The doors slammed shut behind them. 

“I can’t believe that just happened,” Hermione breathed.

Sirius turned and began to walk away. 

“Sirius, wait!” 

He kept going.

“Padfoot,” she hissed.

Sirius froze. He spun around and pinned the witch – his betrothed – with wide eyes.

“Please, don’t run off.”

He grabbed her hand and tugged her through the house. He shoved her into a closet and slipped in behind her. A magical light floated above them.

“A closet?”

“No one ever goes in the closet,” Sirius returned. “We have house elves for that.”

Hermione’s head tilted. “Clever.”

“Not the only thing I am, sweetheart. But something tells me you know that?”

“Don’t call me sweetheart. And yes. Sort of. I’m from the future.”

“I know. But I didn’t know you knew me. God, don’t tell me you’re my daughter. That’s fucked up even by our standards.”

“Ew! No. I’m a muggle-born.”

Sirius stared at her. “Does my grandfather know that?”

She shrugged. “I don’t know. Alphard said they’re going to claim I’m the daughter of a pureblood squib. I don’t know much beyond that.”

His head cocked to the side. “Huh. We knew each other?”

She nodded.

Sirius’ eyes narrowed. “You called me Padfoot.”

“Padfoot, Moony, Prongs… Wormtail. We had the map at one point.”

His lips twitched in amusement. “We?”

“Me and my best friends. Ron Weasley and… Harry Potter.”

Sirius’ grey eyes flickered. “Interesting. I can’t get you home.”

Hermione sighed. “I know. I didn’t ask for this. I never would have said that line if I knew it would have ended here.”

Sirius frowned at that. “Line?”

“In genere providit pudicitiam tutandam esse, eique omnino gratuita.”

His eyes widened. “Who taught you that?”

She raised her eyebrows at him. “You did. You told me to use it if I ever fell back in time.”

“I- what?” Sirius shook his head. “Did I say anything else?”

“Just to use that. Oh! The crest.”

“Crest?”

“This one. Here, on your arm.” She touched his forearm where she knew the tattoo was hidden beneath his robes. “It was your first tattoo. You were ten. You have it, right? And a few others. There was a paw print and leaves. Lots of flowers.”

Sirius stared at her with wide eyes. “You can see my tattoos.”

“Yes.”

He leaned closer. “You have no idea what that means, do you?”

She looked up at him with wide eyes. “What does it mean?”

Sirius kissed her. Hermione squeaked in shock. He pulled back and stared into her wide brown eyes. Sirius opened the closet door and fled.

Why do you think did Curly let Jimmy go before the crash? I've seen the theory Curly briefly thought about crashing too but didn't expect Jimmy to go through with it

I generally believe it was shock and a bit of denial.

It’s the sort of thing where Curly knew Jimmy enough to know he blows up at things but he never would’ve expected him to go through with something so crazy. He gives Jimmy way too much benefit. It’s just his nature and the dynamics he has with Jimmy. They have a stable relationship as friends but it’s stabilized by the unhealthy toxic aspects that keep him in it. He’s like this with Anya, taking the gun is something he really shouldn’t have kept off the record, so is Swansea’s feigned hostility toward Daisuke. He doesn’t want to get people in trouble and doesn’t want to believe anyone would cause trouble other than to themselves. He’s a very lenient man.

I think the words were hollow in his head. Said but not really meant like all the times Jimmy lashes out and says something cruel to him or others. He never means it, if he did why would he still be Curly’s friend? Curly’s head wasn’t in the right space in that moment, he just got through panicking with Anya and if the sound design is anything to go by, was panicked and preoccupied going to confront Jimmy. I mean, the flash of the warning signs before he runs back are identical to the dissociative episode of sort he has when going to talk to Jimmy to do his Psyc eval.

There is this sort of assumption in fanon that Curly was the idealic person for the job and simply failed. None of them were the idealic people to be there, it’s Curly’s entire concern with the ladder he chose. I see more interpretations of him being purposefully ignorant where I see him as just always looking the wrong way or not in a place where he can see it. There’s something different about seeing something than being told about it in the human mind. It may just be the psych student in me but Curly def has some sort of cognitive dissonance just like Jimmy but when it comes to his role as a Captain vs who he is.

They blur in his head to where if you ask him if he was acting as a Captain or a friend or himself to his crew he couldn’t answer. Not with confidence even if he did. There are many times we see that Curly himself is not in the right headspace to lead the Tulpar and that’s outside of anything with Jimmy. He’s spacey, he’s not sleeping, he’s deeply unhappy with himself and life. It’s why there’s believability he crashed the ship. Maybe the others saw it, or maybe Jimmy heard enough of it to spin it in a way that made Curly seem suicidally depressed.

So the tdlr is I think it wasn’t so much letting Jimmy go, more so not seeing the severity of what he was allowing to transpire. In his mind it’s just another one of Jimmy’s bluffs, cruel words, off words but just words. Jimmy rarely ever acts, why would he now? Maybe he’s never seen it because Jimmy hides those actions? Either way, he just never thought he’d really do it.

I think the reason people thought sam x danny felt "Forced" wasn't because it "came out of nowhere", but more that the show talked about it so much throughout all three seasons that it was basically shoving your nose into the mess you made on the floor every chance it got.

It wouldn't be as bad if, say, Danny and Sam has more genuine moments together. To their credit, there are a few- but when you're writing romance (esp if he was a boy, she was a girl- can I make it anymore obvious?) people WILL tell if you're only forcing them together because a show needs a romance subplot, and not because they actually complete each other.

What makes ships like GrayGhost (Valerie x Danny) interesting is that these two characters have a very complex and layered relationship with one another. Val starts off a bit standoffish to the trio when she was still a popular girl, but starts warming up to Danny after she's let go. THEN you have the whole other layer of huntress!Val vs Danny Phantom that makes it extra sticky.

Its GREAT because we as the audience were able to see their dynamic constantly growing and changing before the prospects of romance was even brought up a few episodes later.

With Sam and Danny, it was always "Ha ha these two like each other!!"

...Why? Why do they like each other? Because they're hormonal teenagers and Sam is the only girl Danny knows besides his own sister? Because when you put it like THAT, it doesn't sound as good now does it? Making two characters blush randomly isn't enough. We need to actually KNOW what qualities they value in one another.

Then you have the whole aspect of "Sam is more attracted to Danny PHANTOM than Danny FENTON contextually" -- which COULD have been interesting if they actually approached the idealization Sam had towards Phantom while completely disregarding Danny as a whole person. Like if thats the path they took with the ship, I'd be totally into it. But no, with them getting canned when they did, they kinda just brushed that aspect under the rug, never to be seen again.

This isn't me bashing Sam x Danny as a concept, I think it had a LOT of potential that was fumbled by the fact that Sam herself was barely allowed to even act like a real person. Butch wanted her to be goth Louis Lane and thats all he wrote!!

No one else holds a candle to these two truly, not even close, but I love Penelope and Odysseus, Lancelot and Guinevere, Hector and Andromache, Orpheus and Eurydice if they can be considered a ship at all given they're more structure than meat, Otacon and Snake, Han and Leia, whatever Cyrano/Roxane/Christian have going on, Rhett and Scarlett but also whatever Rhett/Scarlett/Ashley/Melanie have, Henry and Fanny, Obi and Shirayuki, Red and Blue/Green, Razumikhin/Dunya/Svidrigailov, Fermín/Ana/Víctor-Álvaro maybe, Kalpas and Sakura perhaps, Dong Mae and Ae Shin I guess, Ijichi and Gojo but also Gojo and Utahime, though these two are newish and probably I should not include them. I don't even know if I would say I ship many of these things, mostly I find the dynamics interesting.

First ship: hmmm I'm not sure. Perhaps Han and Leia when I was nine? Although I got into Star Wars for Anakin and Padmé. I remember having a lot of feelings about Zuko and Katara when I first watched Avatar when I was twelve. Although thinking back it may have been Red/Blue or Otacon/Snake/Meryl, or even Frank/Naomi, back when I was between 5-9 yo.

Last song: I can't recall. Perhaps Blue from Cowboy Bebop? Or Inkpot gods by Amazing Devil. They're actually both linked to the sunrises fic, which is why I listen to them.

Last film: For a few dollars more, again xD

Currently reading: I'm rereading On the Infinite Universe and Worlds by Giordano Bruno. Also comparing two editions of Cantor's Mathematical works, which I don't know if it counts even if it implies reading. Oh and Jujutsu Kaisen! This time steadily, in order, from beginning to end. I'm always taken aback by how much I care about this thing and its characters.

Currently watching: Cowboy Bebop! We're almost done with that, though. I guess you could argue I am also still watching Jujutsu Kaisen, even if I haven't watched an episode since last August. I think I'll give it another try soon. I suck at watching stuff.

Currently consuming: nothing. I have water with me, but nothing. My time or my life, I guess, in a broad sense.

You get marchil so much you truly do. The way they mesh, the way their views on mortality clash and both soothe & bruise… He doesn’t have much time left even in best case scenario (which Mr I won’t eat well I’ll drink and smoke a lot I’ll stress all day every day is determined to not make happen) which makes it all the more meaningful for Marcille’s arc when she learns from him to finally enjoy the present moments… It’ll only be a fraction of her life, but to him he’s giving her the rest of his life. What are some decades of love worth? Worth it, surely, if nothing else

hello, lu fandom. i've got... a thought experiment? i suppose?

the short explanation is that i'm outlining a fic where the chain defeats dink in post-totk hyrule but no portals arrive to take them home, so they're just stuck in wild's era forever. i want to have at least one of the chain form a new relationship in the botw era (besides wild, who will be with flora), but i'm having trouble thinking of who would be interested in who.
