Others have probably already noticed this but it takes me some time to make note of these small details and I've just realised that Eddie's beer koozie/can koozie/whatever those things are called, which she constantly has on her coke cans the first few episodes, says "Humpty Doo Hotel Northern Territory" on it, which I think means that Eddie brought a beer koozie to lutruwita with her but not a single extra piece of clothing.

She's no good. She's got that hair and these tits and a vag and all that. Her trousers are three quarters length. She sleeps fully nude. She's wearing hot orange. She's probably getting railed up against a Land Cruiser in the humpty doo pub carpark. I didn't say a name, but she popped in your head, didn't she?

Hi-ya! I just finished rewatching Deadloch and I was thinking about making a gifset compilling the show's most random and ridiculous quotes and since the fandom is so small i thought it could be fun to ask some people's fave random/ridiculous quotes. Let me know if you have any you'd want to see. Hope you're having a good day wherever you are!
oh man there are so many good ones to choose from, like pretty much anything eddie says is just batshit insane. but my favourites off the top of my head definitely have to be:
(1x02) Did your fontanelle not close over, mate?
(1x03) Look, it probably just bobbed up because of a super-moon. Those things can pull out your period like a magnet.
(1x04) Mate, just for the record, I don't want to muff-dive your wife.
(1x05) [Do you know what you were doing five years ago?] Well, given it was a Saturday night, I'm 90% sure I was getting railed up against a Land Cruiser in the Humpty Doo pub carpark. But this is about you, mate.
thank you for asking :D and good luck on the gifset, i'd love to see it when it's posted!!

Whumpmas in July 2024 - Day 1: (Re) Introduce Yourself!
Tumblr media
This post is part of my participation in the 2024 @whumpmasinjuly event!
-----
Howdy, folks! I'm Deedoo! I've been a whump enjoyer for as long as I can remember, though I didn't know there was a term or community for it until somewhere in mid-2023, when I somehow stumbled across a whump fic, found the terms and tags, and the rest was history.
I'm a professionally trained artist who almost never draws (woops), though I sure do like to think about it. I got bitten hard by the writing bug a few years back, and that's been my main creative outlet for a while. I write all kinds of things, and am currently working on a (non-whump) fantasy series that I daydream about potentially publishing one day.
In terms of whump content, I have a WIP whump fic called "We Are TroubleD"! Right now there are several entries up, but they're miscellaneous entries written for a previous whump event that may or may not eventually find their ways into the proper canon story. I'm just having fun with it for now while I write the main story!
Here's a little more about me for those who might be interested:
❤️ Name: Deedoo
💚 Pronouns: she/her
🤍 Favorite season: Fall probably... I love the leaves, the colors on the trees, and of course Halloween! ... But ahhh, spring is so good too because you can go outside after a long cold winter and the flowers are blooming... It's so hard to pick just one season!
❤️ Average amount of sleep: 8 hours hopefully! My sleep schedule is all kinds of goofed up though haha
💚 Dream Job: Something where I can make art (or something that makes me feel creatively fulfilled), pays me well, and doesn't drive me into the ground due to exhaustion and/or long hours (beyond what I can handle).
🤍 Blog established date: Nov 23rd, 2023! Or at least that's when I reblogged my first ever post on here. I'm not quite sure how to check when I actually made this blog!
❤️ Username/blog meaning: I originally wanted to call my self "Whumpty-Dumpty" like "Humpty Dumpty", but that name was already taken, so I went with "Whumpy-Dumpty-Doo" like "Scooby-Doo", and specifically the show "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!"! That theme song frequently plays in my head because of this blog. That's also why the line in my profile asks "Who whumped you?". Now you can sing along with me!
💚 Hobbies: Drawing, crafting, writing, playing video games, watching youtube, and walking!
🤍 What you love about whump: The power dynamics, the struggles, the vulnerabilities, the comfort and care (I ultimately want the whumpees to have happy or at least neutral endings!), and the journey that the whumpees take to overcome, hold on, and survive their traumas. Things can get so emotional, and sometimes it's through the deepest and darkest horrors that you can see the brightest lights at the end of it all.
Plus, the community is so creative!! I love how so much of the whumpsphere is made up of original stories, characters, and art. So many people churn out consistently amazing stuff, and it blows me away.
... Also I'm a sucker for any character who is bound and gagged. It's a freaking weakness. Sue me lmao.
❤️ Anything else to add: I hope that everyone who reads this has a nice day!
---
Please note that my blog is meant for an 18+ audience. There are things that I post and reblog that are mature in nature and can sometimes be NSFW and not suitable for minors.

The Humpty Doo Poltergeist - The Lost Footage HD 720p
The Humpty Doo Poltergeist is Australia's best documented poltergeist case.
For a few months in early 1998, a small house in the Northern Territory of Australia was the scene of a terrifying series of events. Stones rained from the ceiling, objects were thrown by unseen hands and strange messages were scrawled on walls.
Long thought lost, this recently discovered footage was taken by a Sydney 'Today Tonight' team who spent several days and night at the house in April 1998.
All video remains the copyright of 'Today Tonight'/Seven Media and is provided for analysis and research purposes only.
To find out more about the case, read 'Caressa' (Ken Llewelyn, Sandstone Publications 2002) or 'Australian Poltergeist' (Tony Healy, Strange Nation, 2014).
There are also several blog posts on the case at www.thefortean.com.

🍬 - What is your favourite kind of candy/sweet/cake? For Oron and Chai?
Oron sighed. "There was a corner store back in Humpty Doo that sold home made hard lollies and nothing compares to that man. It was sweet but not too sweet. Shit was good."
Chai pondered a second. "Can never go wrong with a good caramel anything. Caramel candy, caramel cake, caramel milkshake. Now I want some..."

This also goes for Australia. Humpty doo > batshit, make fun of it. Wagga Wagga > thats a romanisation of a different language. Learn the difference and you wont look like a knob.
i do desperately need everyone on this website especially people who arent american but want to rag on america to familiarize themselves with the basic romanized spelling conventions of native american languages because every day i come on here and i see people making fun of massachusetts or connecticut or mississippi or passamaquoddy or mashpee or nipissing and its like PLEASE. PLEASE THEY ARENT ENGLISH WORDS. PLEAAAAASEEEEEUUUHHH. USE YOUR MINDS TO IDENTIFY WHEN A WORD LOOKS LIKE IT MAY NOT BE ENGLISH. I DONT CARE IF YOU MAKE FUN OF AMERICA JUST PLEASE STOP BEING RACIST WHILE YOU DO IT

every time u post the urge to renew my australian passport and just show up at my aunt’s door in humpty doo is so powerful. the sun is setting at 4pm in england now and i simply may expire if i don’t see some nature that isn’t a green grass square. the other day i literally cried listening to northern territory white noise bird sounds. i need to get out the city and out of the cold !!!!! now !!!!
renew the passport!!! come back to us!!! we must stop the australians-moving-to-england industrial complex.
but if you need a temporary fix you should go to the north york moors, it’s a beautiful forest and lots of good hiking terrain. when i was visiting family in yorkshire i went there all the time to try and beat the homesickness by deluding myself into thinking it was victoria.
the desert awaits your return mate

After a shitty day dealing with fuel injectors driving to Daly Water we set off again for Katherine, famous for Katherine’s Gorge and we were to find out hot springs. We have been this way so many times and never stopped at the springs. After walking to them on Saturday prior to our departure they are a must do on the return trip.
On the Saturday we did the drive out to the Gorge and it is just a stunning as we remember. The last time we were here was just after the 1998 floods so a little less water. This meant the boat trip was broken up into gorge one and two. The walk in between a challenge but a must do.
The sheer beauty of nature is on show here and the explanation about cultural and eco issues with needs of both was explained so well by our local guide. Bloody hot though with temperatures in the 40’s. That was on Saturday so rest of day spent in pool surrounded by bees who had set up a hive in rocks surrounding the water. Allan go stung but was very brave about it. NOT.
Sunday a last start saw us drive to Kakadu shopping at the Yellow Waters a major tourist location that had a huge pool, its still extra hot, where we bunkered down between the trees. Quiet evening in preparation for our early morning cruise which is also a must do. Here we were exposed to all the different birds of the wetlands along with a detailed explanation for the local fauna and water pathways. Here we also saw the must talked about crocodiles. They are a plenty and huge. One would not want to get in there path. Saw them catching prey and the occasional scuffle over territory, food and girlfriends.
Cruise completed we dashed off towards Humpty Doo to do a crocodile feeding cruise. This entailed a few kilometres of dirt road with hot and hotter being the only temperature one gets to experience.
Not to be disappointed as soon as we joined the cruise massive 4 metre crocs appeared. They are huge and the sound of when they snap their jaws when catching food terrifying. They are true killers. This made the previous Yellow Waters. Raise a walk in the park. One croc came within a metre of us and only the grating between ensured we were not that days take away. I know I have said this a few times but this is not to be missed.
The drive down the dirt road proved well worth it as we crawled onto the Boomerang Caravan Park where we have stayed before. About 30 kilometres out of Darwin it has great shade from established trees however sadly it’s on site pub has closed.

How to Plan the Ultimate Top-End Safari Camp Day Tour Adventure
Tumblr media
Planning a day tour to the Top-End Safari Camp is an adventure in itself. With its captivating landscapes, unique wildlife, and variety of activities, the Northern Territory’s Top-End offers an experience that blends excitement and tranquility. Here’s a guide to help you organize the ultimate safari adventure, ensuring you get the most out of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Choose the Right Time of Year
The best time to embark on a Top-End Safari Camp Day Tour depends largely on the weather and the wildlife you wish to see. The dry season, from May to October, is the most popular time, offering cooler temperatures and higher chances of spotting iconic wildlife like crocodiles and exotic bird species. The wet season, from November to April, is less crowded but brings lush landscapes and dramatic thunderstorms, making for a very different but equally breathtaking experience.
Create a Flexible Itinerary
Start your adventure early to take full advantage of everything the day has to offer. The Top-End Safari Camp typically provides a variety of activities, including airboat rides, wildlife spotting, and breathtaking sunset views over the floodplains.
But your trip doesn’t have to start and end with just the safari camp. Combine your safari with nearby attractions such as the Fogg Dam Wetlands Tour to get a deeper look at the region’s diverse birdlife and scenic wetland views. This will give you a well-rounded experience of the Top-End’s natural beauty.
Include Cultural and Historic Stops
Before or after your safari camp experience, consider adding a visit to the Royal Flying Doctor Service Darwin Tourist Facility. This interactive museum offers an insightful look at the life-saving work of the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the role of Darwin in World War II. It’s a perfect way to mix adventure with learning, giving you a rich cultural backdrop to your trip.
Experience Local Hospitality
For a unique and memorable pit stop, make sure to include a visit to the Humpty Doo Hotel. Known for its quirky charm and cold drinks, this outback pub has become a legendary stop for travelers exploring the Northern Territory. A quick tour or a laid-back lunch here adds a dash of local flavor to your journey, making your day tour even more special.
What to Pack
Pack light but smart! Essentials include sunscreen, a hat, comfortable walking shoes, a camera, and binoculars for wildlife viewing. Also, don’t forget your insect repellent, especially if you’re visiting during the wetter months. A light rain jacket is also advisable if your trip falls in the wet season.
Book in Advance
The Top-End Safari Camp Day Tour is a popular adventure, and spots can fill up quickly, especially during the dry season. Booking in advance ensures you won’t miss out on this incredible experience. Many operators offer convenient packages that bundle different activities, helping you get the best value for your time and money.
Stay Eco-Friendly
While enjoying the wilderness, remember to respect the environment. Top-End Safari Camp promotes sustainable tourism, so follow their guidelines to minimize your impact. Keep to designated paths, avoid disturbing the wildlife, and dispose of waste responsibly to help preserve the natural beauty of the area.
Conclusion
With a bit of planning, your Top-End Safari Camp Day Tour can be the adventure of a lifetime. From the wildlife-rich landscapes of Fogg Dam to the quirky charm of the Humpty Doo Hotel, this tour offers a full spectrum of excitement, beauty, and cultural experiences.
If you’re planning a trip, visit Dreamtime Discovery Tour to start your unforgettable journey today.
