DP X Marvel #32
It all began when Dr. Jasmine Fenton—Jazz, to the brave and traumatized—walked into the Avengers Compound in five-inch block heels, a blood-red blazer, and a clipboard with everyone’s most damning psychological profiles printed in 12-point Times New Roman. She had been hired because, quote, “the last six therapists either quit, cried, or developed their own hero complexes.” SHIELD had gone through the best and brightest the world had to offer. They even tried a Wakandan empathy AI once. It cried. The AI cried.
So when Jazz Fenton walked in, armed with a dual PhD in clinical psychology and trauma therapy, the last thing they expected was that she’d personally know what hero trauma looked like. But she did. Her baby brother was a half-ghost interdimensional guardian who once got hit by a nuke and walked it off. Her parents were mad scientists who tried to dissect him. And her godfather was an immortal corporate vampire with a crown kink and a habit of kidnapping. She had seen things. She understood. And more importantly, she didn’t care. She wasn’t here to coddle them.
“Dr. Fenton,” Steve Rogers greeted politely that first morning.
“Please, call me Jazz,” she said with a smile that made even Natasha lower her coffee. “Or Doctor Fenton if you’re about to lie to me.”
Tony Stark made the mistake of raising an eyebrow. “Oh? What are you gonna do, psychoanalyze me into submission?”
She flipped to his file. “‘Severe abandonment issues, destructive self-worth tendencies, martyr complex buried under layers of narcissistic deflection, sleeps three hours a night, probably cries in the shower—’”
“I don’t cry in the shower!”
“That is because you don’t shower, Mr. Stark.”
That shut him up.
From that day onward, fear fell over the Avengers Compound like a thick, fragrant fog of anxiety. Jazz was everywhere. One moment she was on the roof with Clint discussing his grief over Budapest, the next she was in the lab with Bruce making him cry, and the moment after that she had Loki in handcuffs—not because he was arrested, but because he asked for them.
“I just think maybe I’m too attached to the idea of being hated,” Loki muttered, slouched on the therapy couch.
“You are,” Jazz replied, checking her notes. “You’re addicted to conflict because you’ve built your identity on being an outsider. Every time you’re offered genuine affection, you self-sabotage. You’re not a villain, you’re just a lonely youngest child.”
“I—” Loki blinked. “That is horrifically accurate. And incredibly offensive.”
“Cry harder, Sparklehorn.”
Thor, meanwhile, loved her. Adored her. Followed her around like an emotional support golden retriever with lightning powers. He kept trying to give her things—golden goblets, fur cloaks, an entire goat—until one day she casually picked up Mjolnir while fixing a crooked painting and everyone screamed.
“How the fuck—” Sam Wilson shouted.
“Why can she do that?” Peter Parker asked from the ceiling.
“Therapists shouldn’t be worthy!” Tony wailed. “It’s not natural!”
Jazz shrugged and handed the hammer back to Thor. “I was forged in the fires of Midwestern neglect and ghost radiation. You think Odin can break me? Try surviving your brother getting publicly disemboweled by a government robot while your parents take notes.”
She had no chill. None. She was the only person who called Wanda out on her grief projection, made Bucky talk about his repressed ballet skills, and forced Steve to draw a family tree so she could scream “YOUR ENTIRE FRIEND GROUP IS CODEPENDENT.”
“Group therapy!” she declared one Tuesday.
“No,” said literally everyone.
“Too bad. Show up or I will personally guilt you in front of the media using your own trauma receipts.”
And they did. They came. They came because they were afraid.
Tony sat with arms crossed. “This is stupid.”
“Tell that to your inner child.”
“I don’t have one.”
“Exactly.”
Clint sighed. “This is worse than Budapest.”
“Everything is worse than Budapest,” Natasha replied.
Wanda blinked slowly. “I think I just astrally projected my own anxiety. It’s hovering above me like a raincloud.”
Jazz didn’t even blink. “Let it hover. Let it watch you cry. Maybe it’ll finally grow up.”
Civil War? Canceled.
No one dared fight each other under Jazz’s watch. When tensions began rising between Tony and Steve over the Sokovia Accords, she locked them in a soundproof room with juice boxes and didn’t let them out until they hugged it out like the emotionally repressed golden retrievers they were.
“I will tranquilize you both,” she warned through the door. “I have the darts and the upper body strength. Don’t tempt me.”
They made up within the hour.
At one point, Nick Fury tried to get involved. He barged into one of Jazz’s sessions like he still ran SHIELD.
“What the hell kind of therapy involves throwing knives at a target while crying?” he demanded.
Jazz, unfazed, handed him a stress knife. “Want to try?”
He did. And then immediately rebooked weekly appointments.
By week four, the compound was transformed. Hulk was journaling. Peter was actually doing his homework. Wanda was learning healthy coping mechanisms that didn’t involve mind-controlling entire suburbs. Clint and Natasha were having pillow talks about emotional vulnerability. Even Loki was crocheting.
“Do you know what I’ve done?” he whispered as he stitched a duck.
“I’ve read your file,” Jazz said. “And your Tumblr tag. You’re not special.”
“I am special—”
“You’re traumatized, sweetie.”
Meanwhile, Tony—still deeply suspicious—began following her around trying to find proof she was a Hydra sleeper agent. What he found instead was her absolutely unhinged family.
“You’re related to who?” he asked over coffee one morning.
Jazz sighed. “My little brother is Danny Phantom, ghost-powered superhero and part-time physics major. My godfather is Vlad Masters, ex-billionaire and full-time supervillain with a complex. My parents are Jack and Maddie Fenton.”
Tony blinked. “The guys who duct-taped a rocket to a lawnmower and called it science?”
“The very same.”
“No wonder you’re like this.”
Jazz nodded. “Exactly. I was forged in chaos and trauma. Now I’m here to fix you.”
“I don’t want to be fixed.”
“Too bad. I’ve already started rebuilding your psyche.”
“What does that mean—”
“Check your inner monologue. Notice how it’s stopped calling you a worthless meat puppet?”
Tony screamed.
Even Doctor Strange, who allegedly had the answers to the universe, found himself in a corner drinking tea and rethinking the way he suppressed his emotions with sarcasm and facial hair.
“You’re not mystical, Stephen,” Jazz told him. “You’re just emotionally constipated.”
“I literally astral project.”
“Cool. Now try emotional projection. Maybe apologize to Wong.”
“…Wong is asleep.”
“Wake him up.”
By month two, even the press noticed. The Avengers were glowing. Smiling. Making eye contact during press conferences instead of brooding like middle school theater kids.
“What changed?” a reporter asked.
Tony grabbed the mic. “Her name is Jazz Fenton and she scares the hell out of us.”
Steve nodded solemnly. “She made me cry six times in one session. I told her about my dad.”
“She made me draw my feelings,” Clint added.
“I finally cried about Pietro,” Wanda whispered. “In public. It felt amazing. I think I vomited emotions.”
“Dr. Fenton helped me write a song about my grief,” Thor said proudly. “It’s a power ballad. With goats.”
And then came the incident.
The one time the Avengers tried to disobey her. Sam and Bucky had been arguing again. Loudly. And somewhere in the chaos, someone dared say, “It’s not like Jazz can stop us.”
Wrong.
So, so wrong.
Jazz calmly walked into the sparring room, confiscated Bucky’s knife mid-twirl, took Sam’s wings with one hand, and sat both men down with the force of divine intervention.
“You two,” she said in a voice that made the walls tremble, “are not enemies. You are trauma-bonded enemies-to-friends-to-exes-to-besties. You are a trope. You are a fanfiction tag. You are not about to regress into kindergarten slap fights because one of you forgot the others’ favorite breakfast order.”
“…He forgot my birthday,” Sam muttered.
“Because he has memory trauma! You have it too! You both need to go on a spa day and cry it out in a hot tub like normal people.”
And they did.
They actually did.
The day Jazz left for a conference—just one day—the entire compound fell into shambles. Loki started monologuing again, Peter accidentally built a sentient AI who wrote poetry about death, Wanda started glowing red again, and Tony tried to weaponize emotional damage via sarcastic limericks.
The moment she came back, they all lined up like chastised children.
“What did I say about emotionally projecting without supervision?” she asked.
“Don’t do it,” they chorused.
“And?”
Peter sniffled. “We missed you.”
“Damn right you did.”
Jazz smiled, terrifying and fond, and flipped her clipboard. “Now. Who wants to talk about their mother?”
And the Avengers, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, sat down.
Because nothing—not Chitauri, not Ultron, not even Thanos—was scarier than the therapist who could lift Mjolnir and your deepest childhood wound in the same breath.
Dr. Jasmine Fenton was the real hero. And everyone knew it.

The Impact of Parental Abandonment on Children: Understanding the Long-Term Effects
Parental abandonment is a traumatic event that can profoundly affect a child's emotional and psychological well-being. The absence of a parent, whether due to physical departure, emotional unavailability, or outright neglect, leaves a lasting impression on a child's development. Understanding the impact of parental abandonment on children is crucial for caregivers, educators, and mental health professionals who support affected individuals. This blog explores the far-reaching effects of parental abandonment and offers insights into helping children cope and heal.
Emotional and Psychological Impact
Attachment Issues:
Children who experience parental abandonment often struggle with forming secure attachments. This can lead to difficulties in trusting others and establishing healthy relationships in the future.
Low Self-Esteem:
Abandonment can lead to feelings of unworthiness and self-doubt. Children may internalize the abandonment, believing it was their fault or that they are inherently unlovable.
Anxiety and Depression:
The uncertainty and loss associated with abandonment can trigger anxiety and depression. Children may exhibit symptoms such as withdrawal, excessive worry, sadness, and irritability.
Anger and Behavioral Issues:
Feelings of anger and frustration are common. Some children might express these emotions through aggressive behavior or acting out in school and social settings.
Social and Academic Consequences
Social Isolation:
Abandoned children may struggle with social interactions, leading to isolation and difficulty making friends. They might feel different from their peers who have intact family structures.
Academic Challenges:
Emotional turmoil can impact cognitive functions, leading to difficulties in concentration, motivation, and academic performance. These children might struggle to keep up with their schoolwork or show a lack of interest in learning.
Risk-Taking Behavior:
In an attempt to cope with their emotions, some children might engage in risky behaviors, including substance abuse, delinquency, or premature sexual activity.
Long-Term Effects
Chronic Insecurity:
The fear of being abandoned again can persist into adulthood, affecting personal and professional relationships. This chronic insecurity can hinder the ability to fully engage in life and pursue opportunities.
Interpersonal Difficulties:
Adults who were abandoned as children may find it challenging to trust and commit in relationships. They might have an increased likelihood of experiencing relationship instability and divorce.
Mental Health Disorders:
Long-term exposure to the trauma of abandonment can increase the risk of developing mental health disorders such as chronic depression, anxiety disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Coping and Healing Strategies
Therapeutic Interventions:
Counseling and therapy can help children process their emotions and experiences. Therapists can provide tools and strategies to build self-esteem, manage anxiety, and develop healthy relationships.
Supportive Relationships:
Building strong, positive relationships with other family members, friends, or mentors can provide the emotional support and stability that abandoned children need.
Consistent Routines:
Establishing predictable routines and a stable environment can help mitigate some of the insecurity and instability caused by abandonment.
Encouragement and Validation:
Regularly validating a child's feelings and experiences, and encouraging their strengths and achievements, can help rebuild their self-esteem and sense of worth.
Conclusion
The impact of parental abandonment on children is profound and multifaceted, affecting their emotional, social, and academic development. Recognizing the signs and providing appropriate support is essential in helping these children navigate their challenges and build a healthier future. Through therapeutic interventions, supportive relationships, and consistent care, we can help mitigate the adverse effects and foster resilience in children who have faced the pain of abandonment.
Understanding and addressing the impact of parental abandonment on children is not only crucial for their immediate well-being but also for their long-term development and success. By offering compassion, stability, and professional support, we can make a significant difference in their lives.

Developing Backstory: Bringing Characters to Life

1. Where It All Started: The Character’s Origin
Place of Birth: Where did your character first see the world? Think about the impact of this place—was it a busy city where they had to fight for attention or a quiet village where everyone knew everyone’s business? This location doesn’t just say where they’re from; it shapes how they see the world.
Family and Upbringing: What was their family like? Were their parents loving or distant? Maybe they were raised by someone other than their parents—a mentor, an older sibling, or even alone. Family (or the lack of it) is usually one of the most significant factors in shaping who someone becomes.
Society’s Expectations: What was expected of them when they were young? Possibly, they were born into wealth, with all the pressure to continue the family legacy, or maybe they were raised to be invisible in a world where survival mattered. How does this influence who they are now? Do they accept or reject those expectations?
2. Childhood Events That Left a Mark
First Taste of Conflict: Think about the first time the character realized the world wasn’t a perfect place. Maybe they witnessed violence or faced betrayal. What was that moment, and how did it stick with them? This moment usually lays the foundation for the character’s emotional landscape—fear, hope, ambition, or distrust all come from these early life lessons.
Childhood Dreams: When they were young, what did they want to be? Every child has dreams—did they want to be a knight, a scholar, or even just someone who could travel the world? Did they have to give up these dreams? How does that lost dream shape them now?
Formative Relationships: Who was their first best friend, mentor, or enemy? Childhood friendships and relationships often create deep bonds or wounds that last into adulthood. Did they have a mentor who taught them everything, only to betray them? Did they lose a childhood friend that still haunts them?
3. The Teen Years: Where They Start to Become Who They Are
Trials and Tribulations: What’s the biggest challenge they faced as they grew up? Was it losing a loved one, failing at something important, or maybe being forced into a role they didn’t want? These teenage years are where the emotional armor starts forming—how did the difficulties they faced shape them into the person they are now?
Education or Training: How did they learn what they know? Were they formally trained by an institution, learning everything by the book, or did they learn through experience, like a street-smart survivalist? What impact does their education or lack of it have on how they interact with others?
Teenage Bonds: Did they have a first love or a first major falling out with someone close to them? These experiences often create emotional scars or connections that they carry with them into adulthood. How does that past friendship or romance influence their behavior now?
4. Key Life Events: The Big Moments That Define Them
Trauma or Loss: Was there a moment that changed everything? Think about a significant loss—maybe a loved one, their home, or a sense of identity. How does this event affect their worldview? Do they build walls around themselves or dive into relationships with reckless abandon because they fear losing more?
Victory or Failure: Did they experience a moment of triumph or devastating defeat? Success and failure leave their marks. Were they celebrated as a hero once, leading them to overconfidence, or did they fail when everyone was counting on them, leading to crippling self-doubt?
Betrayal: Was there a betrayal that shaped their adult relationships? Whether it is a friend, family member, or lover, betrayal often changes how we trust others. Do they close themselves off, constantly expecting betrayal, or try to rebuild trust, afraid of being left alone again.
5. Where They Stand Now: The Present Moment
What Drives Them Today: What’s the one thing pushing them forward now? Is it revenge, the need to restore their family’s honor, or maybe even just survival? Whatever it is, this motivation should tie directly back to their experiences.
Emotional Baggage: What unresolved emotional wounds are they carrying? Everyone has scars from their past—some are visible, others not so much. How do these emotional wounds affect how they treat others, how they react to conflict, and how they move through the world.
Current Relationships: Who’s still in their life from their past, and how do they feel about it? Did they reconnect with someone they thought they’d lost, or are they haunted by unresolved issues with people from their past? Do they have any ongoing tensions or regrets tied to these people?
6. Tying Themes to Their Backstory
Cultural or Mythological Influence: How does their personal story tie into the larger world’s mythology or culture? Do they carry a family legacy, a curse, or a prophecy that hangs over them? How does this influence their interactions with others and their perception of themselves?
Recurring Symbols: Are there objects, dreams, or people that keep showing up in their life, symbolizing their journey? Perhaps a recurring nightmare haunts them, or they carry an object from their past that’s both a source of comfort and pain
7. Character Arc: The Journey from Past to Present
How Does Their Past Shape Their Growth?: Every character has emotional baggage that needs resolving. How does their backstory drive their arc? Do they need to forgive themselves, let go of the past, or accept who they’ve become to move forward?
Unanswered Questions from the Past: Are there any mysteries in their backstory they need to solve? Maybe they’re unaware of their true parentage, or maybe there’s a forgotten event from their childhood that will resurface and change everything.

Since almost every good fan of Yan-Batfam or something like that is getting into this (and I'm a fan of that kind of thing) LET'S HAVE A NEGLECTED READER
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀. ☆
But I saw that a lot of people liked the other fic, seriously people, KISSES DIRECTLY FROM ANNA! SERIOUSLY, I FELT LIKE A Celebrity (<( ̄︶ ̄)> ehehe) And this was the first time that a fic of mine gained so many views and I'm very excited, thank you to everyone who liked it!
F/reader (sorry guys, I don't know how to write M/reader)
I'll write a part II, bcuz is too long!
“Don't be silly! I would never be a Wayne.”
Well, first things first, when did it all started again? Haha not 500 time loops ago, but some years ago.. like the first child, you were from a circus, the difference is that.. well? Your parents were magicians, at least your mother... your father until you were 6 or 7 years old was just another distant memory but sweet, not yours, but your mother's... the incredible magic of the circus “Joie nocturne” a beautiful woman, yet another victim of the charms of the heartthrob, philanthropist, billionaire and owner of Wayne companies, Bruce Wayne. Of course, your mother, like almost all women, never forgot him, having him as her beautiful memory, after all, he gave her everything she needed.. you, her lil bunny! That's what she called you, before she was gone, like him, she turned into your distant but sweet memory, like a magic spell..
You felt so alone, the circus wanted to keep you, after all, you were their family too, but even so, he found out about you, and being a child, You wanted to meet your father. Still, feeling the pain of abandoning what you knew, you went. You had your 10 minutes of affection and then never saw him again. You met your two brothers, half brothers, Dick and Jason, and the buttler, Alfred, You thought your life would be like a funny family sitcom, HAHA, WHAT A JOKE. Of course, the oldest was excited to meet you, you were just like him, from a circus! The youngest was curious about the situation, yet he was kind to you and didn't mistreat you. The oldest gentleman, Even with little time, he treated you like your grandfather treated you, you then created an innocent affection for him, after all, he reminded you of your grandfather! After 1 or 2 weeks, they disappeared. Only you and "grandpa" are left.. Just like your mother, you developed an affection for magic... but just those stupid tricks left you bored... even so, it was affectionate to see Alfred pretending not to know about the tricks, just to see you smiling... soon you realized.. you weren't really a Wayne.. at most a visitor. They didn't have time for you, Alfred was still a buttler at the end of the day.
Time passed and you felt more and more alone, of course, you had Alfred, but... he didn't always have time for you. Soon more people appeared... and others disappeared... Jason was the first to go, and even with the short time, you suffered, he was kind... your brother for such a short time, you wished you had played with him more, and after that the house, which was already abandoned, became even emptier, soon another boy appeared, Tim, from a rich family.. and soon Dick went to another city.. you don't remember when, but now there was also Cassandra, Damian, Duke.. Steph.. you remember Barbara from a long time.. Even though the house was full, it was still empty... and you could only comfort yourself with the magic and the things your mother had left for you. Your little stuffed rabbit and its "magic" materials. Even though If you were his biological daughter too, Damian seemed to have more of Wayne than you, maybe because he was a vigilante, maybe because he was a boy? did not you know of course... so why bother? Soon, you stopped trying, you didn't want that anymore... crawling for affection? At your eighteen You made your choice. You wouldn't be a Wayne, you'd be a joie nocturne again. But would they let you? That night, you went to visit the circus, that was your favorite time of year... Halloween, and circus mixed together? Wonderful! So you saw that... the villainy... and for a split second, you wanted to.. do something.. Playing like a good girl, you approached the large bearded man and tugged on his sleeve, asking what that was all about. Maybe this was your chance to be something. It was funny at first, seeing their despair, your second family, trying to explain themselves, but you soon gave a smile, before stamping your foot on the floor, making a crowbar appear, helping to open it. That was the beginning of everything... you were finally someone... even if on the wrong side. Soon, the decisive moment arrived, when you returned "home", packed your bags, and like a magic spell, you disappeared, leaving only a white rabbit and everything you did in that house, in your room, every magic award, every cheap magic materials.
After a Patrol day, Dick he noticed something unusual in the mansion, perhaps because Alfred was visiting his homeland, but it couldn't be that, after all, Alfred had already done that before... Oh right! Birthday girl, his ittle bunny sister. He ran upstairs, knocking on the bedroom door, before entering and seeing only a stuffed rabbit on the bed, and the various magical things around the room, if not for the empty drawers and things, he would say you still lived there by the decoration and the fact room looks good, everything is well maintained, warm
Dick: Bunny?
He called, looking around the room, before looking around, seeing the various magic prizes, photos, top hats and magic kits. All given by Alfred or someone called "Mr. Joie nocturne" Could he be a friend of yours? What do you mean you had participated in so many contests and won? Why didn't you call? Or did you call? Where were you now? Why was everything empty? You went away. He started walking in circles, until Tim entered the room.
Tim: You will make a hole in the ground. I called you several times, why are you in this room exactly?
Dick: Y/N, she is gone.. and we didn't even notice or whatever, we didn't receive any notification, why didn't she notify us that she was moving, we... damn... we weren't going to help probably because we were on patrol, did we waver? Did she know we were on patrol? Does she know the truth?
Tim: Wait, too much to process.. what does it mean "She is gone" she left? Is that it?
Dick: Yes. Dumbass
And well, we can say after that, what happened was like "Oh shit" and then everyone was like "OH SHIT" while you were home.. happy! Getting ready for her first show, her first real show... too true. You thought as you put on your gloves and applied your lipstick. Then, with slow steps, you walked onto the stage, smiling, while waving to everyone, who murmured and whistled. So you decided to do your first trick for the night, the "bullet trick" The difference? There was no trick behind it, just you and your skills... after all, it was in your blood. Just as the bullet was about to go through your skull, you snapped your fingers, and then the bullet turned into a beautiful, bright purple butterfly, flying through the circus, soon coming back towards you and turning into your bow tie. Okay, a bit of a show on your part for the first trick, but you have to show that you have morals. Funny that meanwhile, his family was desperate, going so far as to call Alfred, who was now just as desperate. Then, the special time came, the circus then closed the lights and when it opened, all the valuable belongings, inside the boxes, Of course, you had to feign shock, some clowns trying to calm the audience, and of course, you were also feigning surprise, making your things "disappear" to join in the fun. You looked at the children, snorting slightly, as you made the toys re-appear, seeing some calm down, while the others widened their eyes in surprise. Soon, the "incredible" Bat-family appeared... seriously, for such an idiotic cause they came...? Soon you saw them walking towards you and everything fell into place.
Nightwing: — Y/N! I mean.. Young Lady.. we were notified of your disappearance, we will ask you to return home.
You frowned, as you looked at the audience. Hearing their screams increase, some of relief that the "Bat-family" was there, others of confusion at the situation.
: — I believe, I'm already eighteen, so there's nothing to worry about, Still, I'm with my family at the moment, so I don't understand why the complaint. Not to mention that we were robbed at that moment, so why specifically did they come to resolve a case like this?
You questioned calmly, while pointing at the audience, smiling, before rushing to disappear with your family, leaving the problem to the bats, after all, they were the "professionals." You could say that the shock was written on their faces.. you were so big, poorly dressed.. those presentation clothes didn't suit a little girl like you.. but still.. what you meant by "your family" Were you referring to those circus freaks? They weren't as good as they were, they were just.. ordinary people! Well.. now they had to solve the problem of theft... but that couldn't end like that, nope.

Sabo: loneliness, connection and affection
Trying to organise my thoughts on this matter hehe
I just thought that Sabo's relationship with loneliness and connection are very interesting, and not much people talk about how terribly lonely his childhood days were(even compared to Ace&Luffy).
Ace has been alienated from people from the beginning. Raised in the middle of the jungle, by bandits who never showed much affection, and who repeated the same hurtful words as others did. The state of loneliness is the norm for him. He has never known any other life. Naturally, he'd be protective of what little he has(Sabo) and reluctant to open up and accept new connections(Luffy).
As for Luffy, he has been left alone. Shanks left him after a year staying at Windmill village. Garp constantly took him out of his regular life only to leave him alone in the jungle. And he as well took him away from the village and Makino, after he ate his devil fruit. And while he didn't have [present] parents, he had been cared for. Luffy knows the difference between loneliness and companionship. Which is why he chased Ace's recognition so much.
Sabo's situation is more similar to Luffy's.

But do you ever think that Sabo loved his parents? That he wanted them to love him too? He wouldn't have drawn them if he didn't. He wouldn't be so disheartened at their dismissal if he hated them from the start. But his parents made their love conditional. Sabo had to earn their love and his happiness, while they ignored his pain and attempts to connect.
And as you know this kind of relationship could leave a lasting impact on how one navigates their future relationships! But on that later😊
Now, Sabo ran away and that opened a whole other can of worms. He's a child, that for five years didn't have anyone to rely on. Of course, Ace was with him, but after he left for the day, Sabo was left completely alone. I mean, at least Ace had Dadan and occasionally Makino and Garp, they shared meals together, he could turn to them in case something happened and they provided him with company and a roof above his head. Sabo lived on the Gray Terminal by himself, in a place where people considered him either a troublemaker to avoid, or a pest to get rid of (those like pirates and bandits). So through Ace and Luffy Sabo gains not only brothers but also other connections and people who care about him! And he welcomes both Dadan and Makino with a bright smile :) Now that I think about it, just like Ace told him about Luffy, he also must've told Sabo about them too🥹
And while all this is nice, his previous problems didn't go away magically.
(… But his issues aren't stated or shown as explicitly as Ace and Luffy's, so they are easier to dismiss.)
Even though Sabo trusted Ace with his life, he still kept his origins a secret from him, whether it was because he felt them insignificant compared to Ace's or because he feared abandonment in case Ace would be disappointed. And he was more than willing to keep his secret until the very end - Luffy&Ace literally had to beat(strangle) the truth out of him. Sabo also put distance between them in another way too: Ace thought the two of them would sail together, Sabo didn't.
That is honestly also a point to how controlling his parents were. Sabo wanted freedom so much that he didn't mind the loneliness that came with it. Well, he got what he wanted ;)
Now it would be easy to say that his amnesia also erased his trauma. But it didn't! Sabo still felt hid parents' influence. (And unlike the other weird amnesia case (the sea sure likes to take people's memories huh) - Big Mom - he didn't revert to his younger self, he only lost access to his memories, his feelings and 'character development' remained). If anything it only led to Sabo not being able to identify the cause of his issues → not being able to treat them properly. Now, the RA seem like decent guys, they very well could be the needed support system for Sabo, but again, it's an army with a whole lot of other issues to deal with. So either way his trauma most likely was allowed to fester for a while as we see its consequences show in his adulthood.
Even though Sabo seems to be doing well as an adult, there's still some signs of emotional distance. He has never reciprocated a hug, even though he doesn't have a problem with physical touch in general, he didn't even think about approaching Luffy in Dressrosa at first and was very tense when actually talking to him. And it's honestly fascinating just how stiff his body language was in Dressrosa (maybe I'll talk about it in general some other time) - be it shock or anger he keeps his arms to his body, unlike Koala or Hack, who choose violence.

He also showed barely any reaction during Vegapunk's speech despite the panelling focusing on him specifically. I'd say he mostly keeps his negative emotions in check, bc in Robin's little flashback he was quite expressive! The main counterpoint is 'special Luff' where he is very open about his anger, but he has a really decent reason for it: his feelings being made fun of. And as you'll see later it's a very sensitive topic for him →
To begin with, he avoids talking about things that have emotionally impacted him in any way.

1.This one might be a stretch, but he begins to talk about his encounter with Fujitora, only not to say anything in the end, idk what's wrong with him; 2. After a very emotional fight with Burgess Sabo dismisses any worries without even mentioning the fight; 3. He refuses to talk with Hack about Luffy, even though we know that he loves to yap about him to Dragon. And that is right after he didn't want to wake Luffy up to even say goodbye! He also changes the topic quickly so Karasu wouldn't be able to further question him.
Even though these scenes are played as gags, he really seems to have trouble with emotional intimacy and opening up about his feelings. And that makes him seem inattentive and irresponsible, thus affecting his relationships with others even more…
And speaking of which, he is accustomed with either suppressing his feelings or at least just keeping them in check. He hides his worries from his colleagues, appearing as cheerful as always. And during his meeting with Dragon and Iva he brushes aside his guilt and grief for king Kobra (but, I mean it's a work meeting, they need to be professional) and never once he acknowledges his injuries.

And if he's willing to disregard such a thing as grief, how do you think he really feels about his new title, which was gained by the blood of a man he failed to save?
And frankly, right now we don't know much about Sabo! We know about his childhood, and the way he presents himself now(and that is some material to work with), but the 12 years in the Revolutionary Army are a mystery, and again it's an army, I bet he's seen many things, especially considering how high his position is!
tldr: like Luffy, Sabo has a special relationship with loneliness and abandonment. But unlike Luffy, who especially in pre-ts hated separation, Sabo pushes people away. And what makes it even harder for others to connect with him, is that he tends to hide his feelings and problems.
(like a cat)
but again, I might be reading something wrong, my bad
#it's so funny that some fix-it fics that are not Sabo-focused usually boil down his problems to:#a)amnesia b)ace (almost) dying c)physically being with his parents#he's NOT the one to open up and show his feelings let's be honest#one piece#sabo#one piece sabo#karyss' rambling#frankly it's so easy to lose the plot while talking about Sabo#one thing connects to another - what a delightful little riddle he is#I actually started writing this in november... and then kinda abandoned it lol

Writing a "Jealous" Character
Jealousy - a negative emotion in which a person feels anger and resentment about something another person has.
For instance, you might feel emotional jealousy when your best friend at work gets a promotion you thought you deserved.
Romantic jealousy might arise from seeing your partner enjoy the company of another person.
You might have experienced sibling rivalry as a child, competing with your brothers or sisters out of jealousy for the affection of your parents.
Signs of Jealousy
Jealousy is a complex emotion, and it exhibits itself in various ways. These are just 3 key signs to keep in mind:
Distrust: Suppose you’re in a monogamous relationship with your significant other. Every time you see them interact with someone they might feel attracted to, you lash out at them for committing an act of sexual or emotional infidelity. This jealous behavior proceeds from a complete lack of trust in their love and respect for you.
Insecurity: Jealousy comes from seeing a real or perceived threat to your valued relationships. This might exhibit itself in an extreme sense of dependency on another person. To overcome jealousy, examine and conquer insecurities like these.
Irritability: Jealous thoughts often correlate to a notable rise in irritability. This type of reactive jealousy makes it more likely you’ll lash out at a close friend, coworker, or loved one of whom you’re jealous.
How to Deal With Jealousy
You will likely experience jealousy at some point in your life—the important thing is how you handle it. Keep these tips in mind as you strive to overcome the “green-eyed monster” in a healthy way:
Analyze underlying issues. Evaluate your basic attachment style to determine whether you’re getting what you need out of your relationships. Jealous feelings arise from deep-rooted fears. For example, you might have an unexamined fear of abandonment leading you to lash out at your friends and romantic partners for spending time with other people. If you analyze where this fear comes from, you’ll have a better chance of moving past it.
Build trust. Suspicious jealousy arises when people are in the dark about another person’s intentions or behavior. If it’s appropriate, express to your friends, family members, and romantic partners you want to improve your ability to trust them. Overcoming jealousy requires growing past your own insecurities and letting other people prove you can rely on and trust them.
Heal from past wounds. Real and lasting pain is often at the root of jealous individuals’ negative behavior and emotions. Suppose someone watched their longtime romantic partner commit sexual infidelity with another close friend. They might develop a sense of sexual jealousy in future relationships even if their new partner has no intention of cheating. Taking the time to heal from past wounds like these will help you work toward healthier relationships.
Prioritize open communication. Social psychology indicates people are more likely to become jealous when they refrain from communicating. In your friendships and romantic relationships, keep lines of communication open. Be honest with yourself and with each other. Openness builds trust, and trust stops jealousy in its tracks.
Seek mental health care. Speak with a mental health professional to examine why you experience jealousy in the way you do. Both cognitive behavioral therapy and medical intervention through psychiatry can help you overcome your jealous feelings.
Some Causes of Jealousy
Feelings of jealousy arise from feelings of insecurity.
Low self-esteem and a lack of contentment with your own life and relationships make it very easy to become jealous of others who seem to have it all.
While different types of jealousy might manifest in unique ways, they all grow from these basic feelings of inadequacy.
Sometimes clinical conditions like anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), or even schizophrenia deserve attribution for a person’s jealousy.
Mental health issues like these can distort how you think in a negative way, exacerbating jealous tendencies into a unique pathology of their own right (morbid jealousy).
Why Is Jealousy Harmful?
Pathological jealousy can disrupt or even destroy close relationships you have with loved ones.
For that matter, obsessional negative thoughts will jeopardize your own happiness, self-worth, and sense of well-being.
Building trust and practicing compassion toward yourself and others, alongside psychotherapy, can help you put your jealous behavior to a rest.
Jealousy vs. Envy
People often treat jealousy and envy as synonyms, but there are important individual differences between these two mainstays of human behavior.
While both jealousy and envy revolve around coveting something one doesn’t have.
Jealousy focuses more on the anger or resentment of this feeling.
Envy, by contrast, is the feeling itself.
For example, suppose a family member dies and leaves your sibling a much larger sum of money than they did to you. If you’re primarily an envious person, you’d spend most of your time wishing you had the money. If you’re primarily a jealous person, you’d fixate and obsess over how unfair it was your sibling got the money instead of you.

Just a quick question, do you really think Fyodor likes the idea of having children? I mean, I've always thought he doesn't really like children in general,,, But I want to know what you think about that mainly because I've seen many people paint him as that kind of father who forgets even his children's names (that or abandons them) I know it's out of character for him (as far as I know??) but I find it a bit hilarious… and sad at the same time (maybe because that reminds me of my father) anyway, that's all I hope I'm not bothering you bye! 🤗💝💕
Love, you are not bothering me at all. And Im very sorry for answering this so late—time management issues on my part. Though, I should probably stop apologising so often; I feel like it might throw people off, haha.♥️
Dad!Fyodor, an analysis (kind of)

I actually find this question quite interesting because Fyodor is often mischaracterised when it comes to topics like family and children.
To answer your question—no, I don’t think Fyodor dislikes children in general, nor do I see him as the type to abandon his own or forget their names.
That interpretation is, in my opinion, entirely out of character for him. The idea of him being an apathetic or negligent father is more of a joke or an exaggeration rather than something rooted in his actual characterisation.
If anything, Fyodor is far too controlled and intentional in his actions to have children by accident, and if he did choose to have them, he wouldn’t simply ignore or discard them.
It’s important to remember that Fyodor is not a man who does things without purpose. He is methodical, calculating, and always several steps ahead. If he were to become a father, it wouldn’t be by mistake or as something he passively accepts—it would be a conscious decision, meaning he would be fully aware of the responsibilities that come with it. And given how much he values intelligence, discipline, and devotion, I don’t see him taking a careless approach to raising a child.
However, that doesn’t mean his approach to fatherhood would be conventional. Fyodor does not love in the way most people do. His love is not warm, nor is it entirely unconditional—it is something that exists within his own framework of control, value and purpose.
He is not a man to indulge in sentimentality. Even if he were to have a child, it wouldn’t be because of an emotional longing for family life but because he saw a reason for it.
He wouldn’t be a father in the traditional sense—he wouldn’t coddle, nor would he offer affection in the way most people expect from a parent—unless his darling comes into play, the one who gently coaxes him into becoming more of a traditionally “good” father to their child.
Even then, that does not mean he would be absent. If anything, he would be deeply involved in his child’s life, though not necessarily in a way that others might consider healthy. His manipulativeness would be ever-present, not out of malice, but because control is intrinsic to who he is. His child would not be left to navigate the world freely; he would guide them, shape them, ensuring they align with his ideals (because he is always right, obviously). His influence would be inescapable, woven into every aspect of their development.
That being said, Fyodor does not waste his time on what he does not value. If his child is his, then they are bound to him in a way that ensures they are never forgotten or overlooked. He would watch them closely, ensuring they do not stray, subtly (or not so subtly) moulding their thoughts, their perspectives, their very sense of self. He would demand excellence, not just in intellect but in loyalty. Love, to him, is likely all-encompassing, possessive, a quiet but undeniable force.
So no, I do not see Fyodor as a father who would neglect or abandon his child. That is far too passive for him. His love is not about distance or disinterest. It is about control, influence, and an ever-present claim. A child of his would never be forgotten.

Jason Todd x Jinx! reader prologue

Origins
Your parents, not unlike a certain Dark Knight, were killed when you were young
Unsurprising given you were born and raised in Gotham
You were then taken care of by distant relatives
Though "taken care" is a generous term
They offered next to no affection nor attention in general, and with no friends your age you were rather isolated
This gave you time to develop the unique hobby of tinkering
Perhaps it was due to the nature of your parents demise (an explosion caused by a fight between the Bat and Bane) but you'd always had an interest in explosives
A morbid curiosity that only further fueled your guardian's distaste for you
And the direct cause of their other child's (your foster sibling) death
Unlike their parent your sibling was warm towards you, always encouraging your talent
The day you finally succeeded in your endeavors turned out to be the worst day of your life
You hadn't intended to hurt anyone
At the very least not them
Your guardian arrived home after work that day, greeted by a pile of rubble where their house once stood
And a corpse where their child once was
Your cries for forgiveness fell on deaf ears as they beat you, afterwards abandoning you in the remnants of your now decimated home
You'll never forget the look in their eyes
Nothing but pure hatred
You spent a few weeks on the streets after that
You survived on dumpster scraps and slept in alleyways
That was until you made the mistake of breaking into an abandoned warehouse
Piles of metal were strewn about, an old metal working mill you concluded
Your morbid fixation only seemed to worsen with the recent incident
You found yourself once again building your dangerous devices
Even more macabre, part of you hoped to go out in the same manor
Then one night, while you were finishing a grenade, you met them
A large group of muscled men filed into the building
They pointed their weapons at you, some guns, others baseball bats, but all directed at you
You should have been scared
But you were too numb to fear
You pulled the pin and threw the grenade as far into the crowd as you could
Blood
And flying limbs
You pushed past the remaining men only to be pulled back
"Just wait till the boss gets a hold of ya"
After a few moments of regrouping what was left of their forces the men greeted their 'boss'
"You mean to tell me this little runt killed a dozen of my men?" ... "Hahaha!"
That laugh
Everyone knew that laugh
Before you stood none other than the Joker
All smiles, he looked down at you
In one hand he held the remnants of your grenade
You could just barely make out the sharp toothed smile you'd doodled onto it
"This is far too crude to be mass produced. You wouldn't have happened to built this yourself, did you?"
You nodded
"Hahahaha!" He continued to laugh with unrestrained joy
"Harley, get a load of this!"
Out came Harley Quinn, the Joker's right hand
She gawked down at you
"This shrimp caused all this damage? Talk about an explosive personality!"
"Yes, precisely." the Joker kneeled in front of you, offering you the scrapped pieces of grenade "Not every day you see a gift like that."
His smile, albeit menacing, brought you a strange comfort in that moment
You took the offered scrap metal
"Where are your parents?"
"Dead."
"Oh? No siblings?"
"Dead."
"Them too, huh? And how did that happen?"
You looked down at the device
You didn't have to speak for him to understand
Another cackle sounded from the man
"Ha! You're quite the jinx it'd seem."
"Hey that's not a bad name, Puddin'!"
He stroked his chin in thought "It does have a certain ring to it, doesn't it?"
Joker stood back to his full height, looking off in thought
"You know, Harley. The Bat has his little protege, so who says I can't too?"
"Oh, Mistah J! You mean it? I always wanted us to have a little Joker!"
"Not a Joker, Harls." he turned back to you with a wide grin "A Jinx."

You opened a can of worms for me with Baby Sphinxes. If they develop at around the same time as baby humans, how it's their upbringing? Do they have a "den" to be raised in, or how does the parent transport them from one place to the other? Do they have one, two, or multiple parents taking care of them?
Because sphynxes are very language-based to do their riddles, does that affect how quickly their speech develops and/or the relationship a parent has with their child/cub in terms of their comunication while they're learning?
And last, based off the harpy-human child (five talons ily) could a human raise a sphynx sucessfully? And the other way around?
they usually have single babies, rarely twins. they tend not to live in groups, you might find a loose coalition who share a few dens in close proximity, but it wouldn't be as close-knit as a wolf pack or even a feral cat colony. it's rare for both parents to stick around, usually it's one or the other who takes the kid. the favoured den of sphinxes is a cave, but these are rarer to find than the next best thing - ancient ruins, abandoned buildings, etc. they looove their ancient ruins, and this world has a lot of them scattered about. remains of settlements that couldn't withstand the crawling beats, or buildings even older than the oldest wyrms, strange constructions that imply a society that didn't live behind walls by default (crazy huh).
when communicating with kids it's very much like how humans do it, with the same sort of development, but the speech patterns are different - baby gets raised on a diet of riddles, poems, wordplay, puns, and convoluted narrative. rarely is anything straightforward for a sphinx and they are anything but plain-spoken.
i think a sphinx has the best shot, out of all the monsters i've talked about, to raise a human successfully. the babies are basically the same in terms of needs and care requirements and sphinxes are smart enough to recognise a cross-species-adoption baby may have different social needs (something the falconers still haven't quite figured out). the other way around would in theory work just as well, but humans often lack the innate curiosity of a sphinx, and can be pretty horrible about monsters. baby might just be raised as if it's a weird cat. the riddling behaviour will still develop no matter what, as it's part of the curse, but it will be a lot less sophisticated and kind of clumsy unless the foster parent specifically focuses on this aspect of their development.
#shoutout five talons#imagine meeting another sphinx for the first time and u hit them with ur riddle (to impress them)#and their response is just 'this must hit so hard if you're stupid'#ice storm over kosa

Why are so many obsessed with Armand?
I suspect that for many, it's because Armand is such an unusual and highly complex character. He's challenging.
A rare integration of sympathetic yet horrifying, violent yet passive, powerful yet pitiful, intoxicating yet repulsive. Resulting in one hell of a unique character!
Even more fascinating is that his motivations and choices, seem entirely hypocritical and self-defeating His behaviour reflecting his unstable sense of self, an identity both tumultuous and brittle. He admits to being entirely unable to perceive and define himself, outside the roles he was forced to perform. That he is painfully aware of his own instability and insufficiency of self, is absolutely fucking heartbreaking!
Armand's entire existence has been lived on unstable ground. He's only ever known abuse of power differentials and highly conditional forms of love. Everyone that commodified or objectified him, carved away pieces of his sense of self until there was nothing left. They abused, shattered and re-molded him. Again and again. And those who didn't commodify his body, used him in other ways (eg. to enforce their extremist dogma).
“Who am I, Louis? Am I my history I have endured? Am I the job I do not want? I do not know anymore. No one has painted me in over 400 years.”
Armand was never given the chance to develop a true sense of self, and the resulting desperation he feels is bitterly plaintive, sorrowful and yet incredibly damaging to others. His perceived reality is one of impending cruelty, loss of autonomy, and inevitable abuse or abandonment. Where his identity is defined as either the dogmatic leader encumbered by rules he must enforce, or to be ruled over by another.
"If I’m not with him, I’m nothing.”
He's terrified of being alone, unmoored from another, because he doesn't know who he is without them. So Armand claws for affection and direction from those he perceives as a possible Master. Seemingly willingly relinquishing his leadership role... While still defensively scheming to retain power, and desperately clinging to the security of his own manipulations. While trying to shape an identity around the roles others (willingly and unwilling) create for him, but...
Who is Armand really?
Who is he apart from the roles others have assigned to him? It's a fascinating question.
From parents who sold him, to cruel sailors using his body for their pleasure, brothel owners further abusing him, to being purchased by a predator. A Master who gave him to others to abuse yet again, who cultivated undeserved adoration and dependency. A child's innocence, so destroyed, his entire identity shattered. Again and again. The slave child, the prostitute, the adoring apprentice, the cult leader, the Maîtré, the companion of Louis? Who is he as an individual?
He doesn't know. And that terrifies him.
I can't help but feel that if only someone, anyone had actually loved him (had taught him how love should be) he might have had a chance, might have become a better person.
Instead, he became a man scared and brutalized, now brutalizing others. Forced into enacting laws and beliefs which were not his own, forced into filth and worship of satan, in the service of an uncaring god. And when that was taken away, his cult shattered, his identity shattered. He fell back to the role of dogmatic leader.
Arun > Amadeo > Armand > Maître > ?
I've read the books, so I know that version of him very well. But the show version is even more complex in many ways, he has different layers to his story, and psychological nuances to unpack. And so many questions and possible directions for his character...
Who will he become now he has turned Daniel? What are his true reasons for first sacrificing, then saving Louis? What role did he play in the destruction of the Coven? How is Daniel so special to him that he would break his 500 year old vow? What does he want from Daniel now? Do they have a history together beyond San Francisco? How far will he go? Can he ever love anyone without maiming them? Physically and/or psychologically? What does love mean for him now that he has turned Daniel? Etc etc...
That's why he's so fascinating!!
#Book Armand is equally fascinating!!#they're similar but not the same#I want to unpick them both#interview with the vampire#iwtv#the vampire armand#daniel molloy#armand#gremlin#iwtv amc#amc iwtv#analysis

Vi and her mental resilience
I don't think the fandom gives Vi enough credit for how mentally resilient she is. I see a lot of people say they wish the show explored more of Vi's trauma (and I do wish the show had given her traumas more attention), but a lot of the time what people mean when they say this is that they wanted Vi to show more obvious signs of trauma, and I don't really think that would make sense for Vi's characterization, precisely because I think one of the main points of Vi's characterization is that she really is that mentally resilient.
The thing people forget is that not everyone reacts to trauma in the same way. Not everyone will break down, have hallucinations and PTSD episodes like Jinx. Some people will, in fact, cope better with their traumas than others, and I think Vi is one of these people.
As a child, we see that she is not affected by the death of her parents in the same way Powder is: Powder starts having hallucinations already in the bridge scene, and she develops severe abandonment issues. Vi, on the other hand, takes on the responsibility of being the protector (which obviously takes a toll on her, but I will talk about that later). She obviously grieves her parents, but she is able to deal with it: when Vander takes her to the bridge where her parents died, she is initially distraught, but is able to deal with it. She focuses on the good in her life and what she still has (her sister and adoptive family), instead of focusing on what she's lost. (By the way, I'm not saying any of this to discredit Jinx or say that she's weak. I'm just describing how Jinx and Vi reacted in different ways to their trauma).
In Stillwater, we see the exact same thing: she lost her entire family, she feels guilty about slapping and “abandoning” Powder, but she never lets it break her spirit. She focuses on her hope of seeing Powder again, she exercises her body, she beats up Silco's goons as a way to gain information on Powder (this is stated on Vi's council archives). Again, she focuses on hope, on what she still has, instead of sinking into despair.
During Jinx's tea party, we can see a glimpse of how she dealt with the deaths of Vander, Mylo and Claggor: she tells Jinx to remember them, without realizing that this is triggering for Jinx, because for Vi, their memory is actually what gives her strength. I'm aware that the situations are a bit different here, because Jinx was directly responsible for their deaths while Vi wasn't. But I would point out that Vi probably also feels guilty for their deaths: she is the one who took Mylo and Claggor there on the mission to rescue Vander, right after Vander gave her that speech about them being her responsibility. Vi clearly also feels guilty for what happened to them. But while Jinx let that guilt consume her, without being able to move on, Vi actually is able to move on, and sees their memory as something good, something that gives her strength. Once again, we see Vi's tendency to focus on the positive instead of the negative.
Then, when she accepts that her sister has changed and needs to be stopped, instead of breaking down, Vi still wants to take responsibility for it and help stop Jinx. She focuses on how she can fix the situation. And by the end of the show, after losing Jinx (though I do think Vi suspects Jinx survived), we see once again Vi's resilience: she is still grieving, yes, but she is able to sing, she is able to smile at Caitlyn, and she is still determined to “continue in the fight”. She is taking the steps to heal, even if she isn't totally there yet.
Of course, Vi is not made of steel. I'm not saying she is a pinnacle of mental health. She has moments in which she does break down and becomes self destructive, like her pit fighter era. But in this moment, she really had lost everything: her family, her sister, Caitlyn, even Ekko had disappeared. She had no hope. But even then, we see that she can still function: she is able to pay for an apartment, she is not really suicidal (in my opinion, I don't think she is), and she is able to go on despite her despair. Yes, she is being self destructive, but she still goes on. And as soon as she gets a little bit of hope again from Jinx coming to find her to save Vander, we see her leave that despair behind and once again cling to hope really fast.
Another mental issue that I do think Vi has is of course the fact that she was parentified, took on the role of the protector, and that she tends to see everything as her responsibility, and she has difficulty letting go of the people she loves. But even here, I think people don't give her the credit she deserves: Vi might find it difficult to let people go and let go of her guilt, but she actually does make the effort. She tries to reach out to Jinx in season 1, but when Jinx refuses her help and continues with actions Vi disagrees with, Vi does let go of her and accepts that Jinx needs to be stopped. She might still feel some guilt for how Jinx turned out (“I'm the one who created the monster"), but she does make a conscious effort to not blame herself for Jinx's actions (“I'm done blaming myself for your mistakes"). And in the end, yes, she tries to free Jinx, but only because she believes Jinx has changed for the better (and Vi was right about this, Jinx had indeed changed). If she didn't believe this, Vi would not have tried to free her (as we see in act 1, Vi is able to hold her sister accountable for her crimes if she believes that her sister is remorseless for her actions). And when Jinx locks her in a cell, Vi does not go running after her once she is freed by Caitlyn. She doesn't know Jinx is suicidal, but if she really was this person so unable to let go that the fandom claims she is, she would still have run after Jinx. And yet, she stays to fight, she doesn't go running after her sister. In the final scene, even with the suspicion that Jinx might be alive (and I'm certain Vi does suspect this), Vi doesn't go running after Jinx, she voices her commitment to stay with Caitlyn because this is what she wants.
So yeah, all of this was to say that I think Vi's mental resilience is underrated by the fandom. She suffered the loss of her entire family, was imprisoned and beaten up for 7 years, had to deal with her sister completely changing into a criminal who tries to kill her and kidnaps her, suffered heartbreak from her relationship with Caitlyn, and despite it all, she was still able to keep going, to cling to hope whenever she could, keep her good heart, keep her determination, and always focus on the positive parts of her life. She is able to let go, she is able to move on from her traumas, and we see this multiple times in the show.
(By the way, there's this great video analysis of Vi's resilience by a psychologist. It's in Portuguese, though, and I don't think the automatic captions are very good, but if you speak Portuguese, definitely check it out!)

Two Kings and a Heir
Ghost king Nico Di Angelo meets Ghost king Danny Fenton who meets Damain Wayne after some how being launched in to the dc univers ( Nico and Danny that is)
Danny needed a safe place as his univers is nolonger ( reaveal gone wrong)
Nico isn't sure how he got into the dc universe but he's knows that he's not in his new work any more ( takes place before the trils of Apollo)
Because ghost work diifertly in the dc universe Danny would have relearn how to use his powers: ie control over his ice core, intangibility, invisibility, ghostly wail, eco blast ect. His ghost sense is going haywire, half going off. There's no puff of mist leaving his mouth, but is has his entire body tense. Danny learns quickly that the ghost of this world works differently, no one but him can see them, and even then it's hard for him the see them half the time. ( it's just a slivery after image in hisn periphery but they disappear when he tries to look at them head on.)
Hunger still affects Danny, not as much as before the accident, but he's still half human and he still need to eat. Something cheep and greasy. There were no nasty burger here, just a place called bat burger where he clocks an nother kid around his age as being something more then a laminar but close to a halfa like him, developing core maybe?
Nico new that he wasn't in New York anymore when he woke up, and he's quick to learn that he's in jersey, in a city call gotham. A place that didn't exist before. he's half scared that he was placed in the lotus casino again, he knows that's impossable. but the fear lingers. ( it happens once but who's to say that it won't happen again?) Nico needed information, he don't know where he is, when he is , so he plans to summon a ghost. But first he needs a happy meal.
The clost thing to a mc' Donald's is a place called bat burger. There Nico meets Danny, and they both clock each other as pooled who has an extremely association with death, and the underworld. Another child of hades? Maybe.
Silent communication passed he tween the two of them. The cashier clears her throat, and Danny orders first before stepping to the side and lingering awkwardly behind the other boy as he places his order, a kids meal. The kid walks to a booth at the back, one shrouded in shadows. Danny is half compiled to follow, every time he meets a halfa they tried to kill him first and get to know him second. But so far this was going great. He joins the kid at the booth.
Silence lingers between then the boy stared out the window at the few passing cars, Danny decided to pick at napickn, a black stylized bat decorated the corner. How was she supposed to go about this with out fist flying? He's not at his strongest at the moment. He's been doing good so far at ignoring the ach of the vivisection wound. Hastily stitched half healed, sleeping and eating would heald the thing faster, he just need a place to sleep, and stock up kn canned food and granola bars. Maybe he could break into one of the abandon buildings.
" Nico." The boys said suddenly.
Um
What?
Name, name, names. That was his name. He should-
" Danny! Yeah... call me Danny."
This was a good start, names are good. It doesn't matter that he's on the sudden verg of panic, or that he was getting a migraine from the constant half use of his ghost sense.
" son of hades?" Nico asked tentatively as I'd he was sharing a secret.
" what? No my dad isn't-"
" Hecate then, she's your mother right? Your too old not to know who your godly parent is, and you can't be unclaimed." Nico said in a rapid wishper, his eyes darting around the room as if expecting someone to attack.
" No wait, dude calm down, I think I know what's going on." But before he could answer they were called to get food. Looking over his shoulder the cashier looked unimpressed. Right food, the original reason why he's here.
Part two later

𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄 was not always easy, you suffered a lot at the hands of others and were abandoned in an orphanage when you were a child. And it didn't take long for a family to adopt you.
But your rainbow was painted gray when you realized that family wouldn't give you the love you deserved. An abusive family that always puts you down. Even though they are rich and give you all the best, they neglected you all the years.
They didn't listen to your outbursts, they belittled your insecurities — and even increased them and caused many of them — and put you down when they could.
When you were around 13 years old you developed depression, and that feeling of sadness consume you day after day, becoming increasingly debilitating. This sadness and emptiness couldn't be normalized, but how were you to know it couldn't be?
You had no parameters and no family support.
With this lack of love and attention, you didn't have good relationships. You have fallen into the clutches of inhumane partners, that gave you crumbs of affection, and as a result you went through several toxic situations, leaving you alone all the fucking times.
Had God abandoned you? Could everyone live well but you would never have your happy ending?
Life was unfair, raw and fucked.
After some time with this emotional imbalance, death started to seem like a good thing. Maybe the best choice.
It was then that the crisis began, as well as the self-harm. The years of suffering accumulated scars on your skin, which became more covered every day by sweatshirts and jeans, as well as dark circles under your eyes.
You had already tried to end this suffering several times, but none of the ways worked.
━━ Am I too weak even for this? — you questioned yourself in a whisper between tears after a failed attempt.
Your parents were considerably powerful people in the commercial world, perhaps they got money in a dirty way and ran some nasty scheme to accumulate those digits in the bank account.
Since your childhood, you would hear suspicious conversations in the room, with strange people in meetings over cigars and expensive wine. The mansion had many security guards, it even looked like they were the president and the first lady of the country.
You never understood the reason for this excessive security. What were they so afraid of?
One night, you were wrapped in a blanket, lying in bed and looking at the wall while thinking about nothing. Your mind was as empty as the bottles of champagne they popped on the weekends.
Maybe this would be a good time to end this once and for all. Then you walked to the balcony of your room, which overlooked the backyard, and felt the cold breeze kiss your sad face.
You sat there and looked at the floor. It was very high. Tears began to flow down your face unconsciously, you felt incapable even at that moment.
That's when you heard a strange noise coming from the garden.
Then everything was silent again, it was okay, it shouldn't be anything you need to worry about.
After a few minutes, you heard a loud, terrified scream coming from your mother on the first floor, and then the sound of gunshots. It made you look back and wonder what could be happening.
In less than a minute, your bedroom door opened and you flinched in fright.
There was a peculiar man, you had never seen him in your life. Tall, muscular, dark hair, green eyes that made him look like a natural predator, black clothes, scar on his lip, skin covered in blood, a gun on his waist and he was holding something that looked like a sword with a chain.
Your tearful eyes met his cold gaze, and you felt a chill run through your body. Maybe it was the cold of the night breeze, or the fear of this stranger, but you didn't want to think about anything else and immediately jumped.
In an almost supernatural way, the stranger had crossed your vast room in a second and was now on the balcony. He grabbed you by the waist mid-air and pulled you back.
It's not possible that you were going to die at the hands of a stranger when you finally found the courage that was missing in you.
You began to struggle in the stranger's muscular arms, but he was too strong and was pulling you away from the balcony. The iron smell of blood was filling your nostrils and you felt like vomiting.
━━ Let me fucking jump, take your dirty hands out of me!
He didn't say anything, and he didn't even make an effort to keep you quiet. When suddenly he pulled something out of his pocket like a cloth that was placed on your nose and you started to feel your eyelids get heavy.
You didn't see much and you didn't hear much either, but you opened your eyes slightly and saw how he carried you in his arms like a bride, dodging the corpses of the security guards on the ground, the result of the bloody scene he caused.
The next day, you woke up.
You were in a considerably comfortable bed in a dimly lit room. The dark curtains hid the light from the cold day outside, but you could hear some car horns, the sound of an ambulance, a motorcycle accelerating, sounds of the avenue.
When suddenly, a male voice was heard outside the room, followed by another male voice.
━━ Why didn't you kill the girl too?
━━ The ad asked for her parents' heads, not hers.
━━ Are you going to babysit a grown woman? I'm not judging but I didn't expect that from you.
━━ I know how to handle myself, Shiu. Don't worry.
And then a door closed, probably the main one and the other man left. It was then that you heard the sound of footsteps approaching in the hallway, until the doorknob turned and that muscular man from yesterday entered.
You closed your eyes and tried to hide it, but it didn't work.
━━ You don't have to pretend to be asleep.
You slowly opened your eyes and noticed that he was wearing gray sweatpants and a black compression shirt. That skin was no longer stained with last night's thick blood.
Instead of saying anything, you remained sullen and quiet, like a helpless animal.
━━ I’m Toji Fushiguro.
He offered his hand to you, and yet reluctant and uncertain, you decided to hold it and shake it. The skin on his palm wasn't as soft as yours. It was calloused, a little harsh, the hands of a blacksmith.
━━ You didn't kill me yesterday, you just killed my parents. Why?
━━ By the look on your face, I must say I did you a favor.
━━ You're a hitman, aren't you?
━━ I think this is kind of obvious, but yes.
He went to the window to open the curtains and let in the gray daylight.
━━ Why aren't there bars on the windows?
━━ 'Cause this isn't a kidnapping, perhaps?
You found the man's actions quite strange and the way he was reacting to you.
━━ Look, why don't you get up and go down the street with me? We’ll go to the market.
He grabbed a pair of all stars and placed them next to the bed before leaving the room. You noticed it was yours, and on a chair was your backpack. Had he prepared a backpack with your things? That's weird.
You accepted what he had said and put on your sneakers, before leaving the room. He was in the apartment's kitchen, near the counter, taking out his wallet and keys.
━━ Here, have a glass of water first.
He took a bottle from the fridge and poured water into a glass for you. You took it and so you went to the market.
It was so strange to be on the street now, and that giant man seemed to be your bodyguard. How long has it been since you were outside? Depression has made you give up on leaving your room, so going for a walk was very weird.
On the market everything went well, it was much more normal than you had imagined. He didn't leave your side for a long time but it wasn't like he was suffocating you with his presence.
At a certain point he went to the fruits and vegetables area.
━━ I'm terrible at choosing these things, would you like to help me?
You helped him choose the best. For someone with a physique like that he was very lost on how to buy this kind of healthy food. Then you went back to the apartment, and he started taking some things out of the bags.
━━ Can you bathe alone or do you need help?
You didn't respond, what response should you give?
He sighed.
━━ I'm going to assume you need help. C’mon.
He led the way, heading to the apartment's bathroom. It had a bathtub, shower, a good-sized mirror, grayish stone sink, black carpet that absorbs water.
Toji bent down next to the bathtub and turned on the taps, so it started to fill. You took the opportunity to start taking off your clothes, even though you were embarrassed. First you took off your black hoodie.
He turned back and noticed that your arms and thighs were in a sad state. Your skin was wrapped in white bandages, completely stained with blood.
After all, you were alike in something. Both of you wore black clothes to hide the blood. Him for one reason, you for another but with the same purpose.
━━ After the bath I'll take care of it.
He rolled up his sleeves and dipped his forearm in the water to make sure it was at an ideal temperature for you. You then got into the bathtub, sitting down slowly and after taking off the bandages.
The water made it burn a little, and although it wasn't bleeding like before, your dermis was exposed with crimson marks.
━━ These cuts are deep…
That's what he said, before picking up a brand new bottle of shampoo. It smelled like honey.
━━ I know…
You felt ashamed of yourself for being in this situation. When did you get this bad?
He remained silent, after seeing how you shyly hugged your knees. You felt the honey-scented shampoo being poured onto the top of your head, then he could massage your scalp with the strong pads of his thick fingers. It was the most peaceful bath you've ever had in your life. There was a strange man — maybe not so strange after all — washing your hair, while putting liquid soap on your hands so that you could wash your body by yourself.
At the end of the bath, he took a very long, dark gray towel and asked you to stand up. Toji rolled you up like a package and took you out of the bathtub, placing you standing on the rug.
━━ Can you dry yourself? I'll get the medicine and your clothes, I'll be right back so I can take care of this.
You nodded and began to dry your body carefully. It hurt a lot and you had to do it carefully, patting it lightly with the soft fabric of the towel. And soon he was back. You felt so useless, you couldn't even clean yourself properly.
Within a few seconds, Toji knelt in front of you and grabbed a pair of panties for you to wear. The man's strong, calloused hands slid the fabric up your legs, carefully moving up until he could finally dress you. He also handed you a random blouse that he had gotten from your closet yesterday and you got dressed.
━━ I'll start with the thighs, okay? It will burn a little.
With that said, he took some medicine and started applying it to start cleaning the cuts. It burned a little, but it was bearable, even though you grimaced and suppressed a groan.
━━ I know it hurts, I’m sorry.
You endured the pain and so he cleaned the deep cuts on your thighs, applying antiseptic spray before wrapping them in white bandages again. Now he had gotten up and was cleaning your arms so he could repeat the process.
After this whole process, he combed your hair gently with a blue comb that was in a bathroom drawer. You were showered, completely clean, with new bandages and your hair smelled good.
That afternoon Toji tried his best to make you some good food. He wasn't much of a cook, as he didn't have much time for it and didn't even care about eating healthy. But he sautéed some vegetables and greens, along with some pieces of tender meat, and used olive oil.
Even though the kitchen was a little far away, he could see that you were sitting on the sofa in the living room, silently, looking at your bandages. Yeah, you looked like a mummy now with that brand new tape. And your empty eyes were between looking at your arms and thighs and looking at the huge window that overlooked the street.
━━ C’mon. Open wide.
He said, holding a white bowl in his hands and using a fork to feed you.
━━ What do you like to eat? I can try to do whatever you like.
━━ Good question.
It's not that you developed an eating disorder during depression, but you definitely no longer had an interest in food. You ate, but you ate less because the food suddenly became uninteresting. You only ate for the sake of eating, you no longer had the happiness of eating sweets, for example, you only ate on "automatic mode”.
It was as if you couldn't taste the acidity of a kiwi, or the sweetness of a papaya. The bitter taste of unsweetened coffee, or the tenderness of meat cooked with potatoes. Suddenly, food became just food, everything with a universal flavor like bland, edible pasta.
He was well aware of your depression, and he knew he would help you.
After that day, you started living with Toji in that apartment. The place was very clean and considerably large; well maintained. He took care of you, until you were able to shower yourself, feed yourself and many other things. Not to mention that he had also noticed the way you looked sad at your cuts with that white bandage, and that's why he always bought different bandages at the pharmacy.
Some were teddy bears stamped, others dinosaurs, even some little hearts. Somehow, he just wanted you to feel more comfortable in your own skin.
He took you out for ice cream, walked in the park, let you put whatever you wanted in the grocery cart, bought you new clothes and everything. You also got to know Shiu Kong, who "monitored" you sometimes when Toji needed to work.
The killer was still afraid that you would freak out and throw yourself out of a window.
This man slept on the sofa in the living room, which was actually a sofa bed. He always preferred to leave the bed in the room to you, even if it was a double bed but he wanted you to have your personal space. After all, it was a difficult stage in your life, and you were in the process of healing.
Your cuts, which were deep, were finally healing, leaving scars on the skin. Your dark circles were disappearing and your face was getting more colorful again, becoming healthier and brighter.
After a few months, you were much better than before. Not completely healed, in fact it was far from it, but you felt like you were slowly coming out of rock bottom.
Toji Fushiguro and you hardly spoke to each other. You only spoke the essentials, but it wasn't in a strange way that didn't make you create intimacy. And every time he arrived after a murder you were already in the warmth of your covers, in a peaceful sleep, late at night.
However, this time you were awake, as you had gone to the kitchen to get a glass of water. You heard the key turn in the door handle, and saw him enter immediately without turning on a single light. The iron smell of viscous blood entered your nostrils.
━━ Goodnight.
━━ Goodnight. I didn't mean to wake you…
━━ It's okay. I was awake — you said. ━━ Are you fine?
━━ Don't worry- oof. I’ll be fine, go back to sleep.
You looked for the switch and turned on the light in the living room, seeing what you already imagined. The blood stuck to the fabric of the shirt on his body, and made you notice a wet spot right next to the rib. You sighed when you saw him like that, you had never seen him hurt during all this time. The frown remained on his face, as if he was incapable of feeling pain, but you knew it was really sore.
━━ Hm… you can… take a shower and come back. I’ll wait for you here.
Apparently the older man had understood what you meant, and oddly enough he didn't complain or question it. You already knew where the first aid kit was and some other medicines were, so you took the white suitcase from a closet in the bedroom and went back to the couch. Toji didn't take long to shower, and apparently he had taken a cold shower because his skin was refreshing, and you smelled a very peculiar perfume. A woody perfume, striking with some notes of something expensive.
It was there that night that you saw him shirtless for the first time, wearing only black sweatpants and leaving a large part of his ripped body exposed. There was a huge cut on his rib, but he was calm, as if he didn't feel anything.
He sat on the sofa and you started cleaning it very well so that it didn't get worse.
You poured some alcohol on the cut, and it remained motionless. It must have burned a lot, but you couldn't tell if he didn't feel it or if he managed to hide it very well.
━━ You know you could be in bed right now, don't you? — his harsh tone of voice was already familiar. ━━ You could be having your princess sleep.
━━ You always took care of me. Is it hard to let me take care of you?
He said something like "hm" and decided not to answer the question, keeping quiet and letting you finish taking care of that wound. In the end he practically whispered a "thank you" and you were minimally happy with that, going to the bedroom again to finish your night's sleep.
A few weeks passed and you were getting a little closer, maybe tending to his injuries was enough for him to understand that at the end of the day, you were similar. One night you woke up crying after a horrible nightmare, and Toji came to your room to comfort you. The man sat in a chair next to you so you could go back to sleeping peacefully in that huge bed.
Well, you didn't say anything else about that night, and maybe it wasn't necessary.
One night when he didn't have any work, he was on the living room balcony, smoking something that wasn't an ordinary cigarette. The peculiar aroma entered your nostrils and you could recognize: he was indeed smoking pot. Sitting on a small sofa there, enjoying the night breeze and watching the city lights in the distance in the dark. You shyly approached, and he noticed how you looked.
━━ Come here… — he patted where you were supposed to sit, right next to him. ━━ I won't bite.
Somewhat awkwardly, you approached and sat down, watching him bring the cigarette to his lips and inhale the smoke.
━━ Toji…
━━ Hm?
━━ Can I ask you something?
He nodded.
━━ That night... why did you save me?
━━ Because the deal asked for your parents' death, not yours.
━━ But you wouldn't gain anything by saving me…
He finished releasing the thick smoke through his lips and a slightly uncomfortable and heavy silence fell between the two of you. Fushiguro looked up at the starry sky for a few seconds before sighing and speaking again.
━━ You know, girl. When I looked into your eyes that night, I saw myself.
You remained silent, trying to understand.
━━ When I was younger, people threw me into a pit full of curses as punishment… that was the damn day I had to learn to be strong. I was fragile, innocent and people made me cry a lot.
What a sad story. You never imagined that someone like him had gone through something like this.
━━ With this scar here — he pointed to his own lips. ━━ I became who I am today… — powerful words. ━━ And looking into your eyes, somehow I saw the same look I had. The same look of trauma, sadness, disappointment…
A few tears were gathering in your eyes.
━━ Fuck, I mean I couldn't understand why people who were supposed to protect and love me were hurting me so much. And in your eyes I could see myself.
Well, he talked more than he should have and shut up once and for all, but his eyes widened, as he heard a crying sob and looked at you, watching two tears running down your cheek perfectly. You weren't crying because of sadness, after many years you were crying because of something good. Although you couldn't identify this feeling very well, was sure it was something good.
Had he felt connected to you somehow? Did he understand your pain?
You had finally found someone as broken as you, but who hid it and played strong, so that you could rebuild yourself.
Instinctively Toji opened his arms and made to hug you, but he stopped himself because he didn't know if you would be comfortable with that. His look of hesitation was like a request for permission, and without even thinking you fell against his strong chest, crying into his white t-shirt, as his strong arms wrapped around your body weakened by tangible emotions. He hugged you tightly and remained silent, allowing you to cry in peace.
How long has it been since you received a hug?
Even more of a hug like this, comforting and true. The kind of hug where you can feel the heat of the person's body and feel safe and protected.
━━ Why do people always hurt me, Toji? Why? — you said, sobbing.
━━ Because empty and futile people need to hurt people around them to increase their ego and pretend to fill the void — he brought a hand to your head, lightly stroking your hair. ━━ Idiot people will always want to hurt amazing people. But look…
He distanced himself a little and cupped your chin lightly with his thumb, making you look up, eyes bathed in sadness.
━━ That night I held you, and I promise I'll never let you go.
Those were the most sincere and pure words anyone had ever said to you. You didn't care if they came from the mouth of a man who got blood on his hands, he was honest with you.
Suddenly, looking into those beautiful green eyes you felt a strange attraction. And apparently he felt it too, because he hadn't taken his thumb off your chin and was looking at you with complete compassion. You sighed heavily, your eyes teary and shyly brought your face closer to his. That was what Fushiguro needed to be able to bring his face closer to yours and finally touch your lips with his.
His lips were warm and soft, and you felt his scar but it didn't bother you, it was just different.
Toji then slid his tongue across your lips slowly, and you gave in. Now your tongues were touching and you brought your shaky hands to his face, while more tears rolled down your cheeks. You were crying with happiness knowing you were savoring a kiss, it wasn't just any kiss like all the others in your life, this one was real. He felt your nervousness and held your shaking hands, making you feel the warmth of his, as he put them on his shoulders so you could get some support.
It wasn't a needy kiss, it was slow. But certainly intense.
It was then that your relationship with Toji became more serious, more sentimental, more romantic. Now he slept with you in bed, hugging you so you felt safe, or bringing you to his chest so you could enjoy as a pillow. Your cuts were already well healed but the scars would remain on your body forever and were evident. That was horrible, you bitterly regretted having cut your flesh in moments of anger and sadness, but there was nothing you could do at that time, especially without support.
Some nights, he would come back exhausted after executing a few kills, and all he needed was to collapse into your arms and rest his head in your lap. Despite his size and strength, he was still a little fragile.
And he knew how to be delicate.
Proof of this was when the kisses became too intense and evolved into sex. I mean, he always tried his best to control himself and let you take your time. Fushiguro didn't want to pressure you into anything, he didn't want to take you to bed right away.
Giving yourself over to him was certainly one of the best decisions you had made.
That night, he gently held you in his strong arms and covered you with kisses so you could relax and enjoy the moment. You had already fucked a few times with some idiots but all of them were without much desire, just done for their please. But with Toji it was different, completely different.
You were sitting on his lap while you kissed intensely, moaning against each other's mouths and he took off your blouse, making your bare chest rest against his, which also no longer had any fabric inhibiting it. The man leaned you back a little and took the opportunity to kiss your arms, especially your scars. Goddamn, he was so fucking gentle.
The delicate kisses went to your chest, radiating tremendous heat through your body. So was that desire? The real desire?
He kissed your breasts and sucked them eagerly, causing some popping noises throughout the room along with your moans. He groaned against your skin and a trickle of saliva connected his lips to your nipple as he looked up.
━━ So soft…
Suddenly, you were already lying on the bed and he was kissing your thighs, caressing your scars. The thin fabric of your panties was already completely soaked by that liquid desire that dripped down your sex. Your legs were thrown around his strong shoulders as his hot kisses were dangerously close to your most sensitive spot.
━━ I’m probably all fucked with those scars…
You ended up leaving that comment on the air and Toji licked your clit through your panties, making you moan loudly.
━━ My love, sex is not a show. We don't have to be perfect all the time…
He placed a kiss over the thin fabric and then slid his huge hands around your waist, lowering and finally removing your panties. When you were completely naked, you felt a little ashamed, yes, but not that horrible feeling of wanting to cover yourself immediately.
Toji watched you as if you were a work of art; and to him you really were.
━━ Let me just take care of you, okay? Let me do my best for you…
The words spoken in a hoarse tone entered your ears and that was more than enough for you to enjoy this fantastic feeling.
Toji simply devoured you with an immense desire, and you squeezed his hair at times to be able to control your own body due to the stimuli. He held your thighs with his big, strong hands, squeezing a little so he could rub his face more against your wet spot just like his nose rubbed your clit. While he was eating you out, he grinded his hips against the mattress looking for some relief, ‘cuz those panties were so damn tight, his cock was throbbing.
For the love of the gods, he was splendid, simply perfect.
And besides giving you so much pleasure with his tongue, he also held your body tenderly that night, fucking you in the most affectionate way possible. He placed one of your legs on his shoulder and placed a small kiss on your ankle as he held it close to your thigh and was grinding his hips against you. Fushiguro's moans were profane, as profane as the image of him naked and slightly sweaty reflected in the dim light of the nightstand lamp.
The messy dark hair, the striking scar on his lip, the striking green eyes… wow, that's a sight to behold.
You couldn't tell if that was for the best, or if it was him fucking you in missionary, keeping your legs tightly crossed around his strong hips, as he was just feeling your warm pussy milking his cock while he intertwined his fingers with yours against the mattress. He kissed you in a way that took your breath away; that was a needy kiss.
You came like never before in your life, you had never come so hard like this. And this man did it effortlessly, just by touching you in the right spots and making you scream and beg for more.
Okay, that was a night to remember.
You were now officially his girlfriend. And you had finally found someone who could rebuild you while giving you the opportunity to put the pieces together to understand the complex puzzle that he was. Every day he surprised you more, and made you feel truly loved, truly wanted.
He kept buying you clothes, washing your hair with your favorite shampoo, taking you to amazing places and giving you affection. Especially liked lying in bed with him and putting your hand over his, which was much bigger compared to yours. That hand that caressed your body and also killed people for money.
Two mentally broken people who finally intertwined fingers and decided to walk this path of life together. This brings a reflection. The romance between a murderer and a suicidal is intriguing, isn't it?
He would kill for you. You would die for him.

(long Paris apologia paragraph ahead sorry)
I love both Delta and Paris, and while Delta is infinitely more likable and I have more in common with Delta re: autism and child abuse, I honestly find Paris to be a more compelling character? (Part of this is because I'm also an alcoholic with complex trauma and I so very rarely see the worst parts of my trauma being represented in a sympathetic light.) I definitely get why people don't like him. he's a violent shithead, a menace to society and himself, not to mention he has the emotional intelligence of a rock.
You mentioned this in a previous post but I think you did a really good job with showing that a lot of Paris' worst qualities (his violent mood swings, his sense of entitlement, his power tripping abusive behavior etc) comes from a place of his own patheticness and refusal to change (especially the times when he breaks down after getting too drunk) and I think that's what allows me to sympathize with and like him more then anything. His childishness in his most monstrous and vulnerable moments really drives home that he's not really suited to the role of all powerful monarch he was raised to be, and who's abuse and status in the empire caused him both to grow up way too fast, while at the same time never allowing him to develop into a healthy adult and that he's in many ways, a kid in a grown person's body who sees himself as doomed to repeat the cycles of his childhood trauma that created him unless he chooses otherwise. (A horrifying and daunting task for someone like him)
Like the scene where he breaks Delta's arm and almost drowns him? It's scary as hell but what stands out to me it despite the horrible violence and long term consequences of his actions, is just how petty and childish his motivations for doing so is (which does not make them any less harmful). he's acting this way because he feels slighted and abandoned by Lorelai. You hurt me I hurt you. This gives me a lot of leeway into both sympathizing with him as someone with similar struggles while also reminding me that he's not the way he is because he's powerful, like he wants you to believe, but a very weak and jaded person who wants to feel powerful and is given the systemic means to. Which doesn't make him less dangerous.
Sorry for the long ask, I'm just very much enjoying your story, especially Paris's "being humbled by life" arc and I'm super excited about what will be in store for both him and Delta next ❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
oh my godddddd this was such an amazing thing to wake up to. i kind dont even wanna post it i just want to hold onto it forever. this is so sweet.
i dont know if i can respond to all of this right now and i might talk more about the different points you brought up later. but generally i am so pleased with this analysis and im pleased you have gotten this much out of it? im gonna say more under the cut
pretty heavy warnings for child abuse. nothing explicit just discussion of institutional child abuse/complex trauma and how it affects people psychologically.
like i said i could talk about them basically forever but re: childishness and being pathetic. YEAH i mean i think it is very obvious that paris’s growth has been stunted as a result of abuse + neglect. in fact i think that growing up in empire alone is inherently stunting because it is a system very much designed to kill empathy and to breed hunger and greed in people. its a problem with the whole society, cruelty and selfishness are incentivized over developing more complex moral structures and even over developing your own identity.
[ people like lorelai are very much an outlier within Empire, but i think its clear that she is….also pretty immature? she has a lot of love and a desire to do good, which kind of makes up for it, but she is childish in the sense that her parents sheltered her and her own ideas about revolution and utopia are very very idealized. i think this delusional optimism is a good thing for paris tbh and it kinda balances out his own cynicism. but lorelai will need to grow up at some point too. its just her reckoning is allowed to be softer. ]
but paris’s case was particularly bad for a few reasons.
the most obvious is that he was prince and naturally the expectations placed on him were a lot greater and the consequences for not meeting them were a lot harsher.
paris was born with pretty severe ADHD and mood regulation issues and his symptoms only worsened the more that he was punished for them
paris at his core is a genuinely sensitive and intelligent person that understands right from wrong
and i think this alone provides a lot of context for how he is now but it also makes it easier to understand why his childhood was basically torture for him. like yeah exposure to complex trauma will kind of naturally stunt your growth at certain points but you also get the sense that paris’s growth was like. deliberately stunted or that the handicap was self-inflicted. paris acts dumber than he is. its how he makes peace with it. its cool to be a callous idiot because if you have to be a self aware and moral person in this environment you will immediately get one-shotted by guilt.
and for what it’s worth i think delta’s growth was also — obviously — stunted. but in a different way shaped by their respective roles.
it’s legitimately really gross for me to describe it this way but it does feel like one of the goals with delta’s conditioning was to make a forever-child. someone who will do what you say and remain perfectly ignorant and docile and obedient. he can be used but is basically incapable of putting up a fight. martino and simon both speak to delta like he’s a child and that infantilization is to keep him pliant and similarly trapped in that same sense of helplessness he felt when he was little :(
i think delta is very low empathy naturally and actually doesnt have an innate moral compass which is what made him such a perfect candidate for the job. but it also means he is super susceptible to getting someone else’s morals imposed onto him as long as he finds them logical and coherent. his ability to morally reason and his way of interacting with people is obviously very underdeveloped but its more immediately obvious why.
ive said before that i think delta is more emotionally mature than paris but i think maybe this paints an incorrect view of things? i mean. delta is not holding his tongue and regulating his own emotions because he thinks its a mature thing to do. hes doing it because he knows not to speak without permission and that if he ever had an outburst the way paris did, he would be beaten within an inch of his life. so i feel like maybe its wrong to attribute this as one of his virtues. (without totally discounting the fact that delta is very sweet and doing his best.) delta would very much struggle with like. setting boundaries, standing up for himself in any way, communicating his feelings. you can describe paris as childish but i think delta is childlike. in that he’s also suffering the consequences of abuse but his specific conditioning has made him more fawny in a way that reads as sympathetic and virtuous.
basically yeah my point was. they were both stunted at some critical point in their development and are both dealing with the consequences of that. paris was a victim but he was simultaneously groomed to be a perpetrator, versus delta who is mostly victim.
anyway thanks so much wow im gonna print this whole ask out ❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹

I finally realized why the “I don’t think I’ve ever been good” scene hurt me so bad, it’s because Felix desperately wants to be good.
He is so willing to give himself away for others and over time he’s valued his worth on how useful he can be, he measures how good he is on his much use others can get out of him.
Through all his life he’s just wanted to be a a good son, a good brother, a good errand boy, a good student, a good soldier, etc, etc. and it’s so fucking heartbreaking that he doesn’t believe he ever achieved this self imposed standard.
Felix was never given any sort of confirmation that his actions were ever enough, he craves praise and confirmation because it means that he’s doing things correctly and he’s so fucking scared of losing this self-perceived worth. You can see it whenever they encounter anything that might affect his magic, Felix is terrified of it, because he loses the only way to defend himself and because he loses all the worth he has.
If he can’t use magic he isn’t useful, if he isn’t useful he’s worthless and therefore he’s bad. He’s not good enough.
Slowly over the adventure Felix has put the slightest amount of worth on himself but really it is still a trying job.
THE WORST PART. Is that every member of the bdw party struggles with issues like this!! They all feel insufficient or bad one way or another!
Caprice feels bad because of his lineage and is scared of failing his family which in turn led him to do things that are considered “devilish” to try and achieve it.
Toa develops a complex with feeling like he’s not smart enough and generally had a small feat of not being strong enough to protect his people and friends.
Though it’s not addressed directly Lufti has abandonment issues and wants to be loved by everyone as much as she does because she’s scared of being left just like when she was a baby.
Iris doesn’t let it show but as she grew up a middle child she felt insufficient and abandoned which is what led her down to path of priesthood, and she because so engrossed in it that she never actually learned who herself was because she was always more focused on being good to her god and honoring her family.
We didn’t get enough time with Hyrja but she was scared of not taking the right decision of leaving her mom behind and maybe letting be susceptible to danger, she was also attempting to become a forge cleric like her dad and it is not discussed if it is actually something she wants for herself or because her parents want it for her.
They are just sgsgsgsgshdhgs I’m crying.
#legends of avantris#beneath dark wings#felix ackerman#capriccio caprice de sesto#iris of the sands#lufti#hyrja anvilheart#toa kamanui#bon talks#text post#they drive insane#there is also a point to be made#about them all carrying the weight of their family in some way#and also being the youngest crew#the oldest being either Toa or lufti in their early twenties#and then caprice at 21????#HES BARELY AN ADULT#so is Felix which is frightening#anyways
