Design for Hydradread

Something of a manic pixie nightmare girl. She inspires dread and the fear of drowing on a species that doesn't even need to breathe, because who knows what she's putting in the water

Hydradread is a decepticon from gigantion. Maybe. Truth is nobody really knows a lot about her. Not even her closets friend Aquablast. As far as anyone knows, Hydradread just... Showed up one day. At first senseless and unresponsive to others she first reacted to anything ,with interest, or amusement. Hard to tell. When people on the street would recoil at the sight of her. She couldn't help but be fascinated by that reaction. A fascination that the entire rest of her psyche would be built around. Hydradread loves the sensation of fear. Both inflicting it and experiencing it. She likes horror movies, scary stories, and watching people in discomfort. Primarily expressed in her obsession with water

The pursuit of her interest eventually led her to the mad doctor Aquablast, where Hydradread grew a love of science. Or rather Aquablast's version of science. In their time together Hydradread became something of a chemist. "Water on it's own was harmless to a transformer, but what if it could eat you. What if it could overheat you" . She thought to herself and as she grew familiar with chemicals she got another avenue to consume fear. Her enhanced machine senses could smell the fear chemicals inside organics when they felt it. And it was an entoxicating thing for her. Unlike anything she'd felt before but just as she got a whiff of if. She realized the electronic brains of transformers couldn't provide that same delicious smell for her.

Soon she turned her chemistry from weaponizing water to turning it into "seasoning" essentially. Her odd concoctions. When heated and electrified by a transformer's head, specifically one feeling fear become that delicious smell she craves. In turn amplifying every emotion inside a bot at once. But that was her sole breakthrough, soon her time with Aquablast's dulled both their effectiveness as scientists. But with the formation of the stormtroopers they're been dragged out of it and have been gaining an understanding of the world beyond themselves. Guided by rage their education has continued past the point of their special interests. And they've been absorbing knowledge like a sponge. While spreading anarchy they've grown more ordered. And it's exciting for Hydradread because with her new perspective she has grown are deeper relationship with fear that before.

She doesn't like fear because she's just inherently evil. She likes fear because she's always scared. And in seeing other people's reaction to fear. She learns more about them. It's her twisted way of connecting with people. And with this understanding it seems clear that her early life paralysis was simply because she was scared. And when she saw that fear reflected in others that's how she related to people. What exactly caused her to just appear on the street one day and why she was so scared still remains a mystery to her. But science is about discovery and she is determined to discover more about herself.

By • Olalekan Fagbade Mohbad: Ex-Lagos spokesperson shares encounter with Naira Marley A former Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmus, has recounted how she was heavily criticised after she spoke out against Nigerian musician, Naira Marley, in light of the circumstances surrounding singer Mohbad’s death. Badmus had in 2019 on her page condemned Naira Marley’s lifestyle and his post concerning women’s bodies. Marley once tweeted that a lady having a big butt was better than having a Master’s degree. Following the controversy around the death of Marley’s former label signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba widely known as Mohbad, Badmus has expressed her dissatisfaction with individuals constantly mentioning her on social media, emphasising that the appropriate authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the case. The ex-Lagos PPRO wrote on her instagram page, “So much tags on me, I plead I’m [sic] left out of tagging, relevant authorities are on this matter. When I singlehandedly spoke up against this character and imminent danger it portrays, I was bashed both inside and out, a danger not curtailed will become ‘hydraheaded’, my heart is with the departed and everything that represents him.” Badmus had in 2019 responded to Marley in a post. She said, “So, is having a big body part now considered superior to having educational or vocational qualifications? I still can’t get over this! We need to restore sanity to our system and stop tolerating public nuisances. It’s mediocrity for anyone to applaud an obviously delinquent and unproductive dead duck hiding under the guise of making music, obnoxious music for that matter. “My advice to the younger ones: let no one confuse you that having a good body part is great, but having educational or vocational qualifications is more important! In fact, it’s non-negotiable! Your body part cannot give you sustainable existence, only good educational or vocational qualifications will.
