you and yunho were besties, that much was obvious to the members, staffs, atiny- literally everyone. you two were inseparable ever since you first joined kq. people only thought you two were best friends because of your similar interests, but that was not the case.

I think a lot about how people don't take anything seriously, everything they can use against an artist they will use without really wanting to care about the cause, they just want to drag the artist, they make important things so banal, not that you don't calling attention to an artist when they do something wrong, my point is how this discussion wouldn't exist outside the internet if it weren't for someone famous. Im glad you said this in the reply cause i saw you mention it in the tags and i wanted to make my own post on this. Band Dynamics. Especially in kpop its such a beautiful and special thing. Many groups feel like a found family and its so endearing to see. Idk why its stronger in kpop though. Is it bc they spend a lot of time training together before debut? Bc they share a dorm? Bc they feel like they have to stick together against the company and public scrutiny? A veteran kpop stan might have more insight on this.

I used to really crave that feeling of that tight-knit comradery, and i think a lot of people feel that too. When we do something together, it becomes bigger than you, it becomes easier bc you have ppl to lean on when you need it, and at other times you play the role of the support. That makes it a fulfilling experience, connecting with people at that level.

Most of our work lives are set up in a way that we do it alone and for ourselves, there is no team work in it. E.g: im a student and i cant really sit an exam together with someone else. We want to have connections to share our lives with. There are people we share our social lives with, home life, love life, etc. But maybe we are the most ourselves at our work, at our purpose. When we can set our egos asides and share our creation with someone, thats the closest we can be with another human being. Its a strange relationship bc it might not be friendship, you might never talk outside that context, or ask each other how you’ve been. But it also runs deeper than any friendship can; no one knows you more than the person who witnessed you at your greatest and worst. Maybe thats why group members are in love with each other. They share the biggest struggle and triumph of their lives. Here Maha goes being all Interpersonal Relationships again, but yeah.

“It is a big deal, Hoseok!” You backed out of his grasp, “It’s not okay! I-I’m staring at my boyfriend with another girl and-and millions of people are saying how great you are for each other, showing proof they knew you two were together all along while I just sit back and watch like an idiot!”

You felt like you were being dramatic, but you didn’t care. You were scared.

Hoseok put his face in his hands and shook his head.

“But it’s not real, (y/n). Please believe. I would never do that to you.”

You took deep breaths to try and calm yourself down though they came out uneven and shaky. You finally looked up into J-Hope’s sad and worried eyes as they searched yours for an answer, a reassurance.

You looked to the side, unable to keep his gaze. You sighed.

“Maybe you wouldn’t, Hoseok...” you mumbled quietly, “But I just, I’m not sure anymore.”

He cocked his head, his eyes wide.

“Not sure? Not sure of what, (y/n)?” He tried to reach out to you but put his arms down remembering how forcefully you had pulled out of his grasp.

“I’m not sure...I can do this anymore.”

He froze, taking a step back with a shocked look on his face.

“Wha-what are you saying, (y/n)?” His voice trembled.

“This is too hard... I’m not sure I’m cut out for it,” tears started to fall from your eyes again, “I think... I need some time. I need to take a step back, for at least a little while...”

He looked at you in surprise and sadness.

“What? Like-like a break?”

“Yes,” you responded quietly, “I-I’m sorry, Hoseok.”

“(Y/n), please...” he trailed off. You could see he wanted to pull you to him, comfort you, make you laugh and have everything back to normal again. But he knew it was pointless to try.

You shuffled around the room, grabbing your things that were scattered about and shoving them in your duffle bag you kept at his place.

Hoseok didn’t take his eyes off you.

“You’re-you’re going now?” He squeaked out quietly.

You nodded, wiping you tear stained cheeks and throwing the last bit of your clothes in the bag.

“(Y/n), please,” he repeated, “don’t do this.”

You looked into his eyes and noticed tears welling up in them. In your one year together you had never seen Hoseok cry. He was always so happy and bubbly. This was a new side you knew he didn’t show anyone, and the fact that you were bringing it out of him made you want to drop your bag and run back into his arms to comfort him. But your mind held you back, unable to see anything but that picture from the internet you discovered mere minutes ago.

“When will I hear from you?” He choked out, attempting to hold back his sobs, “When will you be back?”

You reached the bedroom door, duffle bag over your shoulder and looked back at him. He looked small and defeated standing there.

“I don’t know. I-just... I don’t know. Goodbye Hoseok.” And with that you turned out of the room and away from the confused and heartbroken man who had your heart.

You grabbed your phone from the nightstand next to you and dialed one of the members you had become best friends with through J-hope.

“Hello?” A groggy sounding Park Jimin answered after just one ring.

“Hi Jimin...” you said softly, “I’m sorry to call so late.”

You heard him sigh and let out a few grunts as you figured he sat up in his bed.

“You can call me anytime, (y/n), you know that.”

You smiled. You were glad Jimin had decided to remain friends with you despite what happened. Even though he had known Hoseok far longer than you, it made you happy knowing he would still be there for you.

“Can’t sleep again?” He asked.

You shook your head but realized he couldn’t see you, so you simply answered with a no.

Jimin sighed again.

“(Y/n)-ah... why don’t you just talk to him?”

You bit your lip nervously and fiddled with the bedsheet in front of you.

“I just can’t, Minnie...” you mumbled.

“You know, Hobi-hyung is-“

“Ah! No. Please Jimin.” You interrupted him, shutting your eyes tightly.

The two of you had spoken about what happened, and Jimin didn’t blame you for taking some time, but you would never let him mention how Hoseok was coping, afraid it would tear you up even more. You needed a clear mind, not one filled with the image of J-hope being sad, or worse, moving on.

Jimin scoffed.

“You woke me up to talk, remember?” He reminded you.

“Yes, I’m sorry Jimin ssi.”

Maybe it was time to hear how J-hope was after you stepped back from your relationship after all. Maybe it would help you figure out what to do, what you wanted.

You took a deep breath.

“Is he okay, Jimin-ah?” You wondered softly.

You heard Jimin shuffle.

“You really want to know?” He asked cautiously.

“Yes.”

Jimin exhaled and cleared his throat.

“He’s not doing well, (y/n). He’s in his room or studio most of the time when he doesn’t have anything on the schedule. And if he is working, he’s putting in minimal effort, it seems. We haven’t seen him laugh, let alone smile in weeks. He doesn’t make jokes, his dancing lacks passion. He just... isn’t himself. It’s weird, and to be honest, well, we are kind of worried about him. We are out of ideas on how to cheer him up.”

You felt your heart sink to your stomach as tears welled up in your eyes. You couldn’t believe you were the cause of him being like how Jimin described. You never wanted to be the one to take away the well being of everyone’s favorite sunshine.

“Do you at least still care about him (y/n)?” Jimin asked when you hadn’t responded.

You hesitated.

“I-I still love him, Jimin...” you whispered, tears falling from your eyes. And you knew this was true.

“(Y/n) I’ve told you a million times, he was never with her and they hardly even knew each other. I know it’s hard and different than any relationship has ever been, but he adored you so much. Just when we thought Hobi-hyung couldn’t get any brighter, he did when you came into his life. And when you left... just darkness. With the career he has chosen, something like this isn’t guaranteed not to happen again, that’s for sure. But he would never hurt you like that, he loves you too much. With love comes trust, and if you still love him like you say you do, you have to trust him, too.”

By this time you were sobbing, emotions and tiredness taking over. You knew Jimin was right. They scared you, your worries and insecurities, but the way you felt these past couple months without Hoseok scared you more. He was your everything. He boosted you up when you needed it, and made you laugh like no one else could. You missed him immensely.

“I should call him,” you said to Jimin in between sobs.

“No, you should see him in person,” he suggested, “Tomorrow we have some time off. Maybe come by the dorms?”

You took a deep breath, your heart pounding in your chest at the thought of seeing him again.

“Okay, I will.”

“Good. It will be okay, (y/n)-ah, I promise. This is a good thing,” he tried reassuring you, “in the meantime, I have to go back to sleep. You should try to, too.”

You sighed. Sleep now? Yeah right.

“Ok, thank you Jimin. Good night.”

hi can i ask for tips on how to start posting my fics on tumblr?

first, the fact that you want tips from me makes me feel all warm inside like ahhhh? like me??

i think to give the best tips, it really depends on what part of posting fics you struggle with, you know? like is it the confidence to post, or what aesthetic to go for, or how to tag etc. but i’ll just give you some general tips and if you have another question feel completely free to send another ask! <3

first, you just gotta go for it. write something, anything, and be like: you know what, imma post this! we tend to be pretty self critical of our work so even if you think it’s a shitty piece of writing, i highly doubt it.

when it comes to aesthetic, scroll through some of your favourite blogs and take inspo from them. putting three aesthetic images at the top is pretty common and in my opinion, posts that look well put together always look more enticing to read. you can find aesthetic pics on pinterest by searching [insert] aesthetic. you can search by general vibes so like soft or dark, or you can by colour, or even more specific like coffee or angel etc. you can also make banners by using photos from pinterest, editing shape and size and adding stickers of filters on picsart and then adding text on phonto (i also download fonts from dafont).

tagging posts is by far the hardest part of publishing fics. tumblr sure does love to screw content creators over. how to tag fics can also vary depending on the fandom. in kpop you generally want to tag with the idols name or group name and then fluff, angst and/or smut. then just the idol and group. also putting [idol] imagine or drabbles or social media au etc. again just checking your fave blogs and seeing how they tag things will help you

tip for when you tag a post as well, once it’s published, search up one of the tags you put (tumblr normally only acknowledges the first fifteen) and check whether it comes up in recent posts for that tag. if you’re a newer blog then tumblr may think you’re a bot and not show you’re posts so either delete and repost or post some random things over a space of a couple days until they start showing up in tags.

depending on what you plan on writing another important thing to do before you even post is to make a masterlist and some guidelines (this part is more important if you’re gonna write smut). having a masterlist set up means people are able to find your works way easier and having guidelines helps if you ever want to open requests

IMPORTANT REMINDER: you are not required to take requests or write ones that you recieve. if someone sends you a request you are not comfortable with or simply don’t have inspo for or vibe with, you do not have to write it! it is you’re blog and you write what you want. you writing requests is just something extra you are doing and is literally you making personalised content for someone for free so it is not a must.

another important reminder is that it’s also completely ok to take breaks, no matter how long. it’s ok to post one short drabble and not post for another three months, take you’re time, this is a hobby not a job and you should enjoy it, even if writer’s block is kicking your ass (which is also annoyingly common)

to solve writers block or to get general ideas i recommend taking inspo from even the most simple of things in life. like little wholesome moments or just the things you’ve been enjoying recently eg writing about playing your current favourite game against an idol and winning for the fifth time in the row. it’s also fun to switch up the fandoms you write for if you feel like it. i write for kpop, ice hockey and mcyt so there’s really no limit!

if you want to link posts to others, here’s a guide one of my first ever mutuals made me back when i was first getting into fic writing. here’s a guide i just made bc i realised that one is kinda outdated.

that actually brings me onto the point of making fellow writer mutuals can be really great when it comes to posting. having that lil support system of fellow writers to talk to, to bounce ideas off, to collab with, etc can really help!

now, final tip i can currently think of (again send an ask if you need more specific advice) is read fics! i barely read fanfiction nowadays (ok literally not all anymore) but when i was first getting into writing, it really helped. reading how other people write will hands down help you figure out your own style of writing and grow as a writer overtime.

oh that also reminds me, if you take inspo from someone else’s writing, it’s greatly appreciated if you ask the op if you can write something based off their work etc, and also even tag them in the piece. of course this doesn’t apply to general ideas, like there’s probably a million college social media aus, but if it’s something specific, it doesn’t hurt to ask

I go to the store to pick up a sleeping bag and a few other things and I buy snacks because I don't want to come empty-handed. I pack a backpack with clothes and my toiletries. I just continue to watch videos while waiting for Chanyeol.

"Juyeon, you ready?"

"Oh, 오빠, you're here? Let's go!" I grab my stuff and run to the car. He just follows. "You don't need to pack?"

"No, I live there, remember." He laughs. We get there and enter in the dorm because Chanyeol had the key. We head upstairs where the boys were just talking and playing video games.

"Hi Juyeon! I heard yesterday was quite a party." Sehun says knowingly. I glare at Baekhyun and he just shrugs. Chanyeol just gives me a "I-told-you-so" look.

"Yes... it was." I say in a sassy tone. Sleeping bags were already laid out on the floor and snacks were everywhere. I throw over my bag of snacks to the people sitting on the couch.

"고마워!" They say as they open up the bag. I lay out my sleeping bag and just watch them play games.

"Awww... can we do something else other than watch you guys play games?" Kai whines.

"What should we do then?" Chanyeol asks.

"I don't know, you find a game."

"How about we play a game where we each write a punishment, we put it in a bowl and we each have to choose one and do it. Oh, and we'll include king and servant." He says. The boys playing games turn off the TV and bring out a paper, pencils, and a bowl.

"What''s king and servant?" I ask.

"The king gets to tell the servant what to do." I nod and start writing a punishment. I think. Hmm... it would be fun to see someone do a girl group. I write that down and put it in the bowl. The others do too. "주연아, you choose first." Chanyeol said. I take a paper and pass the bowl around. We were sitting in a circle. After everyone chose their papers, I open mine and laugh.

"Who wrote this?" The others looked at me confused.

"What is it?" I show the paper to everyone. 'Do a sexy dance on Juyeon' is what it said.

"Aww... I was hoping I would get that one." Kai said. I give him a weird look.

"You wrote it?" He nods. "Sooo... what am I supposed to do?" I laugh. "I can't really dance on myself."

"Then dance on one of us." Kai says obviously wanting me to dance on him.

"Uh, yeah, no thanks."

"Awww... you're no fun." Baekhyun says.

"You too?" He nods.

"Just like, dance on the chair or table or something." Chanyeol says. I get up to get on the table and Chanyeol just averts his eyes. "I can't watch..." I shrug and begin. There was no music so it was kind of awkward but I just did my best to make it as 'sexy' as possible. I do what most people would consider sexy. I flipped my hair and moved my butt. Chanyeol closed his eyes the whole time but  the others were in awe. After I finished, they clapped.

"Thanks but I don't think I'm that good." They give a thumbs up.

"You were the best. You should definitely do more dancing." Sehun says.

"Okay, let's move on." I laugh at Chanyeol who couldn't look at me. "Oh, it's me." He looks at his paper and looks around. "Who wrote this?! I am NOT doing this."

"But you made the game!"

"What is it?" I ask. I peak over to see what it says. I laugh again. "Hah! Yes, you totally have to do it. Come at me."

"What is it?" Suho asks.

"I know what it is... how come Chanyeol gets it?" Baekhyun says giggling.

"You wrote it? Wh- I- Ho- I'm speechless." Chanyeol says.

"I wanted it... 깹송(kkaepsong)." Baekhyun says sadly.

"Ahhhh... what is it!" Kai whines.

"주연에게 콜하게 고백하세요." I read off. The others look at Chanyeol jealously.

"Do I have to do this?!"

"Yasss... you have to do this! I want to see it!" I say. Chanyeol glares at me. He gets up and grabs me to get up. He grabs his guitar and starts singing.

"I think you're cute, you may think I'm not, my feelings for you couldn't stay mute, I like you. I wanna ask you out on a date, but will you say okay? Meet me at Starbucks next Thursday, I'll wait." He sings trying not to cringe. I clap.

"와... I would totally go out with you if you weren't my cousin." I say.

"I totally could've done better." Baekhyun rolls his eyes and mumbles. He opens his paper and immediately smiles and giggles like his usual self.

"What does it say?" I ask. Chanyeol looks over and rolls his eyes.

"Who keeps on writing these? This is my cousin!"

"What does it say?" I ask again.

"주연에게 섹시하게 고백하세요." Baekhyun reads out excitedly.

"Again? Who keeps on writing these?" I say. Baekhyun gets up and pulls me up with him. He pins me to the wall.

"Hi Juyeon, remember me? Baekhyun?" He says in a raspy voice.

"Uh... yes?" I say feeling helpless.

"Oh, you do? That's good. I hope you remember this too." He gets close to my ear and I could feel his breath. "Beach. You. Me. Next Thursday. 3PM. Got it?" I just nod. "Good." He moves his face from my ear to face me again. He then leans in about to kiss me.

"Cut!" Chanyeol says before he gets too close. I turn away blushing and the others look at Baekhyun jealously.

"So, how'd I do?" Baekhyun asks me.

"Uhh... I think you accomplished the dare but if that's how you ask out a girl... I don't think you'll the most positive responses from me specifically." The others laugh at him.

"Why?"

"Do you remember me?" I mock him. He looks down embarrassed. "I'm definitely going to remember that. Suho 오빠, just open your paper." He opens it and shows it to everyone.

"King? Oooo, you're lucky, you don't have to do a dare." I say jealously. "종인오빠, open yours!"

"Girl group dance... which one? Who wrote this?" I raise my hand.

"역시 the main dancer of the group gets the girl group dance dare." I clap. "Do 살짝 설렜어." I laugh. He gets up sighing and I turn on the music. I probably should've let him learn it first because he danced the feel of the dance but not the actual dance. I sigh getting up and start dancing. He watches me and dances more confidently, copying my moves. I continue to dance and didn't notice Kai stop and watch me. When I finished, I noticed everyone staring at me. "Uhh... how come I'm the one doing your dare?" I look at Kai staring at me. I wave my hand in front of his face. "Hello? You there? 종대 오빠... just open yours." He nods. He whines.

"Servant." He says sadly. 준면오빠 cheers. 경수 opens his paper and laughs.

"A pickup line contest for Juyeon."

"I'll give you a chance to think." I say without giving them a chance to protest.

"Do I have to!" Chanyeol asks.

"Yes! I need to see this!"

"Okay, I'm going first."

"좋아!" I say excitedly.

"I'm no mathematician but I've been told I'm good with numbers. Wanna give me yours to prove it?" He says embarrassed. I clap.

"Totally would NOT give you my number but nice try."

"It's fine... I don't care, I don't want to win this competition...  this is the only competition I don't want to win. It's disgusting."

"I wanna go next!" Sehun raises his hand and puts it down embarrassed after everyone stares at them.

"Sure." I say. "I can't wait to see what our maknae has to say."

"Okay... I'll go." He starts to walk towards me slowly and I move back until I hit the table. He puts his hand next to my body so I couldn't move. "Baby, I'll treat you like my homework. I'll slam you on the table and do you all night." He says staring at me intensely. I try not to laugh and look at hike seriously in the eye. He gets up embarrassed and gives me space. "Our maknae has grown up!" I say laughing. "Also, if that's the only thing you can say in confidence, might as well just do your real homework. You gotta be confident!" I grab his wrist and get in the same position as we were when he said the pickup line. "Okay, now what's your next move?" He stays there frozen, blushing.

"Come on! Just follow your instructions. Slam me down..." I maneuver myself to be flat on the table and I move him on top of me so he's pinning me to the table. "And do me all night. But not me... someone else." He blushes. I stay there waiting for him to get off but he stays there. "Are you not tired? Why don't you like get off so other people have a chance and I don't end up sleeping on the table."

"Oh, sorry." He gets up. I point at him and look at him with stern eyes.

"Confidence. Who's next?" Chen, D.O., Xiumin, Kai, and Suho all try to win me with common and simple pickup lines. Baekhyun walks up to me after they finished.

"My biology teacher told me that the lips are the most sensitive part of the. Wanna try it out?" He gets close again like the last time and I assumed he would stop him but he just kept getting closer until his lips touched mine. I stand there frozen, unsure of what to do. I push him away.

"What are you doing?! (뭐하는거야!)" I say. I look over. No one say it. Chanyeol 오빠 was in rhe bathroom and the others were talking and not paying attention. Arghh...

"I asked if you wanted to try it out!" He said still pinning me to the wall.

omg so many disbanded but my main ones i still high key cry abt are the wonder girls (tho technically they debuted in 2007 and disbanded 2017), 2ne1, sistar, history 💔 the wonder girls were the first kpop group i listened to ever so they hold an incredibly special place in my heart!! (and there's no such thing as asking too many questions! i love answering them 😊)
