Two idiots walking into the headquarters of a cult that's known for offering human sacrifices to their weird leader.

And for turning his/her/their back on the two idiots for just 10 seconds- Green Lantern might just be the biggest idiot of all.

He/she/they are sprinting down the dingy halls of the old temple, deaf to all other sounds other than the weird speech some old guy is giving (and their raging heartbeat).

The speech started off as nothing more than a faint murmur, like your next-door neighbour’s TV that you can just make out; but as he/she/they dash towards the room at the end of the hall (shoving their way through whatever random members straggle along the halls) it's getting louder and louder.

Behind the closed door, an undercover Robin and Kid Flash are trapped inside a glass box (that looks nothing short of a Jigsaw trap), staring at the old man who’s back is turned to them.

"But do not fret." The man sighs wistfully, turning on his heels to approach the glass box currently holding Robin and Kid Flash. He takes a second to take them in, before he’s turning to the console on his right and pressing a button.

With a soft click, water starts rushing up from the cracks of the floor under their feet.

"Your sacrifice will not be in vain."

Yet before Robin and Kid Flash can even start to panic, the doors are swinging open, and a (extremely dishevelled) undercover Green Lantern is marching towards the cultists with a glowing bat in their hands.

The cultist turns around, nearly jumping out of his skin at the teenager with the glowing bat being swung over his/her/their shoulder.

"How did you-!"

Thunk!

The pair blink at the heaving Green Lantern.

He/she/they are too busy staring down at the unconscious man to make sure he stays down, all while catching his/her/their breath. The energy used to construct the bat slowly starts to disintegrate in his/her/their hands.

KF whistles, and that seems to get him/her/them out of his/her/their trance and moving up to the console to press a couple buttons.

A couple clicks later, and the water starts draining itself, and the ceiling of the box lifts open, and that's all it takes for Green Lantern to hunch over the console to continue catching his/her/their breath.

"Now we know if we ever need a batter-" Robin starts.

"Shut the fuck up." He/she/they wheeze, glaring at the two boys who've finally made their way out the box.

"I... have never... in my life... ever ran that fast... all... because of you... idiots."

Kid Flash blinks at them. "...At least you have a great swing."

"Shut it."

AQ, MG & SUP "M'gann!"

Green Lantern can hear Superboy's voice echo across the warehouse, and the worry in his call is enough to send him/her/them flying towards them, noting the heat radiating from their side of the warehouse as he/she/they approach.

"Is she okay?" Green Lantern yells, dropping down from the air to meet them.

Miss Martian's out cold in Superboy's arms, sweat lining her brow and she's frowning even in her unconscious state. Aqualad's not doing much better either, sat against the wall and his breathing's laboured as he looks up at him/her/them with an unfocused look.

"Miss Martian and I are at our limits- the heat is far too much for us." He mutters as Green Lantern's pulling him to his feet.

"I can't blame you- why is it so hot here anyway?"

There's a sudden sound of metal, and the two standing members are whipping around to stare at a dishevelled, angry mobster who's staring them down with a wide grin.

In his hands, is possible the largest flamethrower he/she/they have ever seen.

"That'll do it."

He's got them cornered, and with one member down and their leader following suit, there's not much they can do.

"I got this." Superboy growls, about to set Miss Martian down before Green Lantern's taking a step away from the group and towards the mobster.

"Screw that- get behind me!"

Green Lantern is bracing him/her/themselves, his/her/their right fist extended and his/her/their left hand at their wrist to support his/her/their arm up as the crazed gangster cocks the oversized flamethrower onto his hip.

He/she/they can see the coil in the barrel of the flamethrower burn a bright orange just before-

...

There's a horrible smell of burnt metal and the sudden silence in the warehouse, and by the large cloud of blackened smoke, the man drops his weapon with a satisfied hum.

But just as he's about to turn around, the smoke clears, and his smile drops.

A green bubble surrounds the four teens, and he can just make out Green Lantern's smirk past the blinding glow of his/her/their ring.

"Crap." Artemis mumbles to herself, looking over her shoulder to her suddenly empty quiver.

Damn-it, she could've sworn she still had at least 5 more left-

She yelps as a large crystal shard lands a hair past her ear, and she's frantically ducking down and crawling towards a nearby truck.

Reaching a hand to her in-ear, she's finds herself with no choice but to call for help.

"I need-!"

Artemis finds herself blinking at Green Lantern, who's staring back at her from where he/she/they are floating in the air.

"What are you doing here?" She asks.

"Was passing through the area when I heard reports of Icicle Jr attacking. Figured I'd check it out." Green Lantern shrugs. "Need help?"

"Something like that." She sighs. "I'm out of arrows."

Green Lantern tilts his/her/their head at her.

"You're out? Already?"

"Yeah." Artemis grumbles from where she's crouched, "I could've sworn I had more-"

"Don't worry, I got this." Green Lantern smiles brightly, offering her a thumbs up.

"Don't tell me you chickened out already!" Icicle Jr. laughs, making his way down the now empty street. "I was just starting to have fun."

"Hey you!"

Icicle Jr whips around, immediately throwing out a shard that Green Lantern blocks easily with an easy wall construct. As he/she/they drop the construct and lets the ice crash to the floor, the two stare each other down for a moment.

"Who the hell are you?" The criminal frowns, tilting his head at the flying teen. "Ain't never seen you 'round here before. Didn't realise even the Lanterns have a sidekick."

He/she/they smile at him, but it's not the cheery, light-hearted smile that Artemis got.

No, it's a smile that has her shivering slightly from where she's hiding- the customer service smile that a cashier gives when they're a second away from jumping across the counter and bash someone's head in.

Artemis is only proving right when his/her/their ring starts to glow, and she watches as what looks like a literal (not actually- it's still made from energy) bazooka assembles in his/her/their hands. Its weight is heavy, evident by the fact that they drop slightly in the air as they place it over their shoulder, and its clear even Icicle Jr. is unsettled.

"Because they don't have a sidekick." He/she/they explain with that creepy smile still painted on their face.

"I'm just the cool one."

It had been around a week since Mizuki stopped responding to Kanade's messages. He'd asked Ena and Mafuyu if they'd received any messages from Mizuki, but neither of them had.

It was starting to concern him since they were basically on almost 24/7 since they had a horrid sleep schedule and barely went to school.

He decided to start in the SEKAI, although when he went to look, there was... A second untitled??

He decided to enter it out of pure curiosity. He was soon greeted with a pink, squishy floor underneath him and tangles of ribbons hanging from a nonexistent sky. Some stray sewing materials and scraps of fabric were strewn about the endless pink floor, along with some toppled-over mannequins.

After a little bit of wandering around the strange new SEKAI, he began to hear.. Crying? It sounded a whole lot like Mizuki..

He walked towards the crying, and eventually it sounded very close when he stood in front of some pink curtains.

➺ IT’S ME AGAINN (you hear that? Crickets..) 

This time I'm coming at you all with a JUICY review of the last book I read.

Twisted Love - Ana Huang

FIRST OF ALL. Let me say I love Ana Huang even more when I realized she has a page in her book AND on her website dedicated to the playlists she made for her books. STOP. I will literally buy any book as long as it has a dedicated playlist. I’m so serious. (Butcher and Blackbird I'm looking at you) 

This book had me cycling through every emotion you are capable of experiencing, and then some. Character development? Chefs kiss. Storyline? Immaculate. SPICE?? Don’t even play with me.

Let’s begin:

“Love. Deep abiding unconditional love. You want it so much you're willing to live for it. You want it so much you'd say yes to anything. Believe anyone. One more favor, one more kind gesture…and maybe, just maybe, they'll give you the love you want so desperately you’d whore yourself out for it” -Alex Volkov.

❥ Overall Story: When our FMC (Ava Chen)’s overly-protective brother decides to pack up and leave for Central America for a year, He asks his best friend Alex Volkov (MMC) to watch over his little sister. Neither party is too happy about this arrangement but Alex begrudgingly agrees. He shortly after moves into Josh’s house while he is away, which just so happens to be the next-door neighbor to Ava. (coincidence? I THINK NOT!) 

Meanwhile, Ava is haunted by her past that she can’t quite remember while Alex remembers his all too well. Driven by revenge from a past family tragedy, Alex spends his time trying to take down the man that caused it, all while “watching over” his best friend's little sister. (BROTHERS BEST FRIEND TROPE AHHH) 

“You are the light to my dark, Sunshine. Without you, I’m lost.”  -Alex Volkov.

❥ Character Analysis: 

➺ Ava: Despite all the challenges Ava, our FMC, has faced, she never lets it dull her shine, and she still chooses to see the good in everything and everyone around her. You cannot help but fall in love with her kind soul and the depth of her character development was so well done that I really felt connected to her thoughts and emotions. She is such a badass FMC and I loved being a part of her self-love journey throughout the book. Her entire story is both tragic and empowering and has definitely left a lasting impression on me as a reader.

➺ Alex: Alright, everyone, buckle up for this one. By now It’s pretty well known that our MMC is a grumpy, possessive, and intimidating character (and may I add, possibly the biggest red flag I've encountered to date) He is your typical egotistical, wealthy CEO, and throughout the book, you learn a lot about his past and why he is the way he is. Let me just clarify, If a real man treated me the way Alex treats our ray of sunshine, Ava, most of the time, he'd find himself immediately blocked—buh-bye!

Alex does reveal a softer side for her, and that's exactly why I found myself drawn to him in this story. It's a classic case of 'he-hates-everyone-but-has-a-soft-spot-for-her,' and I'm here for it.

❥ Romance: The tension portrayed in this book was immaculate and had me crying, screaming, throwing up, etc. It was a total rollercoaster of emotions, with every turn leaving me eagerly anticipating the moment they would finally make a move!! Their chemistry was undeniable and it took every ounce of self-control in me to not annotate literally every line of the book. 

Now be warned if you don't already know this is a very spicy romance novel so although there were only two or three intimate scenes they were vividly detailed and definitely didn't leave anything to the imagination!

Something I greatly admired about this book was that the entire story didn't solely rely on the spice. It was definitely there and added to the story but the real plot was so intriguing and I was constantly sucked in by all the twists, turns, and action happening throughout.

I'm definitely hooked on this series and eager to explore the perspectives of the other characters and delve into their own stories.

HELLO RANDOM GOOD NEWS >:))) Not tf2 related just wanted to rant here! tl;dr - PerhAps I'll be posting digital art here in the upcoming week (FINALLY-) because I may have found my crappy lil drawing pad's charger! :) BUNCHHH of yapping under the cut:

The charging cable for my drawing pad may be returning to me soon, meaning I'll be able to create digital art again (without straining my hand trying to draw on my laptop's mousepad BAHAHA)!

For context, I lost it around.. last year? My drawing pad won't work without it, and I was too lazy/stubborn to purchase another one. Anytime I've been digitally drawing has been using my laptop's mousepad (which is a long and tedious process, and my wrist has paid for it BAHAHAJAH). I had a sneaking suspicion that my father accidentally took my charger mistaking it for one of his. Apparently I was right, because I just brought it up with him again - he said he had recently organised some cables at his place, including one that matches the description of my drawing pad's cable. So yeah!! Next time he visits, I will have acquired The Cable, meaning I'll BE ABLE TO DIGITALLY DRAW PROPERLY AND MORE NATURALLY AND QUICKLY AGAINN A AAND AAAfhdiuk I'm so excited! :] Hopefully it's the right one, I'm sure it is.. hopefully.... fjghriilhfr

Kai actually shows his soft side with you again just like it was before your death but only when you sleep. He still sees it as a weakness of himself so he’s not that embarrased when you can’t see it. Being nearby, guarding you of possible intruders, silently covering you with his cape that can be used as a blanket when you’re cold or fix it when it slid, soothing you if you have troubled sleep. In days of old people used to perseive sleep as a little death, and you appears to be so serene he fears you’re gone again. It’s just reminds him how you looked so peaceful when you died back then he even mistook it for a sleep for a moment

I mean I don’t mind all of it when I’m awake too :< C’mon general, I’m sorry I hurt you, you can hug me I won’t tell anyone

If you have a female body and your period came and even worse it’s painful you freaked Kai out. When he first saw you laying scrunched in pain and there’s a strong blood smell he almost lost his mind because here we go againn or what the hell is happening💀💀die agan in front of me and I’ll kill you myself

Him being traumatised of human women biology but full of respect to them. I mean he’s an ex warlord, he is aware of how life-treatening blood loss can be. And you have to have it for the most of your life every month for nearly a week? It can’t be stopped and you’re still alive?? You’re still weak in fights but you’re badass

Yes! Kai would still be shaken over your 'death', though he wouldn't let himself show it while you're awake- but he's definitely watching you sleep, making sure you're still breathing at an even rate, occasionally even placing his hoof on your chest to make sure your heart's still beating.

I think Kai wouldn't understand the menstrual cycle (I mean heifers and other femal animals he knows of don't have periods) but once you explain it to him, explain that it's not life threatening, he'll relax. It's no where near as bad as calving, but he does have a newfound bit of respect for you for enduring that much blood loss and pain without (much) complaint. He's going to try to care for you through it as best as he can, trying to find you soothing teas and anything else that might help with the discomfort. He also tries to find something to help "staunch the bleeding" (man is not shy at all about it, once he understands somewhat, to him it's just anatomy, he's seen so much worse). Kai would definitely find it strange, though, but again, the fact you actually bear it really makes Kai see you with some respect.

15. How long does an average piece take you to complete?

oof i mean it depends,, if we're talking about rendered piece but without background (guy who never draws backgrounds says) i'd say at least 2 days? sometimes pieces are lost in wips limbo and i pick them up again like a week later but i won't count that time. Also usually they're lost forever :')

27. For digital artists: how many layers does a typical piece require?

againn it depends but i have a lot fdhgjs It's less than before because i try to have my main colors and rendering in like 4 layers max at first but then i go over them again with more layers. It's messy and it depends a lot on the piece cause I just do whatever really. i put my layers in folders and all folders in one big folders so at the end i can copy it and merge everything to do the final touches. I think on average it's like 30 maybe 50 max? I looked at my latest yu piece which as a lot of effect layers and took a long time to make, the highest number i could see was like 58 but i merged some of them and some are invisible cause they're sketches or references idk if those count or not
