Hi! If they're still open I was wondering if I could have a romantic hazbin hotel match up? If not, no worries, just ignore.... I don't do this a lot so I'm kinda nervous....
Im Demisexual, and heterosexual. I go by she/her. My zodiac sign is Cancer
Im really closed off when you first meet me but when you get to know me I'm really outgoing and wierd.....
I like collecting things that I have no actual use for. Like pop tabs, or funko pops. I've also been wanting to collect more rubber ducks ever since I've seen the show (blame the king of hell). Before I even knew what the show was I already had like 4 rubber ducks. For absolutely no reason. However, I love cats, they're my favorite animals. I have tons of cat related things it's getting out of hand.
Generally I'm a very emotional person. It takes a lot for me to act the way I do in public and by the time I get home I get really tired.... Im pretty depressed most of the time, which doesn't help with anything when I have small collections because I don't clean up right away due to lack of energy.
I love all types of music, and have been a singer since I was a kid. I went through 7 years of choir, and only a year of music lessons on the side. I'm currently going to college for a fine arts major and I enjoy drawing a lot. I also make jewelry and tend to give the things I make to people as presents for holidays or just for fun.
My sleep schedule is complete shit and I'm tired a lot. I have major anxiety so when I get too tired or depressed to do anything my brain yells at me. It's so fun...
Thats all I can think of with this....
Again, if you're not doing these anymore just ignore! Don't stress yourself out too much...
𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕓𝕖𝕖𝕟 𝕞𝕒𝕥𝕔𝕙𝕖𝕕 𝕨𝕚𝕥𝕙…
𝓢𝓲𝓻 𝓟𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓾𝓼!
Your first meeting with him was most likely at the hazbin hotel! Not on purpose you might've gotten lost and he noticed and started trying to help you
Turns out you didn't really know where you were going since you were a new arrival in hell! So you ended up staying at the hazbin hotel!
You would start collecting random things every now and then around the hotel like your funko pops or some ducks that you found laying around outside Charlie's room and he would notice and give them to you whenever he would find some more
This would start a conversation between you two
"I found sssome more to add to your collection dear!"
He was most likely very shy at first but soon started to man up and began giving you more and more things. He's a huge gift giver so that's also a plus
He'll end up most likely collecting things with you and you both might even end up starting up a collection together!
You and him love cats (just look at him and keekee :) )
You both get along with keekee a lot and play with her and sometimes go out with her when Charlie is too busy to do so and Vaggie can't
You both are some of her favorite residents at the hotel :)
You most likely have a few photos with just you, him and keekee saved on your phone or in your room. (Charlie has one with the three on you in the lobby just because she thought it was adorable)
"Isssn't that jussst a lovely picture of usss!"
He loves that you're emotional because he can't really be with someone who's not. He needs someone who can understand him in terms of emotion and I feel like you fill the role pretty well
When you get too tired to clean up your collections he will be more than glad to do it for you. He'll even clean your room from time to time if its really bad or if you get sick
"Get well sssoon my dear!"
I also feel like you two would get along pretty well since you both have an artsy side to you him with his gadgets and you with drawings and music
Sometimes he'll take inspiration from your drawings and make a machine from that
That's actually kinda how he confessed. He probably saw you drawing something and then made a machine that opened up and said 'Will you go out with me?' it took him a lot of guts (and wing-manning from angel) but he finally did it and was ecstatic when you said yes
He loves to hear you sing and will always encourage it especially when he's working
"Can you sssing thissss?"
He's never really had a singing voice but he'll always try and sing with you from time to time
Whenever you give him jewelry of some kind he'll keep it forever and always wear some piece of it. Necklace, bracelet, earrings, you name it and he'll wear it.
He'll also help you fix your sleep schedule every now and then :)

Have You Ever Considered Craft Supplies Instead Of Drugs? Then This Might Be For You.
Kyōtani Kentarou x reader, sfw, fluff, 1,691word count
His room for the most part was clean. It’s main function was for sleep though. This was apparent. His clothes, which were mainly basketball shorts and blank t-shirts, were scattered about in a way that told you he threw them there when going to bed.
Kyotani had told you to give him a few minutes, while he was in the bathroom brushing his teeth and struggling with the cap of his eyeliner pen. You felt comfortable enough in his apartment to check the fridge and see if anything was worth your while. But still you felt a bit like an intruder in his bedroom, which is where you had wandered off to.
The walls were white, mostly bare. There was a poster up for some band you didn't recognize, and another one advertising the Sendai Frogs that looked like he had ripped it off one wall to get onto his. You smiled at the thought of him stealing the poster from the grocery store display window or stadium parking lot.
You give his room one last once over before turning to leave. On your way out you trip over a shoe box. You would have just ignored it but a few tufts of paper flew out from the lid. You bend down to collect them but find that these aren't just trash from the shoe box. Quietly, and with a tinge of guilt, you kneel down to gently put the papers back in the box. The little scraps of paper you had found were actually sticky notes, you couldn't decipher the writing on them because of how faded and old the paper was.
You get one quick glimpse inside the shoe box on Kyotani’s floor. There are dozens of papers, printed photos, receipts, tickets, and what you assume are old keys. You feel like you've seen something very private of Kyotani’s and when you turn around to find him standing in the doorway, you gasp in shock.
“What are you doing in here?”
He seems more concerned and confused about you versus the fact that you are in his room. You decide sarcasm is the best choice of action.
“What? You embarrassed about me being in your bedroom?”
“Shut up and get out!”
Kyotani puts his hands on your shoulders and tosses you out into the hallway.
“Hey, hey, what time is it because we might actually be late to the movie now,”
You say pulling out your phone to get a glance at the clock. There was only twenty minutes before you were supposed to be at the theater.
“We’ll be fine, the trailers always play for too long anyways”
He says leading you out the front door.
☽༓・*˚⁺‧·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩*̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ .·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ .‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾
When the team wins a game and you head out to eat with the guys afterwards, your eyes don't usually follow Kyotani’s hands so closely. You hope that no one else has picked up on your new habit. But last week's venture into his bedroom has left you reeling in thought.
Kyotani doesn't really like to be hugged. During movie nights he sits separate from the pile of pillows and bodies. He tolerates head pats and high fives. When he hangs up the phone you can feel how difficult it is for him to say something like “bye I love you” platonic or not.
You hadn't really considered it before, at least not so intently in relation to Kyotani. Most people were easy to understand in their affections and how they garnered it. Or if they weren't so obvious, they made some sort of distinction, a simple “I don't like when people do this” or “I prefer this”.
Being friends with Kyotani you had assumed that he was content with what people gave him because he never asked for more. He didn't hug you when you two parted ways, and you never forced him to. He didn't ask or push on others boundaries but now after seeing that shoe box you wondered why he had never advocated for his own. You thought perhaps it wasnt that Kyotani disliked those other forms of affection or care, but rather he didn't regard those other acts as affections at all.
The sounds of the restaurant fade back in as your thoughts simmer down. You feel Tsukishima and Yamaguchi next to you. Enthralled in a conversation about some show they had been binging together. Apparently Yamaguchi had watched a few episodes without Tsukishima and everyone found the annoyed, bitter expression on Tsukishima hilarious, the table erupting in laughter.
“You good? You've been staring at nothing for five minutes,”
Kyotani said to you before taking another bite into his food. He sat across from you, his elbows propping him up over his plate of food.
“Yeah, just tired today,”
You say shaking your head as if trying to wake yourself up.
As the evening wears on, your eyes still follow Kyotani’s hands. Trying to catch the moment of thievery in action. To see if your contemplations are grounded in Kyotani’s actions or rather thoughts with nothing to hold as they pass you by.
But as everyone files out of the restaurant, the bill already split, the copy of the receipt abandoned on the table, you watch as Kyotani lingers for just a moment, to pocket the slip of paper.
☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ .·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ .‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾
You couldn't remember the last time you had attempted to burn a CD. Was it you who did it or a friend? It was years ago though that was for sure. You had made three playlists on spotify, checking and double checking that they were private playlists. After arranging them and finding the songs that fit just right with each list you started finding youtube videos of each song. From there you converted the links to MP3 audio.
While your computer whirred and the audio filed loaded onto the disk you thought about decorating the CD cases. Of course covering the clear plastic case with glitter gel pen and cute stickers was very tempting. But you weren't sure that was Kyotani’s style. At the same time this was supposed to be a gift from you. You met yourself halfway. Decorating one CD case like how you would have wanted, and the other with more of a Kyotani flair, the third somewhere in between the two.
When the CD’s were done you carefully placed them into their new plastic homes. Grabbing a black sharpie to scribble the playlist names onto each. You felt like wrapping them would be too extravagant so you settled for tying a ribbon around the two.
☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ .·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ .‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾
“What the hell do you want?” Kyotani says as he pulls up next to you on the curb outside your place. You had texted him earlier while he was at work, asking if could stop by after he got off. He has the window rolled down and you take it upon yourself to unlock the passenger door and climb inside.
"I wanted you to test these out"
You were hoping that you had done everything right with the computer. You hand him the CD's, he flips them over in his hands inspecting them.
“Is it cool if I take these ribbons off?”
You nod and he turns the car radio on to insert the CD’s. As the first song starts playing you turn to him.
“This is that band you like right? The one on that poster in your room?”
Kyotani is visibly flustered by this.
“Yes? Did you...did you make these for me?”
You throw your head back in a laugh.
“Yes, I made them for you,”
“Oh,”
He says in a rather soft amazed tone.
“Look, I didn't mean to, but when I was in your room the other day I tripped over that shoe box you have,”
You keep your eyes trained on the street outside the dashboard window. Unsure and a bit nervous to see what Kyotani is thinking. Tempted by curiosity though, you do look at him for a brief moment, only to find him also intensely staring off into the street. His face lit up red with embarrassment.
“I’m glad that I saw it though. Because that stuff is important to you and I want to know what you think is important”
The air in the car feels like it is clinging to your skin with tension. You think the pressure will start to crack your bones when Kyotani’s voice splinters the suspense.
“It's easier to feel something when its tangible, when you can hold it, it's why people still buy polaroids and go to museums and shit”
You nod, a jovial ease overcoming you as he continues to speak.
“I don't really like, uh, I guess physical affection or even talking or it’s not like talking, people call it words of affirmation or whatever,”
You hold the smile of your lips down, you don't want him to think you’re teasing him in this moment. You're just happy that he is comfortable enough with you to say such things.
“I know lots of other people like to have those types of things though, and I worked really hard to get used to stuff, but I don't know, this is what I like,”
He says gesturing with the CD case to you.
“I mean so like, birthday cards, post-it notes, bus transfers? Things that are directly attached to memories and people? Anything else you want me to know about?”
While it hurts a little that he’s struggling to talk about this matter, you can't help but revel in the unusual brash shyness of Kyotani. He does mutter something, but when you lean in closer to signal that you didn't hear him the first time he repeats himself.
“Event pamphlets. I know it's trash but I like it”
“Promise you won't get mad?”
You drawl your voice out and make it sweet so he knows you're messing with him.
“Hm?”
He says, eyebrow quirked in question.
“I think you'd be really into scrapbooking”
“Shut the hell up before I kick you out of my car”

coping mechanisms : a.h
everyone has their ways of coping with traumatic events, but it’s finally time you faced yours. (2.5K)
m y e t s y s h o p
also pls don’t steal my work or share it without crediting, it takes a lot of time and effort to write these!
Sitting on the jet, you were abnormally quiet. Usually, the team couldn’t get you and Spencer to stop talking about anything and everything. Yet today, a strange silence loomed over you as Spencer rambled on about statistics, whilst Hotch tried to catch gaze from across the table that everyone besides you noticed.
“You know, based on Greek mythology, Ares is the God of War, son of Hera and Zeus and is one of the twelve Olympians. He’s also the equivalent of Mars in Roman mythology.” Spencer finishes his explanation with a small smile towards the team as your eyes remain fixated on the case file in front of you, something that didn’t go amiss by Hotch.
“So, this unsub thinks of himself as a God?” JJ questions as she scrolls through the various photos on her tablet of the nine victims so far.
“Each one has a new symbol on them, you see, on their wrists?” You finally speak up to everyone’s surprise. “Spence, are these symbols correlating to the other eleven Olympians?” You ask, focusing on your best friends gaze as his smile meets his eyes.
Taking in all of the images, Spencer nods. “It looks that way, but this one here, the sun which would symbolise Apollo, the God of archery, music, dance, healing diseases, truth and prophecy, and more recognisably sun and light. But it isn’t quite complete, looks as if the unsub was interrupted.” Spencer explains, watching as your interest quickly declines, and you lean back into your seat.
“Maybe there will be some security footage outside of the bar leading toward the alleyway the victim was found.” Hotch states, closing his case file as the jet begins to descend. “Morgan, I want you and JJ to go to the ME’s office, see if the symbols all correlate and any other marks that may be on the victims. Rossi, you and Reid go to the crime scene where Olivia Collins was found, see if anyone in the area saw anything. Y/n, you and I will go to the station.” Hotch tries to see if you’ll even focus on him, but you’ve retreated into yourself, shut down.
Eventually, you nod along with everyone else, unaware of the concern etched in Hotch’s hardened expression as you close your eyes, rubbing your temple as you lean against the window.
*
“Agent Hotchner?” A man walks over to you and Hotch, holding his hand out. “Officer Richards, a pleasure to meet you.”
“This is SSA Y/L/N, where would you like us to set up?” Hotch asks as you follow behind him to a free room, passing the blur of noise of phone calls and officers talking. “Y/n?” Hotch calls out your name, snapping out of your daze.
“Sorry,” You apologise, feeling the heat rising through your cheeks as Hotch hums to himself.
“Is something wrong, Y/n?” Hotch questions as he sits down beside you in the private office, his hands resting on the table. “If there is, you can tell me, especially if it affects your ability to work on the case.” Hotch tells you, his voice softer as your eyes grow heavy once more as you hide your hands in your lap.
“I don’t know Hotch,” You sigh. “and that’s the issue.”
Rising to his feet, Hotch closes the door to the room, shutting out the noise from the rest of the station as he returns to his seat beside you. “You didn’t sleep last night, did you? You seemed jittery on the jet.” Hotch states, not even needing you to agree with him.
“I just,” You struggle to form the correct words as you focus on your boss who looks back at you with a gentle expression. “I’m not feeling like myself, Hotch. And I just, I don’t know what to do about it anymore.”
Silence falls over you both as you play with the hem of your shirt, not wanting to face your bosses reaction. “Is it related to Utah?” Hotch watches as you tense at the mention of it. “If it is, you’re still entitled to see someone about it, Y/n.”
“But it was months ago, Hotch.” You comment quickly. “I should be over it, I moved on, I got better.” You explain. “So why is it now coming back to haunt me?” You exhale deeply.
“What happened to you in Utah isn’t something you can just walk away from, Y/n. You were captured and beaten, held at gunpoint in front of all of us to watch.” Hotch pauses as tears form in your eyes, one escaping as it glides across your cheek.
It was a sight Hotch will never be able to forget. He was the first one to find you in that building as you lay on the ground too weak to move. You were muttering nonsense as you screamed in pain when he tried to help you to your feet.
You were gone for three weeks, and in that time you were filmed being tortured and threatened to be killed whilst your team watched on a live stream. Hotch had never felt so useless since Hayley had died, and he didn’t dare want to risk losing you too, even if he had never said anything about how he felt.
“I know, I just want to forget about it.” You admit, wiping your eyes quickly with the cuff of your sleeve. “I have to.” You forcefully state before reaching over for the case files, but Hotch places his hand on the file, stopping you from taking it.
“Y/n,” Hotch starts with his authoritative tone. “you need to speak to someone when the case is over, and that’s an order.”
“I will, Hotch.” You force a small smile, taking the file and delving in deeper to the evidence that’s been collected so far.
“I’m saying that as your boss, and, and as a friend, okay?” Hotch adds softly, witnessing your forced smile soften into something genuine, even if it were for a split second, it returned.
*
You were getting closer, four more bodies had been found with the symbols of Hermes, Ares, Posideon and Hades carved into their wrists.
“What if the unsub knows we’re onto him? And this is his endgame now?” JJ suggests.
“But he hasn’t finished all twelve.” You state bluntly, ignoring the look on JJ’s face as you rise to your feet and look over the victim pool once more.
“Maybe that doesn’t matter to him.” Hotch comments, stepping toward you as he stands by your side, his back turned to everyone else. “Keep level, Y/L/N.” He mutters to you, a shudder going through your body as Hotch averts his attention back to the rest of the team. “Each of his victims has been associated in some way with each Olympian. Maybe he doesn’t have all twelve in the first place.”
“He’s halfway through the twelve though, why stop now?” Emily speaks up as Garcia interrupts and appears on the screen.
“Good afternoon my favourite crime fighters. I’ve discovered something that I think might help with your suspect pool.” Garcia states brightly. “It looks as if the victims were all part of the same after school club in High School. All from different friend groups and societies, but they all attended the Greek mythology club at Preston State.”
“How many others were involved in this group, baby girl?” Morgan asks, leaning forward as you listen to the sound of Garcia typing becoming further and further away.
“Four others. There’s Hayden Lewis who is currently serving seven months in jail for possession of drugs, Jordan Littlewood, she moved upstate to Michigan last year, Elise Harding and oh,” Garcia pauses, and you zone back into the room as you reach for the back of a chair to support yourself on.
“What?” JJ enquiries as Penelope pushes her glasses back up her nose, focusing on the camera.
“When the group was in school, there was a fire in the same block that the club was held in. It says that six students and one teacher were killed in the accident, including Greek mythology club member, Timothy Cardel.” Garcia sadly sighs.
“What time of day did the fire occur Garcia?” Spencer leans forward in his chair, and you can see the cogs whirring behind his eyes.
“Erm,” Garcia hums to herself until she clicks on something. “3:35 pm on a Tuesday.”
“What’re you thinking, Reid?” Hotch focuses on Spencer as you take a seat, catching Hotches eye for a split second before Spencer starts to explain his thought process.
“Most school clubs happen after school, meaning there’s a high possibility the Greek mythology club was held on a Tuesday after school, and all the members were there when the fire happened. If school finishes at 3, then they would’ve all been in that building when the fire started.” Spencer explains, and you nod along.
“Meaning Timothy got left behind.” You state coldly, all eyes turning to you.
“I think we’re ready to deliver the profile,” Hotch announces as he rises to his feet, the rest of you following suit.
*
Fastening the velcro around your vest, you place your gun into its holster, unaware of Hotch hovering by the doorway as you exit.
“Y/n,” Catching you by surprise, you jump before glaring to Hotch. “sorry,” He tries to sound sincere, but a small smile creeps into his face as you relax beside him. “are you sure you want to do this? It might be best if you stay at the station.” Hotch suggests in a low tone.
“No,” You respond too quickly. “I, I want to come. I’m fine, really.” You add, nodding to yourself as you walk on, but Hotch reaches for your arm, pulling you back.
Your eyes focus on his hand resting on your arm, and quickly Hotch removes his hand from your arm. “I just don’t want you getting hurt.” He tells you sincerely, something you’ve heard countless times, but something about this seems different. No one else in the team is around, they’re all outside waiting for you both.
“I won’t.” You mutter in response, moving aside from Hotch as you exit the building, thankful for some fresh air as your vest is starting to feel constrictive.
Upon arriving at the unsubs house, you’re already feeling the humidity getting to you worse than it had been the entire time you’d been in the city. Spencer joked when the jet landed that you’ll get used to it, that fewer layers were key and Garcia would’ve loved a chance to see Morgan in fewer layers; but this was far from pleasant.
As you all filed out, guns at the ready Morgan followed behind Hotch whilst you’re on the tail end of the team.
You were unintentionally squinting as you listen to the sound of Morgan kicking the front door in as Hotch’s firm voice fills your ears.
“Y/n?” Snapping out from the blurred house, three versions of Spencer takes over your peripheral. “Hey, let’s sit down, okay?” Spencer speaks quietly, delicately as he reaches out to take a hold of your arm, but you jolt away.
“Get off me.” You snap, walking past him as your vision only worsens and the humidity seeps through your clothing, itching your skin as each step feels weighted until you reach the steps of the house.
Hotch emerges behind JJ and Morgan as they hold the unsub, passing you quickly, hiding their concerned looks.
“Y/L/N?” Hotch steps closer, capturing a glimpse of panic in your eyes just as you pass out as your head hits the pavement.
*
Cold coffee and stale doughnuts. The well worn in fabric beneath you had a spring sticking out, jabbing against your left thigh. You were back in the station. But what was more surprising was the hushed sound of a conversation ending between two of your colleagues whilst your eyes remained closed.
“Do you think you’ll ever tell her?” Rossi mutters as he averts his gaze from your ‘sleeping’ form to Hotch, who is unable to take his eyes from you for a single second.
“I’m not sure, Dave.” Hotch admits, wanting to reach out and brush the stray hairs out of your face, but he doesn’t want to risk waking you up, not yet at least. “Maybe someday, but not today.”
Rossi tuts to himself. “You’re letting all the good ones slip out of your grasp, Aaron,” Rossi comments. “and you know how much Jack loves her.”
The mention of Jack causes your heart to swell, and it takes everything for you to not smile as you gain consciousness.
“He’s not the only one,” Hotch adds, just as a yawn escapes your lips and you begin to open your eyes.
“Hey sleeping beauty,” Rossi speaks up, rising to his feet whilst Hotch stays glued to his chair beside you.
Slowly, you try to sit upright but Hotch leans forward, his hands hovering over your shoulders. “I’d just stay lying for a while if I were you.” Hotch suggests as you nod along, forcing yourself back down.
“I’ll go check on the others, let them know you’re alright.” Rossi excuses himself, leaving a heavy silence over you and Hotch.
“Are you ready to talk about what happened?” Hotch asks, his stern gaze concentrated on the exhaustion in yours.
“No time like the present.” You force a laugh, ignoring Hotch’s prior suggestion and sit upright as a slight pang crosses your temples. “I’m going to take some leave when we get back to Quantico.” You tell Hotch, watching as he nods.
“I think it’s for the best, Y/L/N.” He responds, catching the sight of your leg bouncing for a moment before you rest your hand on your thigh, forcing it to remain still.
“I know I’m due for a lecture, and a debriefing about the mission,” You hold back the urge to sigh, but Hotch beats you to it as a heavy sigh leaves his lips, causing you to smile.
The sight of a smile crossing your face is too contagious at the moment between you both. “We can talk more when we’re back. For now, I think it’s best if we just got you home in one piece.” Hotch stands up and hovers beside you, his arm extended as you gratefully accept.
“Thanks, Hotch.” You smile softly up to him as you exit the sheriff's office and near the rest of your team.
After a series of short questions, you’re all heading towards the jet.
“I couldn’t be happier to go home.” JJ sighs as she rests her head in her hand, looking out at the city as you near the airport.
Sitting beside Hotch in the passenger seat, your eyes glance over to him. “Me too,” You reply, a smile gracing your lips, knowing there’s more yet to be discussed with Hotch, including what he said before you fully woke up. “me too.”

Sleepy Hollow Season 4 Episode 2
"In Plain Sight" (SPOILER ALERT) We open with Crane in the D.C. library, where he’s taunted by a fleeting ghost skittering hither and yon around the room. “Leftenant?!” he ask-yells, and just like when we opened with an Ichabbie photo montage. It turns out Crane was just experiencing a vision coaxed by a Tibetan singing bowl. In reality, he’s on Jenny’s bus and they’re using the bowl as a “witness detector” to find Abbie 2.0. We learn Jenny moved to D.C. for Crane, which is cute, and the bus sits in some kind of auto-salvage yard. Crane goes down to see his new pals Jake and Alex at their library to read up about his vision. Meanwhile, there’s some mumbo-jumbo going down in a coven house with a trio of billionaires and slimy-coiffed billionaire Malcolm. There’s talk of a blade and talk of a stone, which Malcolm obtains by the end of the hour, the latest in his week-by-week collection of artifacts to, presumably, usher in an apocalypse or at least one of the Tribulations. After the coven refuses to hand over the “witch stone,” since protecting said stones is apparently their sacred duty, Malcolm’s all, “You do know that what you’re guarding actually has nothing whatsoever to do with witches?” They don’t believe him until he points out that they’re magical witch powers include always knowing when someone’s lying, so if they’re not feeling that way now, he must be telling the truth. Gotcha, ladies! The two hotter witches attack their leader and she winds up dead in a field outside their house. Meanwhile, Diana is trying to send Molly off to school, except she doesn’t know how to make pancakes. It's the first time I was able to empathize with her as more than a stock, tough-talking, lady-cop character. The pancakes bit was sweet and I could relate to her worrying aloud about how long of a phase Molly’s silence would be. Against her better judgment, Diana eventually calls Crane to check out the witch’s crime scene. Crane then admits he recognizes the victim and there’s a flashback involving George Washington, Benedict Arnold, and some witches. Crane and Diana trade bits of backstory in the car, with him revealing he was once married to a witch and her refusing to reveal what’s up with her baby daddy. Diana then gets a call alerting them to the witches’ Night at the Roxbury murders. When she puts her smartphone down in its cradle, Crane sees Molly’s face pic and realizes she’s his new co-Witness since she’s the girl from his vision. Jenny reacts to this information by instigating a one-woman stakeout at Molly’s school. She sees Molly getting pushed around by two Mean Girls and TOTALLY STEPS TO THEM! When Diana and Crane arrive at the scene, there’s a big, drawn-out moment as he sees Molly for the first time. Molly, in turn, sees him and cocks he head and says cutely, “Hello.” Diana’s really pissed about Jenny casing out her kid, which I get, but I also think she’s overreacting. Apologies are made and accepted, then Crane, Jenny and Diana return to the murder house to kill off these other witches. The grandfather clock is somehow involved and when it is ultimately destroyed, so too are the witches. Jenny and Crane decide they’re impressed by Diana not totally losing it, since she only needs “a minute” to recuperate after seeing, you know, actual witches for the first time in her life. They then decide Diana is ready to learn that her daughter is a Witness to the Apocalypse, but they change their mind after staking out her house and finding her and Molly having an adorable time together eating breakfast for supper.

Drawing machine commenced with artist discussions: talking about artists and researching artists whom used drawing machine to construct art. We looked into a variety of artists such as Rebecca Horn (she created many drawing machines such as a giant balloon with charcoal-pencils attached to the outside which would then draw onto the walls as the user would move around inside the balloon). Rebecca also created a drawing machine which included the user to wear a helmet (strapped around the head) with pencil attachments to it. We then looked into the idea generating strategies such as selecting keywords: ‘Drawing’ and ‘Machine’ writing down words that relate to each one of these keywords. We also brain stormed propositions from Drawing Machine and came up with many ideas such as, ‘Performance: Orchestra and tools of the trade’ and simple ideas such as ‘filling water balloons with paint; gravity-based machines and mirrors and reflections.’ We also developed a few of these ideas by extending on them exploring methods to achieve additions such as adding restrictive wear, extending limbs and asking what if questions to try to gather new interests/ideas.
We settled with Tools of The Trade. Evolving this idea further by creating lists and adding additional ideas to it. We wrote a list of tools and started to draw some tools which we thought could be interesting and could add some interesting features in terms of mark making. Items such as drills and a jackhammer were what first came to mind which we then started to discuss how we could get them to operate.
Reminding each other of new what if questions and jotting them down, we finally came up with a what if question that suited the team’s work.
‘What if an Art degree was taken as serious as Industrial Degrees?’
A drill could be manipulated quite well by taking advantage of its rotating facility. Adding a 3-way function or a 4-way function where 1 extended body could be holding a brush, the other a pencil, a sponge and the other filled with something. We started to sketch this idea out and then discussing our ideas and sharing the ideas between our group. We also took advantage of creating a group chat to help with planning/idea generating when we were at home or unable to make it into the studio at the same time as the other group members.
We then started to make prototypes of our ideas. I made a prototype of a jackhammer and put it to the test. I wasn’t completely satisfied with the prototype, so I thought of ways that I could make this more interesting. So, I added a restrictive band to add more effort into the mark makings when I push the jackhammer down towards the floor. I felt that this would have an effective/serendipitous way of making different marks on the drawing surface when we decided to film our process of the Drawing Machine. I used duct tape all around my Drawing Machine to hold the shape and to allow people to see the design clearly. This also added strength to the machine when testing.
The idea of creating a mood board/collage of our ideas was a great way to boost inspiration. We wanted to produce something that is a performance rather than a documentary type of product something that has inspiration from current/past videography. We research many works that used tools/’Drawing Machine’ in video performance. Benny Bennasi - Satisfaction Foxes - Let go for tonight
After thoroughly planning our work, putting methods into place and discussing what our plan/outcome was, it was time to put together our Drawing Machines. I used the workshop, CAD/CAM and Laser Design. I drew out my idea as a rough sketch in my sketchbook with measurements. The design was then drawn onto Adobe illustration and transferred to a different software, ‘Rhino’. I then drew the drawing on Rhino and turned it into a 3D drawing with the help of the Laser cutting Technician. The drawing was then transferred over to the Laser cutter and the process then began onto MDF wood.
I then painted all the individual pieces of MDF wood cuttings with white acrylic paint, but these needed many layers as I found that MDF is very thirsty and like to draw in all the moisture from the paint. I then started to fix these pieces together with the glue gun which was a fiddly situation. During this process, I realised that I needed to find out how to get the handles and the hammer attached to this build. So, I used my PVC piping and made some simple cuts in the Wood Workshop. I used a 3-way attachment elbow to hold them all together. I hot glued them securely so that they wouldn’t fall out of the elbow. I then fixed them into position (inside the machine) and continued to hot glue the machine together.
I felt that the drawing machine would be too fragile if I just hot glued the sides, so I made the decision to hot glued the seams like you would if you were sealing with silicone. This added to security and kept a firm body to the product.
The team then started to collect together resources for the project. Creating additional collages and collaged timeframes, but we felt that we didn’t want to create a complete timeframe as we wouldn’t completely follow it and the video would look better with organic ideas rather than a structured idea.
The first shot we filled was the Wrecking Ball colliding with the wall, covered in paint. It was very successful and created some beautiful marks, textures and weights within the surfaces of our space.
We progressed to filming and photographing each section of the set up. I also was taking some photos/videos from my phone to capture some interesting shots. Creating a Gif of the saw was a nice touch and also close ups if the drawings. Each drawing we made with the Drawing Machine was simply beautiful and would look amazing as a drawing on its own; an installation or even a collaborative product. I love the contrasting marks the machines left behind each press and movement. I particularly like how the drill made nice smooth, curved and opaque marks and how the paint filled tube made a thick splatter across the wall, producing a new weight to the drawing. Once recorded and the video was slowed, it was amazing to see the paint particles move through the air onto surfaces where they came into contact with to create interesting markings.
Unfortunately, I didn’t like the final results of the saw. I felt it could be developed to a further level where it could have extra properties such as: restrictions, drawing outcomes and the size of the saw, could it have been made bigger or heavier? However, I do love the idea of replacing a blade with brushes which still has the traditional painting influences.
I also wish that I developed my jackhammer by adding a section to my design where paint will dispense when the design was pushed down, a longer distance between the base to give clear significance of a jackhammer. I think being more rigorous with the designs would also help to improve either the machine performance or the quality of print making the machines make: Suspension (making the movement of each press smoother which could possibly mean smoother markings or rougher depending how the suspension was made) and Pressure (increasing pressure or reducing pressure to change/play around with opacity).
Filming time:
Following the video plan, we started to organise the set up and where we needed to stand during filming time and what space each of us needed. After practising what we wanted to shoot (without paint) we began with the filming. We were overwhelmed with how well the tools were working; trying to control our excitement as the paint covered wrecking ball collides with the wall and the beautiful patterns every other tool was making. We didn’t expect the results to be this way. The paints we selected had a beautiful juxtaposition to the white drawing surfaces, allowing the drawing to stand out vividly.
Documenting each scene was a great strategy because we were able to see how interesting the drawings are now that they’re starting to develop into one giant collaborative drawing.
Post filming, we took the footage to the Lensed Based media suite to begin with editing. Although we had attended the induction for this workshop, the group still found it daunting. We decided to not do the obvious and to just begin editing so we could find our own way around the software (Adobe Premier) we were using to edit and produce our film. Being mindful of the scene transition editor, we used a selection to introduce and end each scene in the footage was a great way to make the footage to appear finalised and professional. Each step we made in progress for the video, we had to deeply consider the placements of each clip and any photos we wanted to add as this would determine the quality of the video. As soon as the music was added to the footage, everything just started to fall into place and began to run smoothly. Day 2 of video editing, it was decided that added credits then a ‘slug’ (a blank space between 2 scenes) would be an effective way to make the audience think that the show has finished, but when the ‘bloopers’ start playing, the become excited to see more. Adding the bloopers was fun, but we also had to consider the placement and the correct music. Using the music from the music video that inspired the video was a practical way to significantly link artist work to our work in a less obvious way. It finally began to feel rewarding.
In conclusion, I’m exhilarated of the final outcome of the video as it broadcasts the drawing machines by perfectly exhibiting the drawings the machines create. Working with the use of highbrow and lowbrow was a fun way to make the project fit accordingly with potential audiences and sharing amusement. Presenting our film to the class was exciting. Everyone collected chairs together in front of the big screen with snacks ready for teams to share what they have made. When it was time to stage our video, the combination of tension and excitement was the current experiences for our team members. As soon as the video started to play, I could see how well the video engaged every individual in class. After the title displayed on the screen, the giggles started to begin. The relief. Receiving positive feedback by class members and lectures, it made the group so fulfilled and eager to create more videos! I will be taking skills that I acquired from this project into every future project.
Now here’s the link to ‘Creative Construction’, enjoy.
