robert downy jr meme: They are missing the point that this is a slow journey before destination story about trying to sincerely learn about, communicate with and work with others because we all have differing perspectives and lives that could benefit one another. That we should not jump to judgements of people we only see the basic surface of because there is always a reason for people's actions. That everyone is worth saving, yeah even that one that did unforgivable shit.

#I am only on like level 95 quests but like idk this slow start with wuk lamat speaks to me personally #like yeah I see a lot of very unrealistic depictions of how things like this would probably go in real life #we should not expect people to be like 'wow i did not see it this way lets work together for peace' but idk the realism isnt the point #its the intent of trying to teach people be better to others around them and not assume people are intentionally doing things to be horribl #it is that often people are scared or desperate and they do not know another way because they do the same #and dont try to learn about others or see their perspectives they just assume the worst #and it makes all of us worse for it!#I think that is what the game is trying to do in this first half imo and like yeah it could prob be done better but I appreciate the messag #dawntrail spoilers #I will tag it with spoilers for others convenience but I would rather stay out of tags or discussion I just want to vaguely talk out loud #not really spoilers cuz this is normal themes for this game but jic #I have also just learned that there are steam review bombs because her voice actress is trans I did not know that #so boo on those people

#me reading the martian: physics and botany. i don't know anything about these! what fun i am having!#me reading project hail mary: THATS NOT HOW MEMORY WORKS. THATS NOT HOW LANGUAGE WORKS #not that i am even an 'expert' but still #[man gripping sink voice] i don't need interesting linguistic worldbuilding in every book i read. i don't. i do not #books #my posts #talking to my scientist friends about the martian they were so annoyed by the science. whereas i was having a grand old time #the thing that annoyed me most about the martian was how all these world governments banded together to spend billions #of dollars just to rescue one measly astronaut? there's asking me to suspend disbelief and then there's whatever that was.#this book also features a lot of international cooperation at an unrealistic scale but it has a better excuse #so i'll allow it #i'm still having fun i do find his books eminently readable i just. sir please talk to one (1) conlanger i'm begging you #there are aspects where i'm like okay i can see how you needed to fudge that to get anywhere with your plot #but there are other aspects where i'm like hey you actually could have made this part less inaccurate. and didn't for no reason. boo!

Talking to my sister can be one of the most aggravating experiences

#just allowing myself a few moments of self-pity today #because i'm a little overstimulated/sick of people talking AT me #i have begun to notice that i'm never asked anything... not a single thing. no questions about my life or interests or how school is going #no questions about my partner or our anniversary and no acknowledgement of the big haircut i just got #no questions about my BIL's wedding. none about my health.#every day it's just people talking AT me. kind of tired at the moment...#and this is made worse by my sister's holier-than-thou attitude about literally the smallest and most insignificant things #like washing clothes? and cooking rice?? idk she talks like a housewife now.#and i get to listen to her complain about her 35 year old boyfriend and not say ONE kind thing for 2 hours straight #not a single question for me. not a single nice thing. and i'm talked over constantly #it's not like i don't raise my voice or speak my mind lol #it's just that. between my family and my partner's family. it feels like no one knows just how smart i am and how much fun i can be.#my partner is perfect in so many ways. my best friend and the kindest and most compassionate person i know.#but i really could brag and boast like my sister does over absolutely nothing. because i have actual achievements. but i don't #because who does that lol. fucking annoying and rude people.#maybe my family just thinks i'm okay and so they never ask me anything or call me. ever.#but see.... i don't talk to them because i want advice or help or money. i talk to them because they're my family #and i would very much like to feel cherished and loved by them #/ end angst and self-pity boo hoo

not sure it's my post to make particularly, but I do fucking hate how the concept of white guilt gets weaponized within white people ingroups to throw at each other in order to goad each other into emotional passivity, detachement and inaction, it's just so extremely not what the concept is about initially and is actually still an extension of white guilt it turns out!!! as it's still reacting to that idea and concerned by trying to sever oneself from its perceived effects, regardless of what those are and what they do and what bigger picture they exist in!!!! anyway.
