Writing a thesis
Ford x Reader
words: 1,968
tags: nsfw, they have sex in this, cockwarming
a/n: i usually try to write the reader as gn as possible but in here they're going to have a vagina, sorry:/
Tumblr media
You and Ford both sat in his lab, him busy on whatever he was researching now and you busy doing some reading for your thesis. You were somehow massively behind schedule, even though Stanford Pines was your study buddy. Then again, of course you were when he regularly said things like he did today.
"Ugh, I can't focus! I need to be inside you." He turned his chair to face you. "Please?" Without looking up from your literature you answered him. "Love, that hasn't worked once and I really need to get something done today."
He rolled his chair over to you, virtually begging you to look at him. "We don't need to have sex. I just want to be inside you." This managed to pull your eyes out of your book and onto him. "What, like cockwarming? How would that help?"
Ford's eyes were hopeful and pleading. "We'd both get what we want? I'd get to be inside you and you'd get to keep working." You pondered this for a moment. If this would get him to be quiet it could be worth a shot.
Plus, there surely wouldn't be any negative repercussions of conditioning yourself to only be able to work on your thesis while you had Ford's dick filling you up. Surely.
You squinted at him. "Under one condition: You don't move inside me until I am done with this book. That's the very least I need to get done today and if you mess this up then I'm afraid I won't be able to be around you while I write this thing anymore."
Ford's eyes were big as he nodded eagerly. "I won't, I promise." You sighed. "Alright. Okay, so first things first. I want you to grab a blanket. It is too cold down here. I won't be able to sit here without pants and without a blanket."
He quickly stood up and went to grab a blanket out of one of the many cabinets in his lab. While he was doing that, you moved all your stuff to his desk as you would be sharing it for the next while.
Ford spread the blanket out on his chair. "Okay, pants off." You commanded and he quickly did as he was told. His dick was already rock hard and you could feel yourself clench around nothing in anticipation.
"Sit down." You told him as you got rid of your own pants. "And get comfortable. You'll be sitting there for a while." Ford gulped audibly. He was so needy already, even without words.
"Are you ready?" You asked him as you moved to straddle Ford, your back to him. His hands found your hip, guiding you towards his crotch. "Yes, I am."
You lined yourself up with his cock and slowly let yourself sink onto it, feeling him stretch you out in the way you loved so much. You moaned when you reached the end, feeling him fully inside you. Ford groaned behind you as well, already enjoying this a little bit too much for your liking.
After a moment of adjusting yourself to his size and relaxing around it you grabbed the sides of the blanket and wrapped them around your legs and exposed middle. In another swift movement you pulled your chair closer to the desk and opened your book back up.
Ford still breathed heavily behind you while also twitching pathetically inside you. You hadn't even done anything interesting yet. With his hands still on your hip holding you tight he tried to buck up once, making you gasp.
With a sharp tone in your voice you reminded him. "What did I say about not moving inside me?" You heard Ford whimper behind you, muttering a half-hearted apology. "Don't do that again," you grumbled as you turned back to your work.
The book had already been boring as hell when you started reading it, but now with Ford's cock pulsing inside you it took you twice as long to read it. After a few pages you could feel yourself starting to clench around him, your body betraying you in a desperate attempt to achieve some form of relief.
Ford just winced silently with every move of your muscles or anytime you shifted ever so slightly. But he held his promise. No more movement from him. He also kept mostly quiet. Ideal working conditions if it weren't for the fact that you were slowly starting to lose your mind.
His dick just felt so good inside you, already touching all the right spots, it just wasn't enough. You wanted to ride him until it was all you could think about. There was also a slightly wet spot starting to pool in your seat on your boyfriend, a mix of both of your fluids. Best not to think about it.
You turned the page of your book again, taking notes. Although, by now your notes were riddled with more references to your current position that you'd like. Scribbled beneath the lines of important texts were words like 'deeper', 'oh god' and 'can't think - dick too good' in an almost frantic handwriting.
By the third time you read the paragraph you were currently stuck at you clenched around him again, accidentally and quite strongly. Ford moaned behind you, digging all his twelve fingers into your hip. You hissed and pressed your eyes shut as he pushed you deeper onto himself.
After a moment he loosened his grip a little again. Breathless, he asked: "How many pages left?" You looked at your book, dreading the answer yourself. "About thirty." Ford just groaned in response. You turned your focus back on your book, determined to finish this as quickly as possible.
About twenty-five pages and a few more self-inflicted distractions later, you were so close to achieving your goal for the day. You were also so close to losing all control. The blanket was disgustingly wet where it touched your middle and Ford's cock was still twitching inside you.
Ford himself had started to softly caress your thighs as if his own weren't trembling beneath you, essentially turning his dick into a vibrator.
You turned the page again. "Just three more..." You barely got the words out, totally lost in the sensations. Ford whimpered in response, not trusting his voice at all.
When Ford heard you turn the page again, indicating that you were on the last one he decided to do something that would definitely make you mad at him. He moved one of his hands from your thigh to your middle, quickly finding your clit and putting pressure on it with his index finger.
Your already incredibly sensitive organ fired all kinds of reactions up to your brain, making you roll your eyes back and falling backwards into Ford's chest with a loud moan.
The movement on his cock made him wince but he still started to rub slow circles on your clit. Your entire body started shaking, the pleasure already too much for you. "F-ford... I'm not- nghh... not done yet." You were barely able to get the words out between heavy breaths and moans.
And even though it took all his strength to keep the statement true, he responded cockily: "And I'm not moving inside you." You wanted to be mad and glare at him, but you were so lost in his finger on and his dick inside you that your vision started to blur.
Your body now seemingly acting on its own started to grind against Ford's finger, making you also grind deeper onto his cock, chasing your own release. Ford's breath was hot and heavy in your neck as you could only lean against him for support.
He increased the pace on his finger a little, bringing you to the brink of your orgasm and then pulled his finger away, leaving you breathless and grinding against nothing. Well, his cock and nothing. "Wha... Ford, you ca... you can't stop."
"I have to. You haven't finished your book." He wanted to still sound cocky but his own voice was breathless and a needy beg to do it quickly.
It took you a moment to gather yourself, coming down from the brink of your orgasm with his dick still twitching inside you was no easy task. You clenched around him a couple of times, more or less deliberately. Ford whined your name behind you. "Please... read quickly."
You slowly sat back upright, making both of you moan at the movement. Your eyes found your book and tried desperately to focus on it but the words were still slightly blurry. A few deep breaths later you could read again.
A few minutes later you were done and closed the book shut. The noise made Ford open his eyes again, waiting for your signal. "I'm done." With that his hand shot to your middle again.
He let one finger poke underneath you to the spot your bodies were connected, feeling around your entrance. "God, you take me so well..." You whimpered and Ford traced the finger back up to your clit, resuming his previous endeavor.
You let your eyes roll back again and held onto the desk for support. "Ford... please." Ford hummed in your ear. "Yes... come for me. I want to feel you on my cock." You moaned loudly, letting him coax you to the edge again.
"Yes, Ford! I-I'm gonna..." You moved your hips against his hand again, the steady rhythm of his finger getting you to the brink of your orgasm again. "Yes! Yes!" Ford could feel you clenching around him strongly, your orgasm setting in, which Ford used to buck up hard, causing him to spill into you immediately.
You saw stars as your body shook and clenched and twitched all without your permission, the pleasure of your orgasm crashing into you like a giant wave. Meanwhile, it kept Ford hard and groaning as he came down from his own high.
You hadn't even come down from it yourself as you felt Ford buck up into you again, his finger still drawing excruciating circles on your clit. "Come on, you can go again. I know you can." Ford's deep voice said from behind you.
You tried to lift yourself off him ever so slightly, but your legs immediately gave out, causing you to crash back down onto him and both of you to moan loudly. Luckily, Ford picked up the pieces and continued bucking up and drawing circles like his life depended on it.
The needy moans and wet sounds your bodies made rang out through the entire lab and Ford mentally thanked himself for having soundproofed this area of the house.
Ford's rhythm became erratic as he panted into your ear. "Won't last... much... longer." And one thrust later he spilled into you again. "Ford... please don't- ngh. Don't stop."
Even though he was fully spent he couldn't deny you now. He managed a few more pathetic thrusts as he put more pressure on your clit, sending you over the edge again. Ford held your shaking form as you rode it out on him, both of you red-faced and panting.
As you came down you could feel his dick going limp inside you and you pushed yourself off of him on shaky legs. You managed just enough to pull him out and sit back down on his legs, the blanket around you both preventing you from going any further.
You felt his sperm drip out of you and onto his legs but neither of you cared, too busy trying to catch your breaths.
You let your body fall onto the desk. "Ford?" His hand reached up to your back and he hummed in acknowledgement. "I love you." He chuckled lightly, his voice still breathy. "I love you, too."

“Breathe,” your mother reminded you gently.
Easy for her to say, she wasn’t the one suspended in a middle-split between two rocks over a stream. Regardless, you did as she asked, feeling the air move in and out of your lungs and the sweat forming on your temple.
“The key is concentration–balance,” her voice came from the bank to your right.
Most of what she said you already knew having been doing this for years, but you didn’t mind.
In and out your breaths went, eyes closed, relying only on your hearing until you felt your mother’s presence hovering next to you.
Peaking your eyes open, she stood on a nearby rock smiling down at you.
“Very good,” she nodded, offering you a hand to help you up.
“Thank you,” you exhaled, stretching out your legs a bit after so long in your previous position.
Your mother smoothed your hair back before leading you across the stream and back onto the land where you promptly shoved on your shoes.
The two of you chatted beneath the warm sun and cool breeze all the way back to your house. Though even before entering, you heard voices coming from within.
You shared a look of confusion with your mother.
That was odd, your father should be the only one home at the moment.
You gently pushed the door open and followed the voices to your living room where you saw your father in a deep conversation with an older man.
“Wu!” Your mother chirped, rounding you to greet the stranger.
The old’s eyes crinkled as he smiled beneath his long wispy white beard. Your mother bowed slightly as a sign of respect, and you thought it only best to do the same.
Eventually, you all sat around the living room, each nursing a steaming cup of tea.
“What do we owe this visit?” Your mother asked kindly. Apparently your parents and Master Wu went way back. They learned all they knew from the man himself, which then trickled down to you.
Wu took a sip of tea before answering. “I wish to offer your daughter a job.”
All eyes moved to you.
A job? What kind of job?
Your back straightened slightly at all the attention. “Sir?”
Wu sighed wearily, “I have realized I may need more help than I currently have. Upon opening a tea shop, I have less and less time to teach my students.” He swirled his tea twice before his eyes set upon you. “Would you be open to helping out?”
“Oh, uh… your students are?” You trailed off.
“The ninja, dear,” your mother filled in gently.
Oh. The ninja? What could you possibly teach the ninja? Sure, martial arts was nothing new, and yeah you were trained in combat thanks to your father, but they had elemental powers for heaven's sake.
“I’m not sure how much help I could be,” you answered sheepishly.
“You do not need special abilities to teach,” Wu smiled. “And I fear the elements are why I am seeking this help in the first place. It appears my students are disregarding their training for their elemental powers.”
That made sense. Whenever you got frustrated while training with your father he always reminded you you didn’t need flashy powers to be strong. Because while they may be useful, there’s always a chance they can vanish, and then what?
Eventually you made up your mind. “Okay, I’ll do it.” You quickly looked to your parents, “If that’s alright with you?”
“Of course,” your mother wrapped her arms around you. “We know you’re in safe hands with Wu. Just promise you’ll call?”
“Of course,” you assured her as your father also joined in on saying goodbye.
Before long you were packed with enough things to last a few weeks. You might have to repeat some outfits for a while since the duration of your stay wasn’t specified. But you always had money you could spend on clothes.
“How do we get there?” You asked Master Wu after he informed you he and his students were residing at his tea shop, Steep Wisdom.
He glanced at you out the corner of his, and you just caught the glint of a smirk beneath his beard before golden particles started to form in front of you.
From those particles, something even greater arose. A dragon.
Your mouth gaped open. Wu laughed before tossing your luggage on top of the large white and gold dragon that had just materialized in front of you.
--
The dragon flight was frightening at first, but as you relaxed it wasn’t so bad. You got to see things from an all new perspective. Dragon-eye view style.
Eventually, through the clearing of teas you flew over, you spotted a cozy tea house nestled between the woods.
The dragon dipped lower and lower before let out a warning, “The dragon dissolves, can you stick the landing?”
“Of course,” you smiled. A drop from this height? Easy.
You prepared yourself, but the disappearance of the dragon beneath you still caught you off guard a bit. However, that didn’t stop you from landing perfectly on your feet.
Flawless, you thought as your luggage somehow landed just as gracefully next to you.
The space around you truly was beautiful. A wall surrounded the tea shop and courtyard, and you heard rushing water faintly in the distance, telling you there was some type of natural water nearby.
What you didn’t notice was the five boys lingering outside upon your arrival.
“Uh, anyone gonna introduce us?” A slightly high pitched voice asked.
You snapped your gaze away from the scenery and towards the voice. Five boys around your own age and dressed in colorful gis regarded you curiously.
Before you could introduce yourself, Wu cut in. “This is your new strength trainer. She’ll be taking over lessons when I’m busy. I expect each of you to treat her with respect.”
A course of “Yes, Sensei’s” were said before the bowed in unison.
Then, an older woman with a long braid falling down her back summoned Wu. Something about an inventory issue.
“Excuse me,” he said to you, and then to his students, “someone will need to show her to her new quarters.”
With that he was gone. And you were left with five teenage boys staring at you.
“Um, hi I’m (Y/N). Nice to meet you.” You stuck with a polite introduction.
“Hey there,” a brunette boy with somewhat spiky hair said. “You know we don’t usually get many new people, may you and I could–”
“Kai,” a tall boy with black hair, cut him off. “Don’t be weird. She just got here.”
“What?” Kai gaped. “I was just going to ask if–”
“I apologize for my brother.” This time the voice came from… a titanium robot? Now that’s something you don’t see everyday.
Clearly the surprise was written all over your face at the unanimous chuckle that came from each boy.
“I am Zane,” the robot didn’t seem phased by your surprise. “This is Kai, Jay, Cole, and Lloyd. Kai’s sister also resides with us, but I’m afraid she is busy helping Misako and Master Wu.”
“Oh, that’s no problem,” you responded. “Do one of you know where I’m staying? If I don’t unpack now I’ll never get it done.” You admitted with a laugh.
“I got it,” said the boy with black hair you now knew to be Cole. He walked over, and grabbed each of your bags as though they weighed nothing.
“You don’t have to do that, I can take some of them. I know they’re a little heavy but no one told me how long I’d be staying.”
“Please,” Cole smirked, “it’s nothing. I can lift more than ten times this weight.”
“Show off,” Kai coughed.
“You okay?” Lloyd asked him.
“Yeah just something caught in my throat,” Kai shook his head before coughing the phrase again.
Cole rolled his eyes at Lloyd and Jay laughed. Zane didn’t seem to get it. You even found yourself smiling at the joke before following Cole to your room.
“Don’t mind them,” he said. “They can be a lot sometimes.”
“Something tells me you also fit into that category,” you teased. You are who you hangout with afterall. Though it wasn’t always true, it seemed fitting for this situation.
“I guess you’ll just have to find out won’t you?” Cole joked, looking back at you over his shoulder.
Eventually the two of you climbed a set of stairs hidden in the back of the tea shop. Upstairs was a small apartment looking room with multiple sets of doors, one of them being your own room.
It was a decent size, about the same as the one you had back home, with plenty of closet space.
“It’s not much I know,” Cole said, “but there’s been worse places we’ve stayed trust me.”
“No it’s perfect,” you insisted. “I don’t need a whole lot to get by.”
Cole nodded, setting your stuff down. “There’s two bathrooms, the boys and I share the one on the left, and you’ll be sharing with Nya on the right.”
You nodded, looking around your new room, thinking of all the ways you could make it look homier. Cole didn’t say anything more, but he didn’t leave either. He simply stood in your doorframe, looking at you, looking at your bare room.
“What?” You asked him, smiling.
“Nothing,” he shook his head with a grin. “Sorry, I’ll let you get settled in.”
You wanted to tell him it was no problem, but he vanished before you could. Out of all the boys you had just met, was the best looking in your eyes.
Shiny black hair, tall, and built like the mountains he commanded. Your new job was off to a good start already.
It was well into the evening when you finally met Nya. She sighed thankfully at the sight of you. She loved her brother, and she didn’t have any problems with the boys. They were all equally respectful, but other than Misako she had no other girls to talk to.
You too were happy for another girl to talk to. There was only so much testosterone someone could be around.
The two of you got along quickly as you offered to stock some shelves with her. Even though you were technically here to train the ninja, you weren’t due to start until the next day.
Your alarm woke you up at six thirty sharp. You know you weren’t supposed to start with the boys until eight that morning, but you wanted to get an early start on your first day before you got lazy.
Passing your way to the bathroom, you ran through your morning routine groggily before you headed downstairs to make yourself a cup of tea to wake you up.
Scanning the shelves for something that looked appetizing for the early morning, you didn’t even hear someone approach you from behind.
“I personally like this one,” a familiar voice said from behind you before a hand shot out and grabbed a case off one of the shelves just a hair too high for you to reach.
You jump slightly, startled by the person’s presence.
Spinning around, you saw the voice and arm belonged to Cole. He was smiling softly at you, a case of green tea in his hands. He too held the appearance of just waking up–tousled hair, sleepy eyes, and the lack of a shirt with black plaid pajama pants.
You quickly averted your eyes from his bare chest and instead found refuge in his earth eyes.
“Why green?” You blurted. It was the only question you could think of at this moment. And maybe it would distract him from the fact you were ogling him just a bit.
“Helps with energy,” he shrugged, tossing the case up in one hand. “I’ll start the kettle.”
It took you an embarrassingly long time to follow him to the back of the tea shop where a small kitchen resided.
He filled the kettle up with water and placed it on the stove before taking a seat at the island next.
“I’d make you some breakfast, but I’m afraid it wouldn’t be edible and that’s not the first impression I want you to have of me.” Cole laughed sheepishly.
You laughed with him before you took it upon yourself to scope out the fridge.
“How do you feel about omelets?” You asked after finding multiple cases of eggs. With this many ingredients you would be able to feed the whole team.
“I’m down,” he nodded.
You closed the fridge slightly before you saw a slip of paper taped to the front. It seemed to be a list of written chores, and at the bottom written in all capital letters next to a star were the words, ‘COLE IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE KITCHEN UNSUPERVISED.’
“Jeez, what’d you do?” You giggled, gesturing to the paper.
The boy flushed slightly, shrugging his broad shoulders before saying, “You set fire to the oven one time and suddenly you’re untrustworthy.” He rolled his eyes.
“Funny how that works.”
“Hilarious.” He deadpanned.
“Well since you can’t help with the food why don’t you just grab anything you want to add to the eggs, help me find the pans, and I’ll take care of the cooking part.” You suggested.
“That I can do,” he slipped off the stool.
Even though he wasn’t helping with the actual breakfast, the two of you worked in harmony together. He’d hand you the spatula, chop some vegetables, and give you some spices upon request. However, when you thought you could trust him with cracking an egg and he ended up getting it all over his bare torso you took it upon yourself to tie a black apron around him.
“Seriously?” He laughed as you tied the knot around his waist.
“Yup,” you nodded. “Damn. I’d need a magnifying glass to find your waist.”
He tipped his head back and laughed as you returned to flipping omelets with a smirk.
At this point you had successfully made two cups of tea, and three omelets. On the fourth, you were starting to grow more confident.
“Think I could flip it without a spatula?” You asked.
“No,” Cole shook his head, now seated on the island behind you.
“No faith,” you gasped, offended.
“I’ll believe it when I see it,” he shrugged, leaning back on his palms.
“Oh yeah?” You challenged before grasping the pan handle with both hands. You’d never done this before, but how hard could it be really? The answer was not very as you successfully tossed up an omelet and caught it gently on the other side.
You cheered, victorious as Cole also encouraged you, both laughing all the way.
Eventually, more and more people started waking up, and the more competent ones (Zane) began to help you with breakfast.
By the time eight in the morning rolled around, breakfast had been done, dishes were washed, and you were gathered in the courtyard with each of the ninja. Wu had given you the rundown of what he’d like you to work on with his students, and that’s exactly what you’d do.
“So,” you said, shaking the jitters out of your hands. “I’m thinking I’ll just spar one on one with each of you to see what you need to work on. Okay?”
The boys traded uneasy glances. “Are you sure?” Jay asked.
You smiled a little at their apprehension. “Yes, I’m positive. We’re just sparring, remember. But don’t hold back, otherwise it’s just a waste of time.”
“Yeah, you get your ass handed to you by Nya all the time, this shouldn’t be different.” Cole patted Jay on the back.
The others laughed at Jay’s blush and he grumbled something inaudible under his breath.
“Okay Jay, since you’re so worried you’re up first.” You waved him over. “Sensei said no powers.”
“Right,” Jay nodded as he approached you slowly.
“I’m not gonna bite you, Jay.”
“I know that!” He defended as the boys behind him howled with laughter.
You couldn’t help but tease him as the two of you got into a fighting stance.
You dug your feet into the ground and steadied your breathing. The key to combat was focus, controlled breathing, and anticipation. At least that’s what your father told you.
It was no surprise to you that Jay attacked quickly. He was the master of lightning afterall. However, that was what made him so predictable.
He’d throw a series of quick jabs that you avoided with grace. With each attack you’d be just an inch out of reach. Jay was quick–but you were quicker.
You didn’t notice it, but the chatter was nonexistent, and Jay was wholly focused on sparring. Though the sweat building on his forehead, and his attacks slowing were also becoming more prominent.
He threw a high kick in there this time, which was just what you were waiting for. The second his foot came off the ground, you moved to the side, grabbed his ankle, and with your own leg, swept his balancing leg off the ground causing him to fall straight onto his back.
Jay landed with a wheeze, but you helped him up just as quickly. “Your attacks are precise, but they’re sloppy. You try to cram in a lot of combined attacks and hope for the best. If you slow them down a bit you’re more likely to land a few.”
Kai ‘Ohed’ from the sidelines. “You didn’t even get one hit dude.”
Jay glared at him as he took a seat beside Lloyd.
“And you won’t either, your turn.” You pointed to Kai.
The others laughed, but Kai rose, determination clear on his face.
You got into position again, but this time you’d change up your evasion techniques. Since he spent the previous match observing you he no doubt knew some of your moves.
Kai fought more aggressively than Jay, but with less accuracy making him easier to avoid. You twirled around him after a hard punch threw him off balance slightly. With your backs to each other, you only had a moment to grab his arm, crouch, shift your weight, and flip his body over yours.
Kai landed as hard as Jay.
After explaining his problem to him, you called up Zane next. You wanted to get the analyzing robot out of the way before you completely ran out of cards to play.
You had to admit, Zane almost got you, but you quickly threw yourself from his reach with a well timed aerial over his shoulder. Just as you landed he threw a punch, but you were ready for that. You crouched the moment you landed, and swept both his legs.
Standing quickly, you had just enough time to catch the front of his gi, suspending him above the floor ever so slightly. You felt a bit bad–you didn’t want to dent him after all.
Lloyd whistled, impressed, as he was finally called to the stand.
Lloyd, the green ninja. You knew he would also be pretty difficult, but it was like you were in a trance at the moment. You weren’t about to lose your winning streak, were you?
Being as flexible as you were didn’t hurt either. Sure the ninja were pretty flexible, but you could contort yourself into the most uncomfortable positions making it easy to avoid each of the ninja's blows.
All you had to do was wait until they tired themselves out, and then deliver the final blow. It was almost as if they were fighting themselves.
Lloyd looked concentrated, but his stance was off slightly. You feinted one way, and he fell for it easily, shifting all his weight onto one side of his body to prepare for the hit he thought was coming. Instead, you spun and shoved your shoulder hard into the opposite side of his body.
Lloyd crumbled like a house of cards.
When the green ninja retreated with a defeated look on his face, you were left with only one ninja now.
You suspected because of his height, Cole would be slow and off balance, but you were wrong. He was sturdy, and his height only added to his balance if anything. You’ve fought people bigger and stronger than you all the time, bad unlucky for him they only went down one way.
After a while of going through your song and dance of avoidance once again, Cole laughed.
“You’re slippery, huh?” He joked.
You winked before sliding between his legs, kicking the back of his knees and then once more between his shoulder blades to send him tumbling down to the ground.
“Wu was right,” you huffed, wiping the sweat from your forehead. “You guys rely way too much on your powers.”
“Alright, cough it up, where’d you learn that?” Jay asked.
“Learn what?” You laughed, helping a grumpy Cole from the floor.
“You flip around so much I got sick from just looking at you!” Jay whined.
“Lots of practice and some time in the cirque,” she shrugged.
“Like the circus?” Cole asked, looking down at you.
“Not the stuff with the tent and the animals,” you clarified. “More like the Cirque Du Soleil shows, you know? Anyway, I did a lot of acro as a kid. Made it easy to learn combat.”
“That’s awesome,” Kai said. “Have you ever juggled fire?”
“I told you, it’s not the tent type of circus,” you laughed. “It’s classier than that. That’s besides the point, you all have work to do. Lucky for all of you we’re going to start with yoga today! Just as a warm up.”
You giggled behind your hand at the unanimous groan coming from all five boys.

Not to play devils advocate, but I feel like lilys opinion on the usage of the n word is valid. Regardless of someone’s race, I think it’s a little backwards to dictate what someone has to say about another races cultures just because they’re white (or not of that culture), differing opinions aren’t the end of the world and hers wasn’t inherently racist I fear the same goes for the anime thing too, I’m sorry but Japan DOES have of a loli problem, even if her wording was extreme
I’m not white myself (to be fair, not black/japanese either), not that I think it matters to what I can and can’t say about this but I don’t want you to assume I am white because I somewhat defended lily, which is someone I did NOT want to run defense to but maybe I’m too conservative for this space but I mean this in the most respectful way possible, it feels like some of you are reaching on some things just to paint her in a worse light, as if she wasn’t already famously bad 😭
(Feel free to correct me, I’m not trying to be intentionally ignorant for the sake of it I’m just tired of hearing of a lot of echo chambers about the issue without getting to WHY what she says is racist when I think like pretty reasonable??)
Anon, my friend, I do not know how to break this to you, but that is racist. I know you do not mean to be. I know you're trying your best to be as inoffensive as possible. I'm going to do my very best to answer you genuinely because you seem genuine.
Saying Japan has a Loli problem is like saying America has a child pageant problem. It's there. It's a problem, but it's not something floating on the surface everyone in Japan is aware of the magnitude of. It's a niche genre of ero fiction that comes up about as much to your every day Japanese person as child pageants in America.
In the 80's there was this loli boom that took place where it split off from your more typical bishōjo into lolicon. You would find stuff like Future Boy under that genre long before you'd find any ero.
Tumblr media
It wasn't until an otaku named Tsutomu Miyazaki was arrested in the late 80s that the darker side of loli came to the awareness of your every day Japanese person. It was a popular genre so there was a LOT of hentai of it. He killed and murdered several little girls between the ages of I think 3 to 6 and it started a panic very similar to the Satanic Panic that happened in USAmerica. He had a massive collection of anime and hentai. I mean massive. From normal things you'd see in Walmart to stuff you could only buy from very specific websites online no normal person would even know about. It wasn't just Loli that was effected though it was all anime.
It's why Otaku culture was so repressed and shameful for a long time and it even killed the Loli boom because the style was associated with the killings. It wasn't until very recently that Otaku culture made a come back, but still Loli isn't making that come back because of the online opinion on Lolicon. It's gone from an art style to something a lot darker and I think that's where the communication sort of faulters? Because if you say to a Japanese person "you have a loli problem" they're going to think you're having a Satanic Panic moment at them.
At least that's been my experience.
This whole thing is why there was the Moe boom in the 2000's, it was an over correction on the part of artists. Trying desperately to get away from that label and people taking advantage of that as well to make slop.
The rise of the Lolita in Harajuku also muddied the water on this because there's an entire beautiful subculture there that branches into a thousand different expressions. "You have a loli problem!" What's the problem with girls in frilly dresses?
You as someone online, who is adept at being online, in critical spaces and animation/anime spaces have so much more exposure to this stuff than anyone on the daily in Japan.
The entire world has a porn problem. The entire world has a sexualizing little girls problem. To point at Japan and specifically repeatedly deem the entire country as having an issue with pedophilia is racist. To go out of your way to bring it up when you're not even discussing anime or Japan is racist. When your hate and ignorance for a place and it's people bleeds into everything you do
That is racism.

Nooo now i cant stop thinking about gigi and teto in tsor 😭
“And then after the meeting with the ambassador from Maroc?”
“After that, mi vida, I should be free to luncheon with you,” Prince Sir Carlos of Hiberia and Anglosax declared with a smile as he shrugged on an oilskin coat over his doublet. It was a blustery winter day in Thameside, which meant it was wet. “Is that acceptable?”
His husband, Prince Sir Lando of Anglosax, sniffed thoughtfully. By contrast, Lando was reclined in a settee, his belly full with child, looking ever so slightly discomfited. It made Carlos’ core clench; he longed to run his fingers over Lando’s lips, kiss the pout from them. “I suppose that is acceptable. You must give me a full summary of the ambassador’s concerns.”
“When do I not?” Carlos demanded, still fussing with the buttons on his coat. His hands were swatted aside by his valet, Pierluigi, whose no-nonsense ways and subtle humor had won the famously anti-valet Hiberian prince over. Pierluigi rolled his eyes as he buttoned Carlos up and shrugged at Lando.
“When has he not, he asks, as though he will not fall at your feet and fuss over your heirs the moment he is through the doors.”
“Precisely,” Lando exclaimed. He had recently taken a fall while on an excursion, and had been consigned to their rooms on pain of revoking sparring privileges. “I’m not fucking jesting, Carlos, I need a proper accounting of every word. Pier, will you–?”
“Of course, my liege,” Pierluigi clipped out, with a smart salute to boot. “I will take the notes myself.”
“What days have befallen us,” Carlos growled, turning away from his valet’s stern appraisal, “that a man is discouraged from being concerned for his expectant spouse?”
But before Lando or Pier could answer that question, there was a rap on the door.
“I will go,” Pier said, turning on his heels to investigate. Lando sighed and made to stand; immediately, Carlos closed the distance between them and took Lando’s hands, helping him up.
“You are well?” Carlos asked, all previous consternation forgotten. Lando smiled at him, patting Carlos’ cheek. Carlos turned his head and kissed Lando’s fingers, his palm, his wrist.
“I am well,” Lando said. “I just wanted to stretch.”
And Carlos watched as his spouse lifted his hands over his head, groaning softly as his beleaguered joints protested. He was beautiful; tired, yes, but beautiful, the glow of being encumbered hypnotic. Carlos took Lando’s hips, seeking the ties of his gown.
“Carlos,” Lando warned, rolling his eyes.
“I will be quick,” Carlos murmured, his lips already beneath Lando’s ear. “It will not take much.”
“You are a filthy man,” Lando said, but Carlos could feel Lando turn his head to the side for Carlos’ ministrations. He would not need to prepare Lando; they had already made love that morning, Carlos awoken by Lando’s wanton moans as he bobbed his head on Carlos, his eyes as guilty as they were desperately, coming off of Carlos’ cock with a sinful pop as he gasped, “Please, please–”
But before Carlos could lift Lando into his arms, Lando said, firm, “Carlos. Pier went to check the door, remember?”
Oh. Yes.
“Sorry,” Carlos grumbled. He suddenly resented whoever was at the door. He resented the Maroquen ambassador. He resented everyone who wanted his time. If he had his way, he would be tending to his gorgeous, strong, brave, powerful, disagreeable, scowling, lustful spouse himself.
Alack and alas.
“Pierluigi,” Carlos called, adjusting his coat over his newly tight breeches. “What news?”
“No news, Sir Carlos,” Pier called from the other room, his voice a little odd. “Your friend, Sir Roberto of Merhi.”
“Ah!” Carlos said, smiling. He took Lando’s hands, leading Lando towards the main room. Lando waddled alongside him, looking ready to give birth for all that he was merely 6 months into his encumbrance. “Teto, ¿que tal?”
Then, Carlos stopped. Teto had a look on his face. He seemed…distracted. Unfocused. “Ay, Teto, ¿que pasó?”
“Hm?” Teto said, looking at Pier. “Oh. Uh. Nothing. Your Royal Majesties,” he said, bowing to Lando and Carlos, oddly formal.”
“All is well, Teto?” Lando said, and he too sounded curious.
“Yes! Yes! Apologies for worrying you, Lando,” Teto said, shaking his head. He smiled at Carlos and Lando. “You both look well. I just came to tell you that the Maroquen ambassador would like to extend an invitation to luncheon after the meeting.”
“Luncheon? No, I must decline,” Carlos said firmly. “I said I would luncheon with Lando.”
“It’s fine,” Lando said quickly, peering at Pierluigi, who was himself quite silent. “Maybe I’ll join you and the ambassador for luncheon.”
“Lando,” Carlos protested, but Lando put a hand on his elbow.
“The air will do me good, I am stifled in here,” Lando said firmly. It was as close to an order as Lando would issue, so Carlos sighed.
“Very well. I can keep an eye on you, then.”
“Perhaps,” Lando said musingly. Then, “Carlos, have you introduced our friends to each other?”
“Oh!” Carlos said, laughing. “I am so sorry. Yes. Teto, my friend, this is Pierluigi Della Bona, my valet and new friend. Pier, this is Roberto de Merhi, one of my oldest, truest friends.”
“A valet,” Teto said, his voice distracted again as he shook Pier’s hand. “I am surprised, Carlos.”
“He cannot cow me like he did the others,” Pier said, an odd smile on his mouth, eyes glittering. “I am as stubborn as this toro.”
“Then you are certainly worthy of your post,” Teto said. It was quite a long handshake.
“He is very capable,” Lando said suddenly, grinning. “Pier puts Carlos in his place. Kind of like you, Teto.”
“Hey,” Carlos said reproachfully.
“And he has started the mustache trend in the palace,” Lando continued as if Carlos had not spoken. Carlos frowned—had Pier?
“I have noticed a glut of mustachioed faces since my last visit,” Teto said, and Carlos once again wondered if that was true at all. “It is a- handsome look on some men.”
“Some?” Pier asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yes. Not everyone can pull off such a strong look.”
What the fuck was everyone talking about.
“Come, husband,” Lando said, slipping an arm through Carlos’. “Why don’t we let Teto and Pier get acquainted, and you can help me get dressed.”
Oh. Yes.
His friends’ odd behavior forgotten, Carlos quickly helped Lando back to their rooms, closing the door behind them. There, Carlos lifted Lando onto their bed.
“Will you deny me now?” Carlos asked, straddling Lando’s thighs, pulling the ties of his gown loose. They came away, exposing his husband’s light golden skin, the expanse of his belly, his lush beauty.
“No,” Lando said, smiling coyly, “but you might not want to continue once I tell you what I’ve observed.”
And indeed, when Lando told Carlos that he believed Teto and Pier had certain eyes for each other, Carlos could have sworn his manhood retracted.

@oknowkiss asked me fantastic question — what drarry fics would you recommend to your boss?
and i took that SERIOUSLY... literally thought about this the entire day and i have some Answers
first of all, i feel like i need to clarify that my boss is not much older than i am, haha!! sorry if any of you thought i suddenly found myself in the presence of a legendary fandom elder who participated in paving the way for today’s fandom — though she is a legend in her own right, of course: her vibe is very much 🎀✨put-together corporate tech girlie 🎀✨(the kind with impeccable taste in fashion, kitchen knives, and interior design) .... at this point in time, everybody’s got fannish hobbies, and i already knew we both grew up on the internet and liked YA during its prime, but not everybody writes fanfic and actually posts it online, which is why i was literally so floored at this REVELATION i immediately logged into tumblr and had to Post about it….
that being said, she is STILL my boss and i’m pretty sure she hasn’t thought about the hp fandom in a long time, so. if i were to HYPOTHETICALLY give my boss a drarry fic rec list, i would start off with something relatively family-friendly 🤣 (also i apologize in advance for inconsistent link formatting)
first off: Hermione Granger's Hogwarts Crammer for Delinquents on the Run by waspabi.... this is actually the first drarry fic i read, ever, so i’m being Nostalgic and biased because this is the fic that convinced me back then. but i think this as a first rec works, too, because she was a dramione shipper, and hermione and draco are here, too (only, what if hermione was lowkey a fujoshi instead....)
since i’d HYPOTHETICALLY be trying to Win Over somebody already familiar with the hp books + the fandom — i feel like i’d have to start with fics that confront canon first, whether it means addressing plot holes or flaws in jkr’s writing and then subverting the shitty parts (the epilogue… lol) OR fics that are deeply rooted in the source material, so reading them would be like a refresher course on the hp world while also proving how compatible drarry are together in Situations, lol
i would also recommend Heal Thyself by astolat … in no particular order, some more classics: Dwelling by aideomai…. Away Childish Things / By the Grace by lettered… What We Pretend We Can’t See by gyzym… Running on Air, of course (the drarry fandom classics)… as visual people i truly think she would be charmed by dustmouth’s comics — i’d start with Going Postal and Harry Potter Gets a Job …
so okay let’s say she’s getting convinced and i can now branch out to fics that are more TARGETED towards her specifically… i’ve never actually talked to her about fandom/trope preferences or fanfic prior to this day so i am definitely playing it safe ahahaha BUT we have bonded over rom-coms, coming-of-age stories, and lorde’s discography and email newsletters…. here are fics that give off That specific feeling to me:
Harry Potter and the Future He Doesn't Really Want, Thanks. (this was actually the first fic i thought of recommending tbh... something about loneliness in the city, hanging out with friends, it's time to play Ribs... HYPOTHETICALLY i wouldn't lead with a rated E fic though 🤣 also, as mentioned, i have a Strategy)
Faint Indiscretions by ignatiustrout
before a fall by eleadore
fics with rom-com references!!
you’ve got mail: Pages of You by wolfpants
mamma mia: if you’ve changed your mind by warmfoothills (orphan_account)
jane austen-esque references: amid this warm and steady sweetness by warmfoothills (orphan_account)
no specific rom-com as it's technically disney, but in here THE KIDS PUT ON A PLAY and it’s hercules…. we both enjoy musicals so this goes on the drarry syllabus: Falling for a Golden Boy by OTPShipper98
clueless au: Tis a Far Better Thing by The_Sinking_Ship
other recommendations i would give if i were able to successfully sell drarry to her:
Can I Tell You Something…? by Gallaplacidia (as drag race fans…)
we’re both designers who loved art first, so i NEED to recommend Truth to Materials by toomuchplor and lately. it's my duty
kylie minogue shade… the premise reminds me of an inside joke so INSTANT RECOMMENDATION: moonflower_rose’s Nothing But You On My Mind
fanfiction that would be appreciated by somebody who stanned one d*rect*on during their peak in the 2010s + the height of 1/D, 5sos fics on wattpad: Star Quality by who_la_hoop / Rich Friend by iota
fun fact, though: i roped another friend with very little prior knowledge of hp (apart from a few movies) into becoming a drarry shipper 🤣 so the moral of the story is there is a drarry fic for EVERYBODY even the non-believers… and drarry writers are so TALENTED they can convince just about anyone to come to their side...
this is so fucking wordy and self-indulgent!!! i took this WAY too seriously but i feel like tumblr is THE platform for long text posts anyway, lol. now if you've made it this far, i need to know: what drarry fics would you recommend to your boss?
just finished my 1:1 chat with my manager at work and i just found out she used to write DRAMIONE FANFICTION omg…. i wonder if i can get her to read drarry fanfiction in the year of our lord 2024…

Love the blog!
Did you notice Lila's "don't think about the past" line? I know she's saying it to Five to encourage him to use his powers, but I think it's also insight into her mental state (which I really wish we got more of in the final episode!). A hint from the writers that she's desperately trying not to think of her time with Five as she attempts to recommit herself to Diego and the family.
I definitely think that she is in denial at that time!
I think that what Lila craves is stability. It is something that she had thought that she could get with Mr Knife Man, but ended up not being as stable as she hoped. With Five, however, for the first time in her life she had found someone with similar interests, who was able to love her in the way that she craved, and thinking that there was no way home she fully let herself indulge in that love.
However, going back with Five meant losing any semblance of stability that she had gained with her husband and children. She didn't want her life to be thrown back into chaos, even if she wasn't entirely happy with her marriage and with the way her life had turned out, she wanted to keep up a happy image in her mind as long as she could, whether she was happy or not, because being unhappy but safe was better than being reminded of the instability she had with the Handler.
Anyway I don't know if this is anything, but that is how I took it. Also thank you so much for the ask!! I am so glad you like the blog!

@bitterarcs has requested a story : Considering all the rumours Reno had heard about her, the spark of an idea came instantly . . actually, it arrived after he killed someone. Idea and execution were two entirely different things however. It took a decent amount of money for a cake artist to make cake and chocolate to look like a severed hand. Nails, veins, flesh — it all looked surprisingly genuine except for the blood which was little more than crimson syrup. The hand was wrapped with single thin red bow and placed inside a box. If Verona did not eat people, then the thing would be a delicious treat. However if she actually did enjoy flesh and blood, she would've found it very disappointing. Either way, it was a trick or treat. 🎃
belated oct. 31st things.
Tumblr media
Rumors are often founded by some modicum of TRUTH .  To say that Verona is a character who left behind a history of barbarism and bloodshed is no sore hyperbole ; alas , for every hand she shook in diplomacy , there was another she tore and devoured.  As with ShinRa , Verona’s power came in totality from f e a r , from the reaping of the sins and lucrative wretchedness of man.
But the world has changed ( is making to change , at least ) , a new era dawns as the sun sets on such a time ( however glorious it might have once been ) .  Once-enemies are looking inward , doing the i m p o s s i b l e by offering an alliance.  And despite all which has transpired between them – a past fraught with a rightly bloodied bitterness , brutality , and a seemingly endless conflict – the two pillars who cast their thrall of power over the realm now REJOINED AS ONE ENTITY .  Very few , beyond Rufus and Verona themselves who made such a dangerous decision , were content with the choice ( though some might tell you the two even still hesitate to share space & time , as if each other’s company be a bane to endure ) .  Such that it is , there is no sense stoking the ire , is there ?
That has been the general air for m o n t h s ; to give Verona a WIDE BERTH , both from distrust and warranted anxiety.  Although Rufus has given her his blessing , the rest of the Turks were slow to display the same faith.  So surprised is she to find a little … TREAT … Awaiting upon her desk for the 31st ( which also happens to be her birthday ) .  Perplexed , she blinks down at it.  There is no note , though she has a sneaking suspicion of who could have decidedly left her such a gruesome looking confection ( reno , she thinks , trying hard not to laugh , you know nothing of me & yet— ) .  A s m i l e twists the painted seams of her lips , a shake of the head given.
❝ You think you know me so well , don’t you ?  F o o l ! ❞
Hardly spoken with anything more than a playful vitriol as she regards the cake.  Perhaps it might not be a real meal to her – indeed , not exactly the cooked f l e s h she might be inclined towards – but it is very much appreciated just the same ( how sweet of him to consider her today , even if as a joke ) .  It left her a’wondering : Is this gesture of mocking good-will truly a sign of cease-fire , a symptom of faith and friendship gone unspoken ?  One may only hope.

Hello, op! While I do find your reading of Kabru’s self sacrifice and how little he eats really good, im curious why you consider him the deuteragonist? He is a foil to the protagonist yes, but still a supporting character.
I think its pretty clear Marcille is the second most important character in DM, and her story has much more weight than Kabru’s.
Hello! I've mentioned this on my blog before, but I actually consider Marcille and Kabru to both be deuteragonists to Laios's protagonist. I just wasn't talking about Marcille in that post.
Technically this term is meant to be used in playwriting, and the Greek tradition at that, so I'm playing a little loosey goosey with semantics and my argument would sound different if I were writing an academic paper. But this is tumblr dot edu and I'm trying to get a point across on my little blog, and part of the idea of a deuteragonist is that they support the protagonist. "Secondary main character who has their own importance in the narrative while bolstering the protagonist" works well enough for my purposes.
I think Marcille and Kabru are both playing specific and complementary roles to Laios. Marcille is at his side, facilitating the A plot: namely, "save Falin", which requires Marcille's magic, and then Marcille's method of resurrection ropes Thistle in, so the continuation of "save Falin" necessitates confronting the Dungeon Lord and conquering the dungeon (the B plot).
Kabru only intersects with Laios, but he is tied from the beginning to the B plot- and with dragging basically everyone else into it. Actually, the fact that he brings in this extremely loaded B plot despite only having brief face time with the protagonist should be seen as significant. In a sense, Kabru represents the surface world and all its concerns.
Before I talk about that more, I want to continue with the complementary line of thinking and point out that Kabru and Marcille have very similar background motivations.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Laios wants to save his sister first and foremost, and it's only along the way that he starts to consider what he'd do with the responsibility of Dungeon Lord. Coming to the conclusion that he wants to create a home for disparate peoples to live in harmony has connective tissue to both Kabru and Marcille's desires.
Marcille is the only one in their party who starts out with a greater motivation other than saving Falin (Izutsumi is a special case, but she's ultimately along for the ride), one that she keeps hidden for a long time. Because she is a mage, and because she is driven by a very personal tragedy (my dad died; I am terrified of outliving everyone), she is looking for a miracle to bring the different races closer together.
Kabru comes from a background of personal tragedy as well, but it's also a far greater, more political tragedy than just the death of a parent. It is not a coincidence that Kabru is a brown boy from an exploited region that suffered despite and because of military intervention from a first-world power, nor that he was adopted by a white woman whose coddling/dehumanization of him represents the paternalistic oversight of these world powers.
Thus, Kabru's motivations are both personal and political: if they, the short-lived races, can finally access the secrets of the dungeons, then not only can they have agency in stopping tragedies like Utaya's, but it will also give them a greater power of self-determination.
Marcille and Kabru have both correctly identified and set themselves against a problem that is greater than saving the life of one girl, greater even than sealing this one dungeon.
Despite Marcille's hopes, there is no grand magic solution to this. Only small, slow, backbreaking, ordinary solutions, the kind you labor over in kitchens and bedrooms and throne rooms and meeting houses and hearths and negotiation tables. The kind you run a kingdom with.
There is a reason why Dungeon Meshi ends with Marcille and Kabru on either side of Laios's throne.
Okay: back to Kabru (under the cut).
I've talked about this a little before, but I'll reiterate here: I consider Kabru to be the counterweight to the back half of the story. In a very literal sense too, as he pulls the focus up from the depths to the surface not once, but twice. Dungeon Meshi builds itself on the premise that the traditional "dungeon" must function as an actual ecosystem, and the monsters in it are biological actors in that ecosystem and not merely magical obstacles independent of their environment. The first couple dozen chapters are focused on this. Like regular animals, monsters have needs and instincts and unique behaviors, and they can be killed and consumed as part of a food chain.
And then Kabru comes along and he reminds us that humans are also part of their own special ecosystem, with their own needs and instincts and unique behaviors, and that beyond the biological drive of the literal food chain there are also complex social issues influencing these behaviors (like capitalism). Tansu's visit with the governor introduced us to these ideas, but Kabru is the one who carries them.
The way he and his party break down Laios's party also serves an important function. I think most readers are so busy being shocked that Kabru is "so wrong" about our goofy boy Laios that they don't realize that he isn't actually wrong about anything (he's only missing the context of what drives Laios, which he admits to and is part of the reason why he pursues him). We've gotten only Laios's view of things so far, and Laios is pretty tunnel-visioned. The narrative, through Kabru, is telling the reader this is how our protagonist actually comes across to his community.
We like Laios because we are following his story from his inner circle. We know he's naive and struggles with people but that he has a good heart and is ultimately just a big silly guy who won't harm anybody if he can help it. But we only know that because we're seeing him with his inner circle, in his environment. Outside of the dungeon, Laios is anti-social to the point of rudeness; he misreads situations and misjudges people, he acts in ways that cause friction, and he accidentally aligns himself with people who make his whole enterprise look suspicious: a prominent half-foot community leader, a mysterious foreigner literally surrounded by spies, the disgraced daughter of a criminal who now has to shoulder the burden of her father's reputation, and an elf in a land where there are no elves. And they seem to be very good at what they're doing. Yet this whole time, Laios acts as if he doesn't care about profit or taking the kingdom, the only logical reasons why anyone on the Island would gather up such a party and throw themselves into this death pit day after day.
Yeah of course Kabru finds this suspicious and interesting. Of course people don't know what to make of Laios. This all reiterates the question that Zon the orc already raised: What will you do, Laios, if you defeat the Mad Mage? If you gain control of all of this? Can you be a leader? Laios himself doesn't know yet.
This is all necessary context for our protagonist and the journey he has to go on, and it's fittingly brought up by the most socially adept character, who is so concerned with human ecosystems and the bigger picture of the dungeon. There is a reason why Kabru, as a character, is connected to large webs of people as he moves throughout the narrative: his own party, Toshiro's party, the Canaries, the denizens of the first floor of the dungeon.
Kabru is responsible for bringing Toshiro down to Laios's party. Toshiro is not a big mover and shaker in the story itself, but his confrontation with Laios is a huge part of Laios's character arc. His detour down to the lower levels also allows Izutsumi to escape and join Laios's party later.
We also have this very important moment:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It shows the first inkling- to the audience, to Kabru, and to Laios himself- that Laios is willing to do a painful, necessary thing to protect other people, that he won't just allow them to become collateral for his sister/monsters. That he can listen, and that he can assess a situation beyond his personal feelings. Again, fittingly, big-picture-thinker Kabru is the catalyst for this.
And then, not content to leave him as merely a device for Laios's character growth, the focus slingshots back up to the surface, and we follow Kabru.
The Canaries were going to go into the dungeon soon anyway, and they were always going to stir up the crowd in order to lure Thistle to them. Unless Thistle had given up right then and managed to slip away, the story could have very easily ended here:
Tumblr media
Falin, immobilized and surrounded by Canaries, would have certainly been killed, and there would have been no way to ever resurrect her. Thistle would have been neutralized. The dungeon would have been taken by the elves, and anyone they could get their hands on would have been imprisoned at best. And maybe the dungeon would have been managed safely ... or maybe something would have gone wrong, and more lives would have been lost. Remember: the Canaries arrived in Utaya one year before the tragedy.
Tumblr media
This is a huge moment that changes Laios's life forever, and he doesn't even know it. Kabru single-handedly keeps the story on course by sabotaging the Canaries, and he does it not just for Laios's sake, but for everyone's sake. For his friends and companions in the dungeon and everyone else outside it. Laios is a part of his motivation, a key player in Kabru's hopes, but Kabru has his own desires, his own agenda. He's trying to change the world. In a way, he succeeds. And while the Canaries might wish it were otherwise, as an entity in the narrative they are always anchored to Kabru's character. The two forces collide because of Kabru. The unsealing of the Winged Lion and Marcille's emergency ascension to Dungeon Lord happen indirectly because of Kabru.
While I have talked so much already that I don't want to give a detailed breakdown of it, I do want to mention Kabru's unique interiority as a character. That is to say: we see the inside of Kabru's head more than anyone else. Every character in the main ensemble gets their own moments of inner monologues or fifteen minutes in the limelight, but for Kabru, it's constant. He's always thinking, talking, narrating. His POV chapters always stand out for how first-person they feel compared to most others.
Notably, the only other character I could compare that to is Marcille, specifically during the dungeon rabbit debacle and her ascension afterward, which is when she really takes center stage as a character.
I hope I've explained my reasoning without becoming too insufferable.
To cap off my thoughts with a nod to my original post, I cannot stress enough how significant it is, thematically, that Kabru's relationship with food is the inverse of Laios's. It isn't just that Laios is the main character in a story about cooking monsters and Kabru happens to be his monster-hating foil. The artistic choice to deny the reader the visual of this character ever enjoying food, and only ever putting it in his mouth in situations where it hurts him, in a manga that gives so much attention to eating and the pleasures of meals, cannot be understated.

ugh i just went through your whole blog and now im absolutely soaking wet… i wanna be yr little brother soo so bad…
you being a total loser older brother, never having any luck with girls, just getting high and jerking off all day. but your little brother is the total opposite, dressing like a slut 24/7, going out with a new guy every week, and it pisses you off. then maybe one day you decide to snoop around on my computer (i deserve it anyway, for being such an annoying little shit) and end up finding just ENDLESS amounts of gross incest hentai that ive saved over the years. and ofc this pisses you off even more, cause i’ve been acting like such a slut while *also* being an incest addicted freak and i STILL havent put out for you??
so ofc when i get home (probably from sucking off some random guy) you decide to take matters into your own hands and fuck me until my cunt is gurgling with overflowing seed. if im so happy to let any guy with a cock stir up my pussy, surely i wont mind my older brother raping my womb full of babies <3
(whoops i kind of went overboard. yr blog just really gets me going, lol! ^^)
can‘t believe you would go out and fuck random guys when your older brother is right there! i mean your taste in hentai says it all: you‘re desperate to get fucked by big bro, you should have know nobody else can fill that need!
so when you finally get home and i rape your womb full of babies you realize that this is what you‘ve been craving your whole life. it just feels so right getting violated by your older brother, how stupid of you to think any other guy could satisfy you in that way!

Hey there. I'm writing a story set in New York City and am not American. I have few characters, but most of them are arab or white. I can't help but feel a bit wrong about it, given that America is much more diverse than that, and NYC being an emblem of that. Do you think I should force myself to include more representation or should I just tell my story, and leave that more diverse cast to some other story I could write? I know this is a neverending debate and there are many opinions about it, but I've always agreed with everything you've said in matters of representation in fiction, and so I'd be curious to know your personal answer on it.
I'm a little confused by how you're using "representation," here. It sounds like you think representation = "randomly sticking BIPOC everywhere." I think when most people use that word, it means something more like "create an accurate or at least plausible depiction of a group or place." In actual New York, there are plenty of Middle Easterners and white people who live in relatively homogeneous small communities where they might only see someone of a different ethnicity on the subway. If your story is set in one of those communities -- and you do stick some random BIPOC in that subway scene, because that's plausible -- then it sounds like your characters might be an example of good representation.
(Note: if you're not writing something set in the real world, but it features human beings, it needs to represent humanity as a whole, unless there's a good in-world reason not to. But if it's our world? You can get specific.)
Here's the catch, tho: plausibility is relative. If you've absorbed some biases and haven't done enough research, then you might end up writing something that feels plausible to you, but which isn't actually representative or plausible to anyone else. The way to avoid this is to do the research and check (to the best of your ability) your biases. For example, you aren't American, I assume you've at least visited NYC? If not, you should. You can visit some of the communities I mentioned! You can eat in restaurants, visit mosques, have conversations with actual real people who are living the life you're writing about! If you don't have the time, money, or spoons to do that, there are other ways to do good research -- films and YT/Tiktok videos made by people from the communities in question, for example. But you'd need to watch a lot of them to get a good representative sample.
I recommend this book to all the writing students I've taught at Clarion, and other writer workshops: Writing the Other, by Nisi Shawl and Cynthia Ward. There's a particular part of it that seems relevant here, which is a kind of hierarchy of "appropriate" appropriation, I think first mentioned by Diantha Day Sprouse but included in Writing the Other. Basically it says that if you want to write about a culture that isn't your own, you can learn about that culture in one of several ways: a) You can be an Invader, and just go take whatever intellectual and artistic tidbits from that culture that you want, regardless of how damaging this might be to members of that group. Example: non-Indigenous people who write about actual secret practices, or who encourage the desecration of sacred places. b) You can be a Tourist, in which you're still mooching from that culture, but at least you're figuratively paying someone for it and accepting tidbits that the culture has chosen to sell. Example: getting a sensitivity reader. Or c) you can be an Invited Guest, who brings in as much as they take out, and who has formed relationships that are beneficial to all involved. Example: being part of an exchange program, both as a student and later as a host, and maintaining those friendships outside of the program.
The goal is to be an IG, but that isn't always possible. Tourist is still better than being an Invader. (...I feel like I'm leaving out a category. It's been a while since I read the book; any more recent readers want to check me here?) But the closer you can get to actually participating in that culture, the more your work will be informed by reality instead of biases or misinformation, and the more likely your work will read as plausible not just to you, but to your widest possible audience -- people familiar with the culture and people who aren't.
(I'm a little concerned about your phrasing of "force myself to include more representation," note. Why would that need to be a forced thing? A writer's goal should be to write something that feels lived-in and authentic to [if it's a real place] most people's experience -- not to meet some arbitrary standard, but because that's how you master immersion and characterization. If good immersion and characterization feel forced to you right now, that suggests you need more practice. I recommend writing short stories!)

Who in your opinion is mtl rough in bed from enha hyung line? 👀
MOST
SUNGHOON now listen i know this might come off as controversial but bear with me babes. i'm an avid believer that this man is simply uncapable of going easy on his s/o. there's nothing else that gets him going as much fucking you dumb until the only thing left on your mind is his name. and there goes my hard dom hoon agenda again – like the shut up you slut and take whatever i give you kinda hard dom. heavy on degrading, spanking, overstimulating you... pls i am so normal about him
HEESEUNG i know that a lot of yall portray him as a sub but i just can't go behind this agenda I'M SORRY I MAY BE BIASED 😔 anyway, i think that hee is an absolute menace once you get him horny (which is not that hard, let's not lie to ourselves). he'd be HEAVILY into degrading too, especially if his s/o is more on the submissive side. loves to recieve oral more than to give one especially when you choke oh so prettily on his cock
JAKE he just loves you sm – he's a service dom imo and he would do absolutely everything and anything that you ask of him. i think that this man is def the kinkiest one out of all the guys in here but he wouldn't just drown you in every new idea he gets, he would rather take it slow, one by one yk? baby just loves to please you and make you feel the best as you possibly can, so not even a year in your relationship and i'm pretty sure he would've tried absoluetely EVERYTHING on you by then <33
JAY oh he's absolutely a dom too, don't get me wrong, i just feel like he literally WORSHIPS you and woud prefer to make love to you rather than to just fuck you like some whore (but if you're into that then he'll do the best he can, take my word on that 😚). i'm not saying he's vanilla, i just think he wouldn't be as rough with you. jay just knows what he's doing and he's confident and secure with his abilites in bed, so he wouldn't have to go all feral on you to make you feel completely satisfied
