Laughter spilled at the aphorism dropped in Rangiku's breezy manner, an easy thought carried on a haze of novelty cocktails, as though it were the most obvious wisdom.

Simple as that, was it? No, nothing was ever so simple...

But as they high-tailed it down the fire escape and through the alleyway behind the nightclub, those were reflections for the future. In the moment, those thoughts were being outrun by the pair, as was the security detail who had finally realized that the credit card attached to the tab was a problem. That one was his doing. It was no longer clear whose idea it had been to begin tossing water balloons from the roof of at those exiting below, but a better idea might have been to have left the gigais at home in the first place, because it certainly wouldn't do to leave them on the rooftop now. Then again, Rangiku's had proven so useful to gain them entrance...

"Have you heard? There's this thing in the world of the living called "dating app" that's been rising in popularity among the young folks. Wanna give it a try and see who can get the most dates in a week? Winner gets to ask loser to spill three secrets, plus 1000 Kan paid in cash. How 'bout that?"

"Absolutely no~" was the immediate, jovial answer to such an absurd suggestion. What she was trying to barter with was secrets and that was not a currency Yumichika would ever do business with - even with a friend like Rangiku. Otherwise this whole competition of popularity did sound quite intriguing in a way, though slightly bizarre. Arranging dates and meeting lots of new people was a bit of a hassle, wasn't it? And what did those modern people even do on dates? What would they talk about? He had no clue.

"I'm not looking to date anyone right now, thank you very much", the continuation soon came, flat and sounding like a poor excuse. Of course he wouldn't say anything about the real reason why this idea of hers was instantly off the table.

Cross Division training drills, that's what the plan was today across the Seireitei. Per Head Captain Kyōraku's orders, the Captain's of the Gotei 13 were to swap out their seated officers for a day or so in an effort to share knowledge and tactics between the divisions in an organic manner.

That was the plan, anyway.

Amagai was sure that his Lieutenant and 3rd Seats were working very hard right now alongside 10th Division Captain Hitsugaya, whereas back in the 3rd Division Barracks, Amagai and Lieutenant Matsumoto had been…. hardly working; things like eating, playing on their Denreishinki, reading the latest Seireitei Communication, and so on was more like it for the two.

Amagai would eventually think of something to impart upon Lieutenant Matsumoto, some kind of training or tactical study that she could take with her back to the 10th Division, but he was sure Rangiku didn't mind lazing around for a bit-- he imagined that Captain Hitsugaya didn't let her indulge in that very often.

That did bring a question to mind, too.

"I've got to ask, what's Hitsugaya like," inquired Amagai, in a mirthful tone, "you know, as a Captain, is he always serious and intimidating?"

Amagai, who was sitting at his desk with both feet kicked up on the table, looks across the room at Rangiku with a lively grin.

" --Oi, who even told you it was okay for you to stay here, to stay in MY ROOM?" Ichigo asked, still in disbelief that Rangiku had randomly decided to take a vacation to the world of the living and to spend said vacation at his house of all places. What had he done to deserve this?!

"You can't stay here, get the fuck out."

Back in the days ( and Nnoitra wasn't even old ), Halloween costumes had used to be scary. Now? They were not. Somewhere along the line, costumes had gone from being scary to being sexy. The kinda costumes you could expect women to wear these days were things like "sexy nurse" or "sexy vampire". This development was 5/5 in his opinion. There was no reason why women should dress up in a "scary" costume anyway, seeing as they could never be frightening. They would have much greater luck looking hot.

This chick, Rangiku, already looked hot. She had the perfect body, and she knew it. So YEAH, Nnoitra was looking forward to see what kind of skin-revealing costume she was going to rock on Halloween. He'd made the statement almost like a joke. It was obviously suggestive though. She was way, WAY out of his league, but he had no shame, so he didn't give a shit about that. He was expecting her to maybe joke and say that yeah, the whole staff would be wearing maid-outfits for Halloween, or something like that.

The bait he'd served her wasn't any good, so he was, to put it mildly, surprised when she swallowed it all. She actually invited him to a Halloween party. To be her plus one! This could only mean one thing. SHE WAS INTO HIM! She wasn't just being polite, because holy shit, there was a limit to what you'd do just to be "nice" to someone.

Nnoitra grinned.

Mun Question Thing: 12. what roleplay trends do you remember from the year you started tumblr rp? how did you feel about those trends?

From when I started? Phew! One prominent trend I remember were follower milestones (aka Follow Forever or Holidays posts thanking followers). In such posts, they were accompanied by some neat graphics, and the op would give off a thanks and list urls who they've interacted a lot with and/or acknowledge just about most of their followers.

These were quite neat, if I'm being honest. But I can understand why it may have died down over the years, especially when drama came into the picture and/or how it made others feel when they were forgotten or excluded in such posts. While the intention was good, I don't think it was an ideal system, especially when cultivating your own dashboard space.

There have been other ways to spread positivity though, and I'm glad the rp community continues to create innovative way to show appreciation to those who have stuck around.

         "Kenny! Keeennyyyy! Wakey-wakey!~" Yachiru was bouncing around the 11th barracks, not unlike a pink, rather more destructive pinball. She'd already woken the BALDY three times, much to his chagrin; Yun-Yun gave her the idea to go bother Rangiku! Bothering Toshi-taichou was always fun, but she didn't bug Rangiku often! She just had to clear it with Ken-chan, so she wouldn't just be missing!

         Kenpachi let out an irritable groan, sitting up straight in his seat. He'd nodded off from sheer boredom a few hours prior; nothing was going on. No one to fight. He really wished someone had warned him that Captain's duties WEREN'T usually fun, guts, and glory. Someone had. Many did, in fact. He just didn't listen at the time.

         ‎‎‎‎‎"Yachiru? What is it? Ichigo?"

         "Nope!~" The pinkette chimed, doing a little twirl. "I wanna go bother Ran-Ran for free snackies! You know what day it is! Can I, can I?" Kenpachi knew, all right. Yachiru loved the days following sappy holidays, it usually meant free confectionaries. This was a big one, especially with Ukitake; he was surprised she wasn't going to bug him, but rather than say that, he simply shrugged his shoulders. "Do what ya want, Yachiru. Work can come later."

         Yachiru let out a high-pitched cheer (followed promptly by a THUMP a few rooms away, and Ikkaku cursing), and took off out of the barracks like a pink missile. She was at the 10th in moments, but rather than use one of the MANY hidden passages she had around the various barracks - she tried to launch in through an open window, not realizing it was closed!

         And so Rangiku would be treated to the glorious sight of Yachiru Kusajishi, Lieutenant of Squad 11, faceplanting the window of her room, and slowly sliding down like a character out of an MGM cartoon. She's so graceful.

That was it. He was going to do it. Quit being pathetic and talk to her. Muguruma-taichou's words kept drumming over and over again in his mind's ears and he was determined to prove he wasn't stalling. Even though he frequently was prone to his nerves creating a certain, obvious hesitency m; anxiety getting the better of him. But he had a good idea and a solid plan ready this time.

And there she was.

"Rangiku-san. So... tell me, what are some of your favorite places to spend your time, here in the living world?" Smooth. Yeah, he was sure he nailed it.
