the place kuroba and karamatsu go on their first date to is a pretty expansive garden and requires a lot of walking so the outfit they go with is on more casual comfy side. they definitely put how comfortable it is to move in to the test after having to outrun the rest of the sextuplets trying to sabotage kara's confession plans.

( also, i envision him wearing the outfit from the 2nd anime paradise cafe collab on that date. )

Is it just me or did Kyo make a mistake singing Ain't Afraid to Die in this new DVD ;(? I loved the song obviously just noticed that little detail although the climax of the song is phenomenal.

Now will Oboro ever sing well? I know he puts a lot of feeling into it which I always love but I'd like to hear it in a clean tone x(((

By the way I've always wanted to ask you what are your favorite live songs?

For example I loved too much when Kyo sang in Galacaa's performance of Rinkaku's Desperate Tour I think He sounds amazing as always but in that performance He really blew me away because He does something with his voice that I loved too much I don't know if anyone noticed :P too!

You're totally correct, Kyo confused these two paragraphs in the second half of the song:

Oh well, can you blame him? The memo sheet must have been full, that song has a lot of lyrics compared to some of Dir en grey's other songs and the paragrphs have the same melody sometimes.

Oboro, I wonder if it was "normal" even the first time it was played hah. It seems like there is no way it will ever be dialed down. At the same time, with Kyo, you know that if he sings a song completely identical to the studio recording, then he really does not feel it. Case in point: a majority of the Gauze and Missa songs.

As for my favourite live songs, hm... As you might have noticed, I am very partial to the live performance of The Perfume of Sins because of those growls. Otherwise... Keigaku no yoku especially with a mute audience? The Deeper Vileness and Behind a vacant image for all the headbanging? But I still foster a fascination for the Brazil show where Kyo acted the Blossoming Beelzebub so damn magically. Eternally grateful that somebody filmed it!

✈️ — ever traveled anywhere interesting?

MUNDAY ASKS!

I haven't been anywhere TOO interesting, since sadly I don't have the means or even the ability to travel far (as besides my day job, I am technically a live-in caretaker) but there was at one point I did manage to go to the Outer Banks in North Carolina with a bunch of folks from my family.

It was fun, but definitely a bit of an experience on the beach, as the part I was in, we were allotted a private second of the beach specifically for people rending the condos and houses.

INCOMING STORYTIME:

So fun fact for those who don't know: the Outer Banks has wild horses. These horses often congregate on the beach. The same beach you're on during your time there.

Now me being the resident vampire (aka I burn super easily in the sun), I was just chilling under the beach, under the big umbrella, taking a bit of a snooze while everyone else went to have their fun. Now while I was passed out and my family was having their fun, NO ONE NOTICED the small herd of horses that found their way to me.

I woke up to the rather large nose of the baby horses right in my face.

My ability to sit perfectly still and calm in a terrifying situation had never been tested so strongly in my life.

Chasing After Ghosts for the WIP ask game!

Oh hell yeah, this one's my baby.

When I first started on AO3 I had a crossover fic with one of the Ghostbuster cartoons from the 90s. It's... not the best tbh XD

I was a baby writer back then, and looking back, I'm amazed it got the attention it did. There were some chapters that didn't even break 1,000 words, which is hilarious when comparing it to the word counts I churn out now.

Anyways, to show my growth in skills, I'm rebooting the original story "Jason Todd...Ghostbuster?" (again first fic, wasn't great at naming back then LOL) to "Chasing After Ghosts"

FINALLY BEAT DOS2 and if i'm being totally honest, i'm rather disappointed with how it ended. spoilers for the endings & final battle under the cut!

the final battle sucked so FUCKING MUCH. the only reason i was able to beat it was because of some divine intervention i swear. like it was looking grim, folks. everyone died except for ifan, who was at like. 30 hp. and braccus rex was about to kill him when he suddenly died?? i'm assuming it's because of his vulnerability to fire damage, and if you've played dos2 you know that most fights end in fire or necrofire, so that's what got him. i'm just glad he kicked the bucket (AGAIN. HE EXPLODED INTO DUST IN THE FIRST DOS HOW IS HE ALIVE) but i wish there was the option to kill lucian as well. like, he sucks! he absolutely sucks! why does he get to live??

anyway. you get to choose to claim divinity or not, and you're given three choices: to return source to the people (like ifan spoke about previously), to become the new divine, or purge the world of its source to close the void.

you pick whichever one. if source returns to the people, windego pretty much curses your name for letting her stay shackled to the god king. if you become the new divine, she eagerly awaits a different godwoken just for the chance to get set free (unlikely, but one can hope, i suppose). if you purged the world of its source, you've freed windego from the clutches of the god king, and this one is seemingly the best ending because rivellon flourishes. i have mixed feelings on this one.

fade to black, you are on the lady vengeance that is somehow whole again because malady is ridiculously powerful and also suspiciously nice to you if you're the new divine. with the other options, she kind of just views you as an investment that didn't pay off. which like. rude, but fair

i somehow managed to foster romances with sebille and ifan simultaneously (didn't get there with lohse because i only added her to my party on the first leg of the journey to driftwood). sebille basically doesn't really care all that much about your choice, preoccupied by her fate as a scion. lohse also doesn't care. she just wants to get back to barding. they're both pretty neutral about it.

ifan isn't. ifan has exactly zero chill and will either give his approval (sharing source across rivellon; romantic ending, best reaction because that's what he wanted), acknowledge you as the new divine (vaguely romantic ending—he ditches you to help regrow the elven forest), or angrily call you a betrayer (purging the world of source entirely, worst ifan ending because you let lucian stay divine and alive so he wants you dead).

personally i feel like we should have gotten an ending where like. we purge rivellon of its source, kill lucian, and all seemingly goes well. but this is not an option, even though you should've killed lucian in the battle beforehand. that way, ifan won't treat you with contempt or malice, because he disapproves of choices lucian made as divine and not as much about purging source. we could truly have had it all.

Gaius felt his teeth gnash together, a knee-jerk thought coming to his mind before he could fully stop it from becoming.

Savages. Even inebriated, they remain such.

He felt the collar of his tunic against his throat, the mug of piss water the Alliance called beer pressing into his palm. For a brief blink - enough time for him to exhale, a long, disappointed thing - he remembered who he had once been. Who the Warrior had once been.

The places that fate had put them in for all the world to see. Varis may have removed all of the theatres from the palace, but Solus still managed to puppeteer from the grave and beyond.

He caught himself. He took a long draw from his drink, finishing it entirely before his temper cooled, and snapped back at the ghost of who he had been, the decades of racism and colonization that had shaped his mind's view of things.

He had seen his own men be as foolhardy when a drink or two in - ... even if their beverage of choice was much stronger. For them to inquire was not savage. It was human.

Had the Warrior of Light existed in his youth, he was certain he would have asked such questions at twenty summers, too. Curiosity would kill them all.

(It was what led to this conflict, did it not?)

"We are not sharing bedrolls," he said flatly, "nor have we ever. The Adventurer has seen many and more beings in his day - ... to satisfy himself with an old man would be blasphemy."

And then, a moment of silence later, he realized they had not asked if he was fucking the Warrior. They had asked if he would.

Gaius ran a hand through his hair, elbow on the table.

Did they not have a god to pray to? Did these soldiers speak such and ask forgiveness? How a man could do both was beyond him. To speak so viscerally and still wish for a higher being to listen to their begging - ...

"To satisfy himself with an old man would be blasphemy," he repeated. He looked up as his mug was refilled. There was not enough ale in the Alliance's supply to get him to the same state of disarray as the Eorzeans ahead of him.

He rose, mug in hand, nearly choosing to ignore their question all together - had the concept of him leaving had caused them their cacophony to raise in volume threefold. They would more likely follow him than to let him escape their query.

"I once believed myself worthy of being his equal," he stated simply. "And asked him to join with me - to usher forth some ... grand, new Eorzea. He denied me that - and I am not one to make the same mistake a second time. Should he want to curry my favor this time," Gaius finished, "He shall be the one asking."

Communication is the key to a good relationship. That’s what they always say isn’t it? That you need to talk about the things on your mind and be open and up front instead of building a life atop secrets. It’s easier said than done of course, particularly when one of you is governing a nation and the other is a masked vigilante working outside of the remit of the law you are trying very hard to uphold - not to mention when schedules so rarely align and you can go weeks, sometimes even months between seeing each other. But there are certain things that need to be communicated. Things that deserve a sentiment and attention far greater than any letter or bedside note can convey. 

For a diplomat she ought to be better with words. Ought to be better at finding both the courage and poetry to spit out what she needs to say, but alas, when it comes to Diluc, Jean is often left mute. Often struggles to say half of the things she wants to, without the words somehow muddying. He makes her nervous. If truth be told, he always has - perhaps that’s part of the charm. That infectious little adrenaline rush that always seems to exist in his presence because she has never been able to truly predict the volatility of his response. 

This time in particular, she is more cautious than most, a faint air of uncertainty present in world weary limbs as she bestows upon him a cryptic gift wrapped in simple brown paper. ❝I brought you something. ❞ Beneath humble wrapping there sits a hand painted mug that she hopes will make the present situation abundantly and unmistakably clear. 

As painted in the familiar slanted cursive of her own hand, are three immortal words.

If not his nightly escapades, his nightly SHENANIGANS, then surely, his exhaustion will do him in. He wouldn't put in the work with such dedication if he didn't truly, undeniably, love and ADORE what he did, even if his body, at so young an age, was beginning to feel the consequences of it. If it means those he employs may continue to have their days off, to see family and to rest their OWN weary, aching bodies, then he is fine submitting himself to this non-existent work / life balance.

--- besides, he has fallen for one who lives much the same lifestyle, so, to some degree, he supposes it works out. They both know -- ACCEPT -- that these long periods without one another are not for lack of desire to spend time together. She protects Mondstadt by day, and he, by night, and sometimes, she's in her OWN office with a stack of paperwork as her impending pillow in the absurdly late hours of the night, whilst HE is just coming back from a business trip just hours prior. There is no shortage of work on either end, and while saddening ( certainly unhealthy, too ), it . . . works.

It also makes the occasions they CAN make time easy to cherish. The DELIGHT he feels when he can see her, hold her, kiss her . . . it is unfathomable, unmatched. Father's Day had once been lumped in with both his birthday and Crepus' birthday as one of the HARDEST days of the year for him, but Jean has made it better. Easier. This year, he isn't drowning himself in his work to keep from mulling over the past, but instead, is peppering her jawline in kisses with arms wound tightly around her waist, showing her how much he MISSED her without need of words. He hadn't EXPECTED her to come over, made evident by the abandoned mug of half consumed coffee atop his desk, but she's a far better start to his day anyway, even if he's only managing to HALF register her words . . . and, apparent gift.

He gently turns the mug around in his palms, eyes SQUINTING as if the words are foreign. " I . . . think you grabbed the wrong gift, Dandelion, " he teases, holding up the mug with the words facing her, so she can see her mistake. Yet, when she doesn't hasten to snatch it from him in embarrassment, he stands there, confused, and reads over the words again, like maybe, THIS time, they'll look different. Maybe he truly IS so exhausted that the mug ACTUALLY said something like ' World's Best Strawberry, ' or something to that degree, but it doesn't . . . and she's STILL not taking it from him.

" Jean ? I'm not . . . understanding. What's . . . what's this mean ? " He knows what it means. The way his hands begin to somewhat shake, one intense jolt away from dropping the mug ENTIRELY make it OBVIOUS he knows, but he's not going to jump to conclusions. No, he needs it from her mouth, or in writing. PROPER writing, that spells it out, and not by way of a beverage holder that could just be nothing more than a gag gift. " If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were . . . " She's still not taking the damn mug. She's STILL not correcting him, or stopping him. She's just letting the pieces slide into place, patiently letting it all process, because she knows how OVERWHELMED he easily gets when it comes to strong emotions.

She nods. CONFIRMS it. They've been on the same page this entire time, and finally, finally, she puts him out his misery.

" You're pr . . . you're pre . . . "

He's watched his own father pass away in his arms. He's seen UNIMAGINABLE things--- dismembered limbs, blood splatter, grisly, inhumane things that would drive most other people absolutely insane, but it's THIS that has his knees buckling and his body hitting the floor. At least the mug doesn't suffer any damage, as it tumbles some distance away from his open palm, perhaps humorously landing right by his face that looks worryingly pallid. Adelinde comes RUSHING in not long after, seeing her Master's body laid out COLD on the Dawn Winery's floor, but then she sees the mug, and it hits HER faster than it had hit Diluc. Clearly, he's not in danger . . . hasn't been stabbed, poisoned, or worse, so it's Adelinde who hugs Jean with an excited SQUEAL, speaking for all of Diluc's loved ones who had only ever wanted this for him.

" He will be so happy--- oh my goodness ! " She knows him best, it's undeniable. And, indeed, he will be, when he can handle the big reveal without collapsing again. For now, there's a CHAT to be had after they move his body to the bed for proper recovery, which he will, no doubt, be sucked into the moment those glossed over, crimson eyes flicker open to greet reality again.
