God, if you told me a month ago I would be knee-deep in a Grantaire and subsequently Grantaire/Enjolras and subsequently Enjolras obsession.....

my mom (set designer) just got a call from a guy being like 'I'm working on an opera for the Municipal Theatre (huge theatre) and we want to do a big showstopping set for it, have you seen Les Miserables?'

#it was funny #she got out of the call and was like ok so explain it to me.#I explained the principle of the revolve and the smoke lights and shadows to her and she was like #DO YOU KNOW HOW EXPENSIVE IT WOULD BE TO MAKE A TURNTABLE IN THERE. WITH PEOPLE ON TOP.#'calm down mom I am getting to the workable parts. I'm just excited to explain the cooler part of the set'#'he said something about 'a barricade'?' 'yeah yeah so it's the city of Paris first and then it move like this [gestures with my hands]#it's made of pieces of wood and it's climbable you know and then it goes on the revolve and it spins around for certain scenes'#I showed her video of it #and she was like. but this is still way too expensive 🥺#I was still MOM I'M GETTING TO IT.#anyway I told her how the new version works and that this is probably within budget. But I wanted to explain the cooler version first. mom.

Remember when I said I swear I wasn't trying to drag out posting all the videos I took in Phoenix during the Teeth of God tour? 😅 Yeah, me too.

Like the description states, I almost decided against uploading this one altogether because of the angle and lighting. I eventually decided to because of a conversation I had with @autumns-veil about the lighting specifically during this song from the Teeth of God tour. Anyone lucky enough to make barricade in front of Vessel can attest to this, I'm certain; the lighting framed him in such a way that it felt like it was just you and Vessel in the venue together, despite being pressed up against 7 other people in the crowd and face to face with the security.

Whoever programed the lights, specifically for this song, deserves everything good in the world; a raise, awards, a good night's sleep.

I went as Enjolras to a con today and more people than I expected recognised the cosplay! Also a guy not only recognised it but also approached me and started singing One Day More and we sung it together 😭 Les Mis nation we're out there!!
