I follow the path you choose: now this one is THE most ambitious one. Why? Because it's a choose your own adverture fic with 16 different endings, each story line being between 7k and 17k. I wrote it as a birthday gift for myself and it surw was self indulgent

49. Nightfall

The rendezvous time had been dusk.

Kallus had waited patiently for the first hour. Rebellion was rarely on schedule; there were too many problems requiring fixes on the fly. They’d made radio contact on entering the atmosphere, checking in. But as nightfall crawled across the moon of Stryx, it brought out the kind of predators that blasters couldn’t push back. He should leave. His contact could have been compromised, tracked by the Empire. He could be dead out in the thick, dark woods. In the interest of self-preservation, Kallus should make his way back to the Chimaera and resume his daily routine before someone spotted the inconsistency.

Despite all of these very pressing threats to his continued existence, Kallus waited. Because if their roles were reversed, he knew Zeb would wait for him.
