you and alessia get in a fight when you confront her about neglecting you.

you were utterly exhausted. it was your team's first practice of the season with your new coach who wanted to see your team reach the wsl. there had been offers to play in teams that had already made it, but it would have put distance in between you and alessia.

a part of you wanted to tell yourself that you didn't want the distance to put strain on your relationship, but you knew that alessia would break up with you before you could even finish telling her where you'd be. she couldn't be bothered to keep your relationship going if you moved away.

"are you fucking kidding me?" alessia grumbled at the sight of you splayed out on the couch. you let out a whine as alessia stomped past you. all you wanted was one day where she wasn't acting like an ass at home.

you had no idea what had gotten into her lately. alessia had been sweet at first, but once you got serious, she stopped caring. the longer that you stayed, the worse she treated you. there were often moments where you stopped and wondered if she just wanted you to break up with her. she'd look like an ass if she broke up with the social media sensation who was trying to get her team promoted.

"did you even get anything done today? the house looks like shit," alessia said. she dropped down onto couch. she pushed your legs away, careful not to sit on them. "it would be nice if i didn't come home to a mess like this all the time."

"it would be nice if you spent some time with me, but we can't all get what we want, now can we?" admittedly, it wasn't the most mature response, but you were sick and tired of being the adult with alessia. not only was she actually older than you, but she was always the perfect gentlewoman whenever other people were around.

"oh i'm so sorry. do you want me to quit playing at arsenal and join your little pipe dream pretend team?" alessia asked you. you clenched your fists at your sides and shot up from the couch. you stormed off towards the bedroom with alessia shouting after you about how immature you were being. all of her little comments died down as soon as she saw you walk out of the bedroom with a packed bag.

"i'll be back for my things tomorrow," you told her. alessia jumped up from the couch and sprinted to stand in front of the door. "alessia, move out of my way please. i need to go."

"no, i don't want you to. come on, this is a stupid fight. i'm sorry, i didn't mean what i said to you. i'll help you clean up and we can watch love island together. just please, don't leave," alessia fell onto her knees in front of you. you felt a bit bad, but you shoved right past her with your bag to leave. you didn't look back that night, you couldn't have without turning yourself right around.

"you said what to (y/n)! i should kick your fucking ass right here blondie!" alessia flinched at the sound of katie's voice. it was nothing compared to the glare she was receiving from leah. "are you mental? why would you ever say that it her?"

"i was mad, it just slipped out. i didn't mean it, not at all. i'm such an idiot," alessia cried. she had made it three days without you at home before she completely broke down. alessia didn't know whether or not to count herself lucky that katie and leah had been lingering in the locker room when alessia had her little tantrum.

"you're a dickhead, that's what you are. i don't know (y/n) very well at all, but i know that she's given up a lot to stay in london with you," leah told alessia. "i don't know what the hell is wrong with you, whether it's stress or your fucking ego, but you need to apologize."

"what can i do to get her back?" alessia asked. katie and leah shared a look, one that told alessia all she needed to know. you weren't hers anymore, not after what she had said to you. there was more than that, months of neglect and harsh words building up. alessia would consider herself lucky if you ever agreed to speak with her again.

"i'll be checking on the little chick, and if i heard that you've said anything other than that you're sorry and it was all your fault, i'll shatter your fucking knees," katie threatened. alessia jumped out of the way as katie moved past her, no doubt with her phone out to check on you.

"if she does take you back, don't make this mistake again," leah warned. alessia knew that already, but she still took leah's words to heart. she wanted a second chance, one that she wouldn't let waste for anything.

you hated being alone, but you hated living with your sister and her boyfriend even more. martha was great, but nick was an asshole. he got on your nerves like nobody else. you didn't think it was possible, but you almost missed being ignored by alessia over having to sit through nick's constant chatter for another night.

you pushed that thought out of your head as you pulled up to the training facility to see a familiar car in the parking lot. "alessia, what are you doing here?"

"i wanted to speak with you, but i don't know where you're staying," alessia said. she looked nervous, something that you weren't used to seeing on her. "can i start with apologizing because i am so sorry. i'm sorry for all of it. i shouldn't have ignored you for starters, and i shouldn't have said that. i'm sorry that i lied to you too."

"what did you lie about?" you asked her. suddenly, you were afraid that alessia had been hiding some big secret from you and that was why she had been so distant.

"i said that what you were doing with your team was nothing, and it's not. it's important, and i can't wait to play with you in the wsl," alessia said. she reached out to grab your hands, as if that would fix everything.

"alessia, you can't just come here, apologize, and expect us to be okay. do you have any idea how badly you've hurt me?" you asked her.

"i can't imagine what i've done to you. i can't explain why i ignored you, but i won't let it happen again. it's been a week, and i've never felt more miserable. i miss you so much, and i just want you to come back home with me," alessia said. you hated seeing her upset, even after what she had done to you. despite everything, you still loved alessia.

"a week. i'll come home for a week, and we'll see how things go from there. do anything like this again and my first call will be mccabe," you threatened. alessia nodded, already well aware of the things katie planned to do to her if she broke your heart again.

Her phone constantly vibrated against the glass coffee table of Max and Her's home. People were mentioning her in a tweet made from one of those wag accounts saying that Max was spotted with another woman that wasn't her and that he could be cheating. 'Max wouldn't cheat on me, right?' she thought to herself. Although, she remembered he had been acting rather weird lately. But him acting weird could mean anything.

The sound of the front door opening and closing and keys hitting the ceramic bowl alerted her that Max was home. Her eyes went straight to the bright orange bag in his hand. The same bright orange bag from the picture in the tweet.

"What's going on in that head of yours, Schatz?" Max hugged her, kissing the top of her head. He smelled like her.

"Thinking about what to make for dinner. Anything in particular?"

"I was thinking we could get takeout."

"Sounds good." She watched as Max turned towards their bedroom and tucked neatly into the collar of his shirt, which was a redbull shirt no shock there, was a semi dark hickey. A hickey she knew she didn't put there. Maybe that one tweet was right.

Dinner that night was a silent affair. The question of rather or not he was actually cheating weighed heavily on her mind. One half of her was being completely ignorant and believing Max would never do such a thing. The other half, the rational half, are putting the pieces together and ringing the alarm bells and are practically shouting from the rooftops that he is most definitely cheating. It was getting to be too much for her.

"Are you cheating on me?"

Max began choking on the water in his mouth. "What? Are you crazy? Where are you even getting this from?"

"It's just- I kept getting tagged in that one tweet-"

"And you believe it? You know those kinds of accounts make stuff up."

"Never said I did, Max," she said. "But explain the orange shopping bag, or how you got that hickey on your neck, or how you smell like none of the perfumes I have."

"I don't have to deal with this." Max stood up from the table and y/n followed after him.

"Y/n, I don't want to talk about this right now."

"Well, that's just too damn bad. We're talking about this now because If we don't it won't get talked about at all."

Max faced her, his body shaking with anger. "Fine! Yes, I did cheat on you. Is that what you wanted to hear? How you weren't good enough and will never be good enough for me? How you'll never be good enough for anyone? How sometimes I can't fucking stand you to be around you? You. are. insufferable."

Her eyes started to fill with tears. In all the years she's known Max, he's never not once gotten this mad nor has he ever been this hateful. As if he realized what he's said, he began to apologize profusely.

"I'm so, so sorry, Schatz." Max tried to come closer to comfort her, but she stepped away.

"Thanks for letting me know how you really feel about me, Max. I'll uh get out of your hair."

"Y/n, please-"

"No amount of apologizing will ever make me forget what you said. You were the love of my life, the man that I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with and have kids with."

"But we can still have that!"

"It's rather funny you're trying to save a relationship you destroyed," she chuckled loudly at Max's audacity. "Tell me, how long have you been cheating? And be honest, I deserve that much."

With his head hung low in shame, he mumbled, "Nearly a year."

"Unbelievable."

Before heading off to their bedroom to pack some clothes, she looked at the man she once loved. "You know, I've dealt with a lot in my life. I've traveled the world seeing it in a whole new light while doing what I loved, been in a crash or two that was painful, seen and experienced things I didn't think I'd be able to experience, but this... this hurts the most."

Once she left the house, she got in her car and tapped on her lawyer's number, texting him.

Mackenzie huffed, clearly not satisfied with that answer. But if there's something about Mackenzie everyone should know, is she has a habit of asking rather intrusive questions she has no business asking. "Your relationship with fellow driver, Max Verstappen, ended over the summer break as well."

"My relationship, or lack thereof, is not yours or anyone's business. End of discussion."

"But he-"

"Yeah, and I said end of discussion. What part of that did you not understand?" she paused. "Now, does anyone have any other questions? No? Okay."

She sat the microphone down beside her and walked out the room. Was she going to get lectured by her PR manager? Yeah. Was she going to be fined for walking out? Probably. But she didn't care and if there was one thing she knew she didn't have to sit there and be questioned about her personal life.

The bullies learned a long time ago that Reader and her friends can't be bothered by their comments, so they scoff and walk away when they see them hanging out with the two nerds.

Reader sees them walking up to the table where Eli and Demetri are sitting and she walks over with her tray, sits down, and he friends follow. She smiles at Eli and takes his hand into hers under the table. Then she turns to see Kyker and his friends at a standstill, not sure what to do, and she flashes a fake smile and waves her fingers at him, being a bitch to them since they wanna act like bitches.

🍃 He didn't think hed ever like getting high, but he loves sitting in her car together and smoking with her. They sit in an empty lot and hot box the car, only to end up making out heavily over the middle console.

🍃 He starts to adopt her beliefs about his bullies, how unimportant they are and how what they say doesn't matter. She definitely brings out a side of him he didn't know he had. Regardless of that though, he's still shy and quiet Eli. He just doesn't let the bullies bother him so much anymore.

🍃 Black lipstick smooches all over his neck. When it's smeared on his lips or around his mouth, Demetri is always at a loss for words. Eli never knows what to say if he's caught with the lipstick on him. He gets so flustered and stammers even more than usual.

🍃 Late night dates, long drives, and open-late diners are all perfect dates for these two.

🍃 Him worrying about his mom finding out he's smoking weed with his girlfriend, but she's too happy he has a girlfriend to notice his red eyes when he comes home after his dates with Reader.

🍃 People think she's too goth and spooky for him but obviously they just don't understand the couple. Reader gives zero fuck about their peers. She only cares about Eli and is more than happy to show that in any way she can.

🍃 Did I mention high sex? Yeah, these two end up there a lot when they're high, more often than not.

If you've learned Latin, you probably know many other things, and he'd love to find out how far your knowledge truly goes. He wants to pick your brain apart and see what's hiding underneath and would be glad, ecstatic even, to follow along with you, just to see where it'd take him. It's not every day he meets someone else who has similar interests to his own.

Raul doesn't really care, he just thinks it's neat. Not many wastelanders he meets are educated enough to be able to speak another language, and he's impressed that you managed to accomplish such a feat. Although, he does wish it could've been Spanish instead of a dead language only the slavers speak. He'll give you shit for it, but he's impressed nonetheless.

Lily doesn't understand a word you're saying and just assumes her schizophrenia is acting up again. That being said, she mostly just shrugs her shoulders and nods. She might not know what's happening, but she's sure that she'd probably agree with whatever you're saying.

Cass just rolls her eyes when she first hears you talking. Of course, she's traveling with a nerd. Don't take it the wrong way, she's not trying to be mean, but what is knowing Latin going to do you in the Mojave? Anyone who still speaks it also speaks English, so it's pretty much useless. All that time you spent studying the language could've been spent doing... well, anything else, and she thinks you're a little stupid for not considering that beforehand. It's not a deal breaker for her, she'll still travel with you, but she's definitely not as impressed as some of the others would be.

Veronica's more confused than anything. They don't speak that back at Hidden Valley, and she hasn't exactly heard the best things about the people familiar with the language. That's not to say she isn't interested in learning more about you or where you even learned to speak it. She's out here specifically to learn more about others, and you seem to be a good start. She'd even be willing to learn a few phrases from you. She's caught off guard but not entirely turned off by the idea.

ED-E will just beep back. You can't fully understand him, and he can't fully understand you. He sees this as a perfectly balanced relationship. Although a few others in the Divide also speak that language, and lucky for you, he remembers where they are. So, he has no issues guiding you straight toward them. Maybe you could be friends!

Rex is more attentive to your orders. His memories from before being The King's dog are a bit foggy but, when he hears you speak Latin, there's a part of him that remembers those words. Or, at least, the tone. Ceasar spoke a lot of Latin to him when he was under his care, and he may inadvertently associate you with the image he formerly had of him: powerful and demanding. He'll be sure to follow your orders thoroughly.

I have to ask myself what Emma would do. Within reason. And only within the scope of this fictional game, because I'm not about to touch this topic as it exists in the real world. That's for people much smarter than me.

But for the game, my dismissing of Azel as a cruel misogynist without seeing his circumstances and worldview shuts down the conversation the same way it does when Azel dismisses a woman as a slut without seeing her circumstances and worldview.

(Did he actually use the word 'slut' or did google just translate 痴女 like that for me... I should double-check... edit: oh my bad, he calls her a "female molester", which... I can't say he's wrong considering she tried to give him an aphrodisiac...? The word also means "stupid woman", so he could very well have meant it that way too, especially for some reasons I get into later in the post.)

Soooo, he didn't actually call her a slut. I'm an idiot 😌 I'm sorry, Azel. Dunno if any of my points below mean anything, but I'll leave it here anyway:

The running theme in Ikepri is to look beyond the beast and see the human inside. To meet them halfway. To see their heart. And that heart is always so very terribly scarred. All these guys have gone through their own traumas and come out the other end behaving in ways designed to be armor, to protect themselves from any further pain.

I can only speculate about Azel this early in his story arc, but being showered with the same adoration and reverence that people only show a god, day in and day out, probably fucks with your mentality a bit if you are still only human at the end of the day. Having women try to seduce you only because you're The Living God, well, we saw what that kind of shallow treatment did to Silvio. Women see you as an object and so women become objects to you. You want to be loved, but you don't want to be hurt.

That might only be scratching the surface with Azel, though. He's also clearly jaded from listening to the same old interpersonal problems people have when in relationships. Love is actual trash to him, not even worth a single penny. It's trash because the very people who follow him prove it to him on a daily basis, I imagine.

Yet that's still not the full picture. I mean, we obviously won't have the full picture until his main route drops, but there's another key factor to consider with Azel.

He quotes Pascal in Licht's sequel. "Man is only a reed, the weakest thing in nature; but he is a thinking reed." The full quote goes onto say:

"All our dignity consists, then, in thought. This is the basis on which we must raise ourselves, and not space and time, which we would not know how to fill. Let us make it our task, then, to think well: here is the principle of morality.”

(Did I read the entire context of the quote? HA! What do you take me for? A scholar or something?)

Free will and independent thought is arguably the most important thing to Azel. He has no respect for the sheep who flock to him for direction (though he'll happily take their money and tributes). Even with the dancer who tried to seduce him in the prologue, when he tells her to lick up the food she dropped after he tripped her, he presents it as a choice. Nevermind that the staggeringly unequal power dynamics at play made it so this was nothing short of coercion in the end; there was no way the dancer was in a position to stand up for herself and say no, even if that's exactly what Azel wanted. But from his perspective, defiance would have been welcome. That's why he phrased it as a choice. That she started licking up the food only solidified in Azel's mind that this woman is an unthinking reed without dignity. If you're going to act like trash, he'll treat you like trash... maybe that was part of his thinking.

On a slightly different note, I think another reason he hates the idea of love so much is because love makes people lose their ability to reason, to think. I believe he outright says as much, iirc.

In the end, I don't know from where exactly Azel's fury and cruelty comes from. It could be all of these things, it might be something else entirely. All I can think is, you can't be 'God' everyday and not be scarred by humans.

In conclusion, I can't excuse Azel's behavior. I don't excuse it. But I think Emma would try to understand the why of it, like she does in any other route. The other running theme in Ikepri is that, as a certain someone would put it, the essence of all people is love. It's their environment that twists them. Somewhere in Azel is the purest kind of love. A kind that would make any god look away in shame. That's what I want to believe in, anyhow.

Also, I need stress that I was SO wrong about whether he actually called the dancer a slut or not. Google fucked me over by translating it that way! Ah, Azel, I'm so sorry!

Now, let's take it from the very beginning

Poppy has always known Branch was different, gray, and she's accepted it, though his antics might have annoyed her. And later, much later, it still took him a while to actually open up to her. The thing is, Branch eventually DID change and find the happiness inside him, which, let's say, kind of gave Poppy hope that everyone can change for the better

Now, to the second movie, Twt. Barb. She's what we'll be talking about. Ok, so, in the beginning, all Poppy thought was that Barb wanted the strings for a big party with all the tribes, and she only knew the truth when she saw what Barb did to Symphonyville

You can even see how angry she was at Barb, how she didn't wanna be told she's her best friend

But in the end? Poppy still believed that Barb can change and even threw her her guitar to make her join the party

She helped Barb change for the better, which also added to her beliefs that anyone can change

Moving on to Tbt. I've read a lot of different opinions about Poppy trying to get Branch to reconnect with his brothers, and most of them were that she was still the same old Poppy. And yeah, I agree, but only 50%, though. Like, yeah, she should've understood what Branch has gone through without his brothers, but she also knows how lonely and awful life is without a sibling, so she was trying to help him get better (in her way, yes, but Branch sometimes needs someone to guide him, and I'll be talking about this more in the upcoming Broppy throughout Tbt analysis)

Then later, she leaves the book to Viva, hoping she'll change her mind and join them

Now, here's the thing, Branch and his brothers did not get along as she hoped, but does that mean she lost her faith? Nope, that's Poppy we're talking about. She went to help Branch save Floyd, then ALL his brothers, then Viva JOINED them, then they SANG THE PERFECT FAMILY HARMONY

Things did work out in the end, which, like you should know by now, added to her beliefs that anyone can change for the better

Now, look, Poppy loved him, obviously, it was clear from the beginning. But the thing is that he literally betrayed them

"At least give him a chance." Poppy still wanted to give him a chance to explain himself, she believed that something was wrong, that he wasn't evil

But let's rewind a bit, a lot bit, to the first movie

She's looking at him like he's a stranger, like he's not the Creek she knows

Then slowly realizes he is

And I believe this was one of the reasons she went gray

But in the end of the day? Poppy found her colors, she got over it, she sang and danced again, even though Creek seemed like he wasn't going to go good

I just wanted to end with Creek to say this: even though Poppy knew not all people would change, she still gave them a chance, till it got out of hand, then she starts to stand up to them

clark is so uncomfortable and hates himself for losing his cool and saying anything about the truth. bruce is so genuinely confused and hurt. and clark has to hurt him more. "no, bruce, to me we have been... close friends. a few months ago, end of last year, i for the first time understood that you thought we were more. everyone did."

clark grabs bruce's shoulder. he was trying to pace or flee, clark couldn't guess which. clark didn't want to give bruce a chance to turn away from him before he can say everything he needs to say, to maybe make bruce want to keep what they have. build on it, even.

"i thought i was just sharing my life with my best friend, and hearing that it wasn't that to you and your family shook me up. but it was also very soon clear to me that- that this is what i actually want. i want to share a bed with you as your husband. i want to kiss you goobye, good morning- - i didn't realize i had been in love with you for... i don't know. god knows. maybe before we got married in your mind."

bruce doesn't speak, his troubled thoughts clear on his face. he doesn't have the habit of pulling a mask around clark. he lost it somewhere along the years. the years of the sham.

"i... think you should sleep at your apartment tonight."

"right. yeah," clark replies and let's go of bruce. he can't keep bruce- if bruce doesnt want this. "i hope you... think about what i said." and then, without really knowing what he is apologizing for, he adds: "i'm sorry."

clark walks out of the room and leaves the manor.

Why did Joon posting that song blow up to such an insane degree, but Taehyung mouthing the n-word seems to have made no noise? I’m absolutely not saying I wanted Taehyung to be at the center of a hate campaign, but I’m kind of surprised? If I understood the meaning of the song correctly, Joon really didn’t do anything wrong or offensive at all, but it blew up and was everywhere for days. I saw so many discussions about it on different platforms. But then Taehyung actually DID do something wrong. But it’s just… crickets. I guess I’m just confused? Why did Joon’s thing turn out like it did, but Taehyung seems to have gotten away unscathed?

I just want to say, first of all, that I abhor this sort of ask for two reasons: (1) because it ultimately taps into the incredibly toxic hyper-competitiveness in k-pop, where everything is seen within the lens of comparison and competition - nothing is sacred; and (2) because I'm Black and Korean, and having to explain the intricacies of how this space creates and engages in the sort of prejudice cocktail one uniquely finds here, especially since I've been into k-pop for this long, is annoying and borderline dehumanizing to experience.

But I understand why you asked it. I know you likely bore no malice in asking it and I can see why the stark difference in reactions could be confusing, so I'll use your ask to make a general comment about general fandom dynamics. It's something I've talked about before, when discussing hate and how Jimin doesn't actually get as much hate as a lot of people think, but that he does get huge amounts of certain kinds of hate. I suggest you read that post with this one please, because I won't repeat all I said there, here.

I often talk about the different players in k-pop fandom, how hate can be manufactured, and that various things have influenced previous scandals blowing up. It can get confusing to fully explain, but I'll try not to ramble and will try to outline this methodically somehow, splitting up the factors I think are important into sub-headings.

The Background/Setting

This might not seem obvious at first, but it's important to know what else is happening in k-pop fandom at the time.

In the case of Namjoon's artificial scandal of recommending a Frank Ocean song about Black queer experience, and unrequited love related to religious truama - a song 10s of idols and people had shared before to zero controversy, and a scandal started in a Blinks GC including BTS akgaes (who were Blinks) - the background context was Lisa getting dragged by most of stan twt for an unflattering picture posted on Popbase, Blackpink getting flayed by several k-pop fandoms for not selling out their latest concert venue, and simultaneously NewJeans taking yet another record from Blackpink. This wasn't the catalyst for the hate on Namjoon, but it provided the background noise for why Blinks were so angsty and pissed. All that happened in one day.

You see, before Blinks came after Namjoon, they'd actually gone after NewJeans' fandom in retaliation. A blink hacked the NewJeans Global fanbase following the achievement announcement. Look at the date of that tweet. If you were on Twitter you would've seen "APOLOGIZE TO LISA" trending globally. Well, that's what happened. Bunnies are a much smaller fandom but their group is the top girl group, meaning that fandom dynamics make them an easy target to overwhelm that nobody would care to defend and so their pleas that their fanbase was hacked fell on deaf ears, Blinks easily overran them and practically everything that happened to Namjoon two days later, happened first to NewJeans and their fanbase. But the scandal didn't gain much traction and Blinks were like, raging pissed. I'm talking people screaming in various Twitter spaces mad. Just insane any way you look at it.

Then a day later Namjoon said in a magazine interview that BTS would be returning around 2025. That was the catalyst for the hate. Aside from the additional annoyance for Blinks of BTS, well, BTS-ing, BTS akgaes who were also Blinks, absolutely lost their shit. It might seem like such an innocuous thing, but one thing you'll realize is, a lot of people here are frankly insane. I know I use that word a lot but I actually mean it. Much of what passes for 'discourse' here, is actually fueled by people who are very unstable and cannot manage their emotional reactions to facts outside their control. Such is the perpetual plight of BTS akgaes and one such fact is BTS all saying they intend to return in a few years, and so their attention turned to him and he would've had a hate train sooner or later. It was only blind luck that he shared Bad Religion on Instagram the next day.

To contrast with Tae's situation, Blinks were celebrating various achievements yesterday and today. And so, silly as this might be to say, they were less pissed than they were in the lead up to Namjoon's situation. Also, Blinks and most other shooters were pre-occupied with much juicier drama today, which was the blow-up around Bang Chan's room being suspended. Dives and Stays have been going at it, with Blinks and shooters well in the mix. Scandals sometimes never happen the day of the incident. In fact it's more common for something to happen which an anti or rival fandom notices, keeps away, and then blows up at a more opportune moment - such as during the actual comeback. So it's not like Tae's even in the clear. This could still come back to hurt him (and BTS, because that's how these things always play out), though I doubt it, because of the players.

The Players

The fact is that since Tae started dating Jennie, he has less natural predators within the Blink fandom. He's still hated, just not to same degree he was by that fandom when he accidentally followed Jennie on Instagram a year ago. Also, many Blinks are BTS maknae-line akgaes meaning many Blinks are also taekookers and KTHs. In case anyone was unaware. So Tae is likely never going to get as much umbrage from Blinks as he would from Orbits, for example. But just by being in BTS, he's hated by that fandom.

Rival BTS akgaes are also players here who tried to get the ball rolling on the hate train, but in recent weeks I'd seen sympathy from PJMs towards Tae for his abysmal performance numbers, so not many of them joined in right away. JJKs on the other hand, who have been dealing with a lot of flack for Seven's versions/performance, saw an opportunity to use Tae's gaffe to play off his akgaes and the fandom against other akgaes. ARMYs are a bit stupid, as I've said before, and PJMs are careless, loud, and moronic - they've earned a reputation that makes them easy scapeoats, as I've said before too, so playing those factions off each other was very easy to do.

This all left Black ARMYs, who knew that if this blows up, every BTS member would become a target because of k-pop fandom dynamics, whether that was fair or not, especially for a gaffe like this, to contain this somewhat.

Namjoon does not have the benefit (if I can even call it that) of dating Jennie, his akgaes do overlap with some other fandoms but not Blinks, and his crime was not the sort that was very contagious to other members, so it allowed more akgaes to zero in on him and Blinks to let loose on him.

The Crime

There's no pretty way of saying this, but identity 'crimes' in k-pop fandoms are kind of a bitch and can be tricky to understand. In Tae's case, the fact is that the clips do offer him plausible deniability. I can see how someone could persuade others to think he never mouthed it, though I personally don't buy it. But given the fact that racist charges in particular are very sticky and will be used to target every member, from Jimin to Namjoon even if Tae was the culprit, I can see why the fandom approached it this way.

There's also the very simple fact that a lot of people didn't actually notice that Tae mouthed "nigga". I know the song he was listening to so I know what he said, but I could bet you 40 quid that 80% of the fandom is actually blissfully oblivious. And that's how it usually is with these things. Unless an anti or rival fandom blows it up, it might as well have never happened because few people would've registered that it happened in the first place. And because of (1) the background and (2) the players, it was always unlikely that this could turn into a shit storm today. It could still happen for Tae, but it happening today, in my view at least, was always unlikely.

Namjoon by contrast, had a crime that wasn't even one, but religious sensitivities can be very volatile, and the people who eventually believed he was in error and were fanning the flames, were primarily homophobes and misogynists who justify those beliefs with their religion - in addition to some Muslim fans who perhaps felt genuinely hurt. Not Black ARMYs or Black k-pop stans who have likely dealt with exactly this sort of crime before. I mean, this is k-pop, Shinee and Mamamoo for example, well loved k-pop groups still haven't apologized for doing Blackface and Brownface, they've never even acknowledged it, and yet nobody cares. And so many Black fans unfortunately have a sort of resignation or racism fatigue. In a sense.

One other reason is that, for racist or anti-Black accusations, sometimes other k-pop fandoms could be hesitant to join in and blow up the scandal because they’re aware of their own idols being guilty of the same or much worse, and they know explicitly going after BTS will get ARMYs to drag their faves to filth. It would be something akin to mutually assured destruction but ARMYs would possibly overwhelm with share numbers. Comparatively, accusations around Islamophobia aren’t as common, and so more k-pop fandoms could join in to virtue signal on that basis, and blow it up further knowing ARMYs wouldn’t have equal basis to retaliate towards certain fandoms.

I took my time writing all this for a few reasons. One is because I'm very well aware that there's a narrative in some parts of the fandom that Jimin is hated the most and Tae is hated the least. Again as though this is some kind of competition. And that it's very likely for this to be the talking point in this space filled with Jimin biases, jikook shippers, and Jimin akgaes. Not to call y'all out exactly, it's just the reality as I see it. But like I keep saying, if you're listening to akgaes for most anything, you're being quite stupid because you're guaranteed to be misled. In my opinion. There's a lot more things that influence how things play out here, there's so much more nuance into how various patterns develop, that the simplistic and victimizing arguments offered by that point of view, aren't all that helpful if what you want is to actually understand what's happening here.

I don't hate Tae, and as a Black person, much less a Black person who has lived in Korea with family there, this sort of anti-Blackness, while disappointing no matter where its encountered, even more so since it's from a BTS member in this case, is something many Black people live with.

I understand what you mean I think, and though you say you don't know how to feel right now, I know how I feel: I feel disappointed. Tae mouthing the word on camera, not bothering to show more care around how it could look, indicates to me that it's possible he shows even less care in private i.e. he's possibly comfortable saying the word in private. This could be true or false. And while not the worst thing in the world (I don't for a second think any of the guys are perfect people - it's possible there's a high chance they'd behave like typical Korean men in various situations with all the cultural prejudices and ignorance), it's disappointing that this could still happen in 2023. As you've said, it seemed very unlikely. But then again, unlike some other members, Taehyung himself has never come under fire for this sort of gaffe. Where Joon, Hobi, and Yoongi have been forced to grow in their engagement with Black culture as they're the members that have worked very deeply on hiphop, Tae's always had a bit of a peripheral view. He's never been personally impacted by any of that particular scrutiny, and given what I think his personality is like, I won't be surprised if it never really registered in his mind as something to be cautious about, since he'd never been personally really affected by it. Hence one reason I started out that post by calling him stupid, as harsh as that might sound.

Personally, I never expect perfection from BTS, so while this is disappointing, it does not dramatically impact how I feel about Tae or BTS or Layover a week from now. I listen to a lot of music and a lot of hiphop made by artists who have very likely killed before, so my personal tolerance for 'problematic' artists or things like this could be very different from yours. It's unfortunate that Tae's actions could bring very negative attention to the whole group, and people will have feelings - some people being hurt and other people re-offending in a bid to defend or antagonize him, so I'd suggest trying not to get caught in the crossfire. If you still want to support Tae, that's okay. Personally, I'll be checking out his album and plan to support it with streams and some sales. If you're hurt and want to say that, that's okay too. If you don't feel like supporting his project, that's okay too. Process this in a way where you honour your feelings and beliefs first, based on the facts as you have them. And anyone who tries to make your life difficult about it either way, fuck them. In my opinion.

I figured I would eventually come around to trying these myself. Been thinking about these for a few days and even sketched some out so maybe I'll post the finished products if I can just GET THE PERSPECTIVE RIGHT.

Prompt: What would each of the brothers do if you picked up their weapons out of curiosity?

You approach Raph at the ragged sofa and coffee table where he appears to be cleaning his sais. You take a seat beside him. He has one sai in his hands, cleaning off any smudges with a cloth.

"It sounds silly but it never occurred to me that you'd have to clean them," you say.

He gives an amused huff. "Yeah its actually really important. Splinter says that they are a part of us and we need to take care of them like we would ourselves." You giggle at this comment and Raph purses his lips and looks away because you both know that his brothers aren't known for being cautious and he's the biggest offender of reckless behavior.

He set the sai down on the little coffee table next to the other. You could now see the difference between the one he finished and the one he hadn't started yet. The handle was wrapped in fresh leather strips, the other torn and barely hanging on. The prongs were shiny and clean, the other gray and covered in...dirt? blood? It was hard to tell.

As Raph picked up the dirty one you reached out to grab the clean one.

"Careful cutie, don't stab yerself," he said giving you a gentle side glance. He didn't show it much but he was glad when you would just sit next to him when he was feeling mellow. It made it easy for him to appreciate you.

You held it in your hands and found it was surprisingly heavy for a relatively small weapon. Though smaller than Leo's blade and Donnie staff it was still large in your hands. The handle was long enough to hold with both hands and the center prong must have been at least a foot long. Even clean you could see that the prongs had small indents in them presumably from when he blocks blades or pipes or whatever people swing at him.

You went to wrap your fingers between the prongs the way you've seen him hold it before but it was large and unwieldy that way and when you went to lift it to test its weight balance it slipped from your fingers and flipped towards your feet.

Raph had been keeping an eye on you and as he saw you lose grip he lurched over to catch it before it impaled your limbs somehow. "Waow there, ya gotta be careful. Ya might look good in piercings but try not to get any on accident."

You apologize quickly, your face flushing with embarrassment.

He chuckles and sets them down on the table, "C'mere," he says in a deep but gentle tone, grabbing your wrist and pulling you into his lap. His warm chest behind you, his breath on your ears, his large thighs hugging your hips. You feel so small but ever since the incident, he's always very gentle when handling you.

He reaches forward and takes the clean sai and places the hilt in your hand, wrapping his fingers closed around your fist. "These are larger than humans would use. Splinter crafted it for me."

You wondered how the rat managed to forge anything in the sewers but didn't doubt that he probably had some creative means. You didn't bother to ask, you didn't want to interrupt him. You liked the way his voice rumbled and you could feel the vibrations from it through his chest as you leaned against it.

"Traditionally you aren't supposed to hold them like this," he shifted the sai and with his fingers still cupped around yours he gently held the it with a finger between the prongs the way you had tried a moment ago,"their weight is in the hilt this way and unless you got a strong grip it'll fall right out of yer fingers."

Your face is still blushing but not out of embarrassment anymore. Raph is being so gentle and sharing something that he seems to genuinely care about sharing with you. You knew the boys treasured their weapons but you hadn't realized that it was this meaningful to them.

"Their supposed to be held so that ye can flip 'em around real easy for lots of defensive techniques," he continued releasing your hand from his warm palm to show you how he transitions the sai into different grips. He makes it look so light, his fingers are surprisingly fluid and you gaze at his hands as the blade seems to swim in the air around his palm.

Noticing your awe he smirks and starts doing more stylish transitions flipping the sai around the back of his hand and twirling it between his fingers along the center prong. He's got you entranced.

After a bit more he tosses it up and let's it land point down in the wooden table. You jump a bit when it makes impact having been mesmerized by his dexterous digits. He chuckles again and sets his chin on your head and begins to clean the other.

You sit in silence enjoying each other's company. It was nice not feeling the need to talk.

You didn't get to enjoy the silence for too long when Mikey zipped in on his skateboard with fresh pizza singing, "🎶when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie THAT'S AMORE🎶"

You giggle and take a deep breath. Raph breaths in as well, both of you saying goodbye to the silence with a content sigh. You stand to join the others for dinner and wonder if they will notice your still flush cheeks.

If I came across as snippy or trying to start something, I apologize, I'm barely holding myself together right now. I just saw some of the comments people have made about the situation on your Palestine AU and got frustrated. I want to be sure people have the whole picture, but whenever I try, people shut me down without really listening and blocking me. A guy got my original account deleted for "hate speech" when I posted my story just because they didn't like what I said. That's why I'm staying anon.

The truth is, I have someone over there who's being held in the middle of it all. She went on a school trip a few months ago and was reported missing. My family panicked not knowing what happened, and then a few weeks later all hell broke loose with this war.

My family was furious with Israel, and jumped to the conclusion it was like Russia & Ukraine, but later found out they were trying to take out Hamas, who had taken her and some of her classmates hostage.

No one knows what it's like to have someone over there, and no one seems to try to understand or even care. In their minds, Israel is the big bully and Palestine is the sole victim, but things aren't that black and white. Hell, Israel negotiating for hostage releases is the only reason a couple of her classmates have come home.

Meanwhile, everyone online seems to keep preaching about how Palestine must be free and how they need to stop supporting this war while offering no real alternatives to stopping Hamas, even going so far as to say they are a bunch of freedom fighters who need the support. Sometimes the only options you have are bad ones... But you still have to choose...

I'm not saying what's happening to the innocent people in Palestine isn't a tragedy, or trying to just brush it off, but men who kill without reason cannot be reasoned with. I wouldn't wish this on anyone; knowing those monsters have her is a living hell, and not a day goes by that we don't hope and pray that they'll be stopped, just so my sister can come home.

Sorry for rambling, I just really needed that release. I've said my peace, I promise I won't bother you about it again.

Hey, I completely understand your situation. But we have to admit this is a sensitive topic for many. NOT forbidden, just sensitive. You can expect me to listen to what you have to say and even understand your perspective, but you won't find many people like that when it comes to this topic and that is just what the internet is like. Just because I am understanding you doesn't mean other people are, and they each have their own right to being exhausted with justifications of crimes on any side. If there's anything I've learned it's that pointing fingers in an argument is not going to get anyone anywhere. I am someone who has been trying to hear out both israelis and Palestinians because like anyone else, after oct 7 I wanted to get the whole picture, as you say.

But your entire discussion started with being biased instead of trying to show the whole situation. You started with saying "israel is not the bad guy" but also said "Hamas is a terrorist organization" and I want you to really look at the use of words if you want people to see the "entire picture". Otherwise you ARE going to get shut down. The entire point of starting an argument online is that you first have to claim you've tried to study the complexity thoroughly. Chalking it up to Hamas being a terrorist organization and justifying a genocide is not going to cut that.

I am completely against trying to shut down someone's grief no matter how big or small it is. Everything comes down to the fact that we are all human, we all have feelings and every life matters. I can only send my condolences to the family that's going through this first hand. First of all, if you are actually someone who has been so closely impacted by this, trying to show the 'bigger picture' on the other accounts instead of your own is ALREADY a pretty dangerous thing for you to do, let alone to the art account of a local tribal artist in the north of some little country.

Now I really want you to evaluate your situation. Your family is tensed, is grieving, they are beside themselves with worry. But can you seriously say that as soon as your family found out "oh, Israel is just trying to eradicate a terrorist organization by blowing up the very place where the hostages could potentially be" they were…. okay with it?

I understand what it's like. I understand and I care. I grew UP on the stories of people going missing, people being blown up, people getting martyred in Palestine. Trust me I understand what you are going through.

I will never try to justify what happened to civilians on oct 7. it is horrible. What happened on oct 7 and what has been happening in Palestine for years makes no one but the innocent suffer at the hands of evil powers. But you cannot, with all due respect, try to say you're showing a 'bigger picture' when you clearly failed to mention the entire history.

Everyone living in Israel knows they are, first and foremost, living in an apartheid state. It is not that difficult for anyone mature enough to see the situation around them and look up and research to come to that conclusion. And many Israelis have. And many have left. Because they knew what living being such a place will entail for them.

And keep in mind I am also NOT in support of trying to make any Israelis leave, who have documented proof of any of their ancestors being from that land and/or don't have second citizenship somewhere else in the world. I hold them to the same level of rights as I do Palestinians.

I don't need to get into overcomplicated finger-pointing and yelling. You can look up Israeli soldiers shooting their own hostages in Gaza despite them shouting in Hebrew and holding up white flags. And the army only apologized because they were identified as Israeli citizens. How does that differentiate the Israeli army from Hamas? I don't need to pull up multiple sources or proof provided by the Israelis themselves. They are already everywhere. What I've heard and what I've seen from October seven, I'm seeing more and more of it being done by the Israeli Army. So we need to be really careful trying to call one side a terrorist, because that will automatically mean calling the other side the same. Which is true. In terms of definitions, what's happening in Gaza is blatant terrorism.

If Palestine was an apartheid state, you would see me speaking out against them. If Palestine was a colonizer apartheid and the people stood up to fight back against a powerful army with resources far more than that of them, you would see me calling them freedom fighters, not terrorists. Because I did happen to read a little bit about the international laws. I do happen to be from a family with a history of armed freedom fighters.

So yes, I am incredibly sorry that this is impacting you mentally, I hope you and you family stays safe and united, but if the impact is making you say biased things, it's better to go offline, take a break from social media, and spend this time trying to pray for your family and spending time with them.

I love the video that analyzes William's voice lines bc they really show what kind of father he is. I'm tired of the dedication of him being a lazy wife beater recliner father. And don't twist my words,

He is still abusive.

But I love the depictions of him being a verbal passive aggressive father. he clearly has NPD. He's the type to smile at a kids drawing Infront of them but inside criticize it (and do it out loud if he's in a bad mood)

The lines in pizza sim with Michael are so bittersweet. "You may not recognize me at first but I assure you, it's still me~" he says this like Michael is supposed to be happy to see him again. He's still relishing in nis new form. Michael~ it's me~ your father~ aren't you happy to see me~.

He's the type to wear a mask (literally and emotionally) If he was openly a horrible person, he wouldn't have gotten away with murder so obviously done by him. He's a showman, a con artist. He's a silly fucking goober who has high charisma, mid intelligence and no wisdom.

Michael's only voice line talks to William with such monotone contemp. Like he's unsure what tone to use with his father so he lets his emotions of the events take hold. Then he lets his anger towards him slip. Its this under belly anger. I feel like the Afton's love hiding their pain like that. Let it seep out in that seething tone. They aren't the type to yell at each other. They are the type to think another's pain is funny. how do u think Michael learned that bullying his brother was ok? I don't think William did the same but he never stepped in. I feel like William saw it as "boys being boys" and it was all harmless fun....well his youngest sobs. He has no emotional awareness and I think needing to be the silly dad outweighed actually parenting.

I feel like he was the type to either "be your friend not your parent" or "your a clone of me, act like it." A mix of both. Discipline in the Afton household was far and few I feel like. That's why Elizabeth was so entitled and spoiled.

And people always ask "what about ms.afton? She must have been under his thumb or smth" mmm neh. I like to think she was just as bad. Sometimes both parents suck ass. I feel like he loved his wife. I refuse to think he was overly abusive with her or killed her. (and if he did, he didn't mean to. It would have been a third by his hands accident. just not fazbear/animatronic related) I feel like they got into spats a lot. neither were around for the kids emotionally. Neither truly cared. They just got absorbed in their own things then each other and that's it.

I feel like for a time, William tried to make being a dad his personality (likely to try and copy Henry in a jealous petty contest that only he knew about and was competing in.) Like I run a successful kids entertainment center. I should like. Think about my kids. Or think about what my kids can bring to me. Aka other kids and their parents. With money. to spend at my business. So for a good few years , I feel like he was the dad's dad. Cliche 80's Utah father. (That's why I love the comics i reblogged last night. Him as just like. Like I'm rambling at this point so il cut it off by saying. He was never a good father. He was abusive. But there's other types of abuse. I feel like he was neglectful, self centered, emotionally distant and passive aggressive. Thinking about what his kids could do for him and not what he can do for his kids. He played with them, fed them, did dad things. But emotionally present or caring he was very little. Back handed comments and a fake smile.

And again, a feel like him doing anything dad like was mainly to mimic and copy Henry. He saw Henry as the perfect father so if he took his daughter trick or treating the he has to as well. I do feel like over time William would enjoy being a dad but not for his kids but because it allows him to be a silly goober. He's just a big kid himself. So playing tag, drawing with them, letting Elizabeth dress him up and do tes parties etc I feel like he'd gain his own enjoyment. He just has this wall in his head that he can't just be in the ball pit for ... himself. Im cleaning it. I'm an adult man. I'm working.

Henry: it's been an 2 hours. Unless a kid threw up in it, Cleaning the ball pit shouldn't be this long.

This whole situation began because instead of trying to talk things over with me, you instead chose to cast a stone at me publicly. I’m not unreasonable. I would gladly have clarified anything you were concerned about, whether it be the claims of ableism or concerns about Lulu’s design. Instead, you publicly accused me of being a pedophile, not once, but twice. Which. I won’t lie; is a VERY harsh accusation that shouldn’t have ever been tossed out on a whim. The first was in a comment thread on one of Davis' posts, the other was a public callout post. You cannot downplay it by saying you just wanted to 'spread awareness' and 'let people choose to support me.' All I wanted to do was be left alone, and you wouldn't have it. 

You took my art and made fun of it, called me names, called my partner’s alter names, and tried to make connections to an accusation that wasn’t there to begin with. I have co-workers that follow my SFW account on Twitter. I could have lost my actual job over this. You losing your Twitter account is not comparative to my entire livelihood. You can say you never wanted me to be harassed, but you slandered and insulted me all over Twitter and Tiktok during the entire duration in which this all played out, not to mention all of the posts and videos about me being ableist and treating me like some sort of class traitor.

I only spoke out about it when I was at the end of my rope, which you also mocked and slandered, and thus the harassment continued.

Davis reached out to me about it because after doing his own research, he saw it as unfair that I was being falsely accused of something that could literally ruin my life and career and put my safety in danger.

I didn't ask him to post it, and I certainly wouldn't have asked him to take so much time out of his busy schedule to research and write that entire google doc. All of the accounts he posted there are public socials, all of which have the Lunarsilly moniker attached to them somehow. He's never really talked to me much if at all outside of this situation.

As for the comments made towards people who were clearly against you, entirely unnecessary. If you wanted people to stop and leave you alone then you should have never responded. This stirs the pot and makes more trouble, it also makes you look bad.

I can't convince people to stop attacking you, despite telling them not to come after you in my last tweet about this situation. I can't order Davis to remove your socials from the google doc. All we can simply do is drop the subject and move on.

None of this would have happened if you just came to me first instead of airing out dirty laundry into public places where you were fully aware I was in. Next time you think you've been wronged in some way, instead of acting out, take a step back and breathe. Walk away from the computer/phone and clear your head so you can think straight. That is my absolute best advice to you.

I understand that you're only 15 and probably have some stuff going on at home, and the last thing I want is for anyone to get hurt. Death threats and doxxing are wrong in general, let alone to a teenager, and if you're reading this and have done either of those things to Lunarsilly, I am incredibly ashamed of you.

As for the damage? My alter is traumatized by the claims you've made. My early design of Lunar was never canon. His design belongs to me and I can use it however I please. He is not canon show Lunar.

Speaking of Alters, I want to address the ableism thing.

Once again, all this stress could have been avoided if you’d have just come to me privately on Discord when this was first addressed. I asked you politely to please keep alters of real people from the show avoidant of fronting in the TSBS server. I asked this of you with the knowledge of what was written in the moderator handbook that each moderator must read and follow in TSBS, and had no idea it wasn’t written in the public rules. I will admit fault for not checking that. It was never my intention to come off as ableist towards you nor anyone else.

We didn’t just come up with rules on a whim. We put rules in place to try and keep everyone in the server safe and comfortable, systems and otherwise. Ultimately, the bottom line was that some of the voice actors from the show found discomfort in seeing alters of themselves and their characters in the server, and the business that owns the whole shebang also agreed, and their word is final.

I entirely understand the frustration behind having alters from the show. I have a few of them myself and so does my partner. Yes, they are not their source. But that doesn't prevent the original creators, or actual person from being uncomfortable, much like some alters are uncomfortable with doubles. Everyone's system is different. Mine isn't large. It's not small either, but my alters all do have one thing, a mutual agreement to work together and harmony. If that's something you can't control, then I'd recommend staying out of larger servers such as TSBS.

I was also never obligated to tell you that I'm a system. I don’t exactly go out of my way to make sure every individual who interacts with me is aware of this information about myself. However, if you ever took a moment to look in my discord profile, you would have known. The first line that is on my profile on Discord is “Marshmallow System-DID” and it’s been there this entire time.

All I want is to be left alone. I want this all to finally be dropped so we can move on with our lives. I’m old and tired and simply do not have the time or energy to keep putting towards this situation. Just please, move on and leave me be.

Hey I hadn't realized anyone else had responded to you yet, sorry about that. I'll keep it up since mine was pretty detailed and so it might help answer your question better than the one sentence answers I saw floating around, but I wanted to clarify that I'm not mad at you or accusing you of anything, I was just trying to genuinely offer insight.

I also didn't realize you'd been spammed over this, or that some of the responses were so hostile- when I went back and looked I saw people basically accusing you of saying that PURELY as some sassy "goccha" comment to defend people who enable rape, which is a super bad faith reading and definitely not what was going on looking at the context. I apologize that you're going through all that just for genuinely not understanding.

Sometimes asking questions is hard, especially when other people interpret the question as a STATEMENT instead of a question; but asking anyway and trying to form a genuine understanding, while tough to do, is usually worth it in the long run. I admire that you sought out clarification and to figure out what steps were supposed to occur, even though it's a touchy subject and people are likely to lash out. Asking questions- when it's genuine and not used as a weapon- is never a crime. You should absolutely learn about the world and take in new ideas, and you have a right to that. I hope you continue to ask questions when you have them.

I'VE GOT THE MOVES, A LESTAPPEN STORY.

The both of them wake at the exact same time, each to their own phone ringing.

Max reaches for it sooner than Charles, so he's the first one to hear his agent screaming in his ears.

"I-we what? Who d- Lando? Christ."

At the other side of the bed the same conversation is being held in a mix of English and Italian.

"No we didn't want to co- Cazzo (shit). Non ci credo (I can't believe it). What do we do now?"

They hang up and sigh. The simmetry of their gestures would make them laugh in any other circumstance but they're just too upset to bother.

They look at each other, trying to read the other's mind.

Max is the first one to speak. He knows this is going to affect Charles way more than himself.

"I shouldn't have invited you to that stupid party."

Charles doesn't say a word. The expression on his face is hard to read. He looks as if he wants to speak, but each time his lips part they soon find each other again and no sound comes out.

Max's phone rings once again, breaking the silence.

" It's - uhm, it's Lando. He probably wants to apologize. What do I do?"

"Put him on speaker. I want to hear what he has to say."

His tone is cold and Max doesn't like it one bit. He does as asked.

"Lando. Just so you know, you're on speaker mate, Charles is here listening as well."

"Guys fuck. I'm sorry. Like, really sorry. I didn't mean to post that picture. Shit I wish I never took that at all. Charles I'm - fuck, I don't know what to say. I'll delete it stat."

"Don't. Leave it there."

Max looks at Charles with a frown of confusion on his face.

"Everyone saw that already so what's the point."

"Charles I really am sorry. I wish I d-"

"Yes Lando, you said that already. You wish you hadn't posted that. Still, you did."

"Lando, mate, we appreciate your apologies. Don't do anything. We'll call you back."

With that, Max hangs up and crosses the bed to reach for his boyfriend.

"Hey. Talk to me. Let's analyze the situation together, yes?"

"What's to analyze, Max? Lando outed us. Not that I didn't want to but, shit, I wanted to at least tell my family first?"

"I know schatje, I know. But we can either face it or let it destroy us and I don't honestly want it to affect us more than it should."

"Ferrari is going to hate me."

"Well, I'm sure Marko is somewhere having a heart attack right now. I'm dating a man and that man is Charles Leclerc? Oh he's probably dead by now."

That puts a little smile on Charles' lips.

"How are you so calm about this?"

"I'm not. But I am worried about you more than I am angry about this whole thing."

"I want to see the picture. Did you see it?"

Max shakes his head as he grabs his phone and opens instagram.

"It's on Lando.jpg right?"

"I hope. It's normally just Carlos that ends up on his main."

Charles is hugging Max from behind, his head resting on Max's left shoulder to look at the phone.

The first pic on the post is one of Charles alone, dancing to the music. There's a caption, too. <<He got moves ya know.>>

Typical Lando, really.

Max is scrolling the other pictures but what really captures Charles' attention is the comment section.

Charles kisses him on the head.

"Of course we do, it's us."

"What th- did you known people actually gave us a ship name?"

"A ship name? Like.. Like, Ferragnez?"

"No idea who they are but I guess, yeah."

"Man, if you're going to publicly be my boyfriend you have to learn more about Italy"

Max chuckles at that. It never ceases to amaze him how Charles fused himself with Italy, Italians and all things related.

"I stopped eating pineapple on Pizza, I think that's a start. Anyway, there's plenty of comments about us where they call us Lestappen."

Charles reflects on it for a second.

"Lestappen?"

"Yep."

"I don't like it."

"I do."

"Of course you do, it's your surname basically."

"Someone's jealous."

"I'm not je-shit Max, look at this."

"Is that admin for real?"

"To be fair we did almost forget we were not alone on that podium."

"Schat, you won. I couldn't care less about what others would think. Like I don't right now. I love you and you love me, so fuck everyone else."

"We still need to fix this, tho. Deleting it won't do it, we just need to face it properly."

"You want to schedule an interview or something?"

"They will probably make us do one anyway. But like, we should address it."

"Give me the phone."

Max pulls the phone from Charles' hands and starts to type.

"There you go"
