instead. Sorry/not sorry, Sam. LOL.

7. It is once again impossible to overstate the value of the enhanced presentation. The voice cast does an absolutely amazing job throughout, and the more detailed facial animations give Ashley so much more SASS than she ever had before. I fucking LOVE it.

8. The ending credits had me literally choking up... just like the end credits of the original ACR did, but in a totally different way. The montage of beautiful artwork and that pencil-style animation of Ashley feeling hopeful and full of joy is just... SO beautiful. Seeing Ashley in her original outfit from ACR! Seeing Matthew with his dad! Seeing Charlotte's extended family! KYLE FUCKING HYDE cameo appearance! (So glad to see MORE confirmation of the shared CING universe.) That ENDING SONG - so beautiful and touching!!! LOOOOOOVE.

9. Ultimately, if you asked me "Is it better to play the original Trace Memory/Another Code games or just play Recollection?" I'd say "Yes." I can't honestly decide if I love this revision or the originals more, so just PLAY ASHLEY'S GAMES. The story is better presented and the dialogue is better-written here, but I prefer the puzzles and small branches/choices in the originals. But either way: They're beautiful, satisfying stories that, even when they're sometimes predictable, are still thoroughly worth experiencing and full of delightful characters and touching resolutions. I want more people to love these characters as much I do. JUST PLEASE PLAY.
