i absolutely love the priest/imuri parallels in the sense of how they’re both incapable seeing their own attraction as anything other than monstrous/destructive/harmful, with priest’s issues being sexual and imuri’s romantic. i love how despite being parallels, they’re also technically opposites!

like. priest abhors sexual attraction in most instances, but especially when it comes to his own, and especially when it comes to imuri. he’s meant to protect imuri, and due to both his own sexual trauma and his religious guilt, he sees sexuality and sexual attraction as something inherently harmful and invasive to the person it’s projected onto

he sees his attraction to imuri as a betrayal of her trust in him. as him being a hypocrite for all the times he defended her from others’ sexualization, like he was lying all along and that this is his “true” nature. that he’s just another monster who’s convinced himself he’s actually good and righteous, when he couldn’t be further from it

even though he’s been told multiple times that sexual attraction is perfectly normal, that it’s something normal and human, he’s still unable to get past his internalization and self-hatred

and imuri doesn’t have the same issue. she has no issue with sexuality (obviously, considering who raised her) but she cannot accept romantic (and to an extent platonic) relationships, because she’s convinced that no matter what she does, she’ll lead the other to ruin.

and because of her self-vilification, she’s not even able to accept her full feelings sometimes, because doing so would acknowledge her attraction and therefore “doom” the other

like!!! imuri’s issues with “losing” priest to asmodeus had nothing to do with their bet, not really. but reasoning that her feelings of sadness and disappointment are just down to losing the bet makes it so she doesn’t have to acknowledge that her actual resentment is due to “losing” romantically. she has to rationalize it as the competition, because acknowledging the truth would “doom” priest in her mind

🌳 Would your OC survive for a week on their own in the wilderness?

I think both of them could do it. Jet would be significantly more miserable in those circumstances, while he likes the outdoors he much more prefers having the option of the indoors available as well. But he could manage, he’s a lot smarter and more resourceful than people give him credit for. Honestly it’s not even the worst conditions he’s seen at least he has sunlight and fresh air. But he’d still be pretty miserable and happy to be out of the wilderness at the end of it. Zander loves the outdoors, he loves nature, he’s a pretty smart dude, he could definitely survive. He’d be so proud of himself and never let anybody hear the end of it too-

🥞 Does your OC take proper care of themselves, like getting enough sleep and eating properly?

Zander. Does not. Depends at what point of course but in the present he is barely sleeping, barely eating, he pretty much only remembers to shower and get clean clothes on most days. He is struggling.

Jet however!!! Takes very good care of himself. It helps a lot that he’s following Anastasia’s schedule set for him but even before he was Jet, Gabriel also took pretty good care of himself. Jet goes to bed at a decent time when he’s told to (he’s allowed to stay up in his room but not advised to), he gets up with Anastasia (he’s always the first pet woken up), he’s fed a healthy diet, eats at least two meals a day, he takes good care of his personal hygiene and he exercises regularly. He’s doing very well right now and he feels pretty great.

🤝 Does your OC have someone they want at their side when they are scared? Who?

Zander would stubbornly say no one because he hates letting other people see him scared. But he’s a liar. He wants his boys. Or at least one of his boys. Cathal makes him feel so loved and safe. Wren is very good at calming him down and comforting him. He loves them and he trusts them.

Jet wants Miah of course. He would try to argue that of course he wants Anastasia and it’s true that she can comfort him and make him feel very safe at times, but other times,,,, she’s the one scaring him,,,,, he loves Miah though, and he knows they love him, and they’re one of the only people he feels comfortable enough to drop the guard dog act for and actually allow himself to be scared around. He feels very safe with them and it calms him down a lot when he’s scared.

i’m gonna cry it’s raining right now and i just passed by a family where both parents were without an umbrella but their kid who couldn’t have been older than like 3-4 was proudly holding this GIANT umbrella whose diameter was as tall (if not taller) as the kid. both the parents were getting absolutely drenched but u could tell the kid was just so happy to have an “adult” task and carry the umbrella themselves and i think that sacrifice is what love is all about

so i haven't read the books but i did read the Devil's Minion chapter and this part made me laugh out loud:
