as far as he could remember, there were only a few ways to get his knock-knock. asking a mutual friend, coincidentally finding it (jane), or "is this random play video store" (seth), just to name a few. it wasn't easy to just find it. not to mention, this wasn't any of his friends, usual contacts, nor were they a commissioner online. the grey-haired man hums quietly. he isn't sure if he should just accept the request or not. yeah, he gets random messages like this every now and then, but it'd been a good while since the last time, hadn't it? as rude as it sounds, people do know how to read, right?

after astra's concert at starloop, he'd posted on inter-knot that they would be taking a break from taking any commissions for an indefinite time. it's a good thing they'd mentioned the 'timeframe', now phaethon could kick back and lay lower for a while more! manage the video store! do less stressful things! which is what belle said after posting it. who knew that she could jinx it? life felt like a video game this way.

back to that knock-knock request though.. he's staring at it as if it were dreaded paperwork. maybe he could get fairy to do a background check on this person, or he could just accept and talk to them. that's also an option. was wise going to play things safe, or fuck around and find out?

a really great organization that i don't see any posts about here is HEAL palestine. it was founded by steve sosebee, who was a founding president of the PCRF before leaving in late 2023 to refocus his efforts on heal palestine to better meet the needs of palestinians impacted by the genocide. the organization provides palestinians in gaza with food, clean water, shelters, "makeshift classrooms," and even medical evacuation for some children when it's possible--their services are pretty wide.

you can donate here if you would like to send a tax-deductible donation to an organization. also, i don't think any evacuations are possible right now, but if you're in the united states and you'd like to welcome medically evacuated children in the future, i highly recommend signing up for their newsletter or following them on social media so you can stay updated in case any children evacuated by HEAL come to your area for treatment. welcoming these kids at the airport is a really moving way to provide them with moral support, entirely for free.
