op of the dog time post here! the clarification wanst about me not being a furry in fact i Am a furry so yes in that sense i am a dog too but there were people who genuienly thought i metamorphosed into a dog. just like. shed my human skin. dog. bshfhshdhs
Okay, fair?
And.... also somehow even funnier not gonna lie, thank you for blessing me with this I cannot regret my tags in the slightest now. My joy completely eclipses my social anxiety and overreactiveness to correction.
I stand by what I said though in principle, like, it's 2023 people, if you're gonna take it literal, assume furry not... what magic?? lol Magic defeats the whole point of over-critiquing the realism of an obvious metaphor! Like, I am all for that kind of captious empiricist pedantry (pulling out the fifty cent words to emphasize the point while making fun of myself) as an amusing thought exercise and lowkey trolling, but if you don't ground it in the hyper-factual you take all the fun out of it!! //snort//
I seen you guys work those bulkier gloves, and they seem exactly the right amount of keyboard incompatible to be an excellent Excuse To Not Be On The Computer in the same way a cat sitting on your lap is an excuse to not stand up and do that thing you don't really want to do while also being like bandaids on your fingers to remind you to not chew your nails.
Or at least, that's how my autistic ass immediately interpreted it, and I am hysterically confused just. Even. How? ;-)
#I also feel the metaphor on a spiritual level#which is a nice change; I don't always get other people's symbolism

[CN] MLQC’s Lucien - Entangling Date - English Translation
⚠️ SPOILER ALERT!! ⚠️
This post contains a detailed spoiler for a date that has not been released in EN yet! Feel free to notify me if there are any mistakes in the translation~
[Warning]: The content of this date is currently the most explicit compared to other SSR dates and may not be suitable for individuals under the age of 17 (CN server). It is recommended that those who do not meet this age requirement refrain from proceeding beyond this point.
// ⚠️ cw v*re-ish theme, (not heavy) blood, dubious consent, (magic) bondage, strangulation you'll never guess who. Please proceed with caution if you are sensitive to these topics
[Translation Notes]
In here, both MC and Lucien are Snake Demons (蛇妖). Demons (妖 yāo) – (which is sometimes left untranslated as “Yao” or alternatively translated as Monsters) are born when an animal, plant, or even an inanimate object absorbs spiritual energy over a long period and then gains spiritual awareness. They're not necessarily evil and are different from 魔 (Mó)/Evil Spirits. Still, their identity as such beings in this AU is important to remember because it means that both MC and Lucien are indifferent to human standards of morality.
Also in this date, there's a concept of cultivation or "修炼" (xiūliàn), which is a central concept in many Chinese fantasy genres, particularly in xianxia (仙侠) literature. It involves the practice of refining one's body, mind, and spirit to achieve higher levels of power, enlightenment, or immortality. As for other terms… I'll add T/N if there are more specific terms ahah-
And, let me explain a bit about the v*re theme... So, in some Chinese fantasy literature and cultivation stories, consuming others can be a method of cultivation. This practice might involve eating parts of these beings to gain their powers or absorb their essence, which is believed to advance their cultivation level. Although I’m also kind of convinced with what Chuverall said that ‘hunger’ here is a metaphor for another kind of desire or Lucien just genuinely confuses lust with hunger😂

youtube
I highly recommend watching the subbed video! I SWEAR I never heard him moan and pant so much on one date or heck, even in ASMR.
In case YouTube decides the date is too explicit, I also upload it on Twitter.
Also, to avoid the video getting deleted by youtube, I age-restricted it u.u

—[Part 1]—
I'm starving.
I swallow a pile of random 'food' expressionlessly, yet the intense emptiness and hunger are not satisfied in the slightest.
Immense power courses through my body, but it seems as if it is confined within an earthen jar, desperately trying to find an outlet, yet unable to find a way out.
I am well aware that, after four hundred years, I have once again encountered the opportunity to break through the Primordial Spirit stage.
Back then, I devoured the crocodile demon that had occupied the deep pool for hundreds of years, and only after digesting its entire Primordial Spirit did I successfully achieve the breakthrough.
[T/N: Primordial spirit or 元神 (yuán shén) is typically regarded as a higher, more refined level of consciousness or spiritual essence within a being. If cultivated enough, a primordial spirit can gain some consciousness and you can project yourself outward (important for the later part ;)]
[T/N: A breakthrough in cultivation refers to a significant leap in spiritual or martial progress, often leading to enhanced abilities or a higher level of power. It can happen several times.]
I feel the surge of power within me, and now I only crave for more.
Half a country's worth of humans is probably not enough. I still need to find a way to concentrate on cultivation, or perhaps consume another powerful being.
The harsh, blazing sunlight pierces through the cave entrance, casting a bright circle inside the cave.
I squint my eyes, lazily stretching my snake tail towards the patch of light.
The cautious tip of my snake tail ventures only an inch into the light but is instantly pierced by the scorching heat, causing it to shudder and quickly recoil back into the shadows.
MC: …So hot.
MC: I'll think about it later.
The chilly and damp stone cave dispels the scorching heat of the sun. I close my eyes and adjust my position for greater comfort, half my body submerged in the pool water.
There's no need to rush. After all, this scorching summer heat that could kill a demon is a mysterious demon-slaying technique in itself.
??: …
Suddenly, I sense something entering my cave.
It's just that the little creature's demonic power is too weak to stir even a sliver of my interest.
Perhaps because of my indifference, "it" seems to be growing bolder, venturing closer and even approaching my pool.
Slightly displeased, I open my eyes, only to meet with a pair of unfamiliar eyes—deep and brimming with smiles.
??: So hot. May I borrow a corner of your abode, My Lord?
The man's clothes hang loosely on his frame, barely concealing his broad, sculpted chest in a manner that seems almost deliberate as he leans casually against a nearby rock.
[T/N: The use of 欲盖弥彰 😂 This idiom literally means "trying to cover up but only making it more obvious." This implies that his attempt to ‘dress modestly’ is actually drawing more attention to his physique and carrying a subtle hint of deliberate seduction LOL]
Who is he?
Countless lesser monsters inhabit this mountain, and I never pay attention to those I can crush with half a finger.
But perhaps it's because I'm so bored, or perhaps because he carries the scent of my own kind, that I can't help but stare at him for a long while.
Lucien: My Lord, my name is Lucien.
Perhaps sensing the reason for my silence, he smiles gracefully and bows his head respectfully.
Lucien: I have been living in this mountain for many years, always relying on your protection, My Lord.
Lucien: I have expressed my gratitude to you many times before, My Lord, but it seems...
He pauses, his deep and bright eyes settling on me.
Lucien: ...those sentiments have not reached you.
Hearing him say this, I try to recall the countless memories I've accumulated over the years on this mountain, but I can't possibly remember the face of every insignificant lesser demon.
Seeing that I still show no reaction, the lesser demon's face seems to stiffen for a brief moment.
But a seductive curve quickly forms on his lips as he steps into the pool.
His body bends gracefully in the pool as water laps over his waist and abdomen, leaving him glistening wet.
He extends his arms into the pool, seemingly sensing and finding my tail as if guided by instinct.
His cold fingertips gently caress my scales, then encircle my tail and draw it towards his chest.
Water droplets run down his hair, trace the contours of his jaw and cascade onto his chest, mingling with the water dripping from the tip of my tail. Together, they seep through his semi-transparent garment, disappearing into the curve of his waist.
The uncomfortable warmth faintly spread over me, yet his audacious behavior piqued my curiosity. I wonder what intriguing actions this lesser demon can do.
But my somewhat arrogant and silent scrutiny doesn't seem to instill any fear in him.
He nuzzles my snake tail with his face, his lips gently pressing against my scales. After a moment of delicate caressing, he—
Suddenly bites down hard.
MC: …!
A tingling numbness quickly spreads from the tip of my tail. The venom is manageable, and it will take me less than a moment to neutralize it.
Yet, in that fleeting moment, a particularly hazy, green-colored figure forms in my mind.
MC: Are you that little green snake who bit my tail decades ago and then fainted?
—[Part 2]—
=Flashback start=
One autumn many years ago, the sunlight was still pleasant, and I was coiled idly in the mountain, feeling bored to death.
The autumn light stretches endlessly, the entire forest suffused with a lingering pleasant fragrance that makes me coil my body even more lazily.
My demonic aura permeates the entire mountain, utterly unrestrained. The lesser demons cower in corners, none foolish enough to dare disturb my tranquility.
Suddenly, a burst of very weak stings prickled the tip of my tail.
Puzzled, I lifted my tail, only to find a small green snake clinging to it.
It must have tried to feed on my energy but was overwhelmed by the backlash of my demonic power. The little snake has already fainted, but its tiny fangs are still tightly embedded in me.
It's natural for creatures to have a predatory instinct, but such a bold and greedy little thing might eventually develop even greater desires.
I observed it for a few more moments with interest before casually tossing it away.
=Flashback ends=
That blurry green shape in the daylight unexpectedly coalesces into the face of the person standing before me.
Turns out it really transformed into a demonic form.
My tail instantly coils around his entire body, tightening around his neck, and pulls him towards me.
MC: What did you say your name was?
Lucien: [his sexy gasps and breathless voice?#(#+-$(asdfghjkl] My Lord, my name is Lucien.
The venomous fangs in his mouth remain unretracted as if deliberately left exposed to provoke.
I grip his upper jaw, my fingertips sliding into his parted lips, caressing the delicate tips of his fangs.
As I gradually apply pressure, a pale yellow liquid slowly trickles down my fingertips.
A fascination stirs within my heart, and I drive the venom to flow uncontrollably until it overflows my palm.
The labored breath escaping his lips doesn't bring even a hint of fear to the face before me. Those eyes, like mysterious deep pools, draw me in completely.
MC: I remember you.
I lick the venom on my fingertips and then lightly lean toward his lips.
MC: Perhaps devouring you wouldn't be such a bad idea.
Lucien: [x2!] It would be my honor to become a part of you, My Lord.
Venom from his fangs spills to the corner of his lips, adding an inexplicable allure to his serene expression.
Lucien: [X3!!] However... to you, my lord, my demonic power is very weak. Even after appearing before you many times, I never caught your attention.
Lucien: [X4!!!] I'm afraid I can't help you achieve your breakthrough, my lord.
[T/N: Throughout this date, he used a "您" (nín) to address MC instead of the usual “你” (nǐ), which is the formal and polite way to say "you" in Chinese. It is used to show respect, deference, and admiration to the person being addressed.]
His face even bears a hint of hidden bitterness, as if silently reproaching me.
MC: How did you know I wanted to breakthrough?
Lucien: Because in my eyes... all I see is your figure.
Lucien: In the corners you never noticed, I've always been watching you.
Through those deep and unfathomable eyes, I see a reflection of a slender white figure, and her face is filled with disdain and inexplicable emotion.
Lucien: You've protected this place for many years, providing us with a safe haven. So, I also wish to contribute my humble efforts to your cause.
Lucien: I have found a group of remarkable humans who might be able to help you break through your cultivation, My Lord.
Half a country wouldn't even suffice.
I form this sentence in my mind but don't say it out loud.
Facing my silence, he gently smiles, as if he had expected it.
Lucien: What do you think, My Lord... about the 361 demon-slaying cultivators of the Qingping Sect, including the Sect Leader—what should be done with them?
His hushed whispers are carried on a breathy exhale and reach my lips. Sinking into the depths of his dark eyes, I curl my lips into a smile.
MC: Is there more to this than meets the eye?
Lucien: In the past two years, many demon hunters from this sect have repeatedly disturbed the peace in the mountain, and many lesser demons have fallen at their hands.
Lucien: My Lord, you have cast spells in this mountain, clearly not wishing to be disturbed. I merely volunteered to ease your worries.
MC: But those bugs always manage to get in, do you know why?
Lucien: A sophisticated formation like yours, My Lord, is naturally beyond the comprehension of a lowly demon like myself.
Lucien: The Qingping Sect is also a great sect with a hundred years of history; [chuckles] Perhaps there are some mysterious and powerful humans there.
Lucien smiles modestly and looks at me obediently.
I close my eyes, pondering his words over and over.
The Qingping Sect people have been coming to the mountain to hunt demons in summer and winter for the past few years. They must have observed my movements.
When I'm dormant, I'm usually too lazy to bother with such trivial matters. But if it's delivered to my doorstep, there's certainly no reason to refuse.
But with Lucien's cultivation level, it should be very difficult for him to handle such a large sect.
I think for a moment, then fling him away.
MC: So, in a place where the talented and powerful people hide, how are you going to offer them to me?
Lucien: I'm just using a few little tricks. You can inspect it now, My Lord.
His words barely leave his lips when the scene before me abruptly blurs. In a flash, I conceal my demonic form.
✂— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
An unfamiliar Taoist temple comes into view. We are already standing in the shadows of a corner.
I glance around, slightly raise my fingertips, and strangle Lucien's neck.
MC: Lucien, I don't like being controlled by anything else.
[T/N: MC actually called him 小许 (Xiao Xu) here which can be translated into ‘Little Lu' but that sounds odd in EN-]
Lucien: [gasping for breath and hoarsely says-] Perhaps… I was just too eager, hoping I could be of some help to you.
Lucien: [still with his hoarse voice-] I really long to see you happy.
His eyes curve into a gentle arc, showing a certain beauty that is both pleasing to the eye and delightful to the heart.
I let out a cold snort, dismissing him, and step out of the shadows, releasing my hold on his neck.
The scorching sun beats down mercilessly, making me irritable. Just as I'm about to turn around and warn that little creature to make it quick, I sense an unusually strange and mysterious Qi in the air.
In the shadows, Lucien stands still, his deep, dark eyes hiding a gleam.
Interesting.
A spark of interest ignites within me, and I swagger down the road.
Several demon hunters who look quite delicious pass by me. They appear numb, like puppets, and show no sign of panic in my presence.
??: Ah, it's Mr. Lucien!
Suddenly, a young Daoist Priest seems to regain his senses and runs towards me.
Lucien, who is already standing beside me, responds gently.
Lucien: Greetings, Daoist Priest.
Lucien's eyes shimmer with an emerald green light. As his voice trails off, several nearby demon hunters eagerly gather around, engaging him in conversation.
MC: "Do they know you?"
I glance at Lucien and use a spell to transmit the words directly into his mind.
But he merely smiles faintly, and under the gaze of those empty eyes, he leans down and whispers in my ear.
Lucien: [whispers] Some things are easier to erode from within.
Lucien: After all... I'm just a little green snake.

—[Part 3]—
Abundant power surges within me. After absorbing and dissolving the last remnants of the primordial spirit, I open my eyes, feeling refreshed and invigorated.
While there's still a long way to go before my primordial spirit breaks through, I won't force it.
The blazing sun overhead reminds me of the day I parted ways with Lucien, leaving me to wonder how many days and nights have slipped by since.
The vastness of time has long since lost its meaning for me.
=Flashback start=
MC: Some of these are for you.
Lucien: …?
Upon hearing my words, he seemed to freeze for a moment, his eyes darkening slightly.
Lucien: If I wanted to keep it all for myself, I wouldn't have invited you, My Lord. All of this is my offering…
MC: You're so long-winded.
MC: Rewards are given for merit; take it if it's given to you. Those are my rules.
I was too lazy to listen to his long-winded speech, so I stood on the steps and looked down at him.
MC: Lucien, I have only one question for you right now.
MC: Aren't you hungry?
Lucien: ….
He stood in my shadow, deeply gazing up at me.
After a long pause, he curled his lips into a bewitching smile, his gaze locked intently on me. He extended his tongue, lightly licking his lips.
Lucien: [the long licking noises!??+$+*+$+] Very hungry, my lord.
=Flashback end=
I stand up and stretch, ready to take a stroll in the mountain and see how Lucien's cultivation is progressing.
He's very clever. In just a few decades, he's not only cultivated into a demon form but also amassed considerable power and even dealt with the entire Qingping Sect.
Perhaps in a few more decades, he could be the final piece I need for my breakthrough.
Just as I am about to leave the cave, I sense an extremely familiar pheromone nearby.
Its owner is cleverly masking their scent within my demonic aura, but it seems they're struggling to maintain the disguise, and faint traces are still leaking through.
I raise my head to gaze at the colossal Buddha statue before me, and then with a swift movement, I stand atop the entwining vines that encircle it. A quick glance reveals a familiar figure—
sexy bgm playing
Lucien: ...!
His dark green outer robe has slipped down to his arms, revealing a large expanse of his back. The slanting rays of the sun illuminate the faint snake scales on his skin.
Gold dust spills from the cracks in the Buddha statue, scattering around him. One of his hands, unable to contain the surging power, has fully transformed into its demonic form.
His broad and supple snake tail is fully exposed, writhing restlessly against the stone statue, creating a subtle rustling sound as it rubs against the surface.
Fine beads of sweat emerge on his forehead, gradually dampening his hair, which clings stickily to his flushed skin and trails downwards.
Lucien seems surprised by my arrival, turning around with a guarded look, his fingers reaching for his shoulder as if wanting to cover up more.
Lucien: [panting as if he's in a freaking heat] My Lord, how could you...?
MC: Lucien, you're really good at finding places, aren't you?
I examine the area around the Buddha's Hand. Lush bushes cover most of the cave entrance, providing him with ample shelter along with my demonic aura.
A small white snake then slithered into the opening of his clothing, making its way up to his face.
[T/N: Remember what I mentioned about how powerful cultivators can project themselves outward—so this white snake is indeed MC but she has projected her soul outward]
Lucien: [x2] I'm fortunate to have your protection.
He pants lightly, his eyes never leaving even for a moment, fixed firmly on my figure.
Lucien: I understand that you needed to focus on your cultivation and didn't want to be disturbed.
Lucien: [while slightly panting] But I haven't experienced many breakthroughs before. I need to focus all my energy on refining my spirit. Last time, I almost got eaten by other lesser demons…
Lucien: [with more panting and huskier voice] Being by your side, My Lord, I feel more at ease and can also help guard against potential dangers for you.
His husky voice sends tingling sensations through me, making me inexplicably feel a bit hungry.
Lucien: [man literally panting with each sentence?!$+($+$asdjfjdkd] I just didn't expect you to be so powerful, absorbing so many spirits in such a short time…
He furrows his brow in what seems like frustration, which looks a bit cute.
MC: Those are still far from enough, but your breakthrough speed is also faster than I thought.
Lucien: [still with the sus panting as if in heat] It's all… thanks to you, My Lord.
He forces a weak smile, seemingly still struggling to suppress the surging power within him.
I know that feeling, the unbearable heat from the inside out, the frantic surge of Qi sweeping through the body again and again, as the soul drifts between fullness and emptiness.
I've always been on my own, so it's quite interesting to witness someone else going through this for the first time.
Lucien's fingertips continue to tighten, revealing an attractive white color.
He seems to be waiting there, waiting for me to disappear. But I don't.
I wiggle my fingers, and the little white snake glides along his burning skin. Every inch closer elicits a heavier, instinctive gasp from the depths of his throat.
The increasingly prominent snake scales seem to be burning, and his long tail coils around the Buddha's hand over and over while continuously trembling.
MC: Is it hard to bear?
He knows she's laughing.
Through his hazy gaze, he sees the girl perched on a nearby branch, like a wisp of delicate white gauze, overlooking him completely.
He can feel the cold little snake mischievously exploring all over his body as if her fingertips were stroking him.
This makes him feel even more messed up.
The power surges within him, more violently than he anticipated, and it's taking longer than expected.
He overestimated her greed, and at the same time, underestimated his own.
A tremendous sense of emptiness drowns him in an instant, magnified infinitely under her wicked gaze.
At that moment, it's as if he forgets everything.
He instinctively follows that surge of intense force, returning to a darker place, where he finds some form of primitiveness and liberation.
A surge of heat courses through him from his chest to his lower body, carrying him from the heights of the clouds to the mist below.
He is obviously filled with a momentary sense of satisfaction, yet a greater emptiness is born. Amidst the lingering white mist, her eyes always remain clear.
Bright, vile, and charming.
As if shining into his greedy soul, allowing him to see the reflection of his face so clearly.
Lucien: [breathing heavily after some kind of ‘release’...but obviously haven't ‘satisfied’ yet-] ….
Suddenly, I see Lucien smile.
He leans against the Buddha's palm, his entire body sprawled out and clothes in a mess. It's as if he's completely submerged in water.
The tense snake's tail trembles as it lifts, gently and intimately coiling around my wrist.
People say snake demons are masters of seduction, but perhaps they are not even one ten-thousandth as good as the person before me.
Lucien: [panting, whispers hoarsely] Teach me... My Lord.
MC: Aren't you afraid that I'll really eat you?
I laugh and tease him. The moment my toes touch the Buddha's hand, a scorching hot snake's tail wraps tightly around my waist, coiling down to one of my ankles.
With a gentle tug, he pulls me into an even hotter embrace.
Lucien: [moans and pants as he whispers hoarsely] Then just eat me.
Lucien: [x2] From the very beginning, I didn't mind becoming one with you, My Lord.
His breath is hot, and so is his gaze. This kind of temperature, which usually makes me uncomfortable, fills me with some kind of pleasure now.
I gently caress his chest, feeling the surge of Qi within him, and can't help but smile even wider.
MC: If you want to be eaten by me... you're still too weak.
Infusing my power into my palm, I gather his power into one place.
At this moment, I realize that I might have left Lucien with too much force. It's no wonder he hasn't fully absorbed such a massive force. It's also fortunate that he has exceptional abilities.
If he were an ordinary demon, his meridians would have ruptured long ago.
[T/N: Meridians (经脉) are the channels through which Qi/vital energy flows in the body, if it ruptures it can lead to death]
MC: Luckily, you've been able to hold on until now.
MC: But... you still need to work harder.
I push my palm forward, dismantling that power and sending it into his primordial spirit.
I feel myself being hugged tightly, his whole body trembling uncontrollably. His snake fangs bite hard into my shoulder and release his venom with a force that feels like a torrent.
The venom he secreted is like sweet honey, devoid of any threat.
When he raises his head again, I see that his deep eyes have become even brighter, as if they have swallowed a thousand surging tides.
MC: How do you feel?
Lucien: [x3] My lord... your body is so cold and feels so good.
His tail coils tighter around me, and his scorching breath falls on my neck.
He seems to have coiled his entire body around me, enveloping me in his center.
Lucien: [x4] You... are very beautiful.
His wet tongue slides again and again across my throat and neck. I feel like his whole body is exuding a delicious scent.
I'm so hungry.
I can't resist the urge to bite his lips. His strong essence is absorbed into my body through our intertwined lips and tongues.
Lucien doesn't resist at all and just hugs me tightly as if devoutly offering his entire being to me.
In an instant, I push him away, meeting his gaze, which seems to hold an air of expectation.
Lucien: [gasping weakly] Are you not going to eat me anymore?
He looks a bit tired, but his lips still rest against mine, like the instinctive nuzzling of an animal.
I don't respond to him, only glancing at him for a moment before covering his captivating eyes with my hand.
MC: Go to sleep.
Just a little longer. If I wait a bit more, he'll be even more delicious, and it'll help me break through even further.
✂— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
[T/N: Fun fact: In real life, snakes intertwine their tails and bite each other when they mate. Why do I mention this? Well you'll see :)]

—[Part 4]—
Over a month later, on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, the evening breeze brings a chill. I stretch and head down the mountain, holding up my skirt as I walk.
I quite enjoy human festivals. Every year, during these times, the lively and interesting rituals make this frail race seem a bit more endearing.
Bathed in the soft glow, a familiar figure dressed in green appears in my sight.
Lucien: My Lord, it seems quite lively down there. Is that the human "temple fair" they speak of?
MC: You've been in human form for decades, and you know quite a few demon hunters from the Qingping Sect. Haven't you ever been to a temple fair?
Lucien: I'm just a lowly demon, so I wouldn't dare.
Lucien: But if I go with you, I'm sure I'll be able to experience some of the fun.
MC: [smiles softly] Are you a fool?
With a grand sweep of my hand, I lead him into the warm and dazzling sea of lights.
I turn to face him, a smile playing on my lips as I tilt my chin up in a challenge.
MC: Since you're already a demon, you can afford to be even more bolder sometimes.
His pupils dilate sharply. The gently swaying lanterns cast a soft, flickering light as Lucien gazes deeply into my eyes. Then, in a surprising turn, he reaches out and takes my hand in his.
Lucien: I will certainly heed your teachings, My Lord.
We make our way through the bustling crowd. Though Lucien seems a little curious about everything around him, he still walks steadily by my side.
Suddenly, he stops in his tracks.
I turn back to see him carefully wiping a jade bracelet on one of the stalls.
The bracelet is a vibrant green throughout, its color rich and translucent, with a subtle, warm glow. At a glance, it's clearly a piece of exquisite jade.
I don't know why, but that captivating shade of green reminds me of his original appearance.
He quickly pays for it, and amidst the vibrant spectacle of festive lights, gently places the bracelet on my wrist.
MC: What are you doing?
Lucien: I saw that other humans seem to do this. Do you like it?
In that fleeting moment, he seems to be imbued with the essence of the human world. His eyes curve into gentle crescents as he smiles tenderly.
In the vast and endless expanse of time, I can no longer remember if the last person who smiled at me like this was also so soul-stirring.
Perhaps, there has never been such a person before.
MC: Though I can't say whether I like it or not...
MC: But you seem to have become even more delicious.
Lucien seems to smile even more happily. For some reason, I think I see the same emotion of mine reflected in his eyes.
But that's probably just my imagination. Despite his greed, he's ultimately just a weak lesser demon.
As we stroll along, the distant voice of a storyteller drifts towards us.
Storyteller: “Continuing from where we left off, the battle between the thousand-year-old white snake demon of Baihua Mountain and the crocodile demon has been at a standstill for a full hundred days…”
Groups of young boys and girls walk together, their faces flushed with shy smiles. An elderly woman calls out, advertising her steaming hot meat buns. Red firecrackers explode, welcoming a bride from some unknown family.
The festive atmosphere surrounds us. Perhaps influenced by the surroundings, I hear Lucien's curious voice.
Lucien: My Lord, are you also interested in human love?
MC: That's the most impermanent thing in this world.
I take a bite of the candied hawthorn he's holding and gaze at the ordinary faces around us.
MC: It might be interesting, but as demons, we live for far too long. So long that...
MC: Such fragile things can't nourish our parched and greedy souls.
MC: But if you're interested, you could always find a human and experience it a little.
I smile and playfully bop his nose.
MC: [teasingly] But be careful, don't let any bad woman trick you, Lucien.
Lucien: You worry too much. I have no interest in those.
Lucien: Because I've already encountered and tasted something far more delectable.
His dark inky eyes hold my reflection captive, as if drawing me into their hidden depths.
Lucien: Lord MC has taught me everything I wanted to know…
Lucien: As one of the same kind.
Later, Lucien takes the initiative to show me around several places. After we've explored the town extensively, fireworks illuminate the deep night sky.
Lucien: Do you know where we can enjoy the most beautiful fireworks?
MC: You've asked the right demon.
With a flick of my finger, I whisk him away to an ancient pagoda that's been sealed for many years.
The airtight walls keep the interior pitch black. The air is filled with the scent of sandalwood, and the faint sound of fireworks echoes like distant bells.
Lucien: It seems... we can't see any fireworks here.
MC: Just wait.
I turn my palm, and in the blink of an eye, the surrounding stone walls suddenly become transparent, as if they were never there.
I pull Lucien to sit at the center of the circular platform. Suddenly, a profusion of vibrant fireworks bursts forth all around us, their carefree beauty so close as if within reach.
The vibrant colors of the fireworks paint Lucien's figure, layer upon layer. For the first time, someone is here with me to enjoy the fireworks, and my heart can't help but fill with a touch of joy.
MC: Humans are so rigid. They think a tranquil place can't also be lively. What a waste of a good spot.
MC: Might as well let these Buddhas enjoy the show too.
Lucien: [softly] Indeed… incredibly beautiful.
As he speaks, it's hard to tell if his eyes are fixed on me or the fireworks behind me.
But beautiful scenery is always fleeting. Soon, the fireworks display comes to an end.
And as I try to stand up, I suddenly realize that I can't move.
Just as I'm about to summon my power, a piercing pain shoots through my entire body. It feels as though some invisible ropes in the air are binding me in place.
While I'm still puzzled, I hear Lucien's surprised voice—
Lucien: ...I didn't expect it to succeed on the first try.
I lift my head, and our gazes collide. His eyes are full of smiles.
His index and middle fingers pressed together, their tips shimmering with a faint light as he swiftly forms an intricate seal in the air.
The instant I see the strikingly familiar gesture, my eyes widen in shock.
MC: ...Why do you know a sealing spell used only by demon hunters?!
Lucien: Humans are rigid, thinking a tranquil place can't be lively. And you demons are just as rigid. Who says...
Lucien: ...a demon can't learn the arts of eliminating demons?
His lips form a triumphant and seductive curve as his cold fingertips caress my cheek.
Lucien: Don't worry, I know my own capabilities.
Lucien: The formation I've set up across the entire town, combined with the second layer of formation at the heart of it, will only restrain you for a short while.
Lucien: [whispers] However, this short time will be enough.
His voice softly weaves into my ears as he holds me tightly in his embrace.
MC: Those places you took me to earlier... were they all part of setting up this formation?
Lucien: That was merely just a test.
Lucien: [chuckles] It was you who said, I could be a bit bolder.
His delicate breath steadily brushes against my neck, making me feel lightheaded that maintaining my human form takes almost all of my strength.
MC: This… this is a Qingping Sect ancient text... You couldn't possibly have had the chance to…
A shockingly unbelievable thought suddenly pops into my mind. I clutch his lapel tightly, my whole body trembling.
MC: So it was you... You found the weakness in the mountain formation and led the Qingping Sect to hunt the demons.
Lucien: Yes, it was me.
All pretense vanishes from his eyes, revealing utterly raw and unbridled greed and desire.
Lucien: Those humans are so easily deceived. As long as I help them kill a few demons, they think I'm a talent worth cultivating.
Lucien: So I had the chance to plant the poison. In just over a decade, they would be completely under my control.
Lucien: And My Lord, you are my best reward.
Lucien: I finally found the opportunity to gain your trust. And with your help, I also obtained the ancient text.
[T/N: I think, her ‘help’ refers to her ‘eating’ the most Sect member which was his offering. Now that the whole sect was gone, he was able to gain access to the Sect's sacred ancient text, which allowed him to learn how to create this formation to trap her-]
His words are incredibly gentle, yet devoid of any warmth. He meticulously plans every step, taking small risks for greater gains. In the end, he uses the entire town as a formation, waiting for me to walk into the trap myself.
MC: Have you been wanting to eat me all along?
Lucien: [whispers hoarsely] I've never lied to you.
He smiles as he presses his cold lips against my brow and eyes, tenderly caressing my lips.
Lucien: [his whispers become increasingly obsessive-] I told you, from the moment you appeared in my life, in my eyes... all I see is your figure.
Lucien: [x2!] A snake wanting to eat another snake… that's normal, isn't it…?
Lucien: [x3!!] I've always, always... wanted to eat you.
*sexy bgm playing-*
Along with his voice, a slippery tail coils around the tip of my own.
As if fearing I might escape, it coils around me tightly from the start. Our scales rustle as they rub against each other, and I feel inexplicable suffocation.
Lucien lowers his gaze to look at me, his eyes filled with undisguised desire. He bares his fangs, teasingly grazing my skin before swiftly sinking them in with a sharp bite.
After a slight sting, a cold liquid is injected into the bite mark. My skin grows hotter and hotter, making the coldness even more alarming.
He probably knows that this bit of venom can't harm me, so he indulges in "tasting" me to his heart's content.
His sharp fangs expertly latch onto the easy-to-bite spots, biting down hard as if he really intends to devour me.
He leans toward me, pressing closer and closer. Our tails are already entwined inseparably; the tips of our hair and the sashes of our clothes are in complete disarray.
I can't summon any power to resist the venom's encroachment. I can only feel the burning heat spreading through my limbs and bones, my whole body trembling uncontrollably.
Lucien: [moaning and panting] I know I can't completely devour you yet, but it doesn't matter…
Lucien: [x2!] I will leave my mark inside your body, on every inch of your skin.
Lucien: [x3!!] Let our breaths entwine... until yours carries the essence of mine.
He bites my lip, his mouth devouring every bit of my moan and wet sounds. His tongue, laced with venom, forcefully swirls over mine, compelling me to swallow every drop.
Lucien: [hisses and groans] Until... the day I eat you.
My head is swimming, all I can feel is his snake tail coiling tighter around me, a tingling heat flowing through my body as something is being poured inside me again and again.
The feeling is too arousing, making me instinctively tighten my body, but also wrapping him even tighter.
The air is heavy with erotic scents, and the sound of our entwined scales rubbing against each other creates an ambiguous symphony of slick and moist noises, intensifying my hunger step by step.
MC: [laughs] The one who should be eaten... is you, isn't it?
MC: Given time, I will cleanse your weak poison completely.
MC: Great, you already look delicious.
Unfamiliar yet pleasurable waves surge rapidly within me, hitting me again and again, causing me to instinctively bite him back.
The cloyingly sweet blood, mixed with venom and clear bodily fluids, fills our mouths, necks, and entire bodies.
Lucien: [groans and breathlessly says] …Then let's see how this plays out.
Scalding sweat trickles down his jaw, blending into my clothes that are already soaked with sweat.
Lucien pushes deeper into me as if even the deepest part of my soul is being imbued with his essence.
Lucien: [moans and gasps] No matter the outcome… we will… become one.
———————Fin——-—————
[Lux's afterwords]
Not much analysis here, this date is pretty much just ‘fast food’ LOL. So, while his obsession towards MC definitely gets amped up in this AU, I do like how it still retains his core like his greediness, curiosity, and obsessiveness/stubbornness though 👀 and the details of them mirroring each other's desire are always so!!!
Although the ending is fairly predictable given his character, this date introduces a fresh element with its unique dynamic where the power balance shifts in favor of MC 😂 It conveys a similar dynamic of the ‘God x mortal’ trope, where the mortals yearn for the love of their God. And despite all the things he did, I really can't help but think that he really is just a hardworking yet stubborn/obsessive little snake HAHA.
His final line! I think… it's the biggest proof that he never really lied to her. His final line on this date reveals that his ultimate goal is to become one with her, whether through her eating him or vice versa, the method or outcome doesn't matter to him. Since he is much weaker than her, it's easier for him to be consumed (which is why he keeps asking her to eat him). However, in case she doesn’t want to eat him, he also has this backup plan. Whether he is to be consumed or to consume her, both scenarios require decades of deceiving humans to first gain her attention. While his methods may not be entirely honest, it is undeniable that he has worked very hard for her and it's a bit endearing🤧 or maybe it's time for me to admit that atp i'll forgive any shits he pulled *kicked*

FREEEEEEEEE AUTHENTICITY !!!
We all are granted a skill, talent, even free reigns to explore whatever we want mentally, physically also spiritually. But yet, sooo lil of society taps into their own capabilities to reach their great gifts. Its always been a mystery and unusual to me how one can go through life not using something thats their own gifts! Once i dug deep enough, processed the issues, then dissected the information i came to a conclusion. From always reading from various text and social media platforms, to see how others think and what knowledge the mass is pushing out. I began to learn more and see where all this is coming from. No one likes to use their own brains, minds, souls, or freewill! And the main thing i see is no one has AUTHENTICITY! which is lacked on a deep level, so much so it's foreign to so many individuals. Many fasify their true intellect, while trying to shun others who use their great gifts. Its one thing to admire anothers gifts, skills by supporting and respectfully sharing their content also using it as inspiration. But another thing when you have to take, use, redue something a individual did authentic from the soul, and gain clout or recognition for it. Many people out here in the world or even on this platform are here to gain fans, likes, attention and notoriety. The biggest thing should be to influence others, help others who are in a place in their lifes that are seeking help , from numerous things as in mental, spiritual, physical health and just life. The more i see that most people on here or different platforms are based on the same motives. I acually thought this was a platform for a outlet, to resite yours poems, feelings, and share true knowledge also gain new knowledge. Over the time ive been here, reading post, scanning the scenery i see its all about NON originality. Basically just people reposting, sharing others stories just for your page to get views, fans and seen. Smh .... " but not really understanding what they wrote or spilled out, if it cant help you why read exactly smh. Where is the real" no one can go within and pull out a rabbit in the hat! If you dont understand that, its just a metaphor for using your own gifts and secret talents.
We all have 2 ears, to hear, understand the world around us, 2 eyes to look, take in visuals of are surroundings and 1 mouth and 2 hands to speak and write when its time correct a situation thats been going on to long in this realm. Many dont have the tenacity nor courage to speak from the soul or the deep areas in their chakras. Going deep on matters from the root chakra, having your own desires and will from sacral chakra, while having your own identity and authenticity G center. Which i understand we all have different gate ways open, close and defined, undefined, but still have a brain to understand that you are stealing and using someone else's knowledge and time to create something while u just copy and paste. When you see someone who has a great post, or some information you show them appreciation for showcasing their gifts, not using it and makin your fans think you are original. Its some people out there that really take their times with their craft and really want to help others with knowledge also just express their selves. I see the most people with the most followers or fans not really creative just repost pros and people pleasers. Its ashame how true talent and natural gifts are out the door, its all about being liked, having fans, or who can i steal from. Example Moon devi made numerous post that were original, with plenty of knowledgeable information but many seem to show their appreciation by stealing from her content and using word from word post, which is not cool! You couldn't even change it up tho lol. You lack that much talent. You have to realize everyone out here are not here to be game changers or to help others, many are here to steal, deplete and sabotage others because they lack their own authenticity. This is her page, if you on some real shit, check her out, if you on something else you can slide to the left if you not supporting.
Im a advocate for people who likes to be their true authentic self with no chaser. Also a voice for those who dont know how to express it. Being a realist makes you see things in a different lens. We also have authentic knowledgeable content here.
Very big on quality vs quantity! Let your true nature be recognized not distorted or jeopardized for laziness. This is not no put down towards everyone, but this is a real publicized statement that will touch and wake up those souls who are being gift undertakers! Trick or treating should be the only time a person should be going into someone elses bag! Once again its a METAPHOR! everyone has their own secret talents and skills, let them use them, you have your own, now learn it, pefect it and show it.

There's always this weird disconnect with people talking about art/artistic value where it's like...to take a different angle I feel like people can recognize that McDonald's is not 'good' food, either in terms of quality or overall benefit for your health, and that a diet primarily composed of McDonald's is going to be bad on multiple levels. It is also very much not food made for the love of making food, it is just the cheapest food for the biggest profit margin possible. We all know this, and can also comprehend that getting some fast food now and again is basically whatever, nobody cares and sometimes it's what you're craving. You're fine to go consume the occasional garbage, we all do, but yeah if you want my opinion on whether it's OK for that to be your entire diet - no dude! You have to eat real food! I don't care if people watch Marvel movies but they have to also consume real art or they are going to be spiritually malnourished!
It's not the best metaphor probably it just feels like there are other places where we absolutely understand that there is a distinction between individual taste and overall quality and value, and while that relationship is complicated we still have to acknowledge and talk about these things and not just refuse to question them.
i just want to live in a world where ppls attitude about art isnt so cavalier that caring about quality is seen as snobbish. people should give a shit. im begging them to at least pretend like they care if things are good. literally what other possible measure for quality do i have except outside opinion? and if i can't trust that or the audience is insulting enough to insist quality is immaterial to their preferences, then why participate in something where merit can never be recognized?

LIFTING THE SPOILER WARNING ON THIS POST FOR LAUNCH DAY
Here's my initial analysis and thoughts on Asuka's ending (character episode) in Tekken 8
caught yearning in 1080p
handsome
thinking abt getting students now that the Zaibatsu ate shit (btw you don't find out the Zaibatsu is pretty much on track to being done with no leader again, which is why they continue the tournament presumably after the final battle unless you look through the character episodes, not the main story, for some fucking reason)
Asuka finally smiled at her accepting her and the feeling is mutual, this ending had great role reversal in the sense instead of previously only getting clear insight into Lili's feelings and thoughts now we're openly getting them from Asuka in response- she also felt tempted to give in to her old reaction first think later ways but here she's finally thinking before deciding it doesn't matter why, she enjoys fighting Lili and she finally seems to recognize what Lili's schemes are about on a level (wanting Asuka's attention and getting back at her for having lost), this is the closest so far we've ever gotten to a "I like you too"
this is on top of the teasing and compliment she gave Lili's ability in the same scene, and also correcting Lili on the Kazama Motto Asuka learned, which only Asuka could have told her at some point suggesting further closeness
"Softness overcomes hardness" you two are (HOPEFULLY) starting to change your relationship to be softer (also the hilarious hypocrisy of Asuka BARELY being a person living by any softness in practice)
I love that she even refers to Lili as "That noble (rich) girl", an ojou-sama, which is far better than calling her by nothing or using a rude form of You (anta) as in the past (and generally she's given up calling Lili by rude terms be it in the story mode or otherwise including Shaheen's ending, which is honestly more about AsuLili than him lol, it's also incredible seeing Asuka glad Lili's life was protected and joking about Lili being a handful with someone else)
And despite provoking Asuka in a very shitty way reminiscent of Feng, the premise of this ending is Asuka beating Lili at the tournament so Lili will honor her word of putting Asuka's dojo back the way it was before she bought it- which Lili does after losing rather than refuse out of spite, even if she then uses taking it in a fight to provoke Asuka again, it's nice that she IS willing to listen to Asuka when it comes to promises
honestly if you cut the entire scene into only my screenshots here it still looks so fucking gay
Video source ( @ 1:03 )
This is the de-facto best Asuka ending yet, at last she's happy, hopeful, not confused, and at some form of peace and connection in her life
ALSO ASUKA DIDN'T CALL LILI A DINGBAT SHE CALLED HER AHOU (Idiot/Moron) LIKE ALWAYS AND IT WAS SOFT THIS TIME 😭😭😭😭
Plus Asuka might finally get the dojo back up and become the next leader with Jin's image being fixed and thus how people would see Asuka since they're related, as well as the current war being over- though Reina's new devil bullshit will probably ruin this in the future
EDIT: I FORGOT TO MENTION
PAIR OF BIRDS; BIRD MOTIF FOR KAZAMAS RETURNS
I doubt these are Jun's birds specifically it's more likely just symbolic of Asuka and Lili if it means anything at all. Also doesn't have to specify meaning lovebirds, in general their characters will always be put together. But it is funny how Jun's birds always appear to show her connection to someone she loves, so there could be a parallel here that Asuka's bird imagery would represent the same sense of connection. If it is a visual metaphor for lovebirds though by the time we get Tekken 9 then, the cinema of it all.
ALSO Harada has said Jun attracts animals because of her spiritual mastery over martial arts. She's at a level of power where animals don't run because of sensing her aura; she can suppress her fighting spirit. With how at peace AND in control of herself Asuka is in this ending, maybe the birds imply she can move in a similar direction from here on. And it makes sense too because Asuka has returned to a state of equilibrium now that she doesn't have the stress of the world being in chaos affecting her. As a person who prefers being in control, she's back to feeling some control over her life.
----
THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE:
1. It's great that the tone of their relationship is now friendlier, but like in story mode and other places they appear as a pair, we're never shown anything on how they started transitioning from fighting all the time to agreeing to listen and partner up in general, nevermind during a global war they're supposed to have their own personal stakes in beyond not wanting to die (those personal stakes ended up being entirely irrelevant anyway which is it's own problem)
There's a problem present where you're shown the end result of an emotional shift with none of the journey or even a simple scene explaining how they got there, much like the main story and other characters in general many plot points and character changes are resolved off screen showing only the results with no explanation the majority of the time. In the main story this gets even more egregious because even how a character knows specific information usually doesn't get explained at all either unless it relates to Jin understanding the devil gene. This writing makes a lot of things simply happen like it's checking off a list.
In essence, WHERE is a scene connecting Asuka who did nothing but fight Lili and get pissed with her to the Asuka who's tolerant of her, is more catty and accepting than outright angry, is now willing to joke and play around with her, who taught Lili the Kazama Motto she learned (though I guess this one you can say Lili found it while looking up Asuka's family, something we ALSO don't get Asuka's thoughts on beyond surprise) and so on
2. The fact this scene ends with provoking another fight, as much as I like that it's friendly now, isn't the best direction. This fits again into problem 1; there's no on screen room to let these characters breathe and illustrate what made them change now to the viewer. There's no fresh angle given about their relationship outside fighting or even a new approach on their relationship within it. There's no pause in the formula which many people are tired of (and people are already back to calling Asuka a useless piece of shit who's a complete fucking joke, and I can't really blame them entirely because on a surface level all they see is the exact same situation as it's been for twenty years of cutscenes).
Also the logic of having this scene exist is confusing in itself. Nothing in the game story clarified if Asuka sat the tournament out or did participate but was eliminated and decided to follow Lili's progress in Rome as a spectator. A scene explaining either of those would give better weight and context to this one.
3. Zero mention of Asuka's father or his current condition
4. Having Lili imitate what Feng Wei did to dojos like Asuka's is the cruelest way she's ever provoked her. Whereas before it was often ridiculous, silly, and teasing, involving an event that led Asuka to spiral adds something uncharacteristically spiteful toward her from Lili's end. Insofar as what Lili has previously used to get her attention anyway. Keeping Asuka's trauma out of it has always seemed to be a line Lili was willing to respect. And it's off too because this is happening when they're supposed to be becoming friends/are friends now. It's too personal to be brushed off the way it is.
The only way I can rationalize it is if Asuka has let go of her anger towards what Feng did in part (but she still has a special intro where she wants to attack him on sight saying they finally meet so, I don't fuckin know, that may as well have been included as an easter egg if they're gonna do nothing with it) or she never really gave enough of a shit about the entire thing in the first place. You can make a loose argument using prior games to show Asuka never really cared about the revenge aspect as much- but her behavior sorta contradicts this at the same time. So really who fucking knows. Based on how she reacts here I guess it's not a big deal at this point cuz she doesn't get mad and jumps into messing around with Lili like a friend anyway.
Maybe this could be explained too by whatever made them act friendly now in the first place, but again we never saw that. So instead it comes out worse than if we knew.
5. WHY THE FUCK DID THEY MENTION THE ENTIRE MAIN KAZAMA FAMILY WAS ELIMINATED BY OGRE IN THE STORY MODE THEN HAVE THE NEWS NOT IMPACT ASUKA AT ALL
We also never see them discuss what Lili knows about the family in any depth between themselves
Viva le sex gay I guess but now I have more questions than answers and that's a problem when the game acts like I've been given answers it never provided. I got something I wanted but with nothing to show for it.
EDIT 1/27/2024 : However that won't discount that I do love what I received and the potential it represents; I adore this shit.
#tekken#hey gorilla. just say you care already. like actually say it not imply it.#i like this ending more than i dislike it but the parts i dislike still suck lol#asuka kazama#asulili

do you think it’s possible to be a christian and not believe in a literal resurrection? I’m so drawn to Jesus as a spiritual guide, but I struggle to believe that anyone can come back from the dead physically. metaphorically I do believe in spiritual/emotional resurrection and I feel I have been brought back to life many times.
I also wonder if Jesus was not actually dead after the Romans tortured him. What if he was in a coma? And eventually revived? Would the ancient world even have been able to make a distinction?
This probably won't feel like a satisfying answer, but in my honest opinion, it's both yes and no.
Partially yes, because it's possible to follow Jesus' example as a teacher and a moral role model (Christian does mean 'little Christ,' after all) without believing every word in the Bible. It's also possible to live your life in conversation with the Scripture and in Christian community without ever agreeing with 100% of its precepts. To be honest, there are Christian teachings I myself don't fully agree with, so you are certainly not alone.
On the other hand, it would not be possible to be a Christian with any level of Orthodoxy. By this I only mean that your beliefs would not line up with the core tenets of Christianity that have been generally accepted by the church and safeguarded in its creeds for these many generations. Christian faith finds its source in the teachings of Jesus, and the resurrection is among his most central teachings.
Faith is difficult and messy and the last thing I would ever tell you is that it leaves no room for doubt. I never stop asking questions in my own heart. I don't know if there has ever been a thoughtful member of any religion who did not find their faith in the questions just as much as in the answers.
I think the best answer I personally can give you is that it truly depends on what you want out of being a Christian. If what you want is to learn all you can from the faith and live it as best you are able, that is an amazing goal, and you should have no shame in calling yourself a Christian despite believing differently than most Christians. But if you want your Christian faith to essentially follow the teachings of Christ and the creed of his Church, then holding to the resurrection is necessary for that. It's a decision only you can make.

Asking the azula=shaman theory, because I find it very unlikely. They don't have similar features at all.
I'll agree with you there. Other than surface level similarities, like eye colour and perhaps hairstyle, there isn't much to definitively tie these two characters together.
I could make an argument that people age in different ways and Azula wears a lot of makeup, so her face may not be as angular as it seems in most of her appearances. But it would be somewhat of a stretch at best
Though the idea of Azula being the shaman got stuck in my head and the more I think about it, the more of a perfect conclusion to Azula's story it feels.
It would, of course mean that Azula mellowed out and became "good" in her later years, which I am still advocating adamantly for an Azula redemption arc.
But it goes further than that.
Of course, the idea of Azula saving the next Avatar after the one she literally killed for a bit is wonderfully poetic. It also touches on an idea I like of Azula potentially gaining a connection to Roku. Roku appeared to Jeong Jeong, why not to his angsty great granddaughter? I think it would be interesting, especially since I think he could actually get through to her.
The firebending healing thing is also bery interesting. Most people catch Katara and Azula being parallels in the show. Why would they stop being that as they age? I think it's very Azula to hear of Katara being a master healer and going "ok. Bet." and learning to work with chi through her bending as well.
It's also a sweet metaphor, as I've spoken a little about the symbolism of Katara embracing healing in her old age. Azula doing something similar would be absolutely wonderful. Both Katara and Azula were young women forced to fight in a war by circumstances bigger than them, so them finally experiencing peace and healing and expressing that through their bending is beautiful.
The shaman having raising Sky Bisons is also a cute full circle type thing to the part of Appa's Lost Days where Azula scares him. It also goes deeper, with it being a symbolic attempt at restoring at least a semblance of what her ancestors destroyed.
So, you can see why I'm partial to this theory, despite it not having many actual footholds. The Shaman is implied to be older then Azula, and you yourself have said that not all their features match.
Similarly to my "Baatar Sr is a Sukka kid" theory, this isn't something I believe, or even see as likeely in canon. However, I think it's neat and a cool story the more you think about it. I love trying to come up with ideas on how she got to becoming a shaman and the spiritual endeavour that would take.I think that, in my mind, it would be an almost perfect ending for Azula.
To be completely honest, I just want Azula to have a proper redemption and for her to see some healing.

DAILY ANGEL MESSAGE!
Take a deep breath, let it out slowly, say this prayer and then keep reading: “Thank you angels for revealing to me what I need to know!”
MESSAGE
Water guardians are the angelic beings that preside over all the energies connected to the element of Water and aquatic life. Lakes, oceans, streams, and waterfalls are the meeting places of these angelic beings, for they are the protectors of all these sacred spots in nature and the animals connected to them. On a spiritual level, water guardians help us connect with all the metaphorical aspects of Water, including our emotions, fertility, and the flow of life itself.
EXTRA GUIDANCE
By letting your emotions out, you create more space within to receive and experience the miracles that you need. On the other hand, by denying yourself the experience and expression of your feelings, you block off all forms of support, especially on the physical and emotional levels, but on the spiritual too. So, tap into this deeper aspect of yourself and express it, for then you also release any false narratives you have about being strong and access an immeasurable inner strength.
ACTIVATION
Water guardian, I trust my emotions and I let them flow with ease.
DECK: Angelic Activations Oracle

My dad's side of the family is from Slovakia, and a very mystical, sensory sort of Catholicism is part of my heritage. That's always felt strange
I was raised by pagan and Daoist influenced agnostics--my first drawing of god was a tree. Then, I was an asshole Dawkins-Influenced Rational Atheist from middle school til early college, bullied both by other students and by teachers in a heavily Christian area.
I hated Christianity and by extension Catholicism, even though I'd never bothered to learn about where it's rooted in my grandparents' experiences. Now I have strong feelings about Christianity for other reasons--a weapon of colonization isn't neutral. I feel that even as I honor and understand how integral it is to many peoples' senses of safety, comfort, and hope, and how it is a lens through which many people experience true divinity.
Now that my grandma is gone, I have so many regrets. She was the spiritual heart of the family even as she was also a rigorously scientifically minded woman. She was a lab tech before she got married, and everyone who knew her agrees she'd have been happier as a scientist than as a mother
She was a force of nature, powerful and strong willed. I don't know how she felt about herself but I see her as a witch from a heritage of equally spiritual, powerful, intense, in-charge women. She fought for immigrant rights, and worked in hospice and in prisons as a spiritual counselor. She didn't feel motherly or comforting--she simply felt like a strong woman with absolute core respect for every human being's dignity.
When I was growing up I couldn't reconcile all of who she was with her burning devout Catholicism. It seemed fantastical and morbid to me. The imagery and the heavy heavy layers of ritual. Now that I'm older and have talked to a lot of my family about her, i know she FELT Mary and Jesus, she didn't simply follow what she was told.
What I'd give to talk to her again. To hear what the rituals and prayer felt like to her. How she melded her curious and evidence-based nature and love of science with her practices. My feelings on Catholicism are still complicated, but after she passed, I have such deep regret for never talking to her about her experiences. They must have been so unique and personal.
I remember her writing a letter for her church bulletin and making my grandpa sign his name to it, because of his inherent social power as a man--about supporting gay marriage. This was 2008. I remember as a hospice worker, how she asserted a right to perform last rites as a woman. How she chose to go on birth control. That she loved my feral genderless self who couldn't stand her church, without ever saying a single word to try and convince me of her faith. So many small stories and moments.
I was so small minded and immature, growing up. Catholicism was just a funny outdated delusion to me.
My dad, a spiritual agnostic, told me that the heavy ceremony and ritual of her Catholic funeral, the smoke, carrying her casket, were deeply meaningful to him. They helped his mourning process along in a way the nondenominational scattering of ashes after couldn't.
I really feel like in this push for "progress" and "rationality" most Americans have lost ritual and trancelike, embodied spirituality.
Lost our experience of metaphor as reality on some level, and our sheer awe for the divine. It hurts my heart that Christianity is the lens through which so many of us translate all of this, but I've matured past a childish hatred for the people who feel it and don't/can't put in the work to pull it apart from the literal framework built into their brains
And I just wish I'd found that sooner.

Hi, literally just found your blog. I learned about LOA last year and, as someone already practicing a form of spirituality, took some of the good tip of the iceberg stuff and (mostly) forgot about it for about a year. I got back into it recently to revisit everything and see if there's anything that works for me that I can/want to add to my practice, so I decided to actually interact with the community for the first time. I did for about a week or two. After a few posts/comments I saw and engaged with, I thought, "Boy, this is starting to sound like a cult." As someone into spirituality who still has their head screwed on, I try to see the balance in things. Sometimes, I fuck up and I'm wrong about something. They don't feel the same way. I have seen an abundance of victim blaming, reality denial, and delusion. They basically all sit in this metaphorical circle and collectively gaslight each other. "Sure, you can bring family back from the dead, it's just that we have limiting beliefs around death, so it might not work. Sure, you can have this house tomorrow. Actually, if this didn't work- check your limiting beliefs (it's all your fault if this doesn't work. We're limitless). You can absolutely get access to the person who doesn't want to sleep with you. They want you, duh, it's done. Of course you can change this man's sexuality and have him want to be with you. He's your SP. Free will? Oh, don't worry about it. No one can manifest YOU without your consent (except when they do) because that's not YOUR reality." But also, "I mean, I can't give you proof, cause I'd witness it in my reality, but maybe you wouldn't in yours." Convenient. No matter what, they're right because they say so. I disagree? I don't get it, I should read NG's stuff to understand better. Hear me out, some of this can absolutely be helping people on a spiritual and psychological level, but in moderation. Something needs to be said about the toxic positivity, blind following, and comple gaslighting and delusion happening in this community. The way they respond to criticism feels so sinister to me. It's weird. I feel like it's easy for a lot of people who are desperate as a result of their circumstances or have trauma/poor self seem to get stuck there. It kind of reminds me of the whole "You were awful in a past life, so now this happened to you. There's no good or bad, just how you perceive it" in response to someone talking about their trauma. I believe in reincarnation, but this is an unhinged thing to say. LOA folks do the same, only you "manifested" it. Disagreeing with them and trying to have a discussion is just you going around in circles. It was a ridiculous experience.
Yup, it's victim-blaming and wild irrationality all the way down, and all for what? Belonging to a social circle full of the most toxic assholes you could possibly hope to meet on this site?
(Also it's not technically delusion, since that's an actual symptom of certain mental disorders. It's just regular cult irrationality.)

So, here's a thought about the idea that Qi Xiaotian is Underworld x Sun Wukong- in the original text, Macaque was a metaphor for a person's darker side, Wukong's darkest impulses. We never even saw what he actually looked like because he spent most of the chapter transformed into Wukong and he died.
So, maybe the whole harbinger thing is a reference to that. Wukong's darkest impulses are killed, maybe without a metaphor, and that part of his soul gets sent down to the Underworld. That part is scooped up, repackaged in the stone egg, and left to soak up Flower Fruit Mountain and Sun Wukong energy for an extra boost.
Dots are connecting, I'm probably not connecting shit, but dots are connecting.
I'm reading a summary of the jttw chapters (ch. 56-58) with the six-eared Macaque in them, and apparently "not even the imp-reflecting mirror [could] tell them apart" ("Origin of the Six-Eared Macaque and the Character’s Influence on Black Myth: Wukong" by JTTW Research). In lmk, this imp-reflecting mirror is the demon revealing mirror from 2x02, which I've had a lot of fun thinking about in reference to MK.
During Wukong and false-Wukong's fight, they traveled down to the underworld, and then they were sent to the Buddha who recognized the imposter immediately. The Buddha then gave an explanation of the 4 spiritual primates (which feels relevant to a conversation around MK and his relation to Wukong for obvious reasons), and he's able to identify Wukong's double as the six-eared Macaque. Macaque senses that he is in danger, and he turns into a bee to attempt to escape.
JTTW Research's article also brings attention to Wukong embodying the concept of a "Mind Monkey" (typically paired with the phrase "Idea Horse"), which is a Buddhist concept describing "restlessness, capriciousness, and lack of control in one's thoughts". In the Villains Wiki (which isn't the most reputable source but it brings up an interesting concept), the six-eared Macaque is referred to as representing "what Wukong could become had the latter chose power and chaotic freedom over protecting Sanzang." This is in line with what Macaque highlights in 4x11, "Wukong was on a path of self-destruction—we all were. But when he met the monk, it set him on a different path."
Ch. 58 of JTTW also calls attention to the concept of "non-duality", and as JTTW Research discusses "One mind” (Sk: ekacitta; Ch: yixin, 一心) is a high-level philosophy and core tenet of many Buddhist schools that refers to a tranquil, immovable mind that encompasses non-duality". If an individual has two minds instead of one mind, "disasters he’ll breed; / He’ll guess and conjecture both far and near”. I find this idea of "non-duality" super interesting, especially in context with MK's two distinct identities: his identity as "MK" and his identity as the "Monkey Kid"—his identity as a "Regular Noodle Delivery Boy" and as a "Monkey Demon". MK is constantly at war with himself, and I feel that his path as a "Mind Monkey" involves the restlessness that comes with mental illness and neurodiversity. So MK's own path forward will involve him stepping off the path of self-destruction—which means reconciling the different parts of himself, to be "one mind".
Now, this doesn't offer an explanation for MK's origins, but I do think the concept of pre-stone MK being "what Wukong could become had he chosen power and chaotic freedom" is worth discussing. I've always posited/enjoyed the idea that Wukong gave MK a second chance (with the reincarnations of the pilgrims), just like Wukong himself was given a second chance. With MK being given the title of "Harbinger of Chaos" in s4, and Wukong's original trajectory being one of chaos, MK has the potential to go/have gone farther than his mentor ever did.
#Mind Monkey....Idea Horse....MK and Mei are best friends even in metaphors...#i'm gonna throw up#anyways these thoughts are kinda disorganized but I am losing my shit honestly#lmk#lego monkie kid#asks#eamk theory#lmk theory#jttw#lmk analysis#lmk MK#lmk SWK#lmk Macaque#The lmk writers are fucking geniuses#They made the modern day Tang Sanzang stand in gay and they made MK a mentally ill Mind Monkey#RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

while it’s important that rj understood how prolonged exposure to trauma would mess with you psychologically on various axes - mental, emotional, spiritual, physical - it’s also very significant that he put in the work to question and explore how people could go about healing and recovering from their experiences with a realistic attitude.
sometimes they don’t heal - they don’t understand that they need healing, dismiss their instincts, or manage to bury all the complicated emotions they’re feeling. it’s seen when mat suffers from a severe case of survivor’s guilt whenever he survives a battle, and this is observed more obviously when he escapes from ebou dar without managing to save all the windfinders; he also doesn’t have the vocabulary to express why the abuse he suffers at tylin’s hands feels wrong, and his cultural background and his tendency to lie to himself prevents him from examining why this is the case. rand is simply incapable of dealing with the sheer physical, mental and emotional stress he’s subjected to without a support system to back him up - support that he’s specifically unwilling to ask for because he doesn’t want to be put in a position of vulnerability just like mat and has a very unique relationship with the level of autonomy he’s afforded and the abuse he may be subjected to as a result of his madness - and resorts to unhealthy coping mechanisms and internalises traits that also serve as an allegory for ideologies that toxic masculinity directly feeds off of; he reacts to aes sedai very badly although he eventually unlearns that instinct; he’s extremely suicidal, and lews therin works as an indirect metaphor for depression. egwene feels the need to be in a position of power whenever approaching a certain relationship (be it romantic, platonic or otherwise) after her time as a damane, and is often uncomfortable with setting down her guard unless she trusts the people she’s working with; rj has a very complicated track with his depiction of corporal punishment but he also touches on how it enables people in power to take advantage of it to abuse the people under their control through egwene’s arc. rand specifically laments how the sort of stigma and alienation that male channelers face will never really go away because of the fear ingrained into popular belief, and that’s also a very accurate depiction of how certain mental illnesses are received by society.
but rj puts in the extra work to explore how people who have access to support systems and are on the receiving end of patience and compassion are able to get on the path to recovery. he has nynaeve & co deal with the problem of deprogramming egeanin, the sul’dam and damane who’re thoroughly brainwashed by the seanchan. juilin is able to help amathera recover by being very sympathetic to her situation and protecting her from difficult situations that could trigger her ptsd. rj specifically spends a significant amount of time letting joline, teslyn and edesina slowly encourage the seanchan channelers to entertain the idea of their ability not being a curse and to even train to control it at the white tower. the maidens are able to get a read on rand’s discomfort with the dark and small spaces post dumai’s wells and are kind enough to always leave a light on in the dark for him; they also push rand to take his meals and care for himself. the asha’man are explicitly recognised as a group which needs to unlearn some of the toxic ideas encoded in the founding principles that rand introduced. rand himself is recognised to be in dire need of help again in the latter half of the series, although we never got to see the culmination of that arc, unfortunately* - but I have a theory that his arc as a hero is tied very closely to his ability to recover from the various traumas he’s subjected to.
wheel of time takes a very realistic stance on mental health and ptsd. more significantly, it recognises that trauma might not necessarily bring about a positive transformation in a person. and that’s okay.
*cadsuane’s arrival is the only one I can’t get a clear read on, and feels so obviously doomed to disaster from the very beginning given how her personality clashes with rand’s and with her introduction with the intent of controlling rand and never respecting his opinions or autonomy - but given how she’s criticised by the narrative, I’m inclined to believe that min’s reading might have potentially been fulfilled in a bittersweet way as her readings often are. if rand learned how to embrace his humanity again, I can’t imagine that she would have ever had a part to play in it that involved compassion or understanding.
#he wasn't traumatising rand for the shits and giggles I would've loved to see where he would have gone with him though I have my own theory#I’ll save that for the super long rand post though… if I ever fucking finish it#text#HE least of all people would’ve kept pushing the trauma button without intent and just for the sake of Angst. unlike a lot of other authors#I have no idea what he was doing with perrin though lol it has to be said… he really is the weakest point in the series#I know people enjoyed dragonmount and sanderson’s take on how rand and egwene suffered trauma to eventually become Stronger#but that’s absolutely not a realistic depiction and it doesn’t work for me sorry to say.#I also Do Not Get dragonmount at all. it’s like if you pulled a rhetoric about love and living out of your ass when rand is suffering in#THIS life and THIS context… he walked in with some new character conflicts & adressed THEM instead of what rj had already written for rand.#wheel of time#wot book spoilers#rand al’thor

TDP Season 6 Episode 3 live reaction, spoilers under the cut
Oh shit I forgot Callum did dark magic last season, looks like that’s having some repercussions right about now
Wait maybe that’s why he’s having Aaravos dreams at a seemingly higher rate than everyone else who’s having them
“Are you sure it’ll hold us?” “Nope :D”
oh thank fuck Callum saved it, if that shadowpaw had died I would have been so sad
Oh yay ethari gets his friend back!!
Way to demonstrate the very real dangers of black ice I guess
Terry actually waited for Claudia (not surprising :( ) and Claudia actually came back???? (Very surprising, also :( because he deserves better)
Ough icy ghost ship
Callum and Rayla are The Autism Couple, I think
God damn it the number of times Callum is using the word “ship” in this monologue makes me think it’s gonna be a metaphor for fandom shipping
Oh damn Claudia is experiencing the Big Sad
Callum hearing Rayla crying and immediately assuming danger when she’s really crying over a book is amazing actually
Okay Claudia being nonverbal and needing Terry to do everything for her rn is giving autistic shutdown energy and I feel that on a spiritual level. I hope that her breakdown and subsequent shutdown leads to her deciding to tell aaravos to go fuck himself but for plot reasons I know that isn’t happening
Callum really said “no blanket sharing before marriage”
Harrow was a poet?
WAIT CALLUM BIO DAD LORE DROP????
Omg he has a name (Damien) and he was chronically ill and probably died of said illness (Callum didn’t explicitly say he was dead but I’m assuming)
lmao Rayla is the only person on this quest with common sense
Oh my god the animal companions embarked on a side quest to get them to cuddle that’s hilarious and adorable
Way to ruin the moment, Callum
Well, at least he’s being honest about his use of dark magic on the ship last season
Wait why is Claudia’s new haircut actually adorable
TERRY MADE HER A PROSTHETIC!! sir she does not deserve you
Awww Rayla’s more concerned for Callum’s safety than dark magic being wrong
“Choose not doing dark magic over saving me” *immediately gets into a situation in which this declaration might become horrifyingly relevant* good job, Rayla
It’s fine she’s ok
“If aaravos controls me again you have to kill me” Callum didn’t we have this conversation last season?
Rayla agreeing to it is kind of sad but not unexplected
Bro stop talking to Ezran like you’re praying to a god
YES EZRAN TELL HIM
I wonder when my recommended tags will stop being Magnus Protocol and start being tdp

Alright. That's it.
What's their karma?
Tarot + intuitive messages.
*I'm definitely doing more of these later so if none resonated dw .
Groups
1 2
3 4 5
Group one
Their karma is slow but steady and it's funny cause they've been scared of getting karma for a while. True assholes. Some of you it's possible you could have been pointing something out about this person and everyone was like oh but this and that and just somehow missing the point one way or another. If that's the case then also they just like seemed to get away with it somehow in the past. I'm really getting someone being like, "bruh." Like it's so obvious in a way. This person feels like a f*cking child I'm ngl. Like they're dumb ASF. They don't get it. I don't know if that just reminded me of the song but I just thought of a song called get it where you fit in by too short. Haha. You guys more or less depending on the person have some level of spiritual authority. I literally I kind of hope this is a metaphor but I got like a person being inside of a burning building. Also like to be asleep ina. Building that's falling apart. Like I'm honestly getting some eery vibes so holy shit that's only if this person is straight evil ok if that's real. For a lot of you I'm not gonna lie I'm picking up on like someone who does bad things when no one's looking to as a lot of you can probably imagine and I initially was brought me to say this was I picked up on animal abuse. Someone here this person pretends like their a good person and you must be intuitive because this person is coming out as someone who literally for an example like is involved in one of those dog fighting things like in Beverly hills Chihuahua like something like that. I'm not gonna lie this could be indicating cult involvement and I'm talking about child sex trafficking and the real system connected to the government ,underground tunnels, Hollywood, etc. So some of the people receiving karma are apart of this here ok so good job guys on fucking with them . At the least I'm picking up that your souls are trapping them and getting them caught up and or the rest of you you guys have authority to kind of say okay fuck them up now and they get fucked up. Seriously. I'm almost getting that things will make more sense in the future yes for some of you where these are the worse people they're just gonna straight up die, for some of them it's severe illness. Overall I see them getting caught which somehow is karma enough for them all. I'm seeing a lawsuit for a few people. I'm getting a lot of panic from a good amount of these people in the future. So for this pile it's definitely different depending on who and honestly I immediately picked up on that but base minimum punishment it seems for all of you guys is these people get caught and reprimanded I believe is the word I'm looking for. For those of you where it's possible the worse things apply I'm seeing this ties into a bigger picture in the world so for those of you thank you for your service to humanity because you fighting against evil tells me you're a spiritual warrior here for these reasons and you're doing your jobs well. ☮️
Group two
Right off the bat you guys have some intensely good energy and you are meant to thrive socially. For the persons being asked about it seems like they're cold and lonely and if anyone is in their lives that person or maybe people are also that way too. The best they can get out of life is money and honestly they don't even spend it in cool ways so like the actual possessing of currency. So what I'm getting from this is these people are losers. Uhmm but for a lot of you alot of their money is being taken away and then it sort of seems like they're gonna try to fake a good heart or something like that.. they're gonna try to blend in somehow. Seems like they're trying to climb a ladder and they really think they're gonna get rich. Or just be even better off than before ☠️ so this is turning into a grilling session. Cause wtf. This is spirits prediction and they know what their talking about but oh my fuck you guys like whoever has to deal with this person or people whatever , like their poor guides I don't even feel like their guides I feel like these are spirits or something trying their best to make shit around them happen hoping for any results less than negative. They're really trying to do what they gon and have done did to these mfs to try to open their minds and show them that's there's like parts of life that require you not to be dumb and low vibing ASF . Overall the karma is mainly to be outcasts and alone and overshadowed for some.
Group three
Ok for a lot of you first of all of these people are who they say they are and doing as well as they say then why do they feel the need to defend that so hard. Honestly a lot of these people seem like the type to have a huge ego where as they don't want to admit to themselves that they're the problem so their lives just suck and they're like damn why is life like this everyone is screwing stuff up and life is being suck ass but I am clearly great so how could this happen to me. Ok. I'm not gonna hide anything from you guys somebody is going to get an injury of some sort to their private parts I am so sorry. Either they did magic and it's going back on them or someone did this to them and it's going to effect them because they deserve it or both ☠️they also a lot of them manifest shit for themselves because of how they talk or what they say right and or think too. Dear God you guys I'm seeing a lot lot of private part issues so you guys know why you're here you probably know that these people deserve this I guess, I'm assuming, maybe. Some of you don't. Now you do. Someone's dad might disown them or something about their dad right and this person already has issues with their dad so they're probably gonna snap at that point that's for someone in particular ok. I'm definitely seeing for a good few of you this person getting herpes or some type of disease like that's gross as hell. I'll leave it at that. Ok peace.
Group four
You guys are sweet, some of you know this some of you don't but the people I'm reading on most of them are apart of chaotic groups getting karma for all being bad people. This person played with you somehow ok I'm getting like whoever picked this pile yall are all so sweet I'm glad to be in your energies especially after ⬆️⬆️⬆️ haha. I digress. They're never going to find love really and that's sad. You all will so don't worry. The best these people will get is being hopeful for their futures and being incorrect. So delusion almost. You guys are powerful and somehow you having crossed paths with this person has led them down a certain path. They're going to have to deal with their inner issues and everything on the inside and you guys this is this person's greatest fears . Within themselves. A lot of them are not gonna be ok. Don't feel bad cause this is positive anyway technically ok either they're there and you suffer internally even if you try to ignore it . Or you deal with it. But these people like there is a good reason they were ignoring this madness before. Not anymore. They're not gonna let their inner demons have them running around being idiots anymore. And if they do some of them will genuinely end up in jail down that road but I don't see that for most of you. It's kind of like they thought something was funny then all of a sudden cause their demons are brought up it's like oh.... It's so not funny anymore .(to them ok) you also might be taking some form of energy from them that is like somehow coming off like a token or like ,, I'm not really sure but it's reminding me of the stars somehow. Like, in the sky at night stars. Super strange. You guys are cool.

I'm having so much fun with Virche Evermore! It's exactly the level of Gothic Romance I wanted, and often more romantic than I believed it would be. Scien is currently my favorite, but perhaps that's to be expected from someone who continually got "Pragma" (or "Ludus") on Cupid Parasite's love quiz. XD
On that same token, though (just unlocked Yves' route): am I doing sci-fi "wrong" if I'm considering the science as a vehicle for emotion and character rather than something "plausible"? Because I keep seeing people complaining about that and I'm so confused.
Analysis and spoilers for Lucas and Scien's (pre-Salvation) endings under the cut!
For example, I started with Lucas' route first. I went into it expecting this quiet, grief-filled story of a man struggling to choose between dying as himself VS continuing the vital community role he loves (teacher) at the risk of losing that passion for teaching. As the route progressed, the conflict became more, shall we say, "man vs man", but to me it didn't seem to lose much in that switch? If anything, it became clear that sometimes in this story love "comes too late", but it's worth feeling and sharing all the same. The themes of cults and Weird Science (tm) are there to enhance those emotions and that sense of loss--they're almost metaphorical that way.
Where that does fall apart for Lucas' route specifically is how he as a character feels very focused on the spiritual, not science and medicine. "What is the nature of the soul? What makes us human?" I think the antagonist chosen for him falls flat because of this: Cappuchine acts in accordance with those spiritual conflicts for 99% of the route until he's suddenly The Most Science Person. His way of "loving/preserving" is genuinely fascinating if viewed as a foil for Scien, but as a foil for Lucas specifically? They don't quite mesh. (Love the evil lair and outfit switch though, very classic and classy!)
To wander back to my point: I think Scien's route (pre-Salvation Ending) gave me more Feelings because the spiritual and science themes are better woven into his and Ceres' relationship. Both of them have these suffocating, abstract mantles placed on them by others, and through each other they learn to embrace and reject those mantles simultaneously. "To err is human", and yet "what a piece of work is man". Scien never stops thinking of Ceres as a human being, even when things spiral. Ceres has her sky-high expectations of Scien dashed to pieces by his hand, and as a consequence can point out his flaws with impunity. Their love is exhilarating, born of madness and hope. They're nothing less than devotee and God, offering and receiving tribute and acceptance at their lowest points...but they're also nothing more than a man and woman who respect and love each other.
When Scien says to Ceres "If the world will not forgive you, I will," it feels like the first time that mantle of Godhood has worth. And so it's not surprising when right after this comes his huge moment of self-discovery: "to forgive is divine", but "to err is human", after all. His downfall in his Despair Ending comes from hubris--but also, fittingly, from Lucas, the one character (so far) who adores Ceres like a devotee but can't accept her flawed humanity.
The science of Reliver technology and Death's Curse are like spotlights shining down on them--whereas for Lucas and Ceres, those same concepts get in their way as much as they help illuminate their love. And yet I can't find it in myself to discard the writing in the latter's case. I'd rather a story be as flawed as the humans that made it. That way, the emotional high points can be that much more exhilarating when they hit as hard for readers as they must have the writers when they realized, likely mid-sentence, it's working.
#virche evermore#shuuen no virche#lucas proust#ceres virche evermore#scien brofiise#You know a story's good when I start thinking about the characters and narrative themes right away XD

So I love the Cas daughter of Nemesis idea, but I also really liked the daughter of Hades one, especially because David Cain killed Shiva’s sister to push her into becoming Lady Shiva (and of course the word shiva relating to death and mourning). It’s like, death created Lady Shiva, and she became death (the death of all those she went on to kill). And at the same time this was happening, was the “deal” between Cain and Shiva for a child (Cas), and I know this is a different mythology, but like, something, something underworld deities and cursed deals . . . something, something dealing for souls both by giving up the baby to be raised as a weapon rather than a person and Lady Shiva metaphorically losing her soul/empathy/humanity to violence. Just, if the god of the dead was actually involved it could all fit in so well thematically.
And also, like you know the way that in PJO Nico can feel people dying or something, and how Cas killed that man as a child and saw his body language become empty and was horrified and decided never to kill again? Imagine the possibilities if she also felt it happening and had no context for what it was but knew that she caused that, she did that.
Cas already has a super interesting relationship with death, but if she also knew that it was genetically and spiritually a part of her, that could open some great character exploration.
god yeah im lowkey obsessed with cass at least being a descendent of hades. it opens up so many possibilities to really explore her relationship with death more. the way she would understand that one kill on a far more personal level, reading on the body what exactly she did but also seeing the soul and life leaving the body would affect her wayy more.
#it would also be interesting to explore her relationship with jason damian and steph more#if dying had changed her perspective at all because she would be able to sense that stench of death and wrongness on them#that they shouldn't be alive yknow#cass cain#the bat pjo au#ashbox
